gonna be so real i hate when characters are introduced as messy haired and a bit ruffled looking then over the episodes/seasons they get progressively better put-together and start combing/styling their hair neatly and wearing less silly clothes. like let them look ruffled up

your absolutely right. nobody can leave those tow alone for five minutes or else they will have a 6 hour conversation about a variety of topics. none of which r connected.
also everyone makes jokes abt wv being daves best friend instead of john (they’re just jokes tho)
they go and get coffee together and they end up having to move the discussion somewhere else because dave's really loud whenever he gets into it and they end up staying until the cafe's supposed to close. whenever dave tells his friends he's going to go catch up with the mayor they have to understand he will not be back until dark

Love Thy Neighbor again because I can't get over it. Mel introduces reader and Ellie to her family, the reader is a nervous mess and Mels Grandma and Ellie become besties with Ellie proudly stating that she's an honorary schemmenti and making Mel start to think about making reader a official schemmenti 💜
I got you, but know that this has spawned a new little mini-series within this verse
Love Thy Neighbor, Two Families Become One- pt 1
Tumblr media
You honestly don’t really know how you’ve made it this far without meeting Melissa’s side of the family. She’s met your parents, and they absolutely adore her. You remember how that meeting went- Melissa was an absolute nervous wreck, and Ellie couldn’t understand why for the life of her.
“Mel,” your little girl had rolled her eyes playfully at the redhead as she twirled around in her dress. “You’re bein’ silly. It’s just Grandma and Grandpa.”
“Just nervous,” Melissa told your daughter. “I want them to like me.”
“They will,” Ellie promised your girlfriend. “Because Momma loves you, and I love you, and that’s all that care about.”
The redhead looked at your daughter with soft warm eyes. “Thanks, El. But I still have to do my best to impress.”
The three of you made your way across town to your parents house, and as you climbed out of the car, Ellie attached herself to Melissa.
“Up, please,” the little girl asked quietly as she raises her arms up.
Of course, the second grade teacher immediately obliged your daughter’s request before taking a deep breath and walking up with you to the front door.
“It’s okay,” Ellie squeezed Melissa just the slightest bit tighter and pressed a kiss to her cheek in hopes of calming the woman’s nerves.
The redhead just gave a tight, nervous smile before turning her attention to the door that had just whipped open to reveal both of your parents.
Your parents engulfed you in hugs, acting as if they hadn’t seen you in forever when it had really only been a few weeks.
“And this must be Melissa,” your father looked your girlfriend up and down with a stone face.
“I am,” the redhead smiled nervously. “It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
Your dad stuck out his hand and shakes your girlfriend’s sternly.
“Pop, stop trying to scare Mel!” Ellie giggled. She whispered in Melissa’s ear conspiratorially, “Pop is like a teddy bear, he’s tryin’ really hard to be scary.”
That got your father to break out into a grin as he reached for your little girl’s belly to tickle. “Ellie! You can’t give me up that easily! The name’s Frank, and the ol’ lady next to me is-”
“Frank!” your mother batted at your father playfully before smiling to your girlfriend. “Rita,” your mother introduced herself. “Don’t listen to a word that man says. Ellie is right, he’s just a big teddy bear.”
“Play nice, Dad,” you rolled your eyes as you stepped into the house that you had grown up in. “Is dinner ready? I’m starving.”
“Some things never change with you, kid,” you father chuckled. “It’s on the table and ready.
Dinner with your family was pleasant. Ellie made sure to highlight just about every wonderful thing there was to say about Melissa and state just how much she adored your girlfriend.
“Pop! Did you know that Mel teaches with Momma? Did you know that Mel pushes me on the swings and takes videos of me when I go down the slide?! She’s just the best,” Ellie gushed.
And by the end of the night, Melissa had gotten the stamp of approval from both of your parents.
“See?” Ellie exasperates as Melissa buckles her into the carseat to head back to your apartment complex. “I told you there wasn’t anything to worry about.”
“I think you were a big help,” your girlfriend chuckled. “Thank you, little girl.”
“Gram and Pop would be…” she lowers her voice. “Stupid… if they didn’t like you.”
“Elizabeth,” you raise a brow as you turn in your seat to look at her.
