Always a man, a city, and a lighthouse...
"Robin, Red Robin, stay back for a minute," Batman said as he dismissed everyone for patrol. "I have a new mission for you. Dozens of civilians have gone missing around the decommissioned Gotham City Lighthouse." A few clicks and the Batcomputer displayed a map of the Upper West Side, a highlight on the lighthouse. "I want you both to investigate the building. Everyone who's gone missing entered the lighthouse, but nothing has been found by the police. I suspect that the lighthouse is being used for gun smuggling, but we need more information.
"That's where you two come in."
Or, I've been reading too much of @virgamsysxvolumes 's Lucky Rush AU, and wanted a true Bioshock AU for dc x dp.
Underneath the city, in the vast and endless caverns beneith Gotham, lies the subterranean city of Amity. Amity was the pet project of the mad scientist couple, the Drs. Fenton, to investigate the effects of ectoplasm on humans, but with the help of their best friend, Vlad Masters, they transformed Amity into a Technocracy City filled with scientists, and completely lacking in morals.
Or at least, that's how it was ten years ago, before the creation of Plasm (the Adam replacement), a neon green goo that's basically meth that gives you superpowers. Everyone from the top scientists to the lower working class starting doping on Plasm, which gave people the ability to control fire, create hallucinogenic spores, summon bats, etc. Vlad, the mayor, was deposed in a cue let by the Fentons and the city descended into anarchy, with people from the surface getting lured down from the lighthouse so they can continue their experiments.
The Fentons are 100% not good people in this. Jack is in charge of all the technological advances in Amity, while Maddie has created human/ghost hybrids--the Little Sisters of the story--that can naturally harvest ectoplasm from dead bodies to use for experiments. Once everyone's hooked on Plasm, the Little Sisters are in danger from acting Splicers, so she creates Big Daddies to protect them.
Danny is the only Little Brother, and Jazz is the only Big Sister. Vlad turned them both into monsters as revenge against the Fentons for the cue, but the couple didn't really care, with Jack barely acknowledging he has children, and Maddie acting like they were never turned into monsters to begin with. Not sure about ages... Jazz is probably the same as her canon age, but if Danny is still 14, he looks 10, tiny and malnourished and pale.
Tim and Damian are trapped in Amity after an automatic system determines them as good test subjects. The AI filters out any cops, so that's why the police never found anything. The elavator brings them down into the city, showing a sweeping shot of neon in the darkness of the caves, and the boys figure out pretty quickly something is blocking their calls.
Tim gets super injured early on. I think, a Jack Fenton booby trap (that exclaims that it's a Jack Fenton Booby Trap moments before activating, which should be funny, but isn't when death lasers are being launched at him.). Damian gets captured, and that's when Tim is contacted by Vlad, who is our Atlas stand in for the game, only Tim immediately realizes that this man is sketchy af.
But unfortunately, in order to rescue Damian, Tim has to splice himself with Plasm. Maybe its for fire-wielding, or telekinesis but Tim can't get to wherever Damian is being held and, while torn, splices himself to save Damian.
Damian was kidnapped because his exposure to Lazirus Waters made a Big Daddy think he was a Little Sister, so it brought him back to the Casper Academy, which is where Little Sisters drop their harvests off in the care of William Lancer. Lancer looks after the girls because Maddie Fenton is too busy, but it's against his will despite him caring for them all. He's trapped in the building, can't leave or he dies. He's actually relieved to know that Vlad is still alive and trusts him, because to Lancer he was just a good mayor who was overthrown and the Fentons are the real bad guys, just look what they did to their kids!
This is where the batkids first learn about Danny and Jazz, although they don't meet them until a while after this. Danny actually ends up being the one leaving Plasm out for Tim every time he rescues a Little Sister. (Sidenote, they end up killing people while in Amity. While both do have death counts, the problem with Amity is that they have to use stronger and stronger levels of force to get people to go down, leading them to escalating and killing quite a few).
Lancer points them to communications to get their comms working again, and that area is run by Damon Grey.
At some point after comms are back on, the two learn that Red Hood actually came in after them after hours of no communication and has been captured by Maddie Fenton, who intends to turn him into a Big Daddy.
In late story, it's revealed that Jack Fenton was murdered before the cue even happened, and that the Jack Fenton they'd been communicating with the entire time was an AI assistant created by living Jack to keep his work going. The cue was actually retaliation from Maddie and the Jack AI for murdering Jack.
The story would eventually end with Tim, Damian, and Jason freeing all the Little Sisters along with Danny and Jazz.

“Red is Hood’s Favorite Color”
—Excerpt from my gift to therandomsith for the @valentines-core-exchange
Twisting his head to glance over his shoulder, he saw the man grinning brightly as his arms snaked around Jason’s chest. “Dick…” Jason growled threateningly, shifting his weight in an attempt to knock the man off of him.
“Jaybird let me go with you! We haven’t spent time together in forever!” Dick whined, shifting his weight to match Jason’s changes so he didn’t fall. Forget having jelly bones, that man was a fucking spider monkey. He was not giving an almost thirty-year-old a damn piggy back ride.
“I’m heading to work ,” he grunted. Grabbing Dick’s arm, he pushed all of his strength into shoving his older brother away to the side. Dick yelped as his center of gravity shifted and Jason smiled as he heard a satisfying thunk hit the ground. He turned as the other kids began laughing at their older brother's fate.
“Little Wing!” Dick whined, sitting on the floor pouting up at him. Jason smirked and flipped off his brother, moving to walk away.
“Later Dickiebird, I've got shit to do and I've been stuck with your annoying ass too-- agh !” Jason didn't get far, yelling when he felt a vice grip on his ankle before he went tumbling to the ground. He grunted as he landed, helmet digging into his face from his new and unwelcome position on his stomach. He ignored the kids’ renewed snickering as he reached up and pressed the hidden latches for his helmet, yanking it off and tossing it to the side.
“What the FUCK?” He growled, twisting onto his ass and glaring at his brother who looked like the cat who ate the canary. “Do you want me to kick your ass Big Bird? Think it'll be funny then?” He tried pulling his foot out of Dick's grip as he threatened him, but the man wouldn't let go. “Shit, I've got a meeting to get to dumbass! Let go of me!”
“Let me come to your meeting with you and I will.”
Jason stopped struggling, staring at Dick with a look of disbelief on his face. He waited for a punchline, but after a moment he realized there wasn't one. With a snort, he reached for his helmet and palmed it. “Hell fucking no, this ain't no field trip.”
“Come on Little Wing, I've been to your meetings before!” Dick pleaded, crawling across the floor to wrap his arms around Jason's shoulders in a hug.
Squinting his eyes at the man, he quietly wondered how far his audacity could reach. “Once, officially. Any other times you may have snuck in were to spy and you got your ass handed to you afterwards when I hunted you down.”
“Now, doesn't that just sound like a lot of work Jay? How about we just take it easy on you and make this official invite number two?” Dick sent him a winning smile, eyes crinkling at the edges like he just offered Jason free reign to eat his share of Alfred's sweets.
This is why he hated coming around his siblings.

DP X DC Prompt: The New King's Fright Knight
Clockwork tells the newly crowned High King Phantom that he needs to name a Fright Knight to serve and protect him. The title comes with responsibilities and benefits. The Fright Knight must defend the King and fight challenges by the King's side. If a challenger can't defeat the King's Fright Knight than they have no right to challenge the King.
Among the benefits of the Title are a custom weapon that can take any form the Knight desires and is capable of sending any injured by the weapon to a dimension under the Knight's control and design. It could be a realm of nightmares or a realm of cotton candy, or anything in between as the Knight desires.
Danny, of course, being some what infamous for saying the first thing on his mind immediately blurts out a name when Clockwork asks him to think of the person who makes him feel the safest.
