One of the most generally useful things to come out of Hbomberguy's plagiarism video and Todd in the Shadows' similar video on misinformation is how they bring transparency to the internet phenomenon of "I made up a guy to get mad at".
Seriously, I've seen people make up a lot of stupid shit on the internet over the years and it's often just a manipulative attempt to paint a group of marginalized people in a bad light.
That's the TL;DR version of this post.
Tumblr media
ANYWAY here is the long version
Those videos are mostly about James Somerton's plagiarism of other queer people's work. However I'd like to talk about that 20-30% of Somerton's original writing- and oh boy. It's mostly about complaining about White Straight Women and misgendering well-known trans creators such as Rebecca Sugar and calling Becky Albertalli a straight woman while it's pretty common knowledge that she was forced to out herself as bi because she received so much harassment over "being a cishet woman who appropriates LGBT+ stories".
One thing that irks me especially is how in his Killing Stalking and Gay Shipping videos Somerton brings up how straight women/ teen girl shippers exploit gay men for their personal sexual fantasies. This gets brought up several times in his videos.
Being all up and arms about Somerton being a "White Cis Gay Who Hates Women and Queer People tm" is not that useful because the kind of rhetoric he's using is extremely common in fandom and LGBT+ spaces on Tumblr, TikTok and Twitter. We really don't need to bring Somerton's identity to this since he is in no way an unique example.
It's hypocritical to make this about an individual person when I've seen A TON of posts, tweets and videos where queer people talk about these Sinister Straight Women who are supposedly out there fetishizing and exploiting queer men. It's pretty clear to me that this is just an excuse to shit on women and queer people for having any sexual interests. At worst these comments are spreading misinformation about BL, a form of media that has been excessively studied by both Asian feminists and Asian queer women.
This all sounds really familiar and I think it's good that people are calling it out as what it is: misogyny and transphobia. I'd also point out the potentially racist motives behind being this hypervigilant about Asian media.
People can absolutely be misogynist regardless of gender or orientation. I really don't know why we need to create some kind of made up enemy to get mad at. I actually think it's almost sinister how "anti-fujoshi" people call Slash shippers and fujoshi misogynists or claim that they have internalised misogyny while being dismissive about women's interests and creative pursuits under Japanese obscenity laws, China's censorship, book bans in American schools and various other disadvances that are part of being a queer and/or female creator.
I think we shouldn't be naive about the bad faith actors who want to turn queer people against each other. For example Fujoshi.info mentions anti-gender (TERF, GC etc) movement using this kind of rhetoric as well.
Anyway if you want to read more:
- about the false info around BL fandom fujoshi.info
-There is the scholar Thomas Baudinette who studies gay media in Japan. Here is a podcast with him and the scholar Khursten Santos
-James Welker is a BL scholar as well. Here is a podcast interview about the new international BL article collection he edited.
-I've already talked about this Youtube channel by KrisPNatz and his great Killing Stalking video that actually engages with the themes of the manhwa
- There is also HR Coleman's thesis DO NOT FEED THE FETISHIZERS: BOYS LOVE FANS RESISTANCE AND CHALLENGE OF PERCEIVED REPUTATION where she interviews 36 BL fans and actually breaks down why fetishization has become such a huge talking point in the fandom discourse. Spoilers, it's mostly about young queer people and women being worried that they will get judged and pathologized for their interest in anything sexual.
-Great podcast about Danmei and censorship with Liang Ge

some people will say the most transphobic shit imaginable and then go "but thats just my opinion, im not transphobic or anything" like they just didnt misgender someone for a whole fucking paragraph and talk about a made up scenario just so they could get mad at a trans person that doesnt exist in their life.

Had the misfortune of walking through almost an hour of a friend's homophobic, misandrist, transphobic and traditionalist rant yesterday, but where I wanna focus is the absolutely insane example he gave me to explain the classic "trans women aren't real women because they don't have wombs" TERF spiel.
Namely, that he can "buy Ghost's (of COD: MW fame) uniform, learn all his moves, but he still won't be the real Ghost" and that "Batman and Iron Man aren't real superheroes because they don't have powers, just the crapload of money to compensate"
Yyyyeeeeeeahhhh. Make of that what you will.

some fuckhead on twitter mad about seeing pad & tampon dispensers in an ottawan men's bathroom... as if he was followed to the toilet by some liberal cisman terminator bent on exterminating any cigendered man who would not use those products himself. they obviously aren't for you, you self-centred, insecure buffoon. you do not use the soap and faucets either, since you find the act of washing one's hands after using the toilet to be "unnecessary," but I do not see you complaining about their presence! actually grow up.

MDNI Trans!Satoru Gojo x GN!reader
CW: Trans Gojo (his clit is referred to as a cock), Afab!Reader, GN!Reader, reader gets called pretty and gorgeous but only neutral pronouns are used. You eat Gojo out and he fucks you with a strap. Trans Gojo haunts me oh so sexily and has been buzzing about my brain for a while. It's been a long time since i wrote proper smut so please be kind. (Also sorry to those who have been waiting for this I get super self conscious writing smut so it takes me a while. Also all rude comments or hate for trans!Gojo will be met with a very swift block and possibly a report. I do not have time for transphobes)
___
Mine mine mine
You could stay here between his legs and be happy to never leave as he ruts against your face, plush wet fold sliding over your lips and your tongue dipping into his hole as his fat cock grinds against your nose. Yeah no you could probably die happy like this surrounded in his scent and taste. You might actually if he doesn’t loosen the grip on the back of your head, pushing you tighter and deeper against his cunt.
“Fuuuck just like that. Haaa You’re so good for me.” His deep moans and thready breaths go straight to your own core. You know he’ll fuck you once you’re done. He never leaves you wanting, always returns the pleasure you’d given him in kind.
In the interest of your continued existence however you lightly pinch the inside of his thigh making him jerk and loosen his grip on the back of your head so you can pull back for a breath. “Haaa sorry sorry,” He says as his hand goes from gripping your hair to petting over it. His hips stutter upward when your warm breath fans over his cock and cunt. He looks down at you and you’re a mess. Eyes glazed over and his slick coating the lower half of your face making it glisten. “Fuck you’re gorgeous like this. Leaves no doubt that you’re mine.” His lips curl up in a lazy grin bringing out his dimples and rosy cheeks. He’s not much better than you, hair clinging to his face from sweat, chest stained pink while it rises and falls. His hand moves from your hair, slides over your cheek and then cups your chin where he swipes his thumb over your glistening lips before dipping into your eager mouth. You suck on the rough digit drawing a groan from deep in his chest.
