Y/n woke up with a delightful stretch as the sun began to creep over the horizon. The windows were fogged and the ashtray on her windowsill sat with half a cigarette resting from the night before.
That’s when she remembered her visit with Eddie and smiled before remembering his offer to pick her up. She sat up, panicking and searching for her clock.
7:03
She sighed, ripping the covers off her body and rushing to her closet to hopefully put together something a little less plain. She didn’t want to dress too differently to avoid feeling self conscious or drawing attention.
She pulled out some black jeans, her high top vans, and then selected a soft v neck that dipped lower than she typically allowed. She sighed and pulled it on, hoping it wouldn’t feel or look weird.
She threw on a flannel for extra warmth before adding her denim jacket, giving herself a nod of approval before deciding to give herself two french braids.
As 7:30 crept closer and closer, she’d glance at the clock, her heart leaping every time she noticed minutes went by, then of course quickly reminded herself ‘that’s how time fucking works’.
Eventually she heard the rumble of the heavy van idling in front of the house as she finished rolling a joint. She tucked it in her jacket pocket and headed for the door with a new pep in her step. She tried to keep the smile off her face as she walked.
She walked across the lawn, keeping her eyes on the ground until she heard a car door popping open. She jumped at the sound, quickly followed by Eddie’s laugh.
“Where are those nerves of steel now?” He hopped out of the van and rounded the front, looking fine as ever. Y/n felt like he had put more effort into his appearance this morning, though he looked wonderful every day. His curls were more defined and he seemed to smell fresher, his natural musk masked by his uncle Wayne’s cologne.
“I left them on the roof.” She chuckled as she tossed her bag into the open passenger door he stood by. She moved to climb in but he gently tugged on her braid to stop her. She cocked her head in question, right when he pulled her in for a hug. “Good morning.” He said softly, resting his cheek on her head.
Y/n sighed slowly, trying not to show how much she was obviously loving this. “Good morning, Eddie.” She giggled.
“You look nice today.” He said as he pulled away, his eyes flickering down her body.
“Oh, thanks, you too.” She blushed. Eddie clicked his tongue with a smirk and helped her inside, shutting the door behind her and running back around the front, his tongue stuck between his teeth eagerly.
“Alright, sunshine. Let’s get you to school.” He sighed contently, reaching over and giving her knee a squeeze which sent her giggling. “That’s dangerous information for me to have, sweetheart.” He teased before switching gears and driving off.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
The day before Hellfire flew by, Eddie picked her up on time the next morning and provided another after school smoke sesh. Robin and Y/n used their time that evening to bake cookies and brownies and of course some extra to feast upon after they sat on the roof and got baked themselves.
“So, when are you gonna tell Eddie you wanna kiss ‘em?” Robin asked through a drag, giggling at Y/n’s blushing cheeks. The girl shook her head insistently and snatched the joint from her snorting friend. “C’mon, you know I’m right. And he wants to kiss you too! It’s so painfully obvious.”
Y/n rolled her eyes before scrunching them closed with the harshness of the drag she was taking in. She exhaled and shrugged. “You and Chrissy really need to get together, you’ll have a ball.” She chuckled wryly, “I’m not trying to ruin anything. Maybe he’s just flirty. Maybe he just needs a friend he can relate to like he and I do.” She said, the last part not going unnoticed by the stoned Robin.
“You could just ask him?” Robin shrugged.
“If he wants to kiss me?!” Y/n asked incredulously. Robin fell into a fit of giggles, Y/n following close behind. “I’d die! I’d spontaneously combust. There’s no way, Robs.” She justified it before taking a heavy drag.
“I think he knows me well enough at this point to know I’m not capable of initiating such a thing. If it’s happening it’s gonna be on him, I already know it.” She mentioned; the thought of it making her stomach do flips before she thought back to the note he left her the other night, packed away in her nightstand, butterflies erupting.
Robin scoffed, “What’s so different between kissing people at parties and kissing Eddie?” She asked.
“Easy— I was stoned as hell and they were for party games and meaningless low grade sex with two boys that could never find the clit, and Eddie is… someone I couldn’t bear fucking things up with.” Y/n shrugged.
Robin nodded. “Well, from out here on this side of things, Eddie turns into a puppy every time he sees you. I'm pretty sure if you kissed him he’d spontaneously combust, too.” and nudged her friend as the timer went off, the conversation ending and the two heading inside.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
The next day, Robin was proven correct when the two girls chatted in the hall before class.
Y/n leaned her shoulder on the locker next to Robin’s while she stuffed books into her bag, when suddenly Robin’s smile grew tenfold. Before Y/n could ask, she was engulfed in a giant hug, an involuntary yelp flying from her lips as she was pulled backward and squeezed, the familiar leather sleeves the first indicator she wasn’t in any danger.
The second was the hearty chuckle that vibrated her right ear as he tucked his face into her neck. Y/n burst into giggles as Eddie released her all too soon, yet still kept a grip on her shoulder, tucking her back into his side.
“Morning, ladies!” He greeted as if he hadn't picked Y/n up and drove her to school. In his defense, he hadn’t seen her since he walked with her to her first class and it was now almost fourth period! After he released her he finally acknowledged Robin with a curt nod.
Robin gave him a small salute with her fingers and flickered her eyes to Y/n to see if she’d noticed, though the girl seemed too caught up in Eddie to care that she received the biggest confirmation of all confirmations she could’ve asked for.
“So, are you guys geared up to check out the campaign tonight? We’re starting a new one, it’s the perfect night to jump in!” He said eagerly, his brown eyes sparkling as he spoke.
The girls nodded, though Y/n definitely seemed more enthusiastic than Robin did. “We slaved for hours yesterday making you heathens some goods, so you guys better be kind and cordial.” Robin mentioned with a pointed look to Eddie.
And they did.
The boys gave the girls many high fives and pats on the back. Y/n blushed at all the praise as well as Robin, though Robin didn’t seek any credit or have any interest in joining Hellfire at all, really.
Robin sighed and waited for the game to start as everyone settled into their seats, and was happily surprised at the appearance of the only other female DnD player, Miriam Nguyen, who also happened to be very pretty, and suddenly she was interested.
Y/n replaced the tops onto the boxes of treats and turned to scan for a seat, when she noticed Gareth hurriedly grabbing his notebook and scooting out of the chair closest to Eddie’s screen.
“Best place to learn, right?” He smirked with a flourish of his hand. Y/n sat down with burning cheeks as Robin took the open seat next to her, on the other side of Miriam.
“Ladies and gentlemen, are you ready to start.. the Cult of Vecna?”
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
After two hours of shouting, dice rolls, and Mountain Dew burps, the session ended on a cliffhanger, much to the dismay of Gareth and Robin, who had taken a much deeper interest in DnD than she anticipated.
“That was insane, you guys do that every week?” She asked as they walked to the parking lot. Eddie grinned and threw his arm around Y/n’s shoulders. Before he could answer, a car pulled up next to them.
“Oh, look who it is!” Robin cheered as though she hadn’t asked Steve to pick her up so Y/n could hang out with Eddie alone. Y/n’s eyes widened as Robin winked at her and set her bag in the passenger seat through the open window, “Can I get a ride, Steve?” She asked as she entered the car and buckled up.
