The feeling of gentle lips pressed to your temple roused you, against your own will. In truth, you'd been awake for an hour, but you relished in the weighted, blurry state that made your flesh feel as stone for as long as you could.

But as lulling as that was, too many enticing sensations were pricking your senses. A sweet scent tickled your nostrils from somewhere around you, light blaring at you even through your eyelids, the rich hum that encouraged you to blink open your eyes.

"Good morning, lazy."

You peered up at the woman in front of you. You mentally flipped her the bird, and she could probably see you doing it. She laughed upon seeing you lift your head from the pillow- partly because she knew it held no real venom, and partly because there were probably lines on the side of your face.

"Not lazy." You mumbled, rolling halfway onto your back to stretch.

"Mm, a little lazy." Wanda smiled. "It's ten thirty."

"That's early. You should commend me for being up before noon." You smacked your lips, sitting up slowly.

"Oh, should I?" She rolled her eyes, but wrapped her arms around you nonetheless. "Is breakfast reward enough?"

You pursed your lips, sighing. "I think so."

"Good." She stood up. "'Cause it's ready."

You gave a tiny huff. You didn't want to stand. That was preposterous of her to even suggest.

"Wanda?" Your voice was still hoarse, so it sounded feebler than you intended.

"Hm?"

"Can we eat in bed?" You clasped your hands together under your chin and batted your eyelashes up at her. "Pretty please?"

Wanda tilted her head back then gave a groan. "Fine."

You giggled. "Thank you Wanda!" Your tone resembled that of a kindergarten class thanking someone on a teacher's cue.

"You're welcome. If you spill powdered sugar on the comforter you are washing it."

"Needs a wash anyway." You muttered, flopping back onto your side.

"Uh huh, whose fault is that?" Wanda grinned, stepping through the doorway.

You gasped incredulously, reaching for one of the small decorative pillows you'd discarded at the foot of the bed. "Yours!" You tossed it in her direction, but it thumped noiselessly on the door.

Luckily for her, you couldn't hit her as soon as she got back because she was carrying two plates of what looked like sandwiches- you could only see the bread from your angle.

"What's this?" You asked, stretching your neck for a better view, though she was already placing it in front of you.

"Monte Cristo, dearest." She placed a quick kiss to your hair before stepping out and returning with napkins and drinks.

Once she'd settled under the covers with you, you took her hand and squeezed it.

"Thank you." This time it was said softly and sincerely.

"You're welcome, bubs." She squeezed your hand thrice, tiny crinkles forming under her eyes.

The two of you fell into a comfortable quiet. It wasn't silence, but there was something about the atmosphere that felt like a serene little bubble, like nothing existed outside of the bedroom and time didn't exist within it. It was a reset button for the both of you, having a moment to simply sit in peace and enjoy being.

Well, sort of.

"I swear to god you're not even two bites in-"

"It's not my fault powdered sugar is aerodynamic!"

First dates with Luxiem ♡ (HC)

Author's notes: I suddenly had like a moment when my brain was like “It's time to write something” so here I am

Luca Kaneshiro ♡

Ok for some reason, I strongly believe that Luca is a fun loving outdoor date person. So I think Luca would be the type to ask you out for carnivals, music festivals and even theme parks :D

I personally think that Luca would try his best to match his outfit with you in terms of colour and aesthetic, and when you compliment his outfit, he would say “Your outfit is pog too! POOOGGG-”

Luca will definitely try to win every game possible to impress you, you can't tell me otherwise. So be prepared to go home with bags of prizes won by him :D

Of course, he would be a gentleman and offer to drop you home before he goes back (Unless one of you is staying overnight, but we'll save that for another time)

Luca would gladly be your photographer for the day and make sure that you have lots of photos to post after your date~ but you'll have to be patient and teach him how to take nice photos at certain angles 😌

Carnivals, so there will be food. Luca gives me the vibe that he WILL buy every food possible for the both of you, and when you can't finish, he'll probably offer to finish :""

Vox Akuma ♡

Hear me out, Vox gives me the vibes of a very classic fine dining first date :O

He would sort out your preferences in food and book a really fancy restaurant in advance

