It had been raining heavily when it happened. The harsh sound of a wood door slamming shut in front of a seventeen year old girl. She had just been thrown out of her house by her parents since she had committed a unforgivable sin in their eyes. She was being shunned, punished.
So there, she knelt in a puddle of rainwater outside her parents’ house. She replayed the events of the night in her head, remembering the looks of disappointment and utter disgust on her parents faces when she confessed. She begged her father as he dragged her towards the front door before throwing her out into the rain and slamming the door in her face. They had no daughter, not anymore at least.
In slight shock and disbelief, Y/n simply sat there for a couple minutes. She cried to herself because she honestly didn’t know what she was going to do or where she was going to go tonight. After some time, she rose to her feet and began walking wherever her feet took her.
She walked against the harsh winds and the cold rain, trudging through beside everything that just happened. She hugged her arms close to her for warmth and she kept her head hung low so water didn’t get into her eyes. She didn’t carry any of her belongings because she didn’t have any with her. She only had the clothes on her back which were now soaked to the skin.
It was dark outside, probably around ten o’clock at night. At the given moment, Eddie was making himself a little late night snack. He opened the bag of popcorn and proceeded to dumb its contents into a large bowl. His uncle was situated on the couch, flipping through channels on the television. He grumbled something about nothing good being on.
All of the sudden, there was a knock on the front door of their trailer. Both of their heads turned towards the door. They hadn’t been expecting anyone, not at this hour and not in this storm. Nevertheless, Eddie went across the room and pulled the door open. There, standing in front of him, was his girlfriend.
“Y/N?” Eddie asked.
He quickly took note of her state. Her clothes were absolutely drenched, sticking to her skin. Her hair stuck to her face, but it had been brushed away a few times so she could see where she was going. The skin under her eyes was red and puffy because she had been crying for so long. And the tip of her nose was pink from crying too. She said nothing.
“What are you doing here? It’s late and it’s pouring--” Eddie wondered. He was quickly cut off when she took a step forward and wrapped her arms around him in a desperate hug.
Just then, the tears came back. She squeezed her eyes shut tight in attempts to keep them from falling, but it was no use. Her body racked with sobs. She cried ever so softly and quietly.
“Hey. Hey,” Eddie tried to reassure her. “It’s okay. I’m right here.”
Without hesitation, Eddie ushered her inside his warm and cozy trailer. He closed the door behind him. He wrapped his arm around her shoulder in hopes of bringing her some sense of comfort.
In a second, Uncle Wayne had returned from the hallway with a brand new towel in his hands. He handed it to her. His face laced with a strong look of concern for her.
In response, Y/n quietly thanked him for the towel. She wrapped the towel around her shoulders, shivering softly. This helped dry her off a bit and gave her some warmth.
“C-Could I stay here for a while? My parents--,” Y/n almost couldn’t bring herself to say. “They kicked me out.”
“Yeah. Of course. You can stay in my room,” Eddie nodded his head. He figured it would be best not to ask questions about what happened right now. She was clearly distraught and she probably just needed some time.
Now, there was only one bedroom in the trailer. Out of the kindness of Wayne’s heart, he let his nephew have the room to himself. He slept on a folding cot in the living room. The system worked. Neither of them complained about it.
Eddie was changing the sheets on his bed since he hadn’t done that it the longest time and since he had a guest staying. While Eddie gathered the gross mess of dirty sheets in his hands, Y/n had shuffled to stand by his bedside table. She timidly grabbed the small opened box of condoms laying there.
Naturally, Eddie lifted his head to look at her. He saw that she was holding his box of condoms. His facial expression dropped in sudden realization. Hesitantly, Y/n lowered the box of condoms back onto the side table. She turned her head to look at him with tears streaming in her eyes. Everything was communicated so clearly with that one look in her eyes.
“Are you--” Eddie questioned. He took a step forward. He pointed to her. “Did I--” Eddie couldn’t speak.
Without saying anything to confirm or deny the accusation, Y/n went to wrap her arms around her stomach as if she were trying to hide the fact. She could feel the tears streaming down the sides of her face. She was so overcome with emotions.
After some time, Y/n had dried off. She changed into some spare clothes that Eddie had given her to borrow. She crawled into bed with the hopes of falling asleep and waking up from this terrible nightmare. Thankfully, Eddie was there to help her fall asleep. He simply brushed her hair down with his fingers and that seemed to lull her to sleep.
Once Y/n was sleeping, Eddie quietly exited his bedroom and closed the door behind him. He shuffled back into the living room. He found his uncle rearranging the living room, settling up another bed on the ground for his nephew. Upon hearing his approach, Uncle Wayne turned around to face his nephew. He looked at him expectingly.
“I—I got her pregnant,” Eddie choked. He had a build up of tears in the corners of his eyes, threatening to fall at any given moment.
“Oh Eddie,” Uncle Wayne said softly. He looked at his nephew with such sympathy in his eyes. He wasn’t going to yell at him or scold him like his father would have.
Instead, Uncle Wayne brought his nephew over to the couch in the living room. He helped him sit down with a single hand on his back for support. He didn’t want to ask any questions. He didn’t want to overwhelm him, because he probably was feeling an overwhelming sense of various emotions. So he sat quietly and waited for his nephew to talk to him.
Out of instinct, Eddie rubbed his hand over his face. He kept his hand over his mouth, reveling in the news that was just broken to him. He swallowed the heavy lump lingering at the back of his throat. He began to panic a little.
“I-I just don't understand,” Eddie began. He raised his hand in defense. “I mean, we were so careful every time. W-We used protection,” Eddie claimed.
His uncle only nodded his head understandingly. He had always been the more quiet type, more of a listener than a talker. He turned his head and looked into the distance. His nephew breathed a long sigh.
“You’ll get through this,” Uncle Wayne encouraged. He went to look at his nephew sitting beside him. He sent him a weak smile. “Both of you will,” Uncle Wayne added.
“I’m not ready to be a father,” Eddie shook his head.
“Most people aren't,” Uncle Wayne shrugged his shoulders. “But you will be when the time comes,” Uncle Wayne concluded.
That night, Eddie couldn’t seem to fall asleep. It wasn’t because he wasn’t sleeping in his own bed. It was more because he couldn’t stop thinking. The questions of “how did this happen” or “what are we going to do” kept coming up. And he couldn’t answer them.
Now, Y/n told him that she found out just earlier that day after having stolen a handful of pregnancy tests from the nearby gas station. She brought one of the pregnancy tests to show him for even more proof. And sure enough, there were two little pink lines on it.
For some reason, Eddie kept hearing the sounds of a newborn crying. He didn’t know how to take care of a baby. He'd never even held one before! Whether he liked it or not, he was going to have a newborn baby to take care of and provide for a couple months.
In that moment, Eddie decided that he was going to do everything in his power to make sure his girlfriend was cared for during the pregnancy. He was choosing to be there for her. He was going to provide her with all of her needs, whether that be food cravings or much needed back massages.
Even after the baby was born, Eddie was determined to pull his own weight. He thought about how he could take the night shifts and feed the baby a bottle. He'd figure out how to change a diaper. He wondered if there was a parenting book in the library that he could check out. No matter what, Eddie was going to take care of her and the baby.
During the early stages of the first trimester, Y/n had the worst case of morning sickness. Almost every morning, she was woken up by the sudden urge to throw up. She’d have to race to the bathroom just to yank open the toilet seat. Her stomach would contract violently as heaps of throw up came out of her mouth.
Despite the fact that it was around five or six in the morning, Eddie would always come in to hold her hair behind her head. He’d stand over her hunched figure sitting on the ground. Her hair was collected in a tight grip at the back of her head so she never had to worry about loose strands falling into her face. Sometimes, Eddie found himself rubbing her back in a reassuring manner and whisper encouraging words to her. He was in there every morning with her.
Over the next couple weeks, the word had finally spread around town. A large majority of the towns people were disgusted by the news, secretly calling her ‘a whore’ behind her back. And saying things like ‘that’s what she gets for sleeping around’ despite the fact that she had only slept with her boyfriend. And they didn’t blame her parents for throwing her out on the streets, thinking that she deserved it and maybe she’d learn her lesson.
Then there was a small minority of people who just felt pity for her. This group main consisted of the community who lived in the trailer park. They had heard that she had been thrown out by her parents. They felt bad for her. She was just a kid anyways.
The worst part was the high school. She had stopped coming to school since her parents refused to pay the monthly school bill. Now this only sparked rumors in the hallways. The vast majority of students figured that she had gotten pregnant, though they didn’t know by whom. This became such a talked about scandal that the principal had to address it at one of the school assemblies.
Whenever Eddie and Y/n would go out, it was inevitable that they were going to receive stares from people passing. Especially from women who were always trying to see if she was starting to show yet. Eddie always handed her one of his jackets and she used this to conceal her growing stomach from the world.
One day, there was a knock on the front door. At the given moment, Eddie was working on his campaign in his bedroom and Uncle Wayne was working. So Y/n went to open the door. She figured it was just one of the neighbors coming to stop by.
But when she opened the door, she was surprised to see Mrs Wheeler and Mrs Mayfield standing in front of her. They both wore the biggest and brightest smiles on their faces. And they each carried a large box full of miscellaneous things.
Behind Mrs Mayfield was her own daughter named Max. She had just started her first year of high school and it was their first year living in the trailer park themselves. In contrast, Mrs Wheeler came from the middle class suburbs. She had her own large white cookie cutter house, lined with perfectly trimmed hedges. It felt like such an odd thing, seeing those two women together considered their very different backgrounds.
“Mrs Wheeler,” Y/n acknowledged because she knew her daughter Nancy from school. “Mrs Mayfield,” Y/n added.
For a second, Y/n really didn’t know what to do. She looked between the two women, wondering what they could possibly want from her. She shifted her weight onto one side and just stood there awkwardly. Then she cleared her throat.
“Is there something I can do for you?” Y/n wondered. She quickly wrapped her sweater around her evident baby bump because she felt so self-conscious about it.
“We have some things for you,” Mrs Mayfield said. She gestured to the large cardboard box in her hands. “And for your baby,” Mrs Mayfield included with a gentle smile.
“M-My baby?” Y/n questioned.
“Yeah. Just a couple things that we collected from when we had little ones of our own,” Mrs Wheeler replied. She glanced at the other woman standing beside her.
“Mainly just clothing and toys,” Mrs Mayfield nodded her head.
"Of course,” Y/n was brought back. She placed her hand on her forehead. “Come on it,” she said while moving out of the way and opening the door a little further.
Together, Mrs Wheeler and Mrs Mayfield placed the two large boxes on the coffee table in the center of the living room. Then the two of them proceeded to sit down on the couch. They opened the boxes and started taking some of the contents out.
So Mrs Mayfield pulled out a couple newborn onesies. She claimed that Max was born much too big for the clothes she had so they weren’t even used yet. The only unfortunate thing was that she only had one daughter so there weren't any boy themed clothes. But Y/n claimed that it was fine and she was most grateful for them anyways.
Now Mrs Wheeler had much more baby clothes on her. Since she had two daughters and one son of her own, she brought a whole variety of options since they wouldn’t know the gender until the baby was born. She was even so kind as to give her a newborn and toddler car seat, stating that Holly had just grown out of her’s.
Then came the baby toys. With the help of all three Wheeler kids, they had assembled a small pile of old toys that they didn’t necessarily play with anymore. Nancy had decided to give away some of her stuffed animals, thinking she was a little too old to have those now. Mike gave away some of his little action figures, toy trains, and automobiles. And Holly wanted to give the new baby her old rattle, some building blocks, and pop up books.
All the while, Y/n was marveling at the adorable little toys and trinkets. She let her fingers graze over a few of them, realizing how blessed she was to receive these. Then she held up a little onesie to view, which only made the smile grow on her face. She thanked them for their generosity.
On the sidelines, Max was sitting on the floor next to the coffee table. She kept stealing glances towards the older teenage girl. She saw the baby bump peeking out from behind her sweater.
“Do you think you’ll have a boy or a girl?” Max wondered curiously. She kept a blank face, but she was beaming with genuine curiosity.
“I-I don’t know. I haven’t really thought about it,” Y/n confessed with a shrug of the shoulders. She folded some baby clothes in her lap, setting them off to the side. “Eddie and I-- we are both an only child,” Y/n explained.
“Have you thought of names yet?” Max mentioned. She felt the smile growing at the corners of her lips.
“No,” Y/n smiled back. “No, we haven't.”
That night, Eddie came into his bedroom carrying two bowls of ice cream. He sat down on the bed and went to lean against the headboard next to his girlfriend. He placed her the bowl of ice cream on top of her round stomach and it stayed there perfectly. He began eating his own bowl of ice cream.
“We really should come up with names, Eddie.” Y/n said. She discarded an empty notebook that she had been holding for the longest time. She had been trying to think of good names to write down.
“Here,” Eddie said as he placed his bowl on the bedside table. He proceeded to pick up the notebook and pencil. “I got a couple names in mind,” Eddie confessed.
He quickly scribbled down a short list of names on the piece of paper. Afterwards, Eddie handed her the notebook for her to read. He grabbed his bowl of ice cream so he could keep eating it. He stuffed a spoonful in his mouth.
“Really?” Y/n looked at him. “Ozzy is your first pick?” Y/n said with a slight scoff.
“It’s a good name! It’s different. It’s unique,” Eddie was honestly trying to make a case for this option. He really just liked Black Sabbath.
“I don’t think so,” Y/n chuckled softly. She looked back down at the list. “John is a good one. But did you only pick that name because of John Lennon?” Y/n wondered.
“Uh, just look at the next one,” Eddie tried to avoid answering the question. He pointed to the notebook in her hands.
“Kirk,” Y/n read. “What? Like Kirk Hammett from Metallica?”
“I was hoping to get away with these,” Eddie let out a loud sigh of defeat and had a smile growing on his face.
“I know you too well,” Y/n shrugged her shoulders. She noticed something on the list. “You don’t have any girl names listed here,” Y/n acknowledged.
“I couldn’t think of any,” Eddie confessed.
“Watch us have a girl,” Y/n snorted.
“Would that be so bad?” Eddie asked with a hint of seriousness in his tone of voice. He looked at her with such sincerity in his eyes. “Is any of this so bad? Us having a baby?” Eddie added.
“At first, I think I was scared.” Y/n confessed. She thought about her next words carefully, knowing that Eddie was depending on them. “But things have gotten better. I feel...happy and I am excited to meet our little one soon,” Y/n said with a small smile on her face.
With that, Y/n placed her hand on top of her bulging stomach. She rubbed her hand over it a couple times in a reassuring and comforting manner. All of the sudden, Eddie placed his hand over hers. His thumb brushed against the back of her hand.
A broad smile grew at the corners of his lips. He leaned forward to press a single kiss to the center of her forehead. He wrapped his arm around her shoulder, holding her close to his side. He used his other hand to rub her stomach. He smiled at the thought of his baby being right there and eventually getting to meet him/her in short due time.
“Me too,” Eddie spoke softly.
Now, several months had passed along in the pregnancy. Everything seemed to be in order for the baby’s arrival. The doctors claimed that the baby was healthy, suggesting that he or she could arrive any day now. Despite everything, Eddie was more anxious and nervous for when the time would come. He spent most of his days fretting over his girlfriend, checking on her every couple of minutes to make sure she was okay.
One night, Y/n was tossing and turning in her sleep for many hours. She wasn’t able to get into a comfortable position and she was having minor contractions. She began to realize that they were growing a lot stronger and a lot closer together.
Carefully, she hoisted herself into a sitting position on the bed. She went to tap on Eddie’s arm in hopes of coaxing him awake. All of the sudden, Y/n felt another contraction coming. She hissed at the tight feeling, squeezing her eyes shut and clutching onto her stomach. She couldn’t take the pain any more.
“Eddie,” Y/n said breathlessly as the contraction began to subside. “Eddie, I need you to wake up.”
“What’s wrong?” Eddie asked sluggishly. He rolled over to face her, trying to burrow his face back into the pillow so he could get some sleep.
“I-I don’t know what’s happening,” Y/n confessed. She began to breathe heavily to herself. “I think the baby is coming,” Y/n replied.
Upon hearing this, Eddie’s eyes snapped open suddenly. He went straight into panic mode. He jumped out of their shared bed, hurrying around the room to find some spare clothes. He quickly grabbed his car keys off the side table.
In the background, Y/n had shifted to sit over the side of the bed. Her hands clutched at the bed sheets as another contraction struck her like a ton of bricks. She had never experienced pain like this before.
All of the sudden, Eddie knelt down in front of her. He was holding her favorite pair of shoes in his hands. He carefully slipped each shoe onto her foot before helping her stand to her feet. He walked her towards the front of the trailer with one hand secured behind her back. He closed the door behind him before heading straight towards his van. Then the two of them drove to the hospital.
After nearly eighteen hours of labor, the two young teenagers became parents to a beautiful baby girl. She was quite small, later weighing at only five pounds and some odd ounces. It also wasn’t surprising that she came out with a head full of hair, curtesy of her father.
The newborn baby had released a loud cry of protest. She was quickly cleaned by the doctor because she was covered in this white substance and a little blood. They wrapped her in a soft blanket before handing the baby to the new mother.
With some hesitation, Y/n took the bundled baby into her arms. She held her close to her chest, not really sure what else to do. She brought one of her hands up to hold the back of the baby’s head because she remembered that newborns can’t support their own head. She tried to soothe the baby by whispering soft hushes.
Naturally, with a mother’s touch, the baby seemed to quiet down in her arms. She quickly found that she had forgotten all the pains and aches she had to endure in order to birth her daughter. She was so caught up in the moment that nothing else seemed to matter anymore.
On the sidelines, Eddie was looking down at the little pink baby with a blank expression on his face. He honestly didn't know what to think or feel in that moment. He stood there frozen for a couple seconds until he felt a few small droplets of tears running down his face. He didn’t know how long he had been holding them in for.
Those were some of the most genuine tears he had ever cried before. He felt an overwhelming surge of utter joy and happiness. His heart began to swell in his chest and was threatening to burst at any second. His lips tugged into the biggest smile ever.
In a shy and timid manner, Eddie shuffled forward in his place until he was standing right beside the bed. He leaned down a little so he could get a closer look at the newborn.
The newborn baby’s head was burrowing into the crook of her mother’s neck. The warmth of her body must have felt so comforting to the baby. She had fallen asleep, breathing the occasional snuffles of sound.
Hesitantly, Eddie reached forward to stroke the top of the baby’s head and brushed some of her hair. Then his finger moved to touch the swell of her cheek. He watched the way the baby leaned into his touch. And he smiled down at her.
“She’s so soft,” Eddie commented. He proceeded to touch her little feet, which were poking out of the blanket now. He really couldn’t contain his smile. “So tiny,” Eddie added.
“She’s perfect,” Y/n said breathlessly since she was still trying to recover from just giving birth. She released a long sigh. She felt the sudden weight of sleep threatening to take hold of her at any moment.
“You should rest,” Eddie suggested. “I’ll take care of her.”
As if on cue, Eddie brought his hands forward to take his daughter into his grasp. He held one hand underneath her head and the other behind her back to support her. He handled her very cautiously and carefully at first because he was afraid she might break. She was just so little and light.
When Eddie lifted his head to look at his girlfriend, he found that she was already fast asleep. He quickly directed his attention back towards the sleeping infant in his arms. He bounced her gently in order to soothe her.
He slipped his finger into her grasp, watching the way her fingers curled around his single one. He didn’t realize how small she was. Most of his hand covered her backside and her head was still too small to fit in the palm of his other hand. He spent so much time admiring all her little details from the mess of hair on her head to her tiny fingernails. His favorite part was her little pink nose though.
As Eddie sat in one of the chairs in the hospital room, he cradled his newborn daughter close to his chest. He was staring down at her, simply watching how peacefully she slept. For a brief second, Eddie could have sworn that he had seen the baby smile up at him which only had him smile back. He had never seen anything more pure and precious than that. And he absolutely couldn’t wait until she did it again.
WHAT’S HER NAME GONNA BE???

