ahh thank you so much for the compliment on my recent response for the mc monday prompt! ♡♡ mephistopheles gets written off as a jerk, but in-game he's done nothing but own up to his obliviousness & he's on par with solomon tbh!! both in magic & emotional stability, but mephi seems to have a lot more common sense?
he hasn't had a burger before but when met with "you haven't had one before??!?!" from belphie he goes "yeah, i haven't had one before. why are they so cheap?? will the vendors be able to sustain themselves with this much money..."
in the ssr memory card for the cyberverse event, levi said something like, "you've never played this kind of vr game before??" "no, i haven't. can either of you teach me?" and in one of the hard mode URs, he admits that he hasn't been to an arcade before and he just. began excitedly looking around but in the way where it was as if he was looking around a museum & when he got into the photo booth with mc, beel, & raphael, he told mc that he was just copying the way they were smiling so the picture would turn out better (as a way of cultural appreciation) (´;ω;`)
i have SO much to say about my mc; she does have a name! and it starts with an "A"~ i enjoy putting up a mystery as to why i gave her the title of "godtongue" because that name alone is a gateway into her lore. this includes,
a separate reality, a separate universe, spiritual descendants from said universe amongst 13 siblings (including my mc), a curse involving sorcerers' magic consuming sorcerers & turning them into banished denizens of darkness, portals that act as bridges that have since been corrupted & filled with chaotic space,
and other things. SKJDNVKDS
i'm curious...! why did you want to give her a hug? is it because of the opening scene + the last few lines of the fic? :o
WHY IS MEPHISTOPHELES SO??? (holds him) i want to experience the wonders of vr gaming & eating burgers with him.. ><
he seems super straightforward but also extremely out of place/confused to me... & just like you said, low-key reminds me of the way solomon is treated. i can't wait to get to the lessons where he's introduced just so i can get to know more about him he sounds exactly like my type of character.!!
ALSO I WAS LITERALLY GONNA ASK U ABT HER NAME & ORIGINS bc my first thought was "oh is she trans and decided to give herself the funkiest name she could think of?" i will now think of sorcery related names that start with an A to guess what it could be....
i am also incredibly invested in her original reality now... is it this curse that was weighing on her mind in that story? i'm gonna reread it after learning this information 😭
also as for Why i wanted to give her a hug: definitely the last part!! the first paragraph / her internal monologue if i remember correctly (?) made me want to talk to just talk to her and ask her if she's okay and the last paragraph just reinforced that and made me want to just give her a big ol' hug!!!!!! she deserves all the love ever <3

bro talk to me about kobra kid. anything. give me
KOBRA. MY BOY.
here's some general headcanons ive got for him
overall pretty quiet but damn he is a very physical, very angry person if he's upset (and he is always at least mildly pissed off, may be projecting oh no)
autistic and wears sunglasses a lot bc bright sun is godawful (not great to live in a bright ass desert but oh well)
so much bottling up of emotions oh my gOD kobra please talk to people
TALK TO POISON YOU DUMBASS
twins w party poison (though poison does not know this, their memory prior to 13 is entirely gone bc of BLi. which is another reason why they need to talk lmao)
he loves to feel emotions dialed up to 10 bc his emotions were so heavily dampened down when he was on BLi's medication
ANGRY
trans but everyone is so u already knew that
not a great biker but it's very fun so he does it a lot
gets in a lot of crashes bc of the above point oh no
loves making random little gadgets
his crowning achievement is the vend-a-hack which very nearly got broken the first day he tried to use it (also happened to be the day he met ghoul, yes those two events are related, yes it is the way you'd think but not in the way you'd probably guess)
loves his sibling a lot :(
loves his crewmates a lot :(
loves the girl SO MUCH :(
likes to think he's punk rock/hardcore. he is not, this bitch is SCENE as fuck (kk: im punk, im punk!! pp: you fucking WISH you were punk!)
