TRACK ELEVEN: UNDERSTAND

It's grueling work. The first video was easy but this director has an extravagant and almost larger than life. It's not common for you to star opposite a famous guy who now, on top of that, will play a greek god.

Dick makes it easy. He shows up on set and jokes around with you. And he always eats with you on lunch break, he tries to pay each time but you try to make it even.

Still you can't help but to feel saddened that your friendship is basically over. Along with end of your friendship and the possibility of it being more than that is less than zero. There was no way Dick would have time for you after this video is done. He's too important and busy. And too not over his ex, possibly.

You try your best to smile while on set today.

Dick is freaking out. Like actually nervous and almost throwing up, that type of freaking out. The song he wrote-the one about you but doesn't actually call you out by name, but are about the moments he shared with you-it comes out tonight.

He can't pull the plug on it, he hasn't tried but he knows it won't go over well. His manager talked this single up so well to the studio heads that they wanna renegotiate his contract for one more year.

He doesn't wanna creep you out. But he also can't keep going on like this. It feels like a viscous circle of torture. He's close to telling you and relieving himself of this heavy secret. But then he thinks about how you might not feel the same, and how his confession might chase you out of his life completely. He doesn't want that.

He tries his best to not fall in love with you today.

"Okay and that looks great guys I think we've got it for today. We'll send word if we need to do reshoots." the director says.

Someone is pulling a robe over your body. You're not really paying attention because you're watching Dick walk away from set. You had just finished the dance sequence and you were out of breath and sweating.

But all that was on your mind was Dick. It was crazy.

You can't let this go on for forever. You know that. But you honestly don't know what to do that won't hurt your feelings in the process.

With a sigh you head back to your trailer. When you get in you see a fruit basket on top of the couch. You walk over to it, there's a bright blue note sticking out the top. You take the note out.

Your fingers rip the envelope open.

'Thanks for everything. I wanted to get your opinion on this.-Dick" the note reads.

You look at the bottom of the note to see a QR code. You take your phone out from the safe in your trailer and scan it. The link takes you to a blank site with only a media player on it. The time stamp is two minutes fifty seconds.

You hit play, intrigued. When you put your volume up you can barely hear what is playing but it sounds like a song, it sounds like Dick's voice. You hit pause and look around your trailer for your headphones. You find them in your back.

Quickly you connect them to the bluetooth on your phone and hit play again. The intro plays and your brain gets this fuzzy feeling, like you've heard these sounds before. You rewind once, twice trying to understand why its so familiar.

But you decide to leave it alone as you want to hear the rest of the song. The melody plays out and honestly Dick's voice puts you in a bit of a trance. You don't really notice the words he's saying at first but when he gets to the chorus your focus is brought in.

Maybe we could try if you let me

You're the only one who understands

It hits you then. Where you heard the beginning from. It's from the first music video shoot. When you and Dick were throwing jokes at each other. It was your laugh. Dick put your laugh in a song?

You can't believe it. Well, you-not you really cannot. But why did he leave this for you to listen to if...

Was this a confession? You hit pause on the song. Then your feet are moving before you can even fully think out the repercussions of your actions. You walk right out of your trailer and onto the lot, all the way over to Dick's trailer which is on the other side.

When you get to the door that's when you feel how hard your heart is pumping. Maybe this wasn't the best idea. Maybe you had gotten ahead of yourself. Maybe it wasn't a confession but just him letting you know he's using a personal moment between the two of you in his new music.

Just as you're about to walk up the steps to knock on his door, the door opens. Out comes the stunning and beautiful Zantana. You can feel it in real time how your confidence deflates like a balloon. You try to keep your smile on though.

Her lips start moving but you can't hear her, that's when you realize you still have your headphone on. You pull them off your ears.

"Sorry. What did you just say?" you ask.

She smiles, "Oh, I just said that he's not in here. He might've slipped out a while ago."

"Oh." you say.

"I'm Zantana by the way." she says, holding out her hand.

You take it into your own and shake hands, introducing yourself to her as politely as you can. Your brain is working on overdrive. He's not here? How would she know that if she wasn't here with him?

"I can let him know that you were looking for him." she says.

You shake your head wildly, "No it was nothing. I can just text him."

"Okay. See you around maybe? Are you coming to the party?" she asks.

You feel horrible. You feel like absolute shit. Like here she is being so sweet yo you meanwhile you don't know if these two are a thing or not and you've maybe been harboring feeling for her significant other.

"Party?" you ask now.

Zantana nods, "Yeah the release party for his new single."

Your eyes widen. The song you were listening to a few seconds ago? That song? He was planning on releasing it into the world? What? Your mind is jumping through multiple hoops at the same time.

"I didn't know anything about that." you say, lying.

"Hey, I can put you down as my plus one and get you in. Don't worry about it." she offers.

"I'm just not sure if I can make it." you try to wiggle your way out of going.

"It's a really good song! I know your support would mean a lot to him." she explains.

You think to yourself, maybe she thinks the song is about her. or maybe it is about her and you've gone delusional and the laugh at the beginning isn't yours, because maybe some laughs sound the same. Maybe.

You can't decline an invitation like this. If you want to end this on a good note, if you want to end this at all you have to go.

"Okay, I'll be there." you say.

If you have a fixed amount of time (4 days). Would you rather have a date with all of them at the same time? Or spend each day with only 1 of the girls?

And if you only get to hang out with 1 of them in LA. Who would it be?

I finally got the ideas needed to answer this ask!

I would rather spend each day with them because I'm not going to become the boyfriend of any of them so I might as well use the opportunity to experience four girlfriends. Greedy? Very much.

Chaewon 🐯

Chaewon is the typical girlfriend. Any 'traditional' date location could work with her but I don't know why, I'd really like to take her to a cat café. I'm talking about those cafés full of cats that you can play around with and pet.

Seeing a cute girl like her playing with small kitties would be very therapeutic. It's like her natural habitat.

After that, she'll probably take the lead and drag me to shop for couple-matching outfits and similar. Attention! You must absolutely compliment her on every outfit she tries! It can't not fit her, it's just that there are clothes that look better on her. If you don't compliment Chaewon, she gets insecure, you must always keep your girlfriend happy and cheerful.

At the end of the day, go home and drink. Yes, I wanna hear her drunk rambles because they're adorable.

"Oh, I'm seeing double..." Chaewon mumbles and hiccups. You look at her with worry, it might have been too much for today. She had already downed two bottles and was on the third.

"I think it's enough, Chae, I'm going to put everything away and then we can go to sleep."

"No!" she hiccups again. "This is pretty cool... there's two of you! Mmmh," she laughs and smirks, "You can give me double the amount of hugs this way, right? Come here!"

You can't resist and let her have your way, hugging her tightly.

Sakura 🌸

Sakura is more fit for home dates. Comfy dates in her or your bedroom are the way to go. You could watch movies, animes, shows, or even play games. Seeing her so passionate about playing games would make my heart flutter and also seeing her rage would be pretty funny.

Good luck to her if she wants to teach me how to play with her because I'm not good at all.

"Honey, you have to press R1," she hurriedly tells you, completely focused on the screen in front of her. It was a very critical situation.

"Uhm, this one?"

"NO! That's R2, wait—"

[GAME OVER]

"Not again..." she sighs with desperation and launches herself onto the bed, with open arms and open legs, completely lifeless and desperate.

"S-sorry about that."

"It's just a game, Sakura, it's just a game..." she continues to whisper to herself and then suddenly turns to you: "You're not leaving this house until you beat this level!"

If she feels like going out, we could surely go to the garage sells or thrift shops and look for old video games, mangas and action figures. Sakura seems like a person that likes collecting stuff and hunting for rare objects would be pretty cool.

Yunjin 🐍

I think she'd really enjoy going to a music club or a music shop. We could go to a guitar store and I'd spend all evening hearing her rambling about how a very specific Stratocaster has a superspecific tone that she wants to get. I'm also a musician myself so I'd really like to talk about these kinds of things with her.

Or we could go to her home and listen to her old songs. You know, her old archives of songs—look at her cringe at her old lyrics. Or maybe some unreleased songs...

"Listen to this," Yunjin says, clicking the play button on her laptop. You nod and posture yourself up, paying attention to every word and every note that comes out of the studio monitors.

But after the first verse and chorus, you turn around to Yunjin: "Oh, who were you talking about here? It sounds like me."

"Really?" she says, smirking sweetly. "Maybe it is you after all."

"This... this is a love song."

"I know."

Kazuha 🩰

She's the opposite of Yunjin. She isn't really talkative from what I've seen. Sure, if you get her to open up to you, she might start to say some silly stuff—getting comfortable enough to say stupid jokes. But normally, she's more reserved.

We could go on a book date, going around the city and visiting every bookstore. I don't know if she's a good reader but she certainly looks like one. I'd like to hear what genres she likes and tell her about mine.

And if she's more of a movie person, we could go to the cinema and watch a movie, while holding hands...

Go to the café perhaps. Get her a nice hot cup of coffee and then the park as the final destination.

"Look, look," Kazuha says, pulling your sleeve. You turn around wondering what caught her attention. Your date is pointing with excitement at the white bunny on the other side of the park, munching on some grass.

"Look at that rabbit. It's so white and round. Isn't it so cute?" she asks, with glittering eyes.

"Yeah, it looks kinda chunky."

"Are you saying that it's fat???" Kazuha retorts, furrowing her eyes in an adorable angry frown.

"I'm saying it's very cute." You quickly answer, rubbing the back of your head.

"Mmh. That's more like it."

Now, who would I hang out with in LA? I think the answer is pretty obvious: Yunjin. She looks like she knows already where to go so I won't have to prepare anything. She is also very fun to hang out with so it's perfect!

this is just a little drabble i cooked up for mr. mark lee 😁 this is my first time writing for him so if this sucks oh well 🤷🏾‍♀️ i just wrote this for funsies lol. also it’s not really important to the story but y/n is like 2-4 years older than mark. nothing crazy. anywho, enjoy!

your body jolted upright upon feeling a harsh smack on your right ass cheek. as the people in the studio slowly started to dwindle, you had been quietly cleaning up your makeup station and putting away all of your tools. today, you were tasked to do make up for the 2 baddies relay dance schedule. promotions season was always a fun time for you as a makeup artist. getting to see the action up close was the best part of the job. it was exhilarating getting to see the boys participate in all these cool stages and music video shoots.

