Ima say it bone finders that dig up pet graves are FUCKING HORRIBLE AND I ONLY WISH THE WORST FOR THEM.

I saw a post about a girl who was heart broken just fucking inconsolable because someone dug up her fucking dog's grave and took her dog's corpse..

Now before you ask " oh maybe it was an animal?"

Nope, all the rocks were moved off the grave put in a pile near the grave and there was shovel marks in the dirt and the hole was just empty...

Update more info: she had buried the family dog in their favorite fishing spot, a spot she’d been going to with her dog and grandpa since childhood. The same spot they scattered her grandpa’s ashes.. the dogs grave and memorial stone was next to the grandpa’s memorials stone..... The grandpa's memorial stone was also knocked over along with the dogs memorial stone OnO

I can't imagine the pain of finding out the pet you loved was ripped from it's resting place, you have no place to mourn and no idea where they are or what someone is doing with them.

What's sad is there is a lot of stories like this and it's just heart breaking.

animal parts in magick (pt 1)

please note that while i go into a bit of depth about some animals, most of these can also have characteristics added regarding the species of animal they come from (such as crow wings vs bluejay wings)

cat claws- protection, hunter energy, stealth

rabbit foot- luck, speed, money,

bird foot- protection, prosperity, luck

rat foot- determination, innovation, confidence

feet in general- movement, travel

legs- similar to feet,

fox fur- cleverness, warmth, stealth

cat fur- stealth, healing, cleanliness

fur/pelts- camouflage, protection, warmth

skins/molts- change, renewal, fresh beginnings, letting go, banishing

antlers- sexual attraction, victory, protection

horns- dominance, power, sexuality, fertility

fangs- protection, survival, victory, intimidation

molars/nonfangs- abundance, prosperity, defense

claws/claw husks- protection, spiritual defense, deflection

cloven hooves- sex, desire, fertility, prosperity

equine hooves- power, strength, beauty, capability

turtle shells- protection, divination, order, justice, fortune, strength

snail shells- protection, strength, love, sex, fertility

crustation shells-protection, strength, power

ears- truth, knowledge, language, learning

eyes- truth, healing, seeing the bigger picture, dreams

tounges- communication, kindness, hexing liars

brain- thought, communication, dreams, health, wisdom, intuition

hearts- love, emotion, heartbreak, healing

whiskers- luck, protection, wishing, manifestation, secrets

wings- communication, spirit communication, intellect, knowledge, ideas, messages

feathers- similar to wings but can have lesser energy attached rather then the whole wing. can use color magick with these and whole wings!

crow feathers/wings- death, divination, spiritual connection, swiftness

tails- communication, travel, stability

spinal column/vertebrae- intuition, communication, clear thoughts, protection

entrails- divination

blood- binding, hexing/cursing, banishing, devotion

urine- communication, attraction, hexing/cursing, protection

eggs- protection, fertility, banishing, divination, wishes, growth

misc bones- divination, life, death, ancestry, honor

skulls- connection to the animal it belonged to and its properties

please understand that i highly discourage actively killing an animal for your witchcraft. if you find roadkill or bones, purchase parts/bones/blood, or have hunter friends who are willing to let you harvest past the meat/flesh, please feel free (this is what i do.) if you are ok hunting animals for food and using the body for magick as well, go for it. but please dont mindlessly kill/sacrifice animals. its disrespectful towards the animals, the earth and the energies involved.

best places to find ethically sourced bones-

railroad tracks:

- be careful doing this, parts of these (at least in my area) are considered private property, however parts are not, and it can be difficult to tell which parts are and which are not. look out for signs. also dangerous. stay off to the sides at all times and do not, i repeat DO NOT, EVER, cross the tracks, for any reason, unless at an assigned crossing- during the allotted time period. trains will not stop for you, they are not able to do that- and sometimes they may not even see you. be constantly looking over your shoulder and read up more on railroad safety. however- many animals get caught in the tracks and are hit by trains, or simply their bones can be found by the side of the tracks, so this makes it quite a great place to find many bones.

near bodies of water:

-my favourite body of water is along the riverside. this is a great place to find many fish bones, as well as the bones of the animals who come to find the fish. fisherman also may discard fish off on the riverside if they are not happy with what they have caught. just be careful not to be in a metropark! overall not super dangerous, and a great place to find bones, but limited on the types youll find.

rubbish piles:

-this one typically finds racoons, opossums, rats, mice, dogs, cats, and other animals of the sort. but that gives a pretty good range. be careful of the live animals youre bound to find rummaging round in there though. you can usually find whole skeletons, and theyre usually already cleaned really well (of the flesh) because of the, again, live animals. clean them extra well because of the diseases these animals carry while being in these environments. overall, another excellent option for different varieties of bones.

state parks:

-this one is iffy, it depends entirely on which state park, and what the individual rules are. some state parks allow you to scavenge things like mushrooms, and hunt, which doesn't explicitly state, but obviously would include bones. however some, do not. but if they do, take full advantage of it, its an incredible opportunity, and even take advantage of all being able to use the hunters at your disposal (for information only of course), which brings me to the last location on my list.

dumping sites:

-my personal favourite, dumping sites are where hunters discard parts/carcasses they do not have need or want for. bones are typically among these parts, thus making it peak scavenging grounds for us bone collectors. one downside however is that they can be quite tricky to find, and can typically only be found by actually asking around a group of hunters to find out which dumping site the majority of them use. but when you find one oh boy, its all worth it, so many different types of bones, so many different animals, so many different sizes, its everything you could ever want, or ask for. so take the chance and ask around. its worth it. trust me.
