Okay I need to talk about The Princess's Jewels for a hot minute

The Princess's Jewels by JYUN and Hong Cha is a webtoon that has garnered plenty of criticism over the past two years, and while I agree that it should be criticized, I don't agree with most of the current criticisms aimed towards it. Namely, the main character, Ariana. But before we get into the meat of the discussion you may be wondering what the hell the webcomic's even about. The Princess's Jewels follows Princess Ariana as she tries to become the ruler of her kingdom, partly because she doesn't want her aunt to rule it and partly because she wants to marry multiple men who she calls her "Jewels", who she also uses to help her gain more political power(she also thinks they're super hot). It's basically a reverse harem mixed in with a political drama.

The main criticisms I see most often lodged at the comic are as follows:

Ariana's a Mary Sue

Ariana is manipulative/a creep/pervert/slut

Ariana's boobs are too big(yes I'm serious)

The "Jewels" are Ariana's sex slaves

Now I feel as though these critiques are mainly rooted in misogyny(with the exception of 4, but we'll get to that in a minute) Yes, Ariana is horny, but I really don't see a problem with that?

Like yeah, a woman is horny, but these people are acting like she's insufferable for it. This leads us into the next criticism, that Ariana's a Mary Sue. Now yes, I'll admit, Ariana, by most people's definition, falls into the category of "Mary Sue". She strong, she's beautiful, everyone loves her and those who don't are the villains. Again, to that I say "okay, and?" There are much bigger criticisms(which we'll get into later) and this is the one you're talking the most about? Who cares if she has big tits and everyone loves her. Good for her, I hope she happily breasts boobily throughout the story. Moving onto the "Jewels are slaves" thing, that's just straight up a lie. Now assuming that they're using this first definition; "The condition in which one person is owned as property by another and is under the owner's control, especially in involuntary servitude."

I genuinely don't know that the fuck these people are talking about. You can maybe argue it for 2/5 Jewels, Huan Baek and Jade Melda(side note why the fuck is the blue character named after a green stone this will never not being annoying to me)

While the other three Jewels agree right away to be Ariana's "Jewel"(essentially her consort) in exchange for political power/protection, these two don't. Huan Baek out of a sense of loyality to the kingdom/its rulers who raised him, and Jade because he just straight up doesn't like Ariana at first. People use this as an example of them being slaves/Ariana seeing them as property but I don't see it. Is it because of the chokers? Is it because she calls them her "Jewels"?

The chokers, to me, feels like her giving her boyfriend a bracelet and telling him to wear it for her, and the Jewels thing is just an affectionate pet name. Again, would we seriously be having this conversation if a male character was calling a female character his Jewel?

As I mentioned before, there are plenty of other(more weighty in my opinion) criticisms to be had about this webcomic that I didn't really see being brought up as much. The darker skinned characters(namely Nell Phantom and Efrit Karsia) can both turn into/shapeshift into animals while the lighter skinned characters can't, which kind of comes across as a bit odd to me, especially when it seems to be a trait that only the darker POC characters have.

(Efrit also has a bird form but I can't find an image of him in it :/ )

There's also really gross fatphobia which I have yet to see a single person talk about

And(most importantly I'd argue) the artist HONGCHA is a pedophile.(Since the original google doc with the evidence from the og reddit post doesn't seem to be working, you can also watch it here, starting at the 15:10 mark.)

I'm not trying to say that the Princess's Jewels is this perfect webtoon, but I'd at least like to bring attention to the rampant misogyny I feel as though is dominating the criticism of this webcomic.

Dancing with the Stars Season 32 Week 6: Halloween

We are kinda late with this, but it's okay. I just want to make note of a few things. As the whole season has been, Halloween night was fine. It wasn't amazing. It wasn't terrible. It was fine. The level of dancing for everyone this year (yes, everyone) leaves a lot to be desired. And I think the judges are not doing at least two couples any favors by being extremely lenient with them. Also, I have already said this a few times, but I found Niecy to be an amazing guest judge. She was kind when she needed to be. She gave tough love when it was needed. She was real with everyone. She came having done her homework. She looked for specific things regarding technique and she was on point with all of it. I'm going to split this up into the top scores, middle of the pack and bottom of the leaderboard.

Top Scores

I'm going to start this with saying that I don't think anyone deserved a 10 this week either. However, unlike last week, I can see why the 10s happened. Xochitl's dance was fine. I don't like contemporary, so that's already a point against it. And Val has NEVER impressed me with his contemporary choreo. Like Charity last week, this dance felt oddly disconnected from the actual music and I'm just not sure why. She still has balance issues though the judges still have yet to call it out. I got the 10 though because Niecy talked about powering through an injury and all that.

Ariana I think had the best created Argentine tango that I've seen on this show in YEARS. I think the music added to giving us the right mood and the choreography was classic ATango. Props to Pasha for that. It might have been my favorite piece of choreography of the season (not performance). Now Ariana did well, but her legs were nowhere near as strong, sharp or precise as I needed them to be. Again, no 10 from me, but I understand Bruno's 10 for the very classic Argentine tango that was mostly fine.

Jason was the closest to perfect for me, but he still felt slightly off. Not sure what was happening, but he just wasn't as grounded as he typically is.

Middle of the Pack

Okay, so this is the point in the season that I have to tug on Artem's edges a bit. WAKE UP, MAN! Your partner is amazing. Why do you have her tipping her way through a jive. He has the same problem that Tony had where most of his partners kinda just mark their Latin dances. This jive was low energy and boring. Niecy was right to tell Charity to just go for it and Derek was right to say that Lele and Charity can learn from each other. The problem with Charity though is while Lele can and is making progress on refining her dances, Charity is not making progress on the letting go aspect. And again, that falls at Artem's feet more than her.

Last week was a breakout dance for Lele. I think this week was the week that cemented her as a legit contender, score be damned. It wasn't perfect but it was a very good dance. It was actually better than the judges (namely CAI) made it out to be. Yes, we need just a tad bit more refinement, but Lele is basically there. Ariana, Charity and Xochitl are not that superior to her in terms of performance or technique anymore. Either those three need to not be scored as high as they are, or Lele needs to be scored higher.

I put Barry in the middle of the pack because even though he scored lower than Mauricio overall, in my opinion, he had a much better night in his individual dance. As a performer, I think Barry is the best of the season. No one embodies a character like he has. No one commits to the dance like he does. He lost some of the grace and refinement as a result of this, but it was still a really good dance.

Bottom of the Leaderboard

Mauricio is gone, but I fully expected it. He improved but he is not the dancer that folks were acting like he was and with his fanbase being questionable, his time was quickly running out. To me, it was his best dance and also a perfect dance for them to leave on.

Alyson had her best dance in my opinion. Her timing was much better, she wasn't as hoppy as she usually is in her dances and she looked much more confident. Her technique was much more sound as well. Niecy was right about the grace and refinement. She is lacking that. But it was a definite improvement and it was a dance that made me sit up and finally take notice of her.

Okay so Harry is not as bad as many folks want him to be. He's not great. He's really not good honestly. But he's not terrible. He is trying. He is getting better. And he actually has potential to be a decent dancer. His big issues are that he dances very small. Between the way he dances inward, his posture kinda caving in and him not fully using his lines, it's a problem. He also just doesn't bend his legs when he dances. It's weird. It's almost like he gets out there and forgets how to move from point A to point B. I'm not a professional, but I wanna just get in the studio with him and work on that. I think fixing that would make his dances look a lot better.

Thoughts on the Marathon

So I shared some of this throughout the week, but here is a more comprehensive look at my feelings. It was actually handled much better than last season. It felt like they were trying to give a specific person more points (like it usually does), but they didn't go out of their way to crown her the winner if she didn't deserve it. Ariana probably should've been 4th, but she got 2nd. Meh. Not too big of a difference. Xochitl probably should've been 3rd but won. Again, not terrible. I feel bad for Jason and Lele being shafted. Usually they get the top 2 right, but after that nonsense last season, I will gladly take the top 4 being right. Everyone else went out about when they should've. I've seen talk about Charity sneaking into the top 4, but she just would've been 4th anyway, so it doesn't make much difference to me that she was 5th.