Parties were never your favorite thing, the crowds were always rowdy and the smell of cheap beer and weed seemed to linger even after you left. But you never minded smaller parties- more so just a friends and family get together. Sure at times they could get loud, but it was never as intense as other parties.
In an odd way you compared it to a spider, the bigger a party gets the more uncomfortable you are, much like a spider. Small spiders are bearable, but as they get bigger? Nope.
So never did you think you would ever have a gender reveal party, you figured if you had kids you would always just find out the gender through an ultrasound, and that never seemed to be a problem for you. It had been Eddie’s idea to do a gender reveal party. He wanted your child to get to experience things he never got to- even if it had to start way before the baby was here yet.
You don’t blame him because you were the same way, you both grew up with hardships and not getting to have things other kids your age did. So you both vowed to give them as much as you can. You two were already obsessed with the baby, only being five months into your pregnancy.
The baby wasn’t fully planned, but that doesn’t mean you two weren’t welcoming the baby with open arms. Things happen for a reason, some good and some bad. But this seemed to be a good thing. Sure you both were rather young to be starting a family, but you two loved each other more than anything in this world, so you knew things would be okay.
Eddie searched for all the ways people reveal the gender, cutting into a cake with the inside being blue or pink, opening a box to reveal balloons, popping those powder poppers, but Eddie thought those were boring and overdone, and truthfully you agreed with him. Maybe it was because those were rather traditional reveals and you two were probably the least traditional in anything. And finally the idea came to him.
The two of you often shopped at thrift stores or garage sales for things, mostly going shopping there for clothes for either of you- wanting to save money to buy brand new things for the baby. Currently your normal clothes just didn’t fit right anymore, some of the oversized shirts you owned still fit, but anything else was just too tight on your stomach that was housing another human. The thrift store you two often went to the most was smackdab in town, a mixture of modern and vintage things mingled into one shop. It was pretty big for a locally owned thrift store, with a section for clothing, furniture, books and movies, and well, everything else you would find at a place like goodwill, but with much nicer things for lower prices.
You were both looking through the maternity clothes, your brows furrowed as you tried to find something you liked. Eddie stood next to you, his hand on your lower back and rubbing soft circles against the fabric of the shirt you wore- that was also one of his shirts. Your gaze wandered over each and every clothing item you looked at, asking Eddie his opinions on whatever you pointed out. He gave you his honest opinion, which was that you would look good in anything, everything and even better in nothing. To which you would either scoff, roll your eyes, feel flustered or all of the above.
After managing to find a good bit of things you liked, you two decided to head to the front to check out and pay. The owners of the store were an older couple, but today it was just the wife running the store. Her eyes lit up at the sight of the younger couple, she knew you both by name- always raved about how you were both her favorite customers.
“Hey you two!” Her voice was cheery, a bit worn from years of smoking and just being as she was older, a southern drawl laced through some of the words she spoke.
“Hi Mrs. Mabel,” Eddie replied with a smile, placing your clothes on the counter. The elder lady simply rolled her eyes at Eddie, smacking his arm softly, “I told you to stop adding ‘Mrs’ to the beginning of my name, makes me feel old and I already feel one foot in the grave.” Mabel scowled at the boy, which only caused you to laugh and lean against Eddie ever so.
Mabel started to ring up the clothes that were priced amazingly low, smiling at the two love birds in front of her. “How have you been feeling, Mom?” She questions, eyes landing on you and letting her gaze shift to your swollen stomach. You simply let out a soft groan at her question, leaning more against Eddie as the woman lets out a snort of a laugh. “I get it honey,” She replies with a soft smile.
The rest of the transaction goes fast, her quickly ringing the clothes up and bagging them. Before you two leave though she turns to Eddie. “This is a bit random, but someone dropped off this guitar and it's rather banged up so we aren’t going to sell it. Do you want it?” She questions as she brings up an older looking, wooden acoustic guitar. There was a large water stain on it and it looked like someone went to town on it with markers and crayons. There were scratches on it and one of the strings was snapped.
As Eddie looks at the guitar, you could almost see the lightbulb going off above his head, a wide smile pulling at the corners of his lips. “You sure?” He asks, in which she simply nods, “You would be doing me a favor.” She says handing over the guitar. He grabs the neck of the guitar, “Thank you.”
Once you two were seated in your car, Eddie seated in the drivers seat and you in the passenger, but before driving away he turns to you with a big smile. “I figured it out.” He says, a sense of pride evident in his voice. You arched a brow at him, leaning back against the seat and after moving the vents to blow air directly at you. Your head is turned to him, staring at him. The car is silent, which is much different from when you first get in his van and he puts the keys in, music usually will blast out- but he doesn’t play the music super loud in your car. It's always turned down to a respectable level.
You two blink at one another for a moment before you finally speak, “Are you gonna tell me what you figured out or do I have to guess?” You ask with a cock of your head, Eddie blinks and lets out a small laugh, “Sorry, got distracted looking at you.” Somehow his smile manages to widen as he speaks. You roll your eyes to try and hide how flustered his words made you, feeling heat rise in your chest. “Stop it,” You manage to get out, words breathy.
“No sweetheart, I’m not gonna make you guess. I figured out how we are gonna do the gender reveal.” Eddie’s words are sickeningly sweet, leaning over the console to press a kiss to your lips before he is seated normal and driving the two of you back home.

Though you never enjoyed parties, you couldn’t help but be excited for this one. Nancy had helped you and Eddie plan the whole thing, letting you two come up with the ideas and came up with a few herself, and then she would help get the things needed. Since you and Eddie were far from traditional, you two planned it all differently than a normal gender reveal. The dress code was simple, if they thought you were having a girl you wore red, and if they thought you were having a boy you wore black.
The party was being hosted at yours and Eddie’s home. Though the dress code was black and red, you two kept the other stuff the traditional blue and pink, only for the fact that it's rather hard to find baby items for parties in black and red.
Nancy had come over at around 10:30 in the morning to help finish setting everything up. She came wearing an outfit that didn’t correspond with either red or black because she was the one who knew if it was a boy or a girl. Nancy was given the gender in an envelope, the ultrasound technician writing the gender of the baby down and sealing it up for you to give to whomever. So she was tasked with knowing.
Though the set up was simple, it screamed you and Eddie. Pink and blue guitar picks decorating the table, balloons shaped like music notes, lots of sweet treats and salty foods, you had gotten a cute journal and put it on the table for everyone to either sign their names or just write something sweet for the baby to read when they got older, and then a sign on the wall that said;
“Battle of the bands! Cast your vote, BLACK Sabbath vs RED Hot Chilli Peppers!”
The black was colored blue and the red was pink, and to cast your vote all you had to do was write your name on a little music note sticker and stick it under the respected side of the ‘band’ you were voting for. There were some other little things here and there, but the thing everyone was here for was of course, the reveal.
Eddie had thought long and hard about how to go about it, but the day Mabel gave him the old guitar that was honestly needing to be trashed, he knew what he had to do. Eddie explained to Nancy to get that colored powder that they use in the gender reveal videos, stick a bunch of it in the soundhole in the body of the guitar and then seal it up so none of the color seeps out.
And then it would be simple, the guitar would be smashed and the color would fly out.
Eddie had given you the opportunity to smash the guitar, but you told him you thought it would be better if he did, and after a bit of back and forthing he finally agreed to be the one to smash it.
The party was in full swing, it was full of your closest friends, the people who you thought of as your family. You weren’t close with your biological family, never really were. You were always the outcast, the black sheep so to say, of the family. And truthfully you can’t remember the last time they tried to contact you, so you never contacted them. So they weren’t invited to the party.
The only person Eddie was truly in contact with in his family was his uncle Wayne, who was Eddie’s saving grace. So he was the only blood family there.
Then of course there was the rest of corroded coffin, plus the other close members of the hellfire club. And then the other members of the close, tight knit family you created.
Eddie was glued to your hip for most of the pregnancy, and today wasn’t any different- and to some others it would be annoying, but truthfully you didn’t mind it. Maybe you two were in the honeymoon phase, but it had been like this since you two started dating when you were both sixteen. But you were both now freshly twenty three, so perhaps this was just gonna be how you two would always be.
A gentle hand was rubbing up and down your back, your lover letting you lean into him as you stood talking with Wayne.
Wayne Munson was a wonderful man, a hardheaded gentleman with a heart of gold. He never doubted that either of you could take care of a child- though you knew he kinda hoped you two would’ve waited a little later in life. But, he was happy for you both and excited to be a grandfather, though he joked and said he was too young to be one.
“Now you tell me if this boy isn’t helping you, alright?” Wayne spoke, a southern twang laced in his words as his hand reaches out and grabs a hold of Eddie’s shoulder, giving him a small shake. His words caused you to laugh and Eddie to groan, “Wayne-”
“He is very helpful, wont let me do anything myself.” You said with a bright smile, enjoying seeing Eddie embarrassed. But before the conversation could continue, Nancy was wandering over to the three of you, a soft smile on her face as she reaches a hand and places it against your arm. “You guys ready?” Nancy had told you guys to stay inside while she set the rest of the stuff outside, planning to do the reveal in the driveway.
“You ready to smash a guitar?” You said as you turned to Eddie, you weren’t surprised to see him already looking at you, he pouts softly. “It's gonna feel like I'm committing a sin, but yes.”
In truth he was scared as hell, not for the fact of smashing a guitar, but knowing the gender. It’s not that he wants one more than the other, it was more so the fact that the moment he knows what it will be will be making it that much more real. He was excited to be a father, but he still had that lingering fear of fucking up the kids life. He didn’t want to turn out like his dad, and it feels like everyday that passes the memories he had with his mother become more hazy.
He had Wayne and he was the father figure he needed, but he still had that anxiety that no matter what, that it would happen. No matter how many times you reassure him he can’t help but wonder, what if it's just in his genetics? What if sometime down the line something in him switches and he becomes a carbon copy of his father?
But everytime you look at him with that smile, each time he feels a kick, looking at the sonogram, that fear seems to slowly start to fade.
Moments later the gaggle of your found family is crowded in the driveway, Eddie holding the guitar carefully as his gaze finds yours. Jonathan was in charge of recording it all, which he had no problem in doing so, Nancy was stood by a radio, shoving a cassette tape in and soon Sweet Child O’ Mine by Guns n’ Roses was playing through. The song causes Eddie to laugh, his grip on the guitar tightening as he holds it safe and nearly doubles over in laughter, which in turn causes you to laugh at his enjoyment.
Neither of you were expecting the song choice, but boy was it welcomed.
Once again Eddie was looking towards you, “Ready?” He yelled out to you over the song, placing the guitar over his shoulder and gripping the neck tight. Your left hand went and rested against your stomach, nodding with a bright smile. “C’mon! I wanna know what I’m growing!” You soon exclaimed back, you knew no matter what gender you were having you would be happy, and you knew you sounded like most every parent out there when you said all you wanted was for the baby to be healthy, but it was true. That was all that mattered to you, that the baby was happy and healthy.
With a playful eyeroll Eddie was then rearing back the guitar before smashing it against the concrete. And with the single smash the neck of the guitar snapped off, causing pink powder to puff out of the body of the guitar and settle against the ground.
Eddie is then letting go of the broken neck, jumping for joy as he hollers excitedly. You, of course, were an emotional mess. The moment the color appeared the tears pooled in your eyes and slipped down your cheeks. Everyone around you was screaming and cheering, but they got tuned out the moment the gender was revealed.
It didn’t take a second longer before Eddie was sprinting towards you and taking you into his arms. A second later he was pulling away, resting his hands against your cheeks. “We are gonna have a baby girl!” You sobbed out, hands grasping the sides of his shirt. His only reply was an excited laugh, pressing his lips to yours- but it was difficult to kiss as you two smiled so intensely.
The kiss was interrupted as a pop! Sound was heard, which turned out to be Gareth and Dustin popping streamers over you and Eddie. The male pulled you into a hug once again, pressing kisses to your forehead as your friends swarmed over.
“I told you guys it was gonna be a girl.” You heard Max say to Dustin and Lucas, her arms crossed over her chest as she smirked at them. “I should’ve bet money on it.” She added, which made Dustin roll his eyes and Lucas to shrug his shoulders.
Tumblr media
The rest of the party seemed to settle after that, the younger hellfire members helping clean off the driveway- which was just hosing down the driveway. Everyone chatted for a bit before starting to leave, not before giving the two of you a hug and words of congratulation. Nancy, Jonathan and Wayne had stayed back to help clean, there wasn’t much to clean and you know it wouldn’t take long for you and Eddie to do it, but they took the chores upon themselves.
Each and every single time you tried to help you were just shooed away, which in a way you were okay with- you had been on your feet for quite some time today and you were really feeling it now.
Wayne ended up staying the longest, helping Eddie make the three of you a nice dinner before he decided it was time for him to head back home, leaving with a kiss to your forehead and a soft smile. Eddie had walked Wayne out to his truck, which you knew that they would be outside talking for a good while. So while they were outside you had gotten yourself ready for bed, laying under the downy soft comforter with a book.
Eddie had wandered back inside almost half an hour after he walked his uncle out, a tired glaze in his eyes and his features relaxed. He locked up the house before stepping into your shared bedroom, quickly changing into a pair of pajamas- which consisted of an old pair of sleep pants and a shirt he cut the arms off. Once he had gotten under the covers he was propping himself up on his side, gently taking your book from your hands and putting the bookmark in.
He placed the book on the side table before settling back where he just was, his free hand nudging up your cotton sleep shirt and resting upon your bump. You two just laid there and stared at one another for a moment or so, his thumb rubbing against your skin.
You could feel tears prick at the corners of your eyes, letting yourself curl into Eddie. “Oh honey,” He cooed softly, laying back flat on the bed and taking you with him. Your arms wrap around his torso as you rest your head against his chest- not fully laying on him, more so half on him. “What's wrong?” He asked quietly, “I don’t mean to cry,” You start with a sniffle, “I’m just, really happy.” Your words were sincere, giving Eddie a squeeze as you spoke. With a small laugh he is pressing a kiss to the top of your head.
“Me too, a baby girl. In just four more months we will have a daughter.” Eddie spoke with awe in his voice, his hand starting to rub your back while the other one takes a hold of your hand and rests it against his chest. Your tears had subsided, more so just watering up but they never fell. You find yourself relaxing as you listen to the thud, thud, thud, of your lovers heartbeat. Feeling any tense muscles in your body ease up as your eyes slip shut.
“We are gonna have to come up with a name, and we still need to paint the nursery- how is it that nine months feels so long but, fuck, its going by so fast.” Your words were slightly slurred as you felt the tug of sleep pulling at you, “I still think that Ozzy is a kickass name.” Eddie said after a few moments of silence, causing a laugh to bubble up, moving your hand from his hold and reaching over and gently pinching his nipple.
“Hey! Stop- what if I gotta breast feed?” Eddie nearly squeals, using his now free hand to cover his nipple. “You grabbing my nipples is how you got pregnant.” He grumbles, “If I remember correctly it was the other way around.” You retorted back, “Also, if you somehow magically start producing milk, I am taking you to a doctor.” Was the last thing you managed to say before sleep finally took hold of you.

