Maybe this is me being bitter because of 10+ moves in my childhood but I'm always a bit disappointed and see it as a cop-out when children's shows tease the main family moving and then don't follow through

Laughter fills the kitchen of Going Merry as Usopp tries to fit another cupcake in his mouth.

You watch as Sanji shakes his head disapprovingly,Nami sharing a disgusted look with Zoro who's smirking slightly. And Luffy-

Monkey d. Luffy. The boy you grew up with and loved since the very beginning. The boy who dreamed so big even when he was small;the boy who became your captain.

And now,the boy who became your boyfriend after a tiny peck and shy confession on your part. But as you watch him stuff a donut in his mouth; seemingly competing with Usopp,you cant help but to wonder if you've made the wrong decision.

What if Luffy didnt even know how relationships work? What if he thought your confession was referring to being his best friend or something along those lines?

The thought has you stomach twisting and you gently push your plate away. Sanji,of course notices and shifts his attention to you.

"is the food not to your liking?"

You shake your head with a smile and rise from your sit .

"it was lovely as always Sanji. But I'm afraid I'm not hungry anymore."

"then I will wrap this for when you're hungry."

You give him a grateful smile and nod your head.

"thank you,Sanji."

And without looking at anyone else,you silently leave the kitchen.

As you step on the deck,the cool wind hits your face and makes you take a deep breath;it feels refreshing to get some air. The weather is nice,and the sky is clear. You lean against the railing and rest your chin on top of your folded arms and sigh;the stars are twinkling above and although beautiful,your heart clenches painfully. Your thoughts are dark just like the night sky and you feel tears burning your eyes and you push your face in your sleeves.

You hate this feeling. You hate having to doubt your relationship with Luffy. You hate hate hate, having to think about all these problems alone without any reassurance and a shoulder to cry on.

You hate doubting Luffy,your Captain,and the boy you loved since your childhood days.

The sound of the wind and ocean drowns your first sobs as your tears soak your sleeves,and you crumble on the floor with you head between your knees. You needed comfort,you needed Luffy.

You're so lost in your own thoughts that you dont hear the door to the deck opening,nor you hear the footsteps coming closer to you. You're so confused and lost that when a gentle hand lands on your shoulder,you jerk your head up so fast that you cringe at the whiplash you gave yourself.

You come face to face with Luffy,and your eyes widen immediately.

"L-Luffy-?"

"y/n?why are you crying?!" His hands are frantic as he starts looking for any injuries and when he finds none,he takes your face in his hands, "what's wrong?you suddenly left the dinner now you're crying!tell me what's wrong!"

When you look at his brown eyes,and see so much concern in them,you finally break.

Your sobs are loud and painful as your nails push in your skin and you bite your lip hard to keep yourself from letting out a pitiful whimper. Luffy's eyes immediately draw to your lips that are almost bleeding from how hard you're biting them,and with a sad noise he jumps closer to press his lips to yours.

The action has your eyes widening,and you look at how he's squeezing his own shut.

When he pulls away,his thumb brushes against your bruised lips done by yourself,and frowns.

"don't hurt yourself like that. If something's wrong,tell me and I'll fix it. I promise."

"Luffy," your throat dries and your tongue darts out to wet your lips;still slightly dazed from the kiss, "do you even...want to be in a relationship with me?"

Your question has Luffy tilting his head, genuinely confused by it.

"what do you mean?"

"do you," you huff and rub harshly at your eyes. But before you can do any more harm,He wipes your tears with his own fingers softly, "do you even know how relationships work?like... romantically?" You lower your eyes and bite your lips again, "maybe...you misunderstood my confession?"

Luffy stares at you without saying a word,and when you grow uncomfortable and start fidgeting,he suddenly lets out a loud laughter. You pout and smack him on the head.

"why are you laughing?!"

"how could i possibly misunderstand your confession when i know i love you so much?"

His words silence you and your lips part slightly. Luffy smiles and combs his fingers through yout hair, "i might be childish and immature,but i promise you that I'm always serious about my feelings for you."

He leans forward and presses his forehead to yours,and when he rubs his nose against your own,you giggle and look at him from underneath your lashes.

"you mean it?"

"with my life... I'm sorry i made you think otherwise." His fingers lock with yours and he kisses your cheek sweetly, "let me show you how serious i am about our love?"

You kiss his nose and nod.

After that night,you know to never doubt Luffy's feelings for you ever again.