“mark! you’re gonna get us in trouble” you shrilled. you and mark had been quietly seeing each other for the past few months. the members knew about it, seeing as you were practically always over at their dorm. but most of your coworkers were unaware of you and mark’s budding relationship. it wasn’t that you were hiding it, but being an idol meant keeping highly sensitive information such as dating under wraps in case it ended up in the wrong hands.

mark walked up to you with a smug smirk and grabbed your hips. “relax babe, it’s just us in here. besides, it stared at me first.” he rubbed his hands over your plump backside, making you look down at the ground shyly. you reached behind you to grab his hands with your own, and held them at your sides.

“you’re so bad sometimes, ya know that, marky? i need to put you on time out one of these days” you joked. mark pulled one of his hands out of your grasp and booped the tip of your nose. “that supposed to be a threat or something? ooh the pretty lady’s gonna punish me i’m soooo scared”

you looked up at him with sharp eyes “yeah, well you should be!” you wrapped your arms around his neck and reached up on your tippy toes to plant a kiss on his soft lips. his hands immediately went back to their home on your hips and deepened the kiss.

mark’s hectic schedule often rendered him exhausted. even when you two would have sleepovers, you were more than happy to just let him sleep. he needed it. but when you two were both in the mood? it went down.

mark walked you back toward the makeup vanity, never pulling his lips away from yours. your back hit against the vanity harshly, causing a few lipsticks and brushes to roll onto the ground. you giggled against his lips “see, told you you’re bad.” mark let out a breathy chuckle “can’t help it baby, you make me wanna do bad things.” you two continued your heated make out, forgetting your surroundings. it was so easy to get lost with mark. he was everything you wanted and more. he made you feel so beautiful and free. every moment with him was lighthearted and carefree. you even forgot he was an idol sometimes, and that you two were technically coworkers.

that was until, someone had reminded you that you two were coworkers.

a familiar voice caused you two to separate from one another immediately. suddenly, the lusty, heated environment you and mark had created had vanished. “aHEM!!! car’s out front ‘marky poo’ ” haechan chided in a singsongy tone. he always loved to poke fun at your guys’ relationship, all in good natured fun of course.

“uh-yeah- we’ll uh, i’ll be out in a minute” mark croaked, feeling slightly embarrassed that haechan had seen the two of you in a pretty intimate situation. “don’t keep us waiting, mwah mwah mwah” haechan mimicked the sounds of obnoxious kissing before he giggled and walked out of the studio.

you ran your hand through your hair and chuckled softly. “you heard the man, you’d better get going.” you turned around and continued packing up the last few items from your kit. mark slung his black backpack over his shoulder. “yeah yeah. we’re still on for dinner at your place, right?” mark asked hopefully.

“of course, honey. shower up and come over around 8. i’m making fried chicken and macaroni and cheese. and bring back the tupperware i gave you last time. i’m making enough so that you can take some back home with you,” you smiled. “god, you’re the best, y/n seriously.”

“i know, now go! i’ll see you tonight, handsome.” mark’s large, sparkly eyes looked at you with so much joy before he rushed out of the door to meet up with the others. you smiled to yourself, mentally preparing for the romantic night you were going to have with your man.

you had just taken the mac and cheese out of the oven when you heard a knock at your door. a rush of excited nerves came over you, and you skipped over to the front door to answer it. “honey i’m ho—olyyyy shit” mark stuttered. he took in your form. you were wearing a red negligée and a black silk robe. you topped the look off with some red lipstick and stilettos.

“well don’t just stand there, come on in, marky” you said with faux innocence. you grabbed his hand and led him into your house, closing the door behind you. “come sit, i just took the food out of the oven. can i get you something to drink? i just got this new wine the other day” mark set his overnight bag down and grabbed a seat at the dining room table. “i’ll—i’ll take some” mark stuttered yet again. you kept up your innocent act. “something the matter, baby?”

mark’s eyes continued to linger on your curvy figure. he truly felt like he had won the girlfriend lottery. “you’re just…beautiful. so fuckin’ beautiful, y/n” you blew him a kiss and grabbed two wine glasses from the cabinet.

after your romantic dinner, mark helped you clean up the kitchen in comfortable silence. “do you have the tupperware i told you to bring,” you asked softly. mark jogged over to his backpack to fish out the tupperware bowl and handed it to you. “good boy” you ruffled his hair and put a portion of mac and cheese and chicken into the bowl and set it aside.

mark mirrored his actions from earlier at the shoot, and came up behind you while snaking his arms around your hips. “thank you for dinner,” mark whispered softly into your neck, finishing off with an open mouth kiss. you tilted your head to the side, sighing at the sensual action.

“mmm, you’re welcome hun.”

“is it time for dessert now?” mark spun you around and looking at you with those signature large brown eyes. he was just so stinking cute to you, even when he was trying to seduce you out of your panties.

and of course, it worked.

“hehehe, yes, it’s time for dessert.” you let out a squeal as mark all but dragged you into your bedroom.

“mark?! i don’t wanna like…suffocate you or something.” you hesitated, but began to sit up and straddle his hips. “you said yourself that i’m full of bad ideas right?” mark shot you a cheeky smile. you rolled your eyes, then slowly hovered your hips over his mouth.

Again, I don't want to scare you or ruin your mood, but the Mobius you see in the currently released footage is our Mobius from season 1. He doesn't have his memories erased and he fully remembers Loki and everything that happened in season 1.

I'm saying this now because I don't want you to be disappointed when the show comes out. This very much is the same Mobius and I would tame certain expectations regarding his arc. I know some plot points of the season and I can reveal them in a separate private ask if you want.

Now you're worrying me, but please let me rant a little bit about the "new Mobius" theory (which is just an assumption I made from the recent releases, nothing cerebral).

So, we know that the Mobius Loki meets at the very end of s1 is a Mobius who doesn't know who Loki is ("who are you? What division are you from?" still haunts me).

In the first and never-seen trailer of Loki s2, the one they showed at the Disney Plus day or whatever that was called, we saw an extra scene (not shown in the recent released trailer) where Mobius and Loki are sitting at a table (where, we don't know) and Mobius is asking Loki "who said you were?" (probably replying to Loki's "I don't want to be the problem anymore Mobius", we couldn't hear the exact words because people were applauding and that was a leaked video).

(I can't find the leaked scene pics but this is the scene. The one I'm talking about is an extra dialogue that wasn't shown in the recent trailer).

Loki answers Mobius, "I don't know. My mother, my brother, the Avengers, Odin etc etc and... you". Mobius smiles softly. We all assumed that Mobius had no memory of what happened in season 1, so he doesn't recall calling Loki the villain, or accusing him of being a murderer (then fixing it saying Loki can be "whoever or whatever you wanna be, even someone good" btw). That's why he smiles, like saying "oh, didn't know that, sorry".

Also, I think the "lemon cake scene" takes place after Loki and Sylvie's reunion at the McDonald (and Mobius is there too). There's a scene where we see Loki and Sylvie, in the same rounded room with the cakes, talking (they're alone, Mobius isn't there anymore). That's in the trailer. Sylvie is wearing her own clothes again.

I assumed this scene takes place after the McDonald reunion and after Loki and Sylvie (and Mobius) have fought together (against what we don't know), and here Loki and Sylvie are confronting each other once again. But whether this scene is set before of after the fight, it must be at the beginning of the series (like in episode 2 or 3?).

The lemon cake scene was the one people has been calling the "jetski cafe scene" since the first leaked trailer, but I don't think that's from the jetski cafe set. I think it looks more like a TVA room (look at the circles on the top in the prev pic). We have zero scenes of the jetski set, except the one where Loki is surrounded by jet skis.

(if in this scene mobius doesn't show up I'm gonna sue marvel)

By the way, what makes me believe this Mobius doesn't know/remember who Loki is (besides the fact that we saw it at the end of s1), is how Mobius talks to Loki. In this scene, which may be set at the beginning while the two of them are searching for Kang (before Sylvie's return? Or later?), Mobius says "you're a man of action, which is fine... while I take a more slow deliberate cerebral approach... this is a good pie!". Like, why does he need to say that? They already know each other, don't they? It could be Mobius just joking around, but it sounds strange.

Why, if this is the same old Mobius, should he asks "who said you were?" to Loki when he perfectly knows Loki's backstory, and their own beginning of relationship? Why does he have to say he's not a man of action while Loki is? It all sounds very much like a Mobius who doesn't know/remember who Loki is, but he's teaming up with him again, ready to believe in him as he has always done.

Being said so, if you know something you can write me in private! There many rumors (a major character being killed off, the jet skis scene, and more) and I'm starting to get quite nervous and my expectations are pretty low (they have been so since the last episode of s1 which ruined my whole vacation day and I will never forgive marvel for doing that shit).

Monkey Wrench story focuses on a team of two mercenaries: ‘Beebs’ and Shrike Sánchez! The series followings them on their many merc adventures in *space*!

YES this wonderful little cartoon is a sci-fi adventure FILLED WITH ACTION PACKED SEQUENCED AND INCREDIBLE ANIMATION it’s humorous!! It’s got witty and dumb humor that makes me laugh!

Not convinced enough yet? Did you know there’s gonna be a whole lotta LORE to be seen? Little hints and puzzle pieces in dialogue and scenes that says “oh? well isn’t That interesting hmm??” So far there’s only 2 episodes up on the main youtube channel but ITS SO SO GOOD!! It’s Zeurel’s and NeatoTito (the lovely co-creator and writer of the series✨) first series that they’ve just put out into the world!! They’re learning along the way of how to make each episode better than the last and MAAAN me being the animation fan i am, I just love seeing this series just being made!! In real time!!

But whew ahah yeah!! It’s a show worth watching!

My favourite Kate and Anthony scenes from season 2? Okay

If you want a more thorough review of Season 2 I really would recommend watching my Tea and the Ton Videos, yeah, they're long and you have to put up with my bad jokes and me calling a man we've never seen Dilf Daddy Sharma, but I also burst into tears randomly and stab myself in the eye while doing some bee themed makeup so... Ya know. And each episode gets a discussion of about an hour and a half

But my favourite scenes are in no particular order

Kate listening to Anthony talking about being a man of action and realising she feels a kinship with what he's saying. I also love the moment after Kate's spoken to Lady Danbury and you can see Kate slip back into her mask before she rejoins the party. I think in that moment we see, just for a second how lonely Kate really is. And it's very different from the face she shows everyone else

Pall Mall. I love seeing Kate and Anthony be themselves, I love her getting to tease him, and Anthony relaxing a little bit and their stupid little giggles when they fall in the mud are so cute. And I like that Kate's almost disappointed when Anthony just abandons their game because she was actually enjoying herself with him.

