Let there be Light
You probably noticed that one of the lamps in Aziraphale’s bookshop goes out after he gets into the elevator, clearly visible in the final shot. But of course this is Good Omens and the lamps aren’t just lamps, so let’s slither inside for a better look at what’s going on. Sometimes a little perspective change makes all the difference.
Tumblr media
The twin lamps are actually statues of two brass cherubs facing the interior of the bookshop — their own world — just like the two angels we saw Before the Beginning facing the creation of the solar system, their current home. Aziraphale always on the left, Crowley on the right.
Tumblr media
The fact that it’s the right — Crowley’s — lamp that broke at the end of the Final Fifteen can mean two things. Either the light of his life has left him that morning and the lamp reflects his loss, or just like a porch lamp it indicates that he’s the one not home, but in Heaven.

i know loads of people talk about what aziraphale would/will look like when/if he falls BUT what about what crowley would look like if he never fell
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
i feel like he's a hopeless romantic, wishing he could be a normal person able to fall in love without a problem, to have a family, to be able to meet new people. i feel like he tried to meet humans and once met someone that he loved (platonically) and even made himself look older to be able to carry on being with them. but then they withered and died, and crowley had to watch someone he loved leave(/ref), crowley was never the same and vowed to never become close to a human again. but he kept a photograph of them as a reminder of what happens when you become too close.

I finished season 2! I think I’m not as wrecked as I thought I might be based on the spoilers I’ve seen partially because of the spoilers. But also because it makes so much sense for it to end the way it ended. I’m still processing, but will definitely have Thoughts
There was a lot of tragic moments in the last episode.
Slight spoilers:
The tragedy is that while Crowley & Aziraphale have been essentially married for centuries, it’s never been spoken. Nina & Maggie were so valid for telling Crowley they needed to talk. And it had to be Crowley, not Aziraphale, because Crowley could actually listen while Aziraphale wouldn’t pay attention.
The tragedy is that Gabriel & Beelzebub were able to be happy together because they were willing to let everything else go, while Aziraphale still optimistically believes he can change things for the better. Crowley’s absolutely right about Heaven & Hell being toxic. I’m so glad he finally said it.
Honestly the look on Crowley’s face when he suggested Alpha Centuri was worse than Aziraphale saying he forgave him. And that call back is so fascinating, as the context of the first season is so different
Oh yeah: “We call it the Second Coming”??? Jesus???
I can totally see Neil Gaiman & Terry Pratchett talking about a sequel where JC comes back to Earth & how the disaster husbands would manage it

Yeah, I know, “Thursday…” is a real good fic.
But first of all: Fergus!! 😳What is that?! Did your mother force you to do that?
Oh, she didn’t?!
And WHY do you flame your arm then?! 😰🥺🫣
To catch more readers?! Are you mad?!
🤬 STOP DOING THIS!! 🤬
I never asked you to do that!
NOBODY said you have to do that.
Not Cas! Don’t lie. And not Dean! Garth wouldn’t do that either! He is your friend.
As Bobby mentioned last week Thursday… is an “under the radar fic”, an “insider tipp”, Nobody needs to be seriously hurt himself for it.
That’s not worth it! COME ON! You are too smart for that! After all, it’s just a fic! Just a story I created. And, I tell you what, if I made my peace with less attention, you can handle that too.
It’s still good, that’s why we meet here, but please, PLEASE, turn of the flame!
So, now about you: what’s your next plan? Do you want to finish school?
Not your cup of tea? Funny. And very British by the way.
Of course I know you are from Scotland. Don’t you think I know this? I was the one who wrote your words.
Anyhow, go on. What’s your plan?
Oh, that’s nice. Searching for true love. You deserve it buddy. You are a funny guy and good looking.
Of course you find someone.
Yeah, that very special person.
If I will write about it?
What do you think. I will not leave you hanging.
Of course I’ll continue writing. No matter what. I love you people… on a platonic way…
Oh, come on, shut up!
So, before this conversation will getting even more weird, shoot: what song you like.
Anyone. Of course

