More than just Katsuki's arc, is Izuku's whole thing -not only he does feel comfort from being able to have that reassurance, he associates them with his strength, his gift, and his determination to save and help others. For him, is the first action towards equality, towards being a hero -wether is one that saves like All Might, like Izuku, or wins like All Might.

He extends his hands towards his friends even when they betray him, towards the enemy in the middle of a war, etc. This is his way of connecting to others, no matter on what level -is that first step, saying "I trust you, and I care enough to give you my hand".

Besides Katsuki's arc being incomplete if he doesn't get them back, Izuku's also needs them, as well as Shigaraki and the rest.

I like the idea of AFO just fucking around with his mind, it wouldnt make sense for the other characters to just not react to that kind of image -ngl, I didnt even think about their faces when reading the leaks! If they were gone for real, then it just looks rushed, like they appeared out of nowhere for no reason and, therefore, are poorly written. Now, they can help him and reassure him AFO's lying, and this isnt the end -because Izuku and Shigaraki both need a support system to fight against him, because even when he is a smart villain, AFO forgot how important emotional connections and people are.

He always thought he can do everything on his own, that he is heartless, but even him feels stronger when he has a person by his side (the expression he is carrying after seeing his brother is not there anymore... I dont even know how to describe it. Its worse than the first time, where he choke Kudou and blamed him).

Izuku isn't losing his arms and here's why:

Okay so I know that we're all freaking out over that one manga panel, but we really shouldn't be.

Deku isn't going to lose his arms. It's all in his head.

Just stay with me.

First and foremost, look at the reactions from the characters when they join the battlefield. Specifically Aizawa:

What about this screams 'one of my students just lost both of his arms and may not end up having a future as a hero anymore?'

You would think that if Hori were to really go through with Izuku losing his arms, he would put more emphasis on the characters' reactions to make it more impactful, right?

To further reinforce this idea, we also need to consider the significance of Izuku's hands in Katsuki's arc. Whether you view their relationship as romantic or not, you can't deny that Izuku's hands holds significance to Katsuki. It represents the time when their relationship first fell apart, and I think in order to call their relationship fully 'healed' and complete Katsuki's growth, he's going to need to accept Izuku's hand again.

I mean, look at how foreshadowed the handhold is. There's no way they're not going to be holding hands by the end of the series. It's a necessity at this point.

And yes, you can argue that they already did hold hands, but to me that handhold didn't seem like the official one. It wasn't as impactful as it could've been. Now, while I'm not saying that the handhold didn't have any emotion to it, I feel like it's impact got a little diluted by Katsuki's revival. It wasn't the main focus. I think that the proper handhold is going to come later and be in it's own moment.

And, I mean, Izuku kind of needs his hands for that to happen.

So now you may be wondering, if Izuku hasn't lost his arms, then how do you explain what's happening to him right now?

Well, like I said earlier, it's all in his head. I think it's AFO fucking around with his mind.

I think AFO is somehow manipulating the vestige world and OFA mental connection he was with Izuku to make him hallucinate that he's lost his arms. He wants Izuku to crumble, and what better way to do that than to convince him that his dream is over and that there's nothing he can do?

I feel like this has also been foreshadowed in a way too. Take a look at this picture:

This image already foreshadowed Ochako getting stabbed in the chest, so perhaps it's also foreshadowing Izuku's fate?

The knife is in his head, so perhaps it's hinting at him being affected psychologically?

Also, the idea that it's only those that are connected to the vestige realm that can see the illusions that AFO is planting would be a great way to get Katsuki to be a part of the final fight too.

We already know that's he's going to be involved somehow. Hori himself said that the ending for mha was going to be better than the ending for Hero's Rising (the one Kats and Izu share OFA), and what better way to improve that than have Katsuki come save him from the mind fuckery?

I also think that finally having Izuku and Katsuki fight side by side has been foreshadowed for a long time, and if that really were to happen, then there's no better time for that than the final fight.

Also, Katsuki's really the only one that can save Izuku right now if my theory were to be true. He's the only character that fits the very specific requirements that Izuku needs (being connected to the vestige realm, and also having a willingness to save/help Izuku).

Speaking of, Katsuki being connected to the vestige realm was a shock for us all, and it doesn't make sense for why Horikoshi would show us such ground-breaking information if he didn't plan on using it later. This has to be the later. There's no other case where I can see Katsuki's connection to the vestige realm being implemented into the story again other than this.

So here's the TL;DR:

Izuku is being mindfucked by AFO and Katsuki is going to be the one that brings him back to reality

I would want to talk about how queer the LoV is -not even talking about romance, but their platonic relationships. The found family, the comfort of knowing you are the worst for society, yet there are these people who look at you and say "it's okay, I'm the same as you".

Yes, kidnapping and hurting others is part of the routine, but its also playing games and living together and healing each other's wounds. Nobody else tries to even look at your hideous figure, and yet. They touch. They listen. They let you close.

Do you let them?

And they were convinced the most important thing in their lives is their pain, their past, their suffering, and revenge on absolutely everyone instead of their present, their happiness, their care. Are they aware of how much the others love them? Are they aware of how much they mean, even when they isolate themselves?

