Bowser x Reader pairings I adore and would wanna write some time:

Doting Bowser and a Reader who is not used to be doted on. What do you mean you want to cuddle for literal hours? That's a thing? People can do that? And Bowser is worried that he somehow upset Reader but nope - Reader is just frozen because this is new. And when Bowser finds out Reader has never had someone swoon over them he refuses to believe it because he finds them perfect and how could he be the first person to cherish them like that?

Bowser and a Reader that can heal people. You can bet Bowser gets into fights often, especially with Mario around and other kingdoms that pose a threat to the Koopa Kingdom. But there you have the Reader, using their healing magic to patch up an irritated Bowser who just melts at their touch. Was he angry? Yes - but not anymore, not when Reader is so gentle with him.

Bowser and a Reader who disliked children before they came face to face with his kids. A full out "keep this small, irritating, screaming thing away from me" to "I will personally hurt whoever dares insult these children." They went from grimacing at having to comfort them to suggesting bedtime stories for the evening.

Oblivious Bowser and a Reader that is way too aware of how they feel towards Bowser. Doesn't help that the king himself describes their relationship like he loves them but doesn't seem to be aware of it. Yes Bowser, this is how people feel about romantic interests, not just good friends. And it just leaves Reader breathless because how on the stars above are they supposed to act around the king now?

Bowser and a Reader that was forced to be his bodyguard. Why would the Koopa King even need a bodyguard? Reader doesn't even want to be there but they have no choice. Bonus points if the Reader can actually protect him from things no one else can. Physical threats? No - but magical threats? Intangible threats? Reader is quiet a badass and the two protect one another enough times that they fall in love.

Bowser who expects everyone to treat him like he's on some pedestal and a Reader that just doesn't give a damn. So what that he's a king? He's not their king, so therefore they don't care. And that fact alone brings them closer because how dare they treat Bowser like a commoner, and why does Bowser actually enjoy it?

A last bonus that can be literally anything - Soulmates. Anything to do with soulmates. Bowser and Reader have both been looking for their soulmate and they find each other? Perfect. Bowser was hoping for Peach and finds out at the same time as Reader that that's not the case and the two now have to learn to love one another? Perfect. Reader despises Bowser with their life and it turns out he's their soulmate? Perfect.

If it's a soulmate AU I am eating that straight up. Yummy. Delicious.

what do you think about the concept of the mario brothers being raised in the darklands? would your mario still be so kindhearted when being brought up surrounded by evil?

(i can imagine mario and luigi being bowser’s second in command/ bodyguards. mario meets peach when she is captured by bowser for the first time since he is one of bowsers guards keeping an eye on her and a sort of forbidden romance is born.)

just a thought. how would this little au fit with your mario, luigi and peach?

There is definitely something to be said about the environment a character grows up in and the sheer impact it can have on them. The pressure and expectation would certainly be immense, and a great deal of emotional struggle would no doubt result from this. ><

As for how I would go about presenting said idea: one of my favorite tropes of all time is the unshakeable truth one feels amidst adversity. When a character was set to become a tool of darkness from the start, but completely defies those odds because the inherent goodness that they always had inside of them simply couldn't be silenced or ignored.

Remember Finn from 'The Force Awakens'? The stormtrooper who reeled back in horror upon seeing what his own faction was doing, and couldn't bring himself to kill innocent people on his very first mission no matter how harshly he was conditioned throughout his entire life to do exactly that? That's how I imagine my Mario would be like in this AU. A burdened soul who was never meant to do what was asked of him and stood firm in the name of his own principles.

He would help the kidnapped princess escape, because of course he would. Nothing could sway him from the burning shame and resolute sense of duty he would feel towards her. And Luigi, albeit less assured and very morally torn, would feel a similar pull too. Something telling him, over and over, that this isn't right.

The ultimate confrontation that they would later have with Bowser would be made all the more significant by their past history and the spark of genuine trust he initially had in them. 🎭💥

Part 2 of my Mario and Sonic @ the Olympics AU! Now officially calling it Intermission AU ive decided.

Part 1 is here!!! its about Mario, Luigi, Sonic and Tails and how they are brothers <3

So i guess i should talk more about the premise for this AU huh.

Its literally the part between Olympics, when everyone is like 'well that was fun... anyway what do you wanna do now?' Normally its just kinda antics and such.