“Uh, y-yeah! I was picking up Dustin anyway.” He looked at her confused, knowing she’d explain when they left. “See ya, guys!” She waved as Steve pulled away.
Eddie held a pleased smile on his lips. “Well, looks like it’s just you and me again.” He began walking her to his van, his arm still around her shoulders.
Y/n nodded, “What a bummer, right? What else is there to do in this one horse town?” She asked as if in thought.
Instead of opening the passenger door for her like he normally would, he leaned back against the side of the van; his arm sliding from her shoulders to direct her to stand between his legs and holding her hand. He wore a smile on his lips like he had a secret, a glimmer of adoration in his eyes.
“What? Why are you looking at me like that?” She giggled, unable to hold his eye contact.
“I always look at you like this.” He said quietly.
She met his eyes, her heart pounding so hard she felt it in her throat. “So what do you wanna do? I’m yours til midnight.” She mentally cringed at the phrasing while Eddie savored it.
‘I’m yours’
“Only midnight?” He looked at her incredulously as he opened the door for her to climb in and closed it after her.
Something was different about Eddie tonight, though Y/n couldn’t place her finger on it. They didn’t speak a word and sat in a comfortable silence as Judas Priest played on the radio.
Instead of going to Y/n’s house, they went the extra mile section down to get to the trailer park. Eddie let out a breath he was holding through puffed cheeks as he parked the van.
“I want you to meet my uncle.” He raised his eyebrows in question, hoping she wouldn’t be weirded out.
“I-I would love to meet your uncle.” She stammered, her eyes fluttering in disbelief. Eddie smiled as he unbuckled his seatbelt and rushed around the car to hold her door open as she popped the handle.
“Afterwards we can smoke some of this new stuff I got from Rick, it’s purple, you’re gonna love it.” He said on their way to the door, absentmindedly taking her hand in his like it was nothing.
Y/n’s head spun as she followed him up the steps, staring at their interlaced fingers in front of her and feeling high already. He pulled her inside, a dumb smile on her face as they came face to face with a man around the same age as Y/n’s father.
“Y/n, this is my Uncle Wayne, Uncle Wayne, this is my friend Y/n.” He said with pink cheeks. Wayne’s eyes flickered down to their joined hands, the corner of his mouth twitching upward as he met Eddie’s eye again.
Wayne now looked at Y/n, a small smile now forming as he reached out for a handshake. “It’s good to meet you, Miss Y/n, I’ve been wondering when he’d bring you ‘round.”
Y/n smiled warmly and accepted his handshake, “It’s good to meet you too! Eddie’s spoken so highly of you.” She nodded. Eddie bit back a smile as he averted his eyes in slight embarrassment.
“Oh, well has he now? That’s good to hear. Maybe I’m doing something right.” He nudged his boy before reaching past him and grabbing his keys on the counter. “I’ve gotta head out to work, Ed, don’t keep her out too late. It was good to meet you, darlin’.” He nodded to Y/n before he left.
Eddie beamed as he took her other hand in his, her stomach practically exploding at the contact.
‘Holy shit he’s touching me. He introduced me to his uncle. He talks about me to his uncle. Holy fuck Eddie munson really likes me.’ Her throat tightened at the thought.
“I knew he’d like you.” He glanced at her lips before releasing one hand and leading her to his room. “It’s not as cozy as your place but, this is my lair.” He shrugged, releasing her hand and purposely plopping down on his desk chair to leave the bed free for her.
She looked all around her and took it in, the one room in the world that held the most things that were ‘Eddie’
She smiled at the posters adorning the walls, the ones taken from the city, some purchased in store, others handmade. She smiled at his striped sheets and ingenuity of stuffing two flat pillows into one pillow case to make it more comfortable.
She stifled her giggles at the posters of motorcycle and car babes scattered about and wondered if he kept his stash in the closet or under the bed. Eddie felt embarrassment churn in his stomach, his cheeks were surely pink. He quickly glanced around his desk for the two joints he rolled earlier.
“Aha!” He held up the two perfect joints in victory, grabbing her attention. Eddie stuck one between his teeth and flicked his lighter to life. “Make yourself comfortable, by all means, I can’t take you outside tonight—it’s too cold for that, sweetheart.”
Her heart leapt as she sat down on his bed, the aged spring creaking beneath her. Eddie flipped on his stereo and turned the volume lower before he used his feet to roll his chair over closer to Y/n until he was directly in front of her, both of them with their elbows on their knees and faces too close to be considered friendly.
“Whatcha thinkin’ about, huh? Or at least one of the things, I’ll bet you have a busy brain, don’t you?” He asked as he pushed a lock of hair behind her ear, her cheeks fading into pink as he grazed her skin. He set a joint between her lips, her brain going fuzzy as he leaned back and flicked the lighter, bringing it to the end of the joint for her to inhale.
She let out a shaky exhale and shook her head before taking two or three more quick and deep puffs on the joint, not afraid to be a little greedy with the bud anymore. Eddie swallowed, watching her pretty lips kiss the tip of the joint like he wished she’d kiss his dick.
She inhaled the smoke through her nose and held it in for a second as she handed it back to him. He kept his eyes on her, the thin ghost of her hit fleeing from her mouth as she shrugged.
“I like hanging out with you.” She said as the warmth rolled over her, the weight of her eyelids now at the forefront of her mind.
Eddie spoke through his exhale, “What are you really thinking about?” He smirked
Y/n wanted to throw him off like he did her, and wondered why he was so calm this evening. She quirked an eyebrow, “How have you been so calm without smoking today? Typically your temperament reminds me of a Labrador—ooh! A labradoodle. You are such a labradoodle.” She giggled.
A wide smile stretched across his face as she fell backwards onto his bed, kicking off her shoes and scooting to the middle. Eddie scooted closer to her as she curled up, the sight of her on his bed alone was making him feel some type of way.
“If I’m being completely honest, I may have taken a Xanax before Hellfire. But only to calm the fuck down, you know? I was so nerv—I was really worried you—and Robin— wouldn’t like the campaign, and I was kinda hoping I could bring you back here tonight, so I’m kinda— are you upset with me?” He looked back up at her eyes in slight worry before she would smile softly and shake her head no, putting his mind back at ease like putting a child back to bed.
He leaned over and stuck the joint between her lips, his fingers touching her mouth and chin with reckless abandon. She turned her head as she inhaled, her eyes going wide at the acoustic guitar in the corner. “Look at that!” She squinted to read the sentence painted around the curves of the body under her breath.
‘This machine slays dragons’
“That’s sick, that’s uh, uh, uhh—Woody Guthrie! Right? This machine kills fascists?” She propped herself up as she turned to face him again, the boy fighting the urge to say ‘fuck it’ and grab her and kiss her right then and there.
He settled for a tense “Mhm.” Instead.
The two went on, passing the joint back and forth, discussing more about how he got into music in the first place, how Wayne taught him the guitar, and how he started getting into metal.
He talked about the formation of Corroded Coffin that happened during a shared detention between the quartet when Jeff had first moved to town.
