Ranting about Nucani

There is something I want to express and this fandom should know.

Nu: Carnival is a Harem game but unlike most games in the genre the relationships with MC are all canon within the same story, there are no "Routes", no "Alternate Universe/Timelines", it's all 1 Main Story where you get to gradually meet all the Characters who'll be your companions, in this game named Clan members, and all of them one way or another end up falling for Eiden (MC), which makes polyam relationship canon with Eiden as the center:

Like very few games have polyam representation, let alone a positive one, like yes the polycule it's very Eiden central but even then all the Clan Members interact with one another, as we see mainly in the time limited Events but also in the Main Story, and have friendly and amicable interactions, they rely on one another sometimes even without Eiden being involved.

But also, Aster and Morvay have a relationship established too since way before the events of the prologue of the game, Kuya and Quincy have hinted some sort of situationship (idk I don't care about Quincy and my knowledge about Kuya is limited to what happens in the story and events cause I have no limited SSRs nor have I read any of his Intimacy Rooms).

[Also if any of you knows of any other relationship that have been hinted at that i'm missing feel free to share, i specifically ask of you to refer to only canon, i know in fanon anything and everything is possible and sometimes we may be missperceiving some interactions between characters so i ask of you to take those rose tinted glasses off and see unfiltered canon, it's hard for me too ngl so dw]

All this started with some posts I saw about ppl feeling bad for Yakumo and/or Edmond to be "forced into a polyam relationship" when they are the "most romantic members" and "deserve a monogamous relationship", their words not mine, as if mono > poly , but also do you really think they're against it!?

One thing is being Clan Members against their will (which is all Huey's fault btw), having to work together to regulate the Altars' Essence (or their own) and then another one completely is involving themselves in a personal and intimate way with Eiden, which the latter they all did in their own terms and out of free will.

Also i wanna share one of the best and my fav scenes with Karu, which i know not everyone was able to experience it cause it's hidden in the Intimacy Rooms of a Limited SSR, but it expresses exactly why the polycule is consensual.

Context: Eiden has been worrying about forcing the Clan Members to be with him because he is the New Grand Sorcerer, against their will just because of Huey's magic that ties them together and the responsibility of Regulating the Altars and basically maintaining stability in the Klein Continent.

His worries began (at least that i noticed) in "Eerie Escapade" (Halloween Event), that was also the first time Garu got hurt while protecting Eiden and the first time Karu got mad at him and fronted to yell at Eiden (which is my another fav scene of Karu omg i love him so much i gotta go back and take screenshots of that but that's for another post), the second one being in "Army x Blood x Oath" (which are the screenshots i'll show u)

Because this are the Intimacy Rooms of Garu/Karu's Limited SSR this scene focuses on Eiden feeling guilty because Garu got hurt in the past (Halloween Event) and this time he lost his memory (temporarily, due to this event's story) and Eiden blaming himself for it all and wondering if they would be better off without him, but the same can and is applied to the rest of the Clan Members, seeing how Eiden met and approached Rei while respecting his privacy and independency even tho he's also a Clan Member and the newest introduced in the story, means that the Limited Events are also canon and part of the story because Eiden seems to be growing and learning from previous Events and showing that development in future Events and the Main Story.

Karu also mentions that Garu (prior to losing his memories) was also worrying about the same thing Eiden was, like 'what if Master (Eiden) stays with us just because of the contract with Huey? :c' and he calls them both idiots because they don't communicate and fronts to fix it! (Mighty Karu to the rescue)

And talking about "Eerie Escapade" that is also the event where Yakumo's possessiveness towards Eiden shows, i'll admit i haven't seen the last room but i feel like those people i mentioned before are using it as fuel to their idea, because if Yakumo is jealous of other Clan Members interacting with Eiden and "Wants him all to himself" that must mean he wants a monogamous relationship, right?

WRONG!

That just means Yakumo is a complex person that feels different emotions specially when it comes to the most important person in his life (Eiden) other than his grandparents!

And Yakumo feels guilty for having those feelings, not because of them being in a polycule and he not wanting to be in it, but because he has trauma and sees his desires and wants as selfishness and he would never allow himself to be selfish cause he doesn't want to hurt people, he's a people's pleaser! He lives with constant fear of hurting others like the Great Serpent did when it killed many (but apparently there may be more that meets the eye, because the current event hinted that the Great Serpent actually liked humans and took care of children ???)

And Yakumo dealing with those feelings along with his yokai powers as a descendant of The Great Serpent have been the main topic of his last 3 Limited SSRs, which is great because that means CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT~

Now unfortunately i cannot talk about Edmond's Intimacy Rooms as i'm missing ALL OF HIS SSRs (why do you hate me Edmond if ily) but from what i've seen he's also pretty happy being with Eiden, heck even HIS MOM is happy his son is with Eiden!

That's right, she's the first and only parent of the Clan Members that knows and approves of their relationship, if it weren't because most of them are orphan we could get many more... i wonder if Yakumo's grandparents are aware hmmm ... and we all know Olivine's parents are gonna HATE it xD and maybe Garu's wolf pack will approve of Eiden by the end of this event.

my unpopular marauders opinions

(i'm scared 😟)

'nothing is ooc bc we know nothing about the characters!' might work with the girl characters and the lesser known ones but it does not fly when we are talking about the marauders and other characters like barty, regulus, etc. we have so much (biased) information on these characters and you can't erase all they were in the original text bc you want to make an oc in the marauders era.

sirius is literally one of the most interesting characters in the fandom and i hate how he's been dumbed down to regulus' brother or remus' boyfriend depending on who's pov we're reading. what happened to cool sirius and why has he become a loser who follows remus around like a lapdog??? what happened to casanova sirius who all the girls were into but he never paid them any attention??? what happened to the sirius who risked his life and ran away bc he refused to become like his parents??? and why has been reduced to a whimpering mess who cries bc remus is mean to him (ooc on remus' part too). you're lying to yourselves if you think sirius wouldn't start throwing hands the moment remus insulted him. i need to write an entire separate post for this bc it makes me viscerally angry when i see him portrayed like this. who decided that giving remus all of sirius' main character traits was a good idea??

similarly, remus has become so boring. he has literally become the toxic love interest in a werewolf story please STOP IT. i'm tired of remus constantly yelling and calling other people (specifically sirius) worthless or hitting their deepest insecurities but it's all justified bc it's the full moon and he's angry and emotional. it's overdone, it's toxic, it's boring and i don't want to see it. my remus will forever be a an old sweater-wearing, bookworm people pleaser who wanted nothing more than to have friends who loved him despite who he was and he treasured them so dearly when he found them. he carried extra pens and quills in his bag because he knew peter always forgot his, he always came to james' games to cheer him on despite not being interested in quidditch. idk what you people find appealing about remus thinking sirius is a nuisance or annoying when they're dating but it's not <3 he spent years staring at sirius' back during class and being satisfied to just be in his presence because he didn't think he deserved any of it. how could he wish for more when sirius was wrapping an arm around him and whispering the plan to their newest prank? you want me to think the shy boy who looked away anytime sirius made eye contact with him was a smooth talker who found sirius annoying?? at this point he's an oc with remus' face be fr

speaking of regulus i hate how the fandom has characterized him. you've created sirius 2.0 with his storyline (while simultaneously slandering sirius' character) and then made him an emo version of remus' already awful characterization. he's not an uwu victim who begged his brother to come with him, he was a blood supremacist who was probably overjoyed that the stain on his family tree was gone. 'i hate you but i love you' describes the black brothers perfectly but that 'but' doesn't undo the hatred they feel for each other. sibling relationship are so complex, especially in a family like theirs, and their relationship would've been turbulent. by the time sirius had ran away i fully believe the hate they felt for each other was bigger than any love they had left. regulus who is a manipulative asshole, regulus who is actively trying to get rid of sirius so he can get to be the heir he thinks he deserves to be will always be more interesting than the way regulus is written in most jegulus fics.

also james would've literally bullied regulus. it's the truth

also, let james be an asshole! let james be a bully! he was a teenager for fucks sake let him be mean and cruel! give him an ego the size of the sun and nothing else to 'make it better'. he was an only child raised in a pureblood family, i would be more surprised if he didn't turn out to be a narcissistic teenager. he was talented and spoiled and wanted everyone to agree with him bc he had never been brought down to earth from his high horse. let him be messy. i don't understand why the fandom has such a problem with complex characters

this fandom hates on severus too much while babygirl-ifying characters who have done the same or worse than him. was he an asshole? yes. was he also a really interesting character that people choose to ignore or push aside bc he's not conventionally attractive? yes. you've idolized barty and evan and regulus, characters who are also canonically death eaters and have done unforgivable things, yet you continue to hate on severus because?? i don't like him either but commenting 'stan bambi' on every single severus edit is a bit too much effort for a character you claim to not give a shit about :/

remus would NOT be friends with barty, evan and regulus. he's a loser and those three would bully him to death

idk if this one is that unpopular cause i've seen it around quite a bit recently but the lupins are literally one of the best families and they are so underrated. the relationships between hope and remus and lyall and remus and the effects that remus' lycanthropy has on them is always on my mind fr. you don't need to give every character mommy/daddy issues to make them interesting or complex ❤️

the prank is SO overdone. like every post prank fic is the same shit and i'm tired. sirius felt no remorse, remus called it an unfunny prank, get over it. it can be interesting to explore (especially sirius' thoughts during it and how remus deals with the consequences of one of his best friends betraying him) but so many times the prank has just been used to justify writing remus being so so incredibly shitty to sirius and poking at his every insecurity that at this point i don't even want to read about it anymore. remus had every right to be mad but once again you're ignoring the canon characterization just to make him seem like a badass when he would absolutely not confront sirius about it.