Eddie trims up pregnant!reader's bush when r can't reach. He shaves symbols on the front, an E, a heart, a lightning bolt, a bat that looks more like those lines people use to draw birds (wasn't his best art). At one point he starts running out of designs as the weeks go on and shaves a dick n balls on R's bush like a middle school boy doodling, and r finds it funny for the first second but then they're hit with pregnant rage of "get that off me, I will not let the first thing my baby sees to be a fuckin penis" and Eddie has to sadly shave her bald, albeit with much fake crying

A/n: I really hope that you guys like this part. I tried my best to make it the best quality, but I'm not sure if it's declined a bit since I'm back at college. Let me know what you guys think !
A/n: This also jumps around all over the place.. I'm so sorry, my brain is scrambled eggs.
I think I'll write little parts about whatever you guys want to see happen within the story.
What I have planned:
Hellfire meeting Mallory
Eddie Munson taking care of Mallory when Y/n isn't home
Dustin as an uncle
Wayne and Claudia as grandparents
If you guys want to read about something with this little trio, send me a DM and I'll have it written up!
Masterlist
Y/n and Mallory were discharged from the hospital after two days. Eddie had been going back and forth from the trailer, to the hospital, to Y/n’s house, then back to the hospital in order to get things ready for the baby. Y/n and Eddie had talked about it a little bit before, but they never really got to a solid plan for the living situation. Claudia argued that the best place for Y/n and Mallory was with her at her house, but Wayne thought that it’d be easier if she and the baby lived in the trailer because then Eddie wouldn’t have to go back and forth between houses to see his baby.
“I just think that our home is better for the baby.” Claudia said to Wayne as they sat in the waiting room of the hospital, waiting for Y/n and Eddie to gather all of their things from the room.
“I understand where you’re coming from.” Wayne nodded. “But at the trailer, both Eddie and Y/n can take care of Mal.”
“No offense to you, Wayne,” Claudia began. “But I do not want my granddaughter living in a trailer park.”
“You think the trailer park is dirty or something?” Wayne squinted his eyes. “Look, it’s not the best place, but I don’t want Mallory to grow up with her parents going back and forth.”
“Wayne,” Claudia sighed, shaking her head.
“And you don’t want Eddie living at your place, so I don’t see why it’s a big deal if the two just stayed at mine.” Wayne continued. “I’ll gladly take Y/n in.”
“It’s not about taking Eddie in, Wayne.” Claudia sternly said. “They’re not married. They shouldn’t be living together.”
“That’s ridiculous.” Wayne scoffed, placing his hands on his knees. “They just had a baby for Christ’s sake.”
“That does not give them permission to behave like a married couple.” Claudia said, exasperated.
“Claudia,” Wayne leaned forward slightly. “They have a baby together. It doesn’t matter if they’re married or not, that baby needs to be taken care of!”
“And she will be.” Claudia nodded. “At my house.”
Claudia and Wayne never told Y/n about this little spat that they had. However, Eddie knew all about it via Wayne complaining about it. No, Wayne didn’t hate Claudia… Wayne didn’t really hate anyone. He was just annoyed that he wasn't able to see his "granddaughter" as much as Claudia was allowed to. He was also annoyed with the fact that Eddie would have to constantly go back and forth everyday just to see his daughter.
"Do we have everything?" Eddie asked Y/n, who sat in a wheelchair cradling Mallory in her arms.
“Looks like it.” She nodded. “We didn’t really bring much stuff.”
“That’s true.” He agreed, still glancing around the room for any objects of theirs that they may have left behind. “Well, then I’m ready if you two are.”
“We’re ready.” Y/n smiled, accepting the kiss that Eddie pressed to her lips. He stood up and grabbed the handles of Y/n’s wheelchair, pushing her out of the room. They wheeled down the maternity ward hall, waving at the nurses and doctors as they bid them goodbye. Y/n smiled down at Mallory’s sleeping face. Even though she was only two days old, she had a full head of hair. The day before, Wayne had told Y/n that Eddie also had a full head of hair when he was first born as well. He promised her that he’d pull out Eddie’s baby books to show her just how much hair Eddie had when he was born. Mallory was absolutely perfect. Sure, every new parent thinks that their baby is perfect, but everyone that saw Mallory instantly fell in love with the small brown-eyed, curly-haired girl. Although Y/n couldn’t stop looking at Mallory, she was absolutely exhausted and couldn’t wait to be home and shower.
“Wayne!” Eddie smiled upon seeing his uncle in the waiting room. Both Claudia and Wayne stood up and smiled at the new parents.
“Hey, Eddie.” Wayne smiled, giving him a hug. “Ready to go home?”
“Yeah.” He nodded. “I told Mal all about the trailer.”
“Oh, everything’s already set up at our home.” Claudia said, making Eddie nod.
“Really?” He asked in surprise. “Thanks, Mrs. Henderson!”
“We’re just here to see if you need any help with your things.” Claudia smiled.
“We’re all good here.” Y/n told her mother. “We just need a ride.”
“I brought my car.” Wayne said. “The car seat is already set up.”
“Perfect.” Y/n sighed. “Thank you, Wayne.”
The car ride to Y/n’s house was pretty much silent. Y/n had sat in the middle of the back seat in between Mallory’s car seat and Eddie. But the second Mallory was asleep, Y/n fell asleep as well, her head leaning on Eddie’s shoulder.
“You three make a beautiful family.” Wayne complimented, looking in the rearview mirror.
“I was thinking the same thing.” Eddie smiled, his arm wrapped around Y/n, hand resting on Mal’s car seat. “I was also thinking about getting a job. A real one.”
“Oh yeah?”
“Yeah.” Eddie nodded. “I don’t want to burden you guys with a screaming baby at night. And I think it’d be easier if we were all under the same roof.”
“I think so too.” Wayne agreed. “Listen, if you need help, I’ll always be there. Hell, I will get you two an apartment if it means Mallory will be well taken care of.”
“You mean that?” Eddie asked, eyebrows scrunching.
“Of course.” Wayne said sincerely. “I don’t want you two living from paycheck to paycheck.”
“I’d actually really appreciate that, Wayne.” Eddie answered. “We all would.”
“Consider it done, then.” Wayne smiled. “I know a good place for you three.”
“Okay, Mally girl,” Y/n cooed, placing the baby on a towel that had been laid out on her bed. “I’m gonna change you now.”
“Can I do it?” She heard Eddie say from the doorway of her room. Y/n smiled and nodded.
“Sure.” She moved over to allow Eddie to stand in front of his daughter. “It’s number two, though.”
“I don’t care.” He shrugged, rolling up his sleeves. “I’m a dad now, gotta get used to getting down and dirty.”
“Well, then,” Y/n smirked, patting him on the back as she passed by. “I’ll leave you to it.”
“How bad can it even be?” Eddie asked his daughter, who stared up at him.
“Y/n!” Eddie shouted from the bedroom. “Oh, god, Y/n, she’s peeing everywhere!”
“You gotta do it fast, Eds.” Y/n stood by the doorway, watching as Eddie scrambled to find a clean diaper. “The air is cold to her.”
“Oh god, oh god,” Eddie grabbed a fresh diaper and quickly wiped away at Mallory’s bottom. “Okay, okay, I think I got it.”
“Don’t forget to stick the tabs on the sides.” Y/n pointed out, an amused smile on her face. Eddie did as he was told and fastened the tabs on the side of the diaper. He clapped his hands and pointed at Mallory.
“Did I do it?” He asked hopefully. Y/n walked over to the bed and looked at the baby.
“Actually, yeah.” She nodded, impressed. “You did pretty good.”
“Crushing it.” He sang, making Y/n giggle.
“C’mon, let’s put her to bed.” She said. He nodded, gently scooping Mallory up and walking her to her crib at the end of Y/n’s bed. The two young parents stood watching their newborn daughter sleep. Eddie wrapped his arms around Y/n’s waist from behind her, resting his chin on her shoulder.
“I love you.” He whispered in her ear, making her smile.
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.”
It was about four in the morning when Mallory woke up crying again. Y/n groaned and sat up in bed, cradling her slowly-shrinking stomach. She sat on the bed for a few more seconds, trying to get up without hurting herself. She hadn’t gone to bed until two in the morning because she was afraid that Mallory wouldn’t be okay. Eddie sat with her the whole time, but was soon told by Claudia that he should’ve been home already.
“Babe,” Eddie, wrapped his arm around Y/n’s shoulder as she sat on her bed, watching her daughter sleep in her cradle. “You need to go to bed.”
“I can’t.” She shook her head. “What if she needs me and I don’t hear her?”
“You need sleep, Y/n.” He said. “You have people here that can help you if you don’t hear her.”
“But what if she stops breathing?” Y/n said, voice shaky. “If she stops breathing, then I won’t hear her if I’m asleep.”
“There is a very low chance of that happening, babe.” Eddie rubbed her back. “She’s the healthiest baby, the doctor even said so.”
“I know, but-”
“Y/n,” Claudia poked her head into the room to see her daughter being comforted by Eddie. “It’s time for Eddie to go home.”
“What?” Y/n panicked. “You mean he’s not staying?”
“I’ll be back tomorrow morning.” Eddie assured her. “Six AM sharp.”
“Do you promise?”
“I promise, sweetheart.” Eddie leaned his head down a bit and gave her a few kisses. “I would never leave you and Mal forever, babe. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“Okay.” Y/n nodded. Eddie stood from the bed, walking out of the room. As he passed through the threshold of her bedroom, her turned around and pointed at Y/n.
“Go to sleep!”
“Yes, dad.” Y/n rolled her eyes playfully. Eddie shook his head, laughing. Claudia walked Eddie to the front door and bid him goodbye. As Eddie stepped outside, he turned to Claudia.
“Hey, can you keep an eye on Y/n?” Eddie whispered to Claudia. “I’m afraid she won’t try to sleep tonight.”
“What? Why?” Claudia’s eyes widened in worry. She glanced behind her and stepped outside, shutting the front door behind her. “Is something wrong?”
“She’s afraid that something will happen to Mallory.” Eddie frowned. “That she’ll stop breathing and she won’t be able to help her.”
“Oh, my poor girl.” Claudia sighed, sadness filling her eyes.
“Just, you know,” Eddie sighed, trying to find the right words. “Make sure she’s okay at night, when I’m not here. Both of them.”
“Of course, Eddie.” Claudia nodded. “Thank you for being a good man to my daughter.”
“I know, Mal.” Y/n said, slowly rising from the bed, walking towards Mallory’s crib once she got up from the bed. “Mama’s here, honey.” She reached down and scooped up her daughter. Y/n shuffled to the kitchen, cradling Mallory to her chest. Y/n laid Mallory down in her carrier that she had set on top of the dining room table, keeping her in Y/n’s line of sight as she made her a bottle. Mallory had stopped crying once Y/n gave her a pacifier for the time being, so Mallory didn’t wake the whole house.
“Okay, my baby,” Y/n cooed, shaking the freshly made bottle. “Mama’s got your food.” Y/n moved her carrier and sat her on the chair next to her to feed her baby. She gently pulled the pacifier out of Mallory’s mouth and replaced it with the nipple of the bottle. Y/n sat at the table, her daughter eagerly nursing the warm milk from the bottle.
“Y/n?” A voice whispered. Y/n looked up from her daughter and saw Dustin tiptoeing to sit across from her.
“Hey, Dusty.” She greeted. “What are you doing up?”
“I uh, heard Mal cry.” Dustin admitted, making Y/n blush.
“I’m sorry.” She apologized. “She got hungry.”
“It’s okay.” Dustin said. “I just wanted to see if everything was okay.”
“Yeah, she’s fine.”
“Are you?” He asked, making Y/n frown.
“What do you mean?”
“Mallory isn’t the only one I’ve heard crying.” Dustin admitted, making Y/n sigh.
“I’m still pretty emotional, Dustin.”
“Sure,” He nodded. “But you’ve never cried like that before.”
“Dustin, I’m fine.” Y/n squinted her eyes at him. “I’m alright, don’t worry.”
“You have a lot of people to help you, Y/n.” Dustin said, making Y/n sigh.
“I know.” She smiled at her little brother. “Thank you.” Y/n looked back at Mallory and saw that she was done with her bottle. She set the empty bottle on the table and took Mallory into her arms and began to gently pat her back.
“Can I try?” Dustin asked timidly. Y/n looked at him and smiled.
“Yeah, sure.” She nodded. Dustin stood up and walked to the chair that had Mallory’s carrier on it. He moved the carrier to the floor and took a seat. Y/n showed Dustin how to hold Mallory and told him to pat her back until she burps.
“Just let me get a rag in case she spits up.” Y/n said, walking to the kitchen and grabbing a hand towel. She draped the towel over Dustin’s shoulder and chest and sat back down in her seat. She rested her head in her hand and watched with a fond smile as her brother burped his niece. The adorable moment soon ended when there was a loud click and a flash. Y/n and Dustin looked at the source to see Claudia standing there with the camera pointed at them.
“You three were just so cute.” Claudia gushed. “I couldn’t help myself.”
“Gosh, ma.” Y/n giggled.
Over the next few weeks, Y/n and Eddie had fallen into a routine with Mallory. Eddie would come over at six in the morning and bring Y/n and Mallory over to the trailer, where they would stay until ten at night. Eddie would drop Mallory and Y/n back off at the Henderson residence and leave until the next morning. To say that this living arrangement was annoying for both Y/n and Eddie would be an understatement. Y/n hated that Eddie only got to see Mallory for nearly half a day. She expressed her feelings to Eddie, who wholeheartedly agreed with her, which made her feel better. That’s when Eddie told Y/n about the apartment that Wayne was going to help them out with. Y/n was hesitant at first, since she didn’t want Wayne to “throw away” his money for them. But Wayne insisted. But now comes the hard part… telling Claudia.
“What do you mean an apartment?” Claudia asked, sitting at the dining room table. Claudia had made dinner for everyone and told Y/n that she could invite Eddie, since he was now technically family. That’s when they decided to bring up the apartment.
“I’m not sure how else you want me to explain it, ma.” Y/n laughed uncomfortably.
“How many bedrooms are there?” She asked. Y/n looked at Eddie, gesturing for him to answer.
“Two.” He said, tapping his rings against the table lightly.
“Two?” Claudia repeated, eyes squinting.
“Yep.” Eddie nodded.
“So Mallory would be sharing a room with one of you?” She asked, looking back and forth between Y/n and Eddie, who shifted nervously.
“Actually,” He cleared his throat. “Mal would be getting her own room.”
“Then where would Y/n be?”
“Ma,” Y/n groaned. “Don’t play dumb. Eddie and I would be sharing a room.”
“Y/n,” Claudia sighed in frustration. “You two aren’t married yet. There is no reason to be sharing a bedroom.”
“Yeah, well, he kinda already knocked me up.” Y/n shrugged. “There’s no point in trying to keep things traditional.”
“Y/n!” Claudia gasped. “Don’t use that type of language.”
“Well, you’re kinda pissing me off, ma.” Y/n scoffed, tossing her fork onto her plate.
“Y/n, sweetheart,” Eddie placed a hand on her shoulder. “It’s okay.”
“No, it’s not okay, Eddie.” Y/n shook her head. “I’m so tired of it. I know that I'm practically still a child, but I have one. One that I need to properly care for and I can't do that here!"
“You don’t think I care for you enough?” Claudia asked, sadly, making Y/n sigh.
“That’s not what I meant.” She shook her head. “I just think that the situation we’re in isn’t a proper way to raise a newborn.”
“What situation?” Claudia asked, glancing around at Eddie and Dustin. “You do fine here.”
“Mallory needs Eddie. I need Eddie.” Y/n looked at Eddie and grabbed his awaiting hand. “So, we’re going to be living at the apartment together, ma.” Claudia shook her head and sighed.
“If that’s what you truly think is best for Mallory, then okay.” Claudia set her eating utensils down on her plate and got up from the table. “Excuse me.” She grabbed her plate and walked out of the room, leaving Y/n, Eddie, and Dustin sitting around the table.
“She hates me now.” Y/n gave a watery laugh as she folded her clothes and put them into a suitcase.
“She doesn’t hate you, babe.” Eddie said, holding Mallory in his arms as he fed her a bottle. “She just… doesn’t want to lose you.”
“She’s not losing me, though.” Y/n shook her head in frustration. “It’s not like I’m moving to Venus or something.”
“Well,” Eddie shrugged. “What if it was Mal?” Y/n stopped in her tracks. She tossed her half-folded shirt down on the bed and looked at Eddie.
“Excuse me?”
“If Mal was in our situation,” Eddie explained. “How would you react?” Y/n scoffed and shook her head.
“Mal won’t ever be in our situation, Eddie.” She said, picking her shirt back up. “I’ll make sure of it.” There was a pause of silence, one that made both parents uncomfortable, more so Eddie since Y/n was busy with packing up.
“Do you hate what’s going on?” He asked, quietly. “Do you… regret-”
“I don’t regret anything, Eddie.” Y/n was quick to say. “I just… wish things were easier.”
“Well, Wayne always tells me that whatever bothers you now won’t matter in ten years.” Y/n smiled at that.
“You’re very gentle, Eds.” She smiled softly at him. “I’m grateful for you and Wayne, really.”
“Just us?” Eddie asked, shifting Mallory so that he could burp her.
“I’m grateful for everyone that has helped us.” Y/n elaborated. “Now leave me alone, I’m packing!” She smirked playfully at him, making him roll his eyes with a fond smile on his face.
It took two days for Y/n to get all of her things packed up and moved into the apartment. Y/n thought that the apartment was pretty nice for something that Wayne described as a “starter” home. The kitchen, bathroom, and Eddie and Y/n’s room is pretty small, but they weren't complaining. They at least had a home that they could raise their daughter in for the time being. Y/n and Eddie had given the bigger bedroom to Mallory, since it seemed like she had more things than the two of them, especially furniture wise. The first night in the apartment was a little bit harder than it was at Y/n’s moms, as it seemed that Mallory knew she was in a different place than what she’s used to. But Y/n was grateful that Eddie was there now to wake up and care for their daughter in the night, rather than it just being Y/n caring for her at night.
“Wow,” Eddie sighed, climbing into the bed. “Our first night in our very own apartment.”
“I know.” Y/n smiled, laying her book on her lap. “It’s exciting!”
“Very.” He nodded, scooting closer to her and wrapping an arm around her shoulders. Y/n giggled and smiled, resuming her book. Eddie read each page from over her shoulder for about two minutes before he was brushing away her hair that covered her neck. He placed a few kisses to her neck, making her giggle.
“Eddie, stop,” She laughed. “I’m trying to read.”
“Read later.” He mumbled, still kissing her neck. “Let me love on you.”
“Eddie-” She sighed, tilting her head to the side to give him more access to her neck. He blindly reached over and took the book out of her hand, tossing it on the floor. Y/n leaned back against the wall and allowed Eddie to move over more. He kissed up Y/n’s neck and finally made it to her lips. Y/n sighed in bliss and cradled Eddie’s face in her hands.
“I missed having you like this.” Eddie whispered when he pulled away for a short moment.
“Me too.” Y/n moaned when Eddie’s hand massaged one of her breasts. “God, please, Eddie,”
“Please what, mama?” He groaned in her ear.
“Use your mouth on me, please.” She whined, pushing her chest closer to Eddie, eyes clouded with bliss.
“Yes, ma’am.” Eddie smiled, pulling her shirt off and latching his lips to one of her nipples, his hand playing with the other one. Y/n moaned and whimpered as Eddie sucked on her. Her fingers threaded themselves into Eddie’s hair, holding him closer to her chest.
“Oh god,” Y/n groaned. “That feels so good.” Eddie pulled away from her chest and leaned back to admire her.
“You’re so beautiful, sweetheart.” Eddie gulped, eyes roaming over her topless figure. “You wanna do it tonight?”
“Yeah.” She nodded with a smile. Eddie cheered and quickly took off his shirt, going back in to kiss Y/n, when a cry was heard from the other room. Eddie sighed and rested his forehead on Y/n’s.
“You think Wayne will babysit?” Eddie asked, making Y/n laugh. She shook her head and gently pushed him away from her. She grabbed her shirt and put it back on. Standing from the bed, she held out her hand for Eddie to take.
“C’mon, Munson,” She smirked. “Time to go be parents.”

