So here is the fic to accompany the BoB x Taylor Swift moodboard for Bull. I actually really enjoyed writing for Bull for the first time. Thank you to @sarah-457 for requesting a fic for Bull Randleman. Thank you @rain-lavender-rain for proofreading.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Y/n watched in defeat as members of Easy Company trickled back into camp; bloodied and bruised, some carrying their wounded comrades, others limping in on their own. Y/n hurried to help them, guiding them to the aid station where Eugene had already begun to patch up several wounded soldiers.
“Sit down over here, kid. Where are you hit?” She asked, rolling up the young man’s trouser leg when he motioned to the wound. It wasn’t bad, a clean hit straight through. She applied some sulfa powder, dressing the wound quickly before moving on to the next casualty. Her eyes continued to scan over the stream of men entering the camp, keeping her eyes peeled for one particular sergeant.
“Hey Hoob,” she called out as Donald Hoobler walked passed her. “Have you seen Bull?”
“No sorry,” he mumbled. “Not since we retreated. He was there during the advance though. I’m sure he’s around here somewhere.”
Y/n nodded, continuing to wrap a sling around the injured soldier's arm, her mind too preoccupied with the thoughts of Bull.
She wasn’t exactly sure when she and Bull had become friends. He was a private person and hadn’t warmed to her as quickly as the likes of George Luz and Skip Muck had but they soon became firm friends. Bull seemed to have this older brother persona and was always watching her back, even though Y/n didn’t see him as a brother and may or may not have been harbouring the world's largest crush on the sergeant.
Tumblr media
As the night drew in, Y/n finally retreated to the foxhole she shared with Eugene, although as usual, Eugene was checking on someone. Y/n often wondered if he ever slept. He would rise early and go to bed late, the second someone was wounded he was by their side and she often wondered how he got there so quickly.
She slumped into the foxhole, cursing the world as she threw her musette bag off her shoulder. She still hadn’t seen Bull and the niggling feeling in her stomach grew to an all consuming ache.
“Hey Y/n, have you seen Bull yet?” Johnny asked, glaring down at her. Johnny always glared, despite the three of them being friends she could rarely recall a time when she witnessed Johnny Martin really smiling.
“No I haven’t seen him and I’m getting really worried,” she spoke softly, trying to hold back the inevitable tears that she’d been holding in all day.
“Some of the guys are going out on a patrol to look for him…”
“I’ll go,” Y/n interrupted, grabbing her musette bag and scrambling to her feet.
“No. No. No. Bull would never forgive me if I let you get injured whilst looking for him. Not a chance Y/L/N. Stay here. I’ll let you know as soon as I know anything.”
She knew Johnny was right but the thought of Bull all alone, trapped and possible injured caused her heart to ache.
Tumblr media
The next morning came too soon and with no sign of the patrol or Bull, Y/n couldn’t help the growing suspicion that something had gone terribly wrong.
She was sitting in an empty crate, counting through her medical supplies when she heard the all too familiar shout from Johnny. “BULL!”
Could it be? Was she just hearing things?
Shoving her supplies back into the musette bag she hurried over to the crowd, spying Webster and Hoobler who had gone out on last nights patrol. Then the unmissable figure of Bull Randleman appeared, his great barking laughter filled the air as he embraced Johnny and several other paratroopers.
“Bull?” She called out, stopping in her tracks. The group of paratroopers all turned to face her. Now normally at this point in the movies the girl would go running towards the man, jump into his arms and they share a passionate kiss as music plays around them. This however is real life and neither one moved. Johnny coughed and began to usher the other paratroopers away.
“Little lady,” Bull greeted her with his usual nickname, watching her cautiously as the cogs in Y/n mind seemed to turn into overdrive. Something within her snapped and she felt herself hurtling towards the large man her first raised.
“YOU IDIOT! What the hell were you thinking! You could have died!” She felt her fists hammering against his chest as she shouted, cried, screamed at him in anguish. Bull just stood still, waiting patiently for her to calm down.
“I could have lost you,” she sobbed, burying her face into his ODs. Bull quickly wrapped his large arms around her, pulling her closer to him and muffling her cries.
“Those Kraut bastards couldn’t kill me if they tried and by God did they try. I’ve got too much to live for to do something stupid like dying,” he confessed, cupping her cheek in his warm hand and bringing her face up to look her in the eyes.
“I’m sorry I made you worry. I promise I’ll try not to do it again.” He smiled and his heart swelled as she returned it with a tearful grin.
“You’d better keep that promise, Bull Randleman.”
“Anything for you Little Lady.” He looked passed her to check the others had dispersed before pulling her close again and placed a much needed kiss to her lips. The smell of tobacco was strong as she kissed him and had it been on anyone else she’d have probably pulled away for some fresh air but it made her want to kiss him more. His strong arms wrapped around her, pressing against the small of her back.
“Bull, I…”
“Shhh. For once in your life just don’t worry,” Bull comforted her but she fought against his grip.
“No Bull. I can’t give you my heart, you might break it and I don’t know if I could survive that.” Y/n felt tears welling in her eyes again and wiped her face in the grimy sleeve of her ODs.
Bull looked down at her, his eyes shining with adoration. “Oh Little Lady, I could never break your heart. I promise I’ll look after it.” Bull kissed her again, this time gentiler and slower, savouring every moment of…
“Hey Bull! Y/N! Come on, we're moving out.” Johnny called from somewhere on the road behind them and the pair couldn’t help but giggle like naughty children.
“Come on, let’s get that shoulder looked at Tough Guy.”
“Anything for you, Little Lady.”

September 1st, 1977
“My little witch is all grown up!” Tears streamed down her mother’s face as they entered Platform 9 3/4. The entire drive to King’s Cross, the crushing reality of this final train ride to Hogwarts began to sink in.
This was it. The chapter was coming to a close.
She hugged her parents tightly, which she tried to do as much as possible nowadays. The news was getting bleaker and bleaker, the Daily Prophet trying to sweep as much of it under the rug as they could. Those that dared print any iota of the truth usually ended up disappearing, the whisperings of such occurrences becoming more frequent. Luckily, James’ parents had begun to include him in more of their discussions, leading to the rest of them hearing the truth in great detail. He’d written her in mid-august, after Sirius had arrived back at Potter manor, to give an update on the efforts being port forth by people like his parents. He also implored her to find out who Sirius’ suspected new girlfriend was, disclosing that their friend had been acting “slightly less insane and kept sneaking off to send owls”. She didn’t respond, just laughed and mentioned it to Sirius in her next letter. They’d agreed to not address their relationship with the others just yet, waiting to put it off until the school year and live for a few more weeks amongst their own little secret. There were no titles spoken of, no boyfriend or girlfriend, partner or lover; they were just…together. Sirius was hers, and she was his; and that was enough for them both.
James appeared on the train platform first, unruly hair catching her eye before his enthusiastic wave. Following quickly behind was Peter, who looked distant and preoccupied, and finally Sirius, who smiled broadly when he caught sight of who James was staring at. Racing towards them, she launched into Sirius’ arms as he tossed his bags to the ground. Cradling her face, he kissed her earnestly. From beside them, Peter openly groaned.
“It’s about bloody time!” James sighed loudly, the smile evident in his voice. Sirius gave his best friend a rude gesture, never breaking the kiss in the process.
“Oh no, are we going to have to deal with this for the foreseeable future?” Remus had walked up behind them, the sound of his voice had her pulling away with a slight grin.
“Hi Moony, sorry I didn’t write much,” she hugged him in greeting.
He squeezed her, “It’s alright, you were obviously occupied.”
She pinched him, leading to a sly smirk from Remus. He kissed the top of her head, “I’m happy for you, love,” he whispered into her ear.
Sirius threw a leather-clad arm around her shoulders, motioning towards the train, “Alright then, Head Boy, lead the way.”
She followed his gaze to James, “What?! Jamie!”
He blushed at the attention, “Oh, uh, yeah…Lily’s made Head Girl too actually.”
“That’s an extremely unsurprising, yet serendipitous decision,” she laughed, “Congratulations, you deserve it.”
“Yeah, he’s a proper arsehole now—ow!” Sirius cradled his side where she’d elbowed him.
James smiled fondly at her, picking up his trunk and leading them all onto the Hogwarts Express one last time.

November 5th, 1977
She’d never been this drunk at a party before. The entire Gryffindor Common Room was a blur of scarlet and and gold, bodies packed tight while the Clash played loudly through the speakers. Sirius had wanted an all out banger for his final birthday at Hogwarts, inviting essentially any warm body (and a few ghosts) to the tower for a night “full of debauchery” as he had put it to anyone that would listen. Earlier in the afternoon she had given him his present, a new album from the Sex Pistols. Sirius had hearts in his eyes listening to the opening song, only pulling himself away to lock the dormitory door and kiss his way across her body. They had spent the rest of the afternoon tangled in each other, with only the sound of Pretty Vacant on repeat to muffle their unholy noises from the rest of the residents of the tower.
At midnight, Lily brought out the birthday cake with the help of James, the two of them getting the entire tower to sing along while Sirius sat against the arm of the couch beaming. He reached out and pulled her onto his lap, holding tight as he waited to blow out his candles. After making a little show of pretending to “think” about his wish, he finally extinguished them, planting a gentle kiss to her shoulder in the process.
“What’d you wish for?” She asked, turning around to face him once everyone had gone back to dancing, or drinking, or doing…whatever it was they were doing.
Sirius nuzzled against her neck, “You know precisely what I wished for, love.”
She hummed, skimming a hand down his spine, “…only if you’re a good boy tonight.”
He looked up at her with heavy lids, from the firewhisky or lust or both, she wasn’t quite sure. Distracted by his gaze, she let out a surprised gasp as his hand snaked its way around to grab her backside obscenely.
“Bad dog…” she purred, kissing him once as he tried to wander his hands further. “I’m going to go get some air, it’s too hot in here.” One last soft kiss, and she wiggled out of his grasp just as James and Remus came over to ask him to settle an apparently desperate argument having to do with quidditch.
The corridor outside of the common room was chilly in the most delicious way, and she practically moaned with relief as the portrait swung shut. She inhaled deeply and sighed. The floor felt like it was spinning a little bit. She should probably sit down or something.
She opened her eyes and saw a friendly face leaning against the window, a bottle of firewhisky in his hand.
“Hey Pete,” she smiled, joining him against the wall. He didn’t return the warm welcome, just hummed in acknowledgement. “You alright?” She dragged her eyes over his face, something was up, he never acted so cold with her. A look down at the bottle pointed to him being completely off his face.
Peter shifted on his feet, “I’m fine. Just…relaxing.”
“I was wondering where you’d gone off to, I didn’t see you when we sang to Sirius,” even in her drunken state she sensed his tense energy and tried to keep the conversation light.
“Oh yeah?” He said almost sarcastically, “I didn’t think anyone had noticed.”
She shook her head slightly and let out a laugh, “What’re you talking about, Pete? Of course I’d notice if you—“
“How long have I been gone then?” He asked a little too aggressively for her liking.
“I…I don’t know Peter, I’ve been drinking and—“
“Yeah, I know. I also know that your favorite drink is firewhisky mixed with cider, you’ve had four of them already tonight. You only dance to Abba, but you’ll always keep time with your foot to every song you hear. You absolutely loathe potions, but you always light up whenever you figure out the best way to combine ingredients. Your favorite color is orange, but not like pumpkin orange; bold and dramatic like a sunset. You always scrunch your nose before a bludger hit. Your deepest fear is failure, and you still hate the fact that you were put in Hufflepuff even though you pretend you don’t.”
She stared at her friend, completely at a loss for any words as he continued on his tirade.
“I know that you talk to Remus somehow through that book you always carry.”
“How do you—“ her heart beat faster, the only other person to know about that was Sirius.
“I also know you’ve been sneaking into our dormitory for over a year to sleep in Sirius’ bed.” His tone bordered on accusatory. She continued to stare, dumbfounded by all of it.
“Don’t tell me that you notice me,” Pete held her gaze steady for someone that had a half-empty bottle of whisky in his hand, “Because I would know a thing or two about noticing people.”
“You’re wrong,” she whispered, voice cracking slightly. The corridor had stopped tilting, but the air was heavy with discomfort as she gathered her bearings.
Peter took a step closer towards her, “I’m sorry?”
She cleared her throat, “I said you’re wrong. My biggest fear isn’t failure.”
Peter’s laugh was on the verge of bitterness, “Yeah? What is it then, Sirius breaking up with you when he finally gets bored?”
Oh.
Ouch. Is this what it felt like to be stabbed? She was pretty sure he had just jammed a serrated knife into her abdomen.
“No, Peter,” she spat, curling her fists to avoid him seeing her shaking hands, “My biggest fear is losing the people I love, which includes you, believe it or not.”
Before she could move, Peter grabbed her face and kissed her. She froze for a moment, too drunk to fully comprehend what in the actual fuck was going on. Carefully, she grabbed both of his hands and pushed him back gently. “Peter—“
“What the fuck are you playing at, Pete?”
Sirius was standing in the open portrait entrance, eyes narrowed on his friend, full of rage and betrayal.
“Sirius it’s fine, just a misunderstanding—“ she started, as he ignored her to push Peter against the wall.
“Stop!” She stood between them, taking Sirius’ face between her palms. “Look at me, Siri.”
Reluctantly, his blue eyes slid to her, “We’re all shit-faced. Let’s go upstairs and go to bed. Everything’s fine.”
“I don’t want him to touch you. I don’t want anyone to touch you,” she could hear the anger in his voice, the same kind she had heard last year in the forest. The same sadness and fear was present too, just beneath the surface. Unsure of what to say, she kissed him.
“I don’t want anyone else to touch me, Sirius,” she said against his lips, “I love you.”
He stopped and stared at her through heavy lids, mouth still centimeters from hers.
“Say that again.”
“I love you?”
He kissed her softly, “again.”
“I love you.”
He picked her up and she began to laugh, carrying her back toward the common room.
“I’m going to make you scream it so loud the entire tower hears,” he growled into her ear.
As the portrait swung shut, she noticed that Peter had disappeared, and the corridor was empty, save for a half empty whisky bottle.

December 23, 1977
As a collective, they had decided to remain at Hogwarts for the winter holidays, to be together one last time in the place they all called home. All of them, except for Peter.
She had tried to convince him to stay, even going as far as to bribe him with promises to complete the rest of his essays for the year. He had declined every offer. His reasoning allegedly that his parents were going through a tough time, and they wanted to be together for the holidays. She couldn’t argue with that, not when she’d do the same for her family. The feeling was bittersweet as she hugged her friend goodbye on the last day of term, the promises of fun and mischief on the horizon for the next week shadowed by the fractured dynamic now that they’d be missing one piece of the puzzle. They hadn’t spoken about the night of Sirius’ birthday party, the three of them choosing instead to chalk it up to drunken stupidity and sweep it under the rug. But she hadn’t forgotten the way he had spoken to her, how his eyes held such despair and pain. None of it was normal, not for Pete, who was usually quiet and sweet and always made her smile no matter what. Something was going on, she just needed to do some digging.
Pete squeezed her hand once before leaving for the carriage ride over to Hogsmeade station, offering a small reassuring smile before disappearing from the Great Hall that morning. Sirius pulled her onto his lap at the breakfast table, her eyes still focused on Peter exiting the main doors, “Stop worrying,” he murmured into a kiss on her temple.
“I’m not,” she lied.
He gently grabbed her chin to turn towards him, “You’re getting that little crease between your eyebrows, don’t lie to me, Yellowjacket.” She shot him an annoyed glare, trying to not break into a smile.
“So what’s the plan?” Mary leaned forward to look expectantly at the rest of them down the table.
James beamed, “Whatever we want, the castle is ours.”
———
Apparently “whatever we want” meant different things to each person involved.
James and Lily snuck away to ‘explore the grounds’ (which they all knew was code for feeling each other up in the Prefects bathroom); Mary had turned the Common Room into her own personal nightclub, blasting music and dancing around atop the furniture while Marlene and Dorcas played games on the rug by the fire; Remus and her had decided to spend a relaxing afternoon in the library reading, much to Sirius’ annoyance. He had wanted to start a pick-up game of quidditch now that the pitch would be guaranteed empty, but ended up grabbing his broom and heading out solo.
Madam Pince scowled when Remus and her entered the deserted library, angry that her solitary literary oasis was now tainted by their smiling faces. Making a beeline for their preferred table in the corner of the second floor, she pulled out a few books and settled in across from Remus for a marathon reading session with her best friend, even sneaking in snacks from the kitchens so they wouldn’t have to leave for sustenance.
Hours passed, and she had become so engrossed in the book that she didn’t hear someone creeping up behind her.
“Christ—“ she jumped as Sirius pressed a kiss to her temple. Remus let out a low chuckle from across the table, having clearly seen his friend sneak up and chose to not warn her ahead of time.
She shook her head, “You both are pricks…”
“You love us though,” Sirius wrapped both arms around her shoulders and leaned closer to her ear, “Come with me, I have something to show you.”
Shutting the book and setting it on the table, she got up and followed him through the tall shelves towards the back of the library. The sections they began to pass became dustier and older, the light even beginning to fade the further they traveled.
“Siri, where are we going?” She whispered. He reached back and grabbed her hand, tugging her behind one of the shelves, kissing her deeply.
“Pince is going to catch us,” she said in between breaths, hands tangling in his dark hair.
Sirius smiled against her lips, “That’s half the fun.”
She was eternally grateful at the decision to wear a skirt that day, even more so that Sirius had the wherewithal to preemptively place a hand over her mouth before bending her over an ancient wooden desk. By the time they made their way back to where Remus was still sitting, the sun had set and she could already feel bruises forming on her hips.
———
The rest of the break was precisely what she wanted: a whole bunch of doing nothing. Just waking up and leisurely spending time with her best friends. Late one night close to the start of term, they were all strewn about the Gryffindor Common Room; some of them asleep in armchairs or on the floor, the rest just lounging and listening to music comfortably. She laid against Sirius sprawled on the couch, back pressed tightly to his chest as he ran a hand up and down her arm.
“What happens when it’s over?” She spoke softly, Sirius’ hand stilling against her skin.
“When what’s over, love?” The rumble of his voice vibrated against her bones.
“This…Hogwarts. What happens when we’re not together anymore?”
James smiled sadly at her from the armchair across the room, Lily tucked into his side as she slept. “We were uh…actually talking about getting a place together after school,” he looked down at the sleeping redhead lovingly.
“Jamie, that’s amazing,” she grinned at him from across the room. Though she was happy for her friends, a large part of her wanted nothing more than to stay this way forever, never going off and living separately and only seeing each other sporadically; as selfish and unpractical as that sounded.
“What about us?” Sirius muttered into her ear, resuming the comforting brush of his knuckles. She hummed up at him in question.
“We can get an apartment, maybe in London?” His blue eyes sparkled in the light of the fire. She sat up and looked at him properly, “Really? You’d want that?” Sirius nodded firmly.
“What if we went in on it together?” Her eyes tracked to Remus, sitting on the rug by the fireplace.
He gave her a sidelong glance, “I’m not going to be the third-wheel in that house, not with you two shaggin’ on every surface.”
She held out a hand towards him, wiggling her fingers dramatically, “Oh come on, Moony! You know I can’t live without you!”
Sirius chimed in beside her, “Yeah Moons, I promise we’ll only have sex in the kitchen once a month.” She elbowed him in the ribs.
“We can ask Pete too! It’ll be great, and James and Lily can come over for Sunday dinners,” she stared at her best friend hopefully, watching as his glare slowly melted into a reluctant smile.
“Fine, but only because I can’t live without you either…and I get first call on a bedroom.”
“Deal,” she smiled broadly, falling back against Sirius’ chest again, “We can start looking the week we get home from final term.”

January 28th, 1978
“The Order of the Phoenix,” James said proudly, standing in the center of the boys dormitory. The rest of them were lounging around the room on various beds, having chosen to use their room for this particular meeting that James had frantically called.
“James, I’m sorry, but what are you talking about?” She was trying to focus, but Remus was currently across the room sending her crude doodles in their shared sketchbook, trying to make her laugh. Sirius leaned over her shoulder to see, swiftly snatching the book and scrawling something particularly heinous (due to Remus’ immediate grimace upon receiving it).
“It’s a secret society that my parents are a part of, The Order of the Phoenix, Dumbledore started it a few years ago. There’s a bunch of members throughout Great Britain, and some abroad as well I think,” James’ eyes were glittering with excitement.
“A secret society? That’s like something from James Bond,” Mary raised her eyebrows from her spot on Peter’s bed. James gave her a puzzled look.
“Who’s James Bond?” Sirius cautiously muttered, afraid to ridiculed by the multiple muggleborns in the room.
She turned around to pat his cheek patronizingly, “It doesn’t matter darling.” He scowled at her sarcasm while Remus chuckled from his own bed.
“Anyway,” James continued, “they’re actively fighting against Voldemort and his supporters, doing reconnaissance and other shit to try and find out their next move, and stop them every chance they get.”
From behind her, Sirius sat up straighter, clearly intrigued at the notion of being on the front lines. “Don’t even think about it,” she whispered back at him.
He huffed an incredulously breath, “I’m going to join, you can’t possibly stop me.”
“I’d prefer to not have you in danger—“
“—there are people dying!”
“Don’t you think I understand that?” Her voice had raised too loud, the rest of the room falling silent as she stared at Sirius, “I can’t risk losing you, any of you…” she looked around the room at her friends. Lily met her eyes, the normal shade of emerald green dark and sad.
James spoke up first, “I uh…I’m already involved…”
Her heart stopped beating. “Jamie—“
“It’s not official or anything, I still have to swear an oath or whatever and my parents won’t let me do that until after we’re done school. But I’m allowed to be at the meetings, and my parents tell me more information…”
She shook her head in disbelief, “Why didn’t you tell us?” James rubbed the back of his neck uncomfortably, at the same time she felt Sirius shift on the bed behind her. It was Remus’ nervous throat clearing that tipped her off to the betrayal though.
“You all knew…didn’t you? The four of you?” Her eyes shot between Peter, James, Sirius, and Remus. None of which dared look back. “You all planned on joining…”
Sirius made the mistake of reaching for her arm, “Love—“
“Don’t fucking touch me,” she got up off the bed and stormed out of the room, slamming the door. She was halfway down the main corridor by the time Sirius caught up, grabbing her arm in protest.
“Leave me alone,” trying to wrench out of his grasp was futile, he was much stronger than her. He pulled her towards him, gripping her arms tightly as she looked everywhere except for his face.
“Please…” she mumbled.
“Look at me,” he tone was stern, eliciting an immediate reaction from her. When she met his eyes, they didn’t match his voice, instead they were soft and patient. “Talk to me, love. Why are you so upset?”
“You hid this from me! You all did!” She felt insane. From the betrayal by her friends, to the outburst she had in the bedroom, she felt like she was losing her mind a little bit. It’d been years since she’d felt insecure in her friendship with the boys, about feeling any bit left out or that she wasn’t wanted.
Sirius didn’t buy her excuse, “What’s the real problem, though?”
They stared at each other for a beat, his eyes searching hers for the truth. After a deep breath, she let her shoulders drop, “I’m afraid…”
“Of what, love?”
“…of losing any of you. This makes it more real.”
Sirius clicked his tongue, pulling her into a tight hug, “Nothing’s going to happen, we haven’t even officially joined yet. Even so, just because we’re part of the Order, doesn’t mean we’ll do any actual fighting.” She scoffed, “Sirius, I know you, and you would jump at the chance to be on the most dangerous missions.” His laugh was anything but reassuring.
They stood in the quiet corridor for a few minutes, locked in an embrace that she couldn’t bring herself to break. “Why didn’t you include me?” she whispered into his chest.
Sirius kissed the top of her head, “I figured you’d try and stop us. Better to ask for forgiveness than permission y’know.”
“I want to join, something all of you should’ve guessed.”
Sirius smirked, “If it’s any consolation, Moony did say you might want to be involved.”
“That’s because Remus knows me better than anyone else.”
He pulled back, feigning offense, “That’s a bloody lie and you know it!”
She raised an eyebrow in challenge, “Just because you’ve seen me at my most vulnerable, doesn't mean you know me entirely.” Sirius lifted her hand and kissed it, lacing their fingers together to walk back toward the dorm and their awaiting friends.
“Guess I’ll have to try harder, bee."

