Sometimes I wonder if we give Martin a little too much credit, especially when we talk about the girls and women of ASoIaF. Don’t get me wrong, they are good characters. They are. But do I think 1996 Martin sat down and decided to write stories for women that really deconstructed or analyzed what it meant to be a woman? No, not really. He certainly could have decided to go that route by now since its been 20-some odd years later and there is a set up for it, but I doubt that is what was going down in 1996 when he started.

Arya is a really good example of this. There is meta on top of meta about how important class is and how it plays into how women are treated in Westeros. All of that is valid. And it is there in the text. But I don’t think Martin was thinking in-depth when he had Arya cook. I don’t think he thought about when she looked after Weasel either. It was just something that she would be doing.

And it is similar to the interactions with the sex workers. We see commentary on how sex workers are treated in this world, but it never really comes from Arya or other women. Which is weird considering the fact Arya interacts with the girls at The Peach, becomes friends with Merry and her girls, is probably going to frame the woman on the dock for murder in Mercy I in TWoW and has some fascination with the Courtesans (still weird she’s in Braavos and doesn’t going looking for other water dancers to watch). I understand that because she is 11, there is only so much Arya is going to think about but you have great commentary in her chapters about class and survival and the horror of war in her chapters that isn’t explicitly said. Why can’t the same be done here?

Something I've been thinking about recently.

Caretaker and Whumpee have been friends for awhile. With caretaker often being the mom friend, reminding whumpee to not overwork themselves and such. Whumpee has always found caretaker a sholder to cry on.

But Caretaker notices Whumpee isn't doing ok. They soon learn Whumpee is being threatened by Whumper, someone that they knew in the past. Caretaker and Whumpee come up with a plan to stop Whumper, but it doesn't go well, whumpee and Caretaker split up, with Caretaker chasing after Whumper. A few hours pass and they get a text from whumper "This isn't what we agreed on you giving me, but I'll take your new offer." Attached to the text, a picture of Caretaker, brusied and unconscious.

Now Whumper uses Caretaker as blackmail, everytime Whumpee messes up, is late, trys to find them, ect. Caretaker takes the punishment and a photo is sent to Whumpee. (To be continue)

Danny was a stillborn, and Maddie made a deal with a Devil to give her baby a soul so he could live.

But the Devil couldn't really like, make a wholeass new soul for this. He could grab one of the ones he owned, but that'd just be putting an adult in an infants body, and that whole thought kind of weirded the Devil out.

So, he compromised.

He had a piece of the Laughing Magicians soul, and he just kinda.

Shoved that into the baby corpse.

And holy shit it worked, the kid took it.

Which, awesome! He gets the lady's soul and the kids when it's matured!

Except that was fifteen years ago, and now said Devil is desperately trying to get into contact with Constantine to cancel the deal they signed and agreed to.

Cuz that little baby?

Yeah he's the High King of the fucking Infinite Realms; a being that can not only cancel said contract, but do it and declare the Devil who made it guilty of Treason.

So he needs to find the Laughing Magician fucking yesterday, before the kid looks too closely at why his soul is so weird and figures it out.

soooo i've been real busy this past month and change working on this monster of a painting! it was originally for the GO Ref library study club but clearly took much longer than i anticipated😅

for those of you who don't recognize it, this is based on one of my favorite historical paintings, Judith Beheading Holofernes (1620) by Artemisia Gentileschi. i love the Baroque period and this painting (as well as her other works) makes me insane. here it is Good Omens style so maybe all of you can be insane with me <3