Things I require from Good Omens season 3;
A solid plot,
Crowley not immediately forgiving Aziraphale but actually telling him how much he hurt him by insinuating that Crowley as he is isn't enough for him bc of how excited he got at the prospect of Crowley being an angel again,
Aziraphale doing the apology dance, and also explaining that he was trying to make the universe a safe place for Crowley but still admitting that he done goofed up,
The Kiss 2 but softer,
Crowley crying,
Muriel being Crowleys little sibling that he's begrudgingly taken under his wing,
Nina and Maggie ripping into Aziraphale for leaving them to pick up the pieces of a broken demon after they convinced him to confess his feelings,
Crowley not removing and actively putting on his glasses around Aziraphale for at least two episodes, whilst being comfortable having them off around Muriel,
Muriel awkwardly hugging Crowley because it's a gesture of comfort they just learned and just wants to help their sad demon feel better. Crowley protests but returns the hug,
Crowley and Aziraphale both confessing their love and ending the series in earth happy and together and alive, holding hands.
Bonus points if Crowley becomes a snake at some point. Also if Crowley appears to sacrifice himself for Aziraphale but is in fact not dead, but Aziraphale doesn't know that and mourns him for at least half an episode

Okay but can we talk about how happy I am about all the huskerdust?
No spoilers, but it does mention some… feelings that the ending of Good Omens 2 may cause. It also mentions the finale of Supernatural but the show is so old that I don’t really think it counts as a spoiler- if you’re on Tumblr you probably know of the injustices of that ending. But in case you somehow live under a rock, the mention is also very vague and only about my feelings on it. I know it’s just small little moments and hints at it being canon but AH- I’ll take anything I can get after that Good Omens 2 finale, because THAT- That was not okay 😭 I won’t leave any spoilers- Anyone who hasn’t seen it yet can just watch and suffer like the rest of us. We can all cry together 🥲
But yeah I was still reading Destiel fix-it fics because after all this time I’m STILL not over that, and now I have to cope with what’s going on with Ineffable husbands- so I really needed a win. Thank you Vivziepop. Thank you Amazon.

Have you noticed how Crowley’s main objective this season is basically running to the rescue and saving others? First and foremost Aziraphale, obviously, but also Jim — both from the official manhunt and from himself, like in the window jump scene — and multiple humans.
Tumblr media
Crowley started off as an angel willing to question the highest — and only — authority in order to save not only his newest creations, but the whole vast, beautiful universe from the unjustified and untimely destruction.
Tumblr media
Crowley was the one who stopped Sitis from cursing God — even when her own husband and a literal flock of angels stood in silence. Not to mention saving the kids of two species from a Heaven-sanctioned death sentence.
Tumblr media
Crowley was the one who self-sacrificed in order to drive away Elspeth from suicide and make sure that she’ll be taken care of for the rest of her life, effectively minimizing her struggles.
Tumblr media
Crowley was the one who saved Nina and Maggie from the demons appearing on Whickber Street at dusk and directed them to follow the light of their bookshop, a safe harbor by design and by choice.
Tumblr media
Crowley was the one who also made up a nonexistent rule to safely evacuate almost all of the humans out of what started as a monthly Whickber Street Shopkeepers and Street Traders Association meeting and ended up as a literal war zone.
Tumblr media
Literally in every episode of S2 Crowley is showing a consistent pattern that‘s not only painfully in-character for him, but also more than common among human trauma survivors and those struggling with mental health issues.
According to research, doing nice things for people and focusing on the needs of others may actually help those with depression and anxiety feel better about themselves. They’re basically offering others the same kind of help they need or needed in the past.
Tumblr media
By saving all of those people, Crowley is not only extremely kind as the angel he used to be, but also subconsciously processing his past mistakes and traumas. He becomes a protector of the oppressed and guardian of the weak, taking under his wings those he deeply identifies with.
The fallen angel who asked too many questions, who hanged with the wrong crowd, who got rejected by his peers, who cursed God, who went through what seems like panic attacks, depressive episodes, and contemplated suicide by Holy Water, who understands love… became a patron saint.
Tumblr media
Like Saint Anthony is a patron of lost things, Anthony J. Crowley is a patron of the seemingly lost cases. But remember that this level of heroic sanctity in life can also lead to martyrdom or heresy later on — a saint is supposed to intercede, not act on their own like God does.

