Hiiiiii my darlings, we all know I love love love to talk about the ghouls, my babies, so today I wanna take a look at the different ghoul costumes and talk about the evolution of their costumes.

Opus Eponymous :

The first ghoul costumes, I really like what they did with them despite the fact they probably had a very limited budget to work with (which shows in Primo's costume ngl). They're pretty simple and they will set the example for the next few eras. The masks are nothing complicated but I do like that they have some structure despite being completely blank. I like the shape of the capelet a lot, it reminds me of gothic architecture. The arm "wraps" add some nice shapes in the design and I really like the leather on the bottom of the robe and on the capelet. They're of course wearing grucifix necklaces, as they will up to Meliora.

Infestissumam :

We still have a robe, like the Opus design. The rope as a belt has been replaced by a wide fabric belt and the capelet design was changed for a much simpler one. We get the introduction to the elemental symbols, which are stitched on the waist sash. Each ghoul's respective element is highlighted by a lighter colour. The masks are now starting to get more inteicate designs, this version being inspired by the last mascarade costume of king Gustav iii.

Meliora :

We can still very much see the influence of the Infest design in Meliora's, despite the loss of the hood and capelet. The top went from a full robe to a mid-thigh jacket but kept the belt sash. The elemental symbols are no longer stitched on it, replaced by a logo that I think is meant to be a mix of all of them, but I could be wrong. The elements are still found on the costume as a patch on the right side of the chest. We have new metal masks, full faces with horns and without any mouths.

Prequelle :

A true departure from the previous costumes we had seen so far, the only element still remaining being the masks, which are almost the same as Meliora except for the cut-out mouth. We also have a different mask design for the ghoulettes. The cut of the jacket is more reminiscent of Terzo's uniform than it is of the previous ghouls, which is also inspired by king Gustav iii. It also matches most of Copia's outfits during that era. Despite not looking much like the previous version, it was (and still is) a huge hit with the fans.

Impera :

Forget everything you thought you knew about the ghouls, Impera throws it out the window. The shape of the masks that defined two eras is completely gone, replaced by steampunk inspired helmets. The robes or long coats are now military style jackets. The tight Prequelle pants replaced by Jodhpurs. Every metallic piece that was once silver are now bronze. I've talked to great lengths about the Impera costumes and why I love them so much. Them being so different is a big reason why.

AO3 is actually not illegal, it's protected under the Fair Use Doctrine.

It actually has some really great works and growing communities of some fandoms. Also, the amount of stories uploaded every day is ridiculous, dozens upon dozens of works for a fandom in a day 😭 (and it has great ways to save and organize the stories you like), it's worth checking out.

BUT, people need to be careful, because among those dozens of stories there are some with very worrying content, learning to read the tags (and tagging appropriately in the case of creators) is very important to avoid encountering upsetting or triggering content. Once the tag system is learned (to filter out for example triggering or plain vile topics), it's actually a really good experience.

i think thats what it was- the concerning tags (that and site design). i remember still being very new to fandoms and fanfics and a lot of people raved about ao3 on tumblr, so when i checked it out and searched for bnha fics, the tags- im ngl, they were traumatising. i actually felt like someone was seeing me through my webcams at the tags that i read😭

Something from Hazel's FLCL video that caught my eye was this one shot manga Dirty Work, co-written by FLCL character designer Yoshiyuki Sadamoto. There is a scene in Episode One of FLCL where Mamimi, in response to Naota's (petulant) ask about her feelings for his absent brother/her quasi-ex, responds:

...Watermelon. Or like a panda with a mean face. Or like sandals with pressure points drawn on them. Or the smell of a blackboard eraser. Or a Sunday morning, where you wake up and it’s raining.

Its a meandering and mysterious response, but still one that gets the point across. This dialogue was apparently written by Sadamoto entirely on his own insistence, and he claims to have something of a predilection for it, a love for the meandering, obtuse, poet-girl.

Dirty Work is the most clear example of this fetish from Sadamoto's other creations - its a ~20 page story of a teen guy, the childhood best friend who lives at a chicken farm he is in love with, and the people she asks him to beat up or kill who have wronged her. With a duo who, by the way, make it hilariously apparent this is from the character designer for Evangelion:

That is just Shinji and like a Misato/Asuka cross, some of the mannerisms are absolutely identical, its great. It also has some fashion that is really on point:

Ngl I might steal this look. And in continuing the predilections of Sadamoto, Evangelion, and the 90's Gainax psycho-sexual oeuvre, it also fulfills its duty to the otaku nation by have an out-of-nowhere dubiously consensual grope scene! The guy knows what he likes, okay?

But Dirty Work is not really about any of that; instead it is about the limits of longing and your own capacity, or even desire, to bridge the gap. Our girl Kana knows that our boy Tatsuo here is in love with her, and uses that knowledge for her own ends, sure, but she has no plan herself. That control is about the only agency she has in a life otherwise ruled by passivity:

Tatsuo and her are both stuck in their place - but that isn't as bad as it sounds. For one this is clearly an erotically tinged passivity; a manipulative girl keeping a guy on a leash with crumbs of sexual favours in return for acts of violence? Fucking hot, and not a dynamic foreign to FLCL! But that eroticism is elevated by Tatsuo claiming that "when he is reincarnated" (aka metaphorically when he changes who he is) he will win her over, and she replies that she doesn't want that:

And bam, that is our Mamimi sequence. To explain that last section, future panels will tell you that in chicken coops (like Kana's) light bulbs are used at night to convince the chickens more days are passing so they lay more eggs; a symbiotic-but-frozen relationship.

