Walls & Floors from Sims Medieval

TSM - The Sims Medieval - has the prettiest textures for floors and walls. They have been extracted and converted before for example by @zx-ta, but I always wanted MOAR - more sizes, more swatches, ect.

When I redid the floors I made them to include Four-Sizes-In-One - this means that you can find four different pattern sizes all under the same floor in the game catalog - you can see in game that there are 4 x 10 swatches, so each color has 4 pattern size options.

All of them have normals and speculars.

Mix and match, make decorative floors anywhere! These floors are called "medieval" but can really be used in all eras, timeless!

To start, here are three sets:

The children shook in their stockings when their father approached, seeking their permission to invite his friend into the manor. They couldn’t believe it. For the past few years, their home had been a sanctuary limited to only two guests: Paul and Elaine's physician. The proposal of introducing someone new, particularly a "lady friend" of their father's, stirred a whirlwind of emotions within his children.

Edmund sensed their initial apprehension. They had been isolated for so long, cocooned within the walls of the manor. The idea of accommodating an outsider in the comfort of their own home felt both exhilarating and unsettling. In the end, they did agree. Cecily, Josiah, and Elaine did, at least. In truth, they wanted to become acquainted with the lady ever since learning of their father's frequent outings with her.

The three youngest children peered out from behind the arch of the door, eager to catch a glimpse of their father and his companion as they spoke quietly upon their arrival in the foyer.

Elaine was the first out, running straight into her father’s expecting arms. Meanwhile, Cecily and Josiah focused their attention on her. Josiah, ever the blunt one, took it upon himself to inform their guest of his father’s zealous cleaning spree in preparation for her visit, only to find the floors still lacking in cleanliness. Simultaneously, Cecily warmly welcomed their new guest, offering to be her guide through the expansive manor.

Imogene was captivated by the children’s warmth and innocence, their small voices blending in a chorus of curiosity and excitement.

Unnoticed by the bustling gathering in the foyer, Eugene observed silently from his position on the stairs. He sat with a brooding gaze, casting a disapproving eye upon his overly enthusiastic and excessively sharing siblings, as well as his stuttering father. When his gaze fell upon Imogene, a surge of frustration stained his vision red. Was everyone in the house touched by madness? It was a question he had pondered for years, and the resounding answer remained unchanged: Yes.

Rococo Boudoir - Part I

The dressing table was an important piece of furniture in the life of a fine rococo lady. Now you can recreate a mid 18th century boudoir in your game!

This set includes 20 new Objects:

The 6 pieces of Louis XV furniture are accompanied by decorative items in the style of 18th century Sevres porcelain. I also remade the Louis XV Candlestick I made a while ago, because it was missing LOD's. Please replace the old files by the new ones.

Dear life,

Ever since I was a little girl, I always thought you were something wonderful. Of course, I still think of you this way, but… But if you are so wonderful how can you be so mean at the same time? Is this supposed to be some kind of lesson you and the Watcher are trying to teach me? Because if so, I must admit, dear life, I actually learned something very important.

As a result of recent events, I learned that…

You can be a good student;

You can be a friendly person with lots of friends, always smiling politely at everyone...

But it doesn't matter at all, because all it takes is one secret that you accidentally witnessed, one secret about your headmaster and teacher…

One secret that was repeated to someone…

And then repeated again.

One secret and one worried brother who decided to confront the headmaster about that secret…

And one headmaster, desperate to maintain his reputation.

All it takes is those three things to accuse you of being a liar.

And then, when you don't want to apologize for the truth and you start arguing with people you shouldn't be arguing with…

All that's left to do is pack your things and get ready to leave the school you love because no one wants liars there. Even those who tell the truth.

Школьный семестр подходил к концу. Зимние каникулы приближались. Каждый год ее брат с лучшим другом устраивали по такому поводу вечеринки, в этом году очередь Луи. Киара так и не разобравшись в своих чувствах хотела в этот раз остаться дома, пока Луи неожиданно не решил написать сам.