Eddie craved for the conversation to turn back to Y/n, though he absolutely loved the way she looked at him when he babbled about the usually meaningless stories of his life and drank them all in because they were his.
“How’d you get into metal?” He asked as he took the second joint from her. His eyes oozed adoration, the lamp light only adding to the ever present sparkle in his eyes. Y/n shrugged and giggled a little, trying to gather her explanation.
“It was an accident.”
“Oh, no I really gotta hear this.” He scooted closer, propping his feet up on the bed next to her stretched out body. He tried his best to keep his eyes on her face or hands or knees and ignore the way her breasts looked pressed together when she laid on her side.
“My grandma had no idea Judas Priest wasn’t a Christian group.” She began with a flushed face from all their laughter. Eddie’s jaw dropped before he let out a hearty cackle.
“You’re shitting me, right?”
“I’m so not shitting you, I was like 9, or something— I had just gotten my very own Walkman, I know that for sure, and my grandma asked Sam what to get me and he told her I could use some tapes to play and that I like rock music. So she went down to the store and asked for some ‘rock n roll the young people like’ and the dude sold her ‘Stained Class’!” She laughed.
“Oh my god, did she ever find out??”
“No, no, but she did get really confused when she heard about the Priest concert in Indie a few years ago, and she wanted to go but we wouldn’t let her.”
Eddie scoffed, “Damn that would’ve been a sight.”
“They would’ve broken her!”
“Have you ever actually been in the pit before?” He asked with an eyebrow quirked.
“Not at, like, a real huge concert or anything but little hole in the wall performances, I’ve been in a few.” She chuckled as she reached for the joint.
“Oh, just get ready, sweetheart, someday you and I are going to a concert and going hard. I mean stiff necks for two weeks!”
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Somehow or another, they both ended up on Eddie’s bed, shoulder to shoulder, dazed and looking at the ceiling through the veil of smoke that now shrouded the stuffy room. Eddie had put in a mixtape of his, Alone Again by Dokken played. They were belligerently high, both of them hanging onto the hem of reality by a thread.
“Maybe we should crack a window.” Y/n suggested.
Eddie made no move, staying put to look at her the way he had been all night. “No, no—you look so beautiful when you’re all smokey like that. And on my bed. And everywhere else you decide to go.” Eddie mumbled in thought.
“What?” She asked slowly, her glassy eyes meeting him without difficulty. Eddie sat up with her, unable to form words.
“I said you’re beautiful.” He shrugged daringly.
She gasped softly. Despite the love and validation she received from her family and friends, she’d never really been told she was beautiful. Not like this.
It’d been said in passing before— ‘you look pretty’ ‘that looks nice on you’ ‘you look so hot’ but never ‘you are beautiful’
Her eyes filled with tears as she leaned over and pecked him quickly on the lips.
As soon as her lips bounced off his their eyes met in alarm; Had that really just happened? Had she actually done that?
Eddie’s lips parted, his eyes wide with surprise and then melting into relief before he placed his hand at the nape of her neck and pulled her to him, properly kissing the girl of his dreams with a moan vibrating through them.
Y/n whimpered against him, his kiss warm and consuming. She felt like her face and neck were on fire, her overly sensitive body a live wire with just one heated kiss. She didn’t hesitate to bring her hands to his cheeks as he rolled on top of her, the bed beginning to creak with their writhing. “You are the prettiest girl I’ve ever seen..” Eddie spoke against her lips, refusing to move. “And I mean it.” He panted into her open mouth as they parted, her eyes looking at him desperately as a tear fell, not going unnoticed by Eddie but not before she could bring him in for another mind-numbing kiss.
“Mmm—Y/n, are you crying?” He asked dazed and concerned, pulling away only enough to graze her nose with his. Y/n kept her eyes closed in embarrassment.
‘seriously? A guy calls you beautiful when you kiss him and you have the nerve to cry like a baby?’
“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have—.” She said with a dismissive shake of her head, her hands leaving his neck to wipe her face.
“No, don’t—How high are you?” He asked quietly.
Y/n took a minute to register the question. The world felt like slow motion when she shook her head no. The stuttering sweep of her eyes told Eddie differently, his heart sinking. “Hi, how are you?” She asked with an unsure chuckle.
As she tilted her chin up to meet his lips for another kiss, he quickly suggested “Let’s, uh, wanna watch a movie?” She froze, her heart merely skipping a beat at the utter catastrophe she felt inside.
She dumbly nodded without a word, ignoring the wetness at her eyes as Eddie rolled off of her and hurried out of the room. Y/n sat up, struck with confusion. Her body was rigid as her tears fell profusely. She quickly wiped them away.
She wobbled to the bathroom around the corner, her head feeling light and fuzzy as her throat clenched, minus the hyperventilations—though she knew they were coming. She shut the door a little harder than she meant to, startling Eddie who sat in front of the tv, looking through tapes.
His eyes stayed on the door as he stood, but he couldn’t make his feet move. Instead he sighed and sat back down to wait for her.
Y/n couldn’t help the frown pulling down at the corners of her lips as she leaned over the small sink. The mirror having lost some of its shine from age, the picture unclear as she looked at herself. Crying wasn’t something she felt comfortable doing in front of people, the act being something she was constantly berated for as a child.
‘Wipe that pathetic look off your face.’
‘Oh my fucking god, you’re being such a bawl baby.’
‘Just don’t fucking look at her, she’s doing it for attention!’
‘Quit being such a little whinebag, Y/n!’
Her voice loved to return at Y/n’s most vulnerable moments, reminding her that even when she’s hit the apex of her emotional well-being, she shouldn’t even allow herself that release.
So Y/n hid in the bathroom, and looked at herself; the only person to see her pain for what it was in its rawest form.
She tried to start listing logical and rational reasons it all stopped:
‘He’s high, you’re high, he didn’t mean it.’
‘Was I not a good kisser?’
‘Maybe he just wanted you to come over so he could move in on you, it’s been his plan the whole time.’
‘Maybe I’m misreading everything’
‘Maybe he changed his mind about me’
But of course she came back.
‘Or maybe, he got freaked out because the girl that kissed him started crying like a fucking weirdo.’
She sat on the floor quickly and clenched her eyes closed, the hyperventilations starting.
‘Deep breaths, c’mon’
Y/n tried to coach herself like Sam taught her; ‘talk to yourself like a friend’.
‘Slow deep breaths, you got this, just like with Sam.’
She struggled a few times but was quickly able to count to four with her inhales and hold it for four, exhaling for four until her head wasn’t flying 90 miles an hour.
She ran ice cold water on her wrists and washed off her face, thanking herself for not wearing makeup today.
Taking one last deep breath she exited the bathroom about 10 minutes later like her inner world wasn’t viscerally shattering.
“Hey!” Eddie breathed in relief. Y/n looked at the coffee table and the videos scattered across it. “I didn’t know which one you’d like more so I just figured I’d let you pick.” He shrugged, unable to meet her eye.
Y/n nodded and grabbed Class. “I know how much you like Rob Lowe.” She remarked as she shoved it into his chest a tad harshly. Eddie was taken aback at the force she put behind it, but chuckled and pushed the tape into the player.