Your daughter just shrugs. “I’m just bein’ honest, Momma.”
You chuckle. “Okay, little girl.”
But now that you were going to meet Melissa’s family, take those nerves that Melissa had felt previously, and multiply it by ten.
You’re in the middle of putting your face on in the bathroom when Melissa comes in.
“My love,” she sighs as she wraps her arms around your waist and kisses your cheek. “You don’t need to wear makeup.”
“I know, I know,” you mumble. “But I don’t want to show up looking like a slob.”
The redhead rolls her green eyes. “Babe, you’re beautiful no matter what, and my mom and Nonna are going to love you.”
“And what if they don’t?” you ask as you continue to apply your eyeshadow.
Melissa looks at you like you just asked her the dumbest question on the planet. “There’s not a chance in hell they aren’t going to love you, and Nonna is going to absolutely adore El.”
“What about me?!” Ellie pops her head into the room. She then sees that you have your makeup out. “Ooh! Sparkles!”
“El, tell your momma she doesn’t need makeup to look beautiful.”
“Mom is right, Momma,” your daughter tells you seriously as she perches herself on the sink. “Why are you putting makeups on anyway? You only wear makeups when it’s a special occasion.”
“It is a special occasion,” you say softly. “We’re meeting Mel’s mom and grandma, and I want to make a good impression.”
Ellie’s lips into a little ‘O’. “Can I wear makeups to make a good impression too?”
That makes you pause, and you chuckle softly. “Pick one eyeshadow, and I’ll put it on for you.”
She squeals with delight as she looks at your palette. She ends up deciding on a very neutral but sparkly shade, and you gently put it on her eyelids. As soon as it’s on, your little girl is leaning in to look at herself in the mirror and giggling.
“Do I look good, Mom?”
“You look beautiful as always,” Melissa leans over and kisses Ellie’s cheek. She then pecks yours. “Just like you do.”
“What time do we have to be there?”
“We have to leave in thirty minutes,” your girlfriend tells you. “And I’ll make sure we have Ellie’s stuff in the car for her so you don’t have one more thing to worry about.”
“Thank you,” you sigh softly. “I should be ready within the next twenty minutes.”
“C’mon, El,” Melissa smiles down at the little girl. “Let’s let your Momma get ready while we get your stuff ready for the car.”
You manage to get yourself together before the promised twenty minutes, and you enter the living room the to sight of your girlfriend and your daughter lounging on the couch together.
“Hey,” you get their attention, and Melissa’s jaw drops just slightly. “What?”
Her eyes sparkle with love for you. “You look… stunning.”
“You’re ridiculous,” you laugh softly as you run a hand through your loosely curled hair. “I look like I do everyday we go to school.”
“And?” your girlfriend asks as she stands from her place on the couch. “You look gorgeous there too, and you should know it- I only tell you everyday.”
“You look really pretty, Momma,” Ellie smiles at you as she hands you your purse.
You look down at your little girl as you ruffle her hair. “How much did Mom pay you to say that?”
“Nothin’!” your little girl gives you a cheeky smile.
“Are you ready?” the redhead asks you softly.
You take a deep breath. “As ready as I’m ever going to be,” you tell her.
The entire drive over to the Schemmenti household, Melissa’s hand rests gently on your thigh to provide warmth and comfort. She’s pulling in far too soon.
“We’re here,” she tells you gently. “But we’ll go in when you’re ready.”
You nod. “I’m ready.”
Melissa holds Ellie’s hand as the three of you make your way up to the front door, and you’re greeting with a woman that can only be Nonna.
“Nonna!” your girlfriend confirms as she embraces the shorter woman.
“There’s my Melissa Ann,” Nonna smiles. “Looking beautiful as ever.”
The redhead is nearly a spitting image of the woman in front of you, and when her mother comes to the door, it’s like there’s three generations of your girlfriend.
“Nonna, Mom,” Melissa smiles brightly. “This is my girlfriend, Y/N and her daughter, Ellie.”
You smile shyly and give a wave before tucking a hair behind your ear. “It’s a pleasure.”
“Hi!” your little girl squeaks with a smile. “I’m Ellie, and I’m seven.”
