Regulus and he flays people alive for even looking at james the wrong way. will fire an entire fucking department for gossiping about him and his 'cheap' clothes and how he takes public transport to work (james doesn't give a fuck. really. he will maintain eye contact while eating his meal prepped beef and noodles thank you very much).
james just isnt about that expensive life. this au is also for me to experiment with like a james that isn't rich when it comes to money but very rich when it comes to immaterial things! experiences. dynamics. love. the tiny things in life! he doesn't want grand gestures and doesn't want to be a sugar baby and will get mad when reg splurges on things bc _We don't need that_ and _I'm just fine looking after myself thank you_ and tbh I think the potter family is still well off but james wants to accomplish things on his own and is quite content living a modest life that's not wealth focussed!
like they have a date or some anniversary coming up and reg forgets bc he goes to a meeting instead and just leaves a quick message and buys james smth expensive as apology and james is absolutely not having it. absolutely ruins the thing he received, sends it back with a note 'My house. 11 p.m. Do not go to your meeting.' and angry fucks reg when he arrives bc ofc he didn't go to the meeting after seeing the note <3

Mirror's Edge (2008)
*Minor spoilers for certain gameplay sections of the game. I don't touch on the story at all (I could not give two shits to talk about it lmfoa)*
So. This game and I have some history, with me first getting this game through the EA humble bundle way back in middle school. Through the course from then until now, I have tried and dropped this game no less than 10 times. I always wondered why, considering every time I thought the parkour was magnificent, with amazing visuals. And as I was getting into the start of this game, my opinions held up. But through the progress of this game, I started to find cracks in its designs and frustrations I had.
TL;DR Game was fun, kinda fell off a bit in the second half. Platforming's great (with the exception of some quirks). Story is mid as hell but that's fine because the artstyle and art direction kinda carried that front. Pick it up on a sale or smth, that shit is like $3 rn in the steam sale, which is an insane deal.
First off, the story: it's mid. I thought the same back then, I think the same now. Not really that big of a deal, I didn't really come in for the story anyways. The parts that really frustrated me was both how finicky the minutia of parkour and the overall design philosophy of the levels were. The parkour was still quite fun, and it was honestly quite impressive for being one of the first games to really go in this direction (at least, that I know of), but honestly over time the age really started to show.There were many points where I would just fall off the wall while wall-running while not doing anything, getting caught on random objects that weren't even in front of me, or even sometimes landing on a platform after a jump, standing there for a full second with my stick in neutral, then the game randomly decides to just push me off and kill me. It can get a bit frustrating at times, but in isolation it would've been passable for the game's age and overall innovation.
The combat's alright. I found it fun to go for a no-gun run, so most of the time I would either just run away or try to stealth and parkour around to take out the enemies one by one. This was mostly fun, with the exception of one or two sequences where the game just throws a bunch of enemies with those assault rifle guys at you whose take-down windows are short (and delayed) as fuck. That's really lame, and honestly to those parts it took a lot of routing and dealing with enemy AI BS. The most egregious one was the last combat sequence of the game, where there are a bunch of enemies in a closed off area with you, and you had to pass the upper staircase to reach the objective while breaking some things in the room. First off, not only is it really hard to tell which particular ones you should break, but there's also the matter of the enemy placements just being absolutely BS if you're going for no-gun. You practically have to take them all out, with the biggest hindrance being the machine gun guy right at the end of the staircase, able to shoot you at anywhere on the upper level. Every way to approach him leaves you wide open for gunshots galore, and it was a very sour experience.
