Baji grins as he turns the dial on the stereo, turning the volume up even higher. A sound of protest is drowned out, the song overlapping any disagreements. A loud whoop! is heard, followed by a splash as Mikey cannonballs into the pool.
You shake your head with a small laugh as Draken waves his spatula in the air, frown on his face. The sunscreen bottle in your hand is more than half empty, slowly falling into your open palm. Cold, soft hands land on your bare shoulders, them jolting and stiffening in response.
"Sorry," Mitsuya grins at you, raising his hands. He points to the bottle in your hand, "want me to get your back? Ken's got the grill covered for now."
You nod, handing him the bottle. "Sure. Thanks, 'suya."
His grin widens, "no problem." You turn, bare back facing the lilac-hiared boy as he lathers his hands in sunscreen. You jolt, the cream ice cold and frigid as it glides onto your skin. You can feel Mitsuya's laugh as his breath hits your neck. "S'a little cold, hm, [name]?"
Letting out a huff, you stare at him over your shoulder, "yeah, a little." Mitsuya only winks in response as his hands lower to your waist. "Think I can handle it from here—"
"[Name]." Chifuyu is suddenly in front of you as he frowns. Green eyes narrow at the boy over your shoulder — you curl your lips into your mouth to stop your laughter. "Can you put that on me when you're done?"
"I don't mind doing it." But, Chifuyu ignores Mitsuya, eyes widening at you in an attempt to look innocent. Another laugh is huffed against your neck, fingers trailing around your waist until they're on your torso. "[Name]'s busy."
"Doing what?"
You clear your throat — another useless attempt to hide your amusement. "Here," you reach a hand back to Mitsuya, "I'll put some sunscreen on you while Mitusya finishes up. Alright?"
Chifuyu frowns again, but turns his back to you anyways. You lather the sunscreen into your hands, hoping to warm it up a little before putting it on him. Mitsuya laughs again — closer this time — before placing a small kiss to your shoulder.
"I'm going to help Draken out," he speaks. Chifuyu's shoulders relax at the words, moving with your hands as he's slathered with sunscreen. "Be back soon. ...Maybe tell Mitchy to get out of the sun."
The green-eyed boy turns to face you, eyes scrunching as you layer cream onto his face. He watches Mitsuya leave, "don't rush back."
You tap his nose, "don't be mean." You look to the left, where Takemichi is laying out, snoring as he slowly roasts. His skin is already reddened, tender to the touch as his sunburn worsens. "Mitchy! Lookin' lobster-like, bud!"
The blond startles, sunglasses falling to the side as he sits up. "Ack!" he lets out at the color of his skin. Big, comical tears well up in his eyes, "I look like a giant strawberry!"
Baji — ignoring everything around him other than the sound of his favorite song — slaps the blond on his back. "Lookin' good, Mitchy!"
Another whine leaves Takemichi's throat at the feeling. You let out a sigh, lightly tapping Chifuyu's shoulders. "You're all covered, 'Fuyu. Baji, be careful with Mitchy's skin, okay?"
Emma waves you over as she leans against the pool wall. You sit with your legs in the water, smiling down at her. She pouts, "Mikey won't stop splashing me."
You shake your head playfully, "Mikey, be nice to your sister."
"She doesn't play mermaids right."
Emma spins to face him, frown deepening. "You don't play right!" She crosses her arms over her chest, "you keep copying me."
Mikey shrugs, sitting on the steps of the pool as he swings his legs together, mimicking a mermaid tail. "Your ideas are better than mine. But, I want a purple to blue glitter tail and water powers."
Emma groaned, "I wanted water powers! You wanted to talk to animals."
Mitsuya comes to sit beside you, a bag of chips in his hand. He holds the bag out to you, eyeing Mikey and Emma. "You can both have water powers, right?"
"Then it's not fun anymore." Mikey turns his head with a pout. Emma lets out a sigh, rolling her eyes before swimming off. Mikey looks at you once more, "food almost done?"
"Only a few more minutes!" Smiley calls from the yard. He's helping Draken grill as Angry holds an aluminum pan for the cooked food to go in. "Go ahead and get dried off."
——♥︎——
"Baji Keisuke," you speak between teeth, "do not play in the fire like that."
The boy scowls, putting the tiny stick he'd picked up back to the ground. Draken sighs as he manages the fire, shaking his head at Mikey's marshmallow covered cheeks. Takemichi winces with every move he makes, his sunburnt skin aching and burning with the movement.
Mitsuya had gone home to care for his sisters ; Emma leaving to wash the chlorine out of her hair. Angry hands you a new marshmallow, holding a small piece of chocolate for you next. Smiley is across the fire, trying to take the designated fire stick from Draken.
"Hey," Chifuyu sits to your right, draping a blanket over your lap. "If you get any colder let me know, okay?"
You nod, taking the fully made s'more from Angry. As you bite into the sweet, you watch as Baji burns the marshmallow he has before handing it to Smiley. Mikey swoops in, though, eating the piping hot sweet directly from the stick.
"Mikey—" Draken lets out another sigh, shaking his head.

It had been hours since you’d all fled the CDC. You kept replaying everything in your mind, from Lori and Shane to Jacqui staying behind. Things had never felt more bleak than they did right now.
“Looks complicated.” Andrea spoke, sitting at the table in the RV.
Shane sat across from her, cleaning his gun. “The trick is getting all these pieces back together the same way. I could clean yours. Show you how.”
Andrea smiled, handing him her gun.
“Oh yeah.” Shane smiled. “It’s a sweet piece.”
“It was a gift from my father.” Andrea responded.
You stared at Shane, your eyes narrowing as you tuned out Andrea. Seeing him carry on like normal, as if he’d done nothing wrong, made your blood boil. As if he didn’t know you knew; as if he didn’t know you saw it.
“Oh jeez.” Dale’s voice caught your attention. “Do you see a way through?”
You stood up, heading to the front of the RV. Dale was in the driver's seat while Glenn sat in the passenger’s seat. Ahead of you were hundreds of cars, abandoned throughout the highway. Many cars’ doors were open, the occupants probably having fled in a hurry.
Glenn frowned. “Maybe we should just go back? There’s an interstate bypass-“
Dale shook his head. “We can’t spare the fuel.”
You pointed to a narrow open space. “Can we get through there?”
As the words left your lips, smoke began leaking out of the front of the RV.
“Didn’t I say it?” Dale shook his head. “I said it a thousand times.”
Shane appeared at your side. “Is there a problem, Dale?”
Dale stopped the RV. “Oh, just a small problem of being stuck in the middle of nowhere with no hope of-“ he paused, looking around. “Okay, that was dumb.”
“Is it the hose again?” You asked.
“Most likely.”
You all piled off the RV, meeting with the others who had driven behind you.
“Think you can find a radiator hose here?” Shane questioned.
“Definitely.” Dale nodded.
“There’s a whole bunch of stuff we can find.” Daryl pointed out.
You nodded. “We can siphon some fuel from these cars, for starters.”
“Maybe find some water.” Carol added.
Glenn nodded. “Or food.”
“This is a graveyard.” Lori spoke up. “I just don’t know how to feel about this.”
You let out a low sigh. “Now’s not the time to have a conscience. We’re tired, thirsty and hungry. They’re dead.”
Everyone stared at you for a moment, the coldness of your words catching them off guard. Not Daryl, though. You knew he was probably thinking the same thing anyways.
“We should split up, cover more ground.” He mumbled, walking away from the group.
Before anyone could respond, you jogged off to catch up to him.
“Have you given any more thought to sticking around?” You asked, your voice hushed.
“I’m here, ain’t I?” He huffed.
“You are, for now at least.” You responded.
He stopped for a moment. “Do you really care if I go?”
You looked in his eyes, a half smile forming across your lips. “Of course I do. You’re one of the only people I can stand these days.”
Daryl fought himself, trying not to smile but ultimately failing. There was a lightness between the two of you that you’d never felt before. When you were with him, everything that was bothering you seemed to fade away.
Your eyes shifted to the car next to you. “Think there’s anything good in there?”
Daryl turned, reaching for the door handle. “Only one way to find out.”
You pulled out your knife, prepared for any unwelcome surprises. You nodded for Daryl to open the door, and he did just that. Thankfully, the car was free of any dead.
Placing your knife back in its place on your hip, you climbed inside the car. You opened the glovebox, finding a few granola bars inside.
“Can you pass me the bag?” You asked, and Daryl compiled before opening the backseat.
Next, you opened the center console letting out a small chuckle.
“Anything good?” Daryl asked, looking over.
You picked up a small handgun, holding it up. “Not exactly where I expected to find one of these.”
“Any rounds?”
You checked the gun, finding all six rounds. “It’s fully loaded. Doesn’t look like there’s any extra bullets though.”
You peered out the window, your smiling fading as your face went pale. Daryl took notice, looking up as well. There were dozens of walkers headed your way, coming from the direction you’d left the RV in earlier.
“Shit.” Daryl huffed, climbing out of the car.
You followed suit, both of you closing the doors quietly as you crouched down. Somewhere behind you, you heard the panicked mumbling of one of your friends. You and Daryl both rushed over, still crouched to avoid bringing any attention to you.
A few rows of cars over, you found T-Dog who was bleeding from a large cut on his arm. You and Daryl quickly took out the walkers surrounding him, with Daryl tossing one over T-Dog and whispering for him to be quiet. Daryl grabbed a body from one of the cars as you laid down, him tossing it over you. Then, he used one of the walkers you’d just killed to cover himself.
Seconds later, the walkers had caught up to you, slowly making their way through the space the three of you were in. You could feel your heart racing, unsure if Daryl’s strategy would work. Closing your eyes, all you could hear was the shuffling feet of the dead. Thoughts of your friends and family filled your head, beginning to worry if they’d managed to hide in time too. You tried to tell yourself that you hadn’t heard screams, but no amount of rationalization was helping.
Finally the footsteps subsided and you opened your eyes. Daryl threw the corpse off of himself, rushing over to help T-Dog. You did the same, putting pressure on the cloth Daryl placed over his cut.
“It’s bad.” T-Dog gasped.
You shook your head. “You’ll be okay, we just have to get you back to the RV.”
As the words left your mouth, screams filled the air. They were coming from the direction of the RV. You looked at Daryl, fear present across your face.
“I got him, go.” Daryl assured you.
Not wasting another moment, you stood up and raced towards the RV, the newfound gun still in your hand. When you arrived, you quickly noticed Sophia sliding down the hill and into the ditch with two walkers following her. Rick was close behind, chasing them into the woods with a rifle in hand.
Carol pulled herself out from under one of the cars, running towards the highway barrier. She was sobbing, barely able to get her panicked words out as everyone gathered around her.
“Lori, there’s two walkers after my baby.” She cried, placing her hand over her mouth.
Lori held her, looking over at you. You didn’t know what to say, your body frozen in its place. Rick was already well out of view and you knew that if you went after them, you’d just get lost at this point.
All you could do now was pray they both made it back safely.
“You sure this is the spot?” Daryl asked, looking into a small hole by the creek.
“I left her right here,” Rick nodded. “I drew the walkers way off that direction up the creek.”
Rick had made it back to the group a bit earlier, Sophia never having returned. He led a few of you to where he’d left her, believing she’d stayed there while Rick dealt with the walkers.
“Without a paddle– seems where we’ve landed.” Daryl responded.
“She was gone by the time I got back here. I figured she’d just taken off and ran back to the group. I told her to go that way and keep the sun on her left shoulder.” Rick pointed in the direction you all came from.
“Assuming she knows her left from right.” Shane sighed.
“Shane, she understood me fine.” Rick argued.
Shane shook his head. “The kid’s tired and scared, man. She had a close call with two walkers. You gotta wonder how much of what you said stuck.”
“I’ve got clear prints right here.” Daryl spoke, pointing to the ground leading up from the creek. “She did what you said, headed back to the highway.”
“What the hell happened from here to there?” You whispered.
Rick shook his head. “Maybe she got nervous, hid somewhere else along the way.”
“Let’s spread out, make our way back.” Daryl said.
Shane nodded, helping Rick up the hill. “Hey, we’re gonna find her.”
Rick nodded, walking past Shane.
Shane held his hand out for you. You stared at him for a moment before finally relenting and taking his hand, allowing him to pull you up. The two of you caught up with the others, Daryl kneeling down.
“She was doing fine until right here.” Daryl spoke. “All she had to do was keep going, but she veered off that way.”
“Why would she do that?” Glenn asked.
“Maybe she saw something that scared her, made her run off.” Shane suggested.
“A walker?”
Daryl shook his head. “I don’t see any other footprints.”
“What do we do then? All of us press on?” Shane asked.
“No, it’s better if you and Glenn go back to the highway.” Rick spoke. “People are going to start panicking. Let them know we’re on her trail doing everything we can, but most of all keep everyone calm.”
Shane nodded. “I’ll keep ‘em busy scavenging cars.”
Shane waved for Glenn to follow him, and Rick turned to you. “You should go back with them. It’s probably safer there, and it’s getting dark.”
You shook your head. “I’d rather stick with you and Daryl.”
Rick nodded and Daryl began to lead you further into the woods. It was a while before you noticed the footprints slowly disappearing.
“The tracks are gone.” Rick sighed.
“No, they’re faint but they ain’t gone.” Daryl responded. “She came through here.”
“How can you tell?” You asked. “All I see is dirt and grass.”
“You want a lesson in tracking or you wanna find that little girl?” Daryl asked, his eyes still focused on the ground.
Daryl continued to lead you both further, before rustling in the bushes caught your attention. He signaled for three of you two split off, using Rick as a distraction while Daryl shot a lone walker. Daryl joined you both at the walker, removing his bolt and calling out for Sophia.
Rick knelt down, pulling out gloves and placing them on his hands. He then held up the walker’s hand, inspecting it closely.
“What are you looking for?” Daryl asked.
“Skin under the fingernails.” Rick responded, dropping the hand and inspecting the walker’s teeth. “He fed recently, there’s flesh between his teeth.”
“What kind of flesh?” You asked.
Rick sighed, pulling out his knife. “There’s only one way to find out.”
He ripped open the walker’s shirt, positioning his knife on its stomach. Daryl shook his head, placing a hand on Rick’s shoulder.
“Here, I’ll do it.” He spoke, pulling out his own knife. “How many kills have you skinned and gutted in your life, anyway? Mine is sharper.”
Daryl stabbed the knife into the walker’s stomach, cutting towards himself.
“I’m going to be sick.” You mumbled, placing a hand over your mouth.
Daryl stabbed the walker several more times, cutting into a new layer each time. “Now comes the bad part.” He spoke before reaching his hands inside. He began to feel around, scooping out bits as he went along.
“Yeah,” Daryl mumbled. “Hoss had a big meal not long ago. I feel it in there.” He scooped out the stomach, tossing it on the ground for Rick to cut open. After searching it for a few seconds, Daryl was able to pull out a piece of skull.
You let out a sigh of relief.
“The gross bastard had himself a woodchuck for lunch.” Daryl spoke, tossing the skull aside.
“At least we know.” Rick responded, standing up.
The sun was quickly disappearing as you finally made it back to the highway. Carol stood at the barrier, her face falling when she saw the three of you without Sophia.
“The trail went cold.” Rick spoke. “We’ll go back out there at first light.”
“You can’t leave my daughter out there on her own, to spend the night alone in the woods.” Carol cried.
“Out in the dark’s no good.” Daryl responded. “We’d just be tripping over ourselves. More people getting lost.”
Carol shook her head. “She’s only twelve! She can’t be out there on her own. You didn’t find anything?”
“I know this is hard, but I’m asking you not to panic.” Rick spoke calmly. “We know she was out there.”
You nodded. “We tracked her for a while. There was nothing to tell us that anything happened to her.”
