#So I gained weight (👍) months ago and I never lost it and it's still there#And usually this is something that makes so go crazy in the worst sense possible#HOWEVER#I had so much shit to do in the last 7 months that I literally didn't have the time and the energy to relapse or to do anything drastic#I saw my body changing and becoming something I didn't like and went ''whatever. I have stuff to do. I'll fix it later''#But now it's summer and I never came around to ''fix it''#And....... It doesn't bother me that much?#You know that post that says ''I'm probably nonbinary but I have a full time job atm so I don't really think about it''#I think the same thing happened to me??#I put the weight on it disgusted me it triggered the worst out of me but I didn't act on it because I literally didn't have the time nor th#Energy to ''do something about it'' (which in my books is always weird terrible shit)#And now I look at my body and it's a bit whatever. Just watched the ballad of songbirds and snakes and omg I loved it so much it’s insane
The English nerd in me who read a disturbing amount of William Wordsworth at the age of 8 (literally have a memory box with my old copy which I destroyed with glitter pen “annotations”) absolutely LOVES Lucy gray being named Lucy gray and obviously all the references to the poems in the movie
More than that I love Lucy gray as a character too and I mean LOVE like literally that is my wife
Might be the post movie high but if you ask me rn what my favourite hunger games movie is it’s definitely this one like this one is making me want to read the books which I neglected to do for what 15 years😭😭(idk when the release was I’m just saying a random number)
God that ending hurt tho I love how they were somehow able to have the audience wish and hope for a different ending while full well knowing it’s a prequel like that takes an unimaginable level of skill to do, to have us root for snow and Lucy gray and have us genuinely be invested while knowing how it ends is just so cool

but behind closed doors, the monster of pure anger that kang sees him as emerges from the shadows, leaking from all the dark corners of their mansion, and kang shuts himself off to not have to experience the horrors looming above him in the shape of his father

I recently watched Sugar & Spice for the first time (I have reblogged it lots already I know lol) and it was so funny, very similar to Drop Dead Gorgeous if you like darker comedy high school movies!
5. What is a fashion movement, era, or item, that has made a big impact on your personal aesthetic?
90s fashion is my FAVE always and I love everything from that decade, I also love the 1960s 'Dolly' fashion, Kinderwhore, Gyaru and anything girly, but with a bit of edge to it. Anything with frills, lace, pink, mini skirts and cute prints have my heart 💓
6. What is a fashion movement, era, or item, that you're currently obsessed with?
at the moment I'm really excited for autumn so I'm looking forward to wearing turtlenecks and plaid skirts again, plus the twilightcore aesthetic is one of my faves for the season!
7. What is a book, poem, essay, etc. that made a big impact on you?
Lolita absolutely, blew my mind when I first read it and I never knew books could be written in such a way. when I was about 10-14, Jacqueline Wilson's books were everything to me and especially the ones meant for older kids such as My Sister Jodie, Love Lessons and the Girls in Love series were my favourites (also she's a queer icon so hell yeah). and Flowers in the Attic by VC Andrews introduced me to the gothic genre and I fell in love with it ever since. Recently, Sula by Toni Morrison was a book that pushed the boundaries of what I even thought could be possible in Literature and I adore her writing!