not the best at hugs but he's trying
LOVES to tackle people
kobra Kid 🤝 fun ghoul -> tackling people out of affection
he and ghoul will literally play wrestle all the fuckin time
likes to whistle a lot
will literally whistle or hum in response to most questions (aaaahhhhh projecting)
switches between talking and signing a lot
very sweet w his family <3
here's some backstory
saw party poison get taken away in front of him when he was 13. he didn't shed a single tear and even though his whole body was screaming, he couldn't let out a sound
despite how muddled his head was and how many times he got in trouble, he kept trying to find people to get information on where his sibling could be
eventually got to a point where he just wanted to escape. so he ran out of battery city in a t shirt and shorts (the desert's hot right??) and a few important things that he could carry in his pockets
among this was a polaroid picture of him and party from when party had found an illegal camera. it has two words written on the back in poison's sloppy attempt at cursive: "my brother!" this means a lot bc it was the first time poison called him brother (they took the photo like right after he came out)
he also has a small cd player with one single cd: ¡viva la cobra! also a gift from his sibling
so he attempts to escape through a gate w/o alerting the drac guards but he does anyway
ends up running from them and gets shot in the lower leg and grazed on the arm in a strange, snake-like pattern because of how he was limping
makes it out into the desert in the middle of the night, in a t shirt and shorts, bleeding from one leg and one arm so hurt he can hardly move it without screaming
so, not knowing any better, he wanders directly along route guano hoping to find some semblance of civilization. the desert's supposed to be teeming with killjoys according to BLi isn't it??
eventually collapses along the road, shivering, in withdrawal, and also having lost a fuck ton of blood
after who knows how long, he hears motors and hopes for the best
it's the worst
a drac patrol comes careening across the sand, kicking up dust and headed straight for him
but he realizes they aren't coming for him; they're running from someone else (as evident by the lasers arcing over their heads and occasionally hitting them)
and a band of killjoys also come down the road and take down the dracs right in front of kobra
once the dust has both literally and metaphorically settled, the group notices kobra sitting dazed in the sand, propped up against a rock trying to brace against the cold
a very nice killjoy in a red jacket who can't be more than a year or two kobra's senior goes over to him and gives him their jacket as the rest of their crew calls someone called "cherri" on their radio
kobra later gets to properly meet this killjoy and learns their name is jet star
after what feels like hours, the killjoy group finally decided they've got to get moving and they'll have to leave kobra to wait for cherri. kobra's not sure why they're in such a hurry, but they're not going to be able to wait with him for cherri cola to show up
so they let him know what cherri looks like, tell him to hide out nearby where they told cherri he was at, and wish him luck as they all speed off on their motorcycles
kobra's not sure how much time passes before he hears yet another engine roaring up route guano
he sees a dull green truck come rumbling over the hill, but doesn't see the person until the truck is on the road right next to his hiding place
when the guy that seemed to pretty well match the other 'joys description steps out of the truck, kobra fumbles up to his feet, entirely forgetting his injuries for a moment
man, this bitch falls flat on his fucking face and is just out cold
cherri is, as you would imagine, extremely concerned and very quickly gets this kid back to the dj shack where he can fix up his wounds and hopefully keep the poor kid from dying then and there
but he lives so fuck yeah! and cherri takes him in, so he lives at the djs shack for a while before meeting the rest of the four
that's as far as i'll go for his backstory lmao agndvsjsvsh i just have many thoughts abt poor kobra just trying his best to escape and failing in every aspect short of dying

fuck it. walten files headcanons.
note: these are merely my hcs and i might be wrong on some of these as the series goes on. also some of these are kinda spoiler-ish so i guess watch the series before you read if you want?? idk
- sophie is the eldest of the walten children, and is older than her siblings by quite a few years. they’re both still alive, but she doesn’t really keep in regular contact with them and hasn’t seen either of them in quite a while.
- sophie’s natural hair color isn’t brown, it’s actually black. she dyes her hair bc if she doesn’t, then she looks way too much like her dad and she just. Doesn’t Wanna Think About That.
- jack is around 6′4″, sophie is 6′0″ (girl got the tall gene from her dad), rosemary is 5′7″, and felix is a solid 5′8″.
- susan woodings and kevin w. are related. i like to think she’s his aunt.
- bon and sha have two different dynamics. on the stage, bon and sha act more or less like a romantic couple. it’s more subtle than anything and it’s never made explicit (bc ya don’t wanna make the kids feel weird abt it, ya know?), but it’s There if you pay attention. meanwhile, in the cartoon (and other bsi-related media), sha is more of a mother figure to bon
- when coming up with designs for the characters, jack asked felix if sophie and her two (as of rn unnamed) siblings could provide input bc what better way to find out what kids like than to ask kids, ya know?
