lu guang's so fucking desperate the INSTANT he hears the gun go off at xiaoshi, he doesn't even know how bad it hit him, if was a fatal shot, etc. he just runs on blind fear, no rational thinking left. boy amps it up all the way to a 100 in a split second and SPRINTS (...almost as though he's died bleeding out in his arms a million times already...)
it's so, so, so unlike him — someone who always knows how to handle things. someone always there to hold and guide xiaoshi's hand no matter what, unfazed.
AND. the thing is, in that moment, he doesn't. run. to. xiaoshi. he knows it could be game over already. isn't shocked by it. just cloying desperation fueling him.
instinctively, he knows the only thing he can do is eliminate the one imminent source of danger. so he just loses his shit on qian jin, like he has nothing left to lose.
(compare the parallel to li tianchen, who drops everything and sprints towards his sister and stays by her side - both assumed the worst had happened, and react accordingly.)
so. just how many goddamn times has lu guang watched cheng xiao shi die already, im screaming.

i don't have many thoughts about the ep but it was. Something. to watch. i sorta knew what was about to happen because i saw you talking about it on the dash but My Fucking God. i don't know whats up with link click and their fifth eps but they sure do like putting all the strong topics into them. i did liked? enjoyed? a lot the realism it was treated with though
also my brain sort of died halfway n i spent a nice hour trying to figure out what was happening with lu guangs ability in this ep
that theory about one of the siblings taking control of him during that brief time period sounds very interesting?? i wonder if that's what happened or if the bad connection is due to lu guang's current health or a third secret thing
also another thing but i?? really like the way link click distracts you from the culprits. i spent the ending of ep4 n half of ep 5 thinking that the culprit was gonna be the cat ears dude n they also seemed to be playing onto it at first. i don't know. it's cool

I AGREE WITH THE CONFUSION ABOUT LU GUANGS ABILITY THOUGH. like its sooo... inconsistent. we dont know a lot about it from the get go anyway but i also sometimes wonder abt the logistics of the dives and if lu guang is surprised like cheng xiaoshi by what happens but then in other instances we see him knowing exactly what happens?? idk. suspension of disbelief ig. it is a time travel show after all so theres bound to be some inconsistencies. i try to just enjoy the show and not think too much abt the logistics of lu guangs ability.
also to your last point i knowwwww right?? the first time i saw this man and noticed the beard shadow i immediately thought it was that henchman guy from qian jin, just in the past. and thats also how the siblings have this connection in the present to him now. im still kinda sus abt him though. bet on link click to first make us think hes the bad guy, then the good guy, and then it turns out hes the bad guy again and actually that henchman dude. it is an interesting choice to give him the same beard shadow as him. link click, istg ur making my hairs turn grey.

the friendship between li yun and yzm is honestly so sweet. they’ve known each other the longest and also after cheng qian died and han yuan fucked off, they really only had each other for 100 years and baby shuikeng to raise. i like that they can have conversations where only 25% of it is actually said out loud, it’s a good way to demonstrate just how much time they’ve spent together. moirails

Chapter 64 is the first chapter of CFC I found frustrating, especially in the uncensored version.
Not because of dubcon (you don’t read Meatbun same as you don’t read Shui Qian Cheng, if noncon/dubcon or toxic relationships in general are a deal breaker) and not because of He Yu’s behavior - He Yu is very consistent from chapter 1 to now. I think he should be permanently locked up for the safety of people around him and never let out but he’s a consistent character who acts logically for what and who he is.
It’s because of XQC. This is the first time I am looking at what he’s doing and going THE HELL!!! I don’t get it. I don’t need decisions to be healthy or good, but they have to make sense to me and I am seriously struggling here.
What I am talking about is his agreeing to be HY’s enemy with benefits. HY is pretty damn desperate and tries all sorts of gambits to get him to agree (my fave being “it could he medical treatment! It will keep my disease in check and it will cure you of your coldness too so win-win!” Sexual healing is a song, not a REAL thing, He Yu!) And then he says if you don’t agree, I will send the pic I took of you sleeping in the club after stuff to your sister and XQC goes ok fine.