The newly named Fright Knight gets immediately summoned into the Ghost Zones to be offered the job, no matter where they were or what they were doing.

Ghost Princess!Jazz design
So, since I'm posting chapter 24 of Friendly Neighborhood Vigilante, finally these will see the light of day!!!
Designs and drawing by the amazing @herbatahleb!!! I commissioned him these drawings so I could visualize the suit in my head better; and also so peeps could see what I'm talking about!
Thank you so much Hleb!
Tumblr media
Alt version that was scrapped during the design process and me rambling about design ideas under the cut
Tumblr media
So the Idea was that in this AU Jazz was trained by Pandora and the dead Amazon warriors in the greek afterlife.
Jazz doesn't use guns, not because of morality or anything, but because she sucks ass at shooting and is like the moment she hits the trigger it doesn't matter where she was aiming, she will cause an accident/hurt someone. (Weapons she doesn't have to actually aim are kinda okay, but you have to be ready for her blowing up something)
So she compensates and uses a lot of long range weapons, with her mom's staff being the one she uses the most. The staff has 2 settings: spear, which she uses for a more aggressive approach (think Okoye and the Dora Milaje from Black Panther)
Tumblr media
and War Mode, with the War Mode is the one that is in the final design. I sent Hleb a bunch of reference pictures and the lance is based on Ares' lance in Destripando la Historia (a spanish youtube series)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My general idea is that Jazz is inspired by the war god because she herself had to become one for Danny. She's one of their best strategist but she is also vicious in battle and the best at hand to hand combat and most versatile weapons-wise.
Her suit is also red because it stands out in the Infinite Realms. She makes herself a target so she can attract her enemies to her, since she can't fly or doesn't have a means of quick transportation during battle.
Armor is made for speed and agility, and it's charmed so it enhances her natural ghostly abilities and physique. Her arm pieces can project an ecto shield for defense.
For the crown I had a few references, but mainly Wanda's headpiece in MCU
Tumblr media
But also I wanted to include some kind of high fantasy crowns for her, because that's her crown as a princess. While Danny has the black metal one that's constantly on fire, Jazz would have this armor headpiece and only the "tips" would be on fire and then the actual crown appears out of thin air as a fire circle over her head.
For me this detail was important because it showed: first, how for Jazz her crown IS part of her armor and how deeply entwined being a princess is with being a warrior while Danny can be the king without the warrior; and second, to represent how "fake" as a ghost princess she is, since she's not actually dead-dead, because only 2 singular points are actually metal but the rest comes and goes and doesn't anchor to anything.
We also used a bunch of references of Kassandra from Assasins Creed Odyssey
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For the boots and other details I really just sent Hleb a bunch of pictures from the Wonder Woman movie Amazonian armor design
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyway that's all my rant. I'm very happy with the final design and Hleb was very kind to sit with me and let me be specific about what I wanted. Love you, darling!

Splitting Up and Coming Together
This is written for Dannymay 2022 day 11 - Blood Blossoms.
Maddie and Jack has found a great way to stop their food from coming back to life; blood blossoms! But why is Danny having such a bad reaction to it?
Jazz just wishes their parents would stop trying to kill her brother.
Also available on my AO3!
Word count: 2,570
I finished the short fic I published earlier, I hope you like how it goes! :)
-----
Jazz carefully poked the fried chicken with her fork, exchanging an incredulous look with Danny from across the table.
The stillness of the food in front of them was putting her on edge. Their parents had always been quite bad at keeping the ectoplasm out of the kitchen, but it had gotten progressively worse over the years; especially lately when they had been distracted by a new project down in the lab and only paid half a mind to what they were doing outside of it. It had gotten so bad that Jazz had taken over the cooking for the most part—something she would gladly do to make sure they were all as safe as possible. But tonight, they had insisted on cooking.
 And the food wasn't moving.
It was almost enough to make her suspicious, but the relief won out and she decided that not making the most of this miracle would be a waste. So she dug in.
After another second of hesitation, Danny enthusiastically joined her.
To her surprise she found that she actually quite liked it. She gave her mom and dad a smile and a, “This is really good!”
“Thanks, honey! What do you think, Danny?”
Danny cleared his throat. “It’s good.”
Maddie and Jack exchanged a pleased look. “I told you it would work!”
Danny gave a small cough. And then he coughed again. And again. He put down his fork with a frown and tried to clear his throat.
Their dad’s smile dimmed slightly. "Dann-o, you ok?"
“Yeah, yeah, I’m—” He was interrupted by another cough.
Jazz put down her own cutlery as she watched her brother worriedly. “Danny?”
"I—" Cough. "I don't feel too good. I think—" Cough. "I think I’m gonna be sick."
And then he bent to the side and puked.
Jazz instinctively recoiled in disgust, but her worry only intensified. Ever since the accident Danny didn’t really get sick. Not if there wasn’t something interfering with ghosts involved. Something was wrong.
Maddie immediately went over to where Danny sat hunched over and patted his back with a worried and kind, "Oh! Honey, what's wrong?? Did you catch something at school?”
Jazz sat frozen in her chair as she thought about their parents’ new fascination with flowers. Their past week in the lab, experimenting with them. Danny’s retelling of what had happened when he had run into a certain kind of flower before. It wasn't that hard to come to a conclusion.  "Mom? Dad? What's in the food?"
"It's chicken!" Came Jack’s happy answer.
They didn’t have time for this. “Are there blood blossoms in the food?”
She could see the way Danny tensed at her words, his eyes going wide beneath his bangs.
Maddie looked up from where she was kneeling next to Danny to give her a surprised look. “How do you know what blood blossoms are?”
Jazz usually tried to play dumb—to not let on in front of their parents on how much both she and Danny truly knew about things related to ghosts—to protect him and his secret. Danny would no doubt chew her out for this later, but right now she needed to make sure he was okay. She could deal with the rest later.
“Wow, Jazzy-pants!” Jack exclaimed with a big smile as he set a bucket down in front of a pale Danny. “You’re so smart! Maybe you are starting to take an interest in the family business after all!”
“Can you answer the question?!” Jazz fought down her panic to plaster a smile on her face and continue with a forcedly calm, “Please?”
Maddie nodded as she continued to rub Danny’s back comfortingly. “Well, yes, there’s some blood blossoms in it to make sure that there isn’t any living ectoplasm in the food.”
Jazz felt herself go cold.
“Smart, huh?” Jack puffed out his chest proudly.
Jazz met Danny’s wide and terrified eyes across the table.
“Yeah, genius,” Jazz said as she did her best not to let her panic show.
Maddie continued, oblivious to her children’s reaction, “We know how much you kids hate the food occasionally gaining sentience, so we decided to do something about it.”
Of course this was the only time they listened to them. And of course their solution only hurt Danny more. Of course.
And it hurt because Jazz knew that they did it for them. To keep them safe. But since they didn’t have the whole picture, it had backfired.
Danny leaned over the bucket with a groan and Jazz got to her feet. She had to solve this. And fast. "What would happen to a ghost if they ate it?"
"Don't worry princess! No spook will ever get close enough to eat Fenton food!"
"No, I—What would happen??"
"Well they would die!" Maddie said cheerfully as she rubbed Danny's back.
"Is—" Jazz swallowed down her panic and tears. "Is there an antidote?"
"Why would there be?” Maddie asked with a tilt of her head, eyes kind and completely devoid of the kind of reassurance Jazz desperately needed in that moment. “After all, we want to eradicate every last one of them!"
Danny heaved again and Jazz flinched.
"Aww, Dann-o!" Jack reached down to ruffle his hair. “Let’s get you to bed.”
A solution! She needed a solution, now!
Something that would stop this, that would make it all just go away. But it was already in his system, wasn’t it? If only there was a way to separate—Wait. "Where is the catcher??"
Jack looked at her with a startled expression. "What?"