“Oh, aren’t you a cute little thing,” Melissa’s grandmother coos as she pinches your daughter’s cheek gently. “It’s nice to meet you, Ellie. You can call me Nonna.” She stands up straight to look at you. “The pleasure is all mine… Our Lissa has talked a lot about you- can’t believe it’s taken you this long to make it over for dinner!”
“We’re glad to be here,” you smile as you stick out a hand for her to shake. Then you face her mother. “Thank you for inviting us over.”
“We’ve been telling Lissa to bring you over for months now,” her mother chuckles. “Annette.”
“It’s very nice to meet you Annette,” you smile as you shake her hand too.
“Well, come in, come in,” both women say at once.
“Dinner is almost ready, but there are some snacks out in the meantime, and can I get any of you anything to drink?” Annette asks.
“Wine for me and Y/N,” Melissa answers as she makes her way into the kitchen. “And El, what do you want?”
Your little girl looks up at your girlfriend and shrugs.
“We made sure we were stocked up for you,” Nonna chuckles. “Lemonade, apple juice, grape juice, orange juice, water… you name it, kiddo.”
“Can I have lemonade, Mom?” Ellie asks quietly. “Please?”
At the term your little girl uses, you stay quiet.
“Sure thing, El,” Melissa smiles softly as she lifts Ellie to sit on the counter.
Nonna and Annette both raise eyebrows in shock, and it mirrors the same face that your girlfriend makes when she’s surprised.
“Mom?” Nonna asks gently. “Lissa, is there something you aren’t telling us?”
The redhead rolls her eyes playfully. “She started calling me Mom, and if she’s comfortable with it, I’m more than happy to be Mom.”
Ellie grins and leans over to kiss Melissa’s cheek while Annette pours a lemonade and Nonna pours the wine.
“Can I help with anything?” you offer.
“Oh, aren’t you sweet?” Annette smiles as she hands you your wine. “No, Nonna has it handled.”
“Can I help?” Ellie chirps from her place on the counter. “Mom and Momma let me help with dinner all the time, and I love it!”
Nonna grins. “Oh, I could definitely use the help from you, little one. The rest of you, out of my kitchen!”
Melissa chuckles as she presses a kiss to your daughter’s head and pulls you to the living room couch. “I knew her and Nonna would get along like two peas in a pod.”
“Yeah?” you ask softly.
“Nonna loves the little ones, and Ellie is the best little girl out there,” Melissa shrugs as she kisses your temple.
“So…” Annette looks at the two of you.
You and your girlfriend spend the time that dinner is being prepared chatting with Melissa’s mother about everything under the sun. Occasionally, you hear Ellie squeal with joy. It brings a happiness to your heart- knowing that your daughter is making a connection with one of your girlfriend’s favorite people.
“Momma! Mom!” Ellie comes bouncing in with the biggest smile on her face. “Dinner’s ready!”
You, Melissa, and her mother all stand from your place on the couch and head for the dining room. There’s a beautiful display on the table.
“Nonna teached me how to set a table properly!” your little girl absolutely beams.
Nonna smiles a smile that matches Ellie’s energy.
Dinner is wonderful, and you absolutely insist on helping clean up and help to set out dessert with Melissa and Ellie while Annette and Nonna sit back and sip their wine.
“So, what do you think?” Nonna asks.
Annette smiles. “Lissa did good with this one. She’s better than Joe.”
“Her little girl is the cutest little thing,” Nonna notes softly. “If her manners and sweetness are anything to go by, Lissa may have found her person.”
“So?” Melissa asks you quietly.
“Your mom is so sweet,” you tell her genuinely.
Ellie grins. “Nonna is my most favorite person! She teached me to fold the napkins, and that the sharp side of the knife should always face the plate when you set the table.”
The smile that washes over your girlfriend’s face is gorgeous. You peck her lips gently as you finish washing the last of the dishes.
After dessert, you find yourself with another glass of wine while you lounge on the couch and chat with your girlfriend’s family. Ellie curls up in Melissa’s lap, happy to drink her lemonade and cuddle. You can tell though as the night goes on that your daughter is getting sleepy, and it’s clear that Melissa can too.