- sometimes when jack got really angry, he’d just. smile. this has not at all changed since his death (in fact, it’s gotten more frequent).
- speaking of things that have gotten worse since his death, jack had a little bit of a possessive streak when he was alive. he kept it under wraps (and under control) so it wouldn’t hurt rosemary or the kids (or his very few friends), but like it was still There. he just didn’t act on it. after death, it’s consumed him. the promise of his family being His And Only His again is the only thing that’s keeping him going now, even if he has to kill them for that to happen.
- felix’s wife was a photographer. she’s the one who took that 1974 founders photo.
- felix and his wife were sophie and her siblings’ god-parents.
- sophie doesn’t really like felix or respect him, honestly, and she never really has either (despite knowing him her entire life). her siblings had always liked him, even calling him “uncle felix” (i mean. sophie did, too, but it was just to be polite), but sophie just kind of acknowledged his existence (and vice versa) and that was the extent of their relationship. she didn’t start actively disliking him, however, until 1974 rolled around. after rosemary disappeared, felix pretty much just cut off sophie and her siblings. no letters, no words of comfort, no offers to let them stay at his place while things get sorted out, not even a phone call. nothing. like yeah she understands that they’re not his kids, so he’s not required to help them out, but damn you’d think that someone who’s literally known you your entire life would at least pretend to give a shit.
- rosemary never really liked or trusted felix either tbh. she always thought he was sleazy in that used car salesman kinda way, and part of her even felt like felix was using jack. but he was also jack’s best friend, and while jack could be rather naïve at times, he had very good judgment for the most part. and besides, felix’s wife was a delight to talk with. so she pushed her feelings down and just tried to tolerate felix’s existence in her and her children’s lives. that all changed after june 11, 1974, however. rosemary almost believed felix’s story (that jack had been making allusions to either running away or even taking his own life) at first, but when felix went ahead with opening the restaurant, it immediately destroyed what little trust she had in him and made him suspect #1 in her eyes.

While i was rifling thru your fic tag like a half-starved raccoon in a cake tin I found your clone Damian's fic & i'm in LOVE! And like, do u hav anymore meta on that verse? like how do the rest of the fam find out? how do they REACT?! how does Damian? does the heretic clone still exist? Just reading abt tim with a bunch of tiny dami's gave me heart palpitations. Thank you for this gift.
(In reference to this post.)
Why thank you!
It’s vaguely inspired by some meta @cerusee and @audreycritter did about what if Damian was one of several identical clones, but I’ve been fascinated by the character potential suggested by Damian having been cloned since Talia first revealed it, so.
Let’s see.
I don’t think the Heretic still exists, not in the form we saw. This story fragment sort of assumes Talia went less crazy than they made her for the whole Leviathan storyline; she doesn’t regard the clones as sons the way she does Damian (she totally relied on cloning to get him perfectly matched organ replacements, like that spine) but she’s not “sons are born to die in battle” “let’s grow him big inside a WHALE” levels of whacked out.
She hasn’t fully committed to having them compete to be selected as the official Damian #2, either, because she’s still attached to the original, though the growing prospect of that was a lot of the reason they ran for it. One of them might have wound up as the Heretic, in another timeline? But it was a timeline that diverged long before they fled the League.
So they make it to Tim’s emergency van without being intercepted, and get as far as his secure site on city limits, but they have to fight their way through the last leg of that trip and to make it inside the bunker, and it’s supplied for a siege but not really big enough for eight people, even if seven of them are small, and also staying there and being besieged would draw the attention of the Bats, which defeats the whole purpose of not making for the Cave/calling reinforcements.
So he calls his friends for extraction, and they all wind up in Kansas.
Tim puts off contacting the family until the clones have with his guidance sorted out exactly how they want to present themselves.
Unfortunately, the last stage of the ninja battle was showy enough not to be overlooked, so his absence was noticed much sooner than he expected, and regarded as more worrying. On the second day Dick calls Kon to see if he knows where Tim’s gotten to, and Kon fails to lie adequately.