just whining
i think my biggest question i (don't) try to answer all this year is: why i started to hate something that was my dream once? why i was so passionate about my work 2 (or so) years ago? i remember i called director of the foundation i used to work with at 4 a.m. to approve revisions to the layout for the festival. i worked on absolutely awful old half-broken laptop that miraculously worked and didn't explode because i was doing 3x3 meter layouts in Illustrator. anyway. i felt myself so alive? i felt that im doing what i always wanted to do. i had to mix several freelance projects + volunteering as a designer with my graduating and i was alright ("you stay awake so you don't get expelled because of work, then you stay awake so you don't fuck up your job because of studying" <- note from that times). all this was so important to me. i remember i was so . happy every time i saw my design/illustrations printed. i remember going back home w a printed book i did layout + illustrations for in absolute shock. it was like some kind of miracle that i couldn't get used to. i was so tired n depressed during graduating (n each month it just got worse) but i felt that i belong in this world that im doin the right thing & im doin what i always wanted to do
and now im staring blankly at the opened file in adobe illustrator. simpliest task: a fucking flyer and i can't do it as easily as i used to
a few days ago realized that idk imposter syndrome is at it's peak rn. i literally worked w different companies/ppl i have 2 yrs of work experience i worked on a lot of different things yet now i can't even make a portfolio bc it's so. scary? idk for what reason. all this year i try to understand what happened & i can't find an answer. last days it scares me bc let's say lack of fulfillment in art sphere is smth that destroyed me when i was like 17-18 & it all ended up w sa n psych ward & i dont want this to ever repeat like for christ's sake. i was so brave after 19yo & now im constantly scared idk
i lost my ambitions & it scares me so much. i have no idea what i want to reach and i have no idea how to live w/o craving to reach smth. craving to do smth. what the point of life if u're not creating smth? i haven't organized anything + created anything big for long and it scares me. “growth for the sake of growth is cancer” <- my ex said this to me many yrs ago to show me how pointless what i'm doing is. yes this is truth & such way of living isn't the best but this is the only way i can live, this is who i am
"i spent this year as a ghost" YES! and it's a nightmare to me. and i despise myself bc it's ridiculous. girl why the fuck r u whining. u used to work for 12 hours w only one day off. u used to work 24/7 as a freelancer and still somehow managed this w studying + personal life. now u can find a job w better work conditions but you're afraid to do it. where ur energy did go? where is ur strength & bravery? why r u became afraid of people (esp of the ones that actually love u) when u always loved them?

hiiii i was talking ab illumination not appreciating the onceler. basically i didn't like how much potential he had but wasn't fleshed out properly so i started making shit up. it's quite elaborate!!
his childhood:
he was born on april 22nd 1992 in some small town in georgia
his parents got married young but got divorced when he was 7, mom won the custody in court and he never saw his dad since
his mother wasn't very good at being a mother because she would neglect her children (yay /s)
he learned how to play the guitar all by himself when he was 12
he was really into fall out boy as a teen
pre thneed inc. days:
he left home around february 2012
he came to greenville on march 2nd 2012
after he promised the lorax he won't cut trees anymore, he really started liking him because he reminded him of his dad (emo alert)
he had an intense, short-lived (this will be a recurring motive) relationship with norma because imo he deserves to have interpersonal relationships with people who aren't the lorax
thneed inc. days:
after he successfully sold his 1st thneed, his company was crowd-funded and started fully operating immediately
after he proved to be successful, he made friends with some rich businessmen who were all like twice his age
again, said friendships were short-lived and intense
his business was really unethical. the workers were badly paid, he polluted the forest really bad and he was actively getting sued. he'd only win the cases because he'd bribe the judge (again, illegal). he broke osha regulations on a daily basis! quirky!
while all of this was going on, he was so sure that he was doing a selfless act, by destroying the forest for his family
in reality, him destroying the forest was an incredibly selfish act, because a group of people that don't care about him mattered more to him than the well-being of the animals and the citizens of greenville who lived right next to the forest.
near the end of his business, december 2012 - january 2013, the workers of thneed inc. unionized. the onceler fired each and every one of them
norma breaks up with the onceler shortly after. good for her!
for context, onceler really (like really really, it wasn't healthy) liked norma for like 3 months and the he grew bored of her and only kept her around because he was lonely
the forest is destroyed around march 2013, and the company shuts down
post thneed inc. days:
march 2013, the onceler shuts himself away from the world and only leaves his mansion once, on april 22nd 2013, his 21st birthday, so he could buy himself loads of alcohol and get wasted
norma forgives him and stays friends with him, that's why she trusts him to talk to ted (a girl's gotta be stupid sometimes) (and no idk who mrs wiggins' father is i never thought of that)
ted wiggins meets the onceler on march 2063, 50 years after his business shut down
additional info:
the onceler's mom was born on june 23rd 1971, when the book came out
the onceler's parents' marriage was a marriage out of convenience, his mother decided to marry his father, his uncle's younger brother, because he had more money and she was hoping she wouldn't be poor anymore, and he wanted to marry her because he wanted to leave his parents' home because he didn't really like them
his parents didn't really like eachother and they were hoping that having children would save their marriage. it didn't.