He pulls his thumb from your mouth with a small pop, a thin trail of spit connects you to the digit for a moment almost like it’s an extension of your reluctance to release it. He can’t help but chuckle at the pout you give him before he’s pulling you up along his body, one of his thighs slotting between yours, your arousal slicking across his strong thigh as you go, your own leg is pressed tight against his puffy folds. He licks a stripe over your messy chin and into your mouth, taking pleasure in the mixed taste of the two of you, taking satisfaction in the way you moan into his mouth as you try rut against his thigh, taking, taking, taking because he can never get enough of you and would pull you into his own being if he could. Strong hands still your hips as he begins to grind up against you, controlling the pace as your cunts slick against each other's thighs. You moan against his mouth, actually trying to kiss him being abandoned in favor of panting and whining into each other. It’s all so messy, absolutely wanton as your hands slide up his chest and wet sounds fill the room.
“Can I get you to cum like this? Just grinding on my thigh?” You feel his smirk as he skims his lips down your throat to nip at the delicate skin there. He didn’t actually have room to tease considering the mess he was making against your own thigh but he was scattering your thoughts too much for you to point that out. You’d already been drunk on him long before he’d pulled you up from between his thighs.
“Satoru, please,” You whine, gripping tightly at his shoulders.
“Please what?” And he pulls his face back from where he’d been marking up your neck to give you a smug grin and has the nerve to stop grinding the two of you together because of course he had to be a tease and a menace even in bed.
The whine you let out this time could be called petulant as the man currently controlling your pleasure stills you with strong hands as you try to chase your own pleasure. The high you’d been chasing stuttering and being suspended before you by the unfairly pretty man you were giving yourself to. He could swear he feels your cunt pulse against him and how you're trying to move your hips to get something, anything from him. It’s all in vain though with his strong hands gripping your hips, fingers digging into your plush body. You likely have perfect little bruises later as a reminder.
“You’re gonna have to use your words, pretty.” He nips at your kiss swollen lips.
“You’re terrible.” Your words only make him smile harder and god is it a pretty smile even when it’s at your expense. “Want more of you.” You pout and as you begin to glance away he rocks his thigh against you, a reward that draws a hissed breath between your teeth out of surprise. Perhaps he wasn’t as dead set at playing games with you as thought he might be as he begins to slowly grind the two of you together again.
“Want more of me how?” He asks against your lips. “You really getting shy on me now even after you’d been moaning into my cunt just a minute ago?” His voice is low and the nature of his words makes your stomach flutter and your thighs clench around his.
You try to bury your face in his neck but he grips you at the nape and gently pulls you back enough to look at him, the oceans in his eyes partially obscured by his blown wide pupils. You swallow thickly. “Want you to fuck me.”
“There you go.” And suddenly he’s flipping you over, your back being pressed down into the plush bed. He kisses you before pulling back and rising to his knees. The air of the room chills against your exposed cunt and the wet patch Satoru had left on your thigh. You watch him as he shuffles to the side table where he’d left his already prepared strap and it’s harness, the base of which is specifically textured and shaped to also give pleasure to the wearer. You watch transfixed as he puts it on, admiring how the straps of the harness frame his ass. He smirks over his shoulder at you, well aware of how you hadn’t taken your eyes off him.
Moving back over to you he pushes your legs apart to make space for himself. He places one of his hands on your lower tummy, splaying his fingers out before gently squeezing the soft flesh there. He chuckles to himself.
“What’s so funny?”
“Oh just thinking about how ruined you’re going to be once i’m right here.” He gives you another squeeze and delights in how you squeak and your cheeks heat up.
“Satoruuu, stop,” You whine and then your eyes widen when he starts to pull back entirely despite damn well knowing what you meant. “No no no I meant stop teasing not stop stop.” You begin to sit up and reach for him.
He smiles at you cheekily and grabs your hands as they reach for him, linking your fingers together. “But you’re so fun to tease.” He leans in until your noses are just barely touching. From this close he can’t see you pout but he can see how your brows knit together. He rubs your noses together before kissing the space between your eyebrows, then kisses the apple of your cheek and then finally your lips. “You know I’ll always take care of you after though. Would never dream of leaving my pretty hanging. Now-” he releases your hands so he can slide them down your body, taking in every dip and soft curve. The feeling of his slightly rough hands making a shiver go through you. “-where was I?” he pauses at where he’d been originally groping at your stomach before moving lower, his touch turning feather light and teasing as his fingers move over where you want him most. You buck your hips involuntarily at the light contact.
Gojo tuts at you and holds your hips down with one hand while he teasingly explores your folds, almost agonizing in his gentleness as he slides his long fingers through them. He catches your clit between his middle and index finger before leaning down to suck on it, his fingers moving away from it to begin to dip into your wet heat. When you try to buck toward him the hand on your hip holds you firm. He hums against your clit as he pushes his fingers into your wet heat, drawing a moan from your kiss swollen lips.
The contact is gone all too quickly as he pulls everything back, his mouth, his fingers. Your pathetic whine is unneeded as he’s immediately positioning his silicone cock at your entrance. He dips the head in, watching your face intently as he pushes it in inch by inch.
His name catches somewhere between a whine and a sigh as it falls from your lips. “Satoru…” You reach for him and he catches your hands in his own, lacing his larger fingers with yours once again and pressing them down into the mattress on either side of your head as he covers your body with your own, bottoming out. Pressing his lips against yours he swallows a moan from you before beginning a slow grind into you, his own cunt and cock rubbing against the silicone base of the strap on.  He pants into your mouth and when he pulls back slightly to gaze at you a string of spit connects the two of you.
“You’re so fucking pretty like this. Pretty and mine.” His thrusts pick up. “Always gonna be mine yeah?”
“Always yours,” you reply dazed and already looking fucked out. You wrap your legs around his hips, trying to keep him deep inside of you.
He squeezes your hands, now spurred on, working his hips to get your both to your high. The sounds filling the bedroom are obscene, the wet sounds of his cock filling your cunt over and over, the sounds of skin on skin and not least of all your moans. You’ll probably get a sound complaint later for the headboard banging against the wall if nothing else. “ ‘toru I’m-” You cry out. And he swallows your cry of pleasure, his lips covering your own. He can feel your orgasm splash against him, soaking the sheets beneath you as he ruts harder into you, drawing it out while chasing his own. You feel his hips stutter and press hard into you, slowing into a steady grind as he slows before pulling out and flopping next to you.
He pulls you against his chest, and the both of you lay there panting as you come down. One of his hands runs up and down your spine while you kiss at the underside of his jaw. After several calm moments you speak up and he swears can hear the pout it your voice. “You didn’t let me finish eating you out.” He laughs sudden and loud.  The two of you were nowhere near done for the night.

I love reading your analyzing of Coyle. I wondered if you had any thoughts on his sexuality? (I mean I have a damn spread sheet myself, but you're so much better at words and really great at psychoanalyzing lol). I've described him as being "the straightest gay man I've ever seen" to a few people now and eventually the "get" it.
(CW: discussions of canon typical sexual and racial violence, slavery, internalized homophobia, domestic violence and femicide. One of the linked videos also discusses fascism using disturbing transphobic rhetoric as an example.)