Also everyone being paranoid that Eggman and Bowser ran off together after the last Olympic truce. What are they planning....? Probably nothing, but its better to be safe than sorry! Everyone immediately puts their brains together and makes an 'incredibly fool proof plan in order to completely beat them' (Mario made Sonic change "kick their asses" into something less crude, to which he then suggested "to destroy them" and Mario asked if he could think of something less violent). In the meantime, everyone gets to hang out and have fun :D

Here's some kind of misc things i thought of for this:

Rouge is hired to be Peach's bodyguard. GUN took interest in protecting her from Bowser, and Rouge immediately offered to take the role. She later told Peach its because she knew she'd be constantly swarmed with GUN soldiers if she didn't "as their best agent". Peach and Rouge getting along is underrated. They should be friends your honor.

Luigi tries to talk to Shadow, and maybe get along with them, but because of them generally being introverted it doesn't go so well. Everyone assures him that Shadow is just like that, and they'll come around eventually. (they do, and they become friends :) )

Team Sonic absolutely clowning on Wario and Waluigi. The two of them have never been bullied by teenagers, and theyre so embarrassed. Luigi asks to PLEASE be nice to them for once, and they all just kind of agree 'no its funny'

Daisy is the best hype-woman. She's hyping up Sonic and he's hyping her up in return. Shadow and Rosalina are watching at them yelling incoherently at eachother excitedly, and not understanding what they're saying.

Eggman watches as Bowser monologues about how much he totally DOESN'T like the green one and he's just as annoying as Mario and is a big WIMP too. Eggman's bisexual ass watching and understanding whats going on: mmmm.... mhm..... yeah and you hate him so much? mhm yeah.. okay..... alright........

anyway yeah expect a part 3 im probably gonna work on it rn heehoo

Bowser's longtime flame has officially tied the knot, she's shooting off fireworks to celebrate, she's leaving the country on a world tour honeymoon, she's taken out an actual literal billboard on the road between their cities to showcase the wedding photos

So Bowser's like hey, I'm not stupid, I can see you're over it, you don't have to rub it in my face, but he can't even say that because she's blocked him on everything

And he was GOING to hire a skywriter to spell it out over the wedding, but the skywriting company said there was a conflict with the fireworks company and they couldn't get clearance, and Bowser is halfway through checking his own plane to see if he can rig something up when he realizes hey, this is kinda pathetic

They are both extremely over-the-top people and it's hard not to escalate when you're both filthy rich.

So Peach and Mario are off on a year-long world tour honeymoon, and Mario privately offered to let Luigi tag along, so he's feeling pretty pathetic himself.

And Mario SAYS they'll still run the business together, but Luigi has seen Peach's schedule as...governor? President? Monarch? And it's pretty packed, and Mario already has his own dedicated bodyguard from her retinue, and Luigi is picking up a lot more clearly than his brother how things are gonna change

For the better! Mario's gonna love the parties and meeting people and playing sports with actual athletes and driving sports cars on closed professional tracks against real racers, and he can fix a sink but he's got the brains to fix a city's infrastructure too. He's gonna do great.

And Luigi...Luigi will be fine. Really! One-man plumbing business. He can do this. Except other businesses are already poaching their customers on the premise that Mario is retired and the Mario Brothers will be shutting down, and the only way Luigi can counter that is by cashing in on his brother's fame to get people's attention. Which, no thanks.

So he's just come out of the tropical storm of wedding prep and parties exhausted and ready to take a break, but he needs to scramble as the business dissolves under his feet, and their house is paid off and bills should be fine but it's such a gut punch to see how easily his life crumbles without his brother, and Luigi is TIRED. Luigi wants a BREAK. Luigi wants someone rich and fun and good-looking to swoop in and take HIM on a vacation.

"Maybe I should get a rich husband to take care of me," he mumbles into the newspaper draped over his face, covered in ads for rival businesses and Peach's honeymoon tour.

And you know...that's an idea. That's a real idea. He's already been on blind dates, there's always somebody who has a gay nephew or cousin or coworker who would LOVE a tall strong man like Luigi, they're sure~! So what if he picks out his own guy? And if they don't click, he can just shrug it off as them not being rich enough for him. That's believable, there's enough photos of him at the palace and Mushroom-Wimbledon and Mushroom-Kentucky Derby to say he's developed a taste for the good life.