LIKE WAIT WHAT HOW?! I feel like I entered an alternate dimension. It’s not a sex video, it’s not even an x-rated picture. It’s literally from the waist up. I get XQC is more of a father than brother to XX and she’s the sole person he cares about and he’s proud and closed off but I can come up with about five BS stories to explain a picture like that in five minutes even if he doesn’t want XX glimpse the truth and yet XQC just plain agrees to sleeping with someone he loathes and is not attracted to (at least on a conscious level) etc etc etc LIKE WHAT MAKE IT MAKE SENSE!!!
Yes, I am taking all sorts of things into account - XQC cares zero about himself - he’s living simply because he hasn’t died. I still remember Chen Man’s horror where he realizes that as long as XX is taken care of, XQC literally has no opinion on living being worthwhile. So I can see why to him someone wanting his body is nbd because he values and treasures himself zero. The reward may be small but what HY is asking is also small to XQC. But still!!! It’s one thing to passively have no interest in living and another thing to be “I’ve been having nightmares and hate this but sure let’s go.” It doesn’t make sense!!!
I suppose it could also be that XQC is drawn to this precisely because it’s awful. I don’t mean he wants to have weird sex (one of these days, people in a web novel will have sex that is appealing to me and I will faint) but because subconsciously he’s drawn to interactions with He Yu precisely because they are so toxic - he gets to feel. Now what he feels is all horrible - rage, violence (so much of this chapter is XQC is just beating the snot out of He Yu and He Yu being turned on by that - like there is one moment where XQC hits HY and HY kisses him in return that is a pinnacle of dysfunction), loathing, shame etc - but at least he’s feeling and I think something in him, long suppressed, craves feeling something, craves that release. (And XQc being who he is, finds it easier if emotions are negative, paradoxically.)
Hmmm, I think I have sort of explained it to myself now (and it ties to this one brief moment in 61 during their confrontation in the parking lot where HY sees something in XQC’s eyes but it’s too quick and he can’t process it) but it’s still insane and I hope MB provides more explanation that isn’t just my interpretation.
The other thing is, this novel is getting awfully close to the line of making me so uncomfortable it’s becoming hard to read. I am all for feral psycho whose leash is held by the good one (WCJ is a great example) but this is feral psycho x fucked up in a different but probably more extreme way and it’s so so utterly toxic, I am feeling visceral discomfort. I just want to pull them two thousand miles from each other and get hardcore decade of counseling to each (and a hefty jail sentence to HY.) I may have finally found a web novel too dark for me.
I remain unable to comprehend how this will ever end up happily or even in any sort of functional loving relationship. He Yu is unfit to be a member of the human race and has so far done little to demonstrate his capacity for functionality and XQC is a good person but probably more fucked up then even He Yu.
ETA: @momoliee is a genius because after talking with her, it crystallized for me that the photo is a pretext which is why XQC did not try to find a way out. The photo becomes a pretext for him to agree to something he subconsciously wants - to do something violent and self-destructive. He does not realize it but the awfulness is the whole appeal.

Since rewatching the guardian drama after reading the novel has made me mad about how bad and good both of them are I am Obligated to write out a list of what I think the perfect merger btw both versions of canon are. This will be in list format otherwise I’ll end up writing like 6k words again.
TLDR: the genre stays as supernatural from the novel and not Sci fi, bc that was rlly not fleshed out well. Shen Wei is a ghost king, and all the dixingren are ghosts or demons like originally intended. The ghost race naturally exists and wasn't born from kunluns shoulder fire or anything. They just exist separate from humans. Not all ghosts are former humans, some people are just born as ghosts, like Shen Wei. Zhao Yunlan has the guardian whip and all the cool stuff that comes with the Guardian order. Overall, i’d keep the novel’s plot and relationship progression and ending without the backstory. Instead the backstory is a merger of both canons. From the drama I’d keep the characterization and themes as well as like half the extra cases and omit the other half.