Tumblr media
Thank you for your kind words, it’s really nice to know my ramblings are resonating with someone! Discussion should be allowed to emerge naturally, but I think much of the debate that arose from the revelation of Coyle’s character was removed from the context of the oppressed groups being commented on by the text. I say that mainly in reference to people of color, since the KKK represents a cultural trauma which is inextricably attached to blackness, but the statement applies to queer people as well. That very Klan was almost extinguished in the 1870s until it was revitalized half a century later by a film, of all things: media is obviously important. There’s much more that can be, and to an extent needs to be, said about this story beyond rehashing “it is/is not okay to hornypost about this” ad nauseam.
So let’s get this out of the way: I think Coyle was deliberately being written as queer. The ethics of incorporating LGBT characters in a setting so obsessed with the grotesque are questionable (you can read more perspectives on that here and here,) but I think there was intention behind the decision to depict him this way, whether it's "good representation" or not.
One of his defining traits is that he habitually deploys lewd, effeminate language to intimidate and dehumanize his victims: “alluring piglet,” “honey,” “beautiful/sexy b*tch,” “darling,” “sweet, ripe young things" and the like. You could argue that is solely a degradation tactic rather than a direct indicator of his sexual preference, and he does seem to do it primarily to scare you. But a big part of the horror in Kill the Snitch is that Coyle is very unembarrassed about how much pleasure he gets out of subjecting you to that degradation. (“You lick my boot, maybe I let you up.”) The innuendo he taunts the Reagents with is unaffected by their gender presentation, and The Snitch is a fixed character presented as a cis man who Coyle treats with just as much aggressive leeriness. From there, it's difficult to interpret him as straight.
And since Coyle is one of the main villains of the game, I think I would be remiss if I argued that his bi/pansexuality is a thematically insignificant byproduct of his broader characterization as a sadist. That conclusion certainly presents itself: even if his queerness is loudly implied, it isn’t commented on directly by the text the way other aspects of his character are, like racism and uxoricide. The closest we get to a clear, unmistakable identification of his sexuality comes in the form of his aforementioned attitude towards The Snitch.
While the Reagents are interchangeable grunts, The Oogie Boogie Man Snitch is Coyle's own prisoner, and as such we witness him compound the usual routine of sexualized cruelty with repeated assertions of possession, calling him things like “toy” “mine” and “property” to emphasize a sense of ownership. He comes completely undone when the Reagents electrocute him to death, exploding into thwarted, miserable rage like a kid watching their sandcastle get kicked to shit (“No! FUCKING NO! He was mine!”) and throwing out all of his beliefs at once as this jumbled, fascistic mess; “anarchist pinko fucks” this and “country’s going to shit” that.
Perhaps the most telling line about their dynamic is this one: “Jesus Christ you look like my second wife, you know that? Spittin' image. Woman got me 'bout as hot as Missouri asphalt.” The only time we see how Coyle interacts with people on an even playing field is in the files, when it’s mentioned that he killed two of his fellow soldiers when serving in the army & brutalized a murkoff agent interviewing him. The social dominance he has over people like The Snitch and his wives seems to be the only way he’s capable of conducting interpersonal relationships on a vaguely emotional level. Otherization, fuckability, and the need for corrective shame/subordination are all intertwined in Coyle's head, muddling together to form his notion of natural hierarchy: one which is incoherent, self-serving, and more about appearances than anything else. (“I know what you did. I just need to hear you say it.”)
And the importance placed on appearances isn’t just something that Leland happens to believe. In the era when this game takes place, the electric chair was at peak popularity as a form of “humane” capital punishment: in reality, it was a callous technological repackaging of the methods of execution which came before it, namely the (distinctly racialized) hanging/lynching. These methods were designed to reinforce social hierarchy by staging voyeuristic displays of dehumanization, and were levied with particular barbarism against people of color. There’s a catalog of horror stories I could insert here about white supremacy and the electric chair, but that’s another post entirely. What I want to establish is that:
A. It's easy to interpret The Snitch’s execution (and the Reagent’s forced participation in it) as a symbolic enforcement of Murkoff’s construction of social dominance, akin to capital punishment or lynching/state sponsored terrorism. B. Men like Coyle were categorically responsible for orchestrating executions like the one in the game, and the fact that he gets so angry and addled about it even though he’s ostensibly a follower of their doctrine speaks to the nature of his ideology.
Though a lot of real world topics get touched on by Coyle's dialogue, it certainly isn’t 100% down-to-earth social critique. Many of his lines invite you to laugh at him (“It's hurtful when you disrespect the badge. I have feelings, too”/”Ain't you slicker'n a can of mashed assholes”) and his crimes themselves are, at times, overblown and ridiculous. He's a caricature of institutional violence and injustice, not a straight faced example of it. No, the realistic part of Coyle’s storyline is how the power structures of 1950s America both protected him from consequences and deliberately encouraged him to degenerate. I’ve alluded to this before: it’s one of my favorite things about Trials.
He was sent to military school because of his violent tendencies and joined the marines to avoid investigation after killing his first wife, but once he had the Police Department to shield him his behavior escalated in severity so much so that it attracted the attention of an even worse organization. The process was Military School → Ku Klux Klan → Marines → Police Department → Murkoff. This facet of the story was always there, but the newly released comic really hammers in the point, that Coyle - infantile, nonsensical, vulgarly abusive and utterly unworthy of authority - was never a barely tolerated outlier or a well kept secret within the systems he budded up from. The files directly attach his klan involvement to police work even as he's described as a “good cop:” because there were no good cops in Blackwell, because good cops aren’t real. US Law Enforcement can be traced back to early southern slave patrols, they've had a handshake agreement with the Klan for decades, and you need look no further than the recent Minneapolis Police Department exposé to see how they operate in the modern world - and this game is set sixty years before 2023. Horrifying, yeah?
Understanding cops themselves to be fundamentally immoral and unjust, by the time we meet him in the game, Coyle isn’t even a competent cop in terms of his willingness to enact unjust aims. Yes he is brutal, yes he is racist, yes he clings to the childish, cowardly belief in immutable superiority found in actual modern fascists - but the ouroboros of psychosexual issues driving him to behave the way he does take precedence over his purported devotion to any belief system, to such a degree that he isn’t even acting in explicit defense of an institution anymore. That job, to defend the current institution, is what the Reagents are being trained for: the same ones he deems subhuman and, most tellingly, “perverted.”
One thing that makes Coyle’s whole presence in Kill The Snitch  so surreal and disorienting is how manufactured and aimless his job as The Snitch’s defender really is. The man play acts an interrogation of someone who will never see trial, referencing vice squads, courts and elections that are nowhere to be found in the Sinyala facility - even though a different line of his mentions how they “don’t favor courts in these parts.” So, he’s directly contradicting himself. When the Snitch dies, he goes “NO! NO! I'll never... God DAMNIT,” not even finishing his own sentence about what it is he apparently needed The Snitch for.
