Sorry I’ve been a little out of touch; I’ve been tied up working on a new show, Gotham Knights, playing Harvey Dent who becomes the Batman supervillain, "Two-Face." The character gets progressively darker and more insane as the show progresses. (In fact, by the time we get to the season finale you will see that Harvey has become so maniacally evil that he’s basically indiscernible from my daily persona as the Misha you’ve come to know and fear over the years.)

If you missed the first couple of episodes, you can still catch up—it’s on The CW app and website. Then, you can watch new episodes every Tuesday on the CW at 9/8 central. Do me a favor? So yea, he's getting very desperate ad using all means at his disposal to try and drum up attention. However, anyone who gets those emails already has a pretty set opinion on him and GK so sending out an email to people who are already either his fans or his haters isn't going to get any more eyes on the show. But is does show his hand and the desperation there.

LOL! I saw a couple of posts about it yesterday, but seeing the actual text is... well... I don't quite know what to make of it.

On the one hand, begging is entirely unattractive and pathetic, and it's consistent with the way he begged for people to buy his poetry book.

On the other hand, Misha's putting more work each week into promoting the show than the Ackles did for the entire run of TW, so his pandering effort is unmatched.

But to your last paragraph, you're exactly right! He's not expanding the audience, he's just catering to his fans who are already watching. (And using his former charity account, which seems to me a conflict of interest... especially if he takes in any donations this tax year.)

Where I Stand (For Now)

It’s been an ugly week around D/s tumblr. I’ve been reading and trying to process.

I’ve done my best to read as much as I could about this topic. I have re-read all of the posts I could find at least once. Still, I have a gut feeling that I have somehow missed something. I saw where CherishedProperty stated that she feels like she has about 5 pieces of a 100 piece puzzle. I feel much the same way. I have seen the two blogs sharing information about this receive asks wanting more information or expressing confusion, and the responses are that the information is already out on the blogs. This is why despite feeling like I’m missing something, I‘ve decided to speak now rather than wait. However, I am absolutely open to changing my mind if I see information that I haven’t yet seen.

I’ve seen 144 accused of these specific behaviors:

Prioritizing his blog over his sub.

Not texting/calling his sub while “off grid” camping, without giving prior warning that he wouldn’t be in touch. The sub said after he got back he said he though he had told her he would be out of contact.

Asking his sub to be private about their relationship. The sub has stated she was okay with this at the time.

Responding to asks he would receive about littles by saying things like “I don’t know, I don’t do littles” while he was in a D/s relationship with a little.

Being married to someone else while having a sub. I have no idea if this is ethical non-monogamy or cheating.

I saw a screenshot of a DM where someone had basically asked what was going on with these accusations Dani has shared, where he responded that he thinks Dani is experiencing mania.

Sharing two of his friends’ very personal information with other people.

People on tumblr have tagged him and asked him to respond to these, and he hasn’t.

*Edit - a day or two after I posted this, 144 did make a statement.

My take is this....

I believe the specific accusations. I think these behaviors show that he has been dishonest, hypocritical and untrustworthy. I see the lack of communication with his sub as neglectful. It doesn’t sound like he was taking his responsibility to his sub seriously enough or prioritizing her enough.

I understand why his ex-sub, his old friends who have had their information shared with others, and others in the tumblr community are hurt, angry, or disappointed. I feel disappointed myself and I have never been close with 144.

What I don’t understand is the list of statements (the ones in italics). For example, “he is our Harvey Weinsein” and “this is our #metoo moment”. Harvey Weinstein is a serial rapist. #MeToo is about sexual assault, too. I have seen nobody say that 144 sexually assaulted them, so I don’t understand these statement being used in reference to what he stands accused of. I have also seen general statements about JD of OLK being abusive towards his sub Pip and I have seen nothing at all to back this up. I’m just feeling a pretty significant disconnect between the specific behaviors people have shared, vs the general statements being said about him. I haven’t seen information that supports the general statements.

If anyone has content that they think I may have missed, anything that supports the italicized statements or other misdeeds beyond what I listed in the first bulleted group, I would appreciate being sent links. My stance here isn’t set in stone, it’s just where I’m at with what I’ve seen so far.