May 6th, 1978
The Order of the Phoenix wouldn’t pay the bills, a notion that didn’t seem to matter to people like James and Sirius who were worth more than any of them in galleons. But to the rest of them, finding a career after Hogwarts was at the forefront of their minds…at least for her it was. She’d known since her second year what she wanted to do, and she was determined to get a foot in the door. Applying to jobs at the Ministry of Magic required many steps, the first and foremost being receiving the proper O.W.L.’s and N.E.W.T.’s. She’d received Outstanding’s in Transfiguration, History of Magic, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Muggle Studies, Ancient Runes, and most importantly, Care of Magical Creatures. N.E.W.T.’s were being held at the end of the month, and she was practically tearing her hair out about it.
By day, she’d be in the library with Lily and Remus, the only other two that understood her determination. After revising for almost each waking hour, by night she would crawl silently beside Sirius in bed, where he’d coax her slowly (and thoroughly) into relaxation.
“You don’t have to stress so much, I have more than enough inheritance to support us both,” He said one night, propping his head up on a fist to look at her.
“It’s not about the money, Siri,” she ran a hand over his bare chest, marveling at the smoothness of his skin, “I want to help people. I’ve wanted to get into Werewolf Support Services for years, I’m not about to stop now when I’m so close.”
He leaned down to kiss her softly, “I love you, you’re the most incredible woman I know.”
She hummed contently into his lips, pulling him closer.
“I’ll be here with you no matter what, love,” he whispered, hand snaking between their bodies. She sighed at his touch, “Promise me.”
His fingers grazed her core, “Promise what?”
Holding her breath, she squirmed as he teased. “Tell me.”
She squeezed his bicep, pleading with him to give her what she wanted, “Promise you’ll always be here.”
He kissed her softly, touch finally landing where she needed him most, “I’m never going anywhere, love.”

June 10th, 1978
N.E.W.T.s were the following week, and at that point she wasn’t sure she’d eaten a proper meal, or even brushed her hair in days. Every waking moment was either spent revising, or working on her application for the Being Division of the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures. Remus (along with Professor Kettleburn and Madam Pomfrey) had written a letter of support to add to it, going to great lengths to convey her dedication to the advancement and care of those afflicted with Lycanthropy. She’d cried for a continuous hour after reading it.
The Friday before exam week, the entire group sat around the breakfast table, some chatting away about their excitement for the end of school, others (mainly herself, Remus, and Lily) were utterly silent. Unlike her other two exam-weary friends, she sat and picked at breakfast, not even bringing a crumb to her mouth.
“You need to eat,” Remus whispered into her ear, a piece of bacon in hand, “It’ll do you no good if you’re starving during exams.”
“I’m fine,” she grumbled, pushing the plate towards the center of the table, nauseous and irritable.
“Suit yourself,” Remus sighed, turning his attention to the person sitting on her other side, “Pads?”
Sirius looked over at his friend, then down at her picked-over plate. “Love…”
She gave Remus a glare, “You’re such a rat!“
“Oi, speaking of—“ he interjected as Peter rushed towards them, pink cheeked and out of breath.
“What’s up, Wormy?” James raised an eyebrow at him, “You look out of sorts.”
Pete slumped down beside him, exhaling loudly, “Filch took it!”
“Took what, mate?” Remus took another bite of bacon, watching his friend catch his breath. Peter cautiously looked down the table. “The map…” he whispered.
“Are you fuckin’ joking Wormtail?!” Sirius said loudly, causing Mary and Marlene to look up from a few seats away. She placed a hand on his arm in an effort to calm him down.
Peter threw up his hands, “I didn’t mean to!”
“What the fuck happened then?” Sirius gritted his teeth. Remus was tense beside her as well, having the ability to restrain his anger much better than most.
Peter took a deep breath, “I was using the map to check one of the passageways, and I guess I wasn’t paying attention, and the next thing I knew Filch had appeared and almost caught me trying to go behind the mirror on the fourth floor—“
“Why were you going through that passageway? Where were you headed?” She stared at her friend quizzically. That particular passage led to Hogsmeade, the secret tunnel being the largest of any they had found during their time at Hogwarts, big enough that it could hold a group of people. They never used it, finding it too conspicuous to be useful, utilizing the One-Eyed Witch tunnel to sneak into Honeyduke’s instead.
Peter didn’t meet her eyes when he opened his mouth to speak, Sirius instead cutting him off. “Who gives a shit what he was doing, that map was our legacy! And now what? Filch is going to get his grubby little hands on it and who knows what that weirdo is going to do with it!”
She looked at him sidelong, telling by his expression that he was being completely serious.
“I cleared it before he could take it,” Peter muttered, eyes still fixed on his lap, “He won’t be able to use it, unless he figures out the password.”
“Well thank fuck for that, Pete,” Sirius sneered, “I’m glad you decided to use your brain for once.”
Her head snapped to him, “What’s your problem? It was an accident.”
Sirius shook his head, “He always does this, he doesn’t think, and now look what’s happened.”
“It’s not that big of a deal, Pads,” James chastised, clapping a dejected Peter on the shoulder, “Now, I’m going to go let off steam on the pitch, I think a few of you could gain something by joining me.” He gave Sirius a pointed look, who in turn wrapped an arm around her waist.
“Come flying with me,” he nudged her gently, “it’ll make you feel better.”
She shook her head, annoyed at his outburst with Peter. “I’m going to keep revising, I’ll catch up with you later.”
James stood up, followed by Sirius. “C’mon Pete,” the former pulled their friend up by his arm, “You could use the fresh air too.”
She didn’t miss the eye roll Sirius gave as he bent down to kiss the top of her head. “Moony,” he called to Remus beside her, “makes sure she eats, please.” She didn’t respond or look up at him. “I love you,” he whispered before planting one last kiss to her temple and following the other two out the main doors. Her and Remus sat in comfortable silence for a bit, him continuing to eat while she ruminated on a multitude of thoughts that swirled around her head like a cyclone.
“Talk to me,” Remus muttered, never looking up from his plate, his tone giving no room for nonsense. After all these years, he was still the only one to clock her feelings before anyone else.
She sighed, “Peter’s been acting weird.”
Remus cocked an eyebrow at her, “We’re not talking about Sirius?”
“He’s my problem to deal with, I’m more concerned about the other one at the moment. Have you noticed anything?”
Remus thought on it for a moment, crunching another piece of bacon and then passing one to her, “I’ll only tell if you eat something.”
“Fucks sake,” she said under her breath, biting the piece of meat dramatically just for him.
Remus smiled a little as she chewed, “Pete’s been…different since his dad lost his job.”
“He didn’t say anything to me about that, when did it happen?”
Remus squinted in recollection, “Uh…summer of last year I think? He told us when we got back in September one night. His mum’s been under a lot of stress at work and now with this…Pete’s been trying to help however he can, that’s why he didn’t stay here with us for Christmas.”
She nodded, “Yeah I knew he wanted to spend time with his family, he just never specified.”
Remus hummed, “He hasn’t talked much about it to us either. He’s just been really irritable and has a hairpin trigger nowadays. You can imagine what it’s like sharing a room with him and Sirius…”
“Poor Pete,” she stared down at the plate of untouched food, “You’re not upset about the map, are you?”
Remus shook his head, “Nah, it was fun while it lasted. Won’t have much use for it after next month anyway. Better to have it here where maybe it’ll fall into the hands of some young troublemakers.”
“I hope whoever finds it makes Filch’s job a hell of a lot harder.”
Remus smiled, “Cheers to that.”

June 20th, 1978
It had to be some sort of joke. The parchment in her shaky hands fluttered slightly as she read and re-read each word over and and over, brain trying desperately to grasp the words. She inspected the handwriting, looked for any distinguishing marks or something that would give away the letter as being a prank from someone. She doubted anyone she knew would be cruel enough to joke like this.
We’re pleased to offer you a position as Undersecretary to the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures: Being Division, supporting the efforts of the Werewolf Support Services branch.
The sentence was practically burned into her retinas with the amount of times she’d read it. As the realization finally sunk in that this was in fact real life, she huffed out a disbelieving laugh to herself, spinning around in her dormitory trying to figure out her next move. There was only one person she wanted to talk to; one person that knew how badly she had wanted this.
———
Remus was lounging against his headboard reading a muggle novel when she burst through the door, eyes wide and breathing heavily from sprinting up the stairs. Every muscle in his body tensed as he sat up.
“What is it? What’s wrong?” He tried to keep his voice from giving away the panic flooding his veins. Every day the news was worse and worse, attacks getting closer and closer to home and people with more recognizable names dying on the regular. The anxiety was always there, lying in wait for the bomb to drop. Her eyes scanned his face for a moment, expression blank and neutral as she held up a letter.
“Love, what’s happened?” Remus stood up slowly, taking the piece of parchment from her, eyes flying over the words as his heart hammered away in his chest. He prayed it wasn’t her family, held his breath that the war hadn’t finally struck home.
“I…I got in…” she whispered.
Remus looked up from the paper, seeing the smile beginning to take shape on her face. All fear evaporated from his body as she beamed, eyes brimming with tears.
“I’ve officially been hired by Werewolf Support Services. I actually did it, Remus,” her voice broke as he reached for her, lifting her into a full-body hug. “I’m so proud of you,” he said into her hair, spinning around in the center of the room.
She clung to him, inhaling the familiar scent of her best friend. “I’m finally going to make a difference. I’m going to fix it, Moony.”
Remus buried his face in her neck, the love he had for her overflowing, “You’re going to do great. If anyone can do it, it’ll be you.” She squeezed him tighter, opening her mouth to say something as the dormitory door was kicked open.
“Oi! Hands off my girl.” Sirius leaned against the door frame, voice dripping with sarcasm, “Moony, we’ve talked about this. If you want a three-way, you just have to ask.”
Her and Remus groaned, pulling away from each other to give Sirius matching death glares. “Don’t be crass,” she pointed at him, “I have zero interest in having sex with any of my friends, thank you very much.”
Sirius cocked an eyebrow, “What happened between us then?”
She rolled her eyes, trying to hide a smile, “Oh get fucked, Black.”
“I’m trying to!” He threw his arms out. She ignored the comment entirely, holding out the letter for him instead.
“What’s this?” He took the parchment and skimmed the paragraph quickly. When he’d finished, his blue eyes shot to her in excitement.
“You got in,” he said.
“I got in,” she nodded with barely contained joy. Sirius grabbed her face, giggles erupting from her between kisses.
“I’m…so…proud…of…you!” punctuated each press of his lips to hers. His hands began to wander to her shoulders, then down and around her waist; the kisses that started out quick now becoming more heated.
“Moony,” Sirius purred as he placed a kiss against her jaw, “I need you to leave now.”
Remus sighed as he grabbed his forgotten book from atop the bed, “I’ll be in the library, please try not to break any of the furniture in here. I’ll see you both at dinner.” Sirius backed her onto the bed as the door shut.
“Mmmmm…I doubt it,” he purred as he knelt between her legs.
———
June 24, 1978
Sirius stroked a thumb down her ankle as she placed a kiss to his temple. Carried atop his back, she laughed as they made their way down towards Hogsmeade Station as a group, choosing to walk instead of using the carriages in the hopes of wringing out every last drop of time together. Behind them, Remus talked animatedly with Lily about a book they were both currently engrossed in, James’ arm casually slung over her shoulder as he pretended to listen intently. Ahead, Marlene, Mary, and Dorcas skipped about, the latter two loudly singing an Olivia Newton-John song they’d heard on the muggle radio. Peter walked beside her and Sirius, the two boys in deep conversation about the state of Puddlemere United, and whether or not they’d win a championship this year.
From the higher vantage point, she looked around; taking in the sight of her friends, listening to their voices, breathing in the warm Scottish air for the last time. James caught her gaze and smiled, and she knew he was soaking it all in too.
When they arrived at the station, Sirius set her down gently, kissing her once before boarding the train with James to find them a compartment. The rest of them filed in as younger students ran past, laughing and shouting about their summer plans. She paused at the railing of the platform, staring off across the Black Lake to the castle casting shadows over the dense forest beyond.
“It’s weird to know we won’t be coming back,” Remus leaned beside her, sweeping his eyes over the landscape, “doesn’t feel real.”
She hummed, “I can’t believe we’ll all never eat breakfast again as a dysfunctional, obnoxious family.”
Remus chuckled, “Or worry about getting caught out of bed after curfew.”
“Or try to wrangle the drunk dynamic duo after a quidditch win.” Memories surfaced of having to coax James and Sirius (both incredibly wasted) down from the rafters of Gryffindor Tower after a particularly raucous victory party last year.
“Oh that’s probably…definitely still going to happen,” Remus smiled.
She sighed, the sound filled with sadness but also excitement for the future, “I’m glad I got to spend these years with you, Remus. I’m glad we all found each other.”
He threw an arm around her shoulders as they stared at Hogwarts one final time, “I’m excited to spend the rest of my years with you degenerates as well.”

The Doe Eyed Woman
Thomas Shelby x reader
Warnings: Nothing really, just swearing and my bad writing:)
Requested by: anonymous
Word count: 1,923 of pure trash
Summary: Grace doesn’t understand why Tommy won’t give her the time of the day, but when she sees a beautiful doe eyed woman comforting Tommy she’s even more confused. So she decides to ask Harry who the mysteriously beautiful woman is.
*******************************************************
Grace was having a hard time figuring out Thomas Shelby. She thought he was going to be easy to seduce, what more could he want? She was a beautiful woman who seemed to care about him. So why wouldn’t he even spare her a glance?
She had been working at the Garrison for weeks now, always making sure to push up her breast a little more than normal and look at Tommy like she wanted to pounce him when he walked through the doors, but when she was only receiving hungry and lustful stares from his brother John, she gave up. Was she not trying hard enough? Or was she trying too hard?
One day she dolled up extra nice, wearing a beautiful emerald dress, enough to catch eyes but nothing too extra. She was probably the only color Small Heath had to offer.
Walking into the Garrison that morning she knew it was going to be a busy day, judging by the line of men waiting outside the doors. Some of which she recognized from being regulars.
“Good morning Grace!”
“Mornin’ Mr.Harris,” she gave him the nicest smile she could, knowing he brought in a majority of Harry’s funds.
She went into the back after bidding Harry a good day, and put away her coat and such. She checked herself in the mirror, making sure everything was perfect before going to the bar and getting ready for business.
****************Time Skip***************
Later in the afternoon it had surprisingly calmed down, Grace was just refilling a glass here and there, having small talk with Harry, but then her moment of peace was broken.
Everyone could hear the yelling from outside, no doubt the Shelby brothers had gotten into something. The yells were full of harsh words and they were steadily getting louder, meaning they were coming closer.
Most the people in the bar decided to leave now while they could, not ready to face the wrath of the angry brothers. It was very clear they were not having a good day.
While the shouts were getting increasingly louder and more men scurried out, Grace double checked herself in the mirror, undoing a button or two from the top of her dress.
The three brothers and even their Aunt Polly stormed in, they all had fire behind their eyes. Tommy was looking the most pissed between the four of them. Maybe now was her chance to comfort him.
She looked up at him through her lashes, “would you like some whiskey, Mr.Shelby?”
He gave her a brief glance before nodding his head, and walked back towards the private booth.
Grace frowned a little, maybe today wasn’t her day after all. Surely he would break soon though, right? After all he was Thomas Shelby, he was a very closed off man. Just a little bit longer and she was sure he would break.
The rest of the Shelbys/Grays decided to follow Tommy’s lead into the back, all nodding to Grace to let her know they would like whiskey as well. As they were all entering the private booth, John was the last one in. Before he shut the door he turned and looked at Grace with a knowing look on his face, “nice dress, really matches your eyes love,” and winked before shutting the door. Grace blushed profusely, why wouldn’t Tommy compliment her?
After grabbing the whiskeys and heading towards the booth Grace heard the door to the bar opening, but she didn’t bother to look, too preoccupied with trying to get Tommys attention. She made sure she bent down low enough at the table for anyone to see down her shirt. Naturally Tommy didn’t look, but she could feel Johns eyes on her and sighed.
She was a little shocked when she walked out the booth to see a beautiful woman talking to Harry, she had never seen you around before.
After hearing the door to the room shut, you kindly ended your conversation with Harry and turned around to walk in. Grace was astonished by your beautiful doe eyes, they made you look so pure and innocent. At that moment Grace became a little self conscious of her own eyes, yours were absolutely breathtaking.
Walking towards the door to see your husband and family, Grace quickly stopped you saying you were not allowed to go in there.
“I’m so sorry miss, but the room is occupied at the moment and is for family only.” She said it like she was proud, keeping a treasure like you away from Tommy was probably a good thing, she couldn’t have the attention taken from her.
You looked at Grace for a moment, thinking she was joking. But when you realized she wasn’t you let out a chuckle.
Grace turned a little red in the face, why were you laughing? She said nothing funny. “I’m sorry, but who are you? You can’t go in there so stop laughing and go sit somewhere else!” She increasingly became frustrated as you began to laugh harder.
Harry did not look pleased at all.
“Look-“
Harry finally had enough, scared to let it go too far because he knew how Tommy acted when someone disrespected his wife. “Grace, she is fine. Let her through.”
Grace looked at Harry stunned and unwillingly moved to the side to allow you in. You turned and gave a great full smile to Harry before making your way toward the door. Before you got there you made sure to “accidentally” hit Graces shoulder for a little dramatic affect. You chuckled one more time at her flabbergasted face and shut the door behind you.
Grace turned to ask Harry a question, but he was already dealing with another customer. She would just ask him later then.
**************20-ish minutes later*************
Around five minutes ago Aunt Polly and the brothers had left, leaving you and Tommy in the private booth. You could tell he had a rough day, you could see it in his eyes. Oh how you could get lost in his eyes. You could look in them for hours feeling like you were drowning in the sea, and you told him too. He always says you’re being dramatic but then tells you how much he loves your eyes. Claims they’re like beauty he’s never seen before.
“Tommy,” you said softly. You didn’t want to disturb him, he seemed lost in his own world. When he didn’t acknowledge the calling of his name you took it upon yourself to move closer towards him. You carelessly swung your legs over his lap so you were straddling him, banging your knee on the table in the process. You silently cursed yourself, feeling the bruise forming already.
Tommy had finally focused his attention on you, laughing at your clumsiness. He sat down his whiskey and rubbed his hands up your thighs affectionately, smiling as your eyes met.
“You okay love?” He struggled to keep in his chuckles at your pained look. “Gotta’ be more careful baby, can’t have you marking up your beautiful body.”
You stared at him with the look, the one that made his heart swoon, your captivating doe eyes boring into his ocean blues.
“Well to be fair, Thomas, I wouldn’t have bruised myself if you paid attention to me,” you stopped and reached up to grab his face, forcing him to look at you, “ what’s going on in that big head of yours, eh love?”
Tommy sighed, deciding to let the insult you threw at him pass. “Just a busy day love, that Solomons is a bloody pain in my arse.”
You chuckled at this, knowing of his rocky relationship with the crazy London man. You liked him though, he seemed to be the only one to truly challenge Tommy. He kept him on his toes and you enjoyed their childlike banter. No one would think either of them were notorious gangsters if they saw the way they acted together.
“Give Alfie a break honey, I’m sure he says the same about you,” you giggle to a very annoyed Tommy.
“At least I’m tolerable, he’s like a rooster who crows at the arse crack of dawn,” he smiled when he heard your loud bark of laughter. He couldn’t help but join in himself. After moments of laughing together at the despair of Alfie Solomons, Tommy looked at you with a loving look on his face. He loved when you laughed like that, completely getting lost in the moment.
You looked up at Tommy too and smiled at him, wrapping your arms tighter around his neck before leaning in to give him a kiss. Tommy squeezed both your thighs tight, smiling into the kiss himself like a lovesick teenager.
*******************************************************
Unbeknownst to you and Tommy, Grace had seen everything through a crack in the side window. She was going to hand Tommy a drink through it, but stopped when she heard your giggles. She had yet to ask Harry who you were.
When she saw you on Tommy’s lap she was shocked, must be a whore she thought. But then she saw the look in Tommy’s eyes, a look she had never seen them portray before.
Love
Thomas Shelby was in love with whoever that woman was. Was this why she couldn’t get through to him? Were you the one clouding his judgement this whole time?
Looking through the crack one more time Grace quickly looked away when seeing you kissing. She may have been spying on him but she wasn’t a creep. Seeing that her suspicions were confirmed, Grace became even more curious as to who you were. The doe eyed woman was the one dancing through his mind all day, not Grace.
But just who were you?
Just as Grace was turning around she saw Harry making his way over.
“Harry!” She called waving down his attention. Harry cocked a brow before making his way over to the barmaid.
“Who is that woman in there with Tommy? The one you told me to let through earlier?”
Harry looked at her momentarily shocked, had she not known ? Surely everyone in Small Heath knew about the beauty that tamed the beast.
“That, in there is y/n Shelby. Tommy’s wife.”
Grace looked at him with wide eyes. Wife? He was married?
“Oh, I didn’t know he was married. How long have they been together?”
“Since before the war Grace, she’s always been by his side for as long as I can remember. Just know they’re happily married and to never be rude to her, woman or not Tommy will have your head. Now be a dear and go serve the man in the back, he’s been waiting for minutes.” And with that Harry walked off.
Grace stood there for moments in shock. Why hadn’t she known he was married?
As she was walking away to serve the man in the corner, she looked through the crack one last time.
There sitting in the booth was Tommy, with you snuggled into his chest while he adoringly rubbed your back. When she grabbed a refill for the man she realized something.
She was jealous of the doe eyed woman