Веченинка.

Весь вечер Киара пыталась найти Луи и может поговорить с ним. Но без результатно, он словно сквозь землю провалился ( p.s Потом то я увидела чем занимался Луи.Но кажется Киара об этом догадывалась. Он был вместе с Кэролин и они занимались непристойными делами 😥)

Потеряв всякий интерес к этой вечеринке Киара уединилась в тихом спокойном углу у бассейна. Иногда интересно было взглянуть на то что происходит вокруг, подростки веселятся,танцуют, громко смеются. Во круг царила приподнятая атмосфера. Одиночество Киары было разрушено, она уже и не надеялась что он еще однажды заговорили с ней. (Последний раз когда они виделись он бегал от ее попыток заговорить 😅)

Тем временем у Криса появилась новая любовь в лице Эрики Фэйн. После обнимашек на крыше Крис окончательно влюбился, а Эрика ушла недовольная 😂

Как говорится пустое брюхо к ученью глухо, поэтому ребята решили сначала подкрепиться. Майкл предложил взять бургеры в его любимом фастфуде.

Возвращаемся на вечеринку

Blowtorch!

Maxi's worlds emptied of era specific stuff – made for simmers who wants themed hoods of their choice.

So, you found T.O.O.L, the super useful mod by Twisted Mexi, and learned how to decorate your sim world.

But there is this problem with Maxis houses and items, which do NOT fit in your sim world. So far, the most used method has been to hide them, as in either move them away (if even possible) from sight or use a hider/override to make them invisible. That method has its limits, is very tedious (need to find, make an override, ect, and there are SO MANY items)

Blowtorch has another approach. It takes out the items (houses, vehicles, modern deco, well - all silly deco really) from the world. You can then place nicer deco or game items instead.

The items are not hidden from catalogue, so you can place the same items back but in a different place if you so wish. Or use cc deco. Make the world medieval, or Victorian, or sci-fi, or whatever.

HOW DOES THIS WORK?

This mod edits the preloaded deco in the world. It changes game files – and the changes will affect all your saves, old and new. If you decide that you want the deco back, you can do it either with the GAME REPAIR function or using the backup of the original folders that I included in the mods folders.

You can either use all my edited files – or the ones you want. If you for example want Willow Creek to be as it always has, but want a blowtorched Oasis Springs, just delete the Willow Creek files before installation, and keep Oasis Springs.

I have blowtorched almost all the hoods in the worlds, both EP and GP: s (See list in Documentation PDF for exceptions.) If you don’t have all EP/GP I recommend to delete the ones you don’t have before installing.

(Save the zip with the mod somewhere safe so you can add new worlds when you add a new EP/GP with a world.)

Here are some general rules I went by:

- All landmarks, architecture deco, street deco, vehicles, with special effects - blowtorched

- Functional objects: outside tables, playground items, and such – blowtorched. Place them again where you want them!

- All lights, both streetlights and built in hood lights, blowtorched.

- All palm trees, ever pink trees, wispy modern beeches, and other modern plants, blowtorched. (I of course kept the palm trees in Sulani and Selvadorada)

- ALMOST ALL THESE THINGS (not the built in lights) are still available in the catalog (debug, live edit) items though. So, if you still want a modern, but DIFFERENT hood, you can place them again, as you want them. This is a big advantage compared to hiders – those usually hide the items also from the catalogue.

- Visual effects belonging to vehicles and other stuff mentioned above, blowtorched. No modern yachts, no airplanes.

- The lights are gone. The world will be dark at night if you don’t place streetlights or such.

WHAT I KEPT

I kept the seasons stalls, where they are available (if you have the Seasons EP.) They can also be placed, but as they are in conditional layers (changes with the seasons) this can't be done by placing them manually.

I kept all spawners. All the fishing spots and all the bugs, frogs, dig sites, wild growing plants.

Lighting mod included

This mod also includes the Sunblind lighting mod by Softerhaze. Lighting mods also change these files, so I added Sunblind with the creator's permission. Read more about their mod here.