The thing that annoyed me the most, however, was how the levels were designed. The first couple levels feel real nice as they ease you into the mechanics of the game, with the places feeling wide enough for you to breathe yet still linear enough that you didn't really lose where to go. Over time, however, the stages started to have random pockets of space where it just leads to nothing nor does it add much to the environment. It honestly just frustrated me how whenever I went to look around for fun or for the collectables, there were just many random empty rooms or corridors that just left me confused as to why they existed, especially if they were after some difficult parkour. (Speaking of collectables, the runner's mark system is cool in concept but holy shit it's so hard to see. I tend to find the bags before even finding the mark, if I even find them. Just make them show up in the HUD if you're nearby or place them in a bit more visible areas, man.). On top of all of this, the linearity of the platforming was also kinda lame. I don't mind the game having a linear way to go at it, but I did find it wack how there were many times where I would try to look around and see if there were any other routes, but 8/10 times I would be disappointed. For a game about freedom fighting and parkour, they really wanted you to follow one specific way of parkour. It's kinda sad, considering that the game's platforming has great depth and skill ceiling that would take more than one playthrough to get down fully pat, I think that havin' different routes for the more experienced and/or creative to get familiar with could really help with the game's longevity. (Yes I am advocating for a design philosophy similar to the classic 2D Sonic games, those fuckers knew how to make a $60 game in the 90's have some bang for its buck, and those games and Mirror's Edge seem to be going for a similar kind of goal).
On top of that, sometimes the "puzzles" or finding our where to go next is really obtuse. Like mentioned earlier, near the end of the game I had to break some stuff, but not only until searching up what the hell I was doing wrong did I find out which items specifically to break, and that I only had to break one of each corner. Would've really helped if the comms guy indicated either of these information. There were also just many other cases where I was just stuck there trying to look around and just see where the fuck to go, because the game sometimes just doesn't highlight certain things with the Runner Vision, so I would end up accidentally walking into the right direction after 5 minutes and finding out a pipe that I could barely see before because it blended with the white wall just turned red. I will admit, however, that the Runner Vision really popped out most of the time, and these kind of cases were very rare.Speaking of Runner Vision though, holy shit there's one level where almost the entire place is all orange. Why the fuck would you do that. I couldn't see a barely visible ladder going down for like 5 minutes because it was damn near identical to the orange EVERYTHING. It was only that egregious to that degree in that one level, but man. What were they thinking.
Despite a lot of my complaints, I do have to say that I did still enjoy the game, at least to the point of beating the game without forcing myself to. Hell, there were multiple times where I was like "Ah man, I can't wait to continue playing the game," when I didn't have the chance to at that moment. I think the length of the game really helped, with it neither being too long to overstay its welcome nor too short, leaving me wanting for more. Despite not caring for the story itself, I always payed attention to the animated cutscenes, with its incredible cel-shaded artstyle and animation, making it really stand out from a lot of the other games at the time. The minimalist coloring of the world was also really cool, and made the Runner Vision pop out and be really visible. In terms of exploration, I found hiding the collectable runner bags were really great, and incentivized looking around and being more observant. The first half was definitely some of the most fun 3D first person platforming I've done in a loooong while, with it allowing you to be more free in how you want to tackle platforming challenges. Honestly, the foundations for a really great game are really there. If they were to fix up the little quirks with the platforming, along with better level design, I can definitely see the game standing the test of time. At its current state, however, I feel like the age is showing a bit. Now, does this mean I have incentive to go check out the sequel, Mirror's Edge Catalyst, and see if they fixed all of those problems? I don't know. That ending bit really did kinda leave a sour taste in my mouth, partially due to my own stubbornness and wanting to engage with the idea of being a runner by doing a no-gun run. It also doesn't help that everything I've heard about Catalyst isn't really bringing my hopes up either.