"The ghost catcher?!"
"Why do you…?"
“Please!” And she must have sounded as desperate as she felt because they took pity on her.
“It’s down in the lab, next to the cabinet in the corner,” Maddie said with a patient smile.
“Alright.” Jazz gave a resolute nod and bent down to loop one arm under Danny’s shoulders. To her own surprise, she managed to get him up even as he was practically hanging limp in her hold; eyes vacant and a pained expression on his face. He did try to help by getting his legs under him to walk, but they didn't really cooperate. Still, somehow, she managed to move him—it helped that he practically weighed nothing.
Maddie and Jack followed behind, trying to ask her what was going on, trying to take Danny away from her but she tuned them out and her desperation combined with a flood of adrenaline-fueled strength—probably combined with some intangibility—made sure that they both reached the corner where the ghost catcher stood.
She was suddenly very grateful for the lengthy lectures their parents always subjected them to when it came to their inventions as she knew exactly how to activate it. And before Maddie and Jack could do much more than contribute with more background noise, she had showed Danny through it.
Fenton fell to the floor and Phantom flopped down beside him. Both groaning. "Uuugh."
"Phantom?!" Maddie exclaimed with surprise and anger and then she whipped a gun out of nowhere and aimed it right at her son.
Jazz wanted to kneel next to her brother, to check on him and see if her desperate plan worked, but instead she placed herself in front of their parents with her hands wide. "Stop."
By now, Jack had also managed to find a gun and was joining their mom in training it on Phantom, who was still on the floor. "Young lady, that's a dangerous ghost!"
"No." Jazz shook her head, arms still out. “He’s my brother. They are both my brother!”
Phantom rolled over to his side and Maddie made a noise of distress as she took a step to the side to try and get a clear shot. Jazz stepped with her while keeping her gaze jumping between Jack and Maddie. It succeeded in drawing their mom’s attention as she swore and said, "Jazz, step aside. I don't know what lies he's been telling you, but—"
"He hasn't told me any lies." And Jazz was surprised at the steel in her own voice, but she didn't back down. She refused.  "You guys stand back. You’ve already done enough harm today.”
That made them hesitate slightly.
Jack frowned at her and Jazz counted the fact that he took his eyes off Phantom as a win. "Jazz. This isn't a game."
She raised her head higher, kept her arms up, and said, "I am well aware.”
Maddie gestured at the human Danny on the floor with a frustrated expression on her face. “Your brother is right there!”
“Put your guns down and we’ll talk,” she insisted. Then she softened her voice and tried to appeal to their sympathy, “He’s not in any condition to fight. You can see that.”
As if on cue, there was the sound of retching behind her.
Jazz turned her head slightly towards her brother, but didn’t take her eyes off their parents as she asked, “You good back there?”
In response she got two chorused and matching groans, then a distinctly echoing, “Fuck. Yeah, I think it worked. At least I don’t feel like I’m melting anymore. You?”
And then a less echo-y, “Like getting hit with one of Skulker’s missiles, but not actively getting worse. So… win?”
Jazz felt herself relax slightly. Hopefully that was one problem dealt with, now there were just two left. Two still very armed problems.
She swallowed down her panic and tried to take a deep breath. She had to stay calm. “Put. The guns. Down.”
And to her immense relief, Jack actually lowered his gun slightly with a hesitant look at Maddie. “Honey? Maybe we can—”
“No,” Maddie said as she shook her head. An angry frown on her face. “What?! Don’t tell me you believe this?!”
“I don’t—” Jack began, but Jazz interrupted him with a resolute, “It’s the truth.”
An echoing voice from behind her gave a low chuckle that Jazz could hear the panicked edge to and said, “Yeah, I guess the cat is out of the ba—”
“Shut up, ghost!” Maddie cut him off, but Jazz could see the gun starting to shake in her grip. “And leave our little boy alone!”
“Mom, dad. Please,” the voice of human Danny pleaded from behind her. “It’s the truth.”
“Just. Can we talk?” she tried.
Jack looked at her as if she was the one who acted crazy. “You think we would talk with a ghost?!”
“You step away from our children!” Maddie added with dangerous anger in her voice, her hateful eyes still fixed on Phantom over Jazz’s shoulder. “Right now!”
They weren’t getting anywhere.
“If you don’t put your guns down you will not see me or Danny again.” She was almost proud of how calm she sounded, but she needed them to just stop and listen for once. And they must have picked up on how utterly serious she was because once again, she could see them hesitate.
This was their chance.
“Let’s just talk, alright? Nobody is attacking anyone. He’s not going to attack anyone.”
She turned to send a quick look over her shoulder to where human Danny  was helping Phantom to sit up. “Right?”
Both Dannys nodded and Phantom gave her a thumbs up. “Yeah, no attacking.”
“You think we trust the word of that ghost?!” Maddie stared at them, but at least her anger had been slightly diluted by incredulity.
“Maybe you trust the word of your son?” Danny asked, sounding desperate. “You know for a fact that I’m not under any ghostly influence right now after passing through that. And I—And Phantom won’t attack anyone.”
To Jazz’s amazement this actually made both of them lower their weapons slightly, and even though they didn’t let go of them, at least it was a step in the right direction.
“If you make any sudden movements, you’re toast, ghost!” Jack threatened and Phantom raised his hands in the air from his position on the floor.
“Come on!” Jazz was unable to keep her frustration under wraps any longer. She just wanted to go to her brother’s side, but their parents were making everything so hard. As usual.  “We were eating dinner together five minutes ago! This isn’t something new. He’s not gonna start attacking you now.”
Maddie scoffed. “You want us to believe that he’s been possessing our baby without us noticing??”
“He hasn’t been possessing anyone! You’re not listening!” Jazz could feel the tears flood her eyes, but she was powerless to stop them. She was just so done. “They are the same person! Phantom has always been Danny and vice versa!”
“That’s—” Jack hesitated. “That’s impossible.”
“Just like how everyone except you thought that ghosts were impossible??” Jazz shot back. She shook her head and felt the tears break loose and roll down her cheeks, but she refused to lower her arms to wipe them away. “I can’t believe you right now. Your son is hurt and you’re just standing here arguing!”
Finally, Jack dropped his gun to the floor.
Maddie sent him an incredulous look. “Honey? What are you—?”
Jack shook his head and placed his hand on her gun, lowering the muzzle to the floor. “Let’s focus on helping Danny first, alright? That—That should come first.”
Maddie stared at him in silence for a few tense seconds and then lowered her gun slowly. “You’re right. Of course.”
She didn’t let go of the weapon, but it was no longer pointed right at her son. Jazz figured that was as good as it was going to get. For now. So she turned to look at her brother—both of them—and asked, “You ok?”
Phantom gave an uneasy shrug, keeping his movements obvious and slow. “I mean I’m not being poisoned anymore, but I don’t feel great.”
“Ghosts don’t feel pain,” came Maddie’s immediate response.
Human Danny gave a humorless laugh. “Oh believe me, they do.”
“What are we gonna do now?” Phantom asked with a frown, looking down on his hands. “Am I stuck like this?”
Jazz grimaced. “Well, I guess we’re gonna have to… Get it out.”
Human Danny winced as he grabbed his stomach. “Oooh, that’s not gonna be fun.”
“Son, what is the meaning of this?” Jack looked between human Danny and Phantom with a frown. “I—I don’t really understand what’s going on. Are you okay?”
Both Danny exchanged a look and Jazz could see the conflict there and she felt guilt well up inside of her; she had put him in this position. "God, I'm so sorry Danny. I Just—I didn't know what to do. I couldn't let you just—"
“Don’t worry,” human Danny said with a kind smile that Jazz felt she didn’t deserve and then Phantom nodded and added, “I understand. Thanks for saving me.”
And despite her best effort to keep them at bay, those words brought the tears back into her eyes. Maybe she had made the right decision. Maybe she hadn’t fucked everything up.
