Why Ariel gave up her voice
Ariel never gave up a voice for a man she has just met and hadn't talked to.
Ariel gave up her voice because she didn't value it. And she didn't value it because people around her didn't value it. They praised it when she used it for show, for singing for an audience that wanted to hear the sound but never listened to her words.
She felt unheard her entire life, misunderstood, alone, isolated. Sure, she has friends, like Flounder, Sebastian and more in the animated series, like Gabriella, her sisters, Urkin, etc. They all loved her but didn't understand her. Looked at her funny when she opened up about her love for the human world. Was even berated by some, like Sebastian and her father. She never felt heard. So, yeah, for everyone else, even the audience, is like: this girl is so stupid, she gave up her beautiful voice for legs.
Because with legs, she can stand, as she always wanted. And she never needed her voice to make Eric fall for her, or the castle's staff, with her personality, always overshadowed by her voice, she won everyone's hearts. With her blubby, spontaneous, happy, curious personality, she made the prince fall for her, made him forget that 'beautiful voice' he fell for (until Ursula put a spell on him, that is). Ariel felt heard for the first time, without a voice.
She didn't give up her voice for a man, but because she was so tired of not being heard, that she never saw the value of her voice, because nobody showed it to her beyond shallow reasons. She learnt, along with everyone else, how important her voice AND words are.
That's why I always felt related to her. I was always heard when it was convenient, if I expressed an opinion the adults around didn't like, I was shut down, belittled and patronized.
Your voice MATTER, will always MATTER. It doesn't matter how way you communicate. Look at Gabriella, in the animated series, she was mute but she still communicated and was heard by her octopus friend.
Please, NEVER let anyone make you believe your WORDS hold no value. Not even yourself.