“We have to make this an organized effort.” Rick began. “Daryl knows the woods better than anybody. I’ve asked him to oversee this.”
Carol eyed Daryl, her eyes narrowing in on a spot on his pants. “Is-Is that blood?”
“We took down a walker.” Rick explained.
“Oh my god.” Carol shook her head.
“There was no sign it was anywhere near Sophia, I promise.”
“How can you know that?” Andrea asked.
You and Rick both looked at Daryl, not wanting to explain your methods. “We cut the son of a bitch open, made sure.” He spoke plainly.
Carol took a deep breath, sitting down on the barrier. Lori sat next to her, placing a hand on her back. Carol’s face turned to anger as she looked over at Rick.
“How could you just leave her out there to begin with?” She asked, her voice shaking. “How could you just leave her?”
Rick’s face fell. “Those two walkers were on us. I had to draw them away. It was her best chance.”
“He didn’t have a choice, Carol.” Shane defended.
“How is she supposed to find her way back on her own? She’s just a child. She’s just a child.” Carol began to cry again.
“It was my only option. The only choice I could make.”
“I’m sure nobody doubts that.” Shane spoke.
Carol shook her head. “My baby got left in the woods.”
Rick stood up, noticing everyone staring right at him. Hell, even you were staring at him. You knew he did what he could, and you couldn’t help but wonder if you could’ve done more. Maybe if you’d risked getting lost too, you could’ve found her and at least kept her safe.
You watched as Rick turned away, slowly walking off on his own.

Along For The Ride (Nakamura Kazuha)
Author: Just a oneshot story from one of my Wattpad books. Also if you want to see more of my works check out my Masterlist.
Tumblr media
Y/N's POV
Washing my brand-new 2022 Ford GT that I've recently picked up a couple of weeks ago, and I've already fallen in love with it as it was my dream car since childhood.
Even though I live in Japan and some car fanatics find it odd that I bought an American sports car instead of Japanese models like Nissan or Toyota.
But it's whatever, I've made some modifications to the exhaust pipes and added a spoiler making it look more badass.
While power washing the windshield I heard my phone ringing, quickly finishing up cleaning the windshield, I set aside the gun and looked at the screen to see my good friend Mina calling me.
"Yes, Minari?" I greeted as I continue washing my car.
"Hey, Y/N/N, you coming to the car show tonight?" She asked.
"Yeah, why?" I asked.
"Well, thought I might want to tell you this, the famous rookie Idol and member of Le Sserafim is coming to the show!" She informed me and I raised an eyebrow.
"Who are you referring to?" I asked.
"Nakamura Kazuha," She answered and my eyes widened.
"W-What?!" I exclaimed and I heard her giggle over the phone.
"That's right~! Momo and Sana are coming along as well and since we're all Idols, could give you a chance to talk to her!" She replied and I sighed.
"U sure that's fine, Minari?" I asked.
"Of course, it's fine, you're our friend!" She assured.
"H-Haha, alright then, see you at the car show, Minari!" I said my goodbyes.
"Yeah, see ya there~!" She replied before hanging up.
Jeez, who knew my ult bias in Kpop would be there at a car show tonight...? That means that I have to make sure my GT is presentable at her best so I won't make myself look like a fool.
Anyway, I finish power washing my car, drying it using a microfiber cloth to remove any fingerprints and some water stains left from the hose.
After doing a final check on the bodywork, everything looked to be ready to go for the show, and I couldn't wait to see the look on Sana's face as she is not aware that I bought a Ford GT.
When it was around five in the afternoon, I take the car keys, open the door, hop inside the driver's seat, insert the keys into the ignition switch, and hear the magnificent sound of the engine starting.
Hearing the loud roar coming from the exhaust and engine running was like music to my ears even though it does piss off my neighbors but that's not important right now.
Taking off the parking brake, I roll down to the street and drive out of the neighborhood to the main road.
The drive was about fifteen minutes until I arrived at the big ass parking lot in the mall and seeing all the Nissan GTRs and Toyota Supras and all sorts of cars was a sight to see.
When I rolled in with my Ford GT, the photographers began taking pictures of my car from all angles and everyone was checking it out but I didn't mind.
Pulling in front of the girl's cars, they were all astonished except for Mina since she was there the day I picked it up.
"Oppa, is this your car?" Momo asked and I got out of the car.
"Yep," I answered and I locked the doors using the keys.
"Do you know how much that model cost nowadays?!" Sana asked and I nodded.
"What can I say? Running that online business really paid off," I answered.
"Wah, so trading stocks really does work..." Sana replied.
"If you have the right cards that is," I mentioned.
Discussing my work in the trade market, everyone else was preparing their cars for presentation, I heard a loud roaring of an engine and I turn around to see a Red 2017 Acura NSX pulling up into the parking lot.
Once the Acura NSX was parked, the doors opened revealing a man in formal attire and Nakamura Kazuha herself.
"Uhm, Minari, who is that guy?" I curiously asked.
"You've never heard of him? That is Jay Nam he's Kazuha's rich boyfriend, he runs a trading business like you do but he's a bit arrogant since he makes ten times the amount of money our band makes in a year." She explained.
"Jay Nam, huh? Damn, that is surely a nice ride," I replied.
"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you all for taking the time to come here and showing off your babies to everyone!" Jay thanked everyone.
With their arms locked to each other, I can't help but envy him as he's literally dating my dream girl and my ult bias.
"Now to start off, I can't help but admire all of your masterpieces that you've all brought here tonight! As you all may know, I am your host and founder of this event... Jay Nam!" He introduced himself and everyone cheered.
"But tonight! This isn't just going to be any other car show the likes you've ever seen, I will also be hosting races and a competition to see who's the best of the best!" He announced making everyone excited.
Damn, this Jay Nam guy really knows what gets us car fanatics siked and happy, maybe he isn't so bad after all...
"Wait a second...? A Ford GT? Now that is a first, although it is a nice-looking sports car but what's an American sports car doing all the way out here?" He asked.
Okay, I take back everything I just said about him... He really is arrogant like Minari warned...
"Ahem, getting to the point, who is excited about some races?!" Kazuha barged in and everyone cheered once more.
Seeing Jay glaring at her, Kazuha ignored him, and they stepped off the stage but I could actually hear them argue about something.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?! Do you have any idea this could hurt your image?!" Kazuha angrily asked.
"I should be asking you the same! How about you let me handle this and stay out of my way!" He angrily replied.
"Do they always argue like this?" I curiously asked and she nodded.
"Yep," She simply answered.
When they were finished arguing, Kazuha walked away from Jay making him deeply sigh and he slowly approached me.
"Are you the owner of this American trash?" He mockingly asked and I crossed my arms.
"Yes, why?" I asked in a monotone voice.
"Haha. Out of all the sports cars in the industry, you seriously went with a Ford GT?" He asked and I grinned.
"Don't be so smug, Jay, remember the Ford GT is the car that beat Ferrari in Le Mans," I mentioned and he chuckled.
"Oh, you poor thing, my Acura NSX can go a lot faster than any Ferrari not to mention Ford," He replied.
"You wanna bet on that?" I asked and he raised an eyebrow.
"I'm listening..." He said.
"How about this? If I beat you in a race, you have to get on your knees and admit that Ford is better than Acura in front of the whole crowd," I proposed and he chuckled.
"You've got some spirit, kid, I'll give you that... But if I win, you'll have to be my butler and I'll get to fuck my girlfriend along with your other girlfriends in front of you!" He explained and I grinned.
"It's a deal then," I agreed making everyone go woah.
Walking away from Jay without saying a word, I felt my arm being tugged and I turned around to see Kazuha with a worried look.
"Oh... Uhm, h-hey Kazuha," I nervously greeted.
"You're a fool, you know that?" She asked and I was lost for words.
"W-What?" I asked and she sighed.
"You really shouldn't have taken that deal with Jay, he's never once lost a race, and believe me there are others that tried and they lost. I've seen what happened to them and trust me... You don't want to be one of them." She warned and I nodded.
"Maybe so, but I'm not going to let an arrogant shithead like him beat me in a race, I've made my word Kazuha, and I'm certainly not going to back down now," I replied and she nodded.
"Fine, have it your way then," She said before walking away.
When the race track was all set, Jay and I pulled up behind the starting line, the grid girl stood between our cars and explained the rules and the entire track we must follow.
Holding the green flag high in the air, we started our engines, and the second she signals the start of the race, we sped off into the distance.
At first, Jay went in front of me, I shifted to the next gear increasing the power to the engine and I started to catch up.
When our cars met side by side, he glared at me for a second and put the pedal to the metal but I wasn't going to let him get away.
Shifting to the next gear, again increasing the power and speed, we drifted around the turns and I did them flawlessly as Jay did the same.
We were halfway toward the finish line and the race began to grow more intense as we kept increasing speed but I had to be careful to reduce RPM as I drift otherwise I'll spin out and crash.
But I can see Jay was starting to get a bit cocky with his drifting skills as he spun out at a turn because he was going too fast. Didn't Kazuha say he's one of the best drivers in the country?
Anyway, when we are approaching the finish line, we put in full power to the engines and shift the gears to the max.
Right when we crossed the finish line, it was pretty much at the same time causing everyone to gasp and we hit the brakes putting our cars at a halt.
We both get out of our vehicles with Jay giving me a deadly look claiming that he crossed the line first but I argued that I crossed it first and we argued for God knows how long until Kazuha and the others broke us up.
Waiting at the parking lot as the racing officials and the camera crew playback the footage determining who won the race and it's been nearly half an hour and felt like an eternity with the anxiety and pressure.
"We have a winner!" One of the crew announced.
"With just barely an inch to spare... The victor of this race goes to... Jang Y/N!" The crewmember announced and everyone clapped and cheered.
Left speechless that I'd actually defeated Jay Bitch in a race, he was left in utter humiliation and embarrassment, and based on the look on his face, he wasn't going to give up easily.
"This is bullshit! I want to watch that footage for myself!" Jay demanded.
"Sorry, Jay, but we've fully reviewed everything in the footage and we determined that Jang Y/N has won fair and square and you are just being a sore loser," He replied and he grabbed him by the collar.
"Nobody calls me a sore loser! Nobody!" Jay angrily said.
It didn't take long until the parking lot security stepped into the situation and forced Jay to let go of him but he somehow managed to push them all away.
Everyone backed away in fear, Jay goes into his car, takes out a metal baseball bat before going to my Ford GT and swinging the bat onto the windshield until it shattered into pieces.
Immediately, I stopped that maniac from causing more damage to my car by grabbing the bat and kicking him in the stomach.
Raising my fist, I punched him in the face as hard as I could causing him to lose his grip on the bat, and I got a hold of it before finishing him off by swinging at his head knocking him out cold.
"Go smoke a dick, Jay Bitch..." I said before spitting on his face and tossing the bat on the ground and Kazuha walked up to him.
"Consider me your ex-girlfriend, you were a great man, Jay, but now look at you..." Kazuha mentioned before sighing.
"How long have you two been dating?" I curiously asked.
"About a couple of years, he was once kind and caring toward others which is the reason why I fell for him that was until he started his online marketing business. He became greedy, selfish, and arrogant. I've been thinking about leaving him for a while now and I'm a fool for not doing so sooner." She explained.
After that whole fiasco was over, the tow truck came to tow my car to take it to the body shop to replace the broken windshield and I knew it wasn't gonna be cheap.
Leaving me with no ride to get back to my house, Mina drove me back to my house, she couldn't help but feel sorry but I assured her that it was fine since beating up Jay was a good enough compensation.
The next day, when it was morning, I finished showering, I was eating breakfast at my dining table until I heard the doorbell ringing.
Getting up from my chair, I walked up to the front door, looked through the peephole, and I was shocked to see Kazuha standing on my porch so I opened the door.
"How did you find me?" I asked and she smiled.
"I simply asked Mina-Unnie for your address just to deliver this," She answered before handing over an envelope and a signed album.
"What's all of this for?" I asked.
"For the damages to your car, should be more than enough to cover the bill and you can keep the rest and the album as an apology gift." She answered.
"A-Are you sure?" I nervously asked and she nodded.
"Yes, of course! Also, I never thought you had it in you... You're the first guy to ever publicly humiliate Jay. From what I heard, all of his buyers are calling off their contracts so it's only a matter of time before goes into bankruptcy." She explained.
"Looks like I've made history, the Ford GT not only beats Ferrari but also Acura, something to add to the books," I jokingly replied and she giggled.
"It would seem so, it was nice talking to you but I gotta go now, my manager is waiting for me in the car," She said and I nodded.
"Well, it was sweet meeting my ultimate bias, and thank you for the money," I thanked her and she smiled before waving goodbye.
Walking away to the SUV parked in front of my driveway, she gets inside the passenger seat and the SUV drives out of the neighborhood.
Going back inside my house, I take a looked at the signed album of all the members of Le Sserafim which made me smile as it was quite thoughtful of her.
Opening the envelope using the letter cutter, as expected, there was over five grand which made me choke as this was a fuck ton of money to give to some random fan like myself.
But there wasn't just money inside the envelope, there was a handwritten letter that obviously, Kazuha wrote herself, and I read it.
Hey Y/N,
I wrote this letter to formally apologize for my ex-boyfriend's actions of vandalizing your car over losing the race between the two of you last night. Inside this envelope should be at least five thousand US dollars and that should be more than enough to cover the replacement of your front windshield.
Oh, and one more thing... If you ever want someone to talk to... Call me (Insert Phone Number)
Sincerely, Nakamura Kazuha ;)
After finished reading her letter, I can't help but blush as Kazuha gave me her phone number, and I can already guess that Mina and her friends are going to relentlessly tease me.
But I know this for certain... This could lead to something more interesting...

Rated: T
Pairing: Gen, Akako & Kaito, Akako & Hakuba
Word Count: ~1k
A/N: A bit of canon-typical violence
Akako was willing to let a lot go. Despite what Kuroba may say, she has patience. She has a lot of patience. It’s honestly amazing just how patient she is.
This is where her patience snaps. Her fists tighten.
There wasn’t really a lot to do today. It was saturday and Akako planned for it to be a quiet day. She’d watch a few movies she’s been putting off, eat popcorn, and maybe use her crystal ball to check in on Kuroba’s heist. But during the second movie, she feels an uncomfortable pinch. A feeling she can’t explain, one she’s never felt before, but something similar to a hose being bent and the water being forced to a trickle. She scrambles from the couch, calling her crystal ball to her and waving it through her friends. Aoko is in her kitchen, humming with the news of the night’s KID heist in the background. Hakuba is running outside, fear in his eyes. Kuroba is hanging off a fence, the spike of it sticking out through his back and blood seeping from the tear in his jacket to the dirt. His hang glider is splayed out beside him, broken and useless. He is going to die. It pings through Akako, the pinch now a burn, and she knows with certainty he won’t live past this night unless she intervenes. One of his crows has finally managed to break his wings and hold him so he can’t escape. Except this crow has apparently become a shrike. Her teeth grit. Her fists tighten. Before she fully thinks of it, she is by Kaito’s side.
The first thing she registers is the noises Kuroba is making. Small whines and quick, labored breaths. The second thing she registers is a gunshot and the sound of Hakuba crumpling. The third is a large man, wearing a black fedora and trench coat. Kuroba’s unlucky shrike. When the man turns back to Kuroba, he jumps.
“Where the fuck did you come from?” He snarls, raising the pistol he’d used to shoot Kuroba and Hakuba to align with her heart. She gives it an unimpressed look.
“Hell,” Akako says, looking up at him with a smile. She’s lying, of course. Tea with Lucifer only happens on the third friday of a month, and this is the beginning of the month. The man’s lip curls.
