I am thinking about this one time when I saw a person refer to Funny Valentine as a "worse Enrico Pucci". I hadn't finished Steel Ball Run at the time, but now that I've finished it, I have to say that I... don't get it. You could draw some similarities between the two of them, but overall they're pretty different characters.

I feel like something I need to address specifically is the fact that PLEASE dont follow me if youre going to send me weird ass messages after you realize Im a (rather agnostic but still) jew who lives in Israel. Its a VERY complicated topic and a conflict that has existed for so many years for a reason. But that being said, westerners seem to think that once they read a single twitter post and see some images of dead ppl (which from everything Ive seen lately are mostly either biased, propaganda or straight up lies) they can tell US, who live here, from the very conformity of their couches far far away, what we should do.
I love to give ppl the benefit of the doubt and please ask that they do EXTENSIVE research, before engaging on this topic if they really really need to. Try for once in your life to actually research a topic and see it from all sides before forming an opinion, if you must at all. But remember that YOU dont get to decide whether Im allowed to exist or live, and my ppl will never again entrust our safety and existence to ppl that watched us be slaughtered again and again for two entire millenia and either did nothing or encouraged it.
If you cant do that, then Ill ask you to kindly not engage in that topic at all. I do post/reblog about it here and there, between all the memes and fandom stuff, bc it affects me personally. I will not blame you for unfollowing me or anything, and you can simply ignore it and scroll past like a sane person would do, if you are just on tumblr for the funny and fandom.

First question! What art program I use!
Mostly procreate, along with a handful of brushes! (Specifically the Jing Set and some custom stuff, which is really just a circle brush with the shape changed to a square.)
Second question! How do i draw so much!
Okay so. I am. Ahhah. Unemployed,,,,? No, I do freelance illustration, but hmm. A studio job would be nice.
i graduated college last year and I’m very used to eight hour art shifts. The body sort of remembers to keep working, even though I no longer have storyboards or visdev homework to do.
Also. The hyperfixation is a deep vast tunnel I STILL have not seen the end of the light to, good golly. (I have dreams now about the kids committing shenanigan crimes. I wake up in cold sweat and write them down in a journal. It’s like being the mouthpiece to an angry god.)
So the overall gist is: I was trained to be a storyboard artist with a visdev background, and I’m using that higher education to draw funny muppets because my brain’s funny.
I also DO have a queue, and I’ve been treating this as a sort of inktober project. I am definitely going to slow down soon though! Maybe. Hopefully. Ah… (sheepishly drops my kofi here)
Third question! How do i color!
I. I, uh. I dont know man the coloring demons have a grip on my soul and i just go along for the ride. But also, if it helps, i prefer to limit my pallets to only a few colors at a time. Lighting is king, so if you can figure out if you want to focus on either on your lights or shadows, you’ll have a much easier time composing. That, and symbolic colors— idk, something hits different about art drenched in gold with a tiny hint of a man staring into the blinding horizon, or a green leafy environment with a single dot of artificial red. I also like using blue and purple for shadows, and I’m a big fan of muting colors with only one or two that pop— one of the reasons why I was so attracted to submas in the first place is because from a design aesthetic, they’re both super funny muppet men AND really cool train guys that have a limited pallet and thematic apparel.
