Analysis on why Seirin vs. Yōsen match is the best one in the whole series
Quick note, analysis is a strong word, this is more of an opinion essay, so think what you want. And if you don’t agree with me, you’re wrong /j /lh
I’ve noticed some opinions about this topic and wanted to chime in myself. The length of this post might have gone out of hands, but if you have nothing better to do, it would be nice if anyone could read it and maybe join into the discussion.
It is not a flawless match, there are flaws and some that I would not dare to call flaws. But the reason why I loved this match so much is the characters and their conflicts, there were many of them. Unlike with other teams, Seirin only played with Yōsen once and during the first anime watch, it was clear that in the hierarchy of GoM members, Murasakibara together with the whole of Yōsen is at the very end. So, in the single game Fujimaki decided to shove 4 conflicts – Kagami vs Himuro, Murasakibara vs Kiyoshi, Kagami vs Murasakibara and Kuroko vs Murasakibara, and then the introduction of Haizaki happened and got pushed to the front before the proper conclusion to Kagami vs Himuro one. While I really liked how each of them played out, I agree with some criticism and hate how rushed everything felt. To some extent it feels like “75.5 最高のプレゼントです” (saikō no puresento desu; It’s the best present), Kuroko’s birthday OVA, talked more about the relationships between these characters than the end of the arc which maybe could be seen as time simply passing but it makes me feel a little unsatisfied. But the, realistically, having more matches would have been difficult too.
But I don’t agree with the idea that this match was bad because it wasn’t as visually out there as other ones. In my opinion it’s something that made it the game much more enjoyable. It helped seeing the characters personalities and their current struggles, it felt more real.
In the second part I will be taking about the characters themselves and earlier mentioned conflicts, mainly focusing on the first two.
Kagami vs Himuro
I really enjoyed it. The jealousy, the feeling of being left in the dust by your own mentee, the ongoing resentment of someone you saw as you own little brother. It was great. Himuro is such an interesting and lovable character, so his anger towards both Kagami and Alex is so valid and portrayed quite well, I would say.
At the same time Kagami as well – losing your older brother figure, thinking like it was your own fault, having a fight and then dipping to another side of the world before even resolving it. Having those feelings and then having to start a life in Japan alone and at the same time struggling to find friends before joining Seirin for the same reason on why he lost that connection with Himuro – for being better at basketball.
And once they meet in the match, it’s so much more personal, to both of them. We were shown Kagami struggling, his emotions getting in the way, but I believe Himuro, underneath all the rage, was maybe also feeling something similar. The game ended, Haizaki kicks Himuro, Kise and Aomine save the day, such a good moment.
It is such a good moment, that I’m conflicted if it was satisfying enough or such quick introduction of Haizaki ruined it. Because I would have loved to see more of their brotherly relationship AFTER the big resolution, but maybe quite randomly introduced side character’s exploration was not as important.
Murasakibara vs Kiyoshi
I believe it’s clear that I love Murasakibara. But I also adore Kiyoshi, so seeing them put against each other made it oh so entertaining.
The annoying part is that their conflict and just those two, the energy between them is so important to me that i probably won’t be able to write any coherent thoughts, but let me try.
Often Murasakibara’s conflict is he loves basketball, he loves it more than anyone else, but because of his build and other physical abilities, he is not getting challenged for that. He became bored. Kiyoshi was one if not the first one who did, even back in middle school. Which even then infuriated Murasakibara as he did not see Kiyoshi as a worthy opponent, the same way with Kuroko and Kagami as well. But even after crushing Kiyoshi in middle school, that guy did not back down. Oh, he did not back down and then they met in high school level game.
Another thing I love about Kiyoshi is that he might appear like a golden retriever kind of character, but he’s very smart. He’s a sharp–tongued mastermind, like look at him and Hyūga. He knows how to infuriate Mursakibara, which, together with Kiyoshi’s play, made Mursakibara enraged, which lead into Kiyoshi having to be called out until near the very end of the match.
But even more importantly, Himuro’s speech about talent, jealousy and hard work during the time out that made Mursakibara become interested in the game again, to literally put his hair up. Yōsen pulled up and then Kiyoshi came back for the last minute. He’s stubborn, which annoys already fired up Mursakibara.
And then Mursakibara got into the zone...
... And then game ended.
And then we did not get to see him play up until Last Game (have not yet read extra game, I am so sorry) and even then, once he realizes he could do more than he thought and that basketball is not actually boring, he’s crushed. Literally.
That’s just something I find so infuriating about how Murasakibara’s character is written and also treated by Fujimaki, so after writing this, and putting thoughts into words, I now get why some may not like this match.
The ending is underwhelming. Yes, we get to see Mursakibara being crushed and saying that he’ll quit but also him really not wanting to quit and being deeply hurt by the loss and then what?
That’s it.
During the birthday OVA he’s still irritated by Kiyoshi's presence and then Last Game happens.
I’d say near all of GoM arcs feel some or less satisfyingly complete, other than his and Midorima’s (on who I could go on another rant but for that some research need to be done)
To conclude this off the rails mess, the conflicts between characters had so much potential, Murasakibara is such an underdeveloped character that has been watered down for no reason. At least I can’t seem to find one. I also been hearing that last game ruined Okamura’s character but it’s hard to speak without reading the manga.
If only we got more of Yōsen.
That’s my only regret and the only reason why I could not like this match – only because it brings the issue to the light. But despite all of this, I still love it, it is still my favourite game in the whole series and each time i love it even more.