Danny continued with a resigned, “I’ll explain everything,” aimed at their parents.
“Alright,” Maddie nodded hesitantly, “let’s talk.”
And at her acquiescence Jazz lowered her arms, turned around, took the few steps separating them, and scooped both parts of her brother into her arms, and cried.

A DC X DP IDEA #22
Back in my day.
Imagine dis…
Alfred is a whole mystery to the Batfam that whenever he pulls out his shotgun we are in awe at this kickass badass British butler, on the other hand, we are always in the shadows of his past endeavors. We all knew he was a S.A.S. Armed Services, fighting in 15 different operations between ages 18 and 20. A skilled medical and front liner soldier who was decorated. He later joined MI5, as well as the secret forces of the Queen and later being knighted by Her Majesty.
He is silent as he comes by, he can out Batman the Batman despite Bruce learning from the greatest assassin of all time. He is calm, too calm for any situation to the point your subconscious asks if he had seen something wilder, more insane to consider an alien attack, a mutant crocodile attack every Tuesday is considered somewhat tame, or even the rise of global or universal threats that Alfred seemed to brush it off.
So, who is he?
Alfred Pennyworth had always been a mysterious figure. He had dedicated his life to serving the Wayne family and their caped crusader alter-egos as Bruce Wayne's loyal butler and the revered keeper of Wayne Manor. But Alfred had held a secret for decades, one that would finally come to light most unexpectedly.
Alfred was a teenager called Danny Fenton long before he donned the perfect suit and tie. He lived in the small town of Amity Park, which was riddled with secrets of its own. Danny was not your typical adolescent; he had a strange encounter with a ghostly gateway that had bestowed upon him unusual and otherworldly skills. He had protected Amity Park from vengeful ghosts and spectral threats thanks to his power to shift into a phantom hero known as Danny Phantom.
Danny had just recently been crowned as the crowned prince of the Infinite Realm a week after he had defeated the tyrant Pariah Dark who had attempted to rip off a space in the fabric of in-between just to suck in his little quaint town. It was determined by both the ancient and the Observants that it was better for him to finish his mortal life before he dawns on the crown, as he was still growing, he was still considered a baby ghost younger than Young Blood as his death was still recent.
But slowly the thoughts that he had kept behind his head are coming back to him. Jazz his beloved sister as well as the one who had raised her despite being a child herself who had no idea of raising a child, may analyze her all she wants but she could never sympathize nor connect with his inner thoughts of being one of the halfas. He died, he never really had the time to process it because he had to face the Lunch Lady just a few days after the accident.
His friends, now looking at them closely, have seen that they both have some sort of guilt in their eyes. They both have seen him die amid the electrician, he can’t help but feel some sort of longing at the cemetery the north of Amity Park, he is too alive to have a grave yet too dead to be alive.
He thought he was getting there, changing the views of the people. To show the world that his kind is sentient but the people kept whispering. Shadows cast long by the looming specters sent chills down their spines. Every eerie wail or flicker of a ghostly presence filled them with dread. Their eyes widened in terror as the ethereal figures materialized before them. A hushed silence fell over the town when ghostly battles raged in the skies. Parents warned their children to stay indoors when the ghost alarms rang. Fearful whispers of the "Ghost Boy" circulated, both a hero and a phantom menace.
The ghostly encounters left scars of fear etched in the minds of Amity Park's residents.
In the end, he was forced to leave his home dimension, why? It’s because the GIW have become more vicious more brutal at their hunting, With the sacrifice of both his friends and family they have shoved him into the portal, never to be seen again.
All bloodied and still injured he had landed in a period in the early 1900. He thought that he may have accidentally traveled back in time but when he saw too many conflicting events that he had learned during his high school days that didn’t happen during this time led him to believe that he had traveled a different dimension. Small ripples in the water created a tsunami of change in what he previously known as the past, when he was still in the streets gathering information, he had noticed that he landed in the middle of London during the early 1900s. Good enough that child labor laws are still not a thing so he can work with practically anyone without questions asked. The bad news is that his supposed great-grandfather's version in this dimension had already died, according to his family tree history during his science project in 4th grade his great-grandfather went to London to earn a few bucks before traveling back to America where he would meet his supposed great grandmother and have children. Since he died before he even went back to America the Nightgale-Fenton line died with him.
Luckily a barren couple took pity on him and took him in, since Danny can’t no longer bear his original last name, he embraced the new name from this nice couple who had taken him in. Danny may have felt guilty at the prospect or even the idea of replacing his family but he can’t help but think of it as a new beginning of his life. No one to hunt down his ghostly half, No GIW, and No fruit loop trying to turn him into his heir.
Alfred Pennyworth
During this time he did a lot of odd jobs, cleaning the inside of a chimney, mining, selling newspapers… etc. Sure, it was hard work and he can’t help but look at the children far younger than him taking in jobs far more dangerous just so they can shave something to eat. He can’t help but feel too blessed when he was back in his timeline. Warn food to eat under a sturdy roof to keep out the elements as well as education. Things that were too mundane, too common, that he now feels like a luxury.
Over time he developed an accent as well as new mannerisms and vocabulary.
So, when war broke out on the horizon his core ached at the notion of protection thus signed up in the military.
Sure, he became the most feared soldier in the fields due to his using some of his ghostly abilities subtly. His enemies who stand in front of him call him The Vengeful Orphan, due to his avenging every soldier who seems to die at the hands of their enemies.
Between the ages of 18 and 20, he served in the S.A.S. Armed Services, engaging in 15 different actions. A decorated medical specialist and front-line soldier. He then joined MI5, as well as the Queen's secret forces, and was knighted by Her Majesty.
As time passes by the ages, slowly but surely. He had already outlived his adoptive parents and friends of his. He still held the authority of being the officially crowned prince of the Infinite Realms. He had already explored the world experiencing the culture and history of this world.
At this time, he had already recovered enough ectoplasm to turn back to his ghostly prime and create a portal to the Infinite Realms. But something in him nagged, his core kept trying to tell him something when he was about to take a step inside the portal, but he didn’t seem to know why. His years as Phantom and Alfred Pennyworth taught him to listen to his guts, and it saved him multiple times, without looking back he stayed in this dimension until his mortal life perished.
It seemed that he didn’t have to find it for too long as he was approached by none other than Thomas Wayne with the preposition to be Wayne’s butler.
So, when little Bruce Wayne was born he couldn’t help but feel a little fond of the tyke. He reminded Bruce of himself when he was just a simple young boy before everything. When the fated, night came he tried to shield Bruce from everything, to have him resemble a somewhat normal life.
That night he tucked in a teary-eyed Bruce into bed who had just witnessed his parent’s murder. He faced the ghosts of both Martha and Thomas who had been with the young master since the incident a few hours ago and tearfully promised the two ghostly couple that he would take care of Bruce. Both couples seemed to be in shock at their butler who had seen them but felt relief that their boy was in safe hands.
When his ward Bruce Wayne turned into a crime-fighting vigilante, he can’t help but softly snort at his outfit. Sure, he admits he had a worse outfit when he started as Phantom when he was just a young lad but he is willing to take anything other than a furry suit that fights crime at night. He has no right to criticize either since his alter ego is just him with an inverted color without a mask yet people seem to make no connection between him and Phantom, in his defense he is a young teen whereas Bruce is in his 20s. He just raised an eyebrow at his outfit and Bruce immediately changed the design to be a bit more sophisticated than just a Halloween costume of a bat.