“So, you’re telling me that Sam is currently on a murder spree because you couldn’t keep your powers to yourself?” Your blood is boiling. You knew it had been wrong of Musa to play around with people’s emotions. You had thought it when you saw her do it to Aisha, and you’d almost ripped her hand off when you saw her do it with Sam. But you’d held your tongue and now you are sorely regretting that decision.

“Not a murder spree, just Rosalind,” Musa says weakly, her eyes twinkling purple as she tries to gauge your feelings. But you’ve been around mind fairies long before you went to Alfea - you know how to keep them out.

“One person is bad enough, Musa! Sam isn’t a killer,” you exclaim, trying to stay in control of your own powers. Tiny sparks erupt from the tips of your fingers, so you clench them into fists.

“If he goes up against Rosalind, she’s not the one dying,” you say as you storm out of the suite. The banquet has already started when you arrive, but you know how Sam thinks. He’s not dumb enough to attack her directly. Or rather, you’re hoping he isn’t dumb enough to attack her directly. You can’t really be sure how Musa’s magic has affected his mind.

“Stupid mind fairies,” you mumble under your breath, as you head for the kitchens. He knows potions; poison would be an obvious choice. When you don’t spot him at first, you almost panic. Then you see the guard grab his arm, and you almost lose it.

“Sam, there you are! I told you, I’d come see you when I finished up here. You didn’t have to bring the potion with you.” At no point does your voice falter as you take his hand and intertwine your fingers with his.

“Sorry about that. We had a date later, but Sam just gets so excited when he tries new stuff, don’t you, love?” You squeeze his hand probably a bit too hard as you pray to whatever is out there that he’ll get it and play along.

“Right, sorry. I forgot when you finished so I figured I’d try and stop by,” he smiles, looking directly at you. Before anyone else sees the three of you, you look back to the guard and flutter your eyelashes.

“Sorry about that. I’m off now anyway, so I’ll take this little geek back to the greenhouse.” You’re holding your breath as you walk out with Sam in tow. Halfway to the greenhouse, Sam stops you and releases your hand. You try not to miss the warmth he offered.

“I guess I owe you a thank you.”

“I guess you do.” Clearly, all the rage hasn’t burnt away yet, and you’re standing in line of fire.

“Well, thanks. Now excuse me.” You step forward and grab hold of his arm. He cannot seriously be thinking about going back.

“You’ve already been caught once. Next time they’re probably not going to be as understanding about it!” you hiss, your heart almost beating out of your chest. You’ve always cared about Sam and when he first dated Musa, you’d been happy for him. They seemed so good together that you immediately packed away your own feelings. Now, you realize what a massive mistake you’d made back then by not fighting for Sam.

“Let go of me,” he says, venom dripping from every word.

“I’m not even playing here, Harvey. You take one more step towards the banquet and I will knock you out.” His foot hardly even leaves the ground before you let go of the electricity. The shock convulses his body for five excruciating moments before he drops to the floor. Then, you text the only person who’ll help you without asking any questions.

“Thank you for coming,” you sigh as he turns the corner.

“Do I even want to know?” You offer a half-hearted smile.

“No. You definitely don’t.” Together, you and Riven carry him back to the greenhouse where Mr. Harvey is waiting. None of you talk as you place Sam on a patient bed, but you watch all color leave Mr. Harvey’s face as Sam mutters Rosalind’s name. Riven holds the door open, and you’re quick to follow him outside.

“Listen, I don’t want to know what the hell I just helped you stop, but I’m not an idiot. And I heard the same thing as you did in there.”

“Riven, please. I’ll take care of it.” He hesitates for a moment before sighing.

“Don’t forget to take care of yourself in the process.” And then he’s gone, leaving you with the job of explaining everything to Mr. Harvey. After that’s done, you stay with Sam until he wakes up. You feel horrible about the bruises on his arm, but you tell yourself it was the only way to stop him.

“Hey crazy,” you whisper as he looks around.

“How did I get here? Did you stun me?” He tries to sit up, but you push him down easily. To be completely honest, you’re terrified of what he might do if he leaves this room.

“I did stun you, and you should be glad I did considering how you were acting.” Sam isn’t a murderer. But you’re not entirely sure his anger is entirely gone yet, so you can’t risk letting him out of your sight.

“Where’s Musa?” he asks, finally accepting the fact that he’s stuck with you.

“No idea, I haven’t talked to her. I wasn’t sure if you’d want to see her, so I figured I’d wait until you could decide for yourself.” You don’t mention her indiscretion even though you have a lot of opinions about her disregard for personal space.