I’ll be elaborating much further on my ideal backstory and other stuff under the cut bc the rest is 1.5k and I don’t wanna clog the dash
Okay SO In my ideal backstory there are two timelines just like the drama but the mythology of the book. The god Kunlun is actually zyl that went back in time and became a god. But the one that went back isn’t the current Zhao Yunlan. There has to be an original timeline where the god Kunlun never existed. Thus the great seal nor the separation of the three realms don’t exist either. Zhao Yunlan must go back in time to become a god, meet Shen Wei in the past, and create the current timeline where the separation exists but isn’t perfect. The current timeline is the one that the majority of the series takes place in.
In the original timeline, Zhao Yunlan is just some dude living in a world where ghosts, fairies, and all other beings just live in a giant free for all and it's kinda just a mess.
Like there’s government in modern context and all and all races live with each other but there's constant tension. ZYL works at some equivalent of the SID (same staff and side characters, but novel vers. Lin Jing is a monk, CSZ a zombie, etc) to protect people and all that and their job is rather hard. One day encounters the thousands year old ghost king Wei (who isnt shen wei yet bc zyl gave him that name in the future) who works alone as like a rouge cultivator of sorts. He lives on the surface undercover as a professor still bc he’s trying to not catch Yezun’s attention but does all the stuff he normally does as Heipaoshi. The two ally together for a case and bc they both have the same goals of getting all races to live in peace. At current, there are forces working together to decimate the human race, all lead by Yezun
As they work together they become closer and all that. Shen Wei tells him about how he was unable to prevent the great war 5 thousand years ago and neither could the gods so he’s spent the past 5 thousand years trying to make up for it. As they search for ways to stop Yezun, they gather the 4 hallows and learn how to use them to manipulate time so ZYL can go into the past and stop the great war and separate the three realms (living, dead, ghost). Shen Wei wants to go back with him but he can’t because he was alive all those years ago so if he goes back it will create a paradox. ZYL promises he’ll find Shen Wei in the past and create a timeline where they could be together in peace (that is the current timeline)
When goes back he becomes the god kunlun because there needed to be a new god born at the time to prevent the war. Also this time traveller looked promising to Nuwa, Fuxi, and Shennong. And I know in the guardian universe gods are usually born and ppl don’t become gods. EXCEPT this can happen when a god passes on smth from their body onto them bc that did happen in the novel with Kunlun making shen wei a demigod. And since fu you and ma gui are supposed to be gods Nu Wa and Fuxi I think that when they die, they should make ZYL a god and that's how this stuff happens.
So like ZYL explains to the gods the time he came from and how he wants to save everything and they make him a god and he works to save everything just like he did in the drama but this time with the novel plotline. During this time he meets young Shen Wei (he’s still like a hundred or so years old) and they get close and all the stuff from the backstory happens. He gives him his name, all that good stuff. The entire time doesn’t let him know that he’s from the future or that his real name is ZYL. He just poses as kunlun.
The two of them alongside the other gods (who still die at the times they do in the novel) work together to end the war and establish the great seal and set up the cycle of reincarnation, per the current timeline. Although the seal and cycle of reincarnation aren’t perfect. Gods can’t reincarnate, and ghosts still don’t have souls. And just like the novel, doing all of this kills ZYL bc it takes a lot of energy to create the seal even though it isn’t perfect.
Shen Wei of course doesn’t want ZYL to die and zyl says it's alright because he fixed the timeline so there must One day they will meet again and ZYL reveals the truth about the timeline to shen wei before he dies. This becomes the promise that Shen Wei mentions to meet again. Before he dies, ZYL gives him the shoulder fire as a memento ( i still like the candy wrapper necklace deal but i’ll take this too. Maybe both.. The pendant is still just rlly cool.. Gay ppl)
Shen Wei knows gods can’t enter the cycle of reincarnation and still makes the deal with Shennong to strip Kunlun of his godhood and let him reincarnate. This sets us into the novel timeline where isn’t allowed to meet any of zyl’s reincarnations before he becomes zyl otherwise he will die and also fuck up the timeline. The same 5 thousand years of pining still ensue bc Gay Ppl and i love making Shen Wei suffer but he doesn’t have the shrine room thing bc i think thats weird and yea.. Bad.
