I’m getting back into reading percy jackson trials of Apollo after being in a bit of a reading slump for about 2-3 weeks and bro Meg has me tearing up, I just started chapter 20 of The Tyrants Tomb and meg crying and explaining how she only attacked tarquin bc she wanted to save apollo/Lester and that she thought killing tarquin would save him is so freaking sweet. I love seeing megs soft side because some times I forget she is just this little girl. Bro I just love Meg.

big sister talks : chapter 2

1. if you care about what other ppl think of you, ur wasting ur life

spending time worrying about what other ppl think when they look at you is sooo useless. you are creating imaginary and false ideas of urself thro others. you walk past a group of ppl and you immediately become voice insecurities to yourself. who even are those ppl? they are nothing compared to you. thinking that their “prettier” or “richer” or “smarter” is stupid asf bc all those are just society aspects that are false. there is no such thing as being prettier than blah blah blah. you are you just like she is she and he is he and they are they. we are all our own ppl so why waste time thinking ur less than in other ppl’s eyes? spend that time telling urself how valuable you are. realize that insecurities arent real. theres literally nothing wrong with you. you are perfect period. society may tell you that you arent but who tf are they? you wanna stick to a victim mindset or you wanna be accurate in knowing you are already perfect?

you cant spend all your life worrying about what others think of you. stop being goofy and know that the only opinion that matters is you. focus on the thing that rly matters: you. love urself bc ur the one that will never leave ur side.

recovery tips: dance in front of the mirror naked while listening to your favorite song. notice how perfect your body is. the thought that ur ugly is the same as the thought of your pretty. theres no difference right? so now you know how much of a waste of time it is to think you arent perfect.

think about how the ppl you think are thinking bad about you are a bunch of nobodies. do you think they care about those insecurities you think you have? no. so why would you care and stress about their useless opinions. notice how those thoughts are coming from you. those thoughts say that they are staring at you and that they think you look weird. thoughts arent real🤡. all this is an illusion. so enjoy the ride and dont get caught up in useless little things like thoughts and other random ppl. enjoy yourself bc you can.

2. dont waste your time on male validation

as a female in this society, we are expected to look up to men and please them…first of all.. look at what a beauty you are. you rly think a beautiful being like you would have to worry about pleasing others, especially men?? nahhh. never. remember that that little part of you that feels the need to impress men is just a result of this society. forget about it. the only one you need to impress is you.

recovery tips: know that you are a powerful limitless being. never accept impressing others. your so high up that ppl have to impress you. its never the opposite. listen to bad bitch edit audios. watch iconic 2000s movies. realize that you are the main character. why would a queen and a main character focus on impressing ppl that are already below her??… exactly.

3. be spontaneous and free

go out for a damn walk in the park or wherever. dont even worry about where your going. just walk. just enjoy the moment. get tf off the phone and take some fucking sun. for all my beautiful black angels, we all know that our afros grow towards the sun. you notice how when ppl start to get locs, they get thicker like a tree branch? while afros grow like a tree itself. we are nature. go out to the sun and let it bless your beautiful melanated skin and incredible afro hair. for everyone now: go have fun in the sun. humans are not meant to stay at home all day on they phone like stop being stupid and take a walk wherever.

dont worry and dont plan. just do and it will be exciting believe me.

4. love your beautiful black hair.

when i was little, i didnt know how to take care of my pretty type 4 hair bc my mom didnt have the same hair type as me. i would always look at the girls with straight hair or loose curls and wonder why i dont have that hair type. now im in love with my hair bc i learned to take care of it. the tight curls, the way i can put it in twists or cornrows or leave it in an afro. my hair is so versatile! theres no way i cant love it. idc if ppl call ur hair “difficult” or “too hard” or “ugly”… thats bc they will never know what its like having perfect hair like this. they could neva compare and thats a fact. it took me years to love my hair and i wish all little black babies grow up to know how perfect they hair is.