“I don’t know. I mean, I know I have to at some point, but I don’t think I’m ready right now. Does that make me a horrible person?” He pulls at a loose thread on the bedding while avoiding any form of eye contact.

“No. It doesn’t. Your feelings are your own and entirely valid.” Neither of you speaks after that, but you stay with him until it gets dark and you have to return to your suite. Over the next few days, you spend all of your free time with Sam. You know Mr. Harvey is looking into other schools and it’s only a matter of time before he’ll find something. The clock is ticking, and you’re dreading the moment where you have to say goodbye. Unfortunately for you, the day arrives sooner than you’d thought.

“So, you’re leaving today.” Sam turns around with a few books in his hand, so you hand him the empty card box by the door.

“Yeah. It’s all happened very fast.” You keep quiet, but Sam must sense something’s off because he opens his arms, and you don’t hesitate as you walk right into his embrace. Your cheeks burn when he places a brief kiss on the top of your head. It’s not unusual as such. He was always affectionate with you before he started dating Musa, and now he’d restarted old traditions. But you still feel your heartbeat quicken.

“I want to go but there are also certain things I don’t want to leave behind.” Your lips part in surprise, but you keep quiet, afraid to assume anything. He just finished things with Musa the other day.

“I’m sure Terra will text you every day. I wouldn’t worry too much about leaving her,” you finally say in an attempt to lighten the mood.

“I wasn’t talking about Terra.” He pulls away to look into your eyes, and you struggle to keep your breath even.

“You’ve been my best friend for as long as I can remember. And I thought what I felt for you was normal to feel for your best friend. But after everything that’s happened, I’ve realized that how I feel about you is so much more than just appreciation for being my friend.” This is almost too good to be true. You’ve waited so long to hear those words from Sam, and now he’s standing in front of you, looking at you the way you’ve always looked at him. And he’s leaving...

“I know it’s horrible timing. But I couldn’t leave without at least telling you.” Instinct takes over when you start pushing him towards the bed, but he quickly catches up. For the first time in a long time, a real smile plays on his lips as you push him onto the mattress.

“You’ve no idea how long I’ve waited for this,” you whisper before closing the gap between you and him.

Afterwards, you lie wrapped up in each other on his tiny single, but you wouldn’t have it any other way. There’s a moment of pure bliss before the world refocuses and Mr. Harvey is banging on the door to let Sam know time is up.

“We’ll keep in touch, right?” he asks, holding you tightly in his arms. You nod already scared that the distance will be too much for you. However, Sam proves your fears wrong. He texts you - every day. Good morning, good night, how was your day? And it all makes you much him so much more. Enough for you to ask for a transfer. And when it goes through, you travel straight to the man you love.

“What are you doing here?” he asks surprised.

“Well, it’s my first day. I’m looking for someone to show me around.” When he realizes what you just said, he engulfs you in a rib-crushing hug. Yes, you were going to miss the girls and Alfea, but this moment right here? Made it all worth it.

Currently watching Rewatching "The Expanse" rn and im having a great time - this is a series that I began for the first time a looong time ago and it bored me, then two of my friends encouraged me to give it another try and i loved it :) I think it's one of my favourite shows right now it has 1) sci-fi shit 2) actual great female characters like im in love with every single woman in that show (well except for that pastor bc i dont respect her) 3) a lot of pretty interesting politics 4) beautiful cinematography !

Last film Little woods (2018) fell short imo and idk everyone is praising the performances but tbh i didn't like the way tessa thompson portrayed the character idk... it was an okay movie but i expected more

Currently reading: How much of these hills is gold by C Pam Zhang and i'm having a hard time with it tbh it's written with pretty heavy language, i don't know what's going on most of the time and i have to reread paragraphs to piece together what the characters are doing. the plot isn't very interesting too so i'll probably finish it just to get it over with eh

Whelp, I've gon don did it again, and had thoughts tangentially related to a serious post that were to complex for the tags, so I've gone and made my own post.

So, disclaimers

Mespyrian is not a Greek goddess contemporary to 'The Helenistic Period,' which is an anachronic era name applied by archeologist to the period of time around ~300~30BC¹.

She is a character created for some persons high school (or college ?) entry-level creative writing course which they then published to wattpad and it spread from there, as far as I'm aware of the origin. Anyone with clearer details feel free to provide them.