Hearts and Flowers. I love the slow motion, I love the tension, I love the moment they realise this isn't something they can really ignore anymore. I love that Kate wants to dance with Anthony, but she also doesn't because she's afraid to let herself know what that feels like and Anthony's the same way. He wants to ask her to dance, but he's afraid of what he'll do because every time he's close to her it's so hard to control himself. And I love the scene afterwards where you can tell in that moment Kate does hate Anthony. Because if it wasn't for him the job she came to England to do would be so much easier. She wouldn't have to worry about the fact that her heart feels like it's going to pound out of her chest every time she's around him.

I know, I know this is a really sad scene But I like the scene where Kate tells Anthony to marry Edwina. Purely because you can see their true characters. You can see that Kate's taught herself to push down every feeling she's ever had and she believes that she can repress whatever she's feeling for him. She can. Because she has to. And you also see that Anthony would do anything she asked him to do. Even if what she wants is the opposite of what he wants.

I don't think I need to mention that the Gazebo Scene is in here. Both of them letting themselves go and being stupid sluts. Perfection.

When Anthony B bares his whole entire soul I almost forget what a dumb fuckboi he truly is and when he cries over Kate being okay: Honey, you're perfect, never change.

The epilogue is three minutes of cinematic perfection. I love how stupidly happy they are. I do. I love it They wanna stay in bed and fuck all day: as they should. And they absolutely do not let the fact that there are actual children watching stop them from sticking their tongues down each other's throats. Perfect. No notes.

Also we know I love the Kate and mary scene. I write an entire essay on it.

In yesterday’s Weibo Movie Night event, Web was seen leaving the area after he was done with his bit. I guess he really just wanted to have some rest and make use of his time in Beijing. He was also wearing the bone necklace. It’s such a contrast, from the man in stylish suits to the “normal” Yibo. 🤍 From the guy who wore an expensive brooch to an inexpensive bone necklace— but we all know which one is more important to him.

What people noticed tho is the creases on his shirt. We already have an existing CPN about who folded what clothes based on this. The speculation is, GG is the one who prepared the clothes. Or he already bought it before, folded it, then gave it to Bobo at some point when he came back to use. Because if you noticed, this style is not Bobo’s usual. It’s either shirts or hoodies. The one we see wearing this type of clothing is usually XZ.

Buying each other clothes is completely normal to them 💕

• We noticed in BAH behind the scenes that Bobo had a mosquito repellant patch. The one we first saw who had that was GG back in DC shooting. Is this another “advise” from GG for Web to use? Or was GG there? ( FYI, the fandom back in 2020, always had a strong argument that GG visited the BAH set )

• Back in SDC 3, there was a scene that Jackson Wang and Lay were talking about the food being served during filming. Then Web said the food in his crew was good. People thought he was talking about BAH because it was the drama he was working on alongside SDC 3. He said :

The box lunch of our crew is really good.There will be abalone in it. Shrimp and beef brisket. I can take a picture for you next time. Really, our crew's meal was pretty good.

Now BAH team released a BTS video that shows the food and the staff commented that it’s important to include things that will make it healthy.

Let’s focus on the greens, which later on we found on XZ’s CNY post. The same celebration we CPN that Web was a part of. So the interpretation is, Web sent a photo of his food with that and maybe he liked it so GG remembered. Plus GG always want Web to eat well so it’s a no brainer.

I am not a master of Chinese cuisine but BXGs are saying it was uncommon for GG to prepare it for CNY considering where he came from and the type of food they prepare. Well, among the other things that are out of place in his CNY spread. 😂

• During the red carpet, Web had to sign his name in that big ass backdrop. One BXG noticed that he signed it very close fang chencheng’s. Why you ask? That person signed it cheng x2 and when you look at it, it resembles an XZ = XIAO ZHAN.

• Bobo was fiddling with his ring 🙃 and well, it’s similar to GG’s action. just please show us a glimpse of your couple ring please lol

• Then we also have this umbrella prop. I don’t know why it’s there but the clown in me is saying it has something to do with Mr. Umbrella - XZ - Shiying. I was so nervous cause I thought he was hinting something. Maybe he is, we will know it when it happens.

Before I end this I just also wanna lightly remind people about the bone necklace. Since it’s becoming prominent again and people are using it as a proof of stability. I understand that. Yes. However, it is still CPN. It is still speculation. Like all the other necklaces that came before it, we don’t have solid proof, and by solid i mean WYB saying where it came from himself. Just enjoy it. Don’t think too much. As with all things in this fandom — try and not be too nervous if there is no candy. Candies are not a requirement. XZ/WYB’s job is not to feed us candy. We just notice them because we pay attention.

Don’t pin your belief in them with one single piece of CPN. The important thing is always to protect them and not cause them trouble because of our need for proof. People think since international fans are outside of Weibo then we can do whatever the hell we want. No. I personally think we should maintain the same caution and not give a bad rep to our fellow turtles as well as XZ/WYB. Take it easy. Enjoy the content and don’t make everything candy. There is a time and place for it and don’t let it get in the way of treating the boys as real people. 💕

I would like to start this particular post off by saying that I do not want to be dragged into Kataang vs. Zutara discourse. I didn't wanna be part of it back then, and I don't wanna be part of it now. It's exhausting enough to be caught up in discourse for Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy 7 lmao. Thanks.

Anyway, I love to revisit Xiran Jay Zhao's Avatar videos because they're fun to watch, and I loved learning everything they had to say about the Chinese influences in the show and whatnot. Right now, the way they closed off the Ember Island Players discussion is weighing on my mind: in that they said that Team Avatar decided to forget about the play at the end, just like how the Avatar fandom wanted to forget...you-know-what. And this got me thinking...

Would it be wrong to interpret EIP as non-canon to the rest of the show?

I mean, having an episode where the characters watch their own story play back to them while in a theater? This is literally the plot for all those "characters watch their own story" fanfics, except in this case it's dialed up to 11 because their story is highly exaggerated with obvious bias from the Fire Nation. And in those fanfics, it's usually common practice to send the characters back into their respective worlds with their memories of watching their story erased, especially if they were pulled from the middle of their story to see their "future". That's basically this episode: Team Avatar got a break from being in their story just to watch a recap of their adventures capped off with a glimpse of a possible future (again, highly exaggerated with Fire Nation bias). And when it was over, they seemingly forgot about it and went back to the main story (I mean, I might need to look at the comics again to check and see if they actually mentioned the play in any of them, but for the sake of this post, let's assume they never did). I did always find it strange that these Fire Nation play writers somehow got enough information on Team Avatar to semi-accurately recreate some of their adventures with several creative liberties, even with the listed sources on the poster. I mean, "surprisingly knowledgeable merchant of cabbage"? Just how surprisingly knowledgeable was he, exactly? What did he know? 🤨

Now, the main reason I'm proposing this brings me back to the first part of this post. Xiran did point out that the way Aang reacted to the Kataang vs Zutara satire in the play gave off the impression that Aang was pressuring Katara, and as a Kataang, that is hurtful to the ship. But I'm not disagreeing with their point, that was a bad move on Aang's part, even though he was at least aware of his actions by the end.

But hear me out: if we're gonna consider this episode non-canon, that would mean we could also interpret Aang's actions as out of character for him. I mean, I kinda always did, even though I wasn't able to put it into words until now. Because, this was really the only time in the whole show that Aang was jealous over Katara having a moment with another guy. Like, he didn't have anything to say about Katara desperately wanting to help Haru - he did want to help her - nor did he say anything about Katara's obvious crush on Jet (though there was that small line about him saying that Sokka's idea that Katara should kiss Jet to jog his memory in Lake Laogai was a bad idea, but I'm choosing to let that slide because again, it was just a small line). And I'm pretty sure him glaring at Zuko as he and Iroh broke into the Crystal Catacombs had less to do with him possibly feeling jealous over finding Katara and Zuko standing close to each other, and more to do with the fact that...well, Zuko was still the enemy, and he just didn't want Katara hurt. Iroh had won him over, but not Zuko. Yet.

Hell, even Aang making a big deal over wanting to sit next to Katara in the theater seemed strangely out of character, because Aang was acting very maturely in just the previous episode, only for him to whine about not getting to sit next to Katara in the very next.

And you wanna know something else? Considering that Aang and Katara left their conversation at the theater both feeling very uncomfortable and tense with what their relationship currently is, it's rather sus that Sozin's Comet Part 1 opened with them acting like it never happened, right? Like, Katara offered him a drink with a smile, and he ran toward her to get it eagerly, with no sign at all of their tense feelings. And even before Aang blowing up at her and the rest of the Gaang near the end, they talked to each other calmly like nothing's wrong. You could argue that they reached a silent agreement to not talk about it for a while, but...you could also argue that there was nothing for them to talk about because it never actually happened. Because that episode wasn't actually canon. 😉

I don't know, maybe I'm just rambling for the sake of another lengthy post lmao. What do you guys think? Is it okay to interpret EIP as non-canon, or should we still look at it as a rough experience for Kataang shippers among meta commentary? I mean, I did always find it strange that Book 3 had 21 episodes while the previous two had exactly 20, so another reason to write EIP off as non-canon would mean that Book 3 would have 20 episodes, right? 😂

Enchanted (Stan’s Version)

PAIRING: Stan Marsh x Reader

SUMMARY: Remembering can be bittersweet, and each and one of them have been since you were little. That doesn’t mean all the memories are joyful. But in the end, you were enchanted to meet them.

GENRE: Fluff and angst.

WARNINGS: Self-image issues, hints of depression, swearing.

PART: 1.1 (series masterlist)

4th Grade

Stan was able to see your change of attitude during the 4th grade. You smiled less. You seemed more distracted. He also noticed how your grades started to get worse and worse. He wanted to ask you what was happening, but something stopped him whenever he tried to talk to you. He didn’t know what or why he couldn’t get closer to you. You were alone most of the time. But he knew you were disconnected from the world. He told himself he didn’t want to bother you. That’s why he didn’t approach you. Can a person actually change that much over a year?

Stan found the opportunity to spend some time with you one day during recess. There was this talent show at the school. Kenny, Kyle, and he decided to play a song, so he spent his recess practicing as much as possible.

He saw you sitting at your usual desk, you were resting your head on the surface, and he could see you had your headphones on. He debated whether he should disturb your peace or let you rest, but his desire to speak to you won over. He grabbed one chair and dragged it next to you. The movement made you raise your head from your desk. You took notice of his guitar case.

“When did you learn to play the guitar?” you asked Stan while he was taking his guitar out of its case.

