ATYD Sirius POV had no right to be that devastating, and it's saying something that the saddest fanfic ever is canon compliant.

and atyd already destroyed me the first time so i don't know why i thought Sirius POV would be better, especially cos he was the most hurt, the most betrayed, lost James AND Regulus.

The only way they could have made it even more sad was if they wrote their deaths...

I don’t know how I handle this ship it’s too good 😭😭😭

Also grant Chapman is totally canon ok

(Also I’d like to say… I do like Remadora, I just love Wolfstar more Yknow? Like remadora just needed more time to grow, and the movies just like have them there doing nothing and teddy is nonexistent and it just could have been handled better… although I just might love tonks)

Today's @wolfstarmicrofic prompt is smitten!

"Evans?" Sirius' voice pulls Lily from her revision. She lifts her head, ready to shoot Sirius a glare, only to find him looking hesitant. It takes her by surprise. "Could I, uh... talk to you?" Never once has Sirius come to her for advice. If he needs to talk, he goes to James, sometimes Remus. Not Lily.

Part of her wants to say no and send him to one of his close friends, but she falters. Sirius isn't stupid. He would be going to James or Remus if he could, and he isn't.

"Five minutes," she answers calmly, closing her book. Sirius doesn't hesitate in pulling out the chair opposite Lily.

"Okay, right, uh... it's about Remus," He starts. "I just figured you were the right person to ask, because he spends a lot of time with you, and he... well, uh... do you know if he's- if he... fancies anyone?"

Lily narrows her eyes suspiciously. She needs to be careful here.

"Why? You trying to play matchmaker, or something?" She asks.

"Yeah! Yes, that's exactly what I'm doing!" Sirius says triumphantly, face brightening. "He doesn't really talk about that stuff with us, so I was just curious!" He seems a lot less nervous now, even offering Lily a smile.

The issue is, Lily knows exactly where Remus stands on romance, and she's made a promise never to tell Sirius. Namely, because Remus is absolutely, 100% gone for the man, and he's also entirely convinced that Sirius doesn't feel the same way. If he's really trying to get Remus a date, then she needs to shut it down.

"...no, he doesn't," she answers simply, moving to reopen her book.

"Oh. Okay." If Lily didn't just Remus' judgement, she would say Sirius sounds pretty dejected. Ah, well. It's probably about his matchmaking game being put to a stop. Before he can say anything else, Remus' voice rings out from beside the two of them.

"Hey, Lils, I was wondering if we could- Sirius! Hi!" Sirius' head whips around, and the shift in him is obvious. His cheeks have turned a hearty shade of pink at the sight of Remus, and the expression on his face is one that Lily can only describe as smitten.

Oh, wow.

Maybe Remus' judgement is a little... clouded in this department.

Sirius offers Remus a wave, and Lily watches the two of them, trying to figure out who's going to get their head back together first.

Remus wins, blinking harshly and turning back to Lily.

"Uh... the transfiguration homework, would you want to come to the library and work on it together?" He asks, and Lily nods.

"Yeah, sure. Two seconds." She starts to collect her stuff, shoving it into her bag. Right as she gets up, she turns to Sirius one more time. "My advice, Black? Ask him." Sirius' eyes widen, a realisation hitting him.

"How did you figure it out?"

She rolls her eyes with a smile, standing and starting to walk with Remus.

"It's written all over your face!" She calls behind her shoulder with a grin, before promptly stepping out of the portrait hole with Remus.

I like All The Young Dudes: Sirius' Perspective by Rollercoaster words better than the original

Reading ATYD Sirius POV after i saw this tiktok which was said "remus is barbie and sirius is ken" with the audio like "barbie has a good day everyday, but ken only has a good day if barbie looks at him" - and ive only read 20% so far but they could not be more correct!! Sirius is down so bad from the very beginning without even realising it

its actually quite good that i finished atyd months ago and can't really remember it because this is like rereading an old fanfiction without the bore of re-reading the same paragraphs.

and i can't really list out the highlights like i do with other fanfics (mostly jegulus) but it's just enjoyably well written with thorough developments for Sirius' characterisation and coming of age experience.

i was like 50k words in when i realised that atyd entails astronomical amounts of miscommunication which i hated the first time around. its too painfully canon... i missed when jegulus would solve everything. watching sirius and regulus' relationship fall apart so far was devastating, and i know sirius is the protagonist but like really, he totally could have still had his brother somewhat on his side. and i love regulus so that makes me sad and want to read jegulus fanfiction.

tldr; pros: so well written and developed, nostalgic; cons: miscommunication as a theme, canon = PAIN & SAD

generalised highlights

- Sirius being so annoyed at peter everyday lmfao

- the way he tried so hard to get through to remus

- i mentioned this last time that Sirius was such a sweet boyfriend to remus once they started dating, but from the very start, he was always considerate and protective of his more so than towards his other friends

- i love this author and i think it must have been fun writing this because the plot is set, and all the dialogue and chapters are set, but they still manage to come up with a full story and somewhat separate plots. I think this is an excellent example of "everyone is the main character of their own life." but secondly, they knew very well what they were doing. sirius was subconsciously head over heels for remus, and the omniscient reader (me) enjoys every second of it.

- sirius' thoughts towards mary so far are so funny i cant. hes like 'i should be feeling something but its just not happening'. boy is so confused. all her flirting and hes just *panics*. meanwhile remus puts a hand on his shoulder and hes like "ive never experienced something so good ever". oblivious gay awakening

i FORGOT this was the fic where sirius hit regulus with a bludger and gave him head trauma, and then sped all the way down to the ground to him. and IM DISTRAUGHT theres no comfort for regulus in canon. im going to have to read CR or OTB again after this...

sirius' life is just confusion, anger, confusion again, denial, convince me otherwise

Big on Wolfstar and Jily and Yazlene. Generally Anti-Snape, but open to discussion!

I like writing and making art, and I have multiple blogs but this is just for my Harry Potter stuff. This also might become an ask blog….. I dunno though!

I’m a Slytherin 🩶🐍

My blog is named after my main Harry Potter Oc, I’ll put a ref or something here when I get the time, but her name is Victoria Hope Griffith/Lupin. Her story is below, it’s called “The Rising of a Wizard Suffragette”— the name is mostly a reference to Suffragette City by David Bowie, because I love ATYD with my whole heart.

(Note: JKR is a bad person and I don’t support her. I work within MsKingBean89’s canon- well, as much as I can. I have changed a few things but Grant Chapman will be in it once I get there)