Idk if i'm just crazy but i noticed that there is a pattern with something that Uraraka does, is punctuated immediately after something Katsuki did before to Izuku and vice versa. I feel like this somehow highlights a difference between their intention and meaning for him. Like i'm sure this might be just a big coincidence but still.

well who knows really! The first thing that comes to mind to me is how Ochako helped Deku when he fell at the beginning, by being on the side/ behind him and using her quirk to avoid it, and Katsuki holding him facing each other, running to get to him faster than the rest -including Iida, whose quirk is literally about that!

But also the whole Deku thing; personally, because the author admitted he didnt intent to have Katsuki as a positive part of Izuku's life at first, I believe the reason for these introductions was clear: Bekugou, his childhood friend, opposes him and creates "Deku" as an insult to put him down, and will always mean that to him, while Ochako, a new friend he meets when starting his hero school, changes it creating something new and fresh so Izuku can have a motivation.

Non supporting VS Supporting. Out of his life VS In his life. Old VS New. Hopelessness VS Hope. Static VS Change.

You name it.

But then the author changes his mind, and Katsuki isn't just the rival anymore, and all of the sudden "Deku" has many layers; "Deku" also means the one that does his best alone, isolated and overworked, and even tho apparently this has shifted since the current chapters...

Slight manga spoilers, not too much tho (I guess??):

idk, Izuku still was ready to get up alone and fight if Aizawa didnt stop him to give him the T-shirt and remind him they are there. He was running alone, and others have to go to him (in this case, Iida) in order to help him, because he is still not asking for help at all.

It has been brought up again, the meaning Ochako gave it, and im not 100% sure if this is her remembering, Izuku, or the three of them -probably the last one? Iida seems to understand now what Ochako meant back then, and they see it in a positive light (which was the intention!), but for Izuku doing the best can mean many things. What's the best he can do? Act like All Might was his first answer, but that didn't work. Saving others? He knows heroes should do this, but with how unclear things are I dont know if he is aware the class would support his decision of saving a villain -after all, as far as we know, he doesn't tell anyone because he wants to share it with someone, but because someone else admitted it first.

Uraraka confessed that first, and showed that vulnerability without knowing how he could react [and honestly, it looked in that moment like she was mainly expressing herself outloud], and after that he ended up also sharing a similar feeling he had about villains and saving. What I mean is that he doesn't say shit unless someone else was vulnerable first.

Ochako wasn't going out to talk to anyone about it either, lets get that straight, but when she was asked by one of her best friends she lets herself be at least a little; she saw Izuku meant something "slightly" different than her, so she doesnt tell him how she envied her genuine smile, her freedom to be herself, love who she loves, or how she thought she was actually cute. She knew it was better to not talk about that because he had no interest in that, so she keeps it to herself knowing she will fight to make sure Himiko hears her this whole thing would be a part of the izuku and ochako meta kjfskjflajflksja

This happened too with Katsuki during their second fight; after Katsuki was emotional and falling apart, confessing such intimate and sad emotions with him, that's when Izuku couldn't help himself and ended up also putting his guard down. And still, he held back a crucial part -he didnt say he acts like him without even trying, and even tho everyone would see it as nasty and bad, he can't hate those things, those parts oh himself, because they are parts of Katsuki, his symbol of victory, what he sees as the best form of heroism. Despite Katsuki explaining he's confused and insecure over his main theme -victory-, and worries about it being not only unworthy but also the reason their idol "ended"... He held back.

He lost because of that.

Its interesting the contrast between those two scenes in terms of emotional vulnerability and reactions, before a war ochako and izuku are much calmer and distant than katsuki and izuku after getting back from a successful rescue. In the first case nothing actually changed between them -im not talking about the nature of the relationship but just the general apparent feelings and status. They are friends who share ideals and common interest before and after the talk, and the only one who was more reflective about it was Ochako who prefers to discuss it with Himiko than him -its more about them anyways. Izuku stays the same, as far as we know, because he thinks she also "just"* felt empathy for someone that was sad and alone, and we can't see this affecting him or shifting something between them.

His emotional moments with Katsuki? They do change everything every time -when he said he was going to be a hero, when they start to get closer, after the war "Deku" becoming "izuku", embracing what makes the other great, etc.

*Its a huge deal and really important, im not trying to minimize his motivations or ideas, just point out how their feelings and conflicts are different and similar -at this point we don't see Midoriya admiring Shigaraki in any way thru this whole story. The manga hasn't ended and he is unreliable, so maybe im wrong and he admires qualities about him he learns later on, but right now for me Izuku wants to bring him support because he is a human and nobody should get treated like he was.