Inochi no Tabekata 2 ch 3-1 Translation
Part #3 — Pupils, Flowing, Shooting Star | wish upon a comet
“Tonight let’s use the weasel as bait and kill the wolf
You just have to hide the prey so it can’t be found
Because the more treasure you can’t take back, the deeper the pain in your chest.”
 — “Work #10”  S
3-1 Otogiri Tobi– I Want to Hold Your Hand and Become Your Strength
“Oto…How many times is this? We’re going to hold a courtyard meeting.”
With a gloomy voice that would be difficult to describe as loud, Asahi Monika declared, and Shiratama Ryuuko applauded.
“Waa-”
Where was the need to unreasonably get loud like that? Tobi was already exhausted. Just sitting on the bench sandwiched between Monika and Ryuuko made him kind of tired.
“I mean, what kind of meaning…”
“I’m hungry…”
Tobi’s backpack groaned.
Monika whispered “I see.” She could hear the zingai voices. Like Tobi and Ryuuko could. Though Tobi had Baku, and Ryuuko had Chinuraasha, but Monika had no one.
“Baku has an appetite.”
“Ahh? Are you complaining?”
“I have no complaints. It’s just that it’s difficult. Ryuuko’s? What is it?”
“His name?”
Ryuuko opened her pochette. Immediately, a white fluffy zingai with horns sprouting out poked his face out from inside. But he often fits in that pochette. Was it just Tobi’s imagination? He was kind of big. Was he getting bigger?
“His name is Chinuraasha, and I call him Chinu.”
“How’s Chinu-chan?”
“Is Chinu-chan hungry?”
As Ryuuko touched Chinu’s horns with her fingertips, she thought, “mm–…”
“I don’t think it’s anything like that. Chinu doesn’t talk like Baku, and I don’t know if that’s true, but I think it’s possible.”
“Then that’s good. I’ll tell you—”
Monika patted Baku lightly, then stroked Chinu’s fur.
“Be careful with your meals.”
“I’m holding back! I’m holding back!”
Really, could she please stop talking to Baku so normally? Tobi swallowed the words that came up to his throat. It would be foolish to not be careful. There were quite a few other students in the courtyard, but no one seemed to care about Tobi. Haizaki, who was wandering around the parking lot saying, “well,” seemed fine to ignore.
“Baku is amazing.”
After being praised by Monika, Baku easily changed his mood.
“Heheh. Right.”
“It’s amazing that you have-self control.”
“That’s right. I’m amazing. I know that! If anything, you can worship me. Come one, Tobi. Praise me.”
“No way…”
“Ehehe.”
Ryuuko turned her face to Baku and put her hands together. Baku, who was proudly laughing, “Mafufu-” was a little irritating, and Tobi, who was carrying the backpack, can’t help but feel like he was being praised. He really wanted it to stop.
“However—”
Monika crossed her legs and slowly shook her head.
“The more you eat, the more you might lose control.”
“Huh! Don’t lump me in with those other guys. I’m the one who can endure the unbearable.”
“I hope so.”
“Since I’ve been patient for this long, let me eat a little bit as a reward!”
“You know what happens to the master when you eat zingai, right?”
Monika made a serious face and lowered her voice.
“Kon Chiami. Masaki Shuuji. It was Baku who at those two’s zingai, wasn’t it?”
“Wh-Why…”
Ryuuko tightly hugged the pochette that seemed like Chinu would pop out of at any moment.
“Th-That thing, how do you know about it?”
“Because that’s what I’m looking for.”
“Is that your answer?”
Monika didn’t flinch at all when Tobi asked the question.
“This school has too many recurrences.”
She didn’t answer the question. She diverted the conversation right away. But he couldn’t help but listen because she said things he couldn’t ignore.
“Puberty is rather dangerous. There are secondary sexual characteristics, and recurrences occur relatively easily during the period from childhood to adulthood. Even so, there are too many. If they recur, it wouldn’t be strange for some of them to cause trouble.”
In other words, what did Monika want to say?
“...Is there a cause? Something that could cause a recurrence?”
“I wonder, I’m glaring.”
“You want to find it, right?”
Ryuuko’s breathing became rushed. He wished she didn’t worry like that so much.
“Is there something? Something like a commonality for those who recurred?”
“I can see the data that the school has.”
Monika whispered something slightly dangerous.
“Data, like the IT systems’s…?
Maybe Ryuuko didn’t quite understand what she was saying.
“Well, when you say it ‘IT', you mean IT. Something like storing it on the school’s server.”
When Monika mentioned words like ‘server’ and ‘storage,’ Ryuuko finally turned her head away.
“H-how did you do that?”
“That? It's a connection.”
“M-maybe Monika is… an acquaintance of the school chairman?”
Perhaps because she was upset, Ryuuko said something strange. Tobi sighed.
“There’s no such thing as a chairman. It’s a public school.”
“Is that so…”
“If there’s as much information as the school has, it's probably possible to extract it.”
Monika said again. So, why? How? As for Tobi, that’s what he wanted to know. He felt like it was better to not know. Somehow it smelled criminal.
Or was it the other way around?
Police, for example, can see personal information as part of an investigation. Could Asahi Monika, a second-year junior high school student, be a police officer? There was no way.
“But what do you think?”
Monika folded her arms.
“Even if I try, I personally don’t have high hopes for it. Do you want to do the legwork and find out the classic way? People who have recurred can usually be understood by watching them, and personal interviews.”
“I’m not good at that.”
When Tobi reflexively said that, Monika laughed through her nose.
“Is that right? Same here.”
“I like talking to people, and I wonder if there’s anything I can’t do!”
Ryuuko puts too much effort into everything.
“Are you okay? O-Ryuu…”
It seemed that Baku was just as worried as Tobi.
“Of course I’m okay!”
Immediately after Ryuuko said it matter-of-factly, she suddenly became upset. She was a busy person.
“...Sometimes, how can I say it, I’m a little bit drawn to it? I know sometimes that happens. As a practical matter, it might be a little difficult if you’re dealing with someone you don’t know…”
“At least, should you narrow it down?”
Monika put her chin on her lap and groaned, “hnn.”
“I’ll think about it.”
“Please do!”
What feeling is drawing Ryuuko in? Isn’t there something drawing her in? Tobi thought about that, but didn’t say it. He was not in the right place to say something grandiose.
Tobi seems to have been disliked by Asamiya for some reason. Did he do something to Asamiya to make him angry? No matter how much he thought about it, he didn’t know. Did he unconsciously say something offensive? Did he act selfishly and make him withdraw?
Ryuuko was fully aware that she sometimes made others comfortable with her. Much easier than Tobi.
“It would be much easier if I could just eat whatever I can find and solve this.”
When Baku grumbled, Monika made an X with both index fingers.
“That’s not a joke, it’s dangerous. There seem to have been cases where they got out of control after eating so much that they even ate their master.”
“Huh…? Eat the master? If it were me, would that be… Tobi?”
“It seems to be super rare, and I don’t know much about it.”
“Heh! This me is going to eat Tobi. Isn’t that unlikely?”
“...If I look so delicious, why don’t you eat me?”
“Idiot! No matter what, I wouldn’t eat my buddy.”
Tobi believed Baku without reason.
On the other hand, he also thought so.
Appetite would not be the reason.
+++ + ++++
The lunch break was about to end, so when they left the courtyard, Ryuuko started to lag behind, and the distance between her and Monika increased.
“Ah… well, I…”
Ryuuko seemed embarrassed to speak, but Monika was open minded.
“I’m going to pick some flowers.”
Tobi didn’t know how to respond, so for the time being, he nodded as if he understood. She left them behind and hurried on.
“By the way, picking flowers is just that, Tobi ah—”
Tobi tugged on Baku’s strap to shut him up. He knew that much.
When he was about to enter the class 2-3 classroom, Asamiya was squatting with his back against the wall in the corridor. He was fiddling with his smartphone. Should he not interfere? Maybe he hates him.
In the past, Tobi would never have thought of approaching Asamiya in the same situation as now. To begin with, if it was Tobi before, he wouldn’t have had a relationship where he would talk to Asamiya.
Tobi took a deep breath. It took a lot of courage.
“Asamiya.”
As he approached, Asamiya hurriedly put his smartphone in his pocket.
“...Ah, Otogiri.”
Asamiya stood up and made a smirk while touching his bangs. He had a rather awkward smile. He didn’t get the impression he was being rejected though. Tobi was surprisingly relieved. It even felt like his heart had been pounding.
Alright, Tobi thought.
Am I glad, me?
“What? What’s wrong?”
Asamiya was still pinching his bangs and running them through his fingers. He was a little red in his checks. What was wrong with him? Honestly, he couldn’t tell. He just wanted to chat. Probably not that. He just wanted to see if he was really hated by Asamiya.
“No, it’s not—”
But I can’t ask him if he doesn’t like me.
Somehow, I feel like he doesn’t hate me.
Tobi suddenly couldn’t look straight at Asamiya’s face. For some reason, he felt strangely embarrassed, and naturally lowered his gaze. He looked around at Asamiya’s neck and he noticed.
“It’s not…”
Tobi repeated. It’s not?
Where?
“Oi, no way…”
Baku was dismayed and trembled slightly.
“Hmm?”
Asamiya frowned slightly. He was suspicious. It would seem so. Tobi pretended to be calm. Was he able to pretend? He hadn’t been able to. He was clearly failing.
He wouldn’t know unless he looked closely. A thin, string-like, tape-like, or belt-like thing was wrapped around Asamiya’s neck.
It was transparent. The skin was transparent. There were a few bright colors.
It was not a type of accessory.
Because it was moving.
It was wriggling, just a little bit.
Rather than string, tape, or a belt, it was a snake.
A translucent snake was entwined around Asamiya’s neck and was tightening around it. Or was it just looking for the right place to be?
“It’s not.”
Tobi made a clumsy smile.
“It’s nothing.”
“...Oh. That so?”
Asamiya made an unsatisfied face. But he said nothing more. Tobi entered the classroom with Asamiya, but he was barely able to speak. He was in no way able to speak. That semi-transparent string, tape, or belt-like, snake-like thing.
Apparently he didn’t notice.
It looked at Tobi.
A zingai.
Asamiya had recurred.
+++ + ++++
After school, Tobi exchanged glances with Ryuuko and Monika, and the three of them surrounded Asamiya at once. They had a secret meeting beforehand. It was good to just follow the steps.
“Ehh? Eh? What? Ehh..?”
Asamiya must have been very surprised. He looked at Tobi as he called for help. He felt sorry for him, but he had a reason.
“Asamiya, umm… Uhh, what is it… that…”
He should have decided what to say, but for some reason it wouldn’t come out.
“Tobi-...”
His backpack was dumbfounded.
“Asamiya-kun!”
Ryuuko grabbed Asamiya’s arm. Asamiya was quick. Without hesitation, he shook Ryuuko’s hand away.
“Wh-What are you doing, all of a sudden!”
“Asamiya, umm, co-cooperation—”
Tobi managed to coax the words out of his head.
“There’s something we want you to cooperate with. With you. Well… if not, even so…”
“...Me?”
“Yeah.”
“We mean.”
Monika looked up at Asamiya with her upturned eyes. She looked a little scary.
“Even if you don’t like it, please cooperate.”
“...That’s pushy.”
“Understood. I don’t know what I can do. I’m free anyway…”
+++ + ++++
Just in case, they would surround Asamiya, block his escape route, and ask for his cooperation. In fact, that was all they had discussed and decided. It wasn’t just Tobi, Ryuuko didn’t seem to think about after that. But it seemed Monika had a plan in advance.
Tobi and the others were led by Monika to walk ten minutes or so from school to the biggest supermarket around there. Monika ordered Ryuuko to reserve them some seats at the food court, so she took Tobi to a hamburger and ordered four sets with drinks and fries. Tobi had two trays with two sets each. When he went to their seats, Ryuuko and Asamiya were sitting there waiting.
“My treat.”
Monika nudged her chin, saying, “There.” However, it was Monika who paid for four people. Moreover, Monika chose the expensive ones from the menu. Tobi meekly placed the tray on the table.
“It’s a big cheese tomato burger set, and all the drinks are melon soda, but there’s no problem right?”
Monika sat her down on the chair next to Asamiya and crossed her legs. Tobi sat next to Ryuuko.
“H-h-h-how extravagant…”
Ryuuko’s eyes changed into big circles.
“...Is that okay?”
Was Asamiya embarrassed or was he apologizing? Was it both?
“I need your cooperation.”
Monika said calmly.
“Because I have economic power.”
It was a line that doesn’t easily come from the mouth of a second year junior high student. Asamiya looked at Tobi. With his eyes, he asked if it was really okay being treated like this. How should he answer? Tobi didn’t even know that.
“Let’s eat~”
Monika quickly unwrapped a big cheese tomato burger and suddenly opened her mouth wide and bit into it.
“---It’s delicious.”
“Kah…!”
Baku cried. Was he inspired by Monika’s eating habits? Baku’s appetite should be different from hers. Tobi was getting impatient too.
“This is my first time having a hamburger… Melon soda too…!”
Ryuuko was trembling.
“Really?”
Monika had already eaten half of her hamburger with her second bite. She grinned and gave a thumbs up.
“Try it. It’s the best.”
“Th-Then, excuse me…”
Ryuuko carefully unwrapped it, closed her eyes, and nibbled at the hamburger.
“Hnn…!”
She bit it.
“Mm! Mm! Mmmm…!”
Her eyelids quivered every time she made an inarticulate sound with his mouth closed. Funny.
“...Fine. I’ll take it. I can’t stand it.”
Asamiya also started eating. It looked very good.
“Tobi, you too, hey!”
He couldn’t stand it anymore, even if it was instigated by Baku. Why was he so patient to begin with? Unsure of himself, Tobi unwrapped the hamburger and grunted ceaselessly. Oh, he almost let out a voice. Tobi closed his mouth and eyes tightly and moved his jaw. The taste of bread, hamburger, lettuce, cheese, ketchup, pickles, peppers, and more all harmoniously combined made his brain numb.
“...What’s this?”
The taste was violent. It attacks and knocks down the people who eat it.
“What’s going on!?”
Baku asked. Only this one word came out.
“Delicious.”
After that, Tobi concentrated on eating. The big cheese tomato burgers and french fries quickly filled the junior high students’ stomachs. Tobi, Monika, and Asamiya drank up the melon soda. Only Ryuuko drank sips. She seemed to like soft drinks, but since they were too stimulating, she doesn’t seem to be good with them.
“---So, cooperation? What should I do?”
Asamiya said as he folded the crumpled wrapping paper. He seemed to be doing it unconsciously, He wondered if it was a habit.
“Has anything changed recently?” Monika asked, and Asamiya stopped. He hung his head and twisted his mouth.
“...Something strange, huh? There are so many.”
“That right…?”
Tobi was quietly staring at Asamiya’s neck. A thin cord, tape, belt, or translucent snake-like zingai was tightening around its master’s neck. It may just look like that. In the first place, would a zingai hurt or torment its master? Would Baku to Tobi? Would Chinuraasha to Ryuuko? He couldn’t imagine.
“That’s… well, there are things like Kon and Masaki, but Miyu’s the first.” Asamiya rephrased. “Takatomo’s.”
“...Those things, I guess. For me. We were childhood friends. In the end, I still don’t really understand the cause. I myself… feel like I’m different from before. Like this. If I say this, people might think I’m weird, but… I’ve heard strange voices in my head, though I don’t have them anymore. After all, I’m weird…”
Tobi knew. That voice was from Masaki Shuuji’s outsider. Masaki’s zingai had an effect on the mental state of others by having them hear voices. So, at least in that regard, Asamiya wasn’t weird at all.
“What I want to ask is more recent.”
Monika’s tone was detached, and it somehow annoyed him. Just a little longer, Tobi thought. Like being kind. Didn’t she take care of you? She splurged, though. A set of big cheese tomato burgers. They were good.
“For example, not before I transferred, but after. What happened?”
“Something—”
Asamiya tightly grasped the wrapping paper that had been folded halfway and rolled it up.
“That’s right, ignoring the fact that you transferred from another school, right?”
“Of course.”
“...Come to think of it, it is weird.”
Asamiya put the scraps of paper on the tray and took his smartphone out of his pocket.”
“This app, on its own. It’s an SNS. I don’t remember installing it. But it downloaded on its own.”
“Are you using that app?”
Ryuuko raised her eyebrows and asked.
“I thought it was suspicious, but…”
Asamiya took out his smartphone, but he turned the display downwards. He seemed to be wondering whether to show it or not.
“You can delete it right away. If you don’t log in for a day, your account will be deleted. So, I tried using it somehow…”
“What app?”
When Monika rested her hand on her cheek and asked, Asamiya replied “Hapieva.”
“It’s called Happy Ever After. Even if I search for it, it doesn’t come up. I guess I installed it somewhere…”
Monika said “let me see,” but she quickly snatched the smartphone from Asamiya’s hand. She worked fast.
“---Ah!”
“Authenticate your fingerprint.”
Monika held Asamiya’s smartphone up to his nose.
“...There’s personal information.”
Asamiya reluctantly pressed his thumb against the smartphone. The lock was released and the screen was displayed.
“I don’t want you to read what I wrote, but…”
“It’s okay. I have no interest in your private life.”
Monika operated Asamiya’s smartphone.
“This? Hapieva.”
She tried to tap the icon with her index finger. She was on the verge of it. Suddenly, Asamiya tried to take back the smartphone from Monika.
“On second thoughts, stop it!”
“Hey, wai—”
Monika quickly twisted herself to dodge Asamiya’s hands. But Asamiya didn’t give up.
“They’re complaining about things, and all the Hapieva guys are anonymous, so that's okay, but if their classmates find out, they’ll be ashamed and can’t live! Give it back…!”
Ryuuko said something like, “A…” Did she try to call Asamiya’s name? Monika’s reflexes were amazing as she kept dodging Asamiya’s hands in rapid succession. Did hhe find it impressive?
“Give it back! Give it back! Seriously, give it back!”
Did he think that if things continued like this, she wouldn’t be able to figure it out, or did he finally lose his temper? Asamiya grabbed Monika’s hair and pulled.
“---Ow…”
“Asamiya!”
Unacceptable. Tobi got up from his chair and tried to break in between the two. He wanted to. But he could not. It was baffling.
“Ha…”
He suddenly couldn’t breathe. What? Why? My neck. Tobi felt his own neck with his right hand. Baku and Ryuuko shouted at the same time.
“Tobi-!” “Tobi….!?”
Something. There was something. It was wrapped around his neck. Actually, he could see it for a moment. What did Tobi see? Something thin. That’s it. Asamiya. It was not on Asamiya’s neck. He couldn’t find it. The translucent zingai like a snake or a string. It was there. On Tobi’s neck. The translucent zingai instantly left Asamiya. And it was strangling Tobi.
“N….h….”
It was pretty hard to breathe, but it wasn’t so much that he couldn’t breathe at all. Maybe he wouldn’t suffocate right away. Tobi tried to stop Asamiya. However, before that happened, Asamiya took back the smartphone from Monika.
“No. I need this. You can’t have it. It’s my support. You don’t know how I feel. Laugh. It’s funny. Just laugh. Laugh. I need it.”
It was not funny. Crazy. The state of Asamiya.
“....Kah….”
Tobi tried to shake off the translucent snake zingai. His fingers got caught. But he couldn’t pull it off. The translucent zingai’s force was strong. It’s a little bigger, or rather, it’s gotten fatter.
“T-T-T-Tobi…”
Ryuuko was still sitting on her chair, moving her left and right hands like she was doing a pantomime. Should he say that Monika is right? She was watching how Tobi and Asamiya were doing.
“Shit, Tobi…!”
Baku went on a rampage. He wanted to eat. He would eat it. Baku intended to eat Asamiya’s translucent zingai. To protect Tobi. Protect. I see. Tobi hugged Baku.
“Like I said, it’s fine—”
The same goes for this translucent zingai.
He tried to protect Asamiya.
“Calm down, Asamiya.”
Asamiya clutched his smartphone with both hands and trembled. This food court must have a strange atmosphere. But he couldn’t afford to worry about that. What Tobi could do right now was to do his best to talk to Asamiya as normally as possible and get him to understand.
“Well, I don’t know what that SNS is. I won’t do anything forcibly.”
“I-I don’t believe you!”
“...That’s okay, even if you don't believe me, that’s fine. But I won’t do that— I won’t let you do that again.”
His voice sounded fine. He couldn’t breathe. How was he talking? Tobi himself was strange.
“You can go home… Take your smartphone. I won’t take it. If you want to do that, t-that’s fine. It’s fine to go…”
Tobi didn’t really understand what kind of expression Asamiya was making. Asamiya had long bangs. They usually hid his face quite well. He didn’t want people to see his face, so maybe he was trying to hide it. He didn’t know what he was feeling, but Tobi felt like he understood.
“...Wrong.”
It was tears. Asamiya was about to cry.
Tobi was able to breathe. The strength of the transparent zingai that had been strangling Tobi’s neck loosened.
“It’s not like… I want to go home. I don’t want to go home like this…”
The semi-transparent zingai slipped away from Tobi’s neck, going down his chest, stomach, and right leg. Since it didn’t have anything that looked like a head, it looked like a translucent moving string. However, it slid across the floor and climbed up Asamiya’s body, fitting snugly around his neck. It stayed close to Asamiya and tried to protect him in case of emergency. It was the same as Baku was to Tobi.
“Actually, I was happy.”
Asamiya sat down in his chair.
“If I can be of help, I want to be. It’s rare that someone relies on me. Besides, I talk to Otogiri and things like that these days. So, how do I say…”
Monika held out her hand without looking at Asamiya.
“Let me look into it. If you give me permission, I’d like to ask a specialized organization to analyze that app called Hapieva. Also, this is a general theory, but you absolutely must not touch such a suspicious SNS. Any information will be taken out. Do you get that?”
“...That kind of attitude. I don’t know.”
While complaining about her, Asamiya placed his smartphone in Monika’s hand.
“Eh, a specialized organization? Does Asahi have an acquaintance on her hands?”
“Acquaintance?”
Monika changed the angle of her hand holding the smartphone and tilted her head.
“I wonder if it’s different from acquaintances. You’ll meet them later. Your parents will also be present.”
“My parents?”
“We’re junior high students. Legally, we’re incompetent. You can’t take legal responsibility on your own. That’s why we desperately need an adult. It can’t be helped.”
“Asahi, you know how difficult that is?”
“Anyway, I’ll explain everything properly later.”
Monika then looked at Tobi and Ryuuko in turn.
“It’s a good opportunity, and I’ll get you guys to meet soon. I’ll teach you what I can do. It’s different from that Oji-san.”
Tobi exchanged eye contact with Ryuuko. ‘From that Oji-san.’ Monika called Haizaki ‘Oji-san.’ It’s different from Haizaki. What does that mean?