In the meantime Shen Wei does a lot of things mostly just protecting the great seal and working for Hell to keep the peace but still does other stuff. He still watches out for ZYL’s reincarnations but doesn’t do much besides make sure they don’t die a premature death. They meet again finally at the beginning of the series and the timeline resumes like canon. And that's my master plan that merges both drama logic and novel logic while making a much better timeline. (I hope that makes some sense)
Da Qing is still Kunlun’s pet cat and important. Novel backstory applies to him. And I already mentioned him kinda but as for Yezun (Gui Mian in the novel) his deal is similar as in the drama but just a ghost. And he is a big player in the great war, he thought Shen Wei abandoned him as a kid but they were just separated. Shen Wei doesn’t know it's him till the end of the war and couldn’t stop him in the OG timeline and vows to bring him to justice and make amends. Shen Wei continuously tries to explain things to him but he just won’t listen and is imprisoned in hell bc yk… war criminal stuff and yeah he’s the main antagonist trying to break the great seal bc he’s still made about the past. Idk. Yezun wasn’t well written in the novel OR the drama so like… honestly he just needs to be completely rewritten and I don’t care enough about that. He can just be a weak villain idk
the drama characterization stays the same for everyone else bc found family go brr. However for Lao Chu i… hmm… i think he should still be a zombie but the reason he killed someone should be related to his brother. I like that addition and then shen wei realized his sentence was unjust and exempted him. i like that storyline merger. bc the brother thing and him admiring Heipaoshi was drama only. in the novel lao chu just murdered some kid for a rlly whatever reason.
uhhh in terms of the cases… id make adjustments to most of them. i think the li qian case should be like the drama bc the novel just had her as a murderer and it was boring.
For the mountain river awl one was fine… novel version was funnier and more interesting action wise tbh… rip zyl and his exorbitant flirting. uhhh the whole reveal that shen wei was the soul reaper thing was kinda… ehh in the novel but i did love the comedy of afterwards Shen Wei pretending he went into cardiac arrest when he actually just… has no pulse bc he's a ghost.
ID KEEP THE WORTH IT SCENE AND RAIN SCENE… THOSE FUCK SO HARD… I love the drama for adding those every damn day. the novel version of zyl losing his sight sucked and was sooo boring. Keep the drama version on that.
also id keep dr. cheng. i'm very pro dr. cheng and her friendship with shen wei it adds so much to his character imo. keep the fruit seller man and his wife for the merit brush..omg it adds SO MUCH the way the drama did it.. like the drams build up with the novels pace of that arc.. mwah. it felt like it dragged a bit in the drama but if it went faster and without the hospital ep and with sha ya (sorry sha ya) that would've been so good. tho keep novel version of da qings memory loss and lao li. that was rlly impactful.
id say keep some of the cases like the mirror one, the eyes doctor one, etc. just to like.. yk have more to fill in general.. novel pacing but drama characterization without the bs that wasn't fully realized. and novel ending ofc. And that’s it!!
I hope most of this makes some amount of sense but it probably doesn’t. In my head it all tracks but like ik most of u don’t know anything about the novel so this sounds like gibberish. Also I know this would literally never happen but this is MY ideal merger of the two canons that I feel compelled to expand on for some reason. Anyways, as io said,, we need to rebuild guardian. Like literally let me and the mutuals write Guardian and it will be 500 times better.

Xie Lian: Fuckup Crown Prince, Thrice Ascended God, has a snake bandage and a collar like a kinky motherfucker. Master of the sword Fang Xin (that apparently MOANS????). Saves and then murders Tai Hua/ Lang Qian Qiu’s father before the king can order a genocide of Xian Le people.