Hi, was just wondering what softwares you would recommend for digital art, I have a wacom tablet but so far have only used autodesk sketchbook just looking to branch out. Thanks!!!!
i’ve never used autodesk so i can’t say what features i have, but i’ll give a couple of suggestions!
(1) clip studio paint
VERY good deal especially when it goes on sale, which is often!
a lot of the same features as photoshop
brush engine is AMAAAAZING, simulates a lot of real-world brushes and with many customizable settings to boot
3d models to model and work with right on the canvas!!!! it’s great!!!!
customizable hotkeys which was a HUGE PLUS for me since i’m used to photoshop :”)
(2) photoshop
although i do not agree with adobe’s price point and i’d suggest this only if you get your hands on a free copy or smth, or get a subscription through your school/company etc
great standard to be used to particularly because a lot of people in the various industries use it
^ also means a lot ot tutorials
a ton of free brushes out there to simulate whatever you might need, spatters, foliage, etc.
(3) GIMP
open source and free
fewer tools than the 2 up there, but well, it’s free!!!!!
i used it for a year or before i got a hand on PS
personally, i use both photoshop and csp, and procreate (ipad only). i wouldn’t say one is for doodling and the other is for polished stuff or whatnot, because it’s really what you do with it and your personal preferences. hope this helps, pal!!

ohh so like a yandere version of the SR verse? i’ve definitely given it some thought, since i write 99% yandere content (or smth close to that at least, math was never my best subject). anyways i think that it’d be chaotic for any yanderes to deal with scarlet ribbon darling, seeing as having a stand that versatile gives plenty of opportunities to escape! giorno has the added benefit of being able to track darling down using his own ability, but it’d be a game of cat and mouse for a while. i’ll definitely write a yan version of it one day...

hello anon <3 i’m happy to know that you’ve been enjoying it!! trust me i’ve been having way too much fun fleshing everything out too, it’s been a Mega Muse . i still love writing yandere content the most, but i guess picturing a normal universe felt interesting in its own right. more possibilities open up. i had thought about it being everyone going yan, but i scrapped it when i realized that’d just lead to bucciarati’s team killing one another. i’ve given some thought to individual yandere’s in the universe though!

THE INITIAL ROOMMATE ... boy bruno was pretty excited! i picture reader waking up early some mornings to make him breakfast/coffee, as a way of saying thank you. reader would be very grateful and feel indebted to bruno for all the kindness he’s shown, especially since he’s not even charging rent for staying at his place! it all has a nice, domestic feeling that bruno never realized he longed for. i’m sure he knows it won’t last forever, as nice as that sounds.
even with all the times he reassured reader that money isn’t a problem, the thought of imposing on someone who has already given reader a lot is hard to get past. bruno had a bit of a stone face when reader mentioned becoming roommates with fugo, but ultimately wouldn’t want to monopolize her time or anything. he still gets to see her everyday! though he’s going to miss the special talks, and breakfasts ... :((
bruno probably picks up on fugo’s treatment towards reader before fugo even realizes how he feels lmao. he’s just hoping that no Funny business goes down, semi hypocritical as that may be. acting as a team leader means making scarifies for the well being of the group, and having to put his wants on the back burner. this is definitely one of those instances.

I LOOOVE FUGO... once i got a more solid characterization for him down, i wanted to write for him a lot. i really wish we got to see more of him in the anime, but purple haze feedback gave lots of good insights to him as well! i think that while he’s more of a serious character, he’s been shown to have some snark as well.

I'm trying very hard to do things, and be myself, which I don't feel like all the time.
also to keep a balance of not trying so hard that I burn all the way out again
...doing things hasn't been going so well. I'm not sure if the program I'm waitlisted for will accept my pitch of a disabled+otherwise marginalized collective (the idea is for a few specific branches of arts, partly for space/access reasons). I'm worried they'll get condescending about disability things and what we can keep up with, or say that it doesn't count as a business (the business aspect is in customization services, eg body modification, art sales, etc.)
I've been a little better in general since working on things in my head from the brain injury angle, which has been pretty neglegted. many thought trains I have ridden, recently. progress, progress.
it's a LOT less frustrating to understand why I'm this extra layer of frustrated, why I suddenly can't think, why my speech is stuck and staggered and slow and aphasic, why everything after scramble 1 is clunky static and after scramble 2 is a choppy haze.
so I've had a touch more patience, been reminding myself of that context, like hey, this and some other things happened. it's pretty normal to lose some stuff.
you can't fix it with willpower. or being pissed off about it. or sad. which doesn't mean to avoid those things; it's good to process grief.
just chill every once in a while and let yourself be the scrambled egg noodle bone exorcism-magnet basket of guts that you are.
which is like, nothing super new from everything I've said on trauma/disability/grief, but sometimes we gotta stop and consciously remind ourselves.

