Ackles-Hoechlin family part 2

It was the start of pride month yesterday and I was manning a stall for my LGBT+ charity in my local shopping centre. Such great turnout though there were a couple of nasty bigots.

But what made everything worth it for me was hearing and telling our stories. One lovely old lady, possibly in her 70s recounted how she worked in one of the areas first gay bars. She is heterosexual herself but she has a great love of the community and has fought for our rights for years, even before her daughter came out as lesbian.

I ended up recounting my own personal experience of coming out, about how my entire extended family abandoned me. Grandparents, uncles, aunties, cousins. And even my dad, who didn't speak to me for 12 years.

It doesn't trouble me any more. But this woman became so upset over my treatment that she was brought nearly to tears and came around my stall and hugged me. And that was the first time anyone has shared grief with me over how I was treated and showed compassionate humanity. That simple act of kindness genuinely made me emotional.

The dads have a great child

The ideal family: sweet gay dads, their idiot gay son and a pretty flower. @absolutebl we need more gay dads for BL boys forever more.

The search continues with these two attending their child’s Cutie Mark ceremony and I have a little surprise for you all, I found out that the pony with the glasses is named Diggy with lover still unknown.

Like father, like son

Family portrait 2023!

2022 was a year of massive change, not only externally, but internally for me as well. I lived alone for almost ten years, and in that time I struggled so much with my depression, my loneliness, and what I now know was my ADHD making it hard for me to make any space feel like my home in any meaningful way. I was close to my biological family in miles, but there was (and still is) a big part of myself and my life that I simply don't share with them because it's healthier for me to have boundaries around parts of my heart. 

Having my wife move in with me made a huge difference, but when we made our move and bought a home that was ours, really and truly ours, it was a massive perspective shift for me. I felt like I was home for the first time in years. I've made such a different connection with my brother-in-law who lives with us, and with the rest of my wife's family, and I finally feel seen and loved for all parts of me. Finding this sense of home and family feels like a miracle, and I'm so grateful for it every single day

I can't stop posting them, this is a screenshot from Season 6 episode 3 during the powerful and inspirational song “Magic in Us”. This moment with here we have Diggy, Zander (yes, that's his name) and their son who we still don't know the name yet are doing the most family thing EVER. However, I feel like this series is ending, I hope now though *sigh* let’s just let them have this moment together cause they deserve it after Opaline’s attack.