Overall response! THANK YOU SO MUCH. This goes out to a BUNCH of people who sent me inbox queries— sorry for not responding, it’s a tad overwhelming because some of them are story questions even I don’t really know will go yet, and others are words of praise and I’m selfish and like scrolling through the inbox to look at them when I feel down. I am more of an artist who sits in the corner and sprouts like a potato rather then a branching vine who socializes, but I really do see people’s responses and they make me go :)))))

Characters in Ace attorney that i believe are aware of fanfiction✨ ( and fandom )
Warning i haven’t played all the games yet, in fact my apollo justice trilogy is crashing every time i try to open it, so all the characters from after aa3 are based on fandom osmosis
Miles Edgeworth - writes Steel Samurai fanfiction on ao3 and has been doing it for some time now (the living embodiment of the ao3 writers curse) would rather die than anyone finding that out tho, doesn’t have a lot of free time so only posts once in like 3-4 months, fics are pretty good and distinct since he writes them with so much formality, so he is relatively popular in some fandom spaces;
Maya Fey- fanfiction reader only, runs an account on Tumblr for Steel Samurai news and fanwork, famous in the fandom and runs a discord server, one of those people that lowkey have their own fandom mostly bc of the insane revelations she drops about her own life from time to time ( “ lmao guys sorry for being absent but i got accused of murder for the 4th time and that really sucked ANYWAYS did you guys look at the leaks for the new reboot… “ ) Shes also way too open about herself on the internet;
Simon Blackquill: Sasuke fan ( derogatory ) also steel samurai fan tho, dont think he goes out the way to read fanfiction ( i think if he did he would read them in fanfiction.net ) but its pretty funny to think hes edgeworths beta reader ( AN: sorry for the delay, unfortunate circumstances came to light that my beta reader was arrested and is now on death roll ) He ran an AMV account on youtube before going to prison;
Trucy Wright: Shes 16 and her only friends are her dads coworkers, she opened wattpad AT LEAST once, probably accidentally read one of those “got sold to one direction (gavinners)” fics and immediately closed the app;
Klavier Gavin: opened wattpad to see what type of fanfiction people were writing about him, he runs a secret fan account and shares fun facts about him and his bandmates as “hcs”, also pretty popular but most people hate him bc they believe his depiction of the gavinners is “too ooc”. He is actually pretty impressed by the quality of most of the works and alludes to their existence constantly in his main on twitter, the fans go insane everytime;
Franziska Von Karma: I don’t believe Franziska is a fanfiction reader nor is she into any fandom, i do however believe she has notifications turned on for Edgeworth’s ao3 account, he doesn’t know that of course, what a foolish fool to think he could hide such a thing from his big sister, she will sometimes quote his work back to him and find amusing seeing him freeze. He thinks its a coincidence because he is too secretive about his hobbies, he’s wrong, she’s been following him online since she was 13, that’s how she knew he wasn’t dead in JFA.
Extras: Phoenix is technologically illiterate, he couldn’t read fanfiction even if he wanted to. Apollo is way too normal for that, he has the law autism not the fandom one. Athena knows of fanfiction bc she is young and in the internet but she wasn’t very interested in it. If you ask Gumshoe about fanfiction he would give you a smile and say “Of course im a Fan of Fiction Pal!”. I do believe Pearl has wattpad but only reads original works on there, so in my opinion she doesn’t count.

mudwing headcanons
(PLEASE click on her she is so beautiful to me and tumblr kills her with hammers)
physical traits
another huge tribe; longer than ice wings, shorter, but very bulky and muscle-y (think alligator)
alligator is pretty much the keystone of my design for them, and also their design is probably the most canon compliant one i have (said moments before i go against this)
i do like the idea of giving them thicker tails, more adjacent to seawings than any other land dwelling tribe, and also just leaning into the swampy aspect of them more
depending on how aquatic of an environment they’re incubated in (and also depending on parent’s genetics) a mudwing can hatch with fins! it’s not entirely uncommon (fins smaller than seawing fins)
mudwings can have tail fins, fins running down their stomach, and their neck. this is distinct from seawings as mudwings never have fins running down their spine or fins on their limbs
mudwings have HUGE horns and ears to siphon heat away from their face