Ruoye:: Xie Lian’s bandage-snake-thing. A bit fussy and literal with him. Likes Hua Cheng.
Hua Cheng // San Lang: Demon King, wants to bone Xie Lian. Has some sort of past connection to him. Judging by his dedication to the imagery of Crown Prince Xie Lian saving the person, either the person he saved or someone else in his orbit but overlooked.
E-Ming:: Hua Cheng’s scimitar. Has a jeweled eye at the hilt, likes to be petted. A whole puppy.
Fu Yao // Mu Qing // Xuan Zhen: SW God, ex-servant of Xie Lian, professional eye-roller, to pretty for your bullshit.
Nan Feng // Feng Xin // Nan Yang: Understands all these names are difficult to keep track of so his fake name is a combo of his 2 other names, SE God, military general under Xie Lian, in denial about how hot he thought Xie Lian was in that wedding dress. God of big dicks.
Feng Shen:: Nan Feng/Feng Xin’s bow, given to him by Jun Wu. Bow’s name means “God of Wind”, no word yet on how the Wind God feels about this.
Ling Wen: Literary Goddess, friend of Xie Lian, too cool for anyone’s bullshit. One of the Three Tumors.
Little Ying: Gods are jerks to her because she’s not beautiful, but they still like her. Brave and naturally dies horribly.
Lang Ying:: A boy Little Ying passed food to. His body is scarred by the plague that destroyed Xie Lian’s kingdom (now Tai Hua’s), but the plague was thought eradicated long ago. A disciple of Xie Lian’s.
Jun Wu: Heavenly Emperor, sends Xie Lian on his quest. Might be somewhere in disguise because this seems like an important thing to send the God of Fucking Up to take care of.
General Pei Lang // Pei Ming // Ming Guang:: A god in the north. His statues are sexy. Female worshipers kneel for more than one reason. Can’t be bothered to deal with anyone’s shit. Slut. One of the Three Tumors.
Xuan Ji:: A female general who is beautiful and fierce. She had an affair with Ming Guang before he ascended and she destroyed her country to get his attention. Has 2 broken legs and walks around on her knees.
“Little” General Pei Su // A-Zhao:: More of an arrogant schemer than a heroic general. A descendant of the other General Pei who also ascended to godhood. Name might mean small dick. Destroyed Ban Yue kingdom and leads caravans there as young A-Zhao to kill the unsuspecting. Most likely evil.
Tian Sheng:: Baby, bit of an attitude. Mouths off but respects elders. Buildin’ Xie Lian a temple (definitely just a tree house).
Ke Mo:: Banyue general / roid monster. Definitely has a smaller dick than San Lang/Hua Cheng.
Ban Yue:: The Banyue High Priestess, because even in Ancient Fantasy China, dumbass hipster parents name their kids after countries.

Quan Yi Zhen:: Martial God of the West. A competitor of Big and Little Pei who benefited from the Ban Yue Pass incident since Pei Su has been humiliated.
Black Water Demon Xuan:: Sounds hot just from his name. Probably has some level of camaraderie with Hua Cheng just because HC calls him by a trendy nickname of “Black Water”.
Tai Hua // Lang Qian Qiu:: Crown Prince of Yong An. Eastern Martial God. Yong An was built by rebels on the bones of Xie Lian’s Kingdom. Vaguely narcoleptic. Pretty but dumb as a rock. Was trained to fight by Xie Lian himself, disguised as High Priest. Tai Hua nailed Xie Lian’s body into a coffin after believing he was responsible for the Banquet that killed the Yong An royalty.
Xia Xian Yue Officer // Quan Yi Zhen:: Hua Cheng’s assistant(?). Former Marial God of the West.
Green Lantern Qi Rong // Xiao Jing:: One of the Four Great Calamities. A cousin (distant?) of Xie Lian’s.