black barbie hair tips:

get a moisturizing shampoo and deep conditioner. i recommend companies like shea moisture, mielle organics, camille rose naturals, kinky-curly, and there are more just research and try which ever works for your hair

soak your hair in warm water and massage your scalp. use your shampoo and scrub with your finger tips not your finger nails (or else you can get cuts). shampoo 2-3 times.

put ur deep conditioner and when you detangle ur hair, use your fingers and detangle in small sections. do not use a small comb. use a wide tooth comb if you want. then, you can put ur hair in twists and put a cap on or steam it in the shower so that the deep conditioner moisturizes your hair.

rinse and use a moisturizing cream / leave in conditioner and put it on ur hair in sections and comb thro. do big or mini twists to lock in product.

when you have on an afro, do not pick your curls and pull it. this can cause breakage and split ends. when you have twists on, water your beautiful hair with water and some product in a spray bottle everyday / few times a week. think of your hair like a plant, you have to water and care for it.

when you take out your twist of any other protective styles, take your time to reduce breakage. and its better to detangle hair when it has conditioner in it. try using pre-shampoo when detangling dry hair.

spend time understanding your hair. thats how special it is. love it bc its raw black beauty.

everyones hair is different so what i do for my hair and the products i use will not always work you. research your hair porosity and hair types. a hair care journey starts off messy at times but the more it lasts, the easier it gets. you can start off hating your hair but you will soon realize how much of a perfect prize it is 💋

yess! i love them with my entire heart. i will never get over averyjameson. hope you like them <3. @ilyiwdtpyiwmyhmtkys helped me with this. i hope this makes up for the atrocity that was my last post.

jamie will sit with her for hours listening to her talk about her mom. he takes note of everything she says in his head (like she said her mom used to make her snickerdoodle cookies sometimes and she hasn't had them in years. jamie learned how to make them and gave them to her as a dessert during one of their rooftop dates)

when there's a lot of paparrazi around, he walks in front of her so that she's hidden from the camera bc he knows she hates getting pictures taken of her (he makes sure to hold her hand the entire time so he doesn't lose her)

they love taking walks at night when possible. they know they cant do it often cause there's a chance avery might get killed, but they're both night owls so they try to go as often as possible.

they love sending each other snaps of funny pictures they took of the other person.

avery finds the fact that he's half british hot so he speaks in a british accent sometimes to make her blush

he knows she sometimes takes the comments on her appearance seriously so he calls her 'my pretty girl' 'gorgeous' and other things so she knows he finds her beautiful and that she shouldn't listen to those comments

they love having dates in the dark. rooftop dates at night, candlelight dinners when its dark, picnic dates while stargazing, etc

most of the pictures the paparazzi manage to take of them include jamie staring at avery like she hung the moon for him/following her around like a lost puppy. fans think they're adorable and love making edits.

jamie loves seeing her hair in a braid. he finds it really beautiful so he learned how to make braids so that he could do them on her.

avery gets cold really easily so he makes sure he always has one of his hoodies on handy to give to her when she gets cold.

they love taking baths together. they find them so relaxing and comforting. thats when they usually talk about their feelings and things (cause 1. they're back to back so they can't see each other and 2. they're already naked physically so why not also emotionally if you know what i mean)

he gets her special editions of her favorite childhood books that her mom used to read her. he gets them signed by the author and all.

jameson has a ring with 'avery's property' engraved on it. avery finds it cringe but jamie still loves it.

jamie watches all of her interviews over and over again bc he eats anything related to avery up. he saves his favorite interviews and posts them on his insta account.

his background picture is a pic of avery holding a cup of hot chocolate in winter. she's smiling really widely (very rare) all bundled up in her coat and mittens. she's all red in the face

avery hates the picture and has tried to change the background pic before but jamie either stops her or puts it back.

avery's background pic is a picture of jamie staring cross eyed at his nose bc she told him he had smth on it but he didn't

when avery goes in the shower, she puts clothes on the counter to wear afterwards. he always sneaks in and replaces with his own clothes cause he loves seeing her wear it.

they get really cold at night during the winter. they burrito themselves in blankets and huddle up close to each other

when jamie can't sleep, avery sings to him. he finds her voice calming and it reminds him that she's there (alive).