The man obviously thinks otherwise, but he’s a make-believe cop, a test dummy for trainees to be pitted against ala shencomix’s professional hater. Though nowhere near as disenfranchised, Coyle is a puppet in Murkoff’s trials as much as the Reagents are, all his nasty, grandiose rhetoric ultimately amounting to hot air: and unlike the Reagents, this does not end with him being reborn. He lacks the overarching purpose of eventual service to a greater cause that they have.
And therein lies the self-destroying prophecy inherent to his understanding of reality. You can argue that Coyle is aware (subconsciously or otherwise) that there exists the potential for him to be otherized, and by extension subordinated, for an immutable part of himself which is directly attached to his sexuality and masculinity. I’d be surprised if he wasn't, considering how loudly the prejudices of the culture he arose from are relayed to the audience. The fear that comes from that knowledge gives birth to an obsession with categorism, shame, and “justice:” which he rationalizes as an immutable aspect of reality by connecting it with the natural phenomenon of lightning. (“I used to stand in a storm and watch the lightning strike the plains and I would think, "well there you go." That's justice. Sometimes the finger of God reaches down and touches you. But you never know which finger it is you're gonna get.”)
This leads to violence which he is constantly rewarded for: and because it’s the only viable outlet he has for exercising those very issues which he was trying to avoid confronting in the first place… he overindulges. Loses all interest in presenting the rhetoric coherently, in favor of chasing the immediate release that cruelty provides with ever-increasing vigor. (Funny how he calls the Reagents “dope addicted” too. Mr. Sony VPL strikes again!)
But in the end, Coyle is worthless. He’s a tool, designed to be overcome. It's a similarly symbolic, utilitarian role to that of The Snitch, which potentially feeds into his perverse sense of protectiveness over him, but the people who are coming out the other end of this with a job to do in the real world are the Reagents. People he looks down on, people he terrorizes, people he’s so desperate to bend to his will. He’s like... white chauvinism revealed as senseless, small and disgusting, condemned to chase its own tail & buckle under its own weight no matter how hard it shakes it's fist at the sky.
And in a series so fixated on delusion and the disintegration of the self, the nugget of reality within that was thrilling to see on screen. 10/10, would cringe at again.

Negan x TransMale!Reader (GN pronouns)
Synopsis: Negan offers some very Negan-esque support when he discovers that the Reader has had to deal with some transphobic issues at the Sanctuary.
CW: transphobia, no slurs used, Negan being very Negan, Negan being suggestive (as per usual), no pronouns used for the Reader though it is specified that they are trans male.
Requests are: OPEN
“Oh, fuck,” Negan says, looking almost like he’s about to panic. Which is decidedly not a common occurrence for him. “Shit, handsome- I didn’t mean it. I was just breaking your balls a little bit.”
You might have made a mistake here. Of all the people you could have screamed at- the leader of the Sanctuary was probably not the smartest choice. Oh, but you just couldn’t help it.
Not everyone stared, and not everyone was rude. There was pockets of kindness here and there- people who understood who you were and respected you for who you were.
As always, though, there were people who did not understand. People who looked at you weird or avoided you in the market. Negan had set out rules for basic respect, but that didn’t stop the occasional hate-speech or threat. It was the end of the world, after all, not Utopia.
“You have no idea what this is like, Negan,” you say with a sneer. He sets his jaw but doesn’t reply, letting you vent. “Every day someone makes a comment just loud enough that I can hear, or someone shoves into my shoulder. Or, hell, just the other day- someone called me something that was… absolutely vile.”
You point an accusatory finger at the man, whose gaze is getting darker with anger by the second.
“And you!” You start to raise your voice, and Negan’s lips twitch as if he’s trying not to grin. “You let it happen. And I am so sick of everyone’s fucking shit!”
Negan rubs a gloved hand over his chin, chuckling darkly as he does so.
“You done, gorgeous?” He asks, or tells, really. There’s no room for argument with the way he unclenches his jaw. “Because I have something to say, and you? You are gonna listen.”
Negan places Lucille carefully leaned against the table before rounding it to stand before you. You swallow thickly, not sure where this is going, but not sure you like it either.
“I need you,” he says slowly while raising a finger to brush your temple softly. “To cast your big ‘ol brain back a few days and really think about what I’m about to ask you.”
You stumble over a few attempts at speech before he shushes you softly.
“The fuckhead that broke the rules? Called you something he really shouldn’t have…” His eyes flit between yours, lips spreading out into a grin that would send molten heat through a celibacy-practicing nun. “...when did you see him last?”
You let out a little ‘uh’ sound, trying to order your brain to stop tumbling around and work out the answer. It had been three days since the slur, and… now that you were really thinking about it. You hadn’t seen him since. Usually he was always lurking around to get another shot in.
The realisation must have shown on your face, because Negan let out a throaty chuckle.
“See? Now you’re gettin’ it,” he says, leaning back against the table and crossing his arms. “Now, I know you wouldn’t want me killing anyone, so, don’t worry. He’s not dead.” You bit back the sarcastic comment that threatened to spill out.
Negan runs his tongue over his bottom lip as if savouring something very sweet. Your eyes track the movement, and you know he knows it.
“But that doesn’t mean he’s having a good time, either.”
“What did you, uh, do to him?” You ask, voice breathy with desire. No one had defended you quite like this before. And if you didn’t know any better, you’d think Negan was flirting with you just to make a point.
But it had been like this for months. Negan putting on all the charm when you were around, and doing his damndest to get you to open up to him. He didn’t care that you were trans, he liked you for you.
You liked him too, of course. How could you not? Big strapping man with big dick energy, a leather jacket and a phallic bat? What wasn’t to love?
“Oh, you know,” he chuckled. “Threw him the hole for a few days. Shit, I think he’s still in there.”
You stifled a smile, knowing that the asshole was now suffering for his crimes. Well, shit- turns out Negan did give a shit about your rights. It was almost like he was an active protestor for Trans Rights. The thought made you laugh.
“I’ll have to make a trip down there to see if he’s learned his lesson yet.”
This time you can’t bite back the smile, and he draws out an appreciative noise.
“Oh, there he is,” he brushes your chin with his thumb. “There’s that handsome smile. Fuck, you really turn me on, you know that?”
Your grin splits wider and blood rises to your cheeks.
“I’m serious!” He defends himself. “My dick is so hard right now- I could cut diamonds.”
You role your eyes at his theatrics, but he knows that you enjoy his crude comments. He knows you want him. His gaze softens for a moment, and the sincerity you see there almost makes you melt.
“No more hiding things from me,” he says. “Something happens- someone breaks the rules? You come find me.” Negan lets out a huff of a sigh, caressing your jaw now.
“Can’t have my handsome man upset, can we? I just live for that smile.”
You don’t even notice the grin spreading across your lips this time.
“Yeah, that’s the one…”

Milgram and The Prince
(A Companion to my Rose Bride post you can read here, not necessary to read as I reestablish all the necessary points I made there here but it be nice to see another person read it) (CWs: Unhealthy Power Dynamics, Sexism, Discussions of Ownership in the context of Marriage, allusions to sexual abuse)
(Spoilers for Utena!)