You can treat Mamimi and Kana's lines here as simple indulgences, playful poetry, but it really works for me. Doraemon & Cutie Honey, protractors and compasses, Jenni - okay we are just gonna ignore that line, we can't nail it every time - all these things are kind of great for their differences, right? You don't want to unify them, they are connected, but not fully, and its better that way. Kana is never leaving home, she is gonna run her mom's chicken coop, Tatsuo is never getting with Kana, which you could view as negative...or you could just not, and instead as a (*cough* erotic *cough*) dynamic with its own power. This line sells that, as does the last part of the manga:

Being the lightbulb to a chicken is beautiful too sometimes.

Which brings us all the way back to Mamimi. Mamimi is not Kana, her story is not her story - she is in way worse straits, and she is going to change, dramatically so, over the course of the show. But in Episode 1 you are seeing her through Naota's eyes, the simultaneous object of his disgust and desire. The way that she claims to love Naota's brother while being sexually intimate with Naota in said brother's absence, the way she clings to his memory despite him having completely moved on from her, Naota views this as wrong and maybe pathetic:

And you, the audience, agree with Naota, because its his story, and you don't spend a lot of time in Episode 1 in Mamimi's head. You see Mamimi's lines about watermelons and sandals and shit as an affectation and a cope.

Now, though, I can view them as a reference, as the way Mamimi sees herself - as Kana does. Dirty Work had 20 pages to sell me on how Kana's stasis is kindof beautiful, and Mamimi is a dead ringer for the same mold. More pathetic externally of course, but a match internally. It doesn't last, it doesn't even last this entire scene, but in her mind this relationship is giving something that change is not going to replace.

Or I mean probably Sadamoto has a fetish for cryptic poetry girls and this was his moment to shine. But I like my take better.

if we are going with the federation au (theory?) which if you don't know what it is basic description is foolish, jaiden, quackity and el quackity grew up together raised by the federation before coming to the island but don't remember their time there but subconsciously are drawn to the federation examples are making deals, working for them or being foolish and actively trying to be best pals with the federation if we were to go with "they had jobs in the federation" then here is what i think what jobs they may be!

in another tumblr post @/yippiecubitos explained beautifully why jaiden wouldn't be the scientist one experimenting or building robots and such but i know people really want someone for this role which i present to youuuu Scientist El Quackity! - my reasoning for el quackity goes more with egg a1 and that maybe he is good at mimicking people but in reality would rather create and experiment testing others emotions can be apart of that - important to note here i feel like El quackity never actually separated from the federation. maybe the others had a hard time escaping and he was caught and dragged back? or the other left because they wanted to and were allowed to so he was left by himself. host quackity! - with quackity i think his purpose was to introduce people to the island and make them feel welcome and comfortable like a host would. i feel like this fits a lot especially in the early days because he was always helping both communities Spanish and English to talk to eachother. this fits a lot with him being busy a lot of the time to fix the island, fix the island and make it look nice and somewhat presentable.

-i think that making people friends with eachother and him always being busy with the island is a subconsious feeling because of his time with the federation and he takes it as "oh i just like it this certain way and i just love seeing others get along :]" because he just doesn't remember his time with the federation and doesn't have any reason to question it designer Jaiden

-this would be very fitting for her because she is a great designer as we can see in her creations examples being her drawings outside of the smp or her creation with bobby fields - i imagine her time in the federation designing things and drawing they had a specifc drawing wall with her and foolish's drawings Builder foolish -i feel like this one is quite obvious on why i have given him the builder title i mean just look up "foolish's builds minecraft" and you get to see all of the amazing things he has been able to build.

-i imagine that foolish was first a builder going through basic building instructions and having some fun with building but also had a love for making cooler buildings not basic houses but more themed he wanted to build what he drew but was unable to

-if you want to fit into the headcanon that he can choose what his height could be at any moment i think it'd be really funny to imagine what he was like in the federation building a basic house like legos or having trouble controlling his powers to the point cucurucho had to make a large room specifically for him when he was having a hard time this is what i personally believe and i think its pretty cool ngl

canon Poland looks like his name is Stephanie and he's a wine mom who says "I'm doing this for my crowns in heaven!" whenever doing a favor for someone.

Fanon Poland Is amazing I love him, we all really went "This man is actually a walking thrift store but in a good way" and it works amazingly on him.

4, physical headcanons

he sleeps with like 7-12 pillows. It drove Liet insane when they were married.

when he's home alone he THROWS every door open looks around suspiciously then makes a mad dash to whatever other room he needs to go to. my guy DOES NOT linger in hallways.

hates knitted stuff on his skin. Can't wear sweaters without a long sleeve shirt under them, loves the knitted crop top look, can't commit to wearing them for more than 5 min.

everyone thinks he's a 17 step morning routine person; his darkest secret is he owns 1 watered down face wash and uses 3 in 1 shampoo, conditioner, body wash.

5, Social Headcanons

The Friend Group(TM) consists of Lithuania, Latvia, Prussia, Estonia, Hungary, Finland, Czechia, Slovakia, and Belarus.

"If we're gonna go out we should get the whole group together!!"

Lithuania: The Ex Husband, the boyfriend, the mom friend he's literally a 3 in 1, it's great. LietPol is one of my "Soulmates in more than 1 flavor," examples, they're stuck together. Whether it's romantic, platonic, or somethign you need a whole fic to explain.

Latvia: The little brother that tags along so much you accidentally become friends with him too. Feliks loves Raivis, they're buddies. They 100% sincerely pray for each other, like "Hey this is happening, could you pray for me?" "Of course <3"

Prussia: The former enemy. They're friends now but Feliks is still super snarky to him. "I'll pray for you <3" but condescending and unsolicited. They fuck sometimes ngl.

Estonia: Feliks takes one look at Kalev and just!!! Look at this little nerd!!! He needs friends!! I'll take pity on him and be his friend!!! Feliks is just as nerdy and knows it, but like,,, still calls Kalev a nerd, lovingly ofc.

