Jason is an undead man brought back fully by a Lazarus Pit. God knows what the two life sustaining liquids has done to him internally. (i'm imagining like an animal in formaldehyde that stays in solution for way too long and when you dissect it everything is already dissolved. Like the only thing inside its body that’s discernible is maybe a floating bit that could be a pancreas and some bits of intestine. No this isn’t from personal experience what do you mean.)

hey, Leverage peeps, I've got a thought. I've seen a lot of posts and memes joking about Nate's inability to understand that his clients do not want money, they want revenge. I also find this funny. but I was thinking about it and I realized something: there's a personal reason behind it. there is a very, very good reason why Nate doesn't get that.

Nate's drive to lead Leverage, outside of the crew, originated from his son's death due to his insurance company's refusal to cover the bill for the required treatment. we all know this. if his company had paid for Sam's treatment, everything would've been fine.

…or, if Nate had been a little wealthier, had a little more change to spend… maybe he could've paid for it. maybe Blackpool never would've had a say in any of it. maybe Nate would've had everything under control from the start.

we've discussed at length in the fandom how money equals safety for some of the others in the crew (Parker and Hardison grew up with little to none and know its importance to survival, Eliot needs it to stay ahead of his old enemies, etc.), but I don't know that I've seen any discussion on how it's relevant to Nate. for him, however, money equals security in healthcare and in housing (he lost the house, remember?). Nate's older than the others. he remained in the same place for much longer, and he had a stable life for a while. the others haven't been in that position before. many of their clients, however, are at that place in life.

yes, for the others, money keeps them ahead of the game and it keeps them secure. but none of them ever lost a kid because they couldn't pay for healthcare. none of them risk losing the life of someone who is completely dependent on them when they don't have enough.

(Hardison, perhaps, has the closest understanding, considering he hacked a bank to pay for his Nana's healthcare. but he never lost her.)

Nate thinks ahead, you know? he has a long-term view of things. I imagine that for him, when clients refuse the money, they're not just refusing a month's worth of groceries, or a place to stay the night, or the ability to keep running. for him, they're refusing control over their hard-earned, stable, long-term living situation. they're refusing the potential to save a family member's life.

I dunno, guys. I think that's a pretty good reason to not understand why people don't want the money.

Au idea so Shadow Milk can see through the moonstone. It’s how he keeps an eye on his academy. One day White Lily gives Pure Vanilla a moonstone necklace as like. A graduation gift (or maybe just one of those friendship necklaces) and it all spirals from there because now sm has contact with the outside world through pv. And since it’s pv and he’s a simp, he rarely takes the necklace off. So Shadow Milk constantly has eyes on him. He knows everything about him, even secrets he keeps from wl herself. He can’t speak to him until he obtains the soul jam of course, but he can make barely audible whispers and make the stone glow. Typical cursed jewelry stuff.

I go to an art school and 15-20 minutes per person is pretty much standard for crits here because class sizes are small and they want to make sure you get thorough advice on whatever you’re working on. so it’s kind of funny in like a “oh wow my experiences are NOT universal” way seeing you suffer. Sorry lol.

See i understand spending 15-20 mins on the piece if it NEEDS that amount of attention, but this was A) 20 minutes for EVERY SINGLE PIECE regardless of how strong the work was (and she WOULD NOT move on even when we straight up told her the piece was strong enough that we didn't have anything else to say), meaning that the crits on stronger work very quickly devolved into nitpicking as opposed to actual helpful advice, and B) it was NOT A SKETCH CRIT, this was a FINAL crit, so we're showing work that should, in theory, be in its most finished form. 20 minutes for sketches or in-progress work makes more sense to me because your work is less finished at that stage and you have actual time to implement the suggested changes, but for FINAL CRIT??? it's just BEGGING to have everyone leave discouraged and angry imo. it's one thing if the work isn't up to the standard of a final piece and NEEDS substantial crit, but there's no reason to force students to spend 20 minutes nitpicking the details of a portfolio-ready finished piece. it just wastes everyone's time.