Knowing Vox, he would probably tease you a little by repeating how cute you look in your outfit and how flustered you look when he compliments you

Besides dinner, I think he would be the type to also buy you flowers and a small present, like the “I think it looks good on you” kinda person

As much as Vox is pretty much a confident man who knows what he's doing, I think he would be pretty nervous. He would stutter every now and then and sometimes may need you to initial a topic to talk about :D

And I think he would be a little clumsy because he's nervous, he would probably accidentally drop the menu or stumble over something. You can't blame him though, can you :3

I think Vox would naturally offer to pay for dinner even if you said you don't mind splitting the bill. He would only agree if you keep insisting, but will probably buy you something else in return some other day :D

Vox would definitely drop you home, he insists! And he would only leave after seeing you reach your apartment or after you text him that you're home safe

Before leaving, Vox would probably steal a lil peck on your forehead or hand and say “Good night darling~” :D

Mysta Rias ♡

This man would probably attempt to ask you out to the arcade and make you pay 😃/j

Since Mysta is a indoor person, I think he would be the type to ask if you were comfortable having a stay at home date.

Of course if you weren't, he's totally fine with going to the arcade with you

As much as Mysta is unseiso on streams, I think he would try his best to stop himself from saying unseiso things on your first date, but it doesn't stop him from cursing loudly in arcades when he loses a game, or when he loses a game match to you at home :""

I think Mysta would be trying so hard to impress you, but would fail sometimes because he is so conscious around you :>

If you guys happen to be at home, Mysta will actually convince you that he can cook dinner, he will go like “Have faith in me ok, I am a chef, I played cooking simulator” This is a cue for you to calm him down and convince HIM to have food delivery :>

If you guys are outside, Mysta will probably ask you what you would like for dinner, and probably say that he does it better than the place you guys have dinner at 🤌

I really do think that Mysta is a very shy guy irl and he would struggle to ask you a lot of things, like if you wanted him to drop you home first

He's afraid that you might be uncomfortable having him to know where you stay, so unless you ask him yourself, he'll probably need a few more dates in order to gain confidence to ask you :<

Mysta would probably also be very shy about physical contact, so I think he would prefer if you would offer to hold his hand first rather than him making the first move :3

Overall, it would be a very sweet date, a little shy, but you'll have more time with him ♡

Ike Eveland ♡

I actually pondered for a long time for Ike, but I think Ike would bring you to a nice themed cafe, like a cat cafe for the first date

I think that Ike would actually be SO nervous for your first date, he would wake up really early just to get ready and would be there early :D

I think Ike would get super duper nervous when he sees you can will start going on and on

“You look so good today! Do you need help with your bag? Do you want to have a snack or drink? Do you...” sort of guy

Ike would probably admire you silently instead of directly confessing it, and he would take really nice and aesthetic photos of you when you're not looking :D

Ike would be very subtle about physical affection, he would take initiative to hold your hand, but he would probably only hold the tip of your hands :3

I think Ike would definitely want to pay for everything on the first date, but he would allow you to pay for some on subsequent dates, just not this time :>

I think compared to dropping you home directly, he would ask first “would you like me to drop you home? Or...”

Even if you said you can go home on your own, he would still accompany you until you get on the transport home. He would also text you/call you on your way home to make sure you are safe throughout the whole journey :D

Definitely makes you text him when you're home safe :D

It's a simple date, but it's definitely a wonderful memory ♡

Shu Yamino ♡

Greets you with “eYYYY baBy” when he sees you :""

Shu gives me the vibes of internet cafe date vibes

Although he has his own set up at home, he would still like to spend time with you irl playing games and snacking away at the internet cafe :D

If you are unfamiliar with the game, Shu would be more than happy to guide you along and sometimes even carry you through the game :D

And every time you make an achievement in the game, Shu would definitely say good job to you :D

Shu doesn't stop you from snacking, but would constantly remind you to drink water to avoid getting sore throat :3

I think Shu would be more of a “best friend vibes” boyfriend, and both of you are more casual and comfortable with each other

Shu would be willing to display physical affection first, but he would definitely ask if you were comfortable

Shu is totally comfortable with holding hands, putting his arm over your shoulders and lil surprise forehead pecks once in a while :3

Shu would probably want to drop you off, but if you insist that you can go home yourself, he would still accompany you, similar to Ike <3

Overall it's a really fun and simple date, and Shu would definitely ask you out for an internet cafe date soon ♡

POTO Korea Review

August 9, 2023 Seoul

This one was my favorite.