(You do not need to download or install the mod; it is included in the Blowtorch mod.)

If you want another lighting mod or no lighting mod, you need to edit the files manually.

This is done by replacing the resources “Sky Box Texture Data” and “World Timeline Color”.

ECO LIFESTYLE NOTE!

Unfortunately, the Evergreen Harbor world that came with Eco Lifestyle (EP 9) has some special evil magic and the deco needs hiders anyway. If you play with that world and want it to be BLOWTORCHED, install the file ELHoodHidersMerged in your Mods folder.

Q&A about Blowtorch mod

1. Can I use this on my old saves?

Answer: Yes. The mod does not affect the saves, or your CC, or anything other than the game files in the Windows directory. You can easily uninstall the mod by using the backup files (included) or do a Game Repair.

2. Why are there stuff not deleted? Annoying modern fences in Windenburg Ugly Modern Business district, for example?

Answer: some items are a part of the world mesh and is not yet possible to edit. If there will be a solution later, I will update the mod.

3. Will I have to update the mod after patches and new expansions?

Answer: Yes. If the patch/ep/GP does not include a new world, you just reinstall the mod (see instructions below) as you installed it the first time. I will make updated versions asap when new worlds are released.

4. I don’t have EP X or Y – can I use the Blowtorch mod?

Answer: Yes, but I recommend deleting the folders for EP/GP you don’t have. See list in the PDF-file with documentation.

5. Does this mod clash with Timeless mod? Answer: No, but it makes Timeless obsolete. Timeless hides stuff - Blowtorch removes the same stuff.

6. How about mods like Nandos Egypt (Strangerville) or The Sense Medieval's Medieval Windenburg? Answer: if you have a mod that changes one hood or one world, and want to keep them as they were, don't install the Blowtorch files for that world/hood. The Senses default replacements are not affected.

7. Should I keep my hiders of stuff used as hood deco? Answer: Better to take them out. This mod eliminates the need for hiders.

Where to find nice themes hood deco to use with Blowtorch?

You can basically use any item, from game or CC, to decorate hoods. Try out the options with T.O.O.L to change the size of objects!

I already posted some Hood Deco CC – and I have much more to come. I have been converting/editing/creating and preparing hood deco from Sims Medieval, Sims 2 and Sims 3 and other games – my CC is medieval/historical themed but I hope for other creators to add to the hood deco options in the future.

Lilis Palace, quite literally

Hello everyone, I have been working on this Hungarian-inspired mansion for quite a while now, and although I have taken many liberties (especially the back area with the pool) I think it looks Hungarian enough, especially thanks to the amazing cc from @lilis-palace,

The sound of innocent bickering from the two youngest Ambroise children echoed throughout the overgrown yard, amusing the attentive ears of Edmund, who maintained a watchful eye over the playful children. Cecily sat beside her father and observed him in thoughtful silence with a gaze both curious and contemplative.

Though she’d never been one to shy away from expression, Cecily often found her thoughts speaking louder than her words. She possessed a meticulous nature, in which she preferred carefully weaving her words into coherent thoughts before they were vocalized—a trait notably distinct from her unrestrained siblings. Eugene, driven by an impulsive desire to articulate every mean thought, seemed driven by a need to release his critical opinions from his mind as swiftly as they entered. Josiah, on the other hand, remained indifferent to how others perceived him, prioritizing his own understanding above all else—an attribute that irked those around him, particularly his reluctance to repeat or rephrase. Once spoken, his words stood no chance of being altered or corrected—something Elaine had picked up on. “Think before you speak, Elaine,” Cecily said at least twice a day in response to improper sentences like, “When I’m old, I’ll do a bakery and plant pies” and unreasonable questions that follow such as, “Why can’t I plant pies?”.

Similar to improper conversational etiquette, Cecily held a very low tolerance for stuttering and mumbling. It was like chalk grating a pristine slate to her ears. At her young age, she knew she preferred momentary silence in thought as opposed to stutters from faltering lips and vacant minds. And so she sat, dedicating time to piece her thoughts and curiosities together into a narrative that reflected her intentions precisely.