“Is Ellie girl gettin’ tired?” the redhead asks as she kisses Ellie’s head and takes the cup out of her hand.
Your little girl nods against Melissa’s chest as she rubs at her eyes. The two of you glance at the clock- it is getting to be the time where Ellie starts to wind down for the night.
“I guess we should probably start heading out for the night,” your girlfriend tells her family. “But we’ll have to get together again soon… maybe you can come over to our apartment for dinner one night.”
“That would be lovely,” Nonna smiles. “I’d love to get to see Ellie again- you know, she reminds me of you a little.”
“Really?”
“Full of life, eager to help,” the eldest woman smiles. “She’s a little honorary Schemmenti.”
Ellie gives a sleepy smile that quickly turns into a yawn as she plays with the chains around Melissa’s neck. “Ellie Schemmenti,” she mumbles against your girlfriend’s chest.
If the kiss that’s pressed to Ellie’s temple is anything to go by, you would say that Melissa is quite happy with that little statement.
“Alright, Ma,” your girlfriend stands with Ellie in her arms. “Nonna. It’s time we head out and get the little one to bed, but thank you for having us.”
“Seriously,” you chime in softly. “Thank you so much. Dinner was wonderful.”
“Anytime, sweetheart,” Nonna and Annette tell you at the same time.
As you hug Melissa’s grandmother, she whispers in your ear, “Seriously, anytime. You’re family now.”
Nonna was never the best whisperer though, so Melissa hears the sweet words that are said. Her smile doesn’t leave her face the entire walk out to the car.
Once you get on the road, Melissa takes your hand in her own and brings it up to her lips. “I told you, there wasn’t anything to worry about. They’re both a lot like me… tough on the outside, softies on the inside.”
“I guess you were right this time,” you chuckle softly.
“When are you going to realize I’m always right?” your girlfriend teases you. “What did you think though, for real?”
“I see where you get a lot of your personality,” you tell her. “And I love you, so I love your family.”
“And my Nonna’s comment about Ellie being an honorary Schemmenti?” the redhead presses just slightly.
“The cutest thing in the world,” you sigh in content.
When Melissa pulls into the driveway, she expertly lifts Ellie out of her carseat and into her arms without waking her before taking her into the house. The two of you tuck her in together, and she only wakes up slightly when you press kisses to her face.
“Goodnight, Momma. Goodnight Mom. I love you,” Ellie mumbles out, still half asleep.
“We love you too, love bug,” you whisper as you brush away a few of the stray hairs. Melissa repeats the sentiment before you head off to prepare for bed yourself.
She’s in bed before you are, and when you slide in, she seems to be deep in thought. You curl into her arms.
“Penny for your thoughts?”
“Just thinking about how lucky I am to have you,” she whispers as she kisses the nape of you neck.
“I think I’m the lucky one,” you sigh out softly, a bit breathily.
Your girlfriend shakes her head. “That would be me,” she tells you as she nips at you. “I don’t know how I managed to land a gorgeous and kind woman like you- the most amazing person I’ve ever met.”
You push away from her slightly. “I am loving these compliments, but honey, I’m too tired to have sex tonight.”
“That’s fine,” she tells you as she pulls you back into her arms and lets you lay your head on her chest. “Get some good sleep, hun.”
You fall asleep rather quickly, exhausted from the events of today, but Melissa lays awake as she replays her Nonna’s words in her head- that Ellie was an honorary Schemmenti, that you were part of the family now. And that gets her thinking… Should she forego the ‘honorary’ portion of your titles and officially make you Schemmentis? She falls asleep thinking about this.

I was thinking back to the Halloween Event in TWST and that moment where Ace yells at Malleus for kidnapping Yuu (and other other students, he guesses) and IDK, maybe it's just how I look at Malleus' face and tone, but I could just picture him looking at Ace and thinking "Ah yes. He shall make a fine Queensguard for when I marry the Prefect"
I think you might be the only person who saw that scene and saw something other than aceyuu and o7 props for that know what you like and make everything about it, that's what I say!