jamie got a shirt from xander with avery's face on it as a gag gift. he actually wears it in public.

whenever someone hates on avery's appearance in public. jamie always goes 'isn't my gf so fucking hot' or 'aren't haters so fucking annoying. they're such attention seeking bastards'. everyone shuts up.

one of avery's favorite things to do is to lie her head on his lap and stare up at him. jamie will look down at her and they just end up staring at each other lovingly whispering sweet things about one another.

jamie did a ton of research on flowers and their meaning to be able to create the perfect bouquet for avery.

i dont want a rebellius dean. i want the dean who no matter if he dislikes an order, he will follow it, bc and order is an order and he is a soldier. he likes to act like a he is some cool rebel but at the end of the day, he'll keep his head down and do as he has been told (and the intro personal conflict "i have to do this even if i dont like it" is top tier)

i dont a want a dean who fights john. i want the dean who shouldnt forgive him but does it anyways bc that's his dad. i want the dean who tries so hard to be a mediator when john and sam fight again and again cause someone has to keep the family together.

i dont want the dean who wants to stop hunting. i want the dean who doesnt have a life outside the life, the man you take away hunting and doesnt know who he is because that's what his life has always been and will be, there was never another option so he doesnt exist without it. he cant stop bc he si nothing outside of hunting (edit: early seasons dean, he gets some character develepment)

i dont want a dean who emphatizes with monster bc he feels like one (thats's literally sam character). yeah, he can feel like a monster in the way "i killed so much people, im a monster" but not in the supernatural monster way. he thinks mostly in black and white about supernatural monster-ish stuff, and yeah, with time and all that sam, benny, etc he learns to tolerate supernaturals but emphatizing on how a supernatural-related freak way? hell no. i want the dean who has to deconstructe himself on monsters for the sake of the people he loves and will fuck up (but try)

want those arcs? sam winchester is right there but dont change dean's. he is already an extremely interesting character on his own

queen of tears spoilers!!

identity is above all else, it seems like. ep 14 of queen of tears ruined me in all the good ways. when the question is "do you want to die as yourself?" vs "are you willing to live at the cost of who you are as a person?", the ultimate answer hae-in gives is no. she'd rather come to peace with the prospect of death with all of her memories of loving and, in turn, being loved coming with her. the death of memories is more painful than the death of her life itself. hyunwoo begging and sobbing in her arms does not deter her, however much she wants to keep on living. as herself. keep on living as the hong hae-in who loved dearly and who was loved, desperately so.

a loss of identity is death to everything that ever had a hand in helping her become who she is now. this brings me to the phrase "death is for the living". the dead do not mourn or face the aftermath of their last breath in the world of the living. the living, those who are left behind, are the ones who truly know what death is. so it is painful when hyunwoo, the man who isn't struck with the terminal illness bound to take her life any time soon, begs almost on his knees for hae-in, the woman who's counting the seconds left she has to live, to give up her sense of self. it's understandable how both of them stand strong in their desires. one fears becoming a stranger to all that she loves and one fears becoming familiar to life without the one he cannot live without. so he does everything in his power to have her take the surgery (all effort is in vain, she will not give up her identity).

i love this episode so much. im still only halfway through it but i had to give my two cents. such a beautifully tragic dilemma of two people who love. one loves by wanting to remember, one loves by giving everything to make her live. have a taste of love again for the first time. he says that he'll be the first person she'll meet and get to know again after the surgery. that he will still be there for her when she wakes up a completely different, empty, and lost person. he wants her to live, does not care if she'll ever even be able to reconnect with him ever again. he believes that she deserves to wake up another day and smile. to still be able to make new memories.

in the end they're both very selfish people who love selflessly.

edit: help me my stomach hurts from laughing so hard oml not him using his face and body card to annoy her into living. using jealousy as a mean to motivate her to take the freaking surgery and live ugh im in tears ahhahahah i love how if she doesn't become convinced the first few times when he's nice, he just intentionally pisses her off or annoys her into doing things to help herself 😭😭 thr only way to get hae-in motivated to live: make her mad at himself and have her do beneficial things out of sheer SPITE

Starscream deserved better.

