anyone else watch Hocus Pocus 2 thinking... so we’re just not gonna talk about how this book is bound in human flesh and we’re just not gonna wonder about how Gilbert made multiple black flame candles when the black flame candle is made “from the fat of a hanged man???” or was that just me?

#hocus pocus 2 #hocus pocus #anti hocus pocus 2 #<<i'm not actually anti the film i'm just tagging for people who are filtering #like don't get me wrong- i generally had a reasonably fun time watching the sequel #though i don't feel it holds a candle (pun intended?) to the first #but some of the stuff they glossed over was WILD imo #there were some really fun moments in the new one #but it definitely felt glossy & disney-ified imo #i mean i know the first film is also disney but it had an unexpected edge to it that this one glossed over #also i know the witches are the star of the show & that is still true #but watching the sequel really made me appreciate thora birch's excellent performance as dani in the first #anyway i also missed binx and i know it wouldn't make any sense for him to be in the sequel #but i missed him #listen I KNOW that the info on the items in the museum could technically be wrong #like they imply that it is by the fact that they retconned where the book came from #but also we're just not gonna talk about the human flesh/fat thing??#opinions #personal #td
