Coeli's Picks: Men, part 3 (Dishonorable Mention)
Just in time for April Fool's Day, here are some truly eyebrow-raising and head-scratching costumes. I know neither of these shows had a huge budget, but that's no excuse.
Coeli's comments:
"If I had to look at them, so do you!"
Blake's 7 (s4e4, "Stardrive")
"Punk space pirates who totally fail to come across as menacing:"

Doctor Who (s10 e5, "Carnival of Monsters") / Leslie Dwyer as Vorg (and Cheryl Hall as Shirna)

No seriously, why is his costume Fruit Loops?

haiku misinformation: a fact check
there's an post going around about haiku that has a lot of incorrect information about haiku, its terminology, history, etc. I will try to debunk some of the biggest inaccuracies here. everything in quotes is a direct statement from the original post. this is also really, really long.
"Haiku are made of 14 on, which are essentially the equivalent to Japanese syllabic structures, except the nature of how Japanese as a language is constructed versus English means that any given proper haiku could be translated in extremely and intensely different ways, each giving a subtle but distinctly different meaning."
Starting off strong - haiku are (usually) made of 17 on. It's the classic 5-7-5 pattern! 5+7+5=17! [possibly this is a mix-up with wakiku (脇(わき)句(く)) which is another type of Japanese poetry that does use 14 on but who knows.]
Definitions: an on is a phonetic unit, the equivalent to a mora (pl. morae) in English. this concept a) exists in English and b) like on, is related to syllables but distinctly different from them (i.e. ba is one mora but baa with a long vowel is two morae). On can be counted using the number of hiragana (phonetic syllabic characters) when the text is transliterated, so a word like Osaka that has the long O sound (made up of 4 kana) would be 4 morae or 4 on (o-o-sa-ka; おおさか). it's not really a syllabic structure at all, and more importantly has nothing to do with translation. idk where that last part comes from because that's really...not the point here. Yes, any given "proper" haiku could be translated in different ways with a subtle but distinctly different meaning but that's true of just...translation, period. check out Deborah Smith's translation of The Vegetarian by Han Kang for more on that.
Furthermore, haiku were/are not rigidly locked into the 5-7-5 on pattern. That's just not true, which is why I said usually above. Easy example: a 1676 haiku by Matsuo Basho that uses 18-on:
冨士の風や 扇にのせて 江戸土産; ふじのかぜや おうぎにのせて えどみやげ; the wind of Fuji /I've brought on my fan/a gift from Edo <- that first line is 6-on!
2. "The best way I can explain what I mean is that in English a good poem can be defined as a shallow river, whereas a good haiku is a deeply-dug well."
Not dignifying this with a response. Deeply incorrect and untrue. @bill-blake-fans-anonymous can handle this assertion.
3. "The presence of the kigu. There is a specific series of characters/words which are used to imply a season, and specifically a specific aspect of a season which the haiku revolves around. The creation of a haiku is often done as a meditative practice revolving around the kigu--you're essentially contemplating on this particular natural feature (nearly always the temporal aspect emphasizes either ephemerality or the opposite as well bc Buddhist ideas of enlightenment and beauty begin coming into play) and building an evocative and purposeful point that revolves around it like a hinge. It functions as both ground and anchor."
First (and largest) problem: the word. is. kigo. kigo. It's ki (季; season)-go (語; word) = 季語. Both the English and Japanese language Wikipedia, or a 3-second google search, will tell you this immediately. I have no idea where the term kigu comes from.
Second problem: plenty of haiku, both traditional and contemporary, do not use kigo. these are described as muki (無季; seasonless). Matsuo Basho, the haiku-writing poet non-Japanese people are most likely to know, wrote at least ten seasonless haiku that exist today. Masaoka Shiki, the Meiji-era haiku poet and reformist, wrote hundreds of kigo-free haiku and as an agnostic, tried to separate haiku from Buddhism and focus more on the shasei, the sketches from daily life. you can actually, today, buy what are called saijiki, which are lists of words and terms that refer to specific seasons (in the traditional Japanese calendar, so there are actually a lot of "micro" seasons as well). some saijiki include a whole section of "seasonles" words - here's an article about non-season kigo in a saijiki.
so the claim that English-language haiku are invalid or not "real" haiku because they lack a kigo doesn't hold up, unless you invalidate a whole bunch of Japanese haiku as well. the op also claimed they would categorize a lot of English "haiku" as senryū which is...an opinion. Yes, haiku tend to be focused around nature (more on that below) and senryū tend to be more comedic or about human foibles but...that's it! it's a tendency! it's not a hard and fast rule!