He took his spot next to her, resting his arm on the back of the couch. There was a weird space between them, both of the worried lovers unable to act accordingly.
“For the record, I only like Rob Lowe in this movie.” He remarked after a good solid silence during the opening credits. She cracked a smile and snickered, the weed still lingering and allowing her to loosen up and ignore the gnawing empty ache in her chest.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
By the time the movie ended, they’d inched closer and closer, their shoulders almost touching, his knee leaning against hers as he spread his legs. They hadn’t spoken much during the film, but there truly didn’t feel like there was much to say. The clock on the wall read 11:43, and the trailer was deafeningly silent without the tv on to distract them from the tension.
Y/n felt the air buzzing around them, the heat rising in her stomach again when she saw him outlined in the shadows, just looking at her for a moment like he always did. “Well, you ready to get home?” His voice cut through the silence gently, but enough to startle her a little.
She nodded and stood, walking past him to the door without another look at him. He fought the urge to reach out and grab her, to tell her he was sorry for making things weird, that she hadn’t done anything wrong, that he was overthinking and being stupid and didn’t want to take advantage of her.
He wanted to kiss her again, so desperately he ached.
Instead he followed her outside, frowning when he hadn’t beaten her to her door. They drove the mile in silence, Y/n playing hide and seek with the moon through the clouds and trees. The cold glass against her forehead kept her grounded, told her that once she got home she could dissociate and fade away however long she needed until school in the morning.
Eddie pulled up to his spot at the curb, clearing his throat as he put it in park. “You want me to walk you?” He asked, his puppy dog eyes shining. Y/n thought for a moment before shaking her head gently.
“No, it’s okay. Thanks for the weed.” She said with enough softness in her voice to keep him from worrying more.
He nodded as she turned to open the door. He caught her hand before she could leave, her eyes finding his immediately. “I’ll see you tomorrow?” He asked hopefully.
Y/n gave a half-smile and nodded, giving his hand a squeeze before she opened the door with a creak. “Goodnight, Eddie.” She said before closing the door and throwing her bag over her shoulder.
Eddie watched her the whole way, urging her to turn around, at least look at him. He could still feel the weight of her lips on his and the places her hand had touched his face. He was buzzing through the entire movie, keeping a pillow over his crotch the entire time to avoid even more awkwardness.
Once she was safely inside, he beat the steering wheel with his fists, cries of anger flying from his mouth. He felt hot tears prickle his eyes and clenched his jaw at the ache in his chest.
‘You fucked up. Just like you knew you would’
‘Not only did you blow it with your crush you probably just lost a good friend.’
‘Way to freak her out, freak.’
Eddie berated himself the whole way home. He quickly crawled into bed face first to scream into his pillow and then covered up with the sheets he should be tangled up in with the girl of his dreams.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
When Eddie picked Y/n up in the morning things felt off. She wore a gray beanie over her hair that hung loose around her, her thick scarf wrapped around her neck twice as she buried her cute little nose into it.
She unwrapped herself when she got into the car, her demeanor as icy as the overnight frost. “Good morning.” He croaked before clearing his throat.
She smiled softly as she buckled her seat belt, “Morning.”
Eddie pulled off of the curb and bit the inside of his cheek, hoping she’d mess with the radio or something. “You, uh, sleep okay?” He asked.
Y/n nodded, “Mhm, I actually kinda think I’m still a little high, if I’m being honest.” She chuckled, looking out the window. Eddie's eyes widened.
“F-For real?”
Y/n chuckled again and nodded. “Yeah, getting ready was hard this morning. Head feels all swimmy.”
“We could knock off for the day? I could take you back to your house so you can rest.” He offered with concern.
Y/n shook her head. “It’s okay, it’ll wear off. It’s happened a couple times when I smoke real late. Especially if it’s dank like that stuff you had last night. That shit was outta this world, man.” She rambled, knowing full well she smoked a joint when she got home and then a little more in her shower this morning.
Eddie chuckled, glad she was talking to him like normal, at least. It gave him a shred of hope things wouldn’t be ruined. He could work with that.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Chrissy was buzzing to find out what happened the evening after Hellfire. After hearing about the note, she was sure Eddie was close to making a move or admiting his feelings for her new dear friend. When Y/n got to class looking less like herself, Chrissy knew something was up.
When Y/n regaled the events of the evening Chrissy waited with baited breath, every step of the story adding up to the perfect most world rocking ending. Her eyes shined with intrigue when Y/n described laying on his bed together, the intimate touches happening all night before he called her beautiful so bravely. How she finally went for it and kissed him, Chrissy cutting her off before she could finish.
Chrissy squealed with delight,Y/n cracking a small smile at the praise. “I knew you had it in you, oh my god! Look at my girl! Then what happened?” She whispered urgently.
Y/n scoffed and shook her head. “Well, uh, this is embarrassing… when he told me I was beautiful.. I cried a little. But he kissed me again and—I dunno, they wouldn’t stop coming out I guess and he just.. stopped.” She bit the inside of her cheek dejectedly, her ego feeling the bruise. Chrissy’s jaw dropped.
“Are you fucking kidding me?” She exclaimed, capturing the attention of most of the class and the teacher.
“Miss Cunningham! I will remind you to mind your language, this is class not gossip hour.” He chided.
Chrissy mumbled sweet apologies before turning back to her friend with fire in her blue eyes. “Stopped and what—What happened?”
“He asked if I wanted to watch a movie.” She shrugged, “—I literally had a panic attack in his bathroom right after. I just—I was so embarrassed and felt like I did something wrong.” She shook her head an
If girls could breathe fire, Chrissy would be doing it right now. “You didn’t do anything wrong! D-Did he check on you? Or apologize when you came out? Or acknowledge it?” She asked, grasping for straws, hoping she wasn’t wrong about Eddie Munson not being a complete dumbass.
Y/n shook her head as she opened her textbook. “Nope.”
Chrissy scoffed. “Well, you just wait. You owe me a party date and I’m cashing in. I’m dressing you up and you’re coming on Friday. Invite whoever you want, just please come. But I’m gonna make sure Eddie’s there—and Gareth. I’m gonna need his help…” She planned with a distance in her eye.
Y/n sent her a questioning look and couldn’t help but chuckle dryly when she heard her mumbling to herself, “The asshole’s gonna get real comfortable with tears by the time I’m through with him..”
Y/n could practically see the gears turning in her head as she tapped her chin with her pen. “Do you have hot girl clothes?” She asked genuinely, the question spurring a chortle from Y/n that she almost choked on.
Y/n dropped her jaw in mock offense, her shoulders shaking with silent giggles, Chrissy’s face softening and laughing with her. “You know what I mean, you’re always hot, but I can’t say I haven’t wondered if you share a closet with your dad and brother.” She said knowingly and nudged Y/n’s elbow with hers.
Y/n snorted, “Yes, I have hot girl clothes, but I’m not a skirt or dress wearer, is that a deal breaker?” She chuckled as she reached into her bag for her notebook, mirroring the movements of the students around them. Chrissy glanced around observently and followed along.
