Late Night Boredom

Pairing: Peter Parker x Reader

A/N: Again, such a cliché, but it’s cute. so 🤷🏾‍♀️ gif is not mine. I might do a part two?? isk let me know what you guys think.

Summary: Y/N is so, very bored, so she decides to go out on her balcony. Little did she know that a certain friendly neighborhood superhero catches her eye.

Warning: some suggestive content, but other than that, fluffy fluff

It was a late Saturday night, almost midnight and you were sure that your parents had fallen asleep. You let out something between a sigh and a groan, and rolled to the other side of your bed, phone in your hand, texting one of your friends and complaining about how utterly bored you are. They suggested that you get some fresh air, but you pushed it aside, revolted at the idea of getting up from your comfy bed.

You twisted over, now facing the TV in your room, turned it on and surfed the channels for a good ten minutes. Of course there was nothing that interested you playing, so you turned to Netflix. You had already binge-watched most of the shows, so you searched for another few moments. You let out a whine, you didn't want to watch something new or old, it was just one of those times where you were stuck in a black hole of disinterest.

Finally deciding to take your friend’s advice, you lazily throw the blanket off your body, sit up, and stretch. Then, you made your way over to your balcony doors, and pulled them open, pretending to be dramatic, like a Disney princess. Smiling at yourself, you step outside, letting the cool, New York air surround you. Making sure you closed the door behind you, you put your elbows on the chilly railing that use your hands to prop your head up.

Your eyes sweep the streets, looking for something, anything really, to help you escape your hole of boredom that you’ve somehow fallen into. Nothing gained your interest, there was only a couple, walking home from their date, you assumed, since they were holding hands and the girl was leaning on his shoulder, laughing at something he said. You decided to head back inside, since there was nothing to watch. But as you were about to step inside, you heard a scream.

Eyes widening, you did another 180°, you practically ran to the railing, and leaned over to see what the commotion was about. The woman was holding her arm out, pointing her index finger to a man that was running away, clutching a black, leather purse in his hands.

“He stole my purse!” the woman cried, a surprised expression on her face. You averted your gaze back to the thief that was getting away.

Within seconds (probably milliseconds, you thought), a certain superhero, clad in red and blue, with white eyes, outlined in black, jumped down in front of the criminal. Instantly recognizing who it was, thanks to all those youtube videos you watched and that one encounter you had with him, you relaxed.

“The time for snatching purses was an hour ago, you’re late!” he greeted the thief, making you shake your head and grin. Spider-Man extended his arm, shooting strings of web at the man, and pulled his hand back, catching the purse. He tossed the purse to its rightful owner, who had moved close to the criminal, who hadn’t noticed. The man attacked the hero, throwing a punch meant for his head, but instead hit nothing as the avenger easily dodged.

“I gotta say, you have to get a lot better at throwing punches.” he commented as the man started fighting him. He threw a few punches and kicks, which again, Spidey easily avoided. While fending him off, the superhero notice you looking.

He winked.

You were taken aback from the gesture, you could feel yourself reddening, and for some reason, your heart fluttered. You gave him a small smile in return, and headed inside. You left your balcony open just a tad bit, to let some cool air in. You decided to read a book, so you turned on your lamp and got your favourite book. Minutes had passed and all your attention was consumed by your book, until you heard a thud. Your eyes instantly shot towards your balcony, where you saw the hero from earlier, in his signature superhero pose.

As you were marking your page and setting your book down, a quizzical expression took over your features. You strolled to the doors and pushed them open, eyeing him curiously. The eyes on his mask slightly widened, but went back to normal again at once.

“What’s a pretty lady like you doing up so late?” he asked with a New York accent. Extending his arm, he held out his hand. Deciding to trust him, you put your hand in his. He then bowed down and lifted his mask up to beneath his nose, and kisses it, making you smile at his formality.

“Is that what your voice sounds like?” you asked.

“What do you mean?” he inquired, keeping up with the accent.

“I mean, is that really what your voice sounds like?” you said with a quiet laugh, not wanting to wake up your parents. You moved away from the doorway, inviting the friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man into your room. “Sounds different from the last time we met. Not to mention all those you tube videos.”

A grin graced his face, at least, the part you could see. It was familiar, but you couldn’t place your finger on it. Not to mention that it was remarkably charming. “Oh, yeah, no.” he stuttered, his skin flushed pink. Peter mentally cursed at himself for using the accent, but made you laugh and that’s what mattered to him. You gave him a small smile as he walked into your room.

The truth is, that Peter is head over heels for you. The boy didn’t just like like you, he was madly in love with you. Everything about you captivated him, like your voice, your laugh, your everything. The smile you gave him reminded him of the first time you met Spider-Man

‘God, why are things so slow today?’ Peter thought as he swung across the city he calls home. He landed on a rooftop and looked around, a certain someone caught his eye, walking home on the sidewalk. His advanced hearing allowed him to listen to the song you were quietly singing, which just happen to be one of his favourites. It made his heart soar.

“Darling, you look perfect, tonight.” he quietly sang under his breath, he loved it because it reminded him of you, he would think of you whenever it was on the radio.

You turned right, into a dark ally way. Not because you were about to do anything creepy, but because it was one the shortcuts you liked to use to get home quicker, and avoid crossing the streets.

Peter decided to head home for the night, since there clearly wasn’t anything illegal going on. So he turned around and extended his arm, about to shoot out a web, when-

He heard you let out a loud cry and groan.

“Let go of me! You.. you filthy animal!” you cried. A thug had pushed you against the wall, knife to your throat, ready to slit it at any second. Fear filled your guts when you saw how dangerously close the weapon was to you.

Spidey immediately ran to the edge of the building

“Aw, is the little princess scared?” he spat, looking at your body up and down with a devilish smirk on his face. “We can have some fun, right here, right now, but if you struggle, you can say goodbye to everything you love. Sound good?”

You gasped, eyes wide, never breaking eye contact with the man, but you saw the hero with your peripheral vision. You relaxed a tiny bit, but still scared and mostly tense. “Mhmm,” you nodded, your voice was an octave higher than usual.

“Excellent, now be a good girl and take off your clothes.” he ordered, gesturing the knife up and down.

But of course, instead of doing as you were told, you froze as Spidey swooped in to save the day.

“Hey! Don’t you know that its kinda illegal to rape? Especially minors!” Peter kicked the thug, sending him flying and making his back hit the wall. You quickly grabbed your phone and dialed 911, telling the operator that you needed police, followed by your location.