Third problem: the claim that a haiku is as meditative practice revolving around the kigu kigo...yeah, no. the earlier form of haiku, the hokku, were the introductory poems of the longer poetic form, the renga and the hokku gradually became a standalone poetic form known as haiku. the hokku had a lot of purposes and we have a historical record of them going back ~1000 years to Emperor Juntoku where they were declamatory poems tied to events (births, deaths, etc.) or social events (moon-viewing parties) - not really meditative. haiku, if a genre can focus on a single idea, focus on an experience and that can be real or imaginary, direct and personal or neither.
Here's another Basho poem for your consideration:
夏草や 兵どもが 夢の跡 (natsukusa ya tsuwamonodomo ga yume no ato; summer grasses--/traces of dreams/of ancient warriors)
both the dreams and the grasses are those of Basho (contemporary) and of the warriors (ancient); it's about travel, it's about connecting the present to the ancient past, it's not really so much about the summer.
(Fourth, minor problem that I'm not really going to get into: you'd have to take this 'Buddhist ideas of enlightenment and beauty' up with haiku scholar Haruo Shirane but he explicitly says in the Routledge Global Haiku Reader (2024) that "pioneers of English-language haiku [such as D.T. Suzuki, Alan Watts, and the Beats] mistakenly emphasized Zen Buddhism in Japanese haiku".....so.)
4. "The presence of the kireji...it's a concept borderline absent from English because it's an intersection of linguistics and philosophy that doesn't really exist outside of the context of Japanese."
Let's begin with clarification. What is kireji (lit. a 'cutting word')? It's a class of terms in Japanese poetry that can do a few things, depending on the specific kireji and its place in the poem. In the middle of the poem, it can mark a thematic break, a cut in the stream of thought highlighting the parallel(s) between the preceding and following phrases. At the end of the poem, it provides a sense of ending and closure - it helps mark rhythmic division, to say the least, and it is seen as the 'pivot' word.
Two problems with claims above:
a. there are haiku that do not use kireji. For the hat trick, here's a Matsuo Basho haiku from 1689 AD that is kireji-free: 初しぐれ猿も小蓑をほしげ也 (hatsu shigure saru mo komino wo hoshige nari; the first cold shower/even the monkey seems to want/a little coat of straw) <- NB: I love this haiku so much
b. the idea of a kireji, as in a pivot word that provides an inflection point with rhythmic division and structure, exist not just in English poetry but in multiple different types of poetry across time and space! The caesura in Latin and Ancient Greek! The volta in sonnets! Whatever is happening in the third line of the Korean sijo!
final thoughts:
the op included language, which I won't quote here because it was messy and tied into other rbs, about Orientalism and appropriation in English-language haiku, which is definitely a real thing. but this blanket statement ignores that the relationship between haiku and "the West", much like Japan and "the West", was and is not a one-way street. Western writers were influenced by haiku and, in turn, those writers influenced Japanese writers who wrote haiku inspired by these influences - this process has been going on for well over a century. Furthermore, English and Japanese are not the only languages in which haiku are written! Nobel Prize winner Rabindranath Tagore was writing haiku in Bengali; other Indian poets were and are writing them in Gujrati and Malayalam, particularly by the poet Ashitha. the Pakistani poet Omer Tarin has written haiku about Hiroshima! The Spanish poet Lorca published haiku in, get this, Spanish, in 1921 and the Mexican poet José Juan Tablada published more in 1922! Italian translations of Yosano Akiko were published in 1919! any discussion of the idea that English/non-Japanese-language haiku aren't really haiku because they don't hold to the "rules" (which Japanese authors have been revising, adapting, critiquing, and/or straight up flouting for centuries) or because English/non-Japanese poetry is "a shallow river whereas a good haiku is a deeply-dug well" just shows a lack of knowledge around traditions and depths of...well, poetry itself.
my god this is so long.
in summary: this is a complex topic. If anyone would like some actual information about haiku, its history, common themes and forms, or a collection of good poets, the Routledge Global Haiku Reader (2024) and Haiku Before Haiku : From the Renga Masters to Basho (2011) are great references and really accessible in their language! hmu if you're interested and I can send you some pdfs.