'[girl character] is just the female version of [male character]' literally makes me want to bite someone's head off. how is it that you have time to create whole new personalities for james, sirius, remus and every other male character under the sun but lily, mary, dorcas or marlene don't get that treatment?? slapping sirius' old characterization on marlene or remus' old characterization on lily doesn't make for compelling characters but none of you care enough to actually flesh these women out and make them something more. it's no wonder people complain about them being boring when the main fanon is just slapping on a guy's personality onto them but make it misogynistic. if you can give regulus an entire backstory and justify his every action then you can give the girls some interesting character traits in your works be fr.

summary, reader is an extremely well known bike rider, during night she rides her bike across town and during the day she hides her personality from everyone. she can't hide it forever though... i wonder how will the boys will react?

kenny

he doesn't know why but everytime kenny tries to make plans with you at night you refuse and make up some stupid excuse. even if he manages to bring you out of the house, when 8pm hits you immediately go home.

this night however you seemed even more panicked to go home, its like you needed to be home. he was worried and followed you home, you refused however but he was insisted so you accepted. he saw you enter the house and was relieved, he decided to wait out a little since he still had a feeling something was going to happen and he was right. noises were coming from your bedroom window and he immediately jumped up. looking over it was you and he felt betrayed, he just watched you slowly go down from your window all dressed up and pretty.

"are you cheating on me" you jump and scream a little turning around and eyes shock at your boyfriend with a pouty face almost crying, you felt so bad and wanted to hug him. "kenny no no i,,," you sigh and decided to tell him, he couldn't and didn't believe it. he thought it was a cheap lie, everyone does so you open your garage revealing a black suzuki GSX-R750. and again, he doesn't believe you so you just had to show him, you brought him to your race and even yelled his name when you won

and he was shocked af LIKE HUHHH?? MY GIRLFRIEND IS A ILLEGAL RACER. he also found out you are extremely popular, you started racing when you were 15 and won so no wonder you were popular.

after that incident you and him always go out at nights and you almost immediately gets recognised he still doesn't believe it like its so hot like damn you?? a racer?? illegally at that??. somehow it being illegal made it more hot. everytime you go racing he follows and the way your hair flows when you take off your helmet or when people look at him with jealousy because he's your boyfriend he loves it, you are very respected too like if you got inbetween a big fight that has been going on for 2 months it is immediately settled. he hates how people would disturb you two though , now he understands why you always wear a mask. all in all he finds it so fucking hot... he also kinda high-key wants to fuck you after a race and also wants to try public sex on your bike... why?? idk,,

he was suspicious since day one. you weren't one to be insecure, you even said yourself you love your face but you always wore a mask and a hat whenever you two go out to eat at night like who are you trying to hide from? and not only that once when he dropped you off at your house and you forgot your purse so he went in your house to bring it and nobody was home like huh didn't i just drop you off???

so he decides to end it all today, it was 7pm and you said you were free today so after he finished doing things of his own he decides to come over to your house to talk about it. he knocked multiple times but you didn't answer so he just went in, the whole bottom floor was empty besides your mom and she told him you were in your room so he just went up.he thought you'd be studying or sleeping or just doing anything but not sneaking out, "um y/n??" he spoke out, you stopped your tracks looking behind you and it was your dear boyfriend "KYLS???.,," he was so shocked and of course his immediate thought was you were cheating on him, you dressed up so nicely and with pretty makeup. "oh.. do you not love me anymore?" his voice was almost like he was gonna cry "omg no kyle" you had to sit him down and explain it.

"are you lying 😢" "kyle noo 😞". when you show him he finally believes it, and at first he's concerned. "isn't this illegal?? what if the police comes? aren't you scared? is this safe?" and you have to reassure him so many times, he's still worried. he doesn't let you go if you don't wear a safety helmet or brings bandages and tell him and the location.

he doesn't realise how big of a deal this is until one time when you arrive for a competition there was like.. 4 people including you two and the both of you had to go somewhere then when you came back there was like probably 100 people and more still arriving. you were such a big influence and had a huge impact on anywhere you go. people respected you and since you were so famous people respected kyle, some envied some respected and some even went out their ways to look exactly like kyle so you'd leave him for them. he feels so lucky to have you. he finds it so fucking hot too like are you sure this is the y/n from school 6 hours ago??

it weirded him out, how you always made an excuse of being "too busy" or "too tired" to hang out at night. this night you gave him the same excuse. he sighs ending the call "you okay?" kenny asked from stans couch, he was hanging out with the gang and was about to leave wanting to sleep over at yours. "its probably his girlfriend, did she says she's too tired again?" cartman chimed in laughing lightly, stan hummed in disappointment "umm, stan? you might want to check y/ns story" kyle said while looking at his phone stan. they all pulled out their phones and opened your story to see a picture of you posing on a bike with a girl on your right hugging you and a guy on your left holding up his middle finger, "holy shit i know where this is, it's an illegal racing place my friend goes to" kenny said sitting up straight

stan was in shock and disbelief, like are you cheating on him?? whats so fun instead of hanging out with him. he replied to your story with a "??" and you didn't reply, instead deleting the story. on your side,you forgot to put it on close friends where only your biker friends can see it. "cmon i got the location"kenny stood up grabbed his keys and went out, the other three following in suit.

arriving there was like a black sheep in a white sheep's den. it was all expensive motorcycles and expensive cars. they parked somwhere far and got off, kenny greeted his friend "hey dude whats uh going on?" "oh u dont know? Jared's racing against y/n he thinks he's so tough, shes literally three laps ahead of him" the man chuckled to himself while the rest stares at him "y/n?" stan says "yeah, u don't know her? woah u must live under a rock or something," he then pointed to you driving on your motorcycle, passing by quickly making it the fourth lap. "that's the y/n, she's been winning races left and right, she is so popular you dont even know it, she has her instagram on private though idk why. shes pretty too, i tried to ask her number once and she just slapped my phone away from me" the man sipped his drink and continued his sentence with a chuckle "hot".

the information stan got was too much, since when did you ride a motorcycle?? you can't even drive a car. when did this happen? how long?? is there anything else you hide from him? before spiraling in his own thoughts the crowd cheered. he looked up to see you with your hand up in the air, looks like you won. you were cheering and smiling and thats when you locked eyes with stan, yours grew wider and his grew sadder. you immediately got down and went over to him grabbing his hands pulling him to a more isolated area so people don't disturb you.

"um.. stan?" you called out "when did you start doing this?" he felt somewhat betrayed and you had to start from the beginning when you needed money and decided to take on illegal bike racing since your dad had an expensive motorcycle. "im sorry i should've told you but i didn't know how'd you react" you hold his palm "you can be mad, its okay but trust me I'm only doing this for the money" he was betrayed sure but inside he was happy asf like you are literally famous af, and you looked ever prettier with your messy hair and sweaty face.

after that incident he insist on bringing him to your races, even if they're late at night he doesn't care aslong as he sees you driving that motorcycle with your hair thats flying everywhere was heaven for him. people are soo jealous of him and they can't even do shit about it bc they know you'd beat their ass if they even lay a finger on stan. he got really famous and everyone js kinda greets you wherever you two go. now he knows why you always buy him designer things

cartman

okay, he knew you did something at night and he at first doesn't rly give a fuck bc you probably go out to your cousins or smthing bc usually you parents don't let you sleep over to your cousins house and you and your cousin is close af.

but it was a gut feeling, was he right? it was something he assumed so he decided to check it out. he is now currently in your bushes looking at your window (totally not creepy). you weren't really going anywhere and he felt relieved and got up to leave but js then your front window opened and a leg reached out to a rooftop of your patio. he immediately went back in, you wore black and had pretty makeup on. stepping on the ground with a sigh you fixed your hair and clothes, looked around and went to your garage. he went back to his car that was parked far from your house but not too far so he can see you, then he saw you dragging a motorcycle out of your house, when you were far enough you got on it started and drove off. he furrowed his eyebrows and followed you.

his heart was shattered, your cousins house was three houses down, you dont even need a motorcycle to reach there.

when you arrived he immediately recognised the place, it was a popular illegal racing place that meets up and race every two times a week. he continued to follow, blending in the crowd just looking at you. everyone greeted you, high fiving, hugging and even bowed as a joke. he could immediately tell how popular you were.

he watched as you raced, everytime you lapped it felt like it didn't even past 2 minutes. it was obvious who'd won. when you won and cheered with everyone he made a goofy ass scene approaching you. "IS THIS WHAT YOU DO WHILE IM AWAY??" your eyes were widen and you felt so fucking embarrassed, mans was kneeling and acted as if you were married with 3 kids or smthn... "cartman,, can we talk about this like.. somewhere else??" "NAH NAH, YOU WANT TO KEEP SECRETS HUH?? WELL I STUCK YOUR TOOTH BRUSH UP MY ASS ONCE AND I HAVEN'T TOLD YOU UNTIL NOW" you smiled and slightly kneeling to reach his level, whispering in his ear "cartman get the fuck up and leave, if you wanna talk about it don't embarrass me. I'll talk to you tomorrow" you smiled softly as if you didn't threaten him seconds ago, he just got up and went to his car, went home, parked his car, got in the house, up the stairs, in his bedroom, layed there and just.. slept in disbelief.

the next day he got awoken by you slamming his bedroom door "wake up, don't ever do that shit again." you cross your arms, he got up and sat on the edge of his bed "well i feel kinda betrayed yk, how would you feel after finding out the love of of your life does illegal racing and doesn't even share the money with you" he rolled his eyes, i mean he wasn't lying, he's betrayed af how could you?? its just his way to cope . "okay cartman, im sorry seriously, I should've told you and sighs shared the money with you".

after telling him how it started and how you're literally popular af and you rizz up both genders he was smiling and giggling. like can't believe he claimed you first and you stayed despite the other men going for you. he gloats about it forsho "oh my girlfriend?? oh yeah just a ille-..... legal bike racer", or if someone messes with him "my girlfriend is a very popular bike racer, if you touch me she'll fuck you up yk"

also flexes you, like takes pics of you winning and putting it on his story "y'all girlfriends could never 🥱‼️‼️". he actually loves it, and is actually very worried, he always makes sure no cops comes and if there is one he immediately gets you and runs. tells you to win or else he breaks up with you knowing damn well he doesn't care just as long as youre safe.

