so i’m in the midst of my monthly hunger games obsession and after a lot of strategic thought i’ve come to the conclusion that, yes, peeta and katniss are cute and all, but you know what ship is better? FUCKING ANNIE AND FINNICK
Some thoughts about lcf part 2 (includes spoilers till pt 2 chapter 180+)
Am I the only one who still keeps thinking about the youngest daughter of orsenas a lot? That orphan who lost her family in a terrible fire but never got the chance to mourn properly, the traumatized child who was trembling in her sleep and only relaxed after seeing Cale's silver shield, fainted upon trying to tell the person she considered as a hero about her 'enemy'. The orphan who had been considered as a burden by the people around her.
At the beginning of part 2, I had hoped Cale would take her in, because she reminded me so much of the orphan krs who had lost his parents similarly in a young age in an accident but no one wanted to take him in, but she got abducted by hunters instead, and came back to nameless 1 broken.
I hope we can see more about her in later chapters.. she really deserves better.
So apparently they filmed two different endings for Jed and Ben in case the show got cancelled, but they couldn’t have filmed another ending for Landon, their male lead, with him getting out of limbo in case the show got cancelled? It really just shows even more what their priorities were and how little they cared about Landon or making sure he had any sort of happiness in the end. They literally took away his ability to even feel happiness and didn’t even care to change that or have another ending for him in case they didn’t get the chance to continue his story. And they did know there was a possibility that the show could be cancelled and knew that for months, and apparently felt that a cancellation was likely and were told to write the finale like a series finale, and they still made no efforts for Landon. The way they handled Landon’s character was so unbelievably careless and cruel. They truly didn’t deserve to write Landon or have him in their show. Imagine having a character like Landon and an actor like Aria and deciding to do what they did. Who in their right mind... I’ll never understand.
listen there really was just something about how in the book, snow’s 3-page descent from hesitant lover boy to deluded psychopath happens entirely in his mind. lucy gray gives him no indication whatsoever that she suspects him, that she’s going to leave or betray him. he’s just sitting quietly in the cabin waiting for her to return when that seed of calculated suspicion, which he has needed to survive the capitol, takes a hold of him and chokes the life out of any goodness left inside him. it really drives home your terror as a reader that “oh my god did he kill her? did she escape? what happened to her? why would he even think that?” in a way that when the movie had to adjust for visualization it lost some of that holy shit this guy has lost it emphasis.
[VD: A grayscale Magnus Archives animatic of Jon and Gerry talking in episode 111 of The Magnus Archives. Gerry, a ghostly goth, and Jon, a thin brown man in a graphic T-shirt, sit together at a table. Gerry says scornfully, "Playing politics with things they didn’t understand. Reckoned her tradition was less the academic and more the, uh…" Jon offers dryly, "V-Village witch?"
Gerry laughs, pleased, and asks, "You sure you don’t know her?" He sighs, sobers, and says, "Yeah. But deep down what she wanted wasn’t all that different from the ivory tower idiots she hated. Y’know, I think, secretly, she dreamed of starting a little mystic dynasty of her own." He grimaces. "With me."
Jon says a little eagerly, "Like the, the Lukases? Or the Fairchilds?" Gerry corrects, "Well, Fairchild’s just a name, they’re not really family." Then he does a finger gun and says, "The Lukases, though, yeah."
He turns away, pensive and frowning, and says, "Thing is, it’s harder than it looks. What’s out there… doesn’t care about blood." Jon, grinning a little, says, "Well, I-I mean, except for the vampires…" Gerry scowls, "Yeah, obviously except for the vampires." Jon looks abashed, and Gerry looks down sorrowfully to say, "But they care about your choices, your fears, not your parents." End VD]
[ID: A still of the scene where Gerry scowls and says "Yeah, obviously except for the vampires" to an embarrassed Jon. End ID]
the key to enjoying the magnus archives is understanding that every single person is a bitch. name a character and i can tell you right now they have the most petty bitchy tendencies. you have to understand that all of these characters are absolutely insufferable bitches and there's nothing any of us can do except say slay king live your truth. they served cunt and if innocents died along the way that's none of my business thank you
Pac: I'm not going to say anything to you guys [Chat], I'm not going to say anything to you. I'm not saying absolutely anything, I'm not going to comment. Man, you broke me here, you broke me in 3 parts! I'm not going to- no no no no no, I won't fall for your game, I won't fall for your game.*
Pac's chat allows viewers to make music requests, which led to this very well-timed moment today where Careless Whisper started playing as soon as Pac met back up with Fit.