Prince An Le:: Another distant relative of Xie Lian’s. Prince An Le befriended Tai Hua/Lang Qian Qiu, then worked together with Qi Rong to slaughter Tai Hua’s family and allow Xie Lian to take the blame. Prince An Le died of “illness” (murdered).

As soon as the sun rose, Xue Qian Shan arrived, Du Qi was exhausted and had passed out in Shang Xi Rui's bed, the two of them top and tail. Xue Qian Shan stood at the head of the bed in fascination, fully enjoying the sight of Du Qi sleeping, then gently nudged him awake: "Qi-ShaoYe, I'm here, please give your instructions."
Du Qi summoned Xue Qian Shan, and gathered other individuals of high-status who have connections with the Cheng family, including An-BeiLe, lastly giving Fan Lian a call: "Fan-ErYe, don't push it too far! Decided to re-organize my character list like my non-spoiler one :)
The Mains
Xie Lian:: Crown Prince of Xian Le, thrice ascended god, also nicknamed the god of misfortune or the god of fucking up. Has a snake bandage (Ruoye), neat-o sword (Fang Xin) and a collar/ankle shackle like a kinky motherfucker (punishment from his 2 banishments from the heavens). If you have a beef with Xie Lian, Hua Cheng will turn you puddle-shaped.
Ruoye:: Xie Lian’s spiritual tool. A bit fussy and literal with him. Likes Hua Cheng.
Hua Cheng // San Lang // Four Great Calamities:: An 800 year old demonic Ghost King also known as the Crimson Rain-Sought Flower, Scourge of Heaven, or Xie Lian’s sugar daddy. Devastation-Level spirit (currently the most powerful). Human!Xie Lian saved Hua Cheng’s life when he was a small child and Hua Cheng decided to dedicate his life to the Crown Prince. Now that they’re both 800+ years old he wants to bone him.
E-Ming:: Hua Cheng’s blade. A long, curved silver scimitar with a decorative pommel that appears to contain either an eye or a jeweled eye (not too clear on that part).
The Heavenly Host
Fu Yao:: Mu Qing’s disguised form so he can help Xie Lian without Xie Lian knowing it’s him. Formerly a servant of Xie Lian’s. Too pretty for your bullshit.
Mu Qing // Xuan Zhen:: The Southwest Martial God. A former servant of Xie Lian’s who was brought by Xie Lian to the heavens before Xie Lian was unceremoniously kicked out the first time. Because of his former life as a servant, it is considered a high insult to hand him or one of his disciples a broom.
Nan Feng:: Nan Yang’s disguised form so that he can help Xie Lian without Xie Lian’s knowing it’s him. Terrified of women (but obviously thought Xie Lian was hot in that wedding dress).
Feng Xin // Nan Yang:: The Southeast Martial God. A former General under Xie Lian, also brought by Xie Lian to the heavens before Xie Lian’s first downfall. Due to an error by an ancient emperor, he is worshiped in some areas as the God of Big Dick (”Tremendous Masculinity”).
Feng Shen:: Feng Xin // Nan Yang // Nan Feng’s bow, a gift from the Heavenly Emperor. Bow’s name means ‘God of Wind’, no word yet on how the Wind Master feels about this.
Ling Wen // Three Tumors:: A literary goddess and friend of Xie Lian. Only Ling Wen greets Xie Lian upon his third ascension and she often helps him research things.
Jun Wu:: The Heavenly Emperor. Has a certain fondness for Xie Lian, and gives him more chances than he might others.
General Pei Lang // Pei Ming // Ming Guang // Three Tumors:: Northern Martial God. Pei Lang was a legendary womanizer as a mortal and is even worse as a divine. Slutty af, can’t be bothered to deal with anyone’s shit.
“Little” General Pei Su:: A descendant of the above god who ascended to a lower godhood rank. Acts as an underling and errand boy of General Pei Lang. Name indicates small dick.