So when Bruce starts to bring in orphans he can’t help but smile fondly as the manor is slowly filled with such joy from each child that seems to find a home in the large manor. He can't help but reminisce if this could have been his life if Vlad had learned to forgive Jack or if his parents and Amity Park just accepted him if the GIW didn’t exist. He thought one day when he was drinking tea with Jason, Jason who died and came back different, never broken. His grandchild who experienced his death in a slow yet painful way died and came back later. He knew there was something different with his grave but he chalked it up in being his ghostly sense sensing the ectoplasm around Gotham. He just wished he checked the grave even though it holds so much sentimental value to the dead.
Don’t get him wrong the moment Jason came back to enact his revenge on B he was already aware something was in Gotham he just didn’t know at the time that it was Jason. He is more than happy to kill the Joker as he had taken mortal lives when he was serving the army but Bruce might notice and he still held fear at the idea of Dan.
After the entire revelation between his son and grandchild, he just welcomed back Jason into the manor as if nothing was wrong with the boy and prepared his favorite dish and snacks in the library whenever he visited.
Now it had been a long way since he entered this dimension, now the long table at the manor is filled with guests and children alike. His grandchildren are full of life despite what had life thrown at them. Dick was the first one to arrive and started, Barbara followed, Jason who took off the wheel, Tim with his brilliant mind with his worrying caffeine intake, Stephanie who fought with his father, Cassandra who started just to atone for the sin of killing her father yet became loyal and caring young lady and Damian who started to learn what humanity is like. Sure others had been emotionally adopted but all of them all have places in the manor.
His grandchildren as well as his pseudo son kept throwing him curious glances every time, He managed to seemingly appear behind them to notify them of dinner. He can also feel the envy of walking silently from the assassin-trained children. He can feel Bruce’s stare whenever he raises an eyebrow at some classified cases that are supposedly secured. He can hear their whispers as they exclaim to one another that he supposedly knew everything, of course, he knew everything the manor became his new haunt after a few years.
He already raised an eyebrow at the simultaneous alarm from every vigilante at the dinner table but imagine his surprise when he joined in looking over the Bat computer as Oracle barked out orders and instructions, as a familiar opponent showed itself.
A green glowing monster is wreaking havoc throughout Gotham it came from Central City and marched its way here to Gotham which became even more powerful due to the ectoplasm in the air. There is already notable damage from both cities as the rest of the heroes seem to work together to evacuate and stop the creature. The JLD attacks seem to have some effect but it was useless due to its minions that kept them occupied. Oracle is so focused on the situation and doesn’t notify their pseudo grandfather to disappear from behind her.
The entire JL is starting to feel hopeless as the green creature seems to raze Gotham as if the stone road is made out of water. Every magician and heavy hitter have been called but no one was able to put damage to the creature.
When all hopes seemed lost, they all heard a loud bang from a shotgun.
Alfred Pennyworth is standing on top of a rubble of concrete and metal, the butler of Batman, the pseudo father, and grandfather of the entire bat clan, also known as Agent A. Carrying his signature shotgun and a thermos that seems to strap to his hip like a belt.
He kept firing round after round from his trusty old shotgun and pausing for a second to reload. He glanced at the heroes around and seemed to raise an eyebrow at the absolute massacre that he had just done to the creature’s minions.
As he paused to take another reload, he paused at movement and looked at the space in front of him and waited. The creature appeared roaring out in fury but seemed to pause the moment it laid eyes on Alfred. The creature seems to shake with uncertainty and fear. Every vigilante and hero present could see its eyes growing wide from shock and fear as well the cold sweat as Alfred raised an eyebrow at the creature as he slowly walked towards the creature with annoyance with every step.
Some heroes who had enhanced hearing could hear Alfred muttering about, back in his day blob ghosts were these cute and harmless things but now some up-start wannabe newly formed one seems to think he is all hot shot.
He proceeds to scold the creature as if he had just caught one of his grandchildren sneaking their hands on the cookie jar and proceeds to take out the thermos and effectively catch the creature. As if the one responsible for the mess never existed in the first place.
Now the bat clan has rules when they are in the manor or the presence of Alfred and one of those rules is that there will be no swearing when he is around, but there is one word that seems to resound from each hero's mind.
What the fuck just happened?!?!
Now as you know I started to post less, now it is both from writer’s block and class being in the way.
PS: If someone out there wanted to continue or make a fic about this you are free to do so, don’t forget to tag me though.

DPxDC fanfic recs part 2! (Part 1)
It's a Small World by halfagone
Sometimes you just need a goofy, fun one shot that throws the characters you like into a theme park and this is exactly that. I love it.
Security Guard? Nah, Blackmailed. by Olive_of_Vanders
Oli has a lot of fantastic oneshots, but I think this one might be one of my favorites. I just really love the premise lol; it's great crack.
A Little Overshadowing Never Hurt Anyone by Playedcrowdd5610
I absolutely adore the premise of this one. Overshadowing shenanigans are so much fun, and the specific way it's happening in this fic has all of my attention.
Knitting Connections by Aibhilin
This is such a soft, neat little oneshot. I love the POV for it and just the quiet scenes it paints.
30 Days of Kidnappings by Hyperintrovert
This one's just plain fun and funny, with some nice emotions and angst mixed in. There are so many kidnappings, as the name implies. Shenanigans abound.
Bat Ghost by Megaerakles
Twin fics have a special place in my heart and this is no exception. I love how focused in Amity Park this one is, and the background Superbat is a treat.
Queen Regent by Elizabehta_Beilschmidt
Gil writes a lot of great Jazz (and Hardcover ship) fics, and this one in particular is one of my faves. I might be biased based on the prompt, but I just love how this one is written and how much of a badass Jazz gets to be.
Wait a Second by Toriieffic
Mistaken identities mixed with sibling bonding-- such a great mix always. I love the setup for this fic and how it plays out, especially with Jazz and Damian's situation in particular.
Robin's Egg by Calix
Wonderfully written, adorable, precious-- with lots of emotions and angst along for the ride. I love fics with core shenanigans a lot.
Oh Northstar of Mine by Milaley
This one is so very sweet and tender. Dead tired ship has a special place in my heart and I love the relationship here with it.
Spelunking by SummersSixEcho
This is the first in a series and I think it might've been the first series I read from Summers (or at least the first DPxDC one). I love Danny's interactions with the batfam in this series, the shenanigans, the puns-- it's all so good.
Coffee Trip of Love by EyesOfCrows
This fic is just plain cute and fun. I love all of the pet names throughout it. I need to reread it pronto lol
Blooming Death, Please Love Me by Gremlin_bot
Hanahaki and blood blossoms? Yes please. I love blood blossom fics-- like a lot-- and mixing them with hanahaki trope... yes.
Another Duckin' Day by TheStarfishAlien
A lot of these on this recommend are dead tired ship, but like-- I love them, your honor. This one is just a ton of fun. Love some good pranks.
Wayne's Haunted Mansion by Tathartiel
This is such a sweet deaged/young Danny fic. I love the progression with Danny and the family with this, with the slow build of them earning his trust and figuring out more about him.
Danny Fenton's Guide to Scoring a Boyfriend by DisillusionedDanny
I just love the shenanigans and ship with this one. Enemies to lovers shenanigans abound. Dis has a Ton of great DPxDC fics, and while I haven't had the spoons to read most of their longer ones just yet, I love their stories and everything I have read.

Batty ghosts Masterlist
I've been responding to some prompts and posts with little bits of writing and tbh sometimes I lose track of them in the chaos so here is a sort of 'masterlist' I guess of the different posts I've responded to. (make sure to give the OPs some love!!). List below
Clone at the grave AU Bats find lookalike of Jason (danny) at his grave.
Dinner is Served Alfred beings home a young man (danny) for dinner after seeing him protect someone on the street.
What Protects from the Shadows a response to tourettes dog of the fenton fam going to Gotham and thinking bats is a ghost. Danny decides to protect the bat. I made a fic on ao3.
Getting eggs at 2:52am Jason in civies comes across the meta? Bats has been annoyed about at a cornershop/bodega The kid is getting eggs and is spooky
Polite Overshadowing Jason gets overshadowed in a polite way by a fed up ghost king.