Hungary: THE RIDE OR DIE. The shared experience of being genderqueer and horse girls. Feliks would die for Erzí, Erzsébet would die for Feliks. They complain and brag about their bf's and Erzí talks about his kids while Feliks (depending on the day) cements himself further into "I'm never having kids" or "I want a baby so badly :(((((("

Finland: Feliks straight up does not remember becoming friends with Kasper. He just knows one day Kasper tagged along with Kalev and Erzí and then they became friends? Tbh more than anything is just "Erzí and Kalev's little brother"

Czechia: his relationship with Adéla can be summed up in "I wouldn't take a bullet for you bc If I have time to jump in front of it you have time to move" but like, he would actually take a bullet for her. Tbh they really only hang out at like 3 am when drunk.

Slovakia: i... don't actually have hc on them yet.

Belarus: Feliks is actually 2 seconds away from adopting Natalya. He's gonna be her new dad and he's going to raise her right. Feliks relationship with Natalya is really complicated, but he does really feel bad for her and has moments of "I could save her from everything probably"

Psychologic headcanons

Has to be surrounded by people at all times. He has 'safety in numbers' drilled into his subconscious.

has APD, It made learning to read really hard, and like you can't talk to him in a noisy room bc your voice and that fork clinking on the plate over there are the same sound sorry :\

9, Headcanons about their past

Feliks is one of the few nations to have both human parents (Japan is one of the others I have rn) he was only a few months old physically when his father died, and 2-ish when his mother died.

They didn't throw him out. After their parents died, his younger brother (a human) took him. Generation after generation they took care of this little mystical being.

Most nations born to humans are thrown out as curses. Feliks' family called him a blessing, some family members even claimed he was their guardian angel.

Generation after generation they took care of him, they loved him so much.

A tragedy struck, they all died. He buried them all himself. He laid next to the graves and cried for days, he begged God to kill him.

He was only physically eleven years old.

He didn't know what he was, but he had bought into the guardian angel thing. He thought he had failed. Eventually he got up and moved on, he left just wandering...

Then he met Liet... found out he wasn't alone.

Ended up doing some redesign pages for some Hyrule Warriors characters for fun because what's there to do on a lazy Saturday?

The way my rewrite works is that OOT is taken from the Child Timeline, after Link has gone back in time after defeating Ganondorf, meaning that Ruto would still be a child. So I have thusly made that change.

I wanted to keep her design relatively simple because it's so iconic, but I added a few details like the pearls and earrings to give a little bit of detail. I didn't want her to stand out as too simple in a sea of redesigned, detailed characters. The Silver Scale weapon I changed up the design a bit because it looked a little awkward with Ruto's new look.

She's also the only one I did costumes for because I loved some of the ideas but thought how tragic it was that they either didn't work or were recolours. Yesterday, my sister got me the Majora's Mask Himekawa manga, so I was overjoyed to make a design based off of Lulu. I basically just made her fins very dress-like and modified the shape of her ears and eyes to an extent. I merged the Wind Waker and Great Sea costumes to create the middle costume, which is meant to look like a one-piece bathing suit. I also took a little bit of inspiration from Marin and made her pearls into tiny flowers. The last one is the Twilight Princess costume, because that pink skin looks dreadful for something that's meant to be TP. It's probably meant to look like Rutella, but Ruto just looks sunburnt. So I mixed my inspo with Rutella and a bit of the TP Zora in general tbh. My favourite part are her ears and earrings ngl.

I have a few problems with Volgas design and I tried hard to fix it, but I'm generally not good with skulls or very muscular men. I'd like to think I did okay though. I generally wanted to really get across that he's a dragon. This Volga would have to be coloured to truly see the difference because I want to take more from his Master Quest costume's colours instead.

I just changed up the small details to really hammer home that he's not human. In a way, you could compare his armour to Zelda's, which I may play around with their dynamic at some point. I even changed up his weapon took like like a couple giant, jagged teeth on a fancy stick.

I wanted his design to feel very over-the-top and like a masquerade costume like my redesign of Cia, and Wizzro's design in general.

This one needs a little bit of context to how the great fairies work in the re-write. Depending on where the scenario's location is, the fairy be different. As an example, the Twilight Princess scenes (tbh I can't remember if any of those scenarios required a great fairy) will have that games respective fairy, as does Ocarina of Time. With Skyloft, I've encorparated that game's Zelda in as a way to merge her and Fi into one fighter and for plot purposes. That Zelda (I've named Dove so far for clarity) does the whole getting the pumpkin soup to Levias, though she uses her Loftwing and a bunch of fairies for help. But that leaves Hyrule Warriors, which doesn't have their own Great Fairy and has the OOT Great Fairy instead.

So I came up with this one. I have a running theme with some character designs of ancient eras, whether it be Greece, Rome, or Japan. To fit with Link and Zelda's designs, I went for the idea of a nymph for their Great Fairy, but instead of being associated with passion and positivity, she seems more upset to fit with the slightly darker theme of the re-write. This design actually merges three types of nymph actually. She functions exactly the same as the regular Great Fairies - she still sends fairies from her temple or fountain to assist Hyrulean forces.

You may have noticed that I drew some flowers at the bottom of the page, and I erased it, but there were dragonfly wings I used as reference. I used a lot of flowers with connotations of sadness, as well as magic and power, as well as ferns which are apparently associated with the fae. So yeah, I really like flowers and I used to be obsessed with Greek Mythology. Can you tell?