The more and more transformer media I consume the more angry I get at the treatment of Starscream. He’s just desperately trying to survive.

OH YEAH BUT MEGATRON, THE ABSOLUTE ASSHAT?? The ABUSER?? He gets a redemption arc!!! Literally fuck OFF.

‘The decepticons are no more bc I now know what it’s like to be oppressed :(’ fuck off. The reason you are the way you are is because you liked the power. He already knew what it was like to be oppressed, because that was THE WHOLE FUCKING PREMISE OF THE WAR!

I haven’t finished the series but I’ve seen enough from previous iterations to know that this bullshit is going to drive me insane. Here’s an idea: stop giving abusers redemption arcs because you think they’re hot. How about we give redemption arcs to the victims (starscream) instead. OR JUST KEEP THEM BOTH EVIL! IDFC! BUT DONT MAKE IT SEEM LIKE STARSCREAM CANT BE REDEEMED AND MEGATRON CAN. Blatant victim blaming.

I didn’t mean to come off so aggressive in this part, I apologise for that. Here I further explain what I mean. Please read the whole thing.

Just because I feel the need to say this: Im not excusing starscream or apologising him. He’s an asshole in every sense of the word, and he’s had his fair share of… shall we say “bad deeds”. He’s toxic. I’m not excusing that (it’s actually another reason I like him, the way he behaves and his personality intrigue me!). I actually also like Megatron in that way. He’s a character I love to hate sort of deal. And some people just love him! That’s also okay! What isn’t okay is the romanticisation and fetishisation of abuse. Don’t excuse either of these characters toxic behaviours just because he’s hot lmao.

My issue with it is that Megatron, who has done so much worse, got redeemed whereas Starscream is continually demonised or straight-up killed. It just makes no sense to me how Starscream, who continually throughout many iterations seems to have the most potential for redemption, is demonised. (if people want I could write an analysis on starscream to further explain because it would be fun).

Either redeem Starscream AND Megatron, or just Starscream.

there is a point between death, endings, and life, beginnings.it is called reincarnation to me but to some rebirth.

this is the period of change, of movement... this is the hard part. the point where we are working for our goals and we barely see anything moving. the point where we get scared, confused, disoriented, distracted.

this period is the only period that is different for every person. it takes different lengths of time, different obstacles we have to overcome, etc.

to work through this point, it is hard but it is all about faith in the cycle, the faith in the blank space, the faith it will be over.

can you stop one path and hop on the next? hell yeah! is it always a good choice? nope! but it is your choice.

where am i going with this?

the fact that we have to keep hope when we're traveling down this journey of manifestation, or shifting, or getting into the void -- whatever it may be! keep hope, in any way you can.

the bible says "walk by faith not by sight" in 2 corinthians 5:7. in other words, ignore what you see and have faith that everything you want is there, or will be!

find something u can hold on to, no matter how dumb it seems, believe it. hold onto it. it can be love, it can be a person, it can be a stuffed animal! remember that's why you started and why you can keep going.

ok i MAY be crazy delulu reaching rn but im listening to the st soundtracks and i just noticed something interesting.

there is a very specific line in california dreamin that i never realized applies so much to the show.

“you know the preacher likes the cold. he knows im gonna stay.”

i just rewatched season 2 and “he likes it cold” is a huge reoccurring fact. it was the key to disconnecting will from the mindflayer.

and i know there is big meaning to this song choice compared to others bc some GENIUS on tiktok that i cant find now :( made an edit to this song with the final scene bc they realized that EVERY LYRIC IN THE CHORUS FORESHADOWS EXACTLY HOW THE SEASON ENDS!!!!

i’ve always been obsessed with this revelation but the verse about the church had always tripped me up. until now.