𝚟𝚒𝚛𝚐𝚒𝚗 𝚖𝚊𝚛𝚢
𝚗𝚘𝚝𝚎𝚜 this is gonna be slowwwww burn. and it’s the first thing i’ve written in a long time so go easy on me
𝚠𝚊𝚛𝚗𝚒𝚗𝚐𝚜 pregnant reader, reader is really struggling like fr, eventual smut just not in this chapter
𝚜𝚞𝚖𝚖𝚊𝚛𝚢 eddie moves to another dingy little town in south carolina and works at a dingy little grocery store where he meets you! a pregnant twenty something year old.
𝚌𝚑𝚊𝚙𝚝𝚎𝚛 𝚘𝚗𝚎
The air inside of the Piggly Wiggly was stale, and the squeaking wheel of your shopping cart was giving you a migraine. But you needed the cart, you had to have something to lean on so your nausea didn’t completely take over.
You could hear fruit flies buzzing over the produce as you picked through the pile of oranges. You counted your losses, leaving the produce section with no success. Passing by the onions and garlic, you nearly gagged, holding your breath as you pushed your rickety-wheeled cart towards the dairy.
Clutching the underside of your rounded stomach, you stretched your arm up to grab the last half gallon of chocolate milk. You strained trying to reach it. It wasn’t that you were particularly short, or that the shelves were particularly tall, everything was just difficult ever since you passed fourteen weeks. Precariously you leaned forward on your tiptoes, finally grabbing the plastic handle.
You dropped it in your cart, taking a long moment to catch your breath and readjust your dress. Next you needed—god what did you need? The brain fog was growing frustrating. You shoved your hand into your purse, fishing around for the list you scribbled onto the back of a receipt. And sure, it was just a little thing, forgetting what else you needed to get, but that’s just the thing. The little things just kept on piling up, and the pile grew bigger and bigger until all you could do was cry. Cry in the middle of the grocery store.
You sniffled, willing your tears to go away as you kept pushing the cart. But then your shoelace got caught in the shaky wheel, nearly pulling you to the ground.
A pair of warm hands were on your shoulders, making sure you stayed vertical.
“Woah, woah. You alright?”
You nodded your head and wiped your eyes, dismissing him without a glance because you were too embarrassed to look him in the eye.
“No, really.” He stopped you from moving. “Are you alright?”
“Yeah, just my shoelace, that’s all.” You tried to appease him enough so he would leave you alone, go about his day and remember you as the helpless, crying pregnant lady he saw at work today.
It was pointless though, because then you were trying to bend down to tie your dirty shoelace and you couldn’t reach it. Your belly wasn’t even that big, your entire body was just so sore, you couldn’t possibly bend down all the way to tie it properly.
So, the stock boy, as it seemed, was kneeling in front of you and patting his thigh.
“C’mon, let me help.” He smiled up at you, not caring about how dirty his pants were probably getting from the visibly gross tile.
You were flustered to say the least, and it wasn’t like you could do it yourself. Shakily, you lifted your foot to rest on his thigh, grabbing onto the cart for some stability. Looking down, you saw his cheap, plastic name tag. Edward.
“Bunny ear, bunny ear, jumped through the hole, popped out the other side, beautiful and bold.” He murmured while he tied your shoe, and it made you giggle.
He was seemingly pleased with your laugh, smiling as he stood back up.
“My uncle taught me that when I was a kid.” His eyes drifted to your stomach as he said that.
All you could manage to do was stare back at him with glossy eyes. You were scared if you opened your mouth to talk, your voice would crack and you would just blubber at him in the middle of the aisle. He noticed that, too.
So he distracted you, snatching the crumpled receipt paper from your hand, smoothing it out and scanning over it.
“Alright, looks like the next stop is frozen foods.”
He started making his way to the end of the aisle, turning back when he didn’t hear you following.
“You coming? This frozen pizza isn’t gonna get itself!”
As strange as the interaction was, you found yourself trailing after him.
He led you around the store, asking which brand of thing you wanted before placing it in your cart, repeating that until the end of the list. All the while he was talking your ear off about anything and everything.
He even guided you towards the checkout, unloading everything onto the belt for you, gently swatting your hand away when you tried to lean over and help.
And god forbid he let you load your own groceries into your car, didn’t you know “pregnant ladies shouldn’t do any heavy lifting?” Even though you hardly considered a half-gallon of milk heavy lifting.
He slammed your trunk closed, dusting his hands off on his apron.
“Well, Edward. Thank you for your help.”
He smiled sadly when you said his name. “It’s just Eddie.” He regained his normal cadence after a beat. “But, you’re welcome. It sure beat stocking shelves.”
You were unsure how to leave it. Did you give him your number? Did you smile politely and never return to the store ever again? You couldn’t do that, the prices were too good.
“Well, um,” you smiled awkwardly, sliding into your front seat. “See you around.” It was more of a question than a declaration.
But he smiled reassuringly, giving you a yes, you’ll see me around nod.

And then there were three.
Eddie munson x pregnant!reader
Summary: you and Eddie find out you're pregnant.
Warnings: fluff, talks of pregnancy, pulling out, condoms etc. Talks of sex. Kissing.
WC: 2.5k
A/n not proofread. I'm posting because it's been rotting away in my drafts. Sorry if this isn't good. I don't even remember what it's about.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"This can't be real..." You whispered to yourself as you stared blankly at the piece of plastic in your hands. Staring at two little pink lines.
Two little tiny pink lines telling you you're pregnant. How? You and Eddie have always been careful. You used protection every single time you had sex.
You've had scares in the past where your periods were weeks late. But when you ended up being over a month late this time around. You decided it was time to take a test. You had a gut feeling you might have been pregnant.
You were exhausted more so than usual. Extremely sensitive and had nausea every morning and evening. Were you surprised? No. Shocked? Yes. There was a little part of you hoping you were wrong. A baby right now just wasn't in yours and Eddie's plan.
You've only been dating for almost two years now. While having a family with him is something you do want. Getting a head start right now just wasn't ideal. You only just moved in together this past summer.
Now that you hold this little test strip in your shaking hands, you know you'll have to break the news to your boyfriend eventually. He's out in the living room watching The Golden Girls. A show you never would have guessed was his favorite. You heard his laughter echoing around the trailer during the cheesecake episode.
Was he going to be mad? Would he scream and yell at you? Blame this all on you? You thought to yourself. You felt like you were going to throw up out of nervousness.
No. Eddie wouldn't be upset with you over something like this. He isn't that type of person. No matter how others viewed him to be. He isn't like that. You can't even remember a time he raised his voice to you. You soothed yourself down, taking deep breaths.
Opening up the bathroom door, you make your way over to him.
"Hey baby, come watch." He pats the cushion next to him.
You swallow hard. "Uh, can we turn this off for a sec?"
Eddie looks up, noticing there was something very wrong with you.
"Uh, sure." He grabbed the remote, switching the tv off.
"Well, there isn't any better way to tell you this, so I'm just gonna say......I'm pregnant." You blurted out.
Eddie laughed at first. "Pregnant. Okay." He takes a sip of his beer. His laughter quickly died when you saw the serious and very scared look on your face.
"You took a test?" He gulped.
"Yeah, just a few minutes ago." You swallow another lump in your throat.
You immediately start to panic again, "We're always careful. I don't know how this happened."
Eddie stands to quickly be by your side. He hasn't really had time to process what you just told him. His immediate focus right now is calming you down.
We're careful...WE'RE ALWAYS CAREFUL!" You shouted. Your face is growing hot, and you feel like you could pass out any moment.
"You always wear a condom you fuckin' keep them in your wallet for christ sake"
"I know, baby, but I mean those things don't always work," Eddie reassured you softly, rubbing your back.
"We're always careful." You repeated again.
"Well, let's think back to when we weren't careful." He's trying to help put the pieces together. There had to have been a time when you both were so caught up in each that he didn't put on a condom or something.
"When was there a time I didn't at least wear one?"
"I dunno." You tap your fingers against your forehead. While Eddie guides you to sit down on the couch. "There had to have been a night - where - we..." You trailed off.
"My parents," you gasped loudly, snapping your fingers together.
His brows shoot up, and his eyes widen. He suddenly remembers that night very, very well. But he pulled out. He knows he did.
"When we stayed the night because of the storm" You continued on. The memory of that night flooding back to you. That was it. Eddie had promised to pull out right before he finished - yet obviously didn't do it in enough time.
There was something in the air that day. You couldn't pinpoint what it was. You had told Eddie to behave, but at dinner, you were the one misbehaving. Teasing him a little. Trying to get a rise out of him. You didn't think he was still going to be worked up even after it was time for bed. You were wrong. Very wrong.
"Huh," Eddie sounded utterly perplexed. He moves to sit down next to you. trying to bring you any amount of comfort he can offer.
"Huh what?" You repeated back to him. Why wasn't he as freaked out like you?
"Jus' the fact that I got you pregnant on a pull out couch is fucking ironic" He was in disbelief. Absolute disbelief. He knew pulling out wasn't his strong suit, but he never thought from just that one time would get you pregnant.
Was Eddie upset you were pregnant? No. Not at all. Having kids with you was something he always saw in your future together. How could he be so stupid, though? He thought. The one time he doesn't use a condom and you get knocked up.
"Are you--are you joking right now?" Your mouth hangs open. "Don't joke, please don't joke."
"Hey, hey, it's okay. Everything will be okay. " He pulls you to him. Your head lays flat against his chest. He was trying to be supportive, but on the inside he's freaking out. When he freaks out, he makes dumb jokes to lighten the mood. Something he knows he shouldn't have done, but it's too late now.
"Sooooo at yours parents place it was then." He draws out leaning forward to rest a hand under his chin.
"I guess." You murmured.
Eddie smiles fondly to himself. He most definitely remembered that day. That night, most importantly.
"....well," He perks up, jumping up to stand. He was trying to be as optimistic as possible. Truthfully, on the inside, he was freaking out. If you weren't sitting there in front of him right now, he would probably be pissing himself. Eddie knows you would be an amazing mother to his children. He most definitely knows he would be a great father, too. A complete contrast to how his father was.
"Time to make some calls." He was already heading for the phone when you panicked, running over to stop him. "We can't not yet--i need to see a doctor first."
"To make sure I am...I mean I know I am, but I need confirmation,"you further explained. Eddie just stood there listening to you and agreed as he silently nodded his head.
"Okay, well, after we see the doctor, who are we telling first? Your parents or my parent?" He was so eager to tell everyone. He was terrified, but the more he thought about it, the more excited he became. A tiny little version of you and him mashed together, running around.
"We'll tell Wayne first." You said matter of factly. You loved your parents, but you were closer to his uncle. He was like a second father to you, and you couldn't imagine anyone else knowing before him.
Eddie smiles and leans down to kiss the corner of your mouth.
"You scared?" He whispered leaning his forehead against yours.
...a-a little, but we'll be fine." You whispered back. The longer it sinks in that you're pregnant, the panic seems to fade. Eddie wasn't angry with you. He was scared you could tell but that's to be expected.
"Don't be scared, baby. We're doing this together." He reassured before kissing your lips softly again. "M'gonna take care of you both."
Tumblr media
It's been three weeks since you took your pregnancy test and had your doctor's visit. They confirmed you were, in fact, expecting. Two months, to be exact. You were greatfull you got pregnant in the winter. Oversized sweaters and hoodies were your best friends. Now, it was time to break the news to everyone.
Eddie and you had already agreed. Wayne was going to be the first to know. You had everything planned out. You had told Eddie to call his uncle and ask if he wanted to go out for dinner. Knowing Wayne, he wasn't going to pass up on an opportunity to spend time with either of you.
You wanted to surprise him with a gift. You know Wayne has a green thumb. He loves to garden. He brags about how he has the best tomatoes in Indiana. So you took Eddie shopping for the perfect gift to give to him as a cute way to tell him you and his nephew are having a baby. You hope he'll catch on and figure out he's going to be a grandpa when he opens his present. It's a little onesie with "Home grown" embroidered on the front with little veggies.
"I like this one." You pointed at the cute little outfit on the hanger.
Eddie chuckled, reading the front. "Wayne's gonna love it. Hell won't be surprised if he tried wearing it." He joked, picking up the tiny shirt off the rack.
You giggled, "I can't wait to tell him."
"Me too, I can't keep my mouth shut for much longer." He mumbled, smirking at some of the funny sayings scribbled on the baby clothes.
The longer you came to terms with the fact that you're pregnant, your stress eased up. Sure, you were still scared, but you had Eddie and your friends. Plus your family. You reassured yourself almost daily that you'd be fine and to enjoy your pregnancy. Every single article of clothing you saw you bought. Didn't matter the color or size. If it was cute, you picked it up.
Eddie was a nervous wreck in the beginning but concealed it well. Mostly because he knew he needed to be there for you. he was also excited, too. He couldn't wait to share his hobbies with his little one. Read them bedtime stories. Sing to them at night before bed. Teach them to play an instrument or two. He looked forward to showing up to the PTA meetings in his battle vest with his sweet "mini me" on his hip.
Eddie knew he was going to be a good dad. He promised you and the baby still in your tummy every night he'd protect the both of you. He couldn't keep his hands off your belly. You weren't far along in your pregnancy, but Eddie was constantly hoping he could feel a little kick.
"We should do the dinner today." Eddie mentioned holding a handful of baby clothes.
"He might wanna to do it tomorrow since he's off."
"I'll call'em when we get home and ask. he can't say no to me." You agreed. It's true Wayne can't say no to you. Which you will take advantage of.
Later on that day after you and Eddie arrived home. You put Wayne's surprise in a little gift bag with a note attached to it.
Picking up the phone, you began dialing his number patiently, waiting for him to pick up. He should be home by now. You thought. "Hey Wayne, it's me, your favorite. I was wondering if you wanted to go out to dinner with me and Eddie tonight instead of tomorrow? "
Eddie leaned closer over in the wooden chair sat by the dining room table. He scoffs when he heard you get extatic on the other end. Knowing full well, his uncle said yes.
"You will? Okay, we'll pick you up at five o'clock sharp."
"Favorite, huh?" He crossed his arms with a smirk.
"You know it." You playfully mess up his hair as you run to your bedroom to get ready.
"Yeah, well, I've known him longer... I have seniority over him!" Eddie yelled out, teasing you.
He gets up from his chair, making his way to your shared bedroom. He stands there leaning in the doorway. Admiring you getting undressed in front of him. Taking in every curve on your figure.
Eddie moves to wrap his arms around you from behind. Pulling your back tight to his chest. His nose buried in the crook of your neck. You smiled softly, melting into his arms.
"Ya know, I was reading that baby book you bought it said something about sex helping induce labor." He whispered seductively in your ear. His lips trailing light kisses down your neck.
You turned your head."...Eddie, that's not until months from now." You let out a breathy laugh.
"Yeah, but just think about how well prepared you'll be when the time comes - kid is just gonna slide right out." Eddie argued. You know half of him is joking, and the other half is completely serious.
"Get dressed, babe. we leave in thirty minutes." You peel yourself from his tight grasp.
"Offer still stands." He holds up his hands in surrender.
Fifteen minutes went by, and there was a loud knock at your front door. His uncle had driven over so you all could ride together. After much bickering from Wayne, you all packed in Eddie's van.
Wayne refused to let Eddie drive, so it was you and him upfront with your boyfriend sulking in the backseat. Mumbling to himself about how he's not that bad and how everyone else just drives slow.
You noticed Eddie's uncle looking at the small gift bag you made up for him. His eyes kept wandering over to guess who it was for and what was inside.
Once all three of you pulled up in front of the new local diner in Hawkins. You three gathered in and let the hostess walk you over to your table. You and Eddie sat next to each other in a booth, leaving wayne alone across from you. The waitress comes over taking everyone's orders. After she left, you figured it was the perfect time to give it to him.
You look up at Eddie, nudging his side to grab his attention. His uncle just got done scolding him over his breaks needing change.
"So uh, we got you a present," Eddie coughed. He doesn't think he can handle more lectures from the man who practically raised him.
But he straightened up his back, preparing for anything.
"Yep here you go hope you like it." You picked up the bad next to you and placing it front of him.
"For me?" Wayne grabbed it and started taking the tissue paper out. "It ain't ma' birthday yet."
He laughs when he pulls out the tiniest little shirt he's ever seen. "Home grown, that's cute...I don't think it's gonna fit me though darlin-."
He cuts his sentence, short eyes growing wider by the second. You and Eddie look over at each other, smiling from ear to ear.
"Is this what I think it is?." Wayne questioned with tears threatening to spill over his lashes.
"Yep we're having a baby." Eddie moved to wrap an arm over your shoulder and pulling into his side.
"We wanted to tell you first." You choked back a sob.
Wayne still gathering his thoughts. He's holding the small onesie in his hand like he's already holding your newborn baby.
"I-I'm gonna be a grandpa?" Wayne wiped at his eyes. His was starting to become overwhelmed.
Here come the tears from Eddie now. His eyes swelling up and nose turning red. He's never seen Wayne this over come with emotions before. The only time he's ever seen him like that is when his dad started his usual mess. That was always just out of anger and frustrations mostly. This was pure joy and happiness. Wayne has always wanted the best for his nephew.
"We're thinking of naming them, Ozzy." Eddie tried to joke and lighten the mood.
Wayne couldn't say anything but only shake his head at nephew. He cleared his throat, grabbing napkins from the dispenser on the table.
"We are not." You spoke up, wiping your eyes.
Your food finally came, and the waitress gave all three of you a concerned look. A table full of adults bawling their eyes out is a cause of concern. Especially in this town. It was only when she noticed the tiny onesie folded up neatly beside wayne on the table, did her worry look drop. She mumbled a soft aww and set everyone's food down.
"Congratulations to all of you." She said with a warm smile.
The rest of the night went on like normal. Except now instead of Wayne fussing at Eddie for not eating healthy. He was doing that to both of you. Telling you how you need to order seconds because you're eating for two. Informing Eddie how the trailer needs to be baby proofed immediately. The only thing left to do was tell your parents next and his friends. You can only assume which of the two is going to freak out the most.
You leaned over and whispered to Edde, "You wanna tell Dustin next ooooor-?"
He side eyed you. " We're telling your parents next - if it makes you feel better, I'll be on the phone so they can yell at me instead."
"Deal?" Eddie leaned back in the booth, wrapping an arm around your shoulder. He was busy focusing on Wayne's ranting and your concerns about telling your parents.
You sighed, dreading that phone call, but knowing it needs to be done. "deal."