Beast boy smells Death beast boy follows a boy that smells like death (Danny) and who tries to shoot a thermos at him. What the kid says is only more confusing.
The Franken Core au a response to someone's prompt/au where the GIW messed with the core of a halfa and an eldritch horror was the result. And jazz runs away with EldritchThermos Danny.
Rude Interruptions a cult summons the ghost king when he was on a date. He is not amused.
Wrong ghost kid Sleep deprivations result in Danny supposedly scruffing Dani, who was threatening some ppl with a sword and calming him down. Except he def had the wrong kid.
Arkham Internship Jazz is the interning at Arkham and a unphased badass about it.
Danny's Arkham Vaca Danny portals into arkham and isn't allowed to leave, so he decides to take a break along with making some new changes in the asylum's structure
Ghostly Retribution Danny decides to employ some petty yet unsettling revenge against one Joker while in gotham.
Smash the plate Danny is so very confident that he is not Bruce Wayne's kid, but a dna test proves him wrong.
No biggie Danny is a chill af manner calms down a pit enraged red hood leaving confusion in his wake
Pop goes the lazarus creature Danny pops out of pools of extoplasm when too much damage happens. One time it happens to be a pool right in the middle of a ninja and bat fight. And apparently this pool of extoplasm is sentient and very angry.
Accidental Kidnapping bat kids take home someone they presumed to be Tim, no one realizes this until 3 days later
Uncle Connie  Jack was disowned or cut off his family that were in the ghost/spirit field and somehow is related to John Constantine. It’s a surprise to find out that your somehow nephew is the ghost king.
Roofhopping Fenton Fam moved to Gotham and Danny decides that roof hopping is the best thing to do with the stress of it, even if he’s doing his best to avoid certain bat and bird-themed vigilantes.
Concussions and mistaken identities  P.2   P.3 Danny is dragged somewhere by Jack while concussed and ends up mistaking Bruce as his dad. Bruce mistakes him for tim.
Summoning an overwhelmed teenager danny is stressed to the max and being summoned to deal with a ghost problem he didn’t even know about is the last straw, cue crying.
The Kid There is a kid that keeps fighting Joker like a rabid animal in Gotham. it’s always on sight. including in Arkham.
Clockwork's Chosen: Danny gives prophecies and answers questions he shouldn’t know the answer to. It’s a normal occurrence at Casper High, but after graduation, Gotham better prepare itself.
Accidental Crime Lord    Ao3
Feral clown senses activate Danny goes feral mode when a clown is near, even in the middle of a conversation. Sam and Tucker have a routine for when this happened, despite how everyone else is so so very confused (including vigilantes).
Just a hole in the wall  Kon gets hit by a spell from Klarion and ends up punching an interdimensional hole to one ghost boi trynna sleep
Cadmus Clones Somehow Ellie and Danny were frozen for study by Cadmus and then found by the JL who think they are clones.
Sleepy thermos kid Danny due to circumstances falls asleep in the worst/best times/locations. Including one point just on top of Red Hood after helping him out by wacking the enemies with his thermos.
Skeleton Key Tired danny used the skeleton key and ended up at Wayne manor
Put a gun to my head Immortal Danny living in Gotham got caught up as a hostage and shot in front of the bat. but low and behold, he’s not just gonna let that pass
Reaper’s Dance Danny does an ancient ghosty dance to ease the lost/forgotten/dammed souls in Gotham after being taken by the Wayne’s after his family died
Powerpoint Intervention Danny was taken by the JL under the assumption of being a clone of Tim, and when he finds out it was because they thought he was a clone, he decides to hold an intervention consisting of a very long powerpoint presentation.
Star the Clown Danny actually ended up liking clowns when dealing with his feelings about the freakshow incident, so much that he absolutely hated the Joker who gave clowns a bad name. and what better way to make him pay then be a clown who interferes with his plans.
You lied  P.2 Danny finds out the Waynes are the bat and feels betrayed because now it feels like a lie (or so he thinks)
What came after the King  Pariah Dark is still the Ghost King and can be summoned, but what is more concerning is the creature that follows.
Ripped from the core  Danny was ripped from his core and in some small shadow eldritch form stuck in Gotham. Instead of trying his luck with the bats and birds, he decided to try it with a scaly guy underground.
Hit da bricks  After years of captivity and essentially torture from the GIW Danny lets himself slip into a fake world to escape the pain, he wakes up in the body of R-13, a clone of the robins from Cadmus, and then makes his escape. Except it isn’t actually a dream but real.  (I made three parts so far in response to Omni’s initial response to the prompt. they named the au and actually have their own branch of the story that you should def checkout!!)
Danny created the Infinte Realms
Stolen core Vlad took away Danny's core leaving Danny half of who he is, feeling hollow. Certain ppl at thr wayne gala notice.
You dare to touch the stars? Danny has been captive of GIW but what makes him snap and finally break free is when they dare to bring in the Martian Manhunter.
Here some smaller ones
Museums kind of suck possible idea of Danny returning items to their rightful owners
Pissed teens of Amity the JL doesn't respond so the Fenton teens decide to contact one Rhas al Ghul
Is Hood food? Three ways that the hood is lowkey food trope for one very hungry halfa kid could go.
Sup batty-yo Danny just keeps popping up where bat is on patrol, effectively concerning the man by the life tidbits he drops amidst just gossip.
A few of them I am def planning to write more and eventually post fics of on ao3. My user is Atiya_Blackcharm.
Anyways hope you enjoy 💚

Note
The Bats meeting the Fenton parents but on friendly terms/good identity reveal.
For whatever reason everyone is in the same room fighting of cultists when suddenly one of the walls crumbles down like sand because Jack figured the best way in was through the wall.
"No wall can stop a Fenton, haha!"
And behind him Maddie, a bazooka over one shoulder, happily taking in the damage her husband caused, "And it wasn't a support wall this time, good job honey, oh-hi sweeties!"
Jazz is trying her best to do a bat impression and dissappear into the shadows, Danny is just waving back at his parents happily.
OH THIS? THIS FUCKS.
Nice to have a good Fenton Family dynamic where they just are like “Aw sweetie don’t forget to eat! I have some food prepared in the fridge!” [takes a Fenton Chainsaw and cuts a massive vine poison Ivy grew in half like it was nothing]
Badass Fentons bring me joy. Jazz being mortified while Danny just fully accepts that he has the coolest parents in the whole world

Part 12 - it was just for fools
"We were searching for reasons to play by the rules, but we quickly found it was just for fools." -Mary On A Cross by Ghost
Masterlist Part 11
Tumblr media
Wonder Woman, with her extensive diplomatic training, was the perfect speaker to bring before the United Nations council.
There was something regal about Diana, something that demanded attention from all genders and ages, her accent smooth and light with eyes hardened with barely concealed anger at what brought her to their door.
The Anti-Ecto Acts.
Diana understood war. There was very little she hadn’t experienced where it concerned the subject, from betrayal to a very personal loss, but now she had another chance to draw from her past.
Prevention of a war.
Only fools would believe a war against the Infinite Realms, the land of the End and death incarnate, that which holds every afterlife for every belief, was winnable.
Every death on humanity’s side, was another solider for the King of the End.
That was yet another point.
The Once and Future Star King, Vanquisher of the Dark, Protector of the Light, Great One…. Was a Protector spirit. The spirit of a child who died wanting to be saved.
Diana sighed, awaiting her fellow heroes in the meeting hall, Black Canary, Superman and Batman (with his ever tiny Robin) were already present. Red Robin was sat with a tablet, reading through a collection of data instead of conversing.
It was almost seven on the dot, the meeting filled with nearly all members of the League, when Constantine portals in with a flask in one hand and a book in the other.