his brothers are a year older than him
TLDR: the onceler was really selfish and everything he ever did was short-lived and intense. he was really insane too, but that is understandable because 20-year-olds are like that.

So I'm in a campaign rn for beginners, like complete and total 'we have no clue what any of this means this is our first time why are there numbers in this fantasy thing' newbies and we just found out that not only was my character sheet broken but also the way I was using a spell
So for context I had been told when leveling up to roll a d6, add that to my stat and for the modifier (+ whatever thingy) was -10 form the stat and ÷2 to get the modifier
eg 30- 10= 20
20÷2= 10 so id get +10 to whatever

Yeah thing is I didnt realise that it wasn't meant to be added together so while everyone else had like +15 or whatever I was sat there with + 30 all my stats (except for charisma that was +49 cause I'm a bard rn)
half way through the most recent session the dm, me consistently getting over 30 on stat checks, just assumed it was an automatic win until we got to a break and he helped me with the sheet ( I missed the ses we first levelled up in and was kinda confused by another players explanation)
We're currently on lv10 after a bbf and my hp has been capped at 42 (if you know you know) cause there's about 2 other people that find that funny and one of the is the dm - this is kinda why my stats had been broken for so long, we made a deal that anything that was meant to go into hp when leveling up could be put elsewhere, but after getting like 30 and above for basically all checks there was definitely something off.
And the spell... oh god the spell
I used this thing to basically flambé the city we were in. And the one beside it. And the one beside that... yeah apparantly rolling a nat 20 beside a ridiculously powerful magical artifact tends to do something to the potency of the spell
Anyways you wanna know what infinitely powerful spell I had been using when I was lv7 (and had been using since lv1)?
Faire fire. It was faire fire.
Now to anyone, like me, who dosent know, all faire fire does is illuminate objects/creature's in the darkness. And i had used the thing to destroy 3 cities...
The only reason we found out was cause another pc wanted to try n use that spell (cause we thought it was real fucking powerful) and, when he looked up how many dice he needed to roll, found out what it really was.
In my defence, when I was picking out my spells at lv 1 I only had the names and levels of the spells, so I read the word fire and assumed, yk that it had something to do with flames and kinda jusy ran with it. In all fairness we have 1 players hand book to share between the 7 of us and that's if the guy shows up, tbf he does typically be there.

my wisdom tooth is growing at it’s hurting like a bitch. It’s 23:50pm sun 23rd 2022. I’m watching The Bear Ep 7 Sc1 omfg this is such good television i cannot understand how there’s a show this fucking good. I just cannot. It’s now 00:00am. Monday 24th Oct 2022. I have tutorials today but it’s still a bit confusing so yeah I’m just gonna relax until I get the info to be in cause none of this shit makes sense to me. In the meantime though, I’m gonna watch this fucking amazing show and pray. Omg I said I wanted to read that Huey P Newton book before the start of today and that didn’t happen. Ah well. No worries. I love how this particular episode is being filmed. It’s a single shot. camera panning between characters in continuity. I love it. I just put some LEON fries in the oven. Gonna enjoy them before I sleep. I’ll probably read the book later on today. I do love life. I don’t know if I’m meant to make sense of it but just live it and love it as well as live on it and love on it. Revolutionary suicide. “But before the die, how shall we live?”. What a question to ask. Yesterday I read that revolutionaries know that they are doomed people. And that most of them go into activism knowing that they won’t be the beneficiaries of their own activism but that the people that come after them will benefit from their groundwork and I genuinely can’t find anything more honourable (other than risking your life for someone else) but like yeah I really fuck with that. And in a way what revolutionaries do is exactly what I just mentioned ; risk their live(lihoods) for the betterment of tomorrow’s society. Do you ever wonder why there’s 7 mins of brain activity when you die? And what your brain is doing or where your soul is going? yes I am high right now but honestly we know this by now. I should start saying when I’m sober on the off chance that is. Life scares me but also keeps me wondering and I think that’s why it’s so important to me. It’s like every day is a bit scary cause anything could happen but like