Missed call
Tumblr media
Y/N was just days away from going into labor. She waddled everywhere, constantly in pain, and had a bad case of pregnancy brain. She put soap in the fridge and butter in the shower, and Eddie had a good laugh about it. She spaced constantly on the laundry, piling up. She tried to get out of the fog, but she couldn't.
Eddie was patient and understanding of it. He found it adorable how she'd walk into the room and pout because she couldn't remember why. He tried his best to help her remember things, and help around the house.
Eddie was gone at a meeting as Y/N cleaned the kitchen. Her attention was cut short when the house phone rang, she moved as fast as she could.
"Hello, this is the Munson's, how can I help you?" Eddie's PR manager talked on the other line. Y/N wrote down the important message that had to be delivered to Eddie immediately. Y/N hung up the phone and tucked the piece of paper in her pocket. Eddie didn't get personal calls until lunch, so she had a few hours before she could call.
~~~
Eddie slammed the front door as he marched through the house. Y/N easily could tell he was upset as he sat on the couch, angrily throwing his shoes. She grabbed him a beer and sat next to him. He grabbed the beer as she softly played with his hair. He felt his body relaxing as he leaned against the couch.
"what's wrong?" She asked, her fingers massaging his head.
"Tracy bitched me out for missing a meeting for a late night talk show that I had no idea about! I tried to explain that i was unaware of it but she wouldn't give me a chance to fucking speak. " Eddie ranted, going on and on but Y/N felt the guilt in her bones. Her hand reached into her pocket, the piece of paper with the message she never called about.
"Um, babe?" She said quietly, Eddie hummed and looked at her. His hand was on her knee as he waited for her to speak.
"She called the house and told me. I wrote it all down! I just forgot to call you on your break. I'm sorry." Y/N apologized, handing him the crumpled piece of paper.
Eddie knew he shouldn't get upset at her, it was the pregnancy brain. But he missed a huge opportunity because of it.
"DAMMIT Y/N!" He groaned, getting off the couch, and ran his hand over his face. She jumped at his loud voice, sinking into the couch as he paced in front of her.
"WHAT DO I DO WITH THIS NOW?" he screamed, throwing the piece of paper on the floor. Y/N felt tears in her eyes as he shouted. He was shouting around her, not directly in her face but it almost felt like it.
"I'm sorry!" She cried, tears falling down her face as she tried to stand up. She struggled but made it to her feet. Reaching for his hands. She smiled through her tears when he allowed her to hold his hands. Her hands softly held his.
"This would have been a huge opportunity for me, Y/N." He wasn't yelling anymore but she knew he was still mad. His voice was stern and low.
"I know! It slipped my head, and I completely forgot." She explained. Eddie nodded as he took away his hands. She quickly tried to grab them again but he stepped back.
"I just need a second, okay?" He groaned, throwing on his shoes as he grabbed his keys.
"WAIT! Baby don't leave! Just come relax on the couch, I'll go to the room." She pleaded. But he kept walking towards the door.
"I said I need a second. Your pregnancy brain is out of control and it needs to be fixed" He snapped and slammed the door. Y/N covered her mouth as she sobbed. She always fucked everything up because of her pregnancy brain. It was always the little things but now she cost Eddie a huge opportunity in his career.
~~~
Eddie sighed as he rubbed his face. The loud bar filled his ears as he tried to calm down. He called a friend to come sit with him, he needed to vent but couldn't stand to watch his wife cry because of him.
"So let me get this straight, your PR manager called your house phone, instead of your personal cell to deliver this huge important message and left it with your wife. The wife that is like two days away from birth is suffering from pregnancy brain, and you yelled at her instead of your PR manager? The manager should have called you in the first place." Steve explained, a frown on his face.
"Son of a bitch," Eddie groaned, smacking his head against the bar counter. "You're right. God, I am like the biggest asshole, and easily the worst husband." The guilt ate him alive. It wasn't her fault, Tracy should have called him directly if it was such a huge deal.
"Go home and apologize, own up to it, and make her feel like she didn't mess up your career."
~~~
Eddie slowly walked into the house, the lights off as he looked around. He figured she must have gone to bed, another feeling of guilt knowing she struggled to make it up the stairs.
He sighed and walked into their bedroom, a light on near the bed and her laptop rested on her stomach as she slept.
Eddie stripped off his clothes and crawled into the bed, grabbing her laptop to shut it off. He scrunched his eyebrows as he read the article she was on.
"How to overcome pregnancy brain"
Eddie closed the laptop with a sad sigh, lying down as he wrapped his arm around her. Softly rubbing her swollen stomach as she slept. He kissed her head and whispered apologies in her ear.
He'd wait until the morning to talk it out with her.
~~~
Eddie yawned as he walked down the stairs, Y/N was already out of bed when he woke up. He could hear her on the phone, her voice trembling as she cried.
"No Tracy, please! It was all my fault. He didn't miss it or anything. I forgot to tell him. You have to set something new up, like just ca-" Eddie grabbed the phone from her hand and hung it up. Her wet eyes stared at him as she tried to grab the phone.
"EDDIE STOP!" she sobbed, choking on her tears as she tried to grab the phone, but he threw it across the counter.
He wrapped his arms around her as she cried into his chest. He held her tightly and kissed her forehead.
"It's okay, shh," he cooed, swinging them back and forth as he held her. "I'm not mad and I'm sorry for yelling. None of it was your fault, and it was wrong of me to blame you."
"No! I messed it up. I'm just so stupid and forget everything."
"You're not stupid!" He argued, holding her head to make her look at him. "You are having our baby, and you've been carrying her for nine months. You are amazing. Tracy never should have left the message with you and I shouldn't have acted the way I did. You have every right to be spacey. Nothing is wrong with that or you. I love you so much. Please don't cry because of me." He softly wiped away her tears and kissed her forehead.
"I love you too." She said, cuddling into his chest.
"Now how about we take a nice bath and eat pizza" Eddie suggested, knowing that was her favorite routine to do when she was upset.
Eddie laughed as she yanked herself out of his arms and headed for the bathroom.
A few more days until their family had a new member.

My brain went to reader being pregnant bc they can’t reach bc of their baby belly.
He would be so gentle, helping you into the water making sure you don’t slip and fall. He would put in the jets for you bc he knows your back has been aching from the weight of the baby. Once he also got in he would let you soak for a bit before hand and massage your feet and ankles. He would let you lean up against him and just hold you until you asked him to help shave out of the blue. It has been so long and it was getting long, longer than you liked, and Eddie’s seen everything anyways so why not?
“What no, baby I like your little bush” he smirks
“But that bush is not so little anymore it’s too long you won’t been be able to find my pussy in this jungle I’m growing.” You huff
“Baby you’re being ridiculous, let’s just enjoy the rest of this bath and we will go to bed and I’ll show you how good of an explorer I am.” Eddie laughed.
“Baby please! I don’t feel sexy anymore I just wanna have this one thing” you pout.
“Woah woah woah. Don’t feel sexy anymore? How is that even possible? You’re the sexiest woman I know. You have all the curves a man could dream of… especially now bc your boobies are getting bigger and your ass is getting bigger and knowing your growing our baby… fuck your are my superwoman”
You try and hide yourself in Eddie’s chest but he doesn’t let you. He knows you don’t take compliments very well.
“Look at me baby” you look up at his eyes. Yours were staring to water, the pregnancy hormones were really bad and you cried at everything now. “You really want me to do this for you?” Eddie countered.
“Please” you sniffled.
“Okay baby.” He kisses your head before stepping out of the tub to get your razor and shaving cream.
When he got back he plopped you up on the side of the tub so he could get a good angel to not cut you.
Once he was finished you were really aroused. Having Eddie stair at your pussy, and touching it was getting you worked up. Eddie could see how the blood had rushed to your pussy, making your lips fuller. And now with the hair gone he could see how swollen your clit had gotten and now wet you were. He couldn’t help but lean in and kiss you there but he couldn’t get a good angle because your baby got in the way.
“Come on mama, I gotta treat this pussy right after threatening her with a razor. Gotta show her how much I love her” Eddie pulled you into the bedroom and you had one of the best orgasms of your life

The Bard and the Sorceress
summary: Eddie makes up a bedtime story of how your baby was conceived, to your pregnant belly. CW: established relationship, dad!Eddie x pregnant!reader, 'she/her' pronouns used. Brief mentions of a first miscarriage (not graphically described), alluded smut. Let me know if I missed anything! word count: 1.7k
Tumblr media
“Once upon a time, there was a king and a queen… – Wait, no, no, no. A knight and a princess!”
You giggle, head tilting back against the pillows in delight, as Eddie’s plush lips brush against your skin, as delicate as clouds. He’s gazing at you from his spot by the foot of the bed, with those golden eyes and a dimply grin that rival the sunshine – a combination seen in your dreams, reflected on another tiny being.
“No, no, no, no, wait, no – a bard and a sorceress…” he winks as he puts on his raspy dungeon master voice and slyly raises his eyebrows.
“That’s more like it. Alright! – once upon a time, there was a bard and a sorceress, who lived blissfully in their cottage, far out in the forest that surrounded an ancient kingdom…”
Eddie’s murmurs wrap around your heart like the safest of embraces. His warm breath swirls among the broad expanse of your pregnant belly like the embers of a fire on a cold winter night; his curls caress the stretched skin, like petals falling on a soft bed of grass; his callused fingers trace the stretchmarks and sore spots reverently, trying to make up the outline of the baby that he imagines is sleeping soundly within you.
Your shared bedroom is bathed in mellow, honeyed light coming from the bedside lamp, as you lay among freshly washed sheets to relax you, and pillows that are perfumed with the heavenly scent of your and Eddie’s skin. You’ve got your t-shirt rolled up beneath your breasts, with your belly being warmed by Eddie’s cheek, which longingly rests there as he talks.
“The bard and the sorceress didn’t have much to their names, but they had love. Endless love.”
Eddie begins his tale, ever the storyteller, able to breathe life into entire realms in the spur of the moment. You grin as you imagine your child in the near future, being lulled to sleep as her father spins endless, magical adventures, just for her.
“The bard would sing as the moonlight shone under the sorcerer, who danced in the woods to the beat of the night. Together they created magic, their sounds of love made a symphony that rivaled that of the wolves and nightbirds. And from that magic, a little bud grew within the sorceress.”
Your eyes wander aimlessly all over the room, getting lost in the coils at the crown of Eddie’s head as you remember how all of this came to be. How the conversation of children had been had so long ago, only then it had been agreed that you’d wait until after you got married and had a little bit more to your name than a shitty apartment you could barely afford with Eddie balancing out his job at Thatcher tire and teaching music on the side, and you begging people to buy your paintings while you taught art at the youth center.
But, there was one day, when you just couldn’t pry your hands away from each other; when there came rounds and rounds and rounds of rough, primal, feverish need that left you both desperate and drenched, throbbing, aching, and hungry for more, more, more.
You were gonna have a child anyway, so why wait? You begged Eddie to fill you in the way no one else would ever do until you could feel his essence stuffing you to the brim, Eddie’s being making a home inside yourself.
As if that wasn’t enough, he filled you again the next day, onto the next week. It was unlike anything you’d ever experienced before. Those days, you were both so elated, feeling invincible and high without taking a single hit. It truly was like magic, which burst out with sparks the day you took that first pregnancy test and it came back positive.
“The sorceress saw the face of that little bud, as clear as day, in her cauldron of clairvoyance.”
You exchange a grin as you remember endless conversations before falling asleep, sharing how you were both so certain it would be a girl.
“...And I wanna name her Elizabeth, like your mom…” you had murmured so long ago, while tucking a lock of his hair behind his ear, your heart folding over the way his eyes teared up with gratitude when you said that.
He grinned through the rivers that traversed his cheeks, nodding as he looked up towards the ceiling. “Oh yeah? You’d do that for me? You’re gonna give me another little Lizzie Munson?”
And even through his cracking voice, he had poked your sides to tickle you so you wouldn’t call him out for crying – making you wrap your arms around him and kiss him silly until your tears were replaced with bubbling giggles.
“The bard wrote songs for it, lullabies to help it grow,” Eddie continues. “The sorceress prayed every night to the mother goddess of the woods, swearing the little bud would be named in her honor. All was well, all was right. Until a dreadful night when they were awoken by a banshee’s shriek. The bud was gone!”
Your fingers halt their caress around Eddie’s curls, as the memory never fails to make your heart shudder, as if out without proper cover on a cruel, arctic night. You hadn’t done anything wrong at all, and the doctors said it was normal for a first-time pregnancy. It didn’t make it any less tragic for you, having woken one night, to the horror of your bedsheets stained with blood.
“The bard and the sorceress lamented its loss for days and nights. What had they done? They had nurtured it with all the love in their bodies; the sorceress had woven garments to keep it cozy during the winter, and the bard wrote sonnets to make its mind spin like dandelions in the wind.”
When you came back from the hospital, you swore you’d honor the original plan of waiting until after getting married. You gave yourselves a whole week to just be sad, doing nothing but napping and staying in bed watching silly movies. You even started a little diary where you wrote the things you looked forward to doing with your child once they came back to you – first missing tooth, first trip to Disneyland, first words, first day of school…
Eddie grabs your hand then, recognizing where your mind had wandered off to, giving it three little squeezes – to signify ‘I love you’ without words. He stops his tale to give your bellybutton a little kiss, nuzzling his cheek against your skin and breathing in deeply, as if reassuring himself that those memories were a thing of the past.
That the present was far more beautiful – kicking his face and making him snort and chuckle, saying “Alright, alright, you want your papi to continue, I get it!”
You laugh brightly, and resume your toying with Eddie’s hair as he clears his throat exagerateddly before continuing.
“In their period of mourning, the sorceress sought answers from her cauldron, and was soothed by the revelation she came upon. There in the iridescent liquid, the face of the bud became clear again, enveloped by tender, wise hands. A whisper came in with the gust of wind entering through the opened window. It was the mother goddess! whose soothing voice assured the sorceress that their little bud would be safe with her – that she would take care of it until the time was right for it to rejoin the couple. Many spring suns rose before the sorceress felt the kick of life within her once again, growing stronger each day, with the blessing of the mother goddess.”
“ – and you know who that is?” Eddie breaks the narrative to speak directly to the baby that’s been kicking eagerly through the rest of Eddie’s tale. He taps his finger gently to the spot that seems to jut out with each kick, with a goofy lovesick grin on his face. Still amused as hell because he says it looks like a scene from Alien.
“That’s you, baby!” You double over in laughter when he blows a raspberry to your belly, retaliating all the kicks he felt against his cheek during your tale “That’s you, my precious girl!” he coos between snorting chuckles and tickles that make you both roll around in bed.
“-- Stop, stop stop!!” You wheeze as you try to push Eddie away from you, making him redirect his attack to the side of your neck.
He fits himself behind your body, with his arm all snug around your belly until your laughter dies down, to the gentle rhythm of his hand rubbing circles along the shape of you, and those dewdrop kisses that turn into gentle licks that have you sighing contently, melting into the bed.
Only Eddie could have you swooning with innocent tenderness one moment, to then have you gasping for breath the other, as his hand trails over your curves and his palm squeezes your breast. He lets out a soft groan every time, delighting in the way they feel heavier in their palm, way more sensitive as his thumb lightly fondles your throbbing nipple.
“What say thee, my beloved sorceress, wanna make more magic tonight?” You can’t help but chuckle and blush over such a corny line delivered so seriously through that low growl coming right from Eddie’s chest.
“You’re so stupid” You playfully push his face away from your neck just to egg him on, and he gladly takes the challenge, encasing you in his arms and kissing you all over like an overeager puppy.
And what could you say? It takes a certain kind of magic to transform laughter into whines of pleasure, to cries of newborn life.
That’s what you ponder, a month later, gazing tiredly from your hospital bed to the sight beside you. Eddie rocking your baby in his arms, with a grin as luminous as the moonlight.
He’s kissing Elizabeth’s delicate head, whispering the continuation of The Bard and the Sorceress.