“Not a word.” He grumbles around an unlit cigarette held between his lips, unceremoniously dropping into an unoccupied seat.
Despite the surprise of John Constantine being on time for something, much less a Justice League meeting, Diana had other concerns to deal with.
Namely, the repeal of the Anti-Ecto Acts.
Tumblr media
An unexpected summoning was a shard of ice in her spine, twisting like a knife of betrayal in the nerves, utter agony. Jazz had little warning, little time to brace herself before she was hooked behind her navel and yanked.
Thank the Ancients she wasn’t in the shower, because whoever had the audacity to summon the Ghost King was not going to receive an eyeful for their trouble.
Jazz allowed her armor to materialize, a slick sensation of water down her back soothed the lingering pain of the brutal summons, but her back plate soon settled firmly in place and irritated the nerves more so.
Just as her helmet locked into place, sealing her fully into her armor, green smoke announced her arrival with a dramatic flair she couldn’t find humor in.
Rested on one knee, head bowed, the Regent was quite an intimidating sight for the uninitiated.
Her helmet, full coverage with a crown of green shards embedded into its pulsing ebony metal, only allowed the green tint of her eyes to shine through. Once her head lifted, the several shivers her gaze got proved how effective it was at unnerving others.
With a breath, the Regent stood.
Tumblr media
“You have tried to summon the King of the End, why?”
John Constantine was many things- a liar, a cheater, a non-believer- but he was certainly not a fool. He’d been against summoning the Ghost King, knowing full well to whom they would be dragging unwilling instead. Somehow the title of Regent failed to comprehend to most present, which was not Constantine’s fault in the slightest.
(Hey, at least he was mostly sober summoning, right?)
(Had to give credit where it’s due.)
Bats was unamused with Constantine’s first warning of ‘Do not fuck with’ when Phantom had first shown himself, but this was ridiculous really. A message was always better than trying to summon the King, who would want to be interrupted right?
Yet again, the Magician was overruled.
(At least he didn’t have to sell his soul this time.)
(The Phantom already gifted the glued together remnants to his Regent.)
(Morbid as it was, at least John knew it was in better hands than some half wit demon he’d scammed.)
No one answered before the Regent spoke with some amusement lacing her words, “I should have known a summon from you, Constantine, would be painful.”
(Was it a good or bad sign that the Regent didn’t immediately call him ‘Sad Trenchcoat man’?)
Diana politely interjected, “Greetings, My Lady. We apologize for the unfortunate experience and will endeavor to do better in future meetings.”
(Good old Diana.)
Tumblr media
“Greetings.” The Regent replied, helmeted head slightly tilted as she studied the others present before her, having been ignored for the time being.
Wonder Woman pressed a fist over her heart with a slight bow of her head as she spoke again, “May I introduce the Justice League and it’s founders; Batman, Superman, and myself, Wonder Woman. You are familiar with Constantine, who is a member of Justice Dark.”
“I am the Regent of the Realms, Lady of the Acropolis, you may refer to me as either.” Jazz intoned, serious as was only right for her titles. “I’ll ask once more… Why.”
Constantine, despite the familiarity he held with Phantom, shivered in the presence of the Regent. The owner of his soul could command he turn on his allies, zap away his free will with only a few words. Sure, he had some doubts that the Regent would, but that doesn’t mean she couldn’t. The AEA proved that the Infinite Realms had every right to declare war on the Living and its citizens would be drafted to fight in the Legion, regardless of mortality status.
John was many things- a liar, a cheater, a non-believer- but he was not a soldier or a fool.
He would be called to arms, as a magic user and battle-blooded soldier. There would be no choice, no deal he could make that would see his fate change.
It was fortunate that the Regent didn’t want a war, but there was only so much she could do to hold back the growing tide of angry entities that wanted vengeance on parents, siblings, and children taken from them.
(Ancients above and below, he needed a drink.)
Tumblr media
It was times like this that brought the Regent back to her long days of training in the Acropolis. The echo of steel against steel, dodging ecto-blasts, deflecting weapons with her bracelets, Pandora’s steady words…
Pandora was many things- Leader of the Acropolis, Guardian of Hope, teacher, advisor, so on and so forth.
Pandora might be a ghost, an Amazon tasked with guarding her box, a Warrior of the ages past, but she was ultimately the Ancient of Peace.
The Peace she never knew in life, war-hardened as she was. Raised with one hand clutching a weapon and the other an open palm, Pandora was a diplomat at heart. War had not been kind to her, but still, she taught her pupil (the Regent) the importance of listening.
Many issues could be solved when one took the time to shut their mouth.
Draw weapon, draw blood.
Aim at nothing you’re not willing to destroy.
If your opponent believes they have the upper hand, break it.
(These are just a few rules of war.)
(She knew them all by heart.)
(Each one ingrained on her body, scars a testament to a faith in her training and herself.)
The only rule Pandora had given her where to concerned Peace was this:
Reach for it, but know that hearts aren’t so easily swayed as minds.
It was why Jasmine never bothered trying to negotiate with the GIW. Their hearts were black and there was no changing their minds.
Here she was, summoned by the Justice League with their own diplomatic trained Amazon at the ready. Pandora would be proud of her sister-in-arms, because despite the Regent’s unknown threat potential Wonder Woman had not reached for the sword at her side. Instead, she’d done a traditional Amazon greeting, from one warrior to another, a sign of respect that Jasmine had not expected to ever receive outside the Acropolis.
“We had expected to summon the King, but were unaware of a Regent, my lady.” Wonder Woman spoke, but Constantine interrupted whatever she would have said next.
“We wanted to discuss the possibility of war against the living, Regent.”
Jasmine snorted, the voice-modulating function of her helmet made it sound funny to her ears, “Blunt as always, Constantine. You’re worried I would order you against your allies?”
The Sad Trenchcoat Man blinked once, twice, “Bloody Hell, you don’t waste time, do ya?”
“You possess the power to command Constantine?”
That question had come from Lady Gotham’s first Knight, steady with no discernible emotion in voice. His hands were resting on his utility belt, which was a bad sign of his current judgment of her character.
“For the sake of honesty, yes, Dark Knight, as the keeper of his Soul Remnants, I could command the Magician to do my bidding.” The Regent continued, “However, it was a gift and Phantom is fond enough of the Sad one that I wouldn’t use it unless I had no other choice.”
“What would constitute ‘no other choice’?”
Huh, Jasmine was starting to understand why Phantom chose Batman to give the Ghost Files too. She could feel the determination and protectiveness radiating off his soul, a familiar (though less powerful) sensation she only got from her little brother.
“War.” The Regent retorted, “I’m beginning to understand why Phantom would choose you, Knight.”
Constantine perked up a bit, “Didn’t you avenge him?”
“Yes.”
Wonder Woman came forward again, “My Lady, we wish to discuss the conditions of Peace between the Living and the Infinite Realms.”
Jasmine smiled a bit sadly, though no one could see it, “I would be honored to.”
Tumblr media
If anyone asked, Red Hood did not swoon when he witnessed his future wife girlfriend kick a man straight in the balls so hard he saw God.
Jazz was a beacon during a Gotham night, beautiful red hair seeming to catch fire with every light that danced across it, shoulders back and head held high his girl resumed her steady pace towards her apartment. This was a typical night for them, minus the would-be mugger and Jazz being unaware of the Red Hood following from above to make sure she got home safely.
(Jason hadn’t been able to convince her to carry a gun.)
(Nonetheless, he knew his girl could take care of herself, but that didn’t stop the worry.)
Hood wasn’t convinced about the safety of the area bordering his Alley, The Ridge,  with two relatively unknown metas acting as it’s Vigilantes and seeming to drive down the crime rate in the neighborhood to near extinction faster than he’d seized control of his own territory. It was odd that the metas weren’t crossing into the Alley, seeming to go around it and more into Gotham proper when they decided to roam, as if they respected the Red Hood claim more than the other bats.