Need I say more?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think the people, objectively, have spoken.
if I were to add in my opinion you’d see that I contributed a few fanfics to the mix
Main reason for my dislike of White Knight: I hate Jaune and Weiss is my favorite character, so I think she deserves better. I know some people won’t say this is a valid reason but Jaune originally and currently isn’t written very well. You basically have to give him his own episode to flush out his plot line, (like in the first season and every season afterwards where he’s important) and he’s not a main character so he takes up screen time. (They do the same with Oscar and the rest of JNPR Instead of doing a JNPR episode, they do each of them individually with sprinkles of plot in between) Honestly, a relationship between him and Weiss would be a bad idea. Case in point:
Volume 1 White-knight Moments:
Jaune unsuccessfully flirting with Weiss (+1)
Volume 2 White-knight Moments:
Jaune unsuccessfully flirting with Weiss (+1)
Volume 3 White-knight moments:
… PYRRHA! (-1)
Volume 4 White-knight moments:
… (No interaction; no points awarded or deducted)
Volume 5 White-knight moments:
Jaune does a common courtesy and saves Weiss’s life (does not count; he would react the same for anybody- ‘nO hE wOULdn’T’ shut up Victoria if any of your friends were dying you’d save their life) [+0.5]
Volume 6 White-knight moments:
Volume 7 White-knight moments:
Volume 8 White-knight moments:
Volume 9 White-knight moments:
Weiss admires Jaune over the fact that he’s mature, and supports him like a good friend after Ruby runs away. He reverts to his old form, and we never hear from them again. (+2)
Total score: 3.5/9 (trying to be generous, I really am)
Main reason for liking Whiterose: Enemies to friends to lovers is an adorable trope, and they get a lot of screen time together in the first few seasons. Also, Monty himself shipped them. While I won’t say Whiterose is objectively better than White Knight, I am going to say that when I include my own opinion, it is better. Weiss and Ruby’s relationship feels more like a slow burn than Yang and Blake’s. We get scenes that could be interpreted that way in almost every season since Volume one. Let me go through them, and to show how unfair this is, I’m not allowed to add more than 1.5 points:
Volume 1 Whiterose Moments
Ruby and Weiss are off to a rocky start, but slowly warm up to each other as time goes on, and they get closer. They have a mildly, could-be considered romantic moment where Weiss makes Ruby coffee so she can stay up to study. (+1)
Volume 2 Whiterose Moments
In the food fight, Ruby dramatically catches Weiss when she falls and pretends to cry over her. (Not really much, but it’s something). Ruby and Weiss consistently pair up to get things done throughout the season, especially when looking into information about Cinder. (+1)
Volume 3 Whiterose Moments:
Supporting each other when Winter gets there (that is Volume 3, right?), excellent teamwork in the first stage of the Amity Arena battle, and Weiss’s concern for Ruby when she disappears. (+1)
Volume 4 Whiterose Moments:
Thinks about each other, but otherwise, nothing. (No points awarded or deducted)
Volume 5 Whiterose Moments:
Weiss remember’s Ruby’s coffee taste. While this could be something any friend does, they spend time together, reflecting over beacon, and Weiss helps Ruby’s sister Yang through an implication that she’s doing it for team RWBY, but especially their eccentric fluffball of a leader. (+1.5)
Volume 6 Whiterose Moments:
Ruby saves Weiss on the train, Weiss saves Ruby in the battle against the mech, and they spend time together in the village with the grim. I should give two points here but I’m loyal to my word. (+1.5)
Volume 7 Whiterose Moments:
Ruby and Weiss sitting together during training, and Weiss supporting Ruby when the team splits up. (+0.5)
Volume 8 Whiterose Moments:
Supporting each other all throughout the volume by working together, and acting as teammates and partners. (+0.5)
Volume 9 Whiterose Moments:
Ruby supports Weiss after her being upset about the fall of Atlas. (Jaune’s interaction with Weiss, -1 point- would have been two, though)
6/9
In any scenario, Whiterose wins. Im sure other people could come up with reasons to disprove me, or say I’m biased (I am, this is in no way objective), but these are the things I saw with my own eight eyes because I own three pairs of glasses, and heard with my (admittedly failing) teenage ears.
