I really enjoy Julian's close friendships because I feel like they all say something really succinct about Julian as a genetically engineered character. Everything about them makes perfect sense.

Jadzia is because she's adventurous - the show points this out - but it's also because she's lived long enough and seen enough shit, there might actually be a chance of her accepting him as an augment, which is why Julian becomes obsessed with the idea of a relationship with her. She’s rarely judgmental. And because she is uniquely intelligent, knowledgeable and wise thanks to the symbiont, speaking to her is uniquely fulfilling for someone as unnaturally brilliant as Julian. It doesn’t hurt that she has such a soft heart, just like him. Compassion is his center, the most human thing about him that he clings to like a lifeline.

Garak is because Julian has that whole thing about spies and lying and identity crises, so he understands Garak on a core level right from the start, but they also end up being highly compatible as two cerebral, annoying, passionate people who just love analyzing and picking things (and each other) apart. They both have daddy and mommy issues. They’re both insane. Julian can be dangerous and grumpy and real with Garak and it just comes across as hot because Garak’s Cardassian. He can handle the full brunt of Julian Bashir, so he doesn’t have to edit himself so much, and when he does have to, he doesn’t have to feel guilty because Garak’s doing it, too. As an agent, Garak was also barred from meaningful attachments, just like Julian, so their attachment to each other is extra exciting and illicit. Forbidden twofold. Oh my.

O'Brien is because he's the quintessential human, an average joe in a happy marriage with a kid, which are experiences Julian can never have as an augment, so hanging out with him makes Julian feel more connected to his humanity (which he is constantly questioning the existence of). They can drink and play games and be stupid and Julian can pretend he’s normal for a while. He can listen to O’Brien talk about Keiko and his kids and his simple uncomplicated views on the world and see what a normal human life is supposed to look like. O'Brien's acceptance of him as someone with enduring human characteristics in Dr. Bashir, I Presume? is especially meaningful because of all this, though Julian has trouble accepting it. There's no one more suited to accepting Julian as human than Miles O'Brien.

I just love how neatly everything fits together.

This is a list of all the smaller things I love. Specifically the ones i wanna think about more often (ofc this isn’t everything and its not in any particular order, it’s just stuff i’ve come up with)

- i love singing along to energetic music

- i love working with the morning crew at my job

- i love wearing fun pants

- i love wearing fun/ patterned dresses

- i love cats

- i love to “waste” my time. I love not feeling like i’m in a rush or have to hurry because i’ve got all the time in the world

- i love getting ready before going out to do something fun

- i love to see red orange and yellow leaves in the fall

- i love the bright green leaves and white/ pink blossoms in the beginning of spring

- i love rain

- i love thunderstorms and lightning

- i love snow

- i love dogs

- i love to enjoy things

- i love to watch movies and tv shows, then see fanart about them

- i love sitting in arm chairs the “incorrect” way

- i love books

- i love making things and creating

- i love to bake, especially the decorating part

- i love to eat hot food when it’s cold outside

- i love when the air is crispy in the fall

- i love the natural high you get after being sick for a week and you finally feel better

- i love the smell of pumpkin and vanilla candles

- i love holidays, especially the big ones

- i love Christmas lights

- i love when tv shows make holiday specials

- i love colors, i think everything should be more colorful

- i love to go to the aquarium

- i love to sit in the quiet hallways at my school

- i love animation, cartoons, and movies. I especially love 2D animation

- i love enjoying things, i mean, who doesn’t?

- i love yummy drinks, especially when it’s something you’ve been looking forward to and it tastes exactly the way you wanted it to.

- i love bread

- i love to laugh. Laughing at myself is fun too, especially when I’m the only one that knows why i’m laughing

- i love when other people laugh

- i love to talk to myself. I love to hum, and narrate what i’m doing out loud

- i love decorations. The little things people put on their desks or shelves, the wreaths they choose for their doors, the things they put in their cars

- I love farmers markets and creative booths where people sell their stuff to me

- i love to look at art. i love to experience it too.

- i love Charlie Brown, especially snoopy

- i love nostalgia and having memories

- i love love. i love romantic love and platonic love, and seeing people enjoy the company of others. i love to watch people interact with the ones they care about

- i love old box TVs, the ones that you can feel the static and electricity bouncing off of

- i love stuffed animals

Just a note to say...

I am loving creating again. I spent over 12 hours meshing and texturing the Poppy pacifier yesterday and it was all worth it for the sweet thank you messages. I’ve worked every day since the infants came out on releases and coming on here to see all the notes and nice words just makes my day.

Every time I see a picture of someone’s sim wearing my things I light up. I truly love how kind this community can be and I really am happy to be back creating for it again.

literally had such a good day i woke up just after dawn to the sound of rain and smell of wet earth. day trip with franklin for his birthday, we ate a lot of food and picked up some treasures (goat & goat/sheep’s milk cheese, rose-infused honey, spices, fig spread, a copper bracelet, books etc). wore a shirt with the sleeves cut off, it was rainy all day and with enough wind to blow my jacket back a little while we walked, scars exposed down the side of my shirt, the wet air crawling along my back. we got home & we had d&d & it was short but pleasant and exciting. we played cards and ate the food we brought (& i’d also gotten everyone tiramisu cupcakes). a storm hit and a lot of us went outside to smoke and we watched the sky in amazement for so long. it’s overdone but i’m always amazed by the way thunder sounds exactly like some great chariot in the heavens. watching the storm felt like something watching us back. i felt so present, leaning into the wind, wet and shivering, shouting and overtook by the literal magic. i love how storms make me feel so small. i love how storms make me feel like i could climb into the sky. i love thinking about the destructive potential of their wrath yet feeling only wonder when the thunder rolls through my bones. went back inside and we talked

until we could barely keep our eyes open & even then we waited it out as long as we could