can you write “Hit my husband again and I’ll fucking kill you” but this time Mickey says it 😯 always wondered how he respond to a lip and ian show down
The house was quiet when Mickey woke up from his accidental afternoon nap. He sighed into the pillow, stretching an arm over the space where Ian would normally lie.
It was cold. Of course it was—it was the middle of the fuckin’ day. Ian was probably still at work, at that dead-end job that barely even made a dent in the bills.
That made Mickey sigh for a different reason.
He was thinking about just staying there, going back to sleep until Ian got home. Ian would accuse him of sleeping all day anyway; he might as well make it true.
Then a crash sounded through the house, the outer wall vibrating against Mickey’s extended leg, and raised voices rose up through the floor vent.
“What the fuck were you thinking?” Mickey heard Lip shout as he rolled off the bed and scrambled for the closed accordion door.
He ripped it open, stumbled out into the hallway, caught himself on the wall when another thud sounded from below.
“Was thinking I didn’t want to be little bitch like you,” Ian’s voice echoed up the stairs, gravely and rough.
There was a clatter, like dishes falling, and the sound of flesh hitting flesh.
Well, Mickey thought absently. Guess Ian was home after all.
He hurried to the stairs, tripped over the first one, and kept going. When he got to the landing, he stopped, watching the carnage that was Ian and Lip Gallagher trying to pummel each other in the middle of the family kitchen.
Ian was winning, that was for damn sure. He had Lip in a headlock, using his height to his advantage, while his brother flailed. It didn’t last long, though, Ian’s arms loosening when he caught sight of Mickey with wide eyes, and Lip finally got in a solid hit to Ian’s gut.
Ian went down. Lip followed.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa,” Mickey yelled out, rushing down the steps as soon as Ian fell. “The fuck is goin’ on down here?”
Neither Ian nor Lip responded, too busy grappling on the floor to spare him a glance. Ian kneed Lip in the groin—Lip pulled Ian’s hair. Ian hooked a leg around Lip’s and flipped them, pinning his older brother to the floor—Lip headbutted him, scrambling out from underneath.
Mickey was there when he stood, shoving Lip into the corner of the counter to get to Ian’s side. He reached down to grasp Ian’s arm, help him up, but his husband slapped his hand away, too preoccupied with a freshly bloodied nose to notice whose it was.
“Ian, hey!” Mickey yelped, shaking his hand out. “What are you hitting me for?”
“He does that,” Lip spit out off to the side, cradling his ribs as he leaned against the cabinets. “Likes to take shit out on people that are trying to help him.”
Oh, hell no.
Mickey left Ian there on the floor, holding his nose and staring up at Mickey apologetically, and marched the two steps over to Lip. He stood close, toe to toe, and leaned in even closer.
“The fuck you just say about him?” he hissed in Lip’s bruised face.
Lip blinked.
“He just quit his job, Mickey, he tell you that?” Lip asked. “He tell you he threw away the only good thing this family has right now?”
Mickey paused. Cut his eyes down to Ian without moving out of Lip’s space.
“That true?” he asked, and Ian didn’t answer. His silence was answer enough.
Mickey turned back to Lip.
“So he quit that stupid-ass job,” he said. “You started a fight over that?”
“We need the money, Mickey!” Lip cried. “Not like you’re helping out, and we can’t all live off stolen cereal all the time!”
“Yeah? Our contributions not enough for you, college?” Mickey asked. “How’s your job doin’ right now?”
“Mickey,” Ian said from the floor, quiet.
“Not now, Ian,” Mickey responded. “I’m taking care of something.”
He let his voice drop, pushing forward enough that Lip should be able to feel the heat of his breath, the heat behind his words.
“You don’t get to put that shit on Ian,” he growled. “Or on me. You’re a grown ass man, start acting like it.”
“He started it,” Lip said. “Threw a damn bowl at me when I told him he needed to go beg for that job back.”
“Don’t care who hit who first,” Mickey said flatly, not pulling back. “Or why. You hit my husband again at all, and I’ll fuckin’ kill you.”
Lip swallowed, audibly. His eyes flitted off to the side.
“Whatever,” he said, feigning disinterest, and shoved at Mickey’s chest.
Mickey let him, falling back a step so Lip could move away from the counter. He watched as Lip left, not bothering to stop and help Ian, just going straight out the back door and letting it slam shut.
Mickey waited a breath, watching, but the door stayed closed. Then he went to Ian, and helped him up properly this time.
“You good?” Mickey asked. He didn’t specify as to what.
“Yeah,” Ian said on a sigh. “I’m good, Mick.”
“You sure?”
Ian offered a half-grimace, half-smile. “I’m sure. Families fight, Mickey, it’s nothing new.”
Mickey snorted. “Yeah, you think I don’t know that, wise guy?”
Ian’s smile turned real.
“Yeah,” he agreed. “Sorry, that was stupid.”
“It’s okay,” Mickey told him, then, “I’m kinda proud of you, you know.”
“For quitting that job?” Ian asked. “I know you hated it.”
“No,” Mickey answered. “For beating the shit out of Lip.”
He waited as Ian laughed, watching the way it brought life back into his pained eyes.
“Now come on,” he said as the laughter began to fade. “There’s a warm spot on the bed callin’ your name, man, go get in it.”
Ian skated a hand over Mickey’s hip as he obediently moved toward the stairs.
“Are you coming with me?” he asked, and Mickey nodded.
They would talk about it later, he was sure. About the job, about Lip, about the future. About why Ian felt the need to fight his brother in the middle of the house, in the middle of the day, over something he would have agreed with about just hours ago.
But that could wait.
“Sure, Ian,” he said. “Let’s go enjoy our fucking extended honeymoon.”

prompt | @ssoftlydreaming asked: nfjsja ok from sweet home can you do lee eun-hyeok and basically he has to decide if he should risk the danger of everyone in the apartment complex or save reader who is outside and struggling to survive.
warnings | female pronouns, angst, spoilers for episode one of the netflix adaptation of sweet home, if you haven’t watched episode one complete then this won’t make much sense, panic attacks, the general horror of sweet home, eun-hyuk being a logical pain in the ass, somewhat of an open-ending.
word count | 1.7K
author’s note | i hope this satisfies your masochistic desires! i’m honestly so happy to have angst as my first request, and that isn’t sarcasm at all.
Tumblr media
The sound of his descending footsteps echoing throughout the concrete stairwell became background noise to Eun-Hyuk as he stared at the unanswered messages he had sent you well over an hour ago. This was strange behavior coming from you, considering you usually responded back within minutes. Not wanting to jump to conclusions, he tried to think of a logical explanation to calm his increasing worries. Perhaps your phone died on your walk home, or you had to work over-time without a chance to inform him.
He was certain some minor inconvenience caused your abrupt absence, although he couldn’t shake off the unnerving feeling settling like a burden of tense muscles upon his shoulders. Realizing there wasn’t much more he could do, especially since all the calls he gave you went straight to voice mail, he decided to wait patiently for a reply from you and try to keep his thoughts clear during the meantime.
Eun-Hyuk stuffed his phone into his pocket as he finally reached the half-open double doors that led out onto the first floor, his ears immediately picking up on the commotion before he looked over at the front entrance that was blocked by the shutters. A group of people stood dispersed nearby, talking amongst themselves and watching one resident in particular as he tried tugging on the metal bracing that barely budged. The man sighed, dropping his arm and admitting defeat as he walked away from the shutters, mumbling to himself.
‘First the elevators aren’t working, and now this?’ he thought to himself, unimpressed with the current situation, especially since he had work that night. He wasn’t the only one annoyed by the circumstances as the surrounding people openly expressed their vexation. Although, unlike most of them, he remained calm and simply observed the scene with his hands in his pockets. Multiple residents spoke loud enough for him to catch on to the fact that the security guard was missing, which made little sense considering this was an issue for him to resolve.
“Excuse me?” a feminine voice sounded from behind him, causing him to turn around and look at the woman. “Do you have any service on your cell?” Despite having just been on his phone, Eun-Hyuk was so preoccupied with his thoughts regarding your whereabouts that he didn’t notice the minor detail of whether he had any service.
Pulling out his phone and unlocking it, he immediately dialed your number, taking the possibility to hopefully connect with you and find out where you were. When his ear met with a high-pitched ringing, Eun-Hyuk lowered the phone, lost in thought for a second before looking at the woman.
“I guess not,” he said, watching as her face dropped in disappointment and she turned to walk away, but he stopped her with a question. “What’s going on here?”
The woman hesitated, wondering if anything was even worth sharing considering she would give him more questions than answers. She went on to explain how every main exit had been closed up, locking everyone inside. Although she speculated someone was behind this, she had no idea who it was and for what purpose it was done.
The explanation caused Eun-Hyuk to swallow thickly before turning his gaze towards the concealed entrance. He stared for a moment, silently wishing for your safety.
                                                          ―――
A shrill ringing penetrated your ear, causing you to jerk your head away from your phone and hang up on your attempt at calling Eun-Hyuk. With a frustrated cry, you threw your cellphone upon the ground, hearing the shattering of the screen as it smacked face-first against the concrete.
On the verge of tears, you made yourself as small as possible in the alleyway's corner, pulling your knees up to your chest as you rested your forehead on top of them. Your breathing grew increasingly more labored as the sensation of dread and pure hopelessness consumed your mind.
Eun-Hyuk’s words repeated in your head during times like this, when you were at risk of having a panic attack. Stay still. Take slow breaths. Think of something nice.
You squeezed your eyes shut, allowing the gathering tears to flow freely down your cheeks as they gathered at the tip of your chin. Forcing yourself to take in deep breaths, your trembling body gradually stilled. Eventually, your thoughts morphed as you focused on your breathing, rather than the surrounding chaos.
Think of something nice.
Eun-Hyuk’s face filled your mind, the sight prompting a ghost of a smile. You recalled your first meeting which occurred almost a year ago, when you had just moved into Green Roof Apartments. Someone had suddenly removed the towering stack of boxes you were carrying from your hold, and just as you were about to thank the person for helping, you realized you recognized him.
It turns out that you both used to attend the same high school, although you weren’t in the same class, your friend group interacted with his friend group quite a lot. Seeing his face brought back all those times at lunch when you would sneakily try to steal glances at him without your friends noticing. They noticed, of course, and teased you relentlessly about your crush but they were nonetheless supportive. They even proposed setting you two up on a date, because a ‘little birdie’ told them he had been crushing on you too.
Unfortunately, you were in such denial that someone as handsome as him had feelings for you, and rejected the offer. He was simply unobtainable, the extent of your relationship never surpassing polite greetings and friendly smiles until you both graduated and never saw each other again. Or at least, that’s what you assumed would happen.
It seemed fate gave you two another chance, unsatisfied with your prior silent pining and not acting upon anything. Considering you both matured immensely, talking came easy, and it wasn’t long before a much deeper connection began blossoming between the both of you.
His sister reacted indifferently when she walked out into the hallway one day, only to witness the both of you moving suspiciously away from each other, as if trying to conceal something. She caught on immediately, especially since her brother had been mentioning you quite often.
“Seriously? He’s the best you can do?” She scoffed, eyeing her brother disapprovingly before pushing between the both of you and walking off. You stared at her retreating figure in shock, oblivious to the smile on Eun-Yoo’s face as she disappeared down the stairs.
Once his sister found out, Eun-Hyuk became increasingly more open in terms of your relationship. And eventually, after a long week of his sister degrading him for not moving to the next step, he asked you to be his girlfriend. It wasn’t the most romantic of set-up’s; he had knocked on your door and asked you so casually that you wondered if he was joking.
When he assured you he wasn’t, you almost knocked him off his feet from the abrupt hug you gave him, accepting his simple proposal.
The memory faded, and the realization hit you like a truck. Eun-Hyuk was waiting for you, and you couldn’t give up on him. Taking a deep breath, you got up from the ground, trying not to focus on the screams and sounds of destruction in the distance as you lightly jogged towards the entrance of the alleyway. You peered behind the wall and looked both ways. The coast was clear; it was now or never.
                                                           ―――
You raced around the corner, narrowly dodging the attention of a nearby monster as its head popped up from one of the many dumpsters lining the brick wall of Green Roof Apartments, the location you had been trying to reach from when this all started.
The sound of metal creaking, which you quickly recognized to be the shutters descending, urged your aching legs to run faster as the darkness before you faded the closer you got to the entrance. That’s when you noticed Eun-Hyuk struggling to keep the shutters open as a distraught woman crawled towards him. He reached out a hand towards her, just as he looked up and made eye contact with you. His eyes widened at the sight, although bloodied and bruised, you were very much alive. You smiled at him, relieved, feeling safe already.
That was until you heard a rustling coming from your right, along with animalistic groans, as if something was just stirring back to life after being immobilized and ready to lash out again. A flurry of panicked voices came from the lobby of the apartment, everyone watching in horror as the hunched-over silhouette of the monster with a snake-like tongue began recovering to its full height.
Luckily for you, the monster disregarded your presence as it ambled towards the entrance. You stood frozen in fear as the shadow of its body passed over you, the sound of its languid steps lulling you into a trance as your body trembled lightly.
It was perceptible that trying to run past it would end in your demise, leaving you stuck on what to do. Your pleading eyes drifted towards Eun-Hyuk, hoping he would come up with a plan to distract the monster long enough so you could make a break for the gap underneath the shutters he had been holding open - a perfect enough size for you to slide under.
He stared you dead in the eyes as he dropped the shutters; the metal clanging loudly against the tiled floor. You blanched, staring back at him in disbelief. A semblance of guilt took over his features, and you shook your head in denial.
Your eyes stung with tears, and you wondered whether to cry and beg for him to help you or keep the remaining bit of dignity you had left. The monster suddenly shot its tongue within the gaps of the barred metal and Eun-Hyuk disappeared from sight as he dodged; the trance you were in instantly dissipating as you came to terms with the situation.
He left you to fend for yourself, surrounded by a horde of monsters. You weren’t sure whether to give up or keep going, considering nothing seemed worth fighting for at the moment.
Did he regret it? Of course. Would he do it again? Without question. Eun-Hyuk would sacrifice anyone to keep his sister safe, even you, and even himself.

gold rush (bill weasley) part 1
pairing: bill weasley x reader
summary: “everybody wonders what it would be like to love you.” bill weasley is a golden boy, but i don’t like a gold rush. (based on the song “gold rush” by taylor swift)
wc: 3.1k
warnings: none, someone walking in on someone else but nothing dirty, swearing
a/n: hello! so i didn’t mean for this to be so long lol but anyway, there will be more. once again, a song has inspired me to write. i feel like gold rush totally describes bill and so i tried to run with that. as always, i would love comments/feedback. also if you like it please reblog/follow! i want to start taking requests!
--------------
what a cliche it would be to be hopelessly in love with bill weasley. the charming gryffindor was the poster child of his house, his year, and his family. don't get it twisted, it wasn't that he didn't deserve all the praise; he was kind to younger students, witty in his classes, and bloody brilliant in your shared defense against the dark arts class. you just found it a little funny that everyone he met instantly fell in love with him. how could you take someone like that seriously?
"so you really don't think he's cute?" your friend, rose, asked you as you entered the great hall, the smell of fresh bread and pumpkin juice temporarily distracting you.
"no, that's actually not what i said. he's quite fit, it's just think people make too much of a big deal about it. sometimes i think you'll wet yourself when he looks at you in the corridor." you threw yourself down at your table and started reaching for the pile of sandwiches in the middle of the table. if you two wanted to make it to the beginning of the gryffindor vs ravenclaw game, this would have to be a quick lunch.
"well it's not everyday you see an arse like that in the corridor!" rose says. taken aback by her forward statement, you shove her shoulder, "gross, rose." after a few more minutes of conversation and inappropriate comments from rose, you down the last of your juice and pull your companion off the bench and toward the door.
you could hear cheers long before you were close to the game. after finding a spot with your house, you saw madam hooch release the snitch and the players shoot up to start following the quaffel. a flash of red hair passes in front of the stands as another weasley, charlie, flies at lightning speed.
The game was action packed, but not short. your cold muscles ached a bit as you moved them to walk into your dorm and sit on your bed. as if reading your mind, your roommates crowd into the bathroom to start the showers. you groan, knowing that at this rate, it'll be an hour before you can warm yourself with hot water. then a thought crosses your mind. the prefect bathrooms. your sister had been a prefect years before and had told you where they were, something you were silently thanking her for now. you gathered your towel and robe and slipped out of the room before anyone could ask where you were going.
The prefect bathroom was large and dimly lit, something that made it seem even colder when you walked in. on the far wall there was a myriad of knobs, all leading into a large bath that looked like it could hold your entire upper level herbology class. throwing down your stuff on a nearby bench, you rush to turn all the knobs you can, as blue, and green, and sparkling gold liquids splash into the basin along with steaming water. you slid out of your cold clothes and into the tub, hissing at the difference in temperature between your skin and the water. the water was heavenly and you sunk in until your shoulders were under the water, pulling your hair up from the nape of your neck so not to wet it. the room had filled with the scent of lavender and honeysuckle, and you closed your eyes to take it in.
suddenly there was a creak that you immediately recognized as the door opening. 'fuck, fuck, fuck,' you thought. you could chance jumping out and hoping the person didn't see you naked or you could wait to get caught. you decided that your clothes were too far, and started frantically ushering as many bubbles to you as possible, trying to cover your body. you turn your back to the entrance just as you see the shadow of someone begin to round the corner.
"oh, shit, i'm sorry i didn't realize someone was in here." you wanted to curl up into a human ball of embarrassment. not only did the voice belong to a boy, but you knew exactly which boy it belonged to, and it rhymed with will beasley. unsure of how to respond, you just let out a nervous laugh, not wanting to let your voice give you away as someone who was definitely not a prefect.
"okay, well... i'll just come back later." you waited until you could no longer hear footsteps to climb out of the tub. once dry and wrapped in your fluffy robe, you reentered the hallway, but only after sticking your head out to make sure bill wasn't waiting by the door. as you walked back to your dorm, you could only begin to imagine all the teasing rose would give you when she found out he had seen you in the bath. luckily, by the time you cocooned yourself in your comforter, she was already asleep. you would have to tell her in the morning, or maybe you wouldn't.
**
by breakfast the three days later, the bath incident had left your mind. after the first 24 hours, you felt sure bill hadn't suspected anything, and even if he did, there was no way he could tell who the student in the bath was. you had to pause with the spoon of porridge halfway between your bowl and your mouth, because rose's impression of flitwick had made you burst into laughter. an owl fluttered down in front of you, dropping an envelope with your mother's handwriting on the front. you ripped it open and began to read.
"Dear y/n,
Hello love, I hope you're doing well with all of your classes this term. I'm writing to tell you that we'll be spending part of the Easter holiday with one of my friends and her family. Her name is Molly and she has two sons at hogwarts. Be sure to say hello to them, Molly says they're nice boys. The three of you can leave school together to travel home for break. I miss you dearly and can't wait to hear about your term in person.
love always,
mum"
rose put her chin on my shoulder to read the letter. "i didn't know your mum was friends with the weasley's," she giggled, obviously thinking about bill. "yeah, well that makes two of us." to be honest, you never really realized your mum had close friends. there was no reason for her not to, it had just never occurred to you that your parents were people outside of being your parents.
"actually, it makes four of us," you whipped around to see bill and charlie, a letter you assumed was similar to yours grasped in bill's hand. "my mum wrote they met here as kids and ran into each other a few weeks ago in diagon alley." his easy smile was attractive and his hair fell effortlessly into place, with one soft strand too short to be pushed behind his ear. it looked almost like someone had written it in, it was so perfectly placed.
"wicked," escaped rose's lips as a strained whisper. you elbowed her, praying that she would come to her senses and start acting like a real person.
"listen, i got to run to practice, but let's meet in the main entrance tomorrow morning, yeah? 10am?" charlie butt in, reaching around his brother to grab a banana off your table and without waiting for even a nod, turned to catch up with the rest of his team at the other end of hall.
"sorry about him, he's..." bill was suddenly looking down at you with a slightly funny expression, a small grin on his face.
"preoccupied?" you finish his sentence, marking the first words you've said since he approached you.
"yeah," then, he leans down close enough that only you can hear him when he says, "next time you go for a soak, i suggest trying the orange blossom bubbles," maintaining eye contact with you the whole time.
taken aback, you feel yourself get blush and lean back, your brow furrowed, "what? how did you-"
"i didn't realize you were so interested in astronomy, y/n," he says a little louder, standing back to his tall figure and casually tapping the back of his neck.
you mimic his motion and remember the small tattoo of a moon that sat at where your neck met your shoulders. you close your eyes and cover them with one hand. maybe if you shut your eyes hard enough and clicked your heals he would disappear. or even better, you would. "i'll see you tomorrow," he sent another cheeky smile and turned to walk away, hands in his pocket, laughing quietly to himself.
"um... what the fuck," rose spoke, making you realize you were still watching his back. "what was that about? how does he know about your tattoo?"
"he might've walked in on my while i was bathing a few days ago," you said, bracing yourself for the inevitable.
"WHAT?!" it was even louder than you expected. honestly, you loved rose but bringing attention to herself, and by proxy, you, was something she had a knack for, but not in an endearing way.
"would you calm down please? everyone was taking too long in the showers so i went to the prefects' bathroom and he came in. he only saw my back so i didn't think he knew who it was, but i forgot to account for moony back there," you rolled your eyes, how could you forget about something that you had chosen to put on your body forever?
"merlin, that's so not fair, do you know what i would give to be seen naked by bill weasley?" once again, you were slightly horrified by a comment made by your best friend. this is what you didn't understand about everyone's fascination surrounding bill. even as he walked away, you had noticed a handful of other students following him with their eyes. it was a fact that bill was attractive, beautiful even, but the way people would do anything for his attention freaked you out. being treated like that had to go to someone's head eventually.
"okay, that's enough of that. i'm just glad he didn't give me detention or something," you went back to your breakfast, although you were no longer very hungry.
**
the journey to the weasley's cottage by the sea was uneventful. in the morning, you boarded the hogwarts express with charlie and bill. you didn't speak much, but read a book in your shared compartment while charlie talked to bill non-stop about the latest quidditch techniques. "and i've been reading about dragons, and how they fly, and i think it would be really cool to try some of their flying patterns on a broom. it would be really hard and i'd have to make a few adjustments, because obviously i'm not a huge majestic creature, but if it worked, it'd be brilliant!" you looked up to see charlie on the edge of his seat, trying to mark some of the flying patterns, and looking intently at bill, as if waiting for him to be just as excited. "that sounds great, charlie, really. how did you start on about dragons?" bill quickly caught your eye and tried to share some of the amusement his brother brought him. "hagrid gave me a book, they're really something, bill."
your party gets off at king's cross, and you followed the older boy through the station, until he stops in front of a women's toilet. "uh, i think the men's is over there," you said pointing behind you. charlie laughed. "hah," bill faked a monotone laugh, "there's a portkey inside that will take us to shell cottage. dad said it was a," he looked down at a paper in his hand, "toilet brush. lovely. right, we have three minutes until it leaves. ladies first." he gestured and you entered the room. it was somewhat cramped with the three of you and your trunks, but in the corner was a white, and thankfully clean looking, toilet brush. you grabbed it and held it out for the others to hold on too. after about 10 seconds of waiting, you felt your body being pulled up and then like you had just jumped off a high diving board at a pool. falling, but strangely still feeling like you were upright. before long, your feet hit solid ground again, well somewhat solid ground. the sand made your landing shaky, as it moved under your weight. you looked up and saw a cozy house with warm light glowing from the windows.
after lots of introductions and even more hugs, you finally settled yourself in to a guest room. the view was beautiful. the sun was just starting to set over the sea, the orange hues reflecting off the vast water. putting away the last of your things, you walked down the stairs and announced to your mum and molly that you would be going on a walk. they nodded and made you promise to be back for dinner before returning to their conversation. as soon as you got to the beach, you slipped off your shoes and feel the cool sand swallow each of your toes. it was crisp, but not too cold. you walk for a bit and then sit down on a dune, just taking in the picture the world had created for you.
you see a figure walking toward you and, as it gets closer, you notice it's bill. "mind if i join you?" he asked.
"of course not," you watched him as he sat. "it's beautiful here, your family has a really lovely house."
"thanks, mum has a talent for making any place feel like home." he looked out at the water, but for some reason you kept looking at his face, trying to find details. bill felt your gaze and his eyes met yours. normally, you would've looked away, but a new confidence allowed me to hold his eye contact. "so, tell me more about your tattoo." you chuckled, you should've known it would come up at some point or another.
"i got it with rose on holiday using fake muggle IDs," you explained.
"any special meaning behind it?" he asked, his eyes were now flickering from yours to your neck.
"nope, just liked the art," it was true, you knew you wanted to get a tattoo but didn't want something that held too much weight, so you got something that was simply beautiful.
"that's cool," he said, reaching to touch it with his index finger, "did it hurt?" you shivered at the contact and he pulled away, "sorry."
"no, that's okay," you said turning slightly away from him so he could see it better and indicating that he could touch it. he went back to tracing it with his finger, leaning in to get a closer look. "it didn't hurt as much as i thought it would. but now that you've seen it, it's only fair that you tell me if you have any secret tattoos."
you heard him laugh, "obviously, i've just got the gryffindor lion across my chest, nothing crazy," he joked. you smiled and turned back to him.
"seems very fitting for you."
"oh yeah?"
"charismatic prefect, brave older brother, top of our DADA class? if you were any more gryffindor-y you'd be called godrick," you poked fun at him and leaned back to lay down.
"merlin, you make me sound unbearable."
"well–" you start to trail off only to feel a foot hit your knee, just hard enough to show playful anger. "alright, alright, kidding!"
"do you know what you want to do after school?" he asked, also lowering himself to the ground, but staying propped up on one elbow, his body turned to you.
"not exactly, i really like herbology and history of magic, so maybe find a job where i can study how wizards lived in the past? like how they used plants and stuff" it was something you had thought a lot about, but hadn't really found an answer that fit well.
"you'd be great at that." you shot him a skeptical look. "what? it's not hard to notice you're brilliant in herbology. sprout has you practically teaching half the lessons." you felt a blush spread across your cheeks, and felt thankful that the sunlight was starting to dim. you hadn't even realized you two shared that class, you were always more occupied in the nearest plant.
"what about you?"
"something to do with defense against the dark arts, mcgonagall told me about a career in curse breaking that sounds good. i think it'd allow me to travel, which is a plus."
"that sounds amazing," you say, your mind whisking you away to all the places you wanted to see.
"you can come and visit me, wherever i am." bill chuckled, letting another heart-breaker grin fall into place on his lips.
"and what makes you think we'll keep in touch after we leave hogwarts?" the tone turning back to a lighter banter. you push yourself up onto your elbows
"well, for one thing, our mums. but i also just have a feeling." you're betrayed by your cheeks heating up again. you look into his eyes and find sincerity. they're a deep blue, almost like they've been taken from the nearby water. once again you're reminded of his handsomeness, but this time it's a little different. maybe it's because you've talked more and he's shown you the things he's taken time to notice in you. but his beauty feels warmer. like it was only for you, like it could engulf you. you can see he's started to move closer, and you start to mirror his actions. your eyes move from his to his lips and the light stubble that runs along his jaw, and back again to his eyes. "can i...?" you close your eyes and start to nod, anticipating the feeling of his lips on yours, until, "kids! dinner!" and just like that, the moment is ruined. the two of you open your eyes and put space between yourselves. you clear your throat and stand up, brushing sand off of your legs.
"we should get back," you say.
"uh, yeah, totally." he says, also standing and following you back to the house.
on the walk back, you make sure to stay a few steps ahead of bill to allow yourself some time to think. what had just happened? did you like bill? surely it was just a weird moment following a minor existential crisis about the future right? you should just forget about it and try to focus on spending time with you family the rest of the trip.