Dick can’t pressure Kon as easily as he can most people because last time he asked Kon for a favor Kon came to the North Pole and died for him.
Which is the kind of thing even Nightwing isn’t veteran enough not to take seriously.
But he still calls his bluff and asks a bunch of questions, and winds up very suspicious and worried, so at this point Tim and the Damians have to hurry up and figure out how to announce the situation or go on the run from the Bats as well as the League, which would be. Not smart.
Tim explains the situation over videochat with the Cave before having the cloneboys join him on the feed; this spares them the worst of the yelling.
Bruce, Dick, and Damian all respond pretty badly. Bruce because he doesn’t like change and he’s reflexively suspicious, and having eight Damians to raise is a justly horrifying notion. Also anti-clone prejudice. It’s unfortunately an established trait of his, though not like. A strong one.
Dick because he’s really defensive of Damian, and perceives this first and foremost as an emotional threat to his bab’s fragile identity.
Damian because he knows exactly how he was raised to react to someone being in a place he wants, and he knows how many opportunities his father’s household policies gave him to take shots at Tim, and they may be six years old but there are seven of them. He is going to die.
All things considered, Damian’s being the most rational here.
He’s wrong though. The clones were raised as disposable ninjas, not princes; they’re perfectly well aware killing him would gain them nothing, and they have very little sense of entitlement.
Bruce and Dick do try to be nice to the kids once it’s finally settled they will be staying at the Manor at least for a bit, because they need to be somewhere safe and Bruce can’t leave them at Clark’s house forever. Even Ma Kent has her limits.
But Bruce blows bewilderingly hot and cold and Dick kind of makes a point of of not being too warm to them, because he’s loyal to his demon brat. Damian starts staying at his place a lot and consequently working with Nightwing instead of Batman.
Bruce has no idea what to do about this or if he even should do something. Damian’s thirteen, right? Teenagers are supposed to rebel??? This is a pretty harmless way to do that?
But he misses him.
This does lead to making more time for the Seven Identical Six-Year-Olds.
Their sense of morality revolves around having made the breakthrough to valuing on another’s lives; they aren’t as opposed to not-murder as Damian was but they’re also a lot harder to coax into seeing things his way because they don’t need as much from him, emotionally.
This makes them ironically less terrifying for Bruce, even if he’s still having trouble actually bonding with them the way he normally does with his kids.
Barbara meanwhile is cautious. She always takes a while to warm up to new people, and she doesn’t have Tim’s history with clones to get her over that speedbump. She tries very hard to be fair, but she’s not really welcoming. She’s Reserving Judgment.
Jason thinks this is the funniest thing ever and goes out of his way to tease Damian about it. Privately he’s super creeped out, but as that wears off he starts getting mad about Bruce and Dick making the kiddos feel unwelcome and at some point does a rant, and after that is vaguely protective in a useless sort of way.
He enjoys being a bad influence. The septuplets also enjoy this. They think he’s funny, too, and he’s easier to communicate with than most people around here. Achieves a fairly high tier on the Favorite Non-Clone Brother list they aren’t exactly keeping.
Cass is super about these kids. She can relate to them even more than to Damian, because they weren’t raised as heirs to anything and don’t have the sneering put-down form of pride going, and also she’s actually around to meet them at the crucial getting-to-know-you stage.
She thinks sparring one-on-seven is an excellent sibling bonding activity. There are assassin-child puppy piles once they’re all worn out. Many photos are taken.
She’s doing much better than Bruce at getting them to extend their nascent sense of empathy beyond one another, without actually making an effort. It’s not like they’re actually much behind their cohort when it comes to social development, they’ve just got murder conditioning flattening their affective empathy. (And are ahead of cohort intellectually, which contributes a lot to the dissonance.) Cass’ accidental therapy involves butterflies.
Tim continues to be around, a lot more than he has been for a while because he’s kind of obligated to see this through. The septuplets trust him, which is more than they do anybody else for a while, so he winds up with a lot of childcare duties.
Since this amounts to ‘showing them where to find soap’ and ‘being in their vicinity’ rather than i.e. brushing their teeth for them and making sure they don’t steal each others’ snacks, he’s fairly okay with this.
Sizdahum sticks especially close, which is fine because he’s not a big talker; he winds up getting a lot of absent lessons on detective work.