In all honesty, he HAS developed a taste for the good life. Not high teas and little cucumber sandwiches, but being able to drop everything and go to an island, or play a round of golf, or picnic in the countryside, or play Indiana Jones in desert ruins while Peach is off hobnobbing with local rulers. He had fun. And it would be even more fun if he wasn't tagging along after his brother, if it was someone doing those things for HIM, because they liked him and wanted to impress him and--and spoil him, he makes himself acknowledge. He wants to be spoiled. He wants to be...a sugar baby.

Cue montage! Luigi is a good looking fella, but he's also visually Green Mario, and the idea is to NOT leech off his brother's rep. The mustache goes. The overalls have already been retired. No more baseball cap keeping his thick wavy hair out of his face, no more sturdy waterproof work boots. He regrets getting rid of the mustache, and starts growing a five-o-clock shadow. Maybe he'll grow a beard, those are trendy.

That's the picture that pops up in Bowser's inbox as he sorts through correspondence.

He's pulling back and being really honest with himself about what he actually wants. And honestly? Peach isn't it. Not anymore. It was a painful revelation, but a necessary one. She's not the same hyper-giggly cheerleader type he met in university, and he's not the party boy rugby jock he was back then either. He doesn't need a hot blonde girl on his arm to impress his teammates and stop any ugly rumors in their tracks. He doesn't need to beat anybody up for saying he's gay. And honestly, it was freaking exhausting trying to keep up with Peach's schedule when he was a young adult with just classes and games to worry about, now that's he's mumble-something years old and has his own country to run, he couldn't imagine trying to do half of the things she has packed into her schedule.

So...good for her. She got that guy who loves being social and making a bajillion new friends without being rude to them and can probably stay in the background and let her shine without it chafing, either. Good for her. He is genuinely happy for her.

He has a hard time conveying that to the cowering housekeepers as he finishes smashing the last of her portraits into bits, but he doesn't pay them to understand him, just obey him, so he tells them to sweep it up and stomps back to his office.

He needs more people like that in his life, he thinks, if he's being honest. He needs someone who won't argue him in circles or make him feel stupid debating political policy or hint that his family are tyrants. His family gets stuff DONE, okay, no need to go through six layers of wishy-washy old toads and delicately manage public image in the process. Say it and it is so, and the people will see that their needs are met and be grateful. That's the Bowser way.

Romantically, what does he need? He makes a little list.

1. Hot.

2. No arguing.

3. No criticizing or trying to change him.

4. No pink or girly.

5. Just...hot okay? A hot dude. There, he said it. A hot dude he can take on dates who won't try to fix him, who won't think there's anything WRONG with him that needs fixing, somebody who can just be hot and pretty and hang around making him look good without getting in his way or trying to take over.

Ugh. He needs a Mario, that's what he needs, somebody to quietly stand around and smile at him and feed him cake. But way hotter. Way, WAY hotter.

He quits glaring at Peach's wedding ads long enough to type out a basic list of demands and send it to a matchmaking service. (It's a sugar baby service, but he'll be damned if he calls it that.) He's not doing ANY work for this relationship. He's rich, he's powerful, he's reasonably attractive, he thinks? Got a bit of a gut since college but he's still got muscle. Whatever, he's got a castle and a fleet of cool cars and enough money to spoil the hell out of TEN thirsty twinks, whoever he picks can keep their mouth shut about his beer belly. No, he's going full Lizzo, he's not considering anyone unless they LOVE his body. He's rich enough to afford that.

He's all set to send that pic to his potential matches, but then Luigi's pic pops into his inbox, and he panics and switches. He's not trying to scare matches off, that would be self-sabotaging. And he's a fun guy, not some bum who gets drunk and passes out on a deck chair, that was ONE TIME and he was recovering from sunburn, you didn't need to snap a picture of it, guys. Whatever. Fun in the sun dad bod pic, that should be enough to reel in a boyfriend.

So. Bowser is a smart man, and the ruler of a kingdom. He does have bodyguards, and he designs most of his own security systems. The service will weed out the scammers, but he's investigating his matches himself, and Luigi is...not unknown to him. He's probably wildly unrecognizable to most people post-makeover, but Bowser was stalking Peach's wedding and has dossiers on everyone in the wedding party. He KNOWS what his ex-rival's brother looks like without a hat.

The only question is WHY. Is this a game? A joke? A sick trap? Why is he doing this?

"Why are you doing this?" is the first message he sends through the service.