OK I LIKE TO THINK THAT HE DEFINITELY KNOWS BUT FOR THE SAKE OF THIS LETS MAKE HIM UNAWARE.

he honesty could care less on why you always have to leave at night or why you have to cover up at night or why you have 1 mil on Instagram, i mean, cool you definitely have a lot of friends. but he always had the feeling that ur hiding something from him. wondering why so many people like your story or why so many people greet you and ask to take pics with you and so many people tag you.... hmm well i guess that's for another day moving on!!

jk, he is so curious, he tried asking you about it, asked wendy, red, heidi, bebe they all don't know. like girl why you got 30 messages from a guy of them confessing their undying love to you?? or why you cant call during late nights.

but he js thought it was a private matter and didn't wanna push you. one night however he wanted to be romantic and brought wine and popcorn to your house to 'chill' he wanted to sneak in, yk those teenage love yea he tryna be like that. but when he was about to sneak in you were about to sneak out. he just stood there wine on his left hand popcorn on his left while you grunted and groaned going down.

"y/n." you jumped turned around and found your boyfriend "oh.. craig???" "where are you going y/n?" "... just a friends house 😊😊" "wearing makeup, hair done, pretty shoes and wearing your good clothing?" he wanted to cross his arms but for now he just has his brows furrowed. "..yea..." "your cheating on me right? i see how it is, I'll leave" he turned around to leave his heart was shattered how could you 🙁🙁"NO CRAIG WHAT??" you sigh and rub your temples, "I'll show you, cmere, why did you even bring wine?? put it down" he crouched, put both of it down and looked at you. "..okay, cmon" you grabbed his palm and ran to your garage. opening it to find your motorcycle, no questions asked he got on and just put on his helmet.

arriving there everyone was staring at you two, he thought you were some kind of freak show. whispers and stares "y/n are you being bullied" "what craig, ???? just watch okay" you got back on your bike and drove off, immediately he got sworm "who r you?" "are you y/n boyfriend??" "just so you know thats OUR girlfriend". he can tell right off the bat you are quite popular, i mean i think anyone can tell by the way the man beside craig who's screaming our your name while jumping.

when you won it was havoc , everyone screamed and jumped and smiled some even creame.... nvm. anyways, he founded out that the 1mill followers are mostly your fans, and that you are literally loved and wanted by so many men and women.

now your date gets interrupted with "can you sign my helmet" or "can we take a pic" and he'd be the one to take the pics like 😐😐. he wants to flip the off SOOOOO BAD but he holds the urge bc he doesn't want you to get jumped bc he flipped off a leader of a hostile gang. he absolutely hates it when someone approaches you smiling and hesitantly while giggling, he lets out the biggest sigh and make sure the fan knows he doesn't want them there

stalks, saves your photos people take of you, has a fanpage of you and also is lowkey a die hard fan. has you on a your bike riding it while racing as his wallpaper. records you and is like "theres my little girl!!", edits you to those sigilkore music. THINKS IT IS THE MOST HOTTEST THING WHEN YOU TAKE OFF YOUR HELMET AND UNSTRADDLE YOUR MOTORCYCLE. he is so lucky that he's living mens dream by dating you.

Whoever you choose for twist wonderland with a so/reader that's nerdy and shy, loves wearing baggy, comfy clothes, and always wears there hair messy or in a braid(if your hair is short than a small ponytail). Then one day, reader decides to wear form-fitting dress(or if it's a guy or don't wear dresses than a suit) and they comb their hair, which makes them look beatiful and like a super-model. However, now all the students are drooling over them. How'd they react?

Hi, thank you for the ask! Idk why but I got instantly reminded of those early 2000s teen movies where the main girl character goes through a mall haul and like does a 180 in aesthetics. However, this was pretty fun to write, I made y/n gender neutral in this one ^^

Sebek, Ruggie, Idia, Ace with an s/o who decides to try out a different (more tight-fitting) style

Sebek

He liked that you weren't afraid to try different fashion styles, even if it mainly consisted of baggy clothing or something that didn't make you stand out. To him, whatever you wore that day was cute (he would never say this to you though)

One day, however, he was busy reading a book when suddenly his entire class just went "WWWOAAAAHHH" and like crowded around the door. Sighing, he stood up and asked what was going on, only to see you in probably the world's most beautiful attire...that also happened to fit you quite well

Sebek turns red in the face, doesn't know where to look since he's so flustered, but yells at everyone to give you some space so you can breathe. "They're just trying to get to their seat, stop bothering y/n!" He then takes you by the hand and races down to the front of the classroom where he's sitting

You notice he doesn't say much but he is stuttering a lot that day. You explained that you had to do a fashion shoot for Vil (he thought you would be perfect) and got permission to wear this to class so you could run to the shoot right after. Sebek gives a nod but still doesn't look at you

After class, he finally has the courage to tell you that you look beautiful, handsome, honestly just every adjective ever to describe how cool you looked. He might ask you to wear that again, though he says this while taking flustered glances at you. Does he think you look great? Of course! Is he scared to voice this? Yes! Will Lilia tease him about this for the next few days? Hell yeah

Ruggie

He joked about you wearing something more form-fitting, saying it would make you look really cute. Did he expect you do wear it to the Fairy Fashion Show? No

He was helping out Leona and Jamil when suddenly out of nowhere he hears Crewel go "See? Be more like y/n" and when the hyena whips around his head he sees you in your full glory. Omg he almost dropped the expensive accessories in his hands because of how stunning you were.

All the students that were helping out were also shocked, but then students started to crowd around you and just exclaim at how awesome you looked. Ruggie, perhaps because he's a bit overprotective sometimes, dashes over and pushes through the crowd of fangirling students

"'Scuse me, my y/n will be helping out with the fairy runway right now, c'mon let's go!" he takes your hand and pulls you out of the crowd. He might use his unique magic to make things a bit easier too. Soon after, you two are able to catch a breath and actually get back on track. He seems pretty chill about your outfit change, saying that you looked like a totally different person

However, under all of the laughing and snickering he does, he was probably fangirling or at least feeling really flustered. He thinks you look great, perhaps too good for someone like him. By the end of the mission, he tells you in a very gentle way that you were beautiful and that perhaps you two should do a date night somewhere classy so you can wear that again. He'll be dreaming about you in that outfit for the next few days

Idia

You two became best buddies and soon partners when you two discovered your love for gaming and anime. He joked about doing a couple cosplay together, saying it would be cute. However, he had no confidence in this ever happening, hell he can't even cosplay himself (or so he thinks). You decided to challenge this though

Idia showed up in some regular clothing, something that the character in his Isekai anime wore. He wasn't sure if you were actually going to show up as the mythical character or so, but then he heard a crowd hollering and clapping around someone. They were chanting the name of the character that you were cosplaying, which meant one thing: it was you.

"Y-y/n?" he pushes around in the crowd, trying to not freak out at how close everyone is. However, when he sees you, his hair almost completely blazes the building. You look exactly like the character, even the clothing was the complete opposite of your aesthetic but you nailed it! He just stood there, wide eyed and completely awed

You have to snap him out of it and take him back to a more open area because he's so surprised. He has a hard time talking to you, fumbling over words and expressing how cool you look in the cosplay. He smiles awkwardly, asking if you wanted to go see the merch booths in another hall. Taking his hand, you two walk around the convention

Idia is blushing hard during the entire convention. If you tease him about it he'll be super embarrassed. He's really proud and grateful to have a partner like you who can not only look amazing but also be the kindest person he's ever met. At the end, he'll shyly tell you he would love to see you in a cosplay again soon

Ace

He was fully joking when he said you would look cooler in flashier clothes. Putting a bet that you would never change your clothes, he said he would buy you dinner at a nice restaurant if you did manage to wear something flashy.

Ace didn't expect the school to be turned upside down when you showed up on a school event in what Cater described was "a slay outfit." He ran over and saw a crowd of first years pointing and whispering excitedly around the corner. Ace thought there was no way it would be you, he knew you weren't going to want to step out of your comfort zone

He was wrong. He was soooo wrong. His jaw dropped when you came into his view; your hair was shining, your clothes were slightly fitting but looked beautiful on you, and your accessories complimented the whole outfit. You could've challenged Vil with your beauty

"O-Oh hey! Y/n! Damn you look great!" he said, trying to hide that he was blushing and being overjoyed at seeing you in the coolest look ever. He asks if you were also attending the event as a fashion show contestant, and he was right. Not only that, you ended up fully winning the competition after the entire school of boys went crazy over your looks haha

Ace ends up agreeing to the deal, but he still teases you along the way. "You should wear like this more often, it's super cute" he'll whisper while you two are walking downtown, pulling you closer. He wants you to be flustered because he was totally red in the face when he first saw you. He'll be fanboying over that one look for a long time haha

How would you have redeemed Bakugou?

I'm glad you asked😈

So, this actually isn't a very hard question to answer. Bakugou should have been an easy character to redeem as a) he's young and b) he embodies everything wrong with society so as our main character resolved (or should have resolved) to change that, it should have been easy to change Bakugou along the way. Let me break it down.

Class 1A doesn't like Bakugou A big point of contention for not only Bakugou but 1A as characters is the fact that he's explicitly awful to Izuku (and them even if it isn't as bad) and half of 1A doesn't care while the other half outright admires him. Kirishima and Mina especially as a later point of both their characters is that they don't like bullies, yet they end up as part of his friend group and take his verbal abuse.

I would have kept up a general indifference/disdain for Bakugou that was showed at the beginning of the show. Kaminari (another one who ends up as part of his group unfortunately) clowning him should have been kept up the entire series, as well as Tsu pointing out how awful and annoying he is. Bakugou's attitude should have kept him ostracized from the majority of the class.