A few things. That was the sloppiest and worst danced marathon I have ever seen on this show. The fact that they ran out of steam that badly when it was also the shortest marathon that they have ever had was disappointing. I also do not like how they get the couples off the floor anymore. In seasons past, the producers would come in, tap them and quickly leave. The couple would exit the floor on the sides or into the audience and go onto the raised part of the stage. I did not like the pros, dressed as grim reapers, going to tap the eliminated couples. They did too much, took too much attention off the dancing and got in the way. I just want that to never happen again. Cute idea. Not practical at all for the competing couples or the viewers. I also don't like how they stuff the couples in the audience. Put them on that stage to lessen the chances of them running into the other couples. If a couple just has to go up the stairs when they get eliminated as opposed to exiting to the side, let them do that so that don't run into people.

I am here to deliver two things. First one is a promise (I think?) and the second one is me combining hermits/empire characters into Six The Musical as I am currently hyperfixated on both.

Alrighty, first order of business. If Scar wins this next round against Doc, his toughest opponent probably, I will either make the completed Contract oneshot I was writing (5k word minimum although it’s gonna be more around 10k prolly) or I write a 5k word minimum oneshot of the Oasis Au. I really need Scar to win ok?

Now onto the Six x Hermit/Empires.

I do want to clarify, that I am, indeed, talking about the musical and not the actual wives, but the way how the musical portrays them. Furthermore, I know there’s kinda two versions on Spotify, the recorded and the live. I’ll be talking similarities to the live unless stated otherwise. Also, I completely understand that these are all gonna be super unpopular opinions but I wanted to share.

Here’s the little list of who I assigned to who first and foremost.

Catherine of Aragon - Tango

Anne Boleyn - Scott

Jane Seymour - Gem

Anne of Cleves - Ren

Katherine Howard - Scar

Catherine Parr - Pearl

Now for me to explain myself

I chose Tango for Aragon mainly due to how she acts throughout the entire musical. She lets her emotions lead her mainly, quick to anger or to resort to violence. Not to mention her way of talking just screams Tango to me. And I’m not saying Tango is quick to anger, but the rage thing y’know. Plus, I could totally see him singing No Way for some reason.

My second choice for her would be Sausage, but I definitely feel like Tango just carried more of her energy.

Scott and Boleyn are honestly so alike it’s not even funny. They both just try having a good time but are so extremely petty. Like Boleyn never letting anyone forget she no longer has a head and Scott would probably hold things over people’s heads. But yeah, so similar personality wise although, I’d argue Scott is a little more patient.

Second choice was Grian cuz he’s short.

Next up we have Gem and Seymour! Seymour’s song is extremely emotional and moving (despite the fact I dislike it until like halfway) and in my opinion, Gem’s someone who expresses their love easily. And she is also strong, her love for people unwavering what ever gets thrown at her, she is just an endless ball of love. I dunno where else I was going with this.

Katherine was my second option, but I felt like she’d have a more kickass version of the song.

(This is embarrassing but I wrote everything else before realizing I forgot Cleves and Ren. Lmao) So, again, I am goung based off the live version of Get Down and just Cleves in general. Her character acts pretty dramatic, like when she was pretending to have a terrible life. And then her song is just really fun and upbeat. And well, obviously Ren is someone who likes being dramatic and doing bits of rp and is also really chipper and overall always seems to be having a good time.

Now you might be thinking Doc would be my second choice since he’s German. However it was Etho. However, I thought Etho fit better with the recorded version rather than the live.

Now you may be wondering how I got Howard and Scar instead of Howard and Grian. And the answer is quite simple, because I want to. Anywho, obviously Scar is extremely attractive so obviously people would wanna hit that. But he can also be pretty oblivious and naive, just like how Howard was growing up and being taken advantage of. And well, ig this kinda goes into DL, but Scar kinda becomes resentful with Grian abusing his kindness by having a secret soulmate just like how Howard becomes resentful of just being used as a plaything.

Grian was my second option cuz of Ariana Griande.

And Lasty, Parr and Pearl. Both of these women are so strong and amazing for what they had to endure. Going into DL again, Pearl deals with her soulmate abandoning her by loving something else and becoming independent while Parr has to give up her life for survival. Both of them are just so strong.

And actually, can’t lie, Grian’s my second option here again too. Why? Well actually, it’s cuz of the need to survive. Grian always feels the need to please others to better his chance of survival through allies just like how Parr had to please the king in order to live.

I know it isn’t the best arguments, and I’m sure y’all could find better people to pair. However, that’s just what I thought of and since I’m a maladaptive daydreamer, I think of this too often I had to share.

I love listening to music and hope to one day become a zoo veterinarian, as I care a lot about animals. For my relationship preferences, I prefer a lot of banter, either teasing or intelligent just something to either make me laugh and vise versa with my partner lol. Okay… in defense of the homewrecker.

The Ariana Grande hate is so crazy. I just feel like you have to be the most unserious person in the world to get worked up and feel the need to say something about a celebrity’s love life. Especially NOW. There are hundreds of abusive, toxic, physically harmful, predatory men in the entertainment industry and you can log on to see nothing but love for them! For FREE! Let alone every literal war happening right now. Yet this woman gets tangled in an affair and I see walls of hate everywhere. I don’t even care if what she did was wrong. I literally don’t. Half that industry should be in prison and y’all are yelling at her.

Let alone all the female artists who have made music very transparently about being The Other Woman… fucking baby daddies… etc etc. I feel as though she’s getting a misogynistic public punishment for presenting as a good girl figure and behaving differently. Weird aspect of the culture where indefensible behavior is more often tolerated when it’s openly shared.

Getting on a feminist high horse about jumping on Ariana Grande is laughable. The contempt for her is sooooo emotionally charged. I’m so surprised and confused by it. It feels like her biggest crime was daring to act like every other baddie while being 5’2” and I’m serious when I say that LMFAOOO… like… The amount of women jumping on it is crazy. They are speaking about feminism to hate on Ariana Grande. Girl we don’t have rights in half the states in the US. Ariana could steal five husbands and her feminist impact would still be greater than your comment. The fact that she did public democratic advocacy during the last election is literally enough to cover it. It’s like every woman feels as though miss Grande stole her man specifically. It’s giving traumatized. And I get that. But…

I have a really really really really hot take about cheating to add. To wrap up the whole topic… since I’ve been flabbergasted seeing the public opinion on every fucking website that I log into… listen. If anyone can steal your man, you should know about it. If you married a pathetic little worm, you should know about it. Instead of living your whole life convinced that your partner isn’t a piece of shit, I think it’s best to see what they’re capable of. My REALLY hot take is that the people who “steal” partners are doing a service. They’re the ones who reveal shitty character. They’re deep in the morally grey, to me.

Even though they might be doing it for self-serving reasons, obviously, there’s still a valuable function there. If a woman ever “stole” a partner from me, I’d thank her, key the guy’s car, and sleep really really well knowing that I’m not counting on someone weak. I wouldn’t even mourn what we had because it wasn’t actually there. If someone can’t even demonstrate a level of certainty with petty shit, I would never want to find out how weak they were in serious situations. Sooooo many men are horrible fucking people. If they cheat in love, they cheat in business, and elsewhere. The double standard is crazy there too. A woman doing romantic crimes is prison worthy. A man assaulting people though… just in his nature.

If anything, I feel bad for the women who actually want the cheating men they pursued. They’ve won a terrible life tournament and don’t even know it. The male validation is so strong, so addicting, that they can’t see the material damage that they’re causing to themselves, let alone OTHERS. If you can’t recognize that as a symptom of patriarchal poison idk how to talk with you about it. Feminism is so shallow in the mainstream that there is NO analysis if a woman’s actions are unsavory. Women hurt women because of men every single day. To be honest, if there wasn’t a baby in the picture, no one would give a shit about Ariana’s actions, and I haven’t seen that point made anywhere, either. An affair is an affair and no one cares. You hurt a woman? Who gives a shit. But now you’ve hurt a BABY? Suddenly the conversation turns into some bullshit about feminism. One of the most vile expressions of patriarchy is valuing a woman’s reproductive capacity more than her personhood, and this is no fucking different. Now that she’s reproduced, she almost deserves personhood. Outrage. Social commentary, even. Again— especially sickening in todays climate.

I just really can’t take y’all seriously. If it pissed you off just say that. But don’t invent a feminist argument to make yourself feel justified for hating Ariana Grande now. From that angle, there is far too much nuance to not make yourself look stupid.

Welcome to Whitney Huston night!

Billy Porter served as the guest judge and performed the opening number (How Do I Know) withe pros. Even Julianne and Alfonso got in on the dancing! But did anyone else experience some audio issues while he was singing? I felt like his vocals kept dropping out.

Anyway, the night continued on and each of our remaining stars performed routines set to classic Whitney Huston songs. Clive Davis spoke about Whitney and her sister-in-law Pat Huston was also in the ballroom, thanking everyone for the love for Whitney in that ballroom. After that, the stars competed in the dance off for extra points.