Wind Master Shi Qing Xuan:: One of the Five Elemental Lords, carries a fan and stirs up violent storms often. Known for their stunning looks and a personality that makes them fast friends in the Heavenly Realm. Sometimes likes to go around as a lady (and convince others to cross-dress with them)
Water Master Shi Wu Xu // Three Tumors:: Dubbed “Tyrannical Waters” by San Lang due to the practice of demanding tribute from those who sail upon the seas and oceans. One of the Five Elemental Lords. Wind Master’s elder brother who ascended first by a couple years.
Earth Master Ming Yi:: A companion of Wind Master Shi Qing Xuan and one of the Five Elemental Lords. Not much is known about the Earth Master because they like to keep a low profile. Acted as a spy in Hua Cheng’s camp for 10 years. Hua Cheng recognized him in female form when he was going around Banyue Pass with Wind Master.
Tai Hua// Lang Qian Qiu:: The Eastern Martial God, born the Crown Prince of Yong An- the kingdom that grew on the ashes of Xie Lian’s own kingdom. He is vaguely narcoleptic, dumb as a rock, and enjoys flinging himself headfirst into any situation if he thinks it’ll make him look heroic. Was trained in fighting by Xie Lian himself.
Ghosts and Demons
Black Water Demon King Xuan // Four Great Calamities:: He keeps to himself often. He and Hua Cheng are the only two who hold the rank of Demon King, and one of only three demons to reach “Devastation” rank, though he is considered slightly lower than Hua Cheng.
White No-Face Bai Wu Xiang // Four Great Calamities:: The eldest of the Four Great Calamities and first to achieve Devastation-Rank. He is the one who destroys Xie Lian’s kingdom before vanishing himself.
Night-Touring Green Lantern Qi Rong // Xiao Jing:: Though only a “Wraith” class demon (lower than a Devastation), he is the weakest and youngest of the Four Great Calamities. Gods look down on him with disgust rather than fear, as he is known for impaling people upside down, creating a bloody rain. Xie Lian’s insane younger cousin.
The Humans and Miscellaneous
Little Ying (Yu Jun Arc):: A girl in the village around Mount Yu Jun. She cares for Lang Ying and dies protecting Xie Lian (who was in no need of protecting but appreciated the gesture).
Lang Ying (Yu Jun Arc+):: A boy inflicted with the same Face Plague that destroyed Xie Lian’s kingdom, though the plague was thought eradicated long ago. It’s resurgence could mean Bai Wu Xiang has reappeared. He is a somewhat disciple of Xie Lian’s, having survived terrible hardships and trauma.
Xuan Ji (Yu Jun Arc):: A female general who stood on the opposite side of a battle as Ming Guang // Pei Senior. She went insane in her love of him and broke both of her legs to force him to notice her. When he still didn’t pay any mind, she went insane and was responsible for the Ghost Brides of Mount Yu Jun.
Tian Sheng (Banyue Pass Arc):: A bit of a mouthy one, but respects elders. Swears he will build Xie Lian a temple (which will probably end up just being a tree house).
Ke Mo (Banyue Pass Arc):: A general of the Ban Yue people. He refused to die, choosing instead to continuously trap people General Pei Junior brings to the edge of the Banyue lands to feed to his starving brothers trapped in the Sinner’s Pit. He executes Ban Yue over and over again for her part in destroying Banyue.
Ban Yue (Banyue Pass Arc):: A tiny demon in a cup. Ban Yue was one of Xie Lian’s orphans he used to collect and protect. She found out her people- who she wasn’t on good terms with anyways- were planning on committing a series of suicide bombings that would kill thousands of Midlanders, so she helped slaughter her own people to minimize casualties. Xie Lian keeps her in a jar, but is kind to her.
Xia Xian Yue Officer // Quan Yi Zhen (Ghost Market Arc):: Hua Cheng’s assistant(?). May be the former Martial God of the West.
Prince An Le (Qi Rong Arc):: Another distant relative of Xie Lian’s. Prince An Le befriended Tai Hua/ Lang Qian Qiu for the purpose of carrying out the slaughter of the Yong An royal family along with Qi Rong. Was murdered by Xie Lian to stop a war from brewing.