JDS is insane. His voice is in the best shape these days, and his performance is very engaging. He seems to be gradually stepping out of the shadow of the Y&K Phantom and steadily building his own phantom. He still can't quite touch Christine and doesn't know how to treat her, but his attitude and mood captures the sassiness of the ALW phantom.

It's been a few days since I saw his previous performance, but I was surprised to see that his movements were more organized. This time I was able to see him more closely from a different angle, he really organized his hair nicely and walked like this :

Now I know why Christine actresses said he was so cool in that moment. Really seductive.

And he kept trying to whisper in Christine's ear at MOTN. It was like... it was the one scene that summed up why Christine couldn't resist the Phantom.

At the Red death scene, I was told it’s an recording, but he broke through the recording and sang it really loudly live. (I think the people in the front row could hear it.) His voice and the recording resonated, which seemed like another Phantom’s trick. and reminded me of the LEROUX Phantom playing with his voice... It was quite fascinating.

PONR… I like that he matches his movements with her in the Christine part.

My favorite scene was the one in Final lair where he was arguing with Raoul behind the bars. The original line, ‘I love her, does that mean nothing?’ was changed to ‘I love her, Why don't you believe in love?’ in the Korean. JDS, who had been bit relaxed, was momentarily unable to hold back his tears. I realized that his Phantom was the one who believed in the miracle of love more than anyone else in this musical…

With that, he started crying a lot... again, and I think it was more than the last performance. He kept showing signs of pulling himself together to hit his lines (especially when he heard ‘I gave my mind blindly’), and I could keep hear him sobbing in the silences. really don't know how he sings steadily in the middle of that… When Christine came to return the ring, he looked like wanted to tell her not to, but all I could hear was a sob.

He's crying like the world is ending, and behind him, Raoul kisses Christine's hand… yes it’s sad but also too beautiful. Can’t deny it.

I know it’s weird, but I like the moment right before he lassoed Raoul the best. His impressive use of elongated limbs reminds me of Leroux's Phantom. Sexy

I'd love to see his phantom on west end stage, if that's possible.. he'd look better in west end makeup

The chemistry between JDS & SJS is really 🤌 They're both settling into their acting, and when JDS shows his charms, SJS responds well to it.

I think Sohn ji-soo is going to be my new favorite Christine… Her dialog is a little awkward, but she's a former opera singer, so she's very good at conveying emotion through song, and also (of course) a good singer.

Overall, she is more passive, serene, and calm than SEH Christine. This time I saw in her a Christine from the 90s and 00s. A very early, almost archetypal Christine. She plays Christine as fragile and vulnerable, but that's what makes her shine in the graveyard scene. While SEH showed us a beautifully radiant prima donna making her debut in TOM, SJS brings a lush sadness to the Wishing.

She seems overwhelmed with how to get through this, but in the end, she moves forward unbroken. So her first step, Wishing, is even more impressive.

Her feelings toward the Phantom are similar to those of a mortal facing the Absolute. In The mirror scene, she fearfully soothes the Phantom, but when his anger is unabated and he tries to reveal himself, she willingly tries to open the dressing room door, despite her fears.(She must have thought he would be at the door. Love this detail!)

She was afraid to face the Phantom in STYDI (on the other hand, SEH didn't avoid his gaze.), but when he turned away in pain, she reached out her hand as if she wanted to hug him.

In the Final lair, she's upset to see herself in a wedding dress, but when the Phantom starts singing (this face, which earned~), she turns toward him as if mesmerized. (This reminds me of Claire Lyon in PONR)

She was clearly afraid of him, but also attracted to him. It's such a natural and obvious Christine’s trait, but it was great to see it again with the chemistry between JDS and SJS. I still remember her reaching for him as he painfully yelled at her to leave…

I saw her respond to being told that she had the biggest role in Don Juan by saying, "me…?". Funnily enough, JDS once interviewed that when phantom said, 'I've written you an opera,' the 'you' was referring to Christine.