Because Kirishima is a big part of the reason Bakugou starts to change, I would keep him Bakugou's friend. But he doesn't tolerate any of Bakugou's disrespect and consistently calls him out.

Uraraka and Iida defend Izuku from Bakugou This kind of ties in to the first point, but I think Uraraka and (especially) Iida should have shown more concern. Bakugou's behavior isn't normal and I think the two of them of all people should have been aware of that. I mean, you see your friend who doesn't defend himself and looks terrified for his life being yelled at and assaulted by someone with a dangerous quirk and you don't do anything?

I feel like for who Iida is, he would look down on that and would make the effort to chew Bakugou out. Izuku's friend constantly calling something out would stress to him (and the audience) the fact that how Bakugou treats him isn't okay and shouldn't be condoned.

Aizawa chews him out Unfortunately, Aizawa has to give Izuku a hard time because that's who his character is, but he should have been just as hard (if not harder) on Bakugou. Bakugou, who has been careless with his quirk and has deliberately disobeyed his instructors. Bakugou, who threw a literal temper tantrum at the Sports Festival. Bakugou, whose actions put fellow classmates in danger.

I've said this before, but it's so insane to me that he consistently sticks up for Bakugou while actively talking down to Izuku. You would think that Bakugou would be the kind of hero Aizawa hates.

He loses to Todoroki (or Uraraka or Shinsou) Him losing would be the start to him having to deal with failure. He should have been humbled this early in the show. It would have also been a great segway into him learning that saving people should be a hero's top priority, not being the best. Winning isn't everything and it should be the last thing on a hero's mind.

And I know the whole point in canon is that he didn't get to win the way he wanted to, but that doesn't negate the fact that he still won and was regarded at the best in 1A.

His actions at the Sports Festival turn pros away Idk about anyone else, but I would not want a walking PR liability nightmare in my agency. He threw a temper tantrum on live television. He attacked his unconscious, defenseless opponent and had to be knocked out. Why on Earth was he still given so many offers (over 3,000 is beyond ridiculous, I would even say Todoroki's number was dumb too)? And the fact that Tokoyami and Iida were given way less offers is just insulting, they got third place.

This would have been a good time to stress that his actions have consequences and that he can't do and say whatever he wants and still get everything.

The fact that everyone- students, teachers, and pros- are so desensitized to his attitude and behavior is extremely concerning (especially for the teachers and pros).

Best Jeanist teaches him more I appreciate Best Jeanist's efforts, but let's be real he focused way too much on Bakugou's style. I give him leeway because he isn't a teacher (and still did way better than Aizawa), but Bakugou needed a reality check. He should have been more focused on teaching Bakugou and telling him why his attitude needed to change.

(He also should have been kept around for the work studies. Bakugou didn't spend nearly enough time with him. And why is it that the only adult who genuinely wanted Bakugou to be better past getting stronger the one who had to "die" and disappear? Any other hero could have been used and it wouldn't have changed anything)

Bakugou doesn't pass the final exam This has been said a lot so I won't go into how he passed and Sero didn't, but the fact that his actions here went completely unchecked is disgusting. He was deliberately uncooperative and assaulted his teammate and somehow still passed? Excuse me? Aizawa has expelled students for less, but Bakugou didn't immediately fail? Anyone else would have been suspended at the very least.

Bakugou needs to be held to the same standard as everyone else. Giving him special treatment just enables his terrible behavior.

Aizawa actually admits fault in allowing Bakugou's behavior to go unchecked and actually makes good on his promise to fix it The fact that Aizawa spent that press conference deflecting from the actual issue is extremely annoying. Yeah, Bakugou works hard. So do all your students and you're not singing their praises. Not a word about Izuku who literally works out during class whenever he can. Not a word about Uraraka who learned hand-to-hand combat.

That all means squat diddly when Bakugou has repeatedly broken rules and received less than a slap on the wrist for it. Using how hard he works as an excuse is a copout, especially when it was his own actions that got him kidnapped in the first place. He knew he wasn't supposed to confront the LOV and insisted on it anyway.

Todoroki doesn't fail the provisional licensing exam For once, Bakugou has to face the full consequences of his actions on his own. And this is where he really starts to ponder if Best Jeanist was right and that his behavior isn't becoming of a hero. If everyone else passed and he didn't, doesn't that mean that he really is doing something wrong?

(Personally, I would make it so that he would have to try against in his second year, but that's subjective)

Bakugou doesn't get to know about OFA Instead of rewarding his terrible behavior, All Might should have given him a reality check. That being strong isn't what makes a hero. That Izuku earned One For All because of his heart. That the toxic ambition that Bakugou has is what helped shape Endeavor into a monster (let's pretend he knows about the Todorokis) and that he's going down the same road.

And this would be the turning point for Bakugou. What makes him stop and look at himself in the mirror and realize that he doesn't want to end up like that. That he doesn't want to be a monster.

And that's when everything I mentioned before finally clicks for him. This is where Bakugou really starts to change, and not because he forced his way into knowing a secret that was none of his business. But because he's being forced to realize that his actions aren't hero material.

This is where Bakugou begins to actually put in the effort to change. Not to get him what he wants, but because it's the right thing to do.

(None of that save to win bullshit)

Small, but meaningful changes Bakugou begins to be more mindful of his behavior. It's nothing big, but he makes an effort to stop insulting his classmates. If he starts, he stops himself. If he does, he owns up to it and apologizes.

He drops the shitty nicknames and starts to show the bare minimum of respect towards his classmates. He leaves Izuku alone. He takes it upon himself to go to Aizawa (not that I think canon Aizawa would be much help, but let's pretend for the sake of this) and ask how he can improve. He makes the genuine effort to change and improve. He actually gets better.

Accountability Bakugou confesses what he did to Izuku to Kirishima. Kirishima is rightfully upset and chews him out, but understands that Bakugou is genuinely trying to change. He tells him that he needs to find a way to apologize.

And Bakugou does. He apologizes to Izuku privately and owns up to everything. Not just in Aldera, but everything that happened in UA too. He shows actual remorse and sincerity, no excuses or reasons and no sugarcoating. Just a real apology owning up to the fact that there was no justification or logic behind his behavior and a promise that he will be better.

And Izuku thanks him. He doesn't accept or refuse it, he just says thank you.

1A somehow overhears. And Izuku's friends give Bakugou a piece of their mind. The rest of the class is rightfully horrified and upset. This leads to Bakugou being even further ostracized from the class (they aren't mean to him or anything, but they don't like to be around him).

Save to Save Bakugou's arc comes to completion when he risks his life to save someone. Not Izuku, just someone, anyone. Someone who needed to be saved. It isn't even during the PLA War or any other significant event, it's a random occurrence. He doesn't think about it, his body just moves. He saves that person successfully, and then collapses from his injuries.

Maybe he lives, maybe he dies. Who knows? That's not the important thing. What's important is that it signifies that he really did change by willingly giving up his chance of being the #1 to do the right thing.

That is how I would have redeemed Katsuki Bakugou.

I don’t have like a ton to say about this but I have mixed feelings- also spoilers ✨

I like Crystal I really do but at times her dialogue bothered me and some of her behavior was kind of obnoxious to me- like at times when she started aggressively inserting herself into situations and just kind of made it about her? Like in episode seven (though this happened many other times too) where she was having a total fit about not going to hell when it’s clearly for her own good and not about her no matter how much she cares? and I totally understand that this is her being written as an immature teenager who hasn’t been dead or a teen for 30-100 years but as a teenager this sort of selfish immature writing kind of gives me icky feelings because I know so many people who are mostly emotionally intelligent not just raging all the time.- and I mean that for a lot of teenagers and teen girls in writing, to make them tough and likable they are made volitile and annoying which to me is not likable (my opinion, I just don’t like the trope that’s not what I’m talking about right now anyway-) I do think she had good development and I liked her a lot better by the end, some people on other forums were saying that her actress was weaker than the rest of the cast and I don’t really know about that? I think maybe she was artificial at times but I’m blaming that on the writing. I also didn’t like her dialogue about her “crazy demon ex” either, it felt very forced? -Not her emotions about the whole mind cage thing I get that but just all of the “UGH WHY ARE THEY SO FUCKING NOSY IM JUST TRYING TO GET OVER MY STUPID STUPID CRAZY ABUSIVE STALKER DEMON EX BOYFRIEND UGHHH ILL DOUBLE KILL THOSE BOYS IF ITS TGE LAST THING I DO” that felt out of place to me- Lastly I get that this is also an aspect of her teenager-ness but I didn’t like the amount she cursed? I have no qualms with cursing but it felt to me like when little kids and middle schoolers start cursing where they just explosively yell fuck when like literally nothing warranting that kind of expletive has happened? She curses too often it makes her sound really stupid? Like the ep 7 “take me to hell I won’t die” thing, she was screaming at Charles who was being pretty reasonable like “fuck that I’m going he’s my fucking friend too fine then fuck it- fuck you ill find another way to get to hell” like yes she was emotional but that isn’t what teenagers sound like guys?

idk- I’d love to hear what other people think and to be clear I do like her I just focused on the negative- I guess it’s a human thing. She had lots of strong points just I ending up not liking how much she was on screen, this isn’t really about you? It’s about the dead boy detective? Give me more ghosts or Edwin or Charles or Jenny or Niko or Mr walrus please? They were fun I like them? I just felt like there were times where she was over shadowing Edwin and Charles and they are what’s actually important to the show? I think I’d like her more in smaller doses- I felt like I spent too much time having to stop and be like “girl step back this is not about you, you are not the star right now”

and to the argument of her actress being inexperienced or over acting or just not great- I have no specific feelings on this but like the other main cast had for the most part very little screen acting experience and were Fantastic so i don’t know what to feel in that area? so yes, i think crystal is an interesting character and i think she grew on me and developed in the season but i also definitely think that she’s annoying and I’m conflicted because i don’t want to not like her-..

