My favourite concept for my solo!oc x Poe dameron fic is both of them being so terrified of Leia finding out anything’s going on between them because he’s her commander and there’s an age gap to the point they try to convince themselves they aren’t idiots in love and become absolutely insufferable to each other and everyone around them.
So while they’re in full crisis mode trying to not fall in love with each other Leia’s just assumed they’re in the worst kept hidden relationship in history and is actively gaslighting the rest of high command into thinking their fights aren’t lovers spats but productive mission debriefings.
She’s actively trying to cover for their bullshit while they’re completely oblivious to the fact she knows damn well what’s going despite her having to repeatedly lecture them on public conduct and having to accidentally overhear black squadron trying to piece together if the two of them are sleeping together or genuinely can’t stand each other.
And this is after she purposefully put them on the same squadron because she knew they’d hit it off and hopefully work well together only for it to backfire when she realises she’s having to relive her and Han’s days on Hoth.

i do unironically think the best artists of our generation are posting to get 20 notes and 3 reblogs btw. that fanfic with like 45 kudos is some of the best stuff ever written. those OCs you carry around have some of the richest backstories and worldbuilding someone has ever seen. please do not think that reaching only a few people when you post means your art isn't worth celebrating.
