stranger things characters using spotify:

nancy: has 800 playlists for every single mood possible, makes playlists based on movies she loves, playlist descriptions are quotes she loves, takes hours to pick her playlist covers, has a hidden one she made for steve when they were dating, classical music playlist for studying, doesn’t follow anyone back but has like 1k followers

robin: also has a fuck ton of playlists but they are extremely disorganized, makes a new one every month and puts whatever songs she hears into it, constantly asking nancy to show her how to change the playlist covers

steve: has like 10 playlists, each one has an exorbitant amount of songs that don’t even relate to each other, has titles like “chill” and “vibey”, 110% has a sex playlist that is super cringe with mostly the weeknd on it, but also “i just had sex” by the lonely island, keeps trying to put people on jack harlow

mike: probably has apple music but for the sake of this…literally no playlists just listens to his liked songs which pisses everyone else off because he has to skip like 50 songs till he finds one he wants to listen to, no one lets him have aux

eleven: has no clue how to use spotify so she’s subjected to mike’s liked songs dumpster dive

will: has about 30 playlists and each of them are dedicated to a specific moment or place that is meaningful to him, ex) listening to should i stay or should i go with jonathan, the first time he met mike, castle byers, mike’s basement, a lot of them are related to mike but everyone writes it off as them being best friends

jonathan: has almost as many playlists as nancy, uses photos he takes as the playlist covers and tries to match the mood of the image through the playlist, has a huge playlist of recommendations for will that he’s always adding to, has a collaborative playlist with argyle for the sesh

lucas: half the time he has aux because his music taste is so respected, tells everyone he doesn’t like pop but has a private playlist with taylor swift and one direction, has huge genre playlists that he adds to all the time, then puts his fave songs from each genre in more specific ones that he uses at parties, has a playlist of songs that max has talked about that is also priv

dustin: other half the time he has aux just because he asks for it so much that everyone gives in, his playlists are mostly good though, except for the meme ones that just have spongebob theme music and the imperial march, listens to a lot of rap bec of steve influence but his taste is better, playlists have a lot of denzel curry, baby keem, kendrick, jcole, etc, unabashedly plays pop music and abba

max: doesn’t let anyone follow her on spotify because a lot of her music taste is from billy and she doesn’t want to have that conversation with anyone, a lot of her playlists are old because of that and she normally listens to lucas’s but would never tell him

eddie: somehow has more followers than nancy because the metalheads are all obsessed with his playlists, of course there’s a ton of metallica, motley crue, and van halen, definitely sends dustin a new playlist right after he makes it, also takes time choosing playlist covers that he thinks are “metal” enough, has a playlist dedicated to songs he wants to learn on guitar

hopper/joyce: have no clue what spotify is they use pandora

mike, will, lucas, and dustin also have a collaborative playlist that they use when they play D&D that lucas and dustin add to the most so it’s all over the place, sometimes lucas deletes songs that mike adds because its like xxxtentacion or juicewrld, there’s random star wars soundtrack songs on it