The Arcana is in fact a romance game and every one of the 12 possible endings leads to some sort of relationship with one of the 6 main characters (all 6 characters have both a good and a bad ending depending on the choices you make)

However. I'm not saying you'd enjoy the story (some of the bad endings are a bit fucked up but Idk if it would be your flavor of fucked up, it's still a romance-like game after all) but there's this one character called Valdemar (who's also canonically nonbinary, together with a bunch of other characters) who does look to me like the type of fucked up character you'd like

They're a non-human entity who uses a human disguise because their true form is too much for the human mind to understand (described in the game as an undulating mass, their surface boiling with clusters of eyes, teeth, rib bones emerging from within and dissolving back into it and numerous long, terrible, blade-like limbs), their patron Arcana is Death (the game revolves heavily around the various Major Arcanas from a tarot deck) and they work as a "doctor" (I doubt they have an actual license to be a doctor) because they love watching humans suffer and witness their last moments before Death claims them

They're possibly the only character in the game the MC is never able to either "change for the better" nor defeat and I actually quite like that tbh, although in two of the endings they do help the MC but it's because the "bad guy" is trying to erase death so that no one will ever lose anyone important again and they don't like that because they love it when people die

I'm personally obsessed with the game and every time Valdemar is on screen being their fucked up creepy self I can't help but think "Perelka would like them"

Tbh their design isn't really something I would like ;;;;w;;;; They seem kinda... bland to me? Apologies, you seem to like them, but after a description that sounds rather fun I was expecting something different. I feel kinda bad that after you have put so much heart into description I just coldly react like that but ngl I cannot really get excited.

But it's great that you like them, and the game! There is always something fun about characters that hide their inhumanity (I do enjoy that, just in different form, classic G-Man or the Outsider come to mind from examples I deeply appreciate). I suppose it's the medic part that turns me off, I never enjoyed much the play on doctors bringing the pain (admittedly, that kinda makes me uncomfortable orz)

Also, I am guessing it adds to the eldtrichness of their real form being impossible to perceive, it would be a bit boring if it was shown!

15. Do they always say 'i love you' before leaving?

awwwh, okay, so, time to dig into the emotions a little bit - i think that they might not do it every time, but there are certain times when they always do it. example: when they part ways after a drivers parade on the sunday morning, i think they'd make it a little pre-race tradition to whisper "je t'aime" to each other. because they've both lost too much to racing, and i don't think either of them could bear the thought of "i lost him and today is the one day i didn't tell him i loved him." so, they don't make that an option - not when it comes to racing; not ever.

when it's just in their day-to-day lives, though? i think that they sometimes do, sometimes don't - for no particular reason, really, just that they're humans, and incredibly busy ones, at that. sometimes, humans just forget things in everyday life. maybe one of them would have to leave at a very odd time for a flight, or rush out to some PR event, or something, and just not say it that specific time. and neither of them minds that much, really, because they both get it. the times they do say "i love you" before leaving is when they're going to be apart for a longer stretch of time, or when either of them is feeling particularly romantic. just, you know. domestic things ❤️

22. What reminds each of their partner?

ahhh, omg, i freaking LOVE this one!! and i am just thinking of literally so many answers now, omfg. i'm going to try and keep this short-ish (the operative word there being try, of course xD 🙈) so the first thing that popped into my mind was, quite simply, the colour red. charles has been with ferrari for so long and he wears the red so well that i think every time pierre sees something that even vaguely resembles the rossa corso red -- he'd think of charles. immediately. also, of course, any ferraris he might happen to pass on the road. and!! oh my gosh!! for both of them - any squid plushies/stuffed toys, or even just freaking calamari in a restaurant. for charles specifically, anything that's like a very CLICHÉ french thing would probably make him laugh, and take a picture, and send to pierre (which counts as making him think of pierre/reminding him of pierre, right?)

so... yeah 😅 i don't think i quite succeeded in keeping that one short, but, well. they just have such a rich relationship and such a long history that i think almost ANYTHING could remind them of each other. even something as small as walking past a shop and seeing each other's preferred brand of toothpaste/favourite treat on a menu/something that could work as a birthday gift... you get the idea. anything and everything ❤️

35. Who's more artistic?

oooohhh, this is such an interesting one! i feel like the easy answer would be "they're both a bit shit, ngl" but that's not quite true. as that one grill the grid challenge last year proved, they're both actually surprisingly more artistic than i thought. like, no, they're not going to be the next vincent van goghs anytime soon, not either of them. but they're not completely terrible. charles even did a reasonably acceptable portrait of carlos recently in that one challenge? 🤔 it's not GREAT, no, but hey, it's definitely better than what i could've done, so.

that still doesn't answer the question, though, so let me do that now: i don't think either of them is definitively better, really. knowing them, they would probably find a way to make it a competition though -- why is my mind thinking something along the lines of them arguing affectionately over who actually did a better design in that grill the grid challenge, and that devolving into who's a better artist, and that devolving into them taking freaking art classes just to prove a point... and then, of course, they both just end up getting a lot better, and actually really enjoying the art. (it would of course endlessly frustrate them that there's still no clear winner. they both just keep getting better and better, at all the different mediums 😂😭) so, yeah. they're dumb, but they're dumb and surprisingly artistic, is my answer xD <333

Monica would think it’s a cute and helpful talent to have! Since she’s my MC OC, I’d imagine the other mc and her to be pretty close, even if they’re not from her world. She at least has someone that knows how she feels in this unfamiliar place. Her heart would melt when the other MC made her cute backpack designs and proudly placed them in notable areas. And oh my god, IF YOU FIXED UP HER UNIFORM AFTER SHE TOOK A FALL FROM EQUESTRIAN TEAM GOD!! Monica would definitely hug them and be slightly more affectionate to them. It’s touching and sweet to see them fuss over her but still make her blush.

“Hey, I know we’ve stuck with each other thick and thin with everything that’s happened. I know I probably don’t say that I appreciate your efforts often but I do. It’s nice to know that I have someone that can somewhat relate. I can show you some books I’ve been reading, and if you’d like, I can teach you how to ride a horse.”