Tim gets yelled at for having murder scene photos open in front of him; both of them and Haftum, who happens to be there at the time, roll their eyes a lot throughout.
Tim’s friends also visit the Manor a few times specifically to visit the kids, since they already met them. At one point the Damian clones, Tim, Kon, Wonder Girl Cassie, and due to rumor mill Anita, Cissie, and Greta all have a picnic in a rare afternoon of sunshine on the Manor grounds.
Alfred packed the picnic so it has ludicrously expensive cheese, a fruit salad featuring freshly pitted cherries, and thermoses of milkshakes in the favorite flavors of everyone who got one, even the ones he’s never met before. In response to this bounty Anita threatens to come to visit every time she can get babysitters for her parents.
Then she considers introducing her parents to the clone kids. They’re turning out almost as weird, even if in theory they don’t remember their previous lives. We’ll see how that turns out.
Bruce got used to how all his sons’ friends know his secret identity over a decade ago, it’s…fine.
Steph thinks they’re creepy but she’s far enough from ground zero to laugh about it, especially about their occasional appearances as Tim’s row of ducklings, and also she trusts Cass’ judgment.
Everyone does, to a certain extent; it helps the septuplets’ cause incredibly over the course of the first few weeks. It wins Alfred off the fence about them after about three days, which is quite a coup; even before that he was fast catching up with Tim in the ‘learning the differences between the septuplets’ sweepstakes.
(Cass is the only one who can even semi-reliably tell them all apart if they’re not wearing their nametags, or catch them switching, but learning things like their individual preferences in weaponry or cake is arguably much more important.)
Speaking of names, it’s a difficult issue. Bruce would (with considerable angst and self-doubt) be willing to name them all if asked, and they’d probably be open to it if he offered, but they’re not quite comfortable naming themselves and he’s too insecure and weirded-out to suggest anything else.
The other members of the family are varying degrees of not okay with the numbering system. Steph’s main issue with it is she has trouble remembering them precisely, because she doesn’t speak Farsi and learning seven unfamiliar similar-sounding words at the same time doesn’t play to her strengths.
Damian has a tendency to call them by their numbers in English, which only some of the clones actually mind but it offends the hell out of Bruce.
The necessity of keeping them secret until they have actual public-ready names and a story has been settled on wears on everyone’s nerves a bit. The issue that there exists no story more believable than the actual extremely weird truth stands in the way.
Barbara actually crafts an entire cover about rescuing the products of an illegal cloning operation by people planning an overly complicated ransom scheme for Damian, and Bruce going ‘well dammit they’re my kids too,’ which doesn’t get deployed for a while because:
1) everyone’s still hunting for something a little less weird and
2) they have to review the entire body of legal precedent relating to clones to make sure this won’t put the kids in jeopardy down the line or undermine Bruce’s chances of getting custody somehow.
Meanwhile, Bruce absolutely forbids the clone squad from getting involved in vigilante fighting. Because they are six. They’re not quite on house arrest but they have strict supervision and a curfew. They mostly accept this; they’re used to discipline and they did come here for refuge.
He tries to take away all their live weapons. Because they are six. This fails to stick. It threatens to become a serious bone of contention.
Cass, Tim, and Damian (somewhat unwillingly) wind up having to broker the issue; explaining to Bruce that the kids think he suspects them of plotting murder, and to the kids that Bruce doesn’t think they can be trusted not to hurt themselves with sharp objects is. Fraught. On all sides.
Why does Bruce never get any kids for whom normal responsible parenting guidelines are fully applicable?

Press Release:
1. These sculptures are tools.
Some artists begin with an idea or an opinion, and use it to make an artwork—first comes the meaning, then comes the object. But for Vincent Fecteau, ideas never work. His sculptures don’t come as a result of an idea but are the tools he uses in his attempt to generate ideas and make meaning.
He begins with an initial impulse or desire (the specific trigger quickly becomes irrelevant) and proceeds by folding, cutting, twisting, trimming, adding, leveling, scraping off, smoothing out, carving away, turning over, twisting back, and adding again. He ties knots into other knots. Bit by bit, he locates the sharpest edges of whatever emerges—the parts of an object that cut into meaning in a way that makes ideas nervous or that puts them on alert. Eventually, each sculpture is wound up until it can’t be made any tighter, sharpened until it can’t be made any sharper, and it is released into the wild, perhaps to become a tool for other people as well.