Aziraphale and Crowley don't communicate and it stems from their first meeting.
Let me explain.
Before the Beginning, Crowley is at his most honest and his most vulnerable. He tells Aziraphale so excitedly all about stars and how long it's hoping to take for them to form.
Aziraphale is also bluntly honest (a trait he never really loses but does learn to temper) in telling him about the 6K year timeframe.
Crowley then mentions creating a suggestion box and Aziraphale frets over him, concerned already, and we all know how much trouble Crowley got in for asking a few questions.
This sets the tone for everything after.
Crowley stops being honest - "I'm a demon. I lied." - which also means Crowley has been disparaging his own demonhood at least since Aziraphale looked at him askance on a wall and said, "You're a demon. That's what you do."
Aziraphale stops trusting him, but he never stops being polite. Crowley doesn't attack him, so he doesn't attack either. Not at the Ark, and not with Job's goats. Aziraphale is still vaguely seeing the angel he saw in the stars.
Crowley even gives him the permit so he can doublecheck that everything's above board, so to speak. Then we've got Crowley lying straight to Aziraphale's face about killing Job's children because Crowley still sees the angel in the stars who told him the world and his nebulae were going to prematurely end.
The angel who let kids die in the Flood.
Yes, the angel who shielded him on the wall and gave away a flaming sword, so there's some comfort that he won't instantly get smote - "smitten" 😇 - but still the angel who staunchly toes the party line.
After all's said and done and Aziraphale cries about being fallen - cries over being just what Crowley is, even after seeing Crowley circumvent Hell's rules - Crowley tells him he won't tell anyone.
Crowley is good at not telling anyone things, but so is Aziraphale.
Season 1, we get this. Crowley doesn't tell Aziraphale about the hellhound until the last minute. Aziraphale doesn't tell Crowley about finding Agnes's book. Aziraphale doesn't tell Crowley he's meeting with Nazis, and Crowley certainly never tells Aziraphale how he knows them.
Season 2, we get more.
Things Aziraphale doesn't tell Crowley:
• Deringer in a carved out book and gun license
• Drivers license he's had for 90 years - as long as Crowley's had the Bentley
• Why his French is so bad (not until he's asked a direct question)
• He knows Crowley likes to rescue him
Things Crowley doesn't tell Aziraphale:
• Beelzebub dragged him to Hell and made him an offer
• He'd never shot a gun before
I'm sure there are more things I'm forgetting, but those are some of the big ones.
More evidence of their continued lack of communication after the Apocanot is the apology dance. (Although I love it and do need to see Aziraphale do it too.)
Crowley is not wrong, and Aziraphale is not right. They are both both. But that never gets discussed, which is why Crowley never has to talk about being brought to Hell. He never talks about Aziraphale being threatened by Extreme Sanctions.
Aziraphale doesn't know why Crowley comes back, but he very likely assumes it's because Crowley wants to do the right thing after all. Aziraphale is still thinking about the angel Crowley was (season 1, "You were an angel once") and sees every single instance of good as PROOF that Crowley could/should/wants to be an angel again.
Additionally, some of the things they do say don't get heard. Aziraphale likes to tell someone he's doing good now that he's no longer reporting to Heaven. Crowley teases him for it twice, back to back. Tone of voice and "doing good again, angel?" after Maggie says something about the rent.
Aziraphale craves being told he's doing the right thing. Aziraphale has been pushed into a place where he won't get that from the place he always has because Heaven is out of reach. If he'd communicated this to Crowley, who is doing everything he can as always to keep him safe, that Crowley would keep teasing him? That Crowley wouldn't gesture to someone in need and say, "Right. Have fun, angel." Anthony J'acts-of-service Crowley would absolutely let Aziraphale have all the bouncy fun miracles in the world without shame.
Also, when they discuss how to make Nina and Maggie fall in love. Crowley's idea - canopy, rainstorm, vavoom - is absolutely informed by his own experiences, but he doesn't leave it at that. He says he "saw in a Richard Curtis film." He won't let that uncomfortable truth live in reality, pushing it off to humans and film. The realm of fiction, as Aziraphale immediately latches onto.
They don't talk about themselves. They don't talk about being an US. They said their side without getting into the nitty gritty of what that means to the point where neither knows where the line is.
Aziraphale says our car and when Crowley refuses because my car, Aziraphale also says they both get use out of the bookshop. Our car, our bookshop. It's a melding that Aziraphale assumes is perfectly natural, but Crowley hasn't seen it that way. They haven't talked about it.
And when they finally do, Aziraphale is running on the assumption that because Crowley does good and was happiest as an angel, looking over a colourful nebulae - so happy with it, he didn't want to lose it and ended up Falling for it - of course Crowley would want to go back. Of course Crowley would want to be in charge (second in command) since it means doing what they do on a larger scale.
Crowley, however, is still keen to keep going as they have been. Alcoholic breakfast at the Ritz, fixing up the bookshop like nothing happened, getting Muriel away so it can just be the two of them. Crowley is ready for the status quo. Although he does have new knowledge that the car and the bookshop are theirs, he and Aziraphale still carried the plants back to the Bentley.
They are still not talking.
And when they do, it's too little and it's too late. And they never ask each other why.
Next season, they need to learn how to ask why. And I have faith they will.

Communication is Key
This week in BL Land:
Ten: I found a note that said "I'm scamming the doctor for money" Prem: That was my sister, but I'm sorry, and it's not true. Ten: You're my Linda Evangelista, so I believe you.
Tumblr media
Karan: You're perfect and you always know exactly what I'm thinking which is why I feel like I suck compared to you. Achi: I can read your mind, and I have been doing that this entire time. Karan: OH MY GOD! So you know how much I love you because you hear me thinking about you 24/7 even when I'm sleeping?! Let's move into together!
Tumblr media
Hiro: I didn't show up for the date I scheduled. I'm awful! I'm horrible! Kai: Nah. You just have a demanding job. I understand. Here's some food. Hiro: I still suck, but this food is good, and I will make this up to you because you deserve to be treated well and not have low expectations of people.
Tumblr media
Soga: I saw you with your ex, and it made me jealous! Sakae: I'm glad you were jealous, but I only have eyes for you, which means my eyes saw that your ex called you. Soga: We are only friends, and I didn't want to speak to her because I was with you. *kiss*
Tumblr media
Charlie: I faked my death, so you were crying over an empty grave. Babe: God, I love you.
Tumblr media
Prom: I helped your brother fake his death. Nont: I fucking hate you. Prom: Can we still hang out? Nont: *eye roll* I guess. But I'm still pissed off at you. Prom: I wouldn't love you if you weren't.
Tumblr media
These BLs really said, "Problems. What problems?" and kept it moving.
AND I LOVE IT!
The plots keeps moving along, and I get to focus all my brain cells on the one show where the lack of communication is pivotal.
Tumblr media
Good for all these BLs for finally understanding that talking to one another really matters, mostly when faking death. Do you see where I'm going with this Dead Friend Forever?