Ngl, you’re going to get irritated by how fast he RUINS HIS FUCKING THINGS. OH MY GOD, because he likes to go on adventures on his off days, he comes back to his RSA dorm pretty torn up, he’s smart enough to get over his head with things and doesn’t come back bloody, but his clothes are rather homely despite how the headmaster of Royal Sword helps the young student. Despite his bad boy aesthetic, he’ll be happy with the cute designs on his bag, though he might ask you to design MORE THINGS ON HIS BAG. Like an orange rugged cat or a sword or—

“Woah! Thanks, and I’m sorry. Heh… I know I don’t make it easy fixing up my stuff so often. Though I’m pretty surprised you’re sticking with me so much. I mean Royal Sword has plenty of nicer looking boys here. What? You like being my friend and taking care of me,” Zane scoffs and rolls his coffee brown eyes at you while folding his arms.

Wouldn’t happen. Sorry, he takes too much care and prideful to be seen at RSA so unseeingly. But if by the very slim chance you try to help his outfit he’d softly let you down. The intention was pure but he sees nothing wrong.

FINALLY!! HE HAS A SEWING BUDDY!!! He’s not a professional sewing guy but he’s picked up this trait as well taking care of his father and he faintly recalls his mother teaching him how to embroider his name onto a handkerchief before her passing. Your shared love over sewing makes him open up more, he doesn’t know how to knit though. But seeing you knit with such ease makes him admire you even more. He’ll definitely ask you to sew with him on the weekends. He’ll be amazed at the little patches you create for his backpack. Leif will wear these with pride!

“You like to sew too?! That’s great! You knit and embroidered? Wow, that’s amazing! Maybe when you’re free and here at RSA maybe we can sew together?”

Rosealio on his days that he did visit with his sisters at NRC. He found out that you sewed by the beautiful design on your patched up uniform. He’s too shy to ask a complete stranger to make him things. Maybe his big brother could introduce them?

a full role reversal TGCF where Hua Cheng is the noble dianxia and Xie Lian is the ghost king but:

• make it a TRUE role reversal. What would Hua Cheng (Hong Hong-er) do in Dianxia Xie Lian's place? What would Xie Lian do in little Hong Hong-er's?

• role swap EVERYONE. BUT don't do the obvious. because i have seen the obvious, and i am quite annoying in finding a new way to do this. for example, instead of switching shi qingxuan and he xuan, switch shi wudu, shi qingxuan and he xuan with pei ming, pei siu and ban yue. why? cause it's interesting. and i like it.

• make it hualesbians because i am a useless lesbian and also just like lesbians. but don't just gender swap, make that fact effect the story, since sexism is canon in tgcf. think ling wen.

• also ngl, im in the works of this. i just don't have a beta reader and i kind of feel bad but tbh I just like writing

• don't make it blow for blow, but def follow some stuff. because like, this whole series carved out my heart. i just now want to throw a bunch of "what if's" at it because it's funny and i think i need to stop re-writing classical literature as lesbian (so far, my list is: the great gatsby, lord of the flies, the count of monte cristo, of mice and men, a christmas carol and a few others)

• come up with all their designs yourself because you're petty and want to be historically accurate and boy has anyone ever mentioned you have a hyperfixation on historical textiles and weaponry because oh boy i'm so sorry in advance

Oh my god... Shoyo's the weird looking cat outside that Madoka lets in and gives a bath too because what the hell is up with it why does it look like that why's it not blinking <3

Madoka's one of the first people showing a great deal of generosity and compassion to Shoyo right after her introduction. She gives her the bed where Gingka and Kyoya were when they were hurt/sick because when they turned up Sho was kind of delirious with a fever. And like I imagine Madoka having so many question for this strange kid of Gingka's age turning up out of nowhere and just being so cryptid like. And ngl, after Shoyo tells them where she comes from she has a moment of like... okay maybe we shouldn't trust her. Which to Shoyo is completely fair, they're already incredibly flabberghasted by all Madoka did for them, cooking and taking care of her?? a stranger?? Does not make sense in her brain yet. But then Gingka forgives Shoyo and gives them his trust almost immediately. After that, Madoka feels a little weird sharing a space with someone who was from the ennemy's side, but it goes away very quickly. After that Shoyo insists on not staying at Madoka's cause it's too awkward for them and doesn't want to bother or owe her anything, but she loses that argument cause it's Madoka :). So shoyo and Gingka get some time living together before they become siblings :D

Shoyo learns a little about the domestic, almost normal life. It feels weird but not necessarily wrong. Madoka is happy that her home can welcome her friends. She teaches and shares tips about mechanics with the both of them quite often and they spend nice quiet evenings together while she works. Anyway I love Madoka <3 did so much for my child thanks Madoka. Also after that Madoka kind of keeps Sho in check, in a nice way like she helps by telling her when she sould not have said that thing that was too harsh. They both struggle with social cues or hurting feelings by accident so it's something they feel compelled to help the other the best they can. Shoyo tries to return the many favors she feels Madoka does for her, clumsily trying to prepare a meal, handing her a tool or bey part so she doesnt have to get up, or putting a blanket on her when she falls asleep at her desk. Somehow being thoughtful seems to become a little easier every day.

It's still uncomfortable, for Shoyo, but they still become friends and I feel that Madoka was an essential actress in Shoyo's development really <3 cause she chose kindness before anything else. Also Sho would absolutely throw little mechanic tools at Gingka (he's being annoying it's fine) under Madoka's order, or lift heavy things for her too. And once Shoyo learns more about different types of affections, like after she gets a gift from Kenta or Hyoma for example, one of the first gifts she gives is to Madoka. Gift giving becomes one of her favorite ways to show care so Madoka gets a lot of small little rocks that Shoyo found pretty and she puts them all in a designated jar at her desk.

