#also i don't blame you for not continuing. i didn't on my first try—they lost me early in s2
Note
Hi! I watched the first season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel when it first came out, but didn't like it enough to continue, and I just have to say...seeing your MidgexLenny posts is giving me LIFE. I thought I was being a crazy shipper for picking up ✨vibes✨ when he bailed her out (and I think helped her with her set? or introduced her to a new crowd? details are hazy now) but I feel so vindicated that they apparently did have some romantic moments haha hope the show ends on a high note for you! 😊
hey, thank youuuu! yeah, i think the show maybe had something different in mind for lenny's trajectory (i honestly feel he was just supposed to be midge's comedy fairy godmother/a cool and historically relevant figure) but the fact is that luke and rachel have batshit insane chemistry and every scene they're in together elevates the show and at a certain point, ASP probably had to just write with that in mind rather than try to avoid the inevitable. maybe i'm wrong, idk.
but yeah, when he helps her out at the gaslight at end of season one, that's basically when it started coming together for me the first time around. and then, i mean—
Tumblr media
not to do analysis that you didn't ask for, but lenny hides, like. all of his smiles behind his hand or a finger or a cigarette or like... the nearest potted plant or something. his smile is tightly controlled a lot of the time (when it isn't a performance). so to see him already sort of opening up with her just made me feel like, 'oh. they are each going to see the other for who they really are. that's going to be the foundation.'
and it's true! they do see each other, and that is the foundation and the heart and it is so fucking good! unfortunately, i don't think that'll save them, given the real actual history involved and the fact that ASP has a bad record with resolving this kind of stuff.
but frankly, that doesn't matter—one episode left and then it's just me and the fix-it fics, lmao. so i appreciate the well-wishes! but even if the show ends on a low note, i can count on the fandom to help me forget it ever happened

Batfam x M reader hwere the reader is Bruce's older brother, who decided to move away from Gotham after a really big fight between him and Bruce (before Dick was adopted) Bruce wanted to reach out, but never really did because he thought the reader hated him. At some point the reader decided to come back to Gotham and meet with Bruce because he got married and had a kid, but his partner died and he needed support + his kid wanted to know about their uncle. Now total shock on the batfam part because they have an uncle??? And Bruce didn't tell them??? Now they try to build a relationship, but Bruce is still a bit distant because he feels guilty
Oh, this screams angst and fluff at the same time, aaah. Also, 1.5k followers, thank you everyone. My questionable writing is nice and good it seems.
Summary: Bruce's and (Y/N)'s relationship broke down. (Y/N) reaches out.
Warnings: fluff, angst and all in between.
Tumblr media
(Y/N) wiped his tears yet again. He lost his husband a month or so ago and it wasn't easy by any means. They had adopted a little girl a few years ago and they named her Anna. She is an adorable little girl and a smart one too. But kids are always perceptive in certain ways. (Y/N) put the photos of his husband down and turned to the little patter of feet coming towards him.
He turned to his little girl, putting her in his lap while they sat on the couch quietly. (Y/N) smiled at his daughter, but just that made him hurt. But he needed to be strong for his little girl. She needed a strong parent right now, more than anything in the world. That was something that she needed.
Not weakness. Anna was hurting too and she needed nothing but support... But (Y/N) needs his support too. He needs someone to turn too. He can only be strong for so long. And not to mention, there were so many bills to pay and he didn't know how... Oh dear God.
" Hey honey, can't sleep? " (Y/N) asked his daughter, who nodded yawning.
" Yeah... I miss papa. " She said quietly and (Y/N) took everything in him to not break down in front of his daughter.
" I miss papa too honey. "
" Can you tell me more about uncle Bruce? " Anna asked in her innocent childlike way, not knowing how complex the situation was. (Y/N) didn't blame her in the slightest, wanting to know more about your family is something normal. Even though you are a child and adopted one too, wanting to know more makes (Y/N)'s heart even warmer.
" Well, your uncle Bruce is my younger brother. " (Y/N) started, smiling at his daughter, despite the pain he felt. Bruce was always a sore subject for him. Deep down inside he loved Bruce, but the fight they had broke that love. He adjusted his daughter in his arms and continued.
" He is brave, courageous. Annoying sometimes, but that's normal. Everyone is a little bit annoying sometimes. " (Y/N) said, making Anna giggle, for the first time in a few days.
" Why he never comes? " Anna asked and (Y/N)'s heart was hit with sorrow and pain.
" We don't like one another. Sometimes adults don't like each other and don't speak about it. " (Y/N) said and Anna tilted her head in wonder and curiosity.
" Why? "
" Adults are complex. Complicated. " (Y/N) explained and the little girl hummed, tilting her head.
" Really dad? "
" Yes love. " (Y/N) responds and she simply gets out of his lap to look at the pictures of her papa. She sighed quietly and glanced back at her dad.
" I want to meet uncle Bruce. " Anna stated and (Y/N)'s heart started beating faster and faster. He doesn't really want to. He doesn't want to open up those old wounds...
Would Bruce even want to meet her?
" I can try honey. " (Y/N) swallowed and Anna's smile was worth it. Really worth the anxiety and the stress he is about to go through. And maybe he needs family in this situation.
Support sounds great right now.
" Thank you dad. " Anna said and left to go back to her room. (Y/N) smiled. Bruce would love her.
But (Y/N) isn't going to like this.
That next morning, Anna went to kindergarten and (Y/N) has decided to call Bruce to set up a meeting. He can't just come by unannounced, even though the manor is also his, he just can't. It would be rude, considering the fact that Bruce had four boys, one biological it seems.
And Bruce took over the Wayne Enterprises too, so he must be busy. And being Batman too is not an easy feat. But around 10 am, (Y/N) called Bruce, nervous and anxious beyond belief. This is not something he would have done if it weren't for the fact that his daughter asked him too.
" (Y/N)? " It rang out in (Y/N)'s ear and (Y/N) took a deep breath.
" Yes, it's me B. " (Y/N) answered, using an old nickname from their childhood.
" It has been what, 5 years... " Bruce hesitated and (Y/N) let out a little yeah in response.
" How is life? " Bruce asked and (Y/N) teared up for a second before calming down.
" My husband passed away recently. " (Y/N) said and the silence was loud.
" I'm sorry to hear that... I didn't know you got married... " Bruce said and (Y/N) winced quietly.
" Yeah... It was small. We also adopted a little girl. " (Y/N) said and he swore he heard a deep breath on the other side.
" A nice change. " Bruce said and (Y/N) chuckled. A joke about the fact that Bruce has all boys... It's nice to joke around.
" And Anna wants to meet her uncle Bruce. "
" You talked to her about me? "
" Yup. She was curious. " (Y/N) answered and Bruce chuckled again. " And I need help... I feel like I'm drowning. " (Y/N) said, wiping his tears.
" What do you mean? " Bruce asked, wanting more explanation.
" I'm drowning in bills and I need some emotional support. And I don't want to seem like I'm calling for money, but- " (Y/N) started rambling, but Bruce cut him off.
" Don't. I know you didn't call for money. Besides, that's your money too. "
" Well, I lived humbly for so long, I forgot I was rich I guess. " (Y/N) chuckled quietly, sitting down on the couch in the process.
" I guess so... If you need help, I'll... I'll be more than happy to help. " Bruce offered, but (Y/N) sensed something more. But none the less, he decided to leave it be for now. " You can even move back with Anna. You know the manor has more than enough room. " Bruce offered and (Y/N) hesitated.
" Well... I would have to move Anna's kindergarten... And all that stuff." (Y/N) started and Bruce cur him off yet again.
" Don't worry about that now. You and your daughter need to have a stable environment. So drop by the manor. You can meet your nephews too. "
" It wouldn't be a bad idea. "
And that's how (Y/N) and Anna went to the Wayne Manor, the little girl being excited in the backseat of the car. She let out a sound of pure surprise when she saw the manor in it's full glory. " This is where uncle Bruce lives?! " She yelled and (Y/N) chuckled as he parked the car inside the manor yard.
" Is it true I have cousins? " She asked as (Y/N) quickly left the car and then moved to unbuckle her. She quickly ran out and (Y/N) sighed.
" Not so fast young lady! " (Y/N) yelled after her and the girl stopped, smiling at her dad, taking his hand as they walked up to the door. (Y/N) rang the bell, waiting for Alfred to open up. Oh God, this is weird to be here yet again after these 5 years.
Alfred quickly opened up with a smile and gave (Y/N) a tight hug.
" Oh I missed you master (Y/N). " Alfred said and (Y/N) nodded.
" You talk funny. " Anna said and Alfred chuckled, leaning down to look at the little girl.
" That's right, I do. Now come on miss, lets meet your cousins. " He said as he led the little girl inside, who was giggling happily. (Y/N) took a deep breath to compose himself before entering the manor, the place where his life started and changed so many times. He walked inside, breath hitching at the sight of his nephews, both adopted three and one biological, who looked just liked Bruce at that age...
It's just eerie...
He was caught off guard by a sudden hug from the oldest son by the looks of it. (Y/N) huffed from the force, but patted the back of the oldest son.
" I'm Dick, nice to meet you. " Dick said once he pulled away, a big smile on his face as he was shaking his hand with a firm shake.
" (Y/N), nice to meet you too. " (Y/N) said quietly, quickly glancing at Anna who was talking to Bruce quietly. Bruce seemed gentle with her and that's more than enough to ease his heart.
" I'm Tim. " Tim introduced himself to his uncle and (Y/N) noted to himself how tired Time looked, but maybe it's due to the fact that he was a vigilante. But something else was off, but that's something for another time.
" Jason... How come Bruce never told us about you? " Jason asked and (Y/N) shrugged his shoulders.
" We... Didn't end up on a good note... I guess guilt and anger. " (Y/N) says and Bruce listened from his spot with Anna, who was just talking away.
Jason hummed and moved to allow Damian to say hello to his blood uncle.
" Uncle. You look different than I imagined. " Damian said in his voice and (Y/N) swore it really was Bruce at age...
" Damian. You are a copy of your father. " (Y/N) noted and glanced at his daughter for a second, seeing how Bruce was holding Anna in his arms.
" I know, I've been told that. " Damian responded shortly. Just like Bruce. Jesus. It's eerie beyond belief.
" Anna, do you like books? " Bruce asked her and she nodded happily. Bruce turned to (Y/N) and his boys. " Can the boys take her to the library? " Bruce asked and (Y/N) knew that they had to talk about their relationship. What to do now and all that.
" Sure. " (Y/N) said and the boys, including Alfred, led the little girl to the library. She was so happy, just giggling, not even a sense of her father's turmoil.
" Can we go outside? I need a smoke. " (Y/N) said, taking his pack out already. Bruce simply opened the terrace door that lead to the garden, where they sat down.
(Y/N) lit up his cigarette and took a long drag, trying to ease his nerves. He let the smoke out and glanced at Bruce.
" This is weird... "
" I know. Look, you can always come back home. " Bruce said dryly and (Y/N) noticed the distance. Noticed the look.
" Look... We were stupid to fight like that... And you are not to blame... I am to blame too... " (Y/N) said as he took a long drag.
" No, it was me. All on me. " Bruce said, looking at the garden ahead, refusing to look at his brother from guilt.
" Don't say that... I think we need to repair our relationship. For your boys and for my daughter. And us too. I do miss my little annoying brother. "
Bruce didn't respond and just sighed.
" Don't blame yourself. " (Y/N) said as he blew the smoke yet again. " Do you want me to move back? Anna would like that. And it would make things easier for me too. " (Y/N) said quietly, finishing his cigarette in the ashtray.
" Don't be distant Bruce. "
Bruce sighed yet again. It was hard not to be distant in this situation. Especially when you think you are at fault for the fight.
" I would love to meet my niece more and try to be that fun uncle. I want to take some of your stress too. Some burdens off too. " Bruce said, still looking away.
He couldn't even look (Y/N) in the eyes.
(Y/N) just sighed. They really had a long way to go.