Okay so this is a bit rambly but bear with me.
One of my favourite things about the rwrb movie (the book too, but does it to a lesser extent) is that, in defiance of all romcom conventions, every time there is a misunderstanding/conflict, instead of stewing in it and letting it create more problems, within minutes of screen time, one of them forces a confrontation, they communicate and the problem goes away. (Almost like communication works or something.)
This happens multiple times throughout the film: Alex hates Henry. Henry makes him explain why, the hash it out, Henry apologises, problem solved.
Henry ghosts Alex after New Years. Alex makes him meet with him. Okay, to say they talk it out is probably too generous, but communication happens. They establish that they both want this (repeatedly), they create some mutual understanding, Henry lays out the boundaries of what this relationship can be for him and they find a way to make that work.
The same when Henry runs away from the Lake House. Alex comes after him and forces him to talk to him and while they obviously can’t solve the root problem, they settle on a compromise and a promise of ‘we’ll figure it out together and we’re not giving up’. They're back together and reasonably optmistic about the future.
To a lesser degree this even applies to other relationships in the film: Alex and his mom’s fight after the Texas memo leak ends when Ellen starts actually listening to him and reads his memo.
The e-mail leak can only be handled once Alex breaks the communication embargo, goes to Henry and they talk to the king. (Who tries to hide the true reaction of the public from them and the situation can only be resolved once someone (Bea) tells them about the crowds outside.)
Ellen wins the election, because of Alex, after she listened to him and after she lets him give his speech/communicate his truth about the leak (unlike the king who tries to hide Henry away and deny the truth).
Characters get rewarded for talking to one another and punished for not communicating.
The memo wouldn’t have been a problem if Zarah and Ellen had actually listened to Alex’s ideas about Texas before. Alex and Henry end up in the wedding cake & their forced public friendship they hate, because they refuse to talk to each other like normal people and it only stops being a punishment when they start doing that.
Philipp is shown the entire film talking at Henry without any interest in listening to his brother even once. The same goes for King James. He doesn’t communicate, he merely declares his intentions and actively shuts down anybody else’s contribution to the ‘conversation’. Both of them end up not only looking utterly ridiculous but they also loose in the end. The loose face, the loose control over Henry and they’re the ones who have to pick up the pieces of their failure to handle this situation while Henry gets to celebrate and be with the man he loves. (You could even make an argument that the way he is in the election celebration and then at Alex family house symbolises he gets a whole new family and home.)
In so many comedies the humour relies entirely on people not having the simplest conversation and making the characters behave utterly absurd in order to avoid conversations, and here is this movie telling us over and over “Communication is important!” Blame my deep hatred for the avoidable miscommunication trope but I just love that.

Playing through Hades and I'm adoring the relationship between Than and Zag.
Zagreus: "Are we good, Than? Any annoying habits of mine I should know about?"
Thanatos: "Zag, you know I don't have time to list all your annoying habits."
Thanatos: "But if any of them go beyond my tolerance levels, I'll let you know."

I've always thought that one of the biggest problems 4halo has is that they think they know each other very well but they actually dont. They only know the carefully currated version they show the world.
Not only Forever but everyone on the island has seen Bad as the nice, caring, wholesome person who is always there to help if needed and occasionally steals furnature. Forever doesnt know he's a demon. He doesnt know his dark sides, the lenght he is willing to go to for the people he loves no matter who gets hurt in the process, how much he is hurting himself for it. He only saw a glimps of that after the eggs disappeared and then in purgatory. Thats why he was so shocked and worried and tried to fix him when he saw Bad acting out. Because that was not his Badboyhalo. Not the person he believed he knew so well. He didnt know that there was nothing to fix just his true self finally showing through.
But it also means that he doesnt understand the way Bad shows affection and how much he cares about Forever. All his political discussions only happened because he cares so much about him. And panks are literally the way you can tell how important you are to Bad. The whole gifts vs presents conversation Bad had with Tina if anyone remembers made that so so clear. And thats also why he expects Forever to ask him out for dinner after the pool thing! Thats (for once) not him being sarcastic but he genuinely doesnt understand that humans dont view pranks as basically a love confession!
And thats where Bad not understanding Forever starts. He doesnt get why Forever gets angry when he gets pranked or when they are having a shouting discussion. Forever has never shown how much he struggles with self worth and feeling like he doesnt matter, cant do anything right and feels basically useless. Bad doesnt know how much he struggles with all the pressure from being the president and wanting to make things better for everyone but it never seems to fix anything. Bad doesnt understand how feeling like he's in control means so much to Forever and how him losing control made him almost apprechiate the happy pills.
And all of that cause THEY DONT FUCKING COMMUNICATE!
They are a complicated mess and I love them <3