After the police arrived and had taken care of the hooligan, Spider-Man offered to swing you home.

“No, no it’s alright,” you politely declined his offer, waving your hands in front of yourself. “I’ll walk home, it’s not too far from here.”

“I’ll walk with you then, ya know, in case more bad guys they to hurt you.” Peter said innocently. You giggled and started walking in the direction of your home. Originally, you had thought that the way home would be awkward, but it really wasn’t, there was just a comfortable silence. Until the infamous web-slinger broke it,

“You know, I think it should be illegal.” he said wisely. nodding once or twice to himself.

“Sorry, what?” you smiled, fiddling with your phone. “What should be illegal?”

“It should be illegal for someone as pretty as you to be walking all alone in the middle of the night.” he elaborated and even though you couldn’t see it, there a dopey smile playing on his lips

You laughed, “I bet you say that to tons of other girls.” you said, looking down and twirling a strand of hair on your finger.

“No, you’re the first,” he reassured you. “I don’t plan on using it one anyone else.”

You let out a soft gasp of surprise. Was Spider-Man... hitting on you? You pushed the thought aside, shaking your head to yourself.

“Well, this is my stop.” you said, about to open the front doors to your apartment building. “I guess I’ll see ya around, web-head.” you said.

“Web-head? Is that nickname?” he asked.

“Yeah,” you smiled. “My nickname, though.”

“So, whatcha dong here, web-head?” you asked, curiosity lacing your voice. You were now sitting on your bed, legs crossed and you patted the space beside you, gesturing that he could come sit down if he wanted to.

You broke Peter flashback. “I wanted to see how you’re holding up.” he replied simply. Peter came and sat beside you. You were looking off into the distance, deep in thought. Maybe you were thinking about that night, Peter couldn’t tell.

You let out a deep sigh. “I don’t know.. I mean, I’m still pretty shaken up if I’m being honest.” the web-shooter gently placed his gloved hand on yours, letting you know that it was alright. You gave him another reassuring smile, and took his hand in yours, and toyed with his fingers.

“Strange material,” you commented.

“Mr. Stark made it.”

“T-Tony Stark? That’s awesome!” you exclaimed.

“There’s a story behind it, if you want to hear.” Spider-Man offered. you gleefully nodded your head and git comfy on your bed, leaning against the headboard with your knees pulled up to your chest, arms wrapped around them.

So Peter told you his story. He told you everything, from the Washington Monument (he left out the part where he was there because of decathlon), to the Vulture guy. By the time he was done his storytelling, it was almost two in the morning. But, he accidently let the homecoming part slip his tongue

“Homecoming?” you questioned. “Are you in high school?”

“Yeah,” Peter nodded his head, knowing that there was no way of covering that up.

“What school do you go to?”

“I can’t tell you that, sorry.” Peter told you, a sympathetic smile on his lips. “Tell me about yourself! After all, it is a little weird that I’m in your bedroom and I have no idea who you are.”

“Oh, okay. Well, my name is Y/N L/N and I go to Midtown Tech...” You explained, telling him all about yourself. You didn’t notice, but Peter looked at you with a lovestruck expression the whole time. He loved it when you talked about the things you love, you always had this sparkle in your eye, meaning that what you were saying was true. Peter listened as if he was getting to know you for the first time.

And when you mentioned Peter Parker, the web-shooter got interested.

“Who’s that?”

“Peter? Oh, he’s my best friend,” you smiled, that glint in your eye was back, but this time, it was special. “I’ve known him since elementary school, he’s like a brother to me.” Peter internally cringed, there it was, brother. Peter’s heart almost physically ached. He knew you didn’t return the feelings but he didn’t think he would he would be that affected by it. Parker had fallen harder than he thought.

“Although,” you continued. lifting Peter’s hopes a bit, “I’ve started developing a crush on him. It’s so weird, I’ve known him basically my whole life and now that I think about it, it’s like ‘woah, I’m in love with him.’” you blabbered out loud, smiling at the thought of Peter as your boyfriend.

“In in love... with my best friend.”

Peter felt mixed emotions, and these are his thoughts exactly:

‘ohmygodohmygodohmygodshe’sinlovewithmetoo!”

and

‘what she just confessed her feelings, what do I do????? do I tell her????”

Peter decided not to tell you, thinking it would be weird. “You should tell him.” he whispered, looking at you with a happy look. “He’d be over the moon.”

“No, it’s- it’ll be weird!” you laughed, shaking your head and shrugging.

“I’m in love with my best friend too.” Spidey said, he didn’t have time to process his thoughts before they escaped his lips.

“Really, web-head?” you gave him a glance. “Must be a lucky girl.”

Peter sighed. He dreadfully wished he was living this moment as Peter Parker, and not Spider-Man, but still, he couldn’t complain. You liked him back and that’s all that matters.

“Yeah, she’s... she’s perfect.”

You two talked for a few more hours, about everything. About, school, movies, everything you could think of. Peter told you all that he could about himself, without revealing his identity. By the time you had run out of things to talk about, your alarm went off.

“BEEP BEEP BEEP!” your alarm went. You jumped and let out a small shriek, quickly leaped out of bed, turning off your alarm.

“We seriously talked all night?” you said, surprised. Time goes by when you’re having fun. “I have to get ready for school.” you said with a frown.

“So do I,” he said, getting up from you bed. “Hey, don’t be sad, you’ll see Peter.”

“Oh, yeah!” you cheered up in an instant. But another frown graced your face. “Will you come back?”

“Do you want me to?”

You nodded shyly, looking down at the floor, and fiddling with the hem of your night shirt.

Peter stepped closer to you, and lifted your chin up with one of his fingers. You looked into the eyes of his mask, your heartrate was rapidly increasing and you felt your face flush pink, almost red. You eyes darted from his eyes to his lips, then back up again.

Peter placed a soft kiss on your lips, it felt sensational. It was short and sweet and lovely, and what Peter didn’t know, that it was your first kiss, and it was his a well.

Without knowing it, both of your leaned into another, sweet kiss, like it was meant to be. Your eyes fluttered close, as your lips barely brushed against each other, you pushed your lips onto his, relaxing in his arms which he put around you. Your lips moved in perfect harmony, perfectly synchronized. Both of you pulled back at the same time, softly gasping for air.

