Hogwarts houses not as your defining trait but the way you survived your childhood — the way you coped with your trauma.
Ravenclaw is the book you buried your nose in as you put one foot in front of the other. They are the children who stayed under the bed with flashlights to catch the monster under the bed. They are the children who came to believe themselves to be monsters. Ravenclaw is a room where you store all the things you try to forget. It’s spending years trying to think your way out of that room. Its knowing the world is a vicious place and finding wonder in it anyways.
Slytherin is keeping your head down and your eyes open. It’s blood in your mouth and venom on your tongue. Slytherin is being sharp and precise and deadly as a snake because there’s no other way to survive. It’s knowing there’s no space for you in this world unless you’re willing to carve it out. They are the children who learned to bide their time. To wait for the perfect moment to strike. To go in for the kill. Slytherin is knowing there is no justice in this world unless you make it.
Gryffindor is a tightly clenched fist to keep your hands from shaking. Its children who used to hide under the bed. Children who swore they’d never let anyone make them afraid again. Gryffindor is raised eyebrows and hackles. It’s children who know fear like a second skin. They wrap themselves in it like a home. Gryffindor is digging your toes into the earth and widening your stance. It’s matching the lions predatory gaze with a challenge of your own and clenching your jaw so it doesn’t tremble.
Hufflepuff is a pair of trembling hands that hold on tight. It’s knowing that caring leads to betrayal and deciding to care anyways. It’s tear stains and heart strings boldly on display. It’s knowing life isn’t fair but choosing to try anyway. They are the children that know the world is cruel. They are the children that love it anyway.

History of Magic window
It's me! Back again with some harebrained theory about the most minute detail in this game!
And this time we are looking at the stained glass window in the History of Magic classroom:
Tumblr media
First of all, the obvious, what the 3 panels of the window represent (from right to left):
The first one is obviously the Hogwarts Founders, all holding or wearing their relic (cup, diadem, sword, locket). For a long while I wondered what that weird shape in the circle at the bottom was. I have since come to the conclusion that this represents the sorting hat (??). It is vaguely hat shaped and has the colors of the 4 houses. But honestly, I'm not sure. If anybody knows please tell me!
The second one is Merlin, it says so at the bottom.
The third one represents the International Warlock Convention of 1289. This is actually an easter egg. In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, chapter 9, Hermione interrupts Prof. Binns when he's in the middle of a lecture on the International Warlock Convention of 1289 to ask him about the chamber of secrets. The only thing we know about that convention is that a subcommittee of Sardinian sorcerers is involved (the exact quote from Binns is : "In September of that year, a subcommittee of Sardinian sorcerers -" and then Hermione interupts him again to ask another question 😂)
Apart from what is represented on it, what is remarkable about his window imo is that the flow of time is represented from right to left (the Founders came before Merlin, who came before 1289). In western culture, conventionally, time is represented from left to right, because that's the order in which you would naturally read. Also I think it's a convention for stained glass windows in churches to be read from left to right and bottom to top. But the 3 panels here are backwards.
Another thing remarkable to me is that there is very little in common between these 3 panels. Obviously the central figures represented are all different but, also, the embellishments and decorative elements placed around the central figures are all different.
For the panel about the Warlock Convention of 1289, the theme is time, with several hourglasses being represented. (The red hourglass creeps me out a bit because of the red drop you see falling makes me think of blood, like the passage of time is measured by the blood spilt...but anyway!)
For the Merlin's panel the theme is astrological, with the phases of the moon and stars. For the Founder's panel the theme is learning (with a book) and the Hog of Hogwarts. Very little ties the 3 panels together. Except one thing.
The way I see it, there is only one thing in common between those 3 panels and that's the rolled parchment that the International Warlocks are writing on, and that Merlin and Rowena are holding.
And if you look only at that scroll and nothing else, you would naturally infer that the 3 panels might tell the story of this scroll: in the first panel on the left the scroll is being written, then Merlin hold it and has his wand directed at it, like he is applying magic to it, or otherwise doing something to it. And then Rowena is just holding it. That would be the natural way to read the window: left to right and bottom to top. Except we know from the context that this is impossible since time flows in the other direction.
Tumblr media
So I wonder if there is a secret message in that window, that you should read from left to right and bottom to top (like you should normally read a stained glass window), that speaks about whatever law was passed at the International Warlock Convention of 1289 and how it relates to Merlin and the Founders.
We don't know much about the Warlock Convention. The only other tidbit I could find is that Ron tells Harry in the first book that dragon breeding was outlawed by the Warlock Convention of 1709 so we can deduct that this convention passes important laws for the worldwide wizarding community. Which law did they vote in 1289?
(Or maybe I'm just being crazy and reading too much into things!)