Tonight I experienced a little win that I shall celebrate. I had a conversation with a dear friend of mine that set me off a little. So I texted my husband (for context we're currently long distance) and when he called I straight up said: " Look, I am upset and I need reassurance from you. I am going to tell you what happened and then you're gonna give me reassurance. " And bro stepped up to the task 🥹. He didn't disappoint Allahuma barik. But I am most proud of myself because not only did I identify my emotion and my need from my partner but also I VOICED them explicitly, clearly, in direct simple language ( yes, you gotta break it down for men, their emotional part of the brain is not quite developed lol). Old me would just put her walls up and stay upset or even work herself up to an even darker place and then resent him for not getting it. And here, my beautiful girls, is a proof that a) therapy works and b) clear communication is always the key 😌. Alhamdullillah. Please don't give up on yourselves nor on your relationships. There is always hope things could and will get better. Any relationship in this world no matter what the nature of it needs work, and hard work pays off.

I’m begging PA to give us at least ONE kazurei interaction in which they’re just idk, lovey in a way. Like Rei gets a minor injury and Kazuki just patches them up.
Or to maybe let them talk about what happened during kazuki’s “disappearance”. In my opinion, more communication between is NEEDED SO BAD. I can’t express enough how much I am dying to just see them trust each other. LIKE BRO TALK. YALL ARE FRIENDS. PARTNERS. CO-PARENTS. POSSIBLY LOVERS WHATEVER. TALK. TO. EACHOTHER.
but ig They’re trauma is preventing them. Which is understandable btw, but communication will improve each other’s relationship. Which will also help Miri too.