“Something to remember me by.” He said, before rushing to your balcony and swinging off into the distance.

It’s time we talk about SimsDom again.

Most of you probably already know who and what Simsdom is but for those that don’t, Simsdom (or SimsDomination) claim to essentially be a CC finds website, which in essence I suppose they are... But don’t get your hopes up for a Lana replacement because they are SO much more than that. And not in a good way.

I know this is an old subject, and most people probably thought it was all over and done with, but Simsdom is still around and what’s worse is that I’ve noticed a growing trend among my fellow Game Changers who create content for Youtuber and Twitch/Mixer of promoting the site by using it to do CC shopping haul videos and streams, which is encouraging their viewers to use Simsdom. I’m not going to name names or point fingers but it made me realise that maybe some people don’t understand just how bad Simsdom is for the community in general, but especially for the amazingly dedicated CC creators of Simblr. And it’s just so disappointing to see people that some many in the community, including myself, look up to promoting this garbage site!

If you’re curious to know why this is a problem, I’ll explain under the cut. If not, keep scrolling... But don’t say I didn’t warn you.

If you visit the Simsdom website (which I’ve purposely not provided a link to because you absolutely shouldn’t visit it) you’ll notice a whole bunch of custom content is available there, more than likely you’ll even find quite a bit from some of your faves like @peacemaker-ic, @nolan-sims, @storylegacysims, @crypticsim, @renorasims, @savvysweet and MANY more. My stuff is even on there as well and if you’re a creator, the chances are high your stuff is too; whether you want it to be or not.

But don’t be fooled, myself and most of the other creators whose content appears on their site did not give permission for our content to be shared on there. In fact, most of us have specifically asked Simsdom to remove our content from their site. I say “most” because there are some people who willing uploading their content there (god knows why). The easiest way to the tell the difference is to look at who posted the content. If you see this:

That content has been shared by a bot, without the creator’s permission and more than likely against their many requests that Simsdom NOT share their content. If it says the name of the actual creator instead of “Exchange”, that creator uploaded it themselves.

You might also ask why anyone would care if their content was shared on a CC finds blog, after all, it means more traffic to our blogs and content, right? First of all, whether it brings in more traffic or not, is beside point. These creators have specifically requested Simsdom not share their content and they have been ignored, disrespected, threatened, and harassed. Simsdom claims that their users make up 30-90% of Tumblr creators traffic, but I call bullshit. I check my Google analytics every single month for traffic coming in to both my Tumblr and Blogger from Simsdom and I can tell you that LESS THAN 1% of the COMBINED TOTAL traffic from BOTH BLOGS comes from there. And when you understand how they operate, you’ll understand why that is.

In reference to Simsdom’s response to this post, they linked 5 creators that they claim meet their crazy statement that their site provides creators with 30-90% of their traffic. So I just thought I’d point out some interesting facts I noticed while looking at those sites.

One of those sites is dead; literally, it doesn’t exist anymore, if it ever even did. Another, @simiracle, is a fellow Game Changer who reblogged this post, so I’m guessing they don’t have support there. And the other 3 are alpha CC creators, none of whom have ever uploaded any of their CC to Simdom, nor have they ever mentioned Simsdom on their sites in any way. However, all three earn money on their own content via either adfly, adsense, patreon, or some combination of the three; my guess would be they wouldn’t be too happy to find out Simsdom is making money off them too.

You see, Simsdom might sometimes link back to the original creators site, but often times they don’t. I’ve noticed quite a bit of the content of my own on their site directly links to the file on SimFileShare, completely bypassing both my Tumblr and my Blogger. This might not seem like a big problem, but what about if the creator has put specific instructions, requirements, or notes on the original download page that if the downloader doesn’t read could result in broken/unusable CC, or worse, a broken game?

In reference to Simsdom’s response to this post, they linked to SimFileShare’s page on SimilarWeb and claimed that I was lying about direct-linking to my files there because their site does not appear in the list of referring sites. What they failed to mention is that that list only shows the TOP 5 sites that link to SimFileShare regularly. There are still 385 other sites that aren’t shown and can’t be seen without having an account with SimilarWeb. Convenient, huh?

I also said they only direct-linked SOME content. With my content it was only about 4 or 5 things out of the 15 or so they have on their site and I didn’t check anyone else’s stuff but I have heard other creators say the same thing. So of course they’re not going to show up in the top 5 if it’s only SOME links.

But wait, there’s more.

Anyone downloading from their website without an adblocker is forced to wade through potentially harmful ads as well. Notice the blue button that says “download” at the top? That’s not a real download button and if you click it, it will instantly begin shoving pop ups in your face claiming you have a system error or that your local law enforcement agency has detected illegal activity from your IP. Yes, I clicked it. There is nothing of importance left on my HDD (it’s all stored safely on an external drive that isn’t connected to the PC at all) because this drive has been slowly dying for weeks and I’m destroying it tomorrow and replacing it with a brand new one, so I decided to take a chance.

These ads, which are on pretty much every page of Simsdom, are what’s called “Ransomware”, and it’s whole purpose is to distract you with fake pop up “warnings” when you click on it so that you don’t realise it’s actually downloading a very harmful file to your computer in the background. It’s designed to be next to impossible to close the pop ups, so that even if you somehow became aware of the download happening, you couldn’t get past the pop ups to stop it before it’s had time to finish downloading and automatically begin running it’s payload when it’s done.

What payload? That’s the scariest part, you won’t know until it’s too late. It could be something as simple as a trojan that will force your PC to mine bitcoins, which is still harmful because these mining trojans are resource hogs and put a massive strain on your CPU. Or a trojan designed to target and encrypt specific files on your computer (usually sensitive ones) and demand you pay a literal ransom (usually either in bitcoin or pre-paid cash) and if you don’t, your files will either be complete erased or leaked.

Or worse still, it could be something even more sinister such as a key-logger; a piece of spyware that is designed to track and log EVERY. SINGLE. KEY. you touch on your keyboard. So every password you use, every online banking key code you enter, all the conversations you have via Discord, Twitter, Tumblr, or any other form of instant messaging, that fanfiction you’ve been working on that you are too scared to show anyone in case they think you’re a pervert, your credit card and bank account number you use to shop online, what porn you look for, even your Google search history (regardless of if you’re incognito); all of it will be no longer private and in the hands of someone who could use it to steal your identity, empty out your bank accounts, charge thousands of dollars worth of goods to your credit card, or expose every little strange thing you do on your computer that you thought no one would ever find out about, unless you pay their ransom.