what are your thoughts? Id love to hear different perspectives but please be nice to me because I’ll probably delete this and cry (unless that was your goal, then carry on)

Is putting my awareness on having it the same as feeling it real? I feel like I put too much pressure on trying to feel how I would if I had it in the 3d and that’s where I struggle. I want to manifest moving out and given the circumstances I need it to reflect asap but idk how to feel it real and not panic when the circumstances are all up in my face and taking a toll on me. I’m so sorry if that was a lot, thank you so much for being so patient.

feeling it real doesn't have to feel like happiness or euphoria! sometimes the feeling of knowing doesn't feel like anything. so yes, as long as you're aware of the fact that you have it in imagination, that's enough! i have a friend who manifested her sp, and she said that the whole time she was manifesting her sp she felt anxious about it every day, but she just stood firm in the fact that her sp was hers and it still manifested!

i went through the same thing while manifesting at first. like when i was manifesting my sp a couple years ago, the DAY before he finally reached out to me i was sooo anxious out of nowhere, constantly thinking about how i much be doing everything wrong bc it wasn't here yet, how i needed to start over, how it'd be days without anything, etc, but i'd just talk to myself and be like "no im doing everything right, i already have it, im good, this isn't gonna effect anything bc its mine" etc.

having feelings of anxiety or worry is not a failure on your part, and they won't mess anything up (unless you assume they will). i've read this somewhere, i think it was twitter but i can't remember who said it, but think about anxiety. it's not logical! usually you feel anxious over something that you think will never even actually happen, but you still feel anxious anyway. or i have friends who sometimes say they're super anxious and they don't even know why. i had social anxiety as a teenager and i'd be soo anxious in social settings. what did i think was going to happen? nothing, but i was still anxious for no reason constantly. and my anxiety never manifested, because even i knew it was illogical. it still hindered me in other ways, but it didn't manifest into negative circumstances in my reality!

re-reading your ask i realize u didn't mention anxiety 😭 but im still gonna keep all that in bc i still think you/other people will benefit from those anecdotes! lol

in my experience, you don't need to focus on feeling it real constantly! i focus on feeling it real while im imagining, but during the day, i just shift my state when i need to. that being said, there's no pressure to be in the state of the wish fulfilled every second of the day! the main goal is to enter TSOTWF more than the state of lack, but there's also more states you can enter throughout the day! sometimes during the day you're neither in the state of the wish fulfilled nor the state of lack. there's such thing as a neutral state! so if you're panicking and it's hard for you to shift back to your desired state, you can focus on shifting to a neutral state. you can do this by trying to calm yourself down, talking to yourself, meditating, taking deep breaths, etc. if you need to just take deep breaths and think of something else that has nothing to do with your desire, go for it!

if im manifesting something on a time crunch, it always really helps me to just deep breathe and talk to myself, saying things such as "there's nothing to worry about, its mine, it's promised, everything is going to work out perfectly, my 3D is going to change, my inner man already has it and my inner man is me" etc.

i manifested moving out and this was very helpful for me! i dealt with very toxic, narcissistic parents and my family struggled with money for most of my life. sometimes my parents would be yelling at me for no reason and it'd trigger me bc i was manifesting living in my own apartment on my own. in these times i'd focus on remaining calm and staying in a neutral state. eventually it got easier for me and i'd be able to talk to myself in my head while getting yelled at, saying stuff like "im so glad this isn't my life anymore, im so glad i live on my own whew" etc. i'd also imagine that i was just visiting home and i couldn't wait for my visit to be over so i could go back to my own apartment again.

just remember that no matter what happens in your 3D, nothing can stop you from having your desire in your imagination. you moved out in your 4D and nothing can change that! it is fact, and all you have to do is persist in that face. you don't have to gaslight or trick yourself into thinking you moved out in the 3D. you just need to stand firm in the fact you have it in your 4D.

A lot of stuff from @oldworldpoolhall, so settle in. Sorry this took so long.

"Also your takes on Marika and several art and some… not so safe for work portrayal (ONE nsfw portrayal but it was so good i consider it close to canon) is making me want to make my own in regards to her relationship with the reader. I think like some of the earlier takes she was curious about you, you as a way to further cement her already founded rule over the lands between. A mysterious power, that’s what you were at first. But she did eventually grow to love you, especially if you interacted with her often and possibly called her out for her prejudice if you’ve witnessed it And like Idk it sounds better in my head but the thought that she grew to see you as endearing, someone who she is fond of instead of just an otherworldly guest. And well, she’s hurt by your accusations but she knows it’s true, she’s buried her omen children for being the way they were under the city she calls holy, under the city she built. My thoughts are a bit scattered atm but the main thought of this is that she eventually sort of inserts herself as a motherly figure. Because that’s what she was, a mother. A ruler first, a mother second. But a mother regardless. Marika subconsciously doing all she can to try and adopt you to the culture, to the way of the Erdtree, to the belief of fundamentalism. Is it a way to try and atone for what she did to her twins? For her children she could not help and keep because the tree and the age she herself ushered did not permit her to? Who knows? Again it’s a bit scattered in my head, but basically you’re the outlier. You’re like her, you’re not even from the lands between or anywhere else she knows, you’re no empyrean. She eventually realizes you are not under the will of the fingers at some point, maybe she sees you as her freedom, her only ticket to it when she begins to question the order she built throughout the ages. Even more bonus points if you’re capable of feats that no one there can do, maybe you’ve even subdued Malenia’s rot— though not freeing her entirely from it, you’ve helped save her from falling apart when her beliefs could not"

I do see Marika using reader as a way of making herself feel better for not being the best mother. I do think a small part of her loves her twins, but she has a duty as a god, and image to uphold, and I think with reader and Godwyn it's easier to uphold that image. When she realizes that reader isn't actually from the Lands Between she views reader as a way to reject the Golden Order without doing so outright, if that makes sense.

"The only way I see it that the reader gets affiliated with the omens is by basically exploring too much of Leyndell, maybe they’d gotten too curious, this place couldn’t be all that sunshine and rainbows right? From the snobby nobles running amok the place, surely there must be something out there. And they do explore And they don’t like what they’ve come to find, they keep it to themselves for some time, hanging with possibly Mohg and Morgott— maybe just one of them if not both, and perhaps the other omens in the sewers they’d bring some food from the surface to. They keep their mouth shut, not really quite understanding why they all would be down here til the Fundamentalists or the believers of the Erdtree speak of Omens as curses. They begin to piece together things, that it was really just bad, and left a quite /sour/ taste in the mouth. Maybe Marika got a little too ahead of herself, a goddess she may be, but she’s not perfect. Not in the eyes of the reader at least. I feel like the admission to seeing all those horrible things are quiet. There is no yelling to be had, only cold disdain, and Marika’s cold glare against theirs as they try not to tremble under her gaze when they ask her how she could just do that to them, to the omens, to the children who did nothing wrong but simply be born with horns. It takes a while to shake her, and in those moments the greater will too began to dislike you. Not enough to kill you, not yet. Marika doesn’t really correct her way, doesn’t let the omen children out— what was she going to do? She was a woman of pride at the same time, she was a queen, and a puppet of the greater will. She does let you do things, let’s you help, let’s you go around and turn away from her beliefs maybe but not too much— maybe even warns you, digs her nails too deep into your shoulders as she hisses you a warning if you’re openly opposing to the prejudice. You have to understand that it’s how things simply work here. But eventually it sounds like she’s convincing herself more than she’s convincing you. Marika becoming defensive about the way she raises her children is very on brand not gonna lie. She doesn't need reader speaking out on why she does things the way she does. If reader does question her, it's probably the only moment when she wishes reader was a part of the Golden Order, maybe then it would be easier to raise you. Marika reminds reader that she is a god, and that she can do as she pleases, even if that really isn't the case.

Marika would be elated if people started viewing reader as her actual child, as apart of her lineage. I think she uses it as an opportunity to control reader a bit more, now that reader is in the public eye.

I do think a LOT about why Chilchuck would join the "save Falin" dungeon dive at all tbh and it makes me feel like eating drywall. Namari is the one who brings up the "I figured you'd be the first one to leave, you never take a job without getting paid" and he's like yeah. I do insist on payment up front. But do you think he was ever going to bring up his motivations on his own? If Namari hadn't? I don't think he would talk about it because I don't think it's really that simple. We find out in the ep that just aired a few things--

1) Chil is paid in advance, and however that works, he's apparently already been contracted for future dungeon dives too ? 2) The adventurer's community is tight-knit and full of gossip, so the things you do will have impact on what kind of work you can do going forward.

There are other things we know about Chil:

1) he's worked for Laios' party for three years. Namari was a member before him (she joined at the same time the husband hunter and some tall man guy joined, iirc) and Shuro was a member after him, but after those two leave, he's the person who's worked with the Toudens for the longest. 2) He's had some really shitty jobs in his past, especially pre-union. He understands very well what kinds of things people will use half-foots for. 3) He is thinking about retiring. He was going to retire before joining Laios' party.

And one thing we learned in the very first episode -- Laios told Marcille and Chilchuck that they should sell their equipment so he could go down on his own to rescue Falin. Chilchuck asks him if he's suicidal and then invites himself along for absolutely everything that goes down after. He's more ride-or-die about eating monsters than anyone other than Senshi. Him breaking his contract is obviously not something Laios would have held against him. Maybe it would have "Changed his clientele" as he says to Marcille about Namari in the latest ep, but also: HE COULD JUST RETIRE.

IDK PERSONALLY I JUST THINK this all adds up to an implication that he is really very fond of the Touden siblings. As Marcille notes when she's making a fanfic of his wife leaving him he's not the type to ever say his feelings out loud so it's not ever really gonna be said in the text of the story and THAT'S WHY I'M HERE. They seem to be a well-renowned party during the events of the story, but when he joined up with them they were just a year out from being bodyguards in a gold-peeling party with a few other no-name adventurers (as far as I know from the extras that have come out so far, the order of main chars joining the party went Laios&Falin->Namari->Chil->Shuro->Marcille.)