Envy
_______
Auva is curled up in a nest of soft things on the floor of Levi’s room. Pillows, blankets, plushies, possibly a beanbag chair or two—all piled high on the floor in front of a big screen.
Levi is there too, of course. Sitting just slightly out of arm’s reach, reclining in the blanket nest with his Ruri-chan body pillow. Relaxed as she’s ever seen him. He’s hugging the pillow like it’s his best friend as he and Auva marathon TSL for quite possibly the 15th time.
At this point, Auva knows these movies so well she could speak every line along with the characters. So, as much as she enjoys the story, it’s not exactly keeping her focused.
‘I’M his best friend!’ Auva can’t stop herself from thinking, as Levi watches peacefully. She mentally side-eyes that passing thought as soon as she notices it.
Envy is not a familiar feeling for Auva. Sure, she’s felt short flashes of mild jealousy before—small moments of it that are easily acknowledged, dealt with, and released. Quick and simple.
That’s… not what this is. She tries to push it down, for further examination later. She pointedly thinks of how peaceful this is, what a good time she’s having watching movies she likes, how nice it is to see Levi being so relaxed and open…
She holds out for about a movie and a half. But then, a scene where the Lord of Shadows gives Henry a hug has the twisting unpleasantness she feels in her gut suddenly roaring back to life. It burrows into the front of her mind. The unfamiliar feeling intensifies from the low, very ignorable twisting it was before, like pouring gasoline on a fire. It burns, insistent and cloying under her tongue.
Auva zones out in that moment, confused and distressed. Trying to identify whatever the fuck this is.
Simultaneously, Levi snaps out of relaxed TSL fixation mode. He feels the explosion of envy in his friend. It’s doubly palpable to him, not just because he’s attuned to feelings of envy as the avatar of it—especially in Auva through his pact with her—but more because he has NEVER before felt so much of it from her before!
“Uh—!? Whoaaaa… Auva??! Are you—do you wanna talk about it??” Levi sputters.
Auva freezes, looking away. She’s figured out what caused the bad feeling, but not what the bad feeling is quite yet. In order to find the cause, she has tracked the start of the feeling to when Levi joined her in their blanket nest, but chose to sit too far away from her to touch, to cuddle with a pillow instead of his best friend.
She’s embarrassed to realize this. Fruitlessly, she tries to hide it. She doesn’t want to lie to him, but… she can’t say it! “No, no! It’s nothing, don’t worry, I’m good! Everything’s fine!”
Levi shoots her a flat look. “Stupid normie, I can FEEL it! Did you forget what I am? There’s no point lying!”
Auva groans, burying her face in her hands. ‘??? He can feel it—OH. Oh. Envy. So that’s what that feels like then. Fuck, okay.’ She thinks, cringing at herself.
“Nooo… Levi, really, it’s nothing! It’s so dumb!”
“But I wanna help! WHY won’t you tell me? That’s SO not fair..!” Levi exclaims, looking stressed, worried, and a bit hurt. “Of course you wouldn’t trust a gross icky otaku like me…”
‘Fuuuuck, of course he’d take it personally!’ Auva mentally groans to herself.
“No! No, you know I don’t think that! You’re not gross, Levi! I… it’s just—umm, well…” she trails off. Can’t say it.
She huffs, frustrated, and flails for a moment before taking her DDD out of her pocket. She goes to text him instead.
> ruri pillow gets hugs and I don’t >:[ Henry gets hugs and I don’t >>:[[[ I want hugs too >:[ >:[ >:[
Levi’s text tone goes off. He reads her message.
He freezes awkwardly. Buffering…
Auva cringes, shoving her DDD away from her. She hides her face in her hands again. “I told you it’s dumb…” she mumbles.
“N-no! No, it’s fine! I just. I, was, uh—! Y-you… you really don’t think I’m too gross?” Levi stutters.
“Obviously not! We’re friends, we’ve BEEN friends, you know I love you—Why do YOU think you’re gross?! Is it because you’re a snake, do you think snakes are gross?! I like snakes!! Is that it? I don’t get it, Levi! You’re NOT gross, I’ll fight you about that if I have to! Is that really why you don’t touch me?” Auva rambles, her hands flapping frantically. “You keep telling me it’s okay if I touch you, you said you’re not uncomfortable with it in general, but then… you’ll sit next to me and hug a pillow but you won’t ever hug me, and I don’t get WHY! I keep telling you you’re not gross! Do you not believe me, or do you just…”
Auva cuts herself off. ‘do you just not love me’, she was going to say. She thought better of it. She knows he does. She knows. It would be unfair to him to scold him for not believing her and then to immediately turn around and not believe him. She knows he’s shy, too. It isn’t a problem if he’s uncomfortable with touch of course, but he keeps telling her that’s not the case, so..???
Levi seems to know where she was going with that. He flails, stuttering his rebuttal just as frantically. They never resemble each other more than when they’re panicking at each other like this. “I..! It’s NOT like that!! It’s not that—that I don’t l-love… you, o-or anything..! I just..! It’s just… I’m gross, I don’t think you’d want ME so close to you!”
“But I do though! I really do! You’re NOT gross! Levi… Levi, you’re not gross. You’re my friend. My friend is not gross. Please believe me?” Auva says, her agitation quickly dying down into just sadness.
Levi’s energy simmers down to match hers. With a sigh, he steels himself. Dismissing his ever-present shyness as best he can. He puts the Ruri pillow down in the pile next to him. He fixes his gaze into a far corner as he sticks out an arm in Auva’s direction, shyly gesturing for his friend to close the distance.
Auva rushes to comply before he can change his mind. It’s about half a second until she has ducked under his arm and moulded herself against him, shifting until she’s comfy and as close as she can get. She ends up draped over the left side of him. Her fingers tangle into the fabric of his shirt, clinging, as if to prevent anyone from removing her. Her cheek smushes against his shoulder. Her glasses get knocked off as she presses her face against him. She doesn’t care.
“Stupid noodle… y’r not fuckin gross…” she grumbles to him, her voice muffled against his shoulder.
“…if you say so, I guess…” he mumbles back. He puts his arm down across her shoulder blades. His hand wraps carefully around her right bicep. His other hand retrieves her glasses, then places them on the floor where they’ll be safer. He turns his attention back to the movie to distract himself from his self-consciousness.
As for Auva, she’s fully ignoring the movie in favour of committing this absolute gift of a moment to memory. Every detail. The rhythm of his breathing and heartbeat, the sounds of his joints shifting with each minute adjustment he makes, the cool temperature of his skin, the unscented soap and ocean scent that sticks to him, the gentle pressure of his arm draped over her, the feel of his thumb absently rubbing over that one small strip of skin on her arm and occasionally fidgeting with the hem of her short sleeve. She blissfully soaks in every detail.
Her heart is warm, and she LOVES her friend. She’s relaxed, boneless. Very comfortable and happy to be held.
As the next movie plays, Levi ends up absentmindedly pulling her into the same position he had the pillow in before. Reclining fully against his chest, more or less in his lap as both his arms wrap securely around her back. She couldn’t see the screen like this if she were trying to. She’s not though, so this is more than fine with her. She’s seen these movies so many times by now that the audio alone is enough to have the visuals projecting in detail from her memory on the back of her eyelids.
Auva stays still and quiet, carefully relaxed, trying not to draw attention to herself. Hoping he’ll stay distracted until the entire series is over, so it’ll take as long as possible for him to get awkward and push her away again. Fuck, she dreads the idea of being pushed away.
Hours later, the story ends. Levi’s distraction is over. Her fingers clench in his shirt again, clinging. She doesn’t want him to let go. Doesn’t want him to make her go…
“Auva..?” Levi softly calls, having noticed her tension returning. “I… it’s okay, you know. You don’t—I’m not kicking you out. If you’re sure you want to be here. I’m not uncomfortable, or anything, is what I’m saying. Is that, um… that’s what you’re scared of, right?” he sighs. Pulls her a bit closer, so he can lean down to comfortably bury his face against her shoulder without dislodging her. “We’re gonna have to talk about this, aren’t we…”
“Mm. Probably… ‘s important. But… tomorrow, though? I’m comfy...” Auva mumbles.
She yawns. He nods, agreeing to have a real conversation about this tomorrow. They cling to each other a bit tighter for comfort, as they both try not to think about how scary that is.
“Hey, Levi?” Auva whispers.
“Hm?” He hums inquisitively.
“I really love my player one. SO much. I hope you know that.”
He inhales sharply, quickly squeezing her as he takes in her familiar words. She has told him so many times before, but it hits him in the heart just the same every time.
“Yeah. I know.” He whispers back. “And I love my player two. So much. You know that,” Shy as always, even though he has said it before too.
Auva nods. She gives him an affectionate squeeze too, before relaxing again. Intending to go to sleep right there.
The upcoming conversation still scares them, but just a bit less now. They’ll have each other, after all. They’ll help each other.
They’ll be fine.