The nature of the origin of Mespyrian and the fact that people were being wrong and misinformed idiots on the internet when they started espousing her as Greek goddess contemporary to the helenistic period are not in dispute in this post. I'm not trying to goncharov mespyrian. Mespyrian goncharoved mespyrian before goncharov was a thing saavy.

What I am instead going to do is argue that she's more interesting to me than just 'people being wrong on the internet.' To do that, I need to establish what her story's core components were, as best I remember them because searching for anything on tumblr is like pulling teeth, and I'm caine-insensitive.

So Mespyrian.

The daughter of Persephone and Hades,

Pretty girl goddess who made aphrodite jealous

Aphrodite burned half her body with a comb and the sun somehow?

Now she's a split between two aspects

As a nurturing goddess who helps the victims of violence

and a vengeful goddess that punishes the perpetratosrs of violence in the afterlife.

That's it, that's the canon text, as best I can remember.

Now, to me, she looks a lot like Hel from Norse mythology. She's definitely NOT Hel; but you can see the idea of Hel in her if you squint yeah? A goddess of the afterlife, whose in a support group with Harvey Dent for characters who had half their body burnt in their origin story, and who punishes (forgive the christian undertones in the word) the damned of the dead. They're not singing the same song on it, but they are sharing the harpsichord.

This interpretation of Mespyrian as a mutated and transplanted variation on Hel (which is probably not what the author had in mind, but the author is dead and wrong anyway) makes Mespyrian an interesting case study into what a cross-pantheonic transplant might look like in the moment that it happens.

And her story-zero has some interesting things to say about the reinterpretation of mythological figures in later stories in and off itself, because Aphrodite ain't like that in any contemporary Greek myths I'm aware of. Like, maybe if she lost the golden apple instead of winning it, she'da been like that about it, but I'm not aware of any stories that characterize her as jealous of the beauty of another to the point of attempting to mar that other's beauty. It doesn't say something about Aphrodite so much as it says something about the process by which Aphrodite (and other gods) can take on new personal properties in later reinterpretation of their character.

She's more than just people being wrong on the internet; but that's just my opinion, man.

Also, as a goddess, she kinda slaps. Like yeah, she's a bit edgier than I'd personally worship; but, a goddess of trauma who's kind to victims and cruel to victimizers with a deliciously ironic black and white motif to accent the black-white mentality people like have about this despite how nuanced victimhood as an institution and experience is. There's something there worth worshipping.

No: She's not contemporary to the helenistic era's Greecian pantheon; but, she slaps the same.

Tumblr is obsessed with the mafia film “Goncharov.” The problem is it isn’t real.

Tumblr cinephiles have a new favorite movie this week. It’s decades old, so maybe you’ve already seen it. It is called “Goncharov” and stars Robert DeNiro in the titular role as a Russian hit man and former discothèque owner. It takes place in Naples, Italy. Cybill Shepherd plays his wife, Katya, and rounding out the cast are Al Pacino, Gene Hackman and Harvey Keitel.

The 1973 film, billed as “Martin Scorsese presents,” has everything: murder, a love triangle, homoerotic undertones, a striking original score and a dramatic final scene that film buffs have been debating for years.

There’s only one other thing to know about “Goncharov.” It does not exist.

The story of Tumblr’s beloved fake film began with a shoe. Several years ago, a Tumblr user posted a photo of a pair of “knockoff boots” they ordered online that arrived with a strange tag. “The greatest mafia movie ever made,” read the top line. “Martin Scorsese presents GONCHAROV.” “Domenico Proccacci production,” it continued. “A film by Matteo JWHJ0715.” “About the Naples Mafia,” read the final line. (The user’s Tumblr is no longer active and attempts to reach the user were unsuccessful.)

In August 2020, Aveline McEntire, a college student in Missouri, reblogged the image on her personal Tumblr after seeing it on a friend’s page.

Ms. McEntire added an additional image to her reblog, a screenshot of a comment from a third Tumblr user, reading, “this idiot hasn’t seen goncharov.” Ms. McEntire, 20, had not thought much about the post until recently when it suddenly started gaining popularity, with tens of thousands of people beginning to reblog it earlier in November.

As of Monday evening “Goncharov” was the No. 1 trending topic on the platform, with Mr. Scorsese taking the second spot. Pokémon was in third.