“Absolutely not, but I need to see more skin from you, capice? I’m gonna have to approve of it before. Oh! And make sure you come ready to… play some party games.” Chrissy flashed a shining smile at her friend and scanned her face in thought.
Y/n scrunched her brows at Chrissy. “Do you wanna come over tonight?”
Chrissy’s eyes grew wide in excitement. “Do I?! That’d be fantastic! I can have Jason drop me off after cheer!” She offered as she jotted down the heading of her paper. Y/n raised her brow at the mention of Chrissy’s boyfriend, who was hanging onto his relationship by a thread because of his delusions and constant fuckery.
Chrissy shook her head dismissively. “Oh, no, don’t worry—that’s not going on for much longer. But in the meantime I’m soaking up all the ass kissing, I deserve it for my troubles.” She shrugged before looking back down at her notebook.
Y/n looked at her in shock, her mouth still hanging open in an impressed smile. Chrissy glanced back up and giggled, “I’m finding I’m really good at planning revenge. It’s fun!” She chirped before making a list of supplies on the opposite page of her class notes.
Y/n smiled with quiet eagerness, all her emotions cushioned with the softness of the herb that still clouded her head. “Who do you think you’re gonna invite?” Chrissy asked.
Y/n didn’t have to think, “if I can get Sam to come down—I’ll have him come, and Robin and Steve of course. You mind if I ask Robin to hang out today too? I’m sure she’d love to be dressed up with us.” Y/n dropped to a whisper as the door shut and class officially began.
Chrissy nodded with wide eyes as Mr. Barker began his lecture.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Eddie felt like he spent the whole day searching for Y/n, but alas, she was doing a good job at making herself scarce. He couldn’t help but think about their night over and over again, no matter how hard he tried to tune into the lectures. Everything came floating back to Y/n.
‘Does she even remember?’ He wondered.
‘Is she angry?’
‘Does she just want to forget it even happened?’
‘Did I make her cry?’
Gareth, Jeff, and Grant noticed the shift in Eddie’s behavior. He wasn’t mellow like he was when he popped the occasional pill or giggly when he came to school stoned. Eddie's face was hard. He bit the inside of his cheek in thought as the guys chatted about adjustments they’d made to some characters they were working on and what they got up to after Hellfire.
Gareth was the first to say something, the others looking between the two apprehensively. “Dude, what’s up with you today?” He asked quietly, everyone leaning in whether they knew it or not.
Eddie scoffed and brushed it off with a shrug, “What do you mean, man? Just tired.”
“Oh, was it a.. late night?” Gareth raised a suggestive eyebrow with a hopeful smile. Grant and Jeff’s faces lit up at the thought of Eddie leaving with Y/n with his arm slung over her shoulder, and later spying them leaned up on the side of the van together holding hands.
Eddie blushed when their kiss came to mind, the boys around him taking this as a confession and patting him on the back and ruffling the top of his curls. “Dude! What happened?”
“What’d you get up to?”
“We’ve been dying to know”
Eddie stuttered at the rapid fire questions, his grimace their indicator the night didn’t end well. “Oh no. What happened?” Gareth asked quietly as the boys ceased their congratulations.
Eddie sighed deeply. “Nothing, okay? Nothing happened.
The boys’ looked amongst each other unconvinced. “A-Are you sure? I mean you don’t have to kiss and tell, but I mean, you could at least confirm or deny.” Gareth shrugged.
Eddie shook his head sadly, “Nothing, man. We smoked, we watched a movie, I took her home.”
“Do you not want to kiss her? Cause it sure seems like she wants to kiss you.” Gareth shrugged.
Eddie took a breath to answer but then noticed Chrissy Cunningham walking straight towards him and his friends. “It doesn’t matter, man, just drop it.”
“But I s—“
“Isaiddropit!” He hissed as Chrissy stopped just behind Jeff and Grant.
“Uh, Eddie?” The boys jumped and clamored backwards against the lockers. “Could I talk to you?” She asked apprehensively.
Eddie nodded, having a feeling he was in trouble. “H-Yeah sure, what's up?” He asked, the back of his neck prickling with nervousness.
“Alone?” She nodded her head to the free space against the wall a few feet down. Eddie glanced at his friends and then nodded as he walked hurriedly.
He took a deep breath as the small blonde stopped in front of him. “S-So what’s—“
“I’m throwing a party this Friday at Jason’s, and I was hoping you’d wanna bring some stuff to sell there… and Gareth, too.” She said simply. Eddie looked surprised but nodded.
“Oh, okay. Yeah! I’m sure we can do that. But, uh, Carver?”
“Don’t worry about him. He’s agreed to play nice cause it’s my party, not his. Besides, he knows he’s on thin ice.” She scoffed. Eddie’s eyes widened, unsure of what to say in response to her revelation. “But you didn’t hear anything from me.” She shot back with a pointed finger at him.
Eddie raised his hands in surrender and zipped his lip. “I heard nothing.”
She nodded, a pleased smirk on her lips though she wasn’t particularly jazzed with his stupidity. Chrissy debated on saying something to Eddie on the subject, to ask him what his experience was last night but she knew that was a foul move to play in this kinda game. “So you’ll be there? At the party?” She asked.
Eddie sighed and looked at his shoes to think for a second. “Y/n will be there.” She offered. His eyes snapped back up to hers, noticing her knowing smile on her lips. His cheeks burned pink.
“Okay, yeah, I’ll be there, Chrissy.” He said, repressing a smile and rolling his eyes as he stepped back to rejoin his friends. She smiled, another phase of her plan crossed off the list. She couldn’t help but glance over to his awaiting group of friends, more importantly at the shaggy haired drummer that gazed at her longingly.
He jumped when he noticed her eyes on his, looking away rather indiscreetly. Chrissy giggled and kept her eyes on him as he nervously glanced back and forth between his friends and the pretty girl smiling at him.
Gareth’s cheeks flushed this time, trying to pay attention to Jeff asking Eddie the details of his conversation, when he heard a fast and high whistle come from Chrissy’s puckered lips. His head snapped to her again, finding her giggling in satisfaction before she winked at him on her way past, his eyes following her the whole way.
“I think it’s a freakin’ trap, Ed, how many times have you even spoken to Chrissy? You think her word is enough? Gareth, do you hear this? Gareth!” Grant elbowed the boy in his flannel clad side.
“Ouch! What?” He hissed, tearing his eyes off the cutest pink tennis skirt he’d ever seen.
“You think Eddie can trust Chrissy?” Jeff asked.
Eddie’s eyes only read annoyance as the bell rang. Everyone grabbed their bags and scattered in different directions. “For the record, yeah, I do.” Gareth mumbled only where Eddie could hear him as they walked shoulder to shoulder to their next class, Eddie cracking a smile in response.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
When lunch rolled around, Y/n opted to hang out in the art room, hunger not hitting her in a way food could satisfy. The art teacher left her the room to work in peace, leaving the door barely propped open as she went to lunch.
Y/n plopped down in the corner she preferred and dug out her sketchbook. She ran her finger over the edge of the rough parchment pages and flipped through the work she’d done thus far.
It started with hands—pages and pages of hands in various positions, then eventually noses and eyes covered the fronts and backs of the next 5 pages or so, flowers and botanical drawings coming in the next section. Y/n hadn’t truly thought of her work as art, just something to tune into when she needed the escape. To put her focus elsewhere.