A Sister’s Intuition:
Tumblr media
A/N: The gif has nothing to do with this one. It just made me chuckle cuz this most certainly has fighting.
Also, this is a weird mix of Arthur actually killing the church dude, but instead of Linda trying to shoot him right after like in the show, this story is like the event that causes her to go off the rails and try to shoot him (and fictionally, Y/N lol can you imagine). So this, in my fucked up mind, is the calm before the storm that is the lovely Linda with a gun.
Trigger Warnings: Fighting obviously, Mentions of Blood, Angst, Family Drama?, Cheating, Taunting, Swearing.
Word Count: 2,114
Characters: Shelby Family x Shelby!Sister Reader
Requested: Yes, well it was suggested but still. Long story short I have a bone to pick with my brothers gf and this was cathartic.
Request by: Anon, you can find it here.
Summary: Linda is being Linda and Y/N can’t stand her messing with her brother Arthur’s head another day. She just snaps. People and their feelings get hurt. Nothing like a nice bloody family dinner at the Shelby-Gray household.
Y/N’s skin crawled as she heard the voice of the woman downstairs. Her heart racing and fists clenching as she heard the half-hearted laughs and forceful exchange of pleasantries that were painstakingly muttered by the rest of the Shelby family.
As she smoothed out her dress, she heard Polly calling for her, surely to help with setting the table for dinner. With shaking hands she opened her door, her eldest brother Arthur’s laugh echoing through the lavish house as she made her way down the stairs.
“Y/N, nice of you to join us.” Thomas said, patting her on the shoulder as she sulked to the kitchen, avoiding Linda’s ever-judgmental gaze.
“I’ll set the table.” She said, Polly nodding at her with an annoyed expression as she glanced out into the dining room. The feeling fortunately seeming mutual.
“How’s the farm treating you brother? Having fun with the baby?” Ada asked, as Karl reached for one of the rolls in the basket Y/N was setting down.
“It’s good, quiet.” He said, his eyes looking tired and emotionless as the years went by.
“Don’t eat too much now, you won’t want dinner sweetheart.” Ada said, giving him a warning glance as Y/N silently set the table, glancing at Arthur’s troubled state. Thomas couldn’t help but notice his youngest sisters rage as she harshly set the silverware down, especially the knives.
It had been two years since the first conflict between her and Linda. The whole thing starting as Linda slowly brainwashed Arthur. No one really noticed at first, how she sunk her claws into him. How he’d stop his excessive use of cocaine, or his anger fueled drunken rampages on a dime. How he’d mess up on missions, putting them at risk. Or how he started asking Linda for permission to go places and her ordering him to be home at certain times when on business. No one noticed that while some of his habits were best left in the past, he was also leaving part of himself. The part of him that she knew and grew up with. The part that smiled and joked. The part that didn’t question himself and his worth on a daily basis. This was how she pulled him in, and he was forever tied to her now. Seeing as their 1 year old sat in his lap, giggly and oblivious to the pressures and expectations he’d be raised on years later whether Arthur wanted him to be or not.
The big blow up between them though, was when Y/N learned she cheated. If she inherited one good thing in life from the Shelby family it was her intuition. Her ability to sense when a person meant harm. Her ability to know when someone was nothing more than a snake. A soul-sucking, venomous snake.
The night she found out, she made sure Arthur was alright, or at least alive, knowing how he could spiral at any given moment. That was one thing about growing up around a dysfunctional family. Knowing when the others needed help, and knowing when to help set others straight. And he had seemed okay, at least until a few days later.
That same week Arthur killed the man she’d cheated on him with, going down a dark spiral as he grappled with his sins. His eyes brimming with tears and hands stained red as he walked into the house unannounced, nearly giving Polly a heart attack.
Y/N remembering how she sat him down and wiped the tears from his eyes and blood from his busted knuckles as he stared at her.
“These are the hands of a devil, Y/N...how can I be saved like this?” He asked through tears.
“Don’t ask how god can save you. Ask how you can save yourself.” She said, wrapping his hands in gauze.
“What?” He asked, confused. The tears streamed down his face as she urged him to drink a glass of water, given he was already in a drunken state.
“You have to save yourself, Arthur. I can’t do it for you. Linda cheated on you yeah? Well it’s not the first time she’s hurt you. No one else can really see it...not even you...but I can...She’s made you into someone you’re not. You may need to slow it on the drinking and drugs, and get your anger in check, but you don’t have to completely ruin yourself over some words in a book or some girl alright? I want my brother back...” She said giving him a strong hug. She wasn’t known for talking much, always preferring to stay in the background and being quiet, but she threw insults and plans around in her head just like Thomas. But when she did say something, people listened.
The day after Arthur attacked Linda’s lover, she decided to meet with her at her house. The rain pouring down as she made her way up the winding dirt roads, her thoughts running through her mind as she reluctantly stepped inside the farmhouse.
“Oh, Y/N. Wasn’t expecting you.” She said, a disgusted look on her face.
“We agreed last night to meet but I guess you didn’t remember. Must’ve been a bit preoccupied I see.” Y/N said, leaning to the side as she saw yet another man walking around the house that wasn’t Arthur. There was a long, awkward silence before she continued.
“I’m just here to warn you that you’ll get what’s coming to you. You don’t fuck with the Shelby family.” She said spitting at her feet.
“You know Y/N? You’re just like the rest of them. No morals...no class...nothing.” She said.
Y/N smirked as she inched closer to her, standing almost eye to eye. With a quick draw of her arm, she landed a harsh slap to her face. Her handprint stinging and bright red as it adorned Linda’s cheek.
“You’re one to talk about morals and class. People like you make me sick.” Y/N spat, walking off as Linda stood there holding her cheek. Her mystery lover nowhere to be seen as he’d retreated back to the bedroom in hiding, most surely thinking Arthur was there.
As she set the final glass down, she was brought out of her horrendous memories by the voice of her brother John.
“Aye Y/N, how’s your training been going with Finn and the guys? Think you could take him out yet?” He said, a mischievous smirk on his face. Linda scowled as she glanced over at Y/N, probably remembering how her face stung after the blow. The event seeming years away due to the hectic business of the blinders and the growing number of kids in the family.
“I highly doubt she could. Even if she grew up with you lot as brothers. Besides, it’s not ladylike. You can’t fight around the children.” Linda said, sipping her tea.
Y/N’s eyes pierced hers as she sat there. Her appetite fading as she got up from the table.
“Y/N...now’s not the time for this. Sit down.” Polly said, pointing at the empty chair between her and Thomas.
“I have no desire to sit with someone I can’t trust. You’ll get what’s coming to you Linda. I swear it on our mums grave.” She said getting up from the table again, this time making it to the kitchen before hearing quick footsteps.
“You said that last time and nothing happened. What are you going to do? All this family does is make empty promises. You’re just a worthless girl with nothing but her families bad manners and filthy blood money...” Linda continued, Y/N zoning out as she unclasped her earrings and threw them on the counter. Her eyes scanning Linda’s movements as she stepped closer, cracking her knuckles. John got up as soon as he heard her bad-mouthing his sister. Finn stood and made his way near her only for John to hold him back with a smirk, knowing this was long over-due.
She didn’t say anything as she swung a left hook, a loud crack sounding through the room as Linda stumbled back. John cheering slightly as she regained her composure.
“I told ya you’d get what’s coming to you.” She said, as Linda lunged forward and went to slap her in the face, but failing as Y/N blocked her hand and twisted causing a scream to erupt from her lying mouth. Blood was dripping from her nose as Arthur and Thomas came in. To her surprise, they didn’t jump in nor did Arthur try to stop her, knowing all too well his once precious Linda was bound to pay somehow. Polly and Ada shielded the children, holding their hands over their eyes as the mini brawl panned out.
“You’re going to hell!” Linda yelled, punching Y/N in the shoulder as she cried.
“I’ve been there already love, it’s quite nice.” She said moving back and raising her arms up to guard her face, looking for an open spot, eventually landing a final blow to Linda’s ribs that left her on the ground gasping for air.
Thomas suddenly grabbed Y/N’s arm and yanked her back. She wasn’t kicking and screaming, but he could see the rage in her eyes. The way his and Arthur’s often looked.
“Enough. Alright? She got the message. Enough.” He said.
“No. No I don’t think she did. Get off me.” She spat, trying to wrestle her way out of her brothers grasp.
Thomas let go so he wouldn’t hurt her, but watched on as she stalked towards Linda and Arthur.
“You can see how you’ve torn this family up right? I can’t speak for everyone, even for the man you’ve hurt, but I can speak for me and I’ll never accept you into this family again. Never. Now get out of my fucking house.” She said lowly, grabbing Linda’s arm harshly as Arthur tried to stop her.
“Y/N I’ll take her, you go cool down.” Arthur said, his hands shaking a bit as he was still torn between the hurt from Linda’s past actions and the love he had for her.
Y/N stood up with her arms crossed, her knuckles bloodied and aching as she stared her brother down.
“Arthur...do you remember what I told you that night? You have to save yourself. She’s going to keep you trapped in those same situations again if you don’t do something. She’ll hurt you if you don’t watch out.” She said, wiping a tear from her cheek as she shoved past her brothers and Polly, the children crying as an awkward silence fell over the house. She sulked back up to her room, cleaning her knuckles and bandaging them the best she could, knowing everyone probably hated her now.
“What was that aye?” Thomas asked.
“Fucking hell Tommy.” She said, jumping slightly at his voice from the doorway.
“I was just doing what no one else wanted to fucking do. Someone had to make her and our idiot brother see reason.” She said, wincing as she tried to wrap the gauze around her knuckles.
Thomas silently came over and helped her, trying to think of something to say as he snipped the last of the white fabric.
“You all hate me I already know. I just couldn’t sit there as she acted like everything was fine. Like she didn’t hurt him multiple times. She’s nothing but trouble and no one fucking understands that.” She said, tears welling up in her eyes.
“He can protect himself...I’m sure he’ll come around. And we don’t hate you. Besides, if I was betting on you that would’ve been the best fight of the year. I know for a fact you can take down Finn.” He said, trying to lighten her mood.
“I already did, he just doesn’t talk about it.” She said giggling and wiping the tears away as she gave him a hug. He sighed as he wrapped his arms protectively around her.
“She also had it coming. She said I had no morals...and no class....I just couldn’t let her talk that way about me...and about our family.” She said.
“Aye she did have it coming, I’ll agree on that. But you can’t listen to her. There will always be people who’ll say those things. They just don’t understand us.” He said.
“Well, they should work on that then aye? I guess next time I’ll try not to beat anyone up. I’m not promising anything though.” She said, Thomas chuckling as she broke from the hug and went into her room.
“I’ll see what’s going on down there. You just rest. But uh,,,do me a favor aye?” He asked.
“Yeah?”
“If someone does say something, don’t go at them alone. Tell me alright?” He asked.
“Okay...” she said with a sigh, hoping the night could be over with.
“Good, I’ll see you at the family meeting tomorrow then. Bright and early.” He said with a smirk.
“Oh fuck off Tommy...Goodnight.” She said, play-punching his shoulder.
“Goodnight.” He said, putting his cap on and making his way out the door to whatever family chaos awaited him.

