marauders era unpopular opinions, once more
i really don’t like fanon regulus. i don’t like him being helpless and kind and a sirius variant. he’s morally grey, leaning towards morally dark, he’s selfish, he agreed to his parents’ and voldemort’s ideologies, having joined the death eaters most likely by his own will (unlike draco malfoy). but obviously, everyone is allowed to characterise characters the very way they want to
and while we’re on it, i don’t like evan and barty either, for the same reason. maybe i would, if they were realistically characterised (i LOVE reading morally grey or morally dark(er) characters), and once again, i believe that just because one likes a character, that doesn’t always mean that the character is a good person
and continuing on the same topic, the sunshine james potter, although being a topic that i like and delved deeper into myself, is nice, but i would also love to see more of arrogant, spoiled james potter, too
not liking severus snape and peter pettigrew but liking evan, barty and regulus is kind of hypocritical
i don’t like jegulus
i also don’t like the casanova, bad boy characterisation of remus, and the helpless, needy characterisation of sirius either. to me, they’re out of character, overly done and absolutely not enjoyable
and because i earlier mentioned severus snape, i think he’s an interesting character, actually. that doesn’t make him a good person (once again, i believe him to be morally grey, too) and i can’t call myself a lover of his, however i find his story and character very interesting and compelling
i don’t like a lot of the wolfstar dynamics in current fandom
“we need more content about the girls!” literally do it yourself. please. whenever i write content about the men, i get a wave of new followers, and whenever i post about the non-men, suddenly i have tebs of people unfollowing me. oh, and my posts about the men have twice or thrice the notes of the other ones
sirius > regulus
and speaking of which, sirius is such an interesting character, and he was reduced by many people to nothing, or whatever is relevant to the plot
james would pick sirius over regulus any time, with literally no hesitation
i don’t care about popular fics (read or don’t read, i generally don’t read popular fics to be honest), however i do care about the way creators, especially writers, are treated in this fandom. i made a few posts about this topic, feel free to ask me to link them to you, but the way some people feel entitled to fic and fandom content is horrible
“x is the female version of— !” please stop. i’m going to stop you right here.
stop tagging jegulus and wolfstar and other mlm ships with wlw and nmlnm tags, for god’s sake. you’re just clogging the tag, and if i came looking for a certain ship, that’s what i’m going to expect to find. besides, why would you tag jegulus with, say, pandalily, when jegulus is by far more popular?
jegulus < jily

Okay, but can we talk about how Marauders fans have questionable things? Example: They hate Snape but love Regulus, Evan, Barty. The cules are much worse than severus
Or that they say that Snape's friends are bad, when the marauders were too. Another example: Lily and Remus said that James liked to practice spells on children
The Marauders were not self-centered: Yes, they were. No matter how much they doubt it, they were.
"Regulus has a better story than Snape" No, he doesn't. He's just a Death Eater and he died, he has no history.
"James changed" James I don't even think he would have changed, he did everything for Lily not by his will. And I'm sure he would have continued to bother Snape if he were alive. Example: Sirius was still bothering Snape as an adult, Sirius and James are the same shit. What makes you think James changed?
"Severus deserved everything the Marauders and his father did to him" yes, I've also seen those comments on TikTok. That's disgusting, really disgusting.
"Lily didn't even laugh at Snape's joke." I know, but I was going to do it. In the books you can see how Lily almost laughs or smiles. He is your friend and maybe in such a situation you don't laugh or you just say stop. You intervene!
I was wrong about Mary and Dorcas. Excuse me

tbf i appreciate regulus redemption arc. he practically sacrificed himself to save a house elf, which both voldemort and the death eaters viewed as subhuman (that said current marauders stans obsession w regulus and the way they're woobify him and shit is insane to me)
I'm gonna be honest with you. Whenever I think about Regulus' "redemption arc", the first thing that comes to mind is this Britta from Community meme.
That is to say, I don't consider Regulus to have a redemption arc. Sure, his death resulted from an act of betrayal against LV but that wasn't because he had any change to his beliefs or desire to atone for past acts, but rather because he discovered that LV's ultimate plan was to rule in perpetuity. Not to mention, as fond as Regulus was of Kreacher, he still volunteered the house elf to LV so he certainly saw Kreacher as his property that he could do whatever he wanted with.
As far as the "woobification" goes, I think we're beyond that now. It's just a completely fanon version of Regulus that exists in large circles of the fandom. There's outright disregard for the (few) canon truths we know about him: he believed this ideology. He idolized this group enough to hang newspaper clippings on his wall. His family was proud when he joined; he did not do so in any way to protect them. He was a blood purist and ultimately, he died believing what he lived believing and that's not much of a redemption arc in my book.
As said in DH: But Master Regulus had proper order; he knew what was due to the name of Black and the dignity of his pure blood. For years he talked of the Dark Lord, who was going to bring the wizards out of hiding to rule the Muggles and the Muggle-borns… and when he was sixteen years old, Master Regulus joined the Dark Lord. So proud, so proud, so happy to serve.

I'm shocked like really these people *really* replaced Snape with Regulus
(I was trying to find a very specific fic where Severus was killed in the prank so I searched for "Snape died" and I absolutely wasn't expecting to see this)

Can we talk like if you hate a Gay (non-canon) shipp or whatever they really throw at you? I was calmly watching TikTok and I see a video of Tonks and Remus.
They are really cute together in my opinion. And good comments from fans of Wolstar? I don't know if that's how they say it.
Commented "Sirius' Boyfriend" "She breaks homes" "the bitch" and more insults and saying that she only lent her womb to them
With much respect, go to hell people. Tonks is really cute and beautiful, I ruined her ship, it's only in her HEAD, she has no reason to treat her badly.
Also the Jegulus. Oh my God. I also hate that ship, not just because they want to put it into everything. Also about how they treat Lily. In their LIFE they talked to each other and did something to each other and James only loves and will love Lily Evans.
Shipps I don't even make sense of them and I really hate them. Once I said they didn't look like me and they scolded me, (Apart from the fact that I dislike the sipp characters)