that’s also the fun part. The risk. Daring to live a full life is scary. Cause it really takes you to the depths of yourself and forces you to accept parts of you that you thought were hidden away. Confronting issues and shit. Realising you have the power to actually get everything you want. I’m so glad I read that wall cause it put me in a better mood. I’m so happy I did that I can feel my insides delightful at me for that. Thank you God for real. Is it Drakes birthday today? It is his birthday today. I know show Cersei was great character thanks to Lena. But I seriously didn't like the way they put Cersei as last queen of 7 kingdoms after blasting Sept of Baelor. They made Cersei some kind of badass who was right all time and deserves the throne. By giving her Aegon story D&D did massive disservice to her and other characters. If Cersei become a shrewd queen after destruction then why Lannisters are villains? Her and Dany are supposed to be similar and she looked better than Dany.
She did look better than Dany in the end. :)
I actually think that the Sept will be destroyed. I can't find my notes rn (I have so many quotes pulled for posts I will never get around to making), but to me, we weren't meant to celebrate Cersei's humiliation, it was about the corruption and gross wrongs committed there and part of Martin's critique of religion/religious institutions and the natural endpoint to that is the destruction of the place.
Anyway, evil people can be shrewd, bad people can be successful, and it makes sense to me that someone who is willing to just slaughter people a) wins themselves no loyalty but b) frightens people into submission...for a time. I don't think winning means that someone is right, but Lena did make Cersei pretty badass, and she was right about Dany so I see where you're coming from. The Lannisters are villains because they do inexcusable things. The slaughter of Elia and her children, Robb and the Northmen, Cersei murdering her friend as a child, Jaime attempting to murder a child, forcing a child to marry one of them to take her claim...I mean, there's a long list of beyond the norm shitty behavior going on there. I don’t think Cersei recognizing Dany as a threat changes that. And as much as Dany’s excuse for burning people alive was bullshit (Cersei used them against her, y’all! Of course she had to burn them alive. What was she supposed to do? Stand there and NOT burn people alive???!), Cersei was using them as a shield which is evil. It’s actually a thing in the books (presented poorly in the show), that surrendering to save your people is the right/good thing to do. This is why I never objected to Jon bending the knee if it was done for that purpose. I think it is in line with Martin’s beliefs. Fighting for a crown is not a thing he supports however, so even though Dany did something far worse than Cersei could do, they were both evil in the end, and that’s fine. I don’t think they meant to communicate that Cersei was deserving of the throne, no one who uses their people that way is. She was still very much a villain in the Stark’s eyes, it was just meant to be a slap in the face of all the Dany stans that they’d been supporting the real evil queen all along. That isn’t entirely true to the books because I think Martin wants us to view Cersei as inherently flawed and believe that Dany truly has selfless motives, is a better person than Cersei in some ways, but even so, book Dany is still going to cause far more suffering, and she will be personally responsible for far more deaths.
And, when Dany goes against Aegon, that’s actually a less sympathetic cause than her going against Cersei. I mean, Jaime did kill her dad, evil or no, he murdered him. Even though Dany doesn’t seem particularly sympathetic to Elia (imo), she does view the slaughter of Elia and her children as a horrible thing, and the death of her brother grieves her. SO, if D&D had done a better job, the idea that she has a personal grievance against the Lannisters and Starks...that should have been very compelling. I mean, I didn’t buy into her case for why she needed to take Westeros because her dad brought being overthrown upon himself, but all that’s in there. In contrast, when she goes up against Aegon, although she will believe he is a fraud, she doesn’t have that backstory of why it’s just to fight him. It will simply be two people who are fighting for a crown that they believe is theirs by right even though their family was overthrown. And, Dany won’t know that Aegon isn’t Aegon, he might actually be Aegon, and she will still fight him, she will still kill him, she will still slaughter countless people to get her stupid throne. She will look worse to the (unbiased) reader, she will certainly seem worse to the Westerosi because of the kinslaying.