I did sort of tear my hair out about this for a bit because my initial reaction was to say "I don't think Briar Valley recruits from outside countries" but that's not really true. I seem to remember that Sebek's grandpa isn't originally from Briar Valley, he's from the Sunset Savannah but he is still a fae so maybe they only make exceptions for other fae? Either way I can't really see Ace accepting a body guard position, he'd probably find it too boring ha. And I don't think Malleus would think to offer that since he would much rather leave guarding his spouse to Silver and Sebek. Lilia guarded both his parents after all, it just makes sense for him to trust his guards with his spouse too. His friends have more than proved themselves capable of such an honor.
I think the scene showed how much Malleus likes being treated like a person. He put Ace's friend in danger and Ace is chewing him out like he would anyone else, and it's someone Malleus cares about too so he's extra appreciative! It's good to know the people you care about have people around them who do too. He might not think to hire him on as a guard, but I could absolutely see him giving Ace and Deuce honorary titles as blessings because of how much he appreciates all they did for Yuu while they were at school. It is part of his role as Briar Valley's king to bestow gifts after all.
Now historical fantasy au Ace as an actual card soldier and Queensguard to Royal Riddle? That I can see.

i feel like a kid running around with their drawing to show everyone else in the room bc i've already told like 2 other blogs about this scenario i had while i was trying to sleep but can you IMAGINE being a family friend of the sawyers? maybe your grandparents knew theirs before times were tough and cannibalism became their means of survival, and your family's died off and left you the little farmhouse and patch of land a few miles outside of the sawyers' boundaries. drayton's clarified you're off-limits (through some honorary family-friend ideals, or as not to upset grandpa 'cause your folks were always kind to them) and you're none the wiser to their true savagery they get up to (you can hear a scream once or twice, when you drive your dad's old beat up truck near their land sometimes, but you always think they've got really rowdy and funny sounding goats). but you've inherited your family's farmhouse and poor little you just doesn't know anything about farming and fixing up the house! no matter how hard you try, nothing grows, so one uneventful day you drop off some seeds as a gift for drayton since, well, they're not getting any use with you, and you mention a problem that needs fixing. maybe it's a rusty shed door you can't get open, or a busted roof. either way, drayton's always liked to keep up apparances and you haven't had a chance to meet the new additions of the family, so drayton sends johnny back with you (after giving him thorough lecturing about how no, you are NOT a potential victim, you're just a little oblivious, and plus johnny's the most... convincingly normal one out of all of them, arguably) to fix something up for you as thanks for the seeds. so now there's a sweaty, attractive, pretty charming (and maybe a little subtly condescending) guy fixing up something because you hadn't the slightest clue how to fix it, so you might as well make him some lemonade or tea and thank him! and, well, johnny might think you're amusing. pretty sweet, pretty cute, pretty *airheaded*. drayton said you were off-limits for anything violent, of course, but that didn't mean he couldn't test any other limits, right?
aaaah~ no bc wait I think you’re onto something here!! you got me thinking so many filthy thots rn, so I made a lil drabble, hope that’s okay w you? 😭❤️ sjdbdjdndnfnf I hope it’s written okay, I wrote this half asleep in bed but I couldn’t stop thinking abt it!
warnings — slight dub-con, light smut, Johnny being Johnny!
Tumblr media
“Here you go, Mr Johnny,” you smiled up the ladder toward him as you walked out with two glasses of lemonade in hand, “where’d ya want it?”
“Just set it down on the table there.” His voice was stern, a tad hint of annoyance laced into it, not that you noticed.
Johnny stood at the top of the ladder, nail in mouth as he hammered another into roof of your porch, closing off the gap which would hopefully stop the rattling noise anytime there was a gust of wind. He slipped the hammer and last few nails into his work belt before looking down at you stood below him, so innocently sipping through the curly straw in your lemonade glass.
The Texan heat wasn’t good for much, but the way it made a light coat of sweat glisten on your body as the sun began to set was enough to make him appreciate the summer weather. Your denim shorts just a little too high up and your white vest top just a little too low, but from where he was stood he got to have the perfect angle down your shirt, and you were none the wiser.
Johnny carefully came down the ladder before picking his glass up off the table, his eyes never once leaving your body. He couldn’t help but chuckle to himself, you really were oblivious, so innocent and air-headed that he wondered how you survived off by yourself all these years before coming back to the farmlands.