1, 2, 3, 6, 10, 12, 16, 20, 23, 24 & 27 for Kōki Furihata - feel free to choose just a few from these if you feel these are too much 😊
nah man imma answer them allll thank you for sending your ask!! <3<3
1 - My first impression of them - … I thought he was shallow… HE JOINS A TEAM WITH AMBITIONS TO BE THE BEST BECAUSE OF A WEAK ASS GOAL “a girl said she would date me if I was the best in something lol” !! BOY!!
2 - When I think I truly started to like them (or dislike them, if you've sent me a character I don't like) - I think I finally warmed up to him when he and the other first years said that they wanted to play on the court too, so that’s around?? The streetball tournament? And then we get to know him more during winter cup and he is hella relatable
3 - A song(s) that reminds me of them -
Hercules by Sara Bareilles, i’ve been obsessed with this since I first heard it over a year, it encapsulates the core emotional drive behind Kouki in my greek wip, “‘cause I have sent for a hero from on my knees, make me a Hercules, I was meant to be a warrior please, make me a Hercules”
Mree’s cover of Face My Fears, it just makes me imagine him walking up this huge staircase to the palace of the emperor preparing to do the unthinkable
Romantic by Lauryn Marie, Kouki is ouuuurrrr romantic
I also have this playlist I made full of songs that either remind me of him or songs I think he would listen to
6 - My least favorite ship of them - oh uh hmm I haven’t thought about this before uh let me pull up a character sheet fjdsklf (I’m not including teams unrelated to the GOM bc I literally don’t remember enough about them to say conclusively one way or the other if a ship would be bad or my new otp (veerryyyy unlikely that would happen but who knows) similarly with minor characters from GOM’s teams- besides seirin and rakuzan) okay, I entertained this for far longer than I should because Kouki is fairly similar to Yamaguchi from haikyuu however while Kouki has the ability for snark he isn’t mean like Yams. so Haizaki and Hanamiya are in the running for least favorite ships. Vibes alone, Hyuuga and Kouki don’t mesh well. Tsuchida has a girlfriend so he’s out. And lastly, I think Kouki is too nice and considerate to be a compelling ship with Midorima. He needs someone who will push him beyond his boundaries and Kouki wouldn’t do that. And that’s what I’ll say on that jfdsakljf
Sidenote: I unexpectedly like the rivalry that could crop up between Kouki and Sakurai in their third year bc I think they would be interesting parallels
10 - Describe the character in one sentence - Unassuming man doesn’t know how beautiful and kind he is in this cruel world.
12 - Sexuality hc! Bi bi bi bi bi bi bi bi bi bi bi bi bi bi bi bi bi bi bi bi bi bi bi bib ib ib ib bibibibibi
16 - A childhood headcanon - Kouki wanted to be a mangaka when he was a kid, he read all the shonen jumps as soon as they came out and had dreams of making the next big manga. He even made some prototype manga chapters full of wobbly characters and overdrawn colors and misspelled words that his mother proudly kept and eagerly plans to show his partner (coughAkashicough) when they come to visit
20 - A weird headcanon - He picks and tears at his fingernails instead of clipping them. It’s half out of nerves and half out of boredom
23 - Future headcanon - Besides him being the captain their 3rd year- When he has a stable job he updates his wardrobe, little known fact, Kouki is very fashionable, so he likes to be on top of fashion trends (cough and when he gets with a certain rich redhead he takes full advantage of their gift giving love language and his little black credit card for certain expensive brands cough) I also think that during the pandemic shut down he went a little crazy trying new recipes and his kitchen was an utter mess with no less than 3 failed dough starters spread across his countertops
24 - What do you think is a secret they have that they never told anyone? - He deeply enjoys all of the soapy romance dramas his mother watches. He’ll enter the living room on the dot of eight and put up a farce of “what is this? The emperor’s love? Guess I’ll watch this with you… if you insist” His whole family has picked up on this and besides some gentle ribbing from his elder brother, no one blinks an eye. His mother records the episodes now in case his practice runs late. When the girls in his class talk about the shows he has to physically restrain himself from commenting thinking everyone will think its weird that a guy likes those sappy shows (he doesn’t know that being able to share and relate with the girls about something will make him more liked though)
27 - If they could meet a character from another show/movie/etc, who would be the most fun for them to meet? - is it a cop out answer to say thomas the tank engine? I think he and Yamaguchi would be good friends

Not me fawning over that baby milestones you did. I didn't think the dad shit could get cuter bro lmaoo.
If you have time/inspiration, could you do one for the knb bad boys? Haizaki, hanamiya, Nash, imayoshi etc? I know there's more, I just can't remember names right now ugh 😒
Basically we need more happy domestic dad things in this world. Or this fandom
their kid gets in trouble at school
a/n: omg knb bad boys let’s gooooo !! i’m going to write about when they get in trouble at school >:) also i’m very sorry, i don’t think i’ll write for jabberwocks i really don’t like them >-< pls forgive
warnings: none, haizaki has morals here lol
ft. hanamiya makoto, imayoshi shoichi, haizaki shogo
Tumblr media
HANAMIYA tries to contain his laugh after you got a call from your son’s school for cheating on a test that was worth a lot for his elementary grade. you furrow your eyebrows at your husband, “makoto, this is serious! he could’ve gotten in big trouble— don’t forget about what you did in high school.” you and hanamiya were both very different; being the studious one in the relationship, you helped him a lot during high school and college. “yeah yeah.” he replied. once you both picked up your son, you three stayed in the parking lot for a bit. “listen maki,” you looked at him through the rear mirror. “i don’t want this to happen again, okay? if you need help studying, you can ask mommy or daddy.” he frowned and looked down, swinging his feet that couldn’t even touch the floor. “but daddy said i could use my resources if i don’t know. why do we need to study if it’s right there.” you side eyed your husband, “i understand baby, but it’s not right.” he sighed, “i’m sorry mommy.” you turned to your husband, “and you,” you squinted, “we are definitely chatting when we get home.”
IMAYOSHI speeds his way to your daughter’s school after getting a call that she called another girl a bitch. as he drove, he had you on speaker, and you weren’t having it either. “where on earth did she learn that word? do i need to go over there?” you said. he replied with a no, assuring you he’s got the issue in his hands. “i need to go back, you better tell me what happened after, love you.” before he could say it back, you hung up and he just arrived at the school, nervous to face the principal and your child. “mr. imayoshi? take a seat.” the principal gestured to the chair beside your daughter. “shiro here has called another girl the b word, and i would like to ask to make sure she’s taught to never use such vulgar language again.” shiro pouted, “but dad! that girl told me that basketball was for boys and then told me that i was ugly because i didn’t like makeup! that’s not even fair, and then more girls laughed at me. they can’t beat me in basketball even if they tried, so i called her.. that.” imayoshi’s eyes widened and bursted out laughing, ruffling shiro’s hair. “mr. imayoshi! this behaviour is not tolerable!” imayoshi then glared at the principle, “if calling my daughter ugly for liking something that isn’t deemed as girly is tolerable but her retaliating isn’t, then we’re done here.” he softly took shiro’s hand and led her outside, kneeling in front of her once they were both out. “i want you to know that you look the prettiest in the world,” he smiled, “and you shouldn’t let anyone tell you otherwise. you’re the coolest on the court, shiro.”
HAIZAKI knows what it’s like to not give a damn about anything. he knows he doesn’t have to care for others and hell, he always knew it was a waste of time— but that was until he met you. he was wild, monstrous, mean, but somehow you were able to tame him. so when he got a call saying that your son got into a fight, concern took over his mind— he knows what it’s like to struggle to fit in after having such a reputation; he didn’t want your son to go through the same. when he got to the school, he was surprised to see you there already. “they called you too?” you asked, hugging him. “mhm, that brat.” he mumbled into your hair. you chuckled, “that brat is your child, i don’t know why you’re so surprised.” when you both entered, your son was already sitting at the entrance, things gathered in the ground next to him and his teacher standing right beside. “shoyo!” you gasped, taking in the cuts and bruises on his arms. “what happened?” his teacher cleared her throat, “him and another classmate got into a physical fight over something they said.” haizaki furrowed his brows, “what did they say?” all of a sudden, shoyo cried, “t-they said! they said that my daddy was a criminal!” he sobbed, “and it’s not true! but he kept saying it!” you widened your eyes and looked at your husband, his state also in shock. shoyo kept crying, “it’s not true because he gives mommy so much love! he gives me love! he makes me breakfast, he showers me, he plays with me.. daddy is not mean at all..” you kneeled down in front of him, cradling him in your arms. “you’re right. daddy isn’t mean. he loves you and me so much,” you grabbed haizaki’s hand in reassurance, smiling up at him. “and i wouldn’t change anything at all.”

WAIT. THIS WAS SO CUTE. I LOVE DAD AU’s. HOPED YOU LIKED IT!!!