Anyway, you’re right that there are similarities between Cersei and Dany, so it’s funny that the fandom loathes Cersei and wants her to die a violent death, but think Dany’s a hero. I guess that’s why, in spite of it not being logical, I’m not too bothered that D&D made Cersei rule until the end and gave her the kindest ending they could. I view that as the fandom’s just deserts for being so gross about her while stanning Dany. 😈

K this got LONG so here's a read more!
1. What OTPs in your fandom(s) do you just not get?
Honestly even though I don't multi-ship often I DO usually get the appeal behind ships so this is a really short list. This will probably get me some hate but I still to this day can't get behind c/ex@ from the show that will not be named. But then again I do get the appeal of two super attractive women with chemistry and the whole ruler/ girl who makes the ruler change their ways thing. So I guess I get it even if I don't like it?
Also, and this is not to hate on Hinny, but Harry and Ginny from HP are not my cup of tea. I like what fandom has done for them but the actual content we get for them in the books (and movies, but I prefer the books) isn't enough for me to love them. Same with Mal and Alina from S & B/ Grishaverse, they're so bland to me in the books but the show is doing far better with them and actually making Mal ya know. Likeable. Again, I don't ship it, but best friends to lovers is top tier so I get it.
Oh! I also don't really get Dwalin/Ori from The Hobbit, but that is probably in large part because I'm a Dwalin/Nori shipper. Again though, all of the secondary characters' relationships in The Hobbit rely on fans to extrapolate HARD and wear extreme shipper goggles, and ik there's that scene where Dwalin helps Ori out of the river so like.. maybe that's where it's from? I don't hate it or anything but it's always something that's made me go ??? cause I have no idea where the heck it came from.
Apart from that... I can't think of any rn? I feel like I understand where all the PJO ships come from, even if I don't ship them. There are a couple that I don't understand how they can be someone's OTP, just because I find them super boring (no offense to those who ship C@leo or J@siper but I just don't love how Rick handled those relationships). In TSC I think fandom mainly vibes with the same pairings and that's true for most of my book fandoms. With the shows I watch I don't think fans majorly ship anything too out there for me. Maybe I don't interact enough with fandoms to tell. So this is all I got.
5. Has fandom ever ruined a pairing for you?
Oh my god, oh my god, this is a can of worms, my lord. A pairing I'm not so sure about, but characters? Abso-fucking-lutely. I took a break from PJO fandom for exactly that reason and the list of characters is endless honestly, for multiple fandoms.
I won't say fandom ruined Bell@rke for me cause I still ship it, but I definitely lost enthusiasm with how toxic the shows fandom was and then that was made even worse when the show completely destroyed itself with the worst writing and plots ever in the latter seasons.
Also I have a feeling that G@me of Thrones/ @soiaf ruined one for me but I can't remember this very second. Maybe not, and again that's probably cause I don't interact with fandoms en masse, usually just through fic and following a few people I vibe with in each.
6. Has fandom ever made you enjoy a pairing you previously hated?
Yes, quite a few! I used to dislike Drarry (for obvious reasons I feel) and Romione (as a kid I wanted Hermione to be with Harry and even when I grew out of that I really didn't like she was with Ron) but fandom changed that for sure. And same with Darklina now, I was upset cause I felt like the books really underutilized their relationship and fell short of what could have been a super awesome pairing if better explored, but the show fandom is taking it in so many different ways that I'm starting to really love them despite the reasons I shouldn't.
And I won't say I hated Hayffie in THG, but definitely the only reason I ship them is from reading @ellanainthetardis's fic Have a Drink Sweetheart and then all the others written for them. That portrayal of Hayffie and the characters have become my own headcanons now because I've been reading them for so long and they're so good.