I’m sure I’ll get flak for this from both sides of the shipping community, because admittedly, the RWBY fandom can be toxic (but it’s almost any fandom at that point) saying I either graded White Knight too harshly or I gave too many or too few points to Whiterose, and I also did all of this off the top of my head, so I apologize for my many mistakes. I have two last statements:
Rosegarden: 0/9
Oscar is 14 and Ruby is 17. If I, the same age as Oscar as of 2023, would not date Ruby at that time, it’s probably wrong. When it comes to relationships for younger people, it’s best to avoid age gaps larger than 2 years. It’s also best to avoid relationships altogether until you can at least go for a learner’s permit. I rest my case.
edit 3: alright, some people have corrected me on the age part, apparently he’s fifteen. I don’t hate Rosegarden, but something about Ozpin and Oscar being the same person makes me really uncomfortable (again, as someone who is younger). Thats the only reason I didn’t give it any rating- it just feels too close to, well… I don’t really have to say it. Especially when the whole point of things is that Oscar and Ozpin are becoming the same person.
Bumblebee: 8/9
It’s canon, bro. It does feel slightly forced at times, but they’re a strong couple who supports each other and helps each other through trauma. You go girls, lesbians all the way (insert lesbian pride flag here)
edit: got someone sending in a message about neither ever going to be canon. You’re right, but thank you so much for crushing a high schooler’s hopes and dreams. Have a nice day
edit 2: I prefer icerose over whiterose but I’ll get what I can take (canon ruby x ice Queendom Weiss). This is just an overall argument.

Ranking Hazbin Hotel Songs (S1)
I’m seeing people do this on TT, but I don’t like posting on there, so I’m posting my list here instead. Obvious warning, but these are my own personal opinions. I think all of the songs are absolute bangers, but there are some that are better than others, so keep that in mind.
16. Welcome to Heaven
Pretty much the general fandom consensus. It’s not a bad song, and I like Darren Criss as a singer, but it’s too short and doesn’t do a whole lot for the plot.
15. Finale
This might be a pretty hot take, but I’m not that big of a fan of the finale. There are some parts that I like individually, but as a whole song, it doesn’t do it for me. It’s still good though.
14. Hell’s Greatest Dad
I think this one is the one that’s gonna upset a lot of people, but I really don’t vibe with this one. No, it has nothing to do with Mimzy. In fact, I actually like her a lot, but that’s besides the point. I’m not a huge fan of talk singing, and that’s what both of Alestor’s songs are, so they aren’t going to be very high. Not even Jeremy Jordan can save this song.
13. Stayed Gone
Again, I’m just not big on talk singing. I like this one just a bit more because I like Christian Borle’s voice as a talk-singer just a bit more than Jeremy Jordan.
12. More Than Anything (Reprise)
This is a really cute song! I wish we had more Chaggie moments in the show, but I’m glad we got this. It would be much higher, but I don’t like how short it is.
11. It Starts With Sorry
Idk why so many people hate this song. It’s so cute! Charlie’s voice is so good, and I like the lesson Sir Pentious learns. It gives off children’s show song, but in a very good way.
10. Out for Love
Carmilla my beloved! I am obsessed with her. I like how she taught Vaggie in this song. Again, my only real problem with it is how short it is. Idk why they made some of their best songs so short, but I need a longer version.
9. Happy Day in Hell
I am a big fan of introduction songs in musicals, and this is a perfect example of why. It’s a nice way to see Hell, especially through the optimism of someone like Charlie. It’s silly and upbeat, and I like that a lot.
8. Poison
I love this song so much! Blake Roman did such a fantastic job with his performance as Angel. I’m not usually a big fan of this particular type of pop, which is why I have it a bit lower, but I think it fits well with what they were going for in writing this song. It’s absolutely perfect.