The way Drayton sent him out here with you alone, like sending a lamb off to the slaughter — an adorable, pretty little lamb making lemonade for a starving lion. Johnny wondered to himself what you’d think if you found out what they were really like, just how savage and dangerous they were, would you run scared from him, give him chase to hunt you down on acres of land?
“Sorry about you having to come out here, I’ve clearly got a lot to learn about all this type of stuff, huh?” You laughed as you gestured toward the house and the land surrounding it.
Johnny was snapped from his thoughts, a fake little smile crossing his face as he nodded, “don’t sweat it, darlin’, friends helping out friends, ain’t that right?”
He knew that Drayton said you weren’t to be a victim, that you weren’t some prey to be chased and hunted down, butchered just for the hell of it, but what about anything else? After all, this was Drayton’s way of saying thanks to you, but what did Johnny get out of this? Where was his thank you for fixing up your roof free of charge? If you weren’t going to be Johnny’s victim then he’d sure as hell find away for you to give him thanks.
“Say,” he placed his half empty glass down on the table beside him, “you moved back up here all alone, not got a boyfriend following you here?”
“Oh, heh, no. Haven’t had one of those in a long while, Mr Johnny.”
“Huh, well that’s just peachy, darlin’.”
He walked from the table and closer to you, his hand stroking up and down your arm as he worked his way behind you, his warm body pressing up against yours as he leaned down to your ear, “how about a thank you for all my hard work, hm?”
His hand snaked its way around your waist and played with the button of your shorts, his lips grazing across the delicate skin of your neck, gently kisses to distract you from what his hands were doing. Truth be told you didn’t want him to stop, and he could tell. The way you let him unbutton your pants without a fight, his fingers working their way between your legs and tracing a line back and forth against your clothed cunt.
“Mr Johnny, I don’t think—”
“That’s alright, baby, you don’t gotta think,” his free hand wrapped around your throat, tilting your head to the side so he could more easily bite and suck at your skin, “just gotta do whatever I tell you to do.”
After all, Drayton said you couldn’t be slaughtered like he did the others, but he didn’t say anything about Johnny not being able to fuck you til’ you couldn’t walk no more.

Can we get the aftermath of Y/N giving birth of them and Benimaru's child? Where the executives are celebrating and Rimuru gets to be the honorary uncle to his right hand man's child? Please?
“I hear by call this meeting of the official naming ceremony to order.” You let out a sigh as Shion tapped her gavel on the table. Rocking your new born infant in your arms.
The baby was doing well. All plump and pink now, with a tuff of flaming red hair that refused to stay down. It had been a few weeks since you had given birth and everyone had given you & Benimaru space to bond with the baby. Coming over occasionally to sit and coo, but in uncharacteristically calm order.
Then, today, out of the blue, you got a note that you and the baby were summoned to a meeting of what seemed like every person you had ever known. “I still don’t know what’s going on….”
“It’s time we all came to an agreement on what [B/N] is going to call us.” Shion explained. “We all can’t be called the same thing. That would be confusing, and unfair.”
“They can’t even talk.” You remind her again. The first time you reminded her was when she was at the house and trying to get them to say ‘Shion’ as their first word. “Besides, can’t they just call you Aunt or Uncle what’s-your-name?”
“NO!!”
The unanimous shouting startled the baby, who began to cry, but you quickly calmed them down.
“Now, I will start us off.”
“Why do you get to start us off?” Milim squawked.
“Because I have the gavel.” Shion snarked back. The two women glared at each other for a considerable moment before they broke off in a huff, and Shion continued. “Now, I’ve thought long and hard about this and I would like to be called…Aunt Shion.”
‘Didn’t I just suggest that?’ You thought to yourself.
“Excuse me, Shion.” The sickly sweet voice of Shuna spoke up. The sickly sweet voice that usually meant danger was near. “I believe, as Benimaru’s true blood sister, it should be I that [B/N]-chan calls Aunt.”
“We can both be ‘aunt’.”
“Didn’t you just say that it would be ‘confusing and unfair’ to share names?”
Shion huffed and folded her arms. Bested by her own words. “Fine! Come back to me. Souei, what do you want your name to be?”