“Akako?” Hakuba whispers, looking up, and Akako inclines her head. It was enough already to have her magic tell her Hakuba wasn’t dead. She appreciates the confirmation nonetheless.
“Then let me send you back,” he says and pulls the trigger. The bullet flies toward her, its path and their close distance no doubt allowing for great damage and most likely death. If she were normal. If she weren’t a powerful witch. (Quite possibly the most powerful red witch alive, if you ask her.) But she is not normal, and is in fact quite pissed off at this man damaging two of her favourite things, so she stands still in the path of the bullet instead of dodging so this man can see just how much damage his little toy does not do. The man’s jaw drops when all it causes is a brief stumble, the force rocking her back as the bullet clatters harmlessly to the pavement. He fires twice more with the same results, his hand shaking. One of the bullets flies slightly off course and nearly strikes Kuroba. She mutters a spell and the bullet oozes to the ground, the kinetic energy transferring to thermal and melting the iron. The man drops the gun.
“Finished?” Akako asks with a smirk, flicking her wrist to send the gun spinning toward Hakuba before the man can say anything. He splutters, eyes snapping to the gun before returning to her. When she takes a step forward he takes a step back. “Are you afraid of me? Good.”
He glares at her, angered. “I don’t know who or what the fuck you are, but you don’t know who you’re messing with. I am part of a very powerful organization.”
Akako laughs, hand over her mouth like one of those 90s villains in the magical girl animes Aoko and Kuroba like to watch so much. He flinches back a step and she takes a breath to reign herself in. Or at least reign in the laughter. There’s been enough holding back, she thinks. She’s allowed the organization to play, because she knows Kuroba likes the show and Hakuba likes the chase. Because she doesn’t make a habit of placing her hands within dishes which don’t concern her. But they have very much made themselves her problem now, and she thinks maybe she has let them play for too long.
“You think what hides in the shadows is true power,” Akako says, tilting her head. “But you’ve never witnessed it before. Never seen even a taste of what they have you chase. None of you have, but they will all learn.”
“For who I am, I am no Kaitou KID, nor am I a mistaken curse like Pandora. I am not some crow hiding in the shadows, make-pretending power.” Akako straightens, expression flat but fierce. Her eyes flash like blood, like violence, like impending doom. “I am a true magician and I do not like having my things broken. I am a descendant of Sekhmet and I take my payments in blood.”
The man pales behind the shadows of his fedora. “You don’t even have a weapon,” he spits, wavered.
Akako smiles. “Cute. You think I need a weapon.” She waves her hand and the shrike falls to his knees, hacking up black bile. Akako turns to Kuroba, and her mind stutters a moment on his impalement. Disease she can do, but healing is something the Koizumi line lost long ago. All she can do is send him to the hospital and hope they are quick enough.
“Hakuba,” Akako says.
“Yes?” Hakuba says, looking away from the shrike to her. She looks him over, checks for where the blood pools. It’s in his side. The bullet which hung Kuroba truly was simply a lucky shot.
Or, perhaps, a very unlucky shot.
“Watch over Kuroba. And perhaps tell him you found him there after a watchful eye sent a note to your own room?” Akako says. Akako asks. Hakuba nods. “We wouldn’t want him to throw a tantrum.”
“He can be quite a kid when the mood strikes him,” Hakuba agrees with a pained smirk. The way he’s only looked at Kuroba once doesn’t escape her notice. “And you, Lady Akako?”
“I have work to do,” Akako says and sends them off, only KID’s suit left behind, impaled on a spike.
The sun rises in the morning with reports of several buildings razed to the ground, leaving nothing but ash in their wake; multiple cases of spontaneous combustion; and one unlucky dead man in a highrise, face locked in pain and diseased lines of red scarred deep into his skin, all leading out from a javelin-like wound in his torso.
Later that morning a first grader gets a packet filled with several files of research with a note taped to it, telling her it’s from “one fate-breaker to another”.
Kuroba Kaito wakes several days later to two worried parents, a worried sister, a detective in a cast, and one witch. He stares at the witch in surprise and says nothing when she tells him he’ll have to continue his search without the crow’s aid.

Eddie 🎸/ Farm 🐄 / water gun🔫
A lil best friend!Eddie for you, bb 💚
Warnings: none, one sex joke but that's it. It's all fluff.
WC: 867
--
“Wait, hold on,” Eddie says, putting his hands up in disbelief. “Are you saying you’ve never been on a Slip ‘n Slide?”
“‘M serious, Eds,” you promise, fiddling with the hem of your shorts. You’re sitting up against his bed in front of the oscillating fan that’s providing little relief from the summer heat. “My mom was super strict. She took one look at Mel Gibson holding a gun in a movie poster and said ‘no way.’”
He chuckles incredulously, shaking his head. “Next thing you’ll tell me you never had a water gun fight.”
“Well…”
“Y/N!” Eddie jumps up, mattress springs creaking underneath him. “You’ve seriously never had a water gun fight?!”
“It’s really not a big deal,” you protest, but you’re also embarrassed. Your mom never let you do anything fun, and you’d always felt left out among your friends. Even now that you’re an adult, she still tries to tell you what to do.
Eddie remains stuck on your lack of water gun experience. “Huh,” he says finally. “We’ll just have to fix that, won’t we?” He extends his hand to help you up from the floor and you take it, a puzzled expression on your face. “C’mon, you trust me, don’t you?”
“Absolutely not.” But the smile on your face gives you away, You and Eddie have been friends for years; if you can’t trust him, who can you trust? “Now, where are we going?”
His chocolate eyes narrow and he stares at you intensely. “The seventh circle of hell!” he exclaims, deepening his voice to match his Dungeon Master persona. You’re clearly not going to get an answer from him, so you sigh and follow him to his van.
~
Fifteen minutes later, the two of you are standing in the toy aisle at Melvald’s. Eddie’s intently perusing their water gun options, tongue poking out between his lips in sheer concentration. He plucks a red one from the shelf and examines it before putting it back. “Entertech makes these battery powered ones, but I don’t see them here.” He grabs the red one again and hands it to you. “Will this suffice?”
“Sure.” You’re not a water gun connoisseur, but it seems fine to you.
Eddie grabs the same model in blue and heads to the register. When you pull out your wallet, he gently pushes your hand away. “I got this.” He hands the cashier a crumpled ten-dollar bill and turns back to you. “Are you prepared for the most epic water gun fight this dinky town has ever seen?”
You roll your eyes but play along. “I was born ready, Munson.”
~
You’d assumed he would take you back to Forest Hills trailer park, so you’re thrown for a loop when he brings you to the farm adjacent to Merrill’s pumpkin patch. It’s quiet during the summer, with autumn obviously being their busiest season. It’s the perfect place to engage in some teenage debauchery without getting caught. Plus, as Eddie excitedly points out, they have a hose you can use to “reload your weapon.”
“Okay, assume your position,” Eddie announces once you’ve filled the water guns. “I’ll count to three and then the games can begin.” You hide behind a tree as he counts. “One…two…”
“Three!” you yell, pulling the trigger. A stream of water hits him square in the chest. You can’t help but giggle at his shocked expression. “How did you not see that coming?”
“I thought you played by the rules,” Eddie says with a pout. “I should’ve known better. Always such a troublemaker.” With that, he aims his water gun at you and sprays it over and over. He gets careless after a bit, and he accidentally gets water in your eye.
“Ow!” you shriek, lowering your weapon and covering your face. As soon as he realizes that he’s actually hurt you, Eddie comes trotting over worriedly.
“Hey, hey; you good?” he asks, tugging gently at your hand to get a better look at your eye. He’s let his guard down–the perfect time to strike. You smirk and fire back at him. “Oh, you are so dead!” he sputters, though you notice he’s more careful about where he aims.
The fight lasts until the two of you are laughing too hard to stand up, drenched from head to toe. As you traipse back towards his van, you thank him. “This was a lot of fun. Feels nice to just…let loose, y’know?”
Eddie nods. “Same. Plus, now you can tell everyone that Eddie Munson made you wet.” He waggles his eyebrows, grunting as you elbow him. “Shout it from the rooftops, baby! Eddie Munson got you soaked!”
“You’re such a perv!” you retort, contorting your face in mock disgust. Before he can refute your claim, a booming voice startles you both.
“What are you kids doing out here?” Chief Hopper shouts, slamming the police car door and hustling over. Eddie starts to walk faster, but you’re in the mood for trouble. “This is private property!”
“Sorry!” you call back. “Eddie Munson was just making me wet!” Eddie’s jaw drops open, and he practically yanks you into the van. “What?” you ask, feigning innocence. “You said to tell everyone!”

She’s been in there a while.
Your eyes keep darting to the gas station bathroom, the door only kept in place by one hinge. Ellie had made a bee-line for the building as soon as the truck had rolled to a stop, Joel declaring the need for gas once again.
It’s the second time you’ve stopped since leaving Lincoln, and the strange, gnawing feeling in your chest that had crept up as the gate slid shut hasn’t lessened. If anything, it’s only gotten worse, now twinged with anxiety as you stare in the direction Ellie disappeared.
“She’s fine, Liv,” Joel grunts, waving his hand as he crouches beside another car. “If there was something in there, we woulda heard it by now.”
His words don’t help.
You let it get the better of you, and push off where you’d been leaning against the truck, hand resting on the gun at your hip. Joel calls your name, but you ignore him, striding towards the building. You call out as your fingers curl around the doorknob, pushing the wobbly door open.
“Ellie?”
The door swings inward to reveal her standing in front of a mostly-shattered mirror, the sink in front of it decayed and cracked. You’re surprised it even supports the weight of her bag as she fumbles for it, cursing under her breath. She has the gun in her hand, the one she took from Bill and Frank’s, and you can see the worry in her face as she tries to stash it quickly, thinking you’re Joel.
When she sees it’s you and not him, her face softens. “Oh, hey.”
“Hey,” you say, glancing over your shoulder before stepping through the door. Joel’s preoccupied with siphoning the gas still, paying you little mind. You know he’s always watching, but you’re out of sight for now. “You even know how to use that thing?”
Something like relief pools in your gut when the kid nods, stuffing the gun into her backpack and yanking the zipper shut. “They teach us in FEDRA school. The minds of today are the soldiers of tomorrow, or some bullshit like that.”
The corner of your mouth quirks. “That does sound like bullshit.” You jut your chin towards her. “You shot one of those?”
She nods again. “Something like it.”
“Alright,” you nod, jutting your thumb over your shoulder. “Joel’s almost done, we should get back outside.”
“Okay.”
“Okay.”
You’re barely out of the doorframe when Ellie calls your name. “Liv?”
“Yeah?” you ask, turning back, your hand on the doorknob again.
“You’re not gonna tell Joel, right?” she asks, those dark eyes of hers going shiny at the edges. “About the gun, I mean.”
You school your face blank. “I don’t know what you’re talking about, kid.”
She just smiles.
You head back outside as Joel moves onto his third car. Ellie follows behind, the pair of you stepping through the mess of abandoned vehicles until you’re standing beside Joel. He flicks the little door to the gas tank open, turns the cap until it pops out. “We have to do this every hour?” Ellie asks, glancing between you, and you shrug.
“Gas breaks down over time,” Joel supplies, pushing the hose into the tank. “This stuff’s almost water. Back in the day, we’d drive ten, twelve hours on one tank. You could go anywhere.”
“So where’d you go?” she asks.
You shrug again, then scoff. “Boston.”
She looks at Joel, and his eyes drop. “Nowhere.”
Joel slips the end of the second hose past his lips, blowing air into it, and as the gas funnels out, Ellie gapes. “Nice! How does that work?”
“It’s a siphon,” Joel tells her, like that’s explanation enough, but when she lifts a hand, prompting him further, he stumbles. “It’s when liquid…travels against gravity, because pressure—”
You don’t know,” Ellie quips, and you bark a laugh.
Joel shoots daggers in your direction and you mumble out a sorry. He looks back to Ellie. “I know it works.”
Satisfied with herself, Ellie steps away from the pair of you, clearly wanting to start wandering again. “Hey, don’t go far,” you call to her.
“How about no wanderin’ at all,” Joel calls, his voice a little louder than yours.
It’s your turn to shoot daggers at him.
With a huff, Ellie turns on her heel, coming to stand between the car Joel’s siphoning gas from and the one you’re leaning against. “Fine,” she sighs, slinging her bag off her shoulders and setting it on the trunk beside your elbow. She looks at Joel over her shoulder. “This is your fault then.”
His brow is so deeply creased as he stares at the kid, and then you, confusion plain as day on his face. You stifle another laugh as Ellie unzips her bag and pulls a thin, worn book from its depths. She cracks it open with a flourish, and clears her throat.
“It doesn’t matter how much you push the envelope,” she declares, in a tone almost like an announcer’s, “it’ll still be stationery.”
She giggles, and Joel’s brow gets impossibly more furrowed. You can’t stop your chuckle now.
They’re puns.
“No Pun Intended, Volume Too,” she shows you, brandishing the book like she’s Vanna White, “by Will Livingston.” She turns the book to Joel, pointing out the title. “Volume Too. Look, you get it? Too. Like t-o-o.”
“Jesus,” Joel grunts, and holds out his hand to you. You take it, hauling him to his feet as Ellie continues.
“What did the mermaid wear to her math class?”
“Oh, I know this!” you laugh, ignoring the withering look Joel’s giving you. “C-shells?”
Ellie beams, pleased as anything that you’re playing along. “Nope, an algae bra!”
She dissolves into giggles and you can’t help yourself, laughing along with her. Joel rolls his eyes, shaking his head as you lean against the car, unable to stop giggling right along with her.
Ellie reads another one: “I stayed up all night, wondering where the sun went, and then it dawned on me.”
“No,” Joel says, shaking his head at you. You reach for his arm, laughing so hard your sides hurt, and he keeps shaking his head, but you can see the tiniest of quirks at the corner of his mouth. And try as he might, he can’t hide the smile in his eyes. “Feel free to wait in the truck, both of you.”
“Joel,” you chastise around your laughter, pinching his arm. “Don’t be a grump.”
It takes a moment for you both to calm down, Ellie’s giggles dissolving into a fake-serious look at Joel. “Fine, but just know, you can’t escape Will Livingston. He’ll be back, and there’s nothing you can do to stop it.”
You’re still giggling quietly as she stuffs the book back in her bag, and the wind starts to pick up, whipping across the empty gas station. Joel lifts his arm as Ellie heads back to the truck and you tuck yourself under it, sliding your arms around his middle. “Weird fuckin’ kid.”
“She’s funny,” you reply, tilting your head back to look him in the face. “Give her a chance, Joel.” He doesn’t say anything, his jaw going tight, and you reach for his wrist, brushing your hand over his watch.
+
Twenty minutes later, you’re back on the road. Ellie takes the backseat this time, you in the passenger’s seat, inspecting the maps you’d pilfered from Bill’s bunker. Joel feels better to be back in the truck, back on the road. Stopping even as briefly as you did made him uneasy, especially being out in the open like that. He’s got more than enough ammunition in the truck, but still.
He watches you from the corner of his eye as he drives, his focus shifting between you and the road. There’s something different about you, since you left Lincoln. He sees it in brief moments, flickers in your face. Bravery maybe, but something tells him it’s more than that, more feral, more akin to the strange thing he’s feeling, too. He wants to ask you, to try and put what he’s experiencing into words, but he doesn’t know how.
And he doesn’t want the kid to hear.
The curiosity hasn’t stopped, but Joel’s trying to be patient. The kid hasn’t known anything besides the QZ, and reduced to the shitty FEDRA school at that. The outside world may as well be an entirely different planet. One littered with long-abandoned vehicles, and currently, she wants to know how the roads have been cleared, all the cars and vans and trucks pushed off to the sides.
“Big trucks,” you supply, not looking up from your map. “Really big.”