She had a couple of sketches of Sam, some full length, some just his face scrunched theatrically for her to practice the ridges and shapes of the face when it expressed emotion. Another sketch was her father, his hand propped on his face and his round glasses set on his nose as he looked over the paper.
She drew a couple sketches on a page of her friends while they were drunk and high at a party, the lines a little sloppy and their features a bit big, though everyone loved them. She wondered why they hadn’t called. If they only thought of her as a good time.
She flipped through the few doodles she dotted the pages with during the couple weeks she sat at the house in solitude, no Sam, her dad away at work and only her tapes to keep her company. Most of them were minimal little things like lighters, stars, planets, pot leaves, clouds, and of course the moon and all its craterous glory.
Finally she hit the latest section, things that remind her of Eddie. She’d tiptoed around drawing him specifically to deny her obsession with him, especially on the off chance that he saw the book. But she’d managed to keep it all away from him so far without him noticing.
She drew some of his tattoos, some skulls, some with flames and some with flowers in their eyes, she doodled a couple joints and cigarettes, hands rolling up papers filled with hearts and stars, and of course she drew his guitars.
Today she decided to properly sketch him with his devilish smile, his curls extra bouncy and his bangs falling just right over his forehead. She fell frustrated when she couldn’t capture the right roundness of his eyes when the door creaked.
Y/n looked back with a jump, her brows drawing together when she saw Gareth easing in. “Hey, could I talk to you for a minute?”
Y/n nodded, closing her sketchbook before he could get too close. He sat in the seat next to hers, where Robin typically did. He sighed and glanced around the room, the pages adorning the walls and the plants Y/n sat next to. “S’nice place you got here.” He joked, resting his hands over his backpack that sat in his lap.
Y/n only cracked a smile.
Gareth cleared his throat and readjusted his seat, “Right, so, uh, I just wanted to ask if you knew what’s going on with Eddie.” He shrugged. Y/n met his eye for the first time and looked even more confused than she did when he came in.
“He didn’t say anything at all to you?” She asked, her arms crossed against her front. Her chest aches at the question, now more aware of her heart thudding away in her chest. Gareth only shook his head.
“No, but he seems really upset. I just didn’t know if something happened yesterday or if he said something to you—“
“I mean, something happened..” she muttered, bringing her knee up to her chest and picking at her shoe lace.
“Oh! Well, c-could you tell me?” He asked hopefully.
Y/n bit the inside of her lip and looked at the time, only 7 minutes left in the lunch period. She shrugged and sighed. “I kissed him, and he kissed me back and uh, then he stopped cause.. I got emotional... Asked if I wanted to watch a movie, so that’s what we did.” She shrugged again, her foot on the floor beginning to bounce as she confided in a boy she didn’t know.
His presence felt like Eddie’s, in the way that it was known there was a lack of judgement— it was safe.
Y/n didn’t mean to hiccup, but when she did she noticed the hot tears prickle at her eyes when she thought of the event being so embarrassing to Eddie he wouldn’t tell anyone, not even his very best friend. She pressed a hand to her mouth quickly to muffle her sob.
“Hey, hey, hey!” Gareth cooed, placing a friendly hand on her arm. “Maybe this is a whole misunderstanding, yeah? Listen, I’m not supposed to divulge any kind of information we share over a blunt, but I know the guys got it bad for you.” He mumbled.
Y/n hung on his every word. Hope brewed in her chest again though her pessimism raged on inside.
‘If he had it bad for me then he doesn’t anymore.’
“Eddie can’t share shit easily, so maybe give him a few days and he’ll be ready to talk. Especially if it’s you. Maybe by the party things will be okay again.” He offered.
Eddie walked to the bathroom, taking the route by the art room when he passed by the window Y/n typically sat by. His heart leapt when he noticed her occupying her seat, but then almost choked when he saw Gareth sitting next to her, with his hand on her.
Eddie couldn’t believe the sight, his chest hit with a pang that ran so deep it stung. Gareth had been his most loyal confidant from the first day they were friends. He couldn’t bear to look longer than a second, darting past the door and into the bathroom.
‘Why was he so close?’
‘Why was he looking at her like that?’
‘Why was he touching her?’
What he would give to see her face in that moment, to hear what they had to say. Eddie sat in the stall for the next half hour pressing his fists into his eyes in effort to stop the tears that wouldn’t fail to come.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
The next period, Gareth entered the classroom in a tizzy after failing to find Eddie. He’d been searching since leaving the art room, promising Y/n he’d be sure to let her know if he hears anything from Eddie.
He was relieved when he saw his friend was already at their table, scribbling away in his notebook he used for DM’ing. Gareth sat down with a sigh. “Dude, I was looking everywhere for you.”
Eddie scoffed bitterly without looking up at him. “Yeah, sure looked like it.”
Gareth kept his best face as he settled in his space, his brows flinching before he responded, “What?”
“I was looking for you too.” He lied. “Saw you were busy in the art room.” Is all he said.
Gareth froze, “Oh. Well, I saw Y/n and asked if she’d seen you.” He shrugged. Eddie wanted to press further but chose not to, opting to nod his head.
Gareth sighed and leaned over to Eddie. “Man, she’s really upset.. I dunno what’s up with you. But maybe you should—“
“Don’t worry about what I should do, Gareth— just leave it alone.” Eddie urged, anger covering his embarrassment well. Gareth flinched away and nodded with red cheeks.
“Oh. I’m-I’m sorry, man. I just thought you liked her—“
“I do, so keep your hands to yourself.” He hissed.
Gareth looked shocked at this. “Maybe I would if she didn’t need comfort. She’s upset, Eddie, like I said.” He huffed, opening his textbook with more intensity than necessary.
Eddie sat dumbfounded. Was she crying? Had she been upset because of last night or because things were weird today? Or maybe something happened at home?
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Eddie stood by his van, waiting for Y/n after school. He skipped his last class, opting to hotbox the van before he had to face Y/n again. She came out at the back of the herd pushing through the doors, arm in arm with Chrissy. They paused, Chrissy resting her hands on Y/n’s shoulders and giving her some sort of a run down, looking very assuring.
Yeah, there’s no way they hadn’t spoken about it.
Eddie sighed, looking down at his shoes in embarrassment until he heard footsteps approaching. Her scarf wasn’t wrapped around her neck like it was this morning, but she had just slipped her hat back on down over her ears. Her hands were stuffed in the pockets of her coat, her nose and cheeks a burning red from the cold wind nipping at her.
Eddie cracked a smile as she stopped a couple feet in front of him. She offered a kind smile in return, the boy unable to stop charming her for 5 seconds. “You, uh, need a ride?” He asked feebly, like using a stick to measure the depth of murky waters.
She chuckled dryly and nodded, “Sure, why not.”
His heart sank. Nodding, he walked around the front of the van with her trailing behind him, opening and closing the door for her in silence. Eddie didn’t run back around the front of the van like he normally did, something Y/n took notice of, a similar pang to Eddie’s thudded in her chest.