“Souei.”
“You can’t just be called Souei. Besides, the name is too hard for a baby to say.”
“Souei….nee.”
Shion sighed. “Hakurou-san, what’s your name?”
“I think I would like to be called ‘Jiji’.”
“You want to be called ‘grandpa’?” You asked. Just to clarify.
“I’m much older than any of you.” He said. “ ‘Uncle’ just doesn’t seem to fit with a man my age. Plus, I must admit, the feeling of the word ‘grandpa’ warms my soul.” He even let out an old man ‘ho ho ho’ at the thought.
“I wanna be called Onee-chan!” Milim announced.
“That won’t do.” Shuna told her. “What happens when Onii-chan and [Y/N] have another baby? You’ll have to change it all over again.”
“Another baby?” Did you not just have this one?
“We can cross that bridge when we come to it.” Shion said. Making an executive decision and hitting her gavel. “Now, I have come up with my name and it shall be….Auntie Shion.”
The room clapped as if Shion had made some brilliant discovery, while the secretary beamed at her brilliance. “You guys are weird.”
The doors then opened and Rimuru-sama and Benimaru walked in. “What’s going on?”
“Apparently everyone decided they needed a meeting to figure out what our infant child will call them.” You explain.
“Oh. Can the baby call me Muru-kun?” Rimuru-sama asked, and the room erupted in another fit of excitement. Waking the subject of the meeting again from their nap.

Sodor in the age of social media
1. Edward
Edward is perhaps not the type of engine you would expect to have an online presence, much less an active one, with a large following. However whilst he has never been a loud presence online, he has been consistent and beloved since nearly the beginning.
It began with a story.
In the early 2000s Edward's driver was at her whits end. Her toddler refused to fall asleep, instead crying throughout the night. The doctors all said she was healthy, that this was a phase, but the driver and her husband were exhausted. One august night, it was her turn to stay up with the toddler, she tried driving around, hoping the motion of the car would lull the child to sleep, but there was no luck. When she went to pass by the engine sheds, she turned in out of desperation. Edward was over 100 years old, maybe he knew what to do.
She entered the engine shed, finding all the engines awake. It is well known among railway men that any engine can pick out the cry of a child above any other sound, a fact that has proved both a blessing and a curse to their crews.
The exhausted woman climbed onto the bufferbeam gently shushing the child to no avail.
'Well hello little one."
The baby quieted, staring up in awe at the engine before her.
"Would you like a story little one?"
The toddler cooed and stretched a hand towards the giant face of the engine.
"Thomas was a little engine..."
The child was soothed by the elder engine's voice, and try as she might to fight it, she was soon asleep. The driver thanked the engine profusely, but he just chuckled and asked her to bring the child if it happened again.
Victoria Sand grew up on the buffer beam of her mother's engine, listening to stories of the railway, and her grandfather's time as driver.
In order to allow the engine sleep the mother recorded many of the stories, so they wouldn't have to disturb him to get the child to sleep, despite the engine's protests that he enjoyed their visits.
The years went on, and young Victoria began sleeping through the night (although there was more than one instance of her sneaking out to see her honorary grandfather.) The mother wished to help other mothers and fathers like herself so, with Edward's permission, she uploaded the stories to a video site.
"Storytime with Grandpa Edward" grew slowly but surely, as parents found them and played them for their children. As the videos popularity grew, many asked for Edward to read their children's favorite books.
It should be noted at this time, almost no one outside of the Island realized 'Grandpa Edward' was in fact a locomotive, much less Northwestern No.2. Victoria's father was an artist, and the videos consisted of Edward's voice over his paintings. Most of the audience had assumed Grandpa Edward was human. Upon the realization, Edward chuckled and asked it be kept that way, as he was touched so many people liked his stories on their own.
A young generation of children grew up listening to "Grandpa Edward" alongside Victoria Sand, some of whom would later visit Sodor. Whilst their parents would almost never recognize the engines voice over the sound of steam and metal, the children would. Edward would just laugh and ask for it to remain their secret.
