This is unrelated to the couples but on the anxiety and depression topic. In my head, two anxious people get each other so they could make things work. I don’t think they would get mad at each other when one of them is going through something. While I feel like two people with depression wouldn’t have the energy to deal with each other? I think a person with depression would work better with someone who has minimal mental health issues, who can be mentally strong enough to be there for them. While I feel like a person with none/minimal mental health issues wouldn’t get someone with anxiety and would find them annoying? I just feel like depression looks and sounds more serious while anxiety sounds like you’re just being annoying because you’re always stressing over things that don’t matter

I hope this doesn’t sound like I’m judging anyone; both are very real and hard to deal with but I’m assuming all of us struggle with some form of either and I think we can joke about it

idk my ex struggled with mood sometimes and had major anxiety and I would take her pills for that sometimes because they’d make me feel chill if I wasn’t feeling chill (never been diagnosed with anxiety). Anxious/moody x depressed/ED/subsequently diagnosed pda didn’t gel (I mean it did for a long time when we were new and exciting lol). Mental health challenges are hard. See a therapist. If you’re in a relationship, see a couples therapist also - I see both every week.

I know that’s not necessarily affordable but 🤷🏻‍♀️ if you can. It’s good.

A good point was brought up because it was surprisingly hard to come up with something an analogy that works, but what came to mind was that you don’t use the expensive wine for cooking (well, fancy people do but not me). But it doesn’t work that well because the focus should be on what you do with the expensive wine. So it should be “you drink the expensive wine, you don’t use it for cooking” but I don’t know that drinking the wine works as well as an analogy for that situation and it took me way too long to come up with it

To be fair, I don’t think he was trying to compare her to a Ferrari. He was trying to say that when you have a great actor you have to give them great things to do, and the only thing he could come up with to compare it at that moment was the cars. I get it because I’m also very bad at analogies and even now I tried to make an analogy for it myself when I explained it and I could only come up with cleaning products, which is probably worse than the cars. All in all, I think the point he was trying to make was really sweet and the bad analogy made him more relatable to me.