they also have a throat sac like icewings! they produce a variety of throat song, mostly akin to various frog sounds
also,,, tusks protruding from their lower jaw! (that i just realized i forgor to draw,,,,) this is used for foraging, and also agriculture (tilling soil, etc) which mudwings are particularly proficient in
mudwings also tend to have ecosystems growing from them,, algae and duckweed etc on their backs, necks, and tops of heads which helps camouflage them
speaking of camouflage,, colors,,,, well you know
mudwings only being brown is actually the most boring concept i've ever heard 😭so they’re not! brown is still the most common, green is also very common, muted reds, oranges, and yellows as accents float around as well
culture <3 (social structure)
okay i actually love the SCRAPS of culture content we have of the mudwings
so i guess i want to start out with family structure and community,,,
the whole “breeding night” is so fucking funny to me,,, and it’s staying. i will keep it. i think this can also coexist with courting and mating and committing to another dragon singularly, and maybe all mudwing communities just consist of really complicated polycules
although parents aren’t always directly and singularly involved in the raising of their clutches, the adults still communally raise/look after the hatchlings, even if it’s somewhat from a distance
also, i think clutches know their parents and vice versa, even if there’s no special connection, you have to avoid incest somehow,,,,
so sib groups grow up together and rely on one another, like how it is in canon
if a bigwings egg is a “dud” and doesn’t hatch or is,,, abducted from the nest for the purpose of a false prophecy,,,, it’s actually really detrimental to the other eggs and can put them at risk to not hatch
clay’s sibs successfully hatching and growing up is,, a miracle im saying. the bigwings is the CRUX of everything. first to hatch, fastest to develop, grows the biggest, etc etc
i also think bigwings can produce fire at a slightly wider range of temperatures in order to keep their sibs warm if they’re ever under duress
on the topic of clutches and bigwings and,, everything
one egg clutches are considered crazy bad luck, and they need a lot of maintenance from an older dragon in order to actually hatch
if it’s feasible (like a clutch of a bigger size was laid on the same day) the single egg will be transplanted into that bigger clutch asap
also a similar feeling about 2 egg clutches, but it's not as bad
single and 2 egg clutches happen VERY frequently with hybrids, so often a hybrid will be in another sib group and all of their sibs go “yes they are us. oh they’re purple? they’re literally us what do you mean”
on the topic of hybrids, seawing and mudwing hybrids are insanely common, to the point where the majority of mudwings on that border are at least a liiiiitle bit seawing
there’s a lot of communal learning and passing down traditions in agriculture, farming, and animal rearing, and oftentimes a family farm is passed down from one sib group to another
(i don’t only make humble farmer mudwings though, there’s also a lot of artisans, scholars, the equivalent of dragon environmentalists, etc)
so moving away from family groups and stuff,,,,, onto wider society, let’s start with the royal family
mudwings pass the crown down from eldest daughter to eldest daughter, through a “royal” line
basically, one group of sibs has the crown, then the oldest/first clutch will be promised the crown, but it can very easily be abdicated and passed to a different clutch if the oldest clutch doesn’t want it or seems not fit to rule
there’s not a lot of competition for the crown because sib groups rule together, and the queen position really doesn’t mean anything, at most acting as a tiebreaker
obviously, sibs never fight sibs for the crown. that’s like speed running a revolution from the mudwing commoner population. but also, cousins don’t tend to fight either because of this strong wider communal feeling
fashion, jewelry,,
i think mudwings don’t have a lot of fashion/accessories because of how swampy and wet their environment is. royals will have jewels embedded into their scales (like moorhen) but even this requires somewhat regular cleaning to actually look,, pretty and shiny? so it’s not common
other jewelry consists of tight bands of wood and clay around horns, clay earrings, rings and armbands
clay jewelry is especially common! including clay beads that represents their sibs
clay fired earrings, strings of clay beads draped across the body, etc is commonly found
jobs! (and also a rant on cuisine apparently)
briefly touched on earlier, idk how much expanding i’ll do here tbh
farming is pretty common, crops including rice, cranberries, watercress, taro, water spinach, water chestnuts,,,, you get the point. there’s a lot of crops to be grown and mudwings grow them!