Ochako and Katsuki also have different roles in his rescue, with him bringing him back to them and her showing everyone he is a boy that needs help. Izuku was moved by both actions, and thanks to Uraraka he gets to the shelter.

Their fight was also interesting! Ochako was thinking about winning this, yet she tried to follow Izuku's ideas and lost after trying something way too risky for her, because she ended up ignoring her own judgement and limits out of insecurity and admiration; when Katsuki tries to use his strategies in the wars tho, he is able to achieve what he wanted -he saves Izuku from getting stabbed, saves All Might from getting crushed by AFO, before dying he gets to weaken some parts of Shigaraki's body for the rest to use, etc.

Its not that he loses himself, he just tries something new that works for him, and im happy Ochako ended up realizing she needs to keep in mind what she needs and wants when taking inspiration from Midoriya. Even if similar, their feelings for "their" villains are different, and that's okay.

Katsuki now doesnt call him Deku unless he refers to his hero name, and prefers to use his first name while Ochako keeps using Deku-kun when talking to him or says directly his full name like in her talk with Himiko where she explains some parts of her life.

Even if "Deku" comes from "Izuku", the latter is closer, new for them, a little challenging at times, and shows respect, recognition and reaffirms his humanity over his heroism. "Deku-kun" sounds like "you can do it", a supportive name that comes from a misunderstanding from the beginning, and keeps getting used as she hasn't change her perspective about him in that way. He is still Deku-kun to her, but now Izuku to him.

Change VS Static.

ok here we go what i want to say is. shauna saying she’s all about living in the moment is completely tragic, not only because the moment she’s living in is pregnant, stuck in the wilderness, sitting in a meat locker talking to her best friend’s body, guilt eating her alive bcus she knows her cruelty helped kill jackie. that’s all tragic enough. but the real tragedy is that she never leaves that meat locker not really. she wants to live in that moment and she does. for the rest of her life. she’s stuck in there, haunted by her dead best friend, who she hated so much she helped to kill her, who she loved so much she has to consume her entirely spirit and, quite literally, flesh! jackie’s there in the club and on the bridge and in her preserved childhood bedroom she’s in so many of shauna’s choices. that’s what’s most interesting about it, is so many of shauna’s actions lack maturity almost as though she could only pretend to grow up she’s got this veneer of responsibility and respectability and maturity but she’s still stuck with jackie at 17 so it’s all an act. the nightclub the jumping off the bridge in your underwear having sex in a car the mini golf game without even the thought hitting a ball out of the park might hurt someone bcus teens just. don’t always forward think that way. even the motivation for having her affair!!! she thinks jeff is having one so she has one to even the scales, to tip back the balance of power. this is a direct parallel to why shanua began sleeping with jeff when she was a teenager. jackie had all the power and shauna wanted to take some back for herself so she slept with her boyfriend and made him say i love you even if he didnt mean it. in both cases its shauna saying if you poke me ill poke you which is such a childlike reaction. this is all really obvious in jackie’s bedroom on her birthday bcus jackie herself emphasises it in this weird scene where you have adult shauna acting like teenage shauna and teenage jackie acting like an adult jackie that never got to exist. shauna is the one who has aged she’s the adult but she jumps to being defensive and is so quick to let jackie absolve her of blame vs jackie who hasn’t aged at all but talks like an adult ‘yes it was your fault but we were kids and it was horrible’. we!!were!!kids!! but jackie is STILL a kid and yet she has an insight into the situation that shauna is still grappling with because she’s still in that moment, the one in the meat locker, eaten up by guilt and grief, talking to her best friend’s body. and she’s still, in so many ways, 17. the fact this more adult version of jackie with her younger face is just an invented version of her that lives in shauna’s head makes it all the more sad.

So what's your opinion on Tripitaka/Sanzang?

A lot of people tend to write him as abusive. Granted the fillet was messed up. Though a lot of people tend to forget that he was only human. Not just that but he was surrounded by confirmed human eaters, I mean Ao Lie wasn't confirmed but I'm pretty certain he ate people too.

This doesn't also consider the fact that Tripitaka was sheltered his whole life, had a complicated and convoluted family, and was basically shoved into this journey with no warnings whatsoever.

My hc for Tripitaka was that he was a sheltered, neurotic, mess surrounded by ex-convicts.

He falls so often for dirty tricks and traps partly because he doesnt *want* to believe that there's so much evil in world. He's human compassion personified.