Growing Pains - Susan & Kerry ER fanfiction (1/1)
Tumblr media
When Susan needs a little help, Kerry is the unlikely one who steps up. However, the two women struggle to get past their fractious relationship.
(read below the cut or on AO3)
Patients filled the hospital corridors from top to bottom. A group of intoxicated wedding goers from the previous night and the sweltering temperatures had blessed County with a dose of chaos. No one seemed to be moving anywhere apart from into each other, including Kerry who had returned from examining a patient to find it somehow worse than fifteen minutes previously.
“Sir, take a seat. Someone will see you when it’s your turn,” she said, strategically maneuvering her crutch between herself and a man in a fancy suit drunkenly stumbling around. The last thing she wanted was his bloody nose spilling all over her clothes.
Her white coat was an object of desire to the frustrated and uncomfortable patients as she attempted to move through the hoards of people. Her petite frame made it impossible to see the admit desk, her target destination, over what seemed like hundreds of heads. However, the sound of an infant crying from that direction managed to pierce through all the noise. Using the cries as a guide and her crutch to give some individuals a ‘gentle nudge’, Kerry finally managed to break through to the admit desk.
She was greeted by an upset-looking little Susie in the hands of a wired-looking Randi. The baby girl was all but being thrown around reception in the clerk’s arms as she answered phones and Susie evidently was no longer enjoying the ride.
“Where are all our doctors?” Kerry said with a brash tone. She immediately switched her demeanor as she leaned in closer to little Susie and stroked her damp cheek, which momentarily distracted Susie from her wailing. “There is no room to swing a cat out there.”
Randi stopped searching through the pile of charts in front of her and looked at Kerry. “That would be animal abuse,” she deadpanned.
“It’s a figure of speech.”
Randi tried to contain her smirk. “Mark is in CT with a patient and I don’t know where Doug is.”
“It’s unprofessional for an ER to be in such a state, never mind dangerous.” Kerry increased the volume of her voice as Susie began to cry again. “What about Susan? I’ve barely seen her all morning.”
“She had to take a phone call,” Randi said, preoccupied trying to soothe Susie by dangling around a small blanket in her face, the only thing she had been able to pull out of the diaper bag quickly. “Something about some lawyer I think.”
“No, I just saw her going to take a nap in exam four,” Connie interrupted as she walked over to the admit desk. “What are you doing to the poor girl?” Her brows raised as she watched Randi’s method of comforting the baby.
“You’re kidding! I can’t look after her all day!” Randi threw the blanket onto the desk in frustration. “She said she would be back in ten minutes.”
Kerry sighed. As much as it displeased her to see a doctor's personal life interfering with their work (and the running of the department), she couldn't help but have some sympathy for Susan. It hadn’t exactly been her choice to wind up looking after her sister's child. The majority of Kerry’s frustration with Susan came from the fact that Kerry hated seeing a doctor with such talent and potential distracted by things out of her control.
But it wasn’t just a distraction. It was a baby. Little Susie was her family.
Family. Something Kerry did have much left of anymore.
Deciding not to go and wake Susan up, Kerry glanced up at the clock. It was nearing twelve and the morning hadn’t made much of a dent in the crowd that was in chairs. However, she was due a break and none of the cases appeared particularly emergent. Mark and Doug could take care of it when they decided to return to the trenches she thought.
“I’ll take her for a bit,” Kerry offered, reaching out her arm towards Susie.
Randi and Connie simultaneously looked up at Kerry, disbelief written on their faces.
Kerry rolled her eyes back. “What? I don’t bite, no matter what rumors you have heard.”
The phone began to ring and Randi gratefully passed Susie to Kerry, ignoring the fact that Susan probably wasn’t going to like this. “Just take her, please. I'm pretty sure she needs to be changed.”
Kerry expertly maneuvered the infant up against her chest with one arm, so the girl's rosy cheeks gently rested on her shoulder. “I think Randi is right, isn't she little Susie?” Kerry felt the heavy diaper as she rested Susie on her arm.
“You look like you have done that before.” Connie pried not so subtly, watching as the young girl almost immediately calmed against Kerry’s touch, Susie’s wet eyes wide as she gauged this new person holding her.
The personal life of Kerry Weaver was, of course, under the scrutiny of the gossip mill. And while none exactly saw her as the maternal type, Connie wanted to see her reaction.
But she got none.
“Is this her diaper bag?” Kerry indicated to the bag on the desk.
“Yep, all her stuff is in there.”
Kerry scooped up the various baby paraphernalia into the bag and hung it over the handle of her crutch for the short journey. “Connie, I’ll be in one of the exam rooms if anyone needs me,” she called back as she walked away.
Avoiding the crowds, Kerry carried Susie into a nearby exam room. She switched on the overhead lights but Susie brought her little fists up to her face in discomfort. Apologizing to her, Kerry quickly turned them off again and instead turned on a less intense lamp that provided enough light for her to do the job.
“It’s okay, here we are. Nice and quiet here,” she rocked the girl on her hip. “Away from all those yucky sick people.”
Kerry walked over to the bed, collecting a sterile sheet before placing Susie down on her back. Susie was sporting a cute one-piece ensemble, with a matching sun hat and socks. The diaper was very full and wet and Kerry checked for any leakages before sliding the girl’s clothes off. Satisfied that there were none, Kerry opened the bag that was sitting beside Susie with her free hand and collected the required items to change her.
“I can see why Susan is so attached to you,” Kerry patted Susie's little stomach as the baby happily squirmed on her back, enjoying her new clean diaper. “You’re a gorgeous girl aren’t you? You must have your aunt’s genes hey,” she said and Susie babbled back in agreement, a cheeky smile falling on her face. Kerry leaned down closer and shook her head excitedly. “Yes, you are.”
It took a while for Susan to regain full control of her limbs as she clawed herself out of the sleep-deprived coma that she had entered in exam four. Her call with her now ex-lawyer had left her wishing she could just disappear from existence for a bit.
__
Not quite ready to lift herself up, Susan stretched out with a yawn as she studied the ceiling. Little Susie had been up every couple of hours the last few nights, the young girl perhaps feeling the unrest that was in her aunt's life at the moment. Between that, work, and the amount of stress she was under, Susan couldn't remember the last time she had a moment to herself.
Though this moment to her herself had not left her feeling particularly rested or rejuvenated. Instead, she awoke from her ‘short nap’ uncomfortable. Everything was hot and cloudy and she felt like she had awfully overslept.
Which was odd, considering Susan could swear she had only been in here for 10 minutes. 20 Max.
Reaching over to the side table she picked up her watch and squinted.
“Crap,” she muttered. It had been at least an hour.
The realization that she had left Susie with Randi along with a certain chief resident's voice in the back of her head berating her for missing work, sprung Susan into action and she quickly collected her stethoscope and pager before running out of the exam room.
“Randi, I’m so sorry!” she called out, fixing her hair and clipping on her pager to her lab coat as she made her way towards the admin desk. “I just thought I’d close my eyes for a few minutes and then -” her apology ended abruptly as she looked up and noticed something was wrong. “Where’s Susie?” her voice went cold.
Randi frowned in confusion as she tried to decipher Susan’s questions while simultaneously trying to control the rowdy crowd that had somehow spilled into the admit area. “Oh the baby, Dr. Weaver took her,” she replied.
“Took her?” Susan tried to quell any panic and come to a logical conclusion. “Like to the daycare?”
She struggled to fathom any reason as to why Kerry had taken Susie. But perhaps Kerry had grown tired of Susie’s cries and shipped her upstairs to prevent any further distraction in the department.
But why had no one come to wake her first?
“I’m not sure...” Preoccupied, Randi brushed her off and resumed yelling at the man that was opposite the desk. “Sir, you need to sit down. Otherwise, I’ll turf you out of here myself!”
“Lady, you can’t talk to me like that!”
“I’ll talk how I like,” Randi spat out and smiled as she watched the man retreat back. “I think she is still down here though. She said something about an exam room,” Randi focused her attention back on Susan and answered calmly.
But Susan was gone before Randi had even finished her sentence.
“Move please!” Susan pushed herself through the crowded ER corridors, not bothering with any pleasantries.
It had been over an hour since she had left Susie to go and make her phone call. Over an hour that little Susie had been left alone with a stranger. Left alone with Kerry Weaver of all people. Randi would have been better passing her off to the LOL in curtain three, Susan thought.
With every empty exam room she found, Susan’s heart rate climbed. And with every extra beat, Susan’s mind became less sound.
What if they had left the hospital? Susie could be anywhere.
“Mark! Thank god,” Susan burst into the suture room.
“I’m a little busy right now,” he replied, getting ready to begin a suture on a passed-out patient, presumably another victim of last night's wedding party.
“No, it’s Weaver you have to -” she continued breathlessly.
Mark let out an exasperated sigh and swung around on his stool. “Susan, I thought we had been through this. You two need to learn how -”
“Weaver has abducted little Susie!”
Bewildered, Mark and Malik stared at Susan.
“Umm...Malik, wash this wound out again, will you? I’ll be back shortly,” he took off his gloves and stood up, leaving a curious-looking Malik behind him.
“What on earth are you talking about?” he ushered Susan into the corridor.
Susan raised her hands to her forehead. “I went to take a break...Susie...she was with Randi and then she wasn’t...I -” she rambled, running her shaking fingers through her hair.
“Slow down. What does Kerry have to do with any of this?”
“Randi said that Kerry took her and I can’t find them anywhere.”
Mark frowned. “I’m sure there is an explanation,” he comforted, as the pair walked to somewhere more private where they could talk.
“Mark, I don’t care if there is an explanation,” she said, as they entered the doctor’s lounge. “I don’t want her near little Susie!”
Susan’s words ricocheted through the doctor’s lounge, clearly making themselves heard to the occupants. Kerry and Connie were both seated on the couch along with Susie who was happily perched upon Kerry’s lap. The young girl smiled as she stole both of the women’s complete attention. That was until Mark and Susan had arrived. An awkward air swept through the room as they all stared at each other.
“Good Susan, you’re here.” Kerry was the first to break the silence and she stood up, ready to pass the baby over to Susan. “I think she is getting a little hungry, but I wasn’t sure what formula she takes.”
Kerry quickly gave the baby to Susan, which was slightly hindered by the fact that Susie had a firm fist wrapped around one of Kerry’s fingers. Kerry managed to pry her tiny fingers from her own and Susie was then in her aunt's arms, which immediately allowed Susan to breathe again.
“There is already some made up in the fridge,” Susan said offhandedly, the events of the last fifteen or so minutes washing over her as she stroked her niece's cheek. Susie was fine. “The formula.”
Kerry shuffled on her feet for a few seconds before committing and turning around to go and collect the bottle. Susan sighed as she took a seat at the table. She hadn’t meant for Kerry to go and get the formula. Truly she wished they all would leave. Kerry especially. Only so she didn’t have to look at her in the face after what she had just said.
Mark laid a hand on her shoulder. “If everything is alright here, I have to get back,”
“I should be getting back to work as well,” Connie lifted herself up from the couch. “Bye-bye, little Susie,”
Further tension spilled into the lounge as the two buffers departed. Susan glanced over to Kerry who had located the bottle and was warming it up. Kerry’s movements were deliberate and slow as if she was trying to extend the time she could have her back to the other woman in the room.
Susan swallowed. “Kerry I-”
“Randi was getting swept under, so I offered to take her for a bit.” the redhead interjected. Her voice was shrill, though not in its usual acerbic manner. More as if the voice was hitched in the chest and its owner was desperately trying to mask it.
Susan nodded, watching as Kerry collected the bottle from the microwave and tested the temperature of the milk on the inside of her wrist.
“I should have said something. Left a note.” Kerry continued as she turned back around. “Here,” she smiled, placing the bottle on the table.
Susie’s eyes immediately lit up and she reached out for her meal. She couldn’t quite hold her own bottle up yet, but that wasn’t going to deter her from trying.
“Thanks,” Susan replied and picked up the bottle. Susie grumbled as her milk was delayed when Susan splashed some of the milk onto her own wrist.
“Oh, I already did that,” Kerry pointed out, the intonation falling at the end of her sentence as she realized Susan wanted to check for herself. “Nevermind.”
Kerry uncuffed her crutch from her arm and gently rested it against the table before sitting down. Both women smiled as Susie latched on to her bottle and drank feverishly. Susie was something for them to focus on rather than themselves. And it was working. The mood lifted.
“She is a good little drinker,” Kerry commented.
“Kerry...I’m sorry,” Susan said.
Kerry stretched her neck from side to side as Susan waited for a response. Apologizing to Kerry Weaver was not something Susan had ever planned to do. Yet, here she was. Apologizing. Giving Kerry the upper hand.
However, the chief resident was as good at accepting apologies as she was offering them and she ignored the crumb of a peace offering that had been placed in front of her.
Susan pressed her lips together and looked down at little Susie, who was contently enjoying her milk, to quench the anger she could feel rising inside.
Kerry couldn’t even acknowledge it. Which made apologizing in the first place feel even worse.
Despite her apparent inability to make things easier for herself and Susan, Kerry didn’t show any signs of leaving and leaned forward. “I think you are doing a very admirable thing. Looking after your niece,” she said softly, but Susan couldn’t help but hear it in a condescending tone.
“It probably won’t be for much longer,” she replied bitterly.
Susie chose this moment to start making some ominous gurgling sounds and Susan reached towards the bag to find a blanket. The last thing she needed today was another shirt decorated with baby spit-up. Her laundry pile was growing and little Susie was ‘customizing’ them faster than she could wash them.
Kerry quickly went to help her, unzipping the bag further and making it easier for Susan to pull the blanket out with her free hand. “Randi said you were speaking to a lawyer?”
“Chloe wants to play mom again and apparently me being the only constant fixture in this girl's life for the last few months means nothing,” Susan lifted the girl up onto her blanket-covered shoulder and gently burped the baby. “I have a meeting with another one tonight. But I can’t bring Susie along.”
“Can’t your parents help?”
“They don’t want to get involved,” Susan replied, eyes downcast. “And maybe, I shouldn’t either. Just let Chloe get what she wants. She is her real mother after all.”
“That doesn’t necessarily mean anything. Biology doesn’t dictate love, Susan. Not like that.”
Susan shook her head. “I’m no better than Chloe. My first response was to get rid of her. Adopt her out. You don’t do that if you love someone. You don’t do that to your child.” her words were less of a statement and more of a sad pleading question. She knew the answers. That nothing was as black and white as that. That people give away children they love all the time. She knew she was holding herself to a higher standard than she would anyone else.
But she just wanted someone to tell her what to do. Tell her what was the right thing.
And deep down. Tell her she could be a mother.
A good mother.
She wanted it so badly that she’d even take it from Kerry Weaver.
Or maybe Kerry Weaver’s opinion meant more to her than she was willing to accept.
Kerry remained silent for a few moments, fiddling with a ring on her finger. Susan furrowed her brows, she could see the light reflecting in Kerry’s damp eyes. Her words had evidently had some sort of emotional effect on Kerry.
Since when was Kerry Weaver so invested in my personal life?
Kerry cleared her throat. “Susan, I’m sure, whatever happens, it will work out,” she sat up straighter, regaining an air of authority. “But still, I think you should go tonight.”
“How?”
Kerry looked down nervously. “I...I can be with her,” she offered quietly.
“Kerry-“
“I’m serious. I’ll watch over her for an hour or so, while you go and meet this new lawyer,” she said. “It will be fine, me and Susie have already gotten to know each other haven’t we?” Kerry lent forward and rubbed Susie's back.
“Kerry,” Susan sighed, leaning back further against the chair and away from Kerry. “It’s nothing personal, but I don’t like the idea of leaving her with someone we don’t know.”
“It’s okay Susan, I understand.” she nodded with a pained smile and Susan could see how her face had fallen ever so slightly. “It was just a suggestion.” Kerry stood up and collected her crutch. No further words were exchanged between the pair as Kerry walked to the door.
“Wait Kerry,” Susan called out with a regretful grimace. She couldn’t believe she was doing this. She picked up a stray piece of paper from the table and started writing. “Umm...this is my apartment address, come by at 6:30 and I’ll go through what she needs?”
__
Susan gently inserted her key into the lock and turned the mechanism, careful to make as little noise as possible. With Susie being so difficult to settle these past few weeks, she doubted that Kerry would have had much success putting her down for the night. But on the off chance that she had, Susan didn’t want to wake her as she arrived home.
She was eager to get inside and see Susie, still not entirely comfortable with the idea of Kerry in her apartment and taking care of her. Logically she knew she didn’t have many reasons to be overly concerned. Kerry was a responsible adult and a doctor. And much to her shock, quite good at dealing with young children. However, the difficult relationship between them didn’t do a lot to settle her nerves.
She wasn’t exactly sure what she expected when she walked into her apartment, but to her surprise, everything felt overwhelmingly normal. The sheer presence of Kerry Weaver hadn’t turned the place into a cold and disturbed environment.
Not that Susan thought that of course.
It still felt like home.
She found herself smiling as she closed the door behind her and unwrapped the scarf around her neck. There wasn’t much to smile about, she thought; her life was still in shambles and she was going to have to deal with what was likely going to be another awkward Weaver interaction before she could even think about her head hitting the pillow. However, the day hadn’t been a total disaster.
There was a light on in the kitchen but the lounge area was dimly lit. A single lamp illuminated Kerry who was seated on the couch and absorbed in the book she was reading. Susan bounced up onto her tiptoes as she hung her scarf up. Raising her chin up she could just make out a peaceful Susie sleeping in her bassinet over the other side of the room and she let out a breath of air.
“Susan,” Kerry stirred and placed her book onto the coffee table. “How was it?”
“It was good,” She replied.
In fact, the meeting with this lawyer had gone far better than expected. Though Susan wasn’t keen to elaborate further right now. She had opened up herself enough to Kerry for one day. Arguably enough for a lifetime.
But this lawyer was ready to fight. The only question left was, if she was.
“I’m glad,” Kerry smiled.
Susan wandered over to the bassinet, the innate need to see her niece overpowering the fact that the girl was already settled and asleep. She placed a gentle hand on Susie’s front and stroked her cheek lightly with a finger. Susan had grown to hate missing bedtimes with Susie. The girl moved on her back ever so slightly, a little hand coming up to Susan’s that was now resting on her cheek. Susan stilled as her breath hitched in her throat.
Of course, she was going to come home and wake the baby in front of Kerry.
But Susie’s face remained content as she continued to sleep and her arm fell back down.
“She had been like that for the past hour or so,”
Susan jumped as she heard Kerry’s voice over her shoulder, not having noticed the redhead come up behind her. The women had a way of creeping up on you. Figuratively and literally.
“Took me long enough,” Kerry continued with a smile. “But she hasn’t woken since, so fingers crossed, she might sleep through for you.”
“I can’t tell you how much of a relief that is,” Susan let herself relax. “Thank you, Kerry.”
Kerry nodded stiffly before turning back and using the various pieces of furniture to balance as she returned to her crutch that had been resting against the back of the couch. Susan instinctively looked away, not having realized until that point that she wasn’t using her crutch. She never really thought about it, Kerry’s leg, but seeing her grimace as she walked across the apartment made her internally cringe as she remembered the incident in the lounge.
How she had managed to create such a complex relationship with Kerry she didn’t know.
Never in her life had Susan had so many painful interactions with the same person. And the worst of it all was that she didn’t actually dislike Kerry. Sure, the woman could drive her up the wall on a daily basis but she didn’t hate her. There had been far worse bosses in her life. And yet, the two could never seem to have a normal conversation. Sometimes they’d laugh together, Kerry would feel like one of them, one of the team. And then it was like she was an alien from another planet, sent here to obsessively pick over their every move.
And Susan let Kerry get to her, more than anyone else.
“I guess I better be going then,” Kerry fluffed up the cushions where she had been sitting and picked up her bag. “Umm...there is also some takeout for you in the fridge.”
Susan looked over surprised and walked into the kitchen. Though before she made it into the fridge, she noticed that the kitchen had obviously been cleaned and she immediately felt embarrassed. She had made sure that the apartment was in somewhat of a presentable state before Kerry arrived. However, it was now clear that Kerry hadn’t thought so.
But still, Susan tried to focus on how it was nice of her.
“It’s Chinese. I’ve seen you eat it at work. Not that I watch you eat or anything. I just knew that it was something you liked. Anyway...” she stammered.
“Kerry, you shouldn’t have.”
“Oh, it was nothing really.”
Susan was about to thank her again when something caught her eye in her bedroom. There were three freshly washed and folded piles of clothing sitting at the end of her bed.
“You...you washed my clothes?”
There it was, Susan thought. Kerry Weaver could not help herself. Had to go and interfere in her life once again. And now she was micromanaging her in her own home. The thought of Kerry seeing her baby vomit-covered shirts and god knows what else sent Susan into overdrive. This was too much of a personal infringement for her.
Not picking up on the sudden change in Susan’s mood, Kerry continued as she put on her coat. “Susie was a bit grizzly and I thought a trip to the laundry room may help. She surprisingly likes it down there.”
“I didn’t say you could do my laundry!”
Kerry stilled, her face palling at the sudden acidity in Susan’s voice. “I just thought you might appreciate the extra help.”
“I don't want your help, Kerry! Not at work and definitely not in my own home.” she spat out. “I’m not useless you know?”
Susan lent heavily against the kitchen counter with her arms forward and closed her eyes. She needed Kerry to leave now.
Kerry, however, walked over to her with a look of concern in her eyes.
“Susan, I don’t think you are useless.” She reached out to place a hand on Susan’s forearm. But, Susan dramatically flinched away from her and Kerry stumbled back.
The redhead visibly tensed and straightened into her usual demanding posture. “I overstepped. It won’t happen again.”
“Kerry-” Susan began as Kerry began to walk to the door but she was distracted by the sudden cries from Susie who had awoken with the commotion. Quickly she rushed over to her, picking her up and rocking her against her chest. “Shhh, I’m sorry, it’s okay Susie.”
But Susie continued to cry.
“I’ll see you at work tomorrow. Don’t be late,” Kerry said as she was leaving. “It..it has been happening far too frequently of late. It doesn’t look good for your application for Chief Resident.”
Susan’s apartment did feel cold that night.

Hello. Your writing is very capturing. I spent last night on reading all your stuff and here I am, in your ask box. Especially the illiterate!Geralt is a good read. I saw a few hc about the witchers being unsettled by Jaskier being well... Jaskier and with no fear approach them and talk to them. After a while they started wondering if Jaskier is a human, but they can't smell magic on him. What he really is? How he managed to fool a witcher?
Welcome to my ask box Nonnie, it is a delight to have you here! Even better, you bring a prompt that has my little heart singing because writing about Jaskier and all the witchers is something I am rapidly falling in love with. So thank you, you have truly made my day.
While the continent was big, it was still rather limited in terms of numbers of contracts. So it was only natural that from time to time Geralt bumped into a fellow witcher. Sometimes he got there first, other times there was only a drink at a tavern to be had and maybe some quiet company if it was a fellow wolf he encountered. The perk of having Jaskier alongside him was that even if he missed out on a contract, Jaskier could earn their keep and food if coin was short. So there was no longer a vicious competition between him and other witchers which was such a nice change of pace. There was no worry that if he got to a contract late, he would have to spend the next however many nights in the woods and hunting for food because he couldn’t afford a meal at a tavern.
Sometimes Geralt would still be in the stable with Roach while Jaskier went ahead to get them a room and some food. Which was how Geralt walked into the inn and frowned when Jaskier wasn’t visible at the bar. Looking around, he wasn’t too difficult to spot, sitting opposite...Eskel?! Pleasant surprise flooded Geralt at the sight of a fellow wolf and he walked over. Already, Jaskier seemed to have made a new friend in the form of the other witcher and was chattering away, demanding details from a fight. He even looked horrified when he spotted the bloody bandage peeking out from under Eskel’s sleeve.
“Oh you poor thing,” Jaskier was reaching for Eskel’s arm without any hesitation and Geralt saw the surprise from the other witcher. Hell, he could even smell the suspicion and confusion coming off him.
“Maybe this would be better done in a room than where people might be trying to enjoy some food,” Geralt suggested. “Not everyone can eat after seeing a bloody arm.”
“Yes! Have a bath called up for us, would you?” Jaskier looked at Geralt with a smile before turning back to Eskel and guiding him up atairs. “And don’t forget to have dinner brought up too!”
By the time Geralt got to the room, Jaskier had gently bullied Eskel into showing the wyvern bite to him and was fussing over it. Above Jaskier’s head, Eskel sought out Geralt’s gaze with confusion.
Later that night, Geralt had a rather interesting conversation with Eskel, mostly consisting of “he doesn’t even smell of fear” to which the only reply was “he never did”.
They parted ways and Jaskier made sure Eskel had plenty of supplies and coin, sharing what he could of his own despite protestations.
Funnily enough, Lambert was next. Once again, Geralt had been preoccupied, this time he was sharpening his swords when the music died down sooner than expected. However, there was no sound of fighting or arguing so obviously Jaskier hadn’t gotten himself into trouble. Yet. When he didn’t go upstairs to their room, Geralt decided to venture down to make sure nothing untoward was happening. Like that time Jaskier had convinced the whole tavern to play some kind of strip card game that Geralt still didn’t understand and, quite frankly, didn’t really want to either.
The sight that greeted Geralt was both better and worse than anything he could have anticipated. Jaskier was in the corner, sitting at a table and opposite him was Lambert. Who was pressed up against the wall like a cornered cat and staring at Jaskier in horror and disgust while the bard talked his ear off. He seemed to be utterly oblivious to the fact Lambert looked ready to bolt.
“Lambert,” Geralt greeted and there was a visible drop in anxieties.
“Geralt. This is-”
“Jaskier, I know. He’s with me.” Turning to Jaskier, Geralt pulled his coin pouch out. “Charm the barkeep into three strong ales, would you?”
As soon as Jaskier was away from the table, Lambert was leaning closer.
“What the hell is wrong with him? He just walked up to the table, sat down and started talking! He does realise we’re witchers, right?” He gestured towards Jaskier’s back. Geralt’s sigh of “yes” didn’t seem to help. Lambert ranted on. “I can do monsters, creatures and spirits. But whatever that is, it’s not human and it scares the shit out of me. Not even an whiff of fear or hesitation.”
“It’s just Jaskier. He’s friendly.” Geralt shrugged. He’d been there, the confusion and distrust at the absolute lack of any negative reaction from Jaskier. But he’d grown used to it.
“You keep the contract, I’m skipping out.” Lambert made to move and got almost to the door when Jaskier got back to the table and called his name. Like a dog caught stealing a sausage, Lambert slunk back sheepishly. At least he got ale out of it even if he had to sit through the most terrifying conversation of his life. Jaskier could talk, he’d give him that.
By morning, Lambert was gone and Jaskier pouted at the fact he couldn’t bid farewell to his newest friend properly.
Last but not least was Vesemir who they encountered on a dusty road between nameless towns.
“I’ve heard of you,” he told Jaskier who had been prancing around as he played his newest song. It had been stuck in his head for days, taking shape and now he couldn’t get enough of it.
“Alas I have not been granted similar privileges. Please forgive me, darling grey wolf. I am ignorant not through lack of interest but rather lack of sources.” Jaskier cast Geralt a side glance.
He was treated to a long, hard look by Vesemir who also took a subtle sniff of the air as he took a step closer to Jaskier. “They were right.”
Who the mysterious “they” were and what they were right about was a mystery to Jaskier but he wasn’t going to get answers because Vesemir nodded at them. “See you for the winter.”
As he turned to continue his path, Jaskier shouted after him. “Just a small token for our brief yet passionate meeting!” With that, he presented Vesemir a handkerchief in a flourish. Once again, the old witcher’s eyes drifted to Geralt before taking the offering, tucking it into his armour and turning with a nod.
“So, where are we going for winter?” Jaskier asked, hopping a lttle to catch back up with Geralt.
Kaer Morhen. That was the answer and Jaskier excitedly bustled through the doors. He and Geralt got set up in a room before making their way down to the others.
“Friends!” Jaskier yelled, arms in the air as he took in the three familiar witchers. “It is so good to see you again.”
He went around to hug all the witchers to varying degrees of success. While Eskel returned the hug with a small, entertained smile, Lambert was doing his best impression of a terrified statue. For his part, Vesemir accepted the hug but wasn’t too enthused by it.
Witchers didn’t need to sleep a lot so it wasn’t all that unusual for them to gather around a fire and talk late into the night. At first, Jaskier had tried to keep up but he needed sleep and often ended up fast asleep in Geralt’s lap while the others talked.
“I’ve never met anyone like him.” Eskel nodded towards Jaskier’s sleeping form.
“Not natural,” Lambert added. He had been doing his best to keep out the way as much as possible.
Even Vesemir weighed in, “He’s certainly a rarity. There’s no magic around him. No stench of enchantment or even the scent of a beast.”
“He’s plain old human,” Geralt said. “And just seems to have no concept of self-preservation around others. But trust me, he does feel fear.”
Which was how they ended up trying to find out what did elicit a response from Jaskier. Lambert’s idea of drinking a potion and wandering around with black eyes and veins backfired somewhat when Jaskier got ready to trek out with him to the fight he was no doubt preparing for.
Inviting Jaskier to train and spar hadn’t worked out either. No matter how much Eskel threw him around, disarmed him in more and more brutal ways and held swords to his throat, not once did Jaskier ever smell anything but tired.
Nobody was prepared for the ear splitting shriek one morning. It was definitely Jaskier but he hit a pitch even Geralt was stunned by. They all went rushing to the bathroom  to see what had happened. Bursting in, Jaskier was standing in the tub, suds sliding off his head and clutching a cloth to himself while Vesemir looked just as stunned, holding a basket of laundry.
“What happened?” Eskel asked.
“I was merely here to hang up some clean clothes,” Vesemir replied.
“There I was,” Jaskier’s voice was still breathy with fright, “taking a nice bath and washing. Only to turn around and he was there. I’m putting a bell on you!”
The air was sour with his calming fear and, oddly, it seemed to settle the witchers. No longer was Jaskier some ethereal being without a single thing in the world that could scare him. From then on, both Lambert and Eskel seemed to take great delight in sneaking up on Jaskier and trying to scare him. There was something so soothing about knowing Jaskier could still be frightened to the point of outraged screeching. Especially when he cottoned on to the game and, once he was over the initial panic, he chased after the culprit until he could jump on their backs, smacking them playfully over the head until Geralt prised him off.
Even Lambert seemed a little more comfortable now that he knew Jaskier wasn’t infallible. By the end of winter, he was unofficially crowned winner of scaring Jaskier the most. Not that it was ever a race between him and Eskel. They absolutely didn’t have a tally hidden in the library with bonus points awarded for exceptionally memorable screams.

Finding Him
Tumblr media
AU!Dean x Reader
Warnings: Kidnapping/taken, angst, mentions/implications of rape, mentions of blood, gruesome I think, maybe. (If I need more warnings, I’ll add them. Not sure what I need for warnings right now) I would recommend to being at least 18 to be safe.
Summary: Dean doesn’t come home from a supply run. Sam and the Reader find the Impala, but no Dean. Who would take Dean? Why? Clock’s ticking.
Word count: 2,400-ish
a/n: Inspired by a fic called Lost by @talesmaniac89, only I switched the roles and the whole premise of the story in comparison.