Three years AFTER HE WAS ALREADY CONSIDERING RETIRING he is willing to go on a journey that every other character thinks is fucking insane for the chance to rescue Falin, even though he is not an optimistic guy and he probably has a more realistic understanding of how dangerous dungeons are than anybody else in the group. If he started doing dungeon work when he left his home at 14 then he has about 15 years of dungeoneering experience by the time of the story. He would know what he's doing is actually EXTREMELY dangerous in a way resurrection magic doesn't actually eliminate. They are going down into a floor that's so far down the story has expressed "it's really dangerous to go there and most people don't because it will be hard for corpse retrievers and necessary supplies to get to you if you die. if you are eaten you might just be gone beause no one will ever find you."

I think he's harsh on Laios because he really cares about him and Falin. We know he ranks Laios' ability as a party leader as like a 61 or something lmfao but IMHO he is like that stern teacher who is forced by admin to put a 20pt curve on every exam because everybody is fuckin failing. Nobody is doing a good enough job. But he must have faith in the idea that Laios is able to do better if he has the right coaching (kicking and yelling at him). I JUST THINK the Touden party has been the best one he's worked in, or if not the best then his favorite, for him to keep doing it for THIS LONG when he SHOULD absolutely have his pick of contracts, given that "no other half-foots had the expertise necessary to accompany Laios to such a deep floor of the dungeon".

Anti Itachi people are weird and I honestly don't understand them. I saw some ppl say Itachi doesn't deserve sympathy because he killed Gaara, joined Akatsuki and tortured Kakashi.... outside of abusing sasuke. So they don't get why he's so popular among fans. 🙄

People really just single out Itachi so randomly among the many characters to shit on because of morality and then crib about their favorite characters as if their favourites are saints. What is it that they feel entitled to hate on Itachi because of his morality and then defend people who did worse than him? Gaara himself is one fine example.

Who'd tell them morality isn't a binary or one-dimensional concept in a fictional world where child-soldiers are common and kids are subjected to being a victim of it and causing it from a very young age.

He killed Gaara

Okay? Gaara killed people for fun. He and his siblings attacked Konoha, killing people. What this fandom believes in is that the lives that Itachi took — no matter who that is — are more important than the lives that other characters took. Which is why Madara, Obito, Pain, Gaara etc., shouldn't be seen as villains and they act all pissy because Itachi isn't seen as a villain.

Here, people, I'll yell it out for you: conscience. Itachi was burdened by his conscience and never justified his crimes. It's literally canon. He wouldn't go out of his way to kidnap a child, manipulate him so the said child could fulfill his dreams after he was dead. He wouldn't unnecessarily attack an unsuspecting village with innocent population and murder them because he hated the world and was heartbroken that his childhood crush who didn't like him back was dead because she chose to. He also wouldn't make the world worse than it already is because he thinks his pain is worse than others.

Endurance, admission of one's mistakes, regrets/guilts etc., are some of the many redeeming qualities Itachi has. Of course people can see that and love him for them.

Unbelievabl that people think this is a bad thing, lmao. On one hand they simp for Obito, Pain, and Madara who are the main ideologues of this extreme philosophy which works on nothing other than violence, then simultaneously have the audacity to be upset why is Itachi a part of this group. Make it make some sense, people. I can't see past your hypocrisy.

Look, there's no justification for any of what he did to either Sasuke or Kakashi or anyone else. But when he came to the village, he had a reputation to uphold, that too that of a criminal who had single-handedly murdered the entire clan that was supposed to be the strongest of its time. He avoided fighting Asuma and Kurenai. He only took on Kakashi because Kakashi was the only one with Sharingan (and Mangekyo Sharingan). Idk if something in an Uchiha's brain goes off when they sense Mangekyo in someone else, or Itachi just did it to keep up his façade. But Kakashi did start to use his MS after his encounter with Itachi.

Either way, Itachi coming to the village, then avoiding fighting the mediocre jounins, taking on only the strongest one, inflicting enough pain to paralyse (in this case coma), but not killing him... That's what one would expect from a "dangerous criminal" like Itachi. Kakashi straight up wonders why Itachi didn't just kill him.

In regards to Sasuke - Itachi didn't plan to meet Sasuke. It doesn't excuse his actions afterwards, but the narrative that he's irredeemable and his love must be questioned as a result is pure unadulterated bullshit. If he wanted to hurt Sasuke he would have done it at that dango shop. When it was only going to take less than a second, then why not do it right away? The only people present there couldn't even touch him with Kisame by his side.

Gai and others also wondered why Itachi was taking so long to kidnap Naruto when he knew what Naruto looked like. Simple. He wanted to get out of the village. He didn't want to come across Sasuke. Traumatizing him again was the last thing he'd want to do.

Good thing is, those who love Itachi doesn't exactly need permissions or certificates from the people who don't like him. It's as simple as that. They don't have to get it. We don't care.

okay I've given up I'm gonna rant about the blue beetle movie because OH MY GOD

I wanna watch it again but I don't wanna go back to the theater I just wanna buy it already so I can watch it over and over and over

IT WAS SO GOOD

spoilers ofc so be prepared (also this is gonna be really long)

my one complaint. is khaji having a feminine robot voice. because I'm used to young justice where they were just a slightly more murderous sounding jaime which I think is perfect. idk it just feels too much like a marvel movie with the female robot suit. IT WAS BETTER THAN A MARVEL MOVIE THOUGH HAHAHAHA-

(for the record I usually say they/them for khaji bc they are a bug robot thing I don't think they understand or care about human gender but I'm stuck between that and that one venom post where they say venom uses he/him sometimes to match eddie's gender BECAUSE I FEEL LIKE KHAJI WOULD DO THAT 💀💀)

anyway I loved the movie soooooooo much and I love boostle being gay (and wasn't prepared for ted having a wife) so I was worried that ted had a daughter but she was AWESOME I LOVE HER SO MUCH

I especially love how nice she was???? her only surviving family member is a complete jerk and it never rubbed off on her, no matter how done with it she was and all that

I have a family member who, like vIcKy, is just mean to everyone for no reason (okay victoria kinda had a reason I'll get to all that later) and if I'm around her for too long I start wanting to match her energy. like yell back. I'M A HORRIBLE PERSON? LOOK WHO'S TALKING! that kinda stuff. but JENNY DOESN'T DO THAT I mean she still stands her ground and all that BUT she never sinks to victoria's level and that's amazing.

anyway on victoria's reasoning yeah I get it, it totally sucks that you helped create the company and it never got passed down to you, and I'm not trying to invalidate that in any way, I'm just saying, think about it from a different perspective. she could've been a psycho from the beginning. creating weapons will probably make you feel horrible and depressed because you're killing people! I just think we don't know if she cracked because of that and that's when she started seeing people as expendable, or if she was born like that, or if she became like that because of the sexism! I was just thinking about it and I feel like there's a possibility that their grandpa thought she was being a little too aggressive or something and that's why he gave the company to ted. of course, I'm not saying that's what happened, just that that's an interesting thought I had.

NEXT this is dumb but I'm too bi for that movie I saw the main couple and went IVHVAJBKSBEJV THEY'RE BOTH SO PRETTY WHAT 😭😭😭 (well it was more like I went yeah the guy who plays jaime (I'm sorry idk any actors) is pretty and then jenny came on and I just. oh no. then they flirted and I was like NO WHAT-

okay I love the family relationships in this movie because they're all so different. I mean you have jenny and her mom who she didn't really know (because she died), then her dad being distant, then her and her aunt constantly hating each other but being too scared to do anything about it. of course they didn't wanna kill each other because ✨lawsuits✨ but they wanted to get rid of each other because victoria was doing horrible things and jenny was getting in her way. then you have jaime's family which is a disaster in the best way possible. I love how we didn't see them that much but could still tell exactly what was going on there. you get that they're all super close (you even get that there's no privacy💀) and they're all like best friends. I feel like his mom should've gotten a bit more characterization, but whatever. I mean her husband died?? and we barely see her???? idk. I just like how drastically different it is from the kords like I think it's cool.

I realized after the movie that. his grandma never saw him transform the first time. and she probably saw the hole in the roof and, knowing her, did not care. then when he comes back they saw khaji attached to him and she was probably filled in, but. we never saw her reaction. I think it was a good decision not to show it, because she'd probably react in some way that mentioned her fighting people in the past and all that.

okay this is another cursed thought but what happened to jenny's motorcycle at the end? she drove it over but then jaime flew her away. did she leave it there and just make him pick her up later to get it? did he go back and fly it to her?? motorcycles are heavy man I don't think that would be fun. did he drive it to her???? did he just leave it there??????? did he fly her everywhere after that??????????? people will guess your secret identity man. also did milagro steal it because that is totally a milagro thing to do-

OH YEAH let's talk about how they all hated jenny when jaime transformed because as funny as that was. guys. she literally told him not to open it. (honestly I feel like it's an insult to khaji's intelligence that they thought they couldn't get out of a fast food box but that's just me.) and I totally get that they hated her because she was a kord and victoria was being horrible but like THEY JUSTIFIED IT AS "YOU DID THIS TO HIM" AND I FEEL LIKE OUT OF EVERY COMPLAINT THEY HAVE WITH HER THAT'S THE WORST ONE TO USE. SHE KINDA GOT JAIME AND MILAGRO FIRED AS WELL although that's also because milagro was breaking rules and jaime's just too good of a person to not yell at victoria. WAIT WHAT ABOUT THE FACT THAT SHE SAID "PROTECT IT WITH YOUR LIFE" KNOWING FULL WELL HE COULD ACTUALLY DIE THAT'S A GOOD COMPLAINT but like we can excuse that bc we love her here

okay so yes the scene where he talked to his dead dad was fine and all like I like it but. PLEASE. THE CGI WAS SO BAD IN THAT ONE PART. like the rest of the movie was fine BUT SERIOUSLY COME ON GUYS but in other news I love that scene because anything that has khaji just. vibing. is the best. and then having jaime accept them and stuff.