I thought that Christine would have instinctively sensed the Phantom's obsession and affection and already known that she would be the one to play Aminta, but her Christine seems to think that his anger is simply a hate of her.

She was a relatively innocent and naive Christine, which seemed to work well with JDS's romantic side.

She and SEH Christine both sing along Carlotta's TOM in small voice, which is a detail I love because it's so cute and shows their desire to sing🥹

Oh and Korean fans call her a hamster… i can understand. She’s so lovely Christine!

I’m not sure about SWG Raoul… his presence was barely felt. I'm not sure if it was tiredness or what, but his performance had very little impact, and I felt like I was watching a character from another musical he was in.

But he was definitely milder than HGH, and I love the detail of him hugging Christine in the final lair, even though he's in a lasso.

I really like LJY Carlotta! Her performance was appropriate and impressive as a prideful prima donna. At the same time, her mean and demanding personality was well portrayed, making her an appealing character. Like the scene in Il Muto where she throws Christine into bed (Andre's panicked reaction is hilarious) or in Don Juan rehearsal where she gently teaches Piangi and gets annoyed with Monsieur Reyer in an instant are good examples.

When she says "she’s crazy," it's no longer sarcastic, but more like she's looking at a mentally ill person with disdain, which, coupled with PHR Piangi's reaction afterward, further emphasizes the relationship between the Phantom and Christine. (It shows how strange their relationship is and that it can't be shared with anyone.)

There were a lot of little funny scenes. The most interesting was the conductor's panicked performance with Andre in the Il Muto ballet scene. It was quite funny to see her panicking, searching for the score, and ruffling her hair.

why do the ballet girls' screams seem to get louder and louder...? 😂

The supporting cast is also working well together, and the performance is gradually becoming more complete. I was actually thinking that this production might not be for me, but um now I just wish I could follow this show and witness every moment..

If you sit in the first row, your neck can get sore, and you can barely see the Phantom on the angel. On this day, JDS was very emotional and the angel was swaying SO much that I wondered what was going on overhead.

There are no tickets left for me right now, but I hope this isn't the last time I see his phantom. I'd love to see it again as a JDS/SJS/HGH/LJY pair if I get the chance🙏

"oh no, angel. see i think that guy was trying to tell me something. he thought that he could make you happier? make you smile more? fuck you better?" kaeya sighed. his breath hit your ear while he angled his fingers up against the spot you loved so dearly.

you called out his name, bare skin rubbing against the fabric of his shirt. he continued to sink his fingers into you, pressing deeper as you shifted on his lap.

you could feel him smirking against your skin, leaving little kisses up and down your neck. he moved one of his hands to run through his hair, pulling the strands away from his face.

"he can sit outside and listen to me play with you. now he can dream about what it would be like to be me."

EDIT: I just realised I watched till ep 2 without realising and put some ep 2 content on here as well, so I'll be making a seperate post with some more content from both the wos in a bit!!

MONN guess who’s watched ep 1&2 for our #vvrewatch2024!! i was legit kicking my feet, giggling like a 15 year old, going absolutely BALLISTIC at peun and talay and their universe travelling friendship 😭😭😭

here is a brief rundown of my thoughts on these episodes. there are definitely SEVERAL more things that I thought/felt while watching but your girl isn’t so inept with an online community watch party hehe. don’t you worry, though!! that shall definitely get better in the coming few weeks!! now for the rundown

1. how young were our boys?? like ik they’re both old enough (older than me at least!!) but do you see they were such babies??? ohh man i missed my clumsy talay and my cutely annoying peun 😭😭😭 i mean just look at them mon

2. i cannot help but notice and appreciate how much care and attention this show was made with. like look at the colours in this picture

i wish i’d taken a video of this scene because what mastery. the colours, the angles, the background score, the sets, the sheer artistry of this production never ceases to amaze me and you shall be hearing a lottt more about it from me in the coming weeks, my love.