Shy priestess
Rhysand x reader
You were shy priestess working in the Library in Velaris who became friends with Morrigan. One day, she decided to became matchmaker and you became her first client.
warnings: smut (only indicated)
words: 3456
Tumblr media
You loved working in the library. Maybe a story about why you got this job and how you got to Velaris isn't that nice at all, working here bringed you peace you never thought you wanted in the first place. You were growing up in one of the Illyrian camps and all you knew your whole life was work. Now you also had plenty of things you had to do, but you still had some time you could spend by doing something you enjoy, like reading and painting, chatting with some other Priestess. For the first time in your life, you had someone you could call your friends. Most of them were quite shy at first, but you couldn't blame them, since you were practically the same. But after you warmed up to each other, becoming friends was easy with them. And that's how it exactly was with Morrigan. You knew who she was, a rather important person for your court. One time, she visited the Library looking for some old books and maps she promised to bring to the High lord and she met you, asking for help. She was very friendly and very talkative, so it was easy to spend time in her presence. She was asking you questions but wasn't pushing you to talk, she herself managed to ensure that there was no awkward silence.
One day Morrigan once again visited you, only for a chat, when she dropped a bomb “I almost forgot! Rhysand will come tomorrow. He is again looking for some old books about Prythian, I don't honestly know why, nor that I care“ she shrugged. “But last time, he was very happy with the books you helped find me. So I told him your name and he will come to you, so you can help him” you were just sorting books on the shelves, and after this information, you nearly dropped them all. Turning at her with a nervous expression on your face. “High lord? High lord is going to come tomorrow expecting me to help him? Are you kidding?” As much as you loved her, you wanted to punch her right now. “Oh don't worry, Rhys is maybe a pain in my ass, but he is a really nice gentleman to ladies. He will be happy with any advice you will give him” it was easy for her to say that and you knew that she didn't mean any harm, but you were scared. He was the most powerful High lord in Prythian and a man you have never met before, this didn't help your shyness and nervousness. “If you say so..” you mumbled to yourself, turned back at her and continued to stock books on the shelves. “Hey.. don't worry. I already told him about your shyness, he will not push you into talking much.” your cheeks were red as tomatoes, not liking that Mor was telling High lord about how much shy you are. It was a pure fact, but you still weren't comfortable with it. “I am not here for that long.. I am sure there is someone better than me, who would be happy to help him.” You argued with her, knowing in advance, that this was a lost fight. Morrigan grinned at you. “Don't be so insecure. You are working really hard and know probably more things about this Library than other Priestesses, which are here for many years.” this was complimenting you, you couldn't lie. “And beside that.. They are not as beautiful as you..” she winked at you and you laughed, thinking that she was flirting with you for a joke. “Oh Mor, thank you, but I am not interested..” She shakes her head. “I am serious. You are very clever and beautiful, give yourself a little credit. And I would love to have you in my family.” After this sentence, it finally hit you. “You cannot possibly be serious! Don't even try to say that the reason why you are sending the High Lord to me is in hope that you will get us together!” Once again, you wanted to punch her and then run into your room and cry. This was a nightmare. “No! I really think you are very clever and will help him.. Possibility of matching you two together is just another dream of mine. You know, I love Rhys, but he needs someone who will put him in his place and also help him with his responsibilities. And if it helps with your nerves, you are not the first, I am trying to set up with him. I have been doing this for a few years now.” She smiled at you innocently and You rolled your eyes at her in response, not believing this audacity of hers. “Yeah.. that's definitely something you should be proud of..”
The next day came too quickly. In the morning, you were deciding if you should get up or fake some terrible illness to avoid meeting with the High lord. You would be probably the first woman ever, who would do something like that. And it would not help anything.. Morrigan was way too stubborn for that. She would drag you to the House of wind, where she, High lord and other members of Inner circle live, only to introduce you two. Or she would drag High lord here another time, this time not giving you warning before head. Both scenarios seemed more embarrassing than meeting the High lord today, so you forced yourself to get up and get ready.
You weren't sure when the High lord would make his appearance. Secretly you were still hoping that Morrigan was maybe just joking with you and he wasn't coming. Your hopes were getting bigger and bigger with the evening coming. You were finishing your work, only being maybe half an hour to retiring to your room, so you could have a free evening, when you suddenly heard steps coming your way. Sounds of confident footsteps were echoing loudly, since no one but you was in this part of the Library. The voice in the back of your head was already telling who it is. Maybe it was because of how powerful his aura was, but you knew, felt, that it was no other than the High lord himself. Once the footsteps stopped, you turned to look at him and oh boy.. You were stunned. It was the first time you saw him. Of course you heard that he was supposed to be incredibly handsome, but this? He was big, obviously very strong, his hair was perfect, eyes were addictive to look at and his smirk.. He made your legs weak. For the first few seconds you were looking at him quietly and he was doing the same. The look in his eyes with which his eyes were scanning made your cheeks red. “It's nice to meet you, High lord.” You bowed lightly, finally remembering some manners. He nodded, “The pleasure is all mine.” Shit, even his voice was sexy. How can you survive this without embarrassing yourself? “As you know, I am looking for something about Prythian, the earlier history, the better.” His kind eyes were smiling at you, as you nodded and gestured behind him. “The oldest books we have on this topic are right behind you.” You said and walked past him to the shelves, picking up some books and turning to face him. “There is something about the foundation of Prythian and the next book is about the first High lords.” You said and gave them to him, his fingers brushed softly yours, which made your heart beat faster. “Thank you, Y/N.” You looked down on your dress. “You are welcome, High lord.” You said respectfully and you two fell into silence. He cleared his throat. “Mor told me a lot of things about you.” He continued this awkward conversation, you wanted to end this, it was weird. “Yes, I believe in that. She can be very.. sharing.” He chuckled at these words. “Well, I would use other words, but yes.. She is very sharing. I don't want to know anything she said about me, but be sure that she speaks very highly about you.” You knew Morrigan wasn't telling anything bad about you, she wasn't like that, but you still planned on cursing her the next time she will come to visit you. “I have no doubts about it.” Single sentence as response, but it still took a lot from you. “Well.. I should probably take my leave now. Thank you for your time.” He smiled at you and you did the same. “It was no trouble, don't worry.” After that, he left you all alone. You were looking at the place where he was standing only a few seconds ago, not looking away for several minutes, as you were in trance. This was the most embarrassing and awkward conversation you ever had. And yet.. you somehow still enjoyed it? High lord seemed really nice and was trying to start a small conversation with you, it was a shame that you didn't make it easier for him. Shaking head, you returned to your work, but you couldn't focus on it anymore.
And you couldn't focus for many days after the meeting with the High lord. Still thinking about it, daydreaming about him. You didn't know what he had done to you and you felt stupid. You spent hardly five minutes and you developed a crush on him. What was maybe even worse is that you knew you were not the only one who had a crush on him and you knew that you weren't any more special than the other girls he had met. Nothing, this was nothing, it couldn't be. You were being stupid. “Y/N? Helooo?” You heard Morrigan behind you, you turned, so you were now facing her. “Yes?” Morrigan put her hands or her hips, shaking her head at you. “What's wrong with you girl? I was shouting at you like crazy for a while now. Are you okay?” You inhaled deeply, blinking fast. “I am okay, don't worry. I was just.. thinking, lost in my thoughts.” You admitted, praying that she will not ask anything more, but it seemed that she didn't have to. Her lips turned into a smirk. “I wonder who you were thinking about..” She grabbed your arms and led you to the chairs, which were in the middle of the room, next to a table. “So, tell me everything about your meeting with Rhysand. I already heard his point of view, but I want to hear yours.” You placed your head into your hands. “Mor.. Please.. This is just.. weird. I don't like this.” She pursed her lips, not taking this as an answer. “Oh please! Don't tell me he isn't your type. I am not judging his appearance, because it would be awkward, but I know that many girls are throwing themselves on him. So, talk.” You groaned and tried to sort your thoughts. What should you tell her? “It wasn't a long conversation. He came, I gave him books, he told me that you are talking about me often and in a good way. And that's practically everything. Nothing more, nothing less.” You shrugged and stood up from your chair, walking back to the table where you were working before. She was still sitting in the same spot, watching you. “My dear Y/N.. I already knew that. And I also know that you know that this isn't the answer I was looking for.” You rolled your eyes at her, nor that she could see you. “Okay.. Okay.. He is handsome. And he was also very nice, I suppose. Are you satisfied now?” She squealed and pulled you into a hug. She was happy, at first you weren't sure if she heard you right and didn't imagine something else. “Calm down.. I only like him. It's not like I am telling you that we are dating. There is.. nothing. Nothing, you understand? Maybe he is nice, but that doesnt mean I will do anything about it.” She was clearly disappointed in your words and was going to take this. Not giving up, she winked at you. “Maybe you won't, but I will.”
Morrigan fulfilled her promise. The very next day, she came again and she was not the only one, she dragged Rhysand with her. The same scenario repeated the next day, the day after and after.. This meetings were embarrassing at first, but after some time, you warmed up to the High Lord, talking with him more comfortably, asking him questions and at one point you start forgetting Morrigan was here too. Of course she didn't mind. She was sitting quietly as a mouse and listening to you, most of the time smiling happily as she watched you two together. And one day? Rhysand came again, but this time without Morrigan. At first, you thought that she had more important work than being a matchmaker, but the next day, Rhysand came again, without her. “Is Morrigan ill or does she have so much work?” You asked him. Rhysand was sitting at the table with you, doing some paperwork, while you were looking at one book Clotho had given you, so that you can find some important information for her there. “She is perfectly well, why are you asking?” Rhysand looked up at you from his paper. “ You shrugged “Everytime you came, she was with you. I was just wondering if she is alright. It's a little bit weird that you are here without her.” You admitted to him. It was still unusual for you to talk with Rhysand as if he was a friend. Well.. in your mind, you were wishing that he could be something more than a friend, but you kept that to yourself, still thinking it was stupid from you. “Perhaps that's true.. But you know that I am not here because she forced me, right?” You raised your eyebrow. “You are not?” He once again managed to make your heart beat faster. The feeling as if you have butterflies in your stomach has also been added recently. “No, I am not. I.. to be honest, for the first time, I was here because of her. The next time, I took her with me for support and for you.” You didn't understand this right away. “For me?” He sighed and leaned back comfortably in the chair. “Yes. She told me that you were really shy and I saw that too. I wanted you to be more comfortable and well I thought that maybe with Mor, it would be easier for you.” Your cheeks were red, but you smiled at him. “That is so thoughtful and nice of you. Thank you.” He waved his hand, not wanting to take extra credits for what he did. “It was the smallest thing I could do. Nothing special, really.. But.. When we are already talking about this.. We both know why I was here for the first time. She tried to set us up. And I don't know how about you, but it worked for me..” He winked at you, a devilish smirk was on his lips, which you wanted to kiss so desperately.  “So I would like to invite you on a date. As you know, Starfall is coming and I was wondering if you would like to join me and my family. It's probably also time for you to meet them. Cassian is already very impatient and so is Azriel.” You were thinking for a while, before you finally nodded lightly, not knowing what did get yourself into.
“What I am saying is that you picked the wrong one for us. Little Rhysie is maybe a High lord, but I would be better. Just look at me!” You were after dinner in the house of Wind, on the night of Starfall, currently sitting on the couch with Cassian, who was already a little bit drunk. It was clear that he was saying those things to piss off Rhysand. And it was working. The male appeared next to you in a few seconds. “Cassian, can you go bother someone else? Azriel is having a calm evening, you can ruin his mood and not Y/N´s.” Rhysand was smirking at his brother, then he turned at you and his smile turned into a more honest one. “Who said that he was ruining my mood? And beside that, I think Cassian is a really good companion.” You decided to have a little fun with the High Lord. It worked, you saw change in his eyes, now they were challenging. “Oh my darling, I can show you that I am way better companion than he is. I only need to be one minute alone with you.” You pressed your legs together, as you felt your core throbbing. It was only one sentence, but it had a big impact. High Lord took your hand and helped you to stand up. “Come with me.” You followed him obediently, ignoring Cassian, when he was shouting at you to at least try to be quiet. You were glad that Mor wasn't here so she didn't see that, she would laugh at you  and then she would celebrate more than when she found out you were coming to the Starfall as Rhysand´s date. Rhysand led you to the small balcony on the other side of the house, so you could have some privacy, for the first time in this night. “You look breathtaking tonight.” Rhysand complimented you, still holding your hand, as you stood at the edge of the balcony, where there was a wonderful view of the city. “Thank you, you don't look bad yourself.” Every time you saw him, you thought the same thing, that he can possibly look better than before and yet.. It was true. You fell into comfortable silence, during which many stars appeared and started falling across the sky. It was amazing, you felt like you were dreaming. Feeling like a princess in this dress, standing next to your prince, who has now hugging you tightly. You weren't sure when he pulled you into his embrace, but you weren't protesting. You leaned your back against his strong chest and felt a little kiss on your exposed shoulder. You turned your head, so now you were facing him. His face was only centimeters from yours. You looked into his eyes and then on his lips. He understood what you were thinking of and leaned closer to you. He brushed his lips softly against yours, tasting you for the first time, but it wasn't enough for either of you. Your lips finally met, kissing properly this time, suddenly lost in each other. There wasn't anything but you two. Two souls, which had finally found each other. Two halves that came together.
“So.. I am waiting for your thanks.” Being woken up by Morrigan saying these words wasn't something you needed to experience, since you were in Rhysand ́s, your mates, bedroom and covered in nothing else but his white sheets. You groaned at her, burying your head in Rhysands chest, still half asleep. You had to catch up on your sleep, since Rhys decided to keep you awake for most of the night, pleasuring you, making you his. “We are grateful for your matchmaking skills, dear cousin, but I believe that this conversation can wait till later after we put some clothes on us.” She giggled happily, told you to take as much time as you need and left the room. “I'm wondering what clothes I am supposed to wear when you tore the only dress I have here last night.” You mumbled softly and sat up, while his sheets fell from your body, which was now exposed to him. Maybe you should cover up, but he already saw everything, so why bother. “Hmm.. “ Rhysands hand traveled from your bare back to your breast, finding one nipple and squeezed it. You bit your lips. “Today? You aren't going to put anything on yourself, because I am not going to let you get up from this bed, my darling. And tomorrow? I will buy you every dress in Velaris, if you wish.” You giggled “I think there is no need for that. I only need one.” Rhysand pushed you into the mattress and leaned over you. “If you think that I will allow you to leave the store with only one dress, you are pretty naive.” He started planting wet kisses on your neck, which already bore his marks from last night. “I am planning on spoiling you and there is no point arguing. I can be very convincing..” He licked his lips and let's say that you were convinced by him many times that day.

