As I gazed out the window of our cozy home in Cincinnati, a nervous energy coursed through my veins. Today was the day I would finally reveal my wonderful secret to Andrei, my loving fiancé. I clutched the small white stick in my hand, my heart pounding with anticipation. Andrei was sitting in the living room, engrossed in a football game on TV. I took a deep breath and walked in, my mind racing with plans for the perfect surprise. But as luck had it, it seemed Andrei had a knack for finding things at the most inconvenient times. He looked up from the TV, his eyes narrowing in on the stick in my hand. "Hey love, what's that you got there?" I bit my lip nervously, trying to collect my thoughts while simultaneously coming up with a reasonable explanation. However, as I glanced into his piercing blue eyes, I knew there was no use in hiding it any longer. “Well… surprise!" I blurted out, a mixture of excitement and trepidation in my voice. "We're going to have a baby!" Andrei's eyes widened, his jaw dropping in utter disbelief. Quickly, his expression switched into pure joy. He leapt up from the couch and scooped me into a tight embrace, spinning me around the room. "We're going to be parents babe! This is amazing!" We laughed and cried tears of happiness, knowing that our love had created a precious new life.

From that moment on, our journey as expectant parents began, filled with love, laughter, and countless moments of sheer joy. And so, we embraced the uncertain future with open arms, knowing that whatever challenges lay ahead, we would face them together. Our love only grew stronger as we shared in the miracle of life, cherishing every precious moment with each other and our baby on the way. The bond between us as a family was unbreakable. And as the days turned into weeks, and the weeks into months, our hearts swelled with anticipation, ready to welcome our beautiful miracle into this world.

WIP Wednesday (3/13) | Arsonist Neil / Firefighter Andrew AU (Part 108)

Two days after the fake fire at Renee’s church, Andrew is off work again. He spends the morning with a bowl of Lucky Charms and the TV. Then he has to force himself to put actual clothes on and do actual human stuff. Like buying food because his kitchen is empty, except for a carton of eggs which he only uses to bake.

"Old Mother Hubbard went to the cupboard..." Andrew mutters under his breath as he makes a mental shopping list. He needs pretty much everything, which sucks because it's going to be hell to bring up. That's what he gets for avoiding this for so long.

As he slips his shoes on, he considers swinging by the library to find something else to do besides stare at the TV. He finds it strange for a moment that he can’t remember the last book he actually finished. He always gets bored halfway through and gives up.

“If I get a book, I will finish the book. No matter how much it sucks.” He says aloud, as if that makes it mean something. And then he takes stuffs his wallet into his pocket and opens the door.

After spending time around other people, both at the library and the grocery store, it’s sort of strange to come back to his empty apartment. He’s lived alone since he graduated. This is nothing new. But it almost feels… lonely. At least at the station, there’s the occasional… Annoyance. Usually in the form of a six-foot-two professional exy player who likes to follow him around.

Okay, Kevin isn’t all that bad. Andrew rather likes him, though he will admit that to no one. Especially not Kevin. With that thought, Andrew drops his groceries on the kitchen counter and starts to organize them. For some reason, the asshole who checked him out put a six pack on top of his loaf of bread so it’s squished flat on one side.

Oh, goddamn it. The one time he buys the nice bread… Andrew lets out a sigh. He’ll salvage it somehow. Maybe French toast. As he finishes putting his food away Andrew spends a bit of time doing other stupid but necessary shit, like vacuuming and cleaning the bathroom because it had been a while.

Once he’s through, he rewards himself by grabbing one of the packages of chocolate from 10’s gift basket— surprisingly there’s still plenty left— and one of the books he’d checked out before heading to his room to read in bed.

'...Speaking to the Sunday Independent ahead of tonight’s Golden Globes, Ros Hubbard, the casting agent who discovered Colin Farrell, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Sienna Miller and Orlando Bloom, said Irish actors have mastered the art of an unaffected screen presence.

She was speaking as Irish stars Barry Keoghan, Cillian Murphy and Andrew Scott are nominated in the Best Actor in a Motion Picture — Drama category at the Golden Globes tonight for their performances in Saltburn, Oppenheimer and All Of Us Strangers respectively.

Asked for the secret to the Irish success, Ms Hubbard said: “I think everyone wants to portray feeling and character but our actors are not overburdened with too much ‘poncey’ [pretentious or affected] training. Most of their work is through film. You are getting a genuine truthful delivery in their acting. I can’t even think of one Irish actor who would irritate me. They are just natural-born actors and the difference between them and me is that they know how to bring it to the next level which is showing people what they mean. Absolutely bringing the script to life the way they do.”

Asked what she meant by “poncey training” Ms Hubbard said: “Well for a long time people in the British Isles were over-trained, very theatrical, very put on and very unnatural. The Irish have a very natural way of putting scripts across to the audience. That’s what I mean.”

Ms Hubbard, who has worked with all three best actor nominees, said each one has a mercurial “magic” that makes them special.

“Magic. That is all I can tell you. I can’t describe their talent. I know when they haven’t got it, I know when they have it but don’t ask me to try to put that magic into words. I just know my gift from God is that I know a good actor. And I saw it in all three of those actors.”