3. borrowing from my previous point, this show is soo magical, mon. like this point is just an appreciation for moments like the one below. i remember watching this one with goosebumps because the lighting, jimmy’s singing, js’s acting, the camera angles everything just makes you feel like you’re in a dream. maybe that’s how it was for peun & talay over here because i’m universe travelling ???? and i found someone from my own universe ??? like what??? too good man, i really cannot fall in love with this show enough

4. i do not have a picture for this, but throughout these eps, in the scenes where you see the switch between sea and ohm, there are so many instances where you can see the confusion/hope/conviction in sea’s face (it also translates into ohm’s btw) as he tries to get this pakorn to talk to him and get back to his universe/life. i’ll take a picture to show you in my next post maybe (because a girls texting you from work lmaoo) but this was just one of those parts where you could see the care and attention that went into making VV

5. bonus point. this scene was hilarious 🤣🤣 sea swearing will always be soo cute to me, like look at this cutie patootie swearing heheheh

6. second bonus point. again no pic, but what a gift ep1 must’ve been for the bad buddy fans?? since vv was my first bl, i was admittedly CLUELESS during my first watch of the show. with this rewatch though, since i’ve already watched bbts, i can really see how much people would’ve lost their minds during ep 1&2. the fact that we even got milklove??? chef’s kiss 🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽

that’s all of my thoughts for the first 2 eps mon!! i cannot wait to hear your thoughts babe, and sooo excited for this communal rewatch experience :)))

With the things said recently regarding Suns being a bad influence on Pebbles, I just want to say that I wholeheartedly agree but that I. Actually dislike Suns willingly giving Pebbles the taboo overwrite instructions from a writing perspective like. The jump from "ultimately means well but is unhealthy and incredibly emotionally insensitive" to "literally handing your blatantly emotionally unstable best friend instructions on how to destroy himself" is not a small one!!! It just doesn't really. Feel like a reasonable thing for Suns to do at least as far as I see. They're definitely still a dumbass though and I want them put through every last one of the situations

gjklsdcmklgjkdscmdl damning them to every situation ever GJSKLCMKL BUT! -snaps fingers n finger guns atcha- i'mma tell you why it makes sense to me personally!

see, when handling the Iterators (and just about anyone from RW's world), one needs to keep in mind their situation and the general set up. their world functions differently than ours, they have different faith, different ultimate goals towards which they wish to lead their lives

irl Buddhism views the living world and situation (Saṃsāra) as a cycle of torture. the ultimate goal is to escape it. it's just how the culture and understanding of the world developed over there. a christian or something might view it as insane, but that is an opinion that should be kept to themselves in order to respect something strikingly different from what they are used to. Buddhism isn't inherently evil for thinking this way

n as well aaaaaaaaall know RW has Buddhism elements in it (whether filtered thru the idea of Theosophy or not is -aggressively shrugs- who knows). therefore we gotta understand that what Suns did was, in a way, that "ultimately means well" thing

all that the Iterators are left with in the world... *is* the Great Problem. hard canon speaking-wise, Suns was most likely to definitely correct when they said that that isn't anything else for them except work on the Problem or be Stuck

and that pearl was supposed to have the answer to it. an ending to the suffering that's just stretching and stretching on, so so much more palpable to the Iterators than irl Saṃsāra is to us. they are fated to end *horribly* if they don't find the solution and THIS might be it

from that angle, the thing they did doesn't sound so bad anymore! it's def still shit cuz like. yeah, Pebs was Not in a good mindset and they should've communicated more with the rest of the group (ESPECIALLY Moon) to coordinate better n prevent all that tragedy, but... Yeah

i like shoving the blame at Ancients for this as well, cuz motherFUCKERS -hits 'em with rolled up newspaper- just HAD to go and want to speedrun a fucking RELIGION instead of proper dedicating themselves to it. feckin no wonder the children are doing it too! it's a line of dumbfuckery!!!!! mama mia! 🤌

About hair…

TIG’s best hair is in Crackerjack in my opinion, bar none. He looked so handsome there with that floppy cut it’s not even funny. Also really loved the shorter, salt n’ pepper look in that movie where he goes to Poland or something (and he’s a cop). Super handsome and also distinguished! I have mixed feels about the Excessive Force hair (not a fan of mullets, but TIG’s such a looker so…). Also liked his hair in Escape from Alaska and silver fox look in The Kidnapping/Black Friday.