(disclaimer/clarification for the socially anxious: as always, this is just me in my brain, and not meant to be taken on by anyone outside of my brain! its come up in a variety of online & offline spaces over the years, and like other dysregulated responses, my reaction is for me to balance)
I get really weird when someone else says stuff to me that I used to advocate-- it's an ambivalence thing, on one hand, I'm happy for others learning and carrying the message on, especially being heard. on the other, it feels sort of bad to be reminded that I knew the things and shared the things, and mostly people would listen and the proceed to disregard until they heard it from someone who better fit their personal biases.
I'm aware of many things that mean I'm someone people tend not to listen to; it's why I stopped writing advocacy posts. the cost of effort is far too high for something that doesn't have much, if any, positive effect, and will have a positive effect coming from someone who is not me. knowing things quietly is ok, sometimes I hand useful info to someone who can say it better or louder or in place where it will have impact, and I don't need to be attached to it.
I guess this is ego, the part where I'm still miffed that when smth happened in my voice it wasn't worth anything, but the same thing holds value coming from a different, more generally socially acceptable [saner according to perception, abled or less perceptibly disabled, less poverty, more desirability, less overt queerness, less overt anything, etc] voice.
I don't like to feel contempt, in general, I try to dig into it and pull the corners of my compassion out from under it when it comes up.
I find that really overwhelming biases and double standards are especially challenging for me.
I'm working on shit. as always.
looks like it'll be a while before much creative stuff happens, so whatever webshop stuff is backburnered. I could probably do 1 by 1 commissions/clients, though piercings are already booked up for the next 3 "when I am able to"
(just. really not able lately. so many kidney stones. the infection is gone, at least!! but new stone is bigger so they want me to catch it and bring it to them if I somehow pass it before my next appt for them to look at it. what a party.)

if u have good painting stuff vibes, that is rlly what I wish to be doing, instead of lying in bed melting my brain with 75¢ payout surveys and games that are basically like... fake gambling, or bejeweled with zombies and ridiculous military propaganda, for what works out to about $1/hr in giftcard form. (like I have made almost $100 this month by grinding these apps, but if I could get out of my bed more than twice a week, I want to make art again so badly)