His vision blackened by the dark hood that covered his head.
“See boss, I found him, one of the Winchester boys.” A male voice says. As if he were expecting a prize.
“Yes, I see that, you were also to get his little brother you nitwit!” another man shouted.
Dean could hear growls in the distance. Meaning he was dealing with more than just one monster. Also, what kind of monster?
“But doing this draws out his brother. Once he is out and about, I’ll get him.”
“You better, but watch out for his mate. I hear she’s feisty.”
Y/N, they knew her as well. But she was only with the brothers for, not even, 6 months now.
“Why again are we doing this? Why don’t we just swarm their base now? I mean, we can use his scent to lead us there.” A female voice was heard this time. She sounded rather annoyed by the whole situation.
“Because, it’s her I want.”
“Why?”
“She’s a half-breed. First of our kind. Her mother was human. They say half-breeds are weaker than their pure bred counterpart. But I beg to fucking differ!” the boss man got furious at a memory.
Y/N’s a what? Dean thought. He could only huff against the gag in his mouth that was tapped in by duct tape. His hands were bound by all kinds of bindings. Rope, tape and even chains. These werewolves took precautions to prevent Dean from escaping or fighting back.
Y/N must have done something to piss this guy off. He thought.
“Just bring the other Winchester, Lure this bitch out. I want her now!”
“Sam, I found the impala but no Dean.” She said into the phone.
“Store clerk said no one was following him in the store. So it must have happened outside of the store on the way home.”
“I don’t like this Sam, who would take him and why?”
“I don’t know. Come swing by, pick me up and I’ll drive Dean’s baby home.”
“Sure thing, then we’ll get hunting for your brother.”
She hung up the phone. She could smell it. It’s faint but it’s werewolf. Maybe it’s time to come clean about her lineage to Sam. It might help in finding Dean.
“So you’re a half breed. Half human, half werewolf? How’s that possible?” Sam asked. Not a hint of malice in his words, no hint of anger or hostility in his body language.
“My mom was human. My dad was an alpha werewolf. But my mom died giving birth to me. I never really had a mother. But there’s this other pack, my dad went rogue on them when they started killing humans. He’d kill his own members to save humans.” She explained.
“Your dad sounds like a good man.”
“He was. Then his alpha found us. Tried to take me. He fought back. Or, tried to. I managed to get away. But in the woods I could smell my dad’s blood. He kill him. I’m more than sure, he’s the one that took Dean. He’s trying to lure me out.”
“He really shouldn’t underestimate the Winchester way of doing things.”
“What do you have in mind, I do see those wheels in your head turning?” she asked.
“We’ll need Cas’s help. I’ll even see if Bobby or any of the apocalypse hunters are up for some fuckery.”
She smiled, what does this guy have in mind, must be awesome.
 Weeks pass.
Sure he’d feed Dean, give him water even. But the alpha has a plan. And it’s not a great one.
He’s building an army.
“It’s my daughter, Alpha. She’s presenting, and I feel she is suitable for bearing a half breed.” Said a woman behind the door.
“Once she is fully presented, we’ll put him to work. And soon she will bear a half breed. Because if that bitch won’t come to me, we’ll come to her, with an army to boot.”
Dean swallowed thickly.
Already several scared girls had come in, he was forced to impregnate these girls. In hopes of making werewolves just like y/n.
He’s not dumb, half breeds are not as weak as people or other monster claim them to be. Because of their human counterparts, they don’t give up.
“How many have we made so far boss?” the same wolf that kidnapped Dean asked.
“9. Nine half breeds. And 5 of us. Two omegas, one beta, and two alphas. The half breeds don’t even need to present. That’s the thing we need to research further.”
“I’m sure our doctors in the sandy hills would love to look at them, and this girl of yours.”
“I’m sure. But, she’s mine. Mine to tame, mine alone. I’ll make an omega out of her.”
“You want to see what offspring you and her would produce?” he asked. Seeing his masterplan now.
“We need an army. Those British hunters already got the drop on us and have killed most of ours. But now, with us being mostly half breeds. We’ll see how much of a match we are to them.”
“Impervious to silver. But they’ll die like any normal human.”
“Maybe so. But we’ll train them in combat. We will win this.”
His comrade nodded.
A low growl could be heard from y/n as she paced the library.
“Weeks Sam, it has been weeks. We need to find him.”
“I know, Bobby’s trying to round up everyone.”
“I can feel them doing something to him, it’s not good. We need to hurry.”
“Like what?”
“I can’t describe it without making you feel uncomfortable. But it’s not good. Let’s just put it at that.”
Sam’s phone rang. Caller ID, Bobby.
“Hey, Bobby, whatchyou got?”
“Sam, bring your girl and come to our hide out. It’s getting bad out there.”
“Bad, bad how?”
“We’re out numbered. The amount of werewolves is growing. More than what we can keep up with.”
“Okay, we’ll pack what we can and meet you out there.”
Sam hung up.
“What’s wrong?”
“Their numbers are growing.”
“I told you it was bad.”
“What are you saying?”
“He’s making an army of half breeds. Like me. And he’s using Dean to help in that process.”
“You mean, he’s forcing these wolf girls to rape my brother?” Sam asks, growing sickened and angry.
“Yes. Which is why we need to hurry. Let’s just go where we need to go. I’ll tell you what we can do to win.”
“Great, not only are you like a human, but impervious to silver. So our bullets and knives won’t kill you.” One of the male apocalypse hunters fumed.
“So how do we kill them?” Meg asks.
“Just like how you’d kill any human. An ordinary weapon. But don’t injure them. Or Don’t waste time on the kill. They…we can heal quickly.”
“You have to have some kind of weakness.” Bobby says.
“Well, we’re not totally impervious to silver. I learned that the hard way from you hunters.” She says. “Just before I met Sam and Dean, I ran into a hunter. He learned of what I was. And tried to kill me. His silver blade slashed my arm. I had this nasty looking infection. But really it was poison.”
“Dean brought you back, and we healed you up.” Sam added. She nodded with a sad smile.
“That’s why you didn’t tell us. You were afraid we’d do that to you.” Sam says. She cast her gaze to her feet, fiddling her hands at her waistline. She felt Sam’s hand at her cheek. Coaxing her to look up at him.
“You had our backs, you saved Dean from shifters and wendigos. You saved me from vamps and werewolves. Cas from angels. Hell, even our own mother from a number of monsters. We wouldn’t have hurt you darlin’.”
“When he saved me, Dean. I imprinted on him.”
“How’d you…”
“I’m not sure. He felt safe. I felt safe. It was after he saved me, I’ve been able to feel what he feels. Know exactly where he was. Or is. Some say imprinting anyone, a wolf or human, is done by sex. But we didn’t do anything. He just held me. Safe in his arms.” She explained.
“Could be that. Could be a soul thing.” Bobby says. “Soulmates.”
Sam and Y/N nodded.
A moment passed. Y/N shook her head out of her thoughts.
“We need to get Dean back before the Alpha kills him. When he deems Dean no longer useful. I can, feel him. He does feel far. But I’m sure I can find him.”
“Well, let’s do this. Bobby, you, and the hunters try to get their numbers down. Kill as many as you can. Y/N and I will get Dean out of there. Then after—”
“I’m killing that Alpha, once and for all. More lives are in danger with him alive.” She growled.
Sam could only nod.
 A shot rang out.
“All the guards outside are half breeds. Aim for the head.” She ordered the hunters that came along.
Shot after shot rang out.
She took in their scent. They weren’t that old, freshly presented. She stared at them in confusion. Half breeds don’t present. Unless a certain gene allows them to present or not enough research went into half breeds.
“Sam, you and I we need to move in. now.” She ordered. Sam nodded.
“Keep them from entering.” She told the hunters.
“Sam, let’s go!”
And they ran their way inside.
“Get the human!” the alpha ordered.
Dean, looking a bit rough from weeks and weeks of rough sex, little food and water and no sleep. The wolf picked him up by the collar, Dean grunted against the motion as his hands were bound behind his back since the day they brought him in here. His wrists have been cut up and bloodied from his struggles.
“I’d be happy to rip his heart out for ya boss.” He sneered.
“NO!” The alpha shouted.
The wolf shuddered.
“He’s mine.”
He threw Dean at the Alpha’s side.
Dean landed on his side with a hard thud and grunt. He was too weak to play the tough guy. Too weak to give a witty comeback.
He just laid there, waiting for his death.
Sam, preoccupied by other wolves in the warehouse as Y/N walked into the Alpha’s Domaine. His den, his ‘Throne Room’. He stood on a balcony meant for loading large machinery. It had no railing on one side.
She could smell his blood. Causing a growl to emerge deep within her chest. Her fists clench so hard she could draw blood.
“There she is.” The alpha growled.
“Here I am. Do you want to end this or should I?” she asked. Glaring down at him.
“You dare talk like that to your Alpha?” he growled.
“You are not my alpha, I’m no one’s alpha. You are a murderer.”
“Now, I’d beg to differ on that. You killed your own kind.”
“I have two kinds. Human and wolf. Humans seem a lot better than you.”
He growled at her remark.
“You mean, like this human!” he pulls Dean up by the collar. His sheer strength alone allowed him to hold Dean in the air, hanging him by his collar. He hung him over the ledge with no railing. Intending on letting him either hang to his death or drop him.
Her heart dropped.
Dean kicked, trying to get free. He began gagging for air.
“He’s weak, just like your father was. Your father was infatuated with a human and it weakened him. He was my right hand man!” he shouted.
She tried to keep a good poker face going. But Dean’s eyes began to roll as he was loosing more and more air.
“You are just like him. Infatuated with a human.”
“Let him go.” She says. Demanding.
The Alpha cocked his head, cocking an eyebrow, smirking. Oh, she thinks she’s going to have it easy. He thought.
“Please, I’ll turn myself over to you willingly. But you have to let him go. Alive!” she demanded.
“Hmm, such a tempting offer.” The Alpha says playfully. “But, no. I think I’ll pass.” He says.
He repositions Dean so he could easily wrap his hand around his throat. She could tell he was squeezing the life out of him, he kicked furiously, desperately trying to get free.
I hope this will work. She thought.
She darts, climbing up a stack of crates leading up to the platform.
She managed to get on the platform without him noticing. She could see the color to Dean’s face changing. His eyes rolling.
A fire burned in her eyes. He’s not going to take him from her.
With her claws now drawn, she forces her hand through the Alpha’s back and through his chest.
He can see what looks like silver nails on her claws.
The impact causes him to drop Dean.
He drops on to his back with a hard thud.
The Alpha gags as the poison from the polish is coursing through his veins.
“You really should have taken the deal.” She says. Pulling her hand from his back the Alpha drops dead with a thud. On the concrete ground below.
“Dean!” she gasps. Seeing him not moving.
She rushes to him, cutting him free. She brings her ear to his mouth. He’s not breathing.
“No, no, no. Dean, please.” She begs.
She works him over her shoulder as she get’s him to a more flat surface.
“Dean!” she heard Sam shout.
She laid Dean flat on his back and began doing chest compressions.
“Sam, Bobby, we need to get him help.” She begs as she worked on him.
“Cas!” Sam prays out loud. “Cas, if you hear me please, we need you to save him!”
“Cas!” she adds on. “Please, I can’t lose him!”
“Sam, Y/N.” Cas says behind her.
“Cas, help him.” She begs. Her eyes blurring with tears.
“I will try.” He says.
He places two fingers to his forehead. Only to see limited injuries healed. But Dean took in a deep, much needed, breath.
Cas falls back, weakened.
“I do not have enough grace to heal him completely. My grace has been depleting lately. Once I am fully regenerated, I’ll heal him again.” Cas says.
“Thanks Cas, it’s something.” Y/N says. “Let’s get him home.”

Miles Between Us Chapter 5 ~The Tethered Ties~

WARNING: VERY EXPLICIT SEXUAL & LANGUAGE CONTENT
PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE PROCEEDING
For this chapter, you might need to refresh your memory on the history of Harry's connection to the Fraser family and Murtagh, if so you can reread the chapter Who the Hell is Harry? from Series 1 (AIWFCIY). On this Tumblr link or on this AO3 link.
Previously in Reunited ...
"Are you working today?"
He grinned. "No. I took a day off." And he'd arranged with Willie he wouldn't be starting work until ten tomorrow morning.
"Well, ..."
"Weel what?"
"I think I'd like to go to bed."
To bed?  He searched her face looking for any evidence indicating she was unwell or fatigued. After all, she'd been working a lot these past few days. But he found none. Instead, her eyes betrayed what she had in mind. Still, he could be mistaken and wanted to be sure. "To bed or to sleep?" he asked slowly and cautiously.
She stood on her tiptoes and brushed her lips against his, making his stomach flipped. "What do you think?" she whispered against his mouth.
There was an awareness on Claire's face that revealed she felt the wild rapping against his rib cage. Both of their breathing changed, and in an instant, the closeness of their bodies was no longer means to keep anxiety at bay.
His heart rate suddenly became an equivalent of a man running from a bull in Pamplona. "Ach, Sassenach, couldnae ye wait until we were nearer to home to tell me that?"

Claire watched Jamie in her periphery as he slowed the car and rolled into the cottage's driveway. It started to rain heavily, a stark contrast to the sunnier weather that had greeted her in Inverness. But she was too preoccupied focusing on him to notice anything else.
"It's nice to be back," she whispered, smothering a smile as she unfastened her seatbelt.
He grunted something incoherent. Claire could tell he was trying his hardest to keep himself together by the way his jaw ticked. Given she was operating on adrenaline ever since that kiss upon her arrival, she realised she shouldn't have teased him with that naughty innuendo before they'd left the airport.
"I think I'd like to go to bed," she'd said. Jamie's expression had changed when he read the meaning in her eyes. She'd thought his reaction was adorable, but now, with her skin feeling too tight for her body, she understood his predicament. With two and a half weeks of sexual frustration swirling in the air between them, she suddenly felt sympathetic. She'd even gone as far as doing as she was told after he'd ordered her not to speak another word on their drive back to Broch Mordha, even when he drove above the speed limit. But the silence between them only served to intensify the atmosphere more.
"We'll get yer bags later ..." He turned off the ignition and briefly glanced at her. "...when it stops raining."
Claire made a move to get out but was surprised at how quick Jamie clambered out of the car and skirted to her side. He opened the door, their eyes meeting when he offered his hand. Feeling the intensity of his regard, she allowed him to help her out and pull her towards the house, squealing when she was blasted by an icy torrent.
Once inside, he booted the cottage door shut behind him, shrugging his jacket off and shaking the rain from his hair, propelling driblets everywhere and making her laugh as she did the same. But her laughter was soon cut off by the low sound he made in his throat, his slow, deliberate advance, the muscular chest he exposed when he peeled off his sodden top. The wind pelted rain on the windows, thunder reverberating, lightning flashing and illuminating the semi-dark living room in irregular intervals.
She shivered, but she knew it wasn't from the cold. "Where's Rollo and Adso?" she asked, her bottom hitting the back of the sofa as she walked back.
He unbuckled his belt. "At Willie's. I wasnae sure if we were gonnae be out the whole day or no'."
When he dragged his zipper down, she hissed on a gasp, watching his shoes come off and jeans sloughing onto the floor in record time. She swallowed audibly. "Oh, so no distractions then," she squeaked. He didn't reply. Instead, he reached out to tug her top off. When his eyes landed on her white lacy bra, he swore harshly under his breath. "Perhaps some tea first, to warm us up?" she suggested, feeling shy all of a sudden, her arms coming up to cover herself. It was clear their time apart, though not really that long, made her a tad bit bashful.
"Tea?" he said in a low voice, his hands prying hers. "Dinnae fash, Sassenach ..." He unclasped her bra and let it drop to the floor. "I'll keep ye warm."
He undid her jeans and slid his hands inside to cup her buttocks, pulling her in and dipping his head forward to lock their mouths together, obliterating all thoughts and reason with each expert sensual slide of his tongue. He groaned into her mouth, and she could barely remain upright from the onslaught of feeling and need, an intoxicating, heart-stopping desire that made every part of her body scream.
When they broke apart, she shakily toed off her shoes as he impatiently tugged at her waistband, sliding down her panties along to expose her most intimate part, glad she'd made time for a bit of body pampering. It was a decision she'd made on a whim, thanks to Annalise's cajoling to accompany her to the beauty salon. In all her life, she'd never once considered doing it since she'd always been the type to keep the 70s vibe alive in her pants. The loose string of curses he uttered and the shudder that passed through his body told her the pain, and the effort had not been in vain. "Ah, Christ, Sassenach, nae wonder ye're cold, ye're all bare down there."
She didn't know whether to die of embarrassment, laugh, or hit him on the head for that remark. But those feelings were only fleeting when he shoved down his boxer briefs and fisted his heavy erection, his head dropping down to her neck to rain kisses on a sensitive spot he knew so well. "I don't want a condom between us, Sassenach," he said hoarsely. "I want ye to know I'm clean, and I'm serious about us. But if ye're not on a pill, I'll put one on for ye."
Her head lolled to the side, his hot breath on her skin making her breathless and unable to think straight. "It's alright. I'm on a pill. I want to feel all of ye. There's only been you ...you know that."
"Sweet, Jesus." With one swift motion, he lifted her, her legs automatically encircling around his waist. He crushed her against the wall, the force of it causing a hanging art to drop to the floor. Both of them vaguely noticed, only focused on getting as close to one another as possible. She palmed the wall behind her with one hand for balance as he lifted her higher to take her nipple into his mouth, tongue flicking and teasing at the sensitive bud, making her moan. She threw her head back and arched, her fingers tangling into his hair.
"C-can't wait. Please. Now. Jamie!" she commanded, clawing his back.
He hauled her from the wall and strode over to the sofa, almost toppling over Rollo's rope toy. Then he shoved the box seat with his knee, and a pile of books with his game consoles spilt onto the rug.
His laughter blew out on a puff of warm breath, stirring strands of curls that rested on her cheek. "Sorry, Sassenach," he mumbled, carefully stepping over the scattered heaps.
"Don't care ...just want you."
He dropped onto the sofa and eased her on his lap to straddle him. Every inch of her skin prickled and thrummed as his fingers traced the curves of her breasts and hips.
"Jesus, I've missed this ...us like this," he murmured into her ears. "Look at ye, so bloody beautiful, and ye're mine."
His words rang in her ears. She had to force herself to stop fidgeting as he skated his hands along her thighs to her backside, drawing her nearer to his hardness. She could feel the heat of his erection against the softness of her belly and his fingertips igniting her skin anywhere he touched. Her reserve vanished when he gently pulled her in for another deep kiss, their simultaneous moan rending the atmosphere and every neuron in her brain shorting out.
She broke their kiss, gasping for air, and he stared at her with barely constrained desperation, lifting her by the waist as she held on to his shoulders. Guided by his strong hands, she slowly lowered herself onto his thick length, inch by inch, their mouths dropping open and exchanging breaths. When their bodies locked together like two halves of a whole, they stared at each other in wonderment, sharing a mutual appreciation of the fact that their lust-filled late-night phone conversations paled in comparison to the reality of blinding pleasure.
Unable to take her eyes away from his face - the face of a man who bore so much weight on his shoulders, she tightened her muscles around him, extracting a broken groan to pass his lips. She wanted to be the one who eased his burden, take away all his guilt and anxiety and rid him of his nightmares. He'd been through a lot and, while she had a vague idea of the extent of it, a man who's about honour and duty was good to the core. Looking at his tortured expression, an intense ache bloomed to life again.
"I love you, James Fraser," she whispered, digging her fingernails on his shoulders and working her hips in rhythm to his upward drive.
Jamie made a hoarse sound and pulled her down to brush his lips against hers. "I love ye too, Sassenach. Not being with ye, even for a day …it hurts so much." Lightning slashed through the room, and she saw his handsome face shadowed, his hair dishevelled from her desperate fingers. "Christ, a man like me should have to barter his soul to the devil to have someone like ye. But ye love me. Yer love is everything, and ye're saving this dark soul. What have I done to deserve ye?" he rasped on a harsh exhale.
Claire wanted to tell him he didn't have to change anything to deserve her. She loved everything about him, even that dark side he harboured. Together they could work things out. She hoped she communicated that with her eyes before he lowered his face into the crook of her neck and started bucking into her in rough strokes, his broken versions of her name on his lips.
The rain continued to drum against the windows, turning Jamie's cottage into their own private world where they were the only two people who existed. "Jamie," she whimpered, tugging the hair at the nape of his neck. He squeezed her bottom before lightly smacking it, grunting deep in his throat as she rocked against him at a faster pace. "Oh, God, I'm going to come. It feels so good."
Jamie reared with sharper and faster thrusts, answering every grind of her hips, and she sobbed, bracing herself on his shoulders. "Christ, Sassenach. Ah, fuck!" He lowered his head to suck her nipples, making her seized up around him.
Her pleasure exploded, vivid and bright, and when her thigh muscles slackened, Jamie surged up into her heat for the final time and roared, their peak vibrating between them with such force, her lungs were robbed of air, and her vision dimmed. There was nothing but their love spilling from their hearts. They clung to each other for a long while as the sound of rain switched from loud drumming to a pitter-patter, their mouths engaging in a slow, mating dance, their hearts beating closely together as if it sought to merge into one.
As their hearts calmed and their breathing slowed down, Jamie wrapped his arms around her to nestle his head in her neck. The sound of rain against the roof echoed through the cottage, and they remained motionless for a long time. When they did move, it's only because Jamie was aroused again, and their second time around ended up leaving trails of shambles and mess. A floor lamp and a vase were knocked over, and Rollo's basket bed accidentally kicked to the other side of the room. By the time they made it into his bedroom, a curtain had been yanked down, and apples rolled off the bowl on the dining table, leaving the living room in a state of disarray.
After another rigorous bout of lovemaking, they both collapsed into each other's arms. As they regained their breaths, Jamie released a satisfied sigh before closing his eyes with a smile. There was enough time for a talk later. But right now, all she wanted was to relish being cocooned in the warmth and safety of his arms.
"Jamie?" she murmured as his breathing evened out.
"Aye?" He was barely conscious, and she couldn't help but grin as she listened to the soothing beat of his heart beneath her ear.
"You're definitely a keeper."
She watched as the sweetest smile formed on his tired but handsome face until sleep finally claimed him.
..........
Jamie had awoken earlier with Claire snuggled into him, their skin a wee bit sticky and damp from their body heat and yesterday's marathon sex. Coming out of a deep slumber had more to do with his thickening arousal than the internal body clock and the birds' chirping outside. It had made him wonder if his desire for Claire would ever wane, but it was quite apparent, after last night, he was still left with wanting more. But he'd let her sleep, knowing they both had jobs to attend to.
After they had awoken sometime during the night, they'd raided the fridge for something to eat and then went straight back to bed to talk about their work and their plans for today. Their energetic bed activity had left them depleted, but the intimacy of holding each other while conversing in the dark had restored his soul, resulting in a deep, restful sleep.
Although he'd told Willie he would come late to work, Jamie felt so well-rested, he'd decided to start early and let Claire do her own thing. It was a good idea, too, because after the freak storm yesterday, there were quite a few trees that had been damaged and needed to be cut down or remove for safety purposes. And Claire had many things to sort out, like getting in touch with some bloke for her boss' publishing company.
He was working behind the village church, the area bordered with hawthorn, rowan and alder trees. He and Willie had already safely removed one of the damaged trees threatening to collapse on the church's roof and was just about to start uprooting a rotted tree stump when his godfather, Murtagh, came out of nowhere. It wasn't unusual seeing him there. It was part of his godfather's duty, as he called it, to pop up once in a while to check up on any of the Frasers.
"Ach, there ye are," Murtagh greeted with a half-smile. "Willie told me I'd find ye here." He took out a thermos flask from his rucksack and began to unscrew the top. "I thought I'd stop by and see what ye're up to. Heard the Beauchamp lass is back."
He wiped the sweat off his brows. "Aye, Claire's back. Picked her up yesterday."
Murtagh poured some tea into the thermos' cup and handed it to him. "Sounds like it's serious between the two of ye." He winked as Jamie gratefully took the cup and sipped the hot brew. "If she's anything like her mother, I'd be careful not to let her slip away. I made that mistake once, lad ...dinnae let that happen to ye too."
He frowned as he recalled seeing Harry at Inverness airport yesterday. "About that ...ye mentioned once over dinner that ye knew Claire's father, Harry ...I mean, Henry."
"Aye ...Henry, that prick, bless his soul," Murtagh muttered before making a sign of the cross. "I thought he was my mate. Did ye ken that pillock stole my burd from right under my nose?"
"I remember ye saying that. But tell me more about Henry."
"Ye were probably too young to remember." Murtagh shifted on his feet and shoved his hands into his jeans' pockets. "Before he met and married Jules ... Claire's mother, that is, we were the best of mates and hanged out a lot in the pub whenever he was here. Sometimes we'd take ye and Willie along when we went fishing or hiking. While I concentrated on teaching Willie how to hook a worm, Henry would be showing ye how to throw a pebble on the surface of the water. Or how to start a fire with sticks. Stuff like that. I could see from early on he was fond of ye."
Jamie searched his memory bank for that particular image, but he found none. "I have vague memories about fishing ..aye, but ye've taken Willie and me out with a lot of yer mates, especially summer when school was out." He wiped his dirt streak hands down the thighs of his jeans. "But I cannae seem to recall Henry."
"Hmmm ...nae wonder." Murtagh dragged a booted foot back and forth on the dirt. "It wasnae a pleasant memory the last time ye saw him." He swallowed hard as he looked into the distance. "After Henry married Jules, I didnae hear from them again. And it was a good thing too, because I think I would have given him a right good pounding after what he did. I dinnae think they would ever return, and I was surprised because they both loved this place and had made quite a few friends here ...even before they met."
Feeling the cold chill on his neck, Jamie turned up his sleeveless jacket's collar and zipped up his front. "So what happened the last time I saw him?"
Murtagh puffed out a breath. "The last time ye saw Henry, he was in a car accident ...with his family."
"What?" he choked.
Murtagh turned tired-looking eyes on him, and there was a deep sadness in them that startled him. "It was the day they were coming back to Broch Mordha for the first time in years. I heard talks around the village that they've rented a wee cottage from Mrs Baird. And also heard words about a wean. I didnae want to stick around to find out. I thought I'd take a wee trip to Skye and stay there until Henry and his family were gone. I was just packing when ye came barging into my hoose tellin me that a car had smashed to a tree. I came running oot like a gudgeon with ye right behind me. Ye must have been nine or ten. It wasnae far from where I lived then. By the time I got there, Henry was still alive, and Jules was unconscious. He ordered me to get the bairn first and then Jules. My first thoughts were to save Jules, but the wee child was screaming, and Henry was begging me to save her. Between the two of us, we managed to get wee Claire oot, and I ordered ye to take her as far as possible from the site. And that ye did. But I couldnae save Harry and Jules because the car caught fire and Henry lost consciousness. When I smelt gasoline, I had to run, and that's when the car exploded."
"Oh dear Lord." Jamie fell a step back as faint memories flying about like bits of a jigsaw puzzle flooded his brain, his mind struggling to fit the pieces together. Every time he managed to recall something, he couldn't hold on to it long enough to construct that day's event.
He had so many questions and wanted to ask Murtagh more but drew up short when the crew of workmen, working for him and Willie rounded the church. Four sets of eyes landed on them, greeting them with a nod and grunt. Thinking this was not the place to discuss such things, Jamie cleared his throat and shook his head, his way of telling Murtagh they'll discuss this another time.
Murtagh grabbed his shoulder as he turned to pick up his equipment. "Look, lad," Murtagh began in a low voice. "Ye probably cannae remember because ye were so traumatised that day that ye're ma made ye attend some counselling. It took a year for ye to get over it. For as long as I've known ye, ye have this tendency to bury pain and grief. Just do me a favour, alright. Leave the past in the past. Talk to Claire about it by all means, but for fuck sake, dinnae tell yer ma I told ye. She'd be on my case like a rash. She thinks ye got enough on yer plate ever since ye came back from the Middle East without me dumping this on ye. Are we clear?"
Jamie nodded and watched his godfather turn around and leave. Claire's parents' accident wasn't news to him, but the fact that he had apparently been a witness, it was just too mind-boggling beyond words. It's hard enough to reconcile that there's a possibility he'd been communicating with a ghost for the past year and a half, and now, with Murtagh's latest revelation, he felt like he's going to implode with bafflement.
Mentally shaking himself, he banished any further thoughts about Harry and concentrated on doing as much job as possible to be with Claire sooner. Operating heavy machinery while his mind was elsewhere was dangerous. So he poured his concentration onto work.
Later that day, when he returned to the cottage, Jamie found Claire sat at the dining table with her laptop on, her dark curls tied loosely in a bun. There was a fire going already in the hearth and his home smelled of cooking. She sat cross-legged on the chair, and he realised she was talking to someone via video conference. Not wanting to disturb her, he quietly shut the door. But Claire had already seen him and beckoned him over with a motion of her hand.
She got up from the chair and stood on tiptoes to give him a kiss. "You're just in time," Claire smiled. "I'd like you to meet someone."
He returned the kiss and pulled her in close, inhaling her sweet clean smell. "I hope it's not yer boss."
She tugged his hand and laughed. "No, don't be silly."
He leaned down to look at her laptop, but there was no one there. Instead, a little rectangle showed him in the corner of the screen, making him winced when he saw his own image. He looked like he'd been hauled through a thicket in the rain and his hair laid around his face in thick, damp clumps. It was definitely not the first impression he would have chosen for meeting anyone associated with Claire.
"Umm, Sassenach, naebody's there," he said, looking at her.
"Just hang fire," she replied, stealing another kiss from him.
He smiled. And when he finally glanced back down at the laptop, he nearly choked. Right there on the screen, peering up at him, was a cantankerous-looking, crocodile Dundee version of Harry. Same eyes, the same face, and though a handsome fellow, this man's skin looked weather-beaten, and he had a scary scowl on his face.
"Jamie," Claire giggled. "I'd like you to meet my uncle ...Quentin Lambert Beauchamp, also known as uncle Lamb. Uncle Lamb, this is Jamie, James Fraser ...my boyfriend. I'm staying with him at his place for at least a week."
"Is that right?" the man on the screen harumphed with a growl as he stuck a thick cigar between his teeth. "Not what I was expecting."
Ah, holy fuck! Though uncle Lamb looked like Harry, Jamie knew this man was nothing like Harry. Harry was ...or had been a polite, refined and jolly ol' chap with a very posh accent. This man was far from the polished look Harry presented. This man looked like he'd seen the world and confronted danger and probably wrestled crocodiles as a hobby. Convincing uncle Lamb that he's good enough for Claire was not going to be a walk in a park. Jamie knew he had a long evening ahead as he gingerly sat down in front of Claire's laptop and braced himself.
Jamie cleared his throat and sat up straight. "Good evening, sir ..."