So who achieved a higher love and who almost had it all? Let's take a look!

Barry and Peta: Barry got some tips about his hips from his wife, who is a hula dancer. She also gave Peta some advice to help him. And it seemed to work for their rumba to "Didn't We Almost Have It All". It was a bit hard to see at home but the judges, who are closer, praised his hips so I think they saw more than the camera caught. Either way, he did admirably and should be proud to have made it to Week 8! Florence Henderson made it to Week 5 and Maureen McCormick made it to Week 6. So he's the Brady who made it the longest. We will miss his cheerful personality but I look forward to seeing him again on the finale.

Ariana and Pasha: Ariana and Pasha had won immunity from the dance-offs the week before and had gotten three extra points, which helped keep them on the top of the leaderboard. They were one away from a perfect score for their paso doble to "Queen of the Night" and boy was it deserved. Ariana keeps serving week after week. I agree with Carrie Ann that she could win it all and will root for her until the very end.

Xochitl and Val: Xochitl got the first perfect score of the season for her tango to "I Wanna Dance With Somebody." And she definitely earned it. She continues to improve week after week and shines in every dance. I don't think there's anything else I can really add here - just a reiteration of how awesome Xochitl is.

Charity and Artem: I'm amused that Artem made Charity run in place really fast to train her to get more energy for her Viennese waltz to "I Will Always Love You." But that's not really what the judges wanted and I think it was probably better for stamina than energy. I think Carrie Ann finally was able to voice the thing about Charity that's been hard to describe - she knows how to do the moves, now she needs to figure out why she's doing the moves so that she can convey that story better to us. I think Charity might benefit more from acting lessons than jogging in place but that's just my opinion.

Alyson and Sasha: Alyson spoke about having a lonely and difficult childhood. Whitney Huston's "Greatest Love of All" is important to her because it told her that she could love herself when no one else did. She poured all that love into her contemporary with Sasha and pulled off some amazing moves as she went on her journey to love herself. It was beautiful and I was not surprised she was declared safe.

Jason and Daniella: Billy Porter called Jason out for singing to the song but the audience booed that critique so I think most people find that habit endearing. Unfortunately his and Daniella's samba to "Higher Love" fell a bit flat. It started strong and I was impressed with how they danced down the stairs backwards. But I think something happened around the samba rolls that threw him off and he never really recovered, rushing to catch up until the end. I still think Jason can make it to the finals but he needs to be more careful.

Harry and Rylee: Rylee took Harry to ballet class to help him. It seemed to have worked somewhat for his Viennese waltz to "I Have Nothing." Their dance was sweet and pretty good. Nothing really spectacular but enough for Harry to handle. He may make it to the end given his popularity. I don't know if I would be okay with him winning but I do know I would miss his personality as well if he goes. So I guess we'll just have to see what happens next.

And now we come to the dance off. With Ariana exempt from the competition, the remaining six couples were paired up and assigned a different dance style as well as a Whitney Huston song. They performed and the main judges - Carrie Ann, Derek and Bruno - then picked a couple to win. That couple got three extra points. So let's see how it went!

Alyson and Sasha vs. Harry and Rylee: The former team captains danced the rumba to "One Moment in Time," the anthem of the 1988 Olympics. I personally thought Alyson and Sasha had more content while Harry and Rylee may have relied a little too heavily on tricks. So I agreed with the judges when they awarded the extra points to Alyson and Sasha.

Barry and Peta vs. Jason and Daniella: They danced the salsa to "It's Not Right But It's Okay." And both had high energy routines that were fun to watch. Barry, though, just brought a little extra - and not just because he opened his shirt to bare his chest. I think the rumba earlier loosened his hips because they were definitely moving this time around! And that was why he got the extra points.

Xochitl and Val vs. Charity and Artem: They danced the cha-cha to "So Emotional" and were evenly matched. I definitely didn't envy the judges when they had to make a decision this time. But I did disagree with their decision as I felt Xochitl was just a smidge better than Charity. The judges made comments about the fringes on Charity's pants so maybe they got a little mesmerized? Who knows?

Before the night was over, we heard from another record-breaking artist - Taylor Swift! She talked about how this coming week will be all about her music as she continues her Eras Tour and sent her love to the ballroom. Mandy Moore, the choreographer on the Eras Tour and a former choreographer on the show, will be the guest judge as the remaining stars dance to Taylor's music.

I am also going to note that it will also be the quarterfinals! We're getting closer to the end and I can't believe it!

I think in entertainment people just think it’s very easy to get in when it’s like reaalllyyy not. It’s not just money but it needs so much more to stay in the industry that’s why people who aren’t directly related to industry people with strong connections should be considered self made in my opinion. Everyone can’t be Taylor Swift even with the money dude like can you manage the lifestyle and shit she had when she was just a kid? I don’t think so man. I would’ve offed my self long ago if I went through what she has gone through or even what Rihanna or Selena or Ariana has gone through. It’s really hard to get in and become big and that’s why I think they really deserve credit because it’s easy to say they don’t have anything special just money but like dude you don’t know what goes on behind the scenes and like there are very few women as hardcore as Taylor like she is boss bitch you can’t deny that fact even if you hate her. Just because u have money doesn’t mean you’re gonna make it big is what i’m saying otherwise there are so many rich girlies wanting to be pop stars but they’re not going to be that bruh because they are not hardcore or as talented.

Yeah. There’s a reason Mohamed never bought Gigi and Bella recording deals - I��m sure he could but like it wouldn’t be very constructive. He bought Bella a face instead lol like that was a better way to spend his money 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

Almost everyone in entertainment has privilege because it’s a hard sector to go into like with absolutely nothing (obviously some people do) but it’s a nuanced conversation tbh.

Alright I feel bad about not expressing how much I love this movie so I made a list of some of my favorite moments/details:

Emma looking like she’s gonna cry after they announce they are canceling the prom and all the reporters are swarming her

The Eleanor musical costume and theater bits

Very grateful that they changed that line at the end of ‘Changing Lives (Reprise)’

Trent wearing his Julliard shirt for (almost) the entire movie

“You guys are the best middle age people I’ve ever met” First of all, I know for a fact that the bar is on the floor, second of all their reactions kill me

I once again have mixed feelings, this time about the coming out scene because it not being as public took away from the impact it had and how nerve wracking it would have been for Alyssa as well as Barry’s speech to Mrs. Greene not happening

BUT STAYING POSITIVE: Kerry and Ariana’s acting was soo good (return of good but it hurt)

ALSO angies face while she was watching it go down :O

When Alyssa goes to try and hug her mom but she moves away: >:O

When Alyssa hugs Emma in front of everyone: :D

Emma and Alyssa walking into the empty gym but this time they are together and it’s only empty caus they are early, its a nice little parallel that I just noticed

another small detail that I saw was Alyssa being the one to reach for Emma’s hand before they walk in

All the couples coming in is always adorable but this was even better

also the wide range within the couples was also a nice touch

KAYLEE AND SHELBY HOLDING HANDS WHEN THEY COME IN WITH THEIR BOYFRIENDS IS HILARIOUS TO ME

The moment between Mrs. Greene and Alyssa after they hug was amazing and Alyssa dragging her mom into the room

HAWKINS AND DEEDEE KISS!!!

They kept the “do not let me destroy him” but cut the corset line :/

I don’t know why but it made me so happy to recognize the choreo (especially that Alyssa danced during the boys part like always, I was worried they would change it and i’m glad they didn’t. it’s a little detail that I’ve always loved)

30 Day Challenge:Day 3 Topic

LET´S TALK ABOUT FRIENDSHIP

I can see this is a quite interesting but a bit sensitive topic for me. I just needed a time off to clear my mind so I can be able to cogitate on this familiar topic for everyone.

Let´s go straight to some few facts about friendship? Where did this word even came from?

So I browsed in and found out that friendship is a word of Germanic origin has existed in the English language since its founding in Old English. Back then, ‘friend’ existed as ‘frond’ which was the present participle of the verb fron, ‘to love’. The root of the verb was ‘fr-’ which meant ‘to like, love, or be affectionate to’. We can still see the remnants of this verb every day of the week- Friday or ‘day of Frigg’ is devoted to the Germanic goddess of love Frigg.