not in monocultures though, there’s a lot of mixing of crops on the same farmland
also with farmers, animals are raised! but closer to the less swampy edges of the kingdom
they’re still partially wild honestly, but mudwings rear cows and boars very commonly
so much of mudwing economy revolves around food, so they have a very robust cuisine, and they grow/trade for a lot of spices and herbs (with the skywings) and they have a lot of practices surrounding food/sharing of food being sacred
oh god.,,,, the tangent is taking over,, im so sorry
marriage!! i think when mudwings want to get married there’s a long string of cooking for one another!! back and forth making beautiful dishes for one another until they make a beautiful dish TOGETHER. god i love them
aside from farmers, a lot of mudwings are artists! they carve wood and make clay sculptures and jewelry as well as weave baskets and jewelry and thatched roofs from fronds and other wide-leafed plants
pottery is also common
tanners make leather from cow and boar hide, and bookbinders make books (after contact with pantala) and trade with sandwings for dried parchment
also butchers, cheesemakers (cows milk)
as well, the typical circle of scholars and nobles that keep rigorous records on the queendom’s history
and of course, royal diplomats
religions/superstitions
less superstitious than icewings perhaps,, but i do think they have some shared beliefs
perhaps just in a “mother earth” “all mother” type of concept? a dragon that gave them swamps, and then all other life came from swamps, etc
of course, the egg superstitions from earlier
there’s a lot of superstitions/outright magic about sharing food and the etiquette around sharing food
oh, one of you dropped your utensil while eating? in the future you’re going to save each other from mortal danger
someone gifting dishware is considered a proposal,, but it can be platonic or romantic
the monarch spilled their drink? the rainy season will be rainier this year
just a lot of really niche things
yoppee, i love mudwings so much. i think there is so much untapped potential and what we have now is beautiful. love drawing them, love their color palettes, love their sib groups. yeah not much else to say here. as always, send a dm or an ask if you want to know about something further!

The tumblr q&a is over, but I was curious! I love all the different phrases the characters in isat/sasasa:p use--If it's something you can say, where did inspiration for "gems alive" and other phrases come from?

long post ahead
ok so when I was figuring out the world, I found this lecture on worldbuilding by Brandon Sanderson (go watch it, and also go read his books), and (im gonna paraphrase heavily here) one thing he mentioned is that, to make a memorable world, one thing you can do is pick a couple areas of culture, and go real deep with it. So like, pick fashion, and architecture, and interior design, and develop those a bunch, and bam! you convinced people you have a whole dang world, even though you only developed 3 areas of this world. hollow iceberg everyone thinks is a real iceberg.
he also mentioned the idea of like... getting weird with it? and develop based on a weird detail? for example, in his book The Stormlight Archives, one detail is that women have to hide their left hand at all times. ok, so what does that mean, whats taboo about a left hand? is the left hand shameful, or lewd somehow, the same way ankles were for us? what about fashion, what does women's fashion look like? and how do you live your every day life, knowing you can't show this hand, can you carry things the same way? etc
SO, for me, one of the Big Worldbuilding pillars i picked was, uh, swear words lol. or language and common expressions, more generally. i went on a whole journey where i was like... ok swear words in a LOT of languages (including french and english, both languages i speak fluently) are either sexual, or about gross bodily discharges. you know what words i mean!!!!!
and, well, i also didnt want the game to be full of those words, mostly because i think its a tightrope to use those words without seeming cringe, and also because i have a Core Memory of showing a comic to a colleague and she said "well i wouldve liked to show it to my kids, but you said fuck 12 times in there" and i didnt show my face to her for a week. family friendly family friendly family friendly
so what swear words should my characters use, that arent the same ones we use? and could those swear words actually tell us something about the world they live in? could i actually use those swear words... to show the characters come from different cultures???
and what COULD swear words be like, if theyre not about sex or body stuff? well irl they're usually about religions or belief. "oh god", "goddamnit", etc. as a sidenote, stuff like "oh my god" or "geez" arent used, because jesus christ is not canon to the ISAT universe. alright
i decided very early on i wouldnt have those in the game either, but i COULD have them be about the religions specific to this world. and for insults, i could have them be about stuff those beliefs would see as lesser.
anyway instead of talking about "gems alive" lets talk about "crab"
isabeau+mirabelle+bonnie use "crab" as a swear word because they follow a religion all around change, bettering yourself, evolving, and, the crab meme,
for those who dont get the joke, its about carcinisation, and about how a bunch of non-crab-like forms somehow evolved to a crab-like form. which would be horrible, for a religion all based around change!!! you mean we change and evolve, but theres a chance we might all become crabs??? CRAB!!!!!!!
anyway having "crab" kinda reads as 1. swear word 2. thats funny and weird (sets the tone) 3. tells you they know what crabs are (world not that different from ours, AND means they live close-ish to the coast, aka not land locked) and 4. crabs are somehow hated/feared, even if as the player you dont get why, it shows this country has its own culture (even if you dont get the crabs joke, which uuuh apparently doesnt work as well in countries that dont have this specific meme. WHATEVER!!!!)