okok hc or fic: reader was teiko’s “head” manager(?) and her talent was being a medic (if someone gets injured they’re back on the court in under a minute type thing) and training plans. suddenly momoi’s talent blooms, she starts working w/ everyone in the team (+ reader’s crush akashi) and people think she’s a better manager than reader. because of this, she overworks + collapses in front of her best friends kuroko + kise (don’t let akashi know yet i have plans for that 👀)
HELLO? YES OFFICER? I JUST FOUND A BANGER REQUEST RIGHT HERE? YOUR BRAIN IS SO BIG AND SEXY IVE BEEN DYING TO WRITE THIS🏃🏻‍♀️💨 part 2 here and part 3 here AND update: part 4 here
Akashi x Reader
[Teiko!manager Headcanons]
you had a knack of being a natural chiropractor in loosening up tense muscles instantly (for more fluid play) or easily putting in back dislocated joints
basically you have crackhands
in your free time as a hobby and a job as the “head manager” (that Akashi announced to the team himself), you’d often bury yourself in anatomy studies and gym plans on the internet and databases to review over Akashi’s team training routines to see if they were effective and safe; oftentimes, you’d return back with improved plans, and as time went on, Akashi entrusted you with creating the plans yourself completely
you took on the job so eagerly to impress the Teiko captain, if you were being honest to yourself
your enthusiasm even inspires Momoi, Teiko’s other manager, to work harder
no one in Teiko knows physiology better than you, and as expected, it was also your best subject along with health
Kise often looks at you in horror and respect at how you don’t cringe/flinch at the loud cracks resonating across the room or court when players come to you for instant relief (the origin story of how he came to call you (y/n)-cchi was the very fact that you manage to put back his dislocated shoulder in 3 seconds flat one game)
when Kuroko first joined the 1st-string, he was a walking magnet for injuries, and you ended up being there for him every single time… nosebleeds? check. sprained ankle? check. nausea from over exhaustion? check.
both you and Kuroko relish in the fact that everyone in the team can never understand how the both of you do some incredible things with your hands
both of you being quite dexterous, you both often teach each other your specialties for fun; it’s almost shocking to see Kuroko effortlessly loosening up a stress knot and you pulling off a well-done palm pass
you admit, you do juggle a lot of responsibilities… from being a makeshift nurse, to a chiropractor, to a budget gym coach, and even to being moral support
Momoi often reminds you to take breaks being the caring person that she is
you often showed her the ropes and tricks of being a manager, on top of your duties, and you find it really endearing that she’s so earnest in learning from you
even if you enjoyed doing what you do, part of the massive workload is to try to get into Akashi’s good graces
talking to him about basketball duties is easier to achieve than talking to him outside of the extracurricular
you might be a tad bit insecure about it; after all, what middle schooler is already so accomplished in academics, sports, and everything you could think of? wasn’t he also studying to take over his father’s company??
to you, who only starred as Teiko’s humble manager, it felt hard trying to establish common ground for conversation outside of basketball
so you stuck to working hard at your position, hoping that your work ethic would get his attention one day; you were a firm believer of actions over words, so you hoped your actions would come off as genuine
picture you and Momoi running across campus with stacks of papers for the team… it makes most of the teammates’ hearts melt at the sight
your work certainly got you praises from other teammates, but out of all players, Kise was the one who figured out your motive
you felt absolutely morbid; to think that Kise, of all people, would figure you out like the back of his hand
Kise being sweet as he is, offers to help you get with the captain but you merely prompted to threaten to break his arm if he spilled your crush to anyone else
“(y/n)-cchi… I’ve been thinking.”
“Yes, Kise?”
“It’s really cool that you’re working so tirelessly for the team, but I can’t help but wonder if there’s a reason why you work so hard.”
“O-Of course I do! I want to see you guys all succeed!”
“Then I’m curious as to why you always look at Akashicchi—o-ow, ow, ow!! (y/n)-cchi, I’m sorry! So can you please let go of my—ow!”
“H-How did you know?!”
“I-It was as obvious as day, (y/n)-cchi! I’m pretty sure even Kurokocchi found out about this before I did!”
“N-No way!!”
“Tell you what, I’m super duper knowledgeable in this stuff! You can count on me for this sort of advice—OW!”
spoiler alert: Kise was right in that Kuroko definitely noticed your attraction to Akashi before anyone else… he just never brought it up to you
one day, Kuroko comes up to you to whisper:
“(y/n)-san, have you realized that Akashi-kun has been observing you recently during practice?”
“W-Wait! Is he looking over here right now?”
“Not that I think. He’s occupied with the coach right now.”
“D-Do you think this is a good sign?”
Kuroko gives you a small smile before he replies, “I would like to think so. Keep working hard, (y/n)-san.”
and you do, you’re constantly on top of your game for the next season until Momoi suddenly gets more recognition for her “precognitive defense” skills
her newfound talent was extraordinary and never-before-seen, and her ability became more critical to Teiko’s victories than your own skills
you were happy and proud for her, because after all, her achievements were extremely deserving to be praised
it’s only when some 1st-string players started making offhand comments about how you weren’t really needed in the 1st-string and was more suited to the lower strings that placed seeds of doubt into you
these people would often compare you to Momoi in how she improved much more despite you being in the team for longer
there’s also talk about how your skills are more useful for 2nd-string and 3rd-string players because Momoi’s ability is already sufficient enough for Teiko’s starters
after all, how would a player even be injured if they can predict their opponents’ moves to avoid such incidents?
there’s also the fact that Akashi has been calling Momoi more frequently to research on upcoming teams for analytical data because her talent has become very useful to ensuring victory
the same peers and adults who gave you praise were the same people who began to ignore you or dismiss you; that being said, the collective change in attitude is definitely subtle enough that it would fly under most people’s radars
Kuroko was the first to notice and defend you against a small group of players who were bold enough to badmouth you in the gym
Kise would find out a little later about the somewhat unpleasant gossip about you and would pull the “no you” reverse card, returning back with MEANER underhanded comments that would send these shit talkers CRYING HOME (manga Kise strikes here unexpectedly eh?)
Murasakibara is someone who would be slightly uncomfortable with the gossip about you, especially since you’ve always been so helpful and kind to the team and himself; he’d either leave the room himself or easily scare them away with his looming height and presence without saying a single word when he enters the room “minding his own business”
Midorima is a bystander judging from how he’s reacted to the Teiko dynamic changes in the actual show // he, of course, wouldn’t like the nasty talk about you but would actually mind his own business, choosing to focus on himself and what he has to do to contribute to his team; he assumes that you would work hard the same way he is and let your contributions do the talking
now Akashi surprisingly wouldn’t hear much of the gossip, since his presence alone SHUTS them up and commit to their practices like normal; after all, it’s very clear that Akashi doesn’t tolerate this type of behavior in the team (example: Haizaki), and it’s more apparent that he wouldn’t hesitate to drop kick them out especially since he has a soft spot for you (which Kise never fails to bring this up to you, but you think he’s reaching too much into it) // TLDR; the teammates mostly have the common sense to not utter anything bad about you… maybe one kid would slip out and get punished for “bad sportsmanship,” but Akashi merely assumes that it’s just one bad apple and not necessarily… the many others as well
Aomine???? bro he ain’t even at practice wdym (HELPPP LMAOO) // jokes aside, if he catches wind of players shit-talking outside of the gym… say at the convenience store or when he’s walking home or something, well… they wouldn’t have a good time…
Momoi simply chastises the gossipers when they try to talk shit on you to make Momoi herself look good, and it leaves? such? a? horrible? taste? like, she wants to believe that they’re just really poor jokes and not what they really believe in, and the teammates merely reassure her that they’re just bad jokes and that they “wouldn’t do it again;” poor Momoi wholeheartedly believes them
the weird talks about Momoi being “the better manager” just signalled to you that you haven’t contributed enough to the team yet, and it motivated you to work even harder
oddly, you weren’t jealous of the fact that Momoi was receiving more positive attention than you
you were more afraid of the fact that you were going to get left behind, and this fear only tightened its hold on you when more teammates (who used to talk to you a lot) have changed their tunes when they speak with you now, compared to them talking to Momoi
and you felt that the Generation of Miracles would do the same too… including Akashi
it wasn’t an irrational fear for you because he’s already been calling Momoi a lot more frequently for help than you recently
so you even offered to mop the gym floors after practice, offered to stay later than usual to be the one to lock up the gym for anyone (cough, Kuroko) who wanted to practice whenever they wanted
at one point, you even tried to do what Momoi does: researching on upcoming teams and making your own predictions (that didn’t really work, and that cost you a few nights’ worth of sleep every single time)
not to mention that you still had regular school like any other student? you were the epitome of a mess
Kuroko was with you in the empty gym, you putting away the extra basketballs in the storage closet while he practiced his dribbling, until he heard a crash in there and a few basketballs rolled out the door
you collapsed right when you rolled in the basketball cart
POOR KUROKO HE DOESN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO // he just tries to give you a piggyback ride as he abandons his plans of practice and tries to jog to the nearest local clinic
that’s where he bumped into Kise, who was heading home after an evening shoot when he saw the two of you
chaos ensue as Kise freaks out and Kuroko had to calm him down himself after answering the never-ending questions
at least the doctor there gave relieving news that you only collapsed from over-exhaustion and that the bruises from the fall were very faint
Kise makes a joke to Kuroko about, “What’s with you and (y/n)-cchi falling to the floor and fainting? You guys can’t be that alike.”
when you shortly regain consciousness, you were met with a… very stern Kuroko and Kise, who were both ready to hear your explanation and to scold you to oblivion
to your surprise, they were understanding; Kuroko understands the feeling of not being enough and working hard to meet other people’s expectations, and Kise understands the struggle of juggling multiple things in his schedule (come on, student, athlete, and model?)
they still scolded your ears off:
“(y/n)-san, you idiot. Why didn’t you ask anyone to help out?”
“That’s…”
“(y/n)-cchi, do you think we’re undependable?!”
“Er, no, that’s…”
you were still dizzy from the fall and the lack of proper sleep (and maybe nutrition if we’re being honest), and you were just a ball of stress
you kind of begged your best friends not to tell a SOUL to anyone about this incident, especially to Akashi… you didn’t want to look even more incapable in his eyes than you already were
they do agree on one condition: for you to take AT LEAST a day or two off school to completely recover and rest up (you reluctantly agree; besides how were you going to explain the bruises that can’t be covered to your peers?)
HELP WHY ARE KISE AND KUROKO THE BEST LIARS TOGETHER ON CAMPUS LITERALLY NO ONE SUSPECTS A THING… except Akashi, the ever sharp captain, felt something was amiss
especially since some Teiko players emanated a feeling of relief at the news of you not being here that day, or the next
Akashi would play detective sleuth and find out what’s really going on sooner or later
End Note: gonna cut this off here b/c I KNOW this anon got a juicy part two i FEEL IT

Headcanons for hazaki, hara and hanamiya as parents. Could I also get a headcanon for Haizaki's future job please? Thank you <3
[haizaki future job hcs on the next post]
Hara Kazuya
pity hara’s partner, rather than the kids, cause he’s the kind of parent that’s really just another child for his s/o to deal with
wants to be the cool dad but, more than that, wants to embarrass his children to hell beyond - he starts training himself in the art of dad jokes from the minute he finds out they’re going to be having a child
doesn’t really care about his children’s grades; hell he’ll probably give them tips on how to bunk, and back them up if his partner wants them to have a good attendance
the one thing he wouldn’t stand for is them getting bullied - partially he just wouldn’t understand how you could be so ‘weak’? (but if his kid becomes a bully, he’ll 100% defend them, saying that they’re just kids being kids, and all play involves a bit of rough and tumble)
the type of dad to tell his son to ‘get some’ upon finding out he’s started dating someone
also 100% the type of guy to teach his baby swear words, and then laugh his head off when said baby says fuck in front of its other parent (even though hara will get the cold shoulder for the rest of the day for being so irresponsible)
on the other hand, his children feel comfortable talking to him about stuff that they’d feel embarrassed telling his s/o, and it’s also very cute how far hara will go to entertain his kids
he’s the “puts kid in box in front of the TV and pretends they’re on a rollercoaster” father, the “dresses up as a princess whilst his daughter dresses up as prince charming when they go to watch a disney film at the cinema” father, the “nothing can convince him to go out of character when playing house with a 5 year old” father
he is loved and he loves :D
Hanamiya Makoto
the thing is, i think hanamiya would struggle with showing affection, especially as he is quite busy as an adult (following on with my headcanon that he ends up becoming a criminal defence lawyer) so doesn’t have much time for the kid when they’re young
in the end, they’ve got a pretty stiff relationship. hanamiya gets home late, sees his kid, says something like “how are you doing in school?”, kid says “fine”, hanamiya only later finds out from his partner just how well their kid did in a recent exam and how excited he was to tell his father
but it’s hella difficult being excited around hanamiya
(on the other hand, kid definitely adores their other parent, and is probably spoiled to hell by their grandmother. she’s also the one who understands that though hanamiya comes off as a cold uncaring father, he flicks through the family album she made - including all the pictures of events of the kid’s life that hanamiya didn’t have time to attend - when he thinks everyone's asleep)
hanamiya has very high expectations for them, just as he had for himself when he was younger
his kid has to get top grades, has to excel in whatever sport they choose (and if he hears them spewing “team work makes the dream work” bullshit-), definitely can’t be a loner or bullied
like hara, if his kid was a bully, he’d defend them
in that way, hanamiya’s a very toxic parent
his child gets so little recognition from him - their other parent is the one that shows up for parent teacher meetings and the school play and the like,
but, when the parents get requested to come to the school after hanamiya junior beats a classmate up, hanamiya takes a day off work to ‘represent his kid’
he criticises the school, the other child, and does literally everything to guarantee that his child faces no repercussions. and then, when they leave school for the time, it’s probably the first time in years that hanamiya tells his kid that he’s impressed by them
it’s basically the recipe for having a violent (albeit insecure) fuck like haizaki for a kid
Haizaki Shougo
sucks. worst fucking parent in the world
okay actually wait that’s a bit mean, let’s think about this
first off, the likelihood of haizaki sticking around if his partner’s pregnant without them having planned for it? fucking 1% max
likelihood of his sticking around after the baby is born, keeping him awake at night, leaving him having to deal with a permanently exhausted/stressed s/o who only now has realised just what a deadbeat their partner is? <10%
but let’s pretend, for whatever reason, that haizaki sticks around and doesn’t go get milk and never come back
he does try, is the thing
he lets his kid fiddle with his hair (even though it hurts like hell, and leaves him looking like a mess), he kicks around a ball with them or teaches them how to shoot, has a real big grin on his face when they throw their first punch
basically around the ages 4-7, haizaki’s kid and him have a pretty good relationship
the only problem is, as the kid gets older, their relationship gets a bit more awkward - especially if haizaki has a son, he’s gonna pass on all the toxic masculine beliefs that his older brother taught him
(on the other hand, he’s never going to let his older brother meet his kids. if they ever do meet, it’s gonna be in some dark alley, where the older haizaki bro’s like “oh so you’re shougo’s kids? hey, come closer, lemme have a look at you” and the kids are two seconds away from running away screaming)
also during puberty haizaki becomes very overprotective of his daughter and their relationship goes to shit
anyway he never shows up to parent teacher meetings, he stops going to the kids sport matches once they’re older than 11 cause it brings back unpleasant memories, etc
but he is very proud of them (or at least, proud of what they were when they were younger) and he’ll never stand to hear any slander against his kids
if you liked this post, you may also like
single dad hcs with haizaki, seto, and imayoshi
most to least protective of their kids