He climbed into the van with a sigh and shut the door firmly behind him. He looked at her with a tight smile, words he wanted to say tangled at the dam of his lips.
Silently, he pulled the van out of the parking lot, his lips twitching when he glanced at Y/n, turned away from him to gaze out the window. He took a quiet and slow breath, refraining from sighing for the thousandth time today.
Y/n reached into her pocket and pulled out the joint she had been saving. She finally willed herself to look over at him, holding it between them like an olive branch. Eddie glanced between her and the joint before his face melted into a real smile.
“Read my mind.” He chuckled, reaching into his pocket for his lighter while he kept his eyes on the road. He held it out to her, smiling when she took it without hesitance, her fingers brushing his.
He sat at a stop sign and watched her light it, leaning forward for discretion. The cold air only amplified the amount of smoke that came billowing out of her mouth and nose, the sight sending his jaw clenching. She reached over to hand him the lighter back, their hands brushing again, and then again when she handed over the joint.
He mumbled his thanks around the filter as he turned the van again, finally on the main road. “So, uh, I couldn’t find you at lunch.. you okay?” He asked.
“Oh, I just—finished some sketches for art. I’m hoping next semester I can apply for studio art, have more freedom, you know?” She told the half truth.
Eddie’s brows scrunched. She’d never mentioned much about art. She didn’t have any of it hung up anywhere, but she did have a lot of notebooks and pencils. Is that what she was worried about at lunch? Is that what Gareth was talking to her about? Consoling her worries instead of him?
“Oh. Yeah.” He said dejectedly. “I didn’t know you draw.”
Y/n’s throat tensed. “Here and there. Just something I like to do to keep my mind off things.” She brushed it off. She wasn’t a fan of explaining her love for art, everyone always bringing up art careers coming few and far between when she has no interest in monetizing her hobby. Plus it always came with someone asking to see her work, which she wasn’t keen on doing, almost ever.
Eddie nodded in understanding though his mind was running wild. He knew studio art was for the cream of the crop art students, most of the AP projects that decorated the room came from that class. He knew it wasn’t an easy feat to make, so he couldn’t help but wonder what was inside her notebook she seemed to always have, whether it be in her bag or on her desk.
“Is Gareth trying for studio art too?” He grumbled as he pulled up to her house. Y/n shot him a look as he puffed on the joint heavily, quickly filling the cab up with smoke.
Y/n scoffed as he handed it back, distrust filling her eyes. “What?”
“Nothing— forget I said anything.” He mumbled, his eyes on the dash being pulled a million miles away. Y/n sighed before she took a drag.
“No! You can’t just say that, it’s not fair—what did you say?” She questioned further, her inner rage and the weed making her courageous as she turned to him and crossed her arms in front of her, her face etching into one Eddie hadn’t seen from her yet.
He sighed and leaned his head back against the seat with a thump. “I said forget it, please!” He urged.
Y/n flinched back slightly as he raised his voice. Her eyes glazed over at the flip of a switch, her emotions powering down in defense. She sighed once more and nodded, taking two more hits and handing to him.
Eddie sighed softly in relief as he brought the joint to his lips, about to apologize for his outburst when he heard her car door pop open and she hopped out, grabbing her bag stiffly and shutting the door. His eyes bulged out of his head as she hurried across her yard.
“Hey!” He hollered as he clammored out of the van, halting the girl in her steps as she blinked away the tears before turning to him.
“Wha—Can we talk?” He asked. Y/n’s jaw dropped in shock before her face morphed into amusement.
“About what?” She crossed her arms over her chest, daring him to bring it up. If he did, she’d be happy to listen. To invite him inside, or climb back in the van with him. He just had to ask.
Eddie stood, trying to calculate his next move, when he couldn’t make the words come out of his mouth. He stood stuttering for a minute before he rubbed the back of his neck and managed, “I-I’m sorry, Y/n.”
Y/n scoffed in disbelief. She thought Eddie to be braver than this. “For what?” She pressed.
Eddie looked at her like an embarrassed child, as if the next words from his mouth would be ‘Mom, do I have to?’
She waited a second longer before turning on her heel and booking it into the house. Eddie watched wordlessly, the words screaming in his head unable to find their way out of his mouth.
─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
Chrissy showed up about thirty minutes after Eddie left, taking note of her friend's puffy eyes and the smell of weed and cigarettes permeating her room. The scent almost knocked Chrissy back a bit, though she quickly settled into it, noticing when Y/n shoved a window open and turned on her fan.
“How was the ride home?” Chrissy asked gently as Y/n walked over to the closet. She shoved open the accordion doors and scoffed in response. “That bad, huh?” Chrissy asked with a bit lip.
Y/n flopped onto her bed and groaned. “He gave me a half ass apology that he couldn’t even give me an explanation for. It looked literally painful for him.” She shook her head in disbelief, wondering what else she was wrong about with him.
Chrissy sighed and leaned over on her side to be almost eye level with Y/n on the bed. “Boys are really bad at apologizing. It probably is painful for them to admit being wrong. But the fact he tried says a lot..Jason never apologizes unless I practically force him..” she shrugged.
Y/n nodded. “Y’know, Eddie agreed to come to the party because I told him you’d be there.” Chrissy mentioned. Y/n’s eyes flickered to Chrissy’s, who nodded insistently with a smile. “In all honesty, he reminds me of a scared little kid.” Chrissy whispered.
“I feel like a scared little kid.” Y/n responded just as quietly. Chrissy smiled warmly.
I know, honey. You look like one too.” She joked, Y/n finally cracking a smile before rolling her eyes and sitting up.
“Alright, here’s my hot girl clothes, jeans are in there.” Y/n said, pointing to the closet and then the chest of drawers in her room as Chrissy hopped up excitedly.
“Is Robin coming?” Chrissy asked as she pushed the hangers to one side.
“Yeah, she’s coming after work in an hour. I think she’s bringing Steve for a man’s opinion.”
“Even better!” She chirped, pulling a couple tops from the closet Y/n inherited from her old friends when they’d dress her up. They were mostly cropped tops that showed more chest and back than she normally did.
“Eddie isn’t gonna have any idea what hit ‘em.” Chrissy scoffed with malice, laying out the tops on the bed, and putting a finger to her lip. “Are skirts really out of the question? Because hear me out; fishnets? One of these tops? Some denim maybe? I have a few you could try!” She said with wide pleasing eyes. “Maybe you could wear your cutest little high tops?” She batted her eyelashes at her fashionably modest friend.
Y/n blushed and bit the inside of her cheek at the picture Chrissy was painting in her mind's eye. “Oh, c’mon, let me make you into the edgy girl I’ll never get to dress like! Let me live my dreams through you, pretty please!” Chrissy clasped her hands in a prayer with a pout, giving her friend a giggle before nodding sheepishly.
Chrissy squealed in delight before gushing about jewelry, successfully steering her friend’s head away from the impending party that would certainly be memorable.

For as long as he could remember, Felix had been a bad fairy. He'd failed all his potions classes, blown up a tree and not to mention his best friend Jisung, who'd had blue hair for a year because of him. Admittedly, the quokka had reassured him that he liked the color, but that just showed a little more how inexperienced the young fairy was.