Might be an unpopular hot take, but my all time favorite “Daniel” look is in Cuba and His Teddy Bear as Teddy. What a total doll, the messy, shaggy hair just WORKS for him because it frames his face and brings out how very pretty he really is, how dark and expressive his eyes are. Another hot take—the Naked in New York haircut only looks good from certain angles. From the front it looks not so good, and sets weird, though from the side/profile it looks great.

That is a a good choice - crackerjack and I think Black Friday is my fav Silver Fox Look 🤔

I like Behind Enemy Lines and Beyond Forgiveness really deserves more love than it gets.

Ulterior Motives - but I think that’s just adorable because it’s his wife as his costar.

Hollow Point - Max Parish is a good look.

Valek - love him but that’s just the vampire vibes more than anything and the character itself - love Valek.

I do love Ralph in NINY but I can appreciate those feelings about it.

Tragically I like him in Too Much Son 😬

Cuban and his Teddy Bear is what I picture when I think ABO Daniel in heat - it’s the sweaty hair and skin, flushed face and crazy eyes - screams omega in heat.

Daniel giving his 🍑 up - and of course, after a while, well, “I don’t like you working such a dangerous job, sweetheart,” which is funny - the target he has on his back since becoming Terry’s side piece is much bigger ….. but there is something 🥵 about older Daniel becoming some kept, pretty thing on Terry’s arm - getting through life on Terry’s dime by the spread of his thighs.

Harry’s living above the shop in Knockturn Alley, working as a private detective after a failed stint as an Auror, when he gets an invitation from Luna Lovegood to the last place he could have imagined: Malfoy Manor.

Harry’s done a masterful job of keeping the Malfoy he shags occasionally entirely separate in his head from the Malfoy who was raised at the Manor to oppose everything Harry stands for. And Harry maintains that very careful separation by not considering it at all: like a blackness in a dream you fear looking at in case it swallows you whole. But he can feel it there sometimes, even when he’s with Malfoy. The past looming over them.

I’m on an exciting longfic reread streak and it’s been the best low-pressure way to stay active in fandom while taking the edge off after a long work day. I’m finding great comfort in old faves and trying not to plan too much ahead - it goes more or less like “hmm I’m craving a specific trope tonight, I wonder what juicy treats I can find in my bookmarks” and that’s how I ended up going to bed at 2am after indulging another delicious murder mystery by one of my favorite authors (if you haven’t checked all HR’s works you’re missing out, start with Turn From Stone and come scream about it with me!!)

Fuck buddies my beloved! I will die on that hill and this fic captures everything I love about this trope with Drarry, especially when they’re not friends or even colleagues but somehow keep fucking finding each other. Complicated oblivious pining, a confusing mix of want and guilt, lots of denial and feral animosity masking their ache to connect. Here Harry and Draco are quiet, distant and restrained around each other, which is so very different from the usual take on their sneaking around.

They’re in no way less intense about each other but are still haunted by their past and incapable of talking it out and going beyond falling into bed together (repeatedly 🌝). The fast sexual burn + slow emotional burn never gets old and is perfectly executed within the tense murder mystery atmosphere. Sharing a weekend under the same roof and facing a crime investigation together, they’re finally pushed to acknowledge each other and their feelings. Slowly but surely we start getting tiny bits of electrifying sexual tension, sharp and intense and sprinkled with soft moments of tenderness and vulnerability, I can’t express how much I adore this! 🤌🏼

Beyond this delicious Drarry romance, this fic has amazing settings and characterization all around. It’s very cinematic to follow a murder mystery set in Manor Manor - the space feels oppressive and vibrates with tension as this awkward schoolmates reunion brings together complex and secretive characters, each facing their own demons. As those layers are revealed, multiple dynamics are cleverly woven into the main plot making the story captivating from all angles. There’s another complicated side ship I won’t mention for spoiler reasons, there’s Harry & Ron’s fractured friendship after Harry leaves the Aurors to become a private investigator, there’s a brilliant and heartbreaking murderer reveal. All those parallel dynamics give the story a human element that I loved, even if in a dark and devastating way.