baby fever - shohei ohtani au
Tumblr media
summary: (i don't think this needs a summary, the title says it all lol)
word count: 10,584K
tags: fluff, mentions of sex, impregnation
other notes: midnight word vomit things~ i honestly didn't think i would be able to write something so soon after the one i posted on NYE but i'm blaming that video of shohei playing with some kids on my timeline. my thoughts have secured me a seat in hell.
enjoy and cry in delusion with me.
=====================================
Shohei couldn’t help himself but beam all the way home. He had spent his entire day surrounded by a group of kids no older than twelve years old, the youngest around five, to help facilitate the annual children sports camp at the elementary school he worked at. Being the only teacher who had played baseball during his primary and secondary years in school, he was elected by default to coach a few hours’ session of baseball basics to which he did not object. Aside from that, he also helped facilitate another few hours in assisting the lead teachers during the games like scavenger hunt, capture the flag, and water balloon dodgeball. The last one being his favorite, he was just supposed to be watching and making sure none of the kids get hurt, or if ever they do, he’d play medic when the need arises. Thankfully, his first aid skills were put to the backseat and he was joined in on the fun when one of the twelve-year old campers aimed a water gun at him. He had no choice but to retaliate. With his wide hands and arm support, he grabbed a bunch of water balloons and aimed at anyone within proximity, creating an entirely new chaos between the kids and the other teachers, too.
He had ended the day soaked and sore from all the laughing and running around trying to avoid the kids aiming at him. Thankfully, you had made sure to pack him extra clothes to change into. “Just in case you get a little too fun and get soaked in sweat,” you had said, ignoring Shohei’s initial comments on not needing extra clothes since he was not technically sleeping over for the night. But proven to be always right, he made a mental note to get you something special as a way to thank you for being, well, the best.
After he had changed into his comfy cotton pants and white shirt, he bid goodbye to everyone at camp, especially the kids he had made friends with. They hugged him and some even gave him DIY goodbye presents (one gave him a bracelet made out of plucked flowers and laced it around his wrist), a tall kid with glasses who must be around seven years old gave him his precious Snickers bar, almost melted, and the youngest girl of the bunch clung onto his leg and tried to stop him from leaving. These short but meaningful interactions touched Shohei that he almost felt bad for leaving.
“Will you teach us again next summer camp, Teacher?” one kid had asked.
“Hmm. Maybe, we’ll see,” Shohei beamed, eyeing the other teachers in response. If not for the lead teachers and school principal, he would not have been able to cross the schoolgate and reach his car. He waved one last goodbye to the kids who stood behind the gates and then drove away.
He couldn’t wait to go home to you and tell you about his day.
You were in the kitchen when you heard Shohei’s Corolla park in the garage. You continued tending to the Tsuyu broth and soba noodles that you were saving up for a warm day like this.
While Shohei was out for camp duties the entire day, you were able to finish the flower embroidery design you had been challenged with for over a week now. Being new to the craft, you had a slightly difficult time understanding the patterns in the first place, but once you got the hang of it, you were on a roll and without realizing it, you were already done. You regretted buying only one design thinking it would take you longer to complete it, and also considering that you were the type to abandon something when you feel overwhelmed or had just simply lost the fixation, just like the few hundred other abandoned projects you started this year. This time, however, you were so accomplished that you couldn’t wait for Shohei to come home and brag.
Upon his arrival, Shohei sees you busy in the kitchen, humming to Adele. He put his bag on the countertop and went straight to you, your back facing him. He embraced you from behind, leaning his chin on your shoulder and slightly shifted his weight against your body.
“Hey.”
“Hi.” You angled your face upwards to meet him and he planted a kiss straight to your lips. When you went back to what you were doing, he left kisses on the small spots on your neck and shoulder.
“Hmm, I love soba. I was craving for this.” He murmured against your skin. He still had his arms wrapped around, waiting for you to finish and give him your full attention.
“Really? Didn’t I tell you that I’m a mind-reader?” you joked and turned the stove off and faced Shohei.
“Yes and you are the best.” He did not waste another second and kissed you tastefully on the mouth. As soon as he got your attention, he made sure your tongue was preoccupied with his.
You stayed like that for a few seconds. A slow summer day deserves an equally slow and hot makeout session like this. Shohei put both his hands behind your back and you had no choice but to push your body closer to him while you coiled your hands behind the nape of his neck, tugging a few strands of his thick hair.
“What’s gotten you so worked up today, love?” you asked when you separated.
He pulled back, catching his breath and looked seriously at you.
“Let’s start doing it, love.”
“Do what?”
“Kids. Babies. I want to put a baby on you right now.” He massaged your lower back and showered your neck with more kisses.
“So sudden?” You looked at Shohei with bewilderment. You weren’t angry or anything, just a little surprised that he had suddenly brought it up. You had always known to use oral and physical contraception ever since you started dating and like an unspoken promise, you made sure that your relationship would not bear anything both of you didn’t feel like committing to yet. But this was definitely something new.
“I was just thinking… At camp, the kids loved playing with me… some even clung to me–like this–” he hugged you tightly in demonstration. “--and I almost choked up when I was driving away.”
“And…?”
“I played with kids the whole day, I realized that I really, really want to have kids.” He pouted.
In a way, Shohei had always been great with kids. You saw how he used to fawn over your neighbors’ kids and their tiny steps, how he’d wave to babies in strollers whenever you’d pass by them, smiling extra wide.
“Like, I really, really, really do. We’ve been married for three years now. Don’t you think it’s time for us to get pregnant?”
You were silent the whole time, looking straight into Shohei’s face, and trying to see any hint of him joshing around but he was nothing but serious with his dead set eyes and determination.
“What are you thinking, love?” He asked, getting fidgety after seeing you were quiet for a while.
“Are we even ready for kids? There are a lot of newer parents that get divorced after babies are born…” you trailed off. Shohei noticed your worry and decided to change the topic.
“I’m sorry, I won’t force it if you’re not comfortable.” he kissed your nose and pulled you into a tight hug. “The noodles look amazing! So much about my day, they can wait… What did you do all day without me?”
Dinner ensued and the pregnancy topic was never brought up again, much to your relief. Shohei was quite understanding and never the pushy type. He always made sure that when you both decide on anything, you were both in it, just like when he moved in with you after a year of dating, when you decided to get married a few months after, and then buying a house.
You felt no pressure whatsoever about creating a family with Shohei because he never pressured you or his family. You don’t know if you wanted kids at all. When you were single, you thought there was not a single good man left on earth but meeting Shohei had changed your mind. Maybe, with the right kind of man, it’d be possible to love and still be loved properly while having kids. So yes, maybe. Maybe one day, you’d want Shohei’s children but were waiting for the right time. You hoped maybe someday, bearing kids will not just be a reluctant maybe, but a definite, sure and unwavering yes.
Not until Shohei’s sister came to town to visit a few days later and brought their two year old daughter in tow. Shohei was ecstatic. He had fallen in love with his niece the moment he met her. He’d carry her as much as he could when they visited, buying her presents for every occasion, sometimes even when there’s really nothing to celebrate at all.
This time, when Shohei had picked up his niece, Nora, from her trolley and into his arms, kissing her lightly on the cheek, cooing and swinging her back and forth along with their boisterous laughter ringing around the house, you felt something shifted.
You felt the anxiety on your shoulders lift and leave your body, leaving you with an immense sensation of love and happiness. You sat at the dinner table watching Shohei play peekaboo with Nora while she sits on his lap, and couldn’t help but imagine Shohei carrying a baby–your offspring–while feeding her, or humming it to sleep. It sounds like a beautiful dream, doesn’t it?
Maybe, maybe, maybe.
After they had left and the house was silent again, you cornered Shohei in the kitchen, who was loading the dishes in the dishwasher. He was humming a Cocomelon nursery rhyme which you assumed was the same song he had played on his ipad with Nora.
“Shohei.” You tugged his arm and looked at him straight in the eyes.
“Yes, love?”
“Let’s do it.”
“Do what now?” He said mindlessly, pulling his sleeves down and shrugged off the kitchen apron.
“Fuck a baby into me, I said.” You raised your voice, unsure where to look.
It took him a few seconds to understand but when it finally dawned on him, he wasted no time and carried you into his arms bridal style.
When he pushed you onto the bed, kissing you hungrily, both of you still half-undressed, he suddenly pulled back and asked, “Wait, is this your new kink now? Seeing me with kids?”
“What, no.” Your hands busied on the buckle of Shohei’s belt and when that ordeal was done, had pulled his boxers down to touch him. Like a knee jerk reaction, his hips jerked forward to your hand.
Definitely.
“Hmm, this is going to be a long night,” he whispered, biting at the garter of your underwear and pulling it down with his teeth. “Are you sure you’re ready for this?”
Absolutely.
“I’ve never been so sure.”
You pushed yourself up on your elbows and met Shohei’s lips, while he slowly entered you, both of you adjusting to the size and feeling. He started thrusting in and out of you hungrily, as if on a mission, determined to fill you to the brim. And you, on the brink of pleasure and chasing your high, you couldn’t help but moan Shohei’s name and said, yes, yes, yes, over and over. Like an assurance statement, like a promise.
This is my yes, unquestionably, a hundred times over.

The hate on Roxy because she's a "bitch" and a "narcissist" and... wanting to get Gregory? (When literally everyone besides Freddy is also trying to kill him???) Is so fucking stupid and just shows how much you people hate female characters. I'm about to go in-
First of all, the bad talk at Gregory in SB was because she was hacked by Vanny, (even her behaviour when you see her through the vents in her room) obviously there was no way she'd actually talk like that to a KID, but alot of you seriously believe that. And yeah, ok, she says a few mean things, so what? SO WHAT? If this was Monty's, or maybe Bonnie's personality instead, would you be spewing hate at them, or continue to simp for them and call their behaviour hot? I know for a FACT that a lot of you would. Not all female characters have to be too sweet or quirky and silly for you to like.
Back to Roxy's bad talk, you may think "Well, none of the others bad talk him!!" Yeah, it's because everything Roxy says to him is actually targeted to herself. The game clearly showed us how she actually feels: crying alone in her room, constantly telling herself that she's not a loser, and questioning if everyone loves her. Her praising herself are reminders to feel like she's still loved more than anything.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And the one thing that boosted her confidence alot was her looks. Her looks clearly meant so much to her, and we see this in Help Wanted 2 as well, so obviously she would be furious and lose it if someone took that away from her, including her ability to see.
Tumblr media
And before I say anything else, I just wanna say that no I'm not angry at Gregory at all, he is just a child who was doing everything he can to survive, and if I were in his place, I would've done the same as well to protect myself. But at the same time, I understand Roxy's anger too. If I were someone who had very low self esteem that I reassure and prepare myself everyday to hang on, when one day, suddenly someone hits me with a whole go kart that shatters my entire body, and on top of that, they steal my eyes too? Yes, I wouldn't just be devasted, but I'd be very angry as well. Roxy was taken everything away from her, and was left to rot alone, I don't blame her for being angry at all.
Tumblr media
Now more onto Ruin, which shows us her true side all along.
In the dlc, I don't think (Or it's clear at this point) that any of them are hacked anymore, since we assume that Vanny left with Gregory and Freddy in the good ending, and Glitchtrap is gone. But with Chica and Monty, I feel like they've just lost themselves and are completely broken. Even when seeing Cassie, they still tried to kill her. But with Roxy, she was the only one who recognised her when she heard her voice, and even apologized for grabbing her.
Tumblr media
Later on, when Cassie stumbles onto Roxy again, this is where we see her TRUE self. Where she's sweet, soft, and not as mean as everyone made her out to be. (The way she gently speaks to her and holds her hand will never not make me cry) We know that from Roxy's lines, she was one of few who actually showed up to her birthday, since her friends didn't and was the reason why Cassie was crying in one of the cut outs we see. But Roxy was there for her, and she still remembered her special day, her favourite cake, and she was her number one - twice.
Tumblr media
This part CLEARLY shows you that Roxy isn't a selfish jerk who only cares about herself, she cares about the kids, and she cares a lot about Cassie. There's a reason why she's Cassie's favourite, right? And don't forget that she literally went up against the mimic to protect her!!!
Tumblr media
And I do wanna say that, no, this post isn't telling you that you're not allowed to dislike Roxy or criticise her at all, the issue is hating her character and personality when she would've been praised for it and called "hot" if she were Monty, Moon, Bonnie, or if she was Glamrock Foxy instead. (Which is... literally misogyny) Like, even before Ruin, there were people who hated Roxy for being a jerk, but then turn around and praise Monty when we see him being way more aggressive, while theorizing that he was the one KILLED Bonnie over jealousy. Not even because he was hacked, just... jealousy, and that's not him being 10 times worse than Roxy???
Don't forget the details in Monty's Gator Golf minigame, where in some levels, Freddy was always seen separated from the gang, and in the last level, you see Monty performing along side Roxy and Chica, while Freddy was thrown in the trash...
Tumblr media
To me, this is clearly because he's jealous at Freddy, and wants to be the star instead. And along side him possibly killing Bonnie...
I'm sorry, but while I do like Monty, he is literally WAY more of a jerk. Alot of you people believe he killed Bonnie, is extremely jealous, way more aggressive, and yet Roxy is the worst of all for saying "I bet you don't even have friends" to a child when she was HACKED? But yeah, also praise the literal child murderer and abuser for being "interesting" and a cool character, but no, Roxy is the worst because she's a bitch. It's just so ridiculous, and I'm not surprised in the slightest, female characters will always get this treatment.
Alright, it's finally out of my system, anyway stan Roxy.