Babe
A/N: Um so this is kinda a vanilla smut since I know not everyone is into all the kinky shit. But yeah, trust me when I say my next one won't be the same. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Also if you’ve seen the ‘I trust you with my drink’ trend on TikTok, this is kinda where it came from.
Pairing: Ellie Williams x F!reader
Characters: Ellie, OC Male, You, mentions of Joel, Dina, Jesse.
Warnings: mentions of roofies, alcohol, brief mention of potential sexual assault (?), swearing, threat, slight violence, smut, fingering, oral, lowkey vanilla smut, basically PWP.
You hadn’t expected the night to turn out this way at all. No, you were expecting to walk back to your place with your boyfriend and then watch as he embarrassed himself trying to get into your pants, yet again. But that’s definitely not what happened tonight, what happened was much better than you expected.
It was the night of the dance and you had just arrived, your arm wrapped around your boyfriend Jack’s arm. Your eyes squinted at the bright lights around you in the hall and upbeat music filled your ears. Your gaze now wandered over to the dance floor, noticing Dina and Jesse were dancing together and having a great time. It was when you looked towards the bar that you saw her.
Ellie.
Her short hair was tied up in a small ponytail, showing more of her facial features than she usually would. Her hand was wrapped around a small whisky glass, moving it towards her lips for a sip every so often. Before you could move your gaze away, you locked eyes with her, noticing a small, shy smile appear on her lips.
Noticing Jack was moving towards his other friends, you gently pulled on his sleeve, leaning over and kissing his cheek before telling him that you were going to see your friend. He grumbled a reply as he walked away from you, causing you to roll your eyes at him.
“All on your lonesome, eh?” You joked as you walked over, ordering a drink as you stood beside Ellie. You watched as her head dipped slightly, a chuckle leaving her lips before her eyes met yours once more.
“I could say the same for you.” She grinned, gesturing over towards Jack and his friends, watching as he laughed at something one of them said next to him.
You shook your head as you didn’t reply, leaning against the bar as you gripped the glass with both your hands. Ellie’s eyebrows rose in question at your silence, watching as you took a sip of your drink.
“Hey, what’s wrong?” She spoke after a moment, her body turning slightly towards you as you looked up at her in surprise.
“It’s just that-” You paused for a moment, trying to find the right words to explain what you were thinking. “I want to break up with him.”
“Woah, what?” Her eyes widened. “I thought you liked the guy.”
“I did...” You trailed off as you took another sip of your drink, your gaze turning back to Jack and his friends, watching as he spoke about something and then slightly gestured to you.
“But?”
“I feel like he just wants to have sex and then he’ll break up with me.” You sighed, your hands fiddling with the glass to preoccupy yourself.
Ellie’s posture straightened in response, her body tensing at the words. You realise what you said might’ve sounded bad and your hand instantly went to grab hers that was on the bar in reassurance.
“He’s not forcing me to do anything I promise,” You spoke gently, watching as her face became slightly red and her eyes were trained on your hand on hers. “It’s just that he really wants to have sex.”
“That’s still not okay, Y/N.” She shook her head, downing the rest of her drink from her glass before placing it down.
“Look, let’s not talk about him right now okay?” You replied, trying to turn the conversation around.
You knew that Ellie wouldn’t take the new information well, especially with her dislike for Jack in the first place. You and Ellie were close ever since you saved her from a hoard that was passing through while she was on patrol. You both had managed to hide it out on one of the abandoned floors of an office building for a few nights, getting to know and trust one another. It was then she learned that you had just ran from a group called the ‘WLF’ and you were barely hanging on by the skin of your teeth.
Once the coast was clear from the hoard, she had offered you a place at Jackson, asking you to come back with her. You had agreed, causing you two to become close throughout the years. That’s when your crush on her had started and to try and get rid of it, you had started to date Jack.
You could admit you did like him, but you couldn’t get Ellie out of your head. Whenever you were with him, thoughts of her always appeared in your mind.
After quickly changing the subject, you noticed how her frown had slowly turned into a smile as you two laughed and joked about Joel walking away with a woman for the first time in a ‘century’, as Ellie called it. Placing your half full glass on the bar counter, you told her that you were just going to the bathroom, asking her to take care of your drink while you were away in which she agreed.
Ellie bit her lip as she watched you walk away from her. Was it selfish to say that she was glad that you wanted to break up with your boyfriend? Probably. But the thought of him putting pressure on you to sleep with him irritated her to the core.
It was when she felt someone stand in front of her that she looked up, her posture straightening once more as she realised who it was. He had a playful smirk on his face as Ellie looked behind him and saw some of his friends hanging behind, watching.
“Shouldn’t that be my job? Holding my girls drink?” He snorted, leaning over to try and take the glass from her hands.
“No fucking way,” Ellie replied bluntly, pulling away and putting the glass behind her on the bar, crossing her arms as he stepped forward. “I know what you’re going to try.”
“Well then you’ll know she’s being a prude and just needs a little...” He pauses for a moment, before the smile on his face widens when he hears the snickers from his friends. “Push.”
Ellie didn’t hesitate when she threw her fist hard at his face, hitting his nose and hearing a loud crack. She watched as he fell back, landing on the ground while holding his now bloody nose, her body hovering over his. She didn’t notice the crowd that were now gathering around as she grabbed his shirt tightly and brought his body towards hers.
You were just walking back towards the bar when you noticed the small crowd by the bar where Ellie was previously. With a frown, you squeezed yourself through to see Jack on the floor, blood covering his face and your friend holding him by his shirt, the anger clear as day on her face. You paused with shock for a moment, taking in the scene before you rushed forward, hearing part of their conversation.
“-do you understand?” Ellie growled as you gently grabbed her shoulder. She looked over at you, her gaze softening before letting Jack go completely, ignoring as he groaned in pain on the floor.
“That’s enough!” Maria’s voice rang out as she walked towards you, Tommy was not far behind as he helped Jack back up while she tried to disperse the crowd.
Jack watched as your hand slowly moved to Ellie’s neck, your thumb rubbing in circles to comfort and try and calm her down, causing him to laugh. You both looked over as he wiped some of the blood off of his face with his thumb. “I always knew you were a whore, Y/N.” He pointed towards the two of you in disgust as you felt Ellie pull herself away from you.
“What the fuck did you just say?” Raising her voice, her body moved towards him once more but stopped as you stood in front of her, shaking your head as your hands cupped her cheeks.
“It’s not worth it, Ellie,” You reassured her as you glanced over at him, a sigh escaping your lips before speaking. “We’re over, Jack.” And that was all you said as you took Ellie’s hand, pulling her away from the crowd and towards the door, away from the mess that had been created and towards your house.
                                                            -----
You sat on your back porch, blanket wrapped around you as Ellie sat next to you on one of the wooden chairs. She didn’t say anything as she looked up at the stars, almost as if she refused to look at you.
Sighing, you fidgeted in your seat, turning slightly so that you were facing her. “Ellie,” You spoke after a moment, watching as her gaze wavered slightly. “I’m not mad if that’s what you’re thinking.”
“I know you’re not,” She sighed, looking down at her hands as she spoke. “I shouldn’t of hit him.”
“But he deserved it right?” You chuckled sadly as you gripped the blanket tighter around you. “You don’t usually hit someone unless they really deserve it.”
A small smirk played on her lips as she looked over at you, nodding in agreement. “Yeah,” She paused for a moment before speaking once more. “He threatened to drug you, so I hit him.”
You let out a shaky breath at the realisation of how serious it was. Your hands trembling slightly at the thought of Ellie not being there. Feeling her hand softly cover one of yours, you noticed that she had moved to crouch in front of you. “Thank you.” You spoke softly as she nodded in acknowledgment.
You two didn’t speak for a moment, your eyes locking with one another before you leaned forward and pressed your lips to hers softly. The kiss was soft and sweet before she pulled back, a soft sigh leaving her lips. “Y/N, I can’t,” She said sadly, looking back up at you. “You just broke up with him.”
“Let me just say this then,” You replied, your hands moving to the sides of her neck gently. “I have been in love with you for so long and I tried to date someone else to get over you. I thought you didn’t feel the same way about me and that’s why I was dating Jack.”
Ellie paused for a moment, her eyes widened at you admitting your love for her. She nodded, taking it in before crashing her lips back onto yours. The gasp you made was silenced by her tongue as you tasted the whisky she drank earlier on her lips.
You hands moved so that they were wrapped around her neck while she stood up over you, her hands holding the armrest of the chair to support herself. Panting, you both moved away slightly, a small grin appearing on your lips as you were able to admire Ellie from up close.
“I thought you didn’t want this?” You questioned, giggling slightly as her cheeks became a slight red.
“And then I thought, fuck it.” She grinned, leaning back forward to kiss you, her lips pressing hungrily against yours. Her right hand moved to slowly push your hair behind your ear before she started kissing down your jawline and towards your neck, nipping at it gently.
As she kissed your neck, you felt as her hands moved to your waist, slowly pulling you up from your seat so that you were both standing. “Ellie, let’s go inside.” You gasped as she bit the side of your neck, knowing that it was going to leave a mark in the morning.
She then moved away, grabbing your hand as you guided her into your room. As soon as the door was shut, you were on her again, your lips clashing together as your body leaned against the door, her body on yours.
You only pulled away when you started to take each other’s clothes off. Grabbing the hem of her shirt, she raised her arms to help, once it was off, you threw it across the room before pulling yours up over your head quickly.
Your bodies hastily moved towards the bed, kissing each other passionately. Ellie’s back fell, slowly landing on the bed while you climbed on top of her, straddling her. You shifted your body slightly, moving so that you could reach the button of her jeans, your fingers easily unbuttoning them and pushing them down her hips.
She raised her body slightly, helping you take her jeans off as you leaned forward, crushing your lips against hers hastily. You felt as her hand moved towards your hair, gripping it tightly in her hand causing you to moan into her mouth.
One of your hands slowly trailed down her body before reaching the band of her underwear, your fingers teasing before slowly moving your hand inside. Your middle finger slowly moved to her clit, smirking when Ellie gasped at the feeling, her hand that was gripping your hair tightening.
You moved your finger slowly in circles, teasing her as your lips moved to her jaw, pressing soft kisses as you listened to her soft panting. You felt as her hips grinded against your fingers as you added your ring finger, the pace getting quicker as moans began to come out of her mouth.
“Keep doing it like that, Y/N.” She gasped out as her hand went to the back of your neck bringing you down and pressing your lips against hers. Your fingers sped up as you felt her body twitch as she came, her pants and moans muffled by your lips against hers as you helped her through her high.
You soon felt her body relax, removing your fingers from her before pulling away from her. Ellie didn’t give you time to react when her body was on yours, pushing you onto your back while her lean figure hovered over you.
“Hey!” You giggled as you felt her hair tickle your face, looking up at her with a soft smile.
“It’s your turn babe.” Ellie smirked before she started to kiss down your neck, nipping at your skin before moving down your chest. She then moved off of you before moving towards the edge of the bed, adjusting you slightly before unbuttoning your jeans and throwing them off to the side of the room. Her fingers then reached towards your underwear, moving them down and towards your ankles and off of your body.
You soon felt the tip of her tongue on you, almost as if she was testing the waters. The feeling of it caused you to jerk in surprise, hearing Ellie laugh before her hands gripped your hips to hold you in place. She then tried it again and this time she was not holding back.
Her tongue moved against you, slowly creating a rhythm as your hands reached her hair, gripping it tightly to try and ground yourself. Whines soon began to leave your mouth as well as her name as you felt one of her fingers push inside of you.
“Oh my god,” You moaned as you felt her finger curl slowly, teasingly. “Ellie, please.”
Hearing yourself beg was something you never thought you’d hear as you felt your cheeks redden, but that thought was soon gone as she quickened her pace. You hadn’t realised that she had pushed in another finger until she hit that sweet spot, causing your body to twitch in pleasure.
Ellie knew that you were almost there as your body began to try and grind against her and her pace began to hit a quick rhythm. It wasn’t long before you came, cries coming from your mouth as she kept up her pace to try and make it last longer.
You soon began to relax as you tried to catch your breath, feeling Ellie remove herself from you before looking up at you with a smirk. “What?” You asked breathlessly, running your hand through your hair as you pushed yourself up from the bed slightly.
“Nothing,” She shrugged as she got up, her body moving towards the bathroom, grabbing the doorknob before pausing. She looked over at you and gestured to the bathroom with her head. “Up for round two?”
A wide smile appeared on your lips as you sat up.
“Fuck yeah.”

Part Two || Part Four || Masterpost (mobile) || Fanfic masterpost
Tony had left Y/N back at home after leaving the beach. He made sure she was settled back at his mansion, after he had had his face settled between her thighs that is. That was a surefire way to get her to relax and he cherished the taste of her on his tongue, inhaling the scent of her. It had done the trick well enough, and he had encouraged her to take a warm bath. She was confused at where he had to go at the hour, but he had assured her it would not take long, and he would be back before she knew it. She was rattled, he could tell, about the whole ordeal at the boardwalk. But she was acting tough, and he had to admire her resiliency. It was going to make her a good wife and hopefully mother in the future.
The tunnel he was walking down was dank and had an off smell about it. What he had ordered could not happen on his property, so this was the next best bet. It was secluded, in a seedy part of the city. Cops were around but they were preoccupied with things above ground.
He was met outside the room by Happy who had arrived before him. “It’s all ready, boss.”
“Good,” Tony clipped. “I’m assuming we have a dumpsite already?”
“That’s taken care of.”
Tony patted Happy’s cheek. “I can always count on you.”
He strode past him into the room, the smile falling from his face at the sight. The two men his guards had caught were chained up to the wall. The guys had already been beaten by his men, their faces dripping blood, deep bruises along their abdomens. But they had been kept conscious according to Tony’s instructions. He wanted to deliver the final blows himself personally. Anyone who tried to dare lay hands on Y/N, whisk her away from him… he had bloodthirst on his mind.
“Remember me?” Tony asked sarcastically, taking off his jacket, tossing it towards one of his men who caught it before it could fall to the ground.
The men were blabbering, eyes swollen, lips swollen. They just wanted it to end. Tony snickered at the thought. He had an array of tools at his disposal to make sure this would last longer and draw the pain out for them.
At the end of it, when their hearts had finally stopped, he looked all the look of a serial killer. His t-shirt was blotted with blood, a wicked smile at seeing the work he had done on them, still hearing their pained screams. His fists were bloody. He never touched people like this but since it was for her…
She would no doubt notice and fawn over it. Win-win situation for him.