And boy oh boy is that the question of the hour, Luigi thinks, staring at it. He has no idea who's he writing to, the...DADDIES are wealthy and important enough to warrant a bit of identity protection. He'll get a picture in advance of any meetings, but for now he's flying blind.

He's not gonna dump his whole life's story on a stranger, and he doesn't need to justify his decisions to anybody. He's not hurting for company, or money, so why is he doing this?

"I want to take a break and have fun with someone who can afford to take me nice places and do cool things" is what he decides on. It's true.

The rest is just them going nice places and doing cool things together. No drama, no schemes, no misunderstandings or second-guessing about why they’re there. Bowser pays for everything, and gives Luigi some spending money besides. Luigi works hard to relax and be sexy and flirty and fun. It helps that Bowser is so comfy to cuddle with, and actually taller than him, which is impressive.

He is vaguely aware that he is dating Peach's ex, he figures that out around the third date or so, but the guy is remarkably chill compared to how she described him, (and in this world Peach's security detail handled any incidents, there was no kidnapping (recently,) and the Mario brothers weren't heroes who needed to curb-stomp anyone, so Luigi has never met Bowser directly.)

Bowser is keenly aware that he is dating Peach's brother-in-law, but he works hard to relax, not obsess over anything, and just be cool and fun to hang out with. It helps that Luigi is super hot, a little goofy when he relaxes, and enjoys draping himself over Bowser while they lounge on the beach, or on a train ride through the mountains, or a tour of wine country. Lots of hot guy draped all over him while people stare enviously.

It's definitely envy, nothing to do with how Bowser just chugged half a bottle of merlot. He needed to wash the taste of that horrible rosé out of his mouth, okay? Who bottled that, a skunk? Horrible bouquet. Horrible. Luigi, buzzed and giggly and tucked up against Bowser's side staring at him adoringly, thinks Bowser is the funniest, wittiest guy in the world. They should definitely get out of there. The proprietors sell them a case of the merlot and gently suggest that the gentlemen switch to cheese tasting now, so they do.

Bowser's driver takes them on a long ride up the coast, and they have dinner at a beach chateau at sunset and listen to the cresting waves as the stars come out, and Luigi thinks this is exactly what he needed.

And Bowser just spent a long weekend out of his workshop and not buried in paperwork, and he's got some nice wine and stories to charm some diplomat who's visiting next week, and hey maybe Luigi can handle the charming and let Bowser do the diplomacy, or maybe he'll just sit at the dinner table eating fancy food and looking pretty while Bowser takes care of everything.

Man, it's good to be the king. Especially when you've got a doll like this by your side, cheering you on, waiting to see what you’ll do next. He needed this, this ego stroking and taking care of someone, showing off for them. Not running after a pink velvet track suit who's got a million clubs and committees and parties to coordinate. And wow, he hasn't thought about her in a while. A few days, at least. And he doesn't want to think of her now, under the stars, with a fuzzy face nuzzling his neck and strong hands slowly petting down his chest hair and over his belly. He's good. He’s good.

I really love Super Mario AUs, so deciding to create an AU.

The AU is based a little on the Roleswap AU, but has some character traits.

Here are just a few drafts:

-In this world, there are several kingdoms, among the main ones are Yoshies Kingdom, Mush Kingdom and Dark Kingdom.

-Yoshi is a king who rules the Yoshies Kingdom, Birdo is the princess and girlfriend of our king Yoshi.

-The Mush Kingdom is run by Princess Mario and Princess Luigi, the idea of the brothers being princesses is based on Disney princesses, along with Toadworth.

-Peach and Daisy are two Sword fighters from the Mush Kingdom, they are the brothers' bodyguards, but they have a crush on the boys.

-Rosalina is a famous poet in the Mush Kingdom, she is known for helping orphans/lumas, every Tuesday and Friday she speaks her poems and poems in Kingdom’s Square.

-Pauline is a shoemaker who works alongside her mother, her shoes are well known in the region.

-Wario, Waluigi and Wapeach work in their own bakery, the Wa Bakery, Wario is the cashier, Waluigi is the cook and Wapeach is the waiter.

-Shokora and Ashley work in their own flower shop, their flowers are very famous, Waluigi buys Piranha Plants from Shokora.

-Bowser is the ruler of the Dark Kingdom, his plan is to conquer the Mush Kingdom.

-King boo lives in the spiritual world, there is little chance of him entering the real world.