Pt XIII good omens: The Adventures of Crowley and Aziraquail (Ages 3+)
@innefableidiot Shout out to you for my Good Omens villain arc origin story. I saw your Duck Omens, I reblogged it thinking I had too small of an attention span to watch a whole show, but the Duck Crowley and Aziraphale looked so adorable anyway. But I had flirted with the devil, Good Omens took over my dash, I made a summary, and here we are. This is in honour of you.
Good Omens, as a toddler's book. Yes I wrote an entire toddler's story for this post. If you do like this ridiculous thing, it would be nice if you could reblog it :") That's the only way it can get to more people. And god knows the children of divorce need a good bedtime story. So here you are, to heal the pain.
Crowley the Crow had always been a naughty little bird. Look at him go, flapping over the street... He wanted to steal something! Oh, no, Crowley. Stealing isn't very nice of you.
"I'm not nice," cawed Crowley. "Not nice at all."
Aziraquail the Quail sat near, on a telephone line. He was eating a piece of grain. Munch, munch, much, went Aziraquail. He saw Crowley and waved his wing.
"Crowley!" trilled Aziraquail. "What are you up to?"
"I'm going to steal something," said Crowley. He waved back. Aziraquail was his friend, and it is polite to greet your friends. That's how they know you care! "Look, Aziraquail, that human has a very shiny ring!"
"It is a very shiny ring," Aziraquail said, looking down. Aziraquail wanted to tell the truth. He didn't always succeed, but that's okay! It's very, very important to try. "But Crowley, you can't steal the very shiny ring! It doesn't belong to you."
Crowley was very confused. He landed on the telephone line beside Aziraquail. "But if the very shiny ring belonged to me, how would I steal it?"
Aziraquail sighed. But he decided to explain it to Crowley anyway. Sometimes, people aren't trying to be bad! They just don't know any better. "You shouldn't steal it at all, Crowley. Stealing will make the human sad."
"Oh goodie," said Crowley. "That sounds fun."
"No!" cried Aziraquail. Aziraquail didn't like the sound of that, not one bit. "Crowley, don't make the human sad. Or I shan't be your friend."
Crowley thought over that. He didn't like that. Aziraquail was his very best friend. Friends are very important, and Crowley knew that. But oh! He did so want that very shiny ring.
Crowley looked down at the human again. No, Crowley! Don't do it!
With a flap of his wings, and a flip of his wings, down Crowley flew, to snatch the human's very shiny ring! Oh, dear, Crowley. How very naughty of you.
But what was this? Crowley bumped straight into the human's head! He bounced off and away he went, landing with a huff on the pavement. That's the part next to the street.
The human was very cross. "Come back here, you bad bird!" she shouted. That wasn't polite of her, was it? When you're upset with someone, you shouldn't shout right away. What if it had been an accident?
"It wasn't an accident," said Crowley. He was grumpy. "I wanted to steal her very shiny ring."
Naughty Crowley.
The human ran towards Crowley to scold him. Poor Crowley! But just as the human stepped off the street, along came a very fast bike, and whoosh! Away it went, just missing the human.
Oh my. You mustn't speed on streets like that, very fast bike! You could have hit somebody. Look at that sign over there. This street is for pedestrians, too! Pedestrians is a grown-up way of saying people who aren't on a vehicle. Grown-ups like fancy words.
"Wait a moment," said the human. She stopped and looked at Crowley. "Oh, little crow, you saved me! I could have been hit!"
Crowley blinked. He was very confused. But he'd been trying to be naughty!
"Thank you!" said the human. "Oh, thank you, little bird. What can I do for you?" She looked down at her hand. "Crows like shiny things, don't they? Here, take this very shiny ring. I got it for free with sweets, and I don't even like it."
She gave Crowley the very shiny ring.
"Thank you," said Crowley, because he might be a naughty little crow, but he was a very polite little crow.
The human waved goodbye, and went on her way. Aziraquail landed on the pavement next to Crowley.
"Oh, Crowley," said Aziraquail. "You aren't very good at being naughty, are you?"
"Yes I am!" said Crowley.
Aziraquail smiled. "But you saved the human! And you didn't steal the ring. She gave it to you all by herself, as a reward. Isn't that much nicer?"
"I'm not nice," said Crowley. Oh, Crowley, you silly, silly, crow. "Well, if I'd done it your way, she wouldn't have been saved! So you aren't very good at being nice."
Aziraquail looked sad. Crowley didn't like that. Aziraquail was his friend, and friends don't make each other sad.
"I'm sorry," said Crowley. "But don't you want to know why I wanted the very shiny ring?"
Oh my, Crowley. Why did you want the very shiny ring?
"To be naughty," said Aziraquail. He was still hurt. Sometimes, even when you say sorry, it isn't enough. And that's okay.
"No," said Crowley. He held it out with his little crow beak, and put it on Aziraquail's foot! "It was for you! Because you're my very best friend."
"We're not friends," said Aziraquail. Sometimes, when we're hurt, we say things we don't mean.
Crowley looked sad. "We're not?"
Aziraquail thought and thought. And decided that he had been rather silly. "I'm sorry," he said too. "Of course we're friends. Thank you for the very shiny ring, Crowley!"
Crowley smiled his naughty little smile.
And then, oh my! How cute. Aziraquail leaned over and gave Crowley a kiss on his feathery little cheek. "It's very pretty. I love you, Crowley!"
It is very important to tell your friends that you love them. You don't have to say it with words. Crowley said it with a little kiss back, because he was too shy to speak.
What a very nice crow you are, Crowley.
"I'm not nice!"
"Crowley!"
"Okay, fine, just a little bit."
The End.

