Farewell The Doyle Legacy!

A small compilation dedicated to Eddy & Helena Harrington the founders of my Doyle Legacy♥

Helena Doyle Harrington was a woman of unwavering strength and resilience, She endured hardships from a young age, losing her mother to illness and began selling herself in Finchwick to survive. Yet, she never lost her spirit or her drive to make a better life for herself.

She squatted in a abandoned hunters cabin in the Bramblewoods which ultimately would lead her to meet the owner & her future husband Edward Harrington who had lost everything in the 1893 Silver Panic along with his entire family to Illness.

Helena was a victim of sexual & physical abuse, she was often afraid but Eddy despite coping with the loss of his family prioritized caring for Helena.

Even with Helena's negative reputation while working as a prostitute Eddy showered her with gentle care.

They quickly went from Roommates to lovers and with an unexpected baby on the way they became husband and wife. The pregnancy forced the couple to dive head first into working hard to turn the property into a functioning farm so their family could survive.

the couples wedding was simple and very private.

The couple Maxed out their gardening skills as they raised their children & sold the produce for profit.

Eddy and Helena always wanted the best for their kids and raised them strictly on the life of farming & teaching skills they deemed important for men & women to learn!

Being self sufficient was very important to them & they were confident their children would have a place to raise their own children on the property in the future.

But, as Eddy and Helena's children grew older they found it more difficult each day to keep their goals aligned with their own.

This left a lot of unresolved around the house and ultimately resulted in Eddy & Helena making major life decisions for their children in order to force their lives into the way they thought was best.

Silas was forced into a arranged marriage via ultimatum to ensure he'd take control of the family farm and Lucile was left to hurt own devices with the impression she would be always be taken care of. Lucile was often left alone and her goals were put on the back burner since Silas was the first born meant to shoulder ownership of the property.

After Eddy fell Ill Helena heavily devoted all her time to caring for him which lead to her getting the illness herself.

Eddy and Helena both started to deteriorate from tuberculosis and their care fell heavily upon their children's shoulders.

At this point I could no longer continue playing the save but eventually Helena and Eddy would've passed along side each other as the era entered the 1910's. Eddy and Helena were devoted to one another and worked hard their whole lives to turn an abandoned property far from town into a livable space their children could inherit.

Several times Eddy & Helena went hungry so their children did not.

Farewell Eddy and Helena you will be greatly missed!

Trois femmes aux ombrelles

And we're back at the regular 1880's fashion with this set which inludes bustle skirts in 3 lenghts, 2 skirt overlays, 3 flower accessories, a parasol and an umbrella !

As referenced in the title, this set was inspired by Marie Bracquemont’s painting : Trois femmes aux ombrelles ou Les Trois grâces / Three Ladies with Parasols or Three Graces, 1880.

Thanks to @javitrulovesims for making the perfect pose for this set !

——————————— Skirts ———————————

Once again, these skirts have a slight bustle shape which would best fit for the natural form era : roughly 1875 - 1883 ; (well actually, the size of the bustle is dependant on the size of the sim’s butt so do with that what you will). They are more ornate than my Cueillette skirts featuring some gathered layers and trims typical of the period, so they would be better suited for higher class people or more dressed up occasions.

And as always I give you 3 versions with each a different lenght to have more teen options and worker friendly options . The short one end mid calf, the medium one is ankle lenght and the long is full lenght.

To properly channel Marie Bracquemond's painting I needed a bunch of flower accessories so you will find 3 accessories in this set : a hair flower, a collar flower and a boutonnière. In my opinion these are pretty timeless and can suit a wide array of looks as portrayed in the pictures below.

These are all edits of @the-melancholy-maiden's Hair Flowers Through the Ages Part 2 thanks to her very open TOU.

none of these are compatible with hats

I made both an umbrella and a lacey parasol (using Javi's texture). These are rather timeless too I think, they are definetely suited for late victorian and edwardian eras.

Queen Anne of Advorton sat in her court at Aubryn Castle, her husband King Augustus by her side. An air of unease hung heavy in the room as thoughts raced through her mind. Despite the support of her husband and their formidable armies, Anne couldn't shake her fears for the safety of Dowager Queen Margaery. Her nephew, King Wilhelm V of Windenburg, had proven himself to be a tyrant, with terrifying and unpredictable actions that had plagued the realm.

Once the court proceedings were concluded, Anne seized the opportunity to speak privately with King Augustus. She confided in him, expressing her deep apprehension regarding Margaery's well-being. Anne feared that if Wilhelm were to discover their involvement in Margaery's escape plan, he would retaliate with a vicious attack on Advorton and its people. Seeking reassurance, she implored Augustus to devise a strategy that would ensure a smooth and successful rescue.

Understanding his wife's concerns, King Augustus comforted her, assuring her that their careful planning and the loyalty of their forces would safeguard both Margaery's freedom and the realm of Advorton. He urged Anne to write to Margaery once more, notifying her of their imminent arrival in the coming days. Anne, grateful for her husband's support and guidance, immediately retired to her chambers to pen a heartfelt letter to Margaery, reaffirming their unwavering commitment to her cause and their determination to bring her to safety.