Even Tumblr has gotten in on the act. “Goncharov” was ahead of its time “and it’s contribution to cinema is remarkable,” the platform tweeted on Sunday from its official account. “Rarely does a film tell as many diverse-yet-interconnected stories. Hard to imagine so few ppl have seen it.”

On Tumblr, users have created an entire universe to support the idea that “Goncharov” is real. A poster for the film, riddled with bullet holes and crediting Matteo JWHJ0715 as the director of the “greatest mafia movie (n)ever made,” was created by Alex Korotchuk, a 20-year-old-artist in Prague, who said 50 people have placed orders to buy a print version of the poster. Alix Latta, a 25-year-old music teacher in Indiana, composed a theme song — a waltz inspired by the theme from “The Godfather.”

There are Tumblr posts full of lore about the film and vivid details about the plot, including stills and GIFs pulled from other films and TV shows being repurposed as scenes from “Goncharov.”

“It’s essentially a Russian gangster coming to Naples, and it’s a long story about his eventual downfall and betrayal by everyone in his life,” said Erika Paulson, 27. “To quote one of the posts that’s been going around, it’s him coming to Naples to try and escape his life of violence.”

A frequent Tumblr user, Mx. Paulson, who lives in Philadelphia, remembered seeing the “Goncharov” boots years ago and was excited to contribute to the story, posting several pictures of a cat, now known by some on Tumblr as Patchka, with the caption, “anyway i think we all know who the true best character in Goncharov (1973) is.” People have pointed out the cat could be another nod to “The Godfather,” but Mx. Paulson was inspired by street cats spotted on a trip to Rome. “What’s a gangster movie without a cat?”

Lynda Carter got in on it too on her Tumblr. The “Wonder Woman” star posted two black-and-white photos of herself and Henry Winkler captioned, “Me and ‘The Fonz’ at premiere of Goncharov(1973) at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.” The image is actually a photo of the two actors at the 1977 Golden Globe Awards. A representative for the movie reviewing platform Letterboxd said it had removed multiple user reviews of the fake flick.

Elena Asofsky, 23, initially fell for the mythmaking. “I start asking my roommates. I’m like, ‘Hey, have you heard about this ‘Goncharov’ thing? What is this? Can we get in on it?’ And my roommate’s like, ‘I know, it’s fake. It’s all not real.’” Since then, Ms. Asofsky, a substitute teacher and illustrator in Columbus, Ohio, has been making fan art inspired by the imaginary movie.

Mx. Paulson pointed out Tumblr users have a rich history of this very particular brand of creativity, recalling how users several years ago created a similarly real fandom for “Squiddles,” a fictional TV show within the universe of the web comic “Homestuck.” But for some Tumblr users, it can be frustrating to be on the outside of inside jokes when other users refuse to cave and admit the thing they are talking about isn’t real.

That’s not what’s happening with “Goncharov” though, according to Dani Mays, an illustration student in Kansas City, Mo. “When that happens, it feels like they’re laughing at your expense, watching you get increasingly frustrated at the dissonance and taking that frustration as part of the bit, turning you into part of the punchline,” Ms. Mays, 24, wrote in a popular post on Tumblr. “I’m not seeing any of that with Goncharov, at least as far as the more popular users participating in it.”

“The fact that people are so willing to break the joke long enough to tell people what’s going on and then bring people into the fold, so to speak, is nice,” Ms. Mays added in a phone interview with The Times.

How the title “Goncharov” came to be on the boot’s tag in the first place continues to be a mystery. Michael Littrell, a musician from Minneapolis, has a theory. After seeing the boots floating around Tumblr for years, Mr. Littrell, who studied journalism in college, started investigating in October and eventually came across an Italian producer named Domenico Procacci. (The same producer named by the boots.) From there, he connected the dots to a 2008 film called “Gomorrah,” about Italian organized crime.

Mr. Scorsese was not the director, but according to Mr. Littrell, 24, and a years-old story from The Hollywood Reporter, “Gomorrah” had a presentation credit from the famed director when it arrived in the United States.

A poster Mr. Littrell found in his search reads “Martin Scorsese Presents” at the top and is stylized much the same as the boots’ label, with Mr. Scorsese’s name in red and the title of the film in capitalized black letters. The director of “Gomorrah” is Matteo Garrone. Who shares a first name with Matteo JWHJ0715.