Scary huh?

Also notice that those Get Famous recolours I made don’t say that they actually require Get Famous? Why is that a problem, you say? For most people it’s not, you see “Get Famous Recolours” and you automatically know you need Get Famous to use them, but what about people who are new to using CC and don’t know that for my recolours to work you need the pack they came from? Yeh, that’s a problem, because that particular download is one of those ones that leads straight to SimFileShare:

It leads directly to the merged file, which is NOT the only file available for download in that set, just the largest. But no one who finds my content on Simsdom will ever know that will they? Nor will they read the part of the download page that clearly states Get Famous is required to use the recolours.

I hear you saying “But adblockers are a thing”. Yes they are, but that doesn’t solve the issue of them linking straight to the file. And also, here’s what happens when you try to download something from Simsdom with an adblocker enabled:

You’re forced to wait 180 seconds before the download button appears. THREE WHOLE MINUTES in which you cannot move from that page or the counter will stop, and it will only restart when you go back to that page and stay there for the entire three minutes. Even Adfly isn’t that gross.

So, all of that isn’t enough to discourage you from using this vile site you say? Well, let me introduce you to the person/people who run the site. There are plenty of examples floating around Tumblr of how disrespectful, arrogant, immature, and disturbing the owner/s are (just search for “Simsdom” and you’ll see) but here’s just a few posts showing “receipts” of what happened to creators when they ask for their content to be removed from the site: Here, here, and here.

They have threatened to doxx several creators, tried to blackmail others, threatened to shut down some people’s sites, and even actually refused to remove people’s content unless they say “please”; as though these creators are six year old children who need to learn a lesson for not wanting THEIR content on someone else’s website!

All of this was said AFTER they made a post on their Tumblr saying they would respect creators wishes to not have their content on their site. I myself had a run-in with them as well but I don’t have the receipts because as soon as they finally agreed to remove my content (after almost 4 days of arguing with them and being threatened several times) they blocked me... and they continue to share my content to this day. That’s part of the reason why my motivation to create has been so low lately; I know its just going to end up over there, locked behind a paywall making money for these disgusting people and tricking simmers into thinking they have to pay to access my stuff.

But back to the story! Once they realised 99% of Tumblr creators — the people they get most of their content from — were going to ask to have their creations removed however, they changed their mind and instead started refusing to remove content. In fact, if you go to their website and use the contact form and choose the option “Remove my Content” they literally ask if you are Tumblr creator or not, and if you say you are, this is what you get:

And that “Our Rights here” link? That leads to this nonsense that literally contradicts itself with almost every single sentence:

“Creations can’t be uploaded without the creators permission... but we do not need permission to share your creations” “Feel free to contact us to ask to remove your content... but actually don’t bother contacting us asking to remove your content because we won’t” “SimsDomination is a free website... We don’t steal any content... *literally has other people’s free content locked behind a paywall and charges people membership fees to remove said paywall*”

And as for the EA terms part... I have news for you Simsdom, YOU are the only one breaking EA’s terms of use by putting content behind paywalls. I’m an EA Game Changer, I have actually read the terms of use AND spoken at length on the topics of earning revenue from CC, and why paywalls/memberships/exclusives are against EA’s terms of use with the Sim Gurus, have you? Didn’t think so.

If you had, you’d realise that we are allowed to earn revenue from our CC by having ads on our blogs/sites provided they aren’t deceptive — you know, like that ad with the big blue button you have that shows up on every single page of your site — and don’t lead to anything malicious, which yours do. I clicked several of the ads on your site and they all either lead to disgusting 18+ websites, started producing ransomware pop ups like I described earlier, or tried to download a mysterious file called setup.exe to my computer (which was most likely a trojan as well). We are also allowed to earn revenue via donations and Patreon early access systems provided the content is also made available for free to the general public within 14 days.

We are not, however, allowed to lock content behind Patreon exclusives, memberships and paywalls such as Adfly; which is exactly what you are doing. Like Adfly, you are not only potentially exposing underage children to 18+ content and risking the safety of people’s PCs, but you are also forcing them to wait to click a link and charging membership fees to avoid having to wait to download said content that isn’t even yours; content that you have been asked REPEATEDLY to remove. That is the very definition of a paywall. It is NOT the same as Pinterest or Facebook AT ALL, they might have ads but they aren’t malicious and they do not force people to wait to view content.

In reference to Simsdom’s response to this post, this is probably one of my most favourite Simsdom lies, because it never changes but it’s so easy to prove false! “Users don’t need to pay to download any content and don’t need to wait to download them” Oh really? Shall we take a look at your site on the old SimilarWeb that you love so much?

How strange. If you don’t make people wait, then why do you need adfly? And if no one has to pay, then why do you need premium memberships to get rid of the ads and wait time you don’t have? Odd.

Also, lets talk Adsense. I never said I had a problem with you having ads on your site; I said I had a problem with the TYPE of ads on your site. If you seriously don’t think your ads are in any way harmful, I’d suggest you take another look at your Adsense, because either it’s been hacked or you seriously don’t know what you’re doing. Oh, but that’s right, “Google will never display suspicious ADs“... Mmm hmm, you just go right on believe that. Yeh, it’s definitely not possible for Google to be hacked... Nope, definitely not.

Also, if you use your Adsense revenue to pay for your site.... what happens to the extra? Because based on your SimilarWeb page I can take a rough guess at how much you earn every month through Adsense alone and there’s no way your site costs that much to run. For that matter, where does all the extra revenue from Adfly, Short.st and this mysterious “other” go? And all the revenue you get from your premium subscriptions that you totally don’t charge people money for?...

Is that fish I smell?

If you’ve managed to make it this far, congrats lol I know this has been long and probably boring but thank you for taking the time to read the whole thing. All this post was meant to do was explain why people should not support Simsdom, and why I’m so disappointed in other Game Changers for promoting it, but it kind of got away from me a little.

Oh well, now you know what Simsdom is and why I will NEVER support them or willingly allow my content to be shared on their site. And if you do decide to still use their site, just... please be careful. My content will always be free and safe to download, just like the majority or CC creators here on Tumblr. Don’t pay for something you can get for free from the original source.