Diana become a friend with a girl name called Victoria Smith. One day when Diana is going to the library she saw a man running. He seems like pretty in rush so he didn't know his some papers are left in the street. Diana try to catch him and give these papers. However he is running too fast so she didn't catch him. Then she took some paper to the library. She didn't read them yet.

As she saw her friend Victoria who's sitting in a chair. Victoria is a quite beautiful decent woman with blonde hair who's a social butterfly unlike her. When Victoria saw the Diana is coming toward her she smiled to her and give her a place to sit.

V : You look pretty tired Diana. Are you ok ?

D : Ofcourse my dear. I'm just trying to catch a man and give him these paper in the street on the way to the library. But i failed.

Diana show the paper to her friend.

V : Oh, what these papers tell ?

D : I have no idea. I haven't read it yet. Let's read together.

V : What on the earth he is writing ? He is writing about two unmarried couple doing devil tango.

Diana laugh and said.

D : Devil tango ? Dear the way you described it. Victoria lower her voice then

V : Yes, look at this again, it's a man having a pleasure with this tongue to woman private body part. A PRIVATE PART !!

D : I know , i know please lower your voice. It will be a screw if these people notice what are we reading.

As they continue to read they can't help but smiling, laughing and cringe.

The only words they could say is " No" and " Oh" then laugh quietly.

After they read those paper Diana asked to Victoria.

D : Wait ! Are we going to be like that after we become married to someone ? I'm so doomed. My life, oh god everything.

V : Don't think too much right now we are still young. Beside i know you like to read these

Victoria blushed and give a look that she like it too.

Diana laugh and said

" Dear we are screw up. Yes i'm quite enjoy to read this. God give me mercy. Am i a terrible person now?"

V : No way. If we are going to hell let's go together then"

And they laugh and read it again

(Author note : Hey it has been a while since i haven't upload anything for my personal problem but here now i'm back on truck. Wish and hope that i can post much in future)

Como bons fiéis, a família sempre ia aos domingos à Paróquia de Windenburg.

Lá, os vizinhos e moradores próximos podiam contar as fofocas da semana e claro, conhecer pessoas novas.

Josephine preferia perambular por aí do que assistir a missa, mas ela está perdoada pela pouca idade.

Após a missa, Elizabeth gostava de se reunir com as Senhoras de Windenburg e terem um brunch no Restaurante de Senhoras pertencente à família Quitutten.

Em casa, Elizabeth estava tentando manter tudo em ordem, lidando com as birras de Josie, educando-a e claro mantendo o lar funcionando.

James continuou se empenhando em prover sustento à família, seja na pescaria ou plantação.

Quando tinha alguma folga, Elizabeth se reunia com as Senhoras de Windenburg

Mas sempre passava mais tempo com Carolina, ela realmente era um ótima amiga.

Sempre visitando e ajudando Elizabeth com o que ela precisasse.

Especialmente quando os gêmeos nasceram

James Gray II e John Gray, nasceram na Quarta de Verão em 1894.

1891 Pt1 - Wedding Bells

The day of the wedding dawned...gloomy. Everything was ready for Uriah and Abigail except the weather. But the excited couple wasn't about to let a little rain ruin their big day.

Little Mai happily played in the nursery. "What's that, Plopsy?" She asked as she held the toy to her ear and listened. "No, you can't marry me. I have to wait for my Prince Charming. He'll be coming soon I'm sure." She hummed to herself as her mind filled with daydreams.

"You look beautiful, Darling.!" Miriam cooed as she entered the room where Abigail was getting ready. "Uriah will be a blessed man to have you as his wife."

Abigail hugged her mother. "I learned from the best. I'll make you proud."

Like a miracle, the rain cleared up and all of the Mizrahi and Hoffman's friends gathered to celebrate the young couple's love. Rebekah Hoffman, walked down the aisle in her best dress, keeping her head high. Meanwhile Cletus Mizrahi fell to pieces.

Gideon Mizrahi carried the rings down the aisle with pride. His uncle had especially trusted him to do the task and he would impress Maira by doing it with style. Maira Hoffman sighed at the silly boy in front of her as he almost slipped in the mud. "He'll ruin everything!"

Finally the big moment came as Thomas Hoffman walked his oldest daughter down the aisle toward her future husband. Thomas wiped a stray tear from his eye. "I wouldn't have picked him myself," Her father whispered, "But I couldn't have done better if I had. He's a good man."

As the couple said their vows in front of their gathered friends and family, They couldn't help feeling that something big was just beginning. On the eve of the 20th century with unknown challenges before them, they were glad to know they would go through it together.

Friday, 1908 Dear Journal,

Today started early with Mama rousing me and Pa before the sun for Si's wedding. Si, true to form, seemed uninterested, bored even, as we made our way to the church yard.

Despite a soggy autumn, today turned unexpectedly pleasant. Clear skies, a welcome break from the week's thunderstorms. However, I think Ma is stressed, she kept nagging about walking with my skirt up to avoid dragging it through the mud....