“stopped into a church i passed along the way, well i got down on my knees and i pretend to pray.”

the church might represent will “stopping” in the upside down and pretending to pray could refer to s2 will being a super spy. his “pretending to pray” was spying back on the mindflayer, saving hopper, and using morse code to talk to everyone. he was pretending to still be the mindflayers slave and betrayed him.

in this case i think vecna is the preacher. he likes it cold. “he knows im gonna stay” could reference the fact that will was in the upside down the longest. barb died right away and brenner in s1 says 6 people total were taken. why was will the only one that survived? why did vecna hang on to him instead of just killing him immediately? the lab even went to the effort of faking wills death so they’d stop looking for him!! vecna knew that will would stay. but why?

i dont even really have a conclusion to this. the only thing is if this is correct and was intentional its very focused on s2 and the mindflayer and their connection so maybe it could mean that in s5 will might be in a similar situation as s2.

all of this could be WAY outta line and its actually just a california bop that the duffers wanted to use. but “the preacher likes it cold” really got me thinking. i used to hear that verse and try to decipher what the church line meant that i completely disregarded the blatant “he likes it cold” reference.

Pairing: Hangman x f!reader, (eventual) Rooster x f!reader

Warnings: none, lots of innuendos

Word Count: 2.1k

Summary: Reader is married and shares a child with Hangman, life and circumstances drives reader into Rooster’s arms, but Hangman isn’t giving up that easily

Author’s Note: I cant believe I’m posting the second part of this story in less than 12 hours I was honestly pleasantly surprised at how much you all enjoyed this premise. I mostly wrote the story down for me and my sister bcs i could not get it out of my mind. I honestly couldn’t stop thinking about the next part of the story so I knew I HAD to write it down. I know that Hangman was a little ooc in the last part, in my defense I wasn’t completely used to writing him yet, and I feel like that ooc’ness was large in part due to the tension between him and the reader. I hope he’s a bit more in character i this one. And to my rooster fans, bare with me, just a little bit more until he makes his appearance. Jake stares at the spot in the driveway where your car was parked, a small migraine forming from the amount of travel he endured in the past two days. He knew you were still upset, but he’d never felt this much ice from you before.

In the past, when you were mad at him you would scream, yell, and on one or two occasions, throw a shoe at him. This time around was different. You were….cordial. Jake could handle anger or heat, that’s what drew you to one another in the first place. He’d never met anyone whose fire matched his.

The Hard Deck was packed despite being a Tuesday night. Its patrons consisted mostly of uniforms, with a small mix of civilians. You were working the bar that night, while simultaneously reading from a thick purple book, adorned with the large block letters “LSAT”. You were already annoyed at the pilots who sauntered into the bar, egos the size of an elephant, your patience only wearing thinner as the night progressed.

Jake “Hangman” Seresin walked in around 10 o’clock with an ego that could rival the other pilot’s in the establishment combined. “Hey baby, you wanna get me a beer?” You hear his voice behind you as you bury your nose into your book. You respond by not turning around or looking up. “First of all, I’m not your ‘baby’ and I’ll get to you when I get to you. You’re not the only person at this bar.”

“Okay I may not be the only person at this bar, but I guarantee you. I’m the sexiest.” Jake says with a smirk.

You were now officially irked.

You looked up from your book to see possibly one of the most attractive men you’ve ever laid your eyes on. His blonde hair seemed to reflect the moonlight despite being indoors. He had a jawline that you were sure was sharp enough to cut one of your beer taps, and a body probably carved by God himself. But what caught your attention the most…the mischievous glint in his eyes, a small fire building that begged you to challenge him.

But of course, you would never let him have the pleasure of knowing that you found him breathtaking. “Sexiest? There are other S words I would use to describe you.” You smirk.

“Oh? what would those be?” He inquired smugly. “Spectacular, Stunning, Sublime, Satisfying?”

“How about Self Absorbed, Simple Minded, and Stuck-up?” You challenged.

Jake stared at you with a grin on his face, eyes twinkling in interest, as he scanned your body up and down.

“Sharp tongue you got there, I wonder what else it can do?” He said with a wink.