“Father,” she began, “may I ask you something?”

Edmund, attuned to the gravity of her tone, turned his complete attention to his daughter. Carefully, he said, “You can ask me anything.”

"I was thinking about your lady friend," she confessed. "How did you come to know her?"

Though he had anticipated this very question—wondering which one of his eldest children would broach the subject first—he resented it just as much. There’d been a time early on in his reconnection with Imogene where he had considered sitting his children down, offering them insight into her presence in his life, and disclosing his entire history with her. Yet, he had balked at the notion, second guessing the necessity of such a conversation. If she were merely a friend and there were no further intentions, then perhaps there was no need for an "explanation"... or so he had attempted to convince himself.

“I knew her when I was a young boy… just before meeting your mother. Imogene was… a part of my past.”

He chose his words carefully. Cecily appreciated that, but it wasn’t enough. She pressed, “Did you love her? Imogene?”

Edmund’s shoulders sagged as he released a sigh before admitting honestly, “Yes, I did.”

He always thought discussing his past with Imogene to his children would stump him, and he’d be a sputtering lying fool. Yet, in that moment, he felt no such indulgence. The admission flowed with an unexpected ease—almost relieving.

A thoughtful pause lingered between them before Cecily ventured further, her voice barely above a whisper, "Did you love her more than my mother?"

He stared ahead. “No.” His response was swift and concrete. “Rosalyn—your mother… holds a place in my heart no one can surpass.”

Cecily was relentless. “Do you still love Imogene?”

“No.” It sounded so simple.

“Could you love her again?”

He returned his attention to his daughter—her wide eyes void of resentment or detest. “Cecily–”

“I don’t think Mother would be upset with you for loving her again. She would want you to be happy.”

Exhaling softly, Edmund carefully watched Cecily—a reflection of her mother in both demeanor and insight. “I am happy,” he expressed while looking at her side profile, her gaze now fixed ahead. “I’m happy. You four make me happy.”

She shrugged. “You could be happier.”

Cecily had no intention of shoving her father into the arms of any woman, but she wasn’t blind. She’d observed their interactions keenly—a bit foolish if she were to admit. She simply couldn’t imagine someone making her stutter and blush the way her father and Imogene did when in each other's presence. She knew she needed to make it clear to her father that if he decided not to pursue a relationship with the woman, it’d be his sole decision and not one influenced by herself and her siblings… (Addressing Eugene's bitterness would be a concern for another time, should it arise).

While she lacked deep perception of her mother, her memories painted a portrait of a woman akin to an angel. Cecily couldn’t imagine her mother being resentful of her father for seeking love after years spent in mourning.

Edmund, who prided himself on believing he possessed a more intimate understanding of Rosalyn than perhaps anyone else in the world, acknowledged that his daughter's insights held truth in more ways than one.

Burdick Legacy 1890 | PART 1

Rudy and Bridget Burdick had been enjoying the first days of summer since getting married. Only a year ago Rudy had fallen ill and was tasked by his family doctor to spend time in the rural part of the country. Once a prominent upper class gentleman, he made the choice to leave his wealth and status (yeah okay Rudy) behind when he met a beautiful farm girl named Bridget. Her enthusiasm for nature and joyful charm “cured” him of his affliction quickly, but he couldn’t bear to leave her side. She couldn’t bear to leave his.

They found a quaint cottage and soon began planting crops and tending to chickens. The crops had just started growing, the springs were warm enough to swim in, and the rabbits had begun to grow fond of Bridget.

Just before going to bed Bridget shared some exciting news with Rudy. She was pregnant with their first child. Rudy was overjoyed, excited to start a family and really solidify his new life as a farmer. They talked all night about the baby. Life was blissful.

Maybe...

There was some unpleasant news coming to interrupt their quaint, perfect lives in the form of Rudy’s mother…