He probably thought that the fillet was given to him for a reason, no matter how messed up it was as essentially being a shock collar for SWK. But tbf SWK did pretty much tell Tripitaka that he'd kill him if he p-d him off enough. Sooo the monk has reasonable doubt.

A huge aspect of Jttw is that Tripitaka became almost a fatherly figure to Wukong - someone who was willing to geniunely guide his emotions. But Tripitaka was also 20-something human parenting a 1k+ monkey demon. He didnt have books or experience to tell him how to deal with SWK getting murder-y on bandits, or even emotionally tackle the possibility of SWK killing an innocent person.

However from an outside observer (i.e, Macaque), Tripitaka looked like an unreasonable man holding the key that imprisoned a hero just to keep a moral high-ground. If Tripitaka had *known* of Macaque ahead of the deception, then likely would have welcomed the other monkey to the pilgrimage with open arms.

Ofc Macaque would rather die than join some "worthless" holy mission that kept his best friend/mate away from returning home and to him. So...

In the end, Tripitaka *tried* and that meant the world to Wukong.

But the existance of Tang in the present suggests an interesting contradiction to Tripitaka's ending...

Tripitaka was meant to be the *last* Golden Cicada incarnation... unless someone he did/or felt that he did led to him not obtaining enlightenment.

Maybe the monk felt guilt for Macaque's passing? For the pain that could have been spared if he'd just trusted Wukong's judgement? The demons that he could have redeemed rather than let be killed?

Perhals in shedding his mortal form as a cicada does his childhood shell in Chapter 98; Tripitaka may have decided that he still needed some time to "grow up" so to say. His presence at Red Son's ritual many years on suggests that he atleast stays in the mortal realm for some time.

And maybe keep an eye on the next generation, unlike real life cicadas are unable to.

Tldr: Tripitaka is a fascinating character, (especially to a high-empathy, bad-with-detecting-lies autistic person like myself) and its way too easy for writers to interpet him as an abusive jerk when in reality he was just trying to be a good person and survive whilst surrounded by so much danger and corruption.

"love? i brought you some fruit." the study doors opened and the room was now filled with the scent of fresh fruit and your boyfriends voice.

"thank you seongie, you didn't have to." you say looking up at him feeling guilty.

"i thought you might need some, you've been in here for 4 hours now, don't you want to take a break?" you lightly chuckle.

"i don't know, i mean im almost done with writing my draft for this week"

you thought that being an author would been easy since it was something you always wanted to do, theres some days where your cooped up in the study and some days where you dont write for nearly a week. sometimes writing a romance novel is worse than an action novel, the plotline, character development, everything its too much, and seonghwa notices that.

"y/n, thats why its called weekly drafts. you're supposed to finish it in a week, not a day. your overworking yourself, just please lets take a break?" seonghwa says tucking a strand of hair behind your ear.

i mean an hour break wouldn't hurt right? you think to yourself as you push up of your chair to stand.

"just for a little bit okay?" you say while seonghwa smiles. "but not anything tiring love."

seongwha takes your hand and pulls you out the study and hands you your favourite hoodie and earmuffs.

"does a midnight stroll sound good?' he asks.

walking hand in hand around han river, is most definitely the break you needed. the sound of crickets and the leaves blowing, it was relaxing.

"should we make a stop at a convenience store?" seongwha said swinging arms as you held hands. "hmm? i think i could do with something to drink" you smiled.

at the convenience store you and seongwha bought your ultimate favourite childhood drink, ramune.

bleggh.. "i dont remember it tasting like this you" said laughing. seongwha pulled his face as he drunk from the bottle.. "i think they.. cough .. changed the recipe" you both burst out in laughter. the laughter continued as seonghwa had hiccups and could barely speak a sentence without being cut off "should we.. hiccup.. get some rice crack..hiccup..-ers?"

you were almost on the floor in tears. upon leaving the store you noticed that there was a claw machine outside that had hello kitty and dear daniel, the most iconic sanrio couple other than kurmoi and badtz maru. you decided to quickly pull out some coins and try to win the plushies.

"should i help you darling?" seongwha said coming up behind you and placing his hand on yours. his hands were cold, but you didnt hate it. he used his hand to guide yours to the bag that hello kitty and daniel were inside, and within seconds the coldness of his hands filled yours with warmth. in that exact moment you though over and over again about how much you love seongwha. looking back at the time you first met, it truly was not a coincidence.

you were walking down the busy street of gangnam to get to your book signing event when you accidentally bumped into someone. your ipod played fell to the floor and so did his. you apologised to him and picked up your ipod before beginning to rush again. " excuse me, you have my ipod !" he shouted. you turned around and ran back to him to trade your ipods and laugh at how your both listening to the same song. "i see you like daniel ceasar too" he laughed. you smiled before beginning " i really have to run, but im really sorry about bumping into you, i hope the rest of your day is better" you said getting further away from him.