Oh, Baby
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/N: I have not been motivated in the slightest to write anything recently, but I was in the shower and thought of this.
Warnings: Pregnant!reader, afab!reader, she/her pronouns, delivery, comfort, Y/n is overused, I have no idea what pregnancy or birth feels like, this is all either from google or how I think It'd feel like.
Word Count: 1.1k
Summary: You're pregnant, three weeks till your due date, your husband is on tour with his band for a last 'hurrah' before he becomes a stay-at-home dad. One problem. He arrives back at home tomorrow, but your water breaks tonight.
Masterlist
You were making dinner when you felt it, a slight pain in your belly, you turned the stove on to low as you made your way towards the bathroom, you didn't.
Wayne's in the kitchen, getting ready for his night shift, you feel a trickle of liquid rush down your leg. embarrassed you rush back to the kitchen to grab towels.
Then you feel the pain, a soft pain in your lower stomach before a sharp pain travels through your body. You take deep breaths, putting your hands on the counter holding yourself up.
no. nope. not happening.
"Are you alright, Y/n?" Wayne speaks from the living room where he's tying his shoes. you quickly shake your head as the pain leaves after a minute. He moves quickly, coming to your aid.
Wayne was staying with you just in case you needed anything while Eddie was gone. you had a spare bedroom and he was happy to help. "My water might have just broken in the hallway."
Wayne looks, seeing a small puddle of liquid on the hardwood. "You call Eddie, I'll grab your bag, okay?"
You give a soft nod, making your way to the phone, "It's in the nursery."
You punch the numbers of Eddie's phone, before looking to the stove to see the time, it's seven, meaning Eddie is playing his last show for the next few hours.
There's no hope in calling him, he won't have his phone on him, you quickly dial his managers.
ring
ring...
ring...
"Hello?"
"John! It's Y/n, Eddie's wife."
"Hey, hon' what can I do for you?"
"I might be in labor, would really appreciate it if you would notify Eddie."
"Oh! sure thing!"
"Thank you! I'll be at the Hospital in Hawkins, tell him he can reach me there."
"Of course!"
"Alright, thank." You hang the phone back up, just when Wayne comes back down the hallway with your go bag and your shoes. you look at him in appreciation.
"Talk to him?"
"no, I called John, he said he'd relay the message." Wayne nods, heading to the door.
"Ready?"
"Nope."
"Sounds about right." Wayne laughs as he helps your sit and put on your shoes, he grabs your hands, helping you stand up and head out the door.
It's silent for most of the ten minute car drive, there's a total of three contractions on the way there. Wayne just reaches over to squeeze your shoulder.
you walk in the emergency room, a nurse comes quickly with a wheelchair. they find you a birthing room as a nurse starts to ask Wayne questions.
How far along is she?
Is she on any medication?
"Ask me.' Y/n sits up, looking at the nurse.
"Oh! I'm sorry, are you not the father?"
"No!" Both of you shout at the same time.
"I'm-"
"Grandpa, He's the baby' grandpa." The nurse nods, looking over to you.
"Alright, if you can lift your legs on the stirrups, I'll check your dialation." You nod as Wayne comes to your side, he asks you a silent question.
Want me to go? You shake your head, he's the only one here and you'd rather not do it alone.
"Alright, you are six centimeters dilated." Your eyes widen, only four? you need to dilate four more inches?
"How long?"
"It differs from patient to patient, Ma'am."
Another nurse comes into the room, "You have a call, it's transferred to your phone."
Wayne hands you the phone.
"Eddie?"
"Sweetheart?"
"Hey."
"Are you alright?"
"Are you kidding, I'm getting ready to push out your baby and you aren't here."
"right, sorry. I'm about to get onto a flight, I'll be there as soon as I can."
"You better or I will be so pissed at you."
"I know, baby"
"Please hurry."
"I will, I love you, honey."
"I love you too, Eds."
Eddie asks if he can talk to Wayne so you hand the phone to him, just in time for another contraction, Eddie can hear it through the phone, he feels a tear roll down his eye in this empty airport.
That's how your night turns, for three hours, Wayne never leaving your side, telling you to squeeze as hard as you want. You do, you feel bad, but you do. "Alright, Mrs. Munson, you're at nine centimeters."
"Can I push? Please can I push." You can't even hear Wayne's words of encouragement in this moment, you see the doctor shake her head, as she says something, "I change my mind! I don't want to do this! He's supposed to be here!"
There's tears running down your cheek. You had received your Epidural Block two hours ago, you still felt the pain, but right now all you were feeling was the absence of someone who is supposed to be in this room, right now.
“Alright Ma’am, take a deep breath and push for me.” You do as she says, Wayne squeezes your hand. You can finally hear everything around you again, you can also hear the heavy footsteps in the halls.
A doctor hurries in followed by a frantic looking Eddie, you sigh in relief as he makes his way towards you. He kisses your forehead and takes a hold of your hand.
“Another breath and push.” The doctor speaks again, you do, looking at Eddie as you do, you’re so beyond grateful he got here in time.
“One more.” You have tears running down your cheek as you give it your all, you collapse back onto the bed once you’ve done your best, that’s when you hear it. The soft wailing of a child.
“Congratulations, It’s a girl.” Eddie smiles down at you, brushing stray hairs away from your face as he kisses your head once again.
“You did so well, I’m so proud of you.” The nurse hands you the baby and you hold her on your chest as eddie’ hand grazes her little arms. Wayne is sitting in the chair next to the bed as he also smiles at you.
Eddie and you both make eye contact, you have decided on both a name for a girl and a boy.
Eddie of course said, ‘if it’s a boy we have to name him edward jr.’
‘Eds, there is no Edward sr.’ because no one ever calls him Edward
After a split second, you mutter together, “Melanie.”