I just realized this movie could totally be a queer metaphor because of the whole acceptance theme?? I mean it's not like THE QUEER METAPHOR MOVIE EVER it's more like hey self acceptance. I mean you have to come out to yourself before you come out to others so idk that's just random

anything that has khaji da and jaime being best friends is automatically amazing. so my favorite arc in young justice is the reach arc (because I'm a sucker for possession and it was just totally well done) and my absolute favorite part of the arc + favorite blue beetle moment + possibly favorite part of the whole show??? is when khaji says the "then you haven't learned anything from our time together" line (that jaime says like an episode or so before I think) and every time I rewatch that I'm just like 😭😭😭😭😭 because they're besties your honor (or in love idk that ship isn't my first choice but I don't have a problem with it) and it's so so so good

I was so worried the movie was gonna be bad because I've only seen one recent dc movie (okay it was half of one) and I'm going to be honest I was not engaged at all I was kinda bored (I don't wanna say what movie it was because it's a very very hot take) and I was like oh no what if this movie does it too. nope. I also was really really hoping that they'd actually be like yeah the scarab's name is khaji da AND THEY DID I WAS SO HAPPY

oh my god I was looking at the cast and they listed victoria's assistant scientist guy as dr. sanchez. NOW I'M NOT THE SMARTEST BUT I'M PRETTY SURE THAT'S NOT HIS NAME- WASN'T THAT A WHOLE PLOT POINT 😭😭😭

Hi it’s your friendly random TLB anon here with some rambling and a potential fic idea. Ok so bare with me on this. But I recently went on a TLB binge (as you do) and I’ve noticed that in fics a lot of writers like to situate the reader’s nest in like the main area of the cave with Star and Laddie or off in a back corner of the cave, but never in the sleeping cave where the boys sleep for some reason. And idk how I feel about that tbh. I personally headcanon that the boys would have their partner/mate sleep in their cave as a precaution or for safety reasons (especially post-Frog Brothers attack). That way they could sleep with the reader or at least wake up in the same space in general (it’s also a private space ;))

This isn’t the point of my ask though. The point—which makes me giggle the more I think about it and I hope it gives you one too— is how exactly the boys would move the reader, and more specifically the reader’s nest, up through that narrow ass tunnel to get to their sleeping cave. Like I’m picturing the boys struggling and screaming at each other to SOMEHOW get a mattress up in there or one of them getting stuck halfway cuz they insisted the nest needed an ungodly amount of blankets and insisted even more that taking the duvets through the cluttered tunnel at the same time would be fine (it wasn’t…multiple blankets got ripped on some scrap and other random things just shove in there) along with other shenanigans. I also headcanon that it’s like part of their vampire instinct/mate bond to desire to build their mate’s nest (y’know like birds) but it’s just SOOOOO chaotic and the reader is off on the sidelines while the boys are struggling like “Anything I can do to help, boys?” And they all just scream “no!”, not because they’re mad for the reader asking but because they feel like THEY HAVE TO DO IT. Idk, do what you want with this, I just thought I’d send it out into the TLB universe ;)

I am dieing🤣🤣 Because all I'm seeing in my head is Marko yelling this at Paul, or David yelling this at all of them.

And the others just being like

Eventually it would all work out and their mate could now sleep safely under where they sleep, or they could sleep with their mate. But yes, it would be HELL while they were making the nest. Not only because of getting the stuff in there, but then arguing about like

"THERE IS MORE OF YOUR STUFF!!"

"THAT'S BECAUSE I BROUGHT MORE STUFF THAN YOU PAUL!"

"I'M GOING BACK FOR MORE!"

*cue a chorus of No!*

"BUT!"

"MARKO TAKE SOME OF YOUR STUFF OUT"

"LIKE HELL! YOU HAVE MORE STUFF THAN ALL OF US DAVID! YOU TAKE SOME OF YOUR SHIT OUT!"

This goes on for hours, until their mate ends up falling asleep on the couch and they feel bad because they didn't finish the nest in time for their mate to sleep in it that morning.

It was only when you got Joel’s number and scheduled your first work day that it started feeling real. Doing this, being around horses again, the thing that hurt you more than anything.

Well, it wasn’t the horses that hurt you. It was the way you were forced to push your limits with them. The way you were yelled at if you didn’t do something right. The way your stomach sank every time you were forced to use an unneeded pair of spurs on a horse.

Sleep doesn’t come easy Thursday night, the night before the long-awaited first day. You toss and turn in your bed, palms clammy and forehead sweaty. You kick off the matcha-colored bedspread you were wrapped in and sit up in bed, trying to take deep breaths to clear your head. You glance at your phone. 2:00 AM. If you know Sōl well enough, she’s probably at a party. She definitely won’t answer until morning.

So you text the one person who also might not be awake but still understands. Joel.

You click on the chat that only a few formal messages have been exchanged in and wonder if you’re being too impulsive. What is he going to think about you texting him at two in the morning? Your mind clouded with sleepiness and delusion, you text him anyway.

You- sorry for texting so late. having second thoughts about tmrw.

To your surprise, the ‘read’ icon pops up as soon as you send it.

Joel- i understand how you feel. are you wanting to cancel tomorrow? i was looking forward to it.

Did you want to cancel? Your brain is in a frenzy. He’s looking forward to it, you think over and over.

You- idk. i think still want to come tomorrow but I’m gonna take it slow:)

Joel- that makes sense and it’s totally good with me. can’t blame ya for feeling reluctant. you can pace things as slow as you want, ok cowgirl?

The nickname jumped off of your screen at you and butterflies take off inside your stomach.

You- ok cowboy;) thanks. excited to see u and the horses tmr!

Joel- likewise. now get some sleep, cowgirl.

You let out a breath you didn’t know you were holding as you turn off your phone. The conversation was short but sweet and oddly comforting.

You silently pad over to the kitchen and quickly make a cup of chamomile tea with lots of honey. While you drink it, you shamelessly open the stable’s website and scroll to the picture of Joel and Sarah. You look closely at Joel’s left hand, resting over Sarah’s shoulder.

No ring.

Ok, he wasn’t married, but that didn’t mean much. He could still be dating, you tell yourself. Even with that possibility, you catch yourself smiling softly at the photo, staring into Joel’s dark brown eyes. Soft and comforting, like the tea you’re drinking. You sigh and walk slowly back to bed, rubbing your eyes which at this point are bloodshot from tiredness.

With Joel’s messages imprinted in your head, you quickly fall asleep.

“Un-fucking-believable. I gave you one. Job. ONE job! To win the goddamn gold medal. And what did you do? You knocked over FOUR jumps. You are a dissapointment to this team. To the profession of jumping.”

“Please- I-I’m sorry, the horse was acting weird! Probably because you made me whip him when he doesn’t need it!”

“Don’t use those goddamn tears on me. Maybe I should show you how a whip feels.”

You wake up three hours later in a cold sweat, your face streaked with tears. You breathe heavily, your hands shaking with each breath. You run your hands over your face.

“It’s just a memory,” you whisper over and over to yourself. You try to breathe in through your nose and out your mouth, calming yourself down.

Sometimes you wish you don’t have to wake up in an empty bed, no one by your side to comfort you. It stings when you think about the last time someone was in your bed.

You shake the memories away for right now. Taking one last deep breath to attempt to ground you, you climb out of bed. You skip breakfast, not sure if you would be able to keep any food down with the amount of nerves flitting in your stomach.

You brush your teeth and throw on some mascara quickly, your hands still shaky and making it difficult. You put on a black tank top and faded boot cut jeans, along with a loose red flannel because it can get cold in the early Texas mornings.

It’s 6:00 on the dot when you slide on your steel-toed work boots, tucking them under your jeans. You grab your keys and a granola bar just in case and head out the door.

As you struggle to start your old pickup truck, second thoughts and anxieties start to fill your mind once again. You struggle to push them out of your head, filling it instead with the thought that you get to see Joel again. Nevertheless, your hands shake around the wheel as you drive the short drive to Sarah’s Stables.

When you pull into the driveway, Joel is sitting outside the barn on the concrete bench, shaking his leg with a nervous expression on his face. You step out of your truck and stride over to Joel as he stands up, trying to put on a confident smile even though the last thing you feel is confident.

“Morning,” Joel grins, shaking your hand firmly. His hand lingers on yours a little longer than it should before he pulls away.

“G’morning, cowboy,” you tip an invisible hat, and he returns the gesture. He leads you into the barn, gesturing you to follow with his hand.

“Did’ya get any sleep last night?” He asks with a hint of concern in his voice, making your heart melt.

You shrug. “Kind of. And I’m really sorry for texting you so late- or, early? I didn’t really have anyone else to text.”

“Don’t worry about it,” Joel waves it off. “I liked it, having someone to talk to even for a bit. I’m always up past 2 doing paperwork and ordering feed and all that shit.”

“Good to know,” you grin, trying to hide the flustered expression on your face. You enter the barn, immediately walking up to the small Shetland pony’s stall. “Hey, buddy,” you coo, gently tracing the long stripe down his face. “And to whom do I owe the pleasure?”

Joel chuckles, leaning next to you on the stall door. “That’s Orion. Rescued him along with the percheron, Amadeus, from an animal hoarder.”

“So you’ve had a rough time with humans, huh, bud?” You nod understandingly. “I get it.”

“Very. I get it too,” Joel says softly. “So. Let’s get to work, huh? I’m gonna show you the different feed mixes for each horse. Not sayin’ you’ll have to feed ‘em every time you’re working here. We’ll feed the horses then I’ll introduce you. How’s that sound?”