The ceremony was small, Only Josephine's parents and Jackson with his fancy wife, bothered to show. I tried my best to focus on Mama's words from yesterday, And I could see why Jackson favored her.

Skinny, porcelain pale, dripping in expensive jewelry....everything I am not. However, as Josephine graced us with her entrance, any inkling of comparison vanished.

Radiance enveloped her, surpassing the boundaries of mere beauty. She embodied something ethereal. A sunlight aura surrounded her, and I found myself akin to a sunflower, unable to avert my gaze.

Even Si seemed genuinely happy, I saw him smile from ear to ear, he clasped her soft delicate hands, and caressed her cheek.

It was a sight to see, physical or emotional affection have never been his forte, not even in our childhood.

He was initially furious with Pa over the prospect of marrying Josephine. I remember his enraged shouts, echoing from the parlor.

Confidentially, Journal, I've noticed his practiced performance of donning the façade of a gentleman and a devoted son, particularly when in Mr. Coombes' presence.

Whether genuine or an act, my earnest prayer is for him to treat Josephine with the respect she deserves. I hold a genuine fondness for her, and I welcome her warmly into our family.

At the Theater

It's me again ! I won't rest easy until I'm done filling the gaps in my 1880s wardrobe and evening wear sure was a big one. So here, come and look at these 1870's / 1880's evening bodices, 4 of them ! You're welcome, just don't use them for gardening or the historical fashion police will be on your back ❤️

This set was inspired by 2 of Mary Cassatt's paintings : as referenced in the title, At the Theater, 1880 and Woman in a Loge, 1879.

——————— Plain and Bow Bodices ———————

These 2 bodice are the ones that are most inspired by Mary Cassatt's paintings, but it's also a style I've seen a bunch in other impressionist paintings of the time. It's a simple sleek bodice with off the shoulder sleeves and a low rounded collar as was fashionable in the late 1870s and early 1880s.

It is specially made to be worn over my bustle skirts. An overlay is included to change the bow's color.

Disclaimer :

1 -be aware there will be some distorsion in the armpit area, I did my best but armpit weights are tricky.

2 - the patterned swatches will not be seamless in that same armpit region as you can see below it's quite cluncky :

————————— Rococo Bodice —————————

This bodice, like the name implies, is inspired by Rococo fashion. The Rococo style dates back to the 18th century and it had a bit of a revival during the victorian era which impacted the fashion as much as the interior decor among other things. This influence, here, results in a squarish neck line and a triangle piece reminiscent of 18th century stomachers.

Like the the plain and bow bodices it has been specially made to be worn over my bustle skirts. An overlay is included to change the trim's color.

This bodice was mostly inspired by some fashion plates from 1880.

Contrary to the 3 others, I made it so it sits under the skirt, so it'll work with other bottoms than my bustle skirt too should you want to.

In addition to the flower accessories from my previous set, here is a boutonnière that sits lower on the chest to work with lower neck lines. Contrary to my previous boutonnière, this one is also compatible with necklaces. Like my other flower accessories, this is a pretty timeless accessory as evidence by the picture below.

On some random Tuesday Gilbert decide to take a walk on the park cause he has been thinking about that girl eyes Tessa, the name feel like a honey in his tongue. As he walk by he notice a young girl who is playing a chess alone.

The sun shine above her, eyes brighter than the blue sky, and the blonde hair is reflecting like a sun. He immediately notice that she's his sister new friend. What her name ??? Veronica? Vanessa? Victoria.

With his thought he walk towards her and politely ask " May I join the game?"The girl look at him and simply answer "You can have a seat"

G : I know you, you're my sister's friend right.

V : Yes i know you too. She mentioned about her brothers alot.

G : Interesting. Good or bad

V : You won't never know. Well shall we start?

Gilbert nob towards her.

As they are playing

Gilbert ask her " Why are you playing alone? It's ok if you don't have to answer".

Victoria move a chess and answered.

V: It's not that private things. Sometimes i like to spend and clear my thought. If you might wondering what kind of thought. There is a ball coming and it's shame that i can't dance.

Gilbert look at with her with not trusting eyes

V : Oh don't look at me like that. I know, i know girl should learn the dance blah""" but i didn't learn for some reason and now i'm mess up.

she hissed

G : With this case. You don't have to worried about that i can teach you some.

V : Are you sure about that ?

G : Why not ? Beside you're my sister's best friend. She will mad at me if i know your struggle and didn't teach you.

Victoria give him a smile and say " Thank you

By the way you're,...?"

"Gilbert"

V: oh i thought you're Erwin..my bad

G : It's ok she's the only girl in your siblings so it's ok to wrong our names. So i'm going to teach you a dance lesson in every evening in here.

V : Here ?

G : Why ?

V : People gonna see. You know about the society.

G : Then where can i teach you a dance?

V : You can come to my house.

Suddenly her face went blush and he notice that. It's so cute when she blush he guess.

G : Ok then your house. For right now Let's play another round"

and he began to move the chess