So, as I discussed in the post linked above. In Revolutionary Girl Utena, There is a dichotemy between a Prince and Princess, with Princesses being (in the shortest way I can explain it) an unrealistic and unhealthy expectation for women to fit into a role that Lacks Autonomy and Power, and if they don't they get demonized and branded as a Witch, and Princes is an unrealistic and unhealthy expectation for men to have Complete Power, Autonomy and Control over Princess.
When we get into the Rose Bride we delve into the ideas of ownership, abuse and demonization, as the Rose Bride should Obey Whatever Their Betrothed Tells Them To Do. This Prince is who we are focusing on for this post.
"She looks gallant in a guy's uniform, but she looks perfect in a dress, too!"
Let's start off with Mikoto and John, as they're the best jumping off point when talking about the dynamic of the Prince and the Rose Bride.
Now, while the Rose Bride (and princesses) as a Role is very traditionally feminine and rooted in gender and well, misogyny. Mikoto actually has been heavily Associated with traditionally feminine characteristics and stereotypes. (Mikoto Interrogations)
T1Q4: Do you pay attention to fashion? A: Of course. No one would want to request something from a designer with no fashion sense, right?
T1Q10: Have you ever gotten angry at other people? A: I don't think I've gotten angry before. Isn't it kind of disgraceful to get angry?
Me, the newborn other you
In Isolation, these characteristics don't hint at anything, however when them put together, plus idea that John was "born" from Mikoto and how he even gets tied into with the rest of the girls by how he repeats his T1 Title and is the Only Guy that does so creates a interesting association with Mikoto and Femininity.
Not only that but Mikoto is Heavily Sexualized In MeMe.
Tumblr media
A detail that's strange when even Yuno, who Wears Lingerie in Teardrop. Doesn't get sexualized in the same way Mikoto does. When Mikoto is on screen in MeMe the camera is Gazing at him. Watching him take off his shirt and bathe.
(Utena Scripts)
Anthy:  The one I'm engaged to can do as he pleases with me.
People haven noted that MeMe and Mikoto references a lot of classic horror and I'd like to mention that, not only is dying in a shower a common trope, especially in horror. It's a death that commonly happens to Women. To the point where, the TVTropes Page for Deadly Bath comments on it.
Whenever it's a killer or monster that's the cause of death, the victim is always a woman for some reason.
MeMe seems to be mainly referencing the 1960s Alfred Hitchcock film Psycho, and the most well known scene from the film is the murder of a woman in the shower.
Plus, said murderer, a character with a Very Demonized and Inaccurate Portrayal of DID, is also a transphobic stereotype who kills his mom and then dresses up as her to pretend that she's Still There.
Stepping aside the Many Issues with Psycho's Portrayal of DID and transphobia for a bit, these are More Examples of Mikoto being associated with Femininity.
But it doesn't even end there! Mikoto feels like a bystander in his own life, he's on a train going nowhere in Double. He's predicting his own fate in MeMe. He has no clue where his life is going and part of it is in the hand of someone he knows Nothing About. It's scary and terrifying and his agency is minimal and he doesn't even know who he really is at this point.
Why am I here? It must be a mistake? Take a good look at me Until you find me Why, hey why, I’m nowhere to be found So I will NEVER forgive you if this is happening to me even though I’m right Why, hey why, please let me out of here Please tell me it’s a mistake, that’s it’s a lie
I'd like to mention before I continue that Rypirotes actually pointed out this Exact Thing before! That Mikoto is the Damsel in Distress and John is his Heroic Knight. Or in my case, Mikoto is the Rose Bride, and John is the Prince.
Miki:  Her eyes are telling me... Miki:  that she wants to be set free. Miki:  I will protect you... Miki:  I will protect your beautiful sound, Himemiya-san!
Now the thing about the Princess/Prince dynamic in Utena is that it actually mirrors a dynamic present in Milgram, the Victim/Savior one. I mention this a bit in my Rose Bride post but I'm going to expand on it a bit more here.
We, the audience are very familiar with John positioning himself as Mikoto's savior, it's one of the first lines of Double we ever Heard.
Cling to me, hoist me up as your “savior”
Of course as we know Mikoto has been very Distressed about John and his presence. The loss of time and memory and control and the fear of not being the real "him" haunting him. Making him portray John in a more villainous and evil light.
Tumblr media
John is pretty upset about this, but less because he's being portrayed as a villain (though that frustration of trying so hard and yet being feared is a part of it) and more because he feels like he Ruined Mikoto's Life in his attempts to save him.
If only I were never born, if only Why, why I’m so sorry.
Utena:  Instead, I just kept on pretending to be the Prince who could save you. Utena:  I was just being conceited about protecting you.
As we know, John's statements in Neoplasma are Unreliable, as he seemingly tries to shift all the blame of the murders to him in an effort to protect Mikoto since he was Born to Do That.
(Neoplasma)
John: That’s right. I’ll have to disappear eventually, anyway… Disappear, and take all of it with me. I… was born to protect Boku, after all.
The problem is not John wanting to protect Mikoto. It's that John in the attempt to protect Mikoto, harms him. It's not out of malice or some inherent flaw in his birth or anything like that. It's because John treats Mikoto as powerless.
John: It’s true that I was the one who wanted to destroy everything… and the weakness of Boku, who couldn’t stand up for himself all alone, might have been the origin of that. But… that’s all there is to it. Is that a sin?
While John puts Mikoto on a pedestal he also believes Mikoto to be weaker and needing protection, and no matter how True that statement may be, the way he helps Mikoto makes him feel powerless, confused and like a bystander in his own life.
Anthy:  Because I'm the Rose Bride...because I'm a doll with no heart... Anthy:  I thought that no matter what befell my body, my heart wouldn't feel the pain.
Welcome home, another day, another day with that hardly barely there of a smile You’re overdoing it, you’re already broken
John doesn't want to hurt Mikoto, he really doesn't. He just doesn't know what else he could Possibly do, he was made to take all of this on. That's what a Prince does.
Saionji:  So you want to be the prince who saves the helpless princess?
So he pushes people away, hides things from Mikoto, and so on. Because even though he doesn't really know what Mikoto wants from him, he believes this is the only way to help him. (Thank you Laniemae for drawing his paranoia in particular to my attention!)
Utena:  When you were suffering so much...when I had said we should save each other... Utena:  I'M the one who's unfair. I'm the one who's dirty. Utena:  I'm the one who betrayed you.
Hey, I just wanted to save you So why did it come to this?
Which just makes Mikoto's feelings of powerless worse and causes him confusion, worry and stress. And when that reaches a breaking point, John will need to clean up whatever mess gets left behind and the cycle starts again.
The dynamic of the Rose Bride and the Prince is one built on a Horrific Power Imbalance. You don't want to be The Rose Bride, and you don't want to be The Prince either.
"Instead of a princess to be protected, I want to become a dashing prince."