“Bro I’m telling you: The next person that walks outta my life, I’m gonna go with them! I’m sick of this ass as well!”
“That’s the fifth time you’re telling this…”
“What the hell are you trying to say, huh?!”
Sabito tried to jump at Haizaki, only to fail because of his friend Giichi’s attempt of stopping him. Makomo was sitting away from them, eating with the Flower and Insect Hashira. They could only sigh angrily at them but Makomo suddenly threw a pebble right at Sabito’s face and caused him to dramatically fell to the ground while holding his cheek.
“Well deserved! Good aiming, Makomo-chan!”
“WHAT WAS THAT FOR MAKO-CHAN?! I THOUGHT WE WERE FRIENDS!”
“We are, you idiot! But you’re forgetting where you are! We are at Oyakata-sama’s garden and she could hear you!”
Sabito and Haizaki immediatelly paled and got silent. The female Hashiras smirked in victory and continued to talk quietly.
“Do you think we should give Oyakata-sama some dangos? She loves them so I think that shouldn’t be a…”
Kanae  couldn’t finish her sentence when she saw that one of her fellow Hashiras, Iguro Obanai, walked through the Gates with dark circles under his eyes. It was obvious that he, and probably Mitsuri, couldn’t get enough sleep and he looked like he was about to crawl and sleep on the ground right then and there.
“ Iguro-san… You look terrible.”
“Thanks, Kocho. It’d be much better if you didn’t point out the obvious but yeah…”
Shinobu only laughed at her friends misery with his children while her sister was scolding her to not to say things like that to a new parent. Their tsuguko Toko offered some food to him but he rejected, saying that he had a little lunch with his family. One by one, every other Hashira and their tsugukos came to the meeting and you can guess what that meant: More chaos.
“How many people dumped you by now? Five? Or I dunno 10 maybe?” at Sanehiro’s loud laugh and his other friends laughing, a big angry mark appeared on Sabito’s face and he tugged at Sanehiro’s hair harshly.
“Look who’s talking! You can’t even confess to your crush you no-eyebrows!”
“HAR?! WHAT DID YOU JUST CALL ME, YOU PEACH?!”
Sanehiro’s hand was on his katana the second Sabito mentioned his crush on Kanae and was ready to pounce on him when a soft but half angry voice spoke out.
“Shinazugawa-san, please don’t forget that you are in the humble house of Oyakata-sama and think before you act.”
When Tenma heard his son’s voice, he immediatelly checked him since he knew that his mother was up all night. He then went to his side and pat his back.
“You look sleepless, Hakuji… Where were you last night?”
He scoffed and turned his head sideway. This way he wouldn’t have to look at his father’s face and face with his shame. Tenma looked at him sternly and softly grabbed his neck and turned his face towards his, looking at him with stern yet soft eyes.
“I’m your father, Hakuji. You don’t get to act like that. Your mother was up all night and she will probably want to talk to you. I don’t know what happened but know that we love and care for you.”
As soon as he learnt that his mom was up for him, another wave of guilt washed through him. I shouldn’t have reacted like that, I shouldn’t have said those words, she will hate me… While he was drowning himself with these thoughts, his father started to talk once more.
“The girls asked about you by the way. They were sad that you weren’t there for the breakfast but Ume being Ume, she cheered them up.”
At the mention of his little sisters, a genuine and soft smile graced his features, even though he was still feeling guilty. My little princess Mononokes, as he calls it since they love that movie a lot. Because he knew he made everyone worry, he apologized to his father and said that he will make it up to them by watching Studio Ghibli or Disney movies with them. Speaking of the devil, two of his sisters and his brother came in view and launched themselves onto his arms.
“NII-CHAN! WELCOME BACK!”
Everyone laughed at the kids’ excitement and Hakuji felt the heat on his face and ears but didn’t care or get embaressed, he just hugged them tightly to his chest and sat on the ground with them. After seeing his children were fine, Tenma went to chat with his fellow hashiras before his wife, Oyakata-sama, came. The girls were talking about their days and what they’ve done and suddenly( he doesn’t know how) the topic became his love life.
“Were you with Koyuki nee-chan, nii-chan? Can she come here and play with us?”
He sweat dropped at their question and wondered who told them but when he heard a snicker from the Serpent Hashira’s way, he turned his head towards him and mouthed “You bastard.” When he looked at his sisters again, he saw that they were waiting for his answer with big and hopeful eyes.
He heard his friends snicker a bit at his confused look at his sisters. Don’t get them wrong, they love their friend but making fun of those who had a significant other was a great fun for best friends. Considering he and Tenma were the only ones who had someone special for them, their only way to make fun of someone was with them.( They were far much scared of Obanai to make fun of him but Shinobu was an exception.)
“I... I’ll talk with her about it, princesses. Is that okay?”
“YAY! DON’T HIDE HER FOR YOURSELF NII-CHAN!”
The two girls kissed his cheeks happily while their brother was looking at them confused.
“Nii-chan is her uh boy…boyfriend. It’s normal he wants to spend time with her.”
“Boyfriend…?”
When they heard the uncertainity on Asumi’s features, Hakuji cocks an eyebrow as he watches her ponder on the word “boyfriend”. Why is it confusing to her? Oh God, Am I about to fight for my girlfriend’s attention like in the stories my friends told me to?
“What’s wrong, Asumi-chan? Is something wrong with your brother being her boyfriend?” asked Sumihiko. Asumi looked anxiously at her mother’s student and went to him. She whispered in his hear and as soon as she was done, Sumihiko was on the floor clutching his stomach. At his reaction, while everyone was busy looking at them as if they’ve grown another head, Yoshiteru, Toko and Kanata also came up to her to learn what’s all about Sumihiko laying down and wheezing like a chicken toy.
When the little girl told what she told Sumihiko shyly though, Toko only giggled and pat her head while Kanata was giving a soft yet apologetic eyes to her. She put her hair behind her ears with her little hands and hid behind her bangs, something quite rare for her. The pillars couldn’t stand the young ones’ fun and finally decided to ask them what’s going on.
“Child, what’s it that made them laugh so much? Don’t worry, nobody will make fun of you…”
At Gyomei’s gentle yet deep voice, Asumi gathered all of her courage and told them what she said… Only to cause another ruckus.
“In class, I heard a girl saying boys are gross and… Her nee-chan said boys are a waste of time. Then I heard Sinobu nee-chan saying boyfriends are just use-useless t-trashes and a co-com-complete waste of time…”
“Is nii-chan also a waste of time?”
With and angry scowl and and irk mark, Hakuji turned to the mentioned young woman, in hopes to see her guilt but he was left dumbfounded since he couldn’t see any and the only thing he was able to see was… Pride and utter joy in her eyes.
“That’s right, Asumi-chan! Look at her, she’s already a genius about boys even at this age!”
“Shinobu, you’re not helping!”
Tenma slapped his forehead and took his girl in his arms since she was madly blushing. He cannot argue with boys being gross... especially boys who tries to touch and play with her. One of the main reasons he doesn’t let that Yui kid play with her. She is his girl until she dies, no uh huh, no boys till she dies one day.
Kanae and Toko saw the distraught look on her face and their big sister/ Mama insticts went overdrive to reassure the little girl. Toiya was just done with his life and just wanted to go and take a little nap with his Mama but he had to wait for his little sisters, well Asumi to be exact.
“Don’t be sad, Asumi-sama! Not every boy is a waste of time!”
“That’s right, Asumi-chan! Boys who take care of the one they love, love and cherish their lover and spends time with them is the best thing!”
Asumi looked at their mesmerizing eyes and nodded her head a little and smiled shyly at them. Since she was occupied with looking at their eyes and complimenting them, she couldn’t hear her father’s grumbles of “BoYs wHo LoVe thEir lOver is The BeST tHiNg…”
Toiya realized that their meeting was about to start so he called out to his sisters so that they can go now. Three of them immediately came to him and held his hands, making him flustered since it was now obvious that he had a soft spot for them even though he always looked annoyed by their presence.
The Flower Hashira and her tsuguko awed at them and the Flame Hashira let out a boisterous laugh and a “What a beautiful sibling bond!” at them. While they were almost out of view, Asumi turned and asked her final question which made Toiya rethink every single nice thing he had thought about his sister.
“Kanae nee-chan… Does that mean To-chan is gonna be a waste of time? He hardly plays with us… I don’t think he’d play with his lov-lover.”
“Asumi… Can we please go so that I can show you how playfuI I can be?” asked Toiya with a slight irritation and went inside the house while every pillar was laughing uncontrollably. His sister was innocently asking what they are gonna be playing and he couldn’t help but wonder: How are we twins? Did I eat my true twin so they had to put someone else?
Every other male pillars were patting Tenma’s back, saying that he raised a bold and sassy girl and that they couldn’t wait to hear more of comebacks like this. And when he was about to answer them he heard the voice he loved: a very soft, elegant yet powerful voice.
“It’s good to see that my children are having a great time.”
Every Hashira and their tsugukos widened their eyes and knelt in front of her with respect as she was walking towards them. When she was finally in front of them, they saw that she wasn’t wearing her usual fox mask that was a present by her dear friend Urakodoki but a half mask that was covering her left side. She was wearing a turquois and dark blue kimono with floral designs and a red spider lily hairpin that was hanging from her ponytail. With her katana and weapons, she was standing tall and strong. Everybody was waiting for one of them to say their prayer and wishes but before anyone can do it, Shinobu spoke first.
“We eagerly pray for much happiness upon you and your family.”
“We find it most honorable to be in your presence, Oyakata-sama.”
When Shinobu spoke her kind words to Hana, she smiled in gratitude and looked at every Hashira and tsuguko present.
“Thank you, Shinobu. I also pray for every one of your health and safety.”
She looked at every one of her children’s face and when her eyes landed on Hakuji, he internally sweated a bit but before he was able to say something, his mother started to talk one more time.
“ It’s been a long time since we had a sunny day. I hope me, wanting to make the meeting outdoor didn’t cause any problems.”
“Never, Oyakata-sama! We are happy to be here!” At Kyojuro’s loud voice, she let out a slight laugh and covered her mouth a bit.
“I knew that letting the kids out first was a good idea. Since you all have a good aura, let’s start the meeting.” she concluded and sat down in front of them and thus, the meeting started.
“And this concludes our meeting for today. It’s already late so I don’t want to take anymore time of yours. Does any of you have questions about your missions?”
The sun was about to set and the sky was in every kind of orange and red hues, which made the leader of the Corps look even more ethereal. All of her swordsmen that was present in front of her shook their heads in admiration and some of them with a blush. Tenma looked at them with fire in his eyes, feeling possessive. Being amused at the look on her husband’s face, she smiled and then looked everyone of her children’s eyes and raised her right hand to her face in a curious manner while smirking at them and voiced her thoughts.
“You’re all remarkably well-behaved today… What happened this time?”
They all looked at her and then each other, as if asking who should tell her or if they should tell her. She saw that they were weighing everything in their heads and moving in their seats nervously. Seeing them fidget nervously made her knit her brows together and the only thought that crossed the tsugukos’ mind was “Oh no, we angered her!” since they weren’t used to be in a Hashira meeting. Before anybody can have a heart-attack, she straightened her posture and sat down cross-legged, inducing them to be not formal with her. But the young students were still hesitant so she sighed deeply and looked at them straight in the eye.
“From now on, the meeting is over. You don’t have to be formal, I just want to hear about your days.”
At their leader’s honey-like voice, they all sighed with relief and sat cross-legged like her. She smiled proudly at them and when she remembered her Mist Pillar’s children’s state, a worried look settled up on her face.
“Hikaru, I heard that your twins were sick… Is there anything I can help you with?”
At his leader’s genuine question, he bowed slightly in gratitude and looked at her with his own almost- identical red eyes.
“Thank you, Oyakata-sama. They are both fine, they had a high fever a few days ago but now they are recovering.”
“I wonder how Oyakata-sama always knows what’s going on with every slayer. Aren’t there like… thousands of us?”
Since the tsugukos were seated a little far from the Hashiras, Yoshiteru whisper yelled at Kanata who was trying so hard to not hit his head for the reason of him talking about their leader in a whispering tone while there were people around, yet alone her husband. Though he couldn’t disagree with his friend. It was as if she always knew what would happen the next, as if she has faced with similar things before and now is acting depending on her experiences. Her posture didn’t help as well. Considering that she looked identical to her father, Ubuyashiki Kiriya,( That they know since she would sometimes wear a half mask that covers her left side and they’d be able to see the other half of her face) and had experience more than anyone, the rumors about her being a msytic being was common even though she never denies her being a demon and had knowledge about almost everything for that reason.
Unknown to them, Akahana heard their little chat and smiled softly to herself since thanks to her husband, she had enhanced her hearing ability even more. Though, she didn’t say anything because Sanehiro was such a wild individual, especially to the young ones, that he would throw insults at them and could destroy their confidence as well. She couldn’t help but think: You’re like your great-grandparent,Sanehiro…
“I’m delighted to hear this, Hikaru. If you need anything, please don’t hesitate. Now, what’s all about Sabito and your teasing Shinobu?”
At her knowing smile, Sabito was only able to try and hide behind his haori while everyone else were stiffling their laughs. Though Tenma and Sanehiro didn’t even try to hide the truth and let out their laugh. She couldn’t help but smile at their happy faces, and started to think while looking at her husband. He really is pretty… Why did he even choose me? Anyways, It’s been a long time since I slept with them I guess I can go and touch hi- What the fuck am I thinking? Is this what teenagers call as “Horny”?.... Oh well, that’s a first.
She shook her head as a little red hue appeared on her cheeks. She secretly touched her right cheek and when she skimmed over her children, she caught her husband’s stare and he smirked to himself, seeing that his awkward and stoic wife was blushing while looking at him. She looked at her flustered student and moved closer to him. She didn’t realize him being more flustered because she was close to him, but Sabito was internally screaming when she put her hand on his shoulder.
“Your girlfriend dumped you again, right?”
“Oyakata-sama… please don’t give them any more reasons to make fun of me…”
She looked at him apologetically and pat his head while scolding the others for making fun of his failure of a love life. She comforted him as much as she can but her giggling wasn’t unheard and the only thing Sabito could do was praying for this torture to end.
Meanwhile Hakuji was happy that his mother was interacting with others and happy. He knew that they will have to talk, that he couldn’t escape his mother’s silent threats so he just leaned back and watched the others’ banter for now.
After a 30 minutes of having fun and almost choking on water, Akahana officially ended the meeting and chased them all out so that they can go back to their families. While the young slayers were almost out, she remembered the tsugukos’ little chat and called to Yoshiteru.
“Yoshiteru?”
At the leader’s sudden voice, he squeaked hard and clinged on his sister who deadpanned at him and tried to make him let her go, but it was in no-vain. After turning to her with quavering lips and teary eyes, she walked to them and pat his head.
“I know everything that’s going on with every one of my children, after all I have ears everywhere. “
At the end of her sentence, since her voice went deeper and raspier Yoshiteru got even more scared and wailed to go home and stumbled on his way to get out while Toko, Genya and Kanata all laughed awkwardly and bowed in front of her deeply. After she dismissed them, only she, Tenma and Hakuji were present. She turned to her husband and gave him a kiss from the cheek.
“Dear, go home before us and tell others that we’ll be late. I believe we have things to talk with Hakuji.”
After briefly looking at his son and giving his wife a kiss as well, he got out to let his other wives know about her and Hakuji.
She then turned to her son and extended her right arm for him to take and Hakuji walked to his mother and took her arm to lead her to their usual walking route.
“You love giving a little scare to Yoshiteru, right mom?”
She smiled at her son and nodded her head enthusiastically which made Hakuji smile as well.
“What can I say, I used to scare his father and great-grandfather as well. It was my only way of having fun at those days.”
She then started to tell her stories with previous Hashiras and how they used to be the victims of her sudden appearance and raspy voice. They were laughing while walking to their favourite food shop and after they bought their food and talked to the owner a bit, they went to a silent park, a place they’ve always been to since his childhood.
After watching and talking with the children there, little kids who admires her strength and power; they silently looked at the moon and ate their food. He was waiting for her to start the inevitable scolding, her anger, but what she said suprised him and made him look at her with teary eyes.
“Hakuji… Do you see yourself unworthy of my love?”