“I actually started to practice and learn to properly play it during the summer.” you looked at Stan with awe. You always knew Stan’s passion was music, but you never thought he could play an instrument. “I actually taught myself. For a reason, it was pretty easy. By only looking at videos of people playing, I could do it.”

“Cool.”

“Wanna learn?” Stan asked you.

“Mhm, I prefer watching you play. Can you play me a song?” you asked, and he started playing a song you soon recognized as “Something About Us” by Daft Punk.

You could see how Stan skillfully moved his hands on the guitar without any problem. He really practiced all summer if he was able to do it so easily. Stan saw you for a moment. You were paying attention to the way his left hand was moving across the guitar’s neck. You didn’t know why you were so mesmerized by the actions. In the end, you didn’t intend to learn, or anything like that, but something in the way he was playing had you paying more attention to his actions. When he finished, he looked you in the eyes, and he was able to see admiration.

“That was awesome, Stan!” you smiled at him. It was the first time in weeks he saw you genuinely smile. His heart fluttered.

“I’m glad you liked it, Y/n.”

5th Grade

“One day I’m gonna be as pretty as her” You were looking at the page from the magazine you just bought where your favorite singer was displayed.

“Since when you started reading magazines? I thought you hated them” Stan took the magazine from your grasp and looked at the same page you were looking at a few moments ago.

“It’s not that I hated them; I just never really understood what they were for until now….” you said.

“Why, though?”

“What do you mean by “why” Stan?” you looked at him, not really understanding his question. Were you really that ugly that you could never be like her? Stan noticed you were pouting, and he realized he needed to give you more context before he fucked it up.

“What I’m trying to say is that… Well, you are already as pretty as her. Even prettier, if I’m completely honest.” The last part came out of him as a whisper in hopes you didn’t listen to him, but of course, you heard it. You felt your heart wanting to get out of your chest.

“You think so?” you were smiling at him.

“Yeah.”

6th Grade

“What are you thinking about?” Stan sat next to you during recess. You weren’t really thinking about anything specific. You were just watching Kenny and Kyle play soccer.

“Nothing really, I just think they’re really good. Shouldn’t you be there with them?”

“Nah, I’m more of a football type of guy.” Stan took out his iPod and earphones and gave you one earphone so you could listen too.

“What are we listening to today?” you asked Stan while looking at the screen of his device while he was looking for a specific song. Stan always enjoyed these few minutes when Kenny or Kyle were far from you because he got to be alone with you without any of them trying to get your attention. Once a week, the two of you just sit down and listen to new music or songs you found during that week.

“I want to show you one song that I want to dedicate to you” You gave him a questioning look, and he pressed play. Bruno Mars’ “Just The Way You Are” started playing on your earphone. You’ve heard the song quite a few times whenever it played on the radio, but you never really paid attention to the lyrics until today.

You were looking at the floor while trying to understand why he dedicated the song to you. You didn’t move at all. Stan started to panic. Was this way too straightforward?

The song was almost finished, and your thoughts were all over the place. Did he feel this way? Was he aware that you liked another boy instead of him? Did Kenny know since he was his best friend? Were you actually worthy of these feelings he had for you? Maybe you were just overthinking everything, and he was just trying to help you boost your confidence. Yes, that must be it. It has to be. The song came to an end, and you stayed in silence.

“So? What do you think?”

“I-” Before you could answer him, Kenny and Kyle came running to where the two of you were sitting.

“Water, I need water” You gave Kenny your bottle of water, but you never stopped looking at Stan. You didn’t want to tell him you only saw him as a friend, so you were really glad Kenny and Kyle interrupted before you could say anything else.

“Let’s go. Recess almost finishing,” Kyle gave you his hand and helped you stand up.

7th grade

“Why the change of hairstyle?” Stan asked as he was sitting down at the table Kenny, Bebe, Red, and you were sitting during recess. “It’s been years since I saw you with your hair up.”

“Does it look bad?” you were ready to let your hair down when Kenny grabbed your wrist before you could do it.

“NO! No, I’m pretty sure Stan didn’t mean it that way, princess.”

“Yeah! No, like, I believe you look beautiful. I can actually see your face. And it just gives you this sweet aura.” You looked at Stan and smiled at him. It’s the first compliment in months that someone who wasn’t Kenny or your parents (well, more like only Kenny) has given you.

“Yeah. Stan’s right, girl. You came today and looked prettier than normal,” Bebe said, confirming what Stan had just said. “Am I right, Red?” Bebe asked her, and she only nodded and continued typing on her phone.

“Stan’s right. You always look pretty, but today ufff, you astonished everyone.” Kenny, who was sitting next to you, kissed you on the forehead, and you rested your head on his shoulder. You looked at Stan and muttered a “Thank you” for only him to see. Stan made your whole week.

8th Grade

“Heard you and Kenny got into a fight” Stan sat beside you. You were supposed to be working on your project with Kenny, but since your fight a week ago, you’ve been doing all the work by yourself. You scoffed at his comment.

“Yeah, he’s just so… ugh” Stan laughed at your answer.

“Well, Kenny can be most of the time, “Ugh.” But on a serious note, you should speak to him. I know this fight is affecting him more than he would like to admit.” you sighed. The fight was also affecting you. You could barely sleep, always expecting him to send you a message, to call you, or to have an excuse to speak to him. But you wouldn’t be the one who talked first. You had pride that was preventing you from doing something. “And by the looks of it, I can see it’s also affecting you. When was the last time you slept properly, darling?” Stan grabbed you by the cheeks so he could take a better look at your tired face.

“I dunno, maybe four, five days ago…” Stan let go of you, and you rested your head on his shoulder. He was right. You needed to mend this situation as soon as possible.

“I will talk to him, but for now, can we just forget about him and talk about something else, please?” Stan leaned in and placed his head over yours. Stan always appreciated these little moments with you. They were rare. Most of the time, you had Kenny next to you. So this was like a treasure to him.

“Do you want my help?” Stan grabbed the book you were reading, getting the information you needed.

“Well, basically, I’ve finished reading and summarizing everything. I guess now I need to make the presentation.”

“How about I help you with that today?”

“Don’t you have to do your project too?” you asked Stan.

“Bebe and I have actually finished ours, and right now, Bebe’s trying to get Kenny into his senses so he can stop being a proud little shit” You laughed at his comment.

“Fine, today, at recess?”

“Perfect, I’ll wait for you so we can finish this project together.”

“Yeah, I would like that.”

Stan couldn’t understand everything that was happening. Didn’t Kenny tell him you and he made up a few weeks ago? He did realize you and Kenny were not speaking. Hell, you weren’t even acknowledging each other.

This was different from a few weeks ago. Before, you and Kenny spent most of your time looking at each other while the other wasn’t watching, but now you didn’t even bother to see each other. You were avoiding each other at all costs.

Kyle was back after a year and was taking all your attention when it should have been him, not Kyle. And not only that, but you looked miserable. Not only him but the teachers and your classmates noticed it too. And everyone knew it was because Kenny and you stopped hanging around and talking.

That was what hurt Stan the most. He could see how much Kenny meant to you. He at least wanted to make you feel happy. He missed your smile so much, but he was aware that he wasn’t going to be able to approach you without Kenny throwing a tantrum. So he started to leave post-its every morning on your desk with compliments that he knew would make you at least chuckle.

He saw how every time you read one of his notes, a glimpse of a smile was visible on your face. Even if it was for only a second, Stan was able to make you happy.

“I swear to god I’m gonna punch him if he keeps doing whatever he’s doing with her,” Kenny huffed as he took his seat next to Stan.

“What do you mean?”

“Kyle. He’s getting on my nerves way more than he usually does. He just thinks he can swoon her with notes to keep her away from me. And Y/n, she keeps spending all her time with him when she should be apologizing for what she did” Stan was debating if he should tell Kenny the truth he found out not so long ago after hearing one conversation between Red and Nicole. And also, tell Kenny he was the one sending the notes to Y/n. Instead, he stayed in silence. He knew shutting up was better than receiving a punch from a furious Kenny.

Hi!

Do you have any advice for someone looking to get into video editing or just try and figure it out? It’s always seemed kinda fun to me, and I want to know if there’s any beginners resources you have :3

Heya!

In terms of beginner's software, I'm not sure what's out there now. I got my start on Windows Movie Maker, which is now, unfortunately, discontinued, with a much shittier version available to Windows users.

I do know there are a lot of free apps on Mobile, and a quick YouTube or engine search (Google or Firefox) for free software should get you some options.

From there, clear editing advice is all gonna come down to which software you choose to go with, but I do have a few pointers that apply to most, if not all editing to get you started!

1) Audio levels, if you can view them, should stay in the green and yellow zones. Not all software has this option, but some will show you how loud a particular bit of audio is at any given time, represented with several green rectangles, one or two yellow, and a red. If the audio is in the red, that means it's "peaking" and will be too loud.

The reason you wanna look at the visual rather than listen by ear is so that it sounds the same on any device. If you set it depending on how loud you laptop/phone is, then it might be too loud or too soft when you export the final video.

2) If you can, use multiple tracks to edit! Tracks are the lines you drag and drop videos/pictures and audio in. Unless the software only supports one track for each (or even a combined track for both), you can stack clips on top of each other to make timing cuts easier, help with synchronizing with audio, and so much more.

3) If you have the audio and the visuals separated onto two tracks, see if you can't find some kind of tell to make sure they are synced. In films, this is what the clapper is for, the clapper being the board with the striped design on top that they let fall, which makes that loud SMACK! sound before the action starts. It's to help with editing! 🎬

You don't necessarily need a clapper, as something like a snap of the fingers, clap, hit, ect, ANYTHING that makes a loud, definitive noise will suit this purpose. As long as the noise lines up with the frame where contact is made, it'll be synced.

4) Have all your shots laid out in front of you. This is for films moreso than YouTube videos, but if you need to cut between multiple shots, knowing what each of them are beforehand (and which takes you're keeping) is essential to making editing go a lot smoother. I've seen editors who will print out each scene and each shot WITHIN that scene, paste that on their wall, and reference that while editing. That was back in the '70s though, so you may not need to go THAT far, but it never hurts either.

5) If you can, have someone taking notes as you film. This is especially useful for filmmaking. For each shot, have someone sit with the director and write down how each take went-what lines got fumbled, when cut was called early, when takes are good, ECT. This helps GREATLY in editing and will make life SO much easier.

6) Just edit, edit, edit. Doing lots of projects is the one sure-fire way to get good at it. Any software will work to start, but once you know you wanna take it up a notch, already having prior experience will help you get settled in with all the new, flashy features a lot easier.