Was Toga unable to use Shigaraki's and Dabi's quirks because they don't know? Because she doesn't know it? Because their hearts are closed, unaware of the treasure it is to be together? Because they have been told "push away, push away, villain", already assuming even them wouldn't matter, wouldn't care?

YOU GET IT

I love this addition bc I didnt understand why wouldnt they appear in any of the frames -yeah, they were in that space before AFO came up, but it didnt feel right to just assume "we stablished in the previous chapter they are important, so there's no need to show them again while he disappears".

The fact the memories shown are from the very beginning and the very end (the war) is also suspicious -there's an in-between, where he made his own decisions, where he meet ppl that, even tho also had to follow AFO's orders and suffered, are his friends, and genuinely love him. A huge part his life actually is missing there, maybe because AFO just thinks and wants him to believe he is nothing -that he is just a helpless child, naive and stupid, or a weapon ready for total destruction in a war, both unaware of the illusion his life is.

It would add so much to the story in a way which actually doesn't ignore who he is beyond and outside of Tenko -imagine reaching out for Tenko Shimura was the start, the spark he needs, for Shigaraki Tomura to actually confront AFO with the love he does currently have with his friends.

Another point to add into the fact that shigaraki isn't Dead/fully disintegrated:

While there are a lot of important memories here presumably being "destroyed" or damaged, there are very important people in shigaraki's mind/life that are missing here:

"It doesn't matter if you stamp out my hatred...even if I wind up hollow..."

These definitely seem like foreshadowing statements.

That even if most of shigaraki is destroyed, the most important people presently in shigaraki's mind/life, at his true inner core, are the ones he won't let go of.

The ones he still needs to be a hero for.

Now running their scam for about 2 months straight, this scammer is known to take their posts from real GoFundMe’s (Examples of used content) and reuse them as their own even going as far as impersonating the real Palestinian who created the original fundraiser. One of the common tactics is that you’ll get their asks if you regularly share Palestine content on your blog. Please check to see how old the pinned post is and see if you find its contents elsewhere if you search part of the post in a preferred search engine. Be aware that the scam accounts listed here are not the owners of any GoFundMe’s and will usually claim they have one pending. Their pfps are almost always images stolen off the fundraisers too.

As of 4/3/2024, here is the current list of scam accounts pretending they are someone in Palestine needing mutual aid:

My thoughts on chapter 418 and 419.

In fact, the first part of this post was written by me long before the spoilers of chapter 419, but it simply was not published. I think it's time to share my opinion.

I saw a post a while ago in which a person complained about some annoying anonymous people who claimed that AFO was nothing more than evil in the flesh and that he had no feelings. This inspired me to write a post about this because I strongly disagree with this opinion.

While this is not a surprise given the AFO flashback chapters, I think people shouldn't take the Narrator's words in these chapters at face value because All for One is the most unreliable narrator I've ever seen. The same Tomura in chapter 418 experiences an identity crisis, because for the first time he began to realize that he was not created for destruction. You can watch the end of chapter 237 where Shigaraki comes to the conclusion that the reason he killed his family was because he really wanted to do it, but that's NOT the case.

This is what AFO convinced him of, repeating over and over again that Shigaraki was born to destroy.

This is what AFO meant when he said in Chapter 418 that Tomura had never made a single independent decision in his entire life: because AFO had brainwashed Tenko so much that even when AFO wasn't there to show him the way, Tomura continued to think that way in a way that supported the ideas of destruction that AFO wanted from him.

At the same time, All for One constantly denies that he has any human feelings or emotions, to the point of convincing himself that the tears he shed in front of Kudo were a tool of manipulation, although this makes no sense. I was always convinced that AFO, no matter how much he pretended to be an emotionless monster, always felt heartache over the loss of Yoichi.

Now that the spoilers for chapter 419 have been released, despite my overall shock at what happened in this chapter (I really didn't expect Izuku to lose his arms, even if there were signs for it), my opinion hasn't changed much. While I have to admit that I couldn't have foreseen the extent to which AFO interfered in Tenko's life (to the point where AFO encouraged Kotaro to have a second child), it did confirm what I wanted to write about Chapter 418. AFO controlled every aspect of Shigaraki's life, right down to his thoughts, without Tomura realizing it.

At the same time, I think chapter 419 also confirmed that AFO was an unreliable narrator in chapters 407-408, and that he actually has feelings, despite how much of a monster AFO presented himself as in those two chapters. If you pay attention to AFO's eyes when he took over Tomura's body in Chapter 419, you can see how AFO is devastated.

Despite AFO defeating Shigaraki's will, he does not feel triumphant. He doesn't seem to care about his victory. And the reason for this is quite simple: he lost Yoichi. AFO has lost his little brother, and now all he can do is return to his main plan to take over the world. Although without Yoichi it doesn't mean as much to him now.

Something so gut wrenching about the overlap between the constant warnings about his arms and the motif of reaching out (I won't heal another injury this bad again, those crooked fingers are a reminder, stay back, Deku, if you keep this up you're going to lose the use of your arms, find another way, kid, your body can't take this, some people can't be saved, use blackwhip to reinforce your arms) and how even knowing, fully aware that he would get hurt, he chose to keep trying. He chose kindness.