It might be strange to have Kotoko here when the Prince as an archetype both in and out of Utena is associated with men, however the thing about Kotoko is that she idealizes The Prince.
Voice:  but because of the strength of her admiration for the prince, Voice:  the princess made up her mind to become a prince herself! Voice:  But is that really good for her?
Now let's get something out of the way before I start this section, Kotoko has gone On Record saying she isn't exactly attached to the concept of femininity. (Kotoko Interrogations)
T1Q10: What do you think about the word 'feminimity'? A: It's one of the means you can take. It's something you can freely choose depending on the scene, so it's not something to cling onto.
This is Perfectly Fine Actually, as is Utena wearing the boys uniform and having "masculine" interests. Every time we see Utena in girl's clothes in RGU it is when she's at her lowest point and being denied who she is.
The problem is not that they present outside of the gender binary/aren't attached to it, but that they idolize Unhealthy Ideals that Reinforce a hierarchy of power.
Anyways, as established with John, The Prince as a role is one built on having power over someone. By positioning yourself as someone's "savior" you hold power over them and, even if you don't want to, harm them as a result.
Kotoko has seen the world to be cruel and unfair and the systems in place to not be enough to keep law in order. She's frustrated by how powerless she is and acts to make the world "better."
Utena:  You don't see Himemiya as anything but the Rose Bride either, do you? Touga:  Is that wrong? Utena:  It is wrong! Utena:  Cut it out with that "Rose Bride" or "possession" nonsense.
(Task)
Kotoko: Yes. I hate evil. Hurting innocent people with violence, taking away from others, killing people… I hate all this evil behaviour! The law being unable to judge some sins, there's too many of these cases in this world. Having clearly bullied and torturing the weak, but exploiting loopholes in laws, there's so many sinners who still live in such a carefree manner!
It seems like Kotoko might have some unresolved and buried trauma here, as while Kotoko herself says she wasn't bullied. She also stated that when she was already the person she was now back when she was around Amane's age.
T1Q18: Have you ever been bullied in the past? A: No. Are people who've had such pasts the only ones who're allowed to hate evil?
20/6/18
Amane: I see…… You look scary at first impression, but I quite like the way you treat everyone equally regardless of whether they’re older or younger than you. You don’t just treat me like a child or anything like that. Kotoko: Treat you like a child? Hah, you’ve got to be kidding. Back when I was your age, I was already the person I am today.
1moremilgramfan's analysis on Kotoko's clothing in Harrow over here is a fantastic dissection of Kotoko's character design and this aspect of it in particular but my point is that Kotoko tries her best to look strong and powerful, even when she's in emotional distress. She must look strong and powerful and not Weak.
I wonder what that reminds me of.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kotoko idealizes the idea of there being some quick and easy way to save the whole world. Even if it isn't her that does it in the end.
I've chosen the awaited hero
But for now, if the system in place can't do it then She Will. She will the dashing prince that saves the helpless princess. She'll be the savior of the weak.
Let’s end this! “HARROW” “HARROW” I can’t forgive the evil hurting the weak It’s unforgivable, I won’t allow it, I sweared
But as I said, by positioning yourself as someone's Prince you begin to hold power over them and it's easy to start dehumanizing them and putting your wants and ideals above what they want. Their safety is reliant on yours after all. They can't fight back if you do something that harms them.
Utena:  That's right, I've got to protect Himemiya. Utena:  If anyone can return her to being a normal girl, it's me. Utena:  I can't let anyone else have her. Utena:  Not even my own prince.
Kotoko: From the begin I've never asked for your understanding! My actions, one by one, are bringing earth closer to peace. Useless Weaklings should just shut up and let me protect them!
And Kotoko seems to take a lot of joy and gratification in protecting people. She doesn't care as much about the victims as much as what she Gets Out of Saving them. Their wants are not as important as hers.
...Fufu... This feels so good.
Touga:  While she was engaged to you, the Code required her to obey you. Utena:  You're lying... Touga:  The Rose Bride answered the wishes of her master. Touga:  To make her an ordinary girl was merely what you wished.
By doing so, she perpetuates the cycle of violence she hated so much in the first place. You can see this in T2, by persecuting the guilty voters and physically harming them because she believes she's justified. Exerting power from them in a physical way and wanting to vote more people not forgiven so she can continue handing out righteous judgement.
Kotoko: I handed out retribution to the prisoners you chose to not forgive. Following MILGRAM’s system, I didn’t finish them off right away. You still need time to think, after all. …What’s with that face…? Aside from following your will, I’m deciding to leave the rest up to you. But… You’re too soft-hearted. I would have chosen to not forgive more prisoners. It’d be better if I were the prison guard… Well, just one thing is missing, I guess… I’ll stay put for now. I’ll wait until your next judgement is over, and then I’ll take action. Don’t worry, I’m on your side. Let’s bring judgement to the unforgivable evildoers.
These actions are harmful and dehumanizing, the victims are not people but a means to an end. It doesn't matter what Happens to them or even to Herself, as long as righteous judgement is brought upon those who "deserve it" for whatever reason she can come up with.
Kotoko idealized the idea of being a savior, and in the process, turned herself into a tool to harm.
Akio:  I've taken enough risks to buy the power to change the world. Akio:  That's how the world works-
"It's alright now. Please go on playing make-believe "Prince" in this comfortable little coffin forever."
Now, again you don't want to be the prince. as The Prince is an unachievable ideal that harms everyone and perpetuates cycles of violence.
However unlike the Rose Bride, the Prince Has More Power and Agency. Whoever is engaged to the Rose Bride has power over her. So, if your worldview can only perceive the roles of Prince and Princess, Savior and Victim, then of course you would want to be The Prince.
Let's talk Shidou Kirasaki.
Now, similar disclaimer to Amane's in the previous analysis. Since I've delving into the abuse the Prince perpetuates in a bit more detail. I am once again stating that while I Will Not discuss csa and sa in general here since we have no proof of Shidou doing that and for the sake of tact. However it will be Alluded to vaguely in the dialogue, especially since I'm focusing on the perpetrators of that abuse.
Once again, do what is good for your health and stay safe.
Now, unlike most of the princes in Utena, Shidou isn't doing this necessarily out of malice, he is not as bad as Akio Othori and I'm not going to pretend he is.
However even if his actions aren't necessarily done out of Malice it doesn't mean he doesn't benefit from it nor does it mean he doesn't harm anyone.
Now I talked a lot about Amane in my Rose Bride analysis but as I mentioned their, people are always constantly presenting themselves to Amane as "her prince," and are frustrated and upset when Amane shows that she can't be the victim they want her to be and Shidou is no exception to this.
22/10/24 (Shidou’s Birthday)
Amane: I warned you. I can no longer turn a blind eye to this wickedness taking place right in front of us. You’re bringing ruin unto yourself. Do you understand? Shidou: No, I don’t understand. It’s my job as an adult to teach you that throwing a temper tantrum isn’t going to make everything go your way.