You walked past the dance studio that was blasting music to your own studio, a cup of coffee in one hand and the bag Hoseok had gifted you containing your laptop, chargers, phone, and other small necessities slung across your body. BigHit had allowed you to turn one of the spare rooms in the building where a lot of BTS’s choreographers worked and where their music studios were, into your filming studio for your Youtube channel. The only price was that they got a portion of your revenue.

You had come to Korea for a collaboration with another Youtube Creator and the universe had smiled on you because BTS just so happened to be back home at the same time. At first, you were surprised when the ink from the soulmate mark began spreading outwards from your shoulder, but after a few days, decided to pay no mind to it. When you met the other Youtuber and saw another soulmate mark on their hand, one not matching your own, you made the impulse decision to stay in Korea until you found your soulmate. You had simply told your follower base that you wanted to stay in the country for vacation and they had been wholly supportive, most of them screaming at you through the comments that you should make fancam videos since you were so close to many of the large k-pop groups you followed. Especially BTS.

Then as the days went by, your soulmate mark kept growing larger and larger to the point where you knew that it wasn’t meant for one single person. People’s marks were usually hideable since monogamy was the standard. But yours’ had stretched out so that you were having to wear long sleeve shirts in your videos and in public in case anyone saw you because finding your soulmate, or soulmates was a very intimate thing in your eyes and not something you wanted to be broadcasted to your audience, no matter how amazing they were.

Then it seemed the universe especially favored you one day when you had been scouting Youtube for fancam videos on BTS for your own content and saw that Jimin had slipped in hiding their soulmate mark. All of their marks were usually hidden, but dedicated fans knew that they were all soulmates. But what made you pause the video and stare at the screen for hours in disbelief was seeing that there was a new portion of Jimin’s soulmate mark on his ribs that matched exactly to a section of yours.

Long story short, after calling in a countless amount of favors, upping your visibility in the BTS fandom, and then searching out for the boys themselves, you had eventually met and realized that your mark was made for all of them. The first few months had been a whirlwind, between adjusting to a relationship with seven people, working hard to keep said relationship on the down-low from your follower base, ARMY, and the media, and then making the move from America all the way to Korea to be with your soulmates.

Eventually, you had dedicated a whole video to where you revealed your soulmate mark and told the story of you all finding each other, something that was common amongst Youtubers that had found their other half/halves. Then Jungkook and Jimin kept purposefully doing less and less to hide their soulmate marks whenever they lifted their shirts, Namjoon would always awkwardly avoid questions from the media so it was obvious to ARMY that one of the boys at least found another soulmate, and then when there were two songs dedicated to you on their new album (one for the rap line and another for the vocal line), ARMYs had deduced that their OT7 was now to become an OT8. A few months of everyone guessing, the Run producers had filmed you and Taehyung napping together during an episode and your relationship was cast into the public light.

You had gone to Korea when you were 19, single and only a few thousand followers to your channel, and now you were about to celebrate your 21st birthday with millions subscribed to you and seven extremely loving, and thoughtful boyfriends.

You set your bag on your desk, smiling to yourself. This morning, Jimin had snuck into bed with you and Hoseok and so you woke up to some very pleasant sensations. Hoseok, the grouch he is in the morning, of course, grumbled in annoyance when you woke him up, unable to stay quiet, and had left the room to let you and Jimin finish.

You were pleasantly surprised to find that everyone was up when you and Jimin left your room, some more awake and in a pleasant mood than others. You usually avoided Hoseok and Jimin in the morning since they were always grumpy when waking up. You never woke Yoongi up yourself but he always woke up fairly quickly, and Jungkook and Taehyung would sleepily stumble around, usually into someone’s arm, until they were awake. And that was the case as Jungkook was swaying in his seat, eyes closed as he drifted in and out of sleep, and once he heard you come in, slowly stood and dragged his feet over to you then wrapped his arms around your waist and buried his head into your chest. Taehyung was already clinging onto Yoongi since Namjoon disliked cuddling when tired and Yoongi had a high tolerance for you all.

Jin was manning the stove while Hoseok cut fruit, eyebrows scrunched and hair fluffed in every direction. Before you lay an arrangement of all your favorite breakfast foods from America that Jin had learned to make, with more on the way. Namjoon was already snacking on some bacon when you had come into the kitchen.

You all had to reluctantly leave the breakfast feast to go to work, no matter how much Taehyung whined that you should have the day off. Your boys had gone to the filming location for their music video and you had gone to your studio.

You turn on your computers and switch on the studio lights before unpacking your bag and hooking your laptop to one of the desktop computers. They had been a gift from Yoongi a few months into your relationship along with the editing software installed on it. Hoseok had paid for the expensive lighting much to your disapproval and Namjoon and Taehyung had teamed up in decorating your studio.

You had decided that for your birthday, you would do something easy and make a reaction video for the BTS Run episodes. You really had no use watching them since they all acted like crackheads enough around you without any cameras running. But your audience loved to see you make fun of your boyfriends and the antics they got themselves in to.

You were halfway through voicing a thought when the door to your studio opened and in walks your friend from the studio down the hall, holding a small cake and they begin to sing to you, steadily growing louder.

You look at the camera, deadpan, “It seems we have a visitor for today’s video.

Your friend places the cake in front of you then puts their face directly in front of the camera lens before pulling a chair next to yours and sitting. You continue staring at the camera the same way for another minute before the both of you break composure and laugh.

Your friend slaps their thighs, “What is happening here on this very day? Are we watching the boyfs?”

You hum. “The more...I watch them, the more….I’m tempted to lock them in their rooms. Because they are idiots. My soulmates are a bunch of idiots and they need to be STOPPED.”

A couple hours, a full cake, and a surprise catered lunch thanks to your boyfriend later, you finish the video. Your friend had to leave a quarter of the way through to go back to work and once you're wrapped up filming, you spent the rest of the day editing and now that the video was uploaded, you were glad to get to go back home. Your back aches from sitting all day and your wrist were tired from all the minute movements needed to work on the computer. You swore you were going to have carpal tunnel by the time you turned 30.

Excitement bubbled in your chest when you opened the door to your shared apartment and heard the voices of the boys within. Most days, their job required for them to work sporadic, long hours so they must have begged at least a dozen people to let them off early.

Jungkook was walking past you from the laundry room with a basket of folded clothes. That was the shared chore he designated to himself. He paused in front of you with wide eyes, “Y/N! You’re home early.”