"but this just made my day the best" he whispered under his breath watching as you disappeared through the crowd, and luckily enough you ran into each other again.

you were taking a bus to gimpo airport in seoul when you sat down in front of him him. he watched over your shoulders as you looked for a song to listen too.

"i suggest best part by daniel ceaser" he said trying his hardest not to look like a creep. you immediately smiled when you saw his face and the ipod in his hands. he was hard not to forget, little studio ghibli stickers on it. "you have nice music taste" you replied putting the song on still smiling. "where are going with a suitcase?" he asked. "oh im leaving to japan for a few days for my book signing event."

"what books have you written, i might have one" he said showing the tote bag he had with him. "well i've written quite a few.." as you go on about the names of the books you've written you watch how his face lights up. "your her? the y/n?" he says shocked. you smile a little embarrassed. "im headed to the airport to get my book signed by you, because i was to late the last time." he said pulling one of your books out.

wow, to think that he would be a fan of yours is unbelievable i mean, he looks sweet, nice hair, gorgeous eyes... as you continued to think about every feature of his you realised just how pretty he was. to call him pretty was even an understatement.

"well i wouldnt mind signing one now.." you smiled lightly.

"actually.. could you also .. um.. could i have your number. not like a fan but i'd really like to get to know you sometime or take you out to dinner." he said getting embarrased and avoiding eye contact.

"id love that."

while in japan you and seongwha texted for hours, sharing the same timezone made it easy as well. and when you got back from japan he picked you up from the airport and took you to that promised dinner date. you talked throughout all the seasons, summer, autumn, winter and spring. the only thing that did change between those seasons were your feelings for eachother and the next thing you knew it was winter 2022 and seongwha and you were outside walking in the snow, planing to go ice skating, when he took your hand in his and spoke, "y/n its cold right?, but im not cold at all, my hands may be cold and so could my face, but my heart is warm and thats because of you. you've made every season have a new meaning behind it, summer used to just be 'summer', but now summer is when i spend my days at parks with you, reading, having a small picnic and when i least expected it. you were apart of more than just seasons, you invaded my everyday life. id walk past a flower shop and notice tulips and buy them out of impulse because they reminded me of you. i'd think of things that reminded me of you, till you were all i thought about. i loved the way your voice echoed through the back of my mind when i missed you most, or when i still felt the lingering kiss you left last winter as an 'accident'. well, if this is an accident i apologise but y/n, i love you, everything about you, would you allow me to be yours?" you would cry if you could, but you were afraid of your tears freezing. "seongie..i'd love that.. i love you" you say sniffiling the tears back. he placed his cold hands on your cheek pulling you in for a loving kiss. "thats not an accident right?" he said. you laughed "no.." and all of a sudden the coldness in his hands turned to warm.

"love?" he called out to you, waking you up from daydreaming. "i got the plushies" he said smiling and holding out the bag to you. you kissed his cheek "thank you seongie, you're too sweet !" you took the bag from him, as well as took his hand yet again. "lets go back?" he hummed a response.

while walking back seongwha suggested you sat down at a bench for a bit.

"y/n love, remember this?" he said pulling out his airpods and putting one in your ear as the melody finally hit you.

you smiled as you turned to face seongwha, stars from the sky reflecting in his eyes. seongwha softly sang along while intertwining his fingers with yours. "what should we have for dinner, sweet tteokbokie or spicy?" you looked at him intently, before leaning over and giving him a soft kiss.

"sweet, id choose sweet anyday"

I don’t know how I missed the fact that padawan’s braid have beads of colours affiliated to their area of study but just learnt that Anakin had both a red and a blue one for piloting and mechanics. Even when he grew up, he still was most attuned to what he knew best from his childhood. And I think it becomes something quite sad when looking at Darth Vader because it’s such a split from what Anakin enjoyed as an infant and until he was a master… it made me quite sad to think on that

if it helps, DV does still get to pilot things he prefers it actually. in the movies he has his personal ship he goes after luke with. in rebels he goes after hera in his ship :) the man is always like “prepare my ship i will go after them myself”

he also got to redesign his suit. (in the comics). after his palps gave him his mark 1 suit which was too weak for vader’s power and disrupted what was left of his agility. so after vader came back from obtaining his new saber, his suit and limbs were pretty banged up. so while he was in his bacta tank, palps was like “i laid out all the shit for you, i know you want to redesign it your way, so here you go.” and vader got to remake everything using the force while inside his tank. it was sick af.