I don't have a lot of interaction ideas for after fusion between them but just know they are very close and Shoyo respects Madoka so much and will always be very grateful for taking her in at the very beginning of this big ol adventure. And also Since Sho needs new clothing after Fusion, Madoka gives her a B-Pit merch t-shirt she has laying around and Shoyo loves it. She's gonna keep it forever (ignore the fact she changes clothes the next season and everytime after, that's just a me thing <3) And on her shogun steel design i added a little patch she sewed on their sweater of the B-Pit too, cause they're a hagane now and they all got that logo somewhere on their designs so yeah :D

what would an encanto sequel (encanto 2??? encantwo???) be like for u? can u imagine a scenario or just some interactions and characters scenes u wanna see? (inb4 you say you wanna see more of julieta)

oooo this is interesting. I feel like the second part would have a villain, maybe from outside of the encanto, to keep the story interesting for kids. Of course there would be more amazing songs and great themes for the characters. I feel like there would also be some new characters introduced too. Like good people from outside the encanto that help the Madrigals or something. Well for characters I would wanna see more, ofc juli lol we need more of her singing and beautiful voice. It would also be nice to see more interaction between Mirabel and Isa, like them working together to defeat the bad guys or something lol. Another thing I would like to see is more sweet, funny moments between the family. Like for example Camilo stealing Julieta’s arepas and getting caught or Mirabel sewing Isa her very own dress to match her family. Idk like, cute scenes. I love all of that sappy stuff. It would also be cool to see inside all of the family members rooms. Like would all of the head cannons people make up be somewhat accurate? i’m genuinely curious about their room designs tho. Would dolores have a soundproof room? Or would Luisa actually have a theme park hidden somewhere in her room where she could just be a kid? Idk abt you guys, but i swear i’ll be waiting till 2050 for that second part of encanto ngl. idc if i already have kids, i’m gonna make them watch it with me and they’re gonna love it.

hi anon! thank you so much it means a lot ♡♡♡ I can absolutely do that, y'all know I love talking about shows I love!!! for the selection process, I have this list I keep of all the shows I watched this year which came in extremely handy, as well as my video ranking all the 2021 shows I watched that will come out in january on my channel. so I just look at every show & create a ranking, as well as listen to my feelings bc certain shows might’ve touched me more despite a lower grade, or the opposite. you'll see examples of that in my actual list:

bad buddy: I don't love choosing shows that are still airing, but this one became an instant favorite & kept making my weeks better so frankly it's my fave show of the year. it's the show that made me feel the most things in 2021 (except for not me which hasn't aired enough to be in the 2021 ranking but will deffo be in the 2022 one ;)), and just for that it deserves the number one place :)

1000 stars: a really touching & beautiful story that I'm planning to rewatch before the end of the year. definitely also an amazing series on every level, p'aof really is ruling this year's ranking lmao

blackout: in terms of cinematography, sound design, set design, execution... this is one of the most impressive shows I've EVER seen. it's literally so underrated but revolutionary, & deserves WAY more love. the fact that the four first eps can be synched despite being filmed at different angles is INCREDIBLE.

light on me: also one of the rare shows I was genuinely invested in this year, and for me the characters were really the highlight of it, I loved them all so much. great, great show, even for a love triangle hater like me :')

the debut: extremely underrated thai drama, as all non bl thai dramas almost always are. this one is super dark & fucked up, the plot twists shook me to my core, the acting was fantastic & it was a really well executed story that I couldn't recommend more.

squid game: won't say much bc well, everyone has heard of this show lol. it was incredibly good & even though it won't be one of my all-time favorite shows, it's still very much worth the hype imo.

mad for each other: incredibly lovable & flawed characters, deals with mental health, them going slowly from enemies to lovers was made really well & felt natural, and it was overall a really engaging story. I had a lot of fun, and I'm also OBSESSED with the female lead's character design! (and the female lead in general ngl chdhbshucid)

to my star: I didn't expect to love this one as much as I did, yet it's the show I rewatched the most in 2021 bc it's simply such an efficient story with really compelling characters that take an otherwise basic korean bl like the 15 others that came out in the past year, yet elevated it enough that it's one of my faves kbl ever with light on me & where your eyes linger. it's just very lovely & quirky in its own way, which I really enjoyed.

remember you: as someone who hasn't seen the original kdrama, I genuinely really enjoyed this show & found that it combined the thriller aspects of it very well with my fave thing ever, character development. I also found the acting to be really great & the tension maintained throughout the whole show really worked for me.

golden blood: this one is my guilty pleasure of this list lol, when my video on the official ranking will come out you'll see a couple other shows ranked higher bc they had higher grades, but this is one of the rare shows that truly kept me hooked for 8 weeks. I found the series quite original, I loved the characters & especially the main ship's dynamic. it's a highly flawed show yet I know it'll stay a favorite for many years to come, so even though I'm very biased about it, I had to put it on the list <3

I honestly have too much this whole mess with Cara and Carano, but I saw your post about them and I really want to share my thoughts.

I absolutely love Cara the character, still do and always will. She’s a strong independent woman with a firing heart and burning soul, and as a character she’s beyond what I personally defined as a perfect heroic star. I have not been loving any female characters from any media types as much as Cara, and for me she’s not just a character in the Mandalorian but an element that helps making that world complete, and I’m sure at this point we can all tell how much it breaks my soul to see that we might never see her again on the screen.

As for Gina, I’m just really, extremely disappointed. Of course we know there are always people who think differently from us, whether be it right or wrong in society’s standards, and there’s nothing “wrong” for thinking in different ways because obviously we can’t control how one thinks about the world. Of course the rest of us knows the undeniable flaws and cruelties in her ways of thinking, but can you really blame one for having a certain point of view, no matter how twisted it is? What is truly “wrong”, for me, is how she completely ignores the other half of the world, who thinks differently than her, and demands that half of the population to tolerates her. When she cannot treat others with respect and dignity, she demands to be understood and uphold.