Fandom made me ship Leon and Morgana from Merlin too, though that's very lowkey. I never hated them, I just never thought of them as a pairing until reading fic.
20. What is the purest ship in the fandom?
Percabeth. I don't care which fandom, it's Percabeth. Growing up together, going from enemies to friends to best friends to lovers? The establishment of them being best friends and the way Rick wrote that friendship was so pure, and they are a couple with no internal problems, all external, and you just know they're gonna be together through everything, fighting at each other's side, cause that's the way they are. There's a reason they're my OTP and it's cause they are the most well-established, ride or die couple I can think of. They're just so solid.
21. What are your thoughts on crack ships?
Love em for fandom but personally I very rarely get behind crackships just because I usually need a lot of build up, scenes, good dialogue and chemistry, etc. to ship something, so most of my ships aren't crack ships. The only one I can really think of that I actively root for and ship and would read fic for is Billy/ Owen from 911 Lonestar which is just... something.
Like idk if Barduil from The Hobbit is crack because ik it's quite popular... what makes a ship a crack ship anyway? Lack of canon reference? Is it cause they two characters would be so random together because they barely ever interact? Or because it's SO unrealistic you know for sure it will never happen but want it to anyway? Or is it lack of popularity in fandom? I need someone to define this so I have a better answer :D if it's the second option then I have MANY
I love seeing fandom stuff for crack ships though, cause seriously, it's fiction, ship who you want. If you ship two characters just cause you think they're pretty side by side then that's enough for me. Make all of the fan art and fic you like.
22. Popular character you hate?
Oof. Jason from HOO. And Leo in everything after The Lost Hero. I hated Piper in The Lost Hero and Mark of Athena but like her after those. I don't like any of the book characters from S & B except Nikolai, but I like everyone in the show (except David? Why did they make him so weird? Like he's not even awkward, he's straight up rude imo, but anyway). In @soiaf I don't like Jon Snow, I think he's boring. And I despise Jorah Mormont cause I think he's creepy for having a crush on Dany.
Didn't love Stefan in TVD, too much of a goody-two-shoes. I liked dark Stefan but it felt like a totally different character. Honestly most of the characters I don't like cause they're boring or too by-the-book.
OH! A big one in M@rvel is Captain America. Can't stand him honestly, I like him as a character to have in the story, but I like never agree with him on anything. I like a couple of his one-liners but that's it really. I also don't like Gale in THG, idk if that's controversial. Or Lex@ from the show that will not be named because I think she's manipulative and not good for any of the characters i DO love.
Is Ron popular? I think so. I like fandom Ron but not canon Ron and idk why. I think I'm growing out of it but I read those books when I was like 7 initially so I thought it was awful of Ron to stop being friends with Harry because he was jealous and I never really got over that.
There are so many but I'm gonna stop now.
23. Unpopular character you love?
Again, tons. I love anyone whose got kind of a tortured backstory because it makes them more interesting to me.
I love Movieverse Hawkeye! I think Clint is great and while I wish his deafness was canon in Marvel and I don't love J Remmer, I do love Hawkeye a lot. He was honestly one of the only Marvel characters that felt consistent and in-character throughout the movies.
I like President Snow from THG just cause I think he was a fantastic villain. And Effie and Haymitch aren't unpopular, but they're probably my favourites, again because of the fics mentioned above.
Leon from Merlin!! I don't actually think he's unpopular, but he's like... my fourth favourite character in the show which I know IS considered high for most people.
Sandor Clegane from ASOIAF. Not the show, just the books. His book character is phenomenal and I am so excited for GrrM to finish the goddamn series so I know what happens to him.
The Stolls and Katie Gardner from PJO cause fandom created Tratie and sucked me in at a young age.
Bellatrix Lestrange? Is she unpopular? I don't think so but she's another one I think is a fantastic villain. I'm almost more interested in her than Voldemort tbh.