A weird ficlet I wrote last night before bed titled, "A Demon Gets His Due."
Summary: Where Crowley finds AO3 and discovers tags about himself, making Aziraphale increasingly nervous. (rated M, 544 words).
Intro excerpt under the cut.
“Smutty smut smut smut,” mumbled Crowley.
“Pardon?”
“Smut, angel. It's all over the Internet.”
Crowley sat on the sofa and leisurely scrolled through title after title on his phone. There were hundreds of them. Thousands. A fathomless archive of innumerable stories that he had stumbled upon online.
“And here's more smut!” Crowley exclaimed.
“That's lovely dear.” Aziraphale anxiously glanced at his demon before returning to his novel and flipping the page.
“Have you seen what people are saying about us?”
“Er…no.”
Aziraphale was lying. He had discovered the site a week ago—and had spent another eight hours reading everything he had found. And while he'd never admit it to anyone, he had also created his own account and had been scribbling away ever since...
You can read the rest here.

Imma use my hottake post to explain it since I felt I should give more context with this take to explain myself why I have this opinion on the topic of this.
For those who don’t know or don’t wanna look back with the link, it basically that my hottake is that I don’t like the theory of what Crowley’s angel name was/could’ve been. I know this might be a bit controversial since I think everyone in this fandom (not to assume ofc), and whilst I get the curiously since Crowley almost never talk about his time over at heaven, mostly for valid reason that I’ll get to. Before I get into this, I know it been month but I wanna still give that this haunted blog/post does contain heavy spoilers so if your planning to watch good omens or haven’t seen season two yet go watch it and come back here, or you can still read— what can I say, I’m only a phantom that have lot to say about good omens and making it everyone else’s problem. But still spoiler warning ahead! So without further or do,
let get into it and talk about our favorite snake demon and a good old fashion lover boy/girl/enby—
Tumblr media
So, okay, seeing Angel Crowley, that’s cool and honestly wholesome— despite the poor trauma he’s going to endure and will sauntered vaguely downward for. I remember hearing the theory about how his name could be Raphael, seen some AO3 tags of Crowley used to be Raphael or just people buzzing what his name could’ve been (even some saying it could be Castiel or Cassiel). And while the curiously of it all is cool, for a while I couldn’t really pin it at first as to why I personally didn’t like it. And Idk if that make be boring or a bitch for not wanting to know, it just to me, I felt why does it matter if Crowley himself don’t even want to remember about his time at heaven?
Sure season 2 when he didn’t even say it might have been what spiked it, but i think the whole point about him is the fact that he clearly moved on from it. Does he still hold resentment? Of course, why wouldn’t he be? And from unfair circumstances too:
Tumblr media
But, as we’ve seen from most of the flashback, he moved on from it. He using hell as long as he can (lonely? Yep, which is a perfect parallel to how Aziraphale following heaven—), he doesn’t want to remember the angel he is before, he even said it to Aziraphale when he tried to stop him from killing Job’s kids. But I think of how he’s dealt with is how his trauma grew seeing how he doesn’t want to be considered nice or kind; I feel it goes deeper than just because he’s a demon now, I believe (and this is just my observation), he rather not remember the kinder side he was once before because of how the “light” casted him away and how heaven runs things. So why would he want to be associated with those word when it remind him of his time, he rather not remember it (or in a case run away from heaven as much as he can), he rather associate himself from being mean or remember himself as a demon now rather than an angel he once was. (Even though, he is very kind and I wish to hug him. Don’t start-).