7. Whatever it Takes
I need these two to have another duet at some point. Their voices fit so well together. Both of their individual parts are also very solid. All around just a good song.
6. You Didn’t Know
I blast this song at least once a day. My fave part is Lute, and I wish we got more of her singing voice this season. Jessica Vosk is so talented, so I hope we get more in season two. Obviously, Charlie and Emily’s part is also amazing, and I like Sera’s parts as well.
5. Hell is Forever
Ah yes, my favorite Christian rock song. Seriously though, this song is so good. It’s most similar to the actual kind of music I listen to, so of course it’d be pretty high on this list. It’s a good intro to Adam and the angels in general, and it slaps.
4. Respectless
Velvette might actually be one of my favorite characters. She, for sure, has my favorite design of any character, and she might have my favorite female voice as well (tied with Lute). Also, she was so real for what she said to Carmilla. Her voice is just very fun to listen to.
3. More than Anything
Jeremy Jordan is the reason I live and breathe. His voice is literal honey. He and Erika Henningsen harmonizing has brought new meaning into my life. I may not have daddy issues, but I think this song healed them anyway. It’s so cute.
2. Ready for This
I’m a sucker for a good rally song, and this is exactly that. Cannibal Town is also my favorite location of any place we’ve seen, both in Hazbin and Hellava Boss, and I adore Rosie. The cannibals were very funny in this number, and I like that Charlie was able to gain some confidence.
1. Loser, Baby
I’m officially changing my brand to the #1 Huskerdust shipper ever. I’m so obsessed with them. This episode is tied for my favorite with Hello, Rosie! Keith David needs another song immediately, and so does Blake Roman. They sound so good together, and I can’t wait to hear more of them!

Thoughts on episode:
1. RAVEN KNOWS WHAT HAPPED OMG IS THAT WHY SHE WENT FULL BANDIT AND HATES OZ???? HOW MESSED UP WAS THIS MISSION???
2. Neo may be good guy now who wants friends? Ugh like I don’t want to feel bad for her about the Torchwick moment but can’t help myself.
3. Jaune’s voice change with his appearance had me ROLLING like he’s a prepubescent dude 😂
4. The 4 of them was what this God was striving for all along? Send me to go cry inconsolably.
5. Juniper and Somewhat going off to save the world is amazing and Jaune crying about it is perfect.
6. All the airships at Vacuo are alarming.
7. VACUO????
8. BLAKE AND YANG NOT BEING ABLE TO NOT HOLD HANDS AT LOOK AT EACH OTHER IS FANTASTIC THEY MAKE EVERY DECISION TOGETHER WITH CONSENT AND NOW I HAVE THEM LAYING TOGETHER EVEN IF JUST BC THRY WERE BLASTED INTO A CUDDLE JFKFKDJSJSBA
9. But… where is my extended version of Worthy?
10. Did… did we just… get a HAPPY ending of a season? HOW AND OMG I WAS ABSOLUTELY EXPECTING SOMETHING MESSED UP

Bellamy Blake Appreciation week 2023
Hey, folks! As usually this time of the year, we're organizing Bellamy Blake appreciation week!
This time it'll take place from December 11th-December 17th!
You can tag your creations with #bbaw23 and we'll make sure to reblog them!
Here are the prompts for each day! Of course, you're free to create anything you like if you don't feel like a certain prompt works for you!
Day 1: Favorite season-last year we tried favorite episode but we thought this year you could pick the saeson where you loved Bellamy the most! Of course you can pick more than one or all of them if you just feel like it!
Day 2: Favorite character trait-we all know our boy had amazing character traits, whether it's bravery, selflessness, hero-complex, being a hothead and so on, so pick whichever one you love the most!
Day 3: Favorite sibling moment-here, the focus is obviously on the Blake's relationship because we think it's worth to create more about it. Pick a favorite moment between Octavia and Bellamy and if you're not feeling that, you're free to choose another Bellamy + the delunquents dynamic. He was after all a big brother to them all in a way!
Day 4: Favorite comfort/soft moment- We all know Bellamy was good at helping others, talking them through hard moments and being there for them but we thought we'd turn this around. Who comforted Bellamy the best? What was your favorite moment when he leaned on someone else and talked about his feelings or what he was going through? Doesn't have to be a full scene, could just be a soft moment you found lovely.