“Must have been huge,” Ellie replies, turned in her seat, peering out the back window.
One hand on the wheel, Joel lets his free one slip down, moving across the gear shift until it’s close to you, palm up. You don’t look, but your hand slides over his a moment later, fingers twining with his while you balance the map on your legs, tracing the path with your finger. “Yeah,” Joel answers, eyes moving back to the road ahead, “they used to stick these giant plows on them, and clear the roads for their tanks and such.”
Ellie spins around so quick he worries she’ll get whiplash. “I wanna see a tank!”
“You will,” he answers, forcing himself to frown, if only to keep from grinning at her naive enthusiasm. “Tanks, choppers, all that stuff. But they’ll fight the wrong enemy, just scattered around now.”
She goes quiet, and you keep tracing different paths. Far too many ways to get to Wyoming. Another moment, and the kid leans forward, brandishing a cassette tape. “I got somethin’. Does this make you all nostalgic?”
She hands him the tape, the movement pulling Joel’s hand from yours, and it catches your attention. “This is actually before my time,” he tells her, and from the corner of his eye, he sees you grin.
Ellie huffs, leaning back. “Great.”
“It’s a winner, though,” he declares, and hits the eject button, putting the Linda Ronstadt in the empty cup holder and popping Hank Williams in.
“Really?” you ask, squinting at Joel as he turns up the volume, slips his hand back into yours. Alone and Forsaken wafts from the speakers, and in the rearview, he can see Ellie’s less-than-impressed face. “Hank Williams?”
“What?” he asks, squeezing your fingers. “It’s classic.”
“Whatever you say, old man,” you quip, and when he pinches your knee, you laugh.
Unenthused by the music, Ellie starts digging around the backseat again. “Found something else,” she announces, and the ruffle of paper drowns out the music for a moment. “It’s a little light on the reading, but it has some interesting pictures.”
Glancing up, Joel sees just what she’s looking at in the rearview, and her wide-eyed expression. His face heats. Oh god. “Oh. No, no, no, no, put that back, that’s not for kids, Ellie—”
“How’d he even walk around with that thing?” she nearly shouts, and you bark a laugh, tucking the map away.
“Ellie, put it away,” you say around another laugh, but when you reach for the porn mag, she holds it out of reach.
“Please get rid of it!” Joel nearly shouts.
“Hold your horses!” she shouts back. “I wanna see what all the fuss is about.”
An awkward silence settles over the truck. Joel has both hands on the wheel now, white-knuckled, and you have your knees up to your chest, your face buried in your hands, absolutely losing it. Joel presses his lips together, forcing himself not to smile.
“Why are all these pages stuck together?” Ellie asks, and all the blood drains from his face.
“Uhhhhhhhh…the—”
“I’m just fuckin’ with ya!” Ellie laughs, and you’re laughing so hard no sound is coming out of you as Ellie smacks Joel in the shoulder with the porn mag before leaning over to roll down the window. She flings it outside. “Bye-bye, dude!”
The kid sinks back into her seat, a smug smile when she meets Joel’s eyes in the rearview. You’re still shaking with laughter, wiping your eyes on the back of your hand, and Joel stuffs down his gratitude.
It’s been a long time since he heard you laugh like that.
The next silence that settles is more comfortable. Joel still feels on edge, to a degree, his eyes scanning the edges of the road as the truck rumbles along it. You have enough gas for now, he decides silently, tallying the gallons he’d siphoned in his head. Enough to find a spot to camp for the night, get back on the road in the morning. It’s enough for now.
His hand slides back into yours, and the decaying world whips past on either side of the truck, blurring in the windows. Herds of buffalo wander the edges of the asphalt when the road turns into highway, and Joel wonders how long they’ve been out here, if there was a farm or a reserve that once held them.
You pass an amusement park, the structures of the rides and roller coasters still stretching towards the sky. He hears Ellie’s quiet awe from the backseat, her energy a bit more muted since the laughter that had ensued over the porn mag.
Nestled between his, your fingers twitch, and it takes Joel a moment to realize you’re asleep, your head on his shoulder, free hand curled around his forearm.
It sparks a memory, coupled with the amusement park outside the window, and for once, he lets it in.
+
“Liv, c’mon!” Sarah shouted. She was giddy with excitement, hadn’t stopped talking about your visit the moment Joel had announced it. And when she saw the flyers for the Fourth of July carnival in town, the excitement had only doubled. “I wanna do the spinny teacups first!”
She pulled on your hand, the one not intertwined with Joel’s, and you looked up at him, an almost apologetic look on your face as you let his daughter haul you off, fingers slipping off the ends of his.
“Go,” he told you, chuckling around the word. “I’ll catch up.”
He stared at your backs until you disappeared into the crowds, the carnival lights tinting his vision different colours. It was packed, every soul in Austin jammed into the same open field, filled with those cheesy carnival games that took too many tries to win anything half decent, a myriad of rides run by solemn-looking teenagers just trying to earn a buck. Classic.
He’d picked you up from the airport a few days prior, your name scrawled on the back of some random work order form he’d found in his truck, a bouquet of daisies from the supermarket in his hand. He wanted to get you something more extravagant, more telling of just how much he’d missed you, how happy he was to have you back home, but money was tight, and he couldn’t…
The tears on your face when you kissed him hello whisked some of the guilt away.
You were doing your best to split your time evenly between your own home and his. Anna had missed you dearly and had to fill you in on everything, apparently, and you’d spent one of your afternoons at the hardware store with your dad. But every night so far had found you back in Joel’s bed.
Where you belonged.
Tommy materialized out of the crowd, cigarette dangling from his lips, beer bottle in hand. “My brother!” he called, sidling up to Joel, slinging his arm around his neck. “So? Did ya ask her yet?”
“Put that thing out,” he quipped, elbowing his brother in the stomach. “You drunk already?”
“Oh, c’mon, you stiff! It’s the Fourth of July! It demands beer and revelry.” But Tommy dropped the cigarette, stubbing it out beneath the heel of his boot.
He squinted at his brother. “Do you even know what revelry means?”
“Fuck you,” Tommy shot back, tightening his grip on Joel’s neck, fake-punching him in the stomach. “Where’s your girl at?”
“Sarah dragged her off to the rides,” he replies, jutting his chin towards the spinning teacups. Tommy falls into step with him, and they make their way over. Joel spots you easily, Sarah still tugging on your arm, telling you some story or another that you’re listening to intently. “I see ‘em.”
“You didn’t answer me,” Tommy said, the pair of them leaning onto the metal fence that surrounded the ride. You were almost at the front of the line, and Sarah was bouncing on her toes with excitement. “Did you ask her yet?”
“No,” he grumbled back, wishing his brother would just drop it.
“Well, are you gonna? She goes back to Boston in what, a week?”
“Eight days.”
“Eight days,” Tommy repeated, gesturing with his beer bottle, trying to make a point. “You gonna waste ‘em and let her go again?”
“I’m not—” Joel started, but cut himself off. Something twisted at his stomach, putting a sour expression on his face. “I’m not wastin’ it, Tommy. It’s not that damn simple.”
“Nothin’ ever is, big brother. You taught me that.”
Joel just shook his head. The ride spun to a stop, letting the current riders off, and once they were clear, the guy manning the ride opened the gate, letting you out of the lineup. He watched as you handed him the tickets for you and Sarah, and she grabbed your hand, pulling you towards the teacup painted teal and lavender.
You spotted him once you were settled inside, you and Sarah side by side, and you both lifted your hands to wave. Tommy whistled loudly, waving along with him, and then the ride whirred to life. He could see the instant shift from excitement to terror on Sarah’s face, and she gripped your arm tightly, leaning her head on your shoulder. You put your arm around her as the cup started to spin, and Joel couldn’t take his eyes off you, watching you both as the ride spun around and around.
It took a few turns, but Sarah’s excitement returned, and soon enough he could hear your laughter even from where he stood, his hands clasped in front of him on the fence.
You both came off the ride giggling like mad, and Tommy offered himself up as Sarah’s next ride partner, leading her toward the bumper cars while Joel turned you toward the ferris wheel.
As the wheel turned, lifting you to the very top, giving you the perfect view of the carnival below, he heard your quiet gasp, and you laid your head on his shoulder, your hands intertwined in his lap. Something in him twisted.
Ask her.
But he froze.
Later, after the sun had completely set and you’d all found good places to sit and watch the fireworks show, it happened again. You said hello to your parents, found a handful of sparklers for Sarah while she ran around with the other kids, waiting for the fireworks to start.
As the first colourful explosions lit the sky, it happened again.
Ask her.
He opened his mouth, turned his head until his chin touched the crown of your head. But no words came out.
Even later, when you were back home — his home — and intertwined in his bed. Bodies bare and just the sheet pulled over you both, the window open to let in the cool evening air. The carnival fireworks were long over, but he could hear the distant popping, little sparks of light illuminating the sky. You were curled up beside him, your head on his shoulder.
Ask her, the thing in him shouted. Ask her to stay.
The words were right there, on the tip of his tongue. Stay with me. Be with me. Don’t leave me again.
You stirred, your head lifting, and he found your eyes in the dark. “Y’okay, darlin’?”
“Peachy,” you mumbled, an easy smile on your face. “Kiss me?”
He did as you asked.
Eight days later, he watched from the curb as you headed into the airport, your kiss still imprinted on his lips, a teary glance shot over your shoulder.
He never asked.
+
He has you now, he reminds himself, tightening his grip on the steering wheel. He’s done unspeakable things to keep you, bought himself a one-way ticket to hell with his selfishness, he’s sure, but it doesn’t matter.
You are the only thing that ever did. Ever has.
Joel’s eyes flick up to the rearview, seeing Ellie leaned back in her seat, her eyes glued to the world outside the window. After a few hours, you wake with a yawn, turning to rub your nose against Joel’s bicep, shoving your hand through your hair. Ellie’s leaning forward now, her cheek resting on the back of your seat, watching through the front windshield instead.
It’s getting late, and Joel doesn’t like how dark it’s getting. He doesn’t want to waste the truck battery on the headlights, and he sure as hell doesn’t want to be dodging cars in the dark. “All right,” he says as you sit up, stretching your arms over your head. Ellie straightens behind you, tiredness clear on her face. “That’s enough for today.”
He spots a break in the trees, and turns the truck off the road, into a clearing. The grass gives way easily beneath the truck tires, and he lets it roll across the ground, heading towards the denser forest, finding a smaller open space to park. You’re all quiet as he cuts the engine, both of you slipping out of the truck at the same time, hands hovering over holsters. But all that greets you outside the cab of the truck is soft birdsong, the quiet noise of the wind through the trees.
Joel pulls the rifle he’d taken from Bill’s bunker out of the truck, and starts making the rounds, walking a perimeter through the trees. Distantly, he can hear you and Ellie chatting, you asking for her help to get the camping stove out, sorting through some of the cans you’d packed. It’s not long before you’re calling for him, telling him to put the gun away and eat something.
He pecks your cheek in thanks when you hand him the plate of ravioli. Ellie already has her plate, fork in hand, and is shovelling it into her mouth. “You can slow down, kid,” you laugh, both you and Joel sinking to the ground near her, aching knees touching. “No one’s gonna take it from you, I swear.”
“This is slow,” she shoots back, talking around a mouthful. “What even is this?”
“Twenty-year-old Chef Boyardee ravioli,” you answer, and Joel sees the slight curve to the corner of your mouth as you speak.
“That guy was good,” Ellie comments, her mouth now completely full.
Joel huffs a little laugh. “I actually agree.”
It goes quiet for a moment, nature filling in the silence, the sounds of your forks hitting the plates the only man-made noise. Joel eats, his stomach grateful for the food, and he’s distantly reminded of eating the same thing back in Austin, nights when he was too tired to cook, or Sarah had taken it upon herself to make dinner, and he’d come home to a plate similar to this one.
“How long are we staying out here?” Ellie asks, breaking the quiet, and she’s looking at you.
Your eyes cut to Joel. “What d’you think? We sleep tonight, drive in shifts tomorrow, all day and all night? Should get us to Wyoming by the next morning if we don’t stop too often.”
Joel nods, swallowing down another bite. “We’ll have to keep stoppin’ for gas, but it doesn’t take long.”
“Can we start a fire, then?” Ellie asks, digging back into her food. “I’m freezing.”
Joel squints at the kid, nearly dropping his fork. “Now, why am I gonna tell you no?”
He hears your quiet Joel, your tone warning. But Ellie sighs, rolls her eyes a bit. “Because Infected will see the smoke.”
It’s a good answer, and he has to remind himself that she’s just a kid, she doesn’t know. She hasn’t been out in it like you both have, all these years. “No,” he tells her, and tries to curb his tone, but your elbow dug into his knee tells him it’s not enough. “Fungus isn’t that smart. This is too remote for Infected, anyway.”
You breathe a sigh, and as Joel finishes what’s on his plate, you offer him the rest of yours. He opens his mouth to protest, but you shake your head. “Take it.”
When he looks up again, he can see the realization passing over Ellie’s face. “People?”
He just nods.
“So what are they gonna do?” she asks, her fork moving a bit slower now, a hint of fear in her face. “Rob us?”
“No,” you answer before Joel can, reaching for one of the water bottles you put on the ground between you. “They’ll have other things in mind. Worse things.”
Ellie swallows so hard Joel can see her throat bob, but she nods, understanding. “Okay. No fire.”
It’s not long before the sun dips completely, and the forest sinks into the dark, the spaces beyond the trees turning to pure shadow. It gets cold quickly, and you fish an extra hoodie out of the truck for Ellie, a fleece pullover for yourself. You offer Joel a sweater his size, but he shakes his head.
By the light of a camping lantern, you spread out sleeping bags and an extra blanket for you and Joel. Ellie moves a bit awkwardly, clearly taking hints from you as she unzips the sleeping bag Joel had handed her. “It kinda smells good, actually.”
“Well, that would be Frank’s then,” Joel says and she laughs in response.
Joel checks the barrel of the rifle as you settle onto the blanket, pulling off one of your boots and rubbing at your ankle. He sets the gun down on his side of the sleeping bag, and you pull your knife from your belt, setting it beside the rifle. Joel gestures to your foot, jutting his chin towards it, and with a bit of a huff, you extend your leg to him, until your ankle is resting in his lap. “Sore?”
“Same one I twisted on the way out of the QZ,” you answer, and Joel nods, remembering. “It was fine when we were still in Boston, and even in Lincoln. Just acting up, is all.”
His brow furrows as he pushes up the cuff of your jeans, pulls down your thick socks. You make a little pained noise as he wraps his finger around your ankle, testing. He cups one palm under your heel, rubs his thumb into the skin beside the bone of your ankle, right where the little butterfly is tattooed, and when he gives a little more pressure, your head tips back, the whimpers giving way to a soft moan. The corner of his mouth lifts.
He can feel Ellie watching from her sleeping bag, and when he glances her way, she immediately averts her eyes, busying herself with pulling something out of her bag. He rubs your ankle a few minutes longer, until you push at his hands, leaning across the space between you to kiss one of the bare patches in his beard. “Thank you, baby.”
With a soft grunt, he turns his head, gives you a soft peck before you’re both shuffling into the sleeping bag, arranging the other blanket around you. Ellie turns out the camping lantern, and Joel rolls away from you, his good ear up. You curl into his back, your nose pressed to the top of your spine, one arm slung around his middle. The sound of the forest filters through the night, the birds replaced with crickets, the occasional snapping of twigs making his hands twitch towards the rifle.
He’s almost asleep, and then he hears the kid. “Hey, Liv?”
You turn, your breath hot against the back of his neck as you sigh, your arm still glued to his waist. “Yes, Ellie?”
“Can I ask you a serious question?”
He can almost see your eyes roll. “Is it a serious question or is it one of your puns?”