[Name] thought that the chance that she and Aonung would make it back to Awa'atlu safe and unscathed was slim. The ocean was too placid for a normal night. There was a storm brewing.
"This isn't safe, Aonung, we should go stop at a small island and just...continue the journey home tomorrow." she suggested.
"Why? So I can suffer longer with you?" he scoffed, "no thank you." He rolled his eyes at her useless suggestion; going back to sailing to bring them home
"There is a storm brewing. For Eywa's sake Aonung! Will you just get rid of that 'mean boy' facade just this once so we could have a chance of surviving this!" she exclaimed, massaging her nose bridge.
"Calm down, freak. The water is so placid, there definitely won't be a storm anytime soon," he sighed, running his hands over his face.
"Yeah! That's why I know a storm is brewing—"
"Will you shut up? I'm trying to sail us back home and out of this mess!"
"Are you forgetting that you're the one that got us in this mess in the first place?"
He said nothing.
It was true though, he was the one that got them in that situation. It was his fault. He tried to trick [Name] to go out with him to hang out and start over, to put all the bullying and beating up in their past. He planned to leave her lost in the ocean. He knew that she was gonna die but he couldn't care less, though in the process of going to the place he was gonna leave her at, he realized that he didn't know his way back home. He had gotten lost as well.
Obviously, he never mentioned to [Name] that he original plan was to get her lost at sea. He was just too ashamed to say it.
"We are going to go home. Now. That is my final decision." he stated with a sharp tone as he stood close to her, facing her and pointing his finger to her chest.
"Fine, but don't blame me when we die." she replied, furious she pushed him away. "And get away from me, fish lips."
What [Name] thought, turned out to be true. A storm did form, and they were heading straight to it. The sky became darker, the waves got bigger and bigger. They would hear the sky rumbling. But still Aonung refused to turn back.
"We should turn back now Aonung, there is no chance we will make it through this unscathed." she suggested—again.
"No. We are going home."
"And how do you know this is the way home?"
"I just know it. Now quit being pessimistic, you're getting on my nerves."
"Fine, but if we get hurt or die, it is all your fault." with that, she went to the other side of the boat, away from him.
The sky roared loudly, letting out strong lightning and thunder. The clouds were just pure darkness. Rain poured furiously as the wind came charging at the water at high speed, creating gigantic waves. Their boat began to plunge from side to side, up and down.
The strong ocean produced huge waves in every direction, their boat was at the edge of breaking.
"I told you! We should've turned around, ugh how could you be so stupid!" [Name] exclaimed in annoyance. Angry at the Metkayina as it was his fault they were here.
"Shut up, freak!" he snapped, frantically running around their small boat, trying his very best to keep it afloat.
A huge wave formed right in front of them, devowering their boat whole. Raindrops felt like bullets to their skin.
There was a lighting, it had almost struck her, but it didn't; for before it could reach her, Aonung had pushed her out of the way. The lighting hit the boat instead, splitting it to pieces.
That was the last thing the both of them could remember before their vision went black.
She woke up first, finding herself laying on a wooden part of the boat—what was left of it at least—in the middle of the ocean, miles and miles away from home.
How long was she unconscious for?
She looked over to her side and saw the Metkayina boy laying beside her, unconscious. He had cuts and bruises all over his body, for a while she felt bad; she took pity on the boy. But then the thought of how much of an ass he is brought her back to her senses, he is a bad person, he deserved this.
"Aonung! Aonung!" she said, shaking him awake. He didn't respond for a while, tears were threatening to leave her eyes—until he finally opened his eyes.
His ocean blue eyes. She had always found his eyes mesmerizing, the first time she saw him she thought he was mesmerizing—though, she would never admit to this. It's a shame that he's such a horrible person, what a waste of such a beautiful face.
"Damn..." he uttered in a raspy voice, squinting and scratching his eyes as he was met with the bright light of the sun.
"Oh thank Eywa, you're alive." she sighed in relief. Aonung couldn't help but flutter at her concern.
Aonung sat up, looking around, trying his best to figure out where they were, but everything looked the same, blue ocean, blue skies, blue ocean, blue skies. "Where..." he spoke in confusion.
"...are we?" [Name] continued his sentence for him, "I don't know, stranded in the middle of the ocean with nowhere to go, I think?" she said sarcastically.
"Shut up," he groaned in annoyance, looking around more. He squinted his eyes, he noticed that there was a small island maybe three miles away. "there's an island there, don't know how you didn't notice that, I thought you were smart? Turns out I'm smarter" he teased, a light smirk formed on his lips, pointing towards the shape.
"Okay, if you're so smart, how do you suppose we get there?" she rolled her eyes, "we are literally sitting on a small piece of wood."
"Easy, we row ourselves there."
"We can't, this wood is too fragile, one wave will break it."
"So we swim."
"W-what? No. No, no, no absolutely not!" [Name] exclaimed, she wasn't dumb, stepping foot in those waters would be a death wish.
"Are you afraid?" he snickered, teasing her once more.
"Yes! We are far beyond the reef! You brought my brother beyond the reef and he almost died! Who knows what's in these waters? We could die, like actually die this time" she panicked.
"Calm down, you survived a storm." he rolled his eyes. "It's swimming there or nothing, don't tell me the ‘mighty freak’ is scared?"
"Fine let's do it." with that, they both jumped in. [Name] stayed near the boy. Holding onto his arm every time she hears a sound.
'You're gonna be fine, calm down.' he signed.
'Something is out there!'
'There isn't, now shut up and swim faster, you are so slow.'
'Sorry, I dont have such fat tails like you guys.' she rolled her eyes.
"See that wasn't so bad, it was so easy" Aonung bragged. They had finally, finally, got to the island.
"It took us three hours more or less!" she exclaimed out of breath.
She laid down at the sand, soaking up the comforting warm temperature of the sun. Aonung laid beside her, they both stayed there for a while, in silence; but this silence was different, it wasn't uncomfortable or weird, it was calm, the atmosphere was light, nothing can be heard besides the relaxing sound of the waves and the sound of the wind.
"So, what now?" Aonung asked, breaking the silence.
"What do you mean? I don't know, what's your plan?" she said, sitting up and looking at him blankly
"...I was expecting you to have a plan."
They look at each other with a blank expression in silence, "What." she said.
"Can't you call your Ikran or something and fly us outta here?"
"Okay, first of all, no I can't, we are too far away. Second, even if I manage to do that, how will we go home if we don't even know the way?"
"Well. Shit." he mumbled, running his hands through his face.
"Oh we are so fucked, I swear to Eywa, if you hadn't saved my life back in the boat I would kill you right now."
"Look, we'll find a way, okay?"
"I guess." she grumbled.
It was now eclipse, they surrounded a campfire, eating fruits they gathered earlier.
"Hey do you think they're looking for us?" [Name] asked with a mouthful of fruit in her mouth.
"Probably, I mean, your dad is Toruk Makto and he sure as hell won't let you die." he paused. "And as for me, I'm the son of the Olo'Eyktan. So yeah, the whole clan is probably looking for us."
She simply hummed in response.
"How long have we been gone for?" he asked
"I don't know, hard to say. Three days, more or less?"
"That long, huh."
A beat passed.
Another did. Silence surrounded them but it was not like the silence earlier, this one was heavy, like there were unsaid things that needed to come out of their mouths.
"So, Forest girl. I want to know more about you, I mean, we haven't been really the best of friends or friends at all, but seems like we'll be together for a while"
"Wow, did I just get promoted from 'freak' to 'forest girl'?" she said sarcastically, faking a shocked expression.
"I'm serious." he laughed.
"Okay, so what do you wanna know?" she asked, a slight smile on her face.
"How old are you?"
"14, you?"
"15."
"How do you like it here? I mean—back home I guess."
She paused for a while, "It's okay I guess, I don't know, it's a bit too calm for me." she mumbled.
"Too calm?"
"Yeah, I liked being in the war, I know that sounds horrible but it's all I've ever known." she said, voice barely above a whisper, looking down at the fruit in her hand.
He said nothing. Another silence surrounded the atmosphere around them.
"We should rest for the night, let's try to explore the island tomorrow, yeah?" he suggested.
"Yeah we should."
With that, they both layed down on the makeshift mat formed from leaves. None of them could sleep for that night, many things were left unsaid, and it bugged them.

Oooo to revel in joy at your take on House Pet AU!Rollo ~I cannot begin to say how much I love it when people delve a bit more into his hatred for magic/magic-relayed things!!
That is to say, regardless of AUs, how would you view his possible infatuation with the prefect? I always viewed it as plaguing as Esmeralda's presence if it is to relate it to Glorious Masquerade event: haunting to be more precise, the smoke of the fireplace dances in his tired vision to emulate their walk and dance, the light of the candle trembles and flickers like their gaze when they tried to take in the view of City of Flowers for the first time and whenever he hears a gleeful laugh lost in a crowd he almost wants to run to them and greet them, before remembering . . .
Ah, they are not here. They are forever lost across a sea on a stranded island. In that gilded cage of magic and wonder.
.
That's just how I view it!! What do you think of it?
-🪞
Hmmm let's see let's seeeee, I actually might have it where the relationship the Caretaker has with Rollo is a bit different depending if it's the Sanctuary AU or the House Pet AU.
Also, man I love it when any of you come and ramble in my inbox. I love people rambling at me. Please, don't hesitate to do so, it makes me so happy.
House Pet AU, being as lighthearted as it is, it's mostly just hi-jinks. Caretaker goes with Mozus to check out the college and the city as a potential move-in target and their pets were supposed to stay behind and be cared for by the others, buuuuuuut...
Yeah, the house pets somehow managed to follow and the Caretaker's phone was dead so any and all messages and calls just don't go through.
The bell ends up ringing and spreading its magic, and the house pets, being magical creatures themselves, end up mystified by the bell and just rush up to it to get as close to the magical source as possible.
So one can imagine why Rollo was having a near meltdown when he goes up there to see the bell sullied and a fuckton of pets drunk out of their minds on the magic the bell produces. It was a party up there.
Safe to say, Caretaker looks up and sees bursts of magic that is suspiciously familiar to their own pets magic casting patterns and just rushes in. Caretaker, being the Caretaker, manages to corral the pets together in record time and Rollo has never been more thankful. He would've been more angry, and kind of is honestly, but that command the Caretaker held over these wretched magical creatures caught his attention. Much like the bell, the Caretaker can order the little pets to start or stop their magic with just a word or a snap of the fingers.
So, in a hilarious fashion, Rollo has to grit his teeth and tolerate these energetic and troublesome pets because he wants to get along with the Caretaker.
Now the Sanctuary AU, Rollo gets a little... weirder, as one would expect. He's almost... eager, in a way, to reestablish the connection he lost with the Caretaker, like he's trying to find or coax out a kindred spirit in them.
It's a "distance makes the heart grow fonder," or more fixated in this case because the Caretaker has experienced a horrid tragedy at the hands of magic users. But then the Caretaker basically vanishes after news of the fire and kidnapping reach his ears and while he didn't rush to try and get in contact them, the fact that nothing he's doing is reaching them is causes this fixation to continue to grow. It's on the cusp of an obsession.
And the thing is, you can't really blame him for being like this, the Caretaker was so focused on getting their pets back that they basically let any other connection go cold beyond the most immediate people that are assisting in the search.
And, eventually, Rollo goes to the Caretaker's neighborhood, to the site where everything started, to the charred remains of their house.
The fire, Rollo can imagine it so clearly. Replays it as though a horrid, tragic record.
I think that would probably be the catalyst of Rollo going from unnerving to downright creepy.