7) DONT USE ADOBE PRODUCTS. I DONT CARE IF THEYRE "INDUSTRY STANDARD," THEYRE EXPENSIVE AND BAD AND NOT WORTH IT. I personally use Filmora 9, but I've also used Sony Vegas, which is also good. There are other options, don't be fooled.

It's 3:30 AM so I'm sure there's more I could say but my brain is an egg at the moment, lol. But if you have any specific questions, feel free to DM me or comment or something. I love talking about this stuff, as filmmaking is one of my passions.

Backstage, Jon was taping his hands while Melanie came up and kissed him on the cheek.

"So, how was fanboy land?" she teased

He chuckled. "I have no idea what you're talking about."

"Oh come on. I saw that adorable smile." She grinned while he finished taping up his hands. "I have to admit when you smile like that, it looks adorable."

"I know, you can't resist my good looks."

"Well, it looks like I wasn't the only one fangirling on Old School Raw."

"You were fangirling hard. I thought you were about to faint."

"I didn't fangirl a lot."

He gave her a look. "Really? Popping grapes like crazy, squealing and giggling at Piper?"

"Okay, okay, but you were smiling when you got the snake on you, so, haha."

"At least I wasn't squealing and blushing, Oh my gosh, Piper! I love you!" he said in a high voice.

"H-hey!" Melanie exclaimed as he laughed. "He is my idol. He inspired me to be the Outspoken Diva I am today. His promos are awesome. And who cares if I was blushing? I can make you blush."

"Nah, you can't. I bet I can make you blush more than Piper did to you."

"Really? I like bets, what's your challenge."

"Let's see how long we can resist each other. Let's bet that whoever can seduce the other wins. No sex, just trying to seduce the other."

"Sounds like fun."

"I'll win this bet with flying colors."

"And why are you so confident?"

Jon smirked. "Because you'll break within a week."

Roman quickly removed his eyes from her legs and cleared his throat as she stopped stretching. He gave her her black gloves and she put them on.

"You forgot these," he said.

"Thanks. You know, you've been acting pretty weird lately. You okay? You look like you really wanna say something."

Roman started to look a little frustrated but calmed down. "...There is something that I need to get off my chest. But I'll tell you when I'm ready."

"You sure? You don't have to tell me if it really isn't any of my business."

"I know, but you should know."

'Another WWE Exclusive Video'

"I can't believe you're facing CM Punk tonight. I'll be rooting for you." Kaitlyn said as they walked backstage.

"Thanks. I'm really nervous. No more games, it's real and I need to put my words into action." Morgan said. "Ready to take down AJ?"

"Yeah, can't wait. Whoa." Kaitlyn stopped walking.

"Are you okay?" Morgan asked as she stopped walking too.

She saw Kaitlyn pointing straight ahead and they saw Rosa talking to Roman.

"That's weird." Kaitlyn looked confused. "Looks like she wrecked her brain when she dyed her hair blond. Why the heck is she talking to your teammate?"

"I have no idea..." the Outspoken Diva narrowed her eyes at Rosa.

"I would keep an eye out for Rosa."

"Yeah, I need to. I don't want Roman to get distracted. He's already on a roll and now she's getting involved. That's not cool. I'll have to talk to him about it."

"Please do. If you don't, I will. I don't like what Rosa is doing. She may be plotting something."

"I just don't want him to be caught in her evil ways. I don't want his heart broken either. He doesn't deserve that."

"You care a lot about your teammate. Growing a soft spot?" Kaitlyn nudged her.

"I care about him a lot. I just think that he's hiding something from me. We always vent to each other but now, he hasn't vented to me lately. It's like he really wants to tell me something but keeps holding it in. I could see the frustration on his face when he talked to me earlier today. I hope he's okay and nothing is wrong."

"Do you think they're dating?"

"I hope not..."

'The Shield's Hideout'

Morgan was wearing her Shield attire with a cut up shirt and black pants. She had her hair in a purple hair tie.

"Ready to serve some justice?" Seth asked and pounded his fist with hers.

"A little bit. Just nervous." She replied.

"You are going to do just fine. Trust me." Dean said. "CM Punk fails to realize that he is in for a treat. You are going to beat him and you are going to inflict a lot of punishment on him."

"He's going to regret every single smart remark he's said about you. You are going to own him tonight." Roman added.

"Thanks, guys." she smiled. "Let's do this." She put her fist out and so do they. "Believe in Morgan and Believe in The Shield." She announced as the camera zoomed in on their fists.

"Morgan is in action next! And she's going up against CM Punk!" Miz said on commentary as they go to a commercial.

'To The Gorilla'

Melanie was listening to music, trying to calm her nerves and saw Phil walking over to her. She took off her headphones and grinned at him. "Hey."

"Hey, Mel. Ready for our match?"

"A little nervous."

"You're going to do fine. I'll prepare myself for your kicks." He said and laughed with her.

"Thanks."

"No problem," he replied and they heard his theme song come on. "See you out there grapes."

She could hear the Philly fans chant 'CM Punk' loudly after he got in the ring.

Melanie exhaled. This was real. She was finally going to be in a one on one match against CM Punk. A WWE Superstar. She had a lot to prove and wanted 2014 to be the year when she faced WWE Superstars. She was glad she was able to have the privilege to do so. She wanted to bring some of the Attitude Era back and bring enjoyment to watching the women.

While she heard The Shield's theme come on, she noticed that they were going to stand at ringside to cheer her on. Moments later, The New Age Outlaws arrived at the gorilla and greeted her.

"How's the mini Chyna doin'?" Monty (Billy Gunn) grinned.

"Nervous."

"You're going to do great out there. Just like your cousin. I know she's watching and can't wait to see you shine out there." B.G James (Road Dogg) said.

"Thank you so much." she beamed.

'Oh, you didn't know? You better call somebody!'

The New Age Outlaws waved goodbye and walked out to the stage. They were going to back up Punk just in case The Shield tried anything sneaky. They did their trademark promo while Melanie got into character and started to warm up by doing some push ups.

She stood up and put on her Shield hoodie and put the hood over her head. Once her theme came on, the crowd began cheering loudly as she walked out onto the stage with a grin.

"And introducing his opponent, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania! She is one fourth of The Shield, Morgan Lopez!" Justin announced.

"Morgan and CM Punk. This is going to be one interesting match." Josh said on commentary.

"You bet. Punk seriously has a big disadvantage with this crowd backing up Morgan. This ain't Chicago, this is Philly. You are in Morgan's town now." Miz said as she spun around and tagged some hands.

After sliding into the ring, she got on the ropes.

"Let's go!" She yelled as she took off her hoodie and did her taunt.

She pointed to her family and Leah who were cheering her on and jumped off. She smirked at Punk once her theme faded out. The crowd chanted 'Let's Go Morgan' while Punk looked at the crowd in amazement.

"Yeah! You're in her town now! This ain't Chicago! This ain't Chicago!" Seth taunted.

'Ding Ding Ding'

"And here we go!" Miz exclaimed.

"Let's go Punk, you got this." Road Dogg cheered on.

Morgan and Punk circle around each other and she puts her hand out to Punk and he immediately shakes it.

"Looks like someone is showing respect," Josh said.

"No matter how many times Morgan has mouthed off to Punk, this is an experience she will never forget. She's honored to be in the ring with a WWE Superstar like CM Punk." Miz replied.

Punk and Morgan lock up but he pushes her down. She looks at him while he motions her to come at him. She narrows her eyes and stands up. They lock up again and this time, she trips him down as the crowd cheers. She smirks and motions him to come at her just like he did earlier.

"Little bit of mind games." Josh looked on.

"Oh~ you better believe that," Seth smirked.

"She ain't the one to be messed with, Punk," Roman stated.

"You're going down, Punk!" Dean taunted.

They lock up again and he throws her to the ropes and connects with a hip toss, turning it into an arm submission.

"Fight it." Seth supported while she winced in pain.

She manages to stand up and escape the hold. She clotheslines him 3 times and goes for a dropkick. She waits for him to get on his knees so she can give him a shining wizard. Morgan pins him for a 2 count and begins to put him in the camel clutch.

"Squeeze him harder," Roman said.

"Squeeze the life out of him," Seth added.

Punk manages to stand up and walk back to a turnbuckle, making her break the hold. He walks to the corner across from her and hits her with a running knee and a clothesline. He gets on the ropes and does the diving elbow on her.

"That's gotta hurt." Road Dogg said.

"This may be over." Josh looked on but Punk pinned her for a 2 count as the crowd cheered. "Punk thought he had her."

"She ain't going down that easy, Punk!" Rollins shouted.

Morgan manages to get up but Punk attacks her with chops and a roundhouse kick as she stumbles back. He hits her with a neckbreaker and pins her for another 2 count. Morgan rolls out the ring and Punk decides to run to try to hit her with a suicide dive but she moves out of the way.

"Whoa!" Miz exclaimed as Punk fell face first, onto the floor.

Morgan manages to take a breather as The New Age Outlaws walk over to Punk. The Shield come to her aid since they are near her and they start arguing with the New Age Outlaws.

The ref tries to calm them down as Morgan throws Punk back in the ring. She pins him for a two count. She gets on the apron and waits for him to get up so she can hit him with a diving clothesline. And when he gets up again, she runs and strikes with a swinging neckbreaker.

"Punk needs to turn things around," Josh said.

"Drop him. Keep dropping him." Seth advised.

Punk gets up and catches her kick. He pushes her back and kicks the right side of her stomach. Morgan returns a kick and they keep kicking each other until she starts hitting him with elbows to the head. Punk responds with elbows of his own until they are leaning on the ropes. The ref breaks it up while Morgan tries to go for another kick. Punk ducks it and puts her in a waist lock but she elbows him and hits him with a facebuster.

She gets on the top rope and goes for a crossbody but Punk catches her and picks her up for the GTS as the crowd gets hype.

"Come on Morgan! Fight out of it!" Dean exclaimed but Punk connected with the GTS.

"It's over. Morgan put up a good fight." Josh said but Punk pinned her for a near fall as the crowd 'Ohs'

"No way." Miz looked on in awe as Punk looked at her in shock.

The Shield was surprised but mostly relieved that she kicked out. They show Punk two fingers, saying it was a two count while the New Age Outlaws had their hands on their heads in surprise.

"No way, that was three! That had to be three." Punk exclaimed to the ref.

"It was two." The ref reiterated as the titantron showed Morgan kicking out before the three count.

"The resiliency of Morgan is really something," Miz praised.

Morgan was breathing heavily and holding her chin, starting to feel the effects of Punk's kicks and knees. She knew he was going to be a tough opponent.