Whew, they are really inspiring isn´t it? But lemme give you bits of how I view and value friendship. So I´d like to answer some of these challenging questions I have found and that maybe can help me dig in to what´s really coming to my mind about this topic. As you read along, you are free to answer on your own and find out? Well, this is a writing therapy for me. I thought it might be nice to put my thoughts into writing and share it with you ( Well, only if you are interested to do so) But yes, this is entirely my thoughts. Some of you might disagree about my answers and what I have been writing in this little writing space of mine, but I don´t really care! As I have said, this is my therapy. If you judge me based on my thoughts, it´s totally on you and if that amuses you, well IT WILL BE MY PLEASURE :)

QUESTIONS ABOUT FRIENDSHIP

Can you describe one of your closest friends.

It´s so hard to choose which one of them that I particularly should talk about. All of them are special to me in their unique ways. But let me describe you one of my bestfriends, whom I met when I was an aupair in the first town I lived in here in Denmark. It´s funny though because this friend of mine, came to me by fate and the first time we met, we just click, you know. Like she´s that angel from heaven, who´ve brought me and would bribed me with food to keep me from not ditching school, because for her, it would be boring without me, and that she’d prefer me than the other filipino ones at the school. She would just call me and say, “Hey, wake up and get dressed. We´re off to school,and ahh uh don´t even say a word because I am already here, parked outside your house waiting for you. And, I´ve brought us Dinuguan and Pancit for lunch! Hurry!”.. So hard to refuse right? Oh yes, she is that kind. There are no other negative feeling around her, around us everytime we were together. We got along well so fast even at the very first day we´ve met. Since then, we hang out a lot. Sometimes cutting classes and going off to the second hand shop in town together or hit the mall, or just eat out in our favorite eat all you can Asian Restaurant. It´s just pure and honest friendship. I could sense she feels the same way too. It was never hard to be myself when I am with her. You know that feeling where you can´t feel any insecurities at all and you don´t feel that you are judged whenever you are sharing sensitive moments with her. I could say that is one of those few and rare friendship I have that I truly treasure the most.

Do you have any childhood friendships that are still strong today? Tell us about them.

I have a childhood bestfriend, and we have shared plenty of childhood memories together. I have been born in a family with no sisters so she is like a sister to me. Back then, she was living with her family in a house just a few walks from our house. I always spend time with her at their place when my parents were not home from work and she would come for a sleepover at our house during some of the weekends.. During my trip home last 2017, we were able to spend time together for a week. And still it´s as if things between us haven´t changed at all. She is still that friend who turned into family, and we assured each other that we we´re still gonna have each other´s back no matter what. Up until now, we´re still able to catch up, though I could say only through online. We both think we´re okay with the LDR thing. Haha!

Do you have any long distance friends?

I have, in fact, so many of them! As I reside now in Denmark, so the only communication we have is the internet. The first one I talked about she lives in the UK and my childhood friend lives in the Philippines. Most of my other closest friends are residing in the Philippines, UK, US, Australia, Canada, Japan and a few ones in the Middle East.

Do you think it is a good idea to borrow money from a friend? Why or why not?

This is a quite sensitive topic for me. But I do have views regarding friends and money matters. You know, in my entire life, I have tried to avoid situations involving friendship and money. I just don´t. I mean, I cherish people so much, and to ruin a relationship and lose a cherished friend because of money issues is a bit awful for me. I’d rather NOT. Just NO. 🙏🏻

Do you make friends easily?

I can make friends easily. And I do have a loud mouth. I am so excited to meet new people and talk with random people on the street and just smile and say hi. For me, it´s a bit of heartwarming when people comes to you, say hi, talk to you and get excited to know you. So I often think people would also want that. But given the fact that many people are too reserved, I also know my boundaries. It´s only when I feel like people would also wanna chat. I mean, like saying hi to the old lady beside me in a bus full of busy people. It could be lonely to be old, I think. Not many people are interested in talking to them. A few old people I met and talked with, they were all excited and thrilled to talked with me about their day, about their lives and jobs before and what life meant for them. For me, they have seen a lot and experienced a lot from all those years living in this world. It´s just compelling to learn from them!

Has a friend ever let you down?

I have experienced it many times. But based from it, I always try my best to understand them and listen to them more. Humans as we are, we often make mistakes. And that includes letting a friend down. May it be a small or a big deal, but friends that are meant to last, are the friends, who still thinks of how to mend things up than to make things worst. So a friend´s apology and forgiveness is always the best ingredients to make things last.

If the trust was broken, and there is no way you can bring back what you both have had before. I just let go and pray for them. In life you will learn who you should trust and it´s always gonna be the ones who will still be there for you despite the odds. You will learn a lot by gaining and losing friends.

Have you made any friends over the Internet?

I do have a plenty of them, with a few true ones though. But I do treat them as rare jewels that have helped me with my sanity being away from my family. I find it peculiar at first, but I have developed such strong bonds online, to take note that we haven´t even met yet! How cool is that!? Knowing and learning from a person you never met, sharing various experiences, thoughts, opinions are quite an overwhelming experience. When you get to know someone online, whom you can confide feelings to especially the things you can never share with anyone from your family or friends personally, was such a great help for me. During my first few months in Denmark, I have suffered a lot from a breakup plus the difficult adjustment phase I was going through by then. Living in a foreign country was quite a challenge for me. Even though I have my cousins and some few friends, but it was not enough by then. Because at the end of a tiring day, alone in a room, it was nice and comforting to have some people online, listening to your rants and cheering you up and helping you get your mind off the negativity and mind bugging thoughts and worries. I could say they are the ones I´d like to keep and hoping I can personally meet some of them someday too!

How do you maintain a good friendship?

I always make time to let them know that I still think and care about them. And of course, to never ever forget each of their special occassions!

How many people do you consider your "best friends?"

4 bestfriends; One is a bestfriend from my childhood years, one bestfriend from highschool, another one from college, one bestfriend whom I met in Denmark. 4 online bestfriends, one of which I already met.

What is a best friend?

For me, a best friend is a special connection between 2 people, where there is mutual understanding of each other, where there is a bond of trust, openness, willingness to care and look out for one another, despite the distance and circumstances. Where two people feel there is no need pretending, where they can both be themselves when they are together and where two people thinks of each other as their own PERSON to run to, and be comfortable with.

What is the longest friendship that you have had?

My childhood friend; we have been friends since we were so little. So maybe that´s what you call a friend for a lifetime.

What qualities do you think are important in a friend?

When you don´t get judged by the person and when they don´t talk negative things behind you and without you knowing.

What things should friends never do?

For me, I don´t like to compare myself with my friends. They have their own skills, talents, and own beautiful and unique lives. So maybe that is what a friend should watch out for. Insecurity and jealousy are both destructive in so many ways. Just be happy for a friend´s success and achievements.

Do you think it is possible to have a best friend of the opposite sex without becoming a girlfriend or boyfriend?

Oh, I do have a lot of friends from the opposite sex. I do happen to have one really close to me, so from a certain time, we were calling ourselves bessies. But, it did not last long. We both have jealous partners by then, so to respect each others partners, we agreed to have boundaries and thus avoiding conflicts as much as possible.

I also often get cringey whenever a male friend of mine that´s close to me, then we´ve had our bond, and then he gets a girlfriend, and i often get jealous, but not that I have feelings for the guy, but as a female friend, I just get jealous and often felt bad about lack of attention from him afterwards. So I tend to not get too close with male friends because I know it will just turn me nuts! But I am improving myself to just be understanding and to wish all the best for them! It is the best thing I could maybe offer to a close male friend of mine if ever.

Do you think it would be possible for you still be friends with an ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend?

Of course, but only if all issues were resolved. So it´s totally okay and possible for me to still be friends with my exes. I mean, they were also a part of my life and we´ve shared some good memories together too! I am teaching myself not to be bitter with the past you know. It´s good not to hold grudge on anyone especially when they were once the people you cared most and loved you as well.

Do you believe your parents should be your friends?

My parents are my friends. And so as my brother. It´s been like that in my family. It always feel better when they are ones comforting you than anybody else.

What do you like best about your best friend(s)?

They are still there for me, even if they are far away, and if I see them again, it´s still gonna be the same, no insecurities, no pretendings and no negativity.

What are some ways your best friend has influenced your life in a positive way?

One of my bestfriend´s view about God inspired me the most. We have the same thoughts and often go late to sleep talking about a lot of stuff about life and religion. That means a lot to me.

What do you do when you have a misunderstanding with your friend?

If it was my fault, I often offer an apology. And if it´s the other way around, I always show that I can listen and try my best to understand their reason and forgive if necessary.

What type of people do you get along with best?