Hi! Happy New Year! :3 I have a question regarding Mito. I do wonder how you think she impacts Gon? For the things I remember of her, she somehow admired Ging... But while looking back to the manga and the anime, I was left thinking about Mito being too kind with Gon but at the same time, secretive. If my memory isn't bad, she didn't tell him about Ging... Which I believe also made Gon question himself. It isn't easy for any adult to speak the truth, especially when matters like that are needed to be talked about. Also I believe it was hard for her, looking back when she was kinda alone.
So I was wondering what do you think about her and her role in the manga... Because Mito also is a really good character and a lot of the things she said truly shaped Gon, like the pinky promise... And she is also really well portrayed, as a human, who chose a certain kind of life, she is so complex!
Thank you in advance!
Belated Happy New Year! Apologies for taking a while to respond, there's a lot to dig into with Gon and Mito's relationship so I wanted to make sure to give it the proper time and thought!
As is often the case with HxH characters, I love that Mito has so much nuance to her. First off, it's impressive that she took on caring for Gon at such a young age--by the timeline, she was only around 13 when she insisted on caring for him. I'm sure Abe helped her as well, but that's quite an age to be caring for a 2 year old, and it must have required a lot of personal sacrifice for her, especially because she herself is an orphan.
Tumblr media
Of course, she clearly loves Gon and has done her best to care for him. It tells us a lot about their relationship that he simply thinks of her as his mom (even though he uses her name and a -san honorific when referring to her), to a degree where he even rejects wanting to know who his biological mother is. He certainly loves and values her a great deal.
Tumblr media
That said, she and Gon have secrets between them. She lies to Gon about his parents being dead for much of his life, and then lies again about Ging abandoning him. I assume her lies were simply trying to discourage Gon from doing...well, exactly what he ends up doing.
She admired and cared about Ging (worth noting he was the only other child on the island) and he left her behind in order to be a Hunter, then he didn't provide Gon with the care and stability Gon deserved in order to continue focusing on being a Hunter. I'm sure she has some awareness of how dangerous a life it is for Hunters. (Remember the scene where she tries to bend Gon's license in half? I posted it below, if you don't.) She's already lost both of her parents and Ging's father (her uncle) in a short period of time, not long after Ging left, of course she wouldn't want to lose Gon, too. But I definitely think these lies have an impact on Gon, which I'll get into more below.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, I can't entirely blame Mito for lying to Gon--she's a complex character with her reasons, like many of Togashi's characters. With how things end up going for him as a Hunter, her desire to keep her adopted son safe and home with her makes sense. Gon may be strong, smart, and capable for his age, but emotionally he's not able to handle the cruel world he finds himself thrust into. Even prior to Chimera Ant Arc, he made a number of risky gambles with his life. If he had died, I'm sure Mito would never forgiven herself for letting him go. I think she would be terribly distressed to find out about what happened in Chimera Ant Arc, which is why I wonder if Gon told her much about what happened. (I tend to guess he only told her bits and pieces, but didn't give her the whole picture.)
When Gon finds out the truth about Ging from Kite, he doesn't tell her what he knows until he's just about to leave for the Hunter Exam. This is a secret he kept from her for years. I'm sure he didn't want her to stop him from going after Ging, and I think it was easier for him to just internalize this information rather than confronting her about it. It's because he loves her and knows she cares about him that makes it harder to tell her that he knows she's been lying to him all along.
My own inference, but I've always thought Gon likely has feelings about not wanting to be a burden to Mito. She raised him like her own child, according to him, but he's aware that he's not her biological son, and he also must be aware of how young she was when raising him. I think he likely did his best to grow up fast and be independent and not rely on her too much, and he clearly spent a lot of time out in the wild and likely among the townspeople as well.
Of course Mito didn't intend to hurt him, but I do think her dishonesty is another factor that makes Gon want to prove he's strong, worthy, able to make it on his own--so she won't have to worry about him and keep things from him, and so he can find out the truth about Ging and the world at large on his own terms.
So, Mito is a sympathetic and even admirable character in some ways, but I do think her own traumas and fears lead her to hide things from Gon, which does complicate their relationship and also unintentionally adds fuel to the fire when it comes to Gon's mental health and sense of identity. Though, I believe her primary motive in doing that was trying to keep him safe, which is understandable with how things turn out for him in the path he chooses...
I'm sure she's happy to have him home safe with her for now, though I wonder how long that will last.
I hope this was helpful! I'm sure there's more I could get into, but I think this covers the major parts of their relationship.

Song Yan: I can guarantee I'll be good to you. I'll be good to you everyday. I'll never betray you nor neglect you. I'll try my best to create a better life for you. I can't guarantee if I am good enough to meet the requirements of you and your family. I know it's hard for you. I know if we're really being together, you'll have to suffer. I understand. But you have to stop coming into my life like this. Be together or never see each other. Make a decision.
This show give me all the angst I need. (For the fluff, I trust King The Land. But I am a hopeless case, seeking for something that can make my heart ache) And until this point it had been going very well even with some additions that don't happen in the source novel. I was okay with the changes because they suited the story and made the show more emotional.
But then...After this scene, I don't know why, they chose to go down a different path and lost the perfect opportunity to give us a deeper emotional aspect. We watched a bunch of filler episodes then they decided to go back to the source again but I felt like it wasn't a good pay-off for it. What a huge disappointment.
This scene was seriously good, don't get me wrong. It's one of my favorites both in the novel and the show. The extra shot to the boiling porridge was a nice detail. They tried to give many little things, the characters showed their vulnerability and mindset clearly...so a turning point very much for them and for the viewers. After this, I needed to see/watch the emotional turbulance, because this was implied before, no, not implied, said by the character himself.
"Some wounds, when I was young I took a hit, I was fine, and recovered quickly, but if it happens again at this age, it will be fatal."
The thing they didn't show in the show but happened in the novel is that her being silent here seriously ruined him. He became more depressed. The man who is a responsible firefighter got drunk for the first time after her silent rejection despite the fact that he might be called for an emergency mission at any time.
But he didn't blame her. He knew her so well and still defended her against his cousin. In the show this conversation between the cousins happened during a breakfast in a very normal way.
Sigh.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Zhai Miao: Didn't you say it would be better not to see each other? Then don't. Song Yan: But she came.
Also I don't know why they didn't show the importance of this line. It was a critical point to understand why he can forgive her despite everything she did.
As long as she comes back to him and shows what she feels, he is ready to take a step towards her. Because this is their dynamic. It started when she chose to go with her brother at the skate park. The next day she went to him and insisted that she would stay with him and he silently accepted her apology in the novel. The same scene was shown in the beginning of the episode but they didn't show what happened the next day part and we never got an explanation about how they were reconciled later. I mean, to me, this is so important to understand ML's mindset and feelings about her. They have had such a weird relationship from the very beginning and some scenes should be helpful not confusing.
End of the rant, I guess. I'll continue watching it, because like I said, they give me good kind of angst and the plot still has potential. Also I look forward to watching how my other favorite parts of the novel will be adapted.

I still am bitter about the whole plotline surrounding Harlan, and also to a smaller degree the whole confrontation between Allison and Viktor, so I guess I will postpone watching the rest of the season until I feel ready to continue.
I was pretty intrigued when it first was confirmed Allison would become darker this season, but right now, I can't quite bring myself to really sympathize with her character despite everything. At first, I did really like the direction her character took, but then the Harlan Plot happened and just... yeah, I disliked that. A lot.
But I already saw some posts discussing why people are treating Allison like a villain when Viktor did objectively worse things with a wider reach and it did make me pause and reflect on my own gut reaction to all this, and there were good arguments made about the different standards Allison and Viktor are held to.
And I think the reason why I at least have a harder time liking Allison than Viktor in season one comes down to one big difference between their plotline, which is intent.
I think a good comparison are their two big fights in season one and three, that I think really parallel each other.
Viktor's actions, while much more disastrous and should be held accountable for, were presented as made in the heat of high emotions, in the middle of an emotional breakdown, and for example the 'slitting Allison's throat' incident made clear that Viktor never would have done that if he had taken the time to think before act and he showed immediate regret the moment it happened.
In the season three fight, Allison acts and speaks with the clear intent to hurt Viktor as much as possible - her using her power against Viktor is framed as deliberate, she doesn't pause to be shocked by the outburst and doesn't regret it. The comment about the basement didn't slip out in the heat of the moment either but instead obviously carefully picked as an immediate way of causing more pain for Viktor (the way she takes time to close in on him, almost whispering the words directly in his ear).
Though, there is also a vital difference in why S1!Allison and S3!Viktor were blamed and attacked during their fights - Allison, the moment she realizes what she'd done, immediately comes clean to Viktor and she doesn't hide her mistakes. S3!Viktor meanwhile deliberately hid an important information from Allison and still tries to justify his decisions during the confrontation. Prior to this, they both were the only ones in the family trying to help the other (Allison trying to include and bond with Viktor in S1 while no one else looked out for him, Viktor comforting Allison about her daughter and trying to get the briefcase back while no one else seems interested in doing so. Ironically, despite being the ones that tried the most, they both also get blamed the most about the trauma and situation the other is in).
So, yeah, a lot of similarities but pretty important distinctions in the details.
I don't think we can objectively judge which ones worse or more in wrong, because everyone has a different view on how important a role intent should play in a moral judgement. If you consider the consequences of their actions more important, Viktor is less sympathetic. If you consider the intent behind their actions to be more important, Allison is less sympathetic. Viktor's worst actions are made impulsively, Allison's are calculated.
Also, I just liked and found Harlan much more sympathetic than Pogo which is why Allison's murder appears worse to me than Viktor's. This also comes down to intent, though this time the intent of their victims. Pogo helped and enabled Reginald's abuse and manipulation of Viktor, fully aware what he's doing, while Harlan lost control of his powers when his mother died. And like with Allison and Viktor, one character did terrible things with intent while the other did much worse with long-reaching consequences but accidentally.
As it turns out, I am more preoccupied with how they ended up making these decisions instead of the consequences which I think has a bit to do with that I prioritize the emotional aspect in characters more.
I'm not going to deny their degree of relatability plays into this as well, Viktor being neglected and ignored hits closer to home than Allison losing her husband and daughter because I have not yet experienced a loss to that degree. That again boils down to personal preference.
Again, this isn't written to say one character is more redeemable than the other or one is more villainous, but just to showcase there are many reasons why someone might like one character's corruption arc more and/or is able to forgive their actions more than the other despite their similarities.
While I have different opinions, others do consider Viktor's actions more unforgivable and you know what, that's fair.