Punk picks her up and throws her back to the turnbuckle and hits her with a running knee. He follows up with an elbow and pins her for a 2 count. The crowd gets hyped once Punk puts her in the Anaconda Vice.

"Uh oh! This may be over now!" Josh exclaimed.

"Morgan! Morgan! Do not tap out! Do not tap out!" Seth banged on the mat.

"Damn it Punk!" Dean yelled. "You're not going to win! You are not going to win!" He got on the apron but Roman brought him down.

"Calm down, she got this!" Roman exclaimed as Dean started pacing around, being the hothead that he was.

Seth tries to calm him down while Roman starts to look annoyed. He was not going to let Dean ruin this match for her. He needed to calm down and not get so worked up every single minute.

"Do you submit!?" The ref asked.

Morgan was desperately trying to break out of the hold. He was choking the life out of her. Luckily, she got her foot on the rope as The Shield was relieved.

Punk does the GTS taunt and waits for her to get up. Once she does, he puts her in the GTS but she counters with the Morganizer as the crowd cheers.

"Oh my gosh, she's about to beat CM Punk!" Josh shouted.

"This is over! She got it!" Miz exclaimed.

She rolls him over and pins him.

"1!"

"2!"

"No!" Morgan shouted once Punk kicked out for a near fall. "No! Why!?"

"Don't get frustrated. You got him. Stay on him." Roman supported as he watched her get upset.

She waits for Punk to get on his knees so she can give him a running knee lift. She pins him for another two count.

"Come on...give it up Punk!" Seth exclaimed.

"Make him suffer," Dean added.

Morgan decides to put him in a single leg Boston crab to try to make him tap but he escapes the hold.

Punk manages to fight back and hits Morgan with a belly to back suplex. She rolls over to the apron and stands up on the apron, near the announce table and The Shield. He was about to run through the ropes to knock her off with a shoulder thrust but she jumps up and does a split on the apron once Punk slides out of the ring and onto The Shield.

"Oh!" Miz exclaimed.

'Thank you, father, for teaching me ballet.' The Outspoken Diva thought.

She is about to turn her head but Punk gets up and grabs her by the hair to pull her down.

"Punk taking out all members of The Shield," Miz said as he threw Morgan back in the ring.

But then, Dean gets up and starts yelling at Punk at ringside and it catches his attention. He walks over to the ropes and watches Dean mouth off. Punk taunts him but then Morgan walks up to him from behind. She manages to pick him up from behind to set him up for the reverse GTS as the crowd pops loudly.

"Oh my gosh, she's picking him up!" Josh exclaimed.

"The strength of Morgan! Chyna taught her well!" The Miz praised.

Punk wasn't seriously heavy, but he wasn't that light either. She manages to do the reverse GTS on him as the crowd starts to chant 'This is Awesome.'

"That move may have taken a lot out of Morgan. I wonder if she has anything left in the tank." Miz looked on as Punk and Morgan were laid out.

The crowd starts to chant 'Let's go Morgan! CM Punk!'

The ref starts to count and Morgan manages to crawl over to Punk and pin him.

"1!"

"2!"

"Oh!" The crowd shouted once Punk kicked out.

Morgan was shocked and snapped her head to the ref.

"That was three!" She exclaimed.

"Two." The ref stated.

Morgan sighs loudly and rolls away from Punk to recover.

"I thought she had him there. What the heck does Morgan have to do to win?" Josh asked.

"They both are tough competitors," Miz replied.

Morgan sits up and sighs but Punk grabs her from behind, for the Anaconda Vise as the crowd gets hyped and she screamed "Crap!"

"Looks like Punk was playing possum," Josh looked on.

The Shield start to panic but Morgan manages to hit him in the back of the head with her knee to make him release the hold. She picks up Punk and tries to do the bulldog on him but he pushes her off and hits her with a step up enzuigiri. Morgan falls out of the ring and near The Shield. Dean quickly goes to check on her but once Punk gets out of the ring, The Shield begin to step up to him.

The crowd cheers once the New Age Outlaws come to his aid. Punk and the New Age Outlaws start arguing with The Shield and don't notice Morgan getting in the ring and onto the top rope.

"No way!" Josh chuckled while she dove on top of everyone.

"Let's friggin' go!" She yelled, taunting the crowd as they gave her a huge pop.

She manages to get Punk in the ring. He manages to kick her in the stomach and run to the ropes but Morgan follows him and hits him with a knee to the stomach, taking a page out of Ambrose's book. She holds her stomach and grabs him to position him for the backfire. She does a loud battle cry and hits the move.

"Will this be it!?" Miz exclaimed.

"1!"

"2!"

"Come on!" Morgan yelled as Punk kicked out again.

Punk manages to lean on the turnbuckle as she gives him a handspring back elbow. Punk quickly grabs her from behind and puts her in the GTS position as he walks to the middle of the ring. Morgan escapes it and hits him with a bicycle superkick as Punk slowly falls down the mat. She pins him for another near fall as she bangs on the mat in frustation.

"Don't let the anger control you," Seth warned.

She turns to The Shield and they give her words of encouragement.

As they both recover, Punk kicks her in the stomach as she bends forward. He kicks her on the shoulder as she stumbles back and gets hit with a roundhouse kick. Morgan slowly falls down the mat. Punk goes high risk again and aims for the elbow but she moves out of the way.

"Will this be a turning point in the mat?" Josh asked. She pulls Punk to the middle rope and gets on the apron. She runs and gives him a knee to the face as the crowd 'Ohs' at the impact. "Painful knee by Morgan."

She gets back in the ring and waits for Punk to get on his knees. Once he does, she tries to kick him in the face but he ducks and quickly stands up and picks her up for the GTS. She escapes it and puts him in the Morganizer position until he escapes it and puts her back in the GTS hold. She escapes it again and delivers the backfire on him as the crowd cheers.

"Yes!" Seth yelled and high fived Dean and Roman.

She pins him but for another near fall.

"No!" Morgan screamed.

"Damn it!" Dean banged on the mat.

The Shield was getting frustrated for her.

"Come on Punk! You can do it!" Billy cheered.

"Shut your mouth, old man!" Seth yelled.

Morgan waits for Punk to get up from behind and catches him in a sleeper hold.

"Paying tribute to Hot Rod," Miz praised. Punk breaks out of it and throws her to the ropes. She held onto the ropes while he went for a dropkick. "Looks like Morgan knows all his tricks."

She runs and gives him a hurricanrana. Then, she jumps on the ropes and gives him a crossbody. She pins him for a one count and puts him in the breakdown as the crowd cheers. She starts to lean back more as Punk yells out in pain.

"Give up already!" Morgan yelled.

All of a sudden, Punk escapes the hold and puts her back in the Anaconda Vice.

"Oh no! She's caught!" Miz exclaimed.

Moments later, Morgan is about to tap but loses consciousness when Punk puts too much pressure on her head. The ref checks her and rings for the bell to be rung as the crowd cheers for Punk.

"Here is your winner! CM Punk!" Justin announced.

The Shield weren't disappointed that she lost. They were proud of her and her efforts.

Punk got his hand raised as he held his stomach, still feeling the impact of Morgan's kicks. The New Age Outlaws get in the ring to celebrate with him. Morgan manages to regain consciousness and sighs.

She started to look upset and ran her hands through her hair while she was disappointed in herself.

"I failed..." She looked down in disappointment.

Punk stopped celebrating and turned his attention to her while his music went off. The crowd applauded for them both, praising their match. While Morgan was looking down, she saw feet in front of her.

"Hey." He stood before her and she slowly looked up at him.

Punk had his hand out and she decided to grab it. He helped her up as the crowd continued to give them a loud reception. They chant 'This was Awesome'

Morgan held her stomach since she was still feeling the effects of Punk's moves. Punk whispers something in her ear for a few moments and after he is done, he steps away from her. Morgan smiles and nods to him while he smirks and gets out of the ring with the New Age Outlaws.

The Shield gets in the ring while Morgan mouths 'Thank you' to Punk and he mouths 'You're welcome.' while her theme comes on.

"Even though Morgan lost, you got to give her credit for the performance she's done. This is a match she will never forget." Miz praised.

"Morgan, may I have a word?" Renee walked over to her while she was chatting with Kaitlyn.

"What's up?" She grinned.

"I wanted to get your thoughts on your match against CM Punk. You came up short but you showed a lot of girl power out there. How are you feeling?"

"I feel like I won. I feel like a winner. Win or lose, CM Punk took the time to get in the ring with me and we had one hell of a match. I'm proud of it. I may not like him but I respect him and I'm grateful that he wanted to wrestle me."

"She kicked butt out there." Kaitlyn praised.

"He got me a couple of times, I mean, Punk can hurt anything. I may have kicked out of the GTS but I couldn't handle the submissions. I'm disappointed in that but I'll just have to work on that a little more." Morgan continued.

"After the match, you took his hand as he helped you up. We saw him whisper in your ear, what did he say?" Renee asked.

Morgan chuckled, "He told me...he never met a woman who wanted to stand out so much from the other WWE Divas. He told me I earned his respect and wants to wrestle me again."

"Ooh, so Punk and Morgan aren't over?"

"Nah. Not by a long shot. I want closure. I'm going to beat him one day. He got lucky and outsmarted me tonight. Next time when we get in the ring, I'm going to make sure to try harder. He's an awesome competitor."

Kaitlyn was in the ring with AJ while Tamina was at ringside. AJ seems to be taking control, and Morgan walks out to support Kaitlyn as the crowd cheers.

"Here comes Morgan, again," Miz said.

"Come on Kaitlyn!" She supported at ringside.

"I'm surprised that she's out here. She lost to CM Punk earlier." Josh looked on.

AJ gets hit with a backbreaker by Kaitlyn as the crowd cheers. She elbows AJ down and starts to build momentum by giving her clotheslines. She pins her for a two count and throws her to the ropes. AJ kicks her on the shoulder but runs into the gut buster.

"Awesome!" Morgan cheered. Kaitlyn pins her for a two count. "So close."

Kaitlyn tries to pick her up but AJ catches her in a submission.

"AJ has locked that submission in deep." Josh said.

Kaitlyn manages to power out by throwing her to the turnbuckle. AJ gets on the middle rope and goes for a crossbody but Kaitlyn catches her. She tries to go for the gutbuster but AJ counters with a roll up and wins.

AJ starts skipping around Kaitlyn and she stands up. Suddenly AJ jumps and grins at her before giving her a hug as the crowd cheers.