As per HR’s usual, this is a brilliant thriller that feels very much like a Poirot adventure; the crime book vibes are immaculate and the story keeps you engaged at all times with a lovely pining Draco, clever twists, A+ foreshadowing and a disturbingly dark edge to remind us of the lasting war horrors and marks of trauma. It feels very original (the hunt ritual is one of my favourite moments and concepts in fic, so well done!) and also true to the HP universe as a realistic post-war scenario. I promise you’ll be hooked from beginning to end, and what better way to start your weekend? Happy readings!

Your artwork is like super inspiring to me to try and progress and get better. Whenever I see any comics posted I *sprint* to go and buy them lmao, the art is beautiful 🤌

I feel like every artist gets asked this, but how'd you get so good at anatomy? Or what's your advice on how to study/draw it? Same thing with the really dramatic shading/coloring you do. Your art is just so nice, I apologize for the long ask lmao.

no apology needed! this is such a sweet ask, thank you so much 😭 i, like most people tend to look at my older work and go "man i could have done this so much better" but knowing that it encourages other artists makes me glad that some of it is still out there, even if im no longer happy with it.

here's how you get really good at anatomy-- literally have reference right next to you at all times LOL seriously, whenever i do a really good pose you can be sure that 99% of the time, i had a 3d model or a photo reference for it on a window right by it. when you get over the idea that you need to be able to draw everything from memory, your life and work will improve so much! you will find yourself stylizing and improving your own reference material anyways, and now that you dont have to crack your skull trying to figure out how a pose works from x angle, you can use that time to actually make your stuff look more interesting by adding your own touches to it.

as for lighting/heavy shading, i would suggest the same, plus looking at how other artists stylize their own shadow-work, finding what you like, and seeing how it adapts to your own style. Trying to recreate shadows from a real life picture is helpful, but you will find that it doesnt always translate well to your art.

i recommend checking out Jason Shawn Alexander ( my favorite artist!), Frank Miller, Sean Murphy (of Punk Rock Jesus fame) and Marcos Mateu-Mestre for examples of artists that do incredible work with dramatic light and shadow!

Rage Against the Dying Light

Summary: He sees Hange holding placards and posters in protest, fighting for human rights, and Levi Ackerman thinks that his world would stand its ground, but it doesn’t.

Peaceful protests are a miracle. Levi still doesn’t know how it happened, but here they are, walking side by side with the military outside the President’s Palace.

Captain Kenny Ackerman is on the news, explaining to the media that the dictator has left. He’s smug, the way he says it. He’s the head of the military after all. If it weren’t for his call to lay down their arms, things would have ended in war and bloodshed.

But the surprising thing is that he’s thanking his nephew who’s had a change of heart.

“Levi has helped me see things in a better light,” he says. The two of them have grown so much. “He told me not to fire at the innocent. Today, the youth has something to teach the world.”

Three hours ago, it was a modern-day revolution. Roads and bridges were barricaded. Tanks and armalites, rifles and grenades were everywhere.

On the other end, the masses waited for the civilian protest. Levi had joined them in search for Hange. Hange, who had helped him see the power in mass action. Hange, who had helped him see that activism can push governments to change. They had been in rallies together, often with Hange inviting him so that he could see beyond his previous beliefs and notions.

And it was all for the better.

He finally spots her in the middle of the crowd, calling out her name—“Hange! Hange!”

Hange drops her megaphone in surprise. She steps off the sidewalk and runs up to him in tears, allowing him to catch her in his arms.

“You’re back!” She cries. “You came back!”

“I never left.” He tucks a loose strand of hair behind her ear and pulls her in.

They kiss in the middle of the protest. The riots, the chaos all around them. The celebrations, the peace. People are now storming inside the President's office. Heartwarming reunions are surrounding them, families crying knowing their loved ones are safe.

They’re making out in public, all the frustration, the anger, the pain that built-up over the past few months slowly ebbing away between them. Levi tilts his chin so he can get a better angle and Hange pushes back right in.

“Why did you come back?” she asks him in between their kisses. "What made you do it?"

Levi holds her face, both their eyes wet from crying, and captures her mouth with his once again.

“I saw your eyes," he breathes, "in the eyes of the people.”