“Y/N’s home?!” you heard Namjoon shout from another room. How excited he got over mundane things never failed to make your heart double its original size.

Namjoon suddenly appeared in the living room where you and Jungkook were standing, bouncing on his feet and his eyes scrunched with a barely contained smile that showcased his dimples.

“Hey, baby,” you walk to him, throwing your bag onto the couch on the way, “you look really happy,” you giggle.

Namjoon fully smiles and steps closer to you. Each of your hands are on the other’s hips. He dips his head down so his nose bumps into yours. “We had a really good day shooting and now you’re here with me.” Namjoon gently presses his lips to yours. “I missed you.” He nudges his head into the crook of your neck and rubs his hands up to the middle of your back and pulls you into a hug. “Did you get our present?”

“Mmm, you mean the lunch you sent me?” Namjoon nods. “I did. Who’s idea was that exactly?” you questioned with a slight tilt of your voice.

“All of ours.” You feel his lips move as he mumbles into your neck.

You pull away from the hug and begin to walk into the kitchen where you can hear Jimin, Taehyung, and Yoongi are. “Okay,” you teasingly smirk, “I’ll be sure to say thank you to Hobi for lunch.”

Namjoon gasps and watches you walk away with his mouth wide open.

Your eyes widen once you walk into the kitchen. Covering a majority of the counter surface are bottles of various alcohols. Jimin has a fairly large bottle in his hand and looks to be struggling to open it. Taehyung is somewhat hunched over as he closely watches Jimin’s hands work the corkscrew. Yoongi is sitting at the island, looking at his phone, completely unbothered to what the two younger men standing next to him are doing.

“Are we opening up a bar or something,” you draw the attention of the three men to you and Yoongi chortles.

Jimin sets the bottle back on the counter where Taehyung picks it up and resumes trying to take out the corkscrew, and he walks over to you with a smile so big his eyes are nearly closed. “No,” he giggles. He quickly pecks your cheek then leans back onto the counter. He’s situated between you and Yoongi. “It’s your twenty-first birthday. You can finally drink with us.”

You belly-laugh at his teasing. You both know full well that no one cared about the legal drinking age set by your home country. You’ve had many nights where you’ve gotten tipsy or drunk with them. And sometimes those nights ended with messy sex, other times, they’ve ended with you or one of the boys hunched over the toilet or a trash can and someone else rubbing circles into their back.

One of your fondest memories was from one night when you all had a little bit too much to drink and Jin had come up with the brilliant idea to play hide and seek tag. Yoongi had forgotten to hide in his drunken state and spent the whole night running from Jimin. Hoseok had passed out on the couch after looking for everyone twenty minutes into the game but fortunately, Namjoon had gotten confused and thought that he was “it” so you weren’t hiding for no reason. Jin and Taehyung had combined their brilliant minds together and tagged teamed. Namjoon found them first because they were unable to contain their laughter. You were forced to call off the game when Jungkook, in an attempt to get away from Namjoon, had crawled over the railing of the balcony in the apartment and hung there, remaining stubborn that so long as Namjoon was going to be waiting for him, he wasn’t budging. It took Jimin eleven minutes to talk Jungkook back over the railing.

“Jimin! You weren’t supposed to get this much!” Jungkook exclaimed as he walked into the kitchen, looking as surprised as you were to see all the alcohol.

“Relax. You know he’ll eventually drink it all,” Yoongi mutters. In the background, you hear Taehyung cheer as the corkscrew finally comes free from the bottle with a pop.

You suddenly stumble back as a pair of arms pull you into a chest. Hoseok makes smooching noises and coos into your neck. You squirm in his arms with a smile on your face, “Hello to you too.”

You arch your neck to look behind Hoseok to see Jin placing a few bags down in the living room. You know for sure that the bags are meant for you with a Victoria’s Secret bag peeking out behind some of the other brand names. There was most likely a piece chosen by each member within the bag.

“Oooh, what did you get?” Taehyung cutely runs over to Jin.

Jin slaps Taehyung’s arm when he starts ruffling through the bags. “Aish! You already know! Go away!”

Jungkook, who was busy wrestling the open bottle of wine away from Jimin, turns around at Jin yelling. “Jin! You weren’t supposed to let her see!” Jungkook stomps over the bags, ripping the one Taehyung is holding from his hands and loads them onto his arms before marching to his bedroom. Jimin and Yoongi laugh after him with full glasses of wine.

Namjoon comes behind Jin and wraps his arms around him and rests his chin on Jin’s shoulder as the older man angrily huffs. You wiggle out of Hoseok’s grasp and walk over to them to sandwich Jin in between you and Namjoon. You peer up at him, eyes squinted in happiness.

“Jungkook’s lucky it’s your birthday because any other day, I would have slapped him for talking to me like that,” Jin grumbles.

You and Namjoon laugh. Everyone knows that most of Jin’s threats were harmless.

Jungkook walks back towards you which causes Jin to leave for the kitchen, where he begins to prepare food for dinner with a pout on his face. Jungkook runs a hand through his hair, exposing his forehead and you feel a fluttering inside your chest at the sight.

“Alright, Namjoon, I need you to take Y/N somewhere other than here for at least two hours. Hoseok, you’re in charge of the banners, Taehyung, you’re in charge of the…” Jungkook skeptically glances at you, “special decorations. Jimin! Enough with the alcohol!”

Jimin, not being able to find the wine that has already been opened, has opted into opening a bottle of champagne and was in the midst of pouring himself a glass as Yoongi polishes the rest of his wine off.

You gently guide Jungkook around so he’s facing you. “Jungkook, calm down. There’s no reason to get this stressed over me,” you comfort him.

Jungkook runs his fingers through his hair again and you notice the slight movement of his jaw as he grinds his teeth together. “No,” he whines, “This day is important and I had this whole party planned but then you came home early, so we didn’t have time to prepare everything.” He looks at you with Bambi eyes, “Give me an hour to set up your party.”

Your eyes flicker around his face before you rise on your tiptoes to mold your lips to his. Jungkook sighs into the kiss and you feel the tension leave his shoulders underneath your palms.

You lower yourself flat on your feet and peer up at Jungkook with admiration. “I don’t doubt for a second that you probably had this elaborate celebration planned for me- but to be honest, I think I would rather just spend my birthday with all of you. No expectations, no one bothering us, none of us worrying about stupid stuff. Just us, a couple of movies, lots and lots of food, and” you glance over Jungkook’s shoulder to Jimin, who’s watching with a loving smile and behind him, close to Jin, Taehyung, who slightly gags after taking a sip of whatever drink is in his cup, “a copious amount of alcohol.”