oh Kise?
oh worm??
Why I like them
I’m actually gaining a whole new appreciation for Kise these days; underneath the airy smiley surface he’s a really nuanced character, and every time I rewatch/reread KNB I notice something new about him. I love how his passion for basketball grew when he decided to devote himself to it, and how he’s inspired by Aomine and motivated by losing to Kuroko and Kagami, how he’s desperate to improve and play to the point of overwork and injuring himself, and still keeps going. He’s got a very satisfying arc when he learns to appreciate his team and respect his seniors, and I’ve learned to appreciate and respect him for it too.
Why I don’t
All that said... sometimes he can still be a little grating. He’s a little too superficial sometimes, especially dealing with his fangirls, and he seems to get the anime trope treatment disproportionately often compared to the other GoM. Much as his arc and motivations are well-written, I feel like they could be pushed just that little bit further to make him more compelling, but that’s honestly getting into nitpicks, he’s still a great character for what he ended up being.
Favorite episode (scene if movie)
This might not seem like a very important scene, compared to some of his others, but I just fuckin... love the restaurant scene after the first Seirin/Shuutoku game, where he sits at the same table as Kagami, Kuroko and Midorima, and talks about why they play basketball and how losing changes them. (Midorima looking at him and saying he’s changed “your eyes... they’re strange”, before realizing he’s actually gone back to how he was before the Teiko finals is... Important to me)
Favorite season/movie
Season three Kise can GET it. The ultimate glo up, he’s so awesome in the game against Haizaki’s team, and rematch against Seirin; I love Kasamatsu being like “go give them a greeting” and he just squares tf up it’s so badass. Side-note -- he’s also one of the only characters the Last Game treated well, after being considered “the worst of the bunch” he totally earned his moment to be the best, most powerful member of the GoM for a little while.
Favorite line
That moment in the Seirin/Kaijo game when he gets off the bench despite his coach’s disagreements and goes back into the game, because “I love this team”. I cry every time. “I liked being Kise of Kaijo” is a close runner-up.
Favorite outfit
Okay all his model outfits slap, but hear me out... season one when he shows up at Seirin and goes one-on-one with Kagami, still in his suit pants and shirt and he still kicks ass... iconic.
OTP
Um... so KiKasa or KiKuro seem like obvious choices, and they do have some great development... but I’m actually weaker to KagaKise I think. I don’t know why there’s something about their dynamic, they’re just such friendly rivals (by season 3 at least) and seem to bring out some really good things in each other (and I love the concept of Kagami being able to get Kise to loosen up and be more human, see Two if by Sea by tormalyne) their relationship is just so interesting to me. KiKuro is also up there but I think KagaKise beats them out by a hair.
Brotp
MidoKise. I have seen the light. I could also see them work as a romantic pairing, but the way they play off each other and banter is the Actual Best no matter the context I love these guys.
Head Canon
Kise strikes me as like, the worst enabler in existence. I feel like he shrugs off serious topics and plays things off as no big deal all the time, and he just does whatever he can to minimize discomfort and drama, if it means avoiding difficult conversations, or placating people with material things to get them off his case. He lets a lot of things slide and turns a blind eye when there might actually be something wrong, and it’s not very healthy how he constantly dodges people’s efforts to help him.
Unpopular opinion
Not really an unpopular opinion as much as a lack of understanding, but I just don’t... get AoKise. I mean I get it, but I don’t Get it, you know? Like they’re alright, they’ve got history and some chemistry and you all know I ship Aomine w literally everyone, but I just... still can’t get myself to see it as anything more than a casual fwb deal, or at best an unrequited love. I don’t see the compelling star-crossed romance other people seem to see, I don’t know why. (If anyone wants to try to convert me, I’m all ears, I’m mostly just perplexed by the popularity of this ship).
A wish
I sincerely wish Fujimaki had the balls to make Kise gay. Not as a device to set him up with people so my ships can be canon, far from it, I just think he’d be a much more compelling character if he was, and out of everyone in KNB (except maybe Mibuchi) he’s the one with the most pieces laid out. It’s right there, and it would add so much depth; having to put on a hetero performance for the sake of his modeling career, trying to differentiate between genuine admiration and attraction, worrying about not being accepted by the friends he’s been able to make if he were to come out... it’s just a shame we weren’t given that bc Fujimaki insists on having everyone but the caricatures be straight.
An oh-god-please-dont-ever-happen
I think the worst thing that could happen to Kise is for him to get bored with basketball. Because that will mean there probably isn’t anything he can get into that he won’t tire of eventually, and it leaves the rest of his future looking pretty bleak. I don’t know how likely it is to happen, but at his rate of improvement he very well might face an Aomine-esque spiral one day, and that is... a troubling thought.
5 words to best describe them
Bright. Flashy. Idyllic. Pursuant. Ravenous.
My nickname for them
Golden Boy. I also tend to call him a labrador retriever in my head, which, if you know the parallels I draw between him and Mr Peanutbutter...

I saw that the request box was open 👀 so I will ask a scenario with the GOM+Haizaiki during Teiko times who develops a sudden big crush for a girl they hated ( she felt the same for them) while in fact they could have been friends before and that they always had a sort of connexion but for childish reasons they started to become ennemies ?! Their feelings are so heavy and it's difficult for them ( the crush too) to admit, they don't know what to do! Hope you understand my idea 🥺 🥰thanks.
I’m not sure if I described the confusion in their feelings well enough but well, I tried! Hopefully it’s not as bad as I think but let me know~
The memories kept ringing in his head. How did it all start? When? He’s never realized how far it has gone, even though it started off innocent and small. But for some reason you became so mean to each other, every time he’d see you there would be exchanging gazes and making comments. And looking back, he had no idea why it’s like this. Other people must’ve thought there’s something heavy between you two, meanwhile he couldn’t even remember what was the reason in the first place. And you probably couldn’t either.
And as if it wasn’t enough, he began to think that maybe… just maybe, he has some kind of feelings for you. But how was he supposed to tell this to his enemy?
How childish.
“That’s it, I’m finally gonna end this today” the thoughts were there in his mind for the whole eye-opening night. Why has he never noticed what was going on? And would you, if he explains and apologizes? For some reason he still despised you, he really did, but seeing your smile directed at other people made his heart flutter.
Approaching you, he took a deep breath and noticed your glare. It’s going to be even more difficult than he thought, huh?
Kuroko: “Hi Y/N-san” he started off friendly, as if nothing has ever happened between you two. “Can I sit here?”
You slowly nodded and shrugged, glancing at him suspiciously from the corner of your eye. You focused back on your phone and tried to ignore Kuroko’s presence but the boy spoke up a minute later.
“Hey, I’m sorry for all this. I guess I really crossed the line a few times” his words made you roll your eyes. “But really, sorry. I don’t want to fight anymore”
“Oh” you let out, looking at Kuroko surprised and felt your mind give in noticing the small smile on his face.
“Can we do this?” he said, meeting your eyes. Can you? You really didn’t expect him to ask.
“I don’t know. Let’s just try, I guess. Though it’s gonna be weird” you noticed.
“But better” Kuroko replied, standing up.
True, you thought. Finally you were about to grow up and move on.
Kise: “Y/N” he spoke up, trying to seem casual and returning your gaze. His heart was so loud in his ears you could probably almost hear it too.
“What do you want?” your voice was harsh, not used to the tone he just pronounced your name with. Kise sighed deeply, reconsidering his decisions.
“Listen, let’s finally end this”
“What? Do you think I’m your girlfriend or something?” you asked with a fleer. He clenched his teeth.
“You can be if you want” he teased, regaining his confidence. He had no choice but to cover up his true mixed feelings with playfulness. What he didn’t expect though was your awkward expression.
“You’re being stupid now, you know that? Why are you even talking to me?” you glared again.
“Because I want us to stop fighting like children. I’m sorry, okay? Even if you don’t accept, I won’t be mean anymore. How about it?”
Your surprised face was enough of an answer. Finally, he did something well.
Midorima: “Look who’s here, Mr. Smartass” you mocked his expression as he fixed his glasses. First step was done, he approached you. But what now?
“I’m sorry”
“What?” you raised your brows, not believing your ears. “Excuse me?”
“I said I’m sorry. For acting so stupid for this whole time. I don’t know if you’d like it but let’s forget about all that and start again”
He became silent and watched as you kept glancing at him, speechless. Well, he’s already made a fool out of himself, right? So maybe it wouldn’t hurt to make it worse?
He reached out his hand, ready for you to shake it, which you slowly did, still very hesitant. Both of you were thinking the same – why didn’t you do this earlier?
“So what, do we just forget all the ugly situations? How is that even possible?”
Midorima looked you in the eyes and slightly shrugged.
“I don’t know. But we can try, right?”
Aomine: “Oi, Y/N” he exclaimed, poking your arm when you tried to ignore him approaching, making you flinch and send him an offended look.
“What?!”
“Let’s stop being stupid”
“Excuse me? Talk for yourself, idiot”
This whole situation made you so confused. Why did he approach you like that when all this time you’ve been avoiding each other? Any time you two found yourself in one room, it would end with a fight, both your personalities making it impossible to move on without a mean comment.
“I said” Aomine came even closer, looking down to meet your eyes. “Let’s stop being stupid. Don’t tell me you haven’t noticed how dumb we are with all this arguing”
You frowned at his words. In fact, you just recently started thinking the same. Your feelings towards Aomine were very mixed and being mean helped you cope with having a crush on him. But what now?
“Alright” you said slowly. “But if you start being a moron again, I won’t hold back”
Murasakibara: Approaching you, who has been so mean to him for the past months, was already a lot. He was acting like a child paying you back for this, now he could see that but still, weren’t you going to laugh at him for doing this?
Talking with his friends about it, he knew their opinions that encouraged him to at least try. But trying meant 50% chances that he’ll just make a fool out of himself. Was it worth it? Those weird feelings for you he noticed recently said yes.
Murasakibara came up to you standing alone and ignored your glare. You expected everything but not what happened next.
He plopped his big hand on top of your head.
“I forgive you”
“What the heck?!” you swatted it away and looked up at him, annoyed.
“I forgive you for being so mean to me. You won’t do this again, right? And I won’t be mean back to you so we can stop fighting”
What did he just say?
Akashi: He knew all along that his behavior was childish. He knew well that deep inside he wanted to be closer with you, get to know you more and at least once become the target of your beautiful smile you showed everyone but him. On the other hand, he knew you hated him. Or at least really, really didn’t like.
Seeing you alone, it became a great opportunity to finally change your relationship and stop fighting. That is, if you’d want it too.
“Y/N-san” he spoke up and you jumped up, hearing his unusual tone. Where did it come from?
“I’m deeply sorry for acting rude towards you for the past year. I know it’s not easy to forget but I just wanted you to know that I won’t be doing this anymore”
You were speechless, not expecting him to apologize. Looking at him, you noticed how genuine his gaze was and your heart skipped a beat.
“Well… I guess I can try?”
He smiled. Even small progress was fine.
Haizaki: “Don’t look at me like this, it’s creepy. You’re creepy” you said as soon as he approached you, not trusting his weird smile. What was he about to do and say this time?
He raised up his arms, implying he’s giving up.
“You won”
What? - you thought and said just that.
“I said that you won” he leaned over your ear and spoke louder, tapping your head. “Hello, is anyone home?” you swatted his hand away and glared.
“I heard you. But why did I win? For making you look stupid?”
“Not this time, honey” you cringed at the sarcastic name. “I’m done messing with you. Congrats”
“Huh?” his words made you confused but Haizaki just waved and left, leaving you alone with your thoughts.
Was he for real? No, he couldn’t be. It’s probably another prank. But is it? You looked at his back from a distance and wondered. If so, would you finally be able to make up? You really hoped so.

I know I already sent something, and I don't want to pressure you. If you have time- ♥ Aokise?????
Holy shit this prompt is just flawless for them
Aomine Daiki/Kise Ryouta + ♥: reacting to the other crying about something (There is a hint of Haizaki/Kise, but it’s more one-sided and just for the shits and giggles)
Haizaki was such a stupid prick.
Aomine guessed he wasn’t much different, because he was just dumb enough to agree to talk to him after practice. He hadn’t had too much expectations for whatever that asshole was going to say, neither did he know why it had to be him he was saying it to, but even guys like him could pose a surprise.
‘You know Kise Ryouta, right?’ Haizaki asked him. Both of them were leaning against the wall outside one of the indoors courts, both feeling way too manly to first make a way for the benches and admit to their wobbly knees, almost giving out from exhaustion. They were big kids, they could handle it.
Everyone knew Kise Ryouta. Even outside of the basketball club where he was famous for being a rookie with extraordinary talent and steadily climbing through the tiers, he was famous for being a model and an athlete with impressive skills in basically all genres of sport. As well as his pretty face and his ability to be a chick magnet - Aomine guessed that Haizaki didn’t mean “have you ever heard of him” by “knowing” Kise.
‘I guess.’ he shrugged noncommittally. They were friends, but it’s not like you just went ahead and carelessly shoved all of your cards in Haizaki’s face so he could abuse whatever he finds out about you. ‘Why?’
‘He’s cute.’ Haizaki deadpanned, and Aomine finally looked at him, blinking slowly. ‘And Valentine’s day is coming up. He looks like a sensitive dude, so I’d have no luck in just asking if he’s up for a lay, and I wondered if you knew what he liked.’
‘Wait. You’re serious?’ Aomine mumbled, his jaw somewhere on the floor, his words inarticulate for how his mouth was wide open in shock.
‘Are you making fun of me?!’
‘Dude, you’ve been going at his throat since day one.’ he said, irritated by his temper. Well... he guessed it made sense. Guys like Haizaki tended to bully the object of their desires; Aomine knew exactly how it was. It felt bad to admit, but he had an intimate knowledge of how guys like Haizaki were. Some would say first-hand. ‘Nevermind. I don’t know him terribly well, but there is something...’
‘Ryo-ta~’ Haizaki approached them the next day on the same benches they refused to take a seat on yesterday. Aomine, Kise, Momoi and Midorima were lazing around, waiting for the others to join them and eventually for practice to begin. Kise looked up, curious but wary, at the familiar drawl.
‘Haizaki-kun.’ he smiled in a tight and compressed way, and Aomine was immediately overtaken by a childish excitement. This better be good.
‘I have a surprise for you.’ Haizaki smiled back at him, wicked and not at all well-meaning. He just had this aura to him that he couldn’t shed, and it was perfectly lining up with Aomine’s plan. ‘Do you wanna close your eyes?’
‘Ah... o-of course.’ Kise stuttered, shutting his eyes and nervously clenching his fists by his side. Haizaki brought the hand he kept neatly tucked behind his back forward, placing its content on Kise’s shoulder. Aomine heard Momoi gasp from his other side.
‘You can open them now.’ Haizaki stepped back gingerly. Kise did, and the scene that unfolded after that was completely flawless down to the smallest detail. Kise jumped up from the bench, causing it to budge under Midorima, who up until then didn’t care to be occupied with whatever was happening, but now looked up from his book in shock. Haizaki’s cheerful expression fell, and Aomine swore he caught the exact moment when his dreams were shattered by a harmless but perfectly executed prank.
‘Take it off, take it off me!’ Kise whimpered, tears already prickling at his eyes, and Aomine quickly got to his feet to usher the small and lively earthworm from his shoulder into his palm, cradling it gently for a second and then stepping away to place it on the grass behind the bench.
‘I-is it off?’ Kise asked, his voice shaky and wet. He was sniffling constantly, still trembling from the shock.
‘Yeah, it’s off.’ Aomine said, suddenly feeling very guilty about the whole deal. The glare Haizaki was fixing him was utterly worth it, but making Kise cry - not so much. ‘C’mere, you. It’s okay.’ he mumbled, wrapping one arm around his shoulder and pulling him close by his stupid, whiny, blond head to comfort him. Kise sobbed into his neck in relief, clutching the cardigan on his back, totally unaware of the staring contest Aomine was having with Haizaki over his shoulder.
Well, that’s one opponent eliminated.

Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3 ??
(...)
《I feel dizzy.》
Kidou opened his eyes and searched Fudou’s for a split second : he was drinking a beer when he had fallen asleep for a fleeting moment on the brunet’s shoulder. He sat up, avoiding the petrol blue stare on him, and thoughtfully glared at the half-empty bottle in his hand.
《How much did you drink ?》The strategist mumbled, licking his lips only to get a reminiscent taste of alcohol.
《Two beers…》
《You’re drunk ?》
《Huh… Yeah, maybe.》Fudou answered, his voice low and throaty.
The room was dark, Haizaki and Kira were sleeping on the floor with a blanket on them, Kazemaru, Shirou and Kiyama were resting on the God Stricker’s bed. The tv was off for hours now, and the other boys were sleeping, but Fudou and Kidou were whispering in the night just like two middle schoolers during a slumber party.
《I’ve never been drunk before.》Kidou let out, fighting sleep and trying not to let his head fall on the brunet’s shoulder again. 《How is it like ?》
《It’s like… hard to stay focused, and hum… to fight back impulsive thoughts.》
《What impulsive thoughts ?》
《I have… mmh something to ask ya.》
Kidou mentally went through the list of questions Fudou was likely to ask : something about soccer, about strategy, about himself ? He nodded without looking back at the brunet, anticipating the words that would come from his mouth.
《Could you sleep here… tonight ?》Fudou gulped and seemed to be searching for the right thing to say. 《'Mean, the others are sleeping here too. And I… hmm, kinda like your scent.》
《You’re definitely drunk.》
Kidou sighed with a smile fortunately hidden by the obscurity. He let his head lean against Fudou’s shoulder again, feeling the number 3 turning his head to bury his nose in his hair.
《You underestimate me...》 the mohawk whispered in a sleepy and gruff voice.《I’ll learn you, you’ll see… I’ll find out what’s on your heart.》
Kidou wanted to protest but the other boy immediately started to snore slightly. Did Fudou know anything ? He frowned as he felt exhaustion invading his senses, and closed his eyes ; in a last thought, he wondered if Fudou would succeedly read through him, and then he fell asleep.
(...)
Kidou wondered how to react when he saw Fudou knocking at his window, showing in a triumphal move the Cherry Bliss bottles he had just bought. He wasn’t exactly in the mood for that, actually. He opened the window, letting the brunet climb inside his room with his singular grin.
《I found some more.》 Fudou said, smirking as he turned toward Kidou to give him two bottles. 《Let’s end what we’ve started the other day. I wanna know what kind of playmaker you are.》
Right now, Kidou was the “I will destroy Ichihoshi”-kind of playmaker, so he didn’t answer. He looked down, and smiled when he realised Fudou was wearing the same belt and the exact same pants as the last time: those straight jeans were fashionably too big for him and would most likely fall on his hips without the belt.
Hm.
It was satisfying enough to forget about the Russian player for a moment. He reached out to grip the belt and pulled Fudou closer.
《I need this.》 he said basically, a shiver running down his spine as Fudou answered with a mischievous smile.
《Sure, Kidou-kun, help yourself.》
Fudou wasn’t going to undo the belt by himself, Kidou knew it. He amusedly raised his eyebrows as he reached for the buckle and started to undo it under Fudou’s thoughtful stare. He finally took the long belt and opened the two bottles the brunet had given him. Fudou smirked and took the offered bottle to clink glasses with the blond boy.
《So, let me guess what’s on your mind.》 the number 3 said with a fruity voice, the bottleneck resting on his lower lip as he talked. 《Ichihoshi ?》
《Why would I be thinking about Ichihoshi ?》 Kidou replied, trying not to sound too irritated.
《Because he’s a little fucker who thinks he can bullshit everyone without getting ass-kicked by the big brother. You are the big brother in case it wasn’t clear enough.》
Fudou seemed to find the situation in Inazuma Japan very funny. He turned his head and walked to Kidou’s bed to drop on it nonchalantly. The number 5 joined him carefully, not sure he wanted to talk about the Russian player now, and sat on the edge of the bed to have a few sips, under the brunet’s burning gaze.
《Hmm, so that’s what was bothering you lately huh ?》 Fudou guessed, and his low, quiet voice made Kidou shiver discreetly. 《Ichihoshi.》
《He’s dangerous.》 The blond boy replied, giving the other player an accusing glance through his tinted glasses. 《And you know that too.》
《He’s sure... Suspect. But please, this shithead isn’t dangerous.》
《You’re underestimating him. I saw… how he works. He’s responsible for Gouenji’s injury.》
《Are you scared he could hurt you as well ?》
Kidou didn’t answer the question, thoughtfully toying with Fudou’s belt : he deliberately avoided his gaze, stroking the leather with the pulp of his thumb, and slightly tilted his head forth when the brunet tried to make eye-contact with him.
《Wait… that’s not about you.》 Fudou seemed to easily read on his face, even though the blond was trying hard not to show anything. The brunet remained silent for a moment, before Kidou gave in to the tentation to look back at him : suddenly, a grin invaded the number 3’s lips and Kidou realised he couldn’t hide anything anymore. 《It’s about the captain, huh ? You fear Ichihoshi because you know he could harm Endou...》
《I don’t fear him.》
《Yeah, sure, hehehe…》
Kidou gripped his beer and drank half the bottle in one-go, while Fudou was sitting cross-legged next to him : in a quick glance, the blond boy realised the number 3’s jeans were showing his black boxers as he was sitting. So Fudou was this kind of boy ? Wearing fashionably oversized jeans as if he liked looking delicate and cheeky at the same time.
《What’s going on ?》 Fudou whispered next to his ear. 《You can tell me. I’m smart enough to understand, and not to tell anyone else.》
《I swore I would protect this team the day I got called to take Inazuma Japan’s uniform… I couldn’t protect Gouenji, and I almost failed in protecting Endou. I won’t let this little fucker make a liar of me again.》
《Endou, Gouenji, and you, huh… I see.》
They were his best friends : the light that brought him back to his senses, his precious teammates. Winning the FFI was their dream for too long, and was the only reason why they agreed in to being separated for the Reinforcement Committee. They were bound to fight the world’s best teams, together, or nothing ever meant anything.
Fudou finished his first bottle with two last sips and leaned toward the former captain of Teikoku to whisper in his ear :
《Try not to lose yourself in the process.》
Kidou catched his glare for a quiet moment, and couldn’t help but gulping when Fudou smiled, his hand touching his shoulder in a flirty manner.
《Endou brought you back in the light, don’t fall into the darkness again for his sake.》
《How can you know this all ?》 Kidou breathed looking at the brunet’s glowy lips.
《I told you I would learn you.》
Something in Fudou was irresistible. This wasn’t a feeling Kidou knew very well ; all of his relationships had always been ‘logical’ until he met Endou and Gouenji, yet he didn’t know anything about this lustful desire driving him at this very moment. Fudou was making him feel like he'd never felt before. It was warm, soft, and also burning, sparkling. Something was linking them, and he couldn’t determine what.
《Will you give the belt back to me ?》 Fudou demanded quietly after a brief silent minute.
《No.》 Kidou admitted with a smoky voice.
《Then give me something… in exchange.》
Fudou’s hand flew to Kidou’s goggles, his thin fingers brushing the central part, just between his eyes.
《I want your eyes.》 He let out in a breath, looking deep into his gaze through the green glass. 《I want to see what’s hiding in them.》
《What do you expect to see ?》 The blond inquired -the air seemed to refuse entering his lungs for no reason.
《Anything you’ll show me, Kidou.》
Kidou gulped silently and reached the back of the goggles with his right hand, putting the left one in front of the glass. In a slow, anxious move, he removed the blue accessory, revealing his closed eyes. He couldn’t believe he was going to do that : his goggles were the last wall separating him from the rest of the world, and he didn’t feel like facing it right now.
《I can’t.》 he finally muttered, his breath quickened while his eyes remained solely closed.
《I was expecting it.》 the number 3 answered in a mocking yet soft voice.
《Why did you ask if you knew I wouldn’t do it ?》
《You tried... this already tells lots about you, you know.》
Kidou wondered if he should put his goggles back to open his eyes again but he suddenly felt a breath near his cheek and froze. A light, brushing kiss fell on the corner of his eye.
《I would be careful if I were you. Ichihoshi is sneaky, and might be smarter than you think.》
Fudou’s lips disappeared from his temple and Kidou waited silently for one full minutes before he decided to open his eyes again. The room was empty and the curtains were floating from the late summer breeze entering by the open window. Kidou looked back at his bed, where Fudou was sitting a moment ago : the Cherry Bliss bottle cap was there, lying on the blanket like a signature.
The blond smiled slightly, and put the golden-and-pink cap in his pocket.

Inazuma Eleven: Orion no Kokuin Log - Episode 46
My friend deadass sent me 4 text messages and a half screaming in the night about how good this episode was, so I may have jumped out of bed just to watch a soccer anime.
I have no regret doing so, if that’s what you were asking.
Spoilery goodness under the cut.
-To address the elephant in the lockers: Gouenji. We have waited 44 episodes for him to go back to the pitch and man was he worth it. While I’m somewhat disappointed we haven’t seen him use Last Resort, it was super cool to have him almost score with Fire Tornado of everything. Talk about a rush of nostalgia and hype coursing through my nerves. I’m looking forward to see him against Russia 2: Orionlicious Boogaloo.
-Seeing Kozoumaru inherit Gouenji’s solo Last Resort was awesome. I wished they hadn’t drastically changed Kozoumaru’s design like they did, but this is awesome and I was super hyped for him to use it. I almost wish for them to use both at the same time, but alas, we already have enough Last Resorts on our hands.
-Italy’s team is... it’s a mess alright lmao. Their second goalie was clearly just here because of the character design contest, he had one technique and that’s it. Petronio was still super awesome though. Them using Last Resort Dragon was a reach though. Grid Omega was already pretty farfetched, but this? This was hilarious unpredictable.
-Last Resort ping pong exchange, what has this anime become lmao. Ngl I was riding that wave with no care in the world for my credibility.
-Speaking again of Last Resorts... The complete, super mega special awesome edition that Inazuma Japan will use instead of Gouenji and Kozoumaru’s solo version is named Last Resort... Σ. I’ve thought about it a little, and Σ represents a total sum in mathematics, or at least those I’ve learnt, so it makes sense. At least, it looks super fucking good, even if I’m a sucker for Last Resort’s original stone dragon aesthetic thing going on.
-“Incomplete? So you just need to complete it here and now” can apply to literally every single big technique in this franchise. Majin the Hand was complete against Zeus. Mugen the Hand was completed against Chaos (and then Genesis). Endou invented a technique to stop Spain against Spain. I love this quote, especially the laidback way Gouenji just said that with not a hint of fear.
-Ah, Asuto... Poor Asuto. I’ve just felt this bad for this boy today. I’m not a genki protag kind of guy (even if I’m a filthy Endou stan, ngl), but seeing him this pained and crushed by reality makes for interesting development. I’m starting to really like him.
-I love Haizaki. I just love this edgy-ass boy in all of his edge. Having him show what could be empathy towards the opposite team was a new thing that I’m actually welcoming, same goes for his guilt for not managing to save all of his teammates (rip Norika, Aphrodi and Saginuma, thank you for coming). The fact he’s injured makes me think he won’t be playing in the finale, which is... very weird considering he’s always been there, doing something, saying something. It could make for an interesting development, though, this much I can admit.
-That bittersweet victory was a breath of fresh air and yet expected. I think it’s a win-win situation: Inazuma Japan hasn’t exactly won, but they still get to the finale, and Italy’s players don’t get utterly destroyed by their own coach. (btw Vladimir can choke on glass, he’s peak douchebaggery)
-Mysterious Pigtail-chan, huh. With that hair color, it has to be Froy’s secret twin sister who is under Irina’s orders. Most likely shares that bitch queen’s ideals too lmao.
-Asuto going deadass “Shinjou-san, are you my dad” was hilarious for a reason I can’t put words on.
-RIP Norika and Nishikage, was nice knowin’ you two as Japan’s guardians for like 3 matches each. Still better than Tachimukai, I’m afraid.
-Ka... Kageyama. I thought Oyabun had brought back Kidou for the epic finale (and got excited over that possibility), but I guess we’re just gonna have concrete bars on children extraordinaire instead. I’m actually very curious to see him in action, even if for now I’m pressing X for doubt. That’s such an Oyabun thing to do.
-Anyway, we know Endou and Asuto will take part in the finale against Perfect Spark (again, what a surprise, /s). I also predict that we’ll have a lot of substitutions because Russia will most likely try to fucking kill Japan’s representatives again. If Oyabun doesn’t decide to psych all of us again, we’ll have Nosaka, Ichihoshi and Gouenji on the field for sure. Goujin will most likely be substitued in. I hop we get Iwato. Kozoumaru, if he isn’t injured after trying to stop Last Resort D, will most likely be in there. Hiura and Mizukamiya should be in the starting team lineup too, especially Hiura who’s been quite the important character until now. I can’t really say for sure if Haizaki will be in there or not because of his leg injury, so that will have to be seen (I predict they pull a twist on us and have him benched for the finale so they can’t just use Last Resort Σ and insta-win).
See you next week, at the time the French subs will have dropped!