Luke is like…teach me your powers jace you have aegon wrapped around your finger I wanna do that but with aemond lol
He doesn’t know that Aemond is, in fact, whipped as fuck for him. Because a stick shows more emotion than Aemond, but Luke is whining and ranting to Jace one time and Aegon overhears and is like “Are you kidding? You could ask that uptight prick to lick the floor clean for you and he’d do it. All you gotta do ask for him to stop being such a twat or you’ll get a better alpha. That shall do the trick. Also might result in a few broken things, but it’ll be worth it.”
No one should take advice from Aegon ever, but he was right this one time.

is it ok to give a mimikyu a new cloak? i have been thinking of making a new design for mine and i was wondering if that would really be good for it. if so how would i go about it? i have a few ideas like maybe making one together with it and of course i’d let it change on its own. i’m not even sure if mine knows how popular pikachu is anymore, it never goes outside and i don’t have any pikachu stuff in the house. maybe it would like a new look. i always give mimikyu loads of love and attention and i thought it might be a fun thing to do? any tips would be appreciated
i think this is super plausible. maybe tell mimikyu your plan and let them pick out what kind of cloak it would want & let it move into the new cloak isolated. like a dwebble

Aziraphale being excited to see Crowley and immediately getting boomphed in the face with a plant is funny, but what I love is that he just accepts it. “Oh, there he is- Alright we’re bringing the plants back to our car.” There’s a split second of shock but he immediately helps out. He even entertains Crowley baby talking the Bentley. Aziraphale knows the car didn’t miss him, and still tells him otherwise. He lies so much in that scene from not mentioning Shax or the Bentley having a favourite parent, and he helps with the plants but he only does it all so Crowley isn’t sad :’(