Ellie sighs, pauses, but then, “Why did the scarecrow get an award?”
You turn back, shaking your head as you bury your face in Joel’s shoulder. But then he turns, looking at Ellie through the soft darkness, seeing the shit-eating grin on her face. “Because he was outstanding in his field,” he answers.
You sputter a giggle against his back, and Ellie sits up, laughing. “You dick! Did you read this?”
Joel turns over again, hiding his grin, feeling your grip on him tighten, the soft shake of your quiet laughter against his back. “No,” he calls back to her. “Now go to sleep.”
He can hear the ruffle of her sleeping bag, and your giggles subside, the tip of your nose tracing the dips in his spine as you settle again. It’s a few minutes before Ellie speaks again, and for a moment, Joel thinks you’ve passed out, but he feels you bristle as she calls. “Hey, Joel?”
“Yeah?”
“Those people you said…there’s no way anyone knows we’re here, right? No one’s gonna find us.”
“No one’s gonna find us,” he repeats, and reaches down to cover your hand with his, squeezing your fingers.
“Okay,” she whispers, barely audible, and he hears the shuffle of her sleeping bag once again.
Before Joel can get a word out, he feels you start to move, your arm moving from his waist, and it takes a second for him to realize you’re sliding out of the sleeping bag, arranging the blanket more securely around him. He calls your name as you step over his legs, bending down to pick up the rifle.
“Get some sleep,” you tell him, loading the gun as you straighten, and for a moment, he’s struck dumb by the power in your stance, even in the dark. The force that is Olivia Miller. “I’ll wake you in a few hours.”
+
He wakes before you have the chance to wake him yourself. It’s still dark as anything, your watch telling you it’s nearly three in the morning, and Joel murmurs your name, announcing his presence before you feel the soft flannel blanket around your shoulders, the material warm from where you’d left it wrapped around Joel.
“Here,” he mumbles, draping his arms around you with the blanket. Your hands shuffle together, Joel taking the rifle as you curl your fingers in the edge of the blanket. “Go lie down, baby. I can keep watch till morning.”
“I’ll take the first shift for driving,” you tell him, unable to resist leaning your tired form back into his body. He presses a soft kiss to the edge of your jaw, and you turn your head to kiss his lips. “Your back okay?”
“S’fine,” he replies, shaking his head softly. He reaches up, brushes hair from your face. “Anything happen?”
“Few bunnies, couple squirrels, nothing exciting,” you tell him. “Hope it stays that way.”
“Me, too.”
He starts to turn you towards your makeshift camp, the all-too-inviting sleeping bag you know will still be warm from his body, just like the blanket. But you stop, curling your hand around his wrist. “Joel, wait.”
“What is it, Liv?”
“I was…I was thinking, and I think I need you to promise me something.”
Even in the dark, you can see how his brow furrows, and you can’t stop yourself from reaching up and smoothing your thumb over the dip that forms in his skin. His free hand rests on your upper arm, palm moving up and down over the blanket. “Anything you need, baby. You know that.”
You nod, swallowing hard. You’d thought this over a million times as you kept watch, what you’d say to him, how you’d word it. It’s all gone out the window, removed from your mind as those dark eyes of his meet yours, curiosity in the perfect shade of brown, tinged with concern.
“I need you to promise me, that if anything happens to either of us, if we get separated or something, then we get Ellie somewhere safe first.”
He balks. His hand freezes, his fingers digging into you slightly.
You take a shaky breath. “We’re fucking capable people, Joel. You know that. She shouldn’t have to be; she’s just a kid, she didn’t ask for any of this. All I’m asking, is that if anything happens, you get her somewhere safe, and once you’re sure she’s okay, then you come back for me.”
His eyes go tight, his jaw clenched as he shakes his head once. “I won’t lose you, Liv.”
“You’re right,” you answer, reaching up with both hands, cupping his jaw in your palms. “You won’t. You know that, and I know that. The whole world fell apart and we still managed to find each other again. But the kid…we have lost too much, Joel. Both of us. And she…”
It’s Tess’s voice in your head. She can fix it. Make up for all the bad shit we did.
“Liv…”
“Please, Joel. Promise me.”
“Fine,” he grits out, reaching a hand up to curl around the back of your neck, hauling you close. You go willingly, your fingers digging into his beard, scratching light against his cheeks. “But it works both ways.”
You nod. “No questions asked.”
“No questions asked,” he repeats and you lift your jaw, catching his lips with yours. The kiss is deep, hard, the press of his fingers beneath your ears, his palm cradling your head. He doesn’t give you the time to say it out loud, so you pour the words into the kiss instead.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Clark Kent x Amab Reader
cw. bottom! clark x dom! male reader
Tumblr media
Leaning against his car, hands gripping around the rolled down window behind him, Y/N had to swallow hard to prevent himself from drooling when Clark lifted the hem of his shirt to wipe sweat from his face, revealing his hard, flat abdomen. If the AI hadn’t taken Clark’s powers, then Y/N knew Clark would be alerted to his presence by how hard Y/N’s heart was beating.
As hard as farm chores were for Clark now, without his super strength, Y/N knew he should go over and offer to help, and soon he would, but for now he was enjoying the show too much to interrupt it. Even with the hard length of his cock pressing against the zipper of his dress pants.
So far, Clark didn’t seem to know Y/N was there, so Y/N was free to ogle to his heart’s content. Something he’d never allow himself to do so openly if he had an audience. Even if the only audience was the object of his lust.
When Clark bent over and picked up a bale of hay. It was a smorgasbord of delights - getting to see Clark’s ass in stark relief when he bent over, and then his biceps bulging with effort as he straightened with the heavy load in his hands.
Barely managing to restrain a giveaway moan, Y/N didn’t resist when his hand slid down his own abdomen and palmed his hard cock. He fought against closing his eyes, though, as he didn’t want to miss the sight of Clark continuing his farm chores.
Five minutes later, Clark looked like he was done. At least, there were no more bales of hay to be moved. Y/N licked his lips as Clark grabbed the hem of his shirt again, but this time took it all the way off. Y/N was glad the elder Kents weren’t home.
Even if they’d finally accepted his relationship with their son, they might backtrack if they saw the naked want Y/N knew was on his face right now. And, if they could read his mind, if they knew even a fraction of the things he wanted to try with Clark, Jonathan would probably go for his gun, and Martha wouldn’t stop him.
The thoughts only got more intense when Clark picked up the hose near his feet and flicked the switch on the pointed, copper nozzle. Water gushed out, and Clark held the nozzle over his head, shaking his hair under the spray, and sluicing a hand down his chest.
Knowing the water would cover any sound he made, Y/N didn’t bother to hold back a moan at the sight of Clark half naked and wet, strong hand sliding over his smooth skin, droplets of water clinging to his hair. When Clark bent over to run the water through his hair again, letting the excess drip to the ground, Y/N straightened up. He could no longer stand to just watch; he had to touch.
Before he got more than a step, however, Clark was shutting off the water, and loping for the barn. Y/N altered his direction slightly, and headed for the barn, too. With all the doors open, it wasn’t very dark, but the change in light did take a few seconds to adjust to.
When Y/N finally stepped through the doorway, it was to see Clark, still shirtless, standing on tiptoe and stretching high above the workbench to grab a bottle. Once he had it, he uncapped it, and poured some of the liquid onto the saddle in front of him, and then started to work it in with a rag.
Still not announcing his presence, Y/N watched the muscles of Clark’s back bunch and ripple with his motions. Drops of water were still clinging here and there, and Y/N no longer hesitated to move forward.
Sliding a hand around Clark’s abdomen, Y/N leaned in and licked at those stubborn droplets before Clark could even react. Clark started in his grasp, but leaned back as Y/N’s tongue touched his skin. “Y/N.”
Shivering at the breathlessness of Clark’s tone, Y/N didn’t answer. Instead, he moved on to the next droplet of water, and the next, sinking lower and lower, until he was on his knees behind Clark. Pulling hard on the waistband of Clark’s jeans, Y/N managed to pull them down another inch, so his tongue was gliding along the top of Clark’s ass, just dipping down in his crack.
Above him, Clark moaned and slammed his hands into the workbench, pushing his ass out against Y/N’s mouth. Smoothly getting to his feet, Y/N reached around Clark with his other hand, and started to undo the button of Clark’s pants. Only to have Clark capture his hands and turn in his grasp.
Before he could say anything, Clark was biting kisses into Y/N’s lips, and then licking at the sting. “Y/N, want you so bad. Please, Y/N. Please fuck me.”
Startled by the pleading in Clark’s voice already, it took Y/N a second to realize that Clark was trembling. Something he’d been doing for a while, Y/N suspected, only Y/N had been too preoccupied with Clark’s distracting body to realize it at first. “Jesus, Clark. What gotten you so worked up already? Making love to you is the plan, but I’ve just gotten started.”
The little cry of wanton despair that Clark let out had Y/N’s stomach clenching in sudden lust. “No! Not make love; I want you to fuck me! Please, Y/N. Over there.”
Looking in the direction Clark nodded in, Y/N saw hale bales stacked in roughly the size and shape of a double bed, with a thick blanket spread over them. He looked back at Clark with suspicion in his eyes. “Just how long did you know I was standing there, Clark? How long before I arrived did you know I was coming?”
The barked tone of his voice made Clark blanch, but he answered easily enough. “Sound travels far on a clear, windless Kansas day, Y/an, and you’re the only one in town with cars that sound expensive. Even without my super hearing, I knew you were coming at least five minutes before you got here.”
Y/N could feel his expression turn predatory, and judging from Clark’s small gasp, he could see it. Starting to move, Y/N half pushed, half herded Clark backwards towards the hay bales. “You want it that bad, Clark, then I can definitely oblige. I’ll fuck you so hard you’ll forget your name, your parents’ names, the names of your birth parents, and the name of your home planet. I’ll have you coming so hard you’ll black out.”
Loving the whimpers already coming from Clark, Y/N started to undo his own shirt and shrugged out of it. Clark shivered again, and stared at Y/N’s bare skin. The look on his face made Y/N harden more, even as he started on his pants. “If you want me to fuck you, then I suggest you get naked before me, or I’ll be forced to satisfy myself.”
That had Clark scrabbling at his clothes, and even without super speed, was completely nude before Y/N could even toe off his shoes. Putting a hand against Clark’s chest, feeling the trembling Clark couldn’t control, Y/N pushed hard enough to get him to sit.
Clark let out a cry as his ass hit the blanket, and Y/N dove in and swallowed it up. Clark’s reactions were ratcheting up Y/N’s own desire and lust, and he plundered Clark’s mouth, giving no quarter to Clark’s lesser experience.
Continuing to fuck his tongue into Clark’s mouth, Y/an reached down and grabbed Clark’s hard cock tightly. Clark arched back with a cry, separating his mouth from Y/N’s. “Fuck, Clark. Look at you. You’re ready to come already. You want to? You want to come; take the edge off?”
Clark’s answer was to plant his fists behind him, and use that as leverage to fuck his hips up into the tunnel Y/N’s fist provided. He snapped them up hard and fast, and Y/N grabbed his hair with his free hand, and dragged Clark’s mouth back to his.
The kiss was sloppy and uncoordinated, but Y/N didn’t care. He twisted his wrist at the same time that he plunged his tongue deep into Clark’s mouth. Keeping a firm grip on Clark’s hair, he prevented Clark from arching away, and Y/N suddenly felt Clark’s cock pulsing in his grip.
Yanking Clark’s head back, Y/N looked at him with blazing eyes. “Watch me, Clark.” Waiting until Clark’s eyes focused enough to see him, Y/N looked down. When Clark’s eyes followed his, Y/N wiped the come off his hand and onto his cock, coating himself with Clark’s spend.
Clark’s cock, which hadn’t completely softened, twitched and Clark let out a weak moan. In spite of his recent orgasm, his voice still sounded full of desire; it was if he hadn’t come at all. “Yes, Y/N. Do it. Fuck me. Please.”
Fighting for control, Y/N took a deep breath, and then looked Clark in the eyes. “I’m not going to be able to give you lots of time for prep, Clark, so I’m giving you a chance to--”
Y/N broke off when Clark sucked two of Lex’s fingers into his mouth, and swirled his tongue around them once before pulling them free. “I want this. I want to feel you filling me, fucking in to me hard and fast. Don’t make me wait any longer. Just fuck me.”
Eyes blackening with lust, Y/N pushed against Clark’s chest. “On your back. Hold your legs spread, in the air.”
With a cry of excited arousal, Clark did as he was told, and Y/N’s breath caught in his throat when he looked down at the splayed form of his lover. “Oh, you kinky bastard. Jesus Christ, Clark, are you trying to kill me?”
Reaching down between Clark’s splayed, upraised legs, Y/an grabbed the base of the vibrating dildo he could now clearly see protruding from Clark’s hole. He took a few moments to enjoy the stretched muscle clinging tightly to the toy.
Then, grabbing the protruding base, he pulled it all the way out, looking at it almost clinically. “It isn’t as thick around as I am. It won’t have stretched you enough.”
Even though it was a statement, Clark’s broken voice answered him. “I...I told you, I want to...oh, god...to feel you.”
A growl of want made it’s way out of Y/N’s throat at that, and he dialed the vibrations up higher and plunged the dildo all the way back in. Clark’s cry that time was much louder and more prolonged, and he arched up into it, his hips coming right off the blanket covered hay.
Unable to hold back, Y/N did it again and again, all but punching the toy back in every time he pulled it out. Y/N, who had always prided himself on keeping control while with a lover, could feel himself start to lose it as he watched Clark writhe and pant below him. Clark’s hard cock slapping his stomach, hands clenched into the blanket as he pushed up every time the dildo worked into him.
The only reason Y/N hadn’t come yet, was that he was totally caught up in watching Clark. Focused on giving him pleasure, on wringing every sound out of him possible. Y/N became mesmerized by the sight of the skin around the rim getting redder and puffier as he worked the dildo, of seeing the tip disappear back inside.
Y/N had no idea how long he’d been fucking Clark with it, when Clark suddenly grabbed his wrist. “Now, Y/N! Goddamnit, fuck me now!”
Clark’s voice sounded unbelievably wrecked, but the hoarse, desperate sound had its intended effect. It snapped Y/N back, and he threw the sex toy across the barn, and thrust himself inside. Clark’s shout of, “Yes!” merged while Y/N’s inarticulate shout of ecstasy as Clark’s tight heat closed around him.
Y/N didn’t stop until he was all the way in, and then only to wrap his arms around Clark’s thighs to drag him even closer. Locking eyes with Clark, Y/N changed tactics, and started to slide in and out slowly and gently.
Making a sound of frustration, Clark pushed his ass back against Y/N, trying to entice him to go faster. Y/N kept an iron grip on Clark’s thighs, however, so none of Clark’s efforts were successful. “Be still!”
Reaching down, Y/N ran a finger up and down Clark’s turgid length, rubbing over the crown and dipping into the slit. “Wearing a dildo all that time; I’m impressed, Clark. You would have had to keep yourself clenched tight around it constantly, so it wouldn’t slip out. Did you like knowing you were wearing it while I was watching it? Wearing it in public, knowing at any moment, someone could come along for a visit while you had it in. Did it thrill you, Clark?”
“Yes! I kept thinking about dropping my pants out there and playing with it. I imagined what would happen if you saw me do that, and I pictured an audience forming, all watching to see what I did to myself.”
The defiant tone in Clark’s voice was a little ruined by how wrecked and hoarse he sounded, but it didn’t ruin the effectiveness of what he was saying. “Jesus, Clark! You’re much kinkier than I gave you credit for. I love it.”
Sliding his hands around to the insides of Clark’s thighs, Y/N extended his thumbs and pressed them against the outer edges of Clark’s rim. Within a hair’s breath of touching himself as he moved in and out of Clark.