You felt the fire grow, leaving a tingling sensation in the pit of your stomach. Not sure if it was anger or desire but you were determined to put the cocky pilot in his place.

“I’ll tell you what, play me in a round of pool. If you win, then maybe I’ll let you find out exactly what my tongue can do.” You paused, watching that mischievous glint in his eyes twinkle.” But if I win, then I ring the bell.” You proposed as you pointed to a sign on the bar:

“Disrespect a woman, the Navy, or have your phone on the bar and you buy a round”.

“I’ll agree to those terms, but try not to be too upset when you lose Sweets. By the way, I’m sure you will have no problem with this but I don't like teeth.'' He said arrogantly, only to be met by a roll of your eyes.

“Stripes or solids, Sweets?” He asked as he tosses you a pool cue.

“Cash or credit, Zuko?” You rebutted your own nickname for him.

“Ouch Sweets you wound me, I am so much foxier than John Travolta” the handsome stranger replied as he dramatically clutches his heart

“You may be, but you’re just as arrogant.” You say, with a bat of your eyelashes.

“How about this, I’ll stop calling you Zuko, if you stop calling me Sweets?”

“No can do, Sweets, looks like I’m going by Zuko now. Unless you wanna know my real name, so you know what to moan later after this is done.” He said with a wink.

You couldn’t help the heat that was now traveling lower down your body. You quickly turned your face away from him so he didn’t see the redness spreading on your cheeks.

“Call me whatever you want Zuko, but when this is over you will be buying me and everyone in this bar a drink.” You retorted as you bent over to take the break shot.

“If you just wanted me to buy you a drink Sweets, you should’ve just asked. I’m not the one to deny a pretty la-Hggh!” He hunched over in pain as you hit him in the stomach with the pool cue, sinking 2 different solid balls in the process.

“Oops!” You said with a smile.

“Your turn Zuko.”

You two continued an intense game with both of you neck and neck the entire game. There were moments where he stood a little too close to you. Moments where you could feel the heat coming off of him, making the temperature of your body rise even higher. The game ended with you finally sinking the 8 ball. You stood up straight, smiling satisfied at defeating your opponent.

“Looks like you owe me a drink, Zuko.” You smiled at him. His smirk dropped for a second upon his defeat, but it was back as quickly as it left.

“Good game Sweets.” He admitted as he offered a handshake. You grabbed his hand to reciprocate the handshake, accidentally noticing how his larger hand enveloped your smaller one. You couldn’t help but notice the warmth that radiated between both of your hands.

“The name’s Lt. Jake Seresin, call sign, Hangman.” He said, you let go of his hand after what felt like an eternity. You nodded in acknowledgement.

“And your name, Sweets?” Jake asked.

“Nuh uh. You haven’t earned that quite yet, Seresin.” You flashed him a smile, as you walked away.

Jake watched you in awe as you strutted back to the bar and rang the bell, causing everyone in The Hard Deck to cheer.

That’s when Hangman knew he found a match in you.

After 3 persistent weeks, he finally learned your name and 2 weeks after that you agreed to go on a date. You were never the type to go down easy and Jake lived for your constant battles. Even his proposal to you was during the heat of an argument.

“(Y/n) I don't understand why you refuse to hear me out on this!” Jake yelled exasperatedly.

“Because I’ve told you over and over again, I am not going to give up my dreams just so I can follow you around the world like a sad puppy dog!” You replied with equal fervor.

“I am not asking you to give up your career, I am just asking you to take a job that will give you more flexibility, we hardly see each other as it is!”

“Jake, I did not bust my ass at law school, and brown nose at this firm for a whole degrading year just so I can leave because you want me to!”

“Why are you incapable of any compromise (y/n)?! Do you even care about making this relationship work?” Jake screamed in a huff.

“You’re unbelievable, I’ve done nothing but support your dreams and your ambition for the past 4 years Seresin, I have been the one sitting in this goddamn house while you’re shipped off God knows where?! I can never know how long you’ll be gone or if you’ll even come back! I have not once complained or stood in your way. The one time that I ask for your support, I’m suddenly selfish? I’m the one who doesn’t want to make it work?” Your screams turned into anguished cries as you tried to wipe off the tears spilling down your face, struggling to hold yourself up. You slid down the wall tucking your legs into your chest.