A tagline proclaims “Gomorrah” to be “BASED ON THE BEST SELLING EXPOSÉ BY ROBERTO SAVIANO ABOUT THE NAPLES MAFIA.” Details that bear a striking similarity to the boots that started this whole saga.

“I really want Scorsese to see this and maybe make Goncharov,” reads a reply on Mr. Littrell’s Tumblr post documenting his findings.

hello fellow cinema appreciators. there's now a new york times article about Goncharov (1973). since they can be a bit temperamental regarding free articles, I'll paste the text below!

The Fake Scorsese Film You Haven’t Seen. Or Have You?

Tumblr is obsessed with the mafia film “Goncharov.” The problem is it isn’t real.

There’s only one other thing to know about “Goncharov.” It does not exist.

In August 2020, Aveline McEntire, a college student in Missouri, reblogged the image on her personal Tumblr after seeing it on a friend’s page.

As of Monday evening “Goncharov” was the No. 1 trending topic on the platform, with Mr. Scorsese taking the second spot. Pokémon was in third.

There are Tumblr posts full of lore about the film and vivid details about the plot, including stills and GIFs pulled from other films and TV shows being repurposed as scenes from “Goncharov.”

Lynda Carter got in on it too on her Tumblr. The “Wonder Woman” star posted two black-and-white photos of herself and Henry Winkler captioned, “Me and ‘The Fonz’ at premiere of Goncharov (1973) at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.” The image is actually a photo of the two actors at the 1977 Golden Globe Awards. A representative for the movie reviewing platform Letterboxd said it had removed multiple user reviews of the fake flick.

“I really want Scorsese to see this and maybe make Goncharov,” reads a reply on Mr. Littrell’s Tumblr post documenting his findings.

You've got Assassins but it's a Six-style musical (by yours truly), Assassins Fight Club, and even Assassins dating sim.

Meet Assassins the historical RPG first-person or third-person shooter game. Think historical and sort of fantastical Fallout New Vegas (cause it's the only similar game I've played). Or Assassins Creed (the game that keeps invading the tags)? Or Hitman.

Main game mechanics

You start a few days before the assassination

Planning the assassination

stealth/speech/other skill checks

Buying items

Minor crafting elements

Mini games (shooting booth to practice, lockpicking, stock books as Lee, wind wires/put away bottles as Leon)

Interactions with citizens, learning historical facts by clicking on highlighted text/meeting historical figures that make the game educational as to convince people we do not condone assassination

choosing to go through it/or not/different time and location affects your ending

you can try to escape after you shoot. It's quite hard though.

The four main levels, featuring the successful assassins:

John Wilkes Booth

We start with him monologuing to David Herold and the other members in the conspiracy about how Lincoln destroyed the South, that's why they're killing him and a bunch of other people

So this is pretty much a scheming strategy level, planning locations, dates, job allocations. Building relationships with your teammates causes your plan to be more likely to succeed. Convincing the guards to let you through. Depending on your route you may get extra scenes with the doctor or in the barn.

High charisma, lots of money.

Charles Guiteau

Uhh no idea. This is a weird level because he's weird. Funny visuals I guess. Think Wild Wasteland from FNV.

His stats are pretty shit but he has the element of surprise

Leon Czolgosz

You could try to kill McKinley at the speech event at the Pan American Exposition days before the actual date. He tried to, but there was too many people. This makes a good achievement. You get to visit the fair. Emma Goldman flashback.

Low money, low charisma, high stealth.

Lee Harvey Oswald

The sniper level. You can try to dodge the bullet by Jack Ruby (not sure if he could).

High stealth, high accuracy.

If you end the level the canonical way, you get a slide talking about that event. It's after the ending slide that talks about what happened next.

If we're basing it on the musical, the Proprietor's going to give you tips and walk you through the tutorial. The balladeer may appear and try to dissuade you from assassination. If you die or get caught, he's going to be super disappointed/mock you/idk and sing a song. Also you get to hang out in the carnival.

If you save Oswald for last, you get Another National Anthem and the Oswald level is replaced with the book depository scene.

After you finish all the levels for the first time. you can play as cops/spies trying to stop the assassination.

Also creative mode where you get access all the guns and modern weaponry. Machine guns anyone?

DLC: Adds Richard Lawrence, John Schrank, and Griselio Torresola and Oscar Collazo.