Then, he was touching himself, as he moved his thumbs further in. Y/N felt the slightly callused tips of his thumbs catch on the tight skin of Clark’s rim, and pulled very gently, at first. When all it did was start Clark thrashing on the blanket again, Y/N pulled harder.
Moving his thumbs just slightly, they pushed down past the rim a small amount, and Y/N had to take a deep breath to help control his reaction to the extra pressure along his erection. Clark didn’t bother to contain his reaction. “God, Y/N! Fuck! Please stop teasing me, and fuck me. Please!”
A dark chuckle worked its way out of Y/N’s mouth. “Those vibrations really did you in, didn’t they? I certainly understand your desperation better, now. More intense than you were expecting, wasn’t it?”
Clark’s only response was a sharp cry as one of Y/N’s thumbs slid all the way in. Using his free hand, Y/N manhandled Clark onto his side, the change in position enabling him to slot himself closer and slide in even deeper. It also allowed his thumb to more easily hit that spot inside of Clark.
Pressing his fingers against Clark’s perineum, and his thumb on the small nub inside, Y/N was able to stimulate Clark’s prostate from inside and out. Clark’s moans became almost continuous, and only ratcheted up in volume when Y/N increased the speed and force of his thrusts.
Putting one knee up on the bales, Y/N was able to lean over Clark and better see his face, and get even better leverage for fucking into Clark. “You have no idea what you made me want to do to you when I saw that toy inside of you, Clark. The ideas it put in my head.”
Y/N had to stop talking when he really looked down at Clark. Hips tilted, back arched, mouth open in ecstasy, arms thrown over his head. He was the picture of seductive abandon, and the sight made Y/N’s pleasure spike to critical levels.
Giving one last firm rub with his thumb and fingers, Y/N pulled his hand free, and wrapped it around Clark’s cock. Matching the movement of his hand with his hips, Y/N managed to sustain his rhythm for several more thrusts before his hips started stuttering. “Come with me, Clark! Come, now!”
Almost immediately, Clark’s cock started pulsing in Y/N’s grip. The feeling of Clark’s release, and the scent of his pleasure, triggered Y/N’s own. Thrusting deeply one more time, Y/N emptied himself into Clark’s body.
For an indeterminate amount of time, Y/N’s entire body shook and his cock pulsed, even after Clark went limp below him. Finally, Y/N collapsed over Clark, resting his forehead against Clark’s chest. He stayed like that for several minutes while he relearned how to breath, and his heart rate returned to more normal levels.
The expected embrace never came from Clark, and knowing how his lover enjoyed cuddling after sex, Y/N was surprised. Lifting his head, he reached out and cupped Clark’s cheek.
When he still got no response, Y/N stroked a thumb over Clark’s face. “Clark?” When that didn’t elicit reply, Y/N slid up so he could better see Clark’s face. What he discovered made him smile.
Clark was unconscious. Y/N smiled, quite satisfied. He always did try to keep his promises. Although, he had to admit, they weren’t usually as fun to keep as this one had been.

---------------
Sweat dripped off your nose as the sun’s burning rays shined down onto your face. Huffing breaths escaped you, while your legs were peddling. The market's vest would have blown off way behind you by now if it wasn't for the sweat that made it to cling to your front. Thank god Max lived only a 10 minute bike ride to her place from your work. You don’t think you could do the half an hour one to yours without a water break. Maybe wearing a long sleeve and jeans wasn't the best option of the day. But it was 60 when you left the house. How were you supposed to know that it was going to get up in the 90s by the time your shift ended.
The air conditioner in the back was so nice. And the fact your job was to only unload the new produce and other foods back there didn’t really give you the hint either. You muttered cuss words to yourself quietly as the bumping gravel made your jeans rub feverishly against your skin. It was almost certain that you’d get a rash.
Max would for sure have some of your clothes at her house you could snag back. You didn’t care what it was. The basketball shorts and oversized tee you left there accidentally at your last movie night. Or even the swimsuit that was a size too small from the beginning of spring break. It didn’t matter. All you wanted to do was get these sticky, smelly clothes off of you.
Your legs subconsciously went faster as the trailer park came into sight. The bike's tire smoothed across the rocks and grass. A cloud passed over much to your relief and you used the rest of your new found passion to hurry the hell up.
Your shoulders heaved up and down in an animated motion when you slowed down to a stop. Hunching over the handles you took a much needed couple of deep breaths.
“You good over there, L/n?” A familiar voice called from the right of you. Turning your head you caught sight of Eddie. A hose in his hand. His van drenched as suds were flowing into the grass. Eddie himself was in a white muscle-tee and some shorts. His pale skin blinding you more than the sun.
“Yeah, remind me to never wear jeans in the middle of August ever again,” you voiced back, getting up to place your kickstand. You took a couple steps closer to him while he took in your miserable state. Shuffling awkwardly as your workers vest even had sweat shown through it. The little plastic name tag with a smiley face pin on it didn’t look too smiley contrasted to your glum expression. He let out a couple chuckles in amusement.
“Lessons were learned though not?” he asked. His lip curled up in the corner slightly. You rolled your eyes, kicking off your shoes and pulling off your socks. Tossing them to the side. You were not in the mood for his teasing behavior. You stood with legs shoulder width apart as your arms spread out, eyes closed.
“Just spray me. Give me some sort of relief,” you practically begged. The sound of bike chains were heard behind you as Eddie gave you a generous douse of water. The clothes clung to your skin. Wiping the water from your eyes you turned to see the new visitors.
“Woah, didn’t know we had tickets to the gun show,” Lucas whistled. You let out a snort, snagging your shoes and socks from the ground, waving to Mike, Dustin, and Will on your way across the street.
“Thanks, Ed,” you called over your shoulder.
“Anytime.” Walking around to the back you took down a towel from the clothes line. Patting yourself down to get some of the water off. Then grabbing another one to wipe down the floors later. Approaching the deck you walked up the steps and noted the blinds were down. It didn’t raise your suspicion till you tried to open the slide screen door. It didn’t budge.
A little odd for the fact Max knew you were coming over when you called her around two. She said she would leave the it unlocked.
You tapped a finger on the window. Waiting for a response, your brows furrowed when you didn’t get one. Trying once again you still got nothing. Going down the stairs you shoved a hand into your pocket. Pulling out a couple keys and fishing through them. Finding the one marked with an M and clung to it.
You entered the front again. Glancing at the boys who were now soaked head to toe. Dustin had a pretty epic beard going on with the bubbly soap.
“Back so soon?” Mike called in your direction. His own body was covered in suds. Waving a hand in dismissal you went up to the front door. Knocking once more just in case.
“Max?” you yelled, knocking a little louder. The boys watched you with expressions of light confusion on their faces. You let out a huff of frustration before deciding to just unlock the door yourself, worry slowly building in your veins. Once the door was free you went to call again but stopped short, body freezing up.
The sight of Susan passed out on the couch, a hand falling near to the floor. However the line of vision from her hand led to a rolled away glass bottle of Jack Daniels and next to it was an unmoving Max. Your eyes widened and your body lurched into action. You fell to your knees, carefully maneuvering Max to face you. A visible red mark that was slowly turning into a jumbled mess of colors laid on her forehead. Tapping her cheek lightly you tried to receive some sort of response.
“Max, Max. Hey, c’mon.” Your hand moved to her neck. Checking for a pulse. As the throb of her heart met your fingertips an incoherent mumble passed her lips. A relieved sigh passed your lips. “Max, can you hear me?” A groan filled the quiet living space. You waited anxiously for to come to her senses. Slowly her cloudy eyes appeared behind their lids. Her hand slowly went to your cheek. Her thumb crossed your cheekbone.
“Y-Y/n?” She went to sit up but you carefully ushered her back down.
“It’s me. Just slow down for a sec. Let me-” You looked around the room before snagging a fallen pillow. You carefully pulled up her head and slid it under it. Once settled on the cushion, she moved a hand to the now prominent bruise. Wincing as she touched. You scanned her body, checking if there were any other marks. Not seeing anything major you went back to her face. Cupping her cheek lightly examining the injury.
“I don’t know what happened,” she spoke in a hushed voice. Placing her hand over yours. “I just remember you called. And I went to unlock the back but then... I-I must have slipped on something.” Your body went still. The realization of it all sinking in. You looked at the empty glass bottle, following the trail to the unconscious mother of year sprawled out across the couch. Without thinking you stood. Max’s hand clung to your briefly. “Where are you doing?” You didn’t answer as she called your name. Gabbing the pillow that Susan was currently drooling on you ranked it from under her. She jolted awake when her head hit the hard arm of the couch. A groan left her as she cradled her head.
“What the hell?” she mumbled, looking up at you with furrowed brows. Before looking down again as the sun’s rays beamed into her eyes. Her headache multiplied. “What are you-” You crouched down to her level, hands on your knees.
“It’s not fun hitting your head is it?” you questioned in a sarcastic tone. Still not fully coherent, she scanned the room in confusion. Eyes landing on Max who was slowly sitting up. The bump present as day. Susan went to call out to her in concern but you stopped her. “Maybe if you weren’t so wasted off your ass you’d realize your own daughter was passed out on the floor.” Susan's face scrunched up.
“Are you blaming this on me?” she asked in a rather offended voice. You scoffed.
“For the fact that there's just a convenient empty bottle of Jack just lying on the floor and you smell worse than the pub two blocks down? Yeah you just might have to take the blame,” you stated, pushing her to get up. She scrambled around, trying to gain traction on her feet while you practically hauled her to the door.
“What are you doing?” she all but yelled.
“Maybe this will give you a reality check to be an actual mom.” You pulled her out of the house, shoving her to the ground. She once again winced when she rounghy hit the soil. “I’ll let you back in when you’ll be some actual help.”
“This is my home. You can’t just kick me out of it.”
“I actually can and did.” You gave her a tight lipped smile before slamming the door and locking it. Huffing out a sigh you turned around to face Max. Only to meet with the sight of her wobbling to her feet. “Hey, stop,” you commanded gently, reaching her side. You took her arm and placed it over your shoulder then took yours under her knees and shoulders.
“What the hell just happened?” she questioned. She felt your shrug.
“I took out the trash.” Max’s brows furrowed.
“Did you just call my mom trash?” A soft chuckle passed her lips when you hummed in response, nudging her door open in the process. You placed her carefully on the mattress, laying her head on a pillow gently. You brushed a couple of stray hairs behind her ear. Frowning at the sight of her now purple mark.
“She needs to realize she needs to take care of you when you need it. And not be passed out almost daily from drinking. That should just be common sense but apparently not.” She bit her lip anxiously.
“I don’t need to be taken care of. I’m not some helpless little girl, y’know.” You hummed once more.
“I know but with everything that’s happened. You need a shoulder for support. It’s not the same anymore, Max. It’s alright to admit that you need help cause you do need it. That doesn’t mean you're weak. It means that you yourself know what your limits are and are strong enough to know when you need a little boost.” You sighed when you didn’t get a response. Stretching to your full height. “I’m gonna find an ice pack,” you murmured. You exited the room, turning to the kitchen and moving to open the freezer. Once getting the goods you headed back. Snagging a rag from a cabinet and wrapping the ice pack with it. You sat on the side of the bed, placing the object onto her lightly. She hissed through her teeth. Silence settled over the two of you.
“I know I need help,” she spoke softly. “It just sucks feeling helpless all the time and knowing I can’t do anything about it. I never thought that one day everything I ever cared for I would never be able to see again. I can’t see the sun or the stars. I can’t see you or the party or Steve's stupid hair. All I can see and will know for the rest of my life is fog. An endless void of fog.”
“You’re not helpless Max. You went through hell and back to get where you are now. I know it sucks losing your best key part to navigate, but I promise the people around you that care and are so happy that you are still here would be more than happy to help lead you through that fog.” You took her hand in your empty one. She took a deep breath and let it out slowly.
“Thanks, Y/n.”
“Anytime, honey.” Silence once again swept over you before she broke it again.
“Can I ask you something?”
“Ofcourse,” you responded. A light smile grew on her face.
“Why are you wet? I noticed it when you picked me up. You're almost soaked.” You let out a breathy laugh.
“Eddie gave me a hose down.”
“Eddie gave you a hoe down?”
“No! A hose down!”
“Jeez, I was about to say…”

Congrats on the 3 yr anniversary of your first Peaky series, Juli! 🎉 Could I pls request a drabble with Eva x Jack using the 3 word prompt “now or never”?
Thank you Lee 🖤
Here you go, i hope you like it
Now or Never
Tumblr media
“I am telling you, haricot beans are the superior beans, sweetheart.” Jack joked as he saw his wife pulling a twist on his mother’s recipe of Boston baked beans. He’d taught her the recipe the moment he saw she could actually do shit for herself. "Pinto beans will get you flayed at the church potluck next week."
“You weren’t complaining last sunday.” Eva points out as everything in the kitchen passed her last-minute inspection.
Alice, the maid he’d hired for her, pretty much served as company for his wife instead of the help. Between the two of them they’d gotten the house ready for the Nelson’s first dinner party with the neighbors next door.
The neighborhood had been friendly when he moved in, only for them to become cool and even downright shitty when they saw his wife.
Even Frank had not been able to get over her being a Mexican woman even when Jack made it clear he was to treat his wife like he’d treat him or find his chances at being president fly out the window with him.
Samuel and Helen had been nice, utterly oblivious to the sort of life Jack and Eva had behind closed doors and their kid, Robert, was not a pain in the ass even if he’d caught him looking at Eva’s fine ass when they were washing the car last Saturday.
He’d sprayed the kid with the gardening hose and Sam had laughed while Helen had apologized for the kid. Next thing you know they are hiding the guns, the knives, the whiskey and the personal massager that makes Eva stop speaking English all together when Jack positions it just right.
Fuck, Eva’s even wearing pastels. Shame all the buttons are gonna end up all over the place once the Williamses leave, she looks nice in pink. So sweet and innocent, you wouldn’t think she convinced him to fuck in a confessional the first time they met.
“I like your cooking, why do you think I took you up on your offer to walk in the evenings?” he nuzzled and kissed her neck as he pulled her onto his lap as he took the chair on the table for two in the kitchen. “Although, I’m not opposed to changing that exercise for a different one tonight.”
“I’ll hold you to it, amor.” she murmured and begrudgingly stopped him from getting a premeal workout.
Something that surprised him as Eva has never been one to deny him something they both want; it was only when the doorbell rang he understood why.
“Now or never, Evie.” He whispers when they compose themselves and open the front door.

A/n: vibrators of a sort existed, they were essentially hand-cranked personal massagers.
Franklin Delano Roosevelt was very anti-latino and purposely excluded Latinos from all his aid packages so we'd leave or die, you can see how that worked out for him.
I am loosley basing the Nelsons on the Kennedys and their lived a quiant suburban life before moving into the Kennedy Coumpoud in Hyannis Port, Boston.

Getaway Plan
Cash Wheeler X Wife reader
Summary: Cash get's arested and Y/n promises she will do anything to make sure they don't take him away from her
Main Masterlist Cash Wheeler Masterlist
Tumblr media
I always told myself that I would have a getaway plan. Who knows what would happen, who knows who I would marry? If anything ever happened I was ready. This getaway plan was more of a getaway bag. I had all of the basic things I would need to run away and escape. Clothing, batteries, flashlights. I had everything needed to survive if I was ever stranded in the woods. Along with that, I had fake IDs and passports, about 10k in cash, a burner phone and various weapons. It’s not like I was a criminal in hiding I just liked to be prepared just in case. If something ever went south I could grab my bag and go.