After all, having wings, flying and talking to animals was enough for him!
Still, he tried as hard as he could to improve his skills, especially when compared to his friends who, although some of them were wizards, had a better grasp of magic than he did.
So, to celebrate the arrival of summer, they were going to meet up by the big oak later on for a picnic. Minho would bring the food, Jisung and Changbin the drinks. Hyunjin and Seungmin would provide the entertainment, Jeongin would bring the plates and cutlery, and Chan would set the scene. Felix was in charge of dessert, since he was so good at it and his friends often asked for his pastries.
So on this occasion he thought a little magic formula would help him make his cookies more perfect than they already were. Make the shape round, the texture melt-in-your-mouth and crisp. Nothing could be simpler! All he had to do was formulate his spell and apply it to his dough.
It took a few tries before he had the perfect batch. Big, golden, thick and with a smell so sweet and addicting that Felix couldn't resist tasting one. Then a second, a third and a fourth. In the end, of the twenty or so cookies he'd prepared, only four remained.
-"Oh no, what have I just done? Ah, if I just multiply them, it'll be easier," declared the fairy, casting another spell that multiplied the cookies, leaving him with around thirty of them before raising them and sending them off to the pixnic site, at least one spell he knew how to master!
"-It's hot in here... my apron is so tight on me" he added, before undoing his apron and putting it away as he flew heavily to his room to change. It was strange, he felt... weird, like he was heavy, but it must have been after eating so many cookies! The fairy had a very small appetite, so such gluttony must surely have weighed him down!
"It's definitely not that" he thought as he saw the reflection of her silhouette. My God, he was chubby! His cheeks had become as round and plump as Jisung's! How could he not notice his belly pushing against his shirt? His pants trying to survive between his protruding love handles, wide hips and thighs pushing against the fabric. How did this happen? Just this morning he'd been this slim little fairy, and now he was just a chubby fairy who certainly looked adorable, but that wasn't the point!
Suddenly he realized something crucial... he'd just sent those same cookies to the picnic site... and knowing Changbin and Jisung they were going to taste a few before everyone got there. He had to stop them!
But after changing into more comfortable clothes! They made Felix feel as if he was going to explode at any moment!
☆ ★ ✮ ★ ☆
Meanwhile, by the big oak tree, the fairies and wizards were arriving one by one. As it happened, they were all ahead of schedule, with only Jeongin and Felix missing.
-"Oh, Felix sent us something! I bet it's his brownies!" Changbin exclaimed, pointing to the basket as it moved towards them.
-"no, silly, it's cookies, he told us! Seungmin replied, nudging the fairy.
-"I haven't eaten anything for beign able to eat all day right now" added Jisung who opened the basket and took one of the cookies to taste before being stopped by Minho.
-"It's rude to eat when not everyone's here, Hannie".
- "It's just a detail, I'd rather be rude than hungry" he said before putting the cookie in his mouth, gemissakt almost to the taste that surprised everyone.
Jisung immediately grabbed another, then a third, seemingly unable to stop. So Changbin followed him, also curious and hungry. An so he also ended up with the same behaviour as the wizard. The others, out of curiosity, decided to do the same. After all, Felix's cookies were reputed to be delicious and addictive, but this much?
Oh yes, they were fucking addictive!
So much so that the six of them had devoured almost everything, leaving a few for Jeongin and Felix, but the rest had ended up in each of their stomachs.
-"Guys, that's not nice, we ate it all before them. Jeongin's going to sulk now" added Chan, amused though he was by the situation, he felt almost like a father looking after his children.
- "Don't say that, it's not like- FELIX?!" Hyunjin cut himself off when he saw a silhouette approaching from the distance, and although he didn't pay much attention at first, he soon noticed two important details:
1: it was Felix
2: he'd become very chubby since the last time he saw him
Everyone was shocked to see the blond man like that, looking as if he could barely fly as his wings struggled with the extra weight.
-"What happened to you, Lixies?" They all cried out, even though they were used to it, and given the many experiences he'd had or tested in the past.
- "Hm ... long story but guys please tell me you didn't eat any of the cookies"
- "Quite the opposite, there are only two left" added Seungmin, pointing to the now empty basket.
Felix sighed heavily as he sat down next to his friends, "Oh no, no, this can't be happening!
-"Calm down mate, is there a problem?" tried to reassure Chan by rubbing his counterpart's back, but it didn't seem to reassure him.
- "Well ... I wanted to use a little magic in my cookies to make them softer and rounder but-"
-"Guys, what's going on?!" Jisung exclaimed as he noticed his fingers rounding before pressing them against his face, which was becoming just as round.
-:Damn, man, you're getting fat!" swore Changbin in astonishment before Jisung retorted, "You too, man!" Before the brunette saw his belly push against his top until it popped out of his shirt and was exposed for all to see.
-"Wow, what the hell?" Minho exclaimed, trying to stand up and analyze the situation. Except that he, too, experienced this inflation and fell back to the ground at the same time on his newly bulging ass, raising him a bkt higher.
And so it happened with each of them. The weight differed according to the quantity of cookie eaten. The most gluttonous ones, like Changbin and Jisung, ended up really huge, to the point where even their jean and shirt buttons couldn't take it anymore. Not to mention their bellies, which leaked out of their jeans and rested heavily on their thighs.
The "lucky ones" were Hyunjin and Chan, who had eaten the least, ending up with a slight gain. Chan had lost his musculature for a thin layer of fat, while the fairy was simply curvy with thick hips and a bulging belly.
And Minho and Seungmin were just right, almost as big as Felix or even a little smaller, with Minho's thick, broad thighs and the puppy a plump torso.
They all turned to Felix in shock.
-"-Except I must not have made it clear enough in my spell that just the cookies had to be", he added shyly as they all sighed. But they knew the blond didn't mean any harm, and besides, it wasn't an unpleasant experience that all even enjoyed.
- "Hey, look, it almost looks like a face" joked Hyunjin, pointing to the quokka's belly, which, with its various superimposed rolls, could give the illusion of a face.
In the end, the picnic ended up comparing their bodies as they nibbled on the other snacks brought along and the chicken Minho had made for the occasion.
-"I could almost get used to it", Seungmin declared, rubbing his belly once he considered it plzins enough.
- "The same, it's so soft, but I don't think I can fly anymore at this stage" added Changbin, who tried, but without success, being able to lift himself a few centimetres ... a sensation both humiliating and exciting.
-"You're almost going to make me believe I did the right thing by using this spell", Felix laughed, although for once nobody contradicted him.
Perhaps this weight had awakened a hidden attraction in them. Why was it so attractive when they rubbed their bellies? Seungmin was right, they could get used to it.
Everything seemed perfect, they were having fun, singing, chatting, teasing each other, rubbing their bellies. In short, perfectly normal things!
-"Sorry guys, I had a last-minute problem to solve, but I promised I'd bring what I need and... ... Oh shit, you're all fat!" Here was the last one to panic at the call. Poor Jeongin was almost panicking at the sight, not knowing what to do or say.
But they knew what to do...
-"We'll explain everything Innie ... come and settle in , Felix made some cookies we left some for you"