Bonus: you're the CIA and you're killing JFK and blaming Oswald.

Wip tag game

Tagged by @imsupposedtobewritting for this wip tag game…. And first how dare you! (Affectionate) Yes I am shamed by the length of this list! I am adding a few bonus gifs just to break up the text blocks a bit.

Pro tip: If you want me to work on something listed below my muse really does respond to feedback/comments/gifs/meta posts/stimulation. Make of that what you will.

Family, Familia, ‘Ohana (911/H5O/SWAT, Buddie, McDanno, platonic Deacon/Hondo). I’ve got a chapter title for the next one—SNAFU—and the following one after that—FUBAR. That pretty much sums up a lot of things there. i’ve been working very non-linearly here and have a lot of the plot figured out as well as which beats to hit… now just the execution of said plan. Mostly the muse has been chewing on the penultimate chapter and final chapter a lot more than what is currently going on. I’ll make the muse behave eventually but it’s getting a break on this one since I updated just a little bit ago. (Don’t look at me like that Danno!)

A New Version of Foreplay, Chapter two/final chapter (911, Buddie) I really just have the smut to write and the muse hasn’t been playing ball here. It’ll happen eventually but just probably not this week. We know where we’re going here and all—Just need the Buck and Eddie part of my muse to cooperate.

Death Rebirth and the Jackal (Mass Effect Andromeda, The Mummy (1999 movie trilogy) with heavy influences from Moon Knight, American Gods and Egyptian history/mythology, MReyder). I’ve got this vaguely on the every month posting schedule rotation so expect a chapter a month—possibly more often depending on how much writing time I get (fall is getting overscheduled right into February so don’t hold your breath).

To Follow (Mass Effect all media types, MReyder, MShenko—sequel/alternative perspective of one-shot Seguir, Pre-Andromeda meeting/relationship). The muse has been chewing on the plot for this like a week old newspaper. The paper has gotten beyond soggy and I’m going to be cleaning up plot points for a bit but I’m starting to get a really clear picture of how to work things. Probably getting a new chapter in the next six weeks or so. Just need to get in the really angsty headspace first and have it not be stolen by Eddie Diaz.

Reinventing Scott (Mass Effect Andromeda, MReyder) ah my what-if-Cora-really-was-pissed-about-not-being-pathfinder fic and we took a left turn at Eos that ended up with Scott and Reyes running into each other much earlier. It was kinda on the back burner but i’ve been mulling over a few plot points the last two weeks so also prolly getting something in the next month or so but not on the official update rotation—yet.

Promise Me You Won’t Let Me (Wheel of Time, Cauthor). Is officially on the try-to-update monthly rotation. I want to finish this before the second season starts airing. If you’ve been reading and have watched the first season you know this is going to all end in tragedy and blow up in Rand’s and Mat’s face. Might possibly be the most painfully angst ridden thing I’ve written. I hope the show runners give me a reason to write a sequel of them pining angrily at each other from afar in the second season. Sorry Rand—there’s going to be a lot of whump in both Mat’s and your immediate future.

To Catch A Fallen Star (Teen Wolf and Stardust Mashup, Sterek and others) I seem to have caught a fusion/mashup vibe with Jackal and it continues here. Prologue is posted and I’m planning on monthly-ish updates. Have a pretty good roadmap worked out so it’s just a matter of having time and energy to stay on top of. I mean Stiles is Tristan and Derek’s Yvaine. What could go wrong? Oh yeah and Peter is totally Septimus while Scott is going to be Bernard.

Cousin Harvey (Moon Knight and Suits Crossover, Marvey, it’s complicated for Marc and Steven but it’s not sexual) Nothing yeeted yet as this is going to be a one-shot I s2g. I mean what are Marc and Steven doing in Nebraska? Harvey’s got the bail money. This is going to possibly be totally crack-y (What am I saying? It’s totally crack).

