Soft retired!Dream headcannon:
I always imagined it was Death who brings him to Hob first, just shows up on his doorstep with a wildly disoriented former anthropomorphized personification, and a huge wild grin, chirping “I NEVER GET TO DO THIS THE OTHER WAY AROUND, THIS IS FUN!”
And that sticks in Hob’s head. He remembers once on a lark asking Dream when his birthday was, and Dream just stared at him for a solid minute and said, eventually, “Calendars were several eons away from being invented, at the time” and that was that. But then one morning, exactly one year from the day that Death knocked on Hob’s door, Dream shuffles out of their bedroom in his pajamas to find Hob, and his sister, balloons (black and silver), a birthday banner taped to the living room wall (black and silver, though Matthew begged to buy the pastel one that said HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY TO OUR BIG BOY), and a cake in the middle of the table (dark chocolate, raspberry filling). Matthew lands on his head and squawks “SURPRISE!!”
Once Dream wakes up enough to process what the hell is going on, he has to spend a good five minutes trying not to cry into Hob’s jumper. All he manages to say at first is, “You have informed me more than once that I cannot eat cake for breakfast.”
Matthew caws indignantly, “It’s your birthday, man! You can do anything you want!”
And Dream looks up at Hob, smoldering, and says, “Anything?”
(Death: Oi! Okay Dream, wait till everyone goes home to play with your present!
Matthew: OH EW QUIT IT!!!)
Let Dream play with his toys he's just a baby!
HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY TO OUR BIG BOY has me cackling I'd want that just to see Dream's face lmao
Tbh I love the idea of Hob giving Dream a birthday, either on the anniversary of his retirement, or on World Dream Day (September 25) I always have a soft spot for immortal/eldritch beings who've never had a birthday get bullied into a day that celebrates them 🥹

Can I just say, it's so lovely to get all these questions! ✨ I love this so much, thank you! 💝
First: I'm ok! Work is always stressful these days, I don't think it's going to give me a break until at least September. 😂 But it's not the worst right now. Tomorrow is my birthday and I just the best piece of chocolate cake humanity has to offer, so I'm cool right now. 😇 Just wish tomorrow wasn't Monday. 🥲
Second: I have read 7 books this year so far, but nothing that's stood out as being great, sadly. :( Still haven't had a 5 stars. I finished a thriller called None of This is True by Lisa Jewell which was pretty good, if you're into thrillers. 4 stars, maybe.
In terms of fanfiction, I've have been reading random pieces of non-Kc fic, as per usual 😂 But I have also read The Little Wolf by @morningstargirl666, which is absolutely fantastic, if you haven't read it yet. It's a retelling of the show's canon about the Original family and how they were turned into vampires, with special focus on Klaus' werewolf heritage, and it's so, so, so good! And so much better than canon! It actually gives depth to the siblings' relationships, and it has so many little nods to what we know of them in the future. Beautifully woven! I have also read Till I Tasted You by @kirythestitchwitch, which is a canon divergent AU where a spell goes wrong and Caroline ends up finding out Klaus is her soulmate. It's hot, it has absolutely nom-nom-able dialogues and A+++ interactions between KC, it features Damon getting his ass kicked! I don't know, it's just the whole package. 🤌
Third: This would be a very weird question if I hadn't spent an irrational amount of time thinking about that. 😂 I guess it really depends on what kind of universe you mean, because it varies. But I would very much like to have telekinesis like Prue in Charmed.
Fourth: That's a tough one. I'm an extremely critical person of my own writing, so it's hard for me to feel proud of stuff I've done tbh. 😂 But I think I was pretty proud when I finished The Wolf 2. It's not my personal favorite thing I've ever written, but I think it's probably my best written story. I really like the final part of that story, the way I managed to tie it back to TVD, I think it was very full circle and made the story a lot more unique. I also had a lot of fun writing the Mikaelsons and Caroline back in Mystic Falls after the time they spent in Nola. 😂 So maybe that.
Final: It's... going. 🥲 I took a pause after writing two chapters back to back, tried to work on some other stuff, and then I circled back to it. I've actually just started the next chapter, have a couple of scenes. I don't think this first chapter will be a long one, but I think it will take a lot of editing tbh. 😂 I haven't been at most inspired right now, so not sure how much of what I've written will stand the test of a re-read. I had plans to get a chapter out before the end of the month, but I'm not sure I'll manage it. 🥲 We'll see how this week goes. Pray for me.