Y/N swam over to Tony at the edge of the pool where he was reclining in a chair. He was watching her closely, thinking of how she had almost been taken from him a week ago and the thought made his stomach twist. He needed to protect her always, keep her safe for not only herself but him.
She pulled herself up enough out to rest on her elbows, her feet kicking below the water. He liked the suit she had chosen; it flattered her. Not that much did not flatter her. He would be hard pressed to find anything that would make her unattractive to him.
She pouted, “Are you sure you’re not going to come in?”
Tony stuck out his bottom lip, mocking her. “No, baby.”
“But why not?”
“Because I like watching you.”
Her smile was all flavors of seductive, “I thought you liked touching me.”
“Cheeky,” Tony chuckled, and she shrugged, looking proud of herself. He brought his vodka to his lips, taking a long swig.
“I was thinking…” she said catching his attention again. “We could have some fun. If you came to sit on the side of the pool…”
Tony chuckled again at her insinuation, his mind picturing her perfect lips around the head of his dick. “Are you insatiable?” She began removing her top and he held out his hand, laughing. “Y/N, darling. Rhodey should be here any moment.” She pouted again, hesitating. “As much as I would love that… those goods are for me, hmm?”
“Always,” she returned, straightening herself back out. She whined, “But why are you always having to work?”
“It’s not always. Don’t be overdramatic, kitten.”
“I can’t help it,” she grumbled.
Tony pushed his sunglasses down, peering at her over the top of them. “I’ll make it up to you. I bought a new toy.” She brightened at that and he grinned in response. “It’s sure to keep things fresh. Plus… I do owe you a night out, don’t I? Let’s make a date out of it.”
“Saddle Peak Lodge?” Tony’s brow furrowed and she shrugged. “I got bored, and I was looking at food places around here.”
“Sure. Whatever you want,” Tony said sincerely, taking another drink.
A song came on and she immediately smiled mischievously at him. “Oh, look, it’s our song.”
“Our song?” Tony asked, his lips upturned in a smirk.
She nodded.
He doesn't mind I have a Las Vegas past He doesn't mind I have a L.A. crass way about me He loves me, with every beat of his cocaine heart
“I’m even swimming and you’re watching,” she said, biting her bottom lip before pushing away from the side. She drug her eyes away from him before diving back underneath the water. Tony’s eyes followed her through the water, listening to the lyrics of the song she had deemed theirs. He would chase her all over town, that was for sure.
<><><>
On Tony’s laptop, Y/N’s location of her phone popped up. He saw it was in The Flats and his teeth gritted as he realized where she was.
“That’s Liam’s place,” Tony said out loud, in disbelief.
Liam had been her friend first, even though he was Tony’s employee. Liam was one of the guards at the escort service. And he was one of the highest paid of Tony’s employees there. He was good at what he did and also helped Tony dole out physical prowess on special assignments that needed it. But he had an admittedly soft spot for the girls in the service, Y/N especially when she was still working there. He had seen it himself, Liam making sure she was comfortable and giving her attention. It had made him jealous at first but when he realized Y/N had no interest in him, he had brushed it off. She was oblivious to his adoration, something Tony had actually found amusing when he realized it.
The fact she had decided to hole up with him and that Liam had actually agreed to it… Tony felt a huge flame of betrayal. He had treated Liam well, had he not? Why this backstabbing when it was clear as day Y/N was doing something wrong?
Happy asked from the front seat, “What did you say?”
Tony snapped, closing his laptop roughly, “She’s at Liam’s. That… fucking prick. Anything to try to get close to Y/N.” Tony chewed on his bottom lip and grabbed his phone again, his temper flared. He texted furiously. “Looks like someone is going to get a promotion tonight. And I’m losing one of my best because he couldn’t keep his dick in his pants.”
<><><>
Nine months ago…
Tony strolled in from the balcony, adjusting his sleeves. He had gone out for some air, leaving Y/N inside with the other Avengers. He spotted her sitting on one of the couches, Steve nearby. Steve was amused by whatever Y/N had said, his smile wide and her quickly explaining something. He made his way back over, coming to her side just as she finished.
“Cap,” Tony greeted him.
“Tony,” Steve returned, still laughing lightly.
Y/N was all smiles still. “You didn’t tell me Steve was so funny.”
“I didn’t know I had to. Rogers is usually the stick in the mud,” Tony quipped.
“She’s merely amused at my complete inept at cultural references,” Steve said, smiling warmly again in her direction.
“It’s actually quite embarrassing for him.” Y/N quipped, much to Steve’s amusement. “But we can forgive him. Just like we forgive you for your sarcastic jokes, Tony.” Y/N perked up and said, “You guys don’t have drinks. Let me fix that.”
She walked off and Steve leveled Tony with a look. Tony cocked his head, “What? You’re looking at me all self-righteously.”
“Is she…?”
Tony did not have to work hard at figuring out what Steve was trying to get at. He snorted at Steve’s prude response to her and being unable to outright ask if she was a prostitute. “Was,” Tony corrected. “Actually, worked for my service. She’s shaped up quite nicely, I would dare to say.”
Steve nodded in agreement, “She plays the part well. Charming. Polite.”
“What gave it away, pray tell?”
Steve snorted and said, “Honestly? She’s too pretty for you to be your wife.”
“I’ll take that as a compliment.”
“You shouldn’t.”
The two of them were sharing a laugh as Y/N walked back up.
“Plus, the service,” Steve said under his breath, seeing she was carrying two glasses for them specifically and none for herself.
“Quite the whole package,” Tony said in a normal volume and she looked at him expectantly as she held out the glasses to them. Tony merely leaned forward giving her a peck on her forehead. His arm snaked around her waist and brought her to his side. “She’s so well behaved.”
“Because that’s the only thing that matters,” Y/N replied teasingly, tapping him on the nose, earning a wide grin in response from him and a kiss.
<><><>
One leg hooked over your opposite knee, you settled back further on the couch cushions. Liam had fallen asleep further down the couch to a movie and you were speaking quietly on the phone to Xavier. “Yeah, I made it home. I just don’t understand—”
You yelped at the sound of the front door being kicked in down the hall. You scrambled, dropping the phone as Liam jumped up, half asleep still. He was looking around wildly and even in his confusion, threw himself in front of you, blocking you from direct line of the hall. You looked over your shoulder frightened, taking in the tall wall of windows.
When the first man walked from the hallway into the wide room, you relaxed, immediately recognizing him. Then reality hit you again and you realized the only reason he would be here. He was one of Tony’s and you knew what was at the end of this, your heart pounding with each one that walked in. The next three you recognized too.
Lastly, Tony came striding in and you exhaled shakily, releasing the breath you did not know you had even been holding in anticipation of him. You had not been on this side of his anger before and the mere sight of him was threatening. In his tailored jacket and slacks, his gleaming watch… he was everything the mob boss you knew put fear into other people’s hearts. He was here on business, not pleasure. His body was completely tense, his eyes focused in on Liam and you standing in the middle of the living room. You swallowed sharply, your resolve wavering under his ferocious gaze, cursing yourself internally for making him so mad.
No one was moving and time seemed suspended. The thing that drew you back to reality was Xavier was still trying to talk to you on the phone on the floor. You swept down to pick it up.
“I’ll call you back. It’s fine. Love you,” you told him quickly, before hanging up and tossing your phone beside you on the ledge. Tony’s jaw set at the last phrase uttered and you had said it without even thinking. It was not abnormal to say it to Xavier but now was definitely not the time. You informed him stiffly, “It’s my gay friend. You know. The one you think I slept with in Seattle? Who is not interested in pussy at all?” Tony was not saying anything, just glaring daggers through you, which further set you on edge. His men were standing at attention and your gaze swept over them before landing on him again. Maybe if you just went without a fight now, it would be okay. You rolled your eyes, trying to keep up the façade that you had not pressed him past his patience and everything was just going to pan out. “God, FINE. I’m coming! You didn’t have to be so dramatic.”
Tony held up a hand, stalling your movement, throwing you off balance. Your feet settled back on the ground, coming to a stop by Liam’s shoulder, waiting for his next movement. His gaze flicked to Liam, who was looking extremely uncomfortable.
“Who called who?” he asked in an eerily calm voice.
“W-what?” Liam stammered.
“Who. Called. Who?”
Liam shot you a look, nervous at being under Tony’s scrutinizing and threatening shadow. You gave him a slight nod and Tony noticed, his jaw clenching at the interaction. At the solidarity. You had a sinking feeling that was a huge misstep.
“She called me.”
“She called you,” Tony said slowly, eyes boring into you now.
There was jealously swimming in his eyes that you had called someone else – another man – instead of him. That had been your intention hadn’t it? To make him jealous. But now that it was coming to fruition, all you felt was dread. He tore his eyes away from you to look back at Liam.
“So, your first instinct wasn’t to, I don’t know, call me?” Tony asked. “Ask me if you should go picking my little, darling wife up from the airport?” Tony took a few steps closer, all swagger in his step. “That didn’t cross your mind, Liam?”
Liam admitted, nervousness apparent, “No, sir. I knew you were fighting.”
“You knew we were fighting.” Tony’s tone was condescending.
“Yes.”
“And what? You were just going to pick her up from the airport, bring her here. And then what?”
“She asked to stay the night. And she said she was going to leave in the morning. Early. 6am I think is the time she told me. So she could go back home to you.”
Tony threw you a taunting look, “Hmm, back to me. Seems like that’s what she’s been avoiding actually.” You opened your mouth, but he cocked his head, the playfulness from seconds ago again. You closed it. Tony directed at Liam, “Who employs you?”
“You, sir.”
“So, you would think it would behoove you to fall back on that relationship rather than catering to the wife. I mean, she’s not the one your indebted to, is she?”
“Tony, I—” you tried to cut in.
“Shut…” Tony said, his eyes not leaving Liam, his finger held up to you stiffly. “Your fucking mouth, Y/N. I’m not talking to you.”
“How many friends of yours have I killed?” Tony deadpanned at Liam. You did not like where this was going.
“Um, zero. I think,” Liam said, sweat visible on his forehead.
Tony narrowed his eyes slightly and looked back at one of his men. “Is that right? I haven’t killed any of the men at the service?” His eyes swept over his personal guards and they all shook their head. Tony’s eyes snapped back to Liam and he looked thoughtful. “Huh. That’s surprising. But…” he closed the space between the two of them and you had to admire that although Liam looked nervous, he did not back away. “Then again, none of them betrayed me like this.”
Before Liam could react, Tony’s arm lashed out and his hand closed in around his neck. Liam winced at Tony’s fingers digging into his windpipe, squeezing tightly. Tony yanked Liam close and hissed into his ear, “I know how you feel about her. I’ve seen it. And the fact you thought you could get her here… get a foot in—”
“That wasn’t it!” Liam interrupted nervously.
“You’re a terrible liar. And I’m sick of people lying to me,” Tony snarled, letting go of Liam roughly, causing him to lose his balance. Tony backed off from Liam and snapped in your direction. “Grab your shit, Y/N.” You faltered, apprehension freezing you to the spot. He suddenly shouted, “Now!”
That got you to jump to action.
As you grabbed your phone and your small bags, you heard movement behind you and whipped around in alarm. You screamed when the first hit was laid across Liam’s face. Tony had stepped back and his men had come forward.
Tony had a vice like grip on your arm, yanking you sideways back towards the hall.
“Tony!” you pleaded panicked, trying to look over your shoulder as he dragged you away at where Liam was surrounded by the four men, punch after punch laying into his face and body.
He stopped, jolting you. He forcibly turned you, so you could look back at the scene in the living room, pointing at it. “This is your fault,” he spat at you. He wrenched you to him, his breath hot on your face. His eyes were wild as he told you, “Next time, think about what you’re doing when you go around trying to piss me off. Because anyone that sees Liam’s face after this is going to do that thinking for you. No one is going to want to help you when you’re being a little brat!” His fingers dug in and you winced. “And your punishment hasn’t even started yet, kitten.”

Second Chance (Miraak x Reader) Part 2:
Y/n takes Miraak home with her in order to ensure his recovery.
Saying that the trek home was tiresome would’ve been an understatement. There was still a very high risk of him fainting, and I thanked the Divines that he didn't. Not only was this guy a giant, he was extremely heavy. And he was still relying on his own weight! I couldn't bare the thought of him becoming deadweight. If he did, I'd have to run home and fetch the horse! He was still in an abundance of pain. I might've healed most of his external injuries, but there was still some internal damage. "You did say that your home was not far from here, yes?" he asked through gritted teeth. "Don't worry, it's right past this clearing."
"... Why are you helping me?" The question puzzled me more than I expected. Why was I helping him? Judging from his outlandish appearance, he could've been a daedric prince in disguise! Either that or he was some sort of criminal. No normal person could receive a wound like that and live to tell about it. Everything about this man screamed shady, and yet here I was trying to save his life."I couldn't just leave you to bleed out by the road when I knew I could've done something to prevent it. You look scary, but I think your life was worth saving regardless," I informed, smiling softly at him. His dense brows quirked upward in surprise and a hint of amusement. "Then I owe you my gratitude."
"Don't owe me any gratitude, yet. You still need to be patched up, first." We were both more than pleased to see the cottage rolling into view. Elsbeth burst out the front door, hatchet in hand. "Y/n, what in Talos--?! Who is that?" she yelled. "I found him out by the road. Just help me bring him inside." I might've acted calm in that moment, but my head was spiralling in anxiety. Elsbeth hastily threw down the axe and helped provide some leverage.
When we finally made it inside, the three of us hobbled upstairs and into the guest room. We tried to sit him onto the bed as gently as we were able, but he ended up collapsing onto the mattress with a hard thud. In no time at all, he was fast asleep. Until now, I neglected to notice the weirdly-shaped sword strapped to his waist. I quickly removed it and propped it against the wall. Elsbeth watched in bafflement the whole time. "What in gods' names is going on?" she hissed, fearing that he'd hear her.
"I saw him on the ground while on my way to town. I couldn't just leave him there," I said simply. This caused her to only gawk further. "You're telling me you found this weirdo next to the road and up and decided to take him home??" While she was in the midst of trying to process it all, I began to cast another healing spell. "Look, I know how crazy this is. But he needs my help, El, and you know there aren't any good healers in Riverwood." The blonde huffed and crossed her arms, not wanting to tear her eyes away from his sleeping form. "Just don't let him bleed all over Pa's bed, got it?" With that, she strutted downstairs.
------------------------------------------------------------
Hours had trudged by, and I was still waiting eagerly his side. There were a number of things scattered about, such as empty potion bottles, bloody rags, and spell tones. By now, the deep crease between his brow had smoothed out and the only expression that remained was a peaceful one. I took some time to stand up, stretch, and and look out the window. It was late in the afternoon, for the sky emitted a gorgeous auburn color. My stomach churned at the thought of food, so I started my way into the kitchen. However, my actions were paused when I felt something grasp my wrist.
With one powerful tug, I stumbled backward. I didn't fall, thank goodness, but I could still feel the stranger's iron grip. I turned my gaze to him, sensing his distress. The look he gave me was flatout bizarre. He almost seemed scared. No, he looked terrified. "Are you... are you ok?" I asked while trying to brush aside the pain. "I," he started. He slowly sat up. "I don't know..."
"Was it a nightmare?" He stared at me in a small fit of awe and combed his fingers through his dark strands. He repeated the word with such bewilderment, I wondered if he had actually had a nightmare before. Upon realizing it, he released his deadly hold on my arm and said, “my apologies. It’s... been a long time.” I could feel my smug side begin to peek through. “A long time since what? Having a nightmare or touching a woman?” He cocked his head at me. “Aren’t you quite young to be speaking in such a manner?” he taunted subtly. The vein on my forehead began to throb. “I’ll have you know, I’m nineteen! I may look young but I’m very mature for my age.”
“Perhaps. I’m alive thanks to you, so maybe there is some maturity in there.” Something inside my chest flipped when he smiled at me for the first time. Maybe I was just tired.
------------------------------------------------------------
“I’m giving your mystery man a little extra. Who knows, maybe he’ll actually enjoy my cooking unlike a certain someone,” teased Elsbeth, handing me two bowls of soup. I laughed mockingly at her. “If he dies, I’m blaming it on you.”
I returned to the bedroom and placed his bowl in his lap. "Be warned, this food might look yummy but it's quite the opposite." He didn't reply. He only swirled his spoon through the hot, soupy liquid. I watched as he finally lifted the spoon to his mouth and slurped quietly. "You don't have to pretend to like it. It takes a lot to hurt my sister's feelings--"
The man discarded my comment by completely devouring his meal. He tipped his head back and tapped the bottom of the bowl with his palm, not leaving behind any scraps. I merely sat there in an abundance of shock. What shocked me even more was when he said, "I would like some more." I took his empty bowl and replaced it with my own. "You do not want any?" He made it sound as if I was the weird one. "Uhh, no! You look like you need it more than I do," I chuckled nervously. He ultimately shrugged off my response and finished his second helping with ease
When he was finished eating, I propped my elbows against my knees. "You know, my brain's been so preoccupied, I forgot to introduce myself." I lent my hand out to him, beckoning for a shake. "My name is Y/n." He exchanged glances between me and my polite gesture. After a few cautious seconds, he enveloped his hand around my own firmly. "It's nice to meet you, Y/n."
"And this is the part where you tell me your name," I laughed. I noticed his brow begin to furrow as his eyes fell to the bedsheets. "I'm afraid that I cannot tell you my name," he confessed in obvious distaste. I tilted my head at him, clearly puzzled by his odd character, though I refused to ask him why. "Well, I have to call you something. How about Bjorn, for now?"
"Bjorn?" he pondered. "Yeah, I think it suits you quite well. It was my pa's name, so don't go dishonoring him." Almost immediately, I could feel his curiosity blossom. "Where is he now? Did he die?" I choked on air at his abruptness. "Wow, you really don't beat around the bush, do you?" I laughed. "He used to be an adventurer and he was almost always gone. He taught Elsbeth and I how to look after ourselves properly. We never thought we needed it, but then one day, he never came home."
"I see. And your mother?" A small hint of resentment bubbled inside my chest at the mention of her. "She ran off with another man when I was young." It was funny that this suspicious stranger was the one asking me questions. "What about you? Do you have any family?" I asked. He grew somewhat lost in thought at my words. "Yes, I did at one time... but they have been gone for many, many years." I pursed my lips. "Have you ever heard of the legend of Miraak?" he began. My face gleamed with excitement. "I love that story! My father used to tell it to us when we were little, though my sister was too afraid to listen."
"And you weren't? He was a monster, you know." I pressed my index finger against my chin as I pondered. "I guess in a way, I sort of pity him. In truth, I think the story's sad. I mean, I can't imagine what he felt after all of the things that happened to him... but I've always had a soft spot for villains--" My words were cut short when he cupped his hand over my own. "Sorry, it's just that I can't help but agree," he murmured.
"Haha! You really are an odd one aren't you?"
That night, the two of us talked for hours. I could hardly keep my eyes open, and yet I so desperately wanted to stay awake with him. My head rested against my forearms as I continued to fight off the urge to sleep. At least I wasn't the only one exhausted. Bjorn was slumped against the headboard, his head lulling occasionally. "Strange. It's been such a long time... since I've felt this tired," he muttered softly. In a matter of seconds, we both drifted off into a comfortable darkness.

Quiet
Dry humping with Seungcheol request from @jiyoungiejae
Warnings: uh, mostly a tad bit of public play
About 1.5k
“So, what movie do you guys want to watch?” You asked softly. Your fingers brushed over the selection of dvds that you had to offer, wondering which movie would end up preoccupying the rest of your night.
Tonight was a special night because tonight Seungcheol had brought a handful of his friends over to meet you for the first time. You and Seungcheol had only really been dating for a few months, but it felt like a lifetime with the way that Seungcheol treated you.
You had met his parents, been on more dates then you could count, celebrated a different anniversary every week- Your friends thought it was annoying and were quick to write it off as a “prolonged honeymoon phase” but neither of you minded what anyone else had to say.
When your fingers were intertwined with Seungcheol’s all that mattered was him- having him close, holding him tight, and being there with him.
You knew that his friends meant a lot to him, and you knew that you had to leave a really good impression on them when you met them. You could tell by the way that his fingers would freeze over his phone when you asked when you would get to meet the famous Boo Seungkwan and experience one of his infamous impressions that it was going to be a really big step in you two’s relationship.
Your friends claimed it was a jealousy thing.
“All boys are pigs,” they would remind you. “And Seungcheol is the same. He’s just afraid you’ll cheat on him.”
But you could see it in his eyes when he talked about his friends. They meant everything to him. He wasn’t holding you close. He was holding them close. If you didn’t all hit it off perfectly then his heart would be completely and utterly shattered.
“Let’s watch a classic Korean horror movie,” Jun suggested. He crouched down beside you and pointed out one of the disks in your collection. “What about White: Melody of Death?”
“A horror movie about kpop idols?” Jeonghan asked with an unimpressed roll of his eyes.
“An amazing horror movie about kpop idols,” you corrected him pulling out the disc. You turned your body towards the boys and held up the cover:
“Girl group “Pink Dolls” is always pushed into the background by other popular idols. When the girls release their new song “White”, a remake from unknown origins they become instant sensations.”
You wiggled your eyebrows in suggestion at what horrors the movie could hold- an action that made Jihoon snicker.
“Where did you find this one again?” He asked, nudging Seungcheol in the side. Seungcheol laughed and wandered over to you, taking the disc out of your hands.
“Sounds to me like you guys are just afraid to watch a good horror movie.”
This time it was Wonwoo’s turn to laugh. He crossed his arms over his chest and sat back on your couch.
“Too scared huh?” He asked you softly. “What a strong threat for us four men who are very commonly threatened by such an empty attack on our egos. Please, play the movie.”
Wonwoo’s robotic tone made you giggle and made the other boys all laugh as well. Seungcheol’s face pinkened a little bit, but he handed you the dvd back.
“But the movie in, it’s been decided,” he insisted.
You discovered only a few minutes into the movie why his friends had been so teasing about a horror movie. Seungcheol was clearly terrified of them.
He made a big show, brushing his fingers through his hair when a scene got eerie, and laughing when someone in the movie would laugh, but it was pretty clear to you that he was mortified. He jumped at every jump scare, closed his eyes when he thought something scary might happen, and was holding your hand way too tightly for him to not be terrified.
So, you decided pretty early on that to help distract him from the horrors that were unfolding on the screen in front of you, you would climb onto his lap. You thought maybe just maybe if he was focused on you, he wouldn’t mind the horror.
The minute that you climbed onto his lap you felt Seungcheol’s body tense up. He reached forward- gently placing his hands on your shoulders and let his lips brush your ears.
“What are you doing baby?” The nickname made a shiver run through your body, but you reminded yourself to stay focused on the task at hand. You were just trying to distract Seungcheol from the movie that was all. No need to suddenly get distracted by him yourself.
But on a totally separate topic when had it gotten so hot?
“Nothing,” you whispered back innocently.
You were surprised when you felt Seungcheol’s fingers ghosting over your hips. You felt his cool fingertips dip under your shirt, and he tightened his grip on you to pull you firmer against his body. As he did you felt his boner straining against his pants- making your cheeks turned bright red.
“Seems like you’re doing something,” Seungcheol murmured back.
His fingers slid further into your pants, until they met your clit. Your body jolted under Seungcheol’s touch, but he paid little to no mind to it as he began to rub your bundle of nerves in slow circles.
You glanced to your side and tried to garner what the boys around you were doing.
Everyone was focused on the movie- Well everyone but Jeonghan who was preoccupied with his phone. But no one really seemed to be paying attention to what you and Seungcheol were doing.
You knew it would be a terrible first impression if they caught you two fooling around the first time that you all hung out together, but you also knew that if Seungheol was even risking getting caught that meant one good thing had come out of tonight. You must’ve made a great impression on his friends.
“Seungcheol,” you hissed. “We shouldn’t be doing this.”
Even as you spoke you were placing your hands on Seungcheol’s thighs. It was an awkward position, but you slowly began to grind your hips down on Seungcheol’s bulge. It made his motions on your clit stop and he suppressed a surprised moan in your shoulder.
Once he had taken a second to breath, his nose brushed your neck.
“You don’t sound like you’re complaining,” he murmured. “And I didn’t tell you to stop.”
Seungcheol’s words ran right through you to your core. You felt yourself burning at the promise that was behind his tone of voice. You tightened your fingers around Seungcheol’s thighs and rolled your hips down on his again. It sent another shock through your body and you almost let a moan fall from your lips.
You bit down on your bottom lip and slowly turned your body so that you were facing Seungcheol.
Again, you nervously let your eyes wander around the room. The boys were all still watching the movie, their eyes focused solely on the screen and the screams of bloody murder. You swallowed hard and let your eyes find Seungcheol’s again.
You began to grind your hips more purposefully down on Seungcheol, which made his head fall back in pleasure. You didn’t need his voice to encourage you that you were doing good. Instead you quickened your pace, chasing your pleasure without a second thought.
You momentarily forgot what has happening around you. You forgot the boys, and the movie. All you thought about was Seungcheol and how badly you wanted him to touch you, how good it felt to have him let you use his body like this- to roll your hips down on him and-
You let your head fall forward onto his shoulders, a broken call of Seungcheol’s name leaving your lips, and Seungcheol didn’t need any other indicators as to what to do.
He tightened his grip on your hips and began to roll your hips down on his bulge hard. You felt his fingers tightened and a quiet: “Oh” leave his mouth, which threw you right over the edge as well. You squeezed his shoulders hard as you tried to keep your pants as you came quiet enough that no one could hear, but as you were cumming you felt motion beside you.
“Oh my god,” Jihoon grumbled. Your eyes widened when you realized that he wasn’t watching the movie anymore- but instead was looking right at you and Seungcheol. You felt a burn crawl up your next and you turned around in Seungcheol’s lap- burying your face in his neck. “You two really had to do that right here?”
“What?” Seungcheol’s innocent words meant nothing as all of the boys suddenly let out groans of disgust.
“Seungcheol,” Jun admonished. Even Wonwoo sounded disgusted. You peeked out from Seungcheol’s body to risk a glance at Jeonghan- which only left you slightly more horrified.
“You could have invited us to join as well,” he commented. Even more disgusted groans filled the room, and you felt Seungcheol wrap his arm around you hugging you tight against him- but despite the possessive action a laugh erupted from his body.
“Not likely,” he laughed. “But try again next time.”

“You’re so good for me.”