"What the heck?" Josh asked

"I was thinking the same thing," Miz said in confusion. AJ got off of her and fixed herself while Tamina got in the ring. Once Kaitlyn turned around, she gets kicked by Tamina as the crowd boos. "Oh!"

Morgan quickly gets in the ring but AJ and Tamina escape.

"Really? Really Tamina?" She retorted as she helped Kaitlyn.

AJ grins and leaves with Tamina while Kaitlyn sits up and holds her head while she helps her.

"You okay?" Morgan asked.

"I fall for it every time..." Kaitlyn sighed. "Do me a favor. Kick Tamina's ass for me and win the divas championship for me, the next time you win it."

After she stood up, they both embraced as the crowd cheered.

'Backstage'

Melanie and April give each other sad smiles when they see Celeste zipping up her bag.

Celeste sighed. "Goodbyes are too hard..."

"Yeah, they really are," Melanie replied.

"You two better stay and kick some serious butt. And Melanie, I hope you continue proving yourself by wrestling more superstars."

"I will, hopefully."

Celeste showed a sad smile and had her arms out while Melanie quickly went to hug her and began crying. "Haha, don't cry Melly. We'll see each other soon."

"I'm such a baby. I'm sorry. I'm just going to miss you and you attacking me with pillows all the time."

Celeste started to have tears in her eyes and released her. "You're gonna ruin my makeup. Tomorrow is going to be the first day of my new life. There's so much to look forward to."

Melanie nodded and wiped the tears from her eyes. "I can't wait for Celestial Bodiez to debut. I'll be checking that out."

"You better." Celeste playfully glared at her.

"She's leaving!" Ettore (Big E) playfully sobbed and showed a sad face before hugging her.

"Group hug!" April joined in and so did Melanie. "We love you, Celeste!"

Leah chuckled while The Philly Diva started walking over to Jon. He was lying down, lifting weights, while he was shirtless and wearing shorts.

She decided to straddle him, which quickly distracted him and made him groan.

"Hey. You don't mind if I sit here, do you?" she greeted

"Not at all." he managed to say.

"Great, you're comfortable. You look really tense. I could change that if you just give in." She smirked and put her hands on his chest. She heard him grunt when she moved forward a bit. "So? Are you going to give in?"

Amused, he smirked. "You're not going to win this bet this easily. You just caught me off guard a little bit."

"Suit yourself." She got off him. "I'm going to let you off easy, this time."

He stood up. "You seem really confident. That's going to come back to haunt you."

"Sure..." Melanie grinned. "That's just a preview of what I'm going to do to you."

He leaned forward to whisper in her ear, "You know Mel...I know all your weak spots. I'm going to make you so hot and bothered, you're going to beg." He moved away and slapped her ass before walking away.

"Really?" She rubbed her behind.

Leah laughed at the show. "That was good."

'Smackdown'

Morgan was stretching backstage while bending down. She saw boots in front of her and stood up, letting out an annoyed sigh.

"Hello, Morgan." Rosa grinned.

"What the hell do you want...?" She retorted.

"Oh Morgan, you're so moody." she giggled.

"What do you want, Rosa...?"

"Oh nothing, just listening to Roman vent. We've been talking lately. He said some interesting stuff about you."

"First of all, how about you mind your business and stay away from my teammate."

"I can't. He is my business. He's been venting to me."

"Why do you always lie? Why would Roman want to talk to you? Besides he always goes to me to vent."

"Not anymore chica. You lost that title. And soon, you're going to lose the title of being The Shield's Girl."

"This is getting old. I'm tired of you divas thinking you can take my spot. It's not going to happen."

"Morgan, you walk around, thinking you're top diva, well listen up because I'm about to take you down and watch you crumble and fall in despair. It's going to be very entertaining. I can't wait for the next few weeks."

"Listen to me." She sternly said and stepped up to her. "Stay away from my teammate. I know what you're trying to do. You want to gain your spotlight so you can be a part of The Shield. That's not going to happen. Back off of Roman or there are going to be some problems."

"Have a good evening, Morgan," she smirked and strutted away.

'Later'

Morgan found Roman at The Shield's Hideout, sitting on a crate and walked up to him.

"Hey." She smiled.

"Hey. What's up?"

"Can you be honest with me?"

"Always." Roman ran his right hand through her hair.

"Is there something going on between you and Rosa?" She asked and he removed his hand.

"Huh?" He looked confused.

"I saw you two back at Main Event. And she said that you vented to her. I'm a little confused as to why. I thought I was the one you vented to. Did I do something wrong?" She asked while he sighed. "Look, I don't care who you want to talk to but I just care about you and really don't think she's the one to talk to. She's manipulative and I don't want to see you hurt."

"I'm already hurt..."

"What did she do?"

"She didn't do anything."

"Then who did? Who hurt you?"

"...You did." He stood up.

"What? How did I hurt you?"

"Can we discuss this later?"

"No. How did I hurt you?" She repeated.

"It's nothing."

She was about to ask him another question but stopped.

"I just-I want you to be careful." She gave him a worried look as he started to hold her hands. "I don't want you to get distracted and be under Rosa's manipulative ways. You're on a roll. Don't crash and burn because of her. Please. As a friend, please be careful."

"Yeah. Friends..."

"And we have each other's backs. I'm going to be here for you. Please don't forget what I said about Rosa. Be careful."

"I will,"

"Good. I'll see you," she kissed his cheek and walked away.

daniel larusso is not the real villain of the karate kid movies and here's why: a mega post because quite frankly, i am tired

fair warning, this is long and brings up some pretty self-explanatory points. nonetheless, i need to say these things because i have been in daniel's position multiple times and it drives me nuts when people say he somehow deserved what the cobras did to him! i'm well aware how dramatic i'm probably being but i honestly don't care. so happy reading!!!

before i start rambling, i just want to say something: i know the original "daniel is the real bully" video is a joke, and this is not about that nor is it about the people who jokingly use that phrase. this is for the obnoxious people who legitimately believe daniel is at fault for what he went through. also, i know johnny and the cobras were being terribly misled by kreese at this time! that doesn't justify their actions, rather it explains them.

1. the beach fight was JOHNNY'S fault, not daniel's!

daniel had been in california for a day. A DAY. when he met ali at the beach party, he knew absolutely NOTHING about her other than the fact that she was pretty and he wanted to pursue her. he didn't even know her name for crying out loud, how was he supposed to know her dating history?

johnny was the one who was territorial and jealous. johnny was the one who flew into a rage when he saw ali being happy with someone else. that's not to invalidate the heartbreak he felt and was still processing after ali dumped him, because those emotions were 100% real! (and not to mention, kreese was misleading him SEVERELY at this time) but johnny was the one who consciously chose to stir up trouble with ali and disrespect the clear boundary she had set.

daniel was nothing more than a bystander. he saw this nice sweet girl he liked being messed with and his first instinct was to help her. that's pretty gentlemanly if you ask me, and i'd hope a guy would help me out if i was being hassled by my angry ex. he didn't want trouble, he just wanted to diffuse the situation. he approached things calmly and nicely and JOHNNY was the one who decided to get physical. if daniel hadn't helped ali, and he'd just stood there, people would say he "had no balls" and he let ali get pushed around. but when he helps her, he "shouldn't have gotten involved". daniel didn't know who johnny was, or what johnny was capable of. all he saw was a bad situation and he wanted to help.

oh and one more thing, after daniel sucker-punches johnny, you can see him holding his fist but he also has a hand out for a shake whilst saying "ok man, now we're even!" daniel didn't want a rivalry. johnny did. daniel was simply defending ali and then himself. you're telling me you wouldn't fight back if some random guy was beating up on you? ok...sure...

2. the soccer tryouts incident with bobby...again, NOT daniel's fault!

how people manage to blame daniel for this one is laughable and embarrassing to me honestly. daniel was simply minding his own business, playing soccer and waiting to try out for the team. he probably saw soccer as an opportunity for him to find his place. as someone who has struggled to fit in and make friends for years, i totally get where he was at in this scene.

ali comes up and initiates a conversation with him and he smiles, despite having just gotten the crap beat out of him the previous night for interacting with her. he didn't want trouble, he just wanted to find connections with people.

it's JOHNNY AND THE COBRAS who ganged up on daniel. they were the ones who plotted against him. they were the ones who sent little hand signals to each other. daniel was in his own little world, kicking the ball around and not bothering anyone. BOBBY was the one who came after him, as we hear daniel loudly shout to the soccer coach.

"but daniel shouldn't have tackled and punched bobby!" nope. don't wanna hear it. if bobby didn't wanna get tackled and socked in the face, maybe he should have left well enough alone. if bobby didn't want daniel getting angry and fighting back, he should have left daniel alone. he picked the wrong hothead to mess with. again, daniel had every right to defend himself. if he hadn't, everyone would call him a pansy and make fun of him even more. the kid can't win!

this is why bullying victims don't speak up 🙈

3. the bike accident

do i even need to go into detail for this one? the cobras were 100% to blame here yet again. daniel was minding his own beeswax and they decided it would be appropriate to push him down a hill on his bike??? come on you snakes, give it a rest! daniel could have been severely injured here if not dead and i don't think anyone really acknowledges how scary that truly is.

let's put it in context: johnny and his gang were doing this to daniel over a girl. a girl! is a high school girlfriend really worth someone's safety and life? i don't think so!

4. the halloween fight. oh Lord.

this one is perhaps the most controversial since daniel did have a bit of a fault here. let me explain.

up to this point, and after the bike incident, the cobras had been leaving daniel alone. granted, daniel had been fleeing the scene any time he saw them and he avoided ali like the plague because he didn't want himself beaten up, but they really didn't bother him too much.

so i get it when people say daniel shouldn't have pulled the water prank. i really do.

but, think about it. wet clothes and hair and a ruined joint (all very fixable things!) are nothing compared to the amount of bruises, bleeding and torment the cobras had given daniel up to this point. the memories of this torture aren't exactly the easiest to get rid of, and you can't just dry them off with a towel. water is harmless. being beaten and bullied over a girl isn't.

daniel should have considered the outcomes before he did it, and i think one of his flaws is definitely his impulsiveness, but he had a right to give johnny a taste of his own medicine. even then, what he did to johnny isn't even an iota of what johnny did to him! so was medicine even served?

johnny flew into a murderous rage all over a harmless prank. johnny could have killed daniel that night and the producers confirmed that. if it weren't for mr. miyagi, daniel would have been dead or severely hurt and the cobras would have been facing charges. serious ones, at that. all over jealousy and over-protectiveness for a girl who didn't belong to them.

sure, daniel should have stayed away from johnny. he knew what johnny and the guys were capable of, and he wasn't stupid. he knew the potential risks. but johnny had no business overreacting the way he did. it was water, johnny. the kid didn't murder your family (or anything else that would warrant that type of reaction).

that's all i have to say, i think. in conclusion, yes daniel was a little punk. yes he was impulsive and it got him into trouble. however, johnny was the clear perpetrator here and none of what he did to daniel should ever be justified. 😁

The rest of the week rushes by until he’s throwing stuff in a beach bag, grabbing his hat, and hurrying after Fitz to Delilah, also known as Biana’s pride and joy.