In fact Shidou parallels her abusive parents a lot in his behavior by constantly ignoring and outright dismissing Amane's feelings and thoughts because he believes that Amane is "just a child."
20/06/13
Amane: ……*sigh*. Is that right. I don’t think I’m going to get along with you, Shidou-san. I don’t agree with the fact you refuse to acknowledge that I have my own free will, and that I should be held accountable for my actions, just because I’m a child. I may have only been alive for 12 years, but all the choices I’ve made, even if they weren’t the best ones, were entirely my own. What point is there in you getting sad when I have no regrets myself? ……please give me back my test. It seems you don’t have the concentration levels required to be my teacher. I’m going to get Kotoko-san to teach me instead. Shidou: Amane…… I don’t think that’s true. However smart you may be…… you’re still just a child.
Shidou doesn't see Amane as a person, he sees her as "child" and thus has less agency than Him. He's the one who should be making decisions for her because he's an adult. Whenever she reacts in a way he doesn't like he dismisses it, she's having one of the Worst Periods of Her Life right in front of him and he's dismissing it as just throwing a tantrum, something silly and childish.
Akio:  A child like you can't appreciate my ideals.
This isn't the only person he does this to, as Es also experiences his belittling and patronizing way of treating children. (Molech)
Shidou: Ah, well… I was just thinking about how despite being a child, you’ve really done your research on this. Es: Hey. [footsteps] You trying to make fun of me, is that it?  Shidou: What? Oh, no. I wasn’t trying to do anything like that. Es: You were. Something’s been on my mind ever since the very beginning… “Es, this. Es, that.” It’s the belittling way you refer to me…  I’m the prison guard, you know that? Shidou: Oh, I’m completely aware of that. But, you’re still a child in actuality. Coming from me, who’s almost twice the age as you are, I just…  Es: What is it? Shidou: For a child like you to be entrusted with this sort of role… My heart goes out to you.
In a way he's exerting power over the both of them through this, he's an adult, more responsible and powerful than the both of them. It's, frankly, dehumanizing.
If the Rose Bride is an object to be projected on, the Prince is the one doing the projecting.
And as explained in the Rose Bride post, coffins in Utena represent cycles and eternity and to grow you need to break out of it. Shidou is stuck in his own coffin, keeps on trying to return to a life that Doesn't Exist Anymore and when he's faced with that knowledge and the way he's harmed the people around him because of that he continues to spiral.
Tumblr media
He wants to die but he can't do it himself so he pushes the responsibility onto someone he doesn't consider as a person.
Shidou: I feel sorry that you had to be given this role. And, I truly apologise for being so insistent about sentencing me to death as well…  But, you’re perfect. You’ll give me the ending I’m most suited for.
He wants to make up for his mistakes as a parent and pushes that onto someone he can project onto, even though that person has made it very clear how unwelcome and even painful it is for him to do that.
Shidou: Yeah. I’ll do what I can. I can’t have a child making a face like that.
He wants to live but he can only live if someone else is in pain because that means he has a reason to continue existing.
But there are lives that need safeguarding So hey, prolong my life, I’m indispensable
Shidou has fully admitted that he thinks his crime is a selfish one, he did it for himself. No matter How or Why he killed, we know he didn't value the people he killed that much.
“Throw down”, someone’s value Cannot be the same as another
You're in my way, hurry up and die.
The value comes from what they give to him, and in the end, their death was much more valuable to him than their life.
"The One Who Will Revolutionize the World"
Frankly, it's kinda pathetic to be a Prince.
It's is a coffin that one can stay in forever if they don't do anything. Something that harms you and everyone else...mostly everyone else. It's a role that brings about stagnation and immaturity. You can never revolutionize the world by being a Prince, all your doing is just perpetuating a cycle of harm.
Maybe Kotoko and Shidou will stay in their coffins, who knows really with them. They don't seem particularly in a hurry to get out, they don't even seem to notice their trapped in the first place.
Mikoto though...well...John really does want to understand, and Mikoto really does want to know what's happening.
And maybe that's enough.
Anthy:  But, you're a... Utena:  I came here to meet you. Utena:  So don't be afraid of this world where we'll meet. Utena:  ...Himemiya...Himemiya...Himemiya! Utena:  Himemiya! Anthy:  Utena...sama...? Utena:  Himemiya...we finally...meet.
END NOTES: I don't usually put these but since I plan to make this two part series one post minus the utena I might as well talk a bit.
I end this and the Rose Bride one so sappily but that's mostly cause I always need to remind myself after writing these that it's a Breakable Cycle. You write 2k+ words about characters being trapped in coffins and it Gets To You.
I'm so sorry to Fuuta for leaving him out of this...Mikoto and Kotoko kinda took your place...I know your literally a hero in your MV but I could not find a way to put you here without bloating it too much.
Funnily enough while the Rose Bride post had a lot to talk about The Prince is weirdly easy to summarize, the longest part here is when I talk about the themes of the Rose Bride and how that intersects with Mikoto. Though maybe that's just me. Another reason to write the compilation I guess.
I Swear there was more quotes about children and adults in Utena- I suppose it's a lot of its themes on adulthood are communicated visually and/or involve sex so like...yknow. Plus I'd have to explain the cars and it would take me all my effort to not put the Shiori car quote.

The Norwegian Supreme Court Confirms Conviction Against Transphobe
Tumblr media
Norway’s parliament outlawed hate speech against transgender people back in 2020, expanding a law that had protected gay and lesbian people since 1981. Now the Norwegian Supreme Court has confirmed that it takes this part of the law seriously.
The hate crime law now also covers “trans persons and others who have a gender identity or a gender expression that contradicts the expectations found in their environment.”
A 53 year old man from the Bergen region in Norway had been given a prison sentence and a fine for transphobic hate speech, a verdict that made its way up to the Supreme Court.
Norwegian transgender LGBT+ activist Christine Marie Jentoft reports on twitter:
“Norway now has its first Supreme Court decision regarding hate speech on the basis of gender identity and gender expression. The Supreme Court upheld that the person responsible was guilty of hate speech.
Gender identity and gender expression came into the law in 2021 and shortly after a trans woman reported a man for hate speech after an interaction on Facebook. They had argued and the man had said that (CW: transphobic language):
- Perverted man-pigs who insist that they are little girls have no defamatory power, strictly speaking. - Do you really think that a single person thinks you are a woman and not an old man with weird fantasies.
- Having said that, it is incomprehensible to me that the authorities still allow you to have care responsibilities for children. - ‘B’ [referring to the victims legal name] does not exist. It is a sick fantasy in C's mind. [C refers to the victim’s deadname].”
The man was first convicted in the District Court in the West of Norway, then it was appealed to the Court of Appeals, who upheld the verdict.
After being appealed again to the Supreme Court, they upheld the verdict, but lowered the sentence to 15 days prison, but with a probation time of two years not needing to serve the time, and a fine of 15 000 NOK.”