The corners of Jungkook’s lips tilt up. “I’m sorry.”

You kiss along his jaw until you get to his lips, where you lay a few kisses. “You have nothing to be sorry for,” you kiss him again, “I love you.”

“I love you too.”

“Alright,” you smile up at Jungkook before lifting his arm over your head and walking over to Jin, “Let’s bake this cake!” You slap Jin’s ass and he jumps, facing you, an angry blush overtaking his face as you smirk at him and the other’s laugh.

“Yoongi,” you whine.

Yoongi has been trailing his lips up and down your neck for the last forty minutes. His face red due to the alcohol in his system.

“You’re so beautiful. I love you so much-”

You hug Yoongi to you to cut him off. Twice already has he gone off on a drunken ramble where he continuously praises you. And no matter how much the words that leave his lips fill your heart with so much love, you know if you were to let him go off again it would only get the man cuddled into your other side started. Jimin was notorious for his need for praise and when he was drunk, he refused to quiet down until someone complimented him and when in private situations, a praised Jimin became a horny Jimin. And with how squished you all were on the couch if any two people began anything, then everybody else would be dragged into it. Well except for maybe Taehyung, who began dozing off halfway through the third movie.

Yoongi finally found his way to your lips and ignored your weak protests and pressed his lips onto yours. His hand came up to cup your cheek to hold you steady and his teeth lightly nibbled on your lower lip before he ran his tongue in their wake. You pulled away from him with a small pop when you felt a sudden weight on your lap.

Jungkook had taken it upon himself to move from his spot on the floor in front of you to your’s, Jimin’s, Yoongi’s, Namjoon’s, and Hoseok’s laps collectively. Namjoon reflexively grabbed onto Jungkook’s feet and the second Jungkook laid his head on Hoseok’s thighs, Hoseok leaned down and gave the younger a quick kiss.

Leaning on Namjoon, Jin rubbed his eyes tiredly before releasing a yawn. “I’m tired so I’m going to bed.” Getting bored of the movie yourself, you spoke up saying you were going to join him.

“Jagiya, nooo,” Jimin pouted at you and reached out with his hands once you maneuvered yourself from the pile of bodies and were standing in front of the couch waiting for Jin. You breathed out a laugh and leaned over Jungkook to kiss the pink-haired man.

“Are we going to bed?” Taehyung’s sleep riddled voice is probably two-three octaves lower than his normal pitch. His hair has been messed up and his face is now puffy. Something you find incredibly endearing as he slowly sits up and looks at you in question with barely opened eyes.

You quietly giggle and to your side, you hear Namjoon mumble, “How cute.” Taehyung takes your outstretched hands and allows you to guide him. Jin is already walking to his room with one of the many blankets wrapped around him.

“Are we sleeping in Jin’s bed tonight?” Taehyung stumbles into your side.

“Mhmm.”

Your eyes rake over the five boys left on the couch. “Are you guys going to be okay out here?”

“No,” Yoongi wriggles from underneath Jungkook until he’s off the couch and he greedily grabs your hand, “I’m going to bed too.”

“We’ll be fine,” Hoseok reassures you as Jimin shifts so he’s laying next to Jungkook, arms wrapped around his torso and legs wrapped around his hips. You intertwine your fingers with Hoseok’s using your free hand and bend over to quickly meet his lips.

Namjoon stands to meet you. “Happy birthday, baby.” You smile into the kiss and Namjoon gently squeezes your sides. He gives you another kiss, this one shorter but just as sweet.

Namjoon sits back down next to Hoseok and rests his arm on the back of Hoseok’s shoulders as you lead Taehyung and Yoongi to Jin’s room you. By the time you all enter, Jin has brushed his teeth and is changed into his pajamas. At seeing you with company, he breathes out a laugh and walks to his closet to pull out a couple more pillows and throws them on the bed. After you all complete your bedtime routine, you squeeze yourself under the covers and curl into Jin’s side. Yoongi slides into bed after you and shuffles so his chest is completely pressed to your back and you’re sandwiched between the two of them. Taehyung grabs one of the extra pillows and hugs it to his chest before falling onto the bed, his back against Yoongi’s.

You breathe into Jin’s neck, content and warm. “I’m gonna’ have to make a post or video to upload for my birthday, tomorrow,” you drowsily murmur.

“It’s a good thing you’re going to be filming then because the actual surprise Jungkook planned was for tomorrow. He knew you would be expecting him to do something today,” Jin responds back.

You do little to contain your smile in the dark room. “I know. We’re soulmates and he’s an idiot, there’s not a lot him or any of you can hide from me.”

Art Theft Committed by CreepypastaDotCom and Chilling Tales for Dark Nights

Hey everybody. I just wanted to tell an important story to anyone out there that’s an artist or a fan of horror media. In the wake of the mess last weekend surrounding Twitter account @RareHorror failing to attribute art they reposted to the creator and having a massive and embarrassing meltdown (which you can read more about here, language warning: http://www.pajiba.com/film_reviews/rare-horrors-twitter-meltdown-ignites-debate-over-artist-rights.php), I want to share a similar experience I’ve been having. It’s going to contain some disturbing (but fake) Photoshops and paintings so I’m sorry in advance if this sort of thing upsets you.

So about a month ago, while talking with some friends, one of them drew my attention to how the Twitter page for CreepypastaDotCom was tweeting out about a story on their main website using an image that looked a little familiar. There was no credit to be found. After a little digging we realized that it was the work of a rather well known, found footage-style artist who goes by SlimeySwampGhost, which many of us were familiar with. After discovering this, we collectively began filling their comments section with remarks about this lack of attribution. SlimeySwampGhost himself eventually asked for credit.

After a full day with no further response from CreepypastaDotCom, I decided to scroll deeper. I discovered that for the past few months, ALL their Twitter content was made up of uncredited artwork. Every post contained an excerpt, a link to the story it was from, a handful of hashtags, and an uncredited piece of artwork. Through this, I found another account called Chilling Tales for Dark Nights. They themselves are a horror audio drama/narration channel I’ve known about for a while. Not only did they have posts identical to those made on CreepypastaDotCom’s Twitter page, but they had made even MORE promoting their podcasts, audio recordings, and YouTube videos, still using artwork that they had no ownership of.