I sat in the living room with a glass of wine working on one of my latest art pieces when I got an unknown call on our landline. I knew it had to be important because who uses a landline anymore? I only kept it since it was hooked up with my security system. I picked up the phone and was greeted by a deep voice on the other line “Hello is this Mrs. Wheeler?” Oh god, what did Cash do now? “Yes, this is she '' I responded, trying to sound as polite as possible. “We have your husband here-” “I’m sorry who is this?” I cut off the man on the other line “This is the Orange County Florida state police. Your husband has been arrested due to aggravated assault with a firearm” What an idiot, this is why I have my bag and of course I had one for Cash. I just hoped Cash didn’t go saying anything stupid to the officers, remember anything you say can and will be used against you. This call and everything was being recorded. Maybe in a past life, I was a criminal because why was I always so prepared if something like this ever happened? Cash and I even made code words if we were put in the situation of our calls being recorded.
“You need to pick him up, ma’am. His bail is $2,500 that is to be paid in Cash.” “Can I speak to him?” I asked who I now assumed was a sheriff.  “Hi Hun-” I cut Cash off instantly “I’m going to come get you but it will take me a while, I’m a 5-hour drive away,” I told Cash “Sorry,” he told me “Don’t you say that word. Remember how we talked about the new garden we are going to plant?” I asked Cash, hoping he would get what I was trying to say. “The vegetable one?” he asked and I thanked whatever God existed that he got my hint. “Yes the veggie garden, I have to pick up some seeds and a new garden hose, so I will make a quick pit stop on my way. I’ll get my bags and I’ll see you soon” I told him before I hung up the phone.
The veggie garden was simply a reminder that everyone was rotten like an old tomato. Those people are not his friends, you are to say nothing without a lawyer. Everything is being recorded whether you realize it or not. He knew not to say anything without a lawyer. I just hoped I would get there in time without something worse happening.
I grabbed everything, jumped in the car and was on my way to get Cash. I was furious, I was mad that Cash did something so stupid. I didn’t know what led to the assault, I hoped it was for a good reason but I wasn’t sure what could have provoked him to assault someone with a gun. I didn’t even know he took a gun out with him. I didn’t stop to get seeds and a hose like I said I would. I already had those things, so I threw them in the car along with my bags. I just said that to buy me some time so no one would think the duffle bags in the car are suspicious. The drive to the police station was quicker than I thought. Maybe it was because no one was on the road at this hour or maybe it was because I was speeding and took every shortcut I knew. Three and a half hours later I was at the station picking up my husband. The moment I stepped into the station I felt everyone turn, I felt uncomfortable by their stares. “Can I help you, Ma’am?” said an officer at the front desk of the station. “I’m here to bail out my husband Cash Wheeler” I could see the look on the officer’s face drop. “I was the officer you spoke to on the phone. We will go get him. Do you have his bail?” “Yes I do, I’ll give it to you once I see my husband” I felt uncomfortable by the way the officer looked at me, I could see his eyes staring right at my boobs. “Is there anything else I can do for you, officer?” I asked him “Oh- I’m sorry. I just…I just. You’re much different than what I thought when I talked to you on the phone” What does that supposed to mean? I said nothing, I just walked away and waited for my husband. I saw Cash and he looked horrendous. He had a black eye and his lip had been busted open.
I handed the officer the bail money and asked what the next step here would be. “Your husband must turn over any and all weapons under his name to us within the next 12 hrs. He is to go no contact with the victims and any witnesses. We will keep in touch for his trial, what is the best way to contact you?” “My lawyer will contact you later this week. He is the best person to contact regarding this situation” With that we left.
The car ride was silent. “Y/n I’m so sorry” “I can’t believe you Cash. That’s a serious charge, it’s a third-degree felony. I hate saying this but you might go to jail! What were you thinking?!” “That’s the problem, I wasn’t thinking. I got pissed off and flashed a gun at a few people. I’m cooperating with the police, it was stupid and I regret it” “But how did it even escalate to the point where you flashed your gun?”  “Look, I know you drove all the way here but I really don’t want to talk about it Y/n” “Fine”
We continued to drive in silence for a while before Cash asked where we were going. “I don’t want to go home, we're going to go M.I.A for a few days. I already contacted the lawyers. I won’t let them lock you up. I know too many people, I’ll be able to make this go away. I promise”
I would do everything to keep that promise.

Tumblr media
Warnings: angsty angst, romance Aemond x reader, blood, close calls, zombies duh, major character death 💀
A/n: finally it is here! The highly requested pt 2! I think I’m going to make this a 4 part mini series
Tag list: @anaisbambia @valeskafics @wanderingcl0ud @dothrckis
*********
Our drive from the Apartment to the Targaryen mansion was a short one, only a forty minute drive, we pass by many bodies, we have Baela and Rhaena cover the younger boys eyes as we pass, when we make it to Alicent and Rhaenyra, the sun has already fallen past the horizon. When we exit our cars the hugs are bone crushing. We do once over again at their home to make sure everything is safe, gathering more supplies and weapons.
“We are safe here for the night, tomorrow we can head up to the cabin,” I say pulling away from the hug from Alicent, I look over at the others, “we should siphon the gas from your cars if that’s ok with you all, Jace and I have the biggest cars, they fit the most people, plus it’ll be safer. Aemond has the fastest car, it’ll be good on supply runs. Aunt Nyra do you still have the walkie-talkies? The ones for emergencies? As well as any guns you may have, I know how Uncle Viserys liked to hunt as well,”
“Yes, I’ll make sure to grab them before we leave in the morning, I don’t mind you taking the gas, not like we will need them anyway,” she says smiling sadly.
Aemond shakes his agreeing with me, “I do agree, I’ll grab the garden hose”
“Come, I’ll show you to your rooms for the night,” Alicents says while wrapping an arm around Daeron and walking in the house.
“I’ll take the first watch, uh we should also sleep in shifts, you never know what’s out there, survivors? Zombies? Could be any threat,” I say while smiling at my two surrogate moms. Alicent and Rhaenyra raised me while my parents were away on business. I would do anything and everything in my power to protect them and the rest of their family, my family.
“Ok sweet girl” Rhaenyra says as she kisses the top of my head, “Jace and Aemond, you should join her, keep each other safe,”
The two boys shake their heads in agreement.
“We need to leave by sunrise if we want to get a good amount of drive into tomorrow,” Rhaenyra says as she follows the rest of her family into the house.
Once I know for sure that everyone else is inside safe and no one but the three of us can hear me, I utter my next statement.
“I um, I almost died today,” I start as I sit on the front porch with the guys leaning against the rails, looking up at me with concern, guns at their sides while the bloodied bat lays in my lap.
“When me and Cregan checked the first apartment one of those things was hidden. He got on top of me, but Cregan was able to save me. These things are strong but if we hit them hard enough in the head with something sturdy we can end them. I’m pretty sure swords and knives work well if you pierce the brain.”
“So we just bash these suckers in the skulls, save our bullets for bigger groups of them and take out single ones with a bash like they did in The Walking Dead ,” Jace says excitedly.
“Jace this isn’t some show, this is real life right now,” Aemond scolds.
“No, Jace is on to something here, we only have two guns with us currently, we’re gonna need more weapons that don’t need bullets. Aem, do you and Aegon still have your little league bats?” I ask, looking at him.
“Yeah they’re in the garage, I’ll have Aegon grab them before we leave tomorrow. Come on let’s start siphoning the gas,”
We begin the tedious task of siphoning, the moment I taste the gasoline I put the hose in the gasoline tank, spitting out the reminisce from my mouth.
Something moving beyond the hedges gets the three of us on alert.
“What was that?” Jace whispers, hand tightening on the shotgun.
“I’m not quite sure…you guys hang back and continue with the gas” I say as I step forward towards the hedges. As I step closer, another one of the zombies comes walking through. I swing my bat hard enough, ending it, I turn back towards the two walking back when more noises come from the hedges. Ten more of the dead come walking through right after it, fuck.
I look back towards Aemond and Jace, “GET THE OTHERS NOW IT'S NOT SAFE HERE ANYMORE, NOW GO JACE!” I scream, turning back around to swing at the head of the zombie. Aemond soon joins me firing off shots from the pistol.
We start moving back up towards the house as we can hear the frantic running of feet towards the cars, “Aegon grab your little league bats from the garage, we’re gonna need them,” I say behind my shoulder.
“Fuck I’m out,” Aemond says as he pushed me behind him, i grab his arm and pull him along with me to the cars, he gets into the passenger seat of my car as I get into the driver seat. Alicent, Jace and I all start the cars just as an even bigger hoard of the dead comes walking through the hedges. We pull them out like crazy.
“Here Y/n, the walkie-talkie mom found, she said put it on channel 2,” Baela says from the back seat.
“Thanks sweetheart,” I say grabbing it while steering with one hand, “Alright, just follow me, and if we for whatever reason get separated, Cregan will guide you guys to the cabin,”
“Alright,” Heleana replies over the walkies, “We’ve got our car loaded with the guns,”
“And I’ve got the Bats in the truck,” Aegon says from behind me as well.
“Alright, it’s about a 22hr drive to Winterfell, we should get there by the day after tomorrow if we take shifts driving.
“Sounds like a plan,” Cregan agrees.
“Sound good sweetie,” Alicent says.
I check the time and see that it’s just hitting midnight, I involuntarily yawn causing Aemond to look over and check on me.
“Hey if you need me to drive, do you can rest, let me know ok, we need you at 100%” Aemond says, laying a hand on my thigh.
“Of course, I’ll let you know when I need the shift change,” I smiled up at him.
12 HOURS LATER
I’m shaken awake by Aemond as we pull to the side of the road, a clearing. Baela and Aegon had taken the front seats sometime while I was sleeping.
“Hey come on we made it just outside Harrenhal, we’re stopping for a much needed stretch and to eat food,” Aemond says gently, “we’ve already scoped it out as well so we should be safe for at least a few hours,”
“we could drive into harrenhal, get some more supplies and weapons, we need to save our bullets. In fact I’m sure we’d find more ammo there as well. We need melee weapons, and everyone needs to learn how to shoot,” you say, stepping out of the car walking to your small group.
“Hey Y/n/n, here I saved you some beef jerky,” Heleana says holding up a stick.
You smile at her, “Thanks Hel,” you bite into the tough meat, swallowing before you choose to speak.
“We need more supplies, water, weapons and gas. A few of us should head into Harrenhal to grab what we need, we can’t all go. I’ll go for certain but Cregan you need to stay in case anything happens to me, you get the rest of them to the cabin,”
“I’ll go with,” Aegon says, “Might as well make myself useful,”
“I’ll go too, we can all pile in my car,” Jace says, standing up and gripping the shotgun.
“Then it’s settled, Aemond you and Cregan can start training them on how to shoot, you the guns sparse until we get back with more ammo,” I said walking to the back of my car getting the bats and handing them to Aegon and Jace. Jace hands over the shotgun to his Nyra.
Alicent and Nyra both go over to their respective kids giving them words of encouragement and kisses on their heads, they both turn to me and pull me into a hug.
“You come back to us too,” Nyra says, holding my face in her hand.
“I will aunt Nyra,” I smile at her, “Come on, let's head out,” I say, walking to Jaces SUV.
“Y/n, wait, before you go,” Aemond says while jogging to me.
“Yeah wha-“ he cuts me off with a kiss, hands on my cheeks. I deepen the kiss, swiping my tongue across his bottom lip. We pull away when someone coughs. I look away and sniffle, placing the back of my hand over my lips.
“You come back to me,” Aemond says, pulling me into a tight hug.
“I will,” I say, kissing him once more and climbing into the car, “come on let’s go, so we can be back before the sun goes down,”
Harrenhal is just as bad as we thought, zombies surround the entire place. We were able to park about a mile away, bats at the ready.
“Come on the pharmacy looks clear, if we are quick we can hit up the market and the game and wildlife store after,” Aegon says as we run to the back door, trying to avoid the zombies.
“Alright we spread out,” I say, holding the bat out in front of me as we check for zombies.
We spread out, filing our backpacks with any medical supplies and medicine we can find. I go to the feminine hygiene area and stock up.
Aegon whistles, “Hey Y/n/n” he holds up a box of condoms waging his eyebrows at me. I flip him off with a smile.
“Hey do we need antibiotics?” Jace says behind the counter.
“Yeah grab it all, we never know when we would need something” I say turning back towards him only to be ambushed, “Shit!”
I push it away and bash it in the head, it’s blood and juices getting over my face and clothes. Aegon and Jace rush over to me.
“Fuck, Y/n are you ok?” Aegon asks, dropping his bag and bat, holding my face in his hands looking all over me.
“I’m fine, I didn’t get bit or scratched, I’m ok”
“Alright, can’t have you dying on us, you hold this group together,” he says smiling.
“Come on, I think we’re good here, let’s head to the market, we can get canned food and water” Jace says.
“Yeah come on, it seems we've cleared out this place to last us a while,” I say, looking out the front door and checking to see if any zombies were near, only a few. I open the front door and motion for the other to follow.
We run over to market, clearing out the few walkers we see as we enter. We head in the same direction this time to avoid the pharmacy fiasco. We go down each aisle getting cans of food, and water filling up our bags the rest of the way.
“Holy shit!” Jace yells, causing me and Aegon to turn towards him fearing the worst, “look guys twinkies!”
Our faces light up, we rip open the sweet treat and bite into them. We all moan in delight, grabbing boxes of the snack cakes, taking them to the group would definitely raise some spirits especially in those of the children. As we finish packing up supplies including getting some knives from the kitchen section.
Finally making it to the game and wildlife store Aegon and I take off our duffles and open them up, filling it with hunting knives, riffles, handguns and ammo. You also grab the camping gear and some sleeping bags as well. We also clean house, it’s a great start to your otherwise bigger haul in the future by the time you make it to the cabin.
As we are headed out the door, I notice an ax. I pick it up and head back to the car loading up and cheerfully laughing with my two friends. When we make it back everyone smiles as though everyone has let out a breath they’d been holding since we left.
Aemonds runs up to me, trying to pull me into his chest but I put one hand up. “No I have zombie blood and guts all over me”
“I don’t care, I knew you’d make it back in one piece, you and my brother and cousin,”
I smile up at him and kiss his nose, causing him to blush, I pull away from him and walk towards the rest of the group, “We grabbed more than enough food to last us til we made it back to the cabin and possibly even more. We got these though we figured it would cheer you guys up?” I say pulling out the twinkies we managed to find. The kids and even Nyra and Alicents faces light up at the treats.
“Y/n, they’re all decent shots now, but I don’t think we should travel anymore today, we can pick up the driving tomorrow, if we leave by day break we could get there tomorrow,” Cregan says.
“Alright, that sounds like a good idea, we got more guns and knives. Everyone gets a knife, when a zombie gets near you, you use the knife, right to the head,” I instruct, as I sit down by the small fire they’ve created.
By day break we begin packing up the trucks, getting ready to head back on the road. Groaning can be heard coming back from the trees, zombies appearing.
We get the smaller children into the car along with Nyra and Alicent who shoot from the open windows. We begin stabbing the undead in their heads, soon we have finished them all off.
We let our guard down for a brief moment. That moment is destroyed by Luke’s screams of agony. I quickly turn and stab the zombie's head, he soon releases Luke and the young boy falls into my arms as I put pressure on his bite.

IV.
CW: Carl gets shot
A few days after the disaster of the CDC, the group decided to abandon some of the cars. It's easier to keep you all together, and you don’t have to use as much gas. You ride in the RV with Adi and Gracie.
Jesse is upset at you again, so he elects not to ride in the RV. So there you sit watching Andrea fiddle with her gun while Shane instructs her. Everyone has been tense about the CDC situation. You could tell that some people in the group were upset with each other.
“How much longer do you think until we get there?” you ask Dale.