hihihihihi!! ty sm for your support squeeeeee, sure you can repeat again, think of it as a thank you for being there since the beginning <333 i actually have so much requests now it’s kind of crazy!
Himuro x Reader
5. “Well. Yell, scream, say something. Anything”
Word Count: 2255
prompt list here
TW: attempted assault and stalking, nothing graphic, but these are the main subjects for this scenario, so PLEASE PLEASE take care of yourself first if these topics trigger you and avoid them!
»»————— ☼ —————««
Himuro felt helpless.
The Winter Cup that year when Seirin rightfully won was over months ago, but even still, there is still a part of him that gnaws at him from the inside of his consciousness. Ever since he failed to stop Haizaki from making unwanted advances on his mentor.
No matter how much Alex assured him that it wasn’t a big deal, no matter how easily she shrugged the incident off, there is still a festering guilt that eats him away at how useless he was in protecting the people he cared about. He couldn’t even protect Kagami as an “elder brother,” and he couldn’t even protect Alex as a “male” against another male. Still, no matter how much he chastises himself for having such immature thoughts, they’ve continued to overstay their welcome. What kind of traits does an “elder brother” or a capable “male” even entail?
Someone who wouldn’t be beaten and swatted like a fly…
Someone who wouldn’t just sit idly by when someone is being wronged…
Someone who wouldn’t hesitate to fight back to protect someone, even despite the consequences…
But if that’s the case… that’s just the definition of a person with human decency, isn’t it? Yes, perhaps that is why he still mulls over the encounter to this day. First he split off his brotherhood with Kagami over a one-track goal of an equal rivalry, and then he talked down to his mentor before his Winter Cup game that evening… In the end, he was absolutely pathetic, losing to Kagami’s inborn talent and getting beat down while watching his teacher getting harassed and choked. He easily accepted the fact that Kagami surpassed him with his basketball… The latter? Not so much.
He hasn’t really talked about his inner turmoil with anyone. Atsushi is someone who would not care too much about the complex emotions that he’s currently harboring, much less help deal with them. His other teammates are graduating and too occupied with final exams. He could speak with Alex, but by now, she’s moved back to America, and a part of him doesn’t want to call her out of his self-consciousness and humiliation. You?… He could confide his troubles with you… but a part of him whispers that you’d think less of him if you knew how incapable he really was.
After all, if he couldn’t even protect you as your boyfriend… no, he’d rather not go too far into that thought.
He smiles at the thought of you openly complimenting everything of him every time he subconsciously downplays himself, whether it was his basketball skills or his looks or even his habits. He always thought about how cute you were when you always made exaggerated hand movements to express your sincerity when you shower him with compliments, even if he always told you that you never had to go that far in saying such things. (You always insisted that they’re true and he was the best boyfriend anyone could ask for anyways.)
To someone like Himuro who had always hid their inferiority complex and other entangling insecurities behind a mask of a genial smile, your words always reassured him that he wasn’t treating you horribly or neglecting you or just being downright selfish. Just like what happened with Kagami. Just like what happened with Alex. He just hopes he doesn’t fuck this up somehow with you too.
He had always apologized for how he couldn’t spend as much time with you as he wanted to; basketball practice doesn’t spare anyone, after all. Still, you would smack his arm and push him to the gym as you scolded him to focus on what he loved to do best. Ah, he really didn’t deserve you… how you were so understanding he would never know.
But dusk fell at another early-February weekday; it was still quite chilly, cold enough to see his own puffs of warm exhales. His hands are cold, but the rest of his body burns from running laps and repeating shooting drills moments earlier. His ears grow hotter still when he remembers that you two had planned a simple outing near the coffee shop around the corner.
“Atsushi!” Himuro turns back to call out to the center player. “I need to be going now.”
“Hmph,” Murasakibara huffs in reply. “I was gonna ask you to take me to that new booth to try out new samples.”
“Sorry, sorry,” he laughs, noting the faint mist escaping his lips. “I’ll take you there next time, Atsushi. I have a date planned with (y/n)-san right now.”
“Tch, I’m leaving before you get too mushy on me. Buh-bye~” the giant drawls, casually strolling down the opposite path. Himuro manages to hold back a mild snort before he makes his way to head to the shop you two agreed to meet up at. Propping up his phone to look for your name to send a text, his eyes widen as he registers your name popping up on his screen as an incoming call. What a coincidence. You must’ve been anticipating this too. He smiles as he envisioned your anticipation at the table before he picks up on your call.
“Tatsuya?…” your voice rang.
“(y/n)-san,” he teased. “I didn’t think of you as an impatient person. Can’t wait to see me?”
“Yeah,” you said, but something about your voice was overly cheerful.
“Don’t worry,” Himuro hummed. “I’ll be there really soon. Give me 5 minutes.” He assumed it was just your excitement taking over that made you sound different than usual. He was about to hang up before you spoke again.
“A-Anywho!” you say. “How was practice, Tatsuya?”
“Hmm, the same it has always been,” he replies. “Just drills and laps before running a few practice games. Why do you ask?”
“No reason! C-Can’t I check up on you sometimes?”
“Of course you can, (y/n)-san,” he reassures you. There was a silence from your end, but he can hear how your breaths quickened over the line. He then registered some footsteps and maneuvers on the concrete and furrowed his brows in mild confusion. “… Hey, is there something wrong?”
“A-Ah yes! I’m at the laundromat right a-around the corner!” Your voice slightly peaks at the end. “Y-Yeah, yeah! I can’t wait to… s-see you soon! Uh, huh, m-mhm! You’re near right now, right? Yeah! You-you’re almost there!…” By now, your voice has taken on an almost hysterical tone.
“(y/n)?… (y/n)!” he half-shouts into his phone. “(y/n)! Can you still hear me! Where are you?!… Laundromat, right?” He breaks into a brisk run, ignoring the disapproving stares of other pedestrians on the sidewalk.
“I-I-I’m near the alley adjacent to the laundromat!… Yeah! C-Can’t wait to see you! O-Oh, don’t forget… um, to bring your wallet. S-Silly, you always forget to bring money, so… s-so…” You completely break your facade with a faint voice crack and a sniffle at the end. “Please… please hurry…”
Himuro pushes himself to a full sprint, completely disregarding etiquette as he pushes a few people to the side. His cold hands struggle to cease from shaking as he clutches his phone harder, as if he was holding onto you for dear life. Something terrible might happen to you, and if something happened to you on his watch…
Please, please, please, fucking god, please—please make it on time—
He grits his teeth and screams at his legs to move faster when he hears a stifled sob and a cry from your end.
“A-ah please…” you whisper. “They’re coming—they’re, Himuro, I don’t know where to ru—” All he heard after was a terrified scream before the line cut off.
Fuck, hurry up, hurry the fuck up—
———
Your phone was completely shattered on the floor, and you swore you had a few broken shards embedded in your skin somewhere from the harsh impact. That didn’t matter though. Not when there were two men grabbing you and trying to muffle your cries for help.
You try to use your elbow to hit their weakest parts, their joints, to loosen their grip. It worked, but as soon as you took a few steps, the other just tackled you to the floor to completely immobilize you.
You screamed, you kicked, you slapped, you elbowed, you punched, you flailed, but nothing seemed effective against two bodies, twice the size and twice the strength of your own.
You pitifully wail as a last desperate attempt, but in the quiet corner of the neighborhood, nobody seems to heed your cries for help. The sun had completely set by now, the year still experiencing the darkness of a winter night; by now, most are already at home relaxing. Their weight on your body was suffocating and you don’t know whether the pain was from the rough concrete, the shards, their weight, or all of the above.
You register them heaving you up with a firm hold on you still and shoving you to walk to the nearest vehicle they owned, and your legs are absolutely trembling from the shallow wounds you accumulated from the roughing and from the fear of the uncertainty of what would happen to you.
———
When Himuro lays eyes on your roughed-up state and the two men restraining you, all his fury and guilt and fear comes rushing back from his encounter with Haizaki.
He is not a rational man right now. He is not thinking of being the “bigger person.” He is not thinking about being a model athlete nor proper sportsmanship nor disqualification. There are no such thoughts of consequences, not when your life is being jeopardized.
He does not fucking care that he looks like the aggressor when he throws a left hook at the first man. He does not fucking care that the second man looks like his shoulder got dislocated. For once, he does not fucking care how his violent actions might cost him his prospective basketball career.
When he pulls your trembling body into his arms and feels how warm you are against his body in the night chills of an early-February weekday, he breathes out a long cloud of air, slowly calming himself as he hugs you more firmly against his side and pulls up to dial the local police.
He feels a slight sense of relief when he can feel you instinctively snuggling into his side for solace.
———
The local officers immediately got the gist once they saw the scene of two sprawled men, a terrified you, and a protective Himuro. After checking the nearby CTE cameras, their suspicions were confirmed. They still ask Himuro a few basic questions before they haul them off to the station; Himuro mostly answers for you.
Once the quiet fills the neighborhood again, you release a shuddering breath; Himuro knows because he can see your own mist from the corner of his eye. Still, you haven’t spoken a word since then.
“(y/n)…” he murmurs, bending down to your level to survey the scratches and bruises on your body before he hesitantly looks at your eyes. “Well… yell, scream, say something—anything… please.”
“… Can you… hug me again?”
“… Of course.”
And you both embrace tightly, Himuro tucking your head into his chest as you nuzzle as much as you could into his body.
“… Did they do anything to you?”
“They roughed me up and all, but… thank god you came…”
“They still put their hands on you—I couldn’t protect you—”
“… Why do you look so much more distraught than me, Tatsuya?”
“Because, I—I can’t do anything for the people I love and care about, and I… never mind, do you… want me to walk you home?”
“Wait, Tatsuya…” you whispered. “Let’s talk for a bit, please talk to me.”
“Our date—”
“Which we can always reschedule,” you said, bringing Himuro’s head down to nuzzle against your shoulders.
“If I was there faster—if I was there, this wouldn’t have…”
“Because you were there,” you corrected him. “I am able to experience another day, another tomorrow… especially by your side, where I’m happiest.”
“You must’ve been so scared—damn it, I—”
“Yeah… I’m still shaken up from that, to be honest,” you sighed. “I’m… just a bit paranoid about being alone in the dark now, but you saved me from the worst case scenario—Tatsuya, what’s wrong?! Are you crying—?”
“Sorry, sorry,” he said, quickly separating from you to rub his stray tears away before attempting to smile. “I should be the one comforting you, not the other way around. Please don’t mind me.”
“Oh silly,” you mused. “I’m dating you too. I want to be able to protect and care for you in my own way, too.”
“It’s getting dark, though. We should really start walking.”
“And we can talk while we do. I demand you to snuggle while we walk, too.”
“Haha… how could I ever say no to you, (y/n)?” He feels that gnawing sense of guilt and patheticness rearing up its head again, but when he looks at your earnest eyes even despite what transpired a few moments ago, the fact that you were safe and in his arms was more than enough to quell those feelings away.
In the lulls of a chilly early-February night, Himuro wraps a comforting arm over your figure as he draws a shuddering breath before he hesitantly begins. You look up at his face expectantly to show that you were giving him undivided attention as encouragement.
“It was during the Winter Cup a few months ago…”

End Note: being stalked by a dude in a CAR was NOT FUN. IT WAS NOT A FUN TIME !! 😭 unlike this y/n here, I had no one to “call” and pretend that I was meeting up with them because my walk route home comprised of only houses and streets, so that was something else OOF I was thinking of the worst case scenarios at the time;;;

Hi Lovely... Consider me over the bend butt 🍑... Kiyoshi Teppei yandere (contra fem love interest) headcanons? Does an alternative universe like that exist? ALSO: you invented yandere kasamatsu so we are forever in depth to you! ❤️
note: this ask was sent in during an event; i currently only write for kiridai/imayoshi/haizaki/nash
kiyoshi would highkey be a terrifying yandere cause this man is absolutely delusional
he’s convinced that you love him just as much as he loves you, and that everything you do is just some way of showing love, one way or another
(or at least, that’s how you explain his lack of empathy - who knows what he really thinks)
and that’s a whole lotta love - the fact his motto is “with one’s heart and soul” highlights just how obsessive he is; his world revolves around you, all he’s ever thinking about is what he can do to ensure that you two of you will, in time, live happily together
ultimately all kiyoshi wants is for the two of you to live the ‘proper family life’
he wants to come home to you ever day wearing an apron, telling him “honey, dinner’s ready - how was your day?”, and all your many kids surround the two of you, and you and he share a chaste kiss
and maybe you lot live in the middle of a rural area, where there’s no one for you to meet with except the local old ladies, and, on the weekends, kiyoshi chops up some wood for the fireplace, and you bring him tea and a towel to wipe away his sweat, and the kids are running around trying to catch bugs
in short, not having spent much time with his parents has made kiyoshi determined to have a happy + big family, très traditionnelle
and you’d better not get in the way of that
anyway, yandere!kiyoshi’s love language is very much words of affirmations and physical touch
in particular, if you ever need to calm him down, telling him you love him, over and over again, is your best bet
of course, he doesn’t get angry with you, and he’ll never hit you
(the closest he comes to that is being a little too strong with his actions)
but, if you keep insisting that he’s just an obsessive maniac, he might get a little disappointed :)
after all, everything he’s doing is for you
and it’s a little hurtful when you refuse to acknowledge that
cause your future kids wouldn’t want y’all fighting, right?