he maintains his hobbies and is still very skilled at them even during his time as darth vader.

being darth vader, he’s simply anakin skywalker uninhibited. sure palps keeps him on a leash, but vader accomplishes what anakin could not. vader is how anakin’s evolved. he’s not that much different, traumatized beyond belief and more finely tuned and such. he detaches himself from his past because its easier to excuse his behaviors, and to let people know he’ll never devolve back into who anakin was trying to be. anakin was the mask. vader is the being in the basement. he keeps palps around cos hes useful, and he cant defeat him without help. which is why any chance he got to overthrow palps he fucking took lmao. his sworn loyalty to palps is a mask.

i didnt know about the beads though, that’s so fucking cute! i love that sm. i didn’t think the beads had any meaning, that they were just part of the culture. to serve a diff purpose is so fascinating to me

I know Geto is like a big sore spote in the whole fandom and i might be a bit insane, but i do love his story specifically because i dont think there is a way to fix it

We are being shown that well, he got really depressed and went into self isolation. In most cases, the best course of action would be to remove him from distress and have time to heal. The issue is that Geto couldnt just leave — he believes he needs to kill curses, and to become stronger he needs to eat them which distresses him further, and if he leaves people will die, and he cant ignore that just to keep himself sane. For a man like him if he head a specific goal to become strong for, i dont think the eating process would have been such a big issue, but we have to have a big distinction that jujutsu sorcerer is, at the end of the day, a profession. You’re not a chosen superhero to save the world. Those growing up in clans may have a worse childhood, but growing up with understanding that yes curses exist its part of nature does make it easier to bear. Which is one of reason why Gojo, even while having all the trauma, didnt have such gripes with reasons or goals — this is a life he was born into.

Thinking of sorcery as more than a job makes you perceive yourself as more of a hero, and heroes are good and just and get recognition. Non sorcerers dont know about them. Geto fell into a trap of doing something for others and despairing. Its easier not to think about that shit when you’re naturally good at it, and you have fun — which is why Amanai situation and Gojo becoming stronger was so bad. Now he went on missions alone, which meant no company to distract him, and now it was no longer all fun shits and giggles, its a job full of tragedies. Considering Gojo was targeted since birth, we can assume he killed people before Toji, death is, unfortunately, familiar to him. Not for Geto — not seeing someone you care about die right before you, and certainly not being that close to death himself. He’s not longer the best at it, and its no longer fun, and he gets no recognition. Tobe precise, those are not bad thinks to want — we all want them. But if you dont get them here he would have been better to ya know. Find another job probably

Like the worst part about this whole thing is that some shit like that would have happened eventually one way or another, they’re not invincible. Childhood would eventually end, and in a way Geto spiraling is inevitable. The system is inherently flawed, and the issue they deal with is cruel. Some jobs are much more dangerous and have a detrimental effect on your mental health — its just that no one thought to give jujustu sorcerers some help, which is another problem. Adding the fact that he’s neither a saviour being thanked by everyone, or a strongest, yeah, he can’t figure out how to do this shit.

In AUs, I do think there are ways he could have handled it. Like if Gojo wasn’tin school, maybe he took his whole education with the clan? Or my au where he’s in a prison realm for centuries? Like yeah, sure, if Geto was the strongest, the only person here, i do think he would have probably felt invaluable. Youre great for your profession, you were born for it, why would you leave?

This may be projecting, but i do think his way of thinking about it is inherently flawed, a very slippery slope. People need a goal, a meaning, but looking for it outward is a sure way to get yourself into a slump, I went through this shit in a nasty manner when everything i did revolved around other people. Basing your decisions on what others would think is an easy way to pretend like its not your responsibility. This is why Gojo tells Megumi to be selfish and this is why during the entrance exams Yaga says that others wont appreciate your actions and you cant base your motivations off others.

Thats the ultimate tragedy, the fact that thinking like Geto did is ridiculously easy. You go into uni on the same course as your friend just to be with them and when something goes wrong your first thought would be that you did that for them, even thought its your life choices and decision. Yeah.

I have no conclusions for you, just some ramblings. I like my Geto mean and fucked up and insecure, makes him so real and relatable as a person.

I think I have survivors guilt but over trauma, not death?

