I love the trope of the badass character who can face impossible odds time and time again and still walk away. The ones who can take on an entire room of guards or a league of assassins by themselves through their fighting skills, marksmanship, or intellect.

However, nothing bores me more than when this character does this and walks away without a scratch. It just shows there are no real stakes and the character is never in any real danger so what's the point?

Instead, give me a hero outnumbered 30 to 1 and who still wins, but they are shot up, bloody, bruised, and broken. Let them barely make it back to their safe house before collapsing in pain and exhaustion. Let them have to be patched up or out of commission for a while so they can heal. THEN I will believe there are actual stakes to future conflicts and there is a chance that character might not make it out the next time. Doing this will leave me on the edge of my seat the next time they find themselves in a similar situation instead of just sighing as they once again avoid hundreds of bullets without a scratch.

Without showing that they are human who aren't perfect and can actually be hurt, you lose so much empathy and emotional attachment to the character.

So, let them bleed. Let them be in pain. Let them struggle. Then let them get back up and continue on despite all of that.

That's the badass I want to see.

This man absolutely follows his partner around like a lost puppy everywhere, everywhere.

Don’t get me wrong, Frank loves being dominant, loves taking control of you, mind and body, but there are days where he just needs to take a break, days where he doesn’t want to think for himself.

On those days he starts arguments, and has an attitude until you decide you’ve had it with his behavior, with him. Some days Frank puts up a fight, he’ll be bratty, he’s giving you lip until you fight him into submission which is difficult. But on those days where he just gives in. No arguments, no talking back. Those are the days where you know he’s having a really rough time.

Frank is willingly to do anything on those days, he’ll listen and do as told, he’ll beg. He’ll get on his knees while looking up at you, kissing your thighs, pleading for even just a look at your chest or under your skirt.

He’s so shameless when he’s in a submissive headspace, he loves doing anything in his power to please you. Frank adores your whimpers, moans and whines, any noises that escape your lips from his doing is music to his ears.

Now I don’t think he’s the type to call you mommy in bed…but there has definitely been times where the word is on the tip of his tongue. There has been times where you just make him feel soo good and he just wants to groan ‘Mommy.’

The Daredevil costume was fucking itchy.

It was also tight, Dex grunting as he moved, the fabric scraping against some bruises on his ribs as he sat up on the roof, watching the building.

A heavy pair of footsteps appeared behind him before they scraped to a stop and Dex turned around, ready to ask what the hell the person was staring at before he stopped as well.

The Punisher was standing right behind him.

He looked every bit as intimidating as the media portrayed him. Buzzed hair with dark eyes that seemed to pierce into Dex. That white skull emblazoned onto his clothing, subtle.

Dex stood, The Punisher eyed him, like he was examining him over. The other man’s jaw clenched. Dex thought Fisk had mentioned something about Daredevil and Punisher having fought together, he nodded to him,

“Hello”

“Hey again” Punisher said, those dark eyes still staring into him. Dex speaking again,

“What brings you around here, Punisher?” he asks, “Kitchen’s my turf”

The brick of the roof colliding with Dex’s back knocks the wind out of him, for such a large man, he didn’t expect the other to move that fast.

“Where’s Red?”

“Pardon?” Dex coughs up and Punisher chuckles, a dry and sarcastic noise as he has Dex pinned,

“You think I haven’t heard? About you killing folks? Red doesn’t do that, would never fucking do that, you aren’t him…he doesn’t fucking call me by that name”

Dex internally cusses. Apparently the Punisher and Daredevil were closer than he thought, it’s obvious as the former leans down to snarl in his ear, voice dripping with barely restrained fury,

“I’ll ask again, where’s my Red?”

As someone who was raised in a strict Catholic household, I’ve gained a new appreciation for how Daredevil season 2 was written. It’s still my least favorite DD season, but I love that it’s a season where the main issue that the Catholic protagonist has to deal with is temptation to sin. There’s Frank Castle, who tries to tempt Matt into breaking his no-kill code and accept that bad people aren’t worthy of redemption. Then there’s Elektra Natchios, who tempts Matt into thinking that a life of excess and sin isn’t so bad. Steal expensive cars, break into people’s houses, beat up people who wronged you, etc.

It’s like that season is Matt dealing with the “devils” on his shoulders, Frank and Elektra, telling him to do bad things and stray away from God.