The Outlaw and the Cartel Boss (Mayans MC, Miguel/EZ, Angel/Adelita, Angel/Coco, Sentinel/Guide AU). I had this on the back burner because it’s long and when I do work on it it’s never usually on the NEXT chapter but on other things but my mood at work slid into Miguel’s headspace so now it’s gotten it’s running shoes back on. Roughly planning every-other-month to monthly updates until done as these chapters tend to be closer to FFO updates rather than 3-5k. I just can’t leave Sentinel/Guide AUs alone and Danny Pino and JD Pardo are just too damned pretty of men. Also KJ IS NOT DYING HERE! fwiw this is completely AU of the tv series (off the reservation so to speak) so if you want to read just pull up the wiki entries and you’ll be good to go. Don’t look so pleased with yourself Miguel *grumbles*

Firefighter Derek Series (linked one-shots, Teen Wolf, eventual Sterek). I’ve gotten a bit written on Papa Stillinski’s POV one shot so most likely will get this done sometime this fall. Also have a pretty clear view of Connie the Librarian’s one shot which will be on the shorter side. Expect these to randomly get yeeted if the muse gets in the mood. The Stiles and more of Derek’s POV ones the muse is doing a good impression of the witches from Macbeth with (double, double toill and trouble and all).

Pieces that are currently simmering on the back burner—meaning that I’m not considering them abandoned and do tweak/write a bit/plot about them. They’ll get done EVENTUALLY. I never put something out that I don’t plan on finishing even if it’s six or seven years later….again feed the muse people. A few of these got started for MReyder week and I hate to think that sort of deadline is what it might take to make me shove something out the door chapter-wise.

Untitled Westworld Fic—what if Reyes was a Host? And um… yeah. Scott is TRAUMATIZED okay? Yes I have maybe 20k written….

Untitled MReyder firefighter AU. Well Scott’s a firefighter. Reyes is an undercover police officer. Things get interesting. Random scenes outlined/written. Yes it’s partly smut that’s written damnit

Mreyder medical AU for @radio-chatter you’ll get this eventually. I’ve got too many thoughts but they’re completely disorganized. Mostly Scott and Reyes need to sync their on call schedule so they can actually get some sleep.

What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve? ah the holiday fic that I swear I’m going to finish every December and yet still haven’t quite finished it two years later. maybe this year is the year…..it’s… half-done?

Recurrence. Every time I re-read my favorite book of all time Dark Matter by Blake Crouch I work on this. Eventually will get done. I just can’t leave the idea to die. So it gets worked on once a year and gets about ten pages added which are never the actual NEXT chapter.

Mafia AU. I have this very clear picture of Scott sitting in a hospital waiting room, hasn’t slept in days, drinking terrible coffee at 3AM and trying not to notice how Reyes’ blood is still visible under his fingernails despite how much he’s scrubbed them. Reyes’ uncle shows up and it’s like being doused in an icy river how much he realizes he doesn’t know about Reyes’ life. Non-linear narrative. Scott is maybe a firefighter in this too or maybe he’s a cop—something public service. Reyes makes a decision to protect Scott which means he has to give up everything—but he’ll do it if it keeps Scott safe.

911 stuff

Buddie Rear Window—more idea than fully formed. Might be a spooky season fic might not. Depends on how hard this plot idea sticks around. Currently not actively being written. Buck is Jimmy Stewart. Eddie is Grace Kelly. Carla is totally Buck’s housekeeper. Athena is a very much not impressed Detective.

Sentinel Guide follow up one shots. Got ideas but not actively being worked on. May randomly get one shots yeeted out on this if the muse bites hard enough.

Might revisit the werewolf fic for a sequel for spooky season. Might just be more sexytimes one-shot.

SWAT

Deacon/Hondo side story/sequel to FFO. When this finally get’s written it’s going to be a tear jerker and deal with non-canon death of Deacon’s wife and the resulting fallout—grief, healing, love etc. This has been hanging around my brain for the better part of a year so it’ll eventually get written but not until FFO is done. Will be completely AU from the SWAT series at that point.

Edit: i totally forgot Bradley the Damned!!! Um yeah. It’s my Generation Kill Bradnate time bending immortal fic. Yeah. On the back burner because it tend to write it during spooky season. Prolly getting an update in the next two months?

Rust Compiler Performance Triage

A mixed week, with some nice wins, but also at least two PR's that were subsequently reverted, such as the upgrade to LLVM 16. We do want to note PR #108944, which cut down on crate metadata, binary sizes, and was an overall win on execution time for many benchmarks.

The generated program is a random sequence of bytes that just happens to take the shape of a seemingly working program by accident. Such is the joy of code that causes UB. You cannot deduce anything from what happens when you execute a program with UB, since that act is by itself meaningless. You need to establish that your program has no UB before making any inference based on what you see the program do after it came out of the compiler.
