So the wiki also includes shit from Hartman's like youtube channel and whatnot. I don't consider anything not explicitly stated within the show to be canon (and even some things in the show *side eyes Phantom Planet*), so I'm just ignoring all that shit.

Also the insane amount of typos and grammatical weirdness in the Danny Phantom Wiki do not exactly instill confidence in the legitimacy of the information provided.

Anyway, this is just a roundabout way for me to say that I don't consider anything off Hartman's youtube channel, or out of those comics that I've literally only been able to find one of in it's entirety, to be canon.

And Danny Phantom is not exclusive to this belief; if it's pertinent to the plot but you don't put it within the main canon media (so the book/show/movie/game/whatever) then it's not actually canon and you're just a bad writer. Word of God is not canon; if "God" wanted me to know a certain canon fact, then "God" should have put it in the canon.

I should not have to scour your youtube channel or twitter account to understand what the fuck is going on in your story; the story should provide me with that information. The only things that should be exclusive to an external account are shit that's interesting to know but doesn't/wouldn't impact the plot or characters in any tangible way.

Let’s be real here: Princess Peach was married to King Bowser Koopa at least at one time.

1. If their only relationship was kidnapper/victim, the sight of him would probably trigger PTSD. Instead, he’s always invited to play sports with her.

2. Canonical examples of her despising him could be explained as it being a political match between royals rather than a love match, with a side order of the tsundere trope.

3. In Super Mario Sunshine, she found Bowser Jr’s claim that she’s his mom startling but possible. Hang on, you say, how could she find biological motherhood a matter of probability rather than a definite yes/no occupying a memorable 9 months of her life? Easy: we know from Yoshi’s Island that this is a world where humans get babies from the Stork. If the Stork delivered Bowser Jr while they were married, she’s the mama.

no offence but the reason tumblr is “dying” is, well, yes, of course the cursed like/reblog ratio and the change in user behaviour (because of people being used to how instagram and tiktok work) BUT also the lack of weekly shows. i say it with my whole chest, they don't produce captivating and engaging stupid weekly tv shows anymore because streaming killed that so you have spikes of activity here when Something happens in general fandom or up to three days after a new season of whatever drops and then it's a wasteland. this is obviously an old woman yelling at a cloud missing supernatural and the vampire diaries and pretty little liars and all these other shows type of post but honestly give me back weekly tv shows where i have something to watch for 40 minutes almost every day of the week after work so then i can read and reblog it on tumblr give it back for the sake of my sanity

I think people sometimes misunderstand why we come up with such elaborate justifications for shipping two characters together. I don't justify my ships because I feel that I need to; I justify my ships because squinting at the published canon with furrowed brow and asking myself "okay, how exactly would this work?" is my idea of a good time.

To the people saying "Jason wouldn't have jumped into tartarus for Piper, like Percy did for Annabeth" as a way to demean him. I don't get someone drawing a canonically fat character skinny for suggestive artwork or just artwork in general. Why even draw that character? just draw the 1000 skinny characters instead or learn how to draw fat people better with references? *crumbles into dust after finishing this* Thank you for reading! This The Hobbit webcomic adaptation thing takes a lot of effort to put together and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate every comment. I also really appreciate the people who’ve spread the word of this comic to their friends! <3

And finally, we’re at the Song of the Lonely Mountain! Within Tolkien’s canon, The Hobbit is an in-universe book that was “written” by Bilbo Baggins, who occasionally lies/embellishes/exaggerates things. The tonal differences between The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings are explained by Bilbo and Frodo/Sam being different kinds of storytellers, with different relationships to “the truth.” This idea is the core of how I’m adapting the novel! Bilbo is an unreliable narrator who is literally ‘drawing’ from his own limited experiences; the different art styles reflect the different perspectives of other characters. The “dwarf art style” in this chapter is inspired by stonework/metalwork in general— but especially by a mix of art deco, Celtic art, and European folk art.

The central tension of the comic is between Bilbo and Thorin, who each have wildly different ideas about what kind of story they’re in. Thorin is in a grand fantasy epic, while Bilbo is in a lighthearted children’s book adventure. The tragedy is, obviously, that only one side of the story ever gets to be fully told.

On a sillier note, a few years ago I had my first gay crush on a lesbian who sang while playing the piano. This chapter is dedicated to the piano lesbian. I hope they’re doing well, wherever they are. XD

I think I might need a bit of a break but I’m hoping for the next chapter, titled “Dawn,” to arrive on January 13th. And your comments/support really do help motivate me to get more done! ^_^