1. which season are you going to play with first?
well. i would love to see fall first, but my story is still taking place in late august/early september-ish.....so i might have to see summer first.
2. from what you’ve seen in the trailer, what are you most excited about?
holidays!!! i’m so excited for (what looked like) new years! i love holiday decorations. it’s not in the trailer, but custom holidays sounds fun!
3. what’s your favourite season irl?
F A L L. Not the beginning of fall, when it still feels like summer, but I mean actual fall. When it’s a little windy and it’s just starting to get cold.
4. what’s your favourite flower/plant?
this sounds basic, but i love roses and sunflowers. i also have some succulents that i have somehow kept alive. am i a plant mom yet
5. are you going to create a new sim/family or are you going to keep your current household?
keep the same household! i’m going to probably experience seasons for the first time with winnie & co., but i have a personal save that I’ve had since 2014 when i first got ts4.....i’m only on gen 4 of that family, but i jump in between like 20 households at this point. this is a story for another time. anyways, i’ll probably play more with the features of seasons in that save!
6. what would you like to see in this new add-on that we haven’t seen yet?
hmm.....i’m not sure i can really think of anything else, except maybe how weather will affect occult sims? pets? i’m not too sure...OH, will sims be more susceptible to illness in certain seasons/weather?
7. how do you feel about not having a new neighbourhood?
i’m fine with it. i don’t think seasons in ts3 came with a new world.......i dont remember though. i dont think you can really make a “themed” world for seasons. san myshuno was specifically crafted for city living because of apartments, festivals, etc. brindleton bay was specifically crafted for pets to be a small town, home-y place. i dont think you could do that with seasons, especially when half of them are complete opposites (summer/winter, spring/fall).
8. snow, rain, sun or wind?
depends on the temperature and where i am. if its not too hot, i like the sunshine! if i’m in my room, R A I N
9. favourite refreshing drink in summer?
there’s a place by my university famous for lemonade and their vanilla and peach flavors are the bomb.
10. favourite hot drink in winter?
hot chocolate or coffee! i’m not a big tea drinker, mostly just when i’m sick.
11. walk through the forest or by the beach?
dependent on where the forest is/how dense. being in the middle of the woods would freak me out, so i’d say beach!
12. swimming pool or ocean?
swimming pool for swimming, ocean for just relaxing.
13. where would you like to travel if you could leave right now for a week?
I want to go to Italy so badly, it’s beautiful and i’ve heard the people are so nice
14. how is the weather today?
G R O S S. it’s been so hot, and it’s been raining on and off so the humidity is through the roof. this is by far my least favorite weather.
15. what new traits would you like to see in the new add-on?
oooooo i don’t know.....maybe a new take on the loves the heat/cold traits we got in ts3....maybe a trait that marks your sims as “easily burned” if they stay outside too long in the summer!
16. do you like to play with supernatural creatures like vampires and aliens? and if so, would you like to have witches/fairies/elves?
unfortunately, no, not really - my gameplay is more realistically centered.
17. what is your favourite thing to do during winter?
we have a fireplace in my home so i like sitting in the living room with a hot drink and either a good book or a good tv show!

uh. i’m not sure...hike, maybe? OH WAIT there’s a big grassy lawn at my university and it’s nice to sit there on a blanket and study or play with dogs or smth.

no, i don’t! i usually have my tv on in the background though

creating sims! which sucks because i create so many i want to play with but i refuse to make any new saves outside of my story and my first save, so i dont usually get to incorporate them!

hmmmm. any pack? or just game or stuff packs? expansions, city living and pets. game pack.....i think parenthood. and stuff packs....laundry day and bowling i think have my favorite cas and build/buy things

oooooooooooooh boy. ummm i don’t know actually! university would be nice, but i think i want a tropical themed add-on more than anything! i want my sims at the actual beach. the bay is nice, but i want an island paradise kind of deal!