I don´t prefer any types actually. I just sync in with them. I think when people are meant to have a lasting impression on you, they just do. Because I think the universe conspires the people whom you will meet. Some will come and stay, some will just go and maybe leave something for you to learn. So for me, I just blend in when someone comes along and get on with the flow. I always follow the positivity flow. If i can sense a negative vibe, I tend to not fully entrust myself. Though I give many chances to people, for I always believe that sometimes the people I met and how they are, if they mean or like that negative, is because of what they have been going through in life. May it be a bad experience or a childhood trauma. We should always shed light to these people and give room for them to be understood.

What quality do you admire most in people and which one do you find the most objectionable?

If I happen to met someone who´s mind is just as beautiful as their face or personality, and then it´s just natural for us to have a good conversation in a way that´s not awkward and trying hard. Then it´s my type of person.. I don´t care if we have different views, I am bound to respect all of them. It´s just when a person knows how to choose the right words and right thoughts in that certain moment, then I am going to be rooting for that person.

Tbh, I don´t fancy people who praises themselves a lot and think that they are always right all the time. And also, even when in an argument, no matter how big or small the issue, it´s always the tone of voice that matters to me the most. How you say something affects what you say.

Is getting along with others a natural ability from birth or does it have to be learnt?

For me, getting along with others is a continuing learning process. I mean up to now, I am still learning and developing my skills every day because I love to keep people who are worth keeping. And I believe there is no such skill that one can be born with a natural talent for getting along with others. It must also first be taught at home. The family is the necessary factor to develop one´s values of friendship and we will just continue to learn more and hone it as we venture out into the big world.

How important is forgiveness in human relationships?

I have been taught that it is an essential thing for us to grow and be matured. Forgiving is accepting one´s offering of peace and understanding that he or she have made a mistake and is willing to make up for it. And so as asking for forgiveness. We often commit mistakes and hurt people, that´s how human we are. So it´s important to lower one´s pride and ask for forgiveness, no matter how hard it may be. Accepting one´s own mistakes is an act of maturity, and i can say it´s also not easy but it´s necessary for human´s social growth and behavioural adaptability in the society.

Do you tell your best friend everything?

It´s funny because each of my bestfriends have their own unique qualities; one is better at the whole education and knowledge thing, other one is good at the practical thing and wise things, the other one I can confide some sexual issues and other emotional things and one I can have a good conversation about God and life. So basically, I don´t tell everything to each one of them but I go to one where I need their expertise and where they can also relate from.

Where is a good place to meet a new boyfriend/girlfriend?

I don´t think there is such a good place to meet a new bf or gf. It will just come to you as if the universe worked on it so he or she will get to where you are and bump into you. You just need to be patient. And if there is no one, just be your own gf or bf. What´s important is you love yourself and happiness is from, within you. You can still be happy without someone. You just need to unleash that thought in your mind often.

Hello moonbeams~! Writing letters is something I’m good at, because even if I stumble in all other forms of communication sometimes, my writing, my words never fail me. The overall negative energy, annoyance and sometimes hatred towards the pandemic, the social/political topics and the year in general can be very draining and or taxing on me and you all. Of course we’re upset too but seeing so much hate can be draining for people like me, and maybe you. So for a moment, grab a seat and a blanket and listen as I read this letter to you. This is a letter from me, to you, and I offer a blessing from her majesty the moon herself as well.

2020 has been one hell of a year that’s for sure. I experienced a lot of sadness, fatigue and overall lower moods as I tend to take on the energy of the world heavily. There has been so much that’s happened to us all, sadness, fear, anger, heartbreak; but even still we survived it. There were so many that felt we wouldn’t make it through this year or make it to the end as it felt like it would go on forever, but we’re here now, to write these letters, to tell these stories.

Even in this hectic year, I experienced so much, I felt happiness, joy I cried a lot and released so many pent up feelings, I came to terms with things I had locked away, I laughed a lot, I found passions that I thought were long lost. So much has happened to me in this year both ups and downs and I’m grateful for it all. You may be wondering why I would be grateful for downs as well, they helped teach me things, how strong I am; how it’s okay to give in and feel your sadness or pain; to validate my emotions; and a lot more. I hope that with all that’s happened you were able to take in some lessons yourself.

Below this cut, I wanted to thank some people who made my experience on tumblr as wonderful as it has been, more amazing than I had ever expected it to be. I came on here extremely nervous about sharing my stories and these people have been so warm and welcoming and honestly I wouldn’t have enjoyed my time as much without them. I’ll have my ending message at the bottom of this.

I know I say it a million times but since this is a wrapup letter I’ll share it again shortly. My blog was made for the main purpose of learning to appreciate my passion for writing and to not cage myself from posting and sharing my stories. I wanted to learn to write for myself and that posting stories in and of itself was the main victory, and everything else was the bonus, instead of thinking when people like it, only then is it good. I’ve done that before and having learned from it I now feel more prepared to tackle this. Thank you again for all the warm welcomes and the love I’ve received it still hasn’t quite sunk in for me and it feels so unreal. To know you all enjoy my stories and give me so much love, it’s crazy and it’s happening and I am so happy. I’m very thankful I took the leap of faith even though I was scared and decided to create this blog! 2020 challeneged me as well as pushed me and supported me. I experienced hard times yes, but I also experienced some really amazing things. I found comfort in things new and old, I feel like the quarantine made me come to terms with myself more, not run from things I wanted to confront and talk to myself more. I feel like 2020 albeit really draining in all ways, helped shape me and I got stronger because of living through this year. She went from being angry with Blake being a faunus and accusing her of being a criminal to defending her against civilians. She’s amazing.

unpopular opinion: She’s not a lesbian. Her attraction to men is real and valid and I refuse to budge on this. She’s Queer with a capital Q, Queer as in Fuck You and no one can take that from her.

The sentiment that having a man open the show somehow goes against their attempt at “giving women their flowers” is just a lazy attempt at criticizing the Grammys any way you can. Literally nobody cares if a woman or a man opens the show LOL that’s actually ridiculous. And by the way, how have they marketed this year as “giving women their flowers”???? That’s literally not true. Just because Dua and Taylor got a lot of nominations doesn’t mean that. Last year Ariana, Billie, and Lizzo were everywhere in nominations.

Harry is literally a decade into his career. His solo career has been 5 years long and he’s been performing for 10 years. To act like he’s “not ready” is based on zero merit. Go watch his Kiwi performances or his Medicine performances, or his Only Angel performances. He knows how to keep a crowd entertained and he’s also clearly going all out with opening the Grammys, so I don’t know why you think he’s just going to stand at a mic and sing. Also saying that his music just isn’t the sound you’d expect to open the Grammys is very weird. First of all, why does only one type of music merit Grammy opening status? Secondly, Lizzo literally played the flute to open the show last year - is flute playing considered typical Grammy opener style? No. She sang a ballad also. There’s many ways you can open the show and I guarantee Harry will bring it visually as well.

Harry had the biggest pop album of the last year by the numbers, look at the Billboard list and IFPI list if you don’t think that’s true. He had 2 huge hits, one of which went #1 and the other which peaked at #6. He has also had one of the biggest breakthrough years we’ve seen in a while. Lizzo had a breakout year in 2019 and then she opened. Nobody complained then because it made sense then also. Harry was also snubbed from the general field so having him open is a nice make up gift for that all time robbery. He knows how to perform and has been doing it for years. Taylor Swift throwing her hair around and singing off key doesn’t merit an opening act yet she’s gotten it plenty of times, so I don’t get your argument there either.

There’s no reason he that he doesn’t deserve this nor is there any reason that somebody else deserves it above him. He had a massive year, and on top of that he’s going to draw in ratings, it’s as simple as that. If you’re bitter he’s opening the show, just say that.

Ok firstly, you’re coming at me very aggressively when my answer to you was perfectly respectful to your opinion and polite. I literally said I didn't Harry was ready to open for reason A, B, C, D, E, so I don’t know why you felt need to tell me “YOU’RE WRONG!!!” just because I responded with why I personally felt this wasn’t his year. If you think it is then that’s perfectly fine. Some of us just simply don’t feel that way and that’s okay.

Secondly, considering that this is a MASSIVE year for female artists across all genres, I can see why a bunch of people was looking forward to a female opening act. That’s not weird imo. If you don’t care about who opens then that’s perfectly fine too, some of us do, obviously.