Isn't bite also touch?
Chapter three, check chapter 4!
(Loki x Female demon!reader)
SUMMARY: Loki was saved by a demon and now the demon girl is attached to him like a cat is attached to catnip.
Is this trickery? Is this Devil lying to Loki to gift him punishment?
Tumblr media
The first thing you could sense as you awakened was the cold ground beneath your body, you tried to analyze your surroundings slowly and your mind hazed with confusion. Getting involved in all this certainly was a problem. Not that you minded the chaos, you actually find these situations quite appealing, you're just a bit surprised you managed to faint.
It didn't take you too long to realize you're in a prison cell once again, but this time, arrested inside of it. There were some bars by the side of your cell separating you from another area, you frowned and got up as quickly as possible to check.
Oh, it's just Loki. You're in a giant prison cell with Loki.
Well, too much for escaping.
You couldn't help but laugh when you realized what's going on. Loki was too distracted before to see that you woke up, and now he presented an incredulous look at your laughter.
“Why are you laughing?” He just looks tired.
“Oh lighten up, we escaped once we can do it again, you know.” You said as if it's nothing.
He sighed tirelessly, “I'm beginning to believe you don't know what you're doing and your only purpose on Earth is to annoy me.”
You smiled but his tired sighing bugged you for some reason, keeping it stalled in your mind, he must be tired, he hasn't slept.
“Well, maybe,” you kept smiling, and sat down again, putting your hands on your knees to rest your head on top of it. “Yeah, maybe that's it. I guess I'm missing the point too.” You were lost in thought and Loki looked curious at your statement.
“Great help, I see.” His curiosity didn't make his frustration go away, when he woke up the first thing he had to see was Stark's face acting all smugly as if every movement they made was already under his supervision all the time (it wasn't, obviously). The others didn't try to intervene with his bragging although they looked his way, some were annoyed and some others were just getting bored.
He was still glad he didn't see his brother with the rest of them, that would have potentially ruined his day. He couldn't help this anger that filled him for being caught, he recognized you were the one to blame, therefore his anger was screaming to be let out on you.
“I let myself get close to a demon and this happens, obviously, it's fantastic,” He said ironically. “This is all your fault,” He said matter-of-factly. Your frown deepened, you did try to protect the two of you. “And now I'm exactly where I was before, what do you think that feels like? To lose once again.”
“I tried to help, I don't know why th–”
“Oh you did? You're a demon, the least you could have done was to kill them all or at the very least, not be affected by whatever they used against us, that should be fairly simple to you, AND so would be killing them as you're barely capable of empathy.” He spat quickly, “I'm aware this must be some sort of punishment for me so congratulations, I'm being punished for my crimes, that's the only logical explanation.”
He lowered his head at the end, staring at the floor. And you shook your head anxiously, you didn't know why you were feeling so offended. “That's not true, I don't…” you hesitated continuing, he sounded odd, like he was expressing something he didn't allow to be shown when you were still at the cabin. “I don't…”
Your hands itched to touch the metal bars separating you, to get closer, so you tried, and it literally burned your skin. You violently flinched and hissed in reaction. “Shit, shit, shit!” You cursed, shaking your hand back and forth to make the burning stop. “How did I not see that coming?!”
That seemed to amuse the god on the other side.
“I don't know what they put in there but now it's specifically made to stop you.”
“That's not possible, how would they know?”
“They do know. Somehow, they wouldn't give me much details either.” He shrugged his shoulders dismissively and you rubbed your palms together, casually blowing some air onto your palms to make the sensation lower.
“I hate humans, especially these ones.” You dropped your head and looked around agitated. “I hate them, I hate them, I hate them. And…” You looked up to him once again with wide innocent eyes. “I'm not planning on punishing you.” You sounded so genuine, so convincing.
“A demon is a master of trickery in itself, I admire them, and I admire you for being such a great liar and attempting to lie to me. But I fear I won't fall for your tales, little demoness.” He smirked as he finished, you still seemed outrageously offended at his accusations. “My soul is likely to be damned for eternity.”
“I won't, I won't do anything against you! As you can clearly see!” Your hands trembled as you craved to touch the bars, so your whole body trembled too. You were shaking with frustration at having to say these kinds of words out loud, they sounded embarrassingly clingy and dramatic.  “I haven't done anything.”
The god blinked a few times in response, doubtful and mistrusting, passing his tongue briefly through his lips before speaking. “Little demoness…” his voice was raspy as he uttered the two godforsaken words and that sparked you with… something close to excitement, if you might put it that way. The nickname was unexpected.
The mix of feelings you were getting were borderline annoying for a being so used to apathy, you once again spared the time to blame the humans and your brief coexistence near them as fault. However the carnal desire wasn't unknown nor unwelcome.
“I promise, even though my words mean nothing to you, I promise you.” Your eyes got brighter as you expressed, “I don't know why but I don't hate it, everytime you use your powers. I… saw it in a prophecy, you're to be the one to bring Ragnarok, your magic is of such chaos capable of concerning even the greatest of human sorcerers.”
Loki considered your words, it felt good to have someone reassuring his value especially in the arts of magic, something he wasn't very often praised for. He considered you could be lying, but why would you be? He could sense the deviousness that resided within your presence but your actions made you seem like a ray of sunshine came out to the shape of a human. It was intriguing and often led Loki to believe he carried the hand of every situation, until the moment he stopped to question if you have any other intentions.
“I'll be honest when I say I'm not exactly deem on carrying about Midgardian sorcerers right now. Your praise feels meaningless and foolish.” He bickers, making his attempt at letting you down very clear. “You should know that my magic must concern them.”
You could feel his anger still bubbling inside him. You reckoned he must be trying to take everything out on you.
“You know I can still just–”
“Can you stop talking for a second? Or is it so difficult for you?” He suddenly snapped.
“Do not treat me this way…” You warn him, and your look hardens. “You can't do that, I'll talk as much as I want.” you said and you knew you were acting like a brat, you even crossed your arms.
“It's difficult then.” He looked around. “If only you'd stop and realize your mistakes maybe we wouldn't even be here.” He pointed at you.
“Oh why is it only my fault? I…” You put your hands down in defeat, suddenly out of words, you couldn't just say 'I tried to protect us', 'I wanted to be with you', that would be repeating the point, and it'd make you look pathetic.
He stared at your hands when you put them down, and he felt the sides of his lips curve up a little. You felt so frustrated the bars were blocking some things from you, his thoughts were mostly hissing with little unnoteworthy and confusing random thoughts.
“Your poor little devilish heart must be feeling so confused.” He proclaimed, “Does my magic affect you this deeply?” He shared a look with you that was so intense you stumbled and looked anywhere but his eyes, feeling nervous out of nowhere.
He chuckled, “Come on, demoness, there's no need to be so coy. Have you really not further questioned your enamored feelings for me? You must be drowning in passion, which makes me question your inhumane veracity. Which type of monster allows themselves to be so vulnerable so easily? Do you still want to keep your lie of being so easily infatuated with me?”
You blinked at him, his attempt at analyzing you just working on boring you. “If that's what you like to think, that's fine for me.”
“Fine? Just that?” He kept his penetrating stare on you, “This is useless.” He relaxed his back against the wall, dropping his gaze, giving up on the intense staring contest from before and then speaking again. “You should start working on that plan of freeing us.” He just roughly brought up.
You had an indescribable expression on your face now, uneasy because of the sudden change in conversation. You stared at the other side of the cell and pointed for him to look there. “See, I don't need to escape, I'm already free.”
When he turned his gaze to the other— actual free side of the cell, you were there, standing near the main door with your hands touching the entrance. He turned back to see if you were also in the cell with him, to check if this was an illusion… you weren't, you actually escaped.
“Human prison.” You just gave him a tight smile. “I've been to those quite a lot.”
“You could have just released us this entire time?! And you didn't?”
“You were insistent in picking up a fight with me, why did you even think I laughed in the first place? This is amateur work, what the humans did.”
“Then free me at once, demon!” He ordered.
“Ah! No, you should be careful, otherwise I won't free you at all. I quite enjoy seeing you all locked up now.” You gave him a very devilish mischievous grin and looked at the exit, you knew what would probably happen, but honestly was quite curious on discovering where it could lead to.
Tumblr media
It didn't take too long until you had to face Loki again, as you already expected. You left him in the cell.
“Hi.” You waved at him with both of your handcuffed hands and he just couldn't help but smile.
“You're so stupid, you should've been born a tiny imp instead of a demoness.” He shakes his head incredulously.
There were agents holding each of your three duplicates, one of them was holding your arm with a clawing intensity to the point of marking your skin a bit, you slowly turned around to see the masked agent, giving him a look so deadly you spent some five seconds wondering if you should kill him or not.
“Take your hands off of me. Now.” You said in a quick breath, the agent complied rudely, pushing you towards Loki.
You kept staring at him now completely flabbergasted.
“I'll murder him,” you pointed to the agent in the middle of the others, the one that was just holding you. “I'll kill him, I'll break your bones and drink the blood as a gift to the Devil himself.”
You recognized Loki was probably the only one in the room who knew you weren't so dramatically serious…for now.
“I pay no respect to demons.” He spat shaming on you, as the Avengers entered the room with a guy wearing an eyepatch. Although you didn't know who he was, everybody was surrounding him. The agent's thoughts were filled with passion for his family and images of crosses and crucifixes.
You were now on your side of the cell and your other fake duplicates were being held by two different agents.
“That's what you deserve for leaving me behind.” Loki said to you, probably wishing to offend you more.
“Yeah, yeah, I'm aware. Whatever.” Moving from one place to another was just making you dizzy and displeased. “Just wanted to have a little fun.” You shrugged.
“Was it fun while it lasted? Exploring this loathsome tower by yourself with your little illusions?”
“You should know better than anyone how fun duplicating can be.” You grinned as you looked at him, he looked right back and fought a smile in response.
Right before any of the people present could interrupt, another one of your duplicates —one they hadn't found before, burst the door open with a muscular blond man following in a hurry right behind.
You hummed to announce your presence and cleared your throat, “Hey, you guys are never gonna' guess what I just found.” Smiling and pointing to the worried god by your side.
“Ok, so who let that one escape?” The guy with the eyepatch just seemed pissed off and pointed to that duplicate of yourself. “Go and arrest her too! What are you even waiting for?!”
The other you lifted your arms as you already knew announcing yourself would lead to being arrested again, but you didn't mind.
“I found this man as he literally showed up out of nowhere!” You made a scene dramatically using your hands to represent the sky and a sudden light coming in surprise. “You know what I mean? Then he got all desperate, said he was looking for his brother and all.”
As everyone took a hold of the situation, Bruce burst through the door, panting out of breath. “I…” He lifted his hand up as a sign to wait, “I was the one to call him, I yelled at the sky to call him and the guy wouldn't even wait for me, I had to run here–”
“Loki!” The blond man brightly yelled, shocking the whole crowd of people.
You just sheepishly observe around where you're seated in the cold cell, it's rare those moments where you're surrounded by so many people at once. You took the time to look at Loki, as you've been doing quite a lot, he's like the only piece of familiarity out of the whole room.
His head is down and his expression is purely blant annoyance. His arms crossed and forehead settled in a frown, he already seemed pretty grumpy most of the time but it's like it multiplied as soon as he heard the blonde man's voice.
“Brother!”
“Is that Thor?” You quietly ask Loki, giving him a side glance. He ignores you.
“You must delight greatly from this, I'm sure, brother.” Loki spat the last word, presenting a stance from where he was standing in the cell. “To watch me lose one more time, I'm sure father must be feeling exquisite at my failure.”
“Father doesn't take any joy in watching as you commit more crimes–”
“Honestly your agents just aren't so qualified, as it shows.” Stark mumbled as he watched the agents finishing arresting the other you. “They let that one out of our sight, if it weren't for the huge alien falling from the sky once again we wouldn't even know there was another of her around.” Pointing at you. “And now we have to hear some family business.”
“I wasn't expecting to get involved in so many family talks to be honest, it feels personal.” Bruce picked on his hands.
“I can escape as many times I desire.” The original you huffed coldly from the prison cell.
“Oh I'm sure you can, but we want to know why you're here.” Said the eyepatch-man.
“Director Fury–” A dark-haired woman started to say before being interrupted.
“Agent Hill I'm going to need more background information on the creature.” He stared at you, “doesn't seem to be the Succubus type since our goth alien is still looking peachy which means his soul might be intact.”
“Goth alien?!” Loki exclaimed in disbelief. “Here goes me thinking this day couldn't get any worse...”
“This man knows nothing about me and wants to assume where I lay in the demonic spectrum–” You pointed at Fury.
“Honestly, so do I.” Loki glanced at you for a second to say.
“Ok, that's enough!” The man wearing a blue uniform with red stripes yelled silencing the room, making Loki roll his eyes in response. “Here's the thing…”
Tumblr media
You stared at your handcuffed hands in disbelief and proceeded to observe the team with curiosity. They surprisingly seemed more intended in finishing whatever matter they had with Loki before anything else, they knew you could escape any time and yet decided on attempting their best with any anti-demonic entities objects they could find.
For instance: your handcuffs were stupidly and frankly, quite hilariously, bathed in salt. And you were guessing that also probably a bit of holy water, perhaps. They did nothing but itch a little, whatever they put on the prison bars was stronger than this.
Yet you persevered and kept paying attention to what exactly they were planning on doing to you two.
“Father said your punishment ought to be paid by living among the midgardians. And I'm glad to be saying so Loki, the other option would be to keep you locked away for all of our godly eternity in a cell, to rot in your sins and regrets.”
“That's…wow.” Romanoff expressed and shook her head. “That would've been an option that deserves consideration, is all I'm saying.”
“Yeah, he's also always like this. Shakespearian much.” Bruce agreed regarding Thor's speech.
“I don't care whether he would be miserable or not, now, the daddy dearest wants us to deal with his problem child?! For free?” Tony huffed in annoyance. “And I thought we could have some peace.”
“We have to keep our eyes on him, on both of them.” Fury said, staring at you, in specific. ”We never know what they could be planning, and they're a team.”
You approached your body closer to Loki for some reason, he seemed overly tense so you touched his arm. He didn't make any move to push you away, focusing on their plans too. You noticed he's observant when it comes to unknown situations, just analyzing, typical of a trickster.
“Oh the little demon is about to get protective, think we hit a sore spot mentioning her victim.” Clint said as he paid attention to your movements, you realized he must have seen you getting closer to the god. “Don't worry, no one's taking your boyfriend away.”
You didn't enjoy their mocking. Your lips twitched and you wandered your gaze to their faces, not noticing you were practically clawing at Loki's arm with such strength you would later wonder how he didn't complain.
“Don't work her up, I said not to bother her,” Fury stopped Clint with his warning, “this goes for all of you. I won't repeat myself.” His eyes are studying you.
You didn't shrink under his gaze, if anything you just puffed your chest more and kept your overprotectiveness.
Loki turned to you with the softest look you've ever seen on him, stopping your tense anxious body when pressing his hands on your belly. “Calm down, little demoness.” He kept his tone light while speaking, and your eyes glazed when looking at him.
The trickster pretended to think for a few moments and turned to the others. “So we'll be forced to stay?”
“We want the demon to take our side.” The director explained. “We want to have some information that might be necessary to keep you both… safe, here, in the tower.” He hesitated. “We are conscious that you can just run away any time you wish, but we'd just keep looking for you in that case, it'd be a constant game of cat and mouse. With your powers one could never know what to expect, and that's what we work with here.”
Loki was now —subtly, with just one hand, rubbing his fingertips on your arm in soothing circular motions. His plan wasn't clear to you but you were feeling a lot calmer by the action, maybe that was his plan, to calm you down.
“You'll have to stay either way, but it'd be best if we could understand your nature and maybe cooperate with our rules?”
Your eyes reflected the adrenaline in your heart by your blowing pupils, “I don't follow rules.”
“Yes, but you're following him.” Stark brought up pointing at Loki again. "Reindeer games, I don't know what you've done but you attracted an obsessed spirit that just won't let you go. We aren't the ones you should be worried about.” He finished with a tight-lipped smile.
“Are you finished?” The dark god just asked.
“Yeah, do you think he minds it?” Natasha asked, jumping in conversation. “There's an alluring demoness clinging to his arm, and you think he'd be worried?”
Alluring, your heart fluttered at the woman's simple compliment. The Widow made sure not to look you in the eyes for too long.
“Does she come from Hell?” Bruce quietly bugged from behind Steve.
“You know you can ask her that, she's right here.” Steve spread his hand in front of him, to show where you're at.
“We don't know if she'll stay.” He shrugged. Is that his way of manipulating you to stay?
“Wouldn't you like to know?” You kept your voice steady and blank to emotions.
Loki just got agitated by the question, “Where else would she even come from? Being a demon, you think she'd come from some common place in this world?”
“It's not like I've ever seen a demon before!” Bruce quickly defended himself.
“My brother,” Thor jumped in to approach his brother, now that the topic was almost over. “I missed you!” He hurried to hold his brother in a tight embrace that got Loki suddenly bewildered and tried wriggling his way out before Thor could get too happy.
“Let go of me.” He was disgruntled and frantic to get out of the touchy contact. “I can't deal with any sentiments from you, from any of you.”
You frowned at the interaction, his words seemed to glum the very bright-looking man's mood. Thor's blue eyes quickly diverted to your figure as you were unmoving next to his grumpy brother.
“And this is the figure you're correlating yourself with.” He gave a huge shiny smile to you and your shocked gape was understandable whilst you processed his words. He got a hold of your right hand, lifting it to his lips as a polite greeting.
“Now… Wait, what? Why would you say it like that?” You chuckled soundlessly, feeling out of place.
“I didn't mean any disrespect, forgive me if you felt uncomfortable.” He hurried to explain as he sensed your discomfort.
This Nordic god, in a matter of height, seemed a bit taller than Loki but his muscles were more defined. A fact that was hard to ignore, seeing as it was quite present right in front of you. However, an important detail is that this god carried no… magic. You couldn't point exactly why the lack of magic running in his veins was evidently presentable to you.
Regardless, you felt the delicious rushing of rage that comes from Loki's anger. The feeling is overwhelming and just so tainted and ugly, any human would shiver at the intensity of it.
You told them your name aloud. Your voice suddenly mousy was a surprise even to you. You told them the name you use the most, for you carry a lot of titles, but just one real name.
You heard the dark prince mouth your name silently by your side, as if experimenting with the sound to match with his perspective of you.
Loki tried to decipher what your plan was, and then tried to whisk you away, however the asgardian sunshine busied your vision one more time to say his own name: Thor. “I know, I heard them saying it. You're the second son of Odin.”
“Actually, I'm the first. Firstborn.” He didn't seem offended, you just tried to brush it off. All the attention from the humans, adding the powerful enhanced beings, were honestly starting to get to you. You just shrugged, feeling his behavior was unimportant. “Honestly, brother, this is so you. To get together with a demon, a master in trickery, a deceiver by nature, just like you.” He sounded excited to mention.
“Don't. I've had enough.” Loki just dropped any touch he had on you and walked out the door, quickly some agents were hurrying to match his steps to follow him, he didn't pay them any serious attention.
The others just looked around to one another confirming that maybe it was okay to end the matters here.
“Can we expect your cooperation?” Fury brought up, at that moment he didn't even look like a leader from this secret organization, they all looked very similar in emotion when seeing through your eyes.
You don't give him an answer.