Oh 100%, both on being scared by ghosts and scared in general. You know that joke with the owl where the handler goes "Look how calm she is" only to reveal the owl looks like it's panicking internally. He's like that.

I decided to try and make a form for @kerrtesy Mario and the phantom au. After playing some Shadows of Doubt I thought of the idea of a Detective form for Shy Guy Luigi. (This was then made awkward when I saw the detective form for Peach during the Nintendo Direct.)

I thought about the setting for a noire themed scenario where this could take place and then it hit me.

Despues de jugar paper Mario me quedo en la cabeza que

cuando king boo sale por tercera vez nota algo extraño en Luigi , Mario y peach ( su aura o esencia se siente más activa y la de Luigi se siente mezclada con algo oscuro pero a la vez neutral que no hace daño al hombre de verde) y en vez de atacarlos en el hotel va a hablar con los otros reyes boo y estos le dicen que durante su tiempo atrapado con e.gardds….un vacío apareció en el cielo y comenzó a destruir los reinos y misteriosamente Luigi,Mario,peach y bowser desaparecieron durante ese tiempo y cuando el vacío desaparece ellos regresan rodeando a Mario quien lleva a Luigi inconsciente y los otros dos están formando una barreras. Todos malheridos y silenciosos

Tiempo después de la nada bowser hace una tregua con el reino champiñon . La princesa es más amable con el y Mario y bowser se lleven algo bien pero todavía estarán en la garganta del otro pero lo más extraño es que esos 3 son muy protectores de Luigi y están siempre cerca de el cómo guardaespaldas durante un tiempo antes que se relajen después de unos meses.

Curioso king boo comienza a investigar esa aventura….quiero ver la reacción de king boo por su mano de trueno y que su nemesis sea el elegido del corazón del caos ( y tal vez Luigi todavía tenga el chaos heart en su interior y pueda llegar a aprovecharlo)

So according to Google Translate, this is what I gather :

After playing paper Mario, it stuck in my head that when king boo comes out for the third time he notices something strange in Luigi, Mario and peach (his aura or essence feels more active and Luigi’s feels mixed with something dark but at the same time neutral that does not hurt the man in green) and instead of attacking them in the hotel he goes to talk to the other King boos and they tell him that during his time trapped with e.gardds….a void appeared in the sky and began to destroy the kingdoms and mysteriously Luigi, Mario, peach and bowser disappeared during that time and when the void disappears they come back surrounding Mario who carries Luigi unconscious and the other two are forming a barrier. All hurt and silent/

Time after nothing bowser makes a truce with the mushroom kingdom. The princess is nicer to him and Mario and bowser get along a bit but they will still be at each other’s throats but the strangest thing is that those 3 are very protective of Luigi and are always close to him as bodyguards for a while before he gets away. relax after a few months.

Curious king boo begins to investigate that adventure….I want to see king boo’s reaction to his hand of thunder and that his nemesis is the chosen one of the heart of chaos (and maybe Luigi still has the chaos heart inside and can get to take advantage of it) I send to booigi in this au I think bowser would be Luigi’s friend

I find this idea very interesting !!

Maybe at first King Boo would approach Luig with the intent of manipulating him; find his weakness and get a hold of the power of the Chaos Heart.

But because he’s King Boo, he’s not good at pretending to be nice, and yet at the same time...”nice” is not what Luigi is looking for, at the moment. He’s tired of being coddled, pitied, watched over; he doesn’t need being reminded of his role in the near destruction of the world, or that he might still be a ticking bomb. Even Bowser is tip-toeing around him and sometimes it makes Luigi want to scream and tear everything apart. So when King Boo starts haunting him again and cause trouble, Luigi is relieved of finally being able to go wild and break everything in sight without causing people to flinch. King Boo finds it amusing and starts following Luigi more and more, encouraging him to give into his more destructive behaviours. Playing the devil on his shoulder, whispering into his ear about what he could do if he wasn’t bound by these pesky morals.

Luigi let him do his speeches and whispers, partly because for once it gives him the choice : if he listens to King Boo, that’s on him for once, and not on some brainwashing by another person. If he doesn’t, that’s on him again. But also because sometimes King Boo is actually fun to hang around. And actually gives him explanations about auras and supernatural powers.

It’s a weird friendship sloooowly blossoming, and it worries Luigi’s friends, but they can see it helps him.