I'm the only one in my immediate family who has not been sexually assulted. My sister and I were groomed by the same man, but it went further with her (and my family kind of dismisses me about it - in my dad's words "I didnt think it affected you that much"). My parents abused both me and my siblings but targetted my siblings more. Most of my friends have been sexually assaulted. Several of my friends have DID or OSDD because of the childhood abuse they faced. One my friends had a close friend that was brutally murdered, and is currently dealing with their family having a health crisis (dementia related stuff). Most of my friends and family are disabled in a way that severely affects them, and while I am also disabled it does not affect me as severely as them.

I know that my trauma is valid. I know that being emotionally abused and neglected was still bad and that I didn't deserve that. I know that I shouldn't compare my disabilities to others. I know that I can't control how I react to trauma. But I can't stop feeling so disgusted by myself for being so affected when my friends and family are suffering so much. They fell down a mountain while I fell down a hill.

I'm going to an inpatient mental ward in a couple of days and I feel disgusted by myself for it, when they need it so much more but can't access it, and I don't know how they can look at me. I know they'd be valid to resent me.

I'm not sure how to get past this. My support system is very small and is made up if these friends and family, and I don't want to share this with them.

I don’t really have any advice. I’m sorry. But I will say that your reality is your reality. And the fact that it could have been “worse” doesn’t change the fact that it should have been better. And you deserved better.

You should absolutely use resources when you can. It’s not your fault others can’t access them. Maybe think of it as taking care of yourself helps you to be a better friend which means you can offer support? I think it’s valid to get help for yourself but when I was struggling, framing it as for someone else made it easier to do.

I understand your mountain/hill comparison but it’s not my favourite metaphor for this sort of situation.

“Someone who drowns in 7 feet of water is just as dead as someone who drown in 20 feet of water.” <- this one is my favourite and I think is a more helpful way to look at this.

Okay I've never actually seen Naruto but from what I know this ship fucking stinks. Sasuke is basically a shitty husband and absent father I think. He treats Sakura like shit and also they had barely any screentime or something Idk thus ship has nasty vibes and it was the first bad canon ship I could think of

i mean if leaving her to raise their child alone for ten years wasnt enough, he does this all while remaining in contact with naruto, his secret lover, and never writing home. he didnt even recognize his own daughter after seeing her for the first time in years. sakura literally had to chase him down while he was recovering from trauma, and only then did she wear him down to the point where he finally gave in to her. sakura at one point compares her attempts to make sasuke love her with her beating the shit out of some guy until he dies

There is non bit of mutual affection in a relationshippy way and yet they are forced to play a couple by the creators. And even with her having a crush since childhood times, the crush is only of superficial nature, about looks and his mysterious broody behaviour. She lets herself be a little to obsessed and self sabotage her own character growth. He never reciprocated her feelings and yet they are forced to marry... And after the marriage they immediately go separate ways, at least he does. Why not, he is not commited to her, not in Love with her. She's just indulging her childhood infatuation and he... He is cold and does not appreciate her. He is absent and neglects her and her child. He is indeferent about her and is annoyed by her. She tried to kill her? A mutual healthy relationship really looks different. She is obsessed and he does not care.

He calls her annoying TWICE and then he knocks her out and just leaves her on a park bench?? I just hate this ship, I don't buy for one second that Sasuke likes Sakura. Not even as a friend.

Sakura's "love" for Sasuke is entirely based on the fact that she thinks he's hot and so cool. That's it. She doesn't even know him but was so weirdly obsessed with him she threw away her best friend and then later on in life was willing to throw away her relationships with everyone she cared for over him. He tried to kill her. He tried to force her to kill someone else. He has zero regard for her. You could put a pink wig on a monkey and the only reason Sasuke might possibly notice is because it isn't screeching "Sasuke-kun!!" at him.

ok so. aesop carl was raised from a young age by a serial killer after his mother died, after said serial killer embalmed his mother alive to 'save' her from a terminal illness. the serial killer, jerry, taught aesop everything he knew. how best to embalm a living person. aesop was taught that this ends a person's suffering, and believes he's doing the world a service by leading lost souls to the afterlife. aesop even embalms jerry after the latter is heavily injured, to end his suffering. aesop then invites himself to oletus manor, for the purpose of leading lost souls to the afterlife and to continue jerry's teachings. when he arrives, aesop finds that he wishes to kill a man named victor grantz for selfish reasons- so victor could be preserved as his "silent friend". however, after the manor is set ablaze by an unknown person known as subject 3-1-4(as of the time of writing), victor rushes inside to prevent any secrets that might have been in any letters from escaping. clearly upset, aesop kills 3-1-4 with the help of a woman named anne lester, and then kills anne shortly after. after all, though neither were suitable to be his "silent friend", aesop still came to the manor with a purpose. aesop then feels that, as his purpose is complete, it's time for his soul to go to the afterlife, and he steps into the blazing building. people either treat aesop like an uwu sensitive baby who can do no wrong, or as a ruthless sadistic murderer, when he's neither. he's a young man who has been taught wrong and is, for the most part, hurting people he believes he's helping- though he does hurt others for selfish reasons as well. hell, almost everyone in identity v is morally grey in some way, but i think aesop fits being misinterpreted the best.