Jake paced angrily as he processed what you said, “UGH FUCK!” He exclaimed as he threw his phone across the room. He walked into the closet and came back out, but you didn’t notice the small black box he brought back with him.

“I never want to stand in the way of your dreams (y/n). It’s just so fucking hard only seeing you for days at a time and not having you beside me/” His voice still boisterous, but less aggressive. “You are the most aggravating woman I’ve ever met, how we haven’t killed each other yet I don’t know, but you challenge me, you keep me grounded, and I cannot imagine another day where you are not my wife!”

His last words caught your attention and left a gasp in your throat as you looked up. Your eyes met as he kneeled in front of you with a ring.

“Please spend the rest of our lives humbling me (y/n). Marry me.” He stared at you as he awaited your response.

You nodded your head as the tears threatened to spill over once again. But this time, it was happy tears.

You accepted his embrace and sat in his arms.

“I will marry you, as long as you admit that I’m Spectacular, Stunning, Sublime, Satisfying.” You said with a smirk.

“Anything for you Sweets.”

He did admit that you were all those things that night and showed you just how satisfying he could be.

All he’s ever known in your relationship is fire, if you were screaming at him or locking him out of the house or even giving him a bitter remark, he would know how to handle it. It's not like you were being particularly unkind to him, that would make sense in his head. But this… pleasantness, almost indifference, coming from you left a very bad taste in his mouth.

“Daddy! You’re not paying attention!” His feisty 4 year old exclaims at him, sitting at her child sized piano. Astrid had his eyes and his blonde hair but everything else was all you. The sassy attitude, the way that she put her hands on her hips when she demanded your attention, her love for spicy food despite only being 4 years old, the way that you both furrowed your eyebrows and grit your teeth when hungry, and especially the way that you had him completely wrapped around your fingers.

“Aww I’m sorry Pixie, can you play the song again?” Jake asks his daughter with a smile.

“Fine daddy, but this is the last time okay?” She threatens with her small toddler sized finger.

“Yup exactly like her mother through and through.” He thought to himself.

Astrid plays the opening chords of a song Hangman (unfortunately) knew too well.

“You shake my nerves and you rattle my brain, too much love drives a man insane, you broke my will, oh what a thrill, goodness gracious great balls of fire!”

Hangman sat as he listened to his daughter sing the entire song, she missed a few notes and got some of the words wrong or jumbled up but he was very impressed with her skill especially at 4 years old.

Hangman clapped, whistled, and gave a standing ovation as Astrid finished her performance and did her dramatic bows.

“Wow, that was amazing, Pixie! I didn’t know you could play piano!”

“Thank you Daddy! Uncle Roo Roo taught me!” Astrid said with a big smile

“Uncle Roo Roo?” Jake asked with an amused grin

“Uncle Rooster!”

Jake felt his stomach drop.

“So Uncle Rooster has been hanging out with you and your mom?” He asked his daughter cautiously.

“Yeah sometimes, I usually see him whenever Mommy is sad, he makes her smile and makes me chocolate chip pancakes!” The 4 year old answered enthusiastically.

“That’s good Pixie. Come on it's getting late, let's get you in a bath so you’re not stinky when Mommy comes home.”

“Okay!” Astrid says as she starts up the stairs.

Jake loved the time he spent with his daughter, and he was thankful that (y/n) still let him be around after what he did. But he couldn’t help but feel a brick form in his stomach as he got Astrid ready for bed.

Jake patiently waited for (y/n) to return, sitting on the couch in the living room. He eventually fell asleep waiting. He finally hears a car pull up into the driveway and he checks the time to see it was a little past 11. (y/n) walks into the house, immediately finding Jake’s eyes.

“Hey Zuko.” She said with a small smile.

“(Y/n), how’s ‘Uncle’ Rooster?”