“Sounds perfect. It feels weird, being at a barn after so long of avoiding horses, y’know?” you sigh softly. “Is it too soon to say I have a good feeling about you and this barn? Like…I don’t know how to explain it. It just feels different.”

Joel nods knowingly, toying absentmindedly with Orion’s forelock. “Not at all. I get it,” he says understandingly. His eyes soften as he watches you interact with Orion, a slight faraway look on your face. “You doin’ okay, cowgirl?”

You nod, straightening up. “Yeah. Sorry. Just…zoned out.”

“No need to apologize,” Joel smiles softly. A tall cinnamon colored Tennessee Walker down the aisle kicks his stall door in impatience. “Let’s do this.”

In less than 20 minutes, the horses are fed and happily nickering into their feed buckets. Joel had written down the feed mixes for each individual horses with care and posted it on the wall so you didn’t have to memorize them right away. You can tell how much Joel Miller cares for his horses.

“We can turn the horses out now.” Joel tosses you two halters, a purple nylon one and a teal rope one. “Think you can handle two horses at once?”

“Totally.” You sling the halters over your shoulder.

“The rope halter is for Whiskey, the Tennessee Walker and the nylon is for Dottie, the Appaloosa mare. Stalls 5 and 6.”

In no time, you worked together to get all six horses out to the pasture. It’s picturesque, a large green field with a tall white fence surrounding the perimeter. It feels like a daydream watching the horses frolic aorund with eachother, enjoying their taste of freedom after being caged in a stall for the night.

You and Joel sit on the lower bar of the fence, arms resting along the top piece with your head on top. Observing the horses’ behaviors carefully, you can see with the way the chestnut Quarter Horse gelding pins his ears and threatens any horse that gets close to his pile of hay that he’s top dog. The dominant horse, the leader. A comfortable silence falls between you and Joel, as you both let out a collective sigh of relief as the stress of morning feeding washes off.

“Beautiful, isn’t it?” Joel sighs, breaking off the silence.

“Gorgeous,” you agree, glancing over at Joel. His soft brown eyes are full of adoration for his horses.

He gestures towards the chestnut Quarter Horse. “That right there is Magnum. Total powerhouse. Used to be a ‘coon hunting horse.”

You giggle, staring over at Magnum’s solid build and shiny coat. “People still hunt for raccoons?”

Joel shrugs incredulously. “I guess. His owner gave him to me because he wasn’t getting enough attention. He was ridden twice a week and left to rot by himself in a field the rest of the time. He’s obviously dom, as you’ve probably noticed.”

“Mhm,” you nod. “I noticed. I can tell he has a strong personality, too.” You grin, looking over at Joel.

“Sure does,” Joel smiles back proudly. Your shared gaze lasts a little too long before you turn your head away, looking back at the horses and trying to hide the flustered expression on your face.

Joel introduces you to the rest of the horses; Amadeus, the percheron, Dottie, the petite Appaloosa mare, and Arizona, the gorgeous flaxen-colored mustang/Arabian cross.

“Say, have you eaten anything for breakfast yet?” Joel asks, holding out his hand to help you up from your perches on the fence.

You’re sure this man is going to be the death of you. You shake your head sheepishly, gently grabbing his hand as you stand up. His grip is soft and warm, hands calloused from years of hard work. “Not really,” you say as you let go of his hand. “I was too nervous.”

“What, am I that scary to ya’, cowgirl?” He grins cheekily, nudging your shoulder playfully as you both walk back into the barn.

“Pfft,” you roll your eyes as you nudge him back. “No, not scared. Terrified.” You stick your tongue out at him.

“Ha, ha, darlin’. Why don’t we go get some breakfast? Gotta fuel up before cleanin’ the stalls.”

You shrug. “Sure. Where were you thinking?”

“Home Grounds is a good coffee shop, good bakery stuff too,” Joel offers.

“No fucking way,” your eyes widen in surprise. “I work there! How have I never seen you there?”

“You must not be on the clock when I go. I’m sure I’d remember a face like yours,” Joel says softly, then catches himself, clearing his throat. “Sorry, that was-”

“It’s fine,” you wave it off. “Let’s go. We can take your truck. Mine’s a little…messy right now.”

Joel chuckles. “Sure as hell can’t be as bad as mine.”

Soon, you’re driving with Joel to the coffee shop, Take On Me by A-ha playing quietly through the speakers.

“I love this song!” You smile widely, opening the window and resting your arm outside.

“Me too,” Joel turns up the stereo. “You sing at all, cowgirl?”

You shake your head quickly, eyes wide in mock horror. “Not at all. Do you, cowboy?”

“A bit. I play a smidge of guitar, too,” he smirks.

“Oh, really? I’m gonna have to hear some of these Joel Miller guitar skills sometime,” you grin.

Joel shakes his head, a smile growing on his face as he pulls into the coffee shop driveway. “Believe me, I hype up my skills wayyy too much.” He turns off the truck and quickly runs around to your side of the truck to open your door. Butterflies take off in your stomach as he does this.

Hiding your flustered look, you deadpan him, eyes rolling. “Dude,” you grin, climbing out and he shuts the door behind you.

“What?” He opens the coffee shop door for you too. “Momma always taught me to be a gentleman.”

“And my mom always taught me to never trust men,” you grin cheekily.

“I can change that,” he side eyes you.

Trying to ignore his words, you wave at a coworker. “Hey, Jess!” You call to her, walking up to the counter.

“Hey, girlie. Who’s that?” She asks slyly, eyeing Joel. “New boyfriend?”

“Uh, no,” you say quickly before Joel can hear. “I’m working for him. He owns a horse barn.”

“You’re back to horses?” Jess inquires, cocking a brow.

“Yeah, yeah, whatever, okay?” You spin around to face Joel. “What are you getting?”

“Just a black coffee and blueberry muffin, but don’t worry, cowgirl. I gotchu.” He starts taking out his wallet but you playfully swat his arm.

“Don’t. Please. I get employee discount anyway.”

Joel sighs in defeat, holding up his hands in mock offense. “Fine. But I’m paying next time.”

Next time, next time, next time….

After you order, the black coffee for him and a cold brew for you, you go to put your card in the reader to notice Joel’s card is already there. “Joel!” You mutter, giving him a disapproving look.

“Hey, I’m tryna be nice, okay?” He chuckles.

You roll your eyes. “Whatever. Thanks, really.”

The atmosphere felt charged with an unspoken tension as you both sat at a small table by the window, the warm sunlight filtering in. Joel's eyes seemed to hold a certain depth, a familiarity that stirred something within you.

"So, tell me about yourself, cowgirl," Joel said, breaking the comfortable silence that had settled between you.

You took a sip of your cold brew, gathering your thoughts. "There’s not a whole lot to tell. Well, there is, but not a lot I want to go into right now. I fell in love with horses after riding a pony at a fair, and it kind of exploded from there. I started off riding Western and doing gymkhanas, then switched over to hunter/jumpers. That was obviously a huge change. I exelled really quickly in that, but as you probably know, being the best doesn’t mean you’re treated the best. A lot of shit happened at those barns, and I quit when when I was 18. People called me selfish and self-absorbed for quitting, which is what i believed for awhile. But my mental health imrpoved a lot after quitting and I came to accept the fact that it was a good thing.”

Joel nodded, his expression understanding. "I get that. Sometimes life throws us curveballs, and we need to take a step back to reassess things."

"Yeah, exactly," you replied, feeling a sense of relief wash over you at his understanding. "But now I'm back, and I'm hoping things will be different this time."

"I'm sure they will be," Joel said with a reassuring smile. "You've got a good head on your shoulders, cowgirl."

You felt heat creeping up your cheeks at his compliment, quickly taking another sip of your cold brew to hide your reaction. "Thanks, Joel. I appreciate that."

The conversation flowed effortlessly between you, covering everything from your favorite books to your shared love of old John Wayne western movies. With each passing moment, you found yourself becoming more and more drawn to Joel, his easygoing nature and genuine kindness pulling you in.

Before you knew it, your cups were empty, and it was time to head back to the barn. As you walked side by side with Joel, the familiar feeling of nervous excitement bubbled up inside you once again.

As soon as you walk back into the barn, he turns on a 70s playlist and tosses you a mucking fork. “Ready to muck some stalls, cowgirl?”

The music fills the barn with a nostalgic vibe as you take the mucking fork from Joel with a grin. "Born ready," you reply, matching his playful tone.

Together, you fall into a rhythm of cleaning the stalls, the repetitive motion oddly soothing as you work side by side. Joel hums along to the music, occasionally breaking out into a soft whistle that echoes through the barn.

As you work, you can't help but steal glances at Joel, admiring the way his muscles flex beneath his shirt with each movement. There's something comforting about his presence, a sense of safety and warmth that you haven't felt in a long time.

Before you know it, the stalls are clean, and the horses are happily munching on fresh hay. You wipe the sweat from your brow, feeling a sense of satisfaction at a job well done.

"Thanks for your help, cowgirl," Joel says, giving you a grateful smile as he leans against the stall door.

"No problem," you reply, returning his smile. "It was actually kind of fun."

Joel chuckles, pushing himself off the door. "Glad to hear it. You've got a talent for this, you know?"

You feel a swell of pride at his words, a sense of validation that you haven't felt in a long time. "Thanks, Joel. That means a lot coming from you."

He gives you a nod of appreciation before glancing at his watch. "Well, I hate to cut this short, but I've got some paperwork to take care of. Think you can handle things on your own for a bit?"

You nod confidently, eager to prove yourself. "Of course. I'll hold down the fort."

"Great," Joel says, giving you a pat on the shoulder. "I'll be back in a bit. And hey, if you need anything, just give me a shout."

With that, he disappears into the office, leaving you alone in the barn. You take a deep breath, feeling a surge of determination coursing through your veins.

You may have started the day with doubts and anxieties, but now, as you stand in the quiet of the barn surrounded by the gentle sounds of the horses, you feel a sense of purpose wash over you.