Thirdly, I apologize I misspoke and said he's 2-3 years into his career. What I should have said that he was 2 eras in and his first era wasn’t an all-around/global hit. (In terms of his career as a part of 1D, performing as a group vs. performing as a solo should not be comparable - 5 people carrying a stage and captivating an audience is simply shared work. Being a solo artist means having to do all of that by yourself.) FL is undoubtedly his breakout era, and I don’t think this era has really showcased his skill as a performer all that much either. Hence, I said that in my prior response that I didn’t think this was the era for it. Had the self-titled era been as big as this era and he’d been asked to open with ‘Kiwi’ or ‘Only Angel’ or even ‘Sign of the Times’ then I would have actually thought that was a good fit musically. No one type of music is suitable for the opening performance but FL’s songs, in general, don’t have a climax point, the bridge is stagnant. That’s not a critique on the music itself but when there is no peak in a song, that can dull down a performance. Also, no one ever said they thought he was gonna stand there and sing. We simply didn’t think he was going to deliver to the standard of let’s say, Bey, Kendrick, Lizzo, Adele, and this included if he danced around the stage. No one ever called him a bad performance, but we just doubt he could put on a show because again, that takes experience to figure out what works. Speaking of Lizzo, she is a songstress. Her performance hinges on her vocals and her music showcase her vocal. If she’d given an opening performance that consisted of dancing around and fancy props/effects, then it would have taken away from her strong point as an artist and that’s what people want to see from her. Harry does not excel as a vocalist to that level - most of us aren’t looking to him for that. Also, saying that there is ‘zero merit’ to is convenient for you when all of this is subjective. Hence, I said before this that if you think he’s ready/the right fit then no one can tell you you’re wrong just like you shouldn’t be dismissing anyone else’s opinion just because it contradicts yours. Also, I looked up the numbers for the biggest selling pop albums of 2020 and Billboard tells me it’s ‘folklore.’ I’m unsure how accurate that is but that’s what the site says. "Hi!" you said running to hug Ashton's siblings. You just were backstage with the boys who are going to play in Fire Fight Australia. Now you found your seat and you are so happy to see again the boys families, the only one missing is Mali.

"Y/N! We missed you so much" they said hugging you. You melted at that because you and Ash were here for holidays not long ago but you missed them too. You told her that you bring them a present from LA and they are going to love it. While they are trying to have a hint from you about the present you saw a boy you have never seen before next to Ashton’s sister. And she tells you that the boy is her boyfriend and Ashton’s mom tells you in your ear that Ash has never meet him in person before, so that’s why he is acting so shy and nervous.

"Don’t worry, I’m going to help you but if you promise me that you are going to take care of my girl’s heart” you said hugging Ash’s sister. “She is a strong woman but if it is necessary I will travel here”.

“Y/N I thought you were with my brother, ya’ know for his good luck kiss he says he needs” Ashton’s brother said with a disgusted tone in the last part. You laughed because he is going through that phase of puberty but when he will understand when he falls in love.

“Maybe he wants Cal this time to kiss him” you joked. You gave Ashton his kiss but earlier, you didn’t even see what outfit he is going for today’s show. Sometimes he asks you for your opinion, or help him with his hair, etc. He is been so excited the whole day and Australia is very good for them in every way. You missed the rest too so you catch up with everyone.

When it was the guys turn to play. The host called them to go on stage and you understood why your boyfriend didn’t ask you to help him because he dared to play shirtless. It is not the first time you see him with nothing covering his toned chest but you definitely didn’t expect that.

“Are you okay Y/N?” Luke’s brother asked you stifled a scream and he’s going to make fun of you for that when later you are going to try to deny it in front of Ashton. As if it wasn’t hot enough in Sydney, your boyfriend wasn’t helping.

You got up with the rest to enjoy the show. Thanks the universe that were just five songs because you struggled watching Ashton being a whole beast playing the drums. During the show people who were and were not fan of the guys commented about how good is Ashton, his energy, his talent, his dedication, etc. You are so happy for multiple reasons. You can’t wait to tell him the kind comments you heard, that later are going to be even more in social media standing out his job. Also the happiness is because people finally is recognizing his talent. This is going to cheer up him even more since a couple of weeks before he struggled with his mental health. It makes you happy and his loved ones to see him leaving everything on stage, having a good time and better with his own self.

Reunited back with the boys, Ashton is acting like he has no idea why you are looking at him like that. "You know exactly what you did, congrats baby you were a beast" you said when you hugged him.

"Mmm I love that you enjoyed the show" he said kissing you on the lips. "It is not the first time you said that to me tho" he keeps teasing, thank God he said that in your ear.

You were interrupted by Ashton's sister introducing her boyfriend. You gave Ashton a look to not to be too hard with the boy. Later is going to mention that your brother did the same to him when you started dating. It is a brother's thing to make sure and clear things.

Everyone went to celebrate with a dinner all reunited. These people already feel like your own family.

"Tomorrow is just you and me for a date" Ashton said when you arrived his family's house. You excused yourself to take a shower and then go to bed. Since the boys are famous, all of them bought a new big house to their families so each one has a lot of rooms, space and a big garden with pool, etc. You are talking to Ashton's siblings and giving them their presents when Ashton said he is going to fix his sister's car because his mom asked him that favor.

After a couple of hours, now it is late and everyone is sleeping. You are tired too but you want to wait for Ash. You thought that maybe he fell asleep in the couch so you put your shorts and go downstairs. But he is still in the garage fixing something in the motor's car.

He is all sweaty including his black hair and again, shirtless. You bite your lower lip at the view and get closer to him.

"Didn't know you know how to fix cars" you said.

"Well, in our first tour on the road a lot of times we had problems with the bus so everyone kinda learned" he said focused with tools and the car in front of him. "I'm almost done bae".

Ladybug's feet lightly thudded on the roof of Montparnasse Tower.

"Doesn't this seem familiar?" She heard a voice behind her and she jumped.

Chat Noir was sitting on the edge of the building, and was smiling at her weakly. "Easy, Ladybug, it's just me."

Ladybug. He called her Ladybug. Either he had gone back to his old/new habit of calling her by her full name, or he was too bummed out to be dishing out the nicknames.

"Yeah, it does seem familiar." Ladybug raised an eyebrow. She knew exactly why, and for two reasons.

This was the place where they kissed while having their memories erased and also the place where Ladybug had spent an entire evening patrolling with Chat after defeating Chat Blanc.

Of course, he knew only of the former (and knew better than to ask) and not fully about the latter, since she couldn't tell him without causing a time paradox.

"I still don't know what that was about, you know." Chat patted the space next to him and Ladybug sat down. "It was a rather sudden patrol you called that day."

She couldn't look at him. Instead she stared out into the night sky. "Can't I want to see my partner for no reason?"

That seemed to satisfy him. "Fair enough."

She let out a shaky breath. She had a very good feeling that if Chat hadn't been around to Cataclysm the necklace, Chat Blanc would have appeared, accusing her of even more things.

She couldn't think about that now. Chat Noir needed her.

"So... what's going on?" She asked him tentatively.

"Well, the mess in my civilian life has been sorted out. Mostly." He said.

"Really? Are you sure you don't want to talk about it, Kitty? Because I'm sure we can find someway to do that without going too far-"

"I'm sure." Chat smiled, nudging her with his shoulder as he sat closer to her, their thighs touching, then he immediately froze.

"Chat?" Ladybug enquired. "What's wrong?"

"I'm sorry!" He blabbered, throwing himself away from her a good few inches away.

"Sorry? What- I don't understand- what are you sorry for?" Ladybug was alarmed. Had the necklace's effects not worn off??

"I- I moved too close, I disrespected your need for personal space, I'm sorry, I won't do it again since you don't want me to-'" he paused when he felt Ladybug's hands on his shoulders.

"Chat. Look at me." She prompted.

His eyes flickered to her and just as quickly, moved away. "Ladybug, I've....been making so many forward advances towards you- and I'm so sorry for that! I would never want to disrespect you-"

"Hey." She shook him firmly. "Do you see me being uncomfortable?"

He gulped. "I don't- that's not for me to decide."

She slid her hands down his arms to hold his gloved ones. "Well, I'm not. Are you?"

He didn't answer for a moment. "I could never be uncomfortable when you're around."

"Well, that's settled then." She said firmly, pulling him back to his old position, much closer to her.

"Chat.... what's going on? What did I say in your visions?"

"I...um, it doesn't really matter. You and I both know the visions were fake."

"If you really thought that you wouldn't have jumped away from me like that." She argued.

"I'm sorry I freaked you out, Ladybug." He rubbed his temple tiredly. "I'm a mess right now, and you really don't have to go along with this."