(Wasn’t that just a hoot.)
(Two non-bats had more respect for him than his own family.)
The Ridge was the lesser known little brother to Crime Alley, with its residents being mostly three-jobs and a drug problem demographic, but with Phantom and Regent the area had begun to show a bit more life. Sure, most of the builds were on the wrong side of dilapidated, hanging on with duct tape and a wad of gum, but when it was just bright out enough- no matter the time of day- Phantom’s ice can be seen glinting from miles around as it curved itself around foundations and floors to stabilize the structures. It hadn’t melted in the slightest the two months since it’s been formed. Hood had even tried to get a sample for testing, but the ice would not budge. Hell, he’d even taken a cheap shot at it- nothing. Well, except for the fact that you could now see a bullet encased within the ice.
Phantom was a chill guy, apparently.
(Hood internally groaned at the unintentional pun.)
(Quick mental note made to shoot Dick in… well, the dick.)
Red Hood had been gritting his teeth against the warm sensations of protect-anxiety-nervous for days, sensing danger every time he closed his eyes. Something had invaded Gotham and was messing with the Pit.
No, not the Pit. The Pit was gone, no longer bubbling in his gut or green edging his vision, it was gone and replaced with something else.
Something that gave him trouble, but was definitely a step up from Pit Madness.
(And what a time for it to vanish, with Jason dating Jazz no more bloody nightmares when she was in his arms.)
He’d followed that ball of anxiety in his chest across Gotham, unconsciously avoiding Bruce’s usual patrol route and he climbed up to one of the gargoyles that kept vigil over the clock tower. Barbie hadn’t opened the comms to ask him what the hell are you doing here, but he wasn’t going to waste what little time he had with Phantom before he had to return to the Alley.
The kid wasn’t older than Tim, but was ethereal in his form that felt cold to Hood. There wasn’t any sign that Phantom had been hurt by the Drs. Fenton, but Hood was all too aware of how looks could be deceiving.
(The fuckers had vivisected him.)
With every word passed between them, had Hood confirming the Ghost Files information to be accurate as far as Phantom was concerned. He was a teenager, a ghost in Gotham who was under the protection of the Regent and Ghost King.
(Though incredibly corrupted, Barbara had been able to find a few frames of clarity.)
(Lo and behold, the death of those bastards.)
(He knew he recognized the armored figure, but couldn’t figure it out.)
(It was right there on the tip of his tongue.)
That same ball of anxiety loosened its hold with Phantom, a sense of protect-worry overwhelmed whatever else was in his chest.
Phantom was a kid, ghost or not, vigilante or not.
(No more dead robins.)

It took two days and twelve hours for Jason to finally connect the dots between Regent and why in Hell he felt he knew the armored knight.
Jazz was in her kitchen, hair braided and swinging back and forth against her back as she hummed and swayed in time with the soft music playing. His girl looked good in his Gotham Knights t-shirt, shorts revealing her toned thighs and legs, neckline of her borrowed shirt riding low enough to reveal several hickies he’d left on her earlier on the couch. Pride warmed his chest as he watched his darling Jazz, love for her settled deep into his bones. He knew she was the one for him, no going back, even if she didn’t know everything about him-Red Hood, his death, etc.
Jazz was made of steel and iron, forged with love and cracked with betrayal. Who had betrayed her in the past was obvious, her parents, their death must’ve been a mixed bag. Not to mention making the decision to allow their souls to be claimed by the Regent of the Infinite Realms.
He had no doubt she would be unafraid of his nighttime persona, but he didn’t think he could handle her judgment of his past sins. He loved her too much and wanted to be good.
The music stopped, dragging Jason out of his thoughts to find Jazz watching him with concern plain on her face.
“Jace?” She lightly called for him, helpless to her he rose and gently wrapped her in his arms, her head tucked comfortably under his chin.
“I’m ok, Jazz, just have a lot on my mind.”
His girl hummed lightly, the sound vibrating slightly through Jason’s chest where her head rested.
“Penny for your thoughts?”
“They’re not worth that much.”
Jazz pinched his side in retaliation for his lightly self-demeaning comment, but ultimately let it go. Another reason he loved her, she didn’t tolerate his bullshit. She’d been horrified to hear his comments about his self-worth, as much as he was joking, and had firmly threatened to punt his ass into the sun if he didn’t start getting a better self-image.
To his credit, he listened and began seeing Harley for counseling, which he knew he’d needed when he’d finally gotten a working braincell again after his dip in the line green Kool-aid. He’d put it off long enough, believing that the Pit wouldn’t let him remain calm enough to discuss his abandonment issues and mental health.
The Pit wasn’t churning in his gut anymore so any anger he felt was all Jason’s, and Jason’s alone. It was oddly satisfying to know that he was once again responsible for how he handled his anger.
Jazz never really demanded anything, only insisting on some boundaries at the start of their relationship when it was difficult to keep his hands to himself while she was in his sight. His darling was the same this why she set those boundaries so they could get to know each other without it just devolving into sex.
Sure, they have done some heavy petting and Jason definitely liked leaving his mark on her, but they hadn’t felt compelled to go further. Now that they had been together a little over a month the heat between them settled into a slow summer in his blood, no more threat of them acting like a pair of degenerate dumbasses with lesser brain function.
Not that Jason would ever be against having sex with Jazz, he loved her and wanted to know her in every sense, but he had to confess several things before he could allow himself to be put off guard with his pants down. The big Y-incision scar on his chest was horrific and Jason didn’t want to scare his girl away before he had a chance to come clean. He wanted, no, needed Jazz to accept every part of him- life, death, Jason and Red Hood. He was ready for her to know the truth.
What he wasn’t ready for, like last time, was the bomb.

A/N: Yes, beta read by @meditating-cat! Great beta reader, really appreciate the quick response and notes. Thanks!
We're gonna have a bit of a time jump between the summoning and the cliffhanger, which means that Jazz being summoned happens after. I wrote it this way for a reason... I think. Don't quote me on that.
Anyways, special red tint this time, because I just watched Death in the Family for the first time before writing this part and...I didn't like it. No, I'm not sure why I don't either. Jason is my favorite character for a reason.
Now, if you'll excuse me I'm gonna go read Wayne family adventures to make myself feel better.
Thanks for reading!
PS: 3k words???

I completely forgot about this but Jazz canonically knows how to use a grappling hook and can swing her way through a city with it (she used it to follow Ember's singing). It's just funny to imagine Jazz somehow getting her hands one of the bats grappling hooks and just showing off with it
(She also canonically knows how to use a whip (✿◡‿◡))
But yeah, it would be the funniest shit if she was like

"But she would teach them to fear her just as much. She didn’t need superpowers to take down some cheap second rate crooks. She had plenty of experience fighting people and ghosts who easily outmatched her in terms of raw strength.  She didn’t need brute strength as long as she could outmaneuver them. A flashy strong power was worthless against being shot point blank."
Chapter 13 from Danny Fenton is an Invasive Species by @going-dead
I was searching for some new fanfiction the other day and stumbled upon this story. I'm not a fan of My Hero Academia but the writing of Danny here reminds me of kid Goku from the OG Dragonball like how oblivious he is about his power level when he meets normal humans. The writing is really good and even though I know nothing about MHA I could understand what is happening.
Anyway in one of the newest chapters Jazz has a leading part and she does something like Gun Kata?! That was cool, I have never read that version of Jazz before and a few moments later I found myself modelling a Jazzmodel! I wasn't sure about the clothing so I modelled her canon outfit and additionally a jacket because it looks more interesting like that.
The villains are models from Mixamo. I don't know how they are suppose to look like and tbh I'm not in the mood to design and model characters from scratch without reference and they are only fodder villains anyway so yeah.