2. These sculptures are abstract.
Everything is abstract. By which I mean—a thick sludge of matter, energies, and consciousness is all there really is, at the end of the day. And these sculptures are simply tools that try to access the abstract. They work at getting a bit closer to it, maybe even to stick their toes in it, to get dirty with it. Fecteau doesn’t invent an abstract form as much as he learns how to find one.
These sculptures don’t believe in distinguishing the abstract from the really real. Abstraction is not a chosen style or a composition but is deeply human—it’s about the lived experience of locating and co–existing with it. Any other artwork, be it a figurative painting or a realistic photograph, is just as abstract as Fecteau’s, only differently so.
That said, these sculptures aren’t anchored to the world by being connected to a recognizable topic, message, or, worse, an instruction for how to think or what to believe. Instead, they communicate by speaking a language art is particularly good at—that of arranged shapes, colors, textures, intuitions, and intentions. I decided not to approach content directly, but to trust that it would follow me as I moved around the room. (Fecteau).
3. These sculptures are made by Vincent Fecteau.
Fecteau grew up on Long Island, went to Wesleyan, studied painting, interned with Hannah Wilke for a summer, didn’t like New York that much.He took time off from college and moved to San Francisco in 1990 to work with ACT UP. He worked as a studio assistant to Nayland Blake for a few years, handpainted ceramics, and ended up as a florist. He had his first show in 1994, consisting mostly of photo–collages of cats. When Blake decamped for the East Coast, Fecteau took over his apartment and has been making his handcrafted sculptures ever since. When I asked him what he was reading these past few months, he mentioned Now the Night Begins, a novel written by the French filmmaker Alain Guiraudie (Stranger by the Lake). He lives near Balboa Park in the Mission Terrace neighborhood. There is a great painting by Tomma Abts in his kitchen. He bikes everywhere.
4. These sculptures are necessary.
Like practically any other work of art, these sculptures are made by someone who needs to make them. The question is not to ask how Fecteau makes them but why he makes them. The answer, always, is somewhat embarrassing or humiliating, since the sculptures end up saying more about the artist than anything else. They reveal too much, because all self–portraits reveal too much. In all they say about his achievements and capabilities, they say just as much about his limitations. They contain his secrets.
But these objects also embody the contradictions that all of us are: they appear calm yet agitated, exposed but also secretive, fully formed but still formless.
5. These sculptures are traps.
Vince sends me a Youtube link. It’s a talk by the artist Don Potts, from 1981.
You go to that feeling, you work on the trap, the trap sucks the feeling in, makes the feeling a little bit more concrete, you go back to the trap, you get rid of the junk, you build a more pure version, you go back to the feeling, and you just go back and forth. And over the course of the whole process, you start sucking this thing in, sucking this thing in—the trap is starting to catch it.(…) And then, one part of this trap becomes very important. No fussing around in this area. Other areas, you know, there’s some glue hanging off it, or maybe an inch too big, it’s not important. (…) What you’re trying to catch is something you’ve never had your hands on. It’s subtler than you can think, than your awareness can comprehend. So the trap has to be subtler than any trap you’ve ever made. You can’t use old trap–making techniques. It will just get you so far, but it won’t take you that last step, to catch that thing. So you’re all alone, well not all alone, mom is always around, [laughter], but you can’t go to history books, you can’t go to past work, you have to just respond to what it is you’re trying to catch. And it gets incredibly exciting. (…) At the last moment, when you put the last touches on the trap, something will happen. It’s not a trap anymore, it is what you’ve been trying to catch. This thing becomes that awareness or that idea, or whatever—you can’t talk about these things with words, you know. And there it is. And you look at it. And there have been times when I’ve just, you know, cried. Not, you know, going– to–lie–down–on–the–bed crying, [laughter] but emotion will just pour out of my eyes. (Don Potts)
6. These sculptures are leaps of faith.
The painter Agnes Martin talked about surrendering the intellect. For many, to allow experience to precede cognition is a scary proposition. It puts us in a vulnerable place—walls need to be down, filters off. But what is art about if not vulnerability? Clicking back to Don Potts: you need to be working right at that bottom edge of your nervous system.