a man trying to help people end their suffering by killing them bc he was taught that was the right course of action is not to be uwufied or seen as a complete monster like ive seen so much. yes he has anxiety and hes autistic(both canon btw) no that doesnt mean hes a soft baby boy. hes a 21 year old young man who was taught wrong since childhood. but he would still kill the man he has what i can only describe as a massive crush on for selfish reasons bc he was never taught how to make friends

his mom died when he was pretty young, leaving him to be raised by a moritcian who had some Ideals about the world. so aesop, a very young child at the time, believes him when he passes on his ideals to him. the ideals of... being a serial killer. injecting people with embalming fluid to kill them and help them "pass into the next life easier" or some bs like that. eventually his mentor leaves to the manor (the entire premise of identity v is that all these guys are in a manor playing a sick and twisted game). when he comes back hes horribly injured, and in the time he was gone aesop found out that his mothers death was his mentors fault and completely avoidable

...so he kills his mentor when he gets back 👍 he then follows the invitation he found on his body to the manor. there he develops a stalkerish obsession with another participant, victor, because of how bad he wants to kill him. the participants in that specific game werent allowed to talk and mostly communicated through letters, which aesop used to his advantage as he could lie to him much easier and gain his trust. he was good at manipulating him in writing.

then victor died in a fire, meaning aesop didnt get to do his Murder Ritual, this was so devasting and sad that he then also walked into the fire (there was also a plot point with him trying to manipulate one of the other participants into helping him murder the fourth contestant before they died, my memory of the timeline here is a little off though)

also, if this affects your opinion of him, he is canonically autistic

so, while he is a pretty bad person and his actions cant really be justified (he is a literal serial killer), it's hard to ignore that he was literally groomed into being a serial killer from like five years old and literally knew nothing else in his life but this idealogy of killing. he never even had a chance to be independent from his mentor or have an outisde perspective to question his ideals. (another thing i forgot to mention, he was taken out of school pretty soon after enrolling, isolating him even further and taking away his independence) (MOD HERE: LAST FEW BULLETS ARE THE SAME PROPAGANDA)

a few days ago i saw (and reblogged) this fan comic of coryo staying with lucy gray and becoming an old man yelling at birds and in it katniss peeta and gale are together and friends and pulling pranks on that old man who yells at mockingjays and it has not left my mind ever since... like the implications that coriolanus living his life in district 12 instead of becoming president led to the three of them being friends at a young age (they look about 13-15 in the comic)!!!

obviously we know from ballad that it would be a much kinder panem as we know from tbosas that many of the worst facets of the games were snow's ideas or shaped by snow's experience but like... how far does that go? did the games eventually die out as Gaul feared they would due to lack of interest? they definitely didn't have any quarter quells. the games absolutely wouldnt be a spectacle. the taking out more spots in the reaping in exchange for tesserae probably wouldn't exist, we know that was snow's idea, so then there wouldnt be as much divide between classes. lack of monetary prizes would mean less discord between districts too.

maybe katniss and peeta were childhood best friends, becuase her mom and peeta's dad were friends as kids, they wouldnt be separated by class as they were in canon. i imagine katniss and gale's dads still died in the same explosino (i don't really like the theory that it was intentionally blown up because of "rebelling miners"), and they'd probably still meet as they did before in the woods. maybe in this version katniss's mom would have been able to afford the medicine she'd have needed to not be as affected by her depression. maybe her family's wellbeing didnt rest solely on katniss's shoulders, maybe she just hunted for extra food.

did sejanus live? was he the one who helped coryo fake his death or something so he could live with lucy gray? highbottom definitely lived without coryo in the capitol to poison him. also just where in tbosas did canon diverge to get to the end result of old man coryo screaming at birds? was it during part 1, part 2, part 3? did it even diverge before tbosas starts, with dean highbottom tkaing coryo under his wing instead of having beef with a high schooler for something his dad did? idk but ive been thinking about it a lot.