Delilah is a cheerful, sunny yellow van. She had gotten it in high school at a junkyard and spent most of her sophomore year fixing it up and making it as good as new. Biana had spent her junior and senior years transporting the instruments for his band—Havenfield. Technically it was Sophie’s band, but.

He yelled for shotgun, sprinting to beat Fitz. He rolled his eyes and climbed into the backseat, ignoring Keefe’s playful taunting. Biana laughed from next to him, wearing a teal and gold romper. “Right. Dex and Tam should be here soon, and then we’ll get Sophie, and Marella from their apartment. Linh is meeting us there.”

“Are Maruca and Stina not coming?”

Biana shakes her head. “They had an assignment to do. Some sort of video…?”

“Mm.” The other two arrive soon, Dex in bright blue and orange, and as always, Tam in black. They go and pick up Sophie and Marella, the latter saying that Linh will drive on her own, since she had to open for the coffee shop today

It isn’t a super long drive, so soon enough, Biana is finding a parking spot and they begin to unload. The beach was surprisingly empty. Granted, school had started for most people in the area, but it was a warm, sunny Saturday. There were a few people down at the far end, by the docks, but otherwise, they had the beach to themselves.

Sophie stood next to him, assessing him. She didn’t say anything though, just leaning against him.

Biana had run down, her laugh clear above the waves. Dex and Tam followed, talking quietly. His arm tingled, the mark humming softly. They needed him again. He brushed his fingers over it, the small sun warm against his fingertips.

“Want to head down?”

Sophie glanced up at him. “I’m going to talk to Fitz. Can you ask Marella when she’s off? I want to get back to rehearsing.”

“Sure.” He wandered off, grabbing a bottle of water from the cooler. Marella was sitting on her towel, reading something on her phone. “Hey. Soph wants to know when you’re off work.”

“For the band?”

“Yea.”

“Mm. Alright. I’ll check.”

He sits down next to her, crossing his legs and resting his chin on his hands. If he looks to the left, he can see Fitz and Sophie talking. They’re…it’s always been complicated for them. She had transferred to their boarding school in sixth grade, an outsider among people who had known each other for years.

Fitz had confessed once, quiet in the dark of his bedroom, that he hadn’t really wanted to date her. That it felt like what he was supposed to do so he had. Keefe had felt the weight of those dark eyes on him in the dark of their room, and had mumbled something, and then claimed that he was tired.

Maybe that was why Fitz had stopped confiding in him. Maybe that was why they’d gotten into that screaming match after Alvar had sold out part of the Vackers’ company secrets. Fitz had been so angry, so hurt. But Keefe had, mistakenly, defended Alvar. Saying that maybe it was a mistake, or he had been tricked.

And then after, they’d barely spoken.

“I’m off on Tuesdays. And you don’t work them either, right? So we could do Tuesdays. Especially since Tam can ask for an ensemble practice room for us to use.”

“Wh-Yeah. That sounds good. I guess just put it in the chat?”

“You got it.” She typed something out and seconds later, his phone vibrated in his pocket. He went back to watching Fitz, only to realize he had moved.

“Why do you look so mopey? We’re at the beach, you love it here.”

He leaned back to stare up at Fitz, shading his eyes. “Tired.”

“Sucks to suck. Do you wanna go down to the pier? I…I want to talk.”

Keefe blinked and snapped into action. “Yeah, of course, just let me—” He pushes himself up, and follows Fitz down the beach. Salty burns in his nose and he breathes in the brine.

They walk slowly, Fitz wringing his hands. “I…I’m sorry. For what happened. It wasn’t fair for me to just cut you off completely.”

He blinked hard. “Thank you. But, I should apologize too. I shouldn’t have defended Alvar like that. I didn’t know, so I said the wrong thing.”

Fitz’s mouth twitches up on one side. “Well. I guess we both messed up huh?”

He can’t help the smile that’s slowly spreading over his face. “Yeah. I guess we did.” They keep walking, tension slowly draining. He’s glad they’ve finally cleared the air. Spending more time with that awkward air would not have been fun. He bumps his shoulder against Fitz’s, and the little sun on his arm warms. “Hey. Race you.”

Keefe sprints off, laughing at his outraged cry. He hurdles a rock and flings himself onto the dock, sticking his tongue out. Fitz is slower, but it doesn’t mean anything when he barrels into Keefe, knocking them both into the water.

They bob back up, spluttering with laughter. He shakes his hair, splattering both of them with water. “Dude!”

“What? I thought you wanted to win the race?”

He grumbles. “I didn’t want to get water in my hair! It’s gonna get crunchy! Just because you don’t care about your appearance doesn’t mean that I can’t!”

“It’s just some water!”

He gapes in mock offense and shoves Fitz under, holding for a few seconds. He lets him back up, yelping as Fitz splashes him. “Okay, okay! Come on, let’s go back.”

They pull themselves back onto the dock and make their way back, messing around.

Something in his heart clicks back into its proper place, a settling of frayed nerves. He smiles at Fitz, an old feeling slowly uncurling. Biana beams at them when they get back. Her eyes sparkle in the sun and she’s sitting with her legs thrown over Sophie’s lap. Marella is sitting next to them, tapping a rhythm out on Sophie’s arm.

Dex is fiddling with his phone, no doubt adding something. Tam casts a bored look over them and nods once. “Glad you finally sorted it out. Took you long enough.”

Linh must have come on her own, as she swats Tam’s arm. “Be nice!”

“I am!” The two bicker good naturedly, and he smiles. It’s relieving to not have to worry about it. His chest feels so much lighter now.

“Okay!” Biana claps her hands together. “I was thinking we could go to Lindy’s, to get a late lunch.”

He agrees, and so does everyone else.

Keefe ends up sitting next to Fitz, squished between him and the wall. Lindy’s is a fairly popular restaurant, and it’s about halfway full now. He slumps against the wall, glancing at the menu. God, he wants mac and cheese, but the portion is massive.

“Hey.” Fitz nudges him. “Do you want to split the mac and cheese?”

“Yes.”

Fitz gives him that moviestar smile, all white teeth and warm eyes. He kind of hated that smile for a while, back when they were kids. Fitz Vacker, in middle school, had everything. A loving family, a big house, great friends. By contrast, Keefe just had a big, empty house. And he had seen the shining, perfect Fitz Vacker and hated him.

They had become friends shortly after, Cassius closing a deal with Alden. And Keefe had learned that that moviestar grin was…just how he smiled. (Keefe couldn’t help but love it, a little bit. Something he could cling to, that hadn’t changed.)

“Okay, let me get this right. We’re going to start rehearsals again?”

Sophie, on Fitz’s other side, agreed. “I was talking to Jensi, remember his cousin has that coffee shop and stage, and he said that we could use it, just as long as we pay the entry fee.”

“How much?” Keefe ran numbers through his head, calculating tuition fees versus how much he made at work.

“20 for each of us. For an entire act, too.”

He blinked. That was…shockingly cheap. “Seriously?”

Tam grinned. “No way.”

“I know! I was thinking…October 3rd? It’s a Saturday, and his cousin, uh Rowland I think, mentioned that they have mic night on Saturdays, so if we can promote it enough, we’re golden.”

He nodded slowly, running through it in his head. He had Tuesdays off, so they’d go back to that. And maybe Sunday afternoons?

Dex chimed in, asking about what they were thinking about playing. Marella jumped into the conversation, feet first, and Biana joined soon. Sophie and Tam began to talk between themselves, and so Keefe turned to Fitz.

“It’ll be nice to see you play again.”

“Yeah, it’ll be fun. It’s been weird, not having that many rehearsals or even talking about it over the summer. I mean, we went from practicing so often to just. Not.”

Fitz nods, giving an absent minded smile and thanks to the waitress who drops off their food. They split it, born of years of practice. He slumps down again, talking softly. It feels like they’re in a bubble, even with their friends surrounding them.

Keefe leans back against the wall, watching his friends fondly. Marella is leaning forward, gesturing wildly. Sophie’s laughing, playfully flicking Tam. It’s so…it’s so peaceful. Fitz nudges him.

“Are you okay?”

“Mhm. Just taking it in. I missed this.”

“Yeah. Me too.” They finish off the food, and soon Fitz and Tam are arguing over who gets to pay. (It really helps that five out of the group have stupid rich asshole dads.)

Keefe volunteers to drive back to campus, seeing as Biana is half asleep. Fitz is calling shotgun by the time he’s closing his mouth, and Marella jokingly heckles him about it.

Fitz shoves her off playfully, leading to her full on leaping onto his back. He starts the ignition, adjusts the mirrors, and waits for everyone to get settled. After that, it’s only about forty-five minutes of driving.

It’s quiet, most of them absorbed in their own tasks. Fitz snores softly next to him, eyes closed. He turns the radio down, some bubbly pop station that Biana loves. It’s not super great for napping college students, so…

Keefe parks in the lot of Sophie and Marella’s apartment, and lets them out. After that, it’s only five minutes to Ruby Hall, and Biana takes the van back. She hugs Fitz, whispering something in his ear that makes him smile. Keefe heads back up to the dorm.

He sets his bag down and starts to unpack it. Keefe is about halfway through (even if he did get distracted earlier from the small seashells someone slipped into his bag) when Fitz steps inside.

Keefe can’t help the smile that spreads across his face, or the (slightly frantic) breath of relief he heaves when Fitz doesn’t ignore him. Instead, he wanders over to peer over Keefe’s shoulder.

“Having fun?”

“Mhm. Do you want this one?”

“Yeah.” Fitz takes the small seashell, smiling at it. It’s rosy tinted white, and Keefe would be lying if he said he didn’t smile harder at that. “Thank you.”

“Yeah, of course. Also. Do you know how to do calculus? Because I think I’m going to lose my mind.”

“Hopeless.”

“No, I’m not.”

“Yes, you are.”

Keefe pouts, but doesn’t push Fitz away as he drags his chair across the room.

“Okay, so you’re gonna start like this…”