“I have no idea. The highway is blocked up pretty bad.” he tells you, “Oh jeez. Aw no. See, a way, though?”
Daryl nods at Dale and nods his head to follow him.
“Uh, maybe we should just go back; there's an interstate bypass.” Glenn suggests.
“We can’t spare the fuel.” Dale tells him.
“Jeez.” Glenn says, looking at all the abandoned cars.
Then the engine starts sputtering, and you realize that the radiator hose is shot yet again.
“God damn it. Not again.” you say.
“I said it. Didn’t I say it?” Dale starts complaining, “A thousand times. Dead in the water.”
You and everyone who was in the RV get out to examine the damage done by the trashed radiator hose.
“Problem, Dale?” Rick asks.
“Just a smal matter of being stuck in the middle of knowwhere with no hope of-” Dale then looks around, “Okay wait that was dumb.”
“If you can’t find a radiator hose here…” Shane says to Dale.
“There’s a whole bunch of stuff we can find.” Daryl says.
You walk over to where Jesse is. He is listening to the conversation from the car he was riding in with Rick's family and Carol and Sophia.
“Can you stay in the car with Gracie?” you ask him, “She is ready for a nap and I think it would be better if she was with someone.”
“Yeah, sure. Whatever.” he said to you.
You knew he was upset with you. That was no secret to anyone. Why he was upset with you nobody knew except for you and him. You passed Gracie over to him and he got back into the car with her to give her a nap.
“Adi, maybe you should stay with Jesse in the car until we get moving again” you tell her.
“No, I wanna help you find things. I can help.” she tells you, “I promise I will stay with you.”
“Okay, but you stay with me the entire time. Okay?”
“Okay.”
So you and Adi went to look for food, water, medicine, and supplies. You went through a few cars before you found a medicine bag. When you opened it you found general meds like Ibuprofen, Advil, Claritin, and Tylenol.
“Y/N look!” Adi says pointing at something in a suitcase she had opened.
When you walked over you found some clothes that would fit Adi and some toys.
“Good find Adi.” you tell her, smiling down.
“Thanks.” she says back with a smile.
You and her continue to go through cars together until you find something that you didn’t expect to ever see. You walk over to where Adi is looking though bags you click and hear a soft whirling. She turns around to see you pointing a camera at her. Not just a camera, but a polaroid.
“What was that?” she asks you.
“Look,” you tell her, as a picture comes out the top, “this is an old camera people used to use before digital or disposables.”
She grabs the picture and looks at it.
“But nothing is on it.” she tells you.
“Well it takes time to develop,” you tell her, “you see if you-”
You were cut off by Lori telling you and Adi to get down. That's when you see it. Dozens of walkers. You pull Adi down under a truck by where Sophia and Carl are hiding. You look over to where Carol is hiding with Lori and see her crying with Lori's hand covering her mouth.
You all stay like that for what feels like hours. Until you see that the herd of them is thinning out to where only one walker is going by at once, and after a while no more come around the vehicles. Then it is finally safe. You watch as Sophia goes to get out from under the truck. Then you see another walker grab at her. She successfully escapes that one but then runs into another when escaping from the other side.
She runs into the woods away from the walkers as they stumble to get her. Rick chases after her trying to protect her from the walkers.
“Lori. There’s two walkers after my baby.” Carol cries to Lori.
Lori shh’s her and comforts her. You don’t hesitate to run back to the car to check on Jesse and Gracie. You find that Jesse is alright and Gracie is still sleeping. Then you run back over to where the group is waiting for Rick to come back. After a while he does come back but not with Sophia.
“I found her. I thought that she may have come back on her own after I left her.” Rick tells you.
“You left my baby, alone?!” Carol yells at him.
“It was only for 10 or so minutes while I took down the walkers.” he tells her, “I will go back out to look for her.”
“I will come with you.” Daryl tells Rick, “I can track where she went if you show me where you left her.”
“Okay then we will go out right now and look,” he tells the group.
“I will go too.” Shane says.
“If he’s going, so am I.” Glenn tells Rick.
“So will I.” you tell them.
“I don’t think that's a good idea.” Rick tells you.
“Yeah I have to agree with Rick here.” Shane says, “It's safer for you to be here.”
You go over to Rick and whisper into his ear “Listen Carol is in no condition to be going out looking for Sophia. It would be better if I came instead of her and she will definitely want to go if I’m not.” Rick nods his head at your statement.
“Okay so me, Y/N, Shane, Glenn, and Daryl will all go out to look for Sophia.” he annonces to the group.
Just before you all leave to go back out Carol pulls you aside to give you a hug and tells you thank you. You and the group all walk back to where Rick says he left Sophia.
“Sure this is the spot?” Daryl asks.
“I left her right here.” he tells Daryl, “I drew the walkers way off in that direction up the creek.”
After Daryl found some of her tracks he concluded that she had in fact listened to what Rick said about keeping the sun on her left shoulder and had headed back to the highway.
“She was doing just fine until right here. All she had to do was keep going. She veered off that way.” Daryl tells you pointing at the foot prints Sophia had made.
“Why would she do that?” Glenn asks.
“Probably a walker or she heard what sounded like one.” you said to the group.
“I don’t see any footprints. Just hers.” Daryl said to you.
“So what do we do? All of us press on?” Shane asks.
“No,better if you and Glenn get back up to the highway.” Rick tells Shane, “People are gonna start panicking. Let them know we're on her trail doing everything we can. But most of all, keep everybody calm.”
“I'll keep 'em busy scavenging cars. Think up a few other chores. I'll keep 'em occupied. Come on.” Shane tells Rick, before ushering Glenn away from us.
Rick, Daryl, and you all continue on following Sophia's tracks until you find a walker. Rick distracts it while Daryl shoots an arrow at its head.
“Sophia!” Daryl shouts while Rick goes up to the walker. You follow Rick in investigating the walker.
“What are you looking for?” Daryl asks Rick.
“Skin under the fingernails. It fed recently. There’s flesh caught in it’s teeth.” Rick tells him.
“So what are we gonna do?” you ask.
“What kind of flesh is it?” Daryl asks you and Rick.
“Only one way to know for sure.” Rick says getting out a knife.
“Oh my god. You can’t be serious.” you say.
“Here, I'll do it.” Daryl tells Rick, “How many kills you skin and gut in your life? Anyway, mine is sharper.”
You and Rick look on while Daryl opens the body taking out the guts. What seems like more than normal Daryl says that he had a meal not too long ago. Daryl continues cutting and apparently finds what he is looking for.
“Here's the gut bag.” Daryl says as he plops down an organ.
“I got this.” Rick says.
You watch as he cuts open the so-called gut bag. Daryl pulls out chunks of fur and meat from it.
“This gross bastard had himself a woodchuck for lunch.” Daryl says after examining the remains.
“At least we know.”
“This woodchuck was not worth smelling this.” you tell them sniffing the air. You all stand up and walk away when you trip. You fall right into the cut open walker.
“Oh. What the fuck.” you exclamin trying to pick yourself up from the corpse.
“Shane found a bunch of water. You can wash up when we get back.” Rick tells you.
“Yeah, but my goddamn clothes are ruined.” you tell him looking at your now nasty and stained t-shirt.
“Find some clothes for you too.” Daryl says.
You all continue to follow Sophia's trail until it goes cold. Then Daryl tells you both that you should head back without him so he can continue to look.
“Daryl it's getting dark out we don’t have any lights it's pointless to be out past dark.” you tell him.
“We can’t just leave her out here all night.” he tells you.
“Daryl, as much as I don’t like leaving her out all night there is no point in continuing when it's dark.” Rick says agreeing with you.
“Fine,” he says angrily.
All three of you head back to the highway before it gets too dark. After a while of walking all of you are back at the highway. The group approaches the railing where you are walking up to the highway.
“You didn't find her?” Carol asks.
“Her trail went cold. We’ll pick it up at first light.” Rick tells her.
“Is that blood?” Carol asks, looking at you.
“We took down a walker.” Rick says.
“Walker? Oh my god.” Carol starts to hyperventilate.
“There was no sign it was anywhere near Sophia.” Rick says to her.
“How can you know that?” Andrea asks.
“Trust me. We found out the hard way.” you tell her.
“We can’t just leave her out there!” Carol yells.
That night you can hear Carol crying. You barely sleep as it is but hearing her all night makes you feel guilty. If you had stayed out in the woods for a few more minutes would you have been able to find her. If you had originally ran to find her with Rick you could have helped. It hurts.
“What about the guns?” Andrea asks the next morning while you are all preparing to go out again to find Sophia.
“We’ve been over this. Only Daryl, Rick, and I are carrying.” Shane tells her, “We can’t be firing off rounds every time a tree rustles.”
“It’s not the trees I'm worried about.” Andrea tells him.
“Y/N can I speak with you?” Jesse asks you quietly.
“Uh-” you see Rick telling people the plan, “Yeah make it quick.”
“I don’t want you to go.” He tells you bluntly.
“What? Why?” you ask him.
“You should stay here with Gracie and Adaline.” he tells you.
“Jesse I get the whole concern thing over me, okay?” you tell him, “but I’ve been out in harm's way more than you. I can handle myself.”
“It’s not that.” he says before trying to find the right words, “If you get hurt, or die, what am I supposed to do with the kids.”
“What do you mean? It's the exact same thing if you died.” you tell him, “You raise them and teach them.”
“Let me rephrase. What am I supposed to do with Adaline?” he asks.
“What do you mean? Why is she different from Gracie?” you ask.
“You know what, never mind.” he says after that.
“Wait, wait, wait, what do you mean?” you ask pissed off now.
“We can talk about it when you get back from running away from your problems.” he says to you before pushing past you.
You can see him walking back to where Gracie and Adi are still sleeping in the car. You focus your attention back on Rick. He is answering questions the others have about the search. One of the group is not paying attention and that would be Daryl. He is looking at you, you don’t doubt that he could probably hear the whole conversation. After you are handed a machete the group sets off. You try to focus on the search, but in the back of your head you keep thinking about what Jesse said.
All of you walk for a while until you find a tent. Daryl goes to check the tent and tells us that she isn’t in there until the group hears a church bell ringing.
“What direction?” Shane asks.
“I think that way. I’m pretty sure.” Rick tells him.
“Damn, it's hard to tell out here.” Shane says.
“If we heard them then maybe Sophia did too.” Carol says.
You all decided to run towards where Rick heard the bells coming from. There you find a church. It has no steeple which makes Shane think that this is the wrong church. All of you ran into the church to see if anyone was in there. All you find are some walkers. The group takes down all of them in a few minutes, which makes you think that you all are getting better at the whole fighting thing. Then you hear the bell again.
“It’s on a timer.” Daryl says.
“I’m gonna go back in for a bit.” Carol says to us.
“Okay.” you tell her.
You walk over to a bench that has a view of the whole cemetery. You look out amongst the graves. It's quiet, after moving so much these last few days it's weird but nice.
“Why were you and Jesse arguing?” Daryl asks from behind you.
“It’s… complicated.” you tell him.
“Trust me I know all about complicated relationships with brothers,” he says. You look over to him and he seems genuinely interested.
“Jesse and Grace were sent down here to stay with me. My parents were getting divorced and they didn’t want them to be in the middle of it. Jesse was not very happy about it.” you explain, “I moved down here for college because I saw the divorce from a mile away. While I was down here I got a job at a daycare. When this shit started I was there. Adi’s parents were late that day. I waited for a few hours with her until...” you pause, “I left right away with her and went back to my apartment. Then we left.”
“Why was Jesse upset about Adi though?” Daryl asks.
“In the beginning, he wanted to go back up North and try to find my parents but I couldn’t just take Adi. We were supposed to drop her off at the refugee center in Atlanta but the road got super jammed and nobody was moving. That's when I met Lori and Carol. After a week or so in camp Jesse wanted to leave again but I felt safer with the group than by ourselves.” you tell him.
“He wants to leave now?” He asks you.
“I don’t know. Probably. Teenage boys are hard to decipher.” you answer.
“Why don’t you now?” he asks. You look at him.
“I don’t want to be alone.”
The plan was simple enough. Rick and Shane went a little further for the night before heading back. The rest of you were supposed to go back to the highway. Then Carl said that he wanted to go. Then you told them that if they were all going that you wanted to go to. So you set off to find her for another hour or so.
“Dad, look.” Carl says pointing at a deer that was crossing in the sunlight. It was a gorgeous scene. Until it wasn’t. It happened so fast one second Carl was admiring the deer the next he was down on the forest floor.
You immediately go to help him. You take the flannel you were wearing and press it down on his wound. Rick falls down next to him.
“Rick, I need you to press down on this for me. Okay?” You ask him, he follows your instructions.
You put your head to his chest to hear his heartbeat. It doesn't sound good but he is still alive and breathing. Next thing that happens is you hear something big coming from the forest. He is apologizing profusely, but right now you are focused on keeping Carl alive.
“I can get help for him, there is someone who can help.” he tells you.
Rick picks him up and we all start running. Ultimately you and Rick run way faster than Shane and the other man can. Every so often Rick will get tired of carrying Carl and you help him get situated again before starting to run.
“How far? How far?” Rick shouts at him.
“Another half mile that way. Hershel. Talk to Hershel. He will help your boy.”
The closer and closer you get to the place the more you realize that you are on a farm. As you approach the house you see people coming out.
“Was he bit?” the older man asks.
“Shot. By your man.” Rick tells him.
“Otis?” A woman speaks up.
“We need help. Now.” you say urgently to the older man.
“Get him inside.” he tells you.
You help Rick get Carl inside the house. He lays him down on a bed and backs away. You take the rags from Hershel and press on Carl's abdomen.
“Keep applying pressure to the wound.” he tells you, “What's your names?”
Rick doesn’t say anything.
“Y/N and Rick.” you tell him.
“Okay well we are going to do everything we can. Okay?” He reassures you. “You can move now.”
“I was a nursing student.” you tell him, “I can help.”
“I think right now I would prefer to work with people I know.” he tells you.
“Yeah, right.” you say backing off of Carl slowly while one of the women replaces your hands with their own. You gently take Rick out of the room to see Shane.
“Is he alive?” the man asks who shot Carl.
“What the hell were you thinking? You ever hunt before today?” you ask him.
“Of course I’ve hunted before. I just-” you cut him off.
“Yes, he's alive. Lucky thing because the bullets are still inside.” you tell him. Before walking back inside.
Walking into the room where Carl was, you see both Hershel and the women looking at you with pity.
“Your son is extremely lucky he isn’t dead right now, but he is losing a lot of blood and is going to need more.” he tells you, “Can you or your husband donate to him?”
“Rick isn’t my husband and Carl isn’t mine. But I have type O blood so I am more than happy to donate.”
“Oh I am sorry. Come here.” he tells you, holding up the equipment you would assume for the transfusion. A few minutes later Carl wakes up screaming after Hershel tries to get one of the fragments of the bullet out.
“Stop! You're killing him!” Rick yells coming into the room.
“Rick, do you want him to live?” Hershel asks him.
Hershel tells Rick that he needs to put Carl under to get out the rest of the pieces. Shane and Otis leave to get the supplies while Maggie goes to get Lori.
About an hour later you see Lori coming up to the house. You are sitting on the porch drinking orange juice and eating a cookie. Rick is in Carl's room giving him another blood transfusion.
“How is he? Is he alive?” Lori asks you from a distance.
“He needs surgery, Lori. He’s been getting blood transfusions from me and Rick for the past hour.” you tell her.
“What are his chances?” she asks you.
“You need to ask Hershel that. Not me, I'm sorry.” you tell her.
“You have nothing to be sorry for sweety.” she tells you while walking into the house to see her son.
You sit back down on the porch and look up at the sky. It’s calm for a minute until you hear Lori crying. This brings you back to the reality of your world. It’s not calm anymore.