fantasy klance au
So I already have too many fics and AUs but this one is stuck in my head and I need to get it out one way or another.... SO TAKE IT
Garrison Trio:
Mostly set in the human capital city
Lance is an Elf mage but he hides those things because both Elves and mages are somewhat persecuted these days (elves are pretty rare anyway, especially out of their kingdom)
He lives with Hunk in his smithy shop, sometimes helping out
he’s better with helping with sales rather than the actual making but he also helps around the house
Hunk’s a pretty well known & liked weapons maker who learn from his father
His mother was a baker who also taught him how to cook (they live in a far away village where Hunk grew up)
Hunk met Lance on his journey when he first left his village to move to the city - they’ve been friends ever since
Pidge and her brother own and run a small, dodgy, but very lively & popular, tavern
just because she’s a small girl, do not think you can cheat her out of money, she can destroy a man
She sits behind the bar & tinkers or chats to Lance and/or Hunk when they come in, and sometimes serves drinks
The Tavern is the boys fave place to hang out
Broganes:
Shiro is known as The Black Prince - he’s a bit of a mysterious figure that was kind of adopted by the royal family of Altea (guess who they are lol)
He’s not a true prince, but he is given noble status and lives in the palace and is treated like family so it just became common practice to refer to him as a prince
Keith is known as The Dragon Knight - he’s even more mysterious
Next to no one knows his actual name or much else but they’re pretty sure he’s Prince Shiro’s brother or something??? Or squire??? apprentice??? bodyguard??????
Either way they’re pretty much never seen apart
They work together to do jobs for the Crown - secret and/or important jobs that need special attention (and fighting because, hell, they’re warriors, that’s what they’re trained to do)
They’re not true biological brothers - Shiro found Keith in a super bad state and pretty much adopted him
The age gap is a bit too small for father/son relationship though so... they’re very much like siblings
Keith isn’t human, either - He’s a Draconian, or Dragonkin - which is the kingdom’s enemy basically
nobody other than Shiro & the royal family know this about Keith - well, except for Lance, Hunk, & Pidge but nobody except Keith knows that they know.... if that makes sense?
Klance:
Lance and Hunk are working in the shop and some highborn dude and some lady friends are in there getting his weapon fixed or smth idk
and the ladies are gossiping
“Did you hear? The Black Prince and The Dragon Knight are finally back in the city! They’re holding a ball at the palace tonight to celebrate their return!” (they’ve been away for like, a month and a half at this point)
And Lance is all “what is this i hear??? a party?? for the returned heroes of the realm??? Where do I sign up??”
Except they kind of scoff because “you’re not a noble???” before going back to giggling about how maybe they’ll be the one to woo the Dragon Knight and get in his pants
And Lance is quietly snorting because man does he have info that you do not about your intended target
They leave and Hunk and Lance go to the tavern to see Pidge and Lance is immediately like “Pidge! You gotta get me into that party!!! I beg of you!! I desperately need to be there!!”
And Pidge of course is all “wtf kind of friend do you think I am?? I was already organising it from the moment I heard they were back in town. Because I’m amazing. You’ll be there.” And Lance thanks her profusely
Meanwhile, Keith is whining like a small child because “I don’t want to go to this stupid ball, Shiro! Why must I goooo???? I don’t do SOCIAL!” *flops dramatically onto the bed like a child throwing a tantrum*
Shiro is totally sick of this bullshit - some hero of the fucking realm this kid will be the end of me - you have to go keith because you’re p much treated like a prince same as me and you need to fucking represent the castle and also the whole damn party is for you and me and you need to be polite and also socialising is what nobles do and you are legit a noble like it or not ffs go get dressed properly no you can’t wear your armour to the party i love you but pls don’t test me i’m so fucking tired
So he goes to the party but partway through he sees something, or someone that shouldn’t be there and catches his interest and follow them out of the main hall - bye keef
And suddenly Shiro turns around and is all “He fucking snuck off??? The shit head! I’m gonna find him and drag him back to the party!!” And goes to find Keith
He barges into Keith’s room yelling for him only to find Keith with his tongue down some other boys throat (it’s Lance btw) and his response is a) wtf?????? and b) this random could be dangerous get tf away from my bro or i will slice you in half with my magic fake hand and don’t you dare use magic because my magic detection skills are through the roof and i’ve just noticed you’re a mage which is basically outlawed unless controlled by the government and who the hell are you?
He also then notices that Keith’s glamour is down and his horns and shit are fully visible and he is wholly unconcerned by this - which he shouldn’t be???
And Keith is super protective of Lance and will fight his own brother to protect this boy and if you touch him Shiro you will pay I swear on my life
After everyone calms down a little, we find out the truth
Lance and Keith have been dating for like, 3 years or smth now.
The reason Lance wanted to go to the ball was cuz he missed Keith like hell while he was away - and Keith def missed him too. an insane amount
They’re hiding it for so many reasons firstly because Lance is an elf and oh man that would not go down well with the public and also just cuz they think right now it’s the safest option
Once he processes this, Shiro is super supportive
Idk where I’m going from there but it’s a lot of hijinks and adventure with the gang in various fantasy roles
hunk is tank or healer? Pidge like a rogue or support? Lance obvs powerful mage, Keith is dragon knight/dark knight kind of role, shiro... paladin??? i’m getting there

TAEYEON
Probably has three kids since she grew up with an older brother and a younger sister. She loved her childhood and wants her kids to have the same experience

They’d grow up to be respected doctors or lawyers, but if they happened to want to pursue another career, Seohyun would be fine with it. After all, they could get any job with the brains they had.