Day 5: Favorite Rebel!Bellamy-of course this is tribute to season 1 Rebel!Bell phase but it doesn't have to be just about that. He had plenty of moments where he disagreed passionately with the other characters in the rest of the seasons too.
Day 6: Favorite Head!Bellamy moment-we've done favorite heart!Bellamy but we decided to spruce things up a bit this year and challenge you to find your favorite moment where he used his head! That doesn't mean residing only to season 5 or 6. Bellamy has always been smart and using his head even in earlier seasons, so chose whatever you feel like it!
Day 7: Free day-You can make a lyrics gif, favorite relationship gif, underrated moment or just a perfect shot of Bellamy that you think more people should have to watch on a loop on your perfect gifs and enjoy! Once again, anything you feel like doing!

*Spoiler Warning* Here is a list of the bad things that happened to Spencer Reid in 15 seasons of Criminal Minds (bare in mind he’s the youngest member of the BAU, being just 23 at the beginning of the series) *some events may be triggering*

9. This subsequently led to him developing a drug addiction
10. In season 4 he was held hostage by a religious cult and almost blown up

I just realized: If we look at all three arcs, the heroes only got one solid win. The first arc ends with the Fall of Beacon. The Second arc had them win. The Third arc ended with the Fall of Atlas and Mantle. I would like to think the Vacuo Arc would have ended in a win, but I'm not sure.
Alright, let's break it down, Volume by Volume, big fight by big fight.
Volume 1: Emerald Forest, Jaundice, Dock Fight
Three wins and plenty of room to grow.
Volume 2: Paladin Fight, Beacon Dance, Mountain Glenn
Win with collateral damage (that everybody was pissed about), one loss for the good guys with the data stolen by a disguised Cinder Fall, and one win for everybody at Beacon Academy, this time with somehow more and less collateral damage? I guess it was more contained than entire highways and bridges being damaged.
Volume 3: Vytal Tournament, Battle OfBeacon
Oh boy... This is where the losses start to stack... RWBY and JNPR made into the finals, but... Well, by the end, Penny and Pyrrha died, Team RWBY got separated, Yang lost an arm, and Beacon Academy and the CCT network was disabled. This coming from a previous volume where there was a joke about Ruby getting words wrong.
Volume 4: Volume 4...
This is the point where we learn the dynamic of RWBY Volumes, which is with the flow of seasons. Volume 1 was spring fresh with new beginnings, Volume 2 was action-packed summer adventures, and Volume 3 was drastic and horrible changes like the leaves in autumn, leading us to Volume 4, which hit us non-stop with L after L after L. Yangst, Weiss being abused, Blake having her kitty pity party, and Team RNJR (IT'S JNRR) having to survive Tyrian Callows, the Nuckelavee, and the harsh reality of being huntsmen and huntresses... Oh, and also the Brother gods are real.
Volume 5: Battle for Haven, Menagerie
By the end of Volume 5, everything starts looking up. The White Fang disbands after failing to assassinate the Belladonnas, Ruby and her friends manage to fend off Cinder's group, the good guys learn new abilities and limitations, and Cinder gets dropped off a cliff by Raven. Overall, a good Volume. A couple losses, but still a lot more wins.
Volume 6: Knock, knock! Who's there? It's REALITY!
And... it's gone. The wins. They're gone. Sure, we end this Volume with Adam's death and Ruby's group escaping to Atlas, but... this was also when RWBY stopped looking like young heroes and more like trouble-maker teens with good intentions doing more harm than good. And they don't get any punishment, really. Not to mention that we also learn the truth about Salem and Ozpin. Not many Ls, but only because they're still cooking.
Volume 7: You lost, but you won, but you still lost
Starting off, we have Team RWBY and group getting captured by the Ace-Ops, serving as a sort of marker for where they'll by Volume end. Until then, we have Team RWBY failing to stop a public massacre, a rigged election, and end with martial law being established over all of Atlas. But hey, at least we stopped Jacques Schnee, got out licenses to kill, and some sick-ass upgrades to our old gear!