The years passed, and the 2020s arrived. By this time "Grandpa Edward" was a household name for much of Britain, with thousands of stories recorded and released. Edward had declined in person interviews over the years, he was much too busy on his branchline after all. Despite helping to raise an entire generation, Grandpa Edward had remained a mysterious figure, known only by his stories, even as little Victoria grew up and became a mother herself.
The revelation of his identity involved certain blue tank engine, because of course it was. The sickness that must not be named had swept the globe. Sodor was weathering the storm well, as it had closed its borders promptly and thoroughly. Despite this, the children of the island grew stifled in their houses, mossing school, their friends, and the freedom of the outside worlds.
The NWR came together to help in what ways they could. Thomas was ran from one side of the island to the other, making videos for children to watch, to show them that the world and their friends would still be there waiting for them when they came out. As expected, the 'Thomas touch' happened, and the videos seemed to explode overnight, with children around the world eagerly watching Thomas on his adventures around the Island. But Thomas was growing tired. He was older now, 106 thank you very much, and the constant longer runs were more than he was used to on his branchline.
Edward took one look at him one evening at Wellsworth as he waited for a clear signal to Ffarquhar, and promptly dragged Thomas and his coaches. Thomas protested, the kids needed the joy the videos brought.
"Leave it to me," Edward said.
The first video was simply titled 'Grandpa Edward reads Thomas a story.' The video opened to show Thomas and his coaches parked inside the Wellsworth Sheds, a fully grown Victoria holding the 'The Three Railway Engines' up for Grandpa Edward to read.

Why do I have a feeling Garp would think Shanks is annoying Buggy and putting in these situations all by himself.
The Marine!Buggy Au
garp out here assigning himself honorary grandpa to any child he can find - absolutely. he can't help it, not only did he see the hurt buggy felt after believing he was left for dead, but he FINALLY HAS A KID THAT WANTS TO BE A MARINE!!! (sort of, like 50/50 but he'll take it)
shanks back off he's not letting this one go!
this does lead to the thought that buggy becomes asl baby sitters when garp drags him to visit and poor clown gets beaten up per usual.
but i think ace and luffy would get a little attached to their "assigned uncle at first glance" after he gets misty-eyed telling them his early stories of being a pirate and the freedom therein... (dont tell garp)
luffy: do you know shanks? :D
buggy: THAT RED HAIR PUNK?!?!!?!?!?!? Do:<

what’s the girls relationship like with uncle (grandpa?) wayne?
yesss we love Grandpa Wayne 🥹
Wayne was actually the first person to know about Moe (and the only person, for a little while, because privacy is a big deal w/foster kids and the Party is notably god-awful at keeping things on the DL so Steve and Eddie didn’t loop everyone in until the adoption was complete).
Wayne was the first one to meet Moe, the first to hold her. Wayne proudly wrote the reference letter they’d needed as part of their home study to adopt her.
Wayne came up to Massachusetts from Indiana to take care of Moe while Steve and Eddie were in the NICU with Robbie.
Wayne was Eddie’s first call when Hazel was born.
When the girls are very little (toddlers/early elementary school) he’s still living in Indiana (he's in a silent feud with Hopper over who can stand to stay in Hawkins the longest). The feud only comes to an end because, when Steve’s dad passes in 2009, Eddie gets freaked out and basically insists that Wayne move closer to them.
Wayne isn’t even all that bummed about losing to Hop because it means he gets to spend more time with the grandkids. He absolutely rubs this in at any opportunity, and Hopper and Joyce make the move up north only a year or two later (Hop claims it was unrelated).
The girls adore him. He’s steady and reliable and always down for a good card game (he teaches them how to play poker just a little bit too young) and he shows up to every play and recital and all the important sports games, and he can roast their dad like nobody's business.
He has a particularly special bond with Hazel, who, like him, loves nature and being outside. They go birdwatching and fishing together (catch and release, obviously, because Hazel wouldn’t stand for anything else) and take day trips to nearby national parks and botanical gardens.
Hazel goes to Florida for college, pursuing a degree in zoology at one of the best programs in the country, and they joke that Wayne should be awarded an honorary BS with how much of her coursework Hazel relays to him (she calls him after practically every lecture). Eddie has to fight tooth and nail to keep him from moving back down to Florida to join her there.