(a few people came to me saying "heh, i get it, because crab and crap are very similar words" and um actually i did not think about that. crab is just a funny word on its own, and also i am a comedy genius without even trying)
anyway tldr: swear words as a worldbuilding tool. soon in theaters

I agree the joke was tasteless, no intention of defending it, but assuming bad-faith is a very good way to make using the internet a miserable experience. I'm not saying you have to take the time to educate people who are wrong and saying horrendously stupid or out of touch shit. I'm just saying life got easier for me when I approached situations like that with the perspective of "what's the least hostile reason they could be saying this" bc 9/10 times unless someone is spewing actual hate speech or making threats their either just uniformed or phrased things poorly leading to misunderstanding.
Anyway I hope people stop bothering you about this.
im getting a lot of these in my inbox and this one is one of the nicer ones so im just gonna respond about demilypyro this once
look i get it. i really do. ive been doing tiktok for years and that first year was absolutely miserable because i didnt know how to do that. now, 95% of the time, i just block and move on cause it genuinely isnt worth my time to care about it.
and what ive found is that directly addressing hate speech pretty much goes nowhere and is just bound to end up in frustration for me and fuel for the fire elsewhere.
but i promise that im not just reading with bad-faith intentions. this isn't the first time that something that demilypyro has said that has rubbed me the wrong way. and tbh, i had no idea who she was until i got on tumblr and i saw a lot of people circulating the occasionally very funny things she has to say. i do my best to give people the benefit of the doubt (especially on text based social media) but after following her for a second and seeing a lot of "shitposts" that were questionable at best and several that were just downright distasteful, i decided that i didnt care for her and unfollowed and moved on and since shes fairly popular on here, i also started unfollowing people who would rb her too.
recently i had to unfollow someone who said something incredibly icky involving minority consent and so i went through and followed some people who had followed me and who i thought posted funny things bc thats mostly what im here for. and one of those people just so happened to rb something she said that just triggered me so hard with the sheer stupidity and harmfulness of it.
i have a very very sore spot for religious trauma (something ive always been super open about) and i have little to no tolerance for when people say dumb privileged things AND i have little to no tolerance for specifically when white (or in this case white passing) trans femmes specifically say privileged things. and this just hit all of those spots.
it was quite cathartic for me to say what i said and i have no doubt that there's gonna be a lotta people who disagree and unfollow. there's some people who will get it, a lot of people who won't, and maybe even some people who might change their minds and this is important enough to me that it's worth it.

I actually did come up with a URL for Hawkeye once, but I was just editing a URL in a screencap to fit him better. A lot of people have tumblr URLs that have nothing to do with their lives, jobs, or interests (hi) but that's really hard to do with fictional characters so here are some ideas.

Waking up in bed with Carlos Sainz was one of your favourite things in the universe.
You'd been together for a while now, and his friend long before that. Your relationship was one of those where the lines blurred together. You couldn't remember the exact day high fives turned into intertwined fingers, or celebratory hugs turned into making out in his driver's room.
It was actually the fans that had gotten you together. Working so closely with him for years meant that there were always pictures of you two together, and through being caught on behind the scenes videos and in the background of paddock coverage, you became a fan favourite amongst the non-drivers of F1. You were fairly used to being caught by paparazzi, especially as you were often escorting Carlos, who was the object of anyone with half a brain's attention. It was Carlos who picked up on it, and that day you did remember clearly.
He'd given one of his signature shrieks, the one you knew would be immediately followed by that ridiculous squawking laugh he only did when he was completely comfortable and totally amused. It took him a moment to compose himself before he showed you the video he was watching. It was a TikTok, obviously, because only TikTok had the ability to create chaos like that. The video was titled "My Favourite F1 Conspiracy Theories", which you thought was pretty funny in itself.
They were mostly silly, things about drivers losing seats and FIA biases towards certain teams, and a certain Monegasque driver with a home race curse. You were just starting to wonder what was quite so funny about the video Carlos was showing you when you recognised the set of images that outlined the penultimate theory.