Plus, he more comfortable with his new name now, that’s why he even changed it back at the flashback of the crucifixion of Jesus as his named used to be Crawly (which honestly real.) and changed it to Crowley (now technically he changed it again to Anthony J Crowley, but we hardly heart anyone even Aziraphale say it outside from the blitz flashback, so I kinda wanna count it but I’mma not just incase, but I like the name tho-), and since then, he’ve wore that name proudly and never look back, and Aziraphale an ally he is suppose him and call him by his prefer name. That is him saying “I’m not whoever I was before, so I’m going to change my name to move on from my past”, and honestly I stand, I love the fact he want to move on from his time as an angel/move away from his deadname to be the person he is today, proud of the wily serpent ^v^
Tumblr media
“But phantom, that still doesn’t explain why you dislike it?”
You’re right, it still doesn’t so imma explain it a bit more, I just feel it shouldn’t matter what his name was, it really up to his (or Neil’s but this is Crowley we’re talking about) own terms, it him that should be able to say his deadname. And if it never reveal, I wouldn’t care since Good Omens from both season shown, Crowley moved on from his angelic past even if he have the grudges he have now after 6000 years he rather accepts his life now and hopefully with the Angel that have supported him and stood by him. And I know the finally is making it seem like Azirapahel want to change him, but like I said here that I don’t think that the case, I don’t think he would ever want him to revert back to the person he was once before, he could never ask Crowley to do such a thing knowing the progress he made. Like I said and will say again, I think this was Azirapahle (in a poor way given the situation and that their communication is the equivalent of a ghost (invisible as fuck)) to give Crowley a change to fix the broken and toxic system heaven been running on since the dawn of time, to give Crowley the chance to fix what need to be fixed with Aziraphale, and Crowley said no, and I think rightly so in his point of view, heaven did treated everyone especially Crowley poorly and is the main source of his trauma, so I’m happy he said no, it not his place to fix the one thing that in his eyes was broken and have always been. So good jobs Crowley for standing your grounds.
But I’m getting ahead of myself, my point is that, Crowley have moved on and it shouldn’t matter what his deadname was, I think we should all respect that when it come to not just his but everyone’s deadname. Crowley clearly doesn’t have to remember his time on heaven, and I gotta respect that. Because if I was in his shoes, I wouldn’t neither if I was a bit braver than he was.
“But phantom what if it was revealed anyway?”
Tumblr media
Again I wouldn’t care, like the commenter said (I don’t know how they feel about tagging so I won’t just to be respectful) and I do agree, if it had to be revealed it should be on his own terms. And I do agree, it is up to Crowley, he should be able to say it as it could garner the impactful moment, especially if he does say like “I’m not *this name* anymore” or whatever he’ll say in season 3, (which please let it be greenlit, I’m begging atp).
And honestly, I don’t doubt it really, it seem it might be revealed, which, fine, this is Neil’s work so gotta respect. Just I hope it on his term, and that no one else say it, I don’t even want aziraphale to say it. Just him. He deserve it.
But that’s my take on it. That’s my spew on this. Might be boring or lame to not be curious, but honestly like I said, he’ve going down a path away from heaven and accepted what happen to him. May not be in a healthiest way but regardless I love this demon and I am happy he moved on and I can’t wait to see him again in season 3, David Tennant a perfect Crowley and I wouldn’t have it any other way ^v^
But I hope you enjoy my yet another insane ramble of this show, frankly this show is becoming my life atp and I don’t hate it. I love this show, it my comfort, I’m happy to have this show; if you want to ask me any other questions you can in the AMA box or comments, but also tell me what do you guys think of this theory? Do you love it? Have qualms with it? Or anything? Tell me in the comments or reblog. As always this is phantom, imma go haunt somewhere else.