During the late hours of the night, the occupants checked into the hospital were fast asleep. Only the doctors and nurses who worked the night shift were awake at this time. They made their rounds per usual, checking in on their select patients.
A young nurse walked down the long stretch of the hallway before stopping at one of the private rooms to her left side. She knocked on the door a couple times, waiting for permission to enter. Once she heard this, she twisted the doorknob and entered the small hospital room.
The new parents were cuddling in the small hospital bed, laying wide awake in their spot. They cradled their newborn baby who was only a few hours old at this point. The two of them were smiling down at their precious baby, admiring all her little features.
The baby was a pink newborn. Her mess of hair on her head was now dry, but you couldn’t see it under the pink cap on her head. She was swaddled tightly in a blanket the hospital provided its newborn patients.
At this moment, the little one was wide awake. Her big brown eyes blinked slowly as she surveyed some of her surroundings to the best of her ability. She began rooting which meant her little pink tongue poked out of her mouth every so often. Her instincts were strong. She wanted milk.
“I think she’s hungry,” Eddie suggested. He had taken notice of the way his daughter slightly turned her head to face her mother’s clothed breast. He went to move the blanket more away from the baby’s mouth, brushing her chin ever so gently.
“O-Oh,” Y/n said with a hint of nervousness. “Okay. I’ll just--” she went to adjust her gown.
“Y-Yeah. I’ll just uh...” Eddie carefully slipped over the side of the bed so he could stand to his feet. He shoved his hands into his pockets awkwardly. “Give you some space,” Eddie chuckled nervously.
There was a strong sense of awkwardness in the hospital room. As Eddie shuffled backwards in his place, he came up with a good excuse to leave the room.
“Do you want a coffee?” But Eddie didn’t want for her to respond. He opened the door quickly. “I’ll get you a coffee,” Eddie replied before closing the door behind him.
“’kay,” Y/n said to the empty room.
Slowly, Y/n readjusted the newborn in her grasp, shifting to pull down the corner of her hospital gown. Then she pulled her breast out with her hand. She went to move her nipple towards the baby’s mouth and she instinctively latched on.
The baby began to suckle softly. She drew out the long streams of creamy milk, swallowing on her own. Her rosy pink cheeks moved as she nursed from her mother. She seemed to be savoring every single drop of milk her mother had to offer her. She made little noises to showcase her contentment.
Meanwhile, Eddie was walking aimlessly through the hospital corridor. In all honesty, he was just trying to kill some time. He didn’t want to intrude on his girlfriend’s privacy and he felt the strong awkward tension in the room. His hands were shoved deep into his jacket pockets and he kicked the tile flooring beneath him.
When Eddie lifted his head, he spotted a lady sitting at the front desk. What caught his attention was the phone resting on the top of the desk. He quickly hurried over there, asking the lady if he could use the phone to make a phone call. She said that he could.
The first thing he did was dial in his own home phone. He looked at the clock hanging on the wall, noticing that it was around five in the morning. He felt bad because his uncle worked the night shift and had probably just gotten home an hour earlier. He wondered if his uncle was already fast asleep.
Much to Eddie’s surprise, Uncle Wayne picked up the phone and held it to his ear. He asked who was calling and his nephew quickly said his name. He added that they had gone to the hospital.
“Is everything okay? Did Y/n have the baby?” Uncle Wayne questioned on the other side of the line.
“Y-Yeah,” Eddie smiled at the thought. He felt the tears gathering in the corners of his eyes. “It’s a girl! She’s...oh...she’s so beautiful,” Eddie choked on his own tears.
“How’s Y/n?” Uncle Wayne inquired.
“She’s great! She’s feeding her right now so I stepped out for a bit,” Eddie explained. “Will you come by later to see them?” Eddie wondered.
“I wouldn’t miss it for the world,” Uncle Wayne commented. He smiled through the phone call.
By the time Eddie came back, Y/n had just finished feeding the baby and was readjusting her hospital gown. She went to reach for a spare cloth on the side table, but Eddie quickly grabbed it for her. He even went so far as to drape it over her shoulder for her, despite the fact that she was more than capable. She thanked him nonetheless.
Slowly, Eddie crawled back into bed beside his girlfriend. He wrapped his arm around her shoulder, holding her against his side. She began to burp the baby, patting her back gently enough that it didn’t hurt.
“Have we thought of any more names for her?” Eddie wondered curiously. He smiled at the little newborn.
“No,” Y/n released a long sigh of defeat. She remembered the long list of boy names they had gone through a few months prior. “It was so much easier when we thought it was going to be a boy,” Y/n confessed.
“What about...Diana?”
“Like the Bryan Adams’ song?” Y/n sounded slightly disappointed. She was about to dismiss the name because she disliked the idea of naming the baby after a famous song or singer.
“No!” Eddie tried to come up with some excuse, even though she nailed his suggestion. “Like Princess Diana. You like her, don't you?” Eddie tested that.
For a brief second, Eddie could see the wheels turning in her head as she pondered the choice of name. He looked at her quizzically, but he could tell that it wouldn't be enough to convince her.
“O-Or what about after the character in that book of yours? What is it called?” Eddie snapped his fingers as he tried to remember the name of the book. “Anne of Green Cables?” Eddie teased.
“Anne of Green Gables,” Y/n corrected him with a small smile on her face.
“Right! Wasn’t there a character named Diana in that book?” Eddie wondered. He could remember all the times she talked about that book. It was one of her all time favorites.
“Y-Yeah. Diana Barry,” Y/n nodded her head.
“She was your favorite, wasn't she?” Eddie spoke softly. He tried to capture her gaze by tipping his head down a little further. He gestured to the newborn. “Why not name her after the character?” Eddie suggested.
“I-I guess we could go with that,” Y/n finally convinced herself. She nodded her head in confirmation. She went to look back down at the baby in her arms.
While Y/n kept her attention on the baby, Eddie took a moment to admire his girlfriend. Despite having just endured the long painful hours of childbirth, Y/n was practically glowing! She just had a look about her. And she seemed so happy.
The pregnancy hadn’t been easy on her. With having gotten kicked out of her parents house to being slightly rejected by society, Y/n had her fair share of struggles. She didn’t smile most days since she was severely depressed.
For the first time in a long time, Eddie saw her smile when she looked down at their precious baby. It seemed like she had completely forgotten about all the bad things that happened and all the hard times she had. She had her baby and that was all that mattered to her now. He savored the way her lips curved into the most beautiful smile. Motherhood suited her nicely.
Eventually, Baby Diana would burp up those bubbles in her tummy. She could barely keep her eyes open after that. Her dear mother had laid her back down in her grasp. Her bright brown eyes would begin to droop in a slow manner, drunk on the sweet milk. She drifted off to sleep.
A couple hours later, the hospital allowed visitors to come into the back to see their friends or family. So Dustin, Max, Lucas, Mike, Nancy, Robin, and Steve were trying to navigate through the hospital corridors. The lady at the front desk was no help, according to Dustin. They were only slightly lost.
Back in the hospital room, Y/n was eating the breakfast the nurse had provided her with. She honestly didn't care if it didn’t taste good, because she hadn’t eaten in so long.
On the sidelines, Eddie was standing over the plastic bassinet that held his daughter. She was wide awake now and she had already been fed. Now Diana was just laying there, completely content with the world. She didn't make any fussy noises, just the occasional gurgle of spit.
There was a soft knocking on the door. They figured it was just the nurse coming to check vitals or make sure everything was alright. Much to their surprise, the door opened to reveal all of their friends. Dustin walked in first. He was carrying a whole bundle of balloons and a large brown teddy bear that looked like he won it from a fair.
“We come bearing gifts,” Dustin announced with a toothy grin on his face. Behind him, Lucas and Mike roughly slapped the balloons that got into their faces.
Without hesitation, the four kids made their way over to the container that held the baby. As if on cue, Eddie stepped away to give them space. He smiled at the way those four kids swooned at the sight of the newborn. They huddled around the plastic bassinet, peering down to look at the newborn baby with curios eyes.
Knowing that they'd eventually get their turn to look at the baby, the three teenagers went to stand beside the hospital bed to check on their friend instead.
“How are you feeling?” Nancy wondered. She placed her hand on her friend’s shoulder.
“I’ve been better,” Y/n confessed with a weak smile on her face. She shrugged her shoulders in slight defeat, not feeling the need to mention the soreness she still felt.
“Yeah, it’s not everyday you push a five pound baby out of your vagina.” Robin added in her nervous and awkward tone of voice. She laughed nervously to cover up the stunned silence that followed.
“Eddie!” Dustin called over his shoulder. “She looks just like you!”
Upon hearing this, Eddie couldn’t contain the smile from growing on his face. He straightened his back in posture, feeling the strongest sense of pride in that. It was true; the baby did look remarkably like him.
The four kids didn’t realize that they were mirroring every facial expression the baby was making. They were making silly faces at her. At one point, Dustin went to reach for the balloons above him. He tapped them a couple times as if trying to grab the baby’s attention. But instead, Diana only seemed to scrunch up her face and burst into a fit of tears.
“You made her cry!” Lucas exclaimed.
“I did not!” Dustin argued.
Carefully, Eddie made his way through the small crowd of kids. He scooped the newborn up in his arms. He bounced her a few times to hush her cries, holding her close to his chest. He kept one hand under her bottom for support and the other was lingering on her back. He cradled her so that her face was tucked into his neck.
The four kids had turned to watch him soothe the baby’s cries. Not only where they surprised that it seemed to be working but they were also surprised at how natural he looked doing it. It was like he’d done this before or he must have had some practice over the past couple hours of her being born.
“If you kids put on some hand sanitizer, you can take turns holding her.” Y/n told them.
Upon hearing this, all four kids practically ran to the side table in order to get a quick pump of hand sanitizer. They bumped shoulders, trying to push one another out of the way. This chaotic energy only resulted in Max getting a blob of sanitizer on one of her favorite shirts, which was curtesy of Dustin pumping the handle too hard.
After the boys rubbed the sanitizer between their hands, they hurried back towards the couch in the room. They held out their hands expectedly, patiently waiting for Eddie to place the baby in any one of their hands. Back by the bed, Max had grabbed a tissue and was trying to get the hand sanitizer out of her shirt. She looked back at the boys.
“You’ll get your chance to hold her,” Y/n reassured her with a small smile. Max nodded her head in acceptance.
Now Eddie leaned down to place the baby in Dustin’s arms. He made sure the baby was secure in his grasp before pulling away. He instructed him to keep his hand behind the baby’s head to support her. And since Dustin never had a younger sibling of his own, this was his first time holding a baby.
Much to everyone’s surprise, Dustin didn’t say anything about holding the baby. Usually, he would say something silly or snarky. But right now, Dustin was completely awestruck and it made him silent. He just stared down at the little newborn in his arms.
And Eddie watched him carefully. He just wanted to make sure nothing went wrong because that little baby meant the world to him now. He seemed to smile at the way his friend reacted to holding her. It looked like Dustin was a little stiff at first, but he quickly relaxed when he realized he wasn’t going to break her just by holding her.
“She’s beautiful,” Dustin finally said something. By his tone, everyone knew that he was probably crying but they chose not to call him out on it. They figured it might embarrass him.
“She really is,” Eddie nodded his head in agreement. “Just like her mother,” Eddie said while looking over his shoulder at his girlfriend.
After some time, the baby was eventually passed to Lucas and then to Mike. They also took their own time savoring the feeling of holding such a small newborn. Both Lucas and Mike had younger sisters of their own so this wasn’t totally new to them.
Then Max got to hold her. She smiled down at the precious baby in her arms. The four boys were hovering over her shoulder since they were still obsessing over the baby. She gently rocked the baby back and forth in a soothing manner. It honestly seemed to be putting the baby to sleep.
“So Harrington,” Eddie said slowly. He went to stand by him. He nudged him in the side slightly suggestively. “You gonna babysit for us?” He joked.
“Always the babysitter,” Steve said shaking his head.
“I’ll do it,” Max perked up. “I mean, I live close to you guys anyways. It wouldn’t be any trouble. And you wouldn't have to pay me! I would do it for free,” Max made her own case.
Both Eddie and Y/n agreed that she would be the first person they would call if they ever needed a babysitter. After this, Eddie went over to take the baby back into his arms. He carried the baby to his older friends.
Without warning, Eddie placed the baby into Robin’s arms. She had, at first, insisted that she wasn't good with kids, specifically newborns. She also mentioned that she was rather clumsy and she feared dropping the baby. But Eddie ignored all her comments and reassured her that he was right there if she needed help.
After some time, Robin came to realize that the baby was completely harmless and entirely innocent. She quickly grew more comfortable with having the baby in her arms. She made faces at the baby, even though she was now sleeping.
Then the baby was passed to Nancy who very gladly took the baby into her arms. She had two younger siblings so she was definitely the most experienced one in the room. She cooed at the sight of the baby. She bounced her gently.
Just seeing Nancy holding a baby made Steve’s heart soar with love. He looked at her discreetly as he stood beside her. He admired how natural she looked and imagined what she’d be like as a mother herself one day. He felt a weak smile growing at the corners of his lips.
Their friends stayed for at least another hour. For the most part, Baby Diana was sleeping soundly in her father’s arms. He sat on the couch and had two of the kids on either side of him. They really couldn’t get enough of the baby.
Once Diana woke up from her nap, she started to get fussy since it was feeing time. Both Eddie and Y/n shared a look. He awkwardly announced that they should probably get going. Naturally, the four younger kids asked why they had to leave so soon. But Steve was quick to jump in and say that they needed to get their rest. Though he figured they were just going to feed the baby and he respected their desired privacy.
Eddie went to reassure them that they'd all be able to hold her and spend more time with her once they got back home. They all really perked up at this. They left with broad smiles on their faces.
Once all of them had said their goodbyes, they closed the door behind them. Now Eddie carried the baby over to the hospital bed. He placed the squirming baby into the new mother’s arms. She was just starting to cry since she was so hungry.
Out of instinct, Eddie took his cue to leave the room. But he stopped when she said he didn’t have to leave. He just stood there in slight surprise. She proceeded to drape a cloth over her shoulder so that it fell in front of her chest. She adjusted her gown from under the cloth, preparing to breastfeed their baby.
He felt the need to turn away to give her privacy. He didn't want to make the situation awkward for her and he didn’t want to watch her like a creep. So instead, Eddie dropped his gaze to stare down at his feet. He found himself stealing a few glances at her. He felt so much admiration for her, being able to feed and provide for their baby. He smiled sheepishly at the thought.
After an hour, there was another soft knock on the door. Eddie went to open the door and saw his uncle standing on the other side. He quickly let him into the room with a broad smile on his face.
Now most people would bring balloons that said congratulation or little stuffed animals for the baby. But Uncle Wayne held a whole bushel of wild flowers instead. He brought them to the side table and laid them down there.
“These are for you, momma.” Uncle Wayne explained. He sent her the most soft and genuine smile. She thanked him for the gesture. She almost started crying because he had always been so kind to her.
Afterwards, Eddie gently took his uncle’s arm to lead him over to the baby. He shuffled to follow him, heading directly towards the plastic bassinet holding his great niece. He peered over the edge to see her sleeping form.
“Huh,” Wayne said. He honestly hadn’t expected her to look this cute in person. He was rather intrigued by the little human. “She’s a tiny little thing,” Wayne commented.
“She sure is,” Eddie nodded his head in agreement. He saw the look of curiosity in his uncle’s soft eyes. He smiled. “You wanna hold her?” Eddie wondered.
For a second, Uncle Wayne looked at his nephew with a slight hint of surprise. He even took a step backwards. He struggled to find his words, nearly shaking his head as if to say he was good. He had never held a baby before.
Despite hearing his uncle say ‘no, that’s okay’, Eddie carefully lifted the baby into his arms. He turned to face his uncle. He instructed him to hold out his arms so he could hold and support the baby. He tried to refuse, but the baby was already in his arms now.
Almost immediately, Wayne came to realize that the baby was a lot lighter than he had expected. He made a comment on how she felt lighter than a five pound bag of sugar. Then Wayne realized that the baby didn’t react any differently from when he held her verses when his nephew held her. She wasn’t upset or fussy that he was holding her. She was completely content.
“Oh,” Uncle Wayne exhaled. “She’s perfect.”
For the first time in a long time, Wayne felt the tears begin to gather in the corners of his eyes. He had never met such a calm and content newborn in his life. He had only experienced hearing young babies crying in grocery stores, and he was always annoyed by the sound of a crying baby. But he didn’t believe this baby would annoy him at all.
At this point, Wayne couldn’t hide the fact that he was crying at the mere sight of the baby. He didn’t even bother wiping them away. She was such a beautiful little baby. She was gazing up at him with such wide, curious eyes. She even grabbed his finger with her tiny hand. He didn’t know that most infants naturally take hold of people’s fingers. It honestly made him feel so special; it was almost as if she was saying she liked him!
Baby Diana’s skin was so soft from the lotion that had been lathered on her an hour earlier. She smelled so wonderful, because she had that newborn baby smell. Her smile made everyone’s heart so warm. Even her cries were so innocent, desperately wanting her mother or her mother’s milk.
She had only been alive for a couple hours and she had already met a whole crowd of people that had so much love for her. Despite anything that would come her way, whether that be the good or the bad, she would always have them. They’d always be there for her, no matter what. She’d never doubt that.

“s’too hot to be doin’ this laundry ed,” you complain, holding your lower back while you get up from your seat to stand behind him. the fans above work overtime but the muggy air and hot sun have already settled in the light yellow painted laundromat. your sandals skid against the grimy tiled floor, your sun dress swooshing by your knees where there’s no breeze to blow against the sweat that had collected on the backs of your thighs. and it’s everywhere, dripping down your back, between your breasts. it’s too god damn hot.
“you wanted to come,” he shrugs, trying to hide his smirk, “i told you to stay home and lay down, you didn’t wanna listen.”
he folds the whites first on one of the folding stations — his work tanks and tees, socks and underwear, a few of your shirts and dresses. then the colors. hiding in the piles are a litter of onesies and coveralls, little pants and shirts, little socks that you’d lose if you blinked. all new stock from your baby shower a few days ago — as if this little creature didn’t already have enough clothes piling up in the closet you and eddie shared. you had to keep some of the clothes at wayne’s at this point.
“you promised chex mix,” you shrug, “even he’s excited for it.” you run a hand over your belly, firm and sitting low now that you’re closer and closer to your due date. you wished two months would fly by quicker but ed loved seeing you like this.
“i know what i promised, sweetheart,” he nods, loading the clothes up into laundry bags. he swats your hand away when you read for one, “how many times do i have to tell you?”
“i’m pregnant honey, m’not dying,” you laugh. he presses a kiss to your temple and then the apple of your cheek.
“i can carry them,” he assures, smiling, “just waddle to the car for me.”
you pout, a sad one, “that wasn’t nice.”
“i’m just kid— oh, oh no baby don’t cry, don’t cry baby i’m sorry,” he soothes while tears start to poor down your cheeks. he puts the bags down to hold you to him, his curls tickling your face.
“you think i’m huge,” you cry, “i’m huge.”
he tries not to laugh while peppering kisses over your face, “sweetheart you’re not huge, i don’t think you’re huge.”
“yes you do-oo-oo,” you sob, eddie offering the other patron in the laundromat a tight smile while they stare at the scene, “i’m huge and i’m sweaty and i’m hot and i just want my chex mix.”
“okay, okay,” he nods, holding your face in his hands. he nuzzles your nose with his while you start to calm down, “i’m gonna get you your chex mix.”
“and a cherry slush,” you say with a sniffle.
“and a cherry slush,” he chuckles, giving you a soft kiss, “what does the little guy want?”
you run your hand over your belly, both of you looking down while eddie puts his hand over yours. when his palm slides over the top the baby kicks, making you scrunch up your nose at the pressure.
“looks like he just wanted his daddy to say hi,” you say quietly while ed’s hand sits warm and firm. he looks up at you while the baby kicks again, his grin of excitement clear to anyone who might walk by and look in through the windows. he picks up the bags after stealing another kiss from you.
“okay princess. chex mix and cherry slush,” he says while you walk to the car. he walks slow so you can keep up, waddling in your sandals.
“and that cookies and cream hershey bar,” you add.
“and the cookies and cream hershey bar,” he repeats, “you bet.”

(eddie munson x pregnant!reader)
Summary: You and Eddie discuss your current pregnancy craving...or, in which you want something not all that common of a craving and ridiculously difficult to get a hold of, and Eddie teases you over it even though you both know he's going to get it for you.
warnings: references to baby making activities.
a/n: those damn tiktoks keep getting to me. lil drabble. more dad!eddie here. masterlist.
Tumblr media
Pregnancy was not something Eddie Munson believed he would ever understand. Wasn’t something he thought he’d have to do.
Until—at the very responsible age of twenty─he took to finishing inside of you and one of his swimmers took. Played hide-and-seek for a good five months before either of you knew she was there.
You hadn’t started showing until about two or three weeks after finding out, and now at almost seven months, you had the cutest baby bump Eddie couldn’t keep his hands off, a ravenous hunger for the most peculiar things and absolutely no tolerance for the weirdest fucking things; the sound of kernels popping made you want to throw up, and so did the scent of baked goods and the ‘air on Tuesdays’ (Eddie was still trying to work that one out).
Whatever you wanted, Eddie got you. Albeit, with tons of questions asked. Like, right now.
It was late in the evening, chilly throughout the trailer but warm in the room thanks to the trusty space heater Eddie had had for years. The both of you had traded your day clothes for pajamas, so you were in one of his t-shirts and nothing else while he was only clad in a pair of sweats because his body temperature always ran a little on the hot side, and you were curled right up to him. Your head had been previously nuzzling into the crook of his neck, placing kisses over the tendons there and nosing along his jaw but now it was craned back, batting those pretty eyelashes up at him with pleading eyes and a pout.
  “Pleeeaaaaase, Eddie?”
“Branzino.” Eddie repeated your request with amused disbelief.
“It’s low in mercury, so I can eat it.”
  “Branzino.”
“It’s what she wants!” You chirped, moving a hand to rest over your growing bump. Baby Munson, your little Penny, had recently learned she had legs and could stretch them out in there. Despite the two of you settling down, she seemed to be filled with energy; you could feel her moving around, targeting certain areas with her kicks. She’d been pretty still for a good hour or two so you thought she might have woken up from a nap.
“Yeah?” Eddie asked, quirking his brows with lidded eyes, so engrossed with how caring you were for his baby already.
Witnessing you go from awkwardly acknowledging her existence with a pat or uncertain conversation to almost always having a hand over your bump, as if to protect her from a threat while talking to her as though she was already cradled in your arms, had Eddie always so tender with emotion.
He was so proud and in love.
You hummed in confirmation and when Eddie’s hand moved your (his) shirt up, you immediately grasped his wrist to place his palm over the area your baby’s foot was currently pressing up against. Eddie grinned as he felt the movement just under the warmth of your skin, firm and held surprisingly long before it retreated and he rubbed over the area as you relaxed further into him.
“She was stretching.” He correctly deduced.
“Mhm, she’s been kicking the heck out of my ribcage, so I think her head is right here.” You placed your free hand over your bump, just under your left breast, “She only got active after we showered, so she just woke up.”
Eddie felt a little guilty about that, it had probably been him railing you against the shower wall that stirred her from her slumber.
“Sorry, sweet pea.” He mumbled, continuing to rub your belly if not somewhat more apologetic, “I’m just so excited that I can’t get your mom pregnant right now, ‘cause we already have you, and she’s just so horn—“
Eddie laughed as you delivered a swift whack to his chest with the back of your hand, fighting a smile as he teased you through an attempt to talk to your baby.
“Excuse me, you were the one trying to feel me up on the couch!”
“No, I did feel you up. And if I recall correctly, which I do, it was my fingers you were cum—“
“Distracting!” You pointed an accusatory finger in his face, booping the tip of his nose with it, “You’re trying to distract me. Branzino.”
“Ugh,” Eddie sagged into the pillows, but the smirk on his face told you you’d be getting exactly what you wanted, like always. He just liked to give you a hard time. Banter with you was like foreplay to him. “Alright, alright. Since you must have your fish dish─”
“I must,” You placed the back of your hand against your forehead as you fell dramatically back into the pillows.
  “And since she’s craving it─”
“She wants branzino so badly and I’d get it for her myself but I’m utterly exhausted─no, not because we had sex,” You had immediately clocked the grinch like twist in his smirk at your mentioning of exhaustion, “I’ll have you know I probably made a good chunk of her brain today. That takes energy. Dedication. And she probably sucked the bone marrow out of me to do it, or something.”
Eddie threw his head back and howled with laughter. You giggled along with him but tried to reason, “Okay, I’m not being completely dramatic, though! She really does steal some of my own body to make hers! I could lose my teeth, Eddie. I read it in a book.”
The bed shook with how hard Eddie was laughing and you delighted in being the reason behind it. Once he calmed down, his head lulled to the side, cheeks red from all that amusement and warm brown hues focused on you.
“You read it in a book, huh?”
  “Yup.”
  “Ask your doctor about it?”
  “Nope.”
  “Why not?”
  “…’Cause I’m scared she’ll say it’s true.”
You sent Eddie into another laughing fit. When he was done with that one, he launched himself out of bed and you snuggled into the spot he’d occupied—so warm and cozy—to watch him grab a shirt and hoodie from the closet, and his jacket from where he’d thrown it on the dresser. A beanie was shoved on his head and as he wrapped the scarf you’d gotten him around his neck, he eyed you with mirth twinkling in his pretty eyes.
“Branzino in the middle of winter.”
  “It’s what she wants!”
“It’s what she wants.” He conceded with a fond smile, “I’ll be back after like an hour and a half of driving around to find a Greek place open so you can replenish your bone marrow with it somehow and grow the rest of her brain.”
You hummed in appreciation, beaming at him as he neared you to lean over and get a thorough kiss goodbye.
“Thank you,” You mumbled shyly against his mouth.
“You don’t have to thank me . . . but you’re welcome.” He teased.
Driving around in the cold didn't seem all that terrible with you blowing him kisses from the bed, and his baby growing inside you.
That damn fish was so worth it.