I don't know why there aren't more reincarnation fanfics, or maybe it's just me, I'm completely obsessed
But... The amount of stories that can be made.
In Harry Potter, the reincarnation of Lily Evans, or the four founders (which I have seen, especially with Harry being Salazar).
Bianca di angelo, chose reincarnation, is Canon. And a headcanon that is out there is that it is Estelle Blofis
Reincarnation of Padmé Amidala in Star Wars, protecting Luke and Leia and scolding Vader
Reincarnation of lucy gray baird, chasing snow until he goes crazy
Damn, it would be cool if Allison Argent was the reincarnation of Marie-Jeanne
And I'm sure there are more fandoms that I don't fall into.

Hp and Narnia fans I summon you to talk to you all.
Now I know we as a fandom have fancasted the Pevensie children as the founders of Hogwarts but what if we changed it a bit.
Now hear me out, we originally casted Peter Pevensie as Godric Gryffindor, Susan Pevensie as Rowena Ravenclaw, Edmund Pevensie as Salazar Slytherin, and Lucy Pevensie as Helga Hufflepuff and everyone either agreed or disagreed about their house placement.
But I think I shall bring a new idea forth. Allow me to introduce the idea
Lucinda "Lucy" Gryffindor, daughter of Godric Gryffindor
Edmund Ravenclaw, son of Rowena Ravenclaw and brother of Helena Ravenclaw
Susannah "Susan" Slytherin, daughter of Salazar Slytherin
And last but certainly not least
Peter Hufflepuff, son of Helga Hufflepuff
Think about this for a second.
The children of the founders of Hogwarts

✨ Blog Info ✨
Hello! My main account is @ace-aussie-asshole and I decided to make this account to give some attention to rarepairs of the Harry Potter Fandom. You can submit a request and I will get around to it as quickly as I can.
Basic Rules:
When making a request, give me the shipname, the characters involved, any headcanons you want to be included and a prompt (cuddling, mermaid au, coming out, first date etc.).
No hating on characters or ships in the comments.
The ship can be of any generation or subfandom, just let me know what age you want the characters to be in the fanart/fanfic.
I will be accepting light ships, grey ships and dark ships, and they will be tagged as such. So if you don’t want to see anything, block the tag.
If you do not provide me with specific headcanons pertaining to race, sexuality, gender identity, religion, appearance or disabilities, I will go with what we know in canon, or in the case of non-canon queer ships, a randomly selected sexuality.
Be specific when making requests.
This blog is specifically for rarepairs, and I will include most of the popular ships from unpopular subfandoms such as Legacy, Fantastic Beasts, Mystery and The Next Gen since very few people are a part of these fandoms compared to the Marauders and Golden Fandoms.
I will accept canon ships if they’re rarely discussed, but I will not accept canon ships that get a lot of attention.
If you would like to include character bashing in the prompt, such as an abusive scenario, I will use the anti tag for the character and an abusive tag for the ship.
If you request a Marauders or Golden ship I have not heard of, I will go through the tag and decide for myself whether it’s rare. This will be based on how few accounts make content, how many incorrect ships come up under the tag, how many fanfics it has on AO3 where it is the main focus and similar details.
If you request a popular ship or commonpair, your ask will simply be deleted and I will not respond to it, this blog is for rarepairs only.
I will NOT be writing/drawing smut.
Those are the ground rules. If you continually ignore these rules (repeatedly comment hate, keep requesting commonpairs etc.) you will be blocked. This blog is for ships that get very little attention, or no attention at all. Thank you.