This is about harassment, not free speech
The question was whether the statements were punishable under paragraph 185 of the Penal Code, which among other things covers hate speech made because of a person's gender identity or gender expression.
The Supreme Court states that the threshold for punishment is the same for all the groups protected under this law.
Anti-trans activists have tried to pain the court’s decision as an attack on free speech. The court has clearly been prepared for such an argument and  underlines that there is a large scope for statements related to gender identity and gender expression. What the provision covers is typically incitement and bullying with gross denigration of a person or a group as a result of their gender identity and gender expression.
The Supreme Court concludes that the comments the defendant had made on Facebook were qualified as offensive and punishable, confirming the verdicts made by the District Court and the Court of Appeal.

TW for transphobia CW for harry potter / hogwarts legacy. Also i dont feel comfortable saying JK (especially since the k doesnt stand for shit) so for context i'm talking about her when saying Joanne.
This is a very ranty post and might not be formatted the best and might come off as very angry but i just need to get this opinion off of my chest. Ive tried to make a post a few times but each time i chicken out because im so scared some terf sees it and will send me death threats.
I hate hogwarts legacy. I HATE that people are defending it. At first plenty of people saw Joanne's tweets and said "i support trans people" but now its "well i can like and buy her game because she isnt involved in it and *I* deserve to enjoy it." And the same people who said they supported us are suddenly turning around and insulting us for being worried.
A bunch of trans people i follow on twitter have spoken out on how buying the game is giving direct money to her is dangerous to the community. And i swear transphobes are explicitely looking up these posts because all of them have been getting harassed by transphobes. Sometimes its someone who doesnt understand the harm expressing their love for the series but mostly the comments will be plain transphobia to "fight the woke".
And now everyone is defending the streamers who played the game and allegedly received death threats over it. I'm not saying that they deserve death threats, that's a fucked up thing to do. But trans people have been getting death threats for speaking against the game for months and no one batted an eye?
You know what ive seen on posts from trans people showing that theyve been receiving death threats for being against the games? "You deserve it" "*transphobic stereotype i feel uncomfy repeating*" "thats probably fake" "oh so you guys can send death threats but we cant"
Ive witnessed more trans people being threatened by hp fans and transphobes then ive witnessed trans people do the same to streamers. What i HAVE seen plenty of is trans people trying to calmly explain why the game is harmful and getting that harassment.
FUCK 👏 HOGWARTS 👏 LEGACY
Fuck the game, fuck the franchise, fuck Joanne and especially fuck the people who only cared about death threats when they were directed at cis people playing the game

Ok tho! For my request, could I request Raihan and Leon protecting and comforting their trans masc s/o from homophobic/transphobic family? Kinda like you did with the obsessive ex ones?
Tired of people thinking that constant emotional and physical abuse is some kind of love language lol. Sorry if this is like, heavy (feel free to ignore it btw I'm gunna be fine in the end, just annoyed to hell at how much contact people can still manage to have with you despite trying to be completely no contact)
-🦄
I understand! I hope you’re doing well. (I meant to get this out yesterday.)
Reader uses he/him pronouns and masc descriptors.
CW : for homophobia, transphobia. (But not explicit explicit, as that makes me uncomfy)
-
-
🐉Raihan🐉
- he was already aware of your family, and their dislike (to put it lightly) of you essentially. It was one of those things you two had a heart to heart on, late at night.
- It broke his heart to see you cry, just how upset you were that you had to go no contact with your old family. But you had to, for the sake of your own mental health and safety.
- Raihan vowed right then and there that he won’t let another soul hurt you.
- Everyone in Galar knows who you are, Raihan is never quiet about you and his love for you.
- Most of Raihan’s posts are ‘out with my man!’ And it’s a picture of you two, getting lunch after a battle, ‘I got the handsomest dork around.’ It’s a picture of your excited face over some merch, ‘he fell for my trap! >:3’ and the most common being Raihan trapping you, in his arms so you can’t move, or leave.
- It’s always so cute, the fans love seeing all the stupidly domesticate photos.
- Your family however, also saw them.
- Any of their comments were shortly deleted and they were blocked. Every profile they made was just blocked and reported.
- Raihan refused to let you see that, especially from them.
- He wants to keep you happy and safe, safer and happier.
- He made a post earlier that day, saying ‘get you a man who comes to your work place with your favorite for lunch😩’
- You couldn’t stick around, however, work needed you, so you gave him a hug and a kiss before leaving. Making a pit stop to the bathroom first, but still telling him you’d have to instantly leave once you’re done.
- His own students laugh at his pouting face.
- He hasn’t been expecting your parents of all people, to show up.
- The tension in the gym was thick, the air suffocating the second he saw them.
- His students tried to keep Raihan from lunging at them, when they asked for someone who doesn’t exist.
- His grin was filled with malice “oh that’s too bad! Sorry to hear your delusional, ain’t nobody I know named that.”
- Oh but they argued.
- They didn’t get far though before Raihan called a life long ban for them, and anyone associated with them.
- Tossing out his flygon, he had the large dragon drag them out of his gym. Raihan follows close behind, just so he could slam the door in their faces.
- “Raihan?”
- He snaps his head towards you, he nearly forgot you were simply in the bathroom.
- “Hey handsome!” He didn’t want to admit he was nervous.
- He knows you likely heard, if not, saw all of that.
- You just walk over and hug him, he can feel the tension in your body.
- How you shake, sighing against his chest.
- His arms are around you in a firm grip.
- The dragon type gym leader is livid, you shouldn’t have to deal with this!
- “Call out of work, we are goin home.”
- “Huh? Rai I-“
- “Ah ah ah! You need a spa day! A self care day! And I’m going to make sure you get.”
-
👑Leon👑
- he’s just as upset as you are, that you had to cut contact with your family.
- Leon has always been a big family man, they mean the world to him! He couldn’t imagine not having their support, and love.
- Which is why he was ecstatic when his family welcomed you with open arms.
- He was more worried about Hop liking you. But you and Hop get along like best friends, so he was thrilled.
- Leon always gushes about you, everyone who has met Leon knows about you. He just can’t help himself! He loves you so much.
- He’s aware of your situation with your ex family, and he promises he will do everything he can.
- It’s no secret you’re dating the champion of Galar.
- Any remarks about you, his and your sexuality, or your gender are completely shut down. He refuses to tolerate any of it.
- Your birth givers were no exception.
- In fact not only was he at your defense, ready to battle, but so was Hop, grandma, grandpa, and mom.
- “That’s my boyfriend you’re talking about!”
- You’re in shock and awe at how Leon, your sweet dorky Leon, lays into them, scolding them harshly.
- Humiliating them and berating them for every hurting you and trying to hurt you now.
- He will not just stand there and let them do such things!
- The second they are gone he’s at your side, gently shushing you, and holding you, rocking you both softly.
- “Are you alright, love?”
- “I’m fine…thank you.” You just lay your head on his shoulder, trying to calm your own nerves.
- He will stay here for as long as it takes.
- He loves you.