Hayley's character (Taylor's version)
I'm not even a Taylor swift fan, but I think the title works!
I felt like Hayley lost her character. I really do like Hayley. Even though she isn't an original. I believe she did deserve a storyline of her own. At least a character arc. I know Hayley's change in character could've been motherhood. But they never really focused much on it. I've written a character arc template for her.
Tumblr media
TVD Hayley Marshal was a kid looking for her family. She lived alone. She didn't mind doing bad things. Hayley was even smug about it in the vampire diaries, but who can blame her. At times, I thought the main cast was annoying with all their rainbow stickers and frequent "accidents". It is rather poetic the person she came to to give her information about her family becomes her family. I'll give them that. However, in the Originals, her arc should've been her realizing, no matter how badass she may think she is, The Mikaelson's- The originals are way worse. And then carry on with her written character. The writers could've simply done this by her doing questionable things- which she does in the first season, by putting Oliver against a wall , planting a seed of doubt in Davina, Going out to the 'doctors' when the Mikaelson's told her not to, or threatening Sophie Devereux. Keep those scenes but completely erase all this talk about Hayley being good, or hinting that she's good. Let the Mikaelson's plan something horrendous, and Klaus just expects her to go with it. And write a scene where he sees her hesitate, and he says something along the lines of "I thought you of all people would be ok with this." And after her child is born. Her depressive episodes would've made so much sense. Not that it doesn't make sense, "I don't want to live like this, Elijah" would be a great end to her character arc. As in Taylor's version we see her unravel instead of completely snap. Seems more thought out. Hayley did die and turn into a hybrid. Season two continues, I think this is when they should've invested in Haylijah. Elijah sees Hayley broken as a vampire and tries to help her. They should've let Elijah try to help, and let them be in a relationship after shortly, and then Hayley and Elijah break up because Elijah didn't tell her he loved her. We got Klaus to help her , so I'm good with my Klayley moments. I'm just saying they should've stoped Just completely break Haylijah off at the very start of the season, and the entire Jackson thing is fine. But Her and Jackson don't get married till' 2/3rds of the season. . Then start the Gialijah relationship towards the end and Gia dies at the end of season two due to Dhalia's plan.(We'd change how she dies but she still dies in the name of Dhalia) Hayley then stays her regular character in seasons three to five. Personally, I like Klayley, so let's add it. It can easily be written after Jackson dies, Both Hayley and Klaus could have an arc relating to wolves and taking care of their child. And she did die at the end of season five. As a vampire too, which was cruel. I don't know what Julie Plec has with orphans, but she seems to love to write them. Do you guys think she should also die in Taylor's version?

Between Us Episode 6 Commentary and Review
Tumblr media
For my previous episode commentary can be found here.
If you aren't ready for the pain. Well, you're in good company because me either. Why do you guys do this to me? Why do you always want me to review the most painful shows? I think I'm surrounded not only by brats, but Sadists. I can't even take enjoyment in knowing that you all will suffer with me. No! Because all of you like this sort of shit. I hate it here.
Okay, enough eternal distractions. Let's do this. You ever wonder what it would be like to watch yourself on TV. No? Yeah, me either. Yes, this is absolutely me continuing to try and distract from what's about to happen. Ahhhh, no. Team. Oh, thank god for Win. It's the Hia that brings Win from concern to now angry. Oh, the chin grab is very Dom. It not only allows you to control the motion of the face, but dish out punishment as well. The bite of fingers into the face can be painful, but not necessarily overly harsh. It gets results and is something you can do in public with few recognizing what's going on. I personally am a huge fan of facial control.
I really feel for both of them At this moment. I get where are both coming from. Ah, there's that fist. I'm really glad that he didn't actually hit him, but I can for sure see why he was so pissed. Plus, being scared on top of that, who wouldn't lose control? But a Dom who fully loses control and actually swings on their submissive can go fuck themselves. You don't have what it takes to be a Dom then. The object is to have control, not lose it. It's like the shitty Doms who brag about making their submissive use their safe word. That's not how this works, that's not how any of this works, shitheads.
The moment he is standing there with his fist up and team is just waiting, says so much about him as a sub. The way Win pulls him into a hug and then communicates through his pain. Ugh, my heart. Team finally comes out of his shock and hugs him back. "My heart is torn apart." "What would happen to me if something happened to you?" You guys are destroying me and that kissed did not help. Fuck, but the acting is top tier.
Oh, silence as punishment. Ugh, can't say I blame him, though. I hate using it for discipline, but sometimes it's for the Doms benefit besides being an effective punishment. Use it too often, and it's abusive, but so is saying shit out of anger. Sometimes silence is needed to figure out your own feelings. The first thought you think isn't just instinct, but it can also be about your conditioning and how you are raised. It's your thoughts after that first instinct that are actually you versus upbringing. So yeah, it's only natural that sometimes it takes longer to sort all that out.
Shit guys! We just started and I've written an essay. Sorry new followers. Run for the hills! Okay, not cool Win, you interrupted. He was trying to explain himself, and you really lost an opportunity to learn here. Are you listening, Win. Can you pull out of your anger long enough to hear? You're going to be a shitty Dom if can't. Because that boy is going to need patience and understanding. Oh look, he is. Good. Awe poor baby. All punishment and no kisses, but look at him bringing you to his home and caring for you.
Oh, you shithead. Telling him that you should have let him drown. If he has a full-blown panic attack, I'm not forgiving you!!! You better fucking apologize! Don't, nobody, give me shit. He is past the point in which it is acceptable to make painful verbal strikes. What Team did was wrong, but he wasn't intentionally trying to hurt someone, whereas Win is. He is lucky that Team is so damn forgiving, unlike him. They both love each other so much.
Oh boy, she just said friend. She told you that Win brought a friend with him, and you're just going to jump on the bed. 🤣🤣🤣 Poor Team, he is getting so abused. They were cuddling under those covers, I just know it. Team like, yeah, who am I. I’m dead. Their facial expressions are hilarious. Okay little bro, you really grew on me last episode but this episode, you are sliding home. You are such a little sibling. Not that I did this shit At All. Nope. Never.
Look at him showing off his grades, it's so cute. If not, fucking sad as fuck. You don't show your paper and grades to your siblings unless they are the ones to raise you. Bless it. Fuck, shit, I called it. I knew I did, but that's besides the point! Fucking episode, you could stop killing me any time now. Ohhhh, I love this kid. He is so fucking astute. He knows exactly who Team is to Win, and he just accepts him. Invites him to come too. Don't know Team as well as you thought you did, huh, Win. I did notice that he calls him P' Team.
Okay... The whole calling out Prince's name had me laughing. That shit was funny. That was super cute. Dean and Win's friendship is bro goals. I adore them. If you guys only knew the amount of distractions I have going on around me right now. Oh damn, Win dealing with some flashbacks. Oh damn, the fear of losing something you love. Oh damn, the insecurities. Tell him Dean!!! I mean, Win you are relatable in your stupidity, but damn. You think you wouldn't feel it if something happened to Dean or your family? And he left. You are going to be real lucky if Team isn't petty.
Okay now they are cringy. Is he really dancing around, why spraying that on himself? WTF. Okay Steve!!! Look at you finally not being a third wheel. Win picked you for support? Are we about to see some redeeming qualities? Oh, thank god, his brother came. We might actually get some decent advice. Sorry, Steve, I mean T. rex. You're back to being the third wheel. Look on the bright side, you get to stare at your crush.
Oh, you are a couple, dumbass. Don't go getting twisted just because your panties are. Look, Steve isn't so bad. At least he gives good caring facial expressions. Poor Win, though, he's so fucking relatable. Okay, I need one of you guys to pull some good advice out your ass. I know he is having a moment, but to not pick up when your sub calls is just not done. I like Dean and Pharm and all, but I'm going to forward because I comment a lot about them in my UWMA reviews.
Just the two of us. Look, no offense, but I don't blame him for ditching you guys. My homework assignment for the two of you is to find some friends and learn to give advice. And I mean friends where you aren't the third wheel to, Steve. filler, filler, and more filler. They pretty though. I'll give them that.
Oh, damn. I really didn't want to see that. I could have done without so much details. Now I'm a little grateful for the respite of the filler. "Yeah, do it, I like it." That was cute. I also like how they constantly looked at each other. That's one of my favorite things. Okay, so is the snuggling. NO! I'm not crying. Your crying. If anybody actually reads all this, I'm going to be shocked. Anybody else want to punch, Win right now? Like not really because he is still a favorite character, but damn! I'm all up in my feels right now.
The product placement video!!! Loved it!!! Well, hope that those of you who were able to get through this long ass thing enjoy. As a reward, I give you the link to my newest smut scene.
Enjoy 💜💜💜