She said Keoghan had managed to win over Hollywood in part due to his background. “Barry is gifted with a very interesting personality and people are fascinated by his Dubliness really that is what started him.

“Even as a young teenager, Andrew used to take my breath away when he would come in and do a tiny audition for a little part in a film. I think I met him when he was about 13 and he was training as a kid actor then,” she said.

Commenting on Murphy she said: “Cillian is magic. Top to bottom, perfect. I couldn’t say his eyes are any better than his mouth or anything else, even the way he stands and holds himself is top level acting. He has every chance of winning the Best Actor award at the Oscars.

Praising all three she said: “None of them are affected. They are so pleasant and easy to deal with. They are dignified without being haughty.”'

"Viscount Stansgate brought up the question in Monday’s session, asking “what plans [His Majesty’s Government] have, if any, to amend the Regency Act 1937.” "The Lord Privy Seal, The Lord True, replied that the Government will consider “their legislative programme for the remainder of the session,” without opening the topic up to further discussion.""Viscount Stansgate pressed on, noting that the Regency Act 1937 “is the only reason why it was possible to open the current Session of this Parliament.” Viscount Stansgate continued, asking if the Regency Act 1937 should not be amended, particularly Clause 6—which regulates Counsellors of States—because,“Otherwise, are the Government happy to continue with a situation where the counsels of state and regency powers may be exercised by the Duke of York or the Duke of Sussex, one of whom has left public life and the other of whom has left the country? Hey there, strangers!

Soooo for today's Lunlun's autumn reading challenge we go into question 11! I'm honestly shocked and exited I'm getting this far jajajaja

I usually get lost very easily... but I'm pushing through with this and is actually great.

Day 11: Do you remember the first book you read?

I honestly don't... not like the first one ever jajajaja

BUT I do remember the first that made me think like: "this is something I really want to do all the fucking time" and it was La sociedad de la sangre, by Susan Hubbard... mostly bc I connected with it on a very deep level, so random note about me, is my very first /favorite/. Also, it was the first book my mom gifted me.

Tag Game!

Okay so the wonderful @turningtoclown tagged me in this and I figured it looks like fun so why the hell not lets give it a go!!

Favorite time of the year:

Okay my favorite time of year would have to be fall, I love that sometimes it can be a little chilly so you are able to bundle up, but I also like when it can be a little warmer and you are able to wear like jeans and a T-shirt! It's that weird time in fall where school is just starting but the colors of the trees are changing, it's my absolute favorite!

Comfort food:

Honestly the cutie/clementine things that you can buy like pounds of, I can eat like 10 in a sitting they are so good! that or a bagel and cream cheese, but that is one food that you can never go wrong with!

Do you collect anything?:

I collect two things! Pop Figures and the Starbucks Been There Series Mugs! The Funko Pops allow me to share all of my favorite Fandoms and the Mugs let me share every place I have traveled to so both are a great way I express myself, I think I am well over 100 pop figures at this point and probably nearing like 40-ish mugs! I also have like 6 ukulele's that I love to play!

Favorite drink:

It depends on the context! If we are going full on alcohol then the Smirnoff Green apple is my favorite so far! But if its a mocktail then a Pina Colada. Otherwise my go to coffee is a Chai Latte or if I don't want the caffeine I go for a frozen hot chocolate!

Oh boy, my top song so for this year based on apple music is Should’ve Been a Cowboy by Toby Keith it has such a good memory attached to it so whenever I am sad I'll listen to it! But an all time favorite that I always go back to for some reason is Matilda my Harry Styles

Oh man, right now I am in my Top Gun and Top Gun: Maverick Phase and so I am absolutely loving those fics rn but I am also a huge Marvel Fan! So here are my top ten!

He's so Pretty (when he goes down on me) : This is a Bob fic by the fabulous @seasonsbloom it's hot, like very hot, so if you are a fan of the lovable Robert Floyd and you want something a little spicier (and by a little I mean a fuck ton) I definitely suggest this one!

Be My Angel : This one is by @mitchellpete and if you guys are a fan of my Pete Mitchell fics you'll definitely love hers!

Leave the Light On : This is a toothachingly sweet fic about Rooster and his soon to be wife! @halfway-happyyy wrote this one and honestly it made me tear up a little bit!

The Running series by @Ichawriter is so unfathomably good I literally sat and waited by my phone for the notification that she had posted the next part, I added part one!

Bun In the Oven this one is by @glodessa it's another icky sweet fic but it always puts a smile on my face when I read it!

A Glimpse of Them I just about cried reading that one, to see it from Mav's perspective was absolutely genius and I love the writing style of @bradshawsbaby

Home This one is glorious, you get to see a wonderful glimpse of Bradshaw being a bad and it is just super fluffy!

That Didn't Go as Planned oh my god do I love this fic! that fact that everyone is just as panicked as Rooster is absolutely adorable! @sebastianstangirl01 wrote this and its a super light hearted fic!

Hold My Hand this is a series by @mads-weasley with two technical breakdowns and I absolutely love it, I thing each part is beautifully written and we get the grow with the characters instead of just watching them!

Of Reunions and Sacred Traditions is a cute fic written by @gloryofroses19 it's simplicity yet raw moments drew so man y emotions out of me!