Names of the Hogwarts Founders
The origins of their names (because it's fun)
Salazar Slytherin
Salazar, a surname of a noble family in Castile at the time
Slytherin, from Old English: Slideriend, "Slitherer". Likely a poetic way of saying "the Serpent".
Salazar was likely a nobleman from Castile. He settled in Hogwarts and took on apprentices. He gained the epithet "the Serpent" at some point while living in England / Scotland, perhaps while he was in the fens. We do not know his given name.
Rowena Ravenclaw
Rowena, likely coming from Hrö∂wyn. Latinised to either Ronwen, Renwein, and Romwenna. Meaning "famous spear" in Old English.
Ravenclaw, coming from the Old English Hræfnclawu.
Rowena has a very Old English set of names, so we can guess that she was English (despite canon saying she's from Scotland).
Helga Hufflepuff
Helga, coming from the Old Norse word heilagr, "blessed"
Hufflepuff, this one is trickier. I really couldn't find anything definitive for her name.
If the origin is Old English, it's probably "Húffǽlepyff". This combines three words in Old English. Huf "horned owl", fǽle "faithful, true, dear, good" and pyf "a short blast of wind". Thus meaning something like Wind of the Faithful Owl.
If the origin is Old Norse, it's more likely combining these elements: Hafli "(the name of a giant)" or Hafjall "high mountain" plus either pafi "pope" or paufi "lurker, lurking fiend". So, for example, Hafjallpaufi is Lurker of the High Mountain.
Hufflepuff is said to have come from Wales and while it's certainly possible her family settled in Wales, her name indicates they were originally Norse.
Godric Gryffindor
Godric, a straight forward first name. Old English name meaning "power of god".
Gryffindor, from Old Cornish: Grifuiddouer "[from the] lake / river of the prince". This one is a little complicated to explain. We know the location of Godric's Hollow. At the time, Cornish was spoken throught the West Country.
Old Cornish Grifuid and Old Welsh Grippiud would be Anglicised to Gryffyn or Latinised Griffinus.
Douer (later dowr) means "water, river, lake" in Old Cornish.
Therefore, this is a typographic surname. His name means, therefore Godric of Gryffindor (place).
Godric's surname confirms his origin as coming from the West Country, UK.

Ok, if all the founders are imaginary (not sure they are historical or not) then who constructed the chamber of secrets?
I don't think the founders exist.
Someone else or perhaps even multiple people.
Hogwarts is very strange in that it looks extremely planned, very new, and an oddly cohesive fortress that only has the aesthetics of a fortress and none of the realities one would expect from a castle.
The chamber is a bit of an exception though. It doesn't cleanly connect to the rest of the school, its entrance is highly obscured and can only be opened by those with a certain gene, and it's disconnected from the main castle itself.
This hints, as canon says actually, that it was built later.
We don't see much of the inside of the chamber, so it's hard to say, but I imagine multiple people could have worked on it. You have the main chamber Harry saw which is... very grandiose but kind of pointless, you have wherever the hell the basilisk is and whoever put a basilisk down there.
I don't think it has to be a single person and I imagine it was added to over time/someone stuffed a basilisk down there because they thought that was a great idea.
Over time, as its existence is increasingly rumored, you have this tale growing that Salazar Slytherin made it himself to store his basilisk because... Muggleborns.
Point is, just because it's built doesn't mean a guy named Salazar Slytherin had to do it.