Especially as a public figure, she let her selfishness took over her logic, and mindlessly spread what deemed to be intolerable to the majority of the world, yet refuse to take the criticism and consequences resulted from her actions. I’m very much certain that not every public figures, or even everyone around us in daily life, share the same ideologies which we deem “tolerable”, yet while the others learn to stay silent and listen, and understand, maybe to even change, she chose to ignore the rest of the world like a selfish child.

I love Carano for bringing Cara to life like the perfect character she is, and every time I think of Cara Dune I will forever associate her face with her. But I hate her for being such a selfish human being who chose destruction over salvation, and slander over tolerance, and for letting herself ruining what so many of us love so much by the name of Cara Dune.

Whether Lucasfilm decides to recast Cara or to erase Cara, this first Cara Dune is burned too deep into my mind, and I know for a fact that I’ll never love another Cara as much as this one. Regardless of what Gina Carano have done, her actions have nothing to do with Cara Dune, and I will keep it that way no matter what

I pretty much agree with you. I know not everyone has the mindset, but I generally separate actress and character and I definitely want to in this case. I love Cara, she’s a fascinating character with a cool backstory and a great character design - how awesome is it to get a female character in appropriate clothes and with musculature for her character? Like I said, before I found this stuff out, I was impressed with the physicality Gina brought to the role, her stunt work, and what she said in the Gallery show about how important she felt it was to bring a non-waifish female character to the screen. Also ngl, those arms and that hair? She pretty. I personally have zero qualms about continuing to steal her face for Cara - but only for Cara. And I totally recognize that not everyone feels that way or compartmentalizes things the same way I do.

Cuz regardless of someone’s personal beliefs, it costs zero dollars to not be a dick. For example, if Gina didn’t want to put pronouns on her profile all she had to do was say “No thanks, I prefer not to” and leave it at that. She didn’t have to mock trans people; she could’ve chosen to instead learn about why displayed pronouns are important to that community. There’s a lot to be said about radicalization right now that I don’t want to get into since I prefer to use fandom as a break from irl shit, but at the end of the day she’s an adult, she should know better, and she’s capable of making her own choices.

As an educator I like to believe people can change and leave ignorance behind, so I hope once things cool off she takes the opportunity to better herself as a person. Right now though, I’m ready to leave all this behind and just enjoy the character without the mess behind her.

BNHA Chapter 310 Spoiler Thoughts: “The First and Second Holders”

Some fan translations are out and it’s time to flex some thoughts out again! I couldn’t do them last night because I didn’t have all the scan images with me and I didn’t want to jump the gun with only text descriptions. Anyway, this was mainly an exposition chapter that properly introduces us to the second and third OFA Holders, especially the 2nd and what his relationship to the 1st is. This might not be as long as others “Spoiler Thoughts” I’ve written, but let’s see:

First off, we have a colored cover page by Horikoshi-sensei himself! It’s a solo page featuring Vigilante Deku and he looks badass! Deku looks ready to kick ass and take names. And, his Mid-Gauntlet is colored red like a lot of us thought and it adds to the theory that Melissa Shield did create it like she did with Deku’s Full-Gauntlet back in Two Heroes.

The chapter starts in a dark and rainy night. A large woman (she’s like maybe 10ft tall; she’s taller than All Might who I think is 7ft) with a mutant-type quirk who’s getting attacked by some civilians because they think she’s a villain. Deku jumps in to stop the attacks and the woman explains that she was just trying to go to one of the evacuation centers at a hero school. Deku is kind enough to give her her umbrella back and reassure her that things will be ok.

I gotta say that this whole situation is scarily close to real life right now. I don’t like getting too political, but we live in a scary world where discrimination is, unfortunately, alive and well... If you are a POC, you can be attacked from anywhere with the only reason being that “you’re a danger because of the skin you were born with”. It’s horrific, it’s disgusting, and it’s been around for a long time. Even in the BNHA universe, there used to be cults solely dedicated to discriminating against mutant-type people (we learned this back in the My Villain Academia Arc). So, like in the real world, this problem has risen again. Thankfully, there are people like Deku and All Might who are more than willing to help someone in need regardless of who they are. BNHA hits too close to home sometimes.

Anyway, going back to the BNHA story. Before All Might leaves to help the woman in his Batmobile, he hands Deku some Pork Katsu in a cute bento box wrapped in a bunny cloth! Deku is visibly happy and thanks All Might for the meal. This is so cute! I’m so glad to see that All Might is making sure that Deku is being properly taken care of. Boy needs to eat if he’s going to save the world. I’m also glad that Deku can still show signs of happiness despite, well, everything. I swear, if All Might doesn’t legally adopt Deku as his son by the time this series is over, I’m going to jump into this manga and force him to sign those documents myself.

The next panel shows Deku standing on what looks like Tokyo’s famous Sky Tree (or Sky Egg if we’re going off what Vigilantes showed us). He’s back to talking to the OFA Holders like they’re angels on his shoulders. Banjo talks about how it’s like the world’s reverted back in time when things were worse and Deku responds that if he doesn’t use all of OFA’s power, he’ll never be able to defeat Shigaraki and AFO. I know we’re in the final act, so Deku’s gotta get to 100% fast if he wants to win this war. Last we checked, he was at 45%, but he might be at a higher percentage now since he’s unlocked En’s Smokescreen. Also, Deku’s looking more and more like Batman each chapter and I gotta say that it really suits him.

