i’m tired of people romanticizing mental illnesses.
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is NOT being “cute and quirky needing everything to be organized 🤪🤪”
while there is a subtype of OCD needing things organized, it’s much more than just that. if you don’t have something organized the way it “needs” to be in your brain, then you freak out and panic and more times than not, ur brain convinces you something incredibly bad is going to happen. (i.e - if this blue wire isn’t right next to the purple wire, my house will burn down and hurt my entire family.) of course, it isn’t that extreme for every individual who has OCD, but for a majority.
it is also: •fearing everything is contaminated, •having such intense intrusive thoughts that you can’t shake and they end up causing extreme distress, •having physical responses to a negative intrusive thought making you believe you agree with the idea - which in turn makes you a “bad person”, •needing to make things “even” (i.e - touching a lightswitch 3 times with your left hand, then 3 more times with your right hand, spinning one way and having to spin the other way to be “balanced”, etc) •and so so SO much more. these are just a very small few examples.
OCD is an illness. not a personality trait. and although there are multiple ways to cope and live alongside this diagnosis, which always helps relieves some of the symptoms, it is still a painful and debilitating diagnosis.

Educate Me - Chapter 6 sneak peek
It had been a few weeks since Tim’s first hookup with Professor Fuller – or, Hawk, as he was now allowed to call him whenever outside the classroom.
Could it even be classified as a hookup? What Tim considered a hookup now at 21 was usually more involved than what had occurred in his professor’s office. That was more akin to a quick high school fantasy, more or less a rushed hand job in the principal’s office.
Not that he had had experience in that regard.
Even still, it left Tim wanting more from the older man. To feel Hawk’s hands wrapped around his length was one thing, but to imagine the professor���s impressive girth filling him up when he could finally get him alone again…
Tim was snapped out of his daydream by Hawk – er, Professor Fuller, calling on him in class. “Would you agree, Mr. Laughlin?” The professor sat on the edge of his desk, biting the arm of his glasses and all but eye fucking Tim in front of the entire class.
He sat up straighter in his seat, “Um,” looking around the class to find everyone else paying very close attention. “Yes, you’re absolutely correct sir.” He punctuated the last word by looking over the frame of his glasses, and only Tim would notice the professor shift his position to camouflage the effect of his word choice.
The two had done a bit more sexting since the last physical encounter, nothing going past what their first telephone exchange entailed. Occasional texts from Hawk, working late in his office with his cock in his hand, or one from Tim freshly out of the shower, muscled torso on full display cutting off just above the area the older man longed to see most.
That day on his way out of class, the professor slipped a note into Tim’s book bag as he shuffled past the other students. When Tim got back to his apartment that evening after the rest of his lectures, he retrieved the note.
Old school, he thought. He could have just texted me.
All the note contained was a time and a location.
The Understudy, 8pm.
The name sounded familiar. Tim did a quick google search to find that it was a lesser known speakeasy type bar just off of campus.
So, he wanted to meet out in public. Well, semi public. The photos online made the place appear dimly lit, somewhat exclusive, and rather intimate. A secret hideout of sorts.
Tim knew a date when he spotted one. And he fully intended to commandeer this date into bringing the professor back to his apartment.

So to all my artists, a question.
So there is a youtube channel that I've been following for a little bit now that does sort of...compilations of DCA fanart set to music. I liked it at first but then I noticed that they were using a LOT of different artists work, some I even follow here on Tumblr that I recognized but they never credit the artists or the music they use in the description or tags or anything so its incredibly unlikely that they are asking permission to use the art. When I commented on it on one of the videos (because one of the images they used SPECIFICALLY had not to repost on it) they told me that is normal in the art community. I am NOT an artist but now when I see their videos something about it just makes me really uncomfortable. Is this actually something that's commonly acceptable to do in the fanart community or are they just full of shit? Thanks for educating me, friends! :)

it breaks whats left of my heart to hear of the horseshit that is happening to people.
-Palestenian kids who deserve to enjoy their birthdays but can't because they and their families are being massacred
- people whose lovers were taken from them either in the dead of night, were murdered or displaced
-The fact that Valentine's day just passed but there's no love for people in palestine who are told they deserve it.
-There's no love for the people in the Congo, Haiti, Ukraine, or in many other places that are facing genocide
-There's a goddamn ethnic cleansing going on and people are concerned about Taylor swift.
-Disabled people in Palestine without help or care or friends.
-Men in Palestine who are treated like their identities didn't matter while they're alive.
-Kids in class sitting next to the empty desks of their murdered classmates.
-Displaced pets/service animals with out the people they're supposed to be guiding.
-The fact that I and thousands other people could sit on their ass or go about their day without thinking about it, pretending it's not real while it is VERY real over there.
-The fact that there are powerful people who can do something about this but won't.
-The fact that the united states won't do anything to stop a genocide unless something's in it for them.

I genuinely don’t understand the problem with paying your writers. Like, when I filmed a blockbuster film I payed my writers fairly! (I was like 10, all my “actors” were 5-10, it was filmed on iMovie in 10 minutes, and I didn’t have writers).
but for real, these companies are just screwing themselves over. Especially Netflix. All their money came from stranger things, but now the next season won’t come out for like 3 years because they WONT PAY THE WRITERS!!! Not to mention the people who can’t watch it because of their last whole thing about shared accounts, and the rumors I’ve heard about them adding ads???
I am extremely clueless on world events, like I know what’s going on but not all the gritty details. So any kind of education on this strike is extremely helpful for me.

Can someone enlighten me?
YouTube had the following video in my feed today, and I decided to watch it as it’s a performance of “On”. It’s one of my favorite BTS songs, and I love the choreo.
Thing is, there’s this curious changing of shoes that happens right as they are going to sing (performing an encore), that I do not understand. Even though the guys are about to dance again, they all take off their boots and shoes to put on slip-ons.... slip-ons?
Sometimes I see things in their tv shows that I don’t understand and don’t find explanations for, and this is one. Can someone kindly explain why the guys were doing this on stage before performing again?
Joonie sure did have some challenges with those slip-ons.... lol.... Jimin just kinda rocked it, as best as he could... swagger and everything.... 🤣

I'm usually not one for syscourse but I got this bizarre message from a friend when I confided in them about my DID. It was so invalidating to both me AND her own partner (we are both diagnosed) but i can't stop thinking about it.

"transmisogyny affected/transmisogyny exempt"
I just learned about this, and feel free to educate me about this or whatever, but is this not a weird concept? Like a lot of people other than trans women/transfems are definitely affected by transmisogny. Cis women have been harassed in bathrooms by transphobes trying to clock them. Legal discrimination can be fueled by transmisogny and end up also affecting trans men and nonbinary people. Hell, even cis men are affected, they can't wear a dress without being insulted (of course this is also general misogyny, but this is definitely partially caused by transmisogny).