soft headcanons ❤️: i am always always thinking about dream and food, and how he doesn't go on his post-escape binge like in the comics, and death offering the apple and him being like 'i'm not hungry' etc-- so then i think about hob offering him food and dream finally accepting it. hob thinking to himself that gosh his stranger has always been skinny but was he always THAT gaunt? and having the chance for dream to finally accept something from him, and get to help. and the food is made with love, so dream accepts it. and because he's really a being of feelings and ideas more than physical, the love and care itself is what nourishes him.

It shouldn't surprise anyone that I adore this (and if it does surprise you, read the most recent chapter of AWFA)
For those who haven't read it, I talk a lot about the metaphysics of Dream being nourished by the Dreaming. There's another chapter earlier on where Hob learns that telling stories about whatever's in front of Dream will help him enjoy it more.
And I think, just in general, my favourite thing is *seeing* that change, seeing Dream (as he does in the show) go from being all gaunt at the beginning to hale and healthy by the end. And I think of Hob watching the change with pride and satisfaction, knowing that he's a big part of helping Dream take care of himself ❤️ food is Hob's love language and you will never convince me otherwise. That Waking World food isn't so much about giving Dream nourishment as it is the story of care.
(Especially when I interpreted that scene with Death in AWFA not as Dream being not hungry, but that an apple wouldn't be nearly enough so it's better not to eat anything than to whet his appetite, and then Hob having none of it 🥰)

honestly, at first I was skeptical about The Wolf. I saw how long it is and that Caroline was a witch, and I was so sure I wouldn't be able to get over the first 3 chapter, because I have the attention of a gold fish. Now? now i blocked chrome so I can check everyday if there is an update. I re-read TW II/III every single day, especially at night. I even edited it and I will do it again. this series bring me so much joy. I've already said it on Ao3 (TW lll two or one chaps after Cami became a vamp) but this is MY TO. I've never seen it and after your amazing FFs, I refuse to do it because I know If I'll do it, I will be so much disappointed since it's different from TW. Have to thanks an amazing kc editor i follow (theshipdiaries on ig) for suggesting me this piece of art. And most importantly Thank YOU, Yokan <3
Tbh I know a lot of people won't even give the story a chance either because it's too long or because they just hate The Originals 🤣 I don't blame them, I might not start it myself if I hadn't written it. I'm just happy for all the people who have given it a shot, because I know the sheer length can be intimidating, as well as the whole magical baby thing. It's even more incredible that people are still starting this story now, in 2023, so many years after the shows ended and after I started writing it. So I'm very, very grateful to readers such as yourself, who leave me comments and let me know I'm not yet screaming into the void on my own, and for the lovely folks reccing it (thank you @theshipdiaries! ❤️). That's the best form of compliment and incentive a fic writer could possibly get.

Thank you for the tag @bipbops. I guess the first thing to know about me is I'm a professional procrastinator. Went to school for it and all. I have done a fine job again, I received this Feb. 16. That's not so bad --- just over a month to be moved by the spirit.

Currently watching: Blown Away on Netflix - Season 4. It's a glassblowing competition, kinda interesting for me. I plan to go back and watch the other seasons. Last week I watch the movies Maudie, Air and The Holdovers. Weekly I watch Survivor.
Currently obsessed with: Making edits of LT t-shirts. I've done a few lately, more to come. Music, art, puzzles, blue carnival glass, red on paper and flowers (see next).
Flowers: I enjoy giving flowers when someone reaches out to me. It has taken a bit for this flower to show up. Harry please pass the flower. Oh, he has headphones also - nice. x x
