most of the drivers' reactions to the whole Horner situation is so disappointing tbh. what do you mean someone in the paddock, an employee gets harassed by one of the top figures in the sport and your reaction is either "it has nothing to do with me", or "no comment", "i just like cars and i want to drive", "it's noise and distraction", "i'm here to race", and "it's a good thing for the media", "it doesn't affect me", "i don't really have an interest".

why is it so hard to care about something other than your racing career? you gotta have some morals, dude. not caring about women's safety in your oh so beloved sport is some fucked up behaviour. in situations like this it really shows how fucking privileged they are and it's honestly repulsive.

this is precisely why Lewis is always the one being asked about any non-sport related topic. because he's the only one who cares and gives honest and nuanced answers. genuinely terrified of what this sport will become when he retires, cause no one will speak out on anything.

and then people wonder why we say that f1 is not a safe place for women and that misogyny is still very much a thing in the sport? men don't care, including the president of the fia and f1, the other team principals and most of the drivers as well. when the faces of the sport clearly don't give a shit about women, what kind of hope is there?

they can talk about equality and progressive values and promoting women in motorsports, when this is the reality of how they actually treat the women working in the sport. imagine how that poor woman is feeling, seeing how much the drivers care about what she's going through. utterly disrespectful, with no compassion or empathy.

f1 needs to do so much better.

Petit's Race Notes

FP1: Logan was forced to run with Alex's patched-up chassis, while Alex kept Logan's. Logan promptly crashed and everyone immediately thought of James Vowles' spreadsheet...

FP2: It rained, but not enough for Intermediates. It got drier, but not dry enough for slicks. Logan's car was not ready, so he was not taking part in FP2 at all, but he didn’t miss much. We saw very little action on track, but we got some nice garage and fan shots. Also cherry blossoms 😍

FP3: Ferrari messed up the end of Charles's session to where he could only do 1 flying lap, and he was not a happy camper on team radio. Fred later said, "We did some shit this morning." Everybody else ran on track as well, but nothing exciting to report.

Quali: Dio mio - we almost didn't make it through Q1 as Charles's first lap was not great at all, and he was forced to use an extra set of new Softs to secure his spot. Which let to him only having 1 set of tyres in Q3. He ended up in P8 with his 1 lap, not having the best warm-up (which he vowed to work on in the sim to improve). The Red Bulls covered the front row with Lando and Carlos behind.

GP: Quite a bit warmer than the days before and sunny. Daniel and Alex had a lap 1 incident and both ended up in the tyre barrier. Both were thankfully okay, but Logan's... I mean, Alex's chassis not so much.

Next, we had a fascinating game of strategies as everyone was trying to see which tyres would work best, and Charles made the bold decision to do a 1-stop strategy. After all the pitstops were done, Charles was running P3, ahead of Norris and Sainz - the latter with 10-lap fresher tyres eventually made it rather easily past both Lando and Charles. Yuki finished P10 and scored his first home race points.

Top 3: P1: VER | P2: PER | P3: SAI

Fastest lap: Max Verstappen

Driver of the Day: Charles Leclerc

Fastest pit stop: Red Bull/Max Verstappen (2.08)

His season was up and down. Maybe they’re waiting for the f1 younger driver test to see if they see someone with potential/ driving better then Logan(in their minds and logic) and if they want them

It’s a waiting game because they can still wait to announce it until January/ February

so. I was just wondering. this whole situation with horner. I, as one, have a dilemma. I would say that it should not have come out to the public just yet, because it's kinda invasive as fuck (if the victim was begging for a last little help, well, that's a whole different thing, but, and I speak from a ignorant place as we all do because we don't know shit, this was apparently leaked by a newspaper, that's what I personally consider invasive. anything that's not pre-arranged and discused and consensual before giving away any type of info I consider invasive, but that's just me) BUT at the same time I feel like, it sounds awful, but I do not know how to fucking phrase it. is good? like obviously not the part of someone being hurt, regardless of whatever outcome this has (there's no way on earth this was good for fucking anyone. if someone was hurt, like SOMEONE WAS HURT, that's bad enough, and if someone wasn't hurt, like some assholes like to asume, it is bad enough to permanently stain someone's reputation little dickhead. you don't go around using this kind of acussations to get more views. be fucking for real) because it shows where we stand as a sport and as a community regarding this specific kind of situations. guess what. the bar is under satan's ass. it has shown some people's "real colors", to say it somehow, and sadly, it has given us women a reality check. the world is just as fucked up as expected. that's why, gentle reminder, idolizing people is as bad as it is painful.

these are real people. and at the same time, they are not, at least not to us. we do NOT know them. we do NOT know how they are and how they act. keep that always in your mind, and remember that putting your hand in the fire for someone you don't exactly know is bullshit. yeah, we can defend them as drivers, but we cannot do so with them as people, because, again, we don't know them actually. unless you do. then, do whatever the fuck you want. and just in case, once meeting is not enough to say that you know someone. don't come at me, that's just like, facts.
