Have you been to the dollar store lately? I hadn't been to mine in a long time because it had turned into such a garbage dump. I was close by recently and decided to pop in to see if things improved and was pleasantly surprised to see it did indeed change quite drastically for the better.
The biggest surprise was the many shelves of craft fodder, wow! It was fun to poke through stuff to see what I could use in my journal making. When I realized there was only one check stand open, and the line was snaking through the aisles, I decided I could live without the things I was eyeing for the moment. But I'll definitely go back when I have more time to wait in line.
Does your dollar store have crafty things? What type of things do you look for?

So guess who visited the national wool show :D
This show was amazing. Like I can't even describe how happy it made me. I'm sure countries with bigger populations experience this differently but this was the biggest show that actually had fibre and supplies that ive ever seen. I had yo travelling 2 days and over 800km to get to it but so so so worth it.
I've got so many types of silk (mulberry, milk), polwarth roving, Finnish roving, neon sock wool (oh God is this when I finally learn how to knit socks), covers for my carders, actual midland lace bobbins, honest to God woad seeds!
Im a little overwhelmed by it all still, many many things to play with. So i'm going back to old projects and finishing them first, which is not the choice I thought I'd be making 🙃 but oh well, gets them out from the shame pile and done.
I had such a good time I wish the local shows were anything on par with this. Will have to enter something next year.

Part one / Part two / Part three
Papers Part One / Part Two / Part Three
I found an absolute treasure haul on FB marketplace the other day, but unfortunately I was not able to afford it this month. Wth the encouragement of my friends over at Renegade Bindery, I wrote to the seller and asked if they might set it aside for me if I paid a deposit.
They agreed, and even let me pick up the things yesterday, happy that the things would be put to use. Apparently they had belonged to a friend who had died some years previously and were just collecting dust.
I arrived, and was shocked to discover that there was significantly more than the press and Sewing frames that I expected. We ended up filling most of the car with the haul.
I spent several hours cleaning the things last night, and taking pictures. Here's a few of them now. I'll have to add a part two for the rest.

Charity shop haul
There is a huge charity shop in my area which I don't get to visit very often as its about 4 miles from my home and I don't drive, however I had the day off work today and two friends and I decided to make an expedition there.
This place is typically extremely cheap, I've never seen any clothing item more than £3.50 in there. Today upon arriving we saw this...
As well as this there were bins with 2 items for £1 and a 50p rail.
I was actually pretty restrained, and only spent £6 on clothing (plus a mug for my husband).
Three shirts. The one with the parrots was 50p. I'm pretty unlikely to wear any of these as-is, but I got them because I want to use the fabric for other stuff - I've become quite interested in doing punk patches recently, and the plaid would certainly work for that.
The shorts were also 50p. They were labelled a UK 12 and I'm more like a 10, but I got them anyway (because 50p!) and they fit perfectly and are pretty flattering actually! I may DIY them in some way.
Dresses. One which is just a t-shirt fabric with thin straps which is a bit shapeless but will be nice for the summer, and one with reflective strips which I believe is supposed to be some sort of costume, though I'm unsure what of.
I wouldn't have bought it for full price, but I reckon with some modding I might be able to make it look like something from Cyberdog (I don't know if that's a brand seen in other countries, they sell cyber and industrial goth clothing). And I do really like the cut of it and the fasteners.
Lastly, a comfy cardigan. I don't have enough long-sleeved tops for the cold weather, and which are suitable for work. This one is lovely and warm, and I have some black rose buttons that I can put on it to make it more me.

May I please please please stop seeing art product, crayons, pencils, journals, bujo, planner AND WHATEVER THE FUCK ELSE haul videos?
Stop buying fucking art & craft hauls. No. You will NOT USE UP 20+ boxes of metallic watercolour paints. You WILL NOT use 10+ planners in 2024. You WILL NOT draw with 15+ types of pencils.
You WILL however have a deep-seated need to make ANOTHER shitty video with another fucking haul that will clutter up your house or end up in a dumpster, but WILL DEFINITELY be a waste of water and resources to produce.
Now when I see YT suggesting a video of "unboxing a haul" of WHATEVER, I click on "don't suggest the channel". Not the video, the whole channel.