"Stop that." Ladybug said sharply.

"Stop what?"

"Apologizing for how you feel! Kitty, if you can't tell me about the other people who appeared to you, at least tell me what I said! I can't go on seeing you looking like this!"

Chat turned to look at her worried face. She cared about him so much, even if it was never going to be beyond a dear and trusted friend.

He wasn't going to make the same mistake again. He adored simply being with Ladybug. He considered being her friend a huge honor. He always had.

He just...tended to take it for granted sometimes.

"Do you...do you remember Sandboy?" He asked quietly.

She flinched. "Was it your nightmare again?"

"Is it really a nightmare when it opens your eyes to something you would never have seen otherwise?" He said bitterly.

"What are you talking about?"

"Your vision told me....that I was never of help to you in battles, and that I always flirted with you even though you hated it, and that...that I just couldn't take no for an answer."

"Chat....none of that is true."

"You don't know what she sounded like."

"Well, I'm not her! And I'm telling you that you are none of those things!"

"Really? I have never annoyed you during battle? I have never called you Bugaboo and m'lady even though you told me to stop? I've never stopped pursuing you even though you said you loved someone else? I've never acted like....like some sort of a harasser?"

Ladybug wanted to slap him right then and there for how angry she was.

How could he not see how much she valued him?

No. This was her fault. She was the one who took him for granted. He would not be feeling this way if it wasn't for her actions. She still felt terrible for how she treated him during his first foray as Mister Bug.

"You're not a harasser, Chat. Stop calling yourself that." She spoke again when he began to open his mouth. "And yes, you have flirted with me, and called me nicknames and all that but.

..it wasn't exactly your flirting, it was your timing. And as for the nicknames and the teasing... we're friends, Chat Noir. You probably know more about me than my best friend and my parents. Of course you're free to tease me, and I do it to you too. Where is this coming from?"

"Well....um, I may have heard some people in my life as a civilian say how Ladybug is always uncomfortable around Chat Noir and that I always seem to make passes at you and make you apologize for things that aren't your fault....and they're not wrong. I've gotten unfairly mad at you twice because you rejected me and don't even get me started on the tantrum I threw when you couldn't tell me about Master Fu-"

"Oh come on!" Ladybug fumed. She didn't care how, she wanted to track down these idiots who made Chat feel this way and throw them to the surface of the moon. "You had every right to react that way then! You didn't even know Master Fu existed! How else could that have looked? Neither of us were at fault!"

"You know I almost gave up, don't you?"

"But you didn't! You didn't even say that you 'forgave' me after I sent Master after you, you THANKED me for keeping my promise!"

"What about the two times I was cold to you for no reason?"

She sighed at that. "You... shouldn't have gotten mad, yes, but you didn't even stay mad for long. You apologized, and you took responsibility for it! You didn't let your feelings come in the way of the battle! And.... speaking of apologies...I owe you one for being so short with you when you were Mister Bug. I should have been more patient with you. I should have tried to help you instead of lashing out at you."

"Hey, it's okay." He said. "If I were you, I'd be mad at me too."

"Chat..." She groaned. "You're not a burden to me in any way. I wouldn't be able to do ANY of this if it weren't for you and no sentimonster or villain is going to make me think otherwise."

"Sentimonster?" He asked and Ladybug realised her slip of tongue.

"Uh...um, I mean, that is to say-"

"What did the sentimonster do to you, Ladybug?" He asked fiercely, and yet, Ladybug could see his hands were shaking with fear.

"He..." She looked away, not being able to meet his eyes. "He cornered me against one of the lockers and....tried to kiss me. I had just fought him off before you had arrived."

Chat swore. This was just fucking perfect. Even Hawkmoth and Mayura had that opinion of him.

"Are you okay?" His concerns travelled to her. "He...did he hurt you? God, now I wish I gave him a proper punch before I released the amok." His hands turned into fists.

"No! He didn't hurt me, I got him before he could. And honestly, if you think I wouldn't have decked you if you tried to harass me, you're dead wrong."

She clutched his arm. "Chat, you always stop when I tell you to. You have never ever made me feel uncomfortable."

"That's not what everyone thinks-"

"I don't care about what everyone thinks!" She cried.

"I don't know what made you feel like you don't measure up to be the partner I deserve, and I don't want to get an answer out of you until you are ready. I'll just say this: I need you Chat Noir. I wouldn't be half the Ladybug I am today if it wasn't for you. I would've quit a long time ago if I didn't have you as my partner. I don't know how you manage to carry all the burdens that weigh me down like they are feathers instead of the rocks they feel like. You are irreplaceable and I'll never even think about trying to find another one like you. Everytime you feel like quitting, remember what I said. Remember that there is still one person who doesn't want Chat Noir, but the boy behind the mask as well. You are more than just my partner, you are more than just my best friend, you are my Chat Noir and I wouldn't want it any other way."

He finally looked up after her long speech. His heart thumped. He certainly wasn't actively trying to win her affections anymore, but that didn't change the way he reacted around her.

"You... really think so?" He held her arm.

Ladybug nodded sincerely. "It's like you said. Those visions are nothing but lies. I mean, were dealing with Lila Rossi." He chuckled at that Ladybug's heart soared. "I wouldn't believe them, chaton. You shouldn't, either."

"Can...can I hug you?" He asked tentatively.

She opened her arms out to him and he threw himself into them, clutching her like he was a dying man grasping for his final breath.

She hugged him back just as tightly, blinking away her tears into the crook of his neck.

"Thank you, Ladybug." He said, releasing her but leaving his arm around her shoulders.

She nodded, smiling at him through unshed tears.

"What did I say in your vision though?" He sounded genuinely concerned. "I really really hope I didn't hurt you."

"I...." She knew it would be unfair if she had him spill what happened to him and not do the same with herself.

"I... it's okay if you don't want to." Chat replied, smiling reassuringly. "The last thing I want to do is force you into doing something you don't want to."

"No, I want to tell you. Besides, if I don't tell you atleast some of it, who can I tell?"

"I'm listening." He said attentively, his hand rubbing her shoulder blades.

She nearly sighed at his touch but held herself back. Now was not the time to remind herself that she was too late.

"Well... first it was people I knew as a civilian....which I could handle, somewhat. But then it was Master Fu, telling me he was disappointed in me, and then Hawkmoth, saying he was coming for the miraculouses and it was my own fault I failed and..." She shuddered. "Then you. Wait, no, not 'you' you, vision you."

"What did I say?"

"Well....um...it was more of on your feelings? That you used to have, I mean." She quickly corrected herself, her cheeks turning as red as her costume. She knew perfectly well Chat Noir wasn't pursuing her anymore, he never said it outright, he chose to dance around his words a lot, but she could tell he had someone else in his life. Someone who was not her.

"Anyway, that Chat Noir said that I was only seeking his attention after he had moved on, and that...I didn't deserve to be in his presence when I obviously took him for granted so much-and it's- I mean he has a point, I was so oblivious I didn't even know you had feelings for me until that day with Glaciator-"

"Ladybug." He half growled her name. "I would never- you mean everything to me. I don't care if you are just my friend or my partner or even if....you are something more, I would still love you. No matter what. You don't have to apologise for anything."

'I would still love you.' His words echoed in her head.

No. Stop having hope. He's a taken man and you're NOT going to be that girl. He deserves better than that.

"I know that. I've always known that. It's just....I don't want to hurt you, kitty. Everytime I had to reject you, it felt like I was hurting myself."

His expression changed into something much softer. "I meant what I said. If there's anyone I would trust anything with, it's you."

She snuggled closer to him, burying her head into his shoulder.

"Why is this so hard?"

"What is?"

"Everything. I'm so scared of failing everyone. I'm scared of failing Paris, I'm scared of failing you."

"You're not a failure." He insisted. "Not to me."

Ladybug blinked. Luka was always ready to listen and he was the opposite of pushy, but she never felt inclined to getting around to share how much of the world she was holding on her shoulders.

With Chat, it was different. She couldn't tell him about an entire half of her life, yet somehow it felt like she was telling him everything, and she could trust him with it. He always understood how she felt.

"Master and I never got around to finishing my training. I don't even know what half the miraculouses in the box do! What if Hawkmoth finds me? And what if I'm taken down and I have to give up my guardianship and I forget about everything?!" She was bursting like a dam without water.

She didn't have anymore strength left to cry.

"I won't let that happen." Chat said fiercely. "In fact, you know what? I'm going to start journaling. I'm going to journal each and every one of our patrols and our battles, starting from the moment you became the guardian. And if you should ever forget who I am, you'll always have those to look back on."