Sometimes i want to mark down a moment that i feel like is important for characterization, but i don't feel like recording or making a clip so i just write it down (it also helps to nail down the way the character is talking) so here's Bdubs from today's episode
Bdubs: I just moved the animals to the backyard. They're back there somewhere, enjoying a nice place- Trust me, it's not torture. It's just a fenced-in area. (sighs) Sad. Do-Don't be sad, though. You're sad, I'm fine! I'm happy! I'm happy i lost! I-we-- Losing makes me so happy! We don't need that sign anymore, because we didn't win, so we can't give a prize to anybody, and people were really count'n' on me, and you guys were really count'n' on me, and i let ya down! Here's around the backyard, just down this pit down here. The animals are down by the lava over there, that's where i placed 'em, just so you know, for reference. Even my bee's leavin' me! It's just leavin'! (giggles)
There's something to be said about the way he reacts to bad things happening to him. It's also seen in the moment where Bdubs shows himself walking all the way back to the house (great job on the visual storytelling!), then tells the other guys: he's had a lot of time to think. Just reapawning, he was angry; as he walked, it transitioned to sadness; but then, it's respect. Bdubs is a very social person, he reads people well and he adjusts his own behavior based on the situation and who he's talking to, he trains this skill and he prides himself on his ability to trick people (seen particularly in how much he's being mischaracterized in fandom!), so he was filled with respect for the trio that killed him. In Bdubs's eyes, they made him feel cocky, which then led to his demise (haha get it), but, like, i think the other guys just? Accepted the trap didn't work and switched to just chatting? Ren was still ready to pull the trigger if Bdubs got close, but it was Bdubs who activated the trap in the end, being so sure he wouldn't die to it. He can't, he's lasted so long, he's a life series veteran, he's avoided and survived so many traps already! Maybe Bdubs realizes that there was no social trickery going on with Ren, Iskall and Beef, it was his own foolishness; but in his eyes, they're admirable for using Bdubs's weak spot, his ego, against him. Maybe Bdubs just tends to notice these things, maybe it's a way for him to shift the blame a little bit, "this didn't happen out of my own foolishness, they were really good at manipulating me!"
But, in the snippet i showed you? Bdubs fully blames himself. "you were counting on me, and i let you down" He's trying to console himself by saying he's actually happy (he means, relieved, to no longer have to watch his every step) that he lost. There's a sense of bittersweetness in his voice as he says it. At the same time, he's doing work around his base (what else is there to do?), he shows us his progress, he talks non-stop, as though distracting himself. And he sees this random bee flying by and jokes that it's leaving him, does his little giggle, but it can still hear the sadness in his voice. He's disappointed in himself, and he projects this disappointment onto the people who wrote their names on the signs and to the viewers ("i let ya down") and even onto this bee.
You see how he's not openly in anguish? How he speaks about his failure, casually amongst other things, still making jokes? How his voice is a little bittersweet, in a "i failed, but what can ya do" kind of way, and not in a bitter, upset "I'm a complete failure, i can't believe i skrewed this up" kind of way? Even though he feels like the second way, he speaks like the first, because he acknowledges that that's just how it is, so he peacefully continues work on his base, but with a heavy heart.
So yeah, here you go. A little analysis of Bdubs through the lens of a ficwriter, i guess. Hopefully now you can write better angst of Bdubs, lol.

Garrance: How to Save a Life
I live laugh love Garrance and I once edited the first part. And ever since like one day, I listened to How to Save a Life by The Fray and went "omg..." AND WAS LIKE THATS THEM!! It was actually in like 2021 and it was me imagining if I had artistic talent and making a general MCD edit of it but slowly its turned into a predominantly Garrance theme song for me and like. I NEED TO SPREAD THIS AGENDA!! Just a heads up, its 1am for me rn, I don't remember everything the clearest, and I'm literally just rambling so it wont be too organized or have consistent grammar or writing styles. ANYWHO cue the music
Step one, you say we need to talk He walks, you say, "Sit down, it's just a talk" He smiles politely back at you You stare politely right on through Some sort of window to your right As he goes left and you stay right Between the lines of fear and blame You begin to wonder why you came OKAY SO LIKE THIS WHOLE FIRST PART I always envision it as late season 1 Garrance. Specifically when Garroth had his depressive episode (WHICH BY THE WAY GUYS WAS NOT HIM BEING AN INCEL!! IT WAS HIM BEING DEPRESSED AND MANIPULATED AND MOST LIKELY BRAINWASHED STOP VILLAINIZING HIM). Laurance did try to talk to him in that one episode, and it obviously didn't work. Laurance CARES about Garroth, like thats obviously super clear, and to see someone close to him randomly go into hiding and act all depressed is scary to him. And then... THE WINDOW TO YOUR RIGHT IS QUITE LITERALLY THE PORTAL TO THE IRENE DIMENSION!! Garroth goes left (to Zane) and Laurance stays right (to Aphmau). THE LINES OF FEAR AND BLAME? Laurance finds out that Garroth was tricked. He's scared of Garroth rn because he's literally insane but he blames himself too, not just for being part of the illusion that made Garroth become like this, but also because he wasn't there to help him out more maybe. He could've saved him, but he couldn't, and it still plagues him especially after he escapes the Irene Dimension. Garroth is all alone there with his brother who wants to kill him.
Where did I go wrong? I lost a friend Somewhere along in the bitterness And I would have stayed up with you all night Had I known how to save a life Yes this continues with the last part. But Laurance lost a friend here. Like. Not just by Garroth betraying them, but by him getting stuck in a dimension thats practically torture. And the bitterness? ITS THE BITTERNESS GARROTH WAS LOST IN!!! Laurance would stay up with Garroth all night... but he didn't know how to save a life.
Let him know that you know best 'Cause after all, you do know best Try to slip past his defense Without granting innocence Lay down a list of what is wrong The things you've told him all along And pray to God He hears you And I pray to God He hears you, and Alright this is were a lot more interpretation comes in because once Garroth returns, they interact like... TWICE??? The scene were Laurance goes out of character and hates on Aaron (although he had a point) and when he finally saw Garroth again but Aph was dressed as Zane. I also don't remember the ending of Season 2 that much; most of my strongest memories of MCD is Season 1. So like. Bear with me here. But this is Garroth to Laurance now. Laurance is now going insane. The calling (whatever that is because it is so unclear) is well... calling to Laurance. To me, Laurance's mental health is literally just spiraling. And Garroth, someone who has had his fair share of mental health struggles, wants to help. He knows best; he knows to talk to people, he knows the dark paths it can bring people. He's trying to get through to Laurance and telling him whats wrong, how he can help. But of course, in this situation, Laurance can't listen. He can't hear Garroth, and Garroth's close connection with the religion in MCD is a bonus for the final lines too.
Where did I go wrong? I lost a friend Somewhere along in the bitterness And I would have stayed up with you all night Had I known how to save a life Of course the chorus is back because I have to explain this perspective too. By now, I imagine Laurance has left. Garroth feels guilty; someone who helped keep Aphmau together while he was gone and someone he loved. This is really simple but like, I can't skip over this.
As he begins to raise his voice You lower yours and grant him one last choice Drive until you lose the road Or break with the ones you've followed He will do one of two things He will admit to everything Or he'll say he's just not the same And you'll begin to wonder why you came AND NOW THIS IS BOTH PERSPECTIVES!! It shows the parallels between their own journeys. Let's start with Garroth, since we have more stuff on him. Garroth was very defensive during his depressive episode and during the final episode of season 1, he has one final choice. Go with Zane, or come to his senses. And he does admit to everything, but at first, he said he's just not the same. BECAUSE HE WASN'T!! HE WAS SAD AND MANIPULATED. But for Laurance, he would also be defensive about this. His own self will is being stripped from himself because of weird Nether laws and he's spiraling. Garroth tries to help... but he simply can't. There is nothing he can do. OR MAYBE THERE IS?? Idk this is kind of just in my mcd rewrite universe and i like to imagine theres some way Laurance does get better but at the same time realistically... would he?? The nether is like so strong. Like how would he do that. But he does have a choice: either go to the Nether, or stay with his group. He can either admit it's hard, or he's just changed and leave. And now the final chorus and everything plays and its kind of the same as before... ive gotten increasingly more eepy during this writing and I hope my rambling style got my ideas across because this song literally got in my top 5 spotify wrapped because i kept imagining garrance angst to it. its so them god one day i need to share stuff about my rewrite. theres so much random stuff i have in there and this song is really important to it. i just like. GARRANCE RAHHH. my former interpretations of this song also had an aphmau perspective, which does entirely work; like. imagine the final verses is mirroring her own experiences with garroth AND laurance. i love garrancemau (SHE HAS TWO HANDS!! ignore how i also ship her with two more people too she can just hug them all at once) but i cant put it into this song as much as i used to because its so garrance. theyre so ugh i love my sad little gay men!! anyways toodles my rant here is done

I was wondering if I could request some novelist with an s/o who has the occupation of being an assassin and headcanons about the first impressions and how they develop a crush on them
I'M SO HAPPY IM FINALLY GETTING ORPHY ASKS !!!!! here you go anon B)
also small cw for mentions of murder/blood
orpheus with an assassin s/o hcs📕
Tumblr media
orpheus is perhaps one of the most mysterious people in the manor since he doesn't have a lot of friends, nor does he interact with a lot of people
it's no different when you appear in the manor - however, orpheus is VERY good at reading people, and can sense if someone's too dangerous to be near them
even though he never directly approached you, you could see him lurking around the shadowy corners of the manor, his eyes following you each time you walked through the corridors
he's very fascinated, indeed, but doesn't want to approach you first since you seem like the type of person that doesn't tolerate any bullshit (/hj)
...sooo your initial proper meeting would be in a place where orpheus lurks often (aka the library)
you approached him, asking if he had a book you were trying to borrow
he leads you towards a bookcase, and as you're inspecting the covers, you hear him slowly yet clearly whisper behind you
"i thought things like books were not an assassin's field of interest."
you turned around, dumbfounded - how could he possibly know? it's something you've been keeping a secret from even your closest friends, for god's sake. he didn't even interact with you once during your time in the manor. something was up
you slowly approached him, muttering: "i... don't know who told you that, or how do you know, but all i'm asking from you is to keep it a secret." your hand roamed your thigh, taking out a sharpened switchblade and pointing it at him. "that secret goes into the grave with both me and you."
he was unphased, his neutral, lost-in-thought expression still in tact even after your threat. "i'm fine with that. alright then, you can continue searching. i'm only glad i clarified my suspicions."
after that orpheus wasn't to be seen around, yet you felt like he was constantly watching you, making you randomly shiver and look around in fear
yet one day, you hear an unexpected knock on the door, and oh boy guess who it is?? your brand new secret keeper in the flesh - orpheus himself
he just came to give you a book he thought you'd like - still weird. but as you open the first page, a letter falls out
it's undoubtedly his sharp, curved writing, the words confessing of how he sensed (and deduced) that you were an assassin, and an apology for the scare he gave you
it was peculiar, but you found yourself frequently turning towards the library afzer that, inhaling the smell of book paper and watching orpheus scrape the yellowed paper with his quill as if he was a precise machine
you decide to start chatting with him to pass the time
once his stern façade slowly dropped, you both realized it was really pleasant talking to each other - orpheus was like a crypted safe filled with treasure, and with each of his witty sentences and remarks you heard a click
he likes writing detective novels and often casually asks you detailed things about murder, or inspects your blades (if you let him)
"___, is hitting someone with a blunt object and blaming it on internal bleeding due to high blood pressure a good way to murder someone without getting caught?" "i suppose so. it depends on the other factors." "splendid."
he's not the best with speaking to someone in person so he confesses to you via letters - his letters could truly be considered his magnum opus. he puts so much love in them, every single sentence making you red and showing his love in the purest way possible
even though he's a romantic at heart pushing out his cute side will take some time
his love language is a mix of giving gifts and quality time - he's incredibly thoughtful with every gift he gives you, from a first-release edition of your favourite book from an antique shop, to a bouquet of your favorite flowers and to a small blade with a beautiful painted handle. of course, he likes both giving and receiving words of affirmation too, but he does it best on paper
if you're touchy it might take some time for him to get comfortable so he starts off with simple gestures like wrapping his arms around your waist or resting his head on your shoulder when he's behind you (it's his favorite thing in the world :'D)
just give him lots of time and space to get comfortable around you, he's truly a great partner and probably the best person you can be next to <3