I want to put it into perspective how much of a profit these websites are making. If you visit CreepypastaDotCom (which I do not recommend), it is filled to bursting with ads. Their most recent story, which is only 1500 words long, contains four standard and one video ad to the right, a banner across the side and bottom, and three built right into the story, between every four paragraphs or so. I have seen an even higher number on longer stories. Though not an exact number, the site Worth of Web estimates that nearly 10 000 people visit CreepypastaDotCom and it earns nearly $150 USD daily. Though their site’s lack of ads is a little less apparent in its source of income, Chilling Tales for Dark Nights offers a subscription service starting at $5 USD a month and capping at $79.99 a year, locking many of their stories and recordings behind a paywall . On top of this, Social Blade estimates their channel earning between $144 and $2.3K USD monthly. These are not small groups making a mistake; these are large companies making the active decision to omit credit, at times going out of their way to do so.

So, I decided to spend a free afternoon going on a little crusade of using a combination of Google Images and other backwards image searching services to find and credit nearly ALL of the art they reposted in their respective comments section.

The most disturbing cases I’ve seen are:

-a few artists that I was able to tag directly that stated that they hadn’t permitted them to use their art nor was it free for anyone to repost or use (at bare minimum without credit)

-multiple artists who were selling the piece they used or others as a print

-several drawings that had logos, names, signatures or watermarks cropped out of the image to even further remove credit

-a handful of concept art from indie games

The most disgusting one I found was an advertisement featured on both Twitter feeds for a book on Amazon by K Banning Kellum. Attached to this was a piece that I discovered was hand painted by François Baranger for a crowdfunded book, cropping out the full resolution to hide the space where the text was meant to be placed. They were using art from an unrelated book to advertise another. Both Banning and Baranger have made statements asking that the advert be taken down.

It took a few hours before I heard any word from either of them. CreepypastaDotCom initially excused all this to Twitter’s word count, citing that their Facebook page properly attributed the specific artist I was referring to (which they mentioned was a “friend” of theirs). I pointed out that though yes, they did credit that very specific artist on that other social media, they failed to do so with a good majority of the art they were sharing, and that they had no issue adding an additional tweet to that chain after I mentioned it but still to none of the others.

Both pages did eventually remove all of the incriminating posts, but not before blocking me immediately after this interaction.

I had this on the back of my mind until a month later, when I decided to check up on both of them after the RareHorror incident occurred. When plugging their most recent text-based stories they began using (what I hope to be) stock photographs, and most of CreepypastaDotCom’s Facebook feed now consists of memes. But all of the images that they had removed on Twitter had not ben touched on this social media page, and I also discovered an Instagram page for Chilling Tales doing the same thing. While going about making similar remarks on these respective pages, I recognized the watermark of Omega Black, who’s work was stolen by them before, directly used in a thumbnail for their podcast, which is one of the ones currently hidden behind their paywall. In fact, a majority of their recent thumbnails on their website, as well as on YouTube, have art done by other people that they have not credited. They only credit the artists that they commission art from, which they can, have, and CONTINUE to do. I have made efforts to properly attribute and ask that they remove these images as many places as I have been able.

In the middle of writing this, CreepypastaDotCom has removed ONLY the post about post about K Banning’s book, leaving up everything else, and has banned me from commenting on their Facebook page any further. Chilling Tales yet to make any sort of statement about this behaviour. Since posting this to Facebook, I have now been officially blocked on both Chilling Tales for Dark Nights and CreepypastaDotCom on there, as well as CTFDN's Instagram. The posts that got the most negative feedback over theft (belong to Francois and OmegaBlack respectively) have all been completely removed, BUT all the others are still there. All my comments linking back to their respective portfolios, ArtStations and DeviantART profiles have been wiped clean and they are left uncredited once more.

In the end I just want this sort of thing to end. It’s not right that these pages are piggybacking off of the artwork of others to generate more interest and clicks, to earn a profit that the original creators will not see a cent of. As an artist myself who has had their art mistaken for free clipart in the past I can’t image what it must be like to have your work used on a much larger scale. So if anyone from the CreepypastaDotCom or Chilling Tales for Dark Nights team is reading this, please consider removing all these. It’s neither legally nor morally right.

If anyone following me is able to, I ask that you consider addressing all this yourselves on your social media of choice. I don’t want any outright harassment, but it seems like as with most large corporations, a large group of people expressing their dissatisfaction is the only way to incite any change. Any artists following me should be extremely cautious of who is using your art and for what purpose. If this is happening to anyone I know personally I’ve got your back and I’ll do everything I can to get it removed or appropriately attributed.

VOD news brings you the best releases of the week on Netflix, HBO, Amazon Prime Video … And we continue in the deepest of the summer, so it is not surprising that the content that arrives is quite, but generally weak. However, there are always exceptions and the big exception this week is Lovecraft Territory, an HBO series that premieres with a hitch strategy that we have not seen until now.

HBO is simmering this summer and this week more if possible: four garbage is what comes to offer, with the honorable exception of the featured title. And it is that Lovecraft Territory is not only very good, but it is available to anyone, since its first and only episode at the moment is free on YouTube.

Lovecraft Territory

Indeed, HBO Spain has put the first episode of Lovecraft Territory free on YouTube, where it will remain available until September 2. Just enough time for a few to dare to hit play … and end up subscribing to HBO, even until the series is completed. Because, I warn you, if you start it you will want to continue it (the only downside of the free chapter is that it is only dubbed).

Territory Lovecraft is based on a novel and mixes the typical terror of the American writer with the racial conflicts of the fifties with those who are still obsessed there, which in principle could set back more than one. However, the formula worked with Watchmen and – in a somewhat more pronounced way – it does it again in the case of Lovecraft Territory, which manages to hook immediately. If it maintains the level we can be facing one of the best releases of the year in its genre.

High Score: The World of Video Games

High Score: The World of Video Games It is undoubtedly the most interesting launch of the week on Netflix, at least from the cousin we have in MC: a documentary series that reviews the history of video games since its inception, addressing the most popular genres in its different chapters and with the participation of prominent names in the industry. Its main attraction is that it is not a common material due to the length of the work, but even so it knows little and will be superficial for those who have lived part of that history. If you see it in its original version, perhaps the voice of the narrator, Charles Martinet (It’s me, Mario!) Sounds familiar.