"Carlos Sainz and Y/N Y/L/N are secretly dating," the creator was explaining, and in the background was a collection of paparazzi pictures of yourself with Carlos. Individually you'd thought nothing of them, but when they were collected together like that the image was clear. His hand on the small of your back, guiding you through a door. You hugging him, his hands on your hips and your arms wrapped around his neck. The pair of you out to dinner, you laughing at something he'd said, him leaning forward with that killer smile and his attention solely on you. You walking so close together that with the blurred image it wasn't clear if your fingers were intertwined or not. Carlos, holding you, his mouth pressing a kiss on your forehead.
"Must be a big secret if I didn't know I was dating you," you'd murmured, your mouth dry and suddenly very, very aware of the lack of space between you. He made a noise in the back of the throat, and just watched you for a second, those big brown eyes fixed on your face.
"Are we?"
"What?"
"Are we dating?" you stared at him because who asks that? Your expression must have given away the bewilderment. "I kiss you," he said simply as if that cleared up everything.
"I think there's a bit more to dating than just kissing, Carlos," his eyes focused on something behind you, zoning out for a moment and then coming back to you.
"Yes,"
"Yes?"
"I think we are dating," if this was his way of asking you out it was weird, but Carlos was a little weird (and incredibly adorable).
"Me too," you said because after a moment's reflection you realised that you'd been playing the role of Unofficial Girlfriend without even knowing it, for who knows how long.
"Okay then," he nodded and that was it. Carlos never brought it up again.
But you did notice he was a little more touchy with you in public. He was quicker to hold your hand. You stopped creeping out of his room in the middle of the night.
The feeling of his arm snaking around your waist, pulling you gently into his back brought you back to the present day. Your bare skin pressed against his hard chest was a heavenly feeling. He was always so warm, it was like having the best electric blanket in the world. He made a low grunt in his sleep, which only made you snuggle deeper into his arms. Mornings like this, when he had a day off and you were allowed to wake up without ringing alarm bells and instant activity, made everything else you did with him so worthwhile.
"Good morning, mi sol," ever since he'd accidentally called you a nickname in Spanish instead of English and you'd practically jumped him on sight he made a point to allow more of his home language to infiltrate. You squirmed in his arms, partly in pleasure at the nickname, and partly because he was peppering your neck with feather light kisses and the combination of his scruffy beard and long hair was tickling you.
"Good morning," you turned in his arms, not able to resist his kiss any longer. He met you with equal enthusiasm, his large hand coming up to cradle your face as you melted into him. When he pulled away it wasn't far, your foreheads touching and noses brushing against each other.
"I didn't think it was possible to love someone this much," God, he was such a romantic. It made your heart swell because you felt exactly the same. Everything in your life revolved around Carlos, and you wouldn't have it any other way. Even if the both of you were teased mercilessly in the paddock because Carlos was like a puppy with separation anxiety these days.
It was a slow kind of day. After a morning of fooling around in bed, the pair of you finally stumbled into the shower because his stomach was growling so loudly that breakfast had to become a priority. He insisted on cooking for you, even though you were more than capable of fixing the food too.
You were wearing one of the dress shirts he'd worn over the weekend, only half the buttons done up and it only just grazing your thighs. Your legs were bare as the only other item of clothing you wore was your panties. Carlos was no better, a pair of light grey sweatpants slung low on his hips. It was too hot for a shirt, he claimed, and you weren't complaining. You were leaning on the breakfast bar in his house, watching the tanned Adonis you were lucky enough to call your boyfriend making you breakfast.
He was focused on the eggs, his head tilted down to give you his incredibly sharp profile, his long hair shining in the sunlight and flopping into his eyes. He'd shaved in the bathroom, so he was back to a perfectly shaped stubble shadow.
"Do you know how beautiful you are?" You asked him, his attention snapping to you with a raised eyebrow and a slight quirk of his lips. He loved compliments. "It's truly distracting," which made him break out into a grin, forcing him to look away for a moment as you spotted a light pink hue creeping up his neck. He put the pan of eggs down away from the head and came over to where you were, lifting you onto the counter with ease and settling himself between your legs.
"I think I'm supposed to be the one to call you beautiful," his voice was a low rumble in his chest, his accent made the words sound like cursive.
"You can show me," you offered, earning yourself a raised eyebrow and a very smug look.
"It would be my honour,"