Fecteau never draws and never makes preliminary sketches—he jumps right in.When he makes a cut into a shape, he can’t click undo but can only allow consequences to determine his next set of decisions. There is no safety net. It’s like when you delete that sentence you’ve become really attached to, even though you don’t yet know what will replace it. These sculptures don’t know, they believe.
These sculptures are made the way kids build backyard spaceships, with meticulous attention to detail, a grudging respect for the trash he works with, and no real hope of re–creating what he sees when he closes his eyes. (Dennis Cooper)
7. These sculptures are new.
Even if they resemble others that came before it. They were made all at once, as a group, over the period of a year and a half. Decisions have migrated from one to another, making them siblings, of sorts—related but self–sufficient. They are made of carved foam, painted papier–mâché, and bits of resin clay. Some 3–D scanning and a 5–axis CNC router were also involved at one point in the process, which, for the artist, has been an experiment.
8. These sculptures are evidence.
These sculptures are the physical traces of a desire, an intention, or an impulse. They provide evidence of personal and material limitations. They capture the artist’s present state of mind, putting it on display for all to see.
They are also evidence of a battle between what is and what needs to be. They began on an open battlefield, where possibilities seemed endless. The material made a move, the artist made another, and art made yet another, each maneuvering itself away from, around, but also closer to the other. As they close in on each other, the decisions get smaller and smaller. The grip tightens.
To some of you, these sculptures will resonate, or strike a chord. They will prove that you share something with someone else. They are evidence that you are not alone.
9. These sculptures are here.
They sit on white pedestals, on display in a gallery. They claim space, perhaps even compress space. They are not models or surrogates for something else. They aren’t also elsewhere, the way images can be. They exist in the world irreducibly and uncontainably (Fecteau). Their job is to make manifest, in physical form, some of what is not here, or at least not visibly so—the psyche, the libido, and everything else that remains unsaid and unsayable.
Also here are photographs by Lutz Bacher. She and Fecteau have been friends for many years, often sharing ideas and inspirations. Sometimes, Fecteau would come across an object or a situation and would immediately know—that’s a Lutz. He would have to pull over or stop to take a picture, and send it to her. She would usually respond with an emoji or two. Years later, much to his delight, he would find out that she had turned the image or object into an artwork. Before she passed away, just a few months ago, the two artists had the idea of including some of those in this exhibition—works by Bacher that had originally been images Fecteau had found and sent her. They come back to him now, charged with life and friendship.
10. These sculptures are untouchable.
Which is ironic, because they were made by hand and consist of nothing other than the physical traces of the artist’s own touch. But these sculptures are untouchable in the way sound is untouchable—physically felt but impossible to actually hold on to. They look like what a polyrhythmic piece of music might look like, where many rhythms are made to intersect and overlap, even if they’re all happening at the same time, on top of each other.
I imagine an artwork as a fire that people gather around, Fecteau once said. His sculptures are untouchable not because they might burn your hand but because the “art” in them is located in the energy they generate and in the emotions they mobilize. And, like the warmth of a fire or a melody, these sculptures can’t be photographed. Should you try, most of the object will be absent from the image—and that’s sculpture’s great advantage over other forms of art: it’s always hiding something. As Don Potts said about his traps, if too much of the hook is exposed, the fish doesn’t bite.
P.S. These sculptures are not art.
Art is an ideal. It’s not an actual object. Objects can be evidence of an aspiration to “art,” but I think “art,” as a concept, is something bigger. It’s truth. It’s beyond museums and galleries and even artists. It’s out of our reach. How we use our limited means to try and approach this truth can be very moving. (Fecteau)

Not Underage Ollie is a lil more fun, he went 2 sum clubs w austin only a few times  ;) ;), hungover he was a less whiny version of Underage Ollie. he’s less caring when others are drunk around him bc its austin and austin drinks irresponsibly and is also is ex so SHRUG

46. Do they make a good first impression? Does their first impression reflect them accurately? How do they introduce themselves?
no, most of the time he’s kinda awkward. it reflects him p good :(. he basically just goes “hey im ollie” and depending on who it is he’ll explain what he’s doing like “i have your coke” or “im austins friend. thanks for taking me in”