Volume 8: I want off General Ironwood's Wild Martial Law
OKAY! So we start off with Penny being pressured to do something she doesn't want to and NOBODY is talking about it like adults. Even fucking General Ironwood isn't backing down. But then again, he's probably still riding the high of shooting a child and suffering from the low that it wasn't a kill shot. But yeah, this entire Volume was just low after low after low after LOW. There is no positive to this Volume. No Ws for anyone. Now get back on the bus. It's time to go to Saturday detention.
Volume 9: Guide~! My~! Way~! Out~! I'm what inspired the fairy tales~...
Real talk. You listening? Okay... I will say that V9 isn't the best Volume. Compared to V2 or V5, it's barely squeezing in at third. However, THIS is my absolute favorite Volume. In terms of Ls and Ws, there's definitely a couple Ls, biggest of all to Ruby, but she also gets the biggest W of the entire Volume. V9 has the best moments, the best music, and even the best villain of the entire series, even if they weren't even main antag level. Everything about Volume 9 served it's purpose as a spring chapter. It's coming out of the cold winter and into the new beginnings of spring.
That said, I understand that this being said AFTER RT already announced their shutdown, but I think the show says it best. Never lose hope, keep moving forward, and remember that victory is in the simple soul.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

in love with Max reducing high-performance athlete Daniel into a pile of mush on the bed. Daniel’s definitely moving slower the next day on the court.
Anonstie, you know wassup. There's no way that that doesn't stay with you, you know?
Daniel in media all day: 🥴😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫
Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 7
Pt 6?
"Oi!"
Daniel snapped out of his daydream, grunting as a tennis ball hit his stomach.
"Sorry. My bad." He coughed and readied himself behind the line. He shook his head to dislodge the dirty dirty thoughts that have been following him all day.
Last night with Max was amazing. Way more of a good time than he had anticipated.
Way way more.
He hadn't been folded like a lawn chair in a while. His body was still buzzing, his hole was feeling phantom thrusts at this point. Was that the breeze, it felt like Max's breath on his neck.
"DR!"
"Shit, fuck. Sorry" Daniel shook his shoulders out and bounced in place for a second.
He'd been spacing out all day, having all sorts of sex flashbacks at very inconvenient moments. Luckily he was able to save it in his media duties this morning. Making jokes in various interviews that he was reliving winning the Australian Open, which always opened the floor to follow up questions about the same then brought the interview back to whatever original question they'd asked him about the French.
Blake noticed though. Blake always noticed. And he wasn't happy with Daniel's distraction. He'd told Michael, like a fuckin' narc. And now here he was in punishment. Today was supposed to be a gaddamn rest day or whatever.
He'd already run fifty million laps, did too many burpees and now, well he wasn't paying attention now was he.
His body this morning was pleasantly achy and sore. Now though, now, he needed an ice bath something fierce. These fuckers.
"Maybe you shouldn't meet up with Max until after the Open, if this is gonna be what we have to deal with." Daniel heard Michael mutter exasperatedly.
"Whoa whoa there. Maybe we shouldn't be so hasty." Daniel chimed in. It wasn't that bad, there was no need to make such sweeping judgments.
"DR, you've been biting your lip and blushing all fuckin' day. You just daze off." Blake glared.
"You've been distracted as all fuck, and you keep reaching for your phone." Michael raised a brow judgingly.
Ok maybe it was so bad. Yikes on a bike.
"Jesus Christ we've never seen you so dick whipped."
"It's great that you got some. But can we not have it interfere with your season?"
"Ok ok so maybe, I kinda sorta am dickmatized." Daniel offered, placatingly. "It won't affect the Open. I promise."
"It better fuckin' not." Blake narrowed his eyes, fingers pointed. Daniel didn't want to disappoint his team. They worked too hard for this. He worked too hard for this. He can't be distracted now. Not by some guy. Even though he was hot as fuck and built like an absolute unit and his tongue felt so good and he already seemed to figure out how Daniel liked to be fucked an-
"Jesus H Macy!" Micheal threw his hands up and walked off the court.
The power rangers/kim possible theme went off in his bag.
Daniel smiled at Blake's annoyance, embarrassed. Just a little. He really got it bad.