1:28am thoughts [pt.1]
academic and personal goals for the year, also plans for the future and uni in general?
i was going to do a first ib finals report bUT i figured i’d wait until i receive all my scores + sem 1 report..... so far my grades are v nice but whenever someone mentions uni i’m left in a state of ~utter confusion~
p.s. my studyblr is going to be in semi-hiatus mode? because keeping up with actual schoolwork is more important than studyblr-ing lets be real (add in cas, ia + ee proposals, ah the beauty of being in ib....). it’ll also be less reblogs and more personal quality posts. feel free to unfollow me if you’re just looking for aesthetic reblogs ahh the sole purpose of this thing is to document my academic journey, maybe, somehow (?)
p.p.s. studying japanese intensively for this year so my blog is now a mix of studyblr + japanese langblr ;; and in the next few months, i feel like it’ll be an appblr as well.... :’)))
so i just finished adding my appblr page to keep myself accountable!
this might change in the future but yes....,, my heart is dead set on the monbugakusho scholarship ;_; it’s highly coveted, and out of thousands of applicants each year, less than a hundred is chosen. HOWEVER it covers full tuition fees, living costs, monthly allowance.... cherry on top is that you can go anywhere in Japan. fully funded.
studying in japan is a lifelong goal for me. however the requirements to just get pass the screening of this scholarship is either pass national exams with an average of 8.4 - THIS IS WHERE I GET FUCKIN scared because i’m already used to ib-style questions. aka. what are multiple choices!!!1! and how do i do a math paper without a calculator!!1! what science exam should i take bc i’m doing ess!!!
on top of that... the added stress of doing national exams AND ib exams simultaneously. life is looking Good /laughs dryly/
going back to the ‘either’ - if in case i fail (oh God no BUT) national exams or decide to not take it, i can submit a JLPT N3 certificate (pass obvi). THIS is my way to go because hey,, i’ve been studying japanese for 2~3 years now,, and getting the jlpt would be an edge when applying and living in japan later on!! however.... HOWEVER....
my school would usually make national exams prep classes compulsory AND even if i decide to not take it, i’ll still study, so...
national exams are FREE tbh if i have studied (such as the case above) might as well go for it...
JLPT is paid. the exams are only run twice a year. NO WAY I CAN FUCKIN GO FOR N3 RIGHT IN JULY, so december would be my way go. i’d already be in ib2 right then, drowning in apps and coursework... dec 2017 is my only chance.....
my jlpt level. self-evaluating, i’m an n5 right now. jumping a level would not be an easy task FFFF
jlpt n3 in ~10 months is actually pretty realistic but then i have to intensively study ;__;
and this is more of a First World Problem but guess who’s parents doesn’t let her daughter take jp tutoring... so i gotta rely on all the jlpt prep books and free resources HUFFFHJD
i might do n5/n4 in july 2017 though. for the taste of it before n3 OTL
after the screening itself, there’s still a scholarship test WHICH is probably similar to nationals... so national exams would be a good training as well

there are other scholarships i’m eyeing, this time from hong kong. hk is near japan, it’s a nice place!!!
and this time there are two pools - HKSAR and Belt&Road. they’re both like monbugakusho bc they cover full tuition costs; not sure about the living costs and monthly allowances though.
Belt&Road is especially something i shouldn’t miss BECAUSE THE POOL IS B/N MALAYSIANS AND INDONESIANS IN HK... it’s smaller...
the thing is;; there’s not much information about these scholarships that are comprehensive alike monbugakusho. but i’m sure they’re looking for leadership traits, extracurriculars, yada yada