Her lip quivered. What could she possibly say to something as sweet as that?

"I... have a diary of my own. I've been writing in it a long time, actually. Even before I became Ladybug. That could be useful to cover the aspects of my life that you couldn't describe."

His eyes lit up. "Good idea."

"I don't...." Ladybug choked up before she went too far and complicated things even more. "Whoever you're dating? Yeah, she's a lucky girl."

"Who... I'm dating?" Chat Noir sounded confused.

"Yeah?" It was Ladybug's turn to be confused now. "Didn't you always talk about this girl you're taking things slow with?"

"Oh. Her. Yeah...um, we broke up three months ago." He withdrew his hand from around her shoulders and rubbed the back of his neck.

"You what?!" Ladybug yelled.

"Hey, look, now all of Paris knows!" He laughed.

"Sorry. I mean.....how? You seemed really hopeful that things would work out between you two."

He winced. "We... didn't really work as a couple. I guess both of us were crumbling under the pressure to be a good boyfriend/girlfriend to each other that we forgot about how well we got along as friends."

"Chat.... I'm so sorry." Ladybug said sincerely.

"Oh, it's okay. She's still one of my closest friends, so there's no bad blood between us."

Ladybug smiled weakly. "That's... that's good, then."

"What about you?" He said, propping a leg up and resting his elbow on it. "Whatever happened to that guy you're dating? You barely talk about him anymore."

And that was saying something, since Ladybug barely talked about him when they were dating.

"Lucky coincidence, huh? We barely lasted a week before we broke up."

"Wait, but I thought you really liked this guy?"

"Oh, um... it's not him. It's someone else who I was interested in. And don't get me wrong, my ex boyfriend treated me with nothing but respect and kindness, but I felt like...we couldn't even talk to each other about things. Like, say for example, I'm able to talk to you about anything and everything."

"Uh huh." The back of Chat's real ears turned red.

"But with him...even though I know he will listen without any strings attached, I don't find myself wanting to talk to him about these things." She sighed. "Ironic. I'm supposed to be lucky but my love life is a mess."

"I'm really sorry that happened to you. You deserve the best, m'lady." He said absent mindedly.

Both of them froze.

"You...you called me m'lady." Ladybug whispered, hardly daring to believe it.

"I thought you didn't want to do that anymore." Her tone wasn't resentful at all.

"Uh, um, I, that is to say, m'lady, I-" he cleared his throat noisily. "I thought you didn't like me doing that. And calling you Bugaboo for that matter."

Ladybug turned red and looked away.

"Wait." Chat's eyes narrowed. He slid a clawed finger under her chin and gently turned her to look at him.

"I see what this is." He said softly.

"W-what is it?" Ladybug squeaked like a mouse.

"You miss it." He said, and for a second Ladybug thought he was serious before his face spread into the widest grin ever. "You ACTUALLY miss me calling you those things! I knew it! I knew they'd grow on you!"

Ladybug pushed his stupid, smug, cocky face away from her and gave him a deadly glare.

"Not another word." She threatened.

"Word." He quipped and Ladybug groaned loudly.

"Why is this happening to me??? Why did I have to give your already bloated ego another huge boost?"

To an outsider, her remark may have seemed condescending, but Chat only laughed. He knew when she was joking around with him, and this was one of those times.

"Bugaboo..." He cooed, poking her shoulder annoyingly. "Bugaboo, Bugaboo, Bugaboo-"

"Stop calling me-"

"But when I did, it didn't stop you from missing it, did it m'lady?" He smirked.

"Okay, fine! You're right! I did miss you calling me m'lady, and even though I never said it that name made me feel unique and special but if I told you, you would hold it over my head for the rest of my life! And 'Bugaboo' is a cheesy, annoying, childish, horribly punned nickname and at one point I HATED you calling me that and I still do, but-" her chest heaved.

Chat was grinning smugly throughout all this, but when she paused, his cocky expression melted away when her annoyed one did.

"-but, I miss it. I still miss it. I miss scolding you to not call me that. I miss you punning in battles. You don't do it as often as you used to do."

"I thought you disliked them." He said slowly, realising how much he was learning about his lady in one night than he did in the one year he had known her.

"I did. And I miss disliking them. I miss your stupid jokes. I miss me responding to them. I miss being the Ladybug that I used to be, without the guardianship and extra responsibilities. I miss being the Ladybug that I used to be with you. I miss you, Chat Noir, even though you've been right at my side and always had my back when I needed it."

Chat swallowed, not knowing what to say.

But she was right. The last three months they had grown closer, but there was still a huge barrier between them that had been building itself.

He was being more cautious enough to not upset her.

And from what she said, she was trying so hard to pretend like nothing had changed between them.

"M'lady, you're still you. I don't see you as anyone any different than the person I met. You let your guard down in front of me only twice, remember?" He didn't realise how easily he had fallen back to his old habit of calling her 'm'lady'.

She nodded. "Yeah."

"And both times, you still went out there and kicked butt-"

"WE did." She corrected.

"Fine," he smiled. "We did. We went out there and kicked butt, when you were still feeling overwhelmed and scared. It's not you has changed for the worse, Bugaboo, it's our surroundings."

"Yeah..." She turned back to look at the moon, shining brightly against the night sky. "It's hard to believe that Master Fu was here and the Miracle box was safer from capture and that Chloe didn't turn out to betray us not three months ago. Everything has changed."

And a lot for the worse, but a lot more for the good too.

"I don't want us to change, m'lady." Chat said, looking so intently at her it prompted her to tear her eyes away from the moon. "I know I've been a little distant these past few months, but that was only because I didn't want to lose you by upsetting you. But you should know, I miss us too. I miss when things weren't so bleak and we could enjoy some down time once we finished kicking an akuma's butt."

Then his voice grew deeper. "But... it's like you said that day in front of Hawkmoth. We are changing the world for better. Through our actions and just not wishing them away like Butterfly Man does."

Ladybug giggled a little at the nickname before realising something. "Wait, that's almost exactly what I said. I didn't know you were so good at verbatim."

"It's a gift, Bugaboo." Chat eyed her. "If anything, things are going to get worse."

"Today was a particularly close call." She agreed.

"Even if the world changes, I don't want us to change. I don't know what I would do if....you ever hated me. That's what I'm most scared of among other things." He admitted.

"That's never going to happen, you silly kitty." She retorted.

He smiled. "I know that now."

She took his hand in hers and squeezed it. "I've grown up a lot over the past few months and believe me, I am pretty sure I could superhero my way out of things without my powers but now? What I'm most afraid of is ending up alone. And losing all the people I love."

"That won't happen either." He said.

"How do you know that? With how unpredictable everything is?" Ladybug asked.

He winked rougishly, squeezing their entwined hands. "My feline instincts. They're legendary, remember?"

Ladybug laughed. Truly laughed since a long, long time. She would never stop saying his jokes were lame, but she knew she would never not laugh at them either.

"Looks like the cat is in a better mood." She flicked his bell and he grinned. It gave Ladybug a sense of personal satisfaction that she was the only one he ever allowed to touch his bell. She couldn't get the image of him actually hissing at Chloe when she flicked his bell to get his attention.

"Thanks to his lady, that is. Don't give me all the credit." He chuckled.

Blue eyes met green, blazing ones for a long time. The air wasn't wrought with tension of the worried or even the romantic kind. Everything felt peaceful and calm. It felt like being able to take a huge breath of fresh air after being restricted from breathing for a long time.

"I know you will hold this over my head for a long time..."

"I don't even know what 'this' is, but I already know I will." He said cheekily.

She mock glared at him before continuing, "Please don't stop calling me m'lady or even B-" she hesitated.

"Say it. I know you can say it."

"Bugaboo. I didn't realise just how much those things had grown on me until I didn't get to hear them."

"Well, if that's what my lady wants, this cat has nothing better to do than oblige." He phrased it like a joke, but he nodded seriously.

For a single moment, Ladybug let herself forget about Lila, about her friends, about her lingering feelings for Adrien, about the Miracle box, about Hawkmoth, about just about everything else except Chat Noir who had been a huge part of her life as a superhero, through all the ups and downs, no matter what. He was the difference between her wins and her losses. There was truly no way she could do this without him.

"You and me against the world?" He lifted up their still joined hands.

Ladybug smiled, reached up to press a soft kiss against his cheek and laid her head on his shoulder. A soft purr emanated from him as he rest his head on the top of hers.

"As always, kitty." She replied.