build me up, buttercup |dad!rockstar!eddie munson x mom!nepo baby!reader|
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
prompt: you and eddie are planning a baby shower to welcome in your first baby, persephone. or how the girl's flower themes are born.
a teeny tiny blurb that i'm excited to share. follows the lore than each of the girls have their own flowers, and this is how persephone's came to be <3 hope you enjoy!
contains: pure fluff. honestly just cutesy shit. language. pregnant!reader.
"I just want something bright." You hum, swaying gently to soothe your sore, aching joints. Your ring dazzled in the bright light pouring in from the open windows, smoothing over the swell of your stomach.
"Is there a specific color, Mrs. Munson?" The timid event planner asked, spreading out swatches of bright yellows, powdery blues, pastel pinks. "If we start with a color, maybe that would help narrow down the options?"
"I don't know." You frowned, a swell of frustrated tears bubbling to life in your chest. You didn't know, and you hated that you didn't know. It was your baby shower, you wanted it to be perfect.
Eddie's spine straightened, eyes cutting to you carefully. He sensed the tears, the irritation of feeling overwhelmed and frustrated, all threatening to come out the only way they knew how to. He'd been on the receiving end of too many of those fits. His hand found your thigh, squeezing it gently, thumb rubbing soft circles over your soft flesh, a desperate attempt to soothe.
"You're wanting flowers, right? That's the main theme." Your assistant, Natasha, a complete saint in disguise. With pregnancy brain and hormones, you were sure you'd never make it without her. "Do you have options for a floral theme?"
"Yes," The planner squeaked, thumbing through her briefcase of photos, swatches, notes.
Eddie felt you tense, your hand rubbing over your stomach in slow circles, huffing in defeat. "Hey, could you give us a second, Nat?" Eddie hummed. "Just give us one sec to look and kinda talk."
"Of course. Let's take a little break. I'll go get some tea." Natasha gave you both a small smile, padding to the kitchen the event planner following closely behind.
Your sigh, heavy and huffy, echoed off the walls. It made Eddie cringe gently, pulling the flower pictures closer to the two of you. "What about this one? Nice and pink for ya." Eddie held the small sample photo up to you, filled with sweet peas and hydrangeas, obnoxiously pink.
"Yeah," You muttered, lips still puffed in a pout. "I don't even know if I want pink anymore."
"Blue?" Eddie grinned lightly. "Trick everyone into thinking it's a boy incase there's a leak." He cringed when your breath hitched, eyes wide in horror.
"I'm kidding, baby." Eddie added quickly. "No one's gonna leak. We're keeping it intimate."
"Yeah, right." You sighed. "My mom and dad will bring all these people I barely even know."
"And I'll tell them to leave." Eddie's chest puffed, spine straightening. "I'm serious. They're not on the list, they can fuck off, alright? Goes for Victor and Tana too. Not gonna let them upset you."
The small smile you gave him felt like a standing ovation, a victorious win after a grueling, hard day. Filled his chest with warmth, hand squeezing yours lightly.
"If there's even a shower to kick them out of." Your smile fell just as quickly as it came, shoulders slumping with them. "Can't even pick a theme."
"We'll get it. C'mon," Eddie's calloused fingertips tickled your jaw, lifting your gaze to his. "Don't be like that, sweetheart."
"I can be like that if I want to." Your voice teetered on the edge of a whine, the hinting of a cry. "I can't even make a decision about a baby shower theme. How am I going to make a decision about a baby?"
"Stop that." Eddie shook his head, voice dropping to a soft coo. "Two totally different things, baby. Not even comparable." It was rational, firm but soothed your bundles of nerves. You both had your own worries, fears about parenthood- fear of the unknown that was creeping closer and closer.
"Here," Eddie stood, chains hanging from his jeans jingling with every heavy step towards the shelves on either side of the television, lined with books.
Eddie's fingers danced over the spines, until he found the book. Still new, no cracks in the spine or bent pages, a gift from Farrah when you told her the baby's name. "I saw it at this bookstore in Amsterdam. I had to get it." She'd squealed, giving you the book with a title that your baby shared- Persephone.
Eddie had been more elated than you, reading it front to back more than once. Reading it to you at night, eyes lighting when he'd read something interesting.
"I think I saw somethin' in here." Eddie sank back down beside you on the couch. "Just an idea."
You curled into him, knees tucked under you, head on the soft, worn material of his t-shirt. His cologne, a faint smoky smell of a cigarette- you could feel your body relaxing, intoxicatingly calm.
Calloused fingertips thumbed through the pages until he found the page he was looking for, lips parting in a soft, triumphant hum. "Look," Eddie tilted the page towards you, fingertip tracing the small etching of a flower. "Says there's some history behind this flower and Persephone."
You titled your head, eyes scanning over the text.
"In the Homeric Hymn to Demeter, Earth Goddess Gaia produced the yellow petaled Narcissus specifically to enchant Persephone. Now, this early blooming flower is seen as the harbinger of Spring, announcing Persephone's ascent to the surface."
"Interestingly, for all it's association with rebirth and new life with Spring, the bulb is highly toxic?" You frowned, head tilting up towards Eddie.
His lips curled in a wide, excited grin, eyes shining with gleaming pride. "That's fucking cool, isn't it?" Eddie beamed.
Heat blossomed in your chest, dissolving the feeling of frustration and fear, and blooming with something lighter. Soothing and happy, spreading through your chest all the way to your cheeks.
"That is pretty cool." You nodded, scanning the table for a yellow swatch. "We could do like a yellow and white kinda theme, right? That would be neutral in case it did get leaked."
Eddie gave a small eye roll. "It won't get leaked." He muttered, setting the book to the side. "But, yeah, neutral but still bright."
"Make the narcissus the main flower. Maybe add baby's breath and something else..." You muttered, pulling the swatches in front of you. Eddie's chest boasted, watching your small frown on your features, determined instead of frustrated now.
"Do they keep?" You turned to Eddie. "Like, they won't wilt or be gross, right?"
"Buttercups? Nah, they'll keep." Eddie shook his head gently. "Used to pick them for my mom all the time when I was little. She'd keep 'em in a vase and some water, and they'd stay forever."
Your heart swelled, a dull ache behind his words. Even now, married and expecting a baby, Eddie rarely spoke about his mother. Every small detail he'd share, you'd guard protectively in your thoughts, wanting to remember every detail you could.
"Ok," You nodded, a small sigh of relief. "Let's do that then."
You groaned, pushing off the back of the couch, Eddie's hands quickly finding your waist to help you stand. "Will you go get them? I have to pee, and I'll be right back."
Weeks later, Eddie was sure he'd never seen so many shades of yellow- so many flowers in his life. Your family's Malibu home transformed to a bright, floral baby shower of your dreams. Buttercups at every arrangement, starred prominently in bustles of baby's breath and tiny white daisies. All the guests even in various shades of yellow, shining brightly under the California sun.
Eddie managed to sneak a bouquet after the party, when you'd gone to lay down and the staff was cleaning up. He'd handed it to Natasha, sent it with her to get pressed and framed, until it found it's new home in the nursery.

𝚟𝚒𝚛𝚐𝚒𝚗 𝚖𝚊𝚛𝚢
𝚗𝚘𝚝𝚎𝚜 i edited some of this in tumblr so if anything is wonky let me know
𝚠𝚊𝚛𝚗𝚒𝚗𝚐𝚜 pregnant reader, reader is really struggling like fr, eventual smut just not in this chapter, slowwwww burnnnn, eating, slight angst
𝚜𝚞𝚖𝚖𝚊𝚛𝚢 eddie moves to another dingy little town in south carolina and works at a dingy little grocery store where he meets you! a pregnant twenty something year old.
𝚌𝚑𝚊𝚙𝚝𝚎𝚛 𝚝𝚑𝚛𝚎𝚎
“Late night, huh?” You asked, pushing yourself off the wall. You’d been waiting outside of the Piggly Wiggly for at least an hour, too scared to actually go inside.
“It’s only nine,” Eddie responded, not meeting your eyes. He headed straight for his van, ignoring you as he tried to unlock it. You trailed after him.
“Eddie I’m,” you hesitated. “I’m sorry, you know.”
He didn’t respond.
“Do you wanna come over to mine? I made good tips today, so we could order pizza?”
You knew he was picking up on the hopeful lilt in your voice, and you crossed your fingers you didn’t come off as too desperate.
“Depends. You gonna yell at me some more?”
“No Eddie—I just feel terrible about what I said and I wanna make it up to you.” You sniffled, and he finally looked over at you.
“Oh, shit. No, don’t cry, c’mon don’t cry.” He finally broke, turning to look at your glassy eyes. He knew the only way to calm you down was to agree.
“I'll come but only if we get stuffed crust.”
Your lips curved into a soft smile as Eddie nodded his head towards the van, telling you to get in.
He paused before turning the key in the ignition. “Where’s your car?”
“Had to take the bus, my car wouldn't start this morning,” you grumbled, remembering the long walk from your house to the bus stop.
He cringed at the thought of you taking the bus.
“I could take a look at it for you. Used to work at an auto shop back in Indiana.”
Even more guilt festered in your stomach, you were such a jerk to him yesterday yet he was still offering to help you out. You were in no place to refuse the offer, though.
“Yeah, that’d be alright. Thank you.” You said meekly.
“Hey, Eddie?” You asked about halfway through the silent drive. “Why are you so nice to me?”
He shrugged, lifting his fingers off the steering wheel for a moment. “I used to be alone, too. But, these kids and their friends saw that and helped me when I really needed it. And I'll never really forget that, I guess.”
“How did you know I was alone?”
“I didn’t say—You just seemed—I don’t know.” He sighed.
Eddie wouldn’t tell you but he had a knack for spotting people like himself. He could just feel it. Remembering how he felt some odd years ago, he never wanted anybody else to feel the same way. He didn’t pity you, though; He mostly just thought you were pretty.
You didn’t ask any more questions, you assumed you were already on thin ice.
“Just turn left up there and I’m the last one.”
It was a pale yellow house with lots of overgrown greenery.

“Oh, shit. No, don’t cry, c’mon don’t cry.”
Eddie realized the only way to stop your crying was to agree, as much as he was still hurt.
“Can we get pepperoni?”

Eddie wouldn’t tell you but he had a knack for spotting people like himself. He could just feel it. Remembering how he felt some odd years ago, he never wanted anybody else to feel the same way. He didn’t pity you, though. He mostly just thought you were pretty.
You didn’t pry any further, you assumed you were already on thin ice.
“Just turn left up there and I’m the last house on the street.”
It was a pale yellow house with lots of overgrown greenery. The cracked concrete outside had dandelions going through it that almost matched the paint on your house. House was generous, though. It wasn’t quite trailer but it wasn’t quite house either.
It smelled overwhelmingly like you, and Eddie almost fell to his knees on the spot. He stood in the entryway, taking it all in.
The living room was crowded with stacks of books and shelves crammed with records. The kitchen countertops were an ugly greenish-blue, but he loved it. It reminded him of his old home.
“Sorry for the mess, wasn’t really planning on showing up at your job like a stalker to ask you over for pizza.” You smiled timidly at the ground, rubbing your arm.
You gestured towards the couch and Eddie sat.
“What kinda pizza do you want?”
“Just cheese is alright with me,” he smiled. He’d eat anything really, and cheese seemed like it would be the least offensive option for a pregnant stomach.
Eddie watched you dial the number, thinking about you laying down on the couch and talking on the phone, twirling the cherry red chord around your finger.
“I can take a look at your car while we wait?”
“Oh I don’t know Eddie, it’s kinda cold, and—and it’s dark. I don’t want you to freeze out there.”
He scoffed, rising to his feet. “Nonsense! Indiana winters will freeze a man’s balls off. This is nothing, and I have a flashlight.”
Of course he did, Eddie seemed to be an adventurer at heart.
And you did feel bad sending him out into the chilly night air, but you really couldn’t manage another mile walk to the bus stop. It was barely winter anymore, anyways.
He looked all too comfortable swinging open your front door and popping the hood of your car.
You watched him through the window as he flung open the doors to the back of his van and trifled through a bag of something. He returned to your car, doing god knows what for another ten minutes. He turned back towards your house, catching you staring through the blinds. You quickly pulled them shut, finding something to make yourself look busy.
“The battery is dead,” he told you as he came back inside. “But I know a guy.”
Eddie knew every guy, probably. It was a small town, and Eddie had the best weed, amongst other things.
Your brow furrowed and you pulled your lip between your teeth, and Eddie could practically see you mentally calculating how much that would cost.
“Hey, it could’ve been a lot worse.” Before you could argue, there was a knock at the front door and Eddie was racing to get it, twenty dollar bill in hand.
“Eddie!” You squawked. “It’s supposed to be my treat!”
You heard him mumble keep the change before he faced you with a sickeningly sweet grin.
It was clear he’d already forgiven you, how could he not when you looked so sweet standing there in your cotton dress and your slouchy white socks. Besides, it was just him. For the first time in his life, he had plenty of money and nothing to do with it. The grocery store paid well and he’d basically cornered the market in town.
“I could’ve paid, you know.”
Eddie knew, but he decided he would never let you pay for something for him.
“C’mon sweetheart, keep up all this whining and the pizza is gonna get cold.”
You begrudgingly took the box from his hands and brought it to the kitchen, grabbing two plates from the cupboard.
“Where are your tapes?” Eddie asked, beginning to rummage around the cabinets in the living rooom.
“They’re just under the tv.”
Then you were balancing the pizza, plates, and somehow two glasses of water all at once, carefully making your way to the couch. Eddie met you halfway, halting you with a gentle woah there, and grabbing a glass from your hand and the other from where it was tucked between your chest and arm.
“Is water alright?” You asked, suddenly all too close to him for comfort. Eddie cleared his throat and took a step back.
“Got any beer?” He asked before he could think. You both froze at the same moment, but then your glorious laugh was breaking the silence.
“I do, actually.” You set the pizza on the coffee table.
“My uh—he, uhm, he left some in the fridge. They’re old but, well, I’m not actually sure if beer can turn bad, but—”
You were rambling and Eddie was seething just a little. He couldn’t stop himself. “He?”
“Well, Eddie. I’m no virgin mary.”
That was true, but he didn’t see any he around. And he’s sure you wouldn’t have let him around you so much if there was a he.
“He doesn’t live here anymore, anyways.”
He couldn’t help it, he really couldn’t. “Where is he?”
Eddie was never one for discretion.
“Somewhere in Georgia, last I heard,” you called from the kitchen
You leaned down to grab Eddie a beer from the bottom shelf of the fridge, opening it and letting the bottle cap clatter on the kitchen counter.
“Enough of that,” you gave him a fake smile as you returned to the couch, shoving the beer in his direction.
Eddie could tell you didn’t like the topic, and he was done pushing.
“Do you like this movie?” Eddie changed the subject.
You glanced towards the tv to see The Shining flashing on the screen.
You hummed affirmatively.
“Yeah, but I hate Stanley Kubrick’s little prick daughter.”
Eddie snorted, nearly spitting his beer out all over his white t-shirt. When he looked over at you, you were smiling bashfully, like you were thankful he laughed.
It was bliss after that; you and Eddie silently watching the movie and polishing off an entire large cheese pizza.
It was nice having somebody around again, this time somebody you felt comfortable around. You could actually feel your shoulders gradually ease of tension the longer you sat with him. You couldn’t even remember the last time you’d spent time with somebody like that.
You were heartbroken when he had to leave.
“I’ll see you, I guess?”
For some reason, you felt it in your chest you’d never see him again, that after a few hours of hanging out with you he’d realize how pathetic you were and leave.
“Tomorrow. What time do you work tomorrow? I’ll pick you up, then after we’ll get your car to the shop.”
“I work the morning shift. Don’t you work tomorrow?”
He shook his head with a grin. “Nope.”
“Alright then, tomorrow.”
You shut the door softly, feeling your heartbeat finally return to its normal rhythm. Tomorrow.
You nearly squealed.