Back to the Vestige Dream back when Deku was still in a coma after the war. The 1st Holder begs the 2nd and 3rd to corporate with him so that they can provide their power to Deku. The 1st calls the 2nd and 3rd “My Heroes” which causes some awkward silence lol. Neither one is responding, so Banjo breaks the silence by suggesting that Deku learn everyone’s Quirks so that he’ll get used to them once he starts using them. We learn why the 2nd and 3rd are the 1st’s heroes soon, but it’s actually a good idea for Deku to learn about all these different Quirks while he’s sleeping so that he’ll get a good idea on how to execute them when he wakes up. It’s kind of a way of training for Deku just without actually using the Quirks themselves.

The 3rd Holder (the one with the spiky ponytail and headband) starts to talk. He says that the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd came from the “Harshest era of history”. It was a time where AFO ruled all and peaked in power and control. He was going to take over the whole world if the first 3 Holders didn’t step in to stop him. My guess is that after AFO was defeated for the first time, society started to calm down and become more or less the world we knew before the War Arc. So, things weren’t as bad during the 4th Holder’s era and so forth. This would explain why Shinomori was able to hide in the forest for so long without being detected.

And now the big part of the chapter: the 2nd Holder. Who does in fact look A LOT like Bakugo. Big difference is that he has a massive scar across his face. I am aware of the whole “time travel” theory that people have going on with Bakugo and this dude, but I’m not on that train. Instead, I think that the 2nd Holder is one of Bakugo’s ancestors. Like, a really, really-great-grandfather. Horikoshi doesn’t just design his characters for no reason. The fact that the 2nd user looks so much like Bakugo, has a costume similar to Bakugo’s, and that future panels in this chapter straight up parallel that iconic scene with young Bakugo and Deku in the river only add fuel to this fire. Unless Horikoshi says otherwise, this is the theory I’m sticking to: this “Ancestor” theory.

And we know of the 1st user’s real name now too, which is Yoichi! If Horikoshi is keeping up with the “numbers in names” theme, then I’m positive that Yochi has the kanji for “One” somewhere in it. And, if we’re going to believe AFO at all, then that means that the 1st user’s full name is Yoichi Shigaraki. We don’t know AFO’s full name yet. But, again, AFO could be lying with his last name, so I’m taking this one with a grain of salt.

Back to the 2nd Holder, he tells Yoichi that a lot of lives were sacrificed in order to stop AFO back then. He believes that there is only victory or defeat in battle; that there’s no hope of saving their archenemy. He has doubt about putting his faith in Deku because of this. Given how the 3rd Holder still has his back turned too, I’m lead to believe that he also thinks Deku is crazy for wanting to save Shigaraki. I don’t exactly blame them. Really, none of us know if Deku will be successful in saving Shigaraki. He might have to kill him in the end. I think they should offer Deku help, but I don’t blame them for being at least a little skeptical.

But, Yoichi reminds the 2nd and 3rd users that they saved Yoichi back when AFO locked him up to die. They found Yoichi with the intention to kill him it seems, but the 2nd Holder showed sympathy for Yoichi and lent him a helping hand despite Yoichi being AFO’s little brother. This is the parallel panel I was talking about. Yoichi is kneeling down on the floor and the 2nd user is standing up extending his hand to help Yoichi. I don’t even need to look back in the manga to know what inspired this. Hell, I don’t even need to tell you! We all know what Horikoshi was doing when he drew and wrote this.

Yoichi convinces him that he should believe in Deku as Yoichi does think Deku will save the day. If the 2nd user didn’t extend his hand to help Yoichi, OFA wouldn’t have begun. I think that the trust between these two is ultimately the reason why the 2nd user finally agreed to help Deku; the same with the 3rd user too. And, kind of a tangent, but I really like how Horikoshi draws Yoichi and the 2nd user’s hands as they’re reaching for each other. Horikoshi has always been really good with drawing hands like they’re facial expressions (something my ass could never do 😭) and this one shows kindness and empathy. It’s almost like what would’ve happened if Bakugo accepted Deku’s hand for help when they were young instead of letting his pride and ego get in the way. Oh, the parallels!

Finally, the 2nd user speaks in present day telling Deku that they’re going full speed ahead now. My guess is that Deku’s going to have to improve on OFA and the rest of his Quirks quickly in order to find and beat the LoV. We are in the Final Act after all. The chapter ends at a good place if we want to switch to the UA kids, which is honestly what I’m hoping for. Again, I love Deku and his Vigilante adventures, but I miss the rest of the kids. The new BNHA Exhibition in Japan apparently has a giant drawing of the main class, All Might, Aizawa, and Shinso in his new hero costume! Which tells me that 1. Shinso probably took Deku’s place in the class for the time being, and 2. We’re definitely going to see the other kids again. I’m hoping soon. But, I wouldn’t be surprised if Horikoshi decided to continue focusing on Deku’s Vigilanteism and have him practice with he 2nd and 3rd Holder’s Quirks now that they’re working with him. We’ll just have to see.

So, that’s it! Solid chapter overall. I’m glad we finally got to see the 3rd and 2nd Holder’s faces. I think the “Kirishima is the 3rd Holder” theroy has been debunked at this point, but I’m still on the “2nd Holder is Bakugo’s ancestor” train. The similarities and parallels are too strong for me to deny it. Horikoshi-sensei, please confirm or deny soon 🙏. We are getting break next week for Golden Week BTW! All of Shonen Jump is actually, so no One Piece or JJK either (I’m not sure about Jump+, so we might still be getting some Spy X Family for example). So, basically all our favorite mangakas are getting a well-deserved break as they should! I hope they enjoy their vacation! Waiting’s going to suck tho, I’m ngl about that... Oh well, I’m willing to take the sacrifice if it means having healthy mangka. Thankfully, we still have the anime and the new exhibition to tide us over until then.

Edit: I went back to re-read the chapter and I completely missed the date for the next chapter (chapter 311) which is set to release on May 9th! So, we’re actually getting a 2 week break instead. Damn... Sucks for us, but it’s good for mangaka to get breaks when they can especially considering their absolutely insane schedule.